- 0:00Speaker 1: Craig Way alongside the producer who's feeling better, Cameron Parker, say,
- 0:03Speaker 1: he's about seventy five percent today coming off that flew
- 0:06Speaker 1: bug and all that stuff that knocked him down. And
- 0:09Speaker 1: did you how long did you actually stay in bed?
- 0:13Speaker 2: Oh, I've I've slept more in the last four days,
- 0:17Speaker 2: and I probably slept all year, and which is good
- 0:20Speaker 2: because I need to catch up on some sleep, that's
- 0:22Speaker 2: for sure. Yeah, Yeah, that's for sure because our travel
- 0:24Speaker 2: schedules the last month have been insane and it's going
- 0:28Speaker 2: to be even more crazy just looking at the month
- 0:30Speaker 2: of January, especially if Texas continues to extend their college
- 0:34Speaker 2: football postseason run, which we hope they do. Yeah, but
- 0:38Speaker 2: they don't really take into account our sleep schedules.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Craig, as you know, so no, no, that that isn't
- 0:43Speaker 1: part of the equation there, And you're right, it's it's
- 0:45Speaker 1: a little bit difficult, but we enjoy being around it
- 0:50Speaker 1: and involved in it, and so we'll just continue to
- 0:55Speaker 1: knock it out as best we can.
- 0:56Speaker 3: We're here tomorrow Sunday.
- 0:58Speaker 1: There's a double header at Moody Center Men's basketball at
- 1:02Speaker 1: eleven o'clock Sunday morning. Texas to take on Northwestern State
- 1:07Speaker 1: of Louisiana, and then at three o'clock the Texas women
- 1:11Speaker 1: are in action against ut Rio Grand Valley, and you
- 1:15Speaker 1: can hear the men's game right here on AM thirteen
- 1:20Speaker 1: under the Zone beginning at ten thirty Sunday morning, and
- 1:24Speaker 1: you can hear the women's game beginning at two forty five,
- 1:27Speaker 1: with coverage in the tip off at three on one
- 1:29Speaker 1: oh three point one FM, Austin's eighty station. When that's done,
- 1:31Speaker 1: and wan to zip over the airport, catch flight to Atlanta,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and get into Atlanta late Sunday night. Monday morning is
- 1:39Speaker 1: a very quick turnaround because Monday morning we've got a
- 1:42Speaker 1: there's a media day opportunity with Texas players on Monday,
- 1:47Speaker 1: so there's that on Monday, and then Tuesday, the day
- 1:51Speaker 1: before the ball game, is actually a holiday for us.
- 1:53Speaker 1: We won't be on the air, but I'll still be
- 1:55Speaker 1: cranking it out there with a final coaches press conference,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and you folks will hear some of the audio of
- 2:01Speaker 1: that on Wednesday morning as Cameron and Mike Hardball Hard
- 2:09Speaker 1: and Mark Henry bring you Long Horns Game Day on
- 2:13Speaker 1: Wednesday morning, and that's gonna start what nine o'clock in
- 2:16Speaker 1: the morning. You guys are starting now, Yeah, nine am.
- 2:18Speaker 2: We're still working on our location TBD, so there will
- 2:22Speaker 2: be a location even as early as it is on
- 2:23Speaker 2: New Year's morning.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Wow.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Well, we've had a press we've had a couple of
- 2:27Speaker 2: elevename kickoffs this year, and we've had we have some
- 2:30Speaker 2: great partners that have taken care of us, that have
- 2:32Speaker 2: hosted us for Longhorns game day in Texas football. So
- 2:36Speaker 2: stay tuned to these airwaves, to our social pages, and
- 2:40Speaker 2: we're working up on some special guests as well. So
- 2:43Speaker 2: it's not just gonna be your atypical Longhorns game day show.
- 2:46Speaker 2: We're gonna bring out all the stops, as I'm sure
- 2:49Speaker 2: Steve Sarkejian and Texas well against Arizona State.
- 2:52Speaker 3: So I'm looking forward to it.
