- 0:04Speaker 2: Pods Media Network.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Hello, and welcome to b F Y t W the
- 0:41Speaker 3: Funny Old People episode.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I like that.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Ah yeah yeah, there's funny old people and all sorts
- 0:50Speaker 3: of things, primarily like I think the show that showcased
- 0:53Speaker 3: them the best was obviously The Golden Girls. We've already
- 0:57Speaker 3: done a Golden Girls episode, but we enjoyed having on
- 0:59Speaker 3: Lace so much that we want to do and them back.
- 1:02Speaker 3: We are already regretting it, but they're still here. And
- 1:07Speaker 3: welcome the Onliye podcast. It's Aaron, Gina and Kristen. Hi, guys.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Bye.
- 1:16Speaker 3: So this episode is going to kind of be Golden
- 1:19Speaker 3: Girls adjacent, but it's more focused just generally on funny
- 1:22Speaker 3: old people and funny old people characters, and it's particularly
- 1:27Speaker 3: prevalent for me. The thing that I'm gonna ask you
- 1:30Speaker 3: all by way of introduction, the question is going to
- 1:32Speaker 3: be what makes you feel old? And I will start.
- 1:35Speaker 3: My birthday is coming up. I'm turning forty five, holy shit,
- 1:41Speaker 3: and my birthday always, always, always, always makes me feel old.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Now ever since about thirty nine, I think is when
- 1:48Speaker 3: I started.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Feeling old that's fair, but.
- 1:52Speaker 3: It just gets worse. You're on, and you're on, it
- 1:56Speaker 3: never gets any better. Just once.
- 1:57Speaker 5: I'd like to see number tick the other way.
- 2:00Speaker 6: It works that way, man.
- 2:03Speaker 3: But yeah, And in reference to someone asked if I
- 2:06Speaker 3: had a date, I when I leave here, I'm going
- 2:08Speaker 3: straight to the birthday party with my parents. So I
- 2:11Speaker 3: actually do have kind of a date. But yeah, that's
- 2:13Speaker 3: that's my whole deal. So we haven't figured out teams.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Should we just do on the line I versus the
- 2:20Speaker 3: Dream Team?
- 2:22Speaker 4: Sure it works, all right, rematch in there by today?
- 2:28Speaker 3: No, Wednesday?
- 2:29Speaker 4: Wednesday?
- 2:30Speaker 5: Tuesday?
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yes, well done, eleventh nice drive Wednesday.
- 2:36Speaker 5: Yes, Wednesday. You have the day right exactly.
- 2:38Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, that's crazy, real fast.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Yeah, well, Kristin knew better.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Than you on Wednesday.
- 2:46Speaker 7: I think I looked it up, like now, you know
- 2:49Speaker 7: what my dad's is Tuesday. That's why I was thinking Tuesday,
- 2:52Speaker 7: because the day before you. That's how I know your birthday.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Well, we'll start in order of I guess the the
- 3:00Speaker 3: way we have you arranged in zoom call and start
- 3:02Speaker 3: with Gina, Hi, Gina, Hi, Hello, Hello, welcome. And is
- 3:07Speaker 3: there one specific thing that makes you feel old?
- 3:12Speaker 4: Yes? Thursday night, I was driving home from somewhere and
- 3:17Speaker 4: I got caught up in traffic from a high school's graduation.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Oh.
- 3:21Speaker 4: It made me go, oh, those kids are kind of
- 3:24Speaker 4: just starting in life. And I remember when I had
- 3:26Speaker 4: my graduation in my whole life ahead. I mean, it
- 3:29Speaker 4: really like set me into a spiral. I'd oh no,
- 3:35Speaker 4: oh no, that from some traffic that sucks.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Yeah. I went to a college graduation recently that had
- 3:42Speaker 3: the same effect.
- 3:45Speaker 5: So yeah, like, if I.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Could go back, could be better. Yeah, I probably wouldn't be,
- 3:50Speaker 4: but I want to.
- 3:52Speaker 3: All right, Well, thanks Gina, and next up it's Aaron
- 3:55Speaker 3: hi Erin.
- 3:56Speaker 7: Hi Aaronay, I'm good him good.
- 4:01Speaker 3: So same question. Is there like one specific thing that
- 4:03Speaker 3: you can think of that makes you feel old?
- 4:06Speaker 7: Yeah, heartburn. I have a total intolerance Jack Daniels, Now,
- 4:10Speaker 7: so it's.
- 4:14Speaker 8: Sauce.
- 4:16Speaker 3: It's the worst. And acid tablets are my friend. Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 7: Favorite flavor of Tom's. By the way, I like the
- 4:25Speaker 7: berries and cream.
- 4:26Speaker 4: What do you like?
- 4:26Speaker 3: Oh? Interesting, I like just the plain white one.
- 4:30Speaker 1: You know, chocolate.
- 4:34Speaker 3: It's just sugar. It's it's literally pure sugar. There's no
- 4:38Speaker 3: they are no sugar, no actual flavor to it. It's
- 4:41Speaker 3: just a very sweet, little sugary big.
- 4:44Speaker 5: Are you sure? Yeah, no, it tastes good.
- 4:48Speaker 7: Someone make sure he's not eating chalk.
- 4:52Speaker 6: It's those a little wafer.
- 4:57Speaker 7: Little love hearts from England, around and white and sweet?
- 5:02Speaker 5: Ye anyway? Onto? Uh, last, but not least from Luni.
- 5:10Speaker 3: It's Kristin. Hey, how are you doing good?
- 5:17Speaker 5: So the same question, is there one specific thing that
- 5:19Speaker 5: makes you feel old?
- 5:21Speaker 9: The sound that my knees make when I stand up?
- 5:25Speaker 3: Yes, Holy somebody dropped a bucket of gravel or someone
- 5:32Speaker 3: stepped on a pile of race Chrisbees.
- 5:36Speaker 6: Oh my god.
- 5:38Speaker 4: It's not like a pop so much as like crunch
- 5:41Speaker 4: yea a little bit.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, oh, okay, that's that sucked.
- 5:49Speaker 7: Did you used to work with a radium plant at all?
- 5:53Speaker 7: Are your bones turning? The sausage like?
- 5:58Speaker 3: Pop?
- 5:58Speaker 4: My knee? And I'm like where it wasn't farting because
- 6:01Speaker 4: it's like a it was sure.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Reference I believe to one of our first episodes of Annie.
- 6:15Speaker 7: You Don't Want Sausage.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Terrific.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it's an incredible story. Uh. Now we'll switch over
- 6:27Speaker 3: to the other team, the Dream Team. Guys, We're gonna
- 6:30Speaker 3: start with Stevie, veteran and a podcaster, and as it
- 6:34Speaker 3: turns out, a veteran podcaster. Stevie, He is there one thing,
- 6:38Speaker 3: one specific thing that makes you feel old?
- 6:42Speaker 2: How about waking up in bed, not even getting out,
- 6:46Speaker 2: planning and getting out and pulling a muscle then getting out.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Did you ever get to that point where you just
- 6:51Speaker 2: wake up you're just like all right, gotta get up.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It's almost like that, but it's like the entire lateral
- 6:58Speaker 2: all the way down your ba holy trap. It's happened
- 7:01Speaker 2: like four times in the last month where I pulled
- 7:03Speaker 2: something in my back just getting out of bed, and Okay,
- 7:06Speaker 2: this sucks. And I have like one of those like
- 7:09Speaker 2: stupid sleep number beds and ship like I can change it.
- 7:11Speaker 4: It's not from getting out of bed, it's you've worn
- 7:14Speaker 4: it and that's just the final straw, you know, so
- 7:16Speaker 4: you have to be doing another ship.
- 7:18Speaker 1: It's probably that.
- 7:20Speaker 2: It's right, not sleeping. Wow, But yeah, it sucks, like
- 7:24Speaker 2: I I everything in my back just is horrible.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Now everything else is fine. They like suck too, but everything.
- 7:32Speaker 4: To get this veteran a new back, please.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah, robot parts please, yeah, robot parts.
- 7:39Speaker 6: Let's do it.
