- 0:17Our only plan is to keep it 100 and do it for the fam.
- 0:24What up, what up, what up? What's going on? Same old same.
- 0:29Six mil, keeping it true. It's your boy, KG. What's up with you,
- 0:33man? How you feeling today?
- 0:34Good. A little tired. Went to bed late last night, playing around on the phone.
- 0:39Looked up, dog. It was 2 o'clock in the morning. 2 o'clock in the morning.
- 0:43I couldn't tell you the last time I stayed up that late. I ain't even gonna lie to you, bro.
- 0:47I ain't doing a bunch of nothing. I don't even remember what I was looking at.
- 0:49Just scrolling and laughing.
- 0:52Yeah, but was it fun? Were you enjoying yourself? I don't remember.
- 0:55I felt like... No, that's hilarious.
- 0:58When I woke up this morning, the phone was by the window.
- 1:02Oh, wow. So I must have rolled over and it hit the wall or something. But yeah. Yeah.
- 1:08Yeah, yeah. I feel you. So welcome to episode 10 of For The Fam Podcast, y'all.
- 1:14No, we getting there. We trying to be consistent as far as our uploading schedule and everything.
- 1:19So continue to tune in. Give us a like. Give us a share.
- 1:24Subscribe all of that good stuff so uh what you want to get into today bro want
- 1:29to talk about assigning value um nothing in particular just overall you know
- 1:35different different aspects of life assigning value whether it be economic whether it be culture,
- 1:43um art as you mentioned a little while ago so social value so on and so forth
- 1:49with the Key word being value.
- 1:54Right. Which is subjective. Correct.
- 1:56Value means different things to different people.
- 2:00So I guess that's sort of what we want to get into is, you know,
- 2:05how how the term value is applied.
- 2:10And I guess, you know, how it's assessed. Right.
- 2:14All right. Cool. Well, go ahead, bro. Let's get into it. So one of the things
- 2:18that I know I always tell the kids and I know they used to get tired of me saying
- 2:23it just because something doesn't mean something.
- 2:26Just because it doesn't mean something to you doesn't mean doesn't mean something to somebody else.
- 2:30You may think something is silly. Right. You may think something is stupid.
- 2:33You can even have an opinion on it. But at the end of the day,
- 2:36the value in whether or not they should go to college or not,
- 2:41whether or not they should take that job, whether or not they should date that person,
- 2:46start a family, it's on them.
- 2:49It's what's valued to them, not what is valued just to you. If that makes any sense.
- 2:58Like valuing other people's perspectives.
- 3:03Opinions is on the tip of my tongue which i just said it but
- 3:05i didn't want to say opinions because you don't have to value other people's
- 3:10opinions especially if they're silly ones but yeah i i get it just just how
- 3:15how you you know like you were saying just because it's not important to you
- 3:19does not mean it's not important to them so yeah i get that i get that sure sure sure just,
- 3:24perspective and all of that kind of stuff sure,
- 3:28I'll give you an example. Recent. I didn't finish school. My brother didn't
- 3:32finish school. College, y'all, college, not high school.
- 3:35My sister never went to school. She did go to cosmetology school.
- 3:39So technically, I guess, you
- 3:41know, she did finish. Man, my nephew graduating college was huge. Sure.
- 3:48You know what I mean? That's my nephew. Obviously, I was proud of him,
- 3:51but I didn't realize how proud I was of him.
- 3:56And now I've got two, another niece and nephew that are going to graduate here
- 4:01shortly within the next two years or whatnot.
- 4:05That value is like, I didn't realize how valuable it was.
- 4:10Well, it makes me think of those old commercials where the person would buy
- 4:17two or three random items and then at the end they'd go spending time with Family Priceless.
- 4:26MasterCard. Oh, is that what I'm like? What product was that? Okay.
- 4:30Yeah. So it makes me think of that. And yeah, it's just one of those things
- 4:36where it's just like, it's so personal.
- 4:41If that's the right term for it, I mean, like you said, it's important to you.
- 4:47You feel great about that. But to somebody else, it's like, yeah.
- 4:53Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What are you going to do with it?
- 4:56Doesn't doesn't matter that's that's my sister's boy yeah
- 5:00she was happy she cried she right you know right we
- 5:02were all happy right just to see him accomplish that yeah
- 5:06that's that's that's huge and yeah no nobody should
- 5:09knock that it's a huge accomplishment it's a huge step in
- 5:12that person's life yeah that's that's
- 5:15that's what's up i'm i'm gonna i'm gonna jump all
- 5:19over the place as i often do if you
- 5:22listen to the podcast it's to go
- 5:25back to what you were saying a few weeks ago when we
- 5:27were talking about sporting contracts and
- 5:31you said that you're as valuable as someone is willing to
- 5:34pay you worth what they want to pay you yeah
- 5:37yeah yeah that can apply to so
- 5:40many different things other than just athletics you know
- 5:43what i'm saying whether it's a a rug
- 5:47a persian rug that you know i may
- 5:50think is ugly somebody else may look at
- 5:53this rug and go yeah that rug five thousand
- 5:56dollars so at that
- 5:59point it's now worth five thousand dollars
- 6:02but i'm going i wouldn't give you five dollars for this
- 6:05piece of shit and it
- 6:07is it's crazy to me how subjective like the word value actually is when you
- 6:13think about it in retrospect like we were talking about art yeah which is sort
- 6:18of the same as the rug right yeah take someone like john is it john Paul or
- 6:24Jean-Pierre? Basquiat.
- 6:26Pierre. Okay. Am I tripping? I don't know. I think we both are.
- 6:30Anyway, Basquiat. Y'all know who we're talking about. Somebody correct us. Right, right, right.
- 6:35I don't think his art was particularly good. That's just my personal opinion. But it was valuable.
- 6:42And it's just, I mean, to me it looked elementary. It looked like something
- 6:47a fifth grader could do. And it's just like,
- 6:51Somebody else was going, this is great. I want to pay $10,000 for this piece.
- 6:56And it's like, are you serious right now?
- 6:58You remember the dude that went into the museum and put the pair of shoes in
- 7:02the ceiling and walked away?
- 7:04And people started like crowding around, looking at it and was interested in it.
- 7:08It was just a pair of shoes. He just took them off, set them on the floor and walked away.
- 7:13We're both comic book fans.
- 7:16Think about the rabbit in the snowstorm painting that the Punisher likes.
- 7:21Not the Punisher. The Kingpin likes. The Rabbit in the Snow.
- 7:25It's just a white canvas.
- 7:28Loves it. Loves it. Stares at it. Stares at it. It's just a white canvas.
- 7:33There's nothing to look at.
- 7:36But he loves it. And it's just like, are you serious?
- 7:42That's his, you know, people have places that they go where they can clear their
- 7:46mind. Yeah. For him, it seems like that's what it is.
- 7:50What we're doing right now, we're podcasting. As of right now,
- 7:55there is no monetary value.
- 7:59But for you and I, this is quite valuable. Absolutely.
- 8:05Now think about somebody like Joe Rogan or what's to call her daddy. Yeah.
