- 0:03Speaker 1: Good morning, good money, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It is time now for one on one and with
- 0:08Speaker 1: the pro and we're talking to our friends with Advanced
- 0:11Speaker 1: Pants Solutions Quin.
- 0:12Speaker 2: And you brought a friend.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Yeah, she's maybe she may be a little more than
- 0:15Speaker 3: a friend.
- 0:16Speaker 2: She's introduction.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I've been together for forty two years now forty three.
- 0:20Speaker 2: That's good.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Starting my wife dom, Hi, how you doing. Yeah, she
- 0:25Speaker 3: actually has a license as well, and she goes and
- 0:26Speaker 3: does it as well, and she does books.
- 0:28Speaker 4: And so I thought, you know, George's not here, so
- 0:30Speaker 4: I thought i'd throw her under the bus.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Oh. Nothing says love like to seeing the bus gover
- 0:36Speaker 2: over you. You know. So, how do you like being
- 0:38Speaker 2: in the bug business?
- 0:39Speaker 5: Oh, it's wonderful. It's been a it's been a wonderful
- 0:42Speaker 5: living and it's we do so much service for everybody,
- 0:45Speaker 5: for so many customers, and it's kind of like an industry.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Well yeah, because that look of relief has got to
- 0:53Speaker 2: be rewarding. When you said, you know, the bugs be going.
- 0:56Speaker 5: Being a problem, you're taking care of that problem.
- 0:58Speaker 2: There you go, solution.
- 1:00Speaker 1: That's why you're called advanced bets solumptions, because if you
- 1:04Speaker 1: got a problem. We've got a solution. We've got a
- 1:07Speaker 1: lot of water. And that's an understatement, right, how's that
- 1:11Speaker 1: been for business?
- 1:12Speaker 4: You know, it's we live in Kopan, so we just
- 1:15Speaker 4: got we just got electric last night.
- 1:19Speaker 3: We have no water still. So right now, there'll be
- 1:23Speaker 3: a lot of bugs.
- 1:23Speaker 4: There'll be a lot of stuff moving around.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Just due to all the water, a lot of a
- 1:29Speaker 3: lot of water.
- 1:29Speaker 4: We're going to have houses, So you get mow crickets,
- 1:32Speaker 4: you get roaches they call water bugs. They're black roaches.
- 1:36Speaker 4: They'll be coming in and you know, just forces stuff
- 1:39Speaker 4: to come in the house more.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Sometimes you get wildlife getting displaced and finding maybe your
- 1:44Speaker 1: home their new home.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, we don't have a license for wildlife,
- 1:49Speaker 4: but it's a whole different license. But yeah, I mean,
- 1:51Speaker 4: we actually have a house that actually was going to
- 1:53Speaker 4: do this morning and she had Soffitt's that had big
- 1:56Speaker 4: openings and she had mice in the attic. So I said,
- 1:59Speaker 4: you've got to fix those holes before.
- 2:01Speaker 2: You can get it. It does a lot of goods,
- 2:03Speaker 2: so understood.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But I imagine the phone's been a ring and once
- 2:07Speaker 1: the electricity got.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Back going, I call it seven forty this morning so.
- 2:13Speaker 2: There you go.
- 2:14Speaker 1: You get filling out the calendar already, July is just
- 2:17Speaker 1: about to fill up.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I beg yeah, goysh Yeah.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Well, the thing is, when we talk about solutions, we
- 2:24Speaker 1: talk about taking care of a problem that maybe some
- 2:28Speaker 1: people might feel embarrassed about. Yeah, but the thing is
- 2:32Speaker 1: bugs come into your house. That happens to every home
- 2:36Speaker 1: in the world where you live.
- 2:39Speaker 4: And you know, the whole deal with with doing pest
- 2:42Speaker 4: control on a monthly basis is, so you have a
- 2:45Speaker 4: program keeping from coming in ye bury around the house. Well,
- 2:49Speaker 4: you know, we've got houses that are multiman dollar houses
- 2:52Speaker 4: and golf golf courses. And I will say this, people
- 2:56Speaker 4: get embarrassed because of bed bugs especially, And I went
- 3:00Speaker 4: to houses that again high end houses and have bed bugs.
