- 1:09Speaker 1: It's a bootleg cap podcast special guests in here, David Sebastian.
- 1:12Speaker 1: What's good you're doing? He's a rapper, he's an artist,
- 1:16Speaker 1: he's an author. I mean, how many hats are you wearing? Yeah,
- 1:22Speaker 1: clothing line, I'm wearing them all at the moment. Literal art,
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'd say definitely a musician, Uh, designer, author, activist, philanthropist.
- 1:40Speaker 1: That's a big word for saying, you know, you help
- 1:42Speaker 1: out the community in some way everything. Man, I'm about
- 1:46Speaker 1: to drop a cookbook, a raw vegan cookbook, you know,
- 1:49Speaker 1: so I guess I'm a chef now too, you feel
- 1:51Speaker 1: so explain the raw part because some people say they're vegan.
- 1:54Speaker 1: But when I just talked to you about it, you
- 1:56Speaker 1: were like, no, I eat everything raw now, so what
- 1:57Speaker 1: does that mean? It's just electric foods. You know, like
- 2:00Speaker 1: a lot of times when you cook your food over
- 2:02Speaker 1: certain temperature, you cook out all the nutrients. So it's
- 2:07Speaker 1: something that's kind of new for me. But I like
- 2:10Speaker 1: it because you know your whole life, you learn how
- 2:13Speaker 1: to cook a certain way right, and then when you
- 2:15Speaker 1: can't do that anymore, it forces your mind to create
- 2:18Speaker 1: new ways to do it. And then the cookbook thing
- 2:21Speaker 1: was just like a lot of my niggas who like
- 2:24Speaker 1: in the hood, don't know how to cook, don't yo
- 2:27Speaker 1: raws to expend like an easy applicable way to make
- 2:31Speaker 1: raw dishes that look good, that taste good, that make
- 2:34Speaker 1: you feel good for like under ten dollars. You know,
- 2:37Speaker 1: so is raw. Like essentially, you go to the store,
- 2:40Speaker 1: you buy vegetables and then you just eat them that way. Yes,
- 2:44Speaker 1: but you don't. You don't just take some colar grains
- 2:46Speaker 1: and just eat them, right, So like a vegan dish
- 2:48Speaker 1: would be, I mean, a raw dish would be like
- 2:50Speaker 1: you get a collar green, right, and then you get
- 2:53Speaker 1: some hummus, put some hummus in it, you chop up
- 2:56Speaker 1: some onions, you put a little deal on it, you
- 2:58Speaker 1: cut up some garlic, you add some you know, it's
- 3:03Speaker 1: just playing with flavors. So then you roll that up.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I like, make this like raw sushi. I roll it
- 3:08Speaker 1: up and it just tastes incredible. Man, little sesame seeds
- 3:11Speaker 1: in it. As opposed to like cooking, opposed to cook food.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I've lost twelve pounds in about two weeks. Big, and
- 3:20Speaker 1: so this is something new you just started. I'm like
- 3:23Speaker 1: thirty days in. Do you know I'm going to my
- 3:25Speaker 1: birthday because I love I love meat. Paul's like, I
- 3:28Speaker 1: love I love I love me me too. Man. You
- 3:32Speaker 1: know that's why I can never I just I respect
- 3:34Speaker 1: people who say they're vegan. Yeah, because I couldn't. I
- 3:37Speaker 1: just can't even process. But it depends on how much
- 3:40Speaker 1: you value. So when I eat meat, and I'm like
- 3:43Speaker 1: just a fucking carnivore, I'm tired all the time. I'm
- 3:47Speaker 1: fucking sleeping in meetings, I can't move, you know what
- 3:50Speaker 1: I mean. I'm like in this constant state of like narcosis. Right.
- 3:53Speaker 1: So but I'm eating good right, but now I'm raw
- 3:57Speaker 1: And it doesn't really fuck with like eating some ribs,
- 4:00Speaker 1: some jerk chicken. But I stay up nineteen hours out
- 4:03Speaker 1: the day. I can run fucking as long as I
- 4:06Speaker 1: want to. You know, I just feel incredible, feel amazing.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Are you going so after your birthday you're gonna go
- 4:13Speaker 1: back to eating meat? No? On my birthday, I'm going
- 4:16Speaker 1: to eat a dish, a dish, A dish. What would
- 4:19Speaker 1: that dish? Be like some grade eight wagoo fucking you know,
- 4:23Speaker 1: just top maybe like thousand dollars fil a wagoo. The
- 4:28Speaker 1: wagoo's the one. Yeah, that's the wagon. That's a nice
- 4:32Speaker 1: way to treat yourself. Yeah, well listen you you came
- 4:35Speaker 1: up on our show what like March or April of
- 4:39Speaker 1: last year. Yeah, killed your freestyle. You put out some records.
- 4:47Speaker 1: You just put out a audio book called Imagination Time. Right,
- 4:53Speaker 1: For people who don't know what that means, explain to
- 4:56Speaker 1: me the first of all, the inspiration for this book
- 5:01Speaker 1: and what is what does it mean? So the inspiration
- 5:06Speaker 1: behind it was one of my good friends, Jermaine. He
- 5:10Speaker 1: sent me an audio book maybe six seven years ago
- 5:14Speaker 1: by a guy named Neville Godard who was a speaker,
- 5:17Speaker 1: a positive speaker in the forties and the fifties, and
- 5:21Speaker 1: it changed my life. It absolutely changed my life. And
- 5:25Speaker 1: it all centered around your imagination, essentially being God. Right.
- 5:30Speaker 1: So this thing, this entity that we call God, is
- 5:34Speaker 1: the human imagination. Right, Like, if you look around this room,
- 5:39Speaker 1: what's one thing in here that wasn't created by someone's imagination? Right?
- 5:43Speaker 1: That's fair. The artwork, the music in it, it's you know,
- 5:48Speaker 1: everything is essentially created by your imagination. So this audio
- 5:51Speaker 1: book taught you how to utilize your imagination to create
- 5:58Speaker 1: the desired reality you want. So I started listening, listening
- 6:01Speaker 1: to it and practicing it, and then I was like,
- 6:03Speaker 1: oh fuck, and this is a book that's old. It's old,
- 6:07Speaker 1: it's yeah, from the forties, it's some talking from forties, fifties,
- 6:11Speaker 1: it's on YouTube typing how to use your imagination. Okay,
- 6:14Speaker 1: it's brilliant. So I started using it and my life
- 6:17Speaker 1: started changing. Because before that, I did a lot of
- 6:20Speaker 1: busy work. I did a lot of like you know,
- 6:22Speaker 1: sometimes we do a lot of things to feel like
- 6:25Speaker 1: we're doing something. I was just always I'm doing this,
- 6:27Speaker 1: doing this, doing this. But once I learned the power
- 6:31Speaker 1: of my imagination, it's like you ever heard the expression,
- 6:34Speaker 1: like a big dick, don't got to move that much, right?
- 6:36Speaker 1: You know what I mean? You don't got to do
- 6:38Speaker 1: too much. You know, you can literally just think it
- 6:41Speaker 1: and create it into your reality. So long story short,
- 6:45Speaker 1: just looking at all these teachers and philosophical people, you
- 6:49Speaker 1: got esther Hicks, you got fucking all these people. They're
- 6:52Speaker 1: all like older, like white people, you know, they're all
- 6:57Speaker 1: like older white people, and there's no real representation in
- 7:01Speaker 1: the audio book Self Help Space, especially from someone who's
- 7:05Speaker 1: tattooed like me and as a rapper in Indy streets,
- 7:07Speaker 1: you know. So really it just happened like that, like, Yo,
- 7:12Speaker 1: I need to speak a language that my people understand
- 7:15Speaker 1: and then teach them the power of their imagination. So
- 7:17Speaker 1: that's how it started. Yeah, so like explain kind of
- 7:22Speaker 1: you said that during the pandemic you had kind of
- 7:24Speaker 1: started practicing Yeah, this, I guess, I guess imagination time. Yeah, right,
- 7:30Speaker 1: so kind of give people like a breakdown on like
- 7:33Speaker 1: what that entails and like so so when you wake
- 7:36Speaker 1: up and before you go to sleep, your your mind
- 7:39Speaker 1: enters something called rim sleep, right, and it's where you
- 7:43Speaker 1: don't really your subconscious doesn't know the difference between a
- 7:46Speaker 1: dream and reality, right, So that's the that's the best
- 7:50Speaker 1: time to impress upon thoughts in your mind that you
- 7:53Speaker 1: want to create, because your subconscious is going to materialize
- 7:57Speaker 1: them because they don't know if it's real or if
- 7:59Speaker 1: you're in a dream. So I would wake up and
- 8:02Speaker 1: at this time I was living at the Orsini. Do
- 8:05Speaker 1: you know where the or scene is? Is that downtown?
