A rabid cat in Loudoun County, Virginia, has sparked a public health alert after testing positive for rabies — and she was mama to five kittens. The cat, a brown tabby with white paws and face, showed no symptoms until after being picked up on June 18th, and was euthanized on June 26th. Now, the kittens are quarantined at the vet, and at least one person who had contact with the cat is being monitored — because rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms appear.
