- 0:18Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Pandemonium, the pop culture game show
- 0:21Speaker 1: that shines a spotlight on everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your
- 0:25Speaker 1: game master and over zealous inquisitor Ben Robinson. But a
- 0:28Speaker 1: game master needs games and a games and a games.
- 0:31Speaker 2: It's not easy, asn't been.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Well.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Please welcome first our first team, the captain of Team one.
- 0:39Speaker 1: He's a game show host, a writer with a case
- 0:41Speaker 1: of anglophilia that would make a boarding school sex education
- 0:44Speaker 1: teacher blush. It's Aaron Randolph.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Hi, my favorite introduction yet.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And then, of course you need a partner in crime here,
- 0:57Speaker 1: and absolutely so. He's a He's a podcast producer, writer,
- 1:01Speaker 1: an occasional game master. But he seems to have forgotten
- 1:04Speaker 1: his jacket today, so he's just another member of this
- 1:07Speaker 1: anarcho syndicalist commune. It's Matt Watson.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Hello, that's right, I have jacket off.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, nice and cool today.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, you look the most relaxed I've ever
- 1:20Speaker 3: seen you.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm chill. It's six PM on a lovely summer's evening,
- 1:26Speaker 2: the Jackets OFLF. I'm just wearing a T shirt. It's fantastic.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I actually like being a player. I'm never going back,
- 1:32Speaker 2: thank you, Ben.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So are you guys fans of Python?
- 1:39Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:39Speaker 3: I would say so. My father would play Mundy Python
- 1:43Speaker 3: on the Holy Grail in the living room when I
- 1:45Speaker 3: was eight, and he would watch the episodes of the
- 1:51Speaker 3: show whenever they were playing on PBS, which wasn't very often,
- 1:54Speaker 3: but every now and then they'd replay the Money Python series. Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I got my education pretty early, and boy, oh boy,
- 2:02Speaker 3: when I hit high school, did I take Monty Python
- 2:04Speaker 3: in a Holy Quil? Everywhere? It was the topic conversation
- 2:08Speaker 3: among me and my friends. We would spout the lines
- 2:11Speaker 3: we could. We watched it together so many times that
- 2:13Speaker 3: we could literally recite line by line the entire movie
- 2:18Speaker 3: as it played. Yeah, we were pretty enthusiastic about it.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Then I went to college and forgot they existed for
- 2:24Speaker 3: about twenty years. But now I'm back.
- 2:26Speaker 2: You were in college for twenty years.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it was the longest time anyone's ever spent that college.
- 2:31Speaker 3: They eventually got tired of me and kicked me out.
- 2:33Speaker 5: But just take the degree.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I finally got that associate's degree, So you should be
- 2:39Speaker 1: really what about you, Matt? Other than being British? Do
- 2:43Speaker 1: you got any bona fides.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I mean, that's probably my strongest connection. No, I do
- 2:50Speaker 2: love Monty Python. I didn't really have it growing up.
- 2:53Speaker 2: It wasn't something that my parents introduced me to because
- 2:57Speaker 2: they're lame. But I watched it in college or university
- 3:03Speaker 2: as I used to call it, and loved Holy Grail.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Thought it was just absolute genius and was like, oh,
- 3:09Speaker 2: this is where all of comedy in the last forty
- 3:11Speaker 2: years has come from. This is fantastic. And then yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 2: definitely watched all of Flying Circus on Netflix at some
- 3:19Speaker 2: point in the early days of when that was the thing.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I mean, it's Monty Pipe, It's Monty Python. I'm supposed
- 3:25Speaker 2: to say it's a classic because I have this accent.
- 3:28Speaker 4: You're right, it's yeah.
- 3:30Speaker 3: So I have to.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Speaking of trees, and you guys are going to need
- 3:34Speaker 1: some opponents. So may I introduce the captain of the
- 3:37Speaker 1: second team. She's a scientist and a comedian with an
- 3:40Speaker 1: incredibly specific case of anglophilia. Was testast heone circus. It's Stevenson.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Hello, it is wonderful to be here.
- 3:51Speaker 1: How is your Python knowledge steady?
- 3:56Speaker 5: I'm glad you finished that, honestly. Oh yeah, I'm disappointed
- 4:01Speaker 5: that you finished the sentence.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 4:06Speaker 5: My Python knowledge is existent. Similarly, I didn't get introduced
- 4:13Speaker 5: to Monty Python too early on in my life. I
- 4:17Speaker 5: got introduced to doctor Who very early, but not that
- 4:22Speaker 5: was like the the only British thing that made it
- 4:26Speaker 5: to my household.
- 4:27Speaker 2: And your parents will like, that's too much Pritish.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Yeah, this is too quaint. No, not the word I
- 4:36Speaker 5: would use to describe Monty Python. But I got introduced
- 4:41Speaker 5: to it later on and thoroughly enjoyed myself. But we'll
- 4:45Speaker 5: see how much of it stuck.
- 4:47Speaker 1: You got a ringer, We got a partner for you
- 4:48Speaker 1: here making his gate Leaper's debut. He is a writer
- 4:53Speaker 1: of comedy, horror and autoerotic fiction, A D and D
- 4:56Speaker 1: player from a barstool deep in the English Midlands.
- 4:59Speaker 4: It's Steve Weatherall, Hey, how you doing? Glad to be here?
- 5:03Speaker 4: Definitely not going to let the team down.
- 5:08Speaker 1: So Steve, what is what is your background with Monty Python.
- 5:13Speaker 4: I'm from near Leicester, where Graham Chapman was from, so
- 5:17Speaker 4: geographically pretty specific but culturally yeah, my parents did not
- 5:22Speaker 4: like Munty Python at all. But I had a cool
- 5:24Speaker 4: uncle who had a mullet and heavy metal album. So
- 5:27Speaker 4: a stack of Monty Python dv well, not DVDs back
- 5:31Speaker 4: then it would have been fucking I don't know, stone tablets.
- 5:34Speaker 4: But yeah, he left me unsupervised with him. I watched
- 5:40Speaker 4: The Meaning of Life when I was about eight. Watching
- 5:43Speaker 4: that when I was about eight, but it's very educational.
- 5:46Speaker 4: I think John Clees wants to describe the formula for
- 5:49Speaker 4: Monty Python is saying something very clever in a stupid way,
- 5:53Speaker 4: or something very stupid in a clever way. And I
- 5:55Speaker 4: think if you look at all of their sketches, it
- 5:58Speaker 4: just does boil down to that, and it will also
- 5:59Speaker 4: be look at any great British comedy after that. That
- 6:03Speaker 4: seems to be a formula. So yeah, culturally, as somebody
- 6:06Speaker 4: who's attempted to write comedy, I think they're pretty important.
- 6:10Speaker 5: The first time I watched Meaning of Life, I was
- 6:11Speaker 5: at a Christian university and I was still quite religious,
- 6:16Speaker 5: and so I felt like an eight year old who
- 6:20Speaker 5: shouldn't be watching.
- 6:21Speaker 1: This bloody Catholics.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Yeah, everything I know about religion I learned from the
- 6:27Speaker 4: Meaning of Life, and so honestly.
- 6:30Speaker 5: You probably know a lot more than the people I
- 6:32Speaker 5: was going to school with.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Okay, teams, Well, the foot has dropped and there's a
- 6:36Speaker 1: naked man playing the piano. So I'd like each of
- 6:38Speaker 1: you to come up with a Python themed team name.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Please.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Let's start with Aaron and Matt.
- 6:44Speaker 2: First of all, Aaron, let's congratulate Ben on his copy. Oh,
- 6:49Speaker 2: he's doing great.
- 6:50Speaker 1: It's worse good, very good.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I'm pressed so far, Natt. It seems obvious, but you
- 6:57Speaker 3: and I both host comedy podcasts. How can we be
- 7:01Speaker 3: anything other than the Ministry of Silly Talks.
- 7:05Speaker 2: That is fantastic and better than anything I've got written
- 7:08Speaker 2: down on my front.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Oh dang it, I was gonna say that.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I think we are absolutely going for the Ministry of
- 7:16Speaker 2: Silly Talks if I was trying to think of something
- 7:18Speaker 2: earlier today that fitted the branding of us both hosting
- 7:21Speaker 2: comedy game show style podcasts. But Ministry of Silly Talks
- 7:25Speaker 2: is absolutely it.
- 7:26Speaker 3: That fell into my brain minutes before we started, and
- 7:29Speaker 3: I was like, no, everything else is out the window, gone,
- 7:32Speaker 3: nothing can dp that.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Yep, that's that's what it's gonna be. Will you indulge
- 7:36Speaker 2: my list of five for the sas comedy please? Okay,
- 7:40Speaker 2: I've got the Sacred Sperms, the very Naughty Boys, two
- 7:46Speaker 2: Yorkshiremen except only one really like that, the two headed
- 7:51Speaker 2: Knight and the Knights who say go fuck yourselves solid.