- 3:03Speaker 4: You get them from a variety of places exactly. And
- 3:07Speaker 4: the roaches are the same way. People don't want to
- 3:10Speaker 4: talk about it, and you've got to be proactive where
- 3:14Speaker 4: they just keep getting worse.
- 3:16Speaker 2: They could win, yeah, and they do sometimes and they do.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And that's where we put it into it. We say, look, buddy,
- 3:24Speaker 1: you got to go somewhace else. And now the thing
- 3:27Speaker 1: with the bed bugs, those can be transported by anyone
- 3:32Speaker 1: anything at any time.
- 3:34Speaker 3: From my understanding, Yeah, they mainly are with people.
- 3:37Speaker 4: I mean roaches are kind of like that too, But
- 3:40Speaker 4: you know you I always try to ask people, how
- 3:42Speaker 4: do you think you got them? Make them think, because
- 3:45Speaker 4: a lot of times you'll have a family member or
- 3:47Speaker 4: a friend that has them.
- 3:48Speaker 3: But doesn't again go back to it.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Well, or they'll be embarrassed to tell you both both
- 3:54Speaker 4: go back to what you just said, so they don't
- 3:57Speaker 4: realize that now they've infested somebody else's house.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And that happens.
- 4:02Speaker 4: We did a church one time and the person had
- 4:05Speaker 4: bedbug crawling on it, and so we had.
- 4:07Speaker 3: To do the whole church.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Oh boy.
- 4:08Speaker 4: So you know you get them, you can get them
- 4:11Speaker 4: at restaurants, movie theaters.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Wherever people congress exactly exactly. So this is one of these.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Things you're never going to find permanent, but you're going
- 4:21Speaker 1: to have a solution to keep it control.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Well, the funny thing with bed bugs is bedbug the roaches.
- 4:28Speaker 4: For sure, you have to eliminate every one of them
- 4:30Speaker 4: you have in the house. You have to because you
- 4:32Speaker 4: can't have a few, because you still have.
- 4:34Speaker 2: A bunch a bed bug multiply so quickly, so.
- 4:37Speaker 3: A female bedbug breeds one time and has.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Babies every day forever. She doesn't have to breed again
- 4:43Speaker 4: to have eggs, to lay eggs. So one female bedbug
- 4:48Speaker 4: in your house and you've got a problem.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Got a million just like that.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Yeah, So it doesn't take long to have a problem.
- 4:54Speaker 4: And there's so many. You know, you can get on
- 4:57Speaker 4: the internet and find all kinds of information and some's
- 4:59Speaker 4: good and some a little bogus, you know.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So now we don't deal in bogus folks, right, right,
- 5:06Speaker 1: So you've been at this for a long time. You
- 5:08Speaker 1: started with a kind of a big corporation, right, and
- 5:10Speaker 1: you decided that maybe the hometown field would be the best.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Right, right.
- 5:15Speaker 4: I started in nineteen ninety eight, found out it was
- 5:19Speaker 4: kind of a niche. It was kind of you have
- 5:21Speaker 4: to be good with people getting rid of the bugs
- 5:23Speaker 4: as well. I was trained really well, And it's just
- 5:26Speaker 4: I enjoy meeting new people, seeing new people and taking
- 5:29Speaker 4: care of problems.
- 5:31Speaker 3: And like Tori, that was just on. She's one of
- 5:34Speaker 3: my customers.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I mean, he is funny because she doesn't like chemicals,
- 5:38Speaker 4: which we don't do much on the inside. But she
- 5:41Speaker 4: doesn't like scorpions either. And she had she got bid
- 5:43Speaker 4: by escort stung by a scorpions.
- 5:45Speaker 1: So once you get that, by god, you remember that
- 5:48Speaker 1: the priority.
- 5:49Speaker 4: The priority changes when you start getting stung by scorpions.
- 5:52Speaker 3: And so we'll do it in the spring. We don't
- 5:54Speaker 3: do service agreements, so we'll do it as soon as.
