- 1:10If you are a regular listener, welcome back.
- 1:14Let me introduce myself. I am Christine Campbell Rappin.
- 1:16I'm a business mentor, sometimes known as the professional ass
- 1:20kicker, who will help you build predictable client growth.
- 1:25Guys, the key to there is predictable and I want to add
- 1:29positive, which means you can write your own paycheck.
- 1:32You can know what to focus on, how to be effective at it, and
- 1:37to do that with simple systems. And if you don't have systems to
- 1:41create better results, what the heck are you doing?
- 1:44My friends? You're better than that Get the
- 1:46systems, build the craft, and let's go.
- 1:50So the first thing I hear from someone who comes into our
- 1:56ecosystem is that they spend hours in one to one meetings or
- 2:03hours on social media content and they hear crickets.
- 2:09They're really busy and they might take that with a grain of
- 2:13salt, might be getting some level of applause or visibility,
- 2:19but there's still left going. Bothers the clients that's you
- 2:26this episodes for you. Make sure you save it, listen to
- 2:30it, implement it and advocate around it.
- 2:33So let's just be clear that there's two different types of
- 2:40people that you will engage with, those that are curious and
- 2:45those that are committed. And there's a vast difference in
- 2:50between and you need to clock, measure, track who you talking
- 2:56to so you know what step to take next.
- 3:00And you have to have a game plan to have a next step.
- 3:03We've said this here on our show, but it's important to say
- 3:06it again. People are highly distracted,
- 3:12and truthfully, all distractions are equal.
- 3:16So we have to be intentional with our leadership around
- 3:20moving somebody, inviting somebody and not getting in our
- 3:24heads about silence means that they don't want something or I'm
- 3:28expensive or blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 3:32It's just a distraction. Stop the chatter, but we need to
- 3:37recognize where people are at and let's tackle that today.
- 3:44So when somebody is interested, it means they're curiosity has
- 3:49been stirred and that is a great result.
- 3:55Our number one job in marketing is to stir curiosity.
- 4:00If we do not stir curiosity, we are ineffective at the goal.
- 4:07So check yourself here. But interest doesn't mean that
- 4:13you have a buyer. It just means intrigue is
- 4:17happening. And there was some statistics
- 4:19many years ago, which are still appropriate today, that were
- 4:22shared. Clients have a buying journey.
- 4:27They go from curious, interested, committed,
- 4:33implementing. And for you, you have to
- 4:37understand that we as business owners must curate that process.
- 4:42I had a fun conversation with a client of mine, her name is
- 4:44Laura. She's been with me about 8
- 4:46months and work through a couple of our different group programs
- 4:49building her new business. She had been successful as a
- 4:53chief marketing officer, but she realized that was not the path
- 4:56that she wanted to continue with.
- 4:57And we've been building a different business with her.
- 4:59And she said what is fascinating to me now and why I have
- 5:02confidence I'm controlling the game.
- 5:05I'm directing what I do and I know what to do, when to do, why
- 5:08to do it, how to do it. Is for this simple reality and
- 5:13result. I understand my clients journey
- 5:17that I want to take them on. I'm intentional with moving
- 5:20people and guys, that's the game because Google told us because
- 5:26they have the big bucks to spend on research that on average a
- 5:30future client will spend 7 to 20 touch points on research before
- 5:37they make a committed decision. So that's why you got to
- 5:40remember that interest isn't the same as income.
- 5:44And we have to have a strategy that keeps our ask on, that
- 5:50keeps them moving in a highly distracted environment.
- 5:56But Laura said I'm winning because I get it.
- 5:59I'm moving. And my job every week when we
- 6:02meet with her is to help her fine tune and condense the time
- 6:07between interest and the income. But there are two vastly
- 6:12different phases. So let's talk about what we do
- 6:15with interest. Interest is curiosity and it's
- 6:20very nature. And our job is to validate, to
- 6:24vet and to determine are these people who are interested
- 6:30potential buyers. And once we know they're
- 6:33potential buyers, we have to determine the proximity to the
- 6:37income. And we are using our judgment,
- 6:40our opinion, our track record and our curiosity and our
- 6:44listening skills. But our job is to say, why are
- 6:48we here? When we take action, whether we
- 6:52are in communication and dialogue and conversation or
- 6:55whether we're using technology and tools, when somebody takes a
- 6:59move on the chess board, our job is to say what caused it?
