- PlayBetter: Welcome back everyone to Golf Tech Weekly, presented by Play Better, the best place online to buy golf and sports technology. We have Golf Tech experts here to help you navigate the gear and find exactly what you will need to improve your game. Today we're talking the RapSoto MLM2 Pro and specifically why it has remained an absolute heavy weight in the sub-thousand dollar category and if it is, in fact, the product to buy if you're shopping. That price range. We're going to get into the cold hard truth, the pros, there's lots of those, the cons that ⁓ that maybe aren't quite as well known or talked about, how constant software updates are moving the needle, and a tease of the highly anticipated PC software that is supposed to be coming later this year. I'm Mark Shafortan, joined as always by Daniel Fitzpatrick. Again, this is Gulf Tech Weekly presented by Playbetter. Reminder to everyone, ⁓ if you like the channel to please consider liking this video and giving us a subscribe. ⁓ we've got content coming weekly, ⁓ right along these same lines, and we're gonna keep them coming. ⁓ also a reminder to please hit us up in the comments with ⁓ what you'd like to see in coming episodes. ⁓ I know a lot of people are gonna be interested in this one. Daniel, when you're talking to customers, looking at this price point, how popular is the MLM two pro these days? Super popular, Mark, honestly. ⁓ it's typically a question of what's the best launch monitor under a thousand dollars. And this product is typically the one that is the topic of conversation, ⁓ or at least the one that's getting compared to the most. ⁓ especially for players who want something portable, indoor outdoor. ⁓ you know, want something that's reliable and accurate and something that has been around established in the industry. And continues to get updates. So it's pretty incredible how many ⁓ how many boxes this device checks. And I'm I'm excited to get into this today. I know it's going to be a really positive episode. We're still going to talk about the flaws, ⁓ about maybe some missing pieces we'd like to see, but overall, an insanely awesome product that has incredible value at the end of the day. I agree. No, no reason to bury the headline. It is a very positive report. ⁓ for those who may have missed it, we did a best Golf Launch Monitors under $1,000 dedicated episode. Please consider checking that out. We'll link to it below. And ⁓ inevitably, of course, we arrived at the conclusion that the MLM2 Pro, for the price that you're asked to pay, delivers an incredible value. That doesn't mean that it's the right fit for every single user. And hopefully we're going to identify the people that may be interested in this product and the ones that maybe should consider staying away. But the bottom line is that for more people than not, the MLM2 Pro is a banger. ⁓ now more so than ever, honestly, because the price is at the moment at $599.99. ⁓ that's $100 less than what it originally retailed for. ⁓ should remind everyone that in these three years since it was first released, the product has evolved considerably and gotten quite a lot better. We're we're going to get into what some of those updates have included. ⁓ but it's very ⁓ I I would say it's a good telling indicator that RapSoto has continued to update the product. Also that they haven't yet teased or planned ⁓ any replacement products. And so it does very much look like they're they're leaning in all the way to the MLM two pro ⁓ and going to continue to iterate it to make it ⁓ even better and even more competitive. also a reminder that if five ninety-nine ninety nine isn't cheap enough. Why not pick it up for four ninety nine ninety nine via the certified pre-owned option? So Play Better is the exclusive on the MLM two pro certified pre-owns, ⁓ a reminder that those are fully bench tested, certified, spec'd out by RapSoto themselves, and warranty backed with the same one-year warranty that you would get if you bought a new MLM two pro. So if you can accept the the a broken seal, ⁓ a potential maybe dinged corner on a box or something other like like that that might similarly be a cosmetic damage. ⁓ you have an opportunity to buy what is in essence a a unit that performs exactly the same as a brand new one for only five hundred dollars. So that's a killer killer option. ⁓ let's talk about Daniel just kind of some of those high point positives of what the MLM2 Pro is. Why it is so competitive and so enticing or exciting. Tell us a little bit about kind of ⁓ the secret sauce that makes this device a bit different from some of the competitors. So RapSoto MLM2 Pro, ⁓ it is a you know