- 0:00Speaker 1: Before we begin the recap, we do want to say
- 0:03Speaker 1: that we are thinking and praying for Katie Thurston, who
- 0:07Speaker 1: came out this weekend with an announcement that she has
- 0:10Speaker 1: breast cancer. She's in the midst of it right now,
- 0:16Speaker 1: planning her treatment process. She will have to undergo chemo unfortunately.
- 0:22Speaker 1: So we're going to do a whole episode on breast
- 0:24Speaker 1: cancer early detection, what's lookout for anything we can find
- 0:32Speaker 1: out about Katie's case. We of course want to have
- 0:35Speaker 1: her on at some point whenever she feels comfortable to
- 0:40Speaker 1: talk about her specific case, but until then, we just
- 0:45Speaker 1: want to make sure that everybody out there is getting
- 0:47Speaker 1: the influid they need because this is affecting women of
- 0:53Speaker 1: a lot of a younger age these days. Katie is
- 0:55Speaker 1: thirty four, and it's becoming less and less shocking to
- 1:00Speaker 1: hear of a thirty four year old having breast cancer.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Normally it would be something that you would think of
- 1:05Speaker 1: as forties, and plus that's when they tell.
- 1:07Speaker 2: You to start getting your mammograms at forty.
- 1:09Speaker 1: And I'm thinking that earlier is probably better now. But yeah,
- 1:13Speaker 1: so we're gonna have a doctor on later this week
- 1:15Speaker 1: to talk about breast cancer whole episode. We are so
- 1:20Speaker 1: so sorry, and we were thinking about Katie. We're praying
- 1:23Speaker 1: for every day. Really hope that you know. But if
- 1:26Speaker 1: anybody is gonna like kick cancer's ass, you know it
- 1:29Speaker 1: is Katie Thurston. Like, this girl is a strong, tough
- 1:34Speaker 1: woman and we're behind her and giving her all the
- 1:39Speaker 1: love and support we possibly consent.
- 1:42Speaker 3: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 1:45Speaker 3: with iHeartRadio.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. It's Ashley
- 1:52Speaker 1: and Ben is still out on paternity leave, so we
- 1:55Speaker 1: are here with Zachary Reality to recap this week's episode
- 1:59Speaker 1: of Grand Season.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Hey Zach Hello, Hello.
- 2:01Speaker 5: I feel like I'm in the right place because I
- 2:03Speaker 5: am like so Bachelor Nation strong. I love the show,
- 2:05Speaker 5: I love the franchise. So I'm so excited to chat
- 2:07Speaker 5: all things with you.
- 2:08Speaker 2: And you told me off Mike that you love this season.
- 2:12Speaker 1: So we are a little a bit in a disagreeance here,
- 2:15Speaker 1: but I love that there are people who love this season.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Why is it that it's got you?
- 2:20Speaker 5: I love the girl drama and the girl competition. All
- 2:23Speaker 5: of these girls are so fabulous. I feel like every
- 2:25Speaker 5: week I get to know them better, and I think
- 2:27Speaker 5: that's why the show gets better as it goes along
- 2:29Speaker 5: because you actually get invested as time goes on. So,
- 2:31Speaker 5: now four episodes in, I know everyone's name. I feel
- 2:34Speaker 5: so confident going into the final seven. We have our
- 2:36Speaker 5: key players left, so I think we have a good
- 2:39Speaker 5: group and we have good drama.
- 2:41Speaker 1: After this episode, who do you think is going to hometowns?
- 2:44Speaker 1: Because that is right around the freaking corner. It's either
- 2:48Speaker 1: gonna be not of course, next week, but you think
- 2:50Speaker 1: it's gonna be the following week. You think we're gonna
- 2:52Speaker 1: eliminate three girls next week.
- 2:54Speaker 5: I kind of do. For some reason. I feel like
- 2:56Speaker 5: this is a shorter season, but I don't know.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I hope not.
- 2:59Speaker 5: I was actually hoping would stay and that just Natalie
- 3:01Speaker 5: would go because it feels like the girls are going
- 3:03Speaker 5: so fast. But I think for Hometowns, I definitely see Juliana,
- 3:07Speaker 5: Let's Sea, Dina and Alex in the top four.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Okay, I would agree that this episode, probably there's always
- 3:15Speaker 1: one episode like this kind of trimmed the fat. You know,
- 3:19Speaker 1: the three obvious people to go home were the ones
- 3:22Speaker 1: that went home.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Yeah, but Rose was unexpected because she was like over
- 3:26Speaker 5: it and they worked through it and then she just
- 3:29Speaker 5: like maybe process things. A couple days later went off
- 3:31Speaker 5: on Carolina spiraled and left like it was just so
- 3:33Speaker 5: shocking and sudden.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It was interesting, But I still think she would have
- 3:38Speaker 1: been the last one to be eliminated. I just don't
- 3:41Speaker 1: think they got there yet, comparable to the rest of
- 3:44Speaker 1: the girls that happened that are remaining. Okay, so let's
- 3:47Speaker 1: go through the episode. Group date number one is Dina.
- 3:51Speaker 1: You know, all before that group day always sees them,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you know, finding out that they're going to Madrid.
- 3:57Speaker 2: It's the day.
- 3:57Speaker 1: After the the prom rose ceremony, and people are still
- 4:05Speaker 1: feeling not so great about Carolina having taken time, but
- 4:09Speaker 1: we're focused on Dina.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Now.
- 4:11Speaker 2: They do the.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Classic They did the classic Spanish trip. This is what
- 4:16Speaker 1: they do every time they go to Spain. The kids
- 4:18Speaker 1: play soccer. There's like dancing in the streets. What else
- 4:23Speaker 1: did they do on their date? There was there was
- 4:25Speaker 1: one moment that I was like, oh, that's actually kind
- 4:28Speaker 1: of cute.
