- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Ministry of Ian Green, a place where faith is strengthened, hope is renewed, and the Word of God comes alive.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: Whether you're searching for answers, walking through a difficult season, or simply hungry to know God more deeply, you're in the right place.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: So take a moment, quiet your heart, and open your spirit.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Let's get into the Word of God together.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: This is Ian Green and this is today's message.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Victorious.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Winning from a finished work.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Today I want to speak about one word.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Victorious.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Not trying to be victorious and not hoping one day you might become victorious.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Not victorious because everything in your life is easy, but victorious because of Jesus Christ.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Paul says, Thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Notice where the victory comes from.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: It doesn't come through our intelligence, it doesn't come through our money, it doesn't come through our connections or our talent, it doesn't come through our own strength, but the victory comes through Jesus Christ.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: And that is important because sometimes we have misunderstood what a victorious Christian life looks like.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: We think victory means you never have a problem, or victory means nobody attacks you.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Victory means you never cry.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Victory means you never become discouraged.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Victory means you never experience loss.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: But that isn't what the Bible teaches.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Jesus said, In the world you shall have tribulation.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: He didn't say you might, he said you shall.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: In other words, trouble is guaranteed, but so is the victory of Christ.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: See, Christian victory doesn't begin with us, it begins at Calvary.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: There was a battle that humanity could never win.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Sin had separated mankind from God, and death had entered the world.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Satan had accused humanity, and the law exposed our guilt.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: And mankind could not save itself.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: So Jesus stepped into the battle.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Colossians 2 verse 14 to 15 tells us that Jesus spoiled principalities and powers and made a show of them openly, triumphing over them through the cross.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Something enormous happened at Calvary.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: The cross wasn't Jesus losing, the cross was Jesus winning.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: And when they drove the nails into his hands, he was winning.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: When they pierced his side, he was winning.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: And when darkness covered the earth, he was winning.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: And when he cried, It is finished, he wasn't saying, I'm finished.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: He was saying the work is finished.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: The debt has been paid.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Sin has been dealt with.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: The price has been paid.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: The enemy has been defeated.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: The way back to the Father has been opened.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: And three days later, Jesus got up from the grave.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Death couldn't hold him, the grave couldn't keep him, hell couldn't defeat him.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: And because he got up victorious, everyone who belongs to him shares in his victory.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: That's why 1 Corinthians doesn't say, Thanks be to God who might give us victory.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: No, it says who gives us the victory.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Somebody say the victory has already been won.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: This changes everything.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: There is a difference between fighting for victory and fighting from victory.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: If you're fighting for victory, you're wondering who is going to win.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: But when you're fighting from victory, the decisive battle has already been settled.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Jesus has already conquered.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Hebrews tells us that after Jesus had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, he sat down at the right hand of God.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Why did he sit down?
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Because the work was complete.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Jesus isn't pacing around heaven worried about whether Satan is going to win.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Jesus is seated.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: The king is on the throne.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: And so when the enemy attacks your mind, remember Jesus is still on the throne.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: When circumstances change, Jesus is still on the throne.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: When people walk away, Jesus is still on the throne.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: And when the doctor's report isn't what you wanted, Jesus is still on the throne.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: When your finances are under pressure, Jesus is on the throne.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: When your family is going through warfare, Jesus is still on the throne.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: Your circumstances may change, but the throne hasn't changed, and the one sitting upon it has already won.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: So being victorious doesn't mean you never have a battle.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Romans 8 35 asks, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Then Paul begins listing terrible circumstances, tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, sword.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Then he says, Nay, and all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Notice he doesn't say away from all these things.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: He says, in all these things.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: That's powerful.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: God doesn't always demonstrate his victory by stopping you from entering the fire.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Sometimes he demonstrates his victory by walking through the fire with you.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Ask Sadrach, Meshach, and Abendico, they went into the furnace, but the furnace didn't have the final word.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Ask Daniel, he went into the lion's dead, but the lions didn't have the final word.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Ask Joseph, he went into the pit, he went into slavery, he went into prison, but the prison didn't have the final word.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, ask David.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: He faced Goliath, he ran from Saul, he experienced betrayal, he experienced warfare, but none of those things had the final word.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: And somebody needs to hear this.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: What you're going through right now does not get the final word over your life.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: God does.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: So the victorious believer knows who they are.