- 8:07Speaker 1: It's downtown. It's like these hood projects, you know, like
- 8:10Speaker 1: Niggas was getting robbed in. It's not like fucking the projects, right,
- 8:16Speaker 1: It's like some it's like where like if you're an
- 8:18Speaker 1: upscale drug dealer, you move to and you know, you
- 8:20Speaker 1: get some like luxury or whatever. But I was in
- 8:23Speaker 1: this one bedroom and I just finished living in my office,
- 8:27Speaker 1: which was an upgrade, and I wanted a penthouse. Man.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I wanted a penthouse, and I wanted a beautiful fucking girlfriend.
- 8:35Speaker 1: And I wanted my music to go somewhere, you know.
- 8:38Speaker 1: And I wanted a record deal, but I wanted the
- 8:40Speaker 1: right record deal. I wanted real equity, and I wanted
- 8:43Speaker 1: a couple other things that I just wanted. And I
- 8:46Speaker 1: started waking up and I would go. I would spend
- 8:50Speaker 1: I first started off at ten minutes, and I moved
- 8:52Speaker 1: to twenty minutes, and then now I do thirty minutes
- 8:54Speaker 1: a day. And what I would do is is I
- 8:57Speaker 1: would lay down and I would myself in a situation
- 9:03Speaker 1: in the future, given that I had all the things
- 9:06Speaker 1: that I wanted. So if I have the penthouse, right,
- 9:09Speaker 1: I'd envision me I close bys and I'd wake up
- 9:11Speaker 1: in my mind in that penthouse and I'd look outside
- 9:14Speaker 1: and I'd be like, it's fucking beautiful up here. And
- 9:17Speaker 1: you know, the girlfriend of my dreams would be laying
- 9:20Speaker 1: in the bed and she'd be like, you want me
- 9:21Speaker 1: to cook you some food? And I'm like, yeah, cook
- 9:22Speaker 1: me some food. And I'd walk around. I'd get phone
- 9:25Speaker 1: calls about, you know, with my lawyer talking like every
- 9:28Speaker 1: you know, you create just like a movie. When you
- 9:31Speaker 1: write a script, you're writing a script for your future life, right,
- 9:34Speaker 1: and then you live in that reality and then you
- 9:37Speaker 1: let it go. You would just wake up and go
- 9:39Speaker 1: about your day. You don't worry if it's gonna happen,
- 9:42Speaker 1: you don't worry why it's not happening. You don't even
- 9:45Speaker 1: worry about the current reality. You just let it go,
- 9:48Speaker 1: like you just watched the film and then crazy shit's
- 9:52Speaker 1: just gonna start happening to you. Man. I've seen it
- 9:54Speaker 1: happen to me. I've seen it happen to my friends.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I've seen it happen to my mom who practices it now.
- 9:59Speaker 1: And you know, one thing led to another. It's the pandemic.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I'm like, fuck, everybody's on their phones now. Something said
- 10:06Speaker 1: you'll drop your album I'm like, drop my album, but
- 10:08Speaker 1: how am I going to upload it to this and
- 10:10Speaker 1: I can't sell it on your website. I'm like, sell
- 10:13Speaker 1: it on my fucking website. Okay, fuck it. End up
- 10:16Speaker 1: making too much money and then end up leveraging that
- 10:20Speaker 1: into you know, a situation, a situation and the great situation,
- 10:25Speaker 1: and then I end up getting that fucking penthouse and
- 10:29Speaker 1: end up meeting this girl who I'm not with anymore,
- 10:31Speaker 1: but I think I met her last time. Yeah, she
- 10:33Speaker 1: was fine, she was beautiful human being. It's nice, Yeah,
- 10:36Speaker 1: very nice. She was fine and she was nice, But
- 10:40Speaker 1: that didn't work out because you know, you ever heard
- 10:44Speaker 1: the same be careful what you asked for? Definitely. You
- 10:47Speaker 1: know you you may think you want something, but you
- 10:50Speaker 1: have to be very very specific on what you want
- 10:53Speaker 1: because you might end up getting exactly what you say
- 10:55Speaker 1: you want. That's fair. Well, you also, this penthouse you
- 11:02Speaker 1: had was there was a very bad situation that happened
- 11:06Speaker 1: for people who don't know it wasn't at this pinho.
- 11:09Speaker 1: That pinhouse moved to another pinhouse, So where you moved
- 11:13Speaker 1: for people who don't know, there was in La there
- 11:16Speaker 1: was a hostage situation that everyone across the world saw
- 11:20Speaker 1: on online where they there was Was it your lady
- 11:25Speaker 1: that was being held hostage? She was my friend. Your
- 11:28Speaker 1: friend was being held hostage at your place by a guy,
- 11:32Speaker 1: a gunman, and the police, the swat team whatever it is,
- 11:36Speaker 1: blew blew the wall up or and then rescued her,
- 11:40Speaker 1: killed the dude, killed the guy in your living room.
- 11:43Speaker 1: You're not home at the time. You want to even
- 11:46Speaker 1: know something that's crazy as that was fucking crazy. It
- 11:49Speaker 1: was very because I was watching and then I saw
- 11:50Speaker 1: you post like that's my home and I was like, oh,
- 11:53Speaker 1: fuck the Then that's crazy as is. I threw a
- 11:55Speaker 1: little party the night before and a couple of people
- 11:59Speaker 1: stayed over and whatever. And my friend, her name is Haley,
- 12:02Speaker 1: the one who got held it gunpoint. Before I left
- 12:07Speaker 1: to go to a meeting, right, I said, don't let
- 12:10Speaker 1: no weird don't let no weird crazy niggas in my house.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I don't know why I said it. I just looked back.
- 12:15Speaker 1: I was like, don't let no weird crazy niggas in
- 12:16Speaker 1: my house. And she laughed just like I'm not and
- 12:18Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, cool. And then I leave and I
- 12:21Speaker 1: go to this meeting and then I'm like calling her,
- 12:24Speaker 1: trying to reach out to her, and she's not picking up,
- 12:26Speaker 1: and I'm like that's strange, Like why she's not picking up.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Maybe she's sleep right. And then we get back to
- 12:32Speaker 1: my house and the entire street is fucking blocked off.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Everything is blocked off from ear to fucking seventh Street
- 12:39Speaker 1: or whatever, and I'm like, what's going on? And people
- 12:42Speaker 1: are like, yo, it was a shooting. It was a shooting.
- 12:43Speaker 1: She was shooting. I'm like, oh shit, you know it's crazy.
- 12:46Speaker 1: They're like, the gunman ran into your building. Now I'm like,
- 12:48Speaker 1: oh fuck, he's in my building. Now, it's like crazy
- 12:52Speaker 1: calling her, she's still not picking up, and something in
- 12:55Speaker 1: my gut was like, oh fuck, I bet this niggas
- 12:58Speaker 1: in my house because crazy shit happens to me, like
- 13:03Speaker 1: this crazy movie. Weird shit just happens. And I'm like,
- 13:06Speaker 1: there's no reason why she wouldn't be picking up with
- 13:09Speaker 1: this this and I put you and two together. And
- 13:11Speaker 1: then someone who I was with, Uh, well, this someone
- 13:17Speaker 1: I was with was just like, I think someone's in
- 13:19Speaker 1: your house and I'm like, uh, oh fuck, someone is
- 13:23Speaker 1: in my house. So the guy had a bad day.