- 4:29Speaker 4: They were just kind of vibing all day.
- 4:31Speaker 2: They ride a little boat. It was the boat that's nice.
- 4:33Speaker 5: Yeah, And that night she was talking about how she's
- 4:36Speaker 5: one of eleven, so she has a lot of siblings
- 4:39Speaker 5: and then with her parents they were thirteen. So she
- 4:42Speaker 5: was just talking about how she had to kind of
- 4:44Speaker 5: overcome feeling like she had to prove herself.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I guess right, And I just I really like I
- 4:51Speaker 1: went from Okay, if you listen to the podcast, you
- 4:54Speaker 1: kind of know that. Like, I just didn't think that
- 4:56Speaker 1: he had it with Dina.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I thought she was also.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Kind of hanging by a thread. Actually I was definitely wrong.
- 5:02Speaker 1: She is different than the rest of the girls. She
- 5:05Speaker 1: is intimidating, like she says that she often comes across
- 5:08Speaker 1: to people, but you can tell she's truly smart.
- 5:11Speaker 2: She does a lot to her.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And I think he thinks it's really sexy the way
- 5:16Speaker 1: that she's like this strong, independent woman.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Mm hmm. Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 5: But I also didn't see that much of a connection
- 5:22Speaker 5: between them as well.
- 5:24Speaker 4: I feel like she could.
- 5:25Speaker 5: End up being more of a friend, and I don't
- 5:28Speaker 5: think that he's gonna end up picking her.
- 5:30Speaker 4: She also was a little boring.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Okay, interested sick.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I like the way that we're on different pages here.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I also don't think that they're going to end up together.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I'm not even sure she'll be Final four, but I
- 5:41Speaker 1: think that he's very intrigued by her. I think she's
- 5:44Speaker 1: different than anyone he's ever dated. And they have this
- 5:47Speaker 1: interesting conversation where he says that she reminds him of
- 5:52Speaker 1: his mom, but he's he's spoken about his mom and
- 5:56Speaker 1: not he loves his mom. He definitely, you know, thinks
- 6:00Speaker 1: that she's a great woman and so grateful for everything
- 6:03Speaker 1: that like she's she did for him and his sister.
- 6:07Speaker 1: But he definitely says that his mom focused too much
- 6:10Speaker 1: on work. It was too focused on the provider element.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And I think that he when he says that you
- 6:18Speaker 1: remind me of my mom, he's thinking about that too.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And then they have this discussion over like I can
- 6:25Speaker 1: take care of you, you take care of me, like
- 6:26Speaker 1: we have like we're both equals in this providing element
- 6:31Speaker 1: of the relationship. Would you think about this this conversation.
- 6:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I definitely feel like picking Dina would
- 6:36Speaker 5: be like stable, and she seems responsible, Like she seems
- 6:39Speaker 5: like she'll be a great responsible She's gonna be a
- 6:42Speaker 5: great wife and mother. But I just don't think that
- 6:44Speaker 5: she has that like adventurous spirit, and like maybe she does,
- 6:47Speaker 5: because the fiery side of her kind of came out
- 6:49Speaker 5: in the coming attractions for now.
- 6:50Speaker 1: She said that she went to Europe three times during
- 6:53Speaker 1: the summer. Do you remember that from last week?
- 6:56Speaker 4: And I didn't even remember that.
- 6:57Speaker 5: But there was just something a little like boring about
- 6:59Speaker 5: her where she seems like a little uptight for him.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I don't know, I agree, I understand this, like I don't. Yeah,
- 7:06Speaker 1: I don't see this happening. But but she's more of
- 7:10Speaker 1: a contender than I thought she would be. So back
- 7:13Speaker 1: at the house, the girls are speculating and.
- 7:14Speaker 2: She could come home with a Rosaora like most people
- 7:16Speaker 2: think she is. And the date card says that alex.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Letia, Carolina, Natalie, Rose, Parisa, Zoe, and Juliana would be
- 7:25Speaker 1: going on a wild ride. This means that Saraphina will
- 7:29Speaker 1: get the will be getting the one on one date.
- 7:31Speaker 1: During this home portion, you can already see people are
- 7:37Speaker 1: chirpin about Carolina and her complaints. What's your take on
- 7:41Speaker 1: Carolina's complaints thus far? Because from what I feel like
- 7:45Speaker 1: we've seen, she I interpret it as she is insecure
- 7:51Speaker 1: that she went on a date with him, she really
- 7:53Speaker 1: liked him. She came home and she was like, oh
- 7:56Speaker 1: my gosh, now I have to see other people date
- 7:58Speaker 1: him and everything worry, worry, and her doubts are more
- 8:03Speaker 1: of like doubting this process, Like this process is crazy.
- 8:07Speaker 1: How am I actually supposed to know if I can
- 8:10Speaker 1: get engaged to this guy. I don't hear her coming
- 8:13Speaker 1: up with doubts about his character. Are we missing something?
- 8:19Speaker 4: I think she's over sharing to the group. I think
- 8:21Speaker 4: these are things.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Oh well, I agree that these are things.
- 8:24Speaker 5: You need to keep an interview, like this is what
- 8:26Speaker 5: you tell your producers when you're in the confessionals. This
- 8:28Speaker 5: is not what you share to the girls. I think
- 8:30Speaker 5: she thinks that everyone. I don't know if people are
- 8:32Speaker 5: asking her questions and she just really wants to just
- 8:35Speaker 5: share all. But I feel like she's oversharing. She should
- 8:37Speaker 5: be keeping her cards closer to her chest. And I
- 8:39Speaker 5: think that's going to be her demise, is that she
- 8:42Speaker 5: is letting everyone know her business. And I think that's
- 8:44Speaker 5: where she put her foot in her mouth one too
- 8:46Speaker 5: many times, and why she's rubbing people the wrong way,
- 8:48Speaker 5: because like she's realistic and she's skeptical, but she's just
- 8:52Speaker 5: like being too aloof with like her information.