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: One of the enemy's greatest weapons is identity confusion.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: If Satan can make you forget who you are, he can make you live beneath what Christ purchased for you.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Romans 8 doesn't say we might become conquerors.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: It says we are more than conquerors.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: That's identity.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: You don't become a child of God once everything is going well.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: You are a child of God in the storm.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: You are a child of God when you feel strong, when you feel weak, when people applaud you, when people misunderstand you, or you know, your identity isn't determined by people's opinions.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: Your identity is determined by your relationship with Christ.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: The world may call you rejected, but God calls you accepted.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: The world may call you defeated, but God calls you victorious.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: The world may call you forgotten, but God says, I will never leave thee or forsake thee.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: The enemy may remind you of yesterday, but God says, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: You've got to know who you are.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: See, victory begins in the mind.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Many battles are lost before anything happens externally because they are first lost internally.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: Proverbs says, as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: The enemy loves to plant thoughts.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: You'll never make it, nothing's gonna change.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: You've gone too far, God has forgotten you, your best days are behind you, you'll always struggle with this.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: But 2 Corinthians 10 tells us to bring thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: You cannot stop every thought from knocking on the door, but you don't have to invite every thought inside.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: Some thoughts need to be answered with the word of God.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: When fear says you won't survive this, answer, God has not given me the spirit of fear.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: When weakness says, you can't do this, answer, I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: When condemnation says God doesn't want you anymore, your answer will be, there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Hallelujah.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: When defeat says it's over, your answer should be, thanks be unto God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: You have to learn to speak God's word louder than your circumstances.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Remember, your praise is a sound of victory.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: There is a sound that comes from victorious people.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: It's called praise.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: Anyone can praise after the walls come down, but victorious faith praises while the walls are still standing.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: Joshua 6 tells us Israel shouted before the walls fell.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Jehoshaphat sent singers ahead of the army.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Paul and Silas sang at midnight while their feet were still in stocks.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: They didn't wait for the prison door to open.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: They praised God inside the prison.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: And suddenly there was an earthquake and chains came loose, doors opened.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Because praise says, My circumstances will not determine my revelation of God.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: I may be in prison, but God is still good.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: I may be waiting, but God is still faithful.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: I may not understand it, but God is still sovereign.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: I may be under attack, but God is still worthy.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: There is something dangerous to the kingdom of darkness about a believer who can worship God while they're under pressure.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Because Satan realizes I've attacked them and they're still praising.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: I've discouraged them and they're still praising.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: I've tried to stop them and they're still praising.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: I've thrown everything at them and they're still standing.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: That's victorious praise.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Sometimes victory looks like simply still standing.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Ephesians 6 says, and having done all to stand.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we imagine victory has to look spectacular, but sometimes victory looks like this.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: You didn't quit.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: You didn't turn back.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: You didn't abandon your faith.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: You're still praying.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: You're still believing.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: You're still worshiping.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: You're still following Jesus.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: You're still standing.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: You've been hit, but you're standing.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: You've cried, but you're standing.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: You've been disappointed, but you're standing.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: People walked away, but you're standing.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: You didn't understand what God was doing, but you're standing.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Nevertheless, never underestimate the spiritual power of simply refusing to quit.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: The enemy thought that season would destroy you, but you're still here.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: That means God kept you.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Your testimony becomes a weapon.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: Revelation 12, 11 says, And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: Your testimony is powerful.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: When you testify, you're saying, I've seen God do it before.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: David looked at Goliath and remembered the lion and the bear.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: He had history with God.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: Sometimes when you face a new giant, you need to remember your old victories.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: Remember the prayers God answered.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Remember the doors God opened.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Remember what should have destroyed you.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Remember the times there appeared to be no way.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: Remember the times God provided.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Remember the times God protected you.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: The times God healed your heart.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: The times where God restored you.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: You may be facing something new right now, but you're still serving the same God.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: If he was faithful then, he will be faithful now.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: So don't let yesterday's battle define tomorrow's destiny.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Some people survived the battle physically but are still living inside it mentally.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: God brought them out, but the battle is still inside them.