- 8:11How much their podcasts are worth. and we're doing the exact same thing.
- 8:18So it is really, in a nutshell...
- 8:22You're as valuable as the next man is willing to pay if you're only looking
- 8:28at it from a monetary standpoint.
- 8:31Whatever the next man is willing to pay, that's your value.
- 8:35I don't know which one carries more weight. Is it the sentimental value,
- 8:39which you can't put a price on sentimental value?
- 8:42Or is it? Well, in America and capitalism,
- 8:46of course, most people are going to say it's the monetary value
- 8:49but i mean which one
- 8:52is it you know what i'm saying it's a it's a it's a
- 8:55either or in my opinion one of my favorite podcasts sports
- 8:58podcast i mean you hear me reference it all the time if most
- 9:01people listen to that podcast they go yo man this is the silliest crap i've
- 9:05ever heard in my life how can you how does how does this dude finish number
- 9:10one and number two in sports podcasting in the united states every single week
- 9:14than the stout like People have been riding with that crew for 20 years, so you get used to it.
- 9:21But I'll admit, when I listen to it some days, I'll be like,
- 9:24yo, what are we talking about?
- 9:27None of this makes any sense. But to me, I had a point in my life where I couldn't
- 9:32function if I didn't listen to that podcast. Oh, wow.
- 9:36It was that valuable to me in my day-to-day, especially when I was doing all that driving. Yeah.
- 9:42It was extremely valuable to me. Yeah.
- 9:45And if I didn't listen to it, I felt like my whole day was ruined. Yeah.
- 9:50But other people would be like, nah, dog, that's a stupid podcast.
- 9:54Don't listen to it. Has no value to them. Interesting. Interesting.
- 9:59To spin this in another way, since we're talking about podcasts, right?
- 10:05Is a lot of success kind of based on luck and like the podcast atmosphere?
- 10:10I mean, like, yeah, cause there's a lot of great that no one listens to.
- 10:15Podcasts that no one listens to. Right.
- 10:17So, so is it kind of like just luck and you getting lucky and the right person
- 10:20hears it and goes, I'm going to make you an offer.
- 10:25And now you're on crooked media or you're on range media or I heart or whoever,
- 10:30you know what I'm saying?
- 10:32Picks you up. So yeah, it's, it's just like, what do we do with value in America?
- 10:38It also boils down to the people around you. How valuable is it to them?
- 10:44Is it valuable? Is this podcast valuable enough to be like, you know what?
- 10:49Here, take a listen to this. I want you to hear this.
- 10:52This is my friend or this is, you know, my cousin or whatever. So it's also about.
- 10:59What the fans want or people like, are you giving them something that they're
- 11:04going to tune into every single week?
- 11:06You have to make it valuable to them. So at that point, do you start catering
- 11:11your show to the fans or do you stick to what your true intentions were?
- 11:18Because that's how you ultimately built a fan base. Us now?
- 11:24No, we stick to what we do. Sure. maybe 20 years ago
- 11:27we probably would have been like all right yeah we'll
- 11:30adjust it a little bit yeah yeah i'm not willing
- 11:33and i know you're not not willing to well let's
- 11:35talk about this right let's start talking
- 11:38about the kardashians no right right right i'm good no i feel that yeah yeah
- 11:43yeah definitely definitely which is an avenue that we could easily go down yeah
- 11:50you know what i'm saying silly not yeah you're right but but but Lord forbid,
- 11:57we could be the liberal version of a Charlie Kirk if if we wanted to go down
- 12:05that avenue, you know what I'm saying?
- 12:06And I mean, just say all type of extreme stuff, but with a liberal.
- 12:11Point of view on it and then privately not not
- 12:14any of that there you go right there
- 12:17that that part but you know what the difference is a lot of our friends are
- 12:20calling us hey man what the hell y'all talking about i
- 12:24don't know damn well y'all don't believe this right right right so it's yeah
- 12:28yeah it's so it's so say weird in america how we assign and how we assess value
- 12:36and and like i said in a because we are on a capitalism,
- 12:43economic system, capitalistic economic system, excuse me, y'all.
- 12:50Everything is mostly going to be about the money. Does this make any money?
- 12:55That's how most people are going to place their value, which is kind of why
- 12:59we're in such a bad place right now, because the money is basically overriding everything.
- 13:09People look at some CEOs like they're good people and we value your opinion,
- 13:16yada, yada, yada, because they're the boss, because they have a lot of money.
- 13:20Look at some, excuse me, someone like Jeff Bezos.
- 13:24You're kind of a douchebag. Elon,
- 13:27you're a douchebag. But because you have money, your opinion has value.
- 13:34Your opinion has influence.
- 13:37But you're a scumbag doesn't make you a good person. But so many people would
- 13:42be way more interested in hearing their opinions than they would are.
- 13:47Exactly. Yeah, exactly. And only because they have money, not because they're
- 13:52any smarter, but because they have money.
- 13:56But the second we got that money opened up a studio, then people will start
- 14:01paying attention. Yeah, right.
- 14:04But of course, it's always been that way. it's just
- 14:07social media you know as great as it is
- 14:10it's happening you know it's also detrimental
- 14:13you know it it gives people speaking
- 14:17of value people value just some of
- 14:20the things they see on social media and and the
- 14:23value they give it when in your mind
- 14:26you're just like yo that that's brain rot like
- 14:30just i don't know dog well i
- 14:33mean it it goes back to what we were just saying though at the
- 14:36beginning to us it may be brain rot to
- 14:39them maybe it's therapeutic maybe i
- 14:43mean i i have to admit i never got
- 14:46the whole cat video oh yeah
- 14:49phase that that people were i gotta watch some cat videos and
- 14:52i'm like but what the hell for i never got it but to them if it was therapeutic
- 14:58go with it if that stopped you from taking your gun and you know going and doing
- 15:04something stupid yeah then watch as many cat videos as you like please,
- 15:11right.
- 15:13So it's just I don't know bro do we want to twist this and talk about social
- 15:21values we want to talk about political values I mean.
- 15:26Yeah okay let's go for it yeah I mean with political value it seems like Thank you.
- 15:36The demand for tangible value in exchange for political support is just wild.
- 15:43Sell your soul to the devil. Right now.
- 15:46Sell your soul to the devil, basically, which is what a lot of them are doing
- 15:49at this point. Especially with everything going on right now.
- 15:53We got somebody stepping out from the shadows, donating $130 million to gain
- 16:01fame, to gain value with their dollars.
- 16:04Sure. to pay the military how about y'all just reopen
- 16:07the government right what do you think that
- 16:10130 130 million is gonna turn turn into a
- 16:13favor it's gonna turn into a favor for sure some some some some type of kickback
- 16:18remember remember when i broke you off yeah i'm gonna need this yeah and i got
- 16:23i got more to say about that later on okay okay cool but it's it's just it's
- 16:29just wild to me. Oh, I can just buy this.
- 16:34Yeah, I'm going to make this valuable.
- 16:37Well, when we have a corrupt leader and a whole bunch of corrupt cronies Take that word leader out.