it's a radar and camera device. So it does sit behind the teeing area. ⁓ it is gonna require a little bit more space, ⁓ but In comparison to other radar products, it actually can sit a little bit closer to the teeing area and still function consistently and accurately. ⁓ it does use the cameras indoors a lot, especially for spin measurement and some of the data capture, even taking really high definition videos of your golf swing of impact. So it is a unique device in the way that it does capture some of those metrics. ⁓ Indoors, if you want ⁓ measured spin rate, you do have to use a specific type of golf ball. They are RPT golf balls, which stand for Rap Soto Precision Technology. It is a specific marking on the golf balls. So it you know, there's only a few manufacturers that do make them, but they are titleist or callaway. So I mean they are premium level golf balls that you're able to use with it. Now you can use it without them, you know, at the driving range. Even indoors, you can use it without them. But you're gonna get more calculated spin rate, which may lose some consistency factor on distances or some of the data. So for the best results, obviously it is suggested to use it. ⁓ but I know we've both tested it both indoors and outdoors, and overall consistency accuracy is pretty damn impressive. even better, obviously, indoors when you do have that measured spin rate. ⁓ But it does differ from a lot of the radar products. You know, other radar products out there will say you have to mark the ball with a metallic sticker or used R C T golf balls. And they even tend to struggle when the swing speed picks up. And the reason for that, Mark, is that, you know, believe it or not, like if you're swinging a golf club over a hundred and ten miles an hour and you hit the golf ball, in eight to ten feet of ball flight, that golf ball may not rotate even one time. So b I mean it's it's kind of crazy to think that way, but you know, with these RPT golf balls, the pattern on the golf ball allow the camera to see how much that ball is moving and measure spin rate effectively, which in turn makes the device very, very accurate. So ⁓ overall again, ⁓ very, very solid product. It does come ⁓ with some subscription, but I think that's a positive thing. ⁓ you know, what you get for the subscription, you get all the data unlocked, the session review history capabilities. The ability to store all the video, almost all the videos you want. I mean, I think it's over 10,000 videos you can store. ⁓ plus the ability just to get in place the simulated golf courses on the native software. It packs so much ammo into what you get out of it. I mean, with the ability to get it a year at a time, two years at a time, lifetime subscription. Yeah they've they've given their users a lot of options and and like you said, Mark, they've they've expanded the software, they've added to the software. And it makes you feel comfortable even as a a past buyer of the product because it kind of makes you feel like, okay, they're not, you know, just taking the money and making a new hardware product and then having us chase after that. They're they're just making this product better and better and better. Right. And it's now a a really useful tool and not just a toy. exactly right. ⁓ y you hit on the accuracy. I think we touched on this in the sub thousand dollar ⁓ episode that we did. It is incredibly accurate. ⁓ for the for the price, ⁓ especially indoors if you're using the RPT balls, ⁓ it's actually amazing. ⁓ I put it up against a a G C three when I was testing and ⁓ it was shockingly accurate. ⁓ it is the only sub thousand dollar launch monitor that is using both cameras and radar technology. So we see ⁓ you know mostly in that class we see competing products that are using just radar. ⁓ or we have the you know the Square Home edition that ⁓ is using camera and infrared sensors. But to have ⁓ that ⁓ that kind of dual setup of of the of the cameras plus the radar affords it a lot of really great advantages as far as tracking ⁓ the ball and even delivering some kind of additional features that again make it very competitive. two of them being that you get ⁓ a full ⁓ down the line swing replay, video replay automatically. ⁓ and you also get a slow motion impact vision. ⁓ and these things happen after each shot i without you having to use a external camera. Now if you do want to use your phone and and set it up to get an additional camera angle, ⁓ you can do that, which is awesome. So you could simply set your phone up on a tripod across from you and and that now all of a sudden you'd have simultaneously synced ⁓ down the line and face on camera