- 0:26Welcome to the show.
- 0:33The original Milli Mills.
- 0:46Everyone, welcome to the show.
- 0:47This is a brand new show that everybody's been talking about.
- 0:50We're not exactly brand new.
- 0:51We've been around almost three years.
- 0:53We're just bringing it in the house where we spotlight musicians,
- 0:57entertainers, artists and leaders.
- 0:59I'm your host Milli Mills.
- 1:00We have a wonderful show all the way from Indianapolis, Indiana.
- 1:04Very talented young man.
- 1:06We could go on and on talking about all his achievements.
- 1:09We're talking about Daryl Miller.
- 1:12And of course he has a new cast with him.
- 1:14The Power Rangers D-Morft.
- 1:17Yeah, the film members are here with us.
- 1:20Everybody give a warm welcome.
- 1:24Hi, welcome back man.
- 1:26Hi, thank you so much.
- 1:28It's great to be back.
- 1:29I know.
- 1:30I mean, it seemed like it was just yesterday.
- 1:32I remember in 2021 you were on the show and so much has happened since then.
- 1:37Before we get started though, we're going to introduce, you know,
- 1:40of course the film, one of the cast members.
- 1:43So we have Barkley on the set with us.
- 1:47And Barkley, give a shout out to your hometown and people who are watching.
- 1:52Hey, hey, of course I'm Barkley.
- 1:55I play the Go Granger Brian.
- 1:57And shout out to Indianapolis.
- 2:00All right.
- 2:02What high school did you attend Barkley?
- 2:04North Central.
- 2:05North Central.
- 2:06What was the mascot?
- 2:08I don't remember.
- 2:10You don't remember?
- 2:11I wasn't into sports.
- 2:14Yeah, I get it.
- 2:16And Darrell, what school did you come from?
- 2:19High school?
- 2:20North Central.
- 2:21North Central.
- 2:22What about your mascot?
- 2:24I had to go with the Panthers.
- 2:33So this project, oh my God, I'm excited about it because like I said,
- 2:39you were here almost two years ago and now you're back with a brand new project
- 2:44under development.
- 2:46You're also doing the Paragenics, right?
- 2:50Yes, I got some.
- 2:53Yeah, Bradford Bank.
- 2:55Yes, we are working on that.
- 3:00And we're working on a big film, a bigger budget for that.
- 3:05So yeah, that's it works.
- 3:07Awesome, awesome.
- 3:09I'd like to welcome Bradford Norris to the show.
- 3:12Thank you, Bradford, for stopping by.
- 3:15Yes, how we doing?
- 3:17Doing just great, yes.
- 3:19And you're one of the film members, you're one of the actors and you portray the role of Rilo.
- 3:25That's me.
- 3:26That's me.
- 3:27All right.
- 3:28And you originally from, you told us earlier before we got started, Bowling Green, Kentucky, correct?
- 3:32Bowling Green, Kentucky, home of the Corvette.
- 3:35All right, woo hoo.
- 3:38Awesome.
- 3:39This is beautiful to have you all here.
- 3:41Now, Daryl, you're the man with the plan behind everything.
- 3:45Tell us how you came up with the whole concept for Power Rangers, the Morphed.
- 3:51Oh, so this project, Brad, came first in 2014.
- 3:56Me and my brother Christian, he's my center for time.
- 3:59We're going to do a proper project.
- 4:01But at that time, funny that it ain't really profitable for first.
- 4:06So we put it all in, you know, with your passing, Frank, who I'm a comic con, I feel like it was right for me to bring this project to life.
- 4:17You know, as a dedicated tribute.
- 4:19So this is just pure out of love.
- 4:21I'm a huge Power Ranger back then.
- 4:24There's all the boring, bring Ranger, all the great Rangers, Jason, my favorite Power Rangers.
- 4:29So as a dedicated film and family, it just had to be the matter of what.
- 4:35My money, my resources to say, you know, project, love and respect.
- 4:43And I got so busy, active minds that I know personally or just met, like, we're going to break this project.
- 4:53Like, it's come together.
- 4:56Amen.
- 4:57Amazing.
- 4:58Daryl, you're one of the hardest working young men I've seen in a while.