- 16:49It is it's so easy to do now
- 16:52in in in previous administrations you
- 16:56would have got told to kick rocks with that 130 million or
- 16:59if you didn't we wouldn't know about
- 17:03it right don't make it right because taking a right is right right right but
- 17:08yeah i'm just gonna go ahead i hand the open oh you give me 130 appreciate it
- 17:13yeah yeah it's wild it's wild it's wild what we've become And quickly.
- 17:22It's only been 10 months. It's only been 10 months, bro.
- 17:27Dude, I almost threw my phone. Like, I ain't gonna lie.
- 17:31Almost threw it against the wall the other day. I got so mad.
- 17:35Like, I had to reset my whole algorithm.
- 17:39Because I was getting, like, the same videos over and over. Just not,
- 17:42you know, stuff I didn't want to see. And I'm just like, you know what?
- 17:46I can't even watch this no more.
- 17:50So peace of mind there is no price for peace of mind and you know they say more
- 17:57money more problems i don't know i don't have any money i would like to know
- 18:02one day but i'd like to find out yeah for sure you know what i'm saying,
- 18:08that, that what's, what's, what's really valuable.
- 18:12I guess it's the question I'm getting to is what's really valuable is your core
- 18:17family values, your, your, your moral values in the end. Is that more important?
- 18:24Does that carry more weight or does your worth carry more weight?
- 18:29And, and, and, and I, I guess that kind of decides what type of person you are.
- 18:35You know, if, if, if you're a person who
- 18:38you know your family and relationships
- 18:41and social justice and how
- 18:45you treat people and how others are treated if that
- 18:48means more to you then you fit in this category and if monetary value and just
- 18:57money and more more more more more more more if that's what you value and that's
- 19:02the type of person you want to be, you fit into this category.
- 19:05One of these categories are douchebags.
- 19:08I'll let y'all decide which one.
- 19:12I was talking to one of the kids this morning. We were talking about he was
- 19:17mentioning how some of his friends' point of view is really just their parents' point of view.
- 19:22And all of my kids and anybody around me knows that, yes, I preached what I felt in my home,
- 19:29but I also explained even at a young age
- 19:32the kids knew why I felt the way I felt it wasn't
- 19:35just yeah this is how we are as a family right this is how you're supposed to
- 19:39believe this is what you're supposed to believe this is what you're supposed
- 19:42to think because there are you know one or two of the kids that have differences
- 19:45of opinion on certain things the way I feel I'm more empathetic to certain things
- 19:49than one of the other kids and be like nah I don't nobody they don't get empathy for that.
- 19:55Whereas I feel differently. But I would never beat it upside his head.
- 20:00No. No, no. You need to feel this way.
- 20:03Or you're a jerk.
- 20:05No, you want to encourage people.
- 20:10Free thoughts, free thinking.
- 20:14What am I trying to say? Anyway, independent thought. That's it.
- 20:17You want to encourage independent.
- 20:19Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's been a long day, y'all. Forgive me.
- 20:23You want to encourage independent thought and you want your kids to make up
- 20:29their own mind when it comes to things, right?
- 20:31No one wants like a robot, what they call it, automaton. mind.
- 20:35Nobody wants that. You want them to be different, but you hope that the values
- 20:40that you try to instill in them somehow takes effect and has a little bit of
- 20:47sway in their decision making. And that's all you can hope for.
- 20:51You know what I'm saying? I mean, because in the end, they're going to be adults.
- 20:55At some point in their lives, they're going to be adults and
- 20:58you want them to be independent and not have
- 21:01to call on you or ask you
- 21:05for every little thing and what should I think about this make up
- 21:08your own mind yeah because I ain't got nothing yeah yeah yeah make up your own
- 21:11mind so so that's that's that's how we feel about value y'all I know it kind
- 21:16of seemed like we were disjointed and rambling but just take a step back you'll
- 21:22understand what we're trying to say so with that being said let's move into some current events,
- 21:27What you want to talk about as far as current events, bro?
- 21:29Oh, man, I want to talk about the 90,000 square foot ballroom.
- 21:36Have at it. A football field is 56,000 square feet.
- 21:41The last major retail store I worked at before they air quotes laid us off, fired everybody.
- 21:50That store was like 62,000 square feet.
- 21:54Massive. 90? The White House is less than 60,000 square feet.
- 22:00Who are you going to invite?
- 22:01What are you doing? What are you doing?
- 22:04Look you're never going to have that many people in there
- 22:07to fill that ballroom and i know it sounds like we just we say we're not going
- 22:11to be talking about politics all the time and so on and so forth but the disdain
- 22:17we have for this person is is it's hard not to talk about it but and i'm not even particularly a.
- 22:25Don't support the government no gung-ho no that's
- 22:29just no we are no but man to see
- 22:31an entire wing just get demolished just get demolished without the approval
- 22:38of anyone this is the people's house it's not your house dude what you're gonna
- 22:48do people's house you're gonna have all gold everything Right.
- 22:51You're going to have. I mean, just gold is gaudy. It was gaudy in the 90s when
- 22:56we wore it. It was gaudy in the 80s when we wore it.
- 22:58I feel like the people if if if if you're going to subvert Congress,
- 23:03I feel like before any bulldozer even pulled up on that street on 1600 Pennsylvania,
- 23:10the people should have had to say so.
- 23:12Because it's just like so what's
- 23:16next i and i mean like literally what's
- 23:19next if you're gonna let this dude come
- 23:22in and just destroy part of the white house a
- 23:25his story and and keep in mind y'all had
- 23:29a democrat done this republicans would
- 23:32be going the hell off it'll be on every channel all day every day they'd be
- 23:38trying to get somebody impeached that that part is the part that really is infuriating
- 23:45is the oh we what's the word i'm looking for now.
- 23:52Capitulation. I mean, they just let this dude do anything he freaking wants
- 23:57when a good portion of it is probably illegal.
- 24:01A good portion of it, they know they would not be this silent about if a Democrat was doing it.
- 24:07That's the part that's infuriating is just the blatant hypocrisy of it all.
- 24:12But my bad, because this is your current event. No, no, no. But I think another
- 24:16thing that, And I know I said 90,000 square feet.
- 24:19Now, realistically, they're not going to build a 90,000 square foot ballroom.
- 24:23You're just not. You're going to build a 30,000 square foot ballroom.
- 24:26You're going to build offices.
- 24:28You'll probably rebuild the historic theater that was there.
- 24:32But what he does is he makes it sound like he's going to build one big ballroom
- 24:35and tick people off and have all the rage.
- 24:39When in reality, it's something completely different.
- 24:43You know what I mean? Yeah. It's just it's rage baiting. For sure.
- 24:46It's what he does for sure so but at
- 24:49the same time like when they
- 24:52went when i saw pictures of like a wall being torn
- 24:55down i was like all right i mean whatever
- 24:58and then i didn't pay attention for like a whole
- 25:01day and looked up and saw satellite imagery it looks
- 25:05terrible the whole wing yeah it
- 25:08looks horrible bro right above the bunker and
- 25:11for what as well yeah yeah good
- 25:14point and and and and and and
- 25:17for what though no one wanted this except
- 25:20for you this is nothing but a vanity project this adds
- 25:24no value to the white house no value
- 25:27to the american people it's pointless he's liable god i hope somebody step in
- 25:34he's liable to make this completely different like it'll be like purple yeah
- 25:40or like he'll probably have a big trump logo on the outside of it. What's the limit, bro?