- 7:41Speaker 1: It's five thousand dollars, maybut.
- 7:45Speaker 7: Really setting his sights low on that, like we can
- 7:49Speaker 7: get like one of those little like earnest things.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Maybe maybe and last but not least the youngest of
- 7:56Speaker 3: us and very likely not to have too many things list.
- 8:00Speaker 3: But I don't know, we'll find out. Is there something
- 8:05Speaker 3: specific that makes you feel old?
- 8:07Speaker 10: I mean, I could ramble off e very physical ailment
- 8:11Speaker 10: that I'm going through, but I think we all are
- 8:13Speaker 10: going through that anyways. I think the mom the thing
- 8:17Speaker 10: that makes me feel old is whenever I have to
- 8:21Speaker 10: speak with the younger generation on the internet. It is
- 8:28Speaker 10: a quite moment of I'm sorry, gazoon tide?
- 8:32Speaker 3: Did you? Did you just sneeze? And who wait?
- 8:38Speaker 5: Who got cooked with riz? What the like?
- 8:40Speaker 4: Ohio sigma?
- 8:41Speaker 6: What?
- 8:42Speaker 3: Excuse me?
- 8:43Speaker 10: Most of them will most of them, it's it's very
- 8:47Speaker 10: they're not.
- 8:50Speaker 11: I know that we are generation was notorious?
- 8:54Speaker 4: What generation are you?
- 8:56Speaker 11: I was born in ninety one, so are you?
- 9:00Speaker 5: He's a.
- 9:02Speaker 10: He'sny We because because ste and we have to mess
- 9:06Speaker 10: around with the computers between really becoming a thing. We
- 9:11Speaker 10: like the shortened words, you know, for the interest of time.
- 9:16Speaker 10: I think what they did is they took a scrabble
- 9:19Speaker 10: and just threw at the.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Screen and that's it.
- 9:22Speaker 11: I'm sorry, Like you're gonna have to Can I buy
- 9:24Speaker 11: a vowel?
- 9:25Speaker 3: Like like I need something?
- 9:28Speaker 1: When you stop it thinking?
- 9:30Speaker 11: I think a lot of times it is because they
- 9:32Speaker 11: just don't want to talk to us.
- 9:34Speaker 10: I don't blame and I don't really blame them, but
- 9:37Speaker 10: it sucks because while they're starting to get into the
- 9:40Speaker 10: workforce now, which means you're gonna have to ask them
- 9:42Speaker 10: for questions and.
- 9:45Speaker 11: Their communication skills get to use a little of work.
- 9:49Speaker 5: What a what a shot?
- 9:53Speaker 3: Well, we're going to play three silly games, all funny,
- 9:59Speaker 3: and we're gonna start with an old favorite. It's have
- 10:02Speaker 3: I got bad news for you? I've got three news
- 10:05Speaker 3: stories here, and all our players have to do is
- 10:07Speaker 3: tell me which one of these stories I pre selected
- 10:10Speaker 3: as the worst news out of these three. Whichever team
- 10:14Speaker 3: manages to pick it, or if neither get it, the
- 10:17Speaker 3: team that picts the second worst news will win the
- 10:20Speaker 3: game and earn one episode point. And as per usual
- 10:24Speaker 3: for this game, these news stories are all purely positive oh,
- 10:27Speaker 3: which will make it hard to find the worst one.
- 10:30Speaker 5: But we'll see. Let's have a look at it.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Shall we We're just gonna go over each story one
- 10:36Speaker 3: by one and then and the players can deliberate team
- 10:40Speaker 3: by team and decide which one they want to choose.
- 10:42Speaker 3: We're gonna start with story number one. Senior citizens are
- 10:45Speaker 3: one of the fastest growing online gaming communities. As covered
- 10:50Speaker 3: recently by NBC News, senior citizens are taking up gaming
- 10:54Speaker 3: in higher and higher numbers. Yes, and it's not just
- 10:58Speaker 3: that their agents, but uh literally, there is a surprisingly
- 11:05Speaker 3: large segment of the streaming community that are old people.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I think one of the first major ones was Skyrim.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Grandma literally all she does is play Skyrim all day,
- 11:17Speaker 3: in and out, back and forth, you know, all over.
- 11:20Speaker 3: It's the one game she plays, but she loves it,
- 11:22Speaker 3: so she just keeps playing it. There there's called duty Grandma.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah, she's she's real. She's pretty amazing.
- 11:30Speaker 2: There is there's a there's a battlefield old Grampa guy,
- 11:32Speaker 2: he's fucking.
- 11:33Speaker 3: There's there's a bunch of them. One of my favorites,
- 11:36Speaker 3: Kilbert Trout. He's he's in his late sixties I think,
- 11:41Speaker 3: but he's genuinely just a really fun dude and he
- 11:43Speaker 3: really enjoys doing it.
- 11:45Speaker 5: So I'm like that's awesome.
- 11:47Speaker 4: What does he play.
- 11:49Speaker 3: He plays a lot of a lot of older games,
- 11:51Speaker 3: a lot of like nineties point and click, uh sure,
- 11:54Speaker 3: action games. But he does play some newer stuff every.
- 11:59Speaker 5: Now and then.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think he did.
- 12:03Speaker 5: He did it.
- 12:04Speaker 3: He's very fond of playing games that are very hard
- 12:06Speaker 3: to get running nowadays. He did a game called Space
- 12:09Speaker 3: Bunnies Must Die, which was what was basically tomb Raider
- 12:13Speaker 3: with like a very twisted sense of humor. You just
- 12:18Speaker 3: basically ran around shooting space bunnies. Yeah, it would come
- 12:22Speaker 3: down to try and you know, completely hijack your town
- 12:25Speaker 3: and take everybody away.
- 12:27Speaker 5: It's it's a wild game.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Hardly no one knows it exists, thus the negative neutral
- 12:34Speaker 3: reaction I got by mentioning it. But yeah, he's he's
- 12:40Speaker 3: good at digging these really weird relics up that you've
- 12:42Speaker 3: just never heard of and been like, man, these.
- 12:44Speaker 5: Things are crazy.
- 12:45Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 12:46Speaker 3: So yeah, so yeah, that's that's pretty much all there
- 12:50Speaker 3: was to the news story. They were just highlighting that
- 12:51Speaker 3: this segment of gaming is becoming more and more and
- 12:56Speaker 3: I think it's at least what they said in the
- 12:59Speaker 3: video is that a large portion of that is the socializing,
- 13:03Speaker 3: which is more difficult to do the older older you get.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I could believe it.
- 13:08Speaker 4: I guess you're taking over Facebook too.
- 13:15Speaker 3: And Covid has pretty much put a damper on social
- 13:18Speaker 3: gatherings anyway. So probably looking for another source of you know,
- 13:23Speaker 3: meeting and clicking with people.
- 13:25Speaker 8: Clicking because click click, Well done, thank you, I.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Get a point, right, it's not that game, damn it.
- 13:35Speaker 4: You get your own special set of points.
- 13:39Speaker 5: You can get get a Stevie snack.
- 13:48Speaker 1: What about.
- 13:57Speaker 3: All right? Uh, nobody has anything else to say about this.
- 14:00Speaker 3: We'll just move on to story numbers.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I think it's awesome.
- 14:02Speaker 6: I can't wait to I'm waiting fully retired video.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Thank god, I dream of it, dream of it.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Get a lamphouse.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Good for their brains, right, yeah too?
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:16Speaker 9: For mental helps you know, keeps them mentally sharp.
- 14:20Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean at a certain age.
- 14:23Speaker 10: Yeah, being physically active is important, but being mental active
- 14:25Speaker 10: is definitely important.
- 14:26Speaker 5: There's just so much crap that you like.
- 14:28Speaker 11: They can mess with you, like dementia and stuff.
- 14:31Speaker 10: By keeping a pretty active brain, whether it's reading, doing
- 14:35Speaker 10: a hobby, whatever, you can actually kind of.