angles ⁓ with very minimal setup, another big advantage. ⁓ just a ton to love about ⁓ what this thing can do. Also the build quality we should talk about. For the under a thousand dollar price point, sometimes we get into some build quality that, you know, might be s adequate or or nice, but not necessarily really robust or kind of almost military grade feeling. ⁓ The MLM2 Pro is very, very well built. ⁓ I also like the way it's designed ergonomically. I like the way it screws into the tripod and sets up. Find the setup to be very easy. ⁓ I will say that as far as the look of the device outdoors on a driving range, it it calls a little bit more attention to itself than some other devices because it does sit so high off the ground on that tripod. So if discretion is what you're going for, ⁓ this maybe isn't the perfect option for that. ⁓ very, very portable. Also we'll say that I think in terms of the carrying case game, ⁓ it wins big there. I look at a a product like the the Garmin Approach R ten, which is ⁓ even more compact the than the ⁓ L ⁓ two Pro, and yet they ruin it by putting it in ⁓ in a carrying case that feels as if it's ten times larger than the product itself, all of a sudden I can't very easily fit it into my golf bag. With the ⁓ L ⁓ two Pro, very sleek carrying case that I can easily fit into my golf bag, so it's a very portable product. ⁓ you mentioned, ⁓ Daniel, that this has evolved from more than just a range tool into a full on, fully capable Golf simulator. Can you talk about kind of some of those sim compatibility options that are included? Yeah, so it does require premium membership to get into any type of of simulator ⁓ capabilities, but The simulator capabilities that come just on the native software, if you're talking quantity of courses, it's awesome. I mean, there's over thirty thousand courses you can play. I will say the graphics, ⁓ and we'll get on into this a little bit later, for right now, not the best, but that's because everything's powered by iPad. So not a PC option with it right now. So the graphics are gonna be ⁓ not quite as as visually pleasing as you may see in other softwares. But with that premium membership. You can get into third party softwares then too. So you're talking GS Pro, you're talking E6 Connect, any of these other third parties that are really kind of spreading the masses among launch monitors, it's integrated with. ⁓ plus the one thing you have to note is that it does not offer putting. So it is going to be more of an auto putt or ⁓ you know, pick your putt type of style when you're playing rounds of golf. For some people, that could be a deal breaker. For most people who play simulator golf, you quickly realize putting isn't the most important or most fun part of the game anyway. I will say, like GS Pro, you can hook up webcam putting. So there are ways to do it. It obviously requires additional things and and stuff that you could do, but for the most part, putting not an option within simulation. ⁓ I will say though, like overall, like using it for a sim piece, it's honestly awesome. Just like using it as a practice tool. ⁓ There's a reason that it's popular as a dual purpose type device. Yeah. The ⁓ you know, they relatively recently announced the native GS Pro integration, and that was a really big deal. ⁓ and just as you say, that's become a very popular pathway to GS Pro. Quick shout out to last week's episode where we had a GS Pro course designer on. ⁓ would really encourage everyone to check that out if you have even a passing interest in what's involved in designing a virtual golf course. ⁓ on the GS Pro platform. Pretty fascinating stuff, I have to say. ⁓ but yeah, ⁓ you can use the MLM Two Pro to play GS Pro, ⁓ E6 Connect, Awesome Golf, and then just as Daniel said, their own native sim software, RapSoto Courses, gives you more than thirty thousand courses ⁓ worldwide. ⁓ probably would you say Daniel, kind of akin to Home T Hero as far as kind of the the graphic fidelity quality. Yeah, without the ⁓ without the enhanced golf course list that they've pushed out recently, obviously, but I I do think very similar like to the most of the courses you'd find in Home T Hero. I I think that's a great comparison, honestly, overall. Yeah. And also, too, when we're talking sim ⁓ you know ⁓ again, th you you have to have a accurate golf launch monitor if you want to have an accurate or realistic sim experience, right? I mean The ⁓ if if you're getting bad data, you're gonna be getting bad ball flights and and all kinds of things that are not going to approximate what you would actually see out on a real golf course. ⁓ so it's important to note that