- 25:47What's when, when is enough enough? When do these bums go? All right,
- 25:53bro, you're doing too much.
- 25:56And down the White House, I think would... Because if I'm his homeboy... Bro, what?
- 26:04What you on right now? Everything that you do, I'm pulling you to the side going,
- 26:08hey, do you realize what you're doing?
- 26:11You sure you good at this? Before, bro, what? You really about to bulldoze part of the White House?
- 26:18Come on, man. Knock it off. Call me a plan. I'm going back home.
- 26:24I don't want no part of it. parts of that. You good on your current event, bro?
- 26:29Yep. Yep. All right. Well, I want to get into local current events, sort of local.
- 26:36Now, last podcast, we were talking about gerrymandering and voting in local
- 26:42elections and all of that good business.
- 26:44Are you aware, which it won't happen, but are you aware of these idiots in Illinois
- 26:50who are trying to move parts of Illinois to Indiana.
- 26:59In order to offset J.B. Prisker, who's trying to offset the governor in Texas
- 27:06with all of this gerrymandering stuff.
- 27:08It's so it's so crazy to me, bro. And it's just like how how how can you not
- 27:14say that you're trying to rig an election when you're sole purpose of wanting to join Indiana?
- 27:24Those however many counties, your sole purpose is to join Indiana so Indiana
- 27:29will get more Republican seats.
- 27:33That's just the bottom line, point blank, period.
- 27:37How can you not say it's a free and fair election at that point?
- 27:41And here's the stupid part.
- 27:43Some of the counties are on the west side of Illinois, not even close to the Indiana border.
- 27:50And then there's one that's up, not
- 27:54quite you know past Lafayette but it's
- 27:57one that sits all by itself a little
- 28:00further north and that's cool y'all want
- 28:02to come over here that's cool make Lake County part of Illinois yeah cool simple
- 28:07as that because if y'all moving these counties over here I'm moving back home
- 28:11right and I'll just be a part of Illinois so I got to deal with this nonsense
- 28:14right at the end of it right right the whole thing just freaking is just like.
- 28:23First of all, like the Supreme Court, they're they're the reason for all of
- 28:27this, because they could have put the the the kibosh on all of this. We just said no.
- 28:32But but all of this states rights mess and we're going to leave it up to them.
- 28:37It's just like, see what you started. Now, where does it end?
- 28:41So especially in the red states, because you're going to get I mean,
- 28:45we've got a ridiculous governor, even more ridiculous lieutenant governor.
- 28:49Bro there are
- 28:52two blue counties two marion
- 28:55and lake two blue counties that's it
- 28:58you got the whole state you got seven of the nine seats there's nothing left
- 29:06to gerrymander bro what i mean seriously do you want an all red state yep it's
- 29:10just like which will never happen well County and Lake County will,
- 29:14will, will never happen.
- 29:16But it's just like, there is no logic behind this other than you want to rig an election.
- 29:26That's all it is, which is why I'll reiterate, vote in local elections.
- 29:33It's so important, people.
- 29:35It's so important. The federal government cannot tell a governor or a state,
- 29:43let me put it like that, to redraw the maps.
- 29:46That is the governor's decision. It is a state process, period.
- 29:54Trump can call and say, hey, can you do this? All the governor has to say is no.
- 29:59There was a Republican here this morning. I forget his last name.
- 30:03That flat out came out and was like, no, I'm voting no. If there's ever a vote
- 30:08to redraw the districts, I'm voting no.
- 30:10Yeah. And that's my stance. He said that this morning.
- 30:14It's different if the population changes. Yeah. So then, you know, it expands.
- 30:21Sure. Let's have a look at that. Maybe this isn't being represented properly,
- 30:26but for the sole purpose of we want more house seats.
- 30:31No, absolutely. It shouldn't be allowed in Texas.
- 30:35It shouldn't be allowed in California. I get Gavin Newsom just trying to offset.
- 30:40It shouldn't be allowed in Ohio.
- 30:42It shouldn't be allowed in Indiana. It shouldn't be allowed in Illinois or anywhere else.
- 30:50Unless it's that time to do it. Right.
- 30:53And you have to have a valid reason, like a population change,
- 31:00a demographic change, not just the sole purpose of we want more seats in the house.
- 31:07But this is what, again, we were talking about political value and how people
- 31:12are just selling their souls.
- 31:14This is what we've devolved into.
- 31:17Do you value? We value Winnie. We don't value the rule of law.
- 31:21We don't value the people's opinions. Oh, the law and order president don't
- 31:25value the rule of law? What?
- 31:28My son, that's new to me. Ain't it, though? It's so weird, ain't it?
- 31:32Even though it's been going on since before you and I were born. Yeah.
- 31:35Think about that, dawg. He got his first lawsuit before we were born. Think about this, bro.
- 31:42You're the law and order president, but every time you get a ruling that's not
- 31:47in your favor, you want to appeal.
- 31:50If you're the law and order president, at that point, you're going to law spoken.
- 31:55Done. They didn't vote in my favor.
- 31:59It's a non-issue. No, I'm going to appeal.
- 32:02I'm going to move it up to the Supreme Court, which is totally feckless because
- 32:06they're completely partisan at this point.
- 32:09You're not the law and order president, dude. You're the law
- 32:12and president when it suits you when
- 32:16it doesn't suit you you don't give a shit about the
- 32:19law at all and and your
- 32:22actions prove it daily i had
- 32:26another current event but uh i'm just
- 32:28i'm getting i'm getting i'm getting so worked up on oh my
- 32:31my gosh man i think maybe we
- 32:34touched on it or maybe that was before we started record but
- 32:38the freaking boats being blown oh
- 32:42yeah and it's there's i
- 32:45mean call it what you want at the end of the day it's murder it's it's
- 32:48you're killing people in international waters without due process and i wouldn't
- 32:54care if this was biden clinton obama jimmy carter i don't care right what are
- 33:00you doing what are you doing because then if venezuela if uh If they launch
- 33:05some missiles at one of our ships,
- 33:07we'd be sitting around here going, I can't believe they did that. Really?
- 33:12There is no proof, one, that there were any drugs on any of these boats because
- 33:17you're basically blowing them to smithereens.
- 33:20There is no proof that any of these guys were drug dealers.
- 33:26There is no proof that they were even on their way to America because they're
- 33:31in international waters at that time.
- 33:35There is no proof of anything.
- 33:38And we're just supposed to take your word, believe you. Can you imagine a husband
- 33:43and a wife deciding to have a nice evening out to sea, go out there with a steak dinner?
- 33:49And get blown up. Drop anchor and get blown up.
- 33:52It's crazy. Because that's what's happening. It's crazy. It don't matter what
- 33:56type of boat you're taking.