- 7:58Speaker 2: But the Ministry of Silly Talks will abbsolute be our
- 8:00Speaker 2: team name this evening?
- 8:02Speaker 4: All right?
- 8:02Speaker 1: So the Ministry of Silly Talks it is. But who
- 8:05Speaker 1: will they be facing? Ora and Steve oh Man.
- 8:09Speaker 4: I did not come prepared for this that you guys
- 8:12Speaker 4: have just said, all the all the ones I thought
- 8:15Speaker 4: of sort of desperately in what I'm now realizing is
- 8:19Speaker 4: a panic attack. I'm sorry.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Four four, I have four. A couple of them I
- 8:29Speaker 5: think are okay.
- 8:32Speaker 4: The only what I could think of is absolutely the
- 8:35Speaker 4: best podcast team and make God struck me down if
- 8:37Speaker 4: I'm wrong.
- 8:39Speaker 5: I love It.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Only really works if I immediately get struck by lighting that.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Or if we win.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah wait, no.
- 8:51Speaker 5: I have agreement clinic fully living parrots. There isn't a
- 9:01Speaker 5: pun or anything in this. I just liked the wafer
- 9:04Speaker 5: thin mints and then really big feet picks. I am
- 9:17Speaker 5: leaning towards either agreement clinic or really big feet picks.
- 9:21Speaker 4: I think really big feet picks that's not just good,
- 9:25Speaker 4: that's sexy.
- 9:26Speaker 3: It's hell yeah, I really look forward to you guys
- 9:30Speaker 3: buzzing him in the final round with feet picks.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Yep, I look forward to that as well. That assumes
- 9:38Speaker 5: that I know the answers to.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Excellent. So we've got the ministry of silly talks versus
- 9:47Speaker 1: the really good feet picks the.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Big big only because I think that is the Python
- 9:53Speaker 2: reference that is.
- 9:55Speaker 3: It's just just I mean, if you think it really
- 10:01Speaker 3: good foot that's slammed into the middle of the scene.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Charge a lot of money.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Excellent. So if you're listening to this and thinking I
- 10:11Speaker 1: don't recall Monty Hall ever owning a Python, don't worry.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Here's Professor Audra Gumby with a little segment we like
- 10:17Speaker 1: to call passing knowledge.
- 10:22Speaker 5: Monty Python were a British comedy troupe formed in nineteen
- 10:25Speaker 5: sixty nine, consisting of Graham Chapman, John Clease, Terry Gilliam,
- 10:29Speaker 5: Eric Idol, Billy Tillman, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Cecil Billingham,
- 10:34Speaker 5: Quentin Smythe, Daniel Chapman, and most importantly Monty the Ball
- 10:39Speaker 5: Python all Bose Tree No, most of them are not true.
- 10:44Speaker 5: The group came to prominence for the sketch comedy series
- 10:47Speaker 5: Monty Python's Flying Circus, which aired on the BBC from
- 10:51Speaker 5: nineteen sixty nine to nineteen seventy four, primarily under the
- 10:55Speaker 5: Prime ministership of Sir Edward Heath, which begs the question
- 11:00Speaker 5: what the fuck is a flying circus? Their comedy developed
- 11:03Speaker 5: into a larger collection that included live shows, films, albums,
- 11:08Speaker 5: books and musicals. Their influence on comedy has been compared
- 11:12Speaker 5: to the Beatles' influence on music, and They're something Else
- 11:16Speaker 5: has been compared to the something else of Something Else.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Didn't finish the Wikipedia page.
- 11:24Speaker 5: People love Monty Python because it manages to be absolutely absurd, lighthearted,
- 11:30Speaker 5: and silly without insulting the intelligence of the audience, or
- 11:34Speaker 5: at least not in a way the audience could understand.
- 11:37Speaker 5: And now for something completely different, let's play fandemonium.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Yes, thank you, anddra Just before we get to today's games,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I've asked each player to bring in a muse, something
- 11:49Speaker 1: that inspires them or something they love from this particular fandom.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Monty Python is inspiring to me because I too enjoyed
- 11:56Speaker 1: dressing up as an old woman and re enacting historical battles. Aaron,
- 12:02Speaker 1: we'll start with you, what's inspiring you from the world
- 12:05Speaker 1: of Monty Python.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I have a weird sort of obsession with dead things,
- 12:12Speaker 3: like not like corpses, but just things that have been
- 12:17Speaker 3: passed by by the world, you know, so to speak.
- 12:19Speaker 3: So somewhere in like the mid two thousands, maybe early
- 12:22Speaker 3: twenty tens, I started scrolling around on the eBay, and
- 12:25Speaker 3: I was just looking for like collectible card games that
- 12:28Speaker 3: nobody cared about, you know, things that were now being
- 12:32Speaker 3: sold for like pennies on the dollar for what they
- 12:34Speaker 3: would have cost when they came out, you know. And
- 12:37Speaker 3: I collected some classics like Gihad, which is the The
- 12:41Speaker 3: Vampire the Masquerade collectible card game created by Richard Garfield.
- 12:47Speaker 3: That I got the Wing Commander collectible card games. Found
- 12:55Speaker 3: those online. Was delighted to see that that exists, but
- 13:00Speaker 3: they started going a little crazy after that point. I'm like,
- 13:02Speaker 3: I might as well get everything I get my hands on.
- 13:04Speaker 3: So I have the Austin Powers collectible card game. I
- 13:08Speaker 3: have the Buffy the Vampire Slayer collectible card game.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Wow, that's a lot to the display box.
- 13:15Speaker 3: The absolute jewel of my collection, the Monty Python and
- 13:19Speaker 3: the Holy Grail collectible card game. A display box of
- 13:23Speaker 3: starter decks, which I was, to my dismay, very quickly
- 13:28Speaker 3: realized they had all been opened. None of them were sealed.
- 13:34Speaker 3: This is what I trot out whenever I meet someone new.
- 13:37Speaker 3: It has actually made me friends who are like, can
- 13:39Speaker 3: we play it? And I'm like, sure, let's play right now.
- 13:42Speaker 3: It is not a very good game. It is, however,
- 13:46Speaker 3: and you will laugh while playing it, so I think
- 13:48Speaker 3: that's the worthwhile thing. But no one has ever asked
- 13:50Speaker 3: to play a second time, if that tells you anything.
- 13:54Speaker 4: If they were a good game, i'd be disappointed.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think there'd be something slightly wrong if
- 14:00Speaker 3: it was a really good game.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Python Collectical Card Game sounds like a Monty Python sketches, And.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it kind of fits very neatly into that thing
- 14:11Speaker 3: where it like it's it's a clever thing done badly
- 14:15Speaker 3: or stupidly. Yes, I don't think we can call it
- 14:18Speaker 3: a stupid thing done cleverly, because like I said, it's
- 14:21Speaker 3: not a good game, but it very much fits into
- 14:23Speaker 3: that same vein just by its existence of being just
- 14:26Speaker 3: kind of meh.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I'd be shocked if the Monty Python Collectible Card Game
- 14:32Speaker 2: was a good game. If it was like a hidden gem,
- 14:34Speaker 2: groundbreaking game mechanics kind of game. I'd be surprised it.
- 14:38Speaker 5: Has a comeback at the game stores.
- 14:41Speaker 3: But I am deadly serious when I say that this
- 14:44Speaker 3: card game has actually made me friends. So I am
- 14:49Speaker 3: forever grateful to it, no matter how stupid it is.
- 14:51Speaker 5: Honestly excellent, I'm so grateful to it, no matter how
- 14:54Speaker 5: stupid it is. Is how I feel about friends. My God,
- 15:00Speaker 5: we are so dumb, and I'm so grateful for this.
- 15:03Speaker 1: All right, what about what about you?
- 15:05Speaker 4: Matt?
- 15:05Speaker 2: I've guessed I'm going to go with my current sketch
- 15:09Speaker 2: group that I'm in that I get to perform in
- 15:12Speaker 2: on a quarterly basis, that is a lot of fun,
- 15:15Speaker 2: called the Dead Puppets Society because puppets regularly feature in
- 15:19Speaker 2: those sketches. I'm very fortunate to be part of a
- 15:22Speaker 2: theater community. And even though improv, stand up, you name it,
- 15:29Speaker 2: every other form of comedy is currently more popular than
- 15:32Speaker 2: sketch comedy is, we can still get fifty people in
- 15:35Speaker 2: a room once a quarter and do a bunch of
- 15:37Speaker 2: sketches and it's a lot of fun. So I'm gonna
- 15:39Speaker 2: say my muse is the Dead Puppets Society because a
- 15:43Speaker 2: bunch of people there are clearly influenced by Python. You
- 15:46Speaker 2: can see it in a lot of the the bones
- 15:48Speaker 2: of a lot of the sketches I've written, like a
- 15:50Speaker 2: python esque sketch myself that was to do with Stonehenge.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Maybe it only felt pythones because it was to do
- 15:56Speaker 2: with the history of Britain. But yes, I'm gonna say
- 15:59Speaker 2: my sketch group is my use because they are a
- 16:00Speaker 2: wonderful group of people, The Dead Puppet Society in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Check out peak. I was gonna say, nice plug too. There,
- 16:09Speaker 2: work that out seamless. Thanks, Thanks everyone.