the MLM2 Pro gives you 15 ⁓ data metrics and eight of those are directly measured. So they're directly measuring ball speed, club speed, launch angle, launch direction, spin rate, spin access. And then last year they added, and this was huge, they added directly measured club path. and angle of attack, not estimated, but directly measured. They did that without raising the price, which was a huge, huge win in a big, big competitive boost up for this product. Now they do calculate seven metrics. So you're getting a calculated ⁓ carry distance, total distance, smash factor, although I don't know, I guess you call that a calculation. They're directly measuring ball speed and club speed, so I guess they calculate the smash factor, but ⁓ apex, descent angle, side carry, and your shot type. so ⁓ again, just kind of ⁓ I I guess to beat a dead horse, but the thing is very accurate and that really lends itself to a very accurate sim experience. Yeah. Totally. Yeah, and I think honestly for this price point to confirm that they're measuring some of these metrics and especially the big ones like angle of attack, club path, I mean that's a huge, huge thing. I mean, these these type of devices, almost all of them are are calculating carry distance, even outdoors on the range. Now they'll measure it for a certain period of time. ⁓ but ⁓ it to see all of these metrics that are directly measured and they're confident in publishing that information, that's awesome. And they've proven to be accurate, which backs up their their ability to do that. So it may again it just adds to the value. And if you're a if you're a user who really wants to work on on dispersion and trying to tighten up your golf shots and and not lose golf balls that frequently. Angle of attack and club path are two great things to work on. Yep. Yep. Yeah. So, anyways, you can see why there's so much reason to be excited. You can see why it's a very easy recommendation, at least on the surface. ⁓ but that doesn't mean that it's necessarily the perfect solution for every type of golfer. ⁓ let's identify what might be some of the drawbacks that potentially are a little lesser known or ⁓ that might not show up in just kind of an internet headline. Yeah, certainly. So every obviously every device, no nobody's perfect, right? If there was a perfect launch monitor, all these other companies would go out of business, especially in this consumer price and what we feel is under under the thousand dollar mark. ⁓ the the cons are certainly there's not very many of them to be honest. Right. But there are a few. ⁓ the first one we did mention a little bit earlier would be the no putting during simulation. ⁓ While it might not be a con for everybody, it is something that we have to mention and say that it's just not an option for the most part in in golf simulations. So, ⁓ you know, when you get to the green, you're gonna have to do some form of an auto putt or pick your putt where you maybe you have to choose how many putts you wanna add to each person's score. So it doesn't give you the full simulation experience at the end of the day. Yeah. ⁓ You know, I mean in your experience, do you do a lot of putting when you play simulation golf? I I do sometimes, but just not full. I mean, I I have still have a gimme circle, you know. Yep. I I'm not one of those that is ⁓ there are quite a lot of sim golfers that are just straight up no putting on on on the sim. ⁓ and I have to say I actually I get that. I do get that stance because when you do but and it depends on your setup of course and depends what kind of match you ha you're using and and and of course what kind of launch monitor you're using. But ⁓ it is fair to say that even if you do enjoy haul out, ⁓ the putting is kind of the least engaging part of the sim experience. ⁓ so yeah, I'm I'm a sometimes guy and I am definitely the type of guy that is not bothered by the fact that the MLM two pro doesn't do putting. So Yeah, and I'll I'll listen. I putting is probably one of the worst parts of my normal golf game and putting on a simulator is ten times harder. So it's just it's a it's a skill you have to develop and I think it's just ⁓ something where you kind of just shake it off when you you know, you feel like you've ⁓ I could have made that, but whatever. It's simulator putting. So it's it's just kind of a thing. Once you once you get in and and play enough simulator rounds of golf, it's not as important. But to some users we we have to list it as a con just because some users are gonna want that feature, obviously. I will say something too, ⁓ as far as cons go, it's not something that I ⁓ I really recognized immediately