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: You cannot walk victoriously if your whole identity is built around what happened to you.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: You are not a failure, you are not your trauma, you are not your disappointment, you are not the person who rejected you, you are not your worst decision, you are not your worst season.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: If you're in Christ, your story has been rewritten by grace.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Philippians 3 says, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward into the things which are before.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: There comes a moment when you have to say, I'm moving forward.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: I learned from yesterday, but I will not live there.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: I survived yesterday, but I will not build my house there.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: God still has something ahead of me.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Victory is not just about what God brings you out of.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Sometimes our testimony becomes, look what God brought me out of, and that's wonderful.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: But victory isn't only about what God brings you out of, it's also about what God brings you into.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: Israel didn't leave Egypt just to wander forever.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: There was a promised land.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: God doesn't merely want to deliver you from something, He wants to bring you into purpose, into maturity, into holiness, into calling, into deeper intimacy with Him, into the assignment He placed upon your life.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: Victory isn't merely I survived, victory is I'm becoming who God called me to be.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: The greatest victory is eternal.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: We must never reduce Christianity to simply winning earthly battles.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: The ultimate victory isn't a bigger house.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: It isn't financial success.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: It isn't recognition or achievement.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: It isn't even physical healing.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: The ultimate victory is that Jesus Christ has defeated sin and death and given us eternal life.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Paul says, O death, where is thy sting?
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: O grave, where is thy victory?
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: Then he declares, Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: Death used to be mankind's final enemy, but Jesus walked into death and came out the other side.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: The tomb is empty.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Jesus is alive.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: And because he lives, everyone who belongs to him will live also.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: That is why the believer can stand even in the face of death and declare, I am victorious.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: See, we are more than conquerors.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: Romans 8 doesn't just call us conquerors, it says, more than conquerors.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: A conqueror wins the battle.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: But somebody who is more than a conqueror benefits from a victory that someone else has already won.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: Jesus fought the decisive battle and we receive its benefits.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: He took the punishment, we received the righteousness.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: He took the shame, we receive acceptance.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: He tasted death, we receive eternal life.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: He defeated the enemy, we stand in his victory.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: That's why our confidence isn't arrogance.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: We're not saying, look how strong I am.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: We're saying, look how great Jesus is.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: That's the difference.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: Biblical victory always points back to Christ.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: I want somebody to declare this today.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: I'm victorious through Jesus Christ.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: Not because every battle is over, not because every prayer has been answered, not because every problem has disappeared, but because Jesus Christ is Lord.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: The blood still works.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: The grave is still empty.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: The throne is still occupied.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: The word is still true.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: The Holy Ghost still has power and God is still faithful.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: I am victorious.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: When fear comes, victorious.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: When temptation comes, victorious.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: When opposition comes, victorious, when discouragement comes, victorious, when the enemy tells me to quit, I'm victorious.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: When I cannot see the way, I'm victorious.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: When I'm walking through the valley, victorious.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: Because thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: If you've never surrendered your life to Jesus, or perhaps you've walked away from him, or you've been trying to live life in your own strength, today you can come home.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: You can know forgiveness.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: You can know freedom.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: You can know eternal life.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: You can know Jesus.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: And the greatest victory you will ever experience begins when you surrender to the one who already won.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: So, Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you that you have given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: Thank you for the cross.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Thank you for the blood.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: Thank you for the empty tomb.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: Thank you that Jesus is alive.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Lord, strengthen every person who is fighting a battle today.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: For the discouraged bring encouragement.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: For the weary bring strength.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: For the fearful bring faith.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: And for those who feel defeated, remind them who they are in Christ.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Let chains break, let strongholds fall, and let faith arise.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Let hope arise.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: Let worship arise and let a sound of victory come from your people.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: We declare that our circumstances will not have the final word, but fear will not have the final word, that failure will not have the final word.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: Sickness will not have the final word.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: The enemy will not have the final word.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Jesus has the final word.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: And because Jesus is victorious, we can stand today and declare, we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: We are victorious through Jesus Christ.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: In Jesus' mighty name.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Thank you for joining me today, and I pray that this message has encouraged you, strengthened your faith, and drawn you closer to God.