- 33:58It's crazy. And, you know, I may be speaking out of turn or speaking crazy.
- 34:02No, none of it's crazy, though. But what's up with these dudes that's actually pressing the button?
- 34:07Well that's why the one dude quit last week because he's like I can't be a part of this but yeah,
- 34:16sir that's an unlawful order I'm not doing it and you can't be held accountable
- 34:21for that you can arrest me, you can throw me in the bridge but I'll beat it,
- 34:25I'm not about to kill some people and I don't even know what this is what's
- 34:30our evidence? what's the intel?
- 34:33And here's the really scary part.
- 34:36Coming to a city near you. That's the real scary part. Who's to say these fools
- 34:42just don't start killing people?
- 34:44He was this. He was that. No evidence. He was a drug dealer.
- 34:48He was Trendy Arague. He was MS-13. He was a terrorist.
- 34:54Ice is being basically turned into his own personal brown suit militia.
- 35:01So give him some time. I mean, hell, well, Stephen Miller said on whoever show
- 35:06he was on yesterday or whenever, he said that, he said, I want to make it clear.
- 35:10If you are ICE, you have federal immunity.
- 35:15Anyone, state, local, whoever gets in your way.
- 35:20Who gave him that power? He did, because he's really running the show.
- 35:23He is, but he said you have federal immunity.
- 35:27If anyone gets in your way to stop you from doing your job.
- 35:31Because, see, here's the problem, too, that I don't think a lot of people understand
- 35:34and should be talked about.
- 35:36Them police officers, whether it be Chicago, Portland, wherever,
- 35:39y'all live here. Right. They're going to leave eventually. Right.
- 35:43This is the community you patrol. Right. So now you have no trust in this community.
- 35:49Somebody kills somebody and you go knocking on doors, nobody going to talk to
- 35:53you because you didn't have our back.
- 35:55You weren't protecting your city. And I don't think people understand that.
- 35:59I can hear people now listening to this going, well, you know,
- 36:04they're the police. You should just, that's not how that works.
- 36:07The federal government just coming into a town telling local police officers,
- 36:11this is how it's going to be? Nah.
- 36:14Oh, boy, doesn't have the authority to say that he did, though.
- 36:18He can he can say it until he blew in the face. But until a judge says it. Yeah.
- 36:23It don't mean jack shit. What word does a judge have now? Yeah.
- 36:27But let's find out Tuesday or Monday when she ordered the head of the Border Patrol.
- 36:33You saw that the lady in Chicago, the judge. She ordered him to appear in court
- 36:36Monday morning at 10 a.m.
- 36:39Because he threw that, uh, that tear gas. OK. She ordered him to appear in court Monday.
- 36:45Let's see if he show up. Fantastic. Fantastic.
- 36:48The other thing I'm going to quickly touch on, the No Kings rally.
- 36:53It was great to see so many people support. Wouldn't it be a lot more meaningful
- 36:58if they were registering people to vote?
- 37:00I mean, just showing up and protesting and being angry, that's all well and
- 37:06good, but it's not enough.
- 37:08What did you really do to move the needle forward? report.
- 37:13Register people to vote. Next time you have a No Kings rally,
- 37:18register people to vote, please.
- 37:21Please. Don't just show up, be angry and then go home. That's not enough.
- 37:27I think the only angry people out there were the damn police.
- 37:30Well, yeah, that part. Everybody else was just marching and dressing up in silly
- 37:34costumes and whatnot, which is fine. I mean, that's going to sound condescending,
- 37:39but, you know, it's all tiring, man.
- 37:44Well, we're in extreme times, so in extreme times, we need extreme measures.
- 37:52So I say do it all.
- 37:55Whatever, whatever, no holds barred. Go for it.
- 38:00Without being violent, go for it. You know, whatever it takes, y'all.
- 38:05Whatever it takes without being violent, whatever it takes, you know. So no Kings rally.
- 38:12You know, the mayor in Chicago was talking about a general strike and people
- 38:16just keeping their money. Go for it.
- 38:18I don't know how realistic that is. You know, you're talking about people not going to their jobs.
- 38:23I don't know how realistic that is. I mean, people got bills to pay.
- 38:27You got a mortgage to pay.
- 38:28I don't know how much support you're going to get for something
- 38:31like that but i'm with the canceling the
- 38:34holidays thing man you already know how i feel
- 38:37about it yeah keep your money in your pocket yeah yeah keep
- 38:40your money in your pocket you want to put up a tree put up a tree whatever you
- 38:43have on hand already go ahead do your thing yeah yeah so i saw a lady made made
- 38:49a couple of good points online when she was talking about thanksgiving and christmas
- 38:53you know and spending all that extra money and she's like you know get your family together.
- 38:57Yep. But all that Black Friday, like you already got a house full of big screen TV. Yep.
- 39:02Yep. You already got a microwave. Yep. You already got an air fry. Yep. Yep.
- 39:06Right bro what you buying buying stuff that
- 39:09you absolutely don't need i bought me
- 39:12a new one so i'm gonna give this one so-and-so you could have just kept your
- 39:15old dude we got two tvs at the house just sitting there wow because from when
- 39:22they when moved back because i already got the one up front one in my room one
- 39:27was already on the wall and the other room and then they brought two more with them.
- 39:32We got a 50-inch and a 42-inch just sitting there.
- 39:37Imagine me going out and be like, yeah, I'm going to go ahead and grab this 80-inch. Right.
- 39:42Not because I need it, but just because. Because it's on sale.
- 39:46Hey, man, I'll never get it this price again.
- 39:50Okay. All right.
- 39:53Now you're trying to sell the other one and ain't nobody going to get you more
- 39:57than $300 for it because they can just go buy their own.
- 40:00That part so you can buy 70 inch now
- 40:02for like less than 500 that part right there that part you're trying to get
- 40:07rid of tv that you're gonna have to get rid of for 50 in order to sell it because
- 40:10anybody else like man i just go to the store and buy one give it to a neighbor
- 40:14give it to a relative you need a tv yep yep that part all right bro so uh let's get into our work,
- 40:21our rant about a random topic everyone's favorite segment what you want to write
- 40:27about bro or you want me to go yeah all right all right cool cool cool well
- 40:31because we're in the spooky season,
- 40:35even though i don't celebrate halloween or any holiday for that matter i'm gonna
- 40:40talk about something spooky or kind of spooky relatable put it like that you
- 40:45believe in witches no not at all.
- 40:50About people who practice witchcraft are they considered a witch and what do i mean by that,
- 40:57people who call themselves witches you
- 41:00know they charge their crystals in the moonlight all
- 41:04that type of business i just look at people like that and call them weird well
- 41:08they would say that they're witches though you know what i'm saying or or or
- 41:13or uh a voodoo a voodoo priestess or Or, you know, people who, you know,
- 41:22practice voodoo or hoodoo or whatever you do. To me, it's all boo-boo.
- 41:29But, you know, they would consider themselves to be witches, bro.
- 41:33So, do you, do you, do you, you don't, you say no? You're not a witch?