- 8:55Speaker 2: This is so true.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yes, these are things that you write in yourcheler diary,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and that you tell your producer. But why are you
- 9:03Speaker 1: telling the girls that you have any sorts of doubts?
- 9:06Speaker 1: Because everybody secretly has the doubts, but you say it
- 9:08Speaker 1: out loud, and it's gonna not be a good look.
- 9:12Speaker 1: All right, So let's get to the group date and
- 9:14Speaker 1: we'll talk more about Carolina later. So the group date's
- 9:17Speaker 1: actually quite fun. It's a bull riding contest, and Alex
- 9:23Speaker 1: comes up with this way to really grab onto the
- 9:26Speaker 1: bull by the horse.
- 9:28Speaker 2: She took the bull by the horns, and she rides.
- 9:30Speaker 1: That thing well, and of course Zoe takes up her
- 9:35Speaker 1: her you know her, and yeah, and she ends up
- 9:39Speaker 1: beating her out with this. And I do not believe
- 9:41Speaker 1: that she actually beat her in this competition. I think
- 9:44Speaker 1: Alex deserved it. But it wasn't as if they really
- 9:47Speaker 1: even got much of a reward for winning this, so
- 9:52Speaker 1: I guess it wasn't that big of a deal.
- 9:53Speaker 5: It was like a sunset champagne moment. It probably was
- 9:55Speaker 5: like an extra thirty minutes.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Let's say, you know what, You're right, it was was
- 10:00Speaker 1: I forgot about the sunset champagne.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And those moments are they're critical when you add them up.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Mm hmm. Well, Zoe I think is really strong, like
- 10:08Speaker 4: she was a wrestler.
- 10:08Speaker 5: She has muscles, and I think riding the bull is
- 10:11Speaker 5: about like staying tight to it, So I think that's
- 10:13Speaker 5: why she won. And Zoe is beautiful as well. I
- 10:16Speaker 5: mean she's stunning and gorgeous Zoe. She's stunned this She's
- 10:20Speaker 5: also been a little bit like high maintenance too, and
- 10:22Speaker 5: a lot of drama. So I think it'll be interesting
- 10:24Speaker 5: if she makes it to Hometowns because she has been
- 10:27Speaker 5: a rollercoaster this season.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yes, I don't know if she will, but she was
- 10:34Speaker 1: one of my first guesses to make Hometowns.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Who the heck knows.
- 10:38Speaker 1: She Her character is all over the place because they
- 10:41Speaker 1: were villainizing her last week and the week before, and
- 10:43Speaker 1: now all of a sudden, she's just kind of one
- 10:45Speaker 1: of the girls.
- 10:46Speaker 2: No one's complaining about her.
- 10:48Speaker 5: Well, Carolina has took up that spot and is really
- 10:51Speaker 5: taking over the show. I mean, I'm sure she's gonna
- 10:53Speaker 5: go home next week. It's gonna hit it all time high.
- 10:55Speaker 5: But she's giving us a lot of material. Where do
- 10:57Speaker 5: you think she ranks in Bachelor villains?
- 11:00Speaker 2: Oh, Carolina, I think she said nothing villain. I don't
- 11:03Speaker 2: even think she's a villain.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I think she's partially being a little bit misunderstood.
- 11:09Speaker 2: We will get to the and I guess you're right.
- 11:11Speaker 2: This takes part at.
- 11:13Speaker 1: The after party, the bull riding after party, Carolina and
- 11:19Speaker 1: Juliana have their big confrontation here. I didn't like this, Okay,
- 11:37Speaker 1: so call me a devil's advocate, which I tend to
- 11:42Speaker 1: look at the show through devil's advocate glasses, But I
- 11:48Speaker 1: thought that Juliana seemed to be a little bit villainous
- 11:51Speaker 1: in this moment. She was like, do you feel that,
- 11:56Speaker 1: because she was like, you are making everything up about you,
- 12:00Speaker 1: like your doubts. But then it was the doubts. She's like,
- 12:03Speaker 1: why do you keep talking about your doubts? And I'm like,
- 12:08Speaker 1: just because the girl's expressing her doubts doesn't mean that
- 12:12Speaker 1: she's not appreciative of the time that she had. She's
- 12:15Speaker 1: not saying, man, I wish I didn't have that time
- 12:18Speaker 1: with Grant. She's saying, I have doubts about the time
- 12:21Speaker 1: that I had with him, and she's doubting the process, which,
- 12:27Speaker 1: like you said, she should be saying to somebody else
- 12:30Speaker 1: or in her Bachelor diary.
- 12:32Speaker 2: So it's a weird move to be talking to the
- 12:34Speaker 2: girls about.
- 12:35Speaker 1: This, But she's technically not being not appreciative. She's just
- 12:42Speaker 1: being thoughtful. Am I crazy? Our producer here is giving
- 12:48Speaker 1: me support, she texted me in the chat she is
- 12:51Speaker 1: she agrees. It's yeah, there's a difference between not appreciating time,
- 12:57Speaker 1: which is what Juliana is accusing her of being doubtful
- 13:01Speaker 1: of the time that she's had with him.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Go ahead, Zach Well, it was just so weird. I love.