- 2:53Speaker 2: And for you and Roger in the Longhorn Radio Network gang,
- 2:57Speaker 2: you're back to where you were a few weeks ago.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah, right back. And by the way, and this is
- 3:04Speaker 1: this is cool. It's just an added thing. I I
- 3:07Speaker 1: want people to know that this is never taken for
- 3:10Speaker 1: granted and always greatly appreciated when people tell me and say, hey,
- 3:16Speaker 1: we turned down the TV sound and turn up.
- 3:18Speaker 3: You guys, you do a great job.
- 3:19Speaker 1: We enjoy the broadcast, blah blah blah, and I thank
- 3:23Speaker 1: them for that, and I'm truly grateful for that. And
- 3:26Speaker 1: the reason why even bring this up is apparently you're
- 3:31Speaker 1: not going to have to You're going to be able
- 3:33Speaker 1: to have both without having to involve.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Sinking it up. The simulcast they're doing that again?
- 3:38Speaker 1: Was it the hometown radio broadcasts of both Texas and
- 3:42Speaker 1: Arizona State. My good friend Tim Healey calls Arizona State
- 3:46Speaker 1: Sun Devils football and who's going to join us in
- 3:48Speaker 1: the program of arm His broadcast SYNCD up to that,
- 3:52Speaker 1: and I think ours is going to be.
- 3:53Speaker 3: It might be on SEC network. I'm not one hundred
- 3:55Speaker 3: percent certain about that.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm guessing it'll be on SEC network, Yes, PN
- 4:00Speaker 2: plus something like that, because they did it last year
- 4:02Speaker 2: a few Texas Washington game. But I think that may
- 4:05Speaker 2: have aired on one of the linear yeah, like eight
- 4:08Speaker 2: or nine or whatever. It's one of those.
- 4:09Speaker 1: But anyway, I just saw an email today about that
- 4:14Speaker 1: that that our broadcast will be available on one of
- 4:17Speaker 1: those platforms there and one of those it's the same
- 4:20Speaker 1: telecast you're getting.
- 4:21Speaker 3: But it'll be our broadcast on it, shoot Craig.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Between that and the Texas basketball games that are being
- 4:27Speaker 2: asimuilcast it on ESPN Plus and SEC Network Plus, you
- 4:31Speaker 2: might need to get some TV money.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Some folks were saying, now, I understand why he's on
- 4:34Speaker 1: the radio, you know that kind of thing. No, I
- 4:37Speaker 1: really appreciate it, and I just wanted to let you
- 4:39Speaker 1: know that that you won't have to work as hard
- 4:41Speaker 1: to do it because they're gonna have it SYNCD up,
- 4:43Speaker 1: just like they did the Sugar Bowl last year. Okay, Now,
- 4:46Speaker 1: I wanted to jump to a couple of NFL things
- 4:48Speaker 1: before we get to the break. Did you see the
- 4:51Speaker 1: story about Teddy Bridgewater Eddy two Gloves.
- 4:54Speaker 3: He's back. He's back. He's back.
- 4:57Speaker 1: When he said, what do you mean he's back, He's
- 4:59Speaker 1: come out of it retirement and he signed with the
- 5:02Speaker 1: Detroit Lions today and they're like, wait minute, They got
- 5:05Speaker 1: Jared Goff, Yes, Jared Goff is the number one guy.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Well got Hendon Hooker too, the guy for Tennessee. Yes,
- 5:10Speaker 1: they do. And Dan Campbell said he is not displeased
- 5:15Speaker 1: or disappointed with Hindon Hooker, but they had an opportunity
- 5:19Speaker 1: to sign Bridgewater, and they did. Here's the real interesting wrinkle.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Who is their backup?
- 5:25Speaker 3: They don't tell me. I just said his name. They
- 5:28Speaker 3: said they weren't disappointed with him. Oh sorry, it must
- 5:30Speaker 3: be the flues Hendon Hooker, the former ten. Yeah. I
- 5:34Speaker 3: understand why they're looking for a backup.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Well, he said, it does not mean they're disappointed with
- 5:39Speaker 1: Hindon Hooker.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah, of course not. But here's the interesting thing.
- 5:46Speaker 1: He's been looking to get back in the Bridgewater has
- 5:49Speaker 1: and of course he's had all the injuries and everything.