- 14:37Speaker 11: Forego that or even completely circumnavigated.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Right, hell yeah, all right. Well let's move on to
- 14:44Speaker 3: story number two. Women regained sight after being blind for
- 14:49Speaker 3: twenty three years. Bad something.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Wait a minute, she's something stupid.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Well, she got into an accident. I don't know whether
- 14:57Speaker 3: it was her fault. She got into an accident that
- 15:00Speaker 3: impacted her spine. Now, the doctors were able to put
- 15:05Speaker 3: her back together again, however, and she couldn't see anymore. Now,
- 15:11Speaker 3: this woman is highly religious, and instead of instead of
- 15:18Speaker 3: letting it, you know, get her down, or blaming God
- 15:22Speaker 3: or whatever, she decided to embrace it. She became something
- 15:27Speaker 3: of a blind artist. She was actually doing like a
- 15:31Speaker 3: lot of paintings and so forth. And then I think
- 15:36Speaker 3: just recently she had either gotten into an I think
- 15:38Speaker 3: she'd fallen.
- 15:39Speaker 5: Is what happened.
- 15:40Speaker 3: She fell and she needed surgery on her back and
- 15:45Speaker 3: whatever they did. The doctor who did it isn't sure
- 15:48Speaker 3: why she can see again, but apparently, like they think,
- 15:52Speaker 3: the blindness was caused by a artery in her in
- 15:56Speaker 3: her spine that had been kinked. And when they had
- 16:00Speaker 3: just in this newer surgery they released that came. Oh,
- 16:04Speaker 3: and it reactivated the dormant parts of her brain that
- 16:07Speaker 3: handled me processing.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Oh. My gosh. Cool.
- 16:11Speaker 3: So when she came out of the surgery, she was
- 16:13Speaker 3: surprised to see light. She was surprised to see out
- 16:17Speaker 3: the window, to see like the river nearby. She's like,
- 16:20Speaker 3: I haven't seen this in twenty three years. Uh, and
- 16:24Speaker 3: it just came like this massive miracle.
- 16:27Speaker 1: It's awesome.
- 16:29Speaker 3: And she, of course is she is giving the credit
- 16:33Speaker 3: to God instead of the doctor who fixed her up.
- 16:35Speaker 5: But you know that's right, that's what it is.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I did nothing, lady, only fourteen hours in surgery.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I mean, he got paid.
- 16:43Speaker 6: It's fine.
- 16:44Speaker 4: I didn't know a king thing in your spine could
- 16:46Speaker 4: affect your vision.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Like everything.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Yeah, your spine, that's crazy.
- 16:53Speaker 11: Your spine is up.
- 16:55Speaker 10: You're you're not gonna have no like the one other
- 16:58Speaker 10: thing you need to protect other than your head.
- 17:02Speaker 1: That's here and there about the head. But it's fine.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Saying I got hit a lot in the head and
- 17:09Speaker 6: I'm still walking around right.
- 17:11Speaker 10: Also, well, yeah, if you can call it walking.
- 17:20Speaker 11: More like a sad limp.
- 17:24Speaker 3: He's in high school.
- 17:27Speaker 11: You know your name in high school was old Yeller.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Oh yeah, your penis.
- 17:33Speaker 1: That's a lie. You're forgetting. They don't lose. It's a bit.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Hey, baby, I want to see sadly, Well.
- 17:48Speaker 3: He's kind of depressed to day.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Heads up, No, he's kind of depressed.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Oh man, that's really funny. Okay, let's move on to
- 18:08Speaker 3: story number three. Norwegian man rudely awoken by giant container
- 18:14Speaker 3: ship running acround meters from his house. This was a
- 18:19Speaker 3: couple of weeks ago. Yeah, a gentleman by the name
- 18:24Speaker 3: of Johan something or other, don't have the exact Yeah,
- 18:29Speaker 3: that was Joan something or other was rudely awakened and
- 18:40Speaker 3: insisted knocking on his door. And it turned out it
- 18:46Speaker 3: was his neighbor who had seen this ship coming and
- 18:48Speaker 3: was like, it's coming right for your house.
- 18:50Speaker 5: I got I gotta get it. I gotta get out
- 18:52Speaker 5: of it. But he just didn't respond.
- 18:54Speaker 3: He was sleeping, and then he was just banging out
- 18:58Speaker 3: his doors like what what the out and the ship
- 19:00Speaker 3: had already run a ground by this point it had
- 19:03Speaker 3: narrowly missed his house. It was literally a few feet
- 19:08Speaker 3: literally my ship. Yeah, it's a massive share Yeah ship,
- 19:14Speaker 3: it's crazy.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Harry Man.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Living near the water man, that's where the biggest creatures
- 19:19Speaker 2: are that we don't know about.
- 19:20Speaker 1: They're gonna come and kill us.
- 19:21Speaker 12: When we do stupid more ship to our planet, except
- 19:23Speaker 12: this ship exactly, we always start this ship.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Then it's going to be them after.
- 19:30Speaker 3: The gentleman's real name is Johann Helberg Helbert Helver. He's
- 19:34Speaker 3: in his mid to late sixties, and he said, I
- 19:37Speaker 3: went to the window and was quite astonished to see
- 19:40Speaker 3: a big ship. I had to bend my neck to
- 19:43Speaker 3: see the top of it. It was so unreal.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Is it still there?
- 19:48Speaker 3: Yeah? I think we'd all be a little bit crazy.
- 19:49Speaker 3: I don't like still there, but yeah, there's a picture
- 19:52Speaker 3: of its.
- 19:56Speaker 5: Property.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 7: Mine in the article said that they were trying to
- 20:03Speaker 7: like pull it out. The first time they tried they
- 20:06Speaker 7: couldn't move it at all, that they were going to
- 20:08Speaker 7: have to try again during high tide.
- 20:14Speaker 3: The the most miraculous thing about this is that there
- 20:16Speaker 3: were no injuries.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Whatsoever off a malfunction the ship, and.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Little to no property damage as well.
- 20:24Speaker 10: According to the Garden, it wasn't so much a malfunction
- 20:27Speaker 10: of the ship, but a a mistake made by the helmsman.
- 20:33Speaker 10: They were supposed to turn left to right, I guess
- 20:36Speaker 10: because the way the water is when they.
- 20:38Speaker 11: Come in, it went straight ahead, and they must have
- 20:41Speaker 11: lost control from the tide.
- 20:43Speaker 1: That sucks.
- 20:44Speaker 6: Yeah, don't go on boats.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Humans weren't meant to be on boats.
- 20:50Speaker 7: You heard it here, folks, they are.
- 20:56Speaker 6: I just flight makes way more sense sent fucking water.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Humans were meant to do that anyway, Just ask the herring. Okay,
- 21:12Speaker 3: well that's all three of our news stories and the
- 21:17Speaker 3: onnie ladies.
- 21:20Speaker 5: I don't know what hell I was trying to say.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Uh, you guys are gonna choose first, so deliberate amongst
- 21:25Speaker 3: yourselves and decide which one you think I picked as
- 21:29Speaker 3: the worst story.
- 21:35Speaker 4: I'm not sure how the ship running around would be
- 21:39Speaker 4: a good news story in the except that nobody was killed.
- 21:44Speaker 9: Right, The ship seems like the worst thing to happen
- 21:49Speaker 9: because the other two seemed very positive to me.
- 21:53Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 21:54Speaker 7: See, And I feel like that lady claiming God wanted
- 21:58Speaker 7: her to have her vision back twenty three years later
- 22:01Speaker 7: is the worst story.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Oh, because she put it. She thinks the.
- 22:06Speaker 7: Article was about her, not that, And she's from Florida,
- 22:11Speaker 7: So that's the worst story.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Well, you know Aaron better, which would which would make
- 22:16Speaker 4: him more upset.
- 22:17Speaker 7: That's the thing. I don't know if he wants it
- 22:19Speaker 7: to be the worst like this story is the most
- 22:23Speaker 7: terrible to read or the worst thing that happened.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Oh yeah, was there grammatical errors in any of them?
- 22:33Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:33Speaker 4: No, I do see what you're saying. Yeah, I get
- 22:35Speaker 4: it for the eyesight one.
- 22:36Speaker 9: Because she's like I knew if I just waited, God
- 22:40Speaker 9: would give me my vision back.
