- 2:14SPEAKER_01: So we're going to run them down the line.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 2:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Yo, first and foremost, you know, we got to, baby, you got to tell everybody where you're from.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: You know, as I understand.
- 2:27SPEAKER_04: That's it.
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: Uh, Hollyhood Baby, better known as A Babe, Ghetto Fabulous Baby, Off the Chain, Bebe, High Energy Baby.
- 2:40SPEAKER_04: Um, just Bebe from Shreveport, Louisiana, born and raised, now residing in Dallas, Texas, and um, man, we hold it down for Louisiana and Texas.
- 2:50SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 2:51SPEAKER_04: Baby hitters.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: That's what we're setting up.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Now we're setting the tone.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: Now we're setting the tone.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: And and I I myself, I've always been interested in that at where you from, what you rep in, but like, you don't just rep one spot though, right, baby?
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: You rep that whole entire scene down there.
- 3:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, it's it's a whole, yeah, a whole region, the whole states.
- 3:09SPEAKER_04: I got two states, Louisiana and Texas.
- 3:12SPEAKER_04: Dallas, Houston, Austin.
- 3:14SPEAKER_04: Love it.
- 3:15SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's and and the whole boot.
- 3:17SPEAKER_04: So, I mean, it's kind of big.
- 3:19SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 3:21SPEAKER_03: I want to thank, I want to thank a gentleman by the name of Renee.
- 3:25SPEAKER_03: I don't know his last name, but he works with 50 Cent.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: He's the one that put your name to my ear, and he was like, You gotta see this dude.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 3:35SPEAKER_03: Yo, this guy, at his birthday party, he controls the audience, the people, like no one you've ever seen before in your life.
- 3:46SPEAKER_03: I'm like, what do you mean?
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: He's like, yo, he does this thing like do the Ray Charles, and he does do the Ray Charles, right?
- 3:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but he says the magical part about your birthday party was when you told everybody to freeze, and the bartenders are in mid-pouring and they stop.
- 4:08SPEAKER_03: Like, yo, my man, I've seen the club, I've seen the greatest entertainers do their thing, but how do you get the people to do that the way you get them to do it?
- 4:20SPEAKER_04: Um I don't really know, but it's like it's it's a special gift.
- 4:29SPEAKER_04: I think like people have always been tapped into the charismatic part of Bebe, the person.
- 4:35SPEAKER_04: Like, like energy.
- 4:37SPEAKER_04: I don't need anything to get me going.
- 4:40SPEAKER_04: I'm already on 10.
- 4:43SPEAKER_04: The energy, high frequency already, and and that resonates with a lot of people.
- 4:48SPEAKER_04: It has resonated with a lot of people.
- 4:50SPEAKER_04: So um, if I encourage them to be superheroes no longer have to show their superpowers, they show others theirs.
- 5:02SPEAKER_04: So I encourage people to be the best version of themselves, and that that is taking me over.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: And you know what the interesting thing is?
- 5:12SPEAKER_03: You don't yell at anybody, you don't scream at anybody.
- 5:16SPEAKER_03: No, you just talk to them and get it done.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: No, but I but it is contagious because babe's energy is contagious.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: Like, he's having a good ass time, and he just wants you to join him.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: Like, you get what I'm saying?
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: Like, that's it.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: I honestly think Bebe walks into a room and he has his energy, and I'm just talking about any type of room.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Listen, we've been on a bus ride with him, and everybody's quiet, tired, get into location, we're on a trip, on that bus ride and turns that motherfucker up.
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: Yo, but we do the simplest things though.
- 5:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:55SPEAKER_03: Like no, we we play concentration games that were with us since we were children.
- 6:02SPEAKER_03: And he has grown ass men and women playing these games.
- 6:06SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 6:07SPEAKER_03: And we have the most incredible magical times with it.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: Yo, we've been in a restaurant, and he just his it's that energy, is all eyes on him, and it's just I don't know what it is.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: I can't, I can't, like you say, you don't even know what it is, but it's that energy.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: We'd be in a pool in the middle of the pool, and then you have the staff from the pool who just join us because this man is delivering this special type of energy.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: It's crazy, man.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a gift.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: I guess it's a gift from God, man.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: Baby, you always been like that, baby?
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: You always been like that?
- 6:36SPEAKER_04: Like Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:37SPEAKER_04: From from a child.
- 6:38SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 6:39SPEAKER_04: Two years old.
- 6:40SPEAKER_04: I've I've been on the stage since I was two.
- 6:42SPEAKER_04: Um I went to private school.
- 6:44SPEAKER_04: Um, so I was into religion early.
- 6:47SPEAKER_04: That's where I got my consciousness from.
- 6:50SPEAKER_04: Um went to private school all the way up to like to the highest level because they cut off like at eighth, no, like tenth grade, when I had to transfer over and go to public school.
- 7:01SPEAKER_04: Now that's where I got my rude awakening because in private school we was in one class all day.
- 7:08SPEAKER_04: So that's where we learned math, science, history, social study, all that, right?
- 7:13SPEAKER_04: So when I transferred over and went to public school, that's when we you had to learn like accountability, be on time, first hour, second hour, third hour, fourth hour, fifth hour.
- 7:24SPEAKER_04: I was late halftime out.
- 7:25SPEAKER_04: I was a whole train wreck.
- 7:27SPEAKER_04: So in private school, I was used to getting a certain amount It was structure.
- 7:33SPEAKER_04: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 7:35SPEAKER_04: So so that's what happened then, but I've always been like that.
- 7:38SPEAKER_04: I just think I came into finding out who I was early.
- 7:43SPEAKER_04: A lot of people, it takes them a long time to figure out who they are in life.
- 7:48SPEAKER_04: You feel me?
- 7:49SPEAKER_04: Um, and I've always been stuck with what I'm doing now.
- 7:52SPEAKER_04: The biggest joy is making other people smile, finding out themselves.
- 7:56SPEAKER_04: I have a saying, if you don't feed the wolves, you'll end up on the menu.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: So, so going back, since we're in those days, how did you get how did you get your start?
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Like, you know what I'm saying?
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: What was the thing that made you go, you know what?
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: I want to focus on music, I want to entertain, I want to be DJ, I want to be on the mic, I want to do all of this stuff.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: So, so you remember the brick dancing and the turbo and all that stuff there?
- 8:18SPEAKER_04: Like, yeah.
- 8:19SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 8:19SPEAKER_04: Like, yeah, my brother was a um a break dancer.
- 8:24SPEAKER_04: And so I looked up to my brother, um, his name is E.T.
- 8:28SPEAKER_04: E.T.
- 8:28SPEAKER_04: looks like we eight years apart, but he was my big brother, my protector.
- 8:33SPEAKER_04: And they used to go and dance and do the dance battles.
- 8:35SPEAKER_04: Um turbo, ozone, break-in, you know, all of that stuff.
- 8:42SPEAKER_04: Like that was the inspiration for them.
- 8:44SPEAKER_04: And then my brother would teach me, and I would steal his moves, and and I would go out and start the battles, and then be like, you know, if the guys got too too tough for me, I'm going to get big brother.
- 8:54SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 8:58SPEAKER_05: That's cool.
- 8:58SPEAKER_04: Hey, sometimes you just get beat up too.
- 9:00SPEAKER_04: I used to I used to get beat up when I was little, right?
- 9:02SPEAKER_04: So when they beat me up, I go get big brother.
- 9:04SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 9:05SPEAKER_04: But it all came from the battle, and and and I just learned, it's a lot of stuff I learned early on, and I knew that people initially, they're they don't they don't have the courage to step out on faith early.
- 9:21SPEAKER_04: So I credit that to going to private school and and then learning that.
- 9:24SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 9:25SPEAKER_04: Learning that early.
- 9:27SPEAKER_04: And then just leave with love, man.
- 9:29SPEAKER_04: I'm the type of teacher to give you an A on the first day of school.