- 16:13Speaker 1: All right, ur Joe, what's your muse?
- 16:15Speaker 5: I am inspired by the concept of manifesting, which is
- 16:18Speaker 5: a very nice way of, in my instance, lying, because
- 16:26Speaker 5: so many of my friends throughout high school were like Aaron,
- 16:30Speaker 5: so obsessed with Monty Python and could quote all of
- 16:34Speaker 5: these things. I did not watch it until college, and
- 16:40Speaker 5: I just was pretending. I was just pretending I heard
- 16:44Speaker 5: the quotes, and I could mimic people quite effectively, and
- 16:49Speaker 5: so I lied to them for a number of years.
- 16:53Speaker 5: And then when I finally did watch it at university,
- 16:57Speaker 5: some sketches, Holy Grail, et cetera. I didn't understand it,
- 17:02Speaker 5: still pretended, and then watched it again and was like,
- 17:07Speaker 5: now I understand, and so I just think that manifesting
- 17:11Speaker 5: is a really powerful thing. You just yeah, if you
- 17:16Speaker 5: just lie, eventually you will find that place of joy
- 17:21Speaker 5: that is really genuine, that's incredibly inspiring.
- 17:24Speaker 4: I was fully prepared for your story to be and
- 17:27Speaker 4: then I actually watched it and it sucked and I
- 17:29Speaker 4: never saw those friends again. Rode off on my motorcycle,
- 17:37Speaker 4: so long loses enjoy and knights to say, whatever, yeah.
- 17:43Speaker 5: Ride off on my motorcycle. It's just a big balloon
- 17:46Speaker 5: that I let air out of.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Its still cool.
- 17:53Speaker 1: And finally, Steve, what gets your motor gone?
- 17:58Speaker 4: Well? And again, thank you for the heads up on it,
- 18:01Speaker 4: so I had time to prepare.
- 18:03Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Yeah, if we're talking about I guess how it has
- 18:09Speaker 4: inspired me. I would bring in the first feature screenplay
- 18:15Speaker 4: I wrote when I was about fifteen, called mcderreck that
- 18:19Speaker 4: was heavily influenced basically Life of Brian but for Marcbeth
- 18:25Speaker 4: nice and it was probably probably terrible, I imagine, But
- 18:32Speaker 4: I met some very dear friends when I was doing it,
- 18:34Speaker 4: and it turned out sort of became a unifying thing
- 18:37Speaker 4: where we all found out that because you weren't allowed
- 18:39Speaker 4: to admit certain things in school for fear of violence.
- 18:42Speaker 4: So it was like, oh right, you like this a
- 18:46Speaker 4: weird shit from the seventies too. We can all safely
- 18:49Speaker 4: like this weird shit. You know, the violent children don't
- 18:53Speaker 4: need to know. Yeah. I met some dear friends and
- 18:59Speaker 4: one of them went on to almost collaborate on my
- 19:04Speaker 4: first book with me, kind of collaborated, but then got
- 19:07Speaker 4: bored and I wrote the book. So yeah, it is
- 19:12Speaker 4: instrumental the script mcdrek. I guess it's out there somewhere.
- 19:16Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 19:16Speaker 1: I was gonna say, where can we go to watch mcdrek? Like, Yeah,
- 19:20Speaker 1: it was made into a feature length film, I presume.
- 19:23Speaker 4: As yet to be produced.
- 19:24Speaker 5: I'm still waiting on the funding.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yeah, kick started here.
- 19:28Speaker 2: We can manifest and make it happen.
- 19:31Speaker 5: Just start lying to people and saying that it exists
- 19:33Speaker 5: out there.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Yeah. I was waiting on my mom and dad to
- 19:37Speaker 4: lend me their video camera and give me like sixty bucks,
- 19:41Speaker 4: but it didn't happen, probably for the best.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd love to stop recording this podcast and watch
- 19:48Speaker 2: mcderrek right now.
- 19:49Speaker 5: Yeah, we just switched.
- 19:50Speaker 2: The rest of the podcast is yeah gate Leapers mcderrek instead.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Uh huh, it remains a hypothetical. Sadly who knows around
- 20:00Speaker 4: one day. It's not too late, never ever too late.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Those are all excellent muses. I feel, I feel well
- 20:06Speaker 1: and duly inspired. So right, teams, let's grip it by
- 20:09Speaker 1: the husk and fly into round one.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Oh wow, you've lugged up the sound. Wow, you've done
- 20:19Speaker 2: a thing that I've not bother to do.
- 20:20Speaker 1: In full yeahs. Round one is called and now for
- 20:24Speaker 1: something twenty percent bullshit, We will be asking our players
- 20:28Speaker 1: to sort the wheat from the chaff, with the wheat
- 20:30Speaker 1: being things from the real Python fandom and the chaff
- 20:32Speaker 1: being lies that I included to fool them. Each team
- 20:35Speaker 1: will take turns spinning the wheel of Death for their categories.
- 20:39Speaker 1: They will then be presented with a list of five things,
- 20:41Speaker 1: two of which are fabrications. If you fall into one
- 20:44Speaker 1: of my traps, you'll be thrown into the gorge of
- 20:46Speaker 1: eternal peril and frozen out of the rest of the list.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Isn't two out of five bullshit?
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yeah? The mass isn't mapping into the.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Yes, it is.
- 20:59Speaker 2: You're correct, I don't know that.
- 21:04Speaker 1: All right. So as you can see, our topics are prejudice,
- 21:08Speaker 1: cause of death, records, spam characters, and out of stock.
- 21:15Speaker 1: A random neuron firing in my brain has decided that
- 21:20Speaker 1: really big feat picks will go first. I think I have.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Personally via a new run. Yeah, yeah, yes, yes.
- 21:28Speaker 1: So are you guys ready to spin this wheel?
- 21:31Speaker 5: Yeah? Spin that wheel.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Records said that really weird records records. All right, so
- 21:41Speaker 1: I'm going to start going. I'm going to go through
- 21:43Speaker 1: the list and then you guys can confirm them one
- 21:46Speaker 1: at a time. You don't have to put the list
- 21:48Speaker 1: in order. Keep in mind, after you have picked them,
- 21:52Speaker 1: they are you got lock them in and if you
- 21:53Speaker 1: pick a wrong one, you are out. So the list
- 21:58Speaker 1: is official album releases Monty Python's Contractual Obligation album, the
- 22:04Speaker 1: Final ripoff Monty Python's previous record, and now for something
- 22:09Speaker 1: completely different, Monty Python Live at the Royal Albert Hall.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Hmmm, oh those are all good tiles. Yes, Live at
- 22:20Speaker 4: the Albert Hall seems like an easy one because everybody
- 22:25Speaker 4: did a live at the Albert Hall and that was
- 22:27Speaker 4: kind of a A and an aspirational thing in Britain.
- 22:31Speaker 4: So I could buy that one.
- 22:33Speaker 5: That was one of the ones I was thinking, is
- 22:35Speaker 5: that's if I was going to pick Oh, I was
- 22:39Speaker 5: going to say, if I was going to pick one
- 22:41Speaker 5: that I think might be real, that would probably be.
- 22:45Speaker 4: It sounds pretty real, it does.
- 22:49Speaker 5: It's the one that I have the most leaning towards
- 22:51Speaker 5: possibly being real. Do we have anything that we like
- 22:55Speaker 5: better or that we feel more confident on?
- 22:58Speaker 4: I hope Monty Python's can t actual obligation is a
- 23:02Speaker 4: real one, because that would make me happy. But it's
- 23:05Speaker 4: not about my feelings. It's about reality. Now for something
- 23:10Speaker 4: completely different was a collection name of something, but I'm
- 23:14Speaker 4: pretty sure it was video.
- 23:17Speaker 5: I thought so as well.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not ofay with their audio releases because I'm
- 23:22Speaker 4: not out where I would huddle around the gramophone with granny.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Your uncle didn't have vinyl albums.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Yeah, Beta mass A mullet, goddamn it.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Yeah he was cool.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Ben he drove a Ford Capri.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Get with the program I say, let's lock in the
- 23:42Speaker 5: Royal Albert Hall. That's the one that I'm thinking is
- 23:44Speaker 5: most likely to get us a point.