- 22:41Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 22:41Speaker 7: I watched the whole interview. It was like, yeah, her
- 22:46Speaker 7: and God are going to braid each other's hair later.
- 22:51Speaker 4: I'd like to see that. I guess we're going with
- 22:57Speaker 4: the God.
- 22:57Speaker 7: I don't know that that's Aaron it that's that's that's rinds.
- 23:04Speaker 7: That's Aron's worst story. I don't know. It's between that
- 23:09Speaker 7: and the ship. I think he would be delighted by
- 23:12Speaker 7: the senior citizens playing video games.
- 23:13Speaker 9: Oh absolutely, yeah, I say we take a stab at
- 23:20Speaker 9: eyeballs there.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Yeah, eyeballs Jesus so violent. All right, So the AL
- 23:30Speaker 3: and I crew are going with the woman regaining her
- 23:33Speaker 3: site after twenty I can see you again, damn it.
- 23:37Speaker 3: All right, Well, so that leaves just the other two
- 23:41Speaker 3: stories for the dream Team.
- 23:43Speaker 10: Guys, what do you honestly, yeah, I'm thinking gets story three.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yeah too, because.
- 23:49Speaker 10: Well, the reason why I think it's story three is
- 23:52Speaker 10: because that ship ran aground, right, All that dirt has
- 23:55Speaker 10: now been displaced very close to his home, right, and
- 23:59Speaker 10: now they have to wait for high tide to get
- 24:01Speaker 10: it out. What do you think is gonna happen to
- 24:02Speaker 10: his basement?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Oh ship, he's fucked.
- 24:06Speaker 10: Yeah, he's gonna suffer a lot more damage to the
- 24:09Speaker 10: house while they're trying to get that fucking way ever
- 24:14Speaker 10: done to him.
- 24:14Speaker 12: When it's just like the the ship that you just
- 24:18Speaker 12: need to deal with people being around you to fix
- 24:20Speaker 12: stuff for that long and crap and keep eye on
- 24:22Speaker 12: all the Targets's still gonna take a couple of weeks all.
- 24:25Speaker 1: That, man, that'd be annoying.
- 24:26Speaker 10: So yeah, no, imagine it's still damage like water damage
- 24:32Speaker 10: to their homes, a lot of damage they.
- 24:35Speaker 7: Have like a they have like a shellar It would
- 24:38Speaker 7: be like a dirt mud room kind of dark, but
- 24:42Speaker 7: not like nothing could be damaged.
- 24:46Speaker 6: Nick Flood, he's trying to decon, deconvince you.
- 24:52Speaker 3: He'd chosen you're the one who I already chose.
- 24:57Speaker 8: Good should be the Yeah you're going.
- 25:03Speaker 3: You were going with the boats the worst one, okay,
- 25:07Speaker 3: and that will give you the point.
- 25:10Speaker 7: Damn it.
- 25:11Speaker 3: I was sorely tempted based on just how obnoxious she was.
- 25:15Speaker 3: But in the end, like it was, it was a
- 25:18Speaker 3: positive thing that happened where.
- 25:20Speaker 4: You Aaron, I was all set with an answer.
- 25:23Speaker 7: Well.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Saying the boat thing could have been worse for for sure,
- 25:28Speaker 3: but like you said, it still kind of sucks. There's
- 25:33Speaker 3: a ship boat on his property. People are gonna be
- 25:35Speaker 3: doing god knows what's it for a while until it's gone.
- 25:39Speaker 10: I would hope whoever owns that ship would like pay
- 25:43Speaker 10: to fix his land.
- 25:45Speaker 5: You would think so, But.
- 25:47Speaker 3: It's a possibility because it's not America, so you know,
- 25:50Speaker 3: there's possibility that could happen.
- 25:53Speaker 4: The delay whatever, the shipping America.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Where is your house in a shipping lane? Fuckers hate
- 26:08Speaker 3: rich people anyway. Okay, so the first episode point goes
- 26:13Speaker 3: to the dream Team, But don't worry on Luni. There
- 26:15Speaker 3: is plenty of game left. Game two is going to
- 26:17Speaker 3: be worth two points and we're going to play it
- 26:19Speaker 3: right after this.
- 26:29Speaker 13: Streetings, fellow nerds, it's Garrett your host of the Node

- 26:57Speaker 1: to Peace, Love and Bud at three twentye Transit Road
- 27:00Speaker 1: in Lockport, New York. Tell them b fytw Santa able
- 27:04Speaker 1: to hook you up.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for game two. Game
- 27:18Speaker 3: two is gonna be pop Culture fight Club. The game
- 27:23Speaker 3: of answering a tough question and defending your position returns.
- 27:26Speaker 3: I'm gonna ask each player for the best something or
- 27:29Speaker 3: their favorite something from the world of pop culture, and
- 27:32Speaker 3: they'll have to explain and defend themselves as best they can.
- 27:36Speaker 3: The best answer, as judged by me, will get two
- 27:38Speaker 3: episode points this week following the theme I want to
- 27:42Speaker 3: know who is your favorite funny old person character and why?
- 27:48Speaker 3: And because everyone would choose one of the Golden Girls otherwise,
- 27:51Speaker 3: the Golden Girls are off limits, as well as any
- 27:53Speaker 3: show in which they appeared. So who is your favorite?
- 28:00Speaker 3: On Golden Girls, funny old person character, and we're gonna start, well, actually,
- 28:05Speaker 3: I'm gonna let the online eye ladies decide whether they
- 28:08Speaker 3: would like to go first or whether they'd like to
- 28:10Speaker 3: make the dream Team go first.
- 28:15Speaker 4: I would like them to go first. What do you
- 28:17Speaker 4: guys want?
- 28:17Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 28:18Speaker 7: I think I want them to go first.
- 28:20Speaker 3: All right, everybody all around says dream Team should go first.
- 28:24Speaker 3: In that case, Stevi and Augie, which one of you
- 28:25Speaker 3: two wants to go first?
- 28:27Speaker 6: Of the two of you, if you too, you think
- 28:30Speaker 6: you probably got a better one than me.
- 28:32Speaker 11: Yeah, I wouldn't say better, but I've got one.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 28:41Speaker 10: So growing up I watched a lot of Cartoon Network,
- 28:45Speaker 10: and on Cartoon Network is a bunch of shows that
- 28:49Speaker 10: have like, you know, families and stuff like that, like Hey,
- 28:52Speaker 10: Arnold and like rug Rats. But probably my favorite, and
- 28:57Speaker 10: it kind of ties into why I really like think
- 29:00Speaker 10: like HP Lovecraft and the like nowadays is Eustace Bags
- 29:06Speaker 10: from Courage The Cowardly Dog.
- 29:10Speaker 3: He's just this.
- 29:11Speaker 10: Disgruntled old farmer that land is just completely shit and
- 29:16Speaker 10: he doesn't get anything from so I have no idea
- 29:18Speaker 10: how he even makes money. That is just constantly at
- 29:23Speaker 10: odds with the main character, Courage the cowardly dog, because
- 29:27Speaker 10: he's the whole time trying to protect them from the
- 29:30Speaker 10: horrible monstrosities that plague them for whatever reason. And Eustace
- 29:37Speaker 10: Bags is just this like greedy, old, funny fucking.
- 29:42Speaker 11: Farmer dudes, like you know whatever, like.
- 29:45Speaker 10: Give give me the slab, you know, return the slab
- 29:50Speaker 10: or suffer that.
- 29:51Speaker 11: By responses what's your offer?
- 29:58Speaker 10: Or when he's playing rat a mole with his uh
- 30:01Speaker 10: with his wife when she's infected by a ware mole,
- 30:05Speaker 10: literally got this, that's it and getting me that And
- 30:08Speaker 10: he comes back in with his giant ass mallet and
- 30:10Speaker 10: he's just just whack him aling the fucking floorboards.
- 30:14Speaker 11: He's trying to basically kill his wife.
- 30:19Speaker 4: That was a crazy show.
- 30:20Speaker 11: Good it was.