- 9:32SPEAKER_04: When I meet people, shake.
- 9:35SPEAKER_04: But do you know that that is the hardest grading system?
- 9:39SPEAKER_04: Because you don't know what the fuck you did to get the A.
- 9:42SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 9:42SPEAKER_04: And that's the hardest shit to keep.
- 9:45SPEAKER_04: That's how I do my relationships.
- 9:47SPEAKER_04: My relationships is like.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: Got it.
- 9:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know, you lead with love and you let that person set the tone for.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: That's actually, that's actually, I've never really thought about it like that.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: Instead of you, like, when you meet somebody, you kind of like start a bridge where you gotta almost have them earn your trust.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: But like you're saying, if you lead with that and you could watch them deteriorate that trust, that actually tells you tells you a better idea of what that person is.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: That's actually a gem right there.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: I never even thought about that.
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: So they start with a hundred and then you just yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:21SPEAKER_04: I let people do what they want to do, so they show me what they rather do.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 10:28SPEAKER_03: Good job, baby.
- 10:30SPEAKER_03: Good job.
- 10:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: And I will say, baby, you can tell, because like we all said, you went to the room and this, that, and the third.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: And like, like, and and even if you're down, we can't tell.
- 10:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, we don't have we don't have bad days, man.
- 10:42SPEAKER_04: I might have a bad moment.
- 10:43SPEAKER_04: Right, okay.
- 10:44SPEAKER_04: I might have a bad moment when I'm disappointed about something where I thought this was gonna be that, and then that didn't go out.
- 10:50SPEAKER_04: Like, ah shit.
- 10:51SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 10:52SPEAKER_04: But you know what?
- 10:52SPEAKER_04: Maybe it's my fault because I held them too high.
- 10:55SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 10:55SPEAKER_04: I put them on a pedestal.
- 10:57SPEAKER_04: So um, like some of the biggest disappointments is being disappointed because you wanted the best for this person, and and you find out that they didn't want it.
- 11:05SPEAKER_04: It didn't turn out that way, right?
- 11:07SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 11:08SPEAKER_04: So, you know, the the biggest, and I'm gonna tell y'all this here, and I'm being transparent as fuck.
- 11:14SPEAKER_04: The heavy hitters are a fucking, it's a brotherhood that I didn't even know I needed and I wanted it.
- 11:23SPEAKER_04: Because you guys are like me.
- 11:26SPEAKER_04: You got your own shit.
- 11:27SPEAKER_04: See, down here in the South, babe is always the leader, you know what I'm saying?
- 11:31SPEAKER_04: And always having, you know, you know what I'm saying, always ahead.
- 11:35SPEAKER_04: Like, you know, I'm first to run, and you know, hey, let's let's get it going, you know what I'm saying?
- 11:39SPEAKER_04: When I when I ran into the heavy hitters, y'all were kind of like that.
- 11:44SPEAKER_04: Inside of everybody, it was this big ass kid that wanted to come out to play.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: Well, let's get into that.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: Let's get into that.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: How the heavy hitters happen.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Like, okay.
- 11:55SPEAKER_04: You remember, baby?
- 11:57SPEAKER_04: Um, all I knew is, let me tell you something about your logo.
- 12:02SPEAKER_04: That logo with that bat was the dopest and coolest shit that attracted me in Chicago.
- 12:12SPEAKER_04: Enough was the DJ on 106 and Park, right?
- 12:17SPEAKER_04: Pretty, yo, who the fuck is that?
- 12:21SPEAKER_04: And I was looking.
- 12:23SPEAKER_03: I told you I was big in Shreveport.
- 12:24SPEAKER_03: I told you.
- 12:25SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 12:27SPEAKER_04: I told y'all, I told y'all.
- 12:29SPEAKER_04: Cast one, you, Boogs, Camela don't, y'all don't even have, and that's the beauty of it.
- 12:34SPEAKER_04: We'll never be able to see how we're viewed to the massives.
- 12:39SPEAKER_04: Like, I don't know my impact on y'all.
- 12:41SPEAKER_04: All I know is y'all just be happy as fuck to see me when you see me, right?
- 12:44SPEAKER_04: But I don't know.
- 12:45SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 12:46SPEAKER_04: So what enough was, when I saw enough, I caught him in the hallway getting ready to catch an elevator.
- 12:53SPEAKER_04: And he didn't even know he was like a god to me.
- 12:56SPEAKER_04: Like, I'm keep in mind we don't have the trains.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: We everybody in the south, we drive, right?
- 13:05SPEAKER_04: So seeing him was like I meant the motherfucker that controlled the soundtrack to the TV 106 and park that we used to run home and we gotta see who the fuck is on.
- 13:21SPEAKER_04: Like, that shit was big.
- 13:22SPEAKER_04: That shit is so big and it was so impactful.
- 13:25SPEAKER_04: So for me to see enough, and he was so fucking genuine, bro.
- 13:28SPEAKER_04: I caught up in the elevator.
- 13:29SPEAKER_04: I was like, yo, hey man, can I take a picture?
- 13:32SPEAKER_04: And I still got this picture somewhere in my phone to this day.
- 13:36SPEAKER_04: Me and Enough taking that picture.
- 13:40SPEAKER_04: I went back home.
- 13:41SPEAKER_04: No, before I went back home, they had a softball game in Chicago.
- 13:46SPEAKER_04: I think y'all were playing the Bomb Squad DJs.
- 13:48SPEAKER_04: We were softball.
- 13:50SPEAKER_04: I don't know how they got all y'all in Chicago, but y'all was down there in that damn softball game.
- 13:56SPEAKER_04: And so me and my big homie Jabba Jaws, we were sitting over there and we was like, we normally commentate shit like this.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 14:06SPEAKER_04: Weren't you part of the hitman?
- 14:08SPEAKER_04: Weren't you part of the Hitman DJs back then?
- 14:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I was a part of the Hitman DJs, yeah, right.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: I never knew that.
- 14:13SPEAKER_04: I never knew that.
- 14:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, shout out to Greg Speech, shout out to Casper.
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: But y'all were playing, and I just saw the opportunity, like, like, yo, big brother, it's nobody talking.
- 14:23SPEAKER_04: They just out there playing for real.
- 14:25SPEAKER_04: Y'all was in the goddamn nationals, you know what I'm saying?
- 14:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: Softball was serious.
- 14:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so it was serious, right?
- 14:33SPEAKER_04: And so the murder mom, murder mommies was out there.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Murder mommies.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: Like DJs, and you know, keep in mind, I'm not a DJ.
- 14:40SPEAKER_04: I'm just an entertainer.
- 14:42SPEAKER_04: I'm they try to give me MC, but we we way more than that shit, right?
- 14:45SPEAKER_04: But anyway, uh, I said, man, that ain't nobody talking.
- 14:50SPEAKER_04: And so I looked over and they had a microphone.
- 14:52SPEAKER_04: And I said, give me the microphone.
- 14:55SPEAKER_05: For that.
- 14:56SPEAKER_04: And and and no matter what they did, I just brought light to the most obvious shit.
- 15:03SPEAKER_04: Whether he had on two big pants, two long shorts, we had white T's, we had on all that shit.
- 15:09SPEAKER_04: But it impacted the game and it impacted people swinging the bat.
- 15:13SPEAKER_04: It fucked.
- 15:14SPEAKER_04: Bada bada bada bada bada.
- 15:16SPEAKER_04: Ooh, he's that shit that would never make it to the south side.
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: I mean, I would just say the most craziest shit.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: And that's the energy we were just talking about.
- 15:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 15:25unknown: Yeah.
- 15:26SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
- 15:26SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
- 15:26SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
- 15:27SPEAKER_04: It was always about bringing light and seizing the moment of, you know what I'm saying, capturing the opportunity.
- 15:33SPEAKER_04: So, and and enough, and enough remembered that.
- 15:35SPEAKER_04: The picture was good enough for me.
- 15:37SPEAKER_04: I go back to Shreeport.