- 41:40Interesting. Interesting, bro. So, I actually have been inside of a voodoo store.
- 41:47Not because I was shopping, y'all. Not because I was curious.
- 41:51It's part of my job. I have to do it. I know exactly what story you're talking about. Yeah.
- 41:56And so it's like, yes, I'm with you.
- 42:00Generally speaking, I don't believe in any of that kind of stuff,
- 42:03but I think we have to acknowledge that these people exist, man.
- 42:09You know, they we were just saying about value. If they think that they're literally witches.
- 42:17I don't value that.
- 42:25Man.
- 42:30I don't know man it's where we're at though I guess
- 42:34like when people used to like when we were kids and of course we've mentioned
- 42:38it in a couple episodes before we lived through the whole satanic panic nonsense
- 42:43in the 80s and early 90s and you know people were just behaving and acting like
- 42:49hell we had primetime specials,
- 42:52for Gerardo for sure,
- 42:54talking about this type of stuff because parents was legitimately my parents
- 42:59weren't But legitimately worried about this stuff. You know how many times I've
- 43:04played with a Ouija board?
- 43:06A lot? Yes. Really? Yeah. I've never played with one.
- 43:11Just a board with something. And half the time, we was just making jokes and laughing.
- 43:18And you know what happened after that? We went to sleep. And then we woke up the next one.
- 43:24Bloody Mary wasn't in the mirror. I remember the Bloody Mary.
- 43:27Now, that scared the shit out of me. That shit is scary, bro.
- 43:30I think that was part of what made Candyman so scary because it sort of played
- 43:34on the whole Bloody Mary thing.
- 43:35Now, I know I sound like a hypocrite right now, but stuff like that,
- 43:39when we were kids, it was scary. Yeah.
- 43:43But people say, I'm going to put a hex on you. Go ahead.
- 43:47You say, no, it ain't going to happen. What about reading palms and psychic
- 43:53readings and all of that kind of stuff?
- 43:57Negative on that? I think especially when it comes to psychic,
- 44:01I mean, being someone who's addicted to true crime,
- 44:05I've seen so many cases with psychics step in and try to help And for the most
- 44:10part, they're literally stepping in to try to just help.
- 44:14But man, some of these cases like famous cases, you know, kids being kidnapped, so on and so forth.
- 44:19Some of these psychics come forward and just milk the police department,
- 44:24have them going all these different directions, putting their name out there, being on the news.
- 44:28What was the lady used to be on Montel Williams all the time?
- 44:31I know you're talking about, but I can't call her name.
- 44:33Sylvia something. Sylvia Brown or something like that. Like.
- 44:39You do some research on her you'd be like oh
- 44:42she's a con lady like dude
- 44:45she was so full of it and there's
- 44:47so many people that went after her and sued her
- 44:50for just all types of stuff but i but again it's like you said if they enjoy
- 44:57it and it keeps their mind free and it gives them something to do i'm never
- 45:02going to be outside of their store saying which go home because it's not of my business.
- 45:08But yeah, if you come trying to read my poems, I'm like, man,
- 45:11go somewhere with that nonsense.
- 45:12My whole thing is, especially with like mediums, how do you know that you're
- 45:18talking to whatever ancestor that they claim that they've conjured up? How do you know?
- 45:25And whatever you had to say to them, why didn't you say it to them?
- 45:29Say it when they were alive.
- 45:31What are you asking them? Hey, Okay.
- 45:35Where's that pot you had?
- 45:40I can't find my fathead screwdriver. What did you do with it before you passed?
- 45:45Remember that cast iron skill set you left?
- 45:47Well, one of the pots is missing. Yeah. Keep telling me who took it.
- 45:50Yeah. What are you really going to ask him?
- 45:54And if being dead is supposed to be a resting state, why in the hell are you bothering me?
- 46:03Leave me the hell alone. I'm not answering. Right. I ain't home. Right.
- 46:07Leave me the hell alone. I'm asleep. Leave me alone.
- 46:11Yeah. I'm not. That's that's funny. That's that's funny because I'm supposed to be resting.
- 46:17Yeah. You got somebody bothering me. Right.
- 46:20Right. Or supposedly bothering me because you don't know.
- 46:23Even if if you do, which I mean, I say this in the loosest terms,
- 46:29y'all, because I don't believe it either.
- 46:31But even if you do happen to conjure up a spirit, you have no idea who you're talking to.
- 46:39You have no idea that they have good intentions.
- 46:43None whatsoever. You could be conjuring up any anybody, anything, any.
- 46:52But first of all, you want to get in on this, bro? You got you got you got you
- 46:56got to work because I don't go ahead.
- 46:59I ain't gonna stop it. all right so true story my grandmother which we called
- 47:05her madir so the whole tyler perry thing wasn't new on me the whole i know exactly
- 47:09what that meant we called my grandmother madir,
- 47:12but she would always tell us that sort of like the sixth sense little boy she
- 47:18could see dead people they uh i watched that again the other day by the way
- 47:23great great great freaking movie But yeah,
- 47:26she called it being born with a veil on her face.
- 47:30That's some down South, like I said, hoodoo, voodoo, you do, whatever.
- 47:35So she always claimed that she could see dead people.
- 47:41It's like why are you telling me this i'm seven i now i gotta go in here and sleep in this room,
- 47:47and it's dark as hell i don't i don't want to hear yeah
- 47:50because when you're at your grandparents house ain't no leaving no light on yeah i
- 47:53don't want to hear all this and then she had like those old
- 47:57the oh i forget the the famous uh she was a female artist painting the the the
- 48:03people with the really big eyes you know what paintings i'm talking about and
- 48:08the artists i'm talking about it was like really popular she had like some of
- 48:12those spooky well to me they were spooky anyway,
- 48:15paintings like on the walls and stuff and just like these white people with
- 48:19these big old eyes and it just like happy halloween y'all psych.
- 48:29Hey but that's a true story though she did used to say that and it's just like,
- 48:36Did you or was it all just something to talk about? You know what I'm saying?
- 48:42It is just is it's kind of interesting, but at the same time,
- 48:47you remember them all them down south stories. Yeah.
- 48:51If you're supposed to be in a resting state, what are you doing up walking around?
- 48:57Yada, yada, yada, yada. You know, it's just like now you're supposed to be dead.
- 49:01You're supposed to be. I felt bad for Patrick Swayze. man got killed couldn't
- 49:05even couldn't even rest had to solve his own murder had to solve it had to go
- 49:08fight and kill this boy and man all kind of stuff just a terrible terrible afterlife man no rest.
- 49:20Also a great movie yes i also bring
- 49:23that up because as you know we talked about it what last
- 49:27week mm-hmm do you know that's all that's
- 49:29been on my algorithm on youtube i have to say i haven't
- 49:32reached i ain't looked up nothing about patrick swayze but
- 49:36then ghost pulls up on my youtube like he's listening to you oh but that ain't
- 49:40the first time that i get so much i guarantee you something on my youtube algorithm
- 49:44over the next two or three days is gonna come up about something we talked about
- 49:48that's weird bro it's it's strange but i mean we've we've given in to these devices,
- 49:55they say that they're always listening that's why i've never had a lexa bro
- 50:00but the thing is right now well me either but like right now we got the mic
- 50:04on yeah we got this plugged into the ipad right it's listening right because
- 50:10we're talking exactly so it's definitely interesting interesting,
- 50:15all right that's all that's all
- 50:16i got for a right bro uh you got you got anything you want to write about?