- 5:02You're welcome.
- 5:04And I saw a clip where you guys were recognized last year on the news in your area.
- 5:09Can we play a little snippet of that?
- 5:11Yes.
- 5:12Yeah, I want everyone that's watching to see what we're talking about and why we're excited to have you back on this show.
- 5:19Our two all-Indian artists hope to spread positive messages as they entertain the world with their music.
- 5:25Yeah, together they plan to tour college campuses across the country, bringing live shows to new audiences.
- 5:30Please welcome Daryl Miller and Keanu Flowers.
- 5:34Thank you guys for coming.
- 5:36Okay, so tell us about this sound that you have.
- 5:39Well, it's about, it's live energy, you know, we like to bring positive messages and stuff like that because we believe that's what is needed.
- 5:47Where our kids and adults, something they can all listen to together and I feel like, oh, the kids can't listen to and that's what we think.
- 5:54The lyrics is very important and you don't have to be explicit all the time in your music, you know.
- 6:00Yeah, that's awesome.
- 6:01Now you all have been known to sort of dabble in various genres.
- 6:05And that actually stands beyond music. You're making movies too.
- 6:09Yes, we are.
- 6:10Tell us about that.
- 6:11Well, we made our own superhero project called Perry Genies with our brother also, Christian Griffith.
- 6:18It's about superheroes that get superpowers in Indiana. We all filmed in Indiana with talented actors and actresses.
- 6:25About 2019, we won five awards recently.
- 6:29So we want to continue building that if we can, you know, it's on YouTube, everybody can watch it. Season one and part of season two.
- 6:36Well, I'm a multi-talented athlete.
- 6:39I have Renaissance people.
- 6:41Yeah.
- 6:45And that's what we're talking about. That's why you guys are on the show.
- 6:49So that the pair of Genies, was that kind of like what led to the Power Rangers?
- 6:55Well, it gave me confidence myself as a filmmaker. I still knew the film.
- 7:01I'm still learning. I act like I'm professional by any means or it still has to learn.
- 7:08Because I'm a hip-hop artist, so being a filmmaker, I still have to be professional.
- 7:14I brought the market here. He helped me with my bridge, the flow of it.
- 7:21So, Perry Genies gave me confidence. I can do other projects.
- 7:26I can show my creative do's and I think I got to win five awards with it.
- 7:32So it's like, it built my confidence to know I can build a film where we do this because it worked for my team.
- 7:38I want to be where I am. So I always dedicate anything I do to it.
- 7:42It's not just because of me. I'm just a piece to it, but it's my team from the writers, from the actors,
- 7:51from the cinematographers, the lighting, it's not all on me. I'm just a piece of it.
- 7:58You're just a piece of it. Yeah, but you are a very vital piece.
- 8:04Very vital piece to it. Okay.
- 8:07So do you have help like an agency to help you cast your actors for your film?
- 8:13No. So what I do, we do on Facebook.
- 8:20So a lot of times I mostly use the same people I worked with years before because I know that I create characters that I know do well in.
- 8:30And then sometimes I'll still have somebody new.
- 8:33Hey, I can work with the person today. You got to have the look that I'm looking for.
- 8:39Let me ask them not to ask for it. They might be like, I'm interested in the project and see if I make a character for them.
- 8:48If they wasn't already off-processed. I love to get everybody, not somebody to look for a stick to look.
- 8:55Most of the time, go by what did they bring or what they bring in.
- 9:01And I'll create something for you because that's why I leave.
- 9:05Really, I say no to people. I just create something for them because I feel like it's a brain test that I put you in.
- 9:16So I'm saying, how destroying the story or taking anything away. I think I'm very great.
- 9:24Yes, I agree. You are. Yes, you are.
- 9:28So now in this movie here, when you got all your film, your actors, your cast members together, a total, how many did you end up having altogether for this film?
- 9:42The cast, I think like 15 to 20 of us and a couple of people like the cast sometimes add characters to the script.
- 9:53They be like, I always wanted to be in this power. I just had to get the role.
- 9:57I'll put the scenes and the way out. The scenes are put too much on my channel.