- 15:39SPEAKER_04: That's it.
- 15:41SPEAKER_04: Radio happened.
- 15:43SPEAKER_04: I used to do a lot of parties, pool parties.
- 15:46SPEAKER_04: Like before it was even cool to do pool parties.
- 15:49SPEAKER_04: They didn't even have policies where we could be around pools.
- 15:53SPEAKER_04: We used to go and cut the chains off of the um the public pools.
- 15:58SPEAKER_04: And on Sundays, you know, was no staff.
- 16:02SPEAKER_04: I was cool with the lifeguards.
- 16:03SPEAKER_04: They used to cut the chains off the gates.
- 16:05SPEAKER_04: So on Sundays, wasn't nobody in office, wasn't nobody in the government to shut the shit down.
- 16:11SPEAKER_04: It was all off.
- 16:13SPEAKER_04: And the funny part about the shit, we used to hide a security.
- 16:18SPEAKER_04: So I had a legitimate illegal business that the sheriffs the police department, all of them used to come and work.
- 16:25SPEAKER_04: But it really wouldn't work.
- 16:27SPEAKER_04: Because they was enjoying themselves in the scenery too.
- 16:30SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 16:31SPEAKER_04: So before all of that, that's what we did.
- 16:33SPEAKER_04: And then that landed me into radio.
- 16:37SPEAKER_04: And I and I came on as a sidekick because I knew all of the hood celebrities, the people, you know what I'm saying?
- 16:43SPEAKER_04: So my job was to just shout people out.
- 16:46SPEAKER_04: You know how much, y'all know how big an impact, you know, a damn shout out was.
- 16:50SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 16:50SPEAKER_04: Hell yeah.
- 16:51SPEAKER_04: Hell yeah.
- 16:52SPEAKER_04: Yo, DJ Camelo over there on the west side, boy, I see you cooking.
- 16:57SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 16:59SPEAKER_04: DJ, enough out there.
- 17:00SPEAKER_04: I don't know what he's doing, right?
- 17:01SPEAKER_04: And everybody would, yo, I heard you say my name on the radio.
- 17:05SPEAKER_04: The parties.
- 17:06SPEAKER_04: And then that's what my job was.
- 17:08SPEAKER_04: And I came on my OG as the sidekick man.
- 17:11SPEAKER_04: Nah, you're crazy, bro.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: So I want to connect the dots.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: So the heavy hitter, the heavy hitter happened when?
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: So, like, enough.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: You said Renee.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Renee was the radar.
- 17:21SPEAKER_03: Renee from G Union was the one that introduced me to him.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, we could have been before, prior, but.
- 17:27SPEAKER_03: I think Renee was the one who put me on to him.
- 17:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was years later after I met enough and got the picture in the elevator, that that I got a phone call.
- 17:35SPEAKER_04: Renee came down and I wrote Renee around Shreeput.
- 17:41SPEAKER_04: And he seemed like everywhere we went.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: Different.
- 17:43unknown: Yeah.
- 17:44SPEAKER_04: You were the mayor.
- 17:45SPEAKER_04: You were basically the mayor of Shrip.
- 17:46SPEAKER_04: There you go, Cast one.
- 17:47SPEAKER_04: Like, it was the mayor.
- 17:48SPEAKER_04: It was just the impact that I've had on.
- 17:50SPEAKER_04: And when I look back at it, I'll be like, damn, how do I have a personal relationship with damn near everybody?
- 17:56SPEAKER_04: Everybody has some type of, some type of interaction with me that we all, you know, we juggle our memory and we like, damn, I did do that.
- 18:04SPEAKER_04: I did.
- 18:05SPEAKER_04: I did.
- 18:05SPEAKER_04: It's because, you know, you walk around, you leave with love, and you don't ever have to look back.
- 18:09SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 18:10SPEAKER_04: You're impacting people like that.
- 18:11SPEAKER_04: So Renee came down, wrote him around, and he went to the club with me.
- 18:16SPEAKER_04: And when he went to the club with me, that's when he saw the magic.
- 18:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 18:21SPEAKER_04: The chemistry between me and a DJ.
- 18:24SPEAKER_04: Like, my DJ didn't necessarily talk, but he didn't talk.
- 18:31SPEAKER_04: I was, I had learned how to believe it or not, I was shy that a motherfucker.
- 18:39SPEAKER_04: No, no.
- 18:40SPEAKER_04: Get out of here.
- 18:41SPEAKER_04: You lying, bro.
- 18:42SPEAKER_04: Shit, let me give my goddamn band director.
- 18:44SPEAKER_04: I don't believe you.
- 18:46SPEAKER_04: So I could dance real good, right?
- 18:48SPEAKER_04: I could do, I could dance real good, and I used to go in and teach the band um choreography.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: One day the announcer got sick.
- 18:56SPEAKER_04: 1996.
- 18:58SPEAKER_04: He got sick.
- 18:59SPEAKER_04: Couldn't announce.
- 19:01SPEAKER_04: My band director said, hey, the announcer is out.
- 19:05SPEAKER_04: Um so I need you to be the announcer for the the shit.
- 19:13SPEAKER_04: I was shaking like a pair of dice.
- 19:17SPEAKER_04: Because if you know anything about bands, I don't know, like, you know, in the South, the first part of the show is like a six-minute show.
- 19:24SPEAKER_04: The first three minutes is all corporate.
- 19:26SPEAKER_04: And now for your feature presentation, the Fat Park Heights Marching Band marching at 150,000 miles an hour.
- 19:32SPEAKER_04: You know, it was, it was like that.
- 19:33SPEAKER_04: And I was like, I am not that motherfucker, right?
- 19:37SPEAKER_04: So that I I didn't think I had the professionalism to do it.
- 19:40SPEAKER_04: So I had to go.
- 19:41SPEAKER_04: He put me on the spot, he gave me a couple of days in advance, and I had to go and I had to, man, I had to, you know, I I I don't know where the fuck I got it from, but I used to write and I was nervous as fuck.
- 19:51SPEAKER_04: And then he put me in the goddamn, in the booth, in the press box, in the big stadium.
- 19:56SPEAKER_04: And so now I'm sitting there, and now.
- 19:59SPEAKER_04: No, I'm coming on like, all right, all right, all right.
- 20:05SPEAKER_04: Everything is going to be alright.
- 20:09SPEAKER_04: Ladies and gentlemen, and now for your priest and feast today, you know what I'm saying?
- 20:12SPEAKER_04: The Fat Park High School marching band.
- 20:14SPEAKER_04: The band is under direction of Mr.
- 20:16SPEAKER_04: Cleveland White, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 20:17SPEAKER_04: But I had written all that shit down.
- 20:19SPEAKER_04: That's the first three minutes.
- 20:21SPEAKER_04: Once I got through that professional part of it, it is ghetto central, baby.
- 20:24SPEAKER_04: And now it's like this motherfucker.
- 20:27SPEAKER_04: Hey, and they wasn't used to hearing that.
- 20:31SPEAKER_04: This shit is before you ever seen, I don't know what y'all seen.
- 20:36SPEAKER_04: Let me not, because that's the fuck up the part we do.
- 20:38SPEAKER_04: We always say, I'm the first person to do it.
- 20:40SPEAKER_04: And it could have been a guy in goddamn New York doing this shit.
- 20:44SPEAKER_04: But in the South, it was not nobody with personality coming on that microphone coordinating voice with what they were doing.
- 20:55SPEAKER_04: So after those seasons, a marching season, then we go into what they call battle of the band season.
- 21:03SPEAKER_04: So the press box PA system is normally bullshit.
- 21:08SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 21:08SPEAKER_04: When they build a stadium, they don't never invest into the PA systems, right?
- 21:13SPEAKER_04: Sound like popcorn.
- 21:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:18SPEAKER_04: Now you got to hear me.
- 21:19SPEAKER_04: That's what my band director told me.