- 23:48Speaker 4: It's also kind of call me paranoid, but also the
- 23:51Speaker 4: most likely to be a trap, because it's a very
- 23:54Speaker 4: normal aspiration for people to play the Abbot Hall and
- 23:59Speaker 4: that how Yeah? How is Ben with British culture? Does
- 24:06Speaker 4: he know? Does he understand the significance of the Albert Hall? Yeah?
- 24:11Speaker 1: Ben, I couldn't tell you. I've never met the guy.
- 24:13Speaker 4: How evil is Ben?
- 24:17Speaker 5: That's a different question. I'm I'm comfortable locking that one
- 24:21Speaker 5: in as our first one, unless there's one you'd feel
- 24:24Speaker 5: more comfortable.
- 24:25Speaker 4: But let's me know of that. Have a good feeling
- 24:27Speaker 4: about it, all.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Right, So you guys are locking in Monty Python live
- 24:31Speaker 1: at the Royal Albert Hall.
- 24:33Speaker 5: Yes, is that?
- 24:34Speaker 1: I'm afraid that Steve was right. That is a trap
- 24:39Speaker 1: and that is not your list. There are no points
- 24:43Speaker 1: awarded this round.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Screw you, Ben, That unbelievably evil. I am proud of
- 24:51Speaker 2: that trickery and treachery. I think that's uh, that's very classic,
- 24:55Speaker 2: Gately because I love this rude.
- 24:59Speaker 5: What was true?
- 25:00Speaker 1: Monty Python's Contractual Obligation album is correct, so is the
- 25:05Speaker 1: Final Ripoff? And Monty Python's previous record excellent.
- 25:09Speaker 4: All the dumb ones I should have known.
- 25:11Speaker 5: It, We should, we really should go with our heart
- 25:14Speaker 5: more like what we want them to be.
- 25:17Speaker 4: They were very much about that. Yeah, we give a
- 25:20Speaker 4: ship about Herbert Hoole were stupid. That was a stupid all.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Right, So on to the ministry of silly talks. Would
- 25:33Speaker 1: you like me to spin your wheel?
- 25:36Speaker 3: Spin my wheel many times?
- 25:41Speaker 1: Prejudice excellent, hooray, So this category is correct. Answers for
- 25:49Speaker 1: derogatory terms for Belgians from the skit prejudice Joe, your
- 25:56Speaker 1: options are the sprouts, the wafts, the phlems, miserable fat
- 26:03Speaker 1: Belgian bastards, and mayonnaise suckers.
- 26:07Speaker 2: I mean, it's so good it's about the Belgians. It's
- 26:10Speaker 2: so it's so good that that's still fine to say.
- 26:13Speaker 3: I genuinely don't know. I have not seen this sketch
- 26:17Speaker 3: in sometime. I feel like miserable fat Belgian bastards is
- 26:21Speaker 3: a benism.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Oh, I was gonna say. That feels like the like
- 26:25Speaker 2: the final punch of a pythonism, like after you go
- 26:29Speaker 2: on the run of regular sounding ones, no second to
- 26:31Speaker 2: last or second to last, yaya before something short.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's something short and punchy to really nail
- 26:38Speaker 3: it home.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Definitely a semi crescendo and list comedy and they would
- 26:42Speaker 4: get at that sort of thing.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that seems like a classic one of those,
- 26:46Speaker 2: So that would be the one I was most confident in.
- 26:48Speaker 2: How confident do you feel about it?
- 26:50Speaker 3: I think it's a trap, honestly trap. I'd rather go
- 26:53Speaker 3: with one of the others. The Wafts does not seem
- 26:57Speaker 3: like something Ben would make up.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and also the Flems. I don't know if it's
- 27:01Speaker 2: like the fish.
- 27:03Speaker 4: I should have had this. I've been to Belgium quite recently.
- 27:07Speaker 4: I called people all of these.
- 27:14Speaker 2: I think I agree with you, Aaron. I think the
- 27:16Speaker 2: Wolfts is something that maybe wouldn't be made up by Ben. Alright,
- 27:20Speaker 2: let's go.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Then in all right, so you are locking in the wafts. Yes,
- 27:25Speaker 1: Oh this is delicious. Oh no, it is. It is
- 27:31Speaker 1: not the wafts.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Wow, damn it, it's even I underestimated. Is evil.
- 27:38Speaker 1: The answers are the sprouts, the Flems and miserable fat
- 27:42Speaker 1: Belgian bastards.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Damn it.
- 27:47Speaker 4: I really like Ben that you just sat there coming
- 27:50Speaker 4: up with some really passable insults.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Nice new slurs.
- 27:57Speaker 5: You were a little too good at that.
- 28:01Speaker 4: You could see the list of the stuff he didn't Incluyton.
- 28:06Speaker 1: All right on the Patreon back over to really big
- 28:09Speaker 1: feet picks.
- 28:10Speaker 5: It's beIN that wheel.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Oh, it's so close, right on the edge.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Cause of death is the topic. And these are causes
- 28:23Speaker 1: of death of which there were one hundred and forty
- 28:26Speaker 1: six in the Holy Grail. And your options are crushed
- 28:30Speaker 1: by a cow, a fatal heart attack, muled by a rabbit,
- 28:37Speaker 1: smoked by God, and ignorance.
- 28:40Speaker 4: I don't think anyone's directly smoked by God, even though
- 28:43Speaker 4: that was a thing in the meaning of life. Mm hmmm,
- 28:47Speaker 4: I don't know. Somebody did die by ignorance because of
- 28:50Speaker 4: the whole crossing the bridge thing. Yeah, yeah, so that's
- 28:55Speaker 4: that's a definite. That's sid people were mulled by rabbit
- 29:01Speaker 4: came off. That's definitely true. Uh huh, I saw that happen.
- 29:07Speaker 5: Horrific true.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Do you guys want to lock any of those in
- 29:12Speaker 1: as you go down or do you want to.
- 29:14Speaker 5: Just let's lock some in so I know, we get points.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Ignorant locked in.
- 29:22Speaker 1: But it's correct.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Nice, and then the rabbit.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Mauled by rabbit is also correct. Nice deaths there?
- 29:31Speaker 4: Cool?
- 29:32Speaker 5: Did someone actually die from the cow? Because I know
- 29:35Speaker 5: one got flung out from that one of the castles.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the cow hit someone. No, No, somebody
- 29:44Speaker 4: got hit by an arrow. I don't think we saw
- 29:47Speaker 4: anybody get hit by a cow.
- 29:49Speaker 5: Yeah, because I think that would be that would be
- 29:51Speaker 5: a really good trick.
- 29:53Speaker 4: One because the cows were lord.
- 29:56Speaker 5: Cows were launched. Farm animals of variety of various farm
- 30:00Speaker 5: animals were launched.
- 30:02Speaker 4: And this feels like a bend trick because I want
- 30:04Speaker 4: it to be true, and part of my brain is
- 30:06Speaker 4: now filling in the blank where somebody got hit by
- 30:08Speaker 4: the cow, but I don't think it happened.
- 30:11Speaker 5: Do we want to go with a heart attack.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Yeah, because somebody did. If I could nail down when
- 30:18Speaker 4: somebody did die of a fatal heart attack, because that
- 30:20Speaker 4: happened a lot outside of Holy Grail. I'm just trying
- 30:23Speaker 4: to remember where it happened in Holy Grail. If indeed
- 30:26Speaker 4: it did.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Ben's enjoined this power too much. Look at it.
- 30:29Speaker 1: It was fun.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Jacket has gone straight to your head.
- 30:34Speaker 2: He's old jacket.
- 30:35Speaker 1: It's got big shoulder pads.
- 30:37Speaker 4: It's so bad anymore. It's just a jacket.
- 30:40Speaker 5: I can't think of it. Oh, certainly someone died of
- 30:44Speaker 5: a heart attack.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Yeah, because everybody died of stupid things in a transition period.
- 30:50Speaker 5: Uh huh? Was there someone in like in the scenes
- 30:53Speaker 5: in Holy Grail where it's like the presenter and he
- 30:57Speaker 5: gets killed, but then the people are investigating it and
- 31:00Speaker 5: they died of sudden heart attack. That's not a good accent.
- 31:04Speaker 4: But no, he was killed by a man on a horse. Yes,
- 31:10Speaker 4: but we all saw that.
- 31:11Speaker 5: How did his wife die? Did his wife have a
- 31:14Speaker 5: heart attack? I don't know, I hope. So these are
- 31:19Speaker 5: the important questions of our age.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to christ you guys for an answer. Here,
- 31:24Speaker 2: great hosting, great hosting.