- 10:03I'll put greater scenes for you or I can see if I can add you to something that's already created without anything away.
- 10:12So if I can work, then I can work. Or if I need to create a script like that.
- 10:18So it just depends on what's so far. Every cast I've acted in, we looked at it perfectly.
- 10:27We got some cast members, they can be on here, but they amazing female.
- 10:35That's wonderful. We're going to talk to Bradford here for a moment.
- 10:40Brad, tell us a little bit about your role, the character that you portrayed.
- 10:45So I'm playing Rallo, the blue space ranger.
- 10:53Rallo's, the blue space ranger was one of the more popular characters in the Power Rangers series.
- 11:05The Power Rangers in space, that was one of the most popular shows.
- 11:14I wasn't a real, to be honest, I wasn't a big Power Rangers fan.
- 11:20I can remember as a kid, my parents took me to a live Power Rangers show at Universal Studios in California.
- 11:32And I got to meet the original Power Rangers.
- 11:36That was a big thing when I was a kid.
- 11:41About how old were you when that happened?
- 11:44I was probably 6th grade maybe.
- 11:496th grade, yeah. That's what I was going to say.
- 11:516th or 7th maybe?
- 11:53Yeah, that was a great experience. I know you'll never forget.
- 11:57No.
- 11:59So when you got the opportunity to get this role in this type of movie, how does that feel for you?
- 12:07Like we've talked about before, I love doing the action scenes.
- 12:13I love doing these type of films with the staff or the fighting scenes.
- 12:20That's my way to go. I love doing that stuff.
- 12:23And it just happened to be a Power Rangers film so I was like, get me in there.
- 12:28Yeah, get you in there.
- 12:31And besides acting, you also do music videos.
- 12:36Yeah, well I'm strictly just an actor but I do music videos.
- 12:41I do commercials, films and TV.
- 12:47Oh, busy. Another busy man on the scene.
- 12:51Now we're going to jump over and talk to Barkley here for a minute.
- 12:55Barkley, tell us what this whole experience, tell us a little bit about the character and then tell us a little bit about this whole experience and what it has done for you.
- 13:03Yeah, definitely. So I play the Gold Ranger, which is his name is Brian and Candela.
- 13:10He's a cop, you know, and without giving too much away of this, the script is very movie-convict.
- 13:16I'm a cop and the opportunity comes up and I'm not sure if I'm ready for it but he steps up and he's like, you know, I gotta do it because if I don't, who will?
- 13:29So the experience is great. Working with D'Rail too is great.
- 13:35Because like he said earlier, I help him with writing some of the script or just helping him editing and formatting.
- 13:43I help them with his own videos as well, edited his music video.
- 13:49And then I would go out with him with both the cameraman and the crew.
- 13:55Because with the money issues that, so I help out. I was like, you know what, me and you would be a two man crew with Chris.
- 14:02I hold the camera, I hold the lights, they take turns. Sometimes he'll have to be in front of the camera.
- 14:09So I'll do the camera and then vice versa.
- 14:11When we did a trailer for a little test teaser more like for the Power Rangers between him.
- 14:19I'm not really much of an editor. I'll take it up. Let's do it.
- 14:24All right. And I do have that clip here. So we're going to take a look at that. The trailer real fast. Here we go.
- 15:54You
- 16:24I think we're going to have
- 16:34amazing that is a lot of work I mean just that scene just that scene right there how long did it take
- 16:44it took us about a week or two the filming itself I think we we know we spent the day out it was Eagle Creek
- 16:57part or one of the part yeah and then we just kind of just going through and just telling me like I
- 17:05was trying to do this and then I was trying to do this and yeah like I said that was my my first time trying
- 17:12visual effects at that scale I had to learn a lot right there that taught me a lot.