- 21:21SPEAKER_04: No, son, they got to hear you.
- 21:24SPEAKER_04: So they had the big, there was this other band called Faraday.
- 21:27SPEAKER_04: They used to cheat.
- 21:28SPEAKER_04: They had the big ass speakers.
- 21:29SPEAKER_04: Two tops, two bottoms on the bottom.
- 21:31SPEAKER_04: Now they now they would have six tops.
- 21:33SPEAKER_04: So when they banned, they would have the PAs on and the shit sounded like it was magnified.
- 21:38SPEAKER_04: And so now in the South, it was like, damn, they loud.
- 21:42SPEAKER_04: But it's because they were they had the microphones on and the shit, and it was coming through the PA system.
- 21:46SPEAKER_04: So they asked, they said, Hey, can can I announce or use the PA system?
- 21:52SPEAKER_04: It's like, yeah.
- 21:53SPEAKER_04: So they put me on the field.
- 21:55SPEAKER_05: Uh uh.
- 21:56SPEAKER_05: Showtime.
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: Show time.
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: You can see what this is going on.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 22:01SPEAKER_04: Showtime.
- 22:02SPEAKER_04: They didn't know what the fuck I was gonna do.
- 22:06SPEAKER_04: But when they got a chance to see Bay Bay on the sideline coordinating, it was a comedy show before the bands even went on the field.
- 22:18SPEAKER_04: Setting the tone.
- 22:19SPEAKER_04: I look around and see somebody walking to the stand.
- 22:22SPEAKER_04: Thank you for uh joining us today, uh ladies and gentlemen.
- 22:24SPEAKER_04: She is fashionably late.
- 22:26SPEAKER_04: And everybody will bust out laughing.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: But I'm talking about somebody in the crowd.
- 22:31SPEAKER_04: So it's the pre-workout, and the band is lining up to get on the field, and they got a whole little comedy show.
- 22:36SPEAKER_04: I'm not roasting people, but I'm highlighting people, and they're getting familiar with me.
- 22:41SPEAKER_04: This is in 1994, 95, 96.
- 22:46SPEAKER_04: That's where my original start came from.
- 22:48SPEAKER_04: My band director put me on.
- 22:49SPEAKER_04: That's hard.
- 22:50SPEAKER_04: I'm OG, not my big homie.
- 22:52SPEAKER_04: He put me in front of thousands in 1994, 95, 96.
- 22:58SPEAKER_04: Thank, thank God for the guy who got sick.
- 23:02SPEAKER_04: Hey, man, he was at the right place.
- 23:05SPEAKER_04: That's it.
- 23:05SPEAKER_04: Yes, yes.
- 23:06SPEAKER_04: So my band director always believed in me, Mr.
- 23:08SPEAKER_04: Cleveland White.
- 23:10SPEAKER_04: He the one, I didn't even know how to play an instrument.
- 23:12SPEAKER_04: I'm Nick Cannon on Drumline before Nick Cannon on Drumline.
- 23:15SPEAKER_04: Talk about it.
- 23:17SPEAKER_04: I didn't know how to read music.
- 23:19SPEAKER_04: He taught me after marching season in 1991, January, February, March of my senior year, of my junior year, he taught me how to play the baritone.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 23:35SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 23:36SPEAKER_04: All right, baby.
- 23:38SPEAKER_04: He made me try out for drum major because he said I had the leadership.
- 23:41SPEAKER_04: So he saw it before I saw it, right?
- 23:44SPEAKER_04: He put me in front of the band and said he's gonna be the first drum major that don't know how to play an instrument.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: That's crazy.
- 23:52SPEAKER_04: I'm in front of the band directing them on some shit that I don't even know what the fuck, if they off, if they're playing it right, I'm just playing it off.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: He's like, I'm just directing.
- 24:00SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 24:01SPEAKER_04: So concert season, he taught me how to play baritone, and that's where I got my musical, my ear from.
- 24:09SPEAKER_04: Knowing pitches and knowing like what makes you feel good, the dancing, all of that.
- 24:13SPEAKER_04: That's how I'm able to feel when music makes you feel a certain way.
- 24:19SPEAKER_04: You can put on some shit right now, and my body would just go to that.
- 24:26SPEAKER_04: Fuck with that.
- 24:27SPEAKER_04: Mixed with leading with love.
- 24:29SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: Mixing with leading with love and the vibes, then you have Baby.
- 24:36SPEAKER_04: That ain't me.
- 24:36SPEAKER_04: That ain't me neither.
- 24:39SPEAKER_04: That's Monty B calling me.
- 24:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yes, to heavy hear the vibe, right?
- 24:46SPEAKER_04: But that's where the ear comes from.
- 24:48SPEAKER_04: That's where the feeling comes from.
- 24:50SPEAKER_04: That's when I learned that there's no such thing as hit records, right?
- 24:55SPEAKER_04: I can tell you when it's a hit.
- 24:57SPEAKER_04: Nah, I could tell you what that motherfucker make me feel like.
- 25:02SPEAKER_04: And if it make me feel like something, that's the first sign.
- 25:07SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 25:07SPEAKER_04: If all of us is in here doing this shit right here, right now, nine times out of ten, it's gonna make 30 more motherfuckers do the same thing.
- 25:14SPEAKER_04: 100%.
- 25:16SPEAKER_04: The DJs were the influencers.
- 25:18SPEAKER_04: So if you seen DJ enough doing this and Boogs doing this, guess what Babe started doing?
- 25:22SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 25:23SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 25:25SPEAKER_04: I was the influence.
- 25:27SPEAKER_04: So that's where Camelo and your other guys would want to get that new shit from the studio to the radio first to put their the ugly face.
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: So put the influence on it.
- 25:43SPEAKER_02: So, baby, you realize I got this energy, I got this influence, I could control all this.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: And then you just you put that same play kind of from the field to the radio, to the clubs, etc.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: And then you already, but you knew already.
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: You knew I got some shit.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: You knew I got some shit, and I'm gonna put it here and over there.
- 26:00SPEAKER_04: I've been knew I had influence and power.
- 26:04SPEAKER_04: The thing about influence and power is knowing when and when not to use it.
- 26:09SPEAKER_04: And don't abuse it.
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: Facts.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: You feel me?
- 26:13SPEAKER_04: Like, I've been knew, like, don't mistake my confidence for arrogance.
- 26:17SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: It don't cost you shit to keep it silent.
- 26:20SPEAKER_04: I just left the bank.
- 26:21SPEAKER_04: Shit.
- 26:22SPEAKER_04: Print that.
- 26:24SPEAKER_04: So, so my ego is not my worst amigo.
- 26:29SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 26:30SPEAKER_04: I ain't no rookie, that's why they booked me.
- 26:33SPEAKER_04: What lighters bro?
- 26:35SPEAKER_04: I love this guy, man.
- 26:37SPEAKER_04: I love this guy.
- 26:39SPEAKER_04: But that's that's what happened.
- 26:40SPEAKER_04: And so from the band, it got so it got so unfair that even though we used to go to compete, battle of the bands, I would be on the microphone and be so arrogant and say, we're not even competing.
- 26:55SPEAKER_04: Ladies and gentlemen, we're the special guests, and we really was competing.
- 26:59SPEAKER_04: Because it was that unfair that the crowd would love us and then they would they would always come to see us to the point where my band director and the staff members would have to lie to them and tell them, nah, baby, he's he got a job.
- 27:10SPEAKER_04: He's not coming with us this year.
- 27:12SPEAKER_04: Because they wouldn't they wouldn't let me use the PA system, right?
- 27:17SPEAKER_04: Oh man.
- 27:17SPEAKER_04: It became so unfair to the other bands because we had a real show, and it's documented too.
- 27:23SPEAKER_04: It's on it's on it's on um YouTube and stuff.
- 27:25SPEAKER_04: Like they somebody caught it 1996.
- 27:27SPEAKER_04: You know, you want to Google it and watch it, but that's what that was.