- 13:05Speaker 5: The key moment of the night was when Carolina said,
- 13:08Speaker 5: what is your question? So what's your question? Because Juliana,
- 13:11Speaker 5: no one asked for your opinion. And I do think
- 13:13Speaker 5: that Juliana was like kind of speaking a little bit
- 13:15Speaker 5: of facts of some frustration that her and some of
- 13:18Speaker 5: the other girls have had about Carolina, but ultimately, like,
- 13:20Speaker 5: it's really not your business to pull her aside and
- 13:23Speaker 5: tell her what you think about her when she didn't ask,
- 13:25Speaker 5: And are you trying to help her, are you trying
- 13:26Speaker 5: to give her advice or are you just trying to like.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Let your feelings off your chest.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Because other than that, go to confessional, go to say
- 13:33Speaker 5: it for the women tell all like, there's no point
- 13:35Speaker 5: of pulling her aside if you're not trying to help her.
- 13:37Speaker 5: So it felt like she was trying to like corner her,
- 13:39Speaker 5: and she did look like the villain in that situation.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Oh you did, okay you thought?
- 13:43Speaker 1: So?
- 13:43Speaker 2: Okay, good, I'm.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Team Carolina, but the internet is siding with Juliana.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Your team Carolina.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, I've been team Carolina, even last week with
- 13:52Speaker 5: the Rose stuff.
- 13:53Speaker 4: I've been riding with Carolina all season.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Okay, yes, So again, if they're annoyed at her time
- 14:00Speaker 1: taking up time, there's been times where we get it.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But last week I think she had every right to
- 14:06Speaker 1: go up to him and say, hey, so this girl
- 14:11Speaker 1: Rose told me that when you were like dirty dancing
- 14:14Speaker 1: with me, you were thinking of her.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Of course she's going to she's gonna confront him about that.
- 14:22Speaker 1: That is legit, and that is this episode, the turnaround
- 14:27Speaker 1: on that.
- 14:27Speaker 2: We will get to that in a minute, but I just.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Want to just to focus a little bit more on
- 14:32Speaker 1: the Juliana conversation. It was bizarre because Juliana, who has
- 14:36Speaker 1: I think, really tried to be very likable and put together.
- 14:43Speaker 1: She showed some cracks in this conversation. To me, she
- 14:46Speaker 1: seemed to get great joy out of telling Grant that
- 14:52Speaker 1: Carolina was being a problem in the house. And she definitely,
- 14:57Speaker 1: from what we've seen, exaggerated what.
- 15:02Speaker 2: She's been saying because.
- 15:03Speaker 1: She was like, she's had doubts about you. She's talking
- 15:07Speaker 1: about how she's not sure about you. We as an
- 15:10Speaker 1: audience haven't seen it. So who's in the wrong here.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Is Juliana making this up? Or are the producers or
- 15:18Speaker 1: the editors not showing us important stuff to the storyline,
- 15:23Speaker 1: which has been our theme on this podcast all season long.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Are we missing something because the puzzle pieces aren't fitting.
- 15:30Speaker 5: There's off camera conversations. It was eluded last week when
- 15:33Speaker 5: Rose and Carolina. That key point happened off camera. I
- 15:37Speaker 5: think the girls are talking in the bunks at night,
- 15:39Speaker 5: in the bathroom, in the bathroom or at night maybe
- 15:42Speaker 5: like when the when they're sleeping, like do you think
- 15:44Speaker 5: they're they're probably telling each other how they really feel.
- 15:47Speaker 5: And I think they're testing their friendships and testing who
- 15:50Speaker 5: will bring what to air. I mean Rose said this
- 15:52Speaker 5: week like I would never have brought that to air,
- 15:54Speaker 5: So there seems to be some miscommunication. I kind of
- 15:57Speaker 5: believe Juliana, and I do think she has Grant's best interest.
- 16:00Speaker 5: I also think she's a major front runner. She's actually
- 16:02Speaker 5: my winter pick.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Carolina is still your winter pick.
- 16:04Speaker 4: No, Juliana is my winter Oh Juliana.
- 16:07Speaker 5: I think there's room for Juliana to recover from this
- 16:10Speaker 5: misstep that she had this week.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I don't think that Juliana has misstepped in Grant's eyes, right,
- 16:17Speaker 1: it seems like he's still.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Very much like it does not.
- 16:20Speaker 1: He said that I respect you more after you coming
- 16:23Speaker 1: to me and airing this out, which was usually bachelors
- 16:28Speaker 1: won't say that about somebody who is being the rat,
- 16:32Speaker 1: you know. Oftentimes the you know, we gotta say what
- 16:37Speaker 1: we gotta say, but usually those people don't get all
- 16:41Speaker 1: the way and are barely ever said like, I respect.
- 16:45Speaker 2: You more for coming to me and telling me this.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Right.
- 16:48Speaker 5: But so, what happened in the group, Dad is after
- 16:50Speaker 5: Juliana and Carolina's misstep, Grant came back and he kind
- 16:53Speaker 5: of interrupted when they were talking to the girls in
- 16:56Speaker 5: the group, do you remember, And then Grant pulled Carolyne
- 17:00Speaker 5: aside because he noticed that she was crying, and then
- 17:02Speaker 5: he didn't hands out.
- 17:03Speaker 4: The group date Rose.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Oh yes, so this is gonna make the girls dislike
- 17:08Speaker 5: Carolina even more because Grant pulled her aside. Now she's
- 17:12Speaker 5: getting even more time, and then no one gets a roast,
- 17:14Speaker 5: So now they all feel like they got punished.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yes, you're right, Well, this is all above. You know,
- 17:21Speaker 1: these are all God's hands at work. These are the
- 17:24Speaker 1: Bachelor God's hands at work. Of course, Caroline is gonna
- 17:27Speaker 1: be the last one to talk to him, and therefore
- 17:30Speaker 1: it's gonna seem like she's the one to blame. All right, Well,
- 17:35Speaker 1: then let's go on to the one group, the final
- 17:38Speaker 1: one on one before we get into the real nitty
- 17:41Speaker 1: gritty with Carolina. At the end of the episode, this
- 17:43Speaker 1: is with Sarah Fina. They go bungee jumping, and every
- 17:47Speaker 1: time I do a bungee jumping day, I contemplate whether
- 17:51Speaker 1: it seems fun or or I could never do it.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I would never do that in my life.