- 30:21Speaker 10: It was if you ever got the chance to watch it,
- 30:23Speaker 10: one of the most fucked up episodes. But really hammers
- 30:27Speaker 10: home how dark this show was meant to be.
- 30:29Speaker 11: Is Doctor Bull's world? Just watch that one?
- 30:33Speaker 5: It is just wow.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Hell yeah, okay, well, asked Stevie. Well, first of all,
- 30:43Speaker 3: ask does anyone have any questions for Augie?
- 30:47Speaker 1: I love I always like the character.
- 30:50Speaker 3: I've never seen that show, so.
- 30:55Speaker 4: I've heard of it but never seen it.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't remember.
- 31:01Speaker 11: It came out in like early two thousand. That sounds
- 31:04Speaker 11: along with all the other ones.
- 31:05Speaker 4: It would use some c G I for sure.
- 31:07Speaker 10: But they did it in a way that actually made
- 31:10Speaker 10: it kind of feel like discomforting cool look kind of bad.
- 31:15Speaker 10: But that was that was the point. It was like
- 31:17Speaker 10: just a scary kids show, but it wasn't actually scary
- 31:20Speaker 10: because it was following this dog that is smarter than usual.
- 31:25Speaker 4: You wouldn't talk, he would just be like.
- 31:28Speaker 10: He didn't talk eventually, Yeah, but not like full sentences.
- 31:32Speaker 3: The things I do for love.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you're right.
- 31:37Speaker 4: I guess the question is does Aaron know who?
- 31:39Speaker 5: This is not a clue.
- 31:42Speaker 4: It might affect your judgment.
- 31:44Speaker 10: Might affect my score plus minus.
- 31:48Speaker 3: It goes up somewhat based on the other's reaction.
- 31:51Speaker 5: Don't worry about that. Yeah. Yeah, it's how well you
- 31:55Speaker 5: defend it as well.
- 31:56Speaker 4: I like your choice.
- 31:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm up next.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Okay, So my favorite older person in pop culture is
- 32:10Speaker 2: gonna be Dolores Roberts, who's the She's the older lady
- 32:13Speaker 2: from the Mother from.
- 32:14Speaker 6: Everyone Loves Raymond. Here's where I picked off.
- 32:19Speaker 2: So I was like, I love it because she's that
- 32:23Speaker 2: mother that you want, that loving, caring mother, but at
- 32:27Speaker 2: the same time, she's also too caring and too loving
- 32:31Speaker 2: and she's got to be in every part of your life.
- 32:34Speaker 2: But the character was perfect. I think just the way
- 32:37Speaker 2: she always acted, like she was always there, like for
- 32:41Speaker 2: the one son more than the other. Obviously Raymond over
- 32:44Speaker 2: Robert and shit. But I just I don't know, something
- 32:48Speaker 2: about her kind of reminded me of my grandmother I
- 32:52Speaker 2: don't know, Like she was always like, here's the best food,
- 32:55Speaker 2: like here's all everything you guys can have, like all
- 32:58Speaker 2: of it, and then she would always mess with her
- 33:00Speaker 2: husband constantly because.
- 33:02Speaker 6: He was always doing some stupid ship.
- 33:05Speaker 2: So it reminded me of my grandmother here a lot,
- 33:07Speaker 2: because my grandmother and my grandfather argued non stop and
- 33:11Speaker 2: it was fucking funny to me. But her character and
- 33:14Speaker 2: that show is great, and then the clashing between her
- 33:16Speaker 2: and Deborah it's always been fun and obviously towards the end,
- 33:20Speaker 2: you know, it gets better.
- 33:21Speaker 1: But I just like the character.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I thought it was comforting and the comedy, but her
- 33:27Speaker 2: acting and everything she says, it's phenomenal, especially Grandma's boy.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Same Okay, does anybody have any questions for Stevie?
- 33:40Speaker 5: It looks like no. Also pretty.
- 33:45Speaker 10: Actually yeah, I do got one if you if you
- 33:47Speaker 10: had to choose a performance, which one would you be
- 33:50Speaker 10: your favorite.
- 33:50Speaker 6: For her out of all of them? Or just the
- 33:53Speaker 6: everyone loves Raymond one.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Out of all.
- 33:59Speaker 2: That's what you can't because I know we saw something
- 34:01Speaker 2: recently that was old as fuck and she was in that,
- 34:05Speaker 2: and I'm like, now I have to.
- 34:06Speaker 6: Think of all the ship ups. You know, I couldn't
- 34:07Speaker 6: even give you a kind of answer.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Get back to me on that.
- 34:09Speaker 2: I actually will, but for the time being, I'll just
- 34:12Speaker 2: say because I watched Grandma's Boy last weekend, the part
- 34:15Speaker 2: when she freaked her grandson out and begs her her
- 34:19Speaker 2: neighbor or her roommate diet or something in that room
- 34:22Speaker 2: and he started, she freaked him out, and she's older.
- 34:25Speaker 1: It's fucking funny.
- 34:26Speaker 6: It's a grandma freaking out this thirty year old grandson
- 34:29Speaker 6: and ship.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:31Speaker 2: It was great?
- 34:32Speaker 3: All right, fair enough, Okay, so that's the dream team
- 34:36Speaker 3: taking care of Let's move over to the on the
- 34:38Speaker 3: Lenai ladies.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Uh, which one of you would like to go first?
- 34:45Speaker 7: No silence is awesome for podcasts it is.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Do you want me to go?
- 34:51Speaker 5: No, one's gonna volunteer. I'll pick someone.
- 34:53Speaker 4: I'll go, Okay, I would like to pick one part
- 35:00Speaker 4: of an influential duo in my life, of my childhood.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Oh do you already know how'm picking?
- 35:06Speaker 7: I think so.
- 35:08Speaker 4: And that would be Waldorf from Statler and Waldorf, the
- 35:14Speaker 4: short one, and they would sit up in the box
- 35:21Speaker 4: and mock everyone. And that's that, between that and Mystery
- 35:25Speaker 4: Science Theater, that's how I got my style of humor.
- 35:29Speaker 4: They break the fourth wall, they go great laugh. So yeah,
- 35:37Speaker 4: it's like old people just they never contribute, They never
- 35:41Speaker 4: helped make the show better. They just just picking apart.
- 35:46Speaker 12: So I'd say him, that's a great, That is a great.
- 35:51Speaker 5: Anyone have any questions?
- 35:54Speaker 1: Why him over the other?
- 35:56Speaker 5: Good question.
- 35:57Speaker 4: I thought the other was a little meaner. I like
- 36:03Speaker 4: that he was a little just more into the laughs,
- 36:06Speaker 4: and the other guy was a little more just he
- 36:09Speaker 4: went for the.
- 36:12Speaker 3: YEA makes sense.
- 36:17Speaker 5: Yeah, the other one's more jovial.
- 36:19Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, that's almost like to think show.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Do you have a particular favorite line or bit from
- 36:25Speaker 3: Waldorf and Styler.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Yeah, when they were in them up at Christmas Carol
- 36:31Speaker 4: and they go. We're Marley and Marley.
- 36:38Speaker 11: That's my favorite Christmas Carol.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Yeah, because Ian renamed it to Farley and Farley for christ.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Oh my god, I forgot about that, all right, excellent,
- 36:54Speaker 3: Pick Aaron and Kristen.
- 36:56Speaker 5: One of you's got to go next.
- 36:58Speaker 7: You mean to go?
- 36:59Speaker 9: I can if you want, I'll go.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Great energy.
- 37:03Speaker 9: I've been tumbling through ideas.
- 37:05Speaker 7: Yeah, we've been talking about this on and.
- 37:08Speaker 9: Off and even discuss with Aaron. This is out of
- 37:13Speaker 9: the because his baby funny older characters that I like,
- 37:17Speaker 9: but it's it's your favorite, so I went with funny enough.
- 37:22Speaker 9: This is also technically a Muppet fyl fill ups from Dinosaurs.
- 37:28Speaker 11: Oh hell yeah.
- 37:29Speaker 6: So this is she's like.
- 37:30Speaker 9: By Florence Stanley and this is the grandmother from Dinosaurs.