- 13:27Speaker 1: He went on a fucking shooting rampage, tried to steal
- 13:30Speaker 1: a car shot, someone pulled a trigger a to another
- 13:33Speaker 1: dude's head the gun one click, ended up running into
- 13:36Speaker 1: my building and uh, running into my house, and your
- 13:41Speaker 1: friend's okay, she's okay, I mean outside of the outside
- 13:45Speaker 1: of the trauma that this situation. But she's alive, you know,
- 13:48Speaker 1: which is amazing. But you know, anything could have happened.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And then when they broke in, you know, he grabbed
- 13:53Speaker 1: her to shield himself, and it could have went really bad.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I could have went really really bad. So when they
- 14:02Speaker 1: because there was like an explosion, right, So, yeah, they
- 14:04Speaker 1: put C four on all my doors. They they blew
- 14:07Speaker 1: up my crib. They like blew up my crib, my closet.
- 14:11Speaker 1: That ship is like horrible. So all the ship that
- 14:15Speaker 1: I manifested to end up getting blown up, which is
- 14:17Speaker 1: funny as shit, which is crazy. But personal belonging is fucked. Yeah,
- 14:22Speaker 1: but a lot of them, but none of it means anything.
- 14:25Speaker 1: It really doesn't. And I can honestly say that to
- 14:27Speaker 1: anybody probably watching this, like you know, you you work
- 14:30Speaker 1: your whole life to get new cars and watches and
- 14:33Speaker 1: clothes and cloths and shit. But they really don't mean anything.
- 14:37Speaker 1: I agree, man, people all the time. Are you used
- 14:41Speaker 1: to live there? He doll No, they owe me money too,
- 14:44Speaker 1: Santa fe owes me money. If you're a lawyer watching this,
- 14:47Speaker 1: I have a million dollar civil case ready to go
- 14:52Speaker 1: get at me, because seriously, they who owes you money?
- 14:55Speaker 1: The apartment building or the cops, all of them, Okay everybody. Yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 1: they kind of blew up your your insurance the building
- 15:06Speaker 1: because the dude shouldn't have been able to get into
- 15:09Speaker 1: the building. There was a security guard that wasn't on.
- 15:12Speaker 1: He was working that day, but he was always hollering
- 15:14Speaker 1: at women, like every time on Netflix or something. Yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: he was like that. Every time I see a guy
- 15:19Speaker 1: working security at a building. He's got his phone, like
- 15:22Speaker 1: underneath the desk, he's got his little Yeah. Yeah, he
- 15:25Speaker 1: ain't fucking tripping, So he should never been able to
- 15:27Speaker 1: get in that building, you know, let alone up to
- 15:29Speaker 1: the fourth floor. Oh the fourth floor. Yeah yeah, that's
- 15:33Speaker 1: a that's not like a yeah yeah yeah, Like so well,
- 15:38Speaker 1: at least that your friend's find yeah, you know, physically
- 15:41Speaker 1: she's still here. Yeah, somebody else was scared as fuck.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I wasn't scared. I said, she's coming out. And that's
- 15:46Speaker 1: how you utilize your imagination. You can heal yourself, you
- 15:50Speaker 1: can heal someone else. You can manipulate a situation simply
- 15:54Speaker 1: by seeing the outcome and then believing it. I guess
- 15:57Speaker 1: that's what people would call faith, mm hmm, manifestation, manifestation. Yeah.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Do you think would you kind of compare the imagination
- 16:08Speaker 1: time thing to like a form of meditation in a way?
- 16:10Speaker 1: Of course? Yeah? The focus is a practice. Yeah. I
- 16:15Speaker 1: saw that Jim Carrey had tapped in with the audio book,
- 16:18Speaker 1: said that one of his friends had shared it with him,
- 16:21Speaker 1: and then he tweeted about it, which is a big deal.
- 16:24Speaker 1: By the way, Jim Carrey's probably got one of the
- 16:25Speaker 1: more incredible imaginations ever. Yo. Did you hear him on
- 16:29Speaker 1: the Weekend's new album? Yeah, genius, The whole radio station
- 16:35Speaker 1: is genius. Yeah, the Weekend's album is dope. I fuck
- 16:37Speaker 1: with it, but not just that's got to be crazy, right,
- 16:40Speaker 1: like Jim Carrey tweeting about you, I'm blessed. I have
- 16:45Speaker 1: so much, Yo, I have something I can't even talk
- 16:47Speaker 1: about that's gonna happen with Jim Carrey that it'll probably
- 16:51Speaker 1: surface in a couple weeks something collaborative, collaborative music. I
- 16:59Speaker 1: don't know, that's fair, that's big. Have you met Jim Carrey, Yeah,
- 17:05Speaker 1: cool dude, psychedelic electric. He seems like I know he
- 17:10Speaker 1: does already painted stuff like it seems like a very
- 17:13Speaker 1: uh yeah, he was. He's always been my favorite actor.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I love The Truman Show, I love Man on the Moon.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Everything that he's done has been just remarkable. But I
- 17:25Speaker 1: got a lot of ship up my sleeve this year.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I'm fucking swinging for the fences. Man on all good
- 17:31Speaker 1: will collaboration, easy skied roll collaboration, You're gonna you're collaborating
- 17:37Speaker 1: with yeasy on skid Row. I don't know. I just coughed.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on. But a lot, a
- 17:43Speaker 1: lot of a lot of transitions, a lot of new
- 17:45Speaker 1: things are happening. I'm dropping eight projects this year. Eight yeah. Now,
- 17:50Speaker 1: when you say projects, music music projects, so yeah, eight
- 17:53Speaker 1: bodies of work in some capacity this year. Valentine's Day Times,
- 17:57Speaker 1: I made girls cry in December, dropping AI Artificial Ignorance.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Throughout the summer, I'm dropping mix tapes in Texas, New Orleans, Canada, Chicago,
- 18:07Speaker 1: something to go to these regions and work with Manny
- 18:10Speaker 1: Fresh and New you know, I mean, different producers, rereleasing
- 18:13Speaker 1: We Are God, There Will Be Blood, which will be
- 18:17Speaker 1: a Christmas album that I do on skid Row, using
- 18:20Speaker 1: people from the community to make like the craziest Christmas
- 18:22Speaker 1: album ever. Wow. You know it's you know, it's interesting
- 18:26Speaker 1: because like you have, like like you said, you're you
- 18:29Speaker 1: give back a lot, but you also shine a light
- 18:31Speaker 1: on skid Row and just kind of the homeless population
- 18:33Speaker 1: in general in La. Yeah, And I feel like during
- 18:36Speaker 1: the pandemic, I guess homelessness obviously was on a rise,
- 18:41Speaker 1: but it also kind of became like the national narrative
- 18:45Speaker 1: about LA's going to shit because the homeless man, there's
- 18:48Speaker 1: people sleeping everywhere. It's like, you know, the city can
- 18:51Speaker 1: fix this. Watch. I was gonna ask you kind of
- 18:53Speaker 1: your take on that, because you're you know, you're probably
- 18:55Speaker 1: so just like death right, death is a trillion dollar
- 18:59Speaker 1: business death, so is a fitness so is homelessness. If
- 19:08Speaker 1: there was no homelessness, then there wouldn't be these foundations
- 19:11Speaker 1: to help homelessness, which everyone's got salaries where everyone's got
- 19:15Speaker 1: these over fluff salaries and it's like a business. You know,
- 19:19Speaker 1: you got to feed this and the tax write offs
- 19:21Speaker 1: and all this shit, you know, so they kind of
- 19:23Speaker 1: needed to exist. And mind you, there are some people
- 19:29Speaker 1: that live in on skid row who want to live
- 19:31Speaker 1: on skid row, like you know, not everyone wants to
- 19:34Speaker 1: live in a house. There's a story of this woman
- 19:36Speaker 1: who we got housing for, moved into her house and
- 19:40Speaker 1: then set up her tent in her living room, through
- 19:43Speaker 1: away all the furniture in the house and set up
- 19:46Speaker 1: her tent in the middle of her living room. Jesus
- 19:48Speaker 1: shout out to her. Dedicated. It's dedicated. But so my
- 19:54Speaker 1: goal isn't to necessarily eradicate skid row for everyone, because
- 19:59Speaker 1: I feel like there are people who are simply who
- 20:01Speaker 1: simply want to be liberated from society, who don't want
- 20:05Speaker 1: any fiduciary responsibility. But the people who do want to
- 20:11Speaker 1: get out of it. Like I've been doing imagination time
- 20:13Speaker 1: on skid row, going up to certain people and getting
- 20:15Speaker 1: them to see what they imagine, and ten out of
- 20:18Speaker 1: ten of them are just imagining a nice place to sleep.