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: And then, because, you know, my ratchetness messing with the girls at the school, you feel me?
- 27:37SPEAKER_04: Like back then, that shit got too wild, and you know, just I elevated and I went on, and then I got recruited by um the exotic dance.
- 27:47SPEAKER_04: I became an exotic dancer, which you may not know.
- 27:49SPEAKER_04: Wait, what?
- 27:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, what?
- 27:51SPEAKER_04: Wait a bread.
- 27:52SPEAKER_04: Oh, it's not too crazy.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 27:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah, listen.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Listen, I need one.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: All right, let's go.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: Let's see what happens.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: It's gonna get uncomfortable, but let's see what we happen.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 28:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, listen, guys, listen.
- 28:08SPEAKER_04: I am a hustler.
- 28:09SPEAKER_04: The dancing was all theater that I did not take.
- 28:14SPEAKER_04: I didn't go to a class for it, but I just knew how to entertain.
- 28:18SPEAKER_04: So I was a young guy, love to dance.
- 28:20SPEAKER_04: I I got into the club when I was 15 years old.
- 28:22SPEAKER_04: See, I graduated when I was 15.
- 28:25SPEAKER_04: I was put up two years, you know.
- 28:27SPEAKER_04: Not that I was just super duper smart, but I did well on my testing.
- 28:32SPEAKER_04: So I never seen the first grade and I stayed in the second grade five months.
- 28:36SPEAKER_04: So I went from kindergarten, first, third.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: It probably helped that you was going to private school and then you went to public school.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: It probably helped too.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: Because that was my situation.
- 28:47unknown: Right.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: Six seven.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: Six, seven.
- 28:53SPEAKER_04: Hey, so so that's what happened, right?
- 28:56SPEAKER_04: And so I went into this club when I was 15 years old, and I just, you know, my brother, we used to dance, right?
- 29:00SPEAKER_04: We used to look for the opportunity to get out there on the floor.
- 29:03SPEAKER_04: Well, this was exotic dancer night.
- 29:05SPEAKER_04: On a Wednesday night, it was called Wicked Wednesday.
- 29:08SPEAKER_04: This is when ladies used to, we'd just be happy to see them in a miniskirt.
- 29:11SPEAKER_04: Remember those days?
- 29:12SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 29:13SPEAKER_04: So to see a woman in a thong, oh my God.
- 29:18SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 29:19SPEAKER_04: So the so for whatever reason, the this night, the show is delayed.
- 29:24SPEAKER_04: Delayed 30 to 45 minutes.
- 29:25SPEAKER_04: I don't know if one of the dancers didn't make it, but they needed some entertainment.
- 29:30SPEAKER_04: And so Mystical, Here I Go, was my favorite song.
- 29:35SPEAKER_04: Here you go.
- 29:36SPEAKER_04: Here I go.
- 29:36SPEAKER_04: Here I go.
- 29:39SPEAKER_04: Guess what my job was in the club?
- 29:42SPEAKER_04: The light man.
- 29:43SPEAKER_04: Oh shit.
- 29:45SPEAKER_04: Whenever the announcer would say, Baby, I mean, my name was Baby, I hit the light.
- 29:52SPEAKER_04: That means that the dancer is about to come out.
- 29:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:55SPEAKER_04: When the dancer gets to the middle of the dance floor, baby! The light goes back on, then we see it.
- 30:01SPEAKER_04: Damn in the thong, right?
- 30:03SPEAKER_04: So this night, the show got delayed.
- 30:06SPEAKER_04: DJ back there, DJing, he knows that that's my song.
- 30:11SPEAKER_04: Here I go.
- 30:12SPEAKER_04: Everybody.
- 30:14SPEAKER_04: Where's baby?
- 30:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I come.
- 30:17SPEAKER_04: I'm coming out there.
- 30:18SPEAKER_04: I'm I'm going to move.
- 30:19SPEAKER_04: This is I'm I'm you know, I'm dun, dun, dun.
- 30:23SPEAKER_04: I'm TikTok before TikTok.
- 30:28SPEAKER_04: Yo, I am TikTok before TikTok.
- 30:33SPEAKER_04: I used to teach the line dances.
- 30:36SPEAKER_04: The bunny hop the bunny hop, stupid shuffle, all was taught by baby.
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: Excuse me, sir.
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: Can we get back to the part where you get on that stripper stage, please?
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: Yo.
- 30:48SPEAKER_04: Yo, this is crazy.
- 30:50SPEAKER_04: I'm TikTok before TikTok.
- 30:55SPEAKER_04: I told the people what to do, when to do it, how to do it.
- 30:58SPEAKER_04: If I'm lying, I'm flying, and everybody when they watch this shit, they're gonna say, he ain't lying.
- 31:04SPEAKER_04: He ain't lying.
- 31:05SPEAKER_04: I used to get out there and teach them go left, go right.
- 31:08SPEAKER_04: The shit I taught y'all on the boat.
- 31:10SPEAKER_04: You see the Tamir shit?
- 31:11SPEAKER_04: You see y'all learned the Tamir shit before who the first?
- 31:15SPEAKER_02: I ain't never, I ain't never, I ain't never before that day.
- 31:18SPEAKER_02: Never ever before that day.
- 31:20SPEAKER_04: Come on now.
- 31:20SPEAKER_04: Now you see, that's what I did years ago, all right?
- 31:24SPEAKER_04: Just knowing when to go, you gotta go first.
- 31:26SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 31:26SPEAKER_04: The first Indian over the hill always gets shot.
- 31:28SPEAKER_04: Bow.
- 31:29SPEAKER_04: Okay, here we go.
- 31:30SPEAKER_04: So now they out there and I'm going crazy.
- 31:33SPEAKER_04: Well, when I go to crazy, I go to act like, I go to act like I'm a pull my clothes down, right?

- 37:51SPEAKER_00: You went from stripping to three shows a night.
- 37:54SPEAKER_02: Three shows a night.
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: Three shows a night.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, that bag was crazy.
- 37:58SPEAKER_04: It's called a 313.
- 38:00SPEAKER_04: Three shows one night in three different locations.
- 38:03SPEAKER_02: And then when I triple booking them.
- 38:06SPEAKER_02: When does that come to an end, baby?
- 38:08SPEAKER_04: 2002.
- 38:10SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 38:11SPEAKER_02: You had a run, huh?
- 38:12SPEAKER_02: Had a run.
- 38:15SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 38:15SPEAKER_02: So what was the next move after that?
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: Radio cli.
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: What was that?
- 38:21SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 38:21SPEAKER_04: I gotta give it to y'all, and you know, I'm saving this shit for either a documentary or a book or some shit, right?

- 38:40SPEAKER_04: And so as I'm dancing, I so I had a couple of goddamn hustles at the same time.
- 38:46SPEAKER_04: So I go from the announcing to the dancing.
- 38:51SPEAKER_04: And the dancing got so crazy that the the hip hop task for them the stripper task force.
- 39:03SPEAKER_04: They used to try to bust me to catch me in the act.
- 39:07SPEAKER_04: So the 313 actually helped me.

- 39:14SPEAKER_04: It was no, you know, we'll put out the flyers, he's gonna be here, he's gonna be there.

- 39:46SPEAKER_04: Gotta be.
- 39:47SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 39:48SPEAKER_04: And the picking up of the chair was the the the word of mouth, the you got to go, girl, don't tell.
- 39:55SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 39:56SPEAKER_04: And so I've always been like this thing, must see TV, you gotta go see him.
- 40:02SPEAKER_04: So that comes to end in like 2002.
- 40:07SPEAKER_04: And then they go and the guys go and try to put the he gay rumor on baby.
- 40:16SPEAKER_04: So this is when I first encountered like hate and the narrative.

- 41:25SPEAKER_04: This is crazy.
- 41:27SPEAKER_04: Sold-out municipal auditorium.
- 41:29SPEAKER_04: Same place 50 Cent did the big comedy show.