- 31:26Speaker 4: If my brain starts to feel in blanks and age
- 31:29Speaker 4: comes up with any old bullshit, there's a really good
- 31:31Speaker 4: chance it might be true because there was a lot
- 31:33Speaker 4: of bullshit. Yeah, a lot of strange things happen.
- 31:37Speaker 5: Let's do we just want to go for heart attack
- 31:39Speaker 5: because it's the one that we've had at the front
- 31:41Speaker 5: of our minds.
- 31:42Speaker 4: Or I think nobody was killed by a cow.
- 31:46Speaker 5: Okay, so let's let's say heart attack. We've got two points.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Regardless, logging and heart attack. Yes, it is heart attack.
- 31:59Speaker 1: It was the mad.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, yes, And there was.
- 32:05Speaker 1: A man crushed by a cow, but he did not die.
- 32:07Speaker 2: That's a survivable access. Yea, everyone knows that.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Fine, all right, back to the Ministry of Silly Talks.
- 32:16Speaker 1: It is time to spin your wheel.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Yeah, we need some points.
- 32:21Speaker 1: And we have characters. Okay, So characters is this just
- 32:26Speaker 1: should be fairly easy, right. This is characters from Monty
- 32:31Speaker 1: Python lore, either in sketches and or movies. And your
- 32:35Speaker 1: options are Raymond, luxury yacht, Tarquin, Finn, tim linn bin
- 32:42Speaker 1: wim bim limb, bus stop, fateang Fa tang ole, biscuit, barrel, assistant,
- 32:48Speaker 1: chief constable, lookout behind you, zoit and Nigel Thrushbottom.
- 32:53Speaker 2: The third The only one Arran that I feel confident
- 32:57Speaker 2: on is the first one. That's one I remember hearing
- 33:01Speaker 2: it a pretty famous sketch, I think, And if it's
- 33:04Speaker 2: a Ben trick, I'm so sorry.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I was gonna say, wasn't suit the name of one
- 33:08Speaker 3: of the women in Monty Python, the Holy Grail?
- 33:11Speaker 2: Yes, sure, let's go with that one first, because that's
- 33:14Speaker 2: definitely true.
- 33:15Speaker 1: So you're locking.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Remembering women, Yes, there usually like two of them.
- 33:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and usually they're not actually women, they're just pithon
- 33:27Speaker 3: guys dressed as women.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Actually, we shouldn't talk too much. That's a better ratio
- 33:31Speaker 2: than this podcast currently, especially so you're locking in zuit. Yes,
- 33:39Speaker 2: is correct? Good catch, Aaron.
- 33:42Speaker 3: I also feel good about the first one that feels
- 33:44Speaker 3: like that would have been the upper Class Twitter the Year.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Yes name yep, locking it inmond luxury hot.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that is also correct. It's not from the upper
- 33:57Speaker 1: class Twitter the Year, but it is correct.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Nice.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Okay, then one of the others must be because they
- 34:04Speaker 3: were all silly names.
- 34:05Speaker 2: I just can't remember the Okay, Ben, What the three
- 34:08Speaker 2: we've got left?
- 34:08Speaker 3: All right?
- 34:08Speaker 1: You have Tarquin Finn, tim Lin, bin Win, bim limb
- 34:12Speaker 1: bust stop the tang f tang ole, biscuit, barrel assistant
- 34:16Speaker 1: chief constable lookout behind you and Nigel Thrushbottom the third.
- 34:22Speaker 3: I want that first one and to be real so bad,
- 34:24Speaker 3: I think I think it is. I want it to
- 34:26Speaker 3: be real so bad please.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I think the other two sound like Ben Trapps, now
- 34:31Speaker 2: that we know that that's an established medium.
- 34:34Speaker 3: No, listen, I've underestimated his evil once. I will not
- 34:38Speaker 3: do it again. He's perfectly capable of coming up with
- 34:42Speaker 3: all of that ship that he.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Said to continue to underestimate his evil.
- 34:47Speaker 3: But because I want it to be real so very badly,
- 34:51Speaker 3: I think we should lock in.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Yeah, all that shit he said, let's all that shit
- 34:55Speaker 2: you said, Ben, that's the one we're looking in.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Yes, the first one exceedingly long that I could not repeat.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Tarquin vinn tim Lin bin wim bim limb bus stop
- 35:04Speaker 1: f tang fa tang ola, biscuit barrel is correct. Yes,
- 35:09Speaker 1: he was one of the candidates for the very silly
- 35:11Speaker 1: party in the election.
- 35:14Speaker 2: And it is very silly.
- 35:16Speaker 1: And I didn't get you with assistant chief constable lookout
- 35:19Speaker 1: behind you.
- 35:20Speaker 2: It was when it was in a field of five,
- 35:22Speaker 2: it was very convincing. As soon as we narrowed it down,
- 35:25Speaker 2: I was like, okay, that's a classic bend trap.
- 35:27Speaker 1: There was an assistant chief constable. There's a man behind you,
- 35:30Speaker 1: and a chief and a chief superintendent. Lookout.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Wow, oh dirty dirty pool old man.
- 35:38Speaker 1: All right, So back to really big feet picks with
- 35:41Speaker 1: the final spin, and the options are spam and out
- 35:45Speaker 1: of stock.
- 35:47Speaker 4: Come on spam.
- 35:49Speaker 5: God damn it, it could hear us.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Yeah, someone else will have to come on spam for
- 35:56Speaker 1: for you guys. You got hey, you've got you got
- 36:02Speaker 1: out of stock, and these are varieties of cheese mentioned
- 36:06Speaker 1: in the cheese shop sketch, and your options are Sage, Derby,
- 36:12Speaker 1: Saint Marceline, Savoyard, Stinking Bishop, and Stilton.
- 36:19Speaker 4: I'm blanking entirely on this on the cheese sketch. For
- 36:22Speaker 4: them to say a load of ridiculous ship and then
- 36:26Speaker 4: just say Stilton sounds quite like a nice subversion of
- 36:32Speaker 4: list comedy that I would expect from money Pipe. And
- 36:34Speaker 4: because Stilton is a silly word, but it's an actual cheese.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Yes, And I don't know if the first three are
- 36:39Speaker 5: real cheeses, but I know the last two are and so,
- 36:44Speaker 5: but I do think Stilton is the funnier choice. M So,
- 36:48Speaker 5: let's let's just lock in.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Let's go just kind of yeah, Stilton is correct, that's
- 36:57Speaker 2: the real cheese.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Well done, Okay, now we just have to cheese use
- 37:00Speaker 4: from the fake cheeses. You Stinking Bishop a real cheese.
- 37:03Speaker 4: It's just a funny word.
- 37:05Speaker 5: I do think it's a real cheese. Yeah, I did
- 37:08Speaker 5: think so. Savoyard does sound like like someone invented a
- 37:13Speaker 5: fancy cheese.
- 37:15Speaker 4: It's nearly wine.
- 37:16Speaker 1: I mean, someone invented all the fancy cheeses.
- 37:19Speaker 5: Mmm mmm, they really did, didn't they.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Savoyard is yeah, it's like somebody went to say savignyon
- 37:29Speaker 4: mm hmm and just fucked that.
- 37:32Speaker 1: But they were too British.
- 37:33Speaker 5: And do you have any instincts? Is there anything you're
- 37:38Speaker 5: leaning towards?
- 37:39Speaker 4: Normally, my cheese instincts are quite keen. In this case,
- 37:45Speaker 4: they are betraying me. Let's go for savoyard because it
- 37:49Speaker 4: does just sound like nearly a word.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Yeah, locking in savoyard. Yes, your cheese instincts have not
- 37:57Speaker 1: betrayed you. Oh it is correct, Okay, Sage Derby.
- 38:03Speaker 4: On my tombstone when I die at fifty two, cheese
- 38:07Speaker 4: instincts never betrayed me.
- 38:09Speaker 5: Never eating too much, stinking Bishop.
- 38:12Speaker 2: I didn't know we were up against such powerful cheese instincts.
- 38:14Speaker 3: Aaron, We're in trouble. My cheese instincts are middling at best.
- 38:20Speaker 5: I have no I have no instinct. So I'm just
- 38:23Speaker 5: willing to do a shot in the dark here best way. Sometimes,
- 38:29Speaker 5: let's go.
- 38:32Speaker 2: For the first one, Sage Derby, Yes, locking in stage, say,
- 38:38Speaker 2: locking in, Sage Derby. I'll have to take that.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Take it's correct.
- 38:44Speaker 3: I swept it.
- 38:46Speaker 4: Oh god, I stressful.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Yeah, for they are all real cheeses.