- 20:21Speaker 1: They're like, man, I just want to live in a
- 20:23Speaker 1: living room with a nice couch into this and some
- 20:25Speaker 1: pajamas they just want somewhere to sleep and an opportunity.
- 20:29Speaker 1: There's thousands and thousands and thousands of square foots square
- 20:33Speaker 1: footage and factories downtown that are vacant that I'm going
- 20:38Speaker 1: to buy. I'm going to buy. I'm going to turn
- 20:40Speaker 1: it into housing. I'm also going to branch it off
- 20:43Speaker 1: into my skid Row manufacturing. There should be skin Row
- 20:47Speaker 1: trash clean up. We're going to start a community garden.
- 20:50Speaker 1: There's you know, skid Row potato chips because you can
- 20:53Speaker 1: grow potatoes up. And I have this whole plan of
- 20:56Speaker 1: you know, getting a potato factory. They're making skid Row
- 20:58Speaker 1: potato chips. Like I'm just I'm just figuring it out.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Did you notice skid Row getting becoming a more like
- 21:07Speaker 1: or Downtown just in general becoming a more wild place
- 21:09Speaker 1: the last two years. Yeah, I know it was always
- 21:13Speaker 1: It's always was wild in pockets, but it felt like
- 21:15Speaker 1: it's getting crazy. Man. It's feeling like Gotham City right now.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Every time I go downtown, it's like it's like I'm like,
- 21:23Speaker 1: every time I go, it's like, damn, sh it's getting crazy.
- 21:25Speaker 1: And then I'll go two months later it's like fuck,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I'll go a week later. But the crazy thing is
- 21:29Speaker 1: is on skid Row. It's not crazy, man. I feel
- 21:32Speaker 1: safer on skid Row than on Melrose, right Melrose, Yeah,
- 21:37Speaker 1: damn Melroses. It's hot for sure. Melros then used to
- 21:40Speaker 1: be like that, Yeah, of course, yeah, you know, but
- 21:43Speaker 1: like skid Row is really a community of fucking people.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Like it's really like Grandmama's, grand uncles, cousins, it's like
- 21:50Speaker 1: a it's a community. Yeah, there's some junkies, Yeah, there's
- 21:53Speaker 1: some this, but it's really good people. Man. Yeah. Do
- 21:56Speaker 1: you do you cause with your interaction with people on schedule,
- 22:01Speaker 1: because I always feel like with the homeless thing, there's there's,
- 22:04Speaker 1: like you said, there's people who are there because they
- 22:07Speaker 1: don't have a choice, so they want to get out
- 22:09Speaker 1: of it, they want to get into a better place.
- 22:12Speaker 1: And then there are a fraction of the people who
- 22:13Speaker 1: have drug problems, who have mental problems, who you know,
- 22:18Speaker 1: not even talk about people who just want to be
- 22:19Speaker 1: liberated from society, but people who just are in a
- 22:23Speaker 1: position where they might have addiction that they're dealing with.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Do you feel like, like, what do you think is
- 22:31Speaker 1: the solution for those people? Psychedelics just give everyone some
- 22:36Speaker 1: shrooms to mayahuasca, not just give it to them and
- 22:40Speaker 1: say here, take this. But you know, something that I
- 22:43Speaker 1: want to create is I want to I want to
- 22:45Speaker 1: create an environment where people going through addiction and trauma
- 22:50Speaker 1: can be inducted into a program where their diet is
- 22:54Speaker 1: all raw fruits, raw vegetables, and they micro dose shrown
- 23:00Speaker 1: and d MT and ayahuasca and they go on and
- 23:05Speaker 1: inward journey into psyche. And I believe that you can
- 23:08Speaker 1: help cure a lot a lot. Yeah. I think ayahuasca
- 23:13Speaker 1: is like the one thing that like, I know people
- 23:15Speaker 1: who have had lifelong addiction, They've had vices that they
- 23:20Speaker 1: could never shake, They've had suppressed mental stuff that they
- 23:25Speaker 1: never even knew was the reason why they were a
- 23:27Speaker 1: certain way. Because it forces you to, like, have you
- 23:30Speaker 1: done ayahuaska? Yeah? Yeah? And when i've for me everyone's experiences,
- 23:36Speaker 1: did you do it with a yeah? Yeah. I'm a shaman,
- 23:43Speaker 1: are you? Yeah? Well okay, but uh you're an ayahuasca shaman.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I'm just a shaman in general in life. I respect that, Okay,
- 23:55Speaker 1: But these drugs or not, this medicine, I don't even
- 24:02Speaker 1: want to call it a drug, but it helps you
- 24:06Speaker 1: look at yourself, this character that you created for yourself
- 24:10Speaker 1: and for me. I looked at all the things that
- 24:13Speaker 1: made me me, and I don't know, man, it's just
- 24:20Speaker 1: when I took DMT for the first time, I seen
- 24:22Speaker 1: these little elves, these mechanical elves, they were just like
- 24:24Speaker 1: laughing at me. I was like in this whole like
- 24:27Speaker 1: mechanical realm, and they were just like laughing. And it
- 24:31Speaker 1: made me feel like in this other dimension somewhere, there's
- 24:36Speaker 1: people there just laughing at us because we're just fucking yeah,
- 24:40Speaker 1: we're just so trivial. We're like working our whole lives
- 24:43Speaker 1: at jobs. We fucking hate to buy shit we don't
- 24:45Speaker 1: need and do yeah, and just like in fear and shit,
- 24:50Speaker 1: and they're just like hahha, Like you know, like life
- 24:52Speaker 1: is so fucking simple. It really is, man. And you know,
- 24:56Speaker 1: I wear nice shit, not because I feel like it
- 25:00Speaker 1: brings my value up or to get girls or to
- 25:03Speaker 1: look cool, but I genuinely I love I'm a fan
- 25:08Speaker 1: of aesthetics, you know, I love nice ship, but it
- 25:11Speaker 1: doesn't define me. Man, I get I'll give give shit away.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck, you know, yeah, what for
- 25:17Speaker 1: when you did ayahuasca how did that, like, what was
- 25:20Speaker 1: that experience like for you? Because you know, sometimes people puke,
- 25:22Speaker 1: they ship, they're fucking I mean it's for people who
- 25:25Speaker 1: don't know, it's like a process. It's not like you
- 25:28Speaker 1: just you get the shivers, you get the shakes. I mean,
- 25:30Speaker 1: it's like it's like detoxing. It's like when you're going
- 25:33Speaker 1: through a what do you call it, a hero withdrawals
- 25:37Speaker 1: and ship. You know, I've heard people say that, like
- 25:43Speaker 1: there's like a voice you hear or I mean you
- 25:46Speaker 1: go into the astroplane, you're floating in nothingness, You're going
- 25:49Speaker 1: through a black hole. I mean me, I don't know
- 25:51Speaker 1: what anyone else is going, but your time stops. It
- 25:56Speaker 1: just there is no time, there is no nothing. You're
- 25:59Speaker 1: like one with everything. That's crazy. And you know, obviously
- 26:04Speaker 1: for people who don't know, it's like something you drink,
- 26:06Speaker 1: you know, I don't think. I think people for the
- 26:08Speaker 1: most part, probably know about trooms. They probably know about DMC.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I think ayahuasca is the one thing that's like not
- 26:12Speaker 1: as easily as accessible. I think it might be pretty
- 26:16Speaker 1: in the future. I think it's gonna be something more
- 26:18Speaker 1: people tap into. But can you imagine that creating some
- 26:21Speaker 1: type of process on skied ule where people are introduced
- 26:24Speaker 1: to these Yeah, because I do think that that is
- 26:26Speaker 1: a way that people can really kick real addiction. Yeah.