- 37:34Speaker 3: She's in the wheelchair, the little lady with.
- 37:39Speaker 9: And she's just feisty and mean, especially to her son
- 37:42Speaker 9: in law. And I just love that. She's hilarious and
- 37:47Speaker 9: she'll be picking a come over here, a fat boy.
- 37:51Speaker 3: You know.
- 37:51Speaker 9: She's just like this obnoxious mother in law and it's
- 37:55Speaker 9: hilarious and that's always been one of my favorites.
- 37:58Speaker 4: I didn't even think of her gift Joris Roberts was
- 38:01Speaker 4: a dinosaur.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't even remember that character existed until you
- 38:07Speaker 2: started started like talking about I.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Have Does anyone have any questions for christ?
- 38:26Speaker 1: How did you remember that.
- 38:29Speaker 4: That show.
- 38:32Speaker 1: All the time.
- 38:34Speaker 3: That's just what I'm like, I don't know what to throw.
- 38:35Speaker 9: On all throw on dinosaurs And because I always loved
- 38:39Speaker 9: the episode where she's.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Gotten to an old age.
- 38:42Speaker 9: And so her son in law gets to throw her off.
- 38:48Speaker 3: And it's just it's just comic gold.
- 38:50Speaker 9: Just the banter that she has is fantastic.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Oh that's great, great, fantastic.
- 39:00Speaker 4: That show had the saddest ending though, do you remember, Yeah,
- 39:05Speaker 4: coming back on.
- 39:07Speaker 2: At the end the truth They had to, like, you know,
- 39:11Speaker 2: teach what you all did the same message I got.
- 39:17Speaker 11: Gotas it was a dark ending.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Moving on, Aaron, your last but not least, what do
- 39:26Speaker 3: you got? Uh?
- 39:28Speaker 7: This may be a controversial pick, but I am going
- 39:32Speaker 7: with Tim Conway's the Old Man from the Carol Burnette Show.
- 39:37Speaker 6: Okay, oh wow, wow was a show right.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Here's why.
- 39:46Speaker 7: Tim Conway as the Old Man. First of all, shuffled
- 39:50Speaker 7: across the stage so fast but slow it was you
- 39:54Speaker 7: couldn't take your eyes off him. Two uh, he found
- 39:59Speaker 7: himself in a lot of crazy situations. One time he
- 40:03Speaker 7: slow motion got hit by a car and slow motioned
- 40:08Speaker 7: his old man body over the car, and that takes
- 40:13Speaker 7: incredible muscle skill. But also like he pops out of
- 40:17Speaker 7: a painting. In one episode, he falls down the stairs
- 40:21Speaker 7: in slow motion and he kind of only ever goes
- 40:25Speaker 7: like huo. Which, sorry, that was a visual for those
- 40:29Speaker 7: of you.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Nice.
- 40:36Speaker 3: Okay, this is.
- 40:41Speaker 5: Tougher than I thought.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Oh, before I get it, before I deliberate, does anyone
- 40:46Speaker 3: have any questions about Aaron's pick good physical comedy pick?
- 40:53Speaker 10: Ye? I needed to remind myself there, fir Zay, I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 10: I I've seen.
- 41:00Speaker 11: Yeah, kind of regretting my.
- 41:03Speaker 4: Choice now you got you got some choices.
- 41:06Speaker 3: They are there's there's some really there's some really good ones,
- 41:11Speaker 3: uh there, and then there's Augie's pick. I'm sorry it's
- 41:19Speaker 3: too new for It's the only one I I'm not
- 41:21Speaker 3: familiar with, Like hey, Arnold.
- 41:26Speaker 14: Yeah, if I had to choose someone, it's it's a
- 41:33Speaker 14: tough call, but I would either go with I had
- 41:36Speaker 14: two in mind.
- 41:38Speaker 5: One is uh.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Homer's dad from The Simpsons, absolutely absolutely hilarious every time
- 41:51Speaker 3: he's on screen time.
- 41:53Speaker 5: He's one of my favorite.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Funny but my second favorite the the one that would
- 42:00Speaker 3: probably come after that is Uh. I think it's John
- 42:06Speaker 3: Gustafson Senior from The Grumpy Old Men from Meredith. In
- 42:12Speaker 3: those I mean to be fair, all.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Three of them are amazing.
- 42:18Speaker 3: Stole it. His character is kill hilarious, absolutely so goddamn funny.
- 42:26Speaker 3: And then all the improvs. He I assume he made
- 42:29Speaker 3: that up. It had to be. It could have been.
- 42:33Speaker 5: Scripted, but I mean, god, damn uh, it just made
- 42:37Speaker 5: me cackle. Either one would have been amazing.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And like I said, all of these are
- 42:46Speaker 3: great picks, but the one that resonated with me more
- 42:49Speaker 3: than anything was Waldorf. So I gotta give it to
- 42:57Speaker 3: I will take that game and win two, complete with
- 43:04Speaker 3: the Waldorf laugh.
- 43:07Speaker 9: Uh.
- 43:07Speaker 3: The Onluni team have two points to the Dream Teams one.
- 43:11Speaker 3: It's gonna come down to our final game. Our last
- 43:13Speaker 3: game is worth up to ten points and we're gonna
- 43:20Speaker 3: find out how well each team does when we come
- 43:23Speaker 3: back right after this.
- 43:34Speaker 7: Hey, guys, are you passionate about prison plate wear? Then
- 43:37Speaker 7: you should come watch on the Luni with us, where
- 43:40Speaker 7: we watch a Golden Girls episode play a little game
- 43:43Speaker 7: and talk a little shit. Part of the Odds Media Network.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Hey, welcome back. It's time for game three. Game three
- 44:00Speaker 3: is going to be yes, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Now the part you've all been waiting for. Game three
- 44:15Speaker 3: is gonna be Golden Girls, Empty Nest, or something else.
- 44:19Speaker 3: I've gotten something.
- 44:21Speaker 5: I've got ten quotes here.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Each team will be allowed to deliberate before they tell
- 44:26Speaker 3: me whether each quote is from an episode of The
- 44:29Speaker 3: Golden Girls, an episode of Empty Nest, or another TV
- 44:33Speaker 3: or movie entirely, and the third option changes with every quote,
- 44:39Speaker 3: So you're gonna stand your toes for each one. The
- 44:43Speaker 3: teams get right, they will earn one episode point. Okay,
- 44:47Speaker 3: so how will you do here? Will determine whether you
- 44:51Speaker 3: win or lose. And ONLINI CREU have a one point advantage.
- 44:56Speaker 3: So yes, Aaron looks ready for sure, So let's get
- 44:59Speaker 3: to it. Want to buzz in right, No, you don't
- 45:01Speaker 3: have to buzz in in fact, you guys lost the
- 45:04Speaker 3: last game.
- 45:05Speaker 5: So I'm gonna give you the choice.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Do you want to go first on the first quote
- 45:09Speaker 3: or do you want to go second on the first
- 45:10Speaker 3: quote because you will alternate.
- 45:12Speaker 6: Yeah, we're gonna go first.
- 45:13Speaker 3: You're gonna go first. Okay, so you're gonna go first.
- 45:14Speaker 3: And then after they give their answer, I'll ask on
- 45:16Speaker 3: the luni for their answer, and then we move on
- 45:19Speaker 3: to the next quote.
- 45:19Speaker 5: We'll switch the order and so on so forth.
- 45:21Speaker 6: I do have one question now.
- 45:25Speaker 1: No answer question, Aggie. Have you ever seen or heard
- 45:30Speaker 1: of empty test?
- 45:32Speaker 4: That is a yes or no question?
- 45:35Speaker 3: And the correct answer was no? Answered for me?
- 45:38Speaker 1: Wait a minute, man, I am not good at questions
- 45:41Speaker 1: or answer Wait.
- 45:42Speaker 7: Hold on, Kristen, have you ever seen empty nest?
- 45:45Speaker 4: Okay, so it's I have, but it's been a long
- 45:48Speaker 4: time your handicap.
