Marlins Land High-Potential Draft Pick | Miami Marlins News
The Miami Marlins just pulled off a draft-day steal by selecting Jacob Lombard, a high school shortstop with elite speed, power, and defensive potential, at 14 overall. Hitting .477 with 9 home runs in his senior year, Lombard’s athletic build and all-around game make him a top-tier prospect. Scouts see him as a future star capable of impacting both sides of the ball — and the Marlins are betting big that he’ll deliver, turning this pick into a cornerstone of their rebuild.