- 38:51Speaker 4: WHOA really, I thought they might be.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Okay, back to uh, the Ministry of Silly talks, And
- 38:58Speaker 1: you guys are left with spam and so spam, spam,
- 39:03Speaker 1: spin that. These these are items on the menu in
- 39:11Speaker 1: the spam sketch. Okay, and you have spam, bacon and spam, spam,
- 39:16Speaker 1: egg sausage and spam, spam, spam, spam, egg and spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam,
- 39:23Speaker 1: baked beans, spam, spam, spam and spam and spam, spam,
- 39:27Speaker 1: spam and spam.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Damn, we've got the cruelest category.
- 39:30Speaker 5: You mean the spam. We've got the cruelest category.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Yeah. The baked beans one is real. I know because
- 39:38Speaker 3: I remember someone ordering that and she goes, we're out
- 39:41Speaker 3: of baked beans.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Let's let's do it that That one does sound very
- 39:46Speaker 2: python esque.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Baked beans is correct.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Nice, Just because we're gonna have to guess them, I
- 39:54Speaker 2: think I want to make you read it. Can you
- 39:57Speaker 2: read the remaining films?
- 39:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna, I'm gonna have you kip one
- 40:00Speaker 3: because I think spam, bacon and spam is not right.
- 40:04Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure there was one that was egg, bacon
- 40:06Speaker 3: and spam, and I think he's just replaced the egg
- 40:08Speaker 3: with another spam.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Okay, I'll skip egg bacon and spam, even though I
- 40:12Speaker 1: just said it and say spam, egg sausage and spam, spam, spam, spam,
- 40:17Speaker 1: egg and spam and spam, spam, spam and spam.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Does it undo the joke of we're out of beans
- 40:25Speaker 2: if you then just say one that's all spam? No?
- 40:27Speaker 2: Does it? Does it add to the joke if you
- 40:29Speaker 2: say it's all spam at the end?
- 40:31Speaker 3: I think I think it adds to the joke, honestly,
- 40:33Speaker 3: And I don't think it was in the end. I
- 40:34Speaker 3: think it was like in the middle somewhere.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Then let's go with it.
- 40:38Speaker 3: It would have been like after spam, egg sausage and spam,
- 40:41Speaker 3: and then spam, spam, spam and spam, and then the
- 40:45Speaker 3: big one, the baked beans. I'm just I'm just, I'm
- 40:49Speaker 3: just throwing stuff at the wall here and seeing what
- 40:50Speaker 3: with sticks We'll go with? Spam, spam, spam and spam, spam.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Spam, spam and spam. Is not correct, Damn Ben.
- 41:01Speaker 4: If you want to say that was an extra spam
- 41:03Speaker 4: in there or something like that.
- 41:05Speaker 3: That would be dirty pool. Yeahmensely dirty pool.
- 41:10Speaker 1: No, the the other correct ones were spam, bacon and
- 41:12Speaker 1: spam and spam, spam, spam, egg, and spam.
- 41:16Speaker 4: Okay, something we can all be proud of is I
- 41:19Speaker 4: think we said spam more times than the original sketch.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Now, Sam, I don't know, because they had a team
- 41:26Speaker 3: of Vikings singing it.
- 41:28Speaker 1: It's a lot of spams.
- 41:29Speaker 2: We'll just have to keep saying spam.
- 41:31Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 41:32Speaker 5: If we want to reach those heights, we.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Gotta spam more of those correct answers so we can
- 41:37Speaker 3: catch up.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Yes, you're saying spam, spam, spam, and spam wasn't a
- 41:40Speaker 2: correct answer.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Ban spam, spam, spam and spam is not correct.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Damn.
- 41:44Speaker 2: I was really hoping spam, spam, spam and spam was
- 41:46Speaker 2: a correct answer.
- 41:47Speaker 3: So did I. I really thought we had spam, spam, smam,
- 41:50Speaker 3: and spam in the bag.
- 41:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean after your spam, spam, spam, baked beans,
- 41:55Speaker 5: spam and spam answer was correct so quickly, I really
- 42:00Speaker 5: thought you had it.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Now we beat those vikings.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Yeah, Matt, again, I'm reminded I need to trust your
- 42:05Speaker 3: instincts over mind.
- 42:06Speaker 2: It's gonna be fine. We got all games.
- 42:08Speaker 5: Yeah, there's plenty of time to prove that theory wrong.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Well, that's the round of vown. That's the round of
- 42:15Speaker 1: end one. Let's let's ask to populate the scores. What's that?
- 42:21Speaker 1: Oh it appears his brain hurts. I guess I'll do
- 42:24Speaker 1: it myself. The Ministry of Silly Talks has four points,
- 42:28Speaker 1: but really big feet Picks has six points.
- 42:32Speaker 4: Wow.
- 42:33Speaker 3: To be fair, really big feet Picks would pull in
- 42:36Speaker 3: more initially initially.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Up next, it is round two, right after this ad
- 42:43Speaker 1: from Chrem toothpaste, now with fraudulent see you after this?
- 42:47Speaker 1: And then I guess I'll hit this again.
- 42:51Speaker 2: My mind is flowing? How are you making that happen?
- 42:55Speaker 1: Round two is called the Ministry of Silly Wanks. Monty
- 42:58Speaker 1: Python is silly, and Gates is a game. So I
- 43:01Speaker 1: figured we'd play our silliest game, mass Tasker.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Oh no, oh no.
- 43:08Speaker 1: That's right, it's our play on the.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Hit show Test or go put some pants on, dammit.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Each team has a list of ten mystery tasks that
- 43:18Speaker 1: they will have five minutes to complete. They can complete
- 43:21Speaker 1: them in any order they wish the Ministry of Silly
- 43:24Speaker 1: Talks will go first, and I will start the number
- 43:29Speaker 1: when you choose your first number out of ten. Let
- 43:32Speaker 1: me get my five minute timer ready here, let me stretch.
- 43:36Speaker 5: Do you want to get something to write down? What numbers?
- 43:38Speaker 1: Yeah? You guys all ready?
- 43:40Speaker 2: I think I can. I'm gonna play this straight, like

- 43:44Speaker 2: going to hold the numbers away.
- 43:46Speaker 3: All right. I'm actually gonna keep notes.
- 43:49Speaker 2: But that's why I'm playing it straight, because I was
- 43:54Speaker 2: going to keep notes.
- 43:55Speaker 3: All right.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Uh, Matt, you want to be a runner, I can't
- 43:58Speaker 2: be running.

- 51:57Speaker 1: Fetch me a shrubbery.
- 51:59Speaker 4: Okay, go one planet in the house, and I don't
- 52:03Speaker 4: want to bring it because you have the planet equivalent
- 52:06Speaker 4: of the R S p C. A will surely have
- 52:07Speaker 4: be in prison. That planet is not looking good.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Oh no, that didn't sound French at all.
- 52:12Speaker 5: All right, no, nudge nudge, know what I mean.

- 53:07Speaker 1: The fuck this episode? It sucks. I mean, that is
- 53:09Speaker 1: complaining about.
- 53:10Speaker 4: You didn't say it had to be articulate or even fair.
- 53:13Speaker 4: I did not.
- 53:15Speaker 5: You did not. Okay, nudge nudge, know what I mean.
- 53:22Speaker 4: I mean.

- 53:27Speaker 1: So yes, other than talking like a French taunter for
- 53:31Speaker 1: the remainder of the challenge. You guys got the other nine.
- 53:34Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Odra also missed one. Think she took her headphones off
- 53:40Speaker 3: and she said, am we gonna go? And she did
- 53:43Speaker 3: not follow it up but nude nudge. Yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 5: I was hoping no one would notice, all right, So
- 53:49Speaker 5: that's eight and eight.
- 53:50Speaker 3: You hoped wrong.
- 53:53Speaker 4: I had to break my French accent to explain my
- 53:56Speaker 4: pronunciation of Paul Hogan, which I here's a rookie era.
- 54:02Speaker 4: A Frenchman never explains himself.
- 54:04Speaker 2: No, no, A room full of Americans thinking that there's
- 54:07Speaker 2: an Australian called pawn Hook and I's got to be
- 54:11Speaker 2: the right.
- 54:12Speaker 1: Yeah, Bryan and.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Nickel for every time.
- 54:15Speaker 1: That's the end of the round. Let's ask those wankers
- 54:18Speaker 1: and splitters over at the Judea's People Front to calculate
- 54:21Speaker 1: the scores. The Ministry of Silly Talks has twelve points,
- 54:26Speaker 1: but really big Feet is still in the lead with
- 54:28Speaker 1: fourteen points.
- 54:30Speaker 3: This is okay, this is fine, fine high hold on
- 54:35Speaker 3: still in striking distance.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Round three is next, but first some commercials. If Eric
- 54:40Speaker 1: Idol has to keep working into his eighties to pay
- 54:42Speaker 1: the bills. You can spare a little bit of time
- 54:44Speaker 1: for these adverts.