- 5:51Speaker 3: So then you say, well, what's he been doing.
- 5:56Speaker 1: He's been coaching his alma monter Miami Northwestern, which is
- 5:59Speaker 1: one of the outstanding high school football programs in the country.
- 6:03Speaker 1: And what did they do last weekend? They did the
- 6:05Speaker 1: same thing the Vandergrift Vipers did. They won the state championship.
- 6:10Speaker 1: So they won a state championship, and now he's signed
- 6:13Speaker 1: with the Lions. Here's his quote. He said, my team
- 6:17Speaker 1: knows that's the plan. We wanted to win a state championship.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And then coach goes back to the league, see what happens,
- 6:25Speaker 1: then comes back in February in the offseason, continue coaching
- 6:27Speaker 1: high school football. We'll see how it plays out. Now,
- 6:30Speaker 1: That's what he told the insiders from NFL Network. He
- 6:34Speaker 1: told them that last week. So there had been several
- 6:39Speaker 1: NFL coaching inquiries about him getting involved in coaching. I
- 6:42Speaker 1: was saying coach, but being involved, but he wanted to
- 6:45Speaker 1: try to win a championship as a player before he
- 6:47Speaker 1: entertained those opportunities. He's thirty two. He did spend last
- 6:52Speaker 1: season as the backup behind Jared Goff. Campbell says he's
- 6:55Speaker 1: been in touch with him for a while. So, yeah,
- 6:59Speaker 1: there's something happening there. So we'll be back on the
- 7:03Speaker 1: roster Lions this week. The Lions have an important game
- 7:08Speaker 1: that next week is the game with Minnesota, the huge,
- 7:12Speaker 1: the huge, huge game they play at San Francisco Monday night. Yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 1: Teddy could start that game there. I think they'd be fine, right,
- 7:20Speaker 1: Hindon Hooker could start that game, He'll be okay.
- 7:23Speaker 2: But still fighting for this number one seed because Minnesota
- 7:26Speaker 2: reviewses to die. Yeah, Philly, you know now they're after
- 7:30Speaker 2: that lost to Washington. Now on you know, a game behind,
- 7:33Speaker 2: but still I think mathematically are still could win the
- 7:37Speaker 2: one seed.
- 7:37Speaker 1: So Detroit still in a battle here, well, here are
- 7:40Speaker 1: the scenarios. Kansas City has wrapped up number one seed.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Of course throughout the playoffs, they've clinched it and home
- 7:48Speaker 1: field advantaged throughout the AFC playoffs. Did you see the
- 7:52Speaker 1: follow up story today with Patrick Mahomes about his wife.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Let's see, so she's she's pregnant, right or something like that.
- 8:00Speaker 1: She's expecting any day now. Okay, So what Patrick is
- 8:04Speaker 1: working on and hopefully I don't know if he's working on,
- 8:07Speaker 1: but he's hoping. He said he wants a bye week
- 8:09Speaker 1: baby because they they finished the regular season.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Let's see, in one game left and I believe it's
- 8:20Speaker 2: it's next Sunday, it's Denver.
- 8:21Speaker 3: It's at Denver. Is when it is what it is
- 8:24Speaker 3: and which they needed to not need to play their starters.
- 8:27Speaker 1: No, now Denver may need it go hold on to
- 8:30Speaker 1: a wild card spot because right now I think they're
- 8:32Speaker 1: in the seventh spot. They may need that win. So
- 8:35Speaker 1: it'd be interesting to see, you know about competitive balance
- 8:39Speaker 1: and all that other kind of stuff. But following that,
- 8:42Speaker 1: the Chiefs are going to get a buye in the
- 8:44Speaker 1: first round of the playoffs, and he's really hoping the
- 8:46Speaker 1: baby arrives during the during the bye and you just
- 8:50Speaker 1: know for Mahomes and the Chiefs, that's probably the way
- 8:52Speaker 1: it's going to work out, you know, is.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Next Sunday, the first Sunday where every single game is
- 8:58Speaker 2: a flex game because there's no kickoff times or anything announced.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And it's a smart decision. So the NFL doesn't put
- 9:05Speaker 2: a stupid game in Sunday Night Football like Commanders Cowboys, Right,
- 9:09Speaker 2: but a.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Time might matter for the Commanders. Yeah, no matter for
- 9:13Speaker 3: the Cowboys.