- 5:56Speaker 4: She calls, and we'll do it usually still fall, and
- 5:58Speaker 4: then we'll we'll cancel it well next year.
- 6:01Speaker 3: So we have a flexible program like that.
- 6:03Speaker 2: How is that on the box? And makes it a
- 6:05Speaker 2: little easier for everybody, doesn't it?
- 6:07Speaker 5: Yes, it does.
- 6:09Speaker 1: And once again it goes back to that hometown, small
- 6:13Speaker 1: town trust relationship of things that we do called business.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Now in business business everything is right and lawyers and
- 6:24Speaker 1: everything else around here, handshaking a promise yes, and and
- 6:29Speaker 1: the follow through is all it really takes. And boy,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I tell you what, you guys forgot the name for
- 6:34Speaker 1: follow through, that's for sure.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah. That's got to feel good. Yeah, it's hard earned,
- 6:39Speaker 2: but feel good. It has been.
- 6:41Speaker 4: You know, we've been it's been a few years to
- 6:42Speaker 4: get to where we are. We did one best of
- 6:45Speaker 4: Boardersville this year here at the radio station.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, and congratulations again that it would be
- 6:50Speaker 1: kind of fun, wasn't it.
- 6:52Speaker 4: It was pretty exciting, and I didn't I know that
- 6:55Speaker 4: some people that do it and they make a bunch
- 6:56Speaker 4: of phone calls, and I didn't do that. I thought,
- 6:58Speaker 4: you know, if I win, I win. If I don't, don't,
- 7:00Speaker 4: And I kind of was a little pleasantly surprised. I
- 7:05Speaker 4: guess it's important. I'm not I'm not the biggest company
- 7:08Speaker 4: in town by any means, but I have pretty lower customers.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I have some great customers. So thanks everyone devoted.
- 7:14Speaker 2: For me, y, you know. And the thing is, you know,
- 7:18Speaker 2: people judge you on your service.
- 7:20Speaker 1: They judge you on the on the product that you produce,
- 7:24Speaker 1: and of course the solutions you provide. And folks, that's
- 7:28Speaker 1: why they call themselves advanced pest solutions because they have
- 7:32Speaker 1: the solution.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And you did your homework on that one when you
- 7:36Speaker 2: came up.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Well, I thought for a while about what I was
- 7:40Speaker 3: going to start. It's pretty good at marketing, so it's you.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Need to build a relationship, the relationship with that solution
- 7:49Speaker 4: without fixing the problem. It doesn't it doesn't work loose people.
- 7:53Speaker 4: So you still have to take care of the problem,
- 7:55Speaker 4: but follow through. Baby, But you got to follow through,
- 7:58Speaker 4: like trying to call people after you do the service,
- 8:00Speaker 4: make sure everything's okay, and just you know, kind of
- 8:04Speaker 4: go to live by the golden rule, which probably there's
- 8:06Speaker 4: certain age group people don't even know what the golden
- 8:08Speaker 4: rule is, which is do as to others.
- 8:10Speaker 3: That you have them doing to you. You know, if
- 8:12Speaker 3: you treat people the way you want to be treated,
- 8:15Speaker 3: it'll come back to you.
- 8:16Speaker 2: World's a great place when that happens.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's how we should live, but it's doesn't seem
- 8:21Speaker 4: to always be that way.
- 8:22Speaker 1: No, no, no, By the way, how do we get
- 8:24Speaker 1: a hold of you? Because I know there are folks
- 8:26Speaker 1: who are just now getting there. Some of them are
- 8:29Speaker 1: getting their electricity back, right, they're noticing a few things, right,
- 8:33Speaker 1: So if they're noticing things for.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Which you have a solution, how do we get a
- 8:38Speaker 2: hold of it.
- 8:38Speaker 4: So you can give us a call at nine one
- 8:40Speaker 4: eight four four zero eight seven nine seven.
- 8:43Speaker 2: That'll be our number.
- 8:44Speaker 4: If we can't get to the phone, we'll call you
- 8:46Speaker 4: right back. Between the phone ringing. I've got two phones,
- 8:49Speaker 4: and there's sometimes they're both ringing at once and I'm pulling.