- 54:45Speaker 4: Yeah, don't skip a finger of Eric idol grateful breaks.
- 54:51Speaker 1: He's clearly getting paid for this. Round three is called
- 54:59Speaker 1: nudge Nudge know you this scene because of course here
- 55:02Speaker 1: at gate Lebers we value the opinions of strangers, but
- 55:05Speaker 1: just how valuable are they in helping you guess this scene?
- 55:08Speaker 1: In this game, I will be presenting you with three
- 55:11Speaker 1: clues drawn from the YouTube comets section of a famous
- 55:13Speaker 1: Monty Python scene. All you need to do is identify
- 55:16Speaker 1: the scene or sketch to win. Guess correctly on the
- 55:19Speaker 1: first clue, and you'll receive five points, two for the
- 55:23Speaker 1: second clue, and a single point if you need all
- 55:26Speaker 1: three clues. If after three clues you haven't identified the
- 55:29Speaker 1: correct scene, the opposing team will have a chance to
- 55:32Speaker 1: steal for one point. Hey, and we are going to
- 55:38Speaker 1: start with really big feet picks because it's your turn. Heck, yes,
- 55:42Speaker 1: this clue one. Truth in satire can sometimes be humorous,
- 55:47Speaker 1: yet it also points to the seriousness of not paying
- 55:50Speaker 1: attention and to turning up of a blind eye by
- 55:54Speaker 1: those claiming to protect us for our own good.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Special I have no idea.
- 56:04Speaker 1: You're not punished for wrong guesses, so you know, throw
- 56:08Speaker 1: something out.
- 56:08Speaker 5: I'm trying to think of any sketch or any scene
- 56:10Speaker 5: that had a cop notable.
- 56:13Speaker 4: Ones the Spanish Inquisition. They were kind of looking out
- 56:17Speaker 4: for our best interests, like spiritually.
- 56:27Speaker 5: The likelihood that we're going to get this. On the
- 56:29Speaker 5: first clue, let's just say the Spanish Inquisition.
- 56:35Speaker 1: It is not the Spanish Inquisition.
- 56:37Speaker 2: Well, could have expected it, well, but no, that's the problem.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Clue number two. This Britain certainly has a bizarrely diverse
- 56:46Speaker 1: ecosystem of wildlife sloths, carp and especially orangue tangs.
- 56:52Speaker 5: I have nothing, there's no spark of knowledge occurring.
- 56:57Speaker 4: I want to say, Holy Kurile. It sounds like the
- 57:00Speaker 4: the science guy from the Holy Grail team.
- 57:03Speaker 5: Yes, let's go with the introduction of the science guy.
- 57:08Speaker 5: He's the one in blue.
- 57:10Speaker 4: I don't think he was called the science guy.
- 57:11Speaker 5: He had a duck bill, yes, sir Bill n the
- 57:15Speaker 5: science he had he was in the blue.
- 57:19Speaker 3: And I believe he was credited as William Nye.
- 57:21Speaker 5: But he had the screen on the front of his
- 57:27Speaker 5: helmet that couldn't stay up.
- 57:28Speaker 4: In the most terry Jones.
- 57:31Speaker 1: That one you're close with guessing who he is, but
- 57:36Speaker 1: it's not. Okay, clue number three. This movie is my
- 57:41Speaker 1: dad's favorite and the reason I've been terrified of rabbits
- 57:44Speaker 1: for thirty one years.
- 57:47Speaker 5: Okay, so it is Holy Grail, but we just need
- 57:50Speaker 5: to nail down the scene.
- 57:52Speaker 4: Right, So Holy Grail, diverse wildlife people looking out for
- 57:58Speaker 4: his just repeating some words in the last few minutes.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Format point of this game. The first one's usually the
- 58:08Speaker 1: most worthless.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Yeah, the first one is usually just look how silly
- 58:13Speaker 2: YouTube commenters are.
- 58:17Speaker 4: It sounds like the socially aware peasant.
- 58:21Speaker 5: Yes, yes, I agree.
- 58:24Speaker 1: So you guys are going for socially Yeah, that's the
- 58:27Speaker 1: help help I'm being oppressed scene.
- 58:29Speaker 4: I'm afraid it isn't.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Oh I thought they were right, the Ministry of Silly Talks.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Would you like to try and we leap on the
- 58:37Speaker 2: rabbit comment and say it's the beast, the great terrible
- 58:42Speaker 2: beast in the cave and just say it's that scene.
- 58:46Speaker 1: I will give it to you because it is all
- 58:48Speaker 1: kind of one scene there, but it is the holy.
- 58:53Speaker 4: See Spanish Inquisition.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Nearly we were onto something.
- 58:58Speaker 1: When he's reading out the uh the instructions to the
- 59:01Speaker 1: Holy Grand handgrey is when he mentioned Sarsloth's carps and
- 59:04Speaker 1: a ring at Huh, clever, clever, right onto the ministry
- 59:11Speaker 1: of silly talks. The moment he brought up wife, I
- 59:15Speaker 1: felt slimesickles pain when he heard unlimited bacon.
- 59:20Speaker 4: Okay, it's just having a stroke now.
- 59:22Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I mean it seems to be pointing to
- 59:27Speaker 2: the spam. Let's say, let's say spam for this first one.
- 59:31Speaker 3: Yeah, let's just say spam.
- 59:33Speaker 1: It's not spam. Okay, number two. This fact made it
- 59:37Speaker 1: ten times funnier. I just learned the extras had no
- 59:41Speaker 1: clue about this scene. The main actors practiced this several
- 59:44Speaker 1: times a day before, and these poor extras were instructed
- 59:47Speaker 1: not to react what's soever to what they heard. Their
- 59:51Speaker 1: reaction is genuine and then natural as the director wanted
- 59:54Speaker 1: to capture their genuine reaction.
- 59:57Speaker 2: Okay, this makes me think it's one of the films,
- 59:59Speaker 2: like one.
- 59:59Speaker 3: Of Yeah, I think it might be missed Creosote. Okay,
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: the big guy who explodes from eating away for the end.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: Oh, that would be a good thing for the reaction.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Yeah, and it makes sense for the unlimited Bacon and
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: it also makes the wife comment makes sense, like how
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: could this.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Guy be making Yes, Okay, that's gotta be.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: That is an excellent incorrect I was so certain you
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: guys are that that was really good? You made any
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: sense you would have gotten Damn. Every time I feel
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: sad or depressed, I should watch this, as I always
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: burst into laughter. This is top drawer. Any issue with
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: the pronunciation of the English? Are are you going to
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: woam or roam?
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Okay? That does ring a bell of a character? Is it?
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: In?
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: Is it?
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Is it Life of Brian? Is it?
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I need a specific scene?
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the I can picture the character with the
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: speech impediment, and I guess like a big set piece
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: in terms of like the reaction to something combining with that.
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: Is it by any chance? And I'm not making this
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: artificial guess. I'm checking with Matt. Could it be the
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: biggest Dickert scene. Let's go with it because I don't.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: I don't have any better idea, or I should have
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: watched Life of Brian in the last.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Week biggest dick Yes and his wife.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: And yes he has he is the r the whole time,
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: and I was like, and oh yeah, the extras because
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: I remembered reading a fact that Michael Palin deliberately would
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: improvise between takes just to keep those extras on their
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: toes so that when he walked up to them, just
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: to get the bigger reaction out of them.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Okay, back to really big feet picks. Your first clue
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: is isn't that the set from Elizabeth's home with the
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: gay guy she marries in upstairs downstairs? I know the
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: BBC re cycled a lot of sixties a lot in
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: the sixties to the eighties, including taping over some classics
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: no one will ever see again, But is that actually
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: the set from upstairs downstairs?
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: Just fix something?
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: It was a stately home.
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: The one with the words that sound tinny?
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: Is that a sketch?
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:02:31Speaker 5: I was watching compilations and there was a sketch where
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: they're like, that word sounds tinny and they hated it.
- 1:02:38Speaker 5: But it was in a home. It was in a
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: stately home.
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: I can't think of anything that was in a stately
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: home other than the idiot Olympics, which I think we're
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: in a stately home garden. I could be I could
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: be making that or the one wed the Northerners are
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: all talking about how terrible their lives were.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: I called that going home to see my family.
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: When I instantly coil, I'm describing it's enough.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Is that what you want to go with?
- 1:03:10Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Going with the four Yorkshiremen?
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: Four yorkshire Man. That's the one that is incorrect. Okay,
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: dang number two.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: When I used to grade English papers, i'd sometimes see
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: a topic sentence that mentioned the three main points of
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: the paper, and then it'd go on to list four things.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: It always made me think of this sketch.