- 9:14Speaker 1: So uh, the listen, the game, the game that you
- 9:21Speaker 1: figure has got to be flex is going to be
- 9:22Speaker 1: Lions Vikings.
- 9:24Speaker 3: It's got to be right because that's both teams win
- 9:26Speaker 3: this week.
- 9:26Speaker 1: The Yeah, for the one seed as well as the division.
- 9:30Speaker 1: You're either going to be one the number one seed
- 9:32Speaker 1: in Central North NFC North champions, or you're gonna be
- 9:35Speaker 1: the five seed and on the road in the first round,
- 9:38Speaker 1: either at LA, where the Vikings have already lost this year,
- 9:41Speaker 1: or Atlanta or Tampa Bay. LA moved past those teams
- 9:48Speaker 1: with well, Atlanta moved up with their win, Tampa Bay
- 9:51Speaker 1: losing to the Cowboys dropped them out of the three seed.
- 9:54Speaker 3: What'd you make of that?
- 9:55Speaker 1: By the way, how about the Cowboys that that had
- 9:58Speaker 1: to be their best performance of the season.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Well, also, Tampa Bay's entire secondary's depleted. You know, Baker
- 10:03Speaker 2: Mayfield's losing receivers middle of the game. I think I
- 10:06Speaker 2: would start a cornerback for Tampa Bay. I didn't think
- 10:08Speaker 2: anything of it, correct, Okay, but Jerry Jones did. He's
- 10:11Speaker 2: fired up this quote that in this This really got
- 10:15Speaker 2: me going, even though I'm in and out of consciousness
- 10:18Speaker 2: this week weekend, he said. Jerry Jones said, quote, Mike
- 10:24Speaker 2: McCarthy has the team playing like they're playing for a
- 10:27Speaker 2: super Bowl. But here's the funny thing, Jerry Jones, they're
- 10:30Speaker 2: not because the Cowboys are eliminated. They are eliminated from
- 10:34Speaker 2: the playoff contention. So how are you using hypotheticals, Well,
- 10:37Speaker 2: they're playing like they would be playing. No, they weren't
- 10:39Speaker 2: because beginning of the season, Jerry, when it matters, and.
- 10:43Speaker 3: That's what he was saying. I'm not going to hypathetical
- 10:45Speaker 3: with you.
- 10:45Speaker 2: They were almost out of the playoff conversation two months
- 10:49Speaker 2: into the season. So it's just it's funny to me
- 10:51Speaker 2: how he can say they're playing like a super Bowl
- 10:54Speaker 2: team when they're out of the playoffs. What do you mean,
- 10:56Speaker 2: it's ridiculous. But he's coming back. I know he's coming back.
- 11:00Speaker 2: You know what I said that. I said this on
- 11:02Speaker 2: the air when you weren't with us the other day.
- 11:04Speaker 2: I said on Monday, the Cowboys win their last two games,
- 11:07Speaker 2: and I don't see him beating Philadelphia, although Jalen Hurts
- 11:11Speaker 2: got banged up, but they be. But if they find
- 11:13Speaker 2: a way to win in Philadelphia and then they beat
- 11:15Speaker 2: the Commanders something they finished with winning record, they finished
- 11:17Speaker 2: nine and eight, that will bring Mike McCarthy back. I
- 11:21Speaker 2: think he's back no matter what. Okay, the way Jerry's talking,
- 11:25Speaker 2: I think he comes back no matter what, which means
- 11:27Speaker 2: I will not be back for twenty twenty five.
- 11:29Speaker 1: You'll be continuing your boycott, all right when we come back,
- 11:33Speaker 1: and we will in a few minutes. We'll run down
- 11:35Speaker 1: some of those clinching scenarios and also some bold stuff
- 11:37Speaker 1: for you when we continue on Sports Radio DAUM thirteen
- 11:40Speaker 1: under the zone of the IR Radio app