when using the device, but after I was hitting balls for a while, there is a s slight shot lag time ⁓ or or shot latency from when you hit the shot to when it shows on the screen. ⁓ it's not huge. I would compare it probably to like Skytrack. I think it's very similar to Skytrack as far as shot to show time. Yep. ⁓ and again, if you're a user who's never owned a launch monitor, it may be something that you don't notice at all. We've mentioned that about other launch monitors that have lag times. But ⁓ it is something just to note there there is a couple second delay, probably I would say around two seconds just on average. Yep. ⁓ higher ball speeds, it is gonna get a little bit longer, but overall there there is a slight shot latency with the device. What's your experience with that, Mark? Yeah, I think you I think you nailed it with the Skytrack Plus being the the easy comparison there. ⁓ in fact there's you know, there's some Rap Soto technology in the Skytrack Plus and S T Max and that might be exactly why those things are so similar. But Yeah, one to two second shot delay. I don't personally think it's a huge deal. You and I have talked before about how we're spoiled and have had the opportunity to ⁓ test and use devices that that really really ⁓ show you that shot to show immediately and you do get spoiled when you have that experience. We've also talked about kind of the other extreme of that, something like the new Blue Tees Rainmaker, ⁓ which is ⁓ kind of taking some hits right now for among other reasons, having such a lengthy shot to show time. ⁓ in that case, you know, we measured it at closer to six seconds. ⁓ so all of a sudden one to two seconds feels relatively immediate. and I would say that ⁓ that the MLM two pro that's not a standout con to me, but it is a good one to identify because it is real. ⁓ and there are devices that do show show the shot faster. Yeah. Yeah, and I think I'm fine with a slight shot delay if the data's accurate. Which it is. So, you know, I think that's okay. You know, if it's gonna take some time to get me the data, as long as it's accurate, I'll I'll sit there and wait for it for a few seconds. That's no problem to me. That's the bottom line. That's the bottom line. ⁓ I totally agree with that. ⁓ now for for what might be ⁓ a more headline con for for some people, ⁓ would be that subscription tier. And and I do think it's it's important to ⁓ kind of w talk through this because I think on the one hand ⁓ there's so much to be excited about and and ⁓ and happy about regarding ⁓ the premium membership and all that it delivers. On the other hand, the problem is is that while you can use the MLM2 Pro ⁓ to get a basic ⁓ shot reading functionality, ⁓ the reality is is you would not buy this product if you didn't want some of the advanced features and all of them are hiding behind that premium subscription. Point being that unless this thing is given to you as a gift, ⁓ I really think that you probably should be budgeting for that premium subscription. and as you said, there's some some good news there in terms of how they offer it to you. They give you some choices. So you've got a an option to buy a one year ⁓ subscription for one ninety nine ninety nine, ⁓ two year membership for three twenty nine ninety nine, or a lifetime unlock for five ninety nine ninety nine, six hundred bucks. ⁓ you do get a forty-five day free trial included with purchase. ⁓ but I think it's important to note, this is a product that to me, you buy this thing, the way it's built, the way it's continued to be supported, the way that there is no new wrap soto around the corner or being announced that indicates to us that this is gonna be around for a while. To me, you buy an MLM two pro and you should expect to use it for a few years at least. ⁓ I think personally. And so I look at the lifetime unlock as the best option there. ⁓ again, to each their own, but that's how I see it. And so I see it as six hundred dollars for that lifetime unlock. The problem becomes if I thought the device cost five hundred dollars or six hundred dollars, all of a sudden it costs in reality twice that. And now all of a sudden we're not even talking under one thousand dollars anymore. And so that's something that is you know, just being completely fair and transparent. Some people would knock this product as not even belonging in the sub thousand dollar category. I don't think that's fair if you if you pencil it all out and you and you compare it to other competing op competing options that that have their own subscription tiers. ⁓ but just just kinda lay it out there and call it like it is. Got any thoughts on