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: M I what there's a recurring bit in Holy Grail
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: where he doesn't know the number three, like one, two, five,
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: I think is what he always does.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: True, But I do not know.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: I don't know if that's relevant.
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: I can't think of a set that would have been
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: shra upstairs downstairs, but maybe yes, oh yeah, hanging ourselves
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: too much on the first clue.
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: Mm hmm, yeah, I'll just lock in king Arthur doesn't
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: know the number three?
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: That is incorrect?
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: Good?
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: All right, final clip?
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: This would help.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: It's okay. Maybe I made this too hard. I don't know.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: It's always hot to tell you two comments give you
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: what they give you do. I love Monty Python but
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: as a historian, I really dislike the Spanish black legend. FYI,
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Spain executed three hundred witches, while the German principates did
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: it with sixteen thousand, just fifty three times more. Same
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: about extermination. Any Spanish colony has today above eighty percent
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: native and mixed like me, half Indian, half Spanish, something
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: British only did with Pocahontas, while Australia, Canada, the US
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: has a round point seven percent of natives and mixed
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: just one hundred and fourteen times more. Don't you think
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: half a millennium is enough to stop this anti imperialistic propaganda?
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: Incredible?
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: I forgot halfway through that comment that I was supposed
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: to be thinking of a sketch. So I've got nothing.
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: We could could always come back to the Spanish inquisition.
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: No one expects.
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: Sounded vaguely Spanish inquisitioning. Yeah, but they popped up a
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: couple of times.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: Mm hmm, you guys locking in Spanish inquisition.
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: Yeah, it's my best guess.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Who would have expected it? It is, in fact the
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Spanish Inquisition. Yes, very nice.
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: It had to be eventually, it had to be.
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: What you could have done with that Ben has just
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: had like completely unrelated clues to anything, and then it
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: still could have.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Been wasn't It wasn't far off. I mean, apparently that
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: comfy chair might have been on the set of Upstairs Downstairs.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: I never watched eagle eyed BBC fans certainly think so. Yeah,
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: I trust him all right. Back to Ministry of Silly
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Talks number one. This was filmed in the back of
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Hargreave Street and on Greenfield Road in Colne, Lankshire. I
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: used to work in the building at the bottom of
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: which is now in industrial units. I used to babysit
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: two small boys in Hargreave Street. I lived in Cross
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Street West, which runs across the top of these streets
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: parallel to Greenfield's Row. And I lived in Coln for
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: sixty four years all my life so far, I'm positive correct.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: Why don't people have friends anymore?
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: What a magic man.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: It's a man, a sixty four year old man watching
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: YouTube videos and with no friends, like anyone cares.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Should we just say madish inquisition? No?
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: No, no, no, Actually, because he mentioned so many streets,
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: I'm kind of thinking, Granny.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: Gang, Sure, let's do it.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Let's do it not a bad guess?
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: Not a ye?
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Yeah, this song sounds too similar to Consider Yourself from Oliver.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Most parody songs sound like other songs, still hilarious and
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: surprisingly well choreographed.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Well, okay, can sity. I'm imagining how Consider Yourself goes.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: And there's like a bit of a Cockney sing song
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: eness to it. So is it always look on the
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: bright side of life?
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: I was thinking Lumberjack?
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Oh, shure, does that sound like? I mean, it is
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: very like coldless suspenders, like do a do a dance
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: on some cobbles. I don't know, let's go with Lumberjack.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: It's not Lumberjack. Don't worry. This will help you guys out.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: How many of these kids do you think went home
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: and asked their parents what sperm? Mom conversation?
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: Every sperm is sacred?
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: Ha, Yeah it is.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: In fact, every sperm is sacred.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: Yeah, we could. We could have got it after the
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: second one, but we were we were both in completely
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: different directions.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean they dance on cobbles like it's
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: a dude, Dan Cobbles's right there.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Well, you know, maybe it should such a shame because
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: I'm always thinking of spun.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: Just didn't right then, I don't know what it is
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: about lancas Ship incredibly sexy place.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: Meanwhile, I'm always thinking of Granny, so that's why I
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: went straight there.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: All right, excellent, back to uh really big feet picks.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: I love the understated role reversal.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: Here.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: We have a wacky clown who treats their silliness with
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: the utmost serious professionalism, and an unfunny straight man who
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: is trying and failing comically to pitch how silly they are,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: with government backing, of.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: Course, Ministry of silly walks.
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I would that feels like a reasonable good first
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: go minister walks.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: Yes, hot, damn what?
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Yes? Correcked for five five points?
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: Okay, well I didn't think anyone was going to get it,
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: but now I'm going to mention it. This point inflation
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: on this game is wild. Going for five points for
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: the I like it.
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: I thought it was a phenomenal change before, like when
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: you first introduced it, when you were first going through
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: the points. I should have said it then, but I
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: think it was a great update.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, it's it's a nod to the fandom. Somh yeah, yeah,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: three three.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: That's all right, one two five.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Yeah, one two five, that's how you count, right, all right,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: back to Ministry of the Silly Talks. That was quick.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: It might be probably more obvious if you watch the
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: whole episode or the whole season, But I've just realized
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: that the long line of people in the street dressed
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: all the same at the start of the Ministry of
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Silly Walks sketch are just more cops coming to interrupt
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: this sketch.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: So it's from the same episodes. Sketches with cops is
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: like half of Monty Python sketches. Interrupting a sketch A
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: lot interrupting a sketch not uncommon that or people from
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: the military, yeah, or the Spanish Inquisition.
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: Some kind of institution. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: See. I'm now thinking like I'm kind of gonna met
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: a game with just like big Hitters. Does do the
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: police get involved with like dead Parrot at all, just
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: for going for some big hitters here to try and
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: get five points?
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: No, but they do get involved. In the Belgian translation
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: or what was doing, there was a scene where a
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: guy was speaking from a translation manual, but all the
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: lines were ridiculously dirty.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: In the in the second round, my car is.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: Cover craft is full of eels. Yeah, that's the one.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: That's the only one I can think of where I
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: know a cop comes in at the end and it
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: interrupts things.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: Should we say it for five even though it's been
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: referenced in the episode already?
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Ah yeah, I don't know if you would double dip.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: I think he might double dip. I think Ben might
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: forget that he's referenced the sketch already.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: And then I really, after they read that on that clue,
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: that was way too easy for five points.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: I agree, but I'm not going to debate it right now.
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: I think it was a really masterfully written clue, like
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: well found you would.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: Let's yeah, let's go with the Belgian.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: I've got nothing else.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: Let's let's do it.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Uh No, it is not the Hungarian. It's been about
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: fifteen years since I've seen this sketch for the first time,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: and I'm just now realizing this is what happens on
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Twitter every day.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: Okay, so probably something to do with people arguing and fighting.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: Does someone does a cops show up in argument clinic?
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: I don't remember that.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: I mean again, lots of the sketches do end with
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: cops and military come in.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: But I mean argument clinic was basically Twitter before Twitter
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: was Twitter.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go with argument clinic. It's argument, not stuff.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: One clue too late, does it does?
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: It does end with cops coming in after he goes
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: on you know, after he goes into the next door
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: on getting hit in the head lessons.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: It's funny stuff, good shit.
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: Good times.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: That's the end of round one. Let's ask Terry gill
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: to calculate Oh what, yes, yes, in fact it is
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: it says that here in the script I'm not good
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: at reading. That's the end of round three. Let's ask
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Terry gilly im to calculate the scores. He's just sent
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: me an animation of an old man coming out of
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: the nose of a naked woman. So clearly that means
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: that the Ministry of Silly Walks has seventeen points, but
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: real big feet picks has twenty points.
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: Oh incredible, we.
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: Did get an easy one, but then again we've got
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: a hard one to you mice full of ups and downs.
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: That's the real meaning of life on.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: The bright side. Next comes our quick fire round, where
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: it's really anyone's game and your knowledge of money python
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: is meaningless.
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: Oh, thank god.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: Well, before we get to the quick fire around, we
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: need to talk about prizes. Yes, this episode star Prize
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: is the concept of absurdism with how insane the real
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: word seems to be around us. It's a wonderful it's
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: a wonderful release to watch something even more ridiculous and
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: poking fun out of it. Fun. Oh my god, that
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: was rough.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: You take it again, or I can leave all of this.
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: No, we'll leave it all.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: Fun at something my failure recorded.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: It's a fun out of something that's like super aggressive.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: I like how you were reading it with the face
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: of someone who was like, did I write this several
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: weeks ago?
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: Who wrote this?
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: That is my face? When our winning team will also
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: receive the actual Holy Grail. The good news is if
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: you drink from it, you'll live forever. The bad news
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: is you'll be living in this timeline forever.
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: Yikes, thank you, I'm good.