- 17:20Now the rail just I know it's just a little bit your mic is just a little choppy I'm not sure
- 17:26if at times just sometimes can't hear you can you hear me now there you go that's smooth and clear right there
- 17:35yeah we we want to make sure we hear every word you saying so yeah that was very good that's good so now
- 17:42a person like me I've never really been a big Power Rangers fan so kind of without spilling the beans can
- 17:49you kind of like tell us like I guess maybe kind of like the concept or what what we kind of can expect
- 17:57without spoilers yeah so basically what's going on in me is coming and wants to take care of it with
- 18:17the power and these heroes a lot of them are the last so now different Rangers and CRE together and fight
- 18:30out and some of them just get powered and so they got to use them figure out what's going on and had to stop this
- 18:43okay okay all right I think I got I think I got most of it it was a little choppy did you want to add something
- 18:51Bradford did you want to add something you know the original fans they're going to be in a tree because
- 18:59you know you're going to see a lot of nostalgia Power Rangers that you know that you grew up with over the years
- 19:06a lot of them are going to come in and you're going to be like okay I remember that from this show or I remember from that show
- 19:13so you know like it's going to be a nostalgia thing because you're going to see a lot of the Power Rangers that you grew up with
- 19:21that you grew up on yeah and the costumes you guys I know you had to pay for all that and I mean who does the costumes
- 19:29who's making those well just like different you know like different companies are making the costume
- 19:37force is just not like you can't just go to somebody say hey you think you can put me a Power Ranger costume together
- 19:43I know I know so like you've got to you got to talk to somebody that knows what they're doing yeah I know that's why I didn't know
- 19:52you know you guys had a particular company or agency that you're working with on your costumes
- 19:58currently there's a couple of it I know some of the customers have been ordered from and then the Durell ordered from different ones
- 20:06right now we're just filling out what's where we can get them at the best price and that gets that has the good quality
- 20:14we're not working with one specific at this moment we're hoping in the future we can get like that relationship going with props
- 20:24and makers and things like that
- 20:27what's the day like for you guys on the set I know I mean you're constantly running and you're busy
- 20:34what's your communication style I know you have to have you know in order for it to be success your communication has to be very effective
- 20:42can I explain to us how that works
- 20:46mostly right now we're communicating to messenger we have a group that we're myself, Brad and everyone else from the cast members
- 21:00we'll be talking through there and any questions anybody asked anyone who you know is curious about something
- 21:08but Durell so far he's got a date coming up in the future where we're all going to meet up and get to know each other better
- 21:16and work with each other and go over script rehearsals and things like that so right now we're still on that voting stage
- 21:24where we're all getting to know each other better and see how we can work together you know because we gotta show that chemistry on camera too
- 21:32it's so important and it's so important that chemistry is
- 21:38so Durell I mean you guys work long hours so how does it affect your personal life do you have a personal life
- 21:48really I don't really have one but it really has me focused like this particular like project I had to be so on it because it's not just about everybody
- 22:06the whole team just that the you know what we doing in stores you know I mean not just for the film but like a trip and we
- 22:16we lost him we lost him yeah he'll be back did you either one of you Berkeley or there he is yeah yeah I'm sorry it's just connection sorry about that
- 22:28but yeah we want to show what we can do so I had to put my mindset and I studied other fan made Power Rangers films so I'm able to see how we can be different
- 22:40but still show that Power Rangers love and feel from the 90s from that you would say what you want to cut easy and stuff so I still want to add that to it but be created for not
- 22:52yes yes and when it comes to editing I mean I know you a lot of this is new for you but can you kind of share with us the editing style or some of the software that you guys may use
- 23:06that's Berkeley do yeah definitely so I have currently working on free software at the moment of using the Vinci result I'm using also blender of a lot of the like on the film that on the
- 23:24the taser that we just did the monsters he was actually a 3D monster that I animated in blender and then exported into the Vinci and then put everything like the color gray the you know cut the scenes the music and
- 23:38all that so I spent quite a bit of time here because I have a I have myself a computer that works on just specifically editing so I say I'm just a lot of some of the rendering takes a while to where I have to
- 23:55just sit for like an hour that I have a top notch computer but it gets the job done for now you know we got started somewhere right so after this movie depending on where it takes you guys
- 24:14I'm going to ask each one I'll give each one of your chance to answer I mean where do you see yourself you know going from here like maybe you know five years down the road