- 50:21Nah, that would be like another 45 minutes. You sure, bro? Yeah.
- 50:26Alright, alright, cool, cool, cool. Alright, I guess we're gonna move on to
- 50:30our next topic then, which is five on the blackhand side.
- 50:35You got what you watched recently oh man
- 50:39see i watched to be moved i have not watched any to be movies oh my goodness
- 50:44uh i've i've i've recently watched him but you still haven't seen him yet have
- 50:51you no okay um so i don't i don't i won't i won't talk about that and i watched uh,
- 50:57one battle after another i watched that recently y'all so that's right yeah
- 51:00we did both both Both movies are good, but you still haven't seen that one either,
- 51:04right? Okay, so we won't talk about those either.
- 51:07Oh, man, let's go with a classic again, man. Let's go with Baby Boy.
- 51:13Oh, baby boy. Baby boy. Starring Tyrese and Ving Rhames and AJ Johnson.
- 51:22And was this our introduction to Taraji? Was this our first,
- 51:26like, breakout role? I think breakout role, yeah.
- 51:30Yeah, yeah. The other gooding brother. No, I ain't going to do it. No, man. Omar.
- 51:35Hey, I like Omar more than I like Cuba. And they ain't even going to mix words on that.
- 51:43You know, I didn't realize how far apart they were.
- 51:47In age? Like 16 years. Oh, really?
- 51:49Yeah. I didn't know that. He did an interview and they were talking to him about
- 51:53something with his brother.
- 51:54He said, man, by the time I was coming of age, my brother was already grown,
- 51:58making movies and long gone out the house.
- 52:01He's like, I didn't grow up with my brother. Interesting. I didn't know that.
- 52:04Me either. They did not grow up together. I did not know that either.
- 52:08There so what is baby boy
- 52:11about i mean shoot the name says
- 52:14it all but i think that i think the
- 52:17movie got a bad rap so it's basically him doing a bunch of we got two two women
- 52:24pregnant yeah no job side hustles coming of age story for for for for a young
- 52:31black male because you and i both know plenty of dudes who lived that life growing up. For sure.
- 52:37Which I think why it resonated so much. Because I'm like, oh,
- 52:40that's such and such. For sure.
- 52:43Him and his buddy going out, getting revenge on somebody in the movie, on Snoop's character.
- 52:51I forgot. How did I not mention Snoop? Snoop's character finally having a breakthrough
- 52:58moment with his mother's boyfriend.
- 53:00Great scenes between him and Ving Raines, man. Taking that gun from him.
- 53:05That was real. Yeah. That was so real.
- 53:09Yeah. Yeah. I like, to be honest, I thought, I mean, no diss to Tyrese.
- 53:17I thought he was kind of a punk.
- 53:18But Omar killed that role, bro. Omar and Ving Rhames. But Omar killed that role, bro.
- 53:27Yeah. Tyrese's character was more like a straddling in between. Yeah.
- 53:33A tough guy. Because he wasn't no punk. Yeah.
- 53:36But at the same time, he had his moments. He wasn't a gangster.
- 53:39He wasn't no killer. Right. Right. Until he was.
- 53:43But when... Wait. No, he wasn't.
- 53:47Mm-mm-mm. Tyrese didn't kill Snoop.
- 53:51He didn't kill him. What you mean? Omar Gooden killed him. Oh,
- 53:55yeah, but he was shooting, too.
- 53:58But remember, he told him, finish him. Yeah. And he hesitated.
- 54:01And then Omar Gooden was just like, pop, pop, pop, pop. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 54:05But oh, yeah, the shooting part, though, yeah. Yeah, I think Tyrese just shot
- 54:09him in the leg. He was like, blah!
- 54:11He just shot him in the leg. So as great as that movie, I can't meet.
- 54:15This is just me because I pay attention to stuff like this.
- 54:19We also have to go back to how horrible Snoop was in that movie as an actor.
- 54:28Rodney. But we also got to do the funniest scene.
- 54:32When he got up and kicked that little boy's fort over I laughed so hard.
- 54:39And the reason I've done it because I've gotten mad at my kids and kicked the
- 54:42fort or two over. Get these damn pillows up.
- 54:50Oh man yeah i think that
- 54:53movie showed the world just how skinny snoop was
- 54:56he had on that wife beater it was like man
- 54:59this dude is a skeleton but i was very shocked and of course that's when that
- 55:05movie came out when i was still married so we watched that movie like crazy
- 55:09just like love and basketball you know those types of movies we watched all
- 55:14the time but baby boy I enjoy it.
- 55:17Dude, I like Baby Joy. Look, I like Baby Boy way more than I like Boys in the Hood.
- 55:23And I don't even think they're close.
- 55:26You know, I like the father and son dynamic between Tyrese and Ving Range,
- 55:34even though it was mostly a confrontational relationship.
- 55:40Adversarial relationship, I guess is a better word. I still...
- 55:45Like, being Reigns in a roundabout way, teaching him how to be a man.
- 55:52Like, you need to grow up, dude. Like, what you on right now, this ain't it.
- 55:57Like, that ain't grown man business that you're handling.
- 56:01Like, you're still a little boy. Like, come on. Come on, man.
- 56:04Like, I can't help you unless you let me.
- 56:09And seemingly kind of getting through to him at the end. Yeah.
- 56:12You know when he rolled up we left out his mother's house
- 56:14and started playing i forget the song that was on and he was like you don't
- 56:18know nothing about that yeah yeah yeah rams and this boy i think it was could
- 56:22it be all falling in love i think i think that was the song but yeah but yeah
- 56:27man it's a it's a it's a scene bro when uh before they start selling the dresses i think.
- 56:35And him and Omar just at the little swap meet, strip mall, whatever, and they talking.
- 56:42And Omar say something like real aggressive.
- 56:46And Tyrese jumped back, dude. And I'm like, did he not know?
- 56:51Like they didn't rehearse. Like, did he not know he was going to say that or
- 56:54what? He jumped back like dude was about to smack him or something.
- 56:57I'm just like, oh, wow. I think that was like a genuine moment caught on film
- 57:01where he didn't know he was going to snap that hard.
- 57:05Them fools in that park. When he was socking him? I said, no,
- 57:09man, you got to get it like this. Wow.
- 57:13He said, you mean to tell me this little dude's teeth is harder than your fist? Hit him again.
- 57:21Then he took his belt off, started whooping him. He was like,
- 57:23oh, you got some heart. He was like, all right, then. He pulled his belt off,
- 57:26started whooping him. Yeah, man.
- 57:29Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, man.
- 57:32P? Between P? And Veen Reigns, those were my favorite characters in that whole movie, man.
- 57:40Like, even when he got into it with his girlfriend and her mama.