- 17:57Speaker 5: I don't want to jump off a bridge, I don't
- 17:59Speaker 5: want to jump out of thee I don't like roller coasters.
- 18:02Speaker 5: But Sara Fina, she was fearless.
- 18:04Speaker 1: See, I think I would do it over water on
- 18:07Speaker 1: The Bachelor, not in life, but on the Bachelor as
- 18:11Speaker 1: a bonding over love experience. Like if they had me
- 18:14Speaker 1: and Jared go back and do like an episode, I
- 18:16Speaker 1: would do this with him.
- 18:17Speaker 2: He actually did it with Claire, so that makes it
- 18:19Speaker 2: quite weird. He did it over water with Claire.
- 18:22Speaker 5: They do it almost every single season. They do the
- 18:24Speaker 5: bungee jump, and you know there's bachelor trivia for you.
- 18:28Speaker 5: There's one girl who did not do it on her
- 18:31Speaker 5: one on one date when she was supposed to jump
- 18:32Speaker 5: out of a bridge.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Do you know who it is?
- 18:36Speaker 2: No? Who good trivia.
- 18:38Speaker 4: From one Pablo season. Her name is Chelsea.
- 18:41Speaker 5: She refused to jump off the bridge, so she just
- 18:44Speaker 5: they just changed the date.
- 18:45Speaker 4: They just didn't do it.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Did he get annoyed?
- 18:48Speaker 4: I don't think so, not really.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's so. That's such good trivia.
- 18:53Speaker 5: I was thinking of like last night. The reason I
- 18:54Speaker 5: thought of that was because I would never jump off
- 18:56Speaker 5: a bridge. If I was Sarah Fina, like, I would
- 18:58Speaker 5: be like, I'm not doing this because that seems so scary.
- 19:00Speaker 5: But she was so fearless, so I really commend her
- 19:03Speaker 5: for that.
- 19:03Speaker 1: What I thought about was like the fact that you're
- 19:06Speaker 1: going down head first, you know, and then your head
- 19:09Speaker 1: hangs upside down.
- 19:11Speaker 2: That seems to be the worst part.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Like when they did the jump in Vegas, that seems
- 19:15Speaker 1: like something I would definitely do on a bachelor date,
- 19:19Speaker 1: but never voluntarily do this is just like, ah, does
- 19:22Speaker 1: this actually hurt?
- 19:23Speaker 2: You know?
- 19:24Speaker 1: And would I rather go skydiving or bungee jumping? Which
- 19:27Speaker 1: one seems more dangerous? With this team, this woman that
- 19:32Speaker 1: was conducting the bungee jump was making me nervous, right.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Oh yeah, but I feel like they were told to
- 19:37Speaker 4: do that right now.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Definitely they're like play along, yeah, and the safety.
- 19:42Speaker 5: Because Sarafina just wasn't sweating like most people would at
- 19:45Speaker 5: least be nervous, they would have to work through it together.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Like she was just so tough. She was like, Okay,
- 19:49Speaker 5: let's do it. And Grant was a little nervous, but
- 19:52Speaker 5: it could have been way more dramatic.
- 19:55Speaker 1: So Sarafina to me is the girl that got this
- 19:58Speaker 1: week's date, and we'll get through to next week, but
- 20:02Speaker 1: then you know, be eliminated before hometowns where it's like, oh.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Did we waste that one on one?
- 20:08Speaker 1: You know, like they have a nice, a nice friendly connection.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I don't see a great love here, what about you?
- 20:16Speaker 5: Well, you know, the highlight of the date is when
- 20:19Speaker 5: Brant was like, you know, I feel like you're holding
- 20:20Speaker 5: back when I try and kiss you, and she's like, yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 5: my mom's watching.
- 20:25Speaker 4: My mom is watching, So I don't know.
- 20:27Speaker 2: It was the best.
- 20:30Speaker 5: So that's where it's interesting because it's like, yes, Sarafina
- 20:33Speaker 5: seems behind some of the other girls. It seems a
- 20:35Speaker 5: little forced the connection. But is she just holding back
- 20:37Speaker 5: because her mom is watching? Was that just a joke
- 20:40Speaker 5: or is she just holding back because she's on TV?
- 20:42Speaker 5: So there might be more to Serafina to be explored,
- 20:45Speaker 5: but it definitely seems like she's behind even after this date,
- 20:48Speaker 5: Like she's not going to be a front runner the
- 20:50Speaker 5: top three.
- 20:51Speaker 2: No, I don't think so either.
- 20:53Speaker 1: She does talk about how she was embarrassed to be
- 20:59Speaker 1: to be growing up for with a single mom. She
- 21:02Speaker 1: feels like she missed out a lot on a lot
- 21:04Speaker 1: and like she said that she was sad to have
- 21:06Speaker 1: a traditional wedding because she didn't want to not have
- 21:08Speaker 1: anybody walk her down the aisle, and that was very sweet.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I mean, you know, sad, but like that was a nice,
- 21:17Speaker 1: little vulnerable moment and you know.
- 21:21Speaker 4: She looks like Charity.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I like her. Okay, thank you, thank you. I'm like,
- 21:25Speaker 2: this girl is exactly Charity.
- 21:27Speaker 4: And you know who you know, Alex? She looks just
- 21:29Speaker 4: like Michelle too, you.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Think Alex Michelle Alex?
- 21:33Speaker 1: Okay, because Alex has been I look at her every
- 21:36Speaker 1: week and I go, who do you look like? She
- 21:39Speaker 1: looks so much like someone. I'm not sure if it's Michelle.
- 21:42Speaker 1: She has Michelle like qualities for sure. But Sarafina is Charity.