- 8:53Speaker 3: My hair out. So if I'm bald next time you
- 8:54Speaker 3: see me that that's fin.
- 8:56Speaker 2: We never know because the hat never come somewhere.
- 9:00Speaker 4: And then you can still and then you can go
- 9:03Speaker 4: to either Roachreaper dot com or a pass solution dot
- 9:07Speaker 4: com and we have a pretty nice website. You can
- 9:10Speaker 4: go there and contacts us. You can have people contact
- 9:14Speaker 4: me through Facebook. You can find us on Facebook. But
- 9:17Speaker 4: there's a lot of different ways, and like I say,
- 9:19Speaker 4: we try to work you in as quickly as possible.
- 9:22Speaker 4: Like when we were bombarded. I have hired Jordan, which
- 9:26Speaker 4: was here last month. So Jordan is doing the route
- 9:29Speaker 4: and I'm doing the new services and stuff that comes up,
- 9:33Speaker 4: so we have a more flexible schedule.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Well that's great now that you got a little addition
- 9:37Speaker 1: to the family right that you didn't have to you know,
- 9:40Speaker 1: put through college right exactly. That makes things a little
- 9:44Speaker 1: bit easier on getting folks where they need to.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Be a doesn't it.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Jordan's a great guy.
- 9:52Speaker 4: He worked at another for another big corporation, and he
- 9:56Speaker 4: went to school. He's done it for almost a year
- 9:59Speaker 4: by himself.
- 10:00Speaker 3: And when when he first came up and talked to me, it's.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Like I knew what he was wearing some knew the
- 10:04Speaker 4: company worked for, and he just kind of naturally talked,
- 10:08Speaker 4: and you know, that's that's a gift. Either you have
- 10:10Speaker 4: that ability, you don't when you walk in someone's house,
- 10:13Speaker 4: either you're comfortable with him or you're not. And so
- 10:16Speaker 4: it was really important to me to find someone really
- 10:19Speaker 4: very well trained, very good with people, and it was
- 10:22Speaker 4: service oriented. And in seven months of him helping me,
- 10:27Speaker 4: I've not lost one customer whatsoever.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Due to him.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Probably I've gained a lot, but he's he's done a
- 10:34Speaker 4: really good job. But it's you know, it's it's quite
- 10:36Speaker 4: a transition to go from running your route to having
- 10:40Speaker 4: to manage and and I'm not getting to see my
- 10:43Speaker 4: customers as much as I wanted to.
- 10:45Speaker 3: So that's a little bit of a you know, a
- 10:47Speaker 3: little bit difficult for me.
- 10:48Speaker 5: We need to work on that a little bit. We
- 10:50Speaker 5: need to go see some people.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Yeah, to pace time and reassurance is so very, very
- 10:57Speaker 1: very important.
- 10:58Speaker 3: And you build personal relationships about their kids.
- 11:01Speaker 4: You know, there's a girl family that's on my website
- 11:05Speaker 4: and I just asked her to take a picture, and
- 11:08Speaker 4: you know, she's got two babies now, and we've just
- 11:12Speaker 4: become pretty tight, pretty tight friends.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Well, that's really nice. You know.
- 11:17Speaker 1: The thing is, hometown business never goes out of style,
- 11:21Speaker 1: and when you do local, you do wonders.
- 11:23Speaker 2: You do wonders for everybody.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And you know the value of doing locals that you
- 11:28Speaker 1: know you're going to be here, You're going to be
- 11:29Speaker 1: here the next day, you're going to be here the
- 11:31Speaker 1: next week, you're going to be here the next year.
- 11:33Speaker 1: And we need to make sure that our local businesses
- 11:37Speaker 1: are that way, the money stays.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Here right in our area. It gets reused again and
- 11:42Speaker 2: again in this area.
- 11:43Speaker 1: It's a it's great for the economy, but it's also
- 11:46Speaker 1: good for the heart too, because when you put paces
- 11:48Speaker 1: with names and everything else like that, you just sleep
- 11:51Speaker 1: a little bit better.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Right, And kind of speaking about that, I mean this
- 11:55Speaker 4: is kind of a shout out.