- 7:05What stirred curiosity for you and to determine what's really
- 7:10going on because we have to break that decision into buyer
- 7:17or non buyer. And let's just recap here
- 7:19because you're spending time in one to ones go go nowhere
- 7:24because you're not talking to buyers.
- 7:26You're talking to people who potentially are simply curious.
- 7:29But buyers have three things going on.
- 7:32You've heard this many times. Let's bear it down.
- 7:34Let's put this as a posted note in our workspaces so we don't
- 7:38lose track of this because the moment lose track of it we waste
- 7:41time but the wrong people and the tire kickers.
- 7:45But buyers number one know they have a problem.
- 7:49So if you've stirred curiosity for somebody, part of what you
- 7:52should be ascertaining and asking around is why are we
- 7:56here? What problem did you hear and
- 7:59what made you curious about what I do, how I do it, the results
- 8:04we get for clients and how it could apply to you.
- 8:07But there were problem that they know about.
- 8:09So we need to get crystal clear what's the problem as they see
- 8:13it, the person wearing communication with the potential
- 8:17fire, or the potential person who's simply curious #2 buyers
- 8:24have a gap. They want a different outcome.
- 8:28And that outcome has to be marginally better, incrementally
- 8:32better than the current reality. And if the game is more than
- 8:35marginal, it becomes a bigger value proposition.
- 8:41I have a bigger gain for my investment.
- 8:42The bigger gain from the investment, the more smart money
- 8:45decision it is, More logical it is, the more we see it as a good
- 8:50plausible choice we could make. Doesn't mean we make it, but the
- 8:54theory is there, the logic is there, but the third thing that
- 8:58the buyer must be is committed. Committed to moving, moving
- 9:05toward their incremental improved outcome.
- 9:10And if there's zero commitment, they are not a buyer.
- 9:15And trust me, the most frustrating thing that you might
- 9:19feel as a business owner is when you can see they have a problem,
- 9:22which they recognize. They can see the gain and don't
- 9:27choose to move, but it happens all the time so expect that.
- 9:37However, they also know when someone keeps their comfort
- 9:41zone. When someone stays in the
- 9:43current pattern that is not serving them with a known
- 9:45problem. It is their norm, but it's also
- 9:48still an opportunity because there will come a day, something
- 9:52will happen that will draw a line in the sand where they say
- 9:55I can't stay here and I must move.
- 9:58And you want to be top of mind. You need to be in a relationship
- 10:03with somebody to invite and ask them to bet on themselves with
- 10:08you as a person in their success plan.
- 10:13But guys, when you're saying I'm curious, interest is an income
- 10:18and our job is to say why are you interested?
- 10:21Do you know you have a problem? Are you seeking to improve the
- 10:25outcome, the lived experience of that problem and are you
- 10:28committed? And if we haven't done this, I'm
- 10:33gonna make a bold statement. Sit down, buttercup, and then
- 10:36make a bold statement here. You're being lazy and
- 10:40ineffective and doing more of that is insane because you're
- 10:45going to keep spending time in interested people who are not
- 10:49buyers. Stop it.
- 10:52And if you don't know how to shift here, you really do need
- 10:55to come have a conversation with us.
- 10:57Because solving this problem where people go from one to ones
- 11:00that go nowhere to 1 to ones that are successfully leading to
- 11:04introductions and clients is what we do every day.
- 11:07We solve that problem. We help our clients solve this
- 11:10problem. And if you're listening and
- 11:12you're not prepared to solve this, I don't know what we're
- 11:14doing here. So make the call.
- 11:17Christine Campbell, wrapping.com is how you connect to us.
- 11:21We've got to solve this problem for you.
- 11:25But once we have interest and we have determined somebody is a
- 11:28buyer, that is when we start to continue momentum towards the
- 11:33offer. And this is how I like to play
- 11:36it. So this is how we play it.
- 11:37So you know, step behind the scenes here.
- 11:40If you encounter us and we talk and have a conversation, you
- 11:43will see us working this system of ascertaining.
- 11:48Are you our next client? So we have interest.
- 11:53We've created movement. We've invited you.
- 11:55We've emboldened you, invited it to take action.
- 11:59Every action take step shows us buying behavior.
- 12:05So for us the most common way is we speak, you listen, I invite
- 12:12you take action, and we keep repeating that dance.
- 12:18You might come from an event to a resource to a conversation to
- 12:22another event, to another conversation, to our programs
- 12:26and services and a potential strategy call.