- 41:32SPEAKER_04: We brought Cat Williams, Dave Chappelle, Michael Blackston, all the motherfuckers that was beefing in Shrekwood.

- 41:44SPEAKER_00: My older.
- 41:46SPEAKER_00: At this point, you've already been you've already been rocking a couple years.
- 41:49SPEAKER_04: So this baby, this this the big baby.
- 41:54SPEAKER_04: And so they bring me out at this municipal auditorium in between.
- 41:58SPEAKER_04: It was a setup to bring on Peggy Scott.
- 42:01SPEAKER_04: Peggy Scott had this had this song called Bill.
- 42:05SPEAKER_04: So Bill, me and the lady had a skit.
- 42:08SPEAKER_04: And you know what I'm saying?
- 42:08SPEAKER_04: And when they come out, man, I had this little trick.
- 42:13SPEAKER_04: You know the white sheet?
- 42:15SPEAKER_04: The white sheet.
- 42:18SPEAKER_04: Bed sheet.
- 42:19SPEAKER_04: Bed sheet.

- 42:25SPEAKER_04: But I stand over the candle.
- 42:26SPEAKER_04: And boy, they said, look at the trunk on that elephant in front of a sold-out crowd.

- 42:35SPEAKER_04: But the sheriff said, we got to do something about it.
- 42:39SPEAKER_04: They took off, they chased me off stage.
- 42:42SPEAKER_04: Oh shit.
- 42:43SPEAKER_04: They chased the shit out of me.
- 42:45SPEAKER_04: By the time they caught me, I was fully dressed.
- 42:47SPEAKER_04: They just wrote me a citation.
- 42:49SPEAKER_04: Wrote me a citation.
- 42:50SPEAKER_04: I merged on over to radio, party throwing, yada yada yada, right?
- 42:57SPEAKER_04: And that's what landed me on to radio.
- 42:59SPEAKER_04: Radio landed me into the realm of like going into clubs and emceeing and teaching choreography, teaching the buddy how teaching.
- 43:11SPEAKER_04: Like I just used to influence the club so bad.
- 43:13SPEAKER_04: Right, right.
- 43:14SPEAKER_04: Like you'll put on a song, and motherfuckers be looking at me, and we'll make them go this way.
- 43:19SPEAKER_04: Then we'll go this way.
- 43:20SPEAKER_04: And then we'll go in the front.
- 43:22SPEAKER_04: And then we'll go in the back with no microphone.
- 43:25SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry, I was just the person to go in there to teach people how to.
- 43:29SPEAKER_04: Wait, wait, and it's it's happening to this day.
- 43:33SPEAKER_00: Baby, let me ask you something.
- 43:35SPEAKER_00: You like, you know, you're one of a kind.
- 43:38SPEAKER_00: You said this to me, you you know.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: After many years, did anybody try to copy your style or do like what you were doing?
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: Like, you know.
- 43:46SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 43:47SPEAKER_04: Um, and I'll tell you when.
- 43:49SPEAKER_04: Nobody tried to copy me until I showed the money.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: Mmm.
- 43:55SPEAKER_01: Here we go.
- 43:56SPEAKER_04: So this this is what happened.
- 44:00SPEAKER_04: To this day, right?
- 44:01SPEAKER_04: And I always said, like, the reason why Enough and Camillo and Bugs and Caswin and many others don't know about Bay Bay is because I chose my position.
- 44:13SPEAKER_04: I never wanted to be the biggest.
- 44:15SPEAKER_04: I just wanted to be the realest.
- 44:17SPEAKER_04: I knew how high not to go.
- 44:20SPEAKER_04: Because the higher you go, the weirder it gets.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: That's a fact.
- 44:24SPEAKER_04: So I never really traveled the world because I used to bring everybody to Shreeport.
- 44:31SPEAKER_04: You got to come see this shit.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: And that's exactly, that's exactly what they told you enough.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: You gotta come see this.
- 44:37SPEAKER_02: Literally, you gotta see, meet this guy.
- 44:39SPEAKER_04: You gotta see what he does.
- 44:41SPEAKER_04: And so Shreeport is on, you don't fucking know Shreeport.
- 44:44SPEAKER_04: When you say Louisiana, you think New Orleans.
- 44:46SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 44:47SPEAKER_04: You think you didn't even think Baton Ruiz, because Baton Rouge came after Shreeport.
- 44:51SPEAKER_04: You just thought New Orleans, but we're actually at the top of the booth, right?
- 44:55SPEAKER_04: And so in 90, 99, 2000.
- 45:01SPEAKER_04: When was the first Make Show Power Summit?
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: 99.
- 45:06SPEAKER_04: 99?
- 45:07SPEAKER_04: Like officially most.
- 45:10SPEAKER_04: It was in Miami, right?
- 45:12SPEAKER_04: The small one, yeah.
- 45:14SPEAKER_04: The small one.
- 45:14SPEAKER_04: It was in Miami, yeah.
- 45:16SPEAKER_04: But the first one that I went to was in Puerto Rico.
- 45:19SPEAKER_04: That's the first Make Show Power Summit.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: That's like 04, 03.
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 45:25SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 45:25SPEAKER_04: This is a year after 50.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: So like maybe 02, 03.
- 45:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's when Made You Look by Nas dropped.
- 45:35SPEAKER_05: Twin, Adam from Enscope, Video Raheem, Renee McClain, had they were record reps.
- 45:47SPEAKER_04: And they was all like, they used to carpool around the goddamn and go and serve as the records.
- 45:52SPEAKER_04: So they stopped in Shreeport to go see DJ Love.
- 45:55SPEAKER_04: And uh they asked DJ Love about, hey man, you know, what's a club?
- 45:58SPEAKER_04: He said, shit, oh yeah, my boy Baby, he works on the other station.
- 46:02SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 46:02SPEAKER_04: We should go over there and see him.
- 46:03SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, yeah, hey man, yeah, he runs shit.
- 46:06SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying, around here?
- 46:07SPEAKER_04: He's like, yeah, we got the club tonight.
- 46:08SPEAKER_04: And it was on a Wednesday night.
- 46:10SPEAKER_04: Adam and E1.
- 46:13SPEAKER_04: E1.
- 46:14SPEAKER_04: E won.
- 46:16SPEAKER_04: All of them, they came to the club.
- 46:18SPEAKER_04: Well, they came up to the radio station and they had a record.
- 46:20SPEAKER_04: So they was like, yeah, man, you know, we out here working records, you know, you looking all.
- 46:24SPEAKER_04: And uh, there's this guy that was real loud.
- 46:28SPEAKER_04: And uh they had a record and said, yo, I'll put that shit right on the radio.
- 46:31SPEAKER_04: They say, Brand new, whatever the fuck it was at that time.
- 46:39SPEAKER_04: We're gonna do it again.
- 46:41SPEAKER_04: We're gonna play this motherfucker until you know what I mean.
- 46:44SPEAKER_04: You know, I'm just playing.
- 46:46SPEAKER_04: Make the movie.
- 46:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, make it the movie.
- 46:49SPEAKER_04: And when they came to the club and seen the club shit, that's when they said, oh shit, this mother, we got to have him at Make Show Power Summit.
- 46:58SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 46:59SPEAKER_04: So that's when Bebe finally traveled to Puerto Rico.
- 47:03SPEAKER_04: Puerto Rico.
- 47:05SPEAKER_04: And every popular fucking DJ from around the world.
- 47:09SPEAKER_04: Oh, I went, I went over there and I took my camcorder.
- 47:13SPEAKER_04: Nobody else brought camcorders.
- 47:14SPEAKER_04: Nobody ever thought to bring camcorders.
- 47:17SPEAKER_04: I brought my camcorder, JBC.
- 47:24SPEAKER_04: We went over there to make sure power summit, man.

- 50:38SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 50:38SPEAKER_04: Blah, blah, blah.