- 11:56Speaker 3: So I do the Journey home.
- 11:58Speaker 4: My dad passed away and he was two years ago,
- 12:01Speaker 4: and you know, there's such an incredible place it is,
- 12:04Speaker 4: so I started doing that. I charged some, but I
- 12:07Speaker 4: don't charge what I typically would. And they have a
- 12:10Speaker 4: fundraiser coming up, you know. So it's it's really amazing
- 12:15Speaker 4: to be able to help people that help people, And
- 12:17Speaker 4: that's if anyone doesn't know, look into it.
- 12:20Speaker 3: It's an amazing place that helps a lot of people
- 12:23Speaker 3: in a bad, bad time.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:25Speaker 1: It probably their most vulnerable. Yeah, and you know, we
- 12:30Speaker 1: know what the journey home is for. But you got
- 12:33Speaker 1: to think of the people who are around, the people
- 12:35Speaker 1: that are serving, right, and it's the families, and they're
- 12:38Speaker 1: so much They not.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Only just put the people up, they actually fix some breakfast,
- 12:42Speaker 4: will fix some dinners. They have a fool of stock kitchen.
- 12:45Speaker 4: They can come in and just fix their own food.
- 12:47Speaker 4: It's it's an amazing, amazing place and there's no charge.
- 12:50Speaker 4: It's just a place to come so that you know,
- 12:54Speaker 4: like my situation was, my mother was wore out. It
- 12:58Speaker 4: gave her a chance to be with the why for
- 13:00Speaker 4: rather than the nurse. It's a difficult, it's a tough situation.
- 13:03Speaker 2: To go through.
- 13:04Speaker 1: And uh, believe me, folks, Uh, those of us who
- 13:08Speaker 1: were the age where we've been through it. Right, just
- 13:11Speaker 1: just take our word for it, Okay, you don't research
- 13:14Speaker 1: too hard, right, it's uh it's hard on the heart,
- 13:17Speaker 1: it's hard on everything, right, And thank you for helping
- 13:20Speaker 1: them out.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I want to Betty in the community.
- 13:24Speaker 4: I think I was I feel blessed to be able
- 13:27Speaker 4: to help them, to be able to you know, they
- 13:29Speaker 4: had they had a lot of a lot of issues
- 13:31Speaker 4: when I started, and we pretty much eliminated all of them.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Out there, way out there on the prairie right right
- 13:39Speaker 1: the prairie between two towns.
- 13:40Speaker 3: That had a few mice and rats. I had a
- 13:43Speaker 3: rat when I first came.
- 13:44Speaker 4: When I first when I my dad was there, there
- 13:48Speaker 4: were some of the people that worked there were freaked out.
- 13:50Speaker 3: So I knew there was a need at that time,
- 13:52Speaker 3: and we just kind of went from there.
- 13:54Speaker 2: It didn't help out. You know, it's an old house,
- 13:56Speaker 2: but by golly, got a lot of love left in Yeah, yeah,
- 14:00Speaker 2: it is. How can what's the phone number we can reach.
- 14:04Speaker 4: It so again, you can call us at nine one
- 14:05Speaker 4: eight four four zero eight seven nine seven, and my
- 14:09Speaker 4: name's Quintin. This is Don and we would love to
- 14:13Speaker 4: help you. You just call and ask us any questions
- 14:15Speaker 4: if you have questions about something. Sometimes that's peace of
- 14:18Speaker 4: mind is a big thing.
- 14:19Speaker 1: It sure is, it sure is. And it's always nice
- 14:22Speaker 1: to know that you're doing work, doing business.
- 14:24Speaker 2: With neighbors and friends.
- 14:25Speaker 1: All Right, I want thank you both for coming in
- 14:27Speaker 1: here today and spending some time with us. I know
- 14:30Speaker 1: that you're about to.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Be very, very busy.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Right as soon as the lights come on, folks are
- 14:36Speaker 1: gonna find out they ain't gonna need to call advance
- 14:40Speaker 1: past solutions, and of course being on one on one
- 14:43Speaker 1: with the pro today. I appreciate you being here