- 26:29Speaker 1: You know, it's like addiction is like, especially to certain shit,
- 26:33Speaker 1: is like physically hard just to just to do. Because
- 26:38Speaker 1: you know, if I quit doing this, then I got
- 26:41Speaker 1: a week of the worst pain of my life coming
- 26:44Speaker 1: my way. So I'm just gonna keep doing it. And
- 26:46Speaker 1: there's no likes, you know, I think that that's probably
- 26:52Speaker 1: one of the bigger reasons why like people end up homeless.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Like it is what it is like, you know, being
- 26:57Speaker 1: a drug addicts a full time job. They say it
- 27:00Speaker 1: added to anything is a full time job. Yeah, you
- 27:02Speaker 1: treat it like it's like your job every day to
- 27:04Speaker 1: get high or whatever whatever that thing is. Yeah, I yeah,
- 27:11Speaker 1: I agree. Yeah. So so you know, I wanted to
- 27:15Speaker 1: ask you, man, because like I feel like here in
- 27:17Speaker 1: LA you're like one of the dopest minds we have.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I feel like you your music is incredible, I feel
- 27:25Speaker 1: like everything you do is dope. But like, for whatever reason,
- 27:29Speaker 1: I feel like you're still somehow underappreciated in the hip
- 27:31Speaker 1: hop community. When we think of LA, I just made
- 27:35Speaker 1: you say this. I was thinking about this and you
- 27:37Speaker 1: just said it. It's interesting, that's crazy. Why do you
- 27:41Speaker 1: think that is? And do you give a fuck? I
- 27:44Speaker 1: don't give a fuck, but why do I think it is? Huh?
- 27:52Speaker 1: So music is on a frequency, right, just like the
- 27:59Speaker 1: radio station. Right. Life is all about frequencies, right. You know,
- 28:03Speaker 1: when you you can't get you can't get things up.
- 28:07Speaker 1: You can't get things that you get when you vibrate
- 28:09Speaker 1: up here if you're vibrating down here. Right. So music
- 28:13Speaker 1: as a general, as a whole, it is kind of
- 28:15Speaker 1: vibrating at this frequency right here, right. And in order
- 28:19Speaker 1: for it to stay at this frequency, only artists and
- 28:23Speaker 1: music and thought processes that allow that frequency to thrive
- 28:30Speaker 1: it so it stays here. When it's here, it's safe.
- 28:33Speaker 1: It's a lot of money to be made, right, It's
- 28:35Speaker 1: a lot of my I mean, I could get really
- 28:38Speaker 1: deep with you, but you know, music is religion. Music
- 28:44Speaker 1: is religion. It's like when you go to a concert,
- 28:46Speaker 1: it's like going to church. You know, our bodies are
- 28:50Speaker 1: ninety percent water. Music vibration sounds, especially ato weights, which
- 28:56Speaker 1: resonate with our lower chakras. It can control as it
- 29:00Speaker 1: can manipulate us. It can influence us. So right now
- 29:03Speaker 1: music is like right here, and our people are being controlled,
- 29:09Speaker 1: influenced and manipulated at this frequency. Now, this guy named
- 29:14Speaker 1: David Sebastian, this entity right here, he's vibrating up here.
- 29:22Speaker 1: And the second that that vibration becomes popular, it's going
- 29:27Speaker 1: to force everyone down here to rise. And now the
- 29:32Speaker 1: subject matters are going to change, and now the what
- 29:34Speaker 1: we deem is important isn't going to be. And now
- 29:37Speaker 1: you're going to have a group of people self actualizing
- 29:43Speaker 1: and asking themselves questions and saying, why do I need
- 29:46Speaker 1: to buy that? Or why am I that? Or I
- 29:48Speaker 1: don't want to fucking go to the club today. It's
- 29:50Speaker 1: like a whole new paradigm shift. And when that paradigm
- 29:54Speaker 1: shift exists, a lot of the shit down here just
- 29:58Speaker 1: will become irrelevant. It's kind of like, remember joh Rule
- 30:01Speaker 1: was like the biggest shit on planet Earth, and then
- 30:04Speaker 1: fifty cent came out and then then he wasn't and
- 30:07Speaker 1: then he just wasn't. Yeah, because fifty created a new paradigm.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Kanye shifted the paradigm and he kind of shifted it
- 30:14Speaker 1: away from fifty exactly, shifted away from fifty. So every
- 30:18Speaker 1: now and then you have these paradigm shifters. It was
- 30:21Speaker 1: very hard. I was talking to Dame about this, very
- 30:24Speaker 1: very hard for dam Yeah, dam Dash. I was talking
- 30:27Speaker 1: to Dame, and it was hard for jay Z to
- 30:30Speaker 1: get anywhere. No label would sign them, nobody wanted them.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Da da da da Right. Same with Kanye. We hear
- 30:35Speaker 1: about his struggles. Sometimes when you have a new perspective
- 30:41Speaker 1: and you're in and and and it's and it's and
- 30:44Speaker 1: it's more futuristic than anyone can currently see, it's always
- 30:48Speaker 1: going to be a tumultuous thing to get to where
- 30:50Speaker 1: you need to be. Yeah, it's like the it's the
- 30:53Speaker 1: harder journey, but it's the more fruitful journey once you
- 30:55Speaker 1: get there. It's like like you could dumb your shit down,
- 30:59Speaker 1: or you could do whateveryone else is doing, and you
- 31:00Speaker 1: could play industry games and worry about all that shit.
- 31:04Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, like I could
- 31:06Speaker 1: start a TikTok, I could do a cool dance, I
- 31:08Speaker 1: could do all that. But you know what what I'm
- 31:09Speaker 1: doing right now, what I'm building right now is I'm
- 31:12Speaker 1: building a legacy. It's this legacy, my right I had
- 31:16Speaker 1: a waitress come up to me who I didn't even know,
- 31:18Speaker 1: and she was like, my son loves you. He's like
- 31:22Speaker 1: seven years old. I play him all of your music.
- 31:25Speaker 1: I show him all of your art. My entire family's
- 31:27Speaker 1: rooting for you. We want you to like someone swear
- 31:30Speaker 1: to God. Like yesterday someone hit me. It was like, David,
- 31:33Speaker 1: I've been following you from the jump since pussing marijuana,
- 31:35Speaker 1: and I somehow got out of contact with you and
- 31:38Speaker 1: found your Instagram and you were at seventy thousand followers,
- 31:41Speaker 1: and I got really mad and I was like, I
- 31:43Speaker 1: got She was like, I got really fucking mad, and
- 31:45Speaker 1: she was like, because like the output you put out
- 31:48Speaker 1: and the level of work and consistency and blah blah blah,
- 31:51Speaker 1: like you should have a million plus fucking twenty million followers.
- 31:55Speaker 1: And then then she was like, I realized how this
- 31:58Speaker 1: system is. Man. So I'm not mad because I know
- 32:02Speaker 1: what's going to happen this year. Some major, major things
- 32:07Speaker 1: are about to change with me being at the forefront
- 32:10Speaker 1: of culture and yeah, so it's just a matter of time. Yeah.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I think like too, Like I feel like you are
- 32:18Speaker 1: building your own ecosystem, your own world. Almost as to
- 32:22Speaker 1: where like most artists who come into this game, they're
- 32:25Speaker 1: very much dependent on, you know, going to Grammy parties
- 32:29Speaker 1: and networking and you know, just doing whatever they got
- 32:33Speaker 1: to do just to kind of but I feel like
- 32:35Speaker 1: you're kind of over here building your island, and eventually,
- 32:39Speaker 1: you know, people are gonna come to your island, and
- 32:41Speaker 1: then hopefully the music industry starts to look a lot
- 32:44Speaker 1: more like your island. So just I want to paint
- 32:46Speaker 1: a quick picture for you. Imagine if David Sebastian number
- 32:54Speaker 1: one record on the on the billboard, right, which means
- 32:57Speaker 1: that there's a lot of eyes on what I'm doing. Right,
- 33:00Speaker 1: Imagine I have a skid Row drop this Friday, right
- 33:04Speaker 1: with millions of eyes on me. Yo, we're dropping this
- 33:07Speaker 1: skid Row collaboration. And then that drop makes two million dollars.