- 21:46Speaker 5: Right, No, for real, I really like Sarafina. She seems
- 21:49Speaker 5: sassy and fun. She did make one rude comment this
- 21:52Speaker 5: season when she was saying that Zoe's dress was too short.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that was weird. That's kind of isn't that a
- 22:01Speaker 4: rude comment?
- 22:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not a comment that we make in today's
- 22:05Speaker 1: day and age, But then again we.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Do, do you know what I mean?
- 22:08Speaker 1: Like, that's like the kind of thing that you're not
- 22:11Speaker 1: gonna say on camera because you're not going to be
- 22:14Speaker 1: like the anti feminist girl. You're not going to be
- 22:17Speaker 1: the one that's putting women down right for their clothing choices?
- 22:20Speaker 2: Will you whisper about it in the bathroom? Possibly?
- 22:25Speaker 5: Right, So she'll probably have to clarify that at the
- 22:27Speaker 5: Women Tell All. But I mean, she got the rose,
- 22:30Speaker 5: so she's in the top seven. I can't believe there's
- 22:32Speaker 5: only seven girls.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Lefts Yeah, I know, so crazy. Okay, So let's get
- 22:36Speaker 1: to the rose ceremony. Well, the cocktail party rose ceremony
- 22:40Speaker 1: the most juicy part of the entire night. So I
- 22:44Speaker 1: first want to just say, because I got a little
- 22:46Speaker 1: comment from our producer here she goes. When Juliana was
- 22:49Speaker 1: talking to Grant earlier in the episode, she was smiling
- 22:54Speaker 1: ear to ear when she was talking. She's like, you know,
- 22:58Speaker 1: talking about Carolina. Why was she's delivering it with such
- 23:01Speaker 1: a joy and such pride. I don't know, I really
- 23:05Speaker 1: that was That was weird, and I think that's gonna
- 23:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna think about this a lot when it comes
- 23:09Speaker 1: to Juliana in the future, especially next week when she
- 23:12Speaker 1: looks to get the one on one.
- 23:14Speaker 4: I think she just really thought she was right.
- 23:16Speaker 5: I think she really wanted to tell her side of
- 23:18Speaker 5: the story because she didn't get to. She had to
- 23:21Speaker 5: wait like two days, right, because the group day ended
- 23:23Speaker 5: so abruptly.
- 23:25Speaker 1: She had to wait two days because the group Oh
- 23:27Speaker 1: that's right, Yes, because she actually I was talking about
- 23:29Speaker 1: this before. This is actually the top of the episode
- 23:32Speaker 1: that he talks to Juliana from her perspective.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I got that.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Next step, Yeah, he's talking to her at the top
- 23:39Speaker 1: of this nurse cocktail party party. Yeah, all right, So
- 23:55Speaker 1: this is when Grant says that Carolina the situations and
- 23:59Speaker 1: bothering him a lot. He's saying he doesn't know how
- 24:01Speaker 1: he feels about Carolina, and it's concerning after what Juliana
- 24:07Speaker 1: has told him. So then he pulls Carolina aside and
- 24:11Speaker 1: says that it's been hurting him to hear that she's
- 24:15Speaker 1: questioning this, this whole thing, that he's developed.
- 24:17Speaker 2: A spot a soft spot for her after.
- 24:20Speaker 1: They're one on one, because you know, she revealed about
- 24:22Speaker 1: the fact that she has epilepsy, and he said that
- 24:25Speaker 1: he wanted to take care of her, really really sweet,
- 24:29Speaker 1: and then she said, it's very frustrating to hear all this.
- 24:32Speaker 1: She says that it's more normal to have doubts and
- 24:36Speaker 1: questions after this is.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Such a good point.
- 24:40Speaker 1: It's more normal to have doubts and questions about somebody
- 24:43Speaker 1: that I went on a first date with than to
- 24:45Speaker 1: just be like, hey, I'm going to marry him tomorrow,
- 24:48Speaker 1: And I'm like, yes, Carolina exactly.
- 24:52Speaker 4: She's speaking facts.
- 24:53Speaker 1: It's always the person that brings realism to the show
- 24:57Speaker 1: that gets villainized.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Right.
- 25:00Speaker 5: Well, it'll be interesting if Carolina makes it to hometowns too,
- 25:04Speaker 5: and then that becomes a conversation with her family.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yes, and it probably will, because it's always a quite
- 25:11Speaker 1: The family's always like this process seems kind of weird.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Isn't it weird to like get engaged to somebody you've
- 25:17Speaker 2: got on two.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Dates with and you know, I'm sure they're just gonna
- 25:21Speaker 1: echo her feelings. And then Grant says that it's unfair
- 25:27Speaker 1: if he goes into a date and doesn't give one
- 25:29Speaker 1: hundred percent of himself. Carolina says she doesn't have a
- 25:32Speaker 1: lot of hope going to tonight. She feels defeated, and
- 25:35Speaker 1: then we have this moment between Dina and Carolina where
- 25:39Speaker 1: Dina says that she knows that she's being misunderstood. Dina's
- 25:44Speaker 1: crying on behalf of Carolina. She's saying, I see you,
- 25:47Speaker 1: I see you, and they have this hug and you've
- 25:50Speaker 1: if you've been like watching really carefully, you can see
- 25:52Speaker 1: that the two of them do have this friendship throughout
- 25:55Speaker 1: the house.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I think it's gonna.
- 25:57Speaker 1: End next week because Dina has this moment with Carolina
- 26:01Speaker 1: by the stairs and she's like, ah, if you're gonna
- 26:03Speaker 1: go see Grant one more time, like you're out of
- 26:05Speaker 1: your mind.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I'm the f I'm crazy. I'm just crazy. Yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 1: So I think their friendship is going to end. But
- 26:13Speaker 1: I do think this is a sweet supportive moment for Dina,
- 26:17Speaker 1: and she is seeing what we see the girl was.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I can't get over the fact the girl was told
- 26:25Speaker 1: last week that he was thinking of someone else's dirty
- 26:29Speaker 1: dance while dirty dancing with her, that was.