- 24:23I'll let Barton know I go that
- 24:27okay
- 24:29oh yeah
- 24:31personally I'm since working with the rail I went ahead and started my own company as well as team this entertainment and if you saw it on the teaser at the end right after his
- 24:42I just see myself continuing to work and making films working a lot with the rail for sure because I got my own projects that I'm starting out I have started and that's going to have the rail he's already got a part of me I already said that
- 24:58I was like hey you want to come in he's like yeah I'm ready alright and hopefully built from there as well so five years at least gotta have like three films out and maybe two web series
- 25:13I was reminding
- 25:16yeah and that's very time consuming so yeah I know that's a lot that's a lot what about you Bradford
- 25:24well you know I've been doing this for about five years and anybody that knows from my content man I've been blessed because I've been to the bottom I've been to the middle and I've been all the way to the top
- 25:39and you know I don't really have an end goal I just keep working
- 25:50doing what you love just doing what I love keep working and like I know that any day that this could be this could be my last day or you know this could stop at any time
- 26:02yeah but I just you know I just wake up every day and stay positive and people send stuff my way and just keep working
- 26:12yeah that's good I like your outlook that's really good who are some things I know you do music videos who are some have you worked with some big names
- 26:23let's see the rock will Smith wow Ryan Reynolds Gal Gadette the boosty little boozy we actually got a film coming out soon
- 26:44uh Tyler Perry been on Tyler Perry's the oval for four seasons a lot of big names yeah you kind of remind me of the guy who portrayed the president a little bit on the oval
- 27:03I actually got a picture with it I actually got a picture with him and we do we do look a lot alike I played his I played his secret service yes okay yeah I watched it um I didn't watch it much last year but in 2021 I watched it on BET quite a bit
- 27:22and I'm like you guys could pass for brothers almost yeah he's a little bit older than me but we definitely got that similar look you sure do and I mean that as a compliment yes thank you thank you you're welcome you're welcome
- 27:39DeRail I know you rap as well as doing the film so I mean at this moment so you're rapping is kind of taking a backseat while you do the film yes I tried to juggle both like because I got a record label
- 27:54so I'm making music currently with my artist this guy named by me Kat did Jane last year and got best friend with baby babe so I've been working on since with them our roster is there
- 28:10I labeled you know artists so I've been working with Kat I come up with this new sound and my style and also I'm doing a comic comic I was playing with Kyrae things like that so I'm just being moving as much as I can
- 28:30yeah and as we said before we came on live here you know you keep working and putting your hands to something yeah eventually yeah yeah you're gonna read what you saw you're gonna cash in on all of that hard work so
- 28:47I got to say it's a thing where like you got the right thing that everybody contributed and makes everybody come true everybody can feel great about it they always give respect to them because they make my job people that make what I do so much fun when everybody
- 29:05with a great heart and energy people want to push for this pain go we all win so that's why people yeah you might you might think but I'm taking my team to so though any project I know is for people with me that correct
- 29:24so it's from music to my lyrics anything I do is myself and I gotta appreciate them for helping me through my friends become a better artist a better director producer writer is because of them is why I'm in the future gonna be bigger
- 29:47exactly and I like how you speak in that that's that's great if you guys missed it you just tuning in this is bringing in the house and of course we have Mr. Durell Miller out of Indianapolis he's talking about his new film Power Rangers
- 30:02D. Morph and he's got a few of his cast members on the set with us Mr. Bradford Norris and of course Barkley time has come to an end I was gonna say you guys have something quick you can say there's a quick word of inspiration will start with Barkley something you want to leave behind
- 30:20I don't think I could say you're looking to achieve something in life just do it don't even wait for it just do it for a right time what about you Bradford you know like I said I've only been about five years into this
- 30:39one day I just woke up and I just saw a little casting for for a part in a show called Nashville the day I started it's never stopped since all you got to do sometimes is just put your feet on the ground and start running and then it never stops so just if you got that drive just use it and keep going
- 31:01and Durell wrap it up for us teamwork makes the dream work makes the dream work exactly thank you guys again for stopping by I'm so excited can't wait to see your film I'll be the first you know with Durell send me an info once you release it
- 31:20what's the anticipated release date I want to say here with the special thanks I want to say bring spring or summer of 2024 you guys heard it right here on bring it in the house we'll see you next time thank you guys again we love you
- 31:50you
