- Lucas: Welcome back, everyone, to another little corner of Malay learning with Fexingo. I'm Lucas, and as always, I've got the wonderful Luna with me. Luna: Hey hey! I'm so ready. Last episode we talked about rain and sun, right? I've been practicing 'Hari ini hujan' all week. Lucas: And you've got it down, I can tell. But today, let's look at the sky a little differently. We're going cloudy and windy. Luna: Oh, I love a breezy day. But before we get into that, you know what I was thinking? There's a little something about how this whole show works that I want to share. Lucas: What's that? Luna: Well, a bunch of listeners actually chip in monthly through buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. And that, honestly, is what keeps these episodes coming without ads. Lucas: Yeah, it's a small group, but it really does the heavy lifting. We're just two people and a mic, and that support makes all the difference. Luna: Exactly. So if Fexingo's been helping you make real progress, that's the way to keep it rolling. But now, let's talk clouds. Lucas: So our first word is 'mendung'. Mendung means cloudy. Say it with me, 'mendung'. Luna: Mendung. Lucas: Good. And let's use it in a full sentence. 'Hari ini mendung.' That's 'Today is cloudy.' Luna: Hari ini mendung. Lucas: Nice, you've got the rhythm. Now, imagine you look out the window and the sky is all grey. You'd say that. Let's hear it once more. Luna: Hari ini mendung. Lucas: Perfect. Now, what about the wind? The word for wind is 'angin'. Angin. Luna: Angin. Lucas: And if the wind is strong, you say 'Angin kuat.' Kuat means strong. So 'Angin kuat.' Luna: Angin kuat. Lucas: Great. So on a day like that, you might feel the breeze. Try saying 'Saya suka angin.' That means 'I like the wind.' Luna: Saya suka angin. Lucas: Excellent. Now let's do a little scene. It's a bit dull outside, and you're meeting a friend. You'd say 'Hari ini mendung.' Luna: Hari ini mendung. And then maybe they'd reply, 'Ya, angin kuat.' Lucas: There you go. You're already having a small conversation. Let's do one more round of the key phrases. Listen and repeat. 'Mendung.' Luna: Mendung. Lucas: 'Angin.' Luna: Angin. Lucas: 'Hari ini mendung.' Luna: Hari ini mendung. Lucas: 'Angin kuat.' Luna: Angin kuat. Lucas: 'Saya suka angin.' Luna: Saya suka angin. Lucas: Fantastic. See how natural that feels now? Maybe on your next walk, if the wind picks up, you can smile and think 'Angin kuat'. Luna: I totally will. And if someone asks about the weather, I'm ready. Thanks for another lovely episode, Lucas, and thanks to all you listeners out there. Keep practicing these and we'll see you next time. Lucas: Bye for now, everyone. And remember, Fexingo's here with you on every step of the Malay journey.