- 26:32Speaker 2: An appropriate time to have alone time.
- 26:36Speaker 1: She is getting from what I got. I know it's
- 26:40Speaker 1: I just have to keep reiterating from what we're seeing.
- 26:42Speaker 1: I think she's getting the shit end of the stick.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I think the girls are being overly dramatic. I think
- 26:47Speaker 1: they needed to come up with a villain, so they're
- 26:49Speaker 1: coming up with where they're coming up with Carolina. So
- 26:53Speaker 1: I'm glad to see her getting a little support in
- 26:55Speaker 1: the moment from Dina.
- 26:57Speaker 5: It's definitely one of It's a good moment because it's
- 26:59Speaker 5: nice that someone has Carolina's back. So it's not the
- 27:03Speaker 5: entire house against her. So it was a nice moment
- 27:06Speaker 5: for Dina. But if Carolina really burns Dina next week,
- 27:10Speaker 5: like we're seeing the coming attractions, I mean, that's her
- 27:12Speaker 5: burning her last bridge, and then she's gonna have no
- 27:14Speaker 5: one left but Grant, and he's probably gonna sent her
- 27:17Speaker 5: home on an island, and then she's gonna have to
- 27:19Speaker 5: confront all these girls that the women sell all and
- 27:21Speaker 5: that'll be tough for her as well. So I'm rooting
- 27:24Speaker 5: for Carolina. I think maybe where she misstepped, like I
- 27:27Speaker 5: said earlier, is just by oversharing and maybe being a
- 27:30Speaker 5: little too emotional at times. Other than that, like she's
- 27:34Speaker 5: had a lot up against her.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Yes, we will.
- 27:39Speaker 1: I will continue to give Dina the I mean I
- 27:41Speaker 1: will continue to give Carolina the benefit of the doubt
- 27:45Speaker 1: until Dina doesn't. I feel like I am team Dina
- 27:48Speaker 1: because she has her head on straight.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Now.
- 27:52Speaker 2: The craziest part of the entire.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Episode to me is Rose and Carolina, because she goes,
- 28:01Speaker 1: I confided in you, and then you use that information
- 28:06Speaker 1: against me. Your actions set my relationship back. You sabotaged me,
- 28:11Speaker 1: you did mean dirty, you backstabbed me, it was nutty.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I was like, Wow, let's pull back for a minute.
- 28:19Speaker 1: You told someone, Hey, the guy that we're dating was
- 28:26Speaker 1: thinking about me when you were straddling him.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Okay, and you think.
- 28:32Speaker 1: That was an okay thing to say out loud to
- 28:36Speaker 1: the person. And now you're gonna make her seem like
- 28:40Speaker 1: the bad guy for wanting clarity. She spiral was this
- 28:45Speaker 1: crazy bachelor stuff. The way she looked at her, you
- 28:48Speaker 1: did me dirty?
- 28:50Speaker 2: Are you are out of your mind? Okay?
- 28:53Speaker 5: Well it was because it seemed like her and Grants
- 28:55Speaker 5: threw things over. They had a conversation about moving on.
- 28:58Speaker 5: Grant still kept her last week, even though he was
- 29:00Speaker 5: mad at her. I thought they would have closure on
- 29:02Speaker 5: the conversation this week and maybe clarify what was said
- 29:05Speaker 5: and what wasn't.
- 29:05Speaker 4: They really didn't dive into it.
- 29:07Speaker 5: So that's kind of frustrating because he did say it,
- 29:11Speaker 5: so Rose ended up getting.
- 29:13Speaker 1: So you think that you think that he said it,
- 29:15Speaker 1: So this is this is this is a great conversation
- 29:18Speaker 1: right here.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Did he say it or did he or did she
- 29:21Speaker 2: misinterpret it?
- 29:22Speaker 4: Well? I guess it's both.
- 29:23Speaker 5: There is a clip going around where basically he said
- 29:28Speaker 5: that he never said Carolina's name. He just said he
- 29:31Speaker 5: was thinking about her while he was dancing, so it
- 29:34Speaker 5: was more of a general statement, and it seemed like
- 29:37Speaker 5: no one ever inserted Carolina's name into there except for
- 29:40Speaker 5: Carolina or Rose. That's that's why the off camera conversation
- 29:43Speaker 5: is confusing.
- 29:44Speaker 1: So I'm wondering if, like a lot of the missing
- 29:47Speaker 1: puzzle pieces over the season, has just been like them
- 29:51Speaker 1: letting these girls chat unmiked too often, too many bathroom conversations,
- 29:57Speaker 1: too many, too many bunk conversations. Like you said, we
- 30:03Speaker 1: used to be miked if we were chatty at all,
- 30:06Speaker 1: they were like they came to us with our mics.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I wonder if they don't have a lot. But the
- 30:13Speaker 1: weird thing is, I don't know. I think there's booms
- 30:17Speaker 1: in every room where, Like they can at least show
- 30:20Speaker 1: the footage from the top and like put close captioning
- 30:25Speaker 1: underneath it, Like I would love some close captioning, like
- 30:28Speaker 1: hidden camera stuff.
- 30:30Speaker 4: I don't think they're doing that anymore.
- 30:31Speaker 5: They haven't done that this season, or maybe they've changed
- 30:34Speaker 5: the rules recently. I don't think they're being as basis
- 30:37Speaker 5: with the filming. They don't show people in the bedrooms anymore.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Yeah, the bedroom conversations are key.