- 45:50Speaker 3: That's pretty fair. I've heard of it, so it's it's
- 45:52Speaker 3: probably it's probably pretty fair.
- 45:54Speaker 5: We're gonna see how.
- 45:56Speaker 4: The spin off sister show.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Yeah, so let's get to it here, gentlemen.
- 46:02Speaker 5: Is your first quote?
- 46:04Speaker 3: My mother always used to say, the older you get,
- 46:06Speaker 3: the better you get, unless you're a banana. Is this
- 46:10Speaker 3: quote from The Golden Girls Empty Nest or the movie
- 46:14Speaker 3: Cocoon from nineteen eighty five.
- 46:20Speaker 6: I'm hoping it's Cocoon.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 46:22Speaker 6: Do you think what do you think? You think it's
- 46:25Speaker 6: gonna No, I think it's no. I think it's I
- 46:27Speaker 6: think it's gonna be Golden Girls.
- 46:29Speaker 8: Okay, yeah, what about you? Yeah, I think so too
- 46:32Speaker 8: cool Golden Girls.
- 46:33Speaker 5: You're going with Golden Girls? Yeah, okay, on Lanai, what
- 46:36Speaker 5: do you.
- 46:36Speaker 4: Think what's one hundred percent? That's Rose?
- 46:40Speaker 7: I don't know, that's Rose.
- 46:44Speaker 4: The older you get, the better you get, unless you're banana.
- 46:49Speaker 4: All right, you don't know what that No, it's okay,
- 46:52Speaker 4: we'll go with that.
- 46:55Speaker 1: The confidence.
- 46:58Speaker 3: The team's somewhat reluctantly going with Golden Girls, Is that right?
- 47:02Speaker 4: I thought I thought you all knew it.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Okay, well, both teams are locked in and both teams
- 47:08Speaker 3: get a point. It was the Golden Girls, absolutely.
- 47:11Speaker 4: Yeah, trust me, Aaron.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and and uh and Gina nailed it. That is
- 47:15Speaker 3: a Rose line.
- 47:17Speaker 5: Okay.
- 47:18Speaker 7: It sounded like something crazy Carol would have said on
- 47:20Speaker 7: Emptiness too. That's the problem is get on that show and.
- 47:25Speaker 4: The Joe Zuzu guy too.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Yeah. All right, well we'll get to them eventually. So
- 47:33Speaker 3: here's your second quote. I'm LENI this time you go.
- 47:37Speaker 5: You go first.
- 47:38Speaker 3: When a twenty two year old girl marries a man
- 47:41Speaker 3: who's eighty, chances are she's not after his body is
- 47:45Speaker 3: this line from Golden Girls, Empty Nest or the movie
- 47:49Speaker 3: A Marriage of Convenience from nineteen ninety eight.
- 47:55Speaker 4: I don't know, do you guys have a guy twenty
- 48:03Speaker 4: two year old? I'm gonna say emptiness, but I don't know.
- 48:06Speaker 4: I don't know that movie.
- 48:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know what that movie even is. I
- 48:13Speaker 7: would lean towards Empty Nest only because we don't really
- 48:17Speaker 7: do like stands not that old and Christy's twenty two,
- 48:20Speaker 7: but I can't think of another twenty to eighty ratio
- 48:24Speaker 7: that I remember. Oh wait, shit, is it Big Daddy's
- 48:27Speaker 7: Little Lady?
- 48:29Speaker 3: How young is that girl there is Big Daddy?
- 48:32Speaker 7: I can't remember.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Watching a few weeks.
- 48:35Speaker 3: I haven't seen it yet.
- 48:36Speaker 4: That's not my pro You know what? That is a
- 48:40Speaker 4: Sophia line. I think you're right.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Cover you.
- 48:52Speaker 7: If you're listening to this and you're not a Patreon member,
- 48:55Speaker 7: you fucking missed out. Larious up the coin.
- 49:03Speaker 4: Now that you say that, I want to go Golden Girls,
- 49:05Speaker 4: you know, let's do it.
- 49:07Speaker 3: I don't.
- 49:08Speaker 7: I don't want to be the wrong person. I overthink everything. Okay, fine,
- 49:12Speaker 7: Golden Girls.
- 49:14Speaker 3: I was gonna say, you don't actually win anything at
- 49:16Speaker 3: the end of the show.
- 49:17Speaker 5: You know that.
- 49:19Speaker 4: Every week too, when you whispering sweet Nothings in my ear.
- 49:24Speaker 5: That was I mean, that's that you absolutely do get everything.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Everybody who comes on the show gets that want it
- 49:31Speaker 3: or not, whether they want it or not. I need
- 49:37Speaker 3: something so I can finish. So I'm Lina, you are
- 49:44Speaker 3: going with Golden Girls?
- 49:45Speaker 5: Correct? Yeah, okay, Stevian Augie, give me an answer. What
- 49:48Speaker 5: do you think.
- 49:50Speaker 6: Empty nest?
- 49:51Speaker 5: Yeah, you're both going to the empty nest?
- 49:53Speaker 3: Okay, So I'm when I went with Golden Girls and
- 49:56Speaker 3: the dream Team went with empty nest, that is going
- 49:58Speaker 3: to be a point to the on the lone Eye ladies.
- 50:01Speaker 3: It's another Golden Girls quote. It's not from Sophia. It's
- 50:04Speaker 3: from Dorothy.
- 50:05Speaker 4: Oh Dorothy.
- 50:06Speaker 3: But otherwise exactly right. Okay, well done that one. Okay,
- 50:12Speaker 3: dream Team, you guys are going to go next. So
- 50:15Speaker 3: here is your here is your quote. As an actor,
- 50:18Speaker 3: no one could touch him. As a human being, no
- 50:21Speaker 3: one wanted to touch him. Is this line from the
- 50:25Speaker 3: Golden Girls the Empty Empty Nest? Or the Sunshine Boys
- 50:30Speaker 3: from nineteen seventy five?
- 50:35Speaker 7: Oh?
- 50:36Speaker 1: Man, oh yeah, the ideas.
- 50:39Speaker 6: I think it's a shine sweet let's go with that one.
- 50:42Speaker 5: You're going with the Sunshine Boys.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Hey, yeah, it a Western. I don't know, there's a
- 50:47Speaker 1: lot of westerns.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Okay on the Lane Eye ladies.
- 50:51Speaker 5: What do you think?
- 50:55Speaker 7: I think it's hilarious that the man that wrote the content,
- 50:58Speaker 7: when asked what type of movie Sunshine Boys went, said
- 51:01Speaker 7: I don't know because I don't know either.
- 51:10Speaker 4: So you're saying it's probably not that because he doesn't
- 51:12Speaker 4: even know what it is.
- 51:13Speaker 7: Can I hear it again? I think that's part of
- 51:15Speaker 7: the problem is.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Sure as an actor, no one could touch him. As
- 51:20Speaker 3: a human being, no one wanted to touch him.
- 51:24Speaker 7: I think empty Nest this feels like a crazy, weird
- 51:27Speaker 7: Carol statement too, But I just liked that actress very much.
- 51:32Speaker 4: I'm fine with that because I don't know. I'm not sure.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so AML and I is going with Empty Nest,
- 51:38Speaker 3: and the dream Team went with the Sunshine Boys, and
- 51:42Speaker 3: the point will go to the dream Team. It is
- 51:44Speaker 3: the Sunshine Boys. Sunshine Boys is a movie about two
- 51:49Speaker 3: a vaudeville act getting back together after twenty years. He did, so,
- 51:55Speaker 3: he was a lying, Yeah, I'm not I'm not going
- 52:00Speaker 3: to give anything away.
- 52:01Speaker 7: Come on, should we should we send him a fire
- 52:04Speaker 7: extinguisher because those pants are on fire.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Don't have to lie.
- 52:10Speaker 7: I am not.
- 52:11Speaker 4: Going to share that.
- 52:12Speaker 7: That's why it's pantsless, because they burn off them lies.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Okay, well, it's time for quote number four, and ladies,
- 52:20Speaker 3: you will go first this time.
- 52:22Speaker 4: All right.