- 50:39SPEAKER_04: The very next year, them motherfuckers sold all the rights to the goddamn motherfucker with cameras to MTV.
- 50:45SPEAKER_04: It was no more, you can't bring your cameras, you can't bring nothing.
- 50:48SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 50:49SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 50:50SPEAKER_04: They had a special task force Renee and them had put in place the capture all video cameras.

- 51:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 51:17SPEAKER_04: I was not a big wig in there.
- 51:20SPEAKER_04: It was it was Casper, Greg Street, and then whoever they were immediate with.
- 51:27SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 51:28SPEAKER_04: They had to put a list out.
- 51:29SPEAKER_04: I was like, damn, why they ain't got my name on the list.
- 51:31SPEAKER_04: They just put the list like that, like you didn't even know?

- 51:52SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 51:53SPEAKER_04: So it was it was cool.
- 51:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 51:55SPEAKER_04: A babe comes out.
- 51:57SPEAKER_04: Game changer.
- 51:58SPEAKER_04: Explain that, please.
- 52:00SPEAKER_04: Let's get that story correct.
- 52:01SPEAKER_04: So, with the influence of Bay Bay and the chemistry between me and my DJ.
- 52:10SPEAKER_04: DJ Chico.
- 52:10SPEAKER_04: Shout out to DJ Chico.
- 52:12SPEAKER_04: Whenever Babe comes in and grabs the microphone, the energy goes, right?
- 52:17SPEAKER_04: But that was a song enough.
- 52:19SPEAKER_04: I can't even fucking explain it to you guys.
- 52:22SPEAKER_04: Not that one.
- 52:23SPEAKER_04: Not that one.
- 52:24SPEAKER_04: Not that one.
- 52:25SPEAKER_04: This is three.
- 52:26SPEAKER_04: A Bay Bay is so underappreciated.
- 52:31SPEAKER_04: The song is underappreciated in Shri Put because that's not what they know the A Bay Bay for.
- 52:40SPEAKER_04: Hurricane is a blessing.
- 52:42SPEAKER_04: He he got blessed.
- 52:44SPEAKER_04: Shreport, Louisiana knows A Bay Bay, the energize.
- 52:51SPEAKER_04: A Bay Bay is Mac, it's magnetic.
- 52:56SPEAKER_04: It's the heart of the city.
- 52:57SPEAKER_04: Yes, it's magnetic.
- 52:59SPEAKER_04: You I'm in the DNA of entertainment in Shreveport.
- 53:04SPEAKER_04: Not to say there wasn't entertainment before Bay Bay, because there's gay papa, Cat Daddy, Jabba Jaws.
- 53:10SPEAKER_04: But when they gave it to young Michael, young Michael.
- 53:16SPEAKER_04: Young Michael had enough sense to go get other team members.
- 53:19SPEAKER_04: And we won it we went and won a championship.
- 53:22SPEAKER_04: DJ knew what time you get into the club tonight.
- 53:25SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna get there by 11 o'clock.
- 53:27SPEAKER_04: Alright, cool.
- 53:28SPEAKER_04: So he knew how to bullshit until Babe coming in.
- 53:34SPEAKER_04: One night, club so packed, shit rocking.
- 53:37SPEAKER_04: Fucking amps got hot.
- 53:40SPEAKER_04: The music cuts off.
- 53:41SPEAKER_04: Everything but the amp with the with the microphone on.
- 53:44SPEAKER_04: The microphone, okay.
- 53:46SPEAKER_04: So there's no music over there, and it's in the middle of a goddamn song.
- 53:51SPEAKER_04: No music, no DJ, just the mic.
- 53:54SPEAKER_04: He cut the fuck out.
- 53:55SPEAKER_04: It's just a microphone for five minutes.
- 53:58SPEAKER_04: They didn't miss a beat.
- 54:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 54:02SPEAKER_04: Now cut up, now cut up, now cut up, now cut up, now rockin'.
- 54:06SPEAKER_04: We rockin'.
- 54:07SPEAKER_04: You rocking, I'm rolling.
- 54:08SPEAKER_04: You rolling, I'm rocking.
- 54:10SPEAKER_04: You rollin', we rockin'.
- 54:11SPEAKER_04: I say, now pass me some water so I can roll harder.
- 54:14SPEAKER_04: Pass me some water so I can roll harder.
- 54:17SPEAKER_04: Blue, yellow, pink, red.
- 54:20SPEAKER_04: Pears all colored like some fucking Easter egg.
- 54:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 54:25SPEAKER_04: Now Rick.
- 54:26SPEAKER_04: James, Rick, James, yeah.
- 54:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 54:32SPEAKER_04: Like, if you ever seen Louisiana people, we don't really need shit to dance, to party.
- 54:38SPEAKER_04: So all I did was just orchestrated and educated them and instructed them on what to do for five minutes.
- 54:44SPEAKER_04: That was it.
- 54:45SPEAKER_04: And the longer it went without music, let me get that hand clap.
- 54:49SPEAKER_04: Let me get that hand clap.
- 54:50SPEAKER_04: Let me get that.
- 54:51SPEAKER_04: Let me get that.
- 54:52SPEAKER_04: That's where the hand clap comes from.
- 54:54SPEAKER_04: It came all from in the moment energy.
- 54:58SPEAKER_04: From yours truly.
- 55:00SPEAKER_04: Freestyle.
- 55:00SPEAKER_04: Off the top.
- 55:01SPEAKER_04: Freestyle.
- 55:02SPEAKER_04: I pray that the music goes off in any club.
- 55:09SPEAKER_04: So you can do your thing.
- 55:11SPEAKER_02: We're going to have so much fun.
- 55:13SPEAKER_02: But I will give you your props.
- 55:15SPEAKER_02: On the improvisation, on the we sleep, and all of a sudden we all jumping up a deck.
- 55:19SPEAKER_02: You got all that shit.
- 55:20SPEAKER_02: Like, it is one of the best things to witness and be part of, dog.
- 55:24SPEAKER_04: Mix with some drinks, some pills, some weed, anything to get everybody going.
- 55:32SPEAKER_04: I told y'all at the at the retreat, what you guys may partake in, I'm already there when you get where that in your system.
- 55:40SPEAKER_04: I'm already there.
- 55:41SPEAKER_04: So by the time you get to where now let's have a good time, guys.
- 55:45SPEAKER_04: Right, of course.
- 55:46SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 55:47SPEAKER_04: So that's what happened.
- 55:49SPEAKER_04: And then my little sidekick said, hey man, you know the way we're gonna break into the music business?
- 55:56SPEAKER_04: We gotta let Hurricane do a song about you.
- 56:01SPEAKER_04: And you take it when you go over there to Mix Your Power Summit, and you play it and influence it, and we get the fuck out of here.
- 56:11SPEAKER_04: It happened almost just like that.
- 56:13SPEAKER_04: Only it didn't happen at Mix Your Power Summit.
- 56:16SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 56:16SPEAKER_04: It happened at Project Pat listening party.
- 56:20SPEAKER_04: Just rang off?
- 56:21SPEAKER_04: Project Pat Memphis.
- 56:22SPEAKER_04: It has that sound.
- 56:23SPEAKER_04: It has that Memphis sound.
- 56:24SPEAKER_04: All the three C, it just sounded like recycled shit, but it got a certain cadence to it.
- 56:30SPEAKER_04: So I fucked around and waited strategically, guys, for them to get finished with all of the priorities.
- 56:38SPEAKER_04: Project Pat listening, 36 Mafia shit.
- 56:42SPEAKER_04: They were full of drinks.
- 56:43unknown: Exactly.
- 56:44SPEAKER_04: Wait, where was this at?
- 56:45SPEAKER_04: Where was it listening at?
- 56:47SPEAKER_04: Hollywood.
- 56:48SPEAKER_04: Hollywood?
- 56:49SPEAKER_04: Hollywood.