- 30:43Speaker 5: They're gone, and I think that's what's missing in the
- 30:46Speaker 5: Rose and Carolina context and why we don't really know
- 30:48Speaker 5: who is right until we get to the women tell
- 30:50Speaker 5: all and see them hash it out.
- 30:52Speaker 1: This happened last season too, with Joey's season. It was like, well,
- 30:54Speaker 1: what was actually said? We need the footage, And I
- 30:58Speaker 1: would always argue that, like they had the footage, they
- 31:01Speaker 1: just didn't want to give it to us because they
- 31:03Speaker 1: wanted the narrative that they wanted to go with, right.
- 31:06Speaker 5: But I think with Rose it's like, I think her
- 31:09Speaker 5: relationship was set back because her and Grant were not
- 31:11Speaker 5: able to overcome that. And maybe you can partially blame Carolina,
- 31:16Speaker 5: but like, what is she supposed to do after what
- 31:19Speaker 5: you said to her off camera? Like, of course she's
- 31:20Speaker 5: going to bring it up. So Rose kind of did
- 31:22Speaker 5: this to herself and she's blaming Carolina for her demise,
- 31:26Speaker 5: and she spiraled and she went home and maybe she
- 31:29Speaker 5: should have had a conversation with Grant about it, but
- 31:31Speaker 5: it seemed like she just started crying and just needed
- 31:33Speaker 5: to leave. Do you think there was more to that
- 31:34Speaker 5: that was cut of her meltdown.
- 31:36Speaker 2: I actually don't.
- 31:37Speaker 1: I think she just like probably knew it wasn't going
- 31:40Speaker 1: to be her. She felt so behind. She's like, there's
- 31:43Speaker 1: no catching up. I would rather take the power and
- 31:46Speaker 1: be the one to leave than get dumped at the
- 31:48Speaker 1: rose ceremony. And I understand that dumping at a rose
- 31:52Speaker 1: ceremony is like the ultimate demoralization.
- 31:56Speaker 5: Really, I feel like I would want to like get
- 31:58Speaker 5: dumped at a rose ceremony because it's like part of
- 32:01Speaker 5: the show, Like it's like you have to commit to it.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I'm all of my four seasons, I never left at
- 32:07Speaker 1: a rose ceremony. I did technically in season three of
- 32:10Speaker 1: Bachelor in Paradise, and then I.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Came back right. So I don't know.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I think that a lot of it, like you know,
- 32:20Speaker 1: how you want to be the person to break up
- 32:22Speaker 1: with somebody when you feel like the relationships on the Fritz,
- 32:27Speaker 1: there's just a way to bring back your power. So
- 32:28Speaker 1: I don't know, I think that I don't think there
- 32:31Speaker 1: was much more to it other than the fact that
- 32:33Speaker 1: she was feeling very behind. But you know what, it
- 32:36Speaker 1: was funny I was thinking when she was like, I.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Just want to go home. I just want to go home.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I was like, of all my seasons, I never said
- 32:42Speaker 1: I wanted to go home.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I was like, I want to be here.
- 32:45Speaker 1: There was a time on Bachelor in Paradise three where
- 32:48Speaker 1: I was like I should go home. Nobody why I
- 32:51Speaker 1: think I should probably go home. That's different then I
- 32:53Speaker 1: want to go home. I was like, I made a
- 32:57Speaker 1: huge mistake in coming here anyway.
- 33:00Speaker 2: All right now, I'm just reminiscing.
- 33:03Speaker 1: All right, well next week we see and like you said, yes, Parisa,
- 33:08Speaker 1: Natalie go home to me. That's not a shocking thing
- 33:11Speaker 1: at all. Parisa in the Rocks, she probably had some
- 33:14Speaker 1: hope because he gave her a gift that she was
- 33:16Speaker 1: going to stick around.
- 33:17Speaker 4: I'm sad for her. I wanted her one more week.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Really, she's so ridiculous. But I'm sure she's not as
- 33:23Speaker 1: ridiculous in her life. You know, they just made her
- 33:26Speaker 1: like the silly character.
- 33:28Speaker 4: She was a little silly. I was sure the power point,
- 33:31Speaker 4: the cat.
- 33:32Speaker 1: The power point was definitely her silliest of things.
- 33:36Speaker 5: Just her fashion. She was just always different. Natalie was
- 33:40Speaker 5: a little boring from the beginning, and she just did
- 33:42Speaker 5: not do anything.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Natalie had the kid with the kids going on, you
- 33:48Speaker 1: know her. Her being so good with the kids at
- 33:52Speaker 1: the basketball game was her standout moment.
- 33:53Speaker 5: I think got it. Natalie and Dina looked alike in
- 33:57Speaker 5: my opinion.
- 33:58Speaker 2: I see that. I see that.
- 34:00Speaker 1: So next week they're going to Scotland, Julianna is going
- 34:02Speaker 1: to have her one on one and uh, we have
- 34:06Speaker 1: the moment with Carolina on the steps where she said,
- 34:10Speaker 1: what was the words that you said?
- 34:11Speaker 5: You got it right, you did I'm the villain. What
- 34:15Speaker 5: Dina said, you did me dirty? I Uh what Dina
- 34:20Speaker 5: said to Carolina, if you're going to.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Guess I'm I guess I'm crazy.
- 34:26Speaker 5: Yeah, call me crazed or call me insane. Yeah, because
- 34:30Speaker 5: she's going to talk to Grant again. And that's why
- 34:32Speaker 5: the girls are so mad at Carolina, because she just
- 34:34Speaker 5: monopolizes all the time.
- 34:35Speaker 4: She just steals him the most.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Yeah, she's definitely gonna go home next week.
- 34:40Speaker 1: I don't think it'll be at a rose ceremony. I
- 34:41Speaker 1: think they're going to have some conversation and she's gonna
- 34:43Speaker 1: slip out the back door.
- 34:44Speaker 4: It's gonna be wild.