- 52:23Speaker 3: I am sixty two years old. I can't get it
- 52:26Speaker 3: up unless I take a dose of strychnine.
- 52:30Speaker 4: Strict nine.
- 52:32Speaker 3: I mean that would be the right word, however you
- 52:37Speaker 3: pronounce it. That's okay.
- 52:39Speaker 7: I don't know how to say leechi or laichi.
- 52:44Speaker 4: Sixty two. I can't get it up unless I have
- 52:46Speaker 4: strict nine. Okay, what were the choices?
- 52:48Speaker 7: Uh?
- 52:49Speaker 3: Is it from the Golden Girls Empty Nests? Or the
- 52:53Speaker 3: movie Harry and Tonto from nineteen seventy four.
- 53:04Speaker 7: I think it's from empty Nest because that sounds like
- 53:08Speaker 7: something the doctor might have jokingly said.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Yeah, that's fine with me.
- 53:13Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so you're going with empty nest? Sure, see
- 53:18Speaker 3: me and Augie.
- 53:20Speaker 6: I have nothing to you. Empty nest might be the
- 53:23Speaker 6: only thing.
- 53:24Speaker 1: I mean.
- 53:24Speaker 6: I don't think it was in Golden Girls.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Christen is dying.
- 53:28Speaker 1: It is in Golden Girls.
- 53:29Speaker 7: Actually, it's okay, we're not playing baseball.
- 53:31Speaker 1: We'll go with Golden Girls.
- 53:32Speaker 3: You're going with Golden Ears, Yes.
- 53:34Speaker 7: You said dying.
- 53:36Speaker 5: Okay.
- 53:37Speaker 3: The dream Team went with Golden Girls, and Ann and
- 53:39Speaker 3: I went with Empty Nest. Nobody gets the point. It
- 53:43Speaker 3: is from Harry and Tonto nineteen seventy four.
- 53:46Speaker 5: The fuck that movie about? This movie is.
- 53:49Speaker 3: About an old man taking his cat on a cross
- 53:51Speaker 3: country journey. No, it's a comedy. It's that's supposedly pretty good.
- 53:58Speaker 3: But it's from nineteen seventy four. Or I've never seen it,
- 54:02Speaker 3: all right, So how about something more recent, shall we?
- 54:05Speaker 3: So here's another quote. This is quote number five. It
- 54:08Speaker 3: means you guys are gonna start cool. Three things to
- 54:11Speaker 3: remember when you get older. Never pass up a bathroom,
- 54:14Speaker 3: never waste a heart on, and never trust a fart.
- 54:19Speaker 3: Is this line from the Golden Girls Empty Nest or
- 54:24Speaker 3: the movie The bucket List from two thousand and seven.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Oh, got right.
- 54:32Speaker 4: I feel like it sounds like it is.
- 54:35Speaker 10: So funny if it was some Golden Girls, I wish,
- 54:39Speaker 10: I think.
- 54:39Speaker 8: So let's go to the bucket List, right, Yeah, I
- 54:44Speaker 8: don't know, I've never seen it, but we're go one.
- 54:47Speaker 5: You're going with the bucket List.
- 54:48Speaker 11: Yeah, all right, I think I have, I just don't
- 54:50Speaker 11: remember it.
- 54:51Speaker 3: Gina, Aaron, Kristen, what do you say?
- 54:55Speaker 4: I was gonna say, bucket list, bucket list?
- 54:59Speaker 3: Okay, it sounds like everybody's going buckets.
- 55:02Speaker 4: Agree, circle gets a square.
- 55:04Speaker 3: And everybody gets a point. It is the bucket list. Okay,
- 55:12Speaker 3: onto quote number six. Uh, and this time, ladies, you
- 55:19Speaker 3: will go first. I've just told a ten year old
- 55:23Speaker 3: boy that he's become a woman. Is this from The
- 55:28Speaker 3: Golden Girls Empty Nest or the movie Cotch from nineteen
- 55:32Speaker 3: seventy one.
- 55:36Speaker 4: You've fought some obscure shit.
- 55:39Speaker 7: He's good at that, like a fucking nightmare. It's like
- 55:43Speaker 7: if I was on a game show that was a
- 55:45Speaker 7: NonStop nightmare.
- 55:47Speaker 6: Well you would help, all.
- 55:51Speaker 4: Right, Cotch, Golden Girls, Empty I just well, Harry was
- 55:56Speaker 4: a doctor.
- 55:57Speaker 7: I could see Harry saying that, like.
- 56:00Speaker 9: I'd say, yeah, what do you think, Kristen, I don't
- 56:07Speaker 9: know empty nest. I've never heard of Potch, So yeah, sure,
- 56:10Speaker 9: empty nest sounds good.
- 56:12Speaker 3: Sure, Okay, I'm La and I are going with empty
- 56:15Speaker 3: nests somewhat reluctantly. Stevie and Aggie, what do you say? Yes?
- 56:22Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, I was thinking empty nest because
- 56:23Speaker 2: I don't know the other movie.
- 56:25Speaker 5: You're also going to go with empty nests?
- 56:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 56:27Speaker 3: Okay, both teams have gone with empty nest. Both teams
- 56:32Speaker 3: are getting a point. It is empty nest and it
- 56:34Speaker 3: is Harry saying that line.
- 56:36Speaker 1: Nice, good job, ladies.
- 56:40Speaker 3: Uh, the scores with four quotes left to go on
- 56:45Speaker 3: the lu and I have six points and Stevie and
- 56:47Speaker 3: Augie have five. Holy is still a one point game.
- 56:52Speaker 3: Here is quote number seven, and gentlemen, gentlemen, you will
- 56:56Speaker 3: start this time. Here's your quote. Looks like Chuck's taking
- 57:01Speaker 3: old one eye to the optometrist? Is this from Golden Girls,
- 57:07Speaker 3: Empty Nest? Or Grumpy Old Men from nineteen ninety three?
- 57:11Speaker 1: We're going first.
- 57:12Speaker 6: Yes, you are Crumpy old Men nineteen ninety three.
- 57:15Speaker 5: Okay, ladies, I think it.
- 57:19Speaker 4: I think that is that? Yeah, girls think Yeah, I'm
- 57:26Speaker 4: pretty sure. Yeah, okay, same, We'll have more of the same. Please.
- 57:29Speaker 3: Okay, everybody's gone with grumpy old men and everybody gets
- 57:33Speaker 3: a point.
- 57:34Speaker 5: That is exactly right.
- 57:35Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm like that. That's I'm pretty sure I've heard
- 57:38Speaker 11: that line and said like.
- 57:40Speaker 4: Line or what. I don't know.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah it is.
- 57:44Speaker 6: Wait, no, it wasn't it was.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Jack Lemon. They're watching dude go.
- 57:53Speaker 3: Nope, Nope, it was his dad. It was it was
- 57:55Speaker 3: Burgess Meredith. We're just Meredith. Looks like Chucks taken old
- 58:02Speaker 3: one eye to the optometrist. Yeah, okay, so the Squirrystal
- 58:14Speaker 3: the one point away.
- 58:16Speaker 5: IML and I have seven.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Stevie and Aug you have six. Here is quote number eight, Ladies,
- 58:21Speaker 3: you will go first. Why do blessings wear disguises? If
- 58:26Speaker 3: I were a blessing, I'd run around naked? Is this
- 58:30Speaker 3: line from the Golden Girls Empty Nest or the movie
- 58:35Speaker 3: The Trip to Bountiful from nineteen eighty five?
- 58:43Speaker 4: Is this us?
- 58:44Speaker 7: I Phil, it's us?
- 58:46Speaker 3: Golden Girl?
- 58:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I would say golden Chris.
- 58:50Speaker 7: Rose is such a prude, though, would she talk about
- 58:52Speaker 7: being naked?
- 58:54Speaker 4: That's true.
- 58:55Speaker 7: There's like literally an episode Rose the Prude.
- 58:58Speaker 4: Unless it's Crazy Carol, it could be a Blanche thing too.
- 59:05Speaker 7: That yeah, why miracles in disguise? I'm just running around
- 59:10Speaker 7: naked if I was a miracle. No, I don't know.