- 33:12Speaker 1: And then I take all of that two million dollars
- 33:15Speaker 1: and I put that into building my factories out and
- 33:18Speaker 1: employing the homeless. And then I drop imagination Time, and
- 33:22Speaker 1: instead of twenty thirty thousand people hearing it, now it's
- 33:25Speaker 1: millions of people hearing it. And now you have millions
- 33:27Speaker 1: of people have an imagination time every morning and every
- 33:30Speaker 1: night and while that's happening, like it's it's going to
- 33:33Speaker 1: be a phenomena. Yeah, hey listen, I don't doubt it, man,
- 33:38Speaker 1: I look forward to looking back at this interview. Oh
- 33:42Speaker 1: this is these these are the interviews. Like like I
- 33:45Speaker 1: hate to say nip because I'm not like putting this
- 33:47Speaker 1: with death or anything, of course, of course, but like
- 33:50Speaker 1: but no, we go back and we watch old Nipsey.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Yeah you watch I remember when he died. I went
- 33:53Speaker 1: back and watched old Nipsey interviews that I've never seen before,
- 33:56Speaker 1: and I was like, damn this thing. He was a
- 33:58Speaker 1: talking that shit. He was talking that shit. That's facts, man,
- 34:01Speaker 1: that's facts. Like I think Nipsey like was, for whatever reason,
- 34:05Speaker 1: like ahead of his time. But also like you know,
- 34:09Speaker 1: I wish he was here to see the love that
- 34:13Speaker 1: he's got now because like I've you know, I've been
- 34:15Speaker 1: knowing Nipsey since split oh nine is when I first
- 34:17Speaker 1: met him. Yeah, he was on my show in two
- 34:20Speaker 1: thousand and nine, and like you know, he was always
- 34:23Speaker 1: like a like one of our guys, Like you know,
- 34:26Speaker 1: I'm a fucking hip hop head, so like always was
- 34:28Speaker 1: rooting for Nipsey, but like just to see like the
- 34:30Speaker 1: love and like he's become an icon, you know what
- 34:31Speaker 1: I'm saying. Nicon downtown there's a thousand Nipsey murals everywhere.
- 34:35Speaker 1: You know. There's a saying that great men plant seeds
- 34:40Speaker 1: for trees for shade, for great men plant seeds for trees,
- 34:46Speaker 1: that they won't be able to sit under its shade
- 34:48Speaker 1: or something to that. Yeah, that makes sense, you know,
- 34:50Speaker 1: Like it sucks because I mean in the physical for
- 34:54Speaker 1: him to see the amount of reverence, you know, and
- 34:58Speaker 1: and I know I'm going I'm going to see it
- 35:00Speaker 1: in this lifetime. I came here for a reason, for
- 35:04Speaker 1: a purpose, and I think we need liberation more than anything.
- 35:08Speaker 1: The world needs to be liberated. Culture needs to be liberated.
- 35:12Speaker 1: We've been in the box for too long. And I
- 35:14Speaker 1: think COVID has has made a lot of people take
- 35:17Speaker 1: inward journeys in you know, I think I think COVID,
- 35:21Speaker 1: aside from the obvious deaths that have come of course,
- 35:24Speaker 1: of course, but I think it was a blessing for
- 35:26Speaker 1: a lot of people as well. Yes, because it forced
- 35:28Speaker 1: you to sit by yourself. I have a song called
- 35:31Speaker 1: Running with the Wolves, where I ask a girl, when
- 35:33Speaker 1: was the last time you were truly happy when you
- 35:35Speaker 1: all by yourself and you weren't at a party like
- 35:39Speaker 1: we numb ourselves with the viper lea experience going to
- 35:43Speaker 1: the club, going to the bar, dopamine fucking drives and shit,
- 35:47Speaker 1: what if you're alone at home? Yeah, for a year,
- 35:50Speaker 1: it's six months or whatever it is. Yeah, man, it's
- 35:53Speaker 1: fucked because, like everyone I know is depressed right now,
- 35:56Speaker 1: a lot of I mean that is the one thing
- 35:58Speaker 1: about COVID. Like my kid who's in high school, he
- 36:01Speaker 1: was like we had to put him in counting and
- 36:03Speaker 1: stuff because like he was just going through it with
- 36:07Speaker 1: his girlfriend and she was his mom and like, but
- 36:11Speaker 1: it was like he couldn't leave his house. He didn't
- 36:13Speaker 1: have interaction with his friends. He was sitting in front
- 36:16Speaker 1: of a computer every day for fucking six hours. You know,
- 36:19Speaker 1: it's different everyone I sit in front of Lately, I've
- 36:21Speaker 1: been having lunches and everyone just like breaks down mid conversation,
- 36:25Speaker 1: and you know, I try to do my best to
- 36:30Speaker 1: help or try to inspire as much as I can.
- 36:32Speaker 1: But I honestly think it's a good thing. I think
- 36:35Speaker 1: it's a good thing. You know, you got to go
- 36:37Speaker 1: through it at some point self. Reflection, and you know
- 36:39Speaker 1: when you come out of it, you come out of
- 36:41Speaker 1: as stronger. But we are in a very serious place
- 36:44Speaker 1: in the world. Did did you end up catching COVID? Ever, No, no,
- 36:49Speaker 1: shout out to you. You know it's funny and this
- 36:53Speaker 1: might sound like some weird superhuman weirdness. Never caught COVID.
- 36:57Speaker 1: But I was in Atlanta and I was shooting a
- 36:59Speaker 1: rady interview and this is when COVID was going around.
- 37:02Speaker 1: And I woke up and I couldn't breathe. I had
- 37:05Speaker 1: the shakes, hot, cold sweat, like for sure it I
- 37:09Speaker 1: have COVID. I went in the bath, I turned on
- 37:13Speaker 1: hot water, and I had imagination time, and I imagined
- 37:17Speaker 1: you didn't have it. The sickness just coming out of
- 37:20Speaker 1: my pores and into the water, and literally an hour later,
- 37:25Speaker 1: I was perfectly fine. Did the interview, no cough, no
- 37:28Speaker 1: nothing interest. I was just fucking great imagination time. For
- 37:31Speaker 1: people who don't know, they can get the audio book,
- 37:36Speaker 1: but they it's super simple. They could just if you
- 37:38Speaker 1: got Zell cash, app Venmo, Apple Pay. So hopefully by
- 37:42Speaker 1: the time this this airs, it'll be on Audible and
- 37:45Speaker 1: it'll be on Amazon. Right but right now, go to
- 37:53Speaker 1: You could text me right yo, it's crazy. When I
- 37:55Speaker 1: dropped Weird God, I did the same method, text me,
- 37:58Speaker 1: send me the cash app and literally imagination time. I
- 38:01Speaker 1: have thousands of text messages in my phone right now.
- 38:04Speaker 1: You have a separate phone. No, this is my line? Wow?
- 38:09Speaker 1: Is your Is your number up on your Yeah? Yeah
- 38:12Speaker 1: it's nine one seven five three five eight five seven seven.