that? Yeah, I agree. Yeah. I mean that you know, once you do most people obviously are probably gonna go for that lifetime because Let's face it, a launch monitor is typically a four to five year investment. ⁓ and that's typically about when you see product cycles. So ⁓ it is ⁓ it is nice that they offer the lifetime, even if you need to budget it and you need to go one or two years. If you break that down, I mean the two years that's like thirteen dollars a month. So it really isn't that crazy when you think about it. ⁓ plus for what you get out of it. Again, there is a subscription paywall. So A lot of customers in that sub thousand dollar market are gonna say, I don't want subscriptions, and that's totally fine. We're getting hit with subscriptions every way we look in today's electronics world. ⁓ but when you look at what you get out of it, it it almost becomes a positive just because that's how you really get into this device. Yes, you could get it and not pay the subscription and you can still use it. It can still be a driving range tool and you can still use it to get data. But if you want all the features and to get it, like you said, Mark, like to get the device for what you probably were buying the device for, you you want to pay that subscription and you wanna get into it. And and obviously the best value is that that lifetime. But even if you have to break down into the one or the two years, like we said, it it honestly, it overall, it's pretty affordable. Definitely affordable. Still important to note because ⁓ you know, one thing we wanna do here is kind of think through ⁓ how this compares to other options. And you take something like the Square Home Edition, a lot of people like that product, same same kind of or similarly priced to the MLM2 Pro. People like that as a gateway to GS Pro. And one of the reasons they like it is that you are not asked to pay a subscription beyond what you're gonna pay to GS Pro, $250 a year to GS Pro. Well the MLM Two Pro is one of those devices that to play GS Pro or E6 Connect or any of the other third party ⁓ software, you do have to pay the premium subscription. So they kind of ⁓ kind of have you locked up that way. and so I totally, totally agree with you, Daniel. If you look at this from a by month ⁓ perspective or pay one time and and forget that forget that it was even a a a trouble, ⁓ not a huge deal, but important to note because you know you might come to this looking at something that you thought cost five or six hundred dollars only to realize that it costs, you know, potentially twelve hundred dollars. ⁓ and so ⁓ just certainly something to be aware of. Definitely not suggesting that the value's not there. I think the value is still abundantly there, ⁓ even at the full price of twelve hundred dollars, ⁓ lifetime unlocked, ⁓ pretty crazy. You know, just just thinking again about what it's all directly measuring and to get th th some of those things like the the club path ⁓ and the the angle of attack ⁓ You know, those are things that you gotta step up to something that's over two thousand dollars typically to get. So I mean, right there alone, just in naming a couple of metrics, ⁓ you can already see where this is something that's a candidate for a for a serious player or somebody that's interested in actual real quality data. so yeah. ⁓ definitely ⁓ definitely some cool stuff. ⁓ now ⁓ ⁓ what's coming next? ⁓ we were at the PGA show and Rhapsoto was ⁓ demoing ⁓ kind of teasing a new PC version of their software. ⁓ what do you remember about what we learned about that, Daniel? Yeah, so we we spent quite a bit of time ⁓ at the Rap Soto booth. ⁓ they they were pretty ⁓ pretty proud and they should be about this ⁓ this new release. I think this has been anticipated and wanted by by MLM two pro customers for a while now. ⁓ But to get the PC software option is gonna be awesome. ⁓ now they weren't direct or completely sure if there's gonna be additional fees for this or things like that. So ⁓ that probably is yet to be seen on the exact access to get into it. But holy cow, I mean, honestly, when we were hitting balls and even just playing a few holes and we did like ⁓ close to the pin, I think they had ⁓ the hole at Pebble Beach was number six or seven. Seven. ⁓ yeah, the the one yeah, the downhill part three next to the ocean. And I hit wedge after wedge and I I almost made a hole in one even on it. ⁓ but it honestly, when I was looking at it, I thought we were playing GS Pro. Honestly, like the graphics of it were so impressive. ⁓ it is gonna require a gaming PC to run it, so there are gonna be some some hardware requirements to get into it as well. But