- 56:49SPEAKER_04: This is when 36 Mafia had moved to Hollywood.
- 56:51SPEAKER_04: They had the whole um the whole.
- 56:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, right.
- 56:57SPEAKER_04: So after they did all their thing, they were drunk, porn stars, everybody was a good nice little house party.
- 57:03SPEAKER_04: Babe had a CD with A Bay Bay, the rough draft one.
- 57:07SPEAKER_04: I ease over when nobody was just quiet and everybody was talking.
- 57:11SPEAKER_04: I ease over and I put the CD into the and I looked over there and I matched play.
- 57:15SPEAKER_04: And I ran away from the DJ booth.
- 57:17SPEAKER_04: So they couldn't see who the fuck, like, where the fuck the music comes from.
- 57:22SPEAKER_04: But the A Bay Bay started playing, and the porn stars, and everybody in the room, Juicy J went over there, like, who the fuck played this?
- 57:32SPEAKER_04: What is this?
- 57:32SPEAKER_04: A baby.
- 57:34SPEAKER_04: And DJ Love says, they're talking about him.
- 57:38SPEAKER_04: And so I get out there and do my little baby dance and start instructing people.
- 57:43SPEAKER_04: There we go again.
- 57:45SPEAKER_04: In Hollywood.
- 57:46SPEAKER_04: In Hollywood.
- 57:48SPEAKER_04: And before you know it, the whole fucking house.
- 57:52SPEAKER_04: We done played A Baby Bay by 15 times.
- 57:55SPEAKER_04: And we teach them how to hand clap.
- 57:58SPEAKER_04: King Arthur, hot 107-9, comes to me drunker than the goddamn fish in the water with no legs.
- 58:05SPEAKER_05: Give me that record.
- 58:08SPEAKER_05: Take it back to Atlanta.
- 58:10SPEAKER_05: And I'm gonna break it.
- 58:15SPEAKER_05: Master Rough.
- 58:18SPEAKER_05: All that.
- 58:18SPEAKER_04: He takes it to Atlanta.
- 58:21SPEAKER_04: Play that shit.
- 58:22SPEAKER_04: And he calls me, he says, hey, we got a mix of meeting.
- 58:26SPEAKER_04: Your song versus some other song.
- 58:28SPEAKER_04: I think it was DJ Unk Walking Out.
- 58:30SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 58:31SPEAKER_04: Big record.
- 58:32SPEAKER_04: Big song.
- 58:34SPEAKER_04: Babe, A Bay Bay beat him hands down.
- 58:37SPEAKER_04: Woof.
- 58:38SPEAKER_04: A Babe Bay goes crazy.
- 58:40SPEAKER_04: Again, the search for Baby goes on by Collick Park, Smurf.
- 58:45SPEAKER_04: He thought it was Boosie.
- 58:47SPEAKER_04: He thought Hurricane was Boosie because they got the raspiness.
- 58:50SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 58:51SPEAKER_04: When he comes to find out that it wasn't Boosie, he jumped on the first thing smoking to Shreeport.
- 58:58SPEAKER_04: That's crazy.
- 58:59SPEAKER_04: He flies to Shreeport.
- 59:00SPEAKER_04: I picks him up from the airport in my candy orange van sitting on Gold Datens, triple gold datings.
- 59:05SPEAKER_04: So I'm showing him the same thing Renee seen.
- 59:08SPEAKER_04: I take them on a hike.
- 59:10SPEAKER_04: And everywhere we go, baby the mayor.
- 59:12SPEAKER_04: Because I'm trying to impress him and let him know what the fuck.
- 59:16SPEAKER_04: I take him to a club that ain't even the club that we're going to.
- 59:20SPEAKER_04: Damn, everybody know you.
- 59:21SPEAKER_04: I said, yeah, we kind of pop.
- 59:22SPEAKER_04: We like the janitor around here.
- 59:26SPEAKER_04: We just clean up well.
- 59:29SPEAKER_04: So we walks into the club, the shit happens.
- 59:32SPEAKER_04: Dum, dum, dum, dun, dum, dum, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
- 59:37SPEAKER_04: Motherfucker shaking me and hugging me when I walk through the club and shit.
- 59:41SPEAKER_04: It's a whole intro.
- 59:42SPEAKER_04: When I, by the time I get to that microphone and grab it, let's go.
- 59:47SPEAKER_04: Whole club.
- 59:49SPEAKER_04: He like, what the fuck?
- 59:52SPEAKER_04: He thought it was a coke.
- 59:54SPEAKER_04: What kind of cult shit y'all got going on down here?
- 59:57SPEAKER_04: He seen that goddamn club rocking and he said, for three to four fucking hours, he never seen people party.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_04: Straight.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_04: Straight.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_04: Amazing.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_04: Then at the 45 of every hour, we would slow it down and play three slow songs.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_04: For no reason.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_04: For no reason.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_04: Jeff to reset the room.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_04: And give him a chance to go to the goddamn, go to the goddamn bar.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_04: Bar and bathroom.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_04: Said reset, pop.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_04: You said it.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_04: Top of the hour, we back on that bullshit.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_04: Yes, sir.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_04: Yes, sir.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_04: Back on that bullshit for 45 more minutes.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_04: 50 Cent came down there.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_04: Said it in his hand.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_04: All the celebrities.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_04: Because that's when Louisiana got the tax credit.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_04: And they were shooting all the movies down there.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_04: So where's it to go in Shreveport?
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_04: Coco Pellets.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_05: And when they would come in, ladies and gentlemen, guess who just walked up in the building?
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_05: Lawrence.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_04: Whoa.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_04: Everybody turn around.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_04: No cell phones.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_04: Martin Lawrence in this motherfucker.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_04: Hold on, Shreveport.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_04: We gotta make Martin do the do what we do in Shreveport.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_04: So Martin, the whole club is gonna do what the fuck you do.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_04: Let's go, Martin! Martin, Lawrence, Martin! Whatever Martin did, the whole club did.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_04: And this is prime time.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_04: Martin Lawrence was Martin was Sedg of the Entertainer, Mike Ebbs.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_04: 50 snuck in the back.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_04: He tells a story.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_04: He said, I was listening to what the fuck they was, and it was no shit that I knew.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_04: Yup.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_04: I've heard that story.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_04: How the fuck?
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_04: And for 30 minutes, it's no shit that they because we always knew what the fuck our value was in Shreeput.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_04: So that's where everybody who came to Shri put left with the story.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_04: You gotta go to Shree Put.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_04: That guy down there, he's doing something.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_04: Oh shit.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_04: That's why all the entertainers know Bay Bay, but the rest of the world know A Bay Bay Hurricane Chris.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_05: Got it.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_04: That's where the marketing dollars was put behind.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_04: And we had a strategic plan and a strategic conversation.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_04: If you want to be known, we can put you in the video and let the world know it's about you.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_04: You'll probably live, have probably a six-month span because DJs don't like to play other DJ records.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_04: Or you can let it go and you can not be as much in the video.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_04: We make it about Hurricane Chris.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_04: That way the kid have a career.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_04: And eventually they'll find out what A Babe really means.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_04: And that was another reason why you don't see Babe, the person that y'all know.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_03: I had a birthday party and I had Hurricane Chris perform.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_03: And I wish I would have had you there.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_03: That was the that was the unconnected part.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_03: I was like, damn.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_03: Because I didn't find out that you were the baby he was talking about until afterwards.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: No, but regardless, when anybody ever found that out, the old shit effect came into right away.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_04: Right away.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_04: If you ever listen to the song, the lyrics talk about the lyrics of A Bay Bay is really about a DJ breaking a record.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_04: You want to know what we say in the club?
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_04: When the club gets A Bay Bay.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_04: Well, A Bay Bay, let it play.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_04: That's my song.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_04: Turn it up.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_05: That's what's up.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_05: Like that.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_05: That's what's up.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_05: Like that.
- 1:03:36unknown: White.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_04: Thugs, A Bay Bay.