- 38:16Speaker 1: So if you hear this and you want it, you
- 38:18Speaker 1: could just text me, like, y'all want to audio? And
- 38:19Speaker 1: it's like seven chapters or six seven seven chapters. Yeah,
- 38:25Speaker 1: it's an easy listen right, very easily. It's me composing
- 38:28Speaker 1: the whole thing, playing the piano. It's kind of an experience,
- 38:31Speaker 1: like if you're gonna check it out, you should probably
- 38:34Speaker 1: be relaxed. In April, I'm dropping another audio book and
- 38:38Speaker 1: it's called Believing Yourself, And it's more of a episodic
- 38:42Speaker 1: of how I got to this point, from dropping out
- 38:45Speaker 1: of high school to becoming a freelance designer, to traveling
- 38:49Speaker 1: with Steve Aoki and designing his brand of this, and
- 38:52Speaker 1: to working with Drake on his planes and this and that,
- 38:54Speaker 1: and just to how I got to this point. It's
- 38:57Speaker 1: called Believing yourself. So we're going to get to some
- 38:59Speaker 1: of that, but I gotta take a piss so quick
- 39:01Speaker 1: intermission and then we'll be right back. Yo. Stop at
- 39:04Speaker 1: the interview. Got to tell you about our good folks
- 39:06Speaker 1: at odd socks. Man. Listen, Go to odd socksofficial dot com.

- 39:48Speaker 1: all that PSD shit, All that shit is all listen man,
- 39:52Speaker 1: put them odd socks on your ass cheeks and thank
- 39:54Speaker 1: me later. Yeah. I didn't even see that you had
- 39:56Speaker 1: posted this Kanye thing. Yeah so you posted this yesterday, right,
- 40:01Speaker 1: So you and Kanye this there's like an official collaboration
- 40:04Speaker 1: between Yeezy and skid Row. It's not official. So he
- 40:07Speaker 1: posted but there's some things in the works. How did
- 40:10Speaker 1: he reach out to you or how did that happen?
- 40:15Speaker 1: I can't even really talk about that right now for real.
- 40:18Speaker 1: I promise you when I can, I'm gonna come back here.
- 40:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you the whole school. Okay, okay, okay,
- 40:23Speaker 1: Yeah that's I mean, you put it out there. Yeah,
- 40:26Speaker 1: but it was a question mark. It was like, is
- 40:28Speaker 1: this is what's happening here? You know? Talk to me.
- 40:33Speaker 1: How you ended up working on the Drake plaining ship.
- 40:38Speaker 1: A good friend of mine, Matt Babel, who manages Drake,
- 40:42Speaker 1: back when I was having some tough times and I
- 40:45Speaker 1: need some money, he hired me to do freelance design
- 40:48Speaker 1: work for Ovo and for Dream Crew and their whole shit.
- 40:53Speaker 1: And I just used to just design shirts, merch whatever
- 40:56Speaker 1: whatever they needed, and uh, he put that on my
- 40:59Speaker 1: dead was like Drake just as a plane you have
- 41:01Speaker 1: any ideas. And I had a shoe called air David,
- 41:06Speaker 1: you know, and I was just like, ifd be tight,
- 41:09Speaker 1: Like if I had a plane and called my shit
- 41:11Speaker 1: air David, and I was like, fuck, I'm probably gonna
- 41:14Speaker 1: have a jed anytime soon. I was. I just kind
- 41:16Speaker 1: of gave the idea air Drake, you know, just and
- 41:18Speaker 1: then you know he has a Nike thing. So it's
- 41:20Speaker 1: like instead of just do it, I did it, you know.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Like so I just kind of slid that conceptually when
- 41:28Speaker 1: it comes to like design, I feel like there's a
- 41:31Speaker 1: few underappreciated people when it comes to our industry, cameraman, photographers,
- 41:38Speaker 1: and graphic designers being like at the top of the
- 41:40Speaker 1: list for sure. I feel like most graphic designers always
- 41:42Speaker 1: get underpaid or people expect them to do something for free,
- 41:45Speaker 1: or they'll put a whole lot of work in on
- 41:47Speaker 1: a design, they'll submit it and then if the artists
- 41:49Speaker 1: don't like it, they might never even hear hear from them. Again,
- 41:53Speaker 1: it depends on how you build. I mean, I was
- 41:55Speaker 1: that for a couple of years, but now I get paid.
- 41:58Speaker 1: I started off in this game, I got one hundred
- 42:01Speaker 1: dollars per design. Then after teenage millionaire, I went up
- 42:04Speaker 1: to three hundred design, and then I started working with
- 42:07Speaker 1: Steve Aoki and doing Diesel and Ruka, and then I
- 42:10Speaker 1: went up to five hundred design, and then I started
- 42:13Speaker 1: working with von Dutch and pack Son and blah blah blah,
- 42:15Speaker 1: and I went up to like nine hundred design and
- 42:17Speaker 1: then blah blah blah. Now I won't touch it if
- 42:20Speaker 1: I'm not getting you know, fifteen to two thousand a
- 42:23Speaker 1: design and some type of equity and the piece. And
- 42:26Speaker 1: it's like I was gonna say, like, do you have
- 42:28Speaker 1: any advice for people who do graphics who are trying
- 42:31Speaker 1: to figure out how to differentiate or and stop doing
- 42:33Speaker 1: graphics and do graphics for yourself. Just make your own shit,
- 42:37Speaker 1: make your own shit, and then make people respect you,
- 42:40Speaker 1: and then then charge them then you can set your price.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Because if you're a graphic design, like you said, like
- 42:47Speaker 1: they really treat you like the underbelly of shit when
- 42:50Speaker 1: it's your ideas and designs that are creating these fucking brands.
- 42:54Speaker 1: So you know, create something for yourself, build a business
- 42:58Speaker 1: around it, make something out of it, and then people
- 43:01Speaker 1: will start coming to you like can you do this,
- 43:03Speaker 1: then you can set your own price on the clothing shit,
- 43:06Speaker 1: Like was what were some of the trial and error
- 43:08Speaker 1: things you had to kind of get through to like really,
- 43:11Speaker 1: because you know, clothing is a very it's a tough
- 43:14Speaker 1: business to be in. There's a lot of overhead depending
- 43:16Speaker 1: on how you do it. You know, there's certain people
- 43:18Speaker 1: who I mean transparently, I'm currently going through a problem
- 43:21Speaker 1: because I have like three thousand orders unfulfilled because you know,
- 43:27Speaker 1: we're we're teaching people, we're taking people off the stream.
- 43:31Speaker 1: We're essentially teaching them how to screenprint, right, So that's
- 43:34Speaker 1: a whole thing in itself. But then when you have
- 43:38Speaker 1: thirty forty skws on a website and people want one
- 43:41Speaker 1: hundred of these, be twenty of these and thirty of these,
- 43:43Speaker 1: and you got to print theeves and this and then
- 43:45Speaker 1: shipping and this, it's like a whole thing. So I
- 43:48Speaker 1: just shut down the skid Row site just for a
- 43:51Speaker 1: couple of weeks, shipping everyone their shit out, and I
- 43:55Speaker 1: brought in a new manager to help run the business.
- 43:57Speaker 1: And yeah, so you're going through that as we speak. Yeah, yeah,
- 44:01Speaker 1: going through it as we speak, Because you know, you
- 44:04Speaker 1: want a million orders. You want people to spend you know,
- 44:07Speaker 1: a million, but how you're gonna fucking ship a million
- 44:09Speaker 1: dollars worth of product? You know what I mean? So
- 44:13Speaker 1: expansion growth. We talked a little bit about, you know
- 44:17Speaker 1: how I feel like you're underrated in the LA scene.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Who are some of the artists that you grew up
- 44:21Speaker 1: listening to that you feel like never really got their
- 44:23Speaker 1: their full flowers in LA? I don't know. I mean
- 44:33Speaker 1: the people I grew I grew up listening to Park,
- 44:35Speaker 1: I grew up listening to Jay Wayne. You know, like,
- 44:38Speaker 1: there's like Nip I let's say Nip. I'll say Nip
- 44:44Speaker 1: because Nip was a purveyor of taste and he had
- 44:48Speaker 1: that thing and he had to spark and to make
- 44:49Speaker 1: great music, and he was for the cultures, for hiss hoodies,
- 44:52Speaker 1: for the people we made good music. And uh it
- 44:56Speaker 1: was only through his posthumous death that he was a
- 45:00Speaker 1: appreciate it fully appreciated. But yeah, I've never seen a
- 45:04Speaker 1: me before though, I've never seen a nigg who do
- 45:06Speaker 1: all this shit I've done has indirectly and directly affected culture.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Who hasn't gotten his flowers Yet's say, twelve months from now,
- 45:14Speaker 1: I'm talking to you. Let's manifest some shit. What do
- 45:17Speaker 1: you hope? What do you Where do you hope to be?