honestly, the graphics of it, the the playability, I I literally thought I was playing GS Pro at first glance. It looked that good. That's awesome. And and explain kind of the context of why this is exciting or important. The reason being that, you know, the the MLM two pro previous to this was was somewhat limited in that regard. Yeah? Yeah. So it was like an iOS only type device, tablet, ⁓ like an iPad basically. And it's a wireless connection. And we didn't mention this in the cons, but the one the one rumored problem or or things that we get calls about ⁓ in the customer service side a lot are connection issues. And having ⁓ I believe it's a Bluetooth connection between the device and the and the iPad, when you're sending that much information wirelessly, there tends to be connection drops. That's not just Rap Soto, that's literally every product on the market. Right. So with the PC capabilities, we're now gonna get a USB C direct connection option. ⁓ so we can just cord it, cable it right to the Rap Soto. I think that's gonna be a big help ⁓ to avoid any of those type of connection issues that some issue or some some users may have encountered. but man, the the graphics, even just on the driving range, the graphics were awesome. ⁓ and it gives you that more of that real feel ⁓ of playing outdoors, honestly. So ⁓ I was really impressed by it. Like I said, we were I was just seeing it on TV screens and I'm like, ⁓ okay, these guys are you know, these guys in front of us are they're playing GS Pro or they're doing something with GS Pro. And then we got in there and they told us, no, this is our this is the beta of our new PC software and it was kinda like, ⁓ wow, this is this is really cool. It kinda makes me wonder how many courses they're gonna have ⁓ and what they're gonna put into it, because I'm sure it's gonna be ⁓ quite an advancement over what their current software already is. Yeah, just another kind of evolution that just just kind of goes to show that this product has ⁓ has got a lot of life left in it. ⁓ that really does open it up to an even wider range of possible fits. Who do you see the MLM Two Pro as being the right fit for, Daniel? Yeah, I mean like currently it's it's great for that at home sim golfer, person who wants to work on their game and have practice features ⁓ closest to the pin, skills combine type things. ⁓ once we add in some PC software like this, it's an all around launch monitor that's perfect for anybody who wants to use it indoors and outdoors. ⁓ it's literally gonna be a perfect golf sim solution. ⁓ I think it can do just as much damage at that point as what like the Square ⁓ was doing, honestly. ⁓ with more features in their native software, honestly, because the Square is great to get into G S Pro, but their self practice and game improvement features are kind of non existing. So ⁓ All around launch monitor wise, again, it's requiring a subscription, but like we've said, when you get that much for the subscription, it it instantly, in my opinion, becomes worth it. So right now I think it's, you know, maybe a little bit limited on what it's good for as far as ⁓ every target market. But once this PC software comes out, I I think it's like there that you're kind of crazy to look at some of these higher end launch monitors and and not consider MLM two pro. Yeah, yeah. We'll have to see what the fee ⁓ ask is going to be and and how that kind of maths against the competition. But you're right, it's it's got it's kind of foreboding to the to the competitors because, you know, the ⁓ L ⁓ Two Pro before that was already ⁓ gosh, I mean, kind of a no brainer for a lot of people. And just as you say, that just makes it ⁓ It's kind of like the nuclear option there that they're that they're dropping. Let's talk through very quickly just kind of some of those obvious comparisons. ⁓ how do you see it stacking up against something like the R ten, the Rainmaker, the SC four pro, Mivo Gen two? Anything else you want throw in there? Yeah, right away I think the first comparison you see obviously is ⁓ is the Garmin R ten, ⁓ and and even S C four pro because pricing is very similar. ⁓ you know, S C four pro and You know, it doesn't really have subscription. It comes with some courses, ⁓ has the built-in screen. So it has some certain features that are good to its own. But you know, when you compare them accuracy-wise to each other, MLM two pro wins. ⁓ and then even like Garmin R ten, it's like, you know, golf course wise, subscription is pretty similar at the end of the day. but MLM two pro is more accurate, it measures directly more metrics. And overall there's more practice features and self