- 57:45Y'all want me gone? Forget it, I'm out of here. I'm leaving.
- 57:49He came right back. Man, I love y'all.
- 57:52Yeah, yeah, I remember. Okay, yeah, yeah. I love y'all. I love your daughter.
- 57:57I love y'all. The dynamic with them was crazy. Yeah.
- 58:02I ain't got nowhere else to go, y'all. All my family. I love y'all.
- 58:06I'm like, yeah, that, that's, that's, that's. Hey, we do some cats like that
- 58:10too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was, it was.
- 58:14Opinion, and this is probably why I like it more than Boys in the Hood.
- 58:19Baby Boy was more genuine depiction
- 58:22of young black males and what they go through than Boys in the Hood.
- 58:27I feel like Boys in the Hood had a couple of fantastic scenarios in it.
- 58:35And I'm not saying it couldn't happen.
- 58:37It was just like, most of the time, it ain't going down like that.
- 58:41That's kind of like with Friday. you know minus the shootout scene
- 58:45and whatnot chilling on the porch yeah
- 58:48you know how many times i done sat on the
- 58:50porch how much sillies 13 14 hours
- 58:54go by and it's it's two people then it's five people right then you got a couple
- 58:59people in the yard remember they were slap boxing right that used to happen
- 59:02all the time right people slap box and then somebody make a run to the stoke
- 59:06yeah some food yeah somebody runs the state line to the liquor store yeah Yeah,
- 59:11that was every day for us.
- 59:14Off topic, but two movies that I give credit to, no matter how bad they were,
- 59:23just for the pure genius of the marketing and the budget.
- 59:28Friday, because like you said, the whole movie basically on the front porch.
- 59:32If it's not on the front porch, it's on the block. They never leave the block.
- 59:37They didn't spend no money to make Friday. But you want to know what my all-time favorite?
- 59:44The original Blair Witch Project.
- 59:50Genius. We can go outside right now and run through the woods in the back of
- 59:56my house and make Blair Witch Project and spend no money.
- 1:00:02Never have to show the monster.
- 1:00:05Just pretend to be scared. I'm like, this is freaking genius.
- 1:00:08Now, I think the movie sucked, but I'm like, but this is genius.
- 1:00:12And the thing is, too, is that this was before social media.
- 1:00:14So if you watched it and you weren't like, let's just say,
- 1:00:19abreast to everything that was going on and you just watch it you're like
- 1:00:22yo yeah what happened to them it's like
- 1:00:25oh that's just a movie yeah but they did try
- 1:00:28and market it as a true story though which i think kind of misleading and but
- 1:00:33but still i think what it made like a billion dollars or something like that
- 1:00:36i don't know if it made that much but it made a lot of money and they probably
- 1:00:40spent what 10 15 grand to make that and i ain't gonna lie like when i first
- 1:00:44saw it i was intrigued i'm like yo this is crazy.
- 1:00:48Genius but we got way off top we supposed to be talking about baby boy sorry
- 1:00:53y'all so yeah like I said baby boy starring Tyrese, Ving Rhames Taraji P. Henson A.J.
- 1:01:02Johnson, Snoop Dogg Omar Gooding very good coming of age movie about young black
- 1:01:08males and the hardships they go through just,
- 1:01:11trying to make it you know in that what say probably what 18 to probably what 20,
- 1:01:1622, 23 age you know what i'm saying so so
- 1:01:19yeah go go go check it out john singleton
- 1:01:23is the uh writer director was what no
- 1:01:26shaft was his last movie wasn't okay so his second second
- 1:01:29to last movie probably yep okay okay cool cool cool so yeah you got a little
- 1:01:35time go check out uh baby boy you want to get his bro how many high fives on
- 1:01:40the black hand side two all right two high fives on the backhand side for Baby Boy.
- 1:01:47And if you're confused on where to find Baby Boy, just turn on BET on the weekend, I'm sure.
- 1:01:53Hey, for a stretch there, you're right. It was on every weekend,
- 1:01:58bro. I remember one time just going through channels.
- 1:02:00I was like, damn, Baby Boy, didn't I just go through here yesterday?
- 1:02:04I'm like, Baby Boy was on yesterday. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:07Honestly, other than other than Marcellus in Pulp Fiction.
- 1:02:14This might be my favorite Ving Rhames performance.
- 1:02:19Me. So yeah, Marcellus, and I don't think you've seen it yet, Holiday Heart.
- 1:02:26No, I haven't seen it. Where he was the drag queen? I've never watched it.
- 1:02:31Really? Oh, that movie's great. Now, my wife has seen it, and she was telling
- 1:02:35me, and she says like real touching, like crazy emotional.
- 1:02:39Oh, yeah. At the end of the movie, if you ain't doing this a couple times,
- 1:02:42wipe us some tears. No, that movie is great. Okay, all right. And funny.
- 1:02:47Okay. All right. I have to check that out.
- 1:02:50All right. So we're going to leave that there for now and move right into our closing monologue.
- 1:02:56My brother, take it away. Thank you.
- 1:02:59All right. So we talked about it a little earlier about the ballroom and whatnot.
- 1:03:05So Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Palantir, I believe that's the way you say it,
- 1:03:11and T-Mobile are all helping to fund this ballroom at the White House.
- 1:03:16I can't help but ask why. These are not acts of generosity. They are investments.
- 1:03:23Big tech does not just hand over millions of dollars without expecting something in return.
- 1:03:28And let's be real. Palantir alone has pulled in 800 million in federal contracts
- 1:03:34this year, and now they're cutting a check for the White House.
- 1:03:38It's not charity. Charity, it's strategy.
- 1:03:41Google's YouTube is donating $22 million, and I'm using air quotes.
- 1:03:46It's being billed as a charity But it's actually tied to a legal settlement
- 1:03:51After YouTube banned Trump's account
- 1:03:53Back in whatever year it was It's a transaction dressed up as a charity.
- 1:04:00Problem is, is this blurs the line between public service and private interests.
- 1:04:04The people's house, our house, shouldn't be built or beautified by corporations
- 1:04:08who will eventually use it to buy favor or influence.
- 1:04:12Because once you let the money in the door, you can bet it'll start whispering
- 1:04:16in the ears of the policymakers.
- 1:04:18Even if it's legal, it's unethical.
- 1:04:21It erodes trust and it sends a message that power in America isn't earned by public service.
- 1:04:26It's purchased by corporate checkbooks. at
- 1:04:30the end of the day this ballroom isn't just a room it's a symbol
- 1:04:33and right now it looks like less like democracy and more like a business deal
- 1:04:38that's it brother that's all you got yep all right cool that was excellent i
- 1:04:43enjoyed and i agree 110 percent all right y'all well that's our.

- 1:05:14All right. I said we're trying to we're trying to get there.
- 1:05:18I mean, for us right now, this is just a I don't want to say sentimental value.
- 1:05:26But for us, it's just sentimental value.
- 1:05:28But damn it, we eventually want to get to some monetary value.
- 1:05:32So come on, y'all. We can't do it without y'all. You know what I'm saying?