- 12:29That length of time can be one shot.
- 12:32It could be a cycle that repeats for years before you're ready,
- 12:37committed to the known problem and you want that result because
- 12:41it's become non negotiable. But here's what happens.
- 12:45We're asking the questions, Why are we here?
- 12:48What problem do you think you have?
- 12:50What's the gain do you think you need?
- 12:52Why don't you have it? What?
- 12:54What needs to be in place for you to be committed?
- 12:57How do you set yourself up for success and what are you
- 13:02prepared to do to have that? And we really have a frank
- 13:06conversation around it because for us to make an offer, we have
- 13:12to be sure interest isn't just entertainment.
- 13:17It is intent to implement. And that's the key.
- 13:21If you want to talk about where income lies, where client growth
- 13:26is generated, it comes down to I'm ready to implement.
- 13:30I'm not just Eddie ready to write notes and to listen and to
- 13:34learn and to be inspired. I am ready to do the work.
- 13:40I'm ready to do the steps that you're indicating are result
- 13:45driven. Effectively, I am implementing
- 13:49and so we're always asking that question, Are you ready to take
- 13:54action? And I know 100% of the time that
- 13:59you're human and you have access to me, which is something a lot
- 14:03of mentors don't give. You have direct access to me as
- 14:06clients, and I'm going to be there to help you implement.
- 14:10And that partnership that we form creates accelerated
- 14:16results. It creates accelerated results,
- 14:21my friends, but there's a big difference to the interest and
- 14:29the intention to implement. And I think you need to check
- 14:34who you're talking to because here's also what I see.
- 14:39You're in one to one conversations, whether you're
- 14:43networking, whether you're speaking, whether you're using
- 14:46technology to create this buyer interest that's uncertain at the
- 14:52early stages. You need to be really clear.
- 14:56Are they buyers? Do they have a problem?
- 14:58Do they have a gain that they seek?
- 15:00Do they have commitment? Because too many times your
- 15:05whole day is spent in one to one meetings with low intent to
- 15:10implement people. And my friends, that is just a
- 15:16gigantic waste of time and your time is the most valuable thing
- 15:20you have. So you have to understand and
- 15:25quickly learn the skills to assess and to be acting as
- 15:32triage. Who gets access to you and what
- 15:37conversation are we having? Are you in the right rooms?
- 15:44Are you talking to people who are curious or are ready to
- 15:48implement? Are you asking what stage
- 15:51they're at? Do you have an intentional
- 15:54strategy that moves somebody from I'm curious to I'm ready
- 15:58and here's what is through all of this, you must lead the
- 16:05conversation. Likely you were a participant in
- 16:11the one to one being booked, but are you leading what the outcome
- 16:18is that you seek? Are you leading a next step?
- 16:21Are you managing this dance? Are you planning and thinking
- 16:26about the human experiences? High distraction and a truthful
- 16:31recognition that if somebody is simply curious, they're a
- 16:36someday client. You need to ask with language
- 16:40towards the Are you ready to implement?
- 16:42What needs to be there? What does success look like?
- 16:46Who do you need with you and when is the perfect time to go?
- 16:52Recognizing that you won't have 100% at the table, but for every
- 16:58conversation, I wanna invite you to be more effective because I
- 17:05know there are decision makers every single day.
- 17:12There are people ready to implement.
- 17:15And if you wanna create stability in your business and
- 17:17you wanna create consistent client growth and you wanna get
- 17:20off the roller coaster of unpredictable income, we have to
- 17:25be sure, number one, we're in front of more people who are
- 17:28ready to implement #2 we need to be really intentional with our
- 17:32asks and move people through our buying journey, our customer
- 17:39journey so that when people are ready, we are right in front of
- 17:43them. Top of mind, leading the
- 17:45conversation, making the bold ask and saying is today the day?
- 17:49Is today the day that you solved the problem?
- 17:55Well, I want to ask you that because if you're listening
- 17:58today, you want more business. I know that for certain.
- 18:03I know you've got skills and capabilities, that's for
- 18:07certain. My question is, if you want to
- 18:11move to predictable income, what does it take?
- 18:17How do we shift you? How do we build this muscle so
- 18:21that you spend people's time with the fastest path to
- 18:26creating big ripples and big income.
- 18:30This is amplifier marketing message.
- 18:32I am Christine Campbell Rappin and if you are curious and ready