game improvement within that subscription. So again, comparing the two from a simulator perspective, the all three of those are are very similar. You're playing rounds of golf, you're not getting putting. ⁓ you're getting, you know, MLM two pro and and R ten, you get way more courses to play. ⁓ but if you want the graphics like E six connect that that SC4 comes with, then you can get it just paying for that additional software with MLM two pro. So ⁓ you know overall in that in that price range, it it beats everybody right now, honestly. you know blue tease is trying, but unfortunately the shot lag and the accuracy, because it's such a new product, it's got some ground to make up to to get into the conversation, unfortunately. ⁓ I actually look at at realistically like the the biggest comparison if you pay for the lifetime subscription The biggest comparison is probably Flightscope Mevo Gen two, ⁓ just because of what you have to pay, and then you're pretty much at the same price, but you're still getting a ton more data. You're getting more golf courses to play. ⁓ you're having a little bit less space required to use it with MLM two pro in comparison. So the it's just such a perfect price and unique blend of features and data that it it it's it just kind of wins every comparison right now. Yeah, yeah. I I'd say there's still, you know, if you're if you're already team Garmin and you're wearing another Garmin device or you're using other Garmin products, ⁓ there's still plenty of reason to be interested in the Garmin R ten. ⁓ same thing if you're already in the Blue Tease camp and you're looking for a connected ecosystem experience. Rainmaker is struggling right now, but assuming that they get some of these things fixed and the product continues to evolve, that still is your ⁓ your most affordable connected ecosystem experience. So still an opportunity to buy a product like that. ⁓ again, if you want a built-in display, the Rainmaker or the SC4 Pro are better options than the Rap Soto MLM 2 Pro. ⁓ If you're tight on space and you need that sit by the side ⁓ optical device and you want to keep it under a thousand dollars, that's where the Square Home Edition comes into play. So those products still have their place in the market. ⁓ the the Mevo Gen two, if you're willing to pay up for the face impact ⁓ detection and the pro package ⁓ unlocks an incredible suite of of analysis opportunities, but it's gonna cost you more once again than the initial sticker price. ⁓ so I I mean there's there's reasons for these other products to still have their place and for people to want to buy them, but just as you say, when we just look at kind of removing those other variables and we compare the MLM two pro to these other products just kind of straight up, it's really hard to find flaws in the MLM two pro. And and and really that's why we wanted to make this video. That's why we wanted to call it out specifically. Also because the timing is right. ⁓ it now being six hundred dollars as opposed to seven hundred dollars and you having the opportunity to buy that certified pre-owned unit, good as new, warranty backed, saving another $100, bringing it down to $500. I mean damn, that that makes it really, really compelling and a pretty hard thing to argue against, I would say. yeah. So ⁓ certainly a lot ⁓ a lot of reasons to consider ⁓ the MLM two pro. would you say Daniel, considering everything, are you comfortable calling it ⁓ the king of the of the under thousand dollar launch monitors at this point? Right now it absolutely is. you know, I I think that ⁓ like we said, you know, we we had hope for for Bluetooth Rainmaker and I still do. I think that, you know, their software looks pretty impressive at to to the v to the naked eye and everything. But ⁓ yeah, just everything you get with it, ⁓ the accuracy, what it's measuring directly. sure it has some requirements for setup to make sure that it's working the way that it should or the way that you'd want it to, but every launch monitor does, right? So less than a thousand bucks, if you want something that you're always gonna be happy with and and you know checks a lot of boxes, there there's a reason why we sell so many of these is th it's just it's honestly it's just a damn good launch monitor and you get really good value for it. And honestly, it just keeps getting better, like we've talked about. They continue to invest the money that you give them into their software to make it better for you, the user at home. Yep. Yep. ⁓ reminder to everyone, if you are interested in learning more about the MLM2 Pro, ⁓ please check out some of our YouTube content specific to that device.