- 45:18Speaker 1: Where do you hope to have happened? This year? Man
- 45:23Speaker 1: number one across the board and everything, skid Row Manufacturing
- 45:28Speaker 1: gross fifty million dollars employed, and how thousands of people music,
- 45:33Speaker 1: number one hit single album, touring across the board, sold out,
- 45:40Speaker 1: audio books, my publishing company, number one on Amazon, my
- 45:46Speaker 1: kids program, just drawing, building the school here in New York, Chicago.
- 45:51Speaker 1: My art and the Louver, the MoMA, the Mocha, you know,
- 45:56Speaker 1: going for two hundred. I'm about to do an art exhibition.
- 45:59Speaker 1: That's why I mentioned I'm gonna show you something. I've
- 46:00Speaker 1: been working on it. I'm doing an art exhibition next month.
- 46:06Speaker 1: My first time doing these like twenty foot artworks. So
- 46:14Speaker 1: you can't really see how big these are. But this
- 46:17Speaker 1: is like twenty five feet. Oh that's fire. They have
- 46:22Speaker 1: like real hair. Oh shit, Now if somebody wanted to this,
- 46:31Speaker 1: that's crazy. How big this is what we're saying. I
- 46:34Speaker 1: was gonna say, hypothetically speaking, someone wants to buy one
- 46:36Speaker 1: of these? What is it? What is a twenty five
- 46:38Speaker 1: foot piece of art? Go for from David Sebastian. That's
- 46:42Speaker 1: a lot so like, so like what com big? This is? Yes,
- 46:49Speaker 1: that's massive, that's fire. So this I think I haven't
- 46:53Speaker 1: it's gonna be about one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Wow.
- 46:59Speaker 1: What it like when you painting and making art like
- 47:02Speaker 1: that is like you gotta have inspiration? Like what is
- 47:07Speaker 1: it like? Is it something that like how often are
- 47:10Speaker 1: you working on pieces? Every morning? Four o'clock in the morning.
- 47:13Speaker 1: I have a regimen four to nine, eight, four to
- 47:17Speaker 1: nine in the morning, I'm painting nine to three, I'm
- 47:20Speaker 1: doing business three to seven, I'm shooting content seven to
- 47:25Speaker 1: eleven or twelve, I'm making music. So you're sleeping three
- 47:28Speaker 1: or four hours a day kind of yeah. I be
- 47:31Speaker 1: up with my videographer Esco at three thirty in the
- 47:34Speaker 1: morning talking shit all day, just working. Do you feel
- 47:38Speaker 1: like have you always had that kind of like those
- 47:40Speaker 1: sleep habits? Yes, yes, I love. I honestly like I
- 47:46Speaker 1: love And if you're listening this, you should try it
- 47:50Speaker 1: because spiritually the veil is thinnest at three o'clock in
- 47:55Speaker 1: the morning. There's an energy why everyone is sleep. It's
- 47:59Speaker 1: like it's like cpu power in your fucking computer. Right
- 48:03Speaker 1: while everyone's awake, all the energy and everything is being
- 48:06Speaker 1: distributed evenly. But when motherfuckers asleep, you can just my
- 48:10Speaker 1: best idea is my best songs. Everything happens three in
- 48:14Speaker 1: the morning, four in the morning. So you feel like
- 48:17Speaker 1: what because I feel like most people would think you
- 48:20Speaker 1: need eight hours of sleep. I know a lot of
- 48:22Speaker 1: people like usually I get about six, six to seven.
- 48:24Speaker 1: But I mean, you say you're rolling on four hours
- 48:26Speaker 1: of sleep. We don't need anything. We have been conditioned
- 48:31Speaker 1: and told as a as a human race that we
- 48:33Speaker 1: need this and we need that, and we need this
- 48:36Speaker 1: or we're gonna be deficient of this and you need this.
- 48:38Speaker 1: So we believed it, and that belief system is what
- 48:41Speaker 1: perpetuates the need for that. We need eight hours of sleep.
- 48:45Speaker 1: So you need eight hours of sleep, and if you
- 48:46Speaker 1: don't have it, then you feel the als of that.
- 48:48Speaker 1: You don't need shit. You are You are a fucking god.
- 48:51Speaker 1: You can do whatever the fuck you want and be
- 48:54Speaker 1: completely fine, ladies and gentlemen. That is David Sebastian. Yeah,
- 48:58Speaker 1: and he's got well. So we're clear. People can go
- 49:02Speaker 1: support the audio book. When audible text me nine one seven,
- 49:07Speaker 1: five three five, eight, five, seven seven. If you want
- 49:10Speaker 1: to be a part of this community, this tribe that
- 49:12Speaker 1: I'm building text three one oh three eight eight fifty
- 49:15Speaker 1: one ninety three. If you want to buy some skill
- 49:17Speaker 1: roll shit, go to ski Rollfashion weeek dot com, or
- 49:20Speaker 1: pull up to the warehouse on Peico and Maine, thirteen
- 49:26Speaker 1: hundred South Maine. That's where the ski roll office is.
- 49:30Speaker 1: If you want to be a part of the team
- 49:32Speaker 1: and you want to help expand this hit careers at
- 49:35Speaker 1: Believing Yourself Records dot com. You know that's the label.
- 49:39Speaker 1: If you got a book and you want to get published,
- 49:41Speaker 1: you know my niggas read books to publishing. That's mine.
- 49:46Speaker 1: I love that. And then eight projects of music coming.
- 49:51Speaker 1: We didn't even talk about the music. Valentine's Day Times,
- 49:54Speaker 1: I made girls Cry. April re release The Weird God June, Atlanta, Georgia,
- 50:01Speaker 1: nine to oh some some some here. This is the
- 50:04Speaker 1: I also got a little calendar of all the this year.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Ain't fucking around, man, Oh I see it. Yeah, And
- 50:13Speaker 1: he's done all the artwork already done. I got the
- 50:16Speaker 1: albums done, everything's done. Is it harder for you to
- 50:20Speaker 1: do that? While being quote unquote on a major label.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Where is that part of the deal that you worked
- 50:25Speaker 1: out this part? I mean they're my partners. I'm not
- 50:27Speaker 1: signed to this. Okay, if it's a joint JV situation,
- 50:31Speaker 1: But listen, man, if this is this is where you
- 50:36Speaker 1: kind of zoom into the camera, you get into my face.
- 50:38Speaker 1: I look at this right here. You could do whatever
- 50:42Speaker 1: the fuck you want to do. Okay, you could fly
- 50:45Speaker 1: if you believe it. In order to know you can fly,
- 50:48Speaker 1: you gotta jump first. That's how a bird learns it
- 50:51Speaker 1: can fly, because the mother fucking kicks it out the
- 50:53Speaker 1: nest and it falls and then it either fly or die.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Right And all I'm doing is spreading my wings. If
- 51:00Speaker 1: you're not gonna give it to me, I don't need
- 51:03Speaker 1: a coach sign. I don't need none of that shit.
- 51:05Speaker 1: At the end of the day, I am waking up
- 51:07Speaker 1: people one at a time, and all of this is
- 51:11Speaker 1: going to create this cosmic shift of energy within our people. Man,
- 51:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna put on the Illis shows without a label.
- 51:23Speaker 1: It's not even about a label. My self fund that she.
- 51:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna put on the Illis shows. Drop the illess visuals,
- 51:28Speaker 1: drop the illess music, the illess merch at the same
- 51:32Speaker 1: goddamn time gap goodwill collapse. I'm gonna show you something.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Don't say it online, but yo, look at this Hollywood
- 51:41Speaker 1: un Locke is dropping this who what me who? It's
- 51:51Speaker 1: a rap. There it is, go following man. Yeah, and
- 51:56Speaker 1: thank you and thank you for this interview, thank you
- 51:58Speaker 1: for letting me freestyle. And man, please invite me back anytime.

- 52:04Speaker 1: this guy, Go support him. David Tebastian
