- 0:02Hey, it's almost like coffee with Kenny, my good buddy Kenny
- 0:06Walls. Although it's not coffee, it's
- 0:09water. How about The Polar Express mug?
- 0:1320th year anniversary. Anybody ever did that?
- 0:16I'd never done it until Sunday. I went with the family.
- 0:21My two kids loved it. Polar Express, downtown Saint
- 0:25Louis. You go to the North Pole, you
- 0:29meet Santee Claus. A good time was had by all.
- 0:33You get your hot chocolate, you get your mug there.
- 0:37They had some cookies, gluten free, allergy free cookies.
- 0:41My son could actually eat them. How about that?
- 0:43But enough about all that. I want to let some of you join
- 0:47in first. But we're going to talk some
- 0:48baseball. I know I've been doing a lot of
- 0:51Ohio State college football stuff on the channel here.
- 0:55We're going to get back to our roots.
- 0:57Baseball, Cardinals, baseball winter meetings, what's going on
- 1:02with Nolan Arenado, Juan Soto, the massive contract.
- 1:06We'll talk about a little bit of everything.
- 1:08First of all, I'm not an insider, OK?
- 1:12So before I press live here, I want to make sure a anything
- 1:16new, any news, anything breaking on the old X on the old Twitter?
- 1:22And I did see a fairly recent tweet from Bob Nightingale with
- 1:30a a new piece of news, a new update, I should say, on the
- 1:34Nolan Arenado situation. And of course, I can't find it,
- 1:38so I'll just search. I know it just happened here.
- 1:41So it was something along the lines of this, as a matter of
- 1:44fact, it was this. So 40 minutes ago, Bob
- 1:49Nightingale, our good buddy, used to live in Saint Louis.
- 1:52Great guy, always comes on all the radio shows he tweets out or
- 1:57X posts. What are we calling it these
- 1:58days? The Saint Louis Cardinals have
- 2:01given permission for Nolan Aronado's agent, Joel Wolf, to
- 2:06speak directly to teams to help facilitate a trade.
- 2:09Aronado has a full no trade clause is willing to go to
- 2:14several teams with a list quote that's bigger than you would
- 2:19think and quote, Wolf says so there you go.
- 2:24If you thought it was only, let's say, the Yankees, only the
- 2:29Dodgers, according to his agent, it is the agent, Joel Wolf, who
- 2:35of course works for Nolan Arenado.
- 2:38That's how it works when you're an agent.
- 2:41It looks like there are several teams and a list quote that is
- 2:43bigger than you would think. End Quote.
- 2:47Let's be real, Nolan Arenado wants out of Saint Louis.
- 2:51He's not going to be a Cardinal in 2025.
- 2:54We all know that he gone. I would think at this point, any
- 2:58reasonable contender, right, that's that's trying to win now.
- 3:03I think the Cardinals are going to try, they're going to kind of
- 3:06half try to win in 2025. But also it's it's got to be a
- 3:11pretty big market team. So even if there are other teams
- 3:15or known Arnotta would want to go to them, it has to be a team
- 3:18that's willing to take on. I know we've done this 5,000,000
- 3:21times. Whatever his money owed is, and
- 3:25I believe we've done this, and I believe it's 74,000,000 minus
- 3:28the 10 from the Rockies. So it's 64,000,000 / 3 years,
- 3:35right? But there's money deferred.
- 3:37I don't even know exactly how much money is deferred.
- 3:39I'm not an expert, I'm not an insider.
- 3:42You may know that better than I. So it's not a terrible amount of
- 3:46money. It's not cheap, but it's not
- 3:48like you're going to get all these small to mid market teams
- 3:51necessarily. They're going to want to take on
- 3:53that contract. We shall see what happens.
- 3:56OK, let's go to the chat real quick.
- 4:00Keith Adams. Houston needs a third baseman.
- 4:03Matthew Ryan. Hey, Charlie.
- 4:06I never miss a video from you. Well, thank you very much,
- 4:09Matthew Ryan. I'm going to do more, more
- 4:11baseball stuff for sure. Let's see, Josh Hill wants a
- 4:16team with the throttle down, and there's Kim Belker.
- 4:20Hi, Charlie. I know Kim very well and her son
- 4:24Austin, a good buddy of mine. Hi, Kim.
- 4:27Thanks for jumping on. Thanks for watching the live
- 4:29stream here. Brought to you by Triad Bank,
- 4:31Saint Louis Lawn Care, Saint Louis Equipment Corner Butcher
- 4:36and Chophouse as well. So the most recent development
- 4:39that I just read for you from Bob Nightingale, Look, no one.
- 4:43Arnotto is long gone. If you didn't know that already.
- 4:47Look at it like this. How many times has John Mosaic
- 4:52ever actually mentioned a player's name to be traded?
- 4:58And then that guy wasn't traded first and foremost for years.
- 5:04I was on TV for a a bunch of years on radio forever until
- 5:08just a few months ago, anytime we had John Mozelock on ever TV
- 5:12radio doesn't matter. If you ever asked him about a
- 5:15specific player in free agency, he'd always vary and still does
- 5:20politely say, look, we don't talk about specific players.
- 5:24So you can, you can kind of work around like if you're asking
- 5:28about Trevor Bauer, you can ask about, oh, guys that have off
- 5:32the field issues and all that, or specific players.
- 5:36You, you can, you can try to talk about a group of players or
- 5:39starting pitchers, whatever it is.
- 5:41My point is that John Mozelock is not going to talk about
- 5:44specific players and free agency.
- 5:46And you, you tell me, guys, I don't know, guys and gals, when
- 5:50was the time ever, besides this offseason and the last offseason
- 5:57when John Mosaic basically said they're shopping Tyler O'Neill?
- 6:01I remember we had John Mosaic on our radio show at the time, Hot
- 6:05Take Central that morning, I believe it was a Friday.
- 6:09Somebody check on this. I'm pretty sure that morning
- 6:13when we had John Mosaic on and basically asked him about Tyler
- 6:16O'Neill because he had brought it up.
- 6:18So at that point, obviously you can you can ask him about it
- 6:21because he had brought it up. They traded Tyler O'Neill to the
- 6:24Red Sox, I believe, later that day on that Friday.
- 6:28Again, I go on a lot of tangents.
- 6:31That's what I do. But my point is John Mozelock is
- 6:34not going to bring up trading a player if that player is not
- 6:38going to be traded. I would be absolutely freaking
- 6:42shocked if Nolan Arenado was not dealt.
- 6:45He's going to get dealt somewhere in the same way.
- 6:47And, and I don't know exactly how it's been discussed or
- 6:50reported, but when you look around, you see that Steven Matz
- 6:53is being shopped as well. Just the fact that you're seeing
- 6:57a lot of that, I would also expect Steven Matz to be moved
- 7:00as well, just because John Mosaic doesn't usually just talk
- 7:06to talk right? Where there's smoke, there's
- 7:09usually fire. He said, hey, we're shopping
- 7:12Tyler O'Neill. Boom, he was traded for
- 7:15essentially a bucket of balls. They said.
- 7:18I mean, he just said the other day at the winter meetings, it
- 7:21is our intention or I will try whatever the exact words were.
- 7:23I don't know the exact words, but I will try.
- 7:25We will try to trade Nolan Arnato.
- 7:27He gone, folks. Nolan Arnato will not be a
- 7:30cardinal in 2025. All right?
- 7:32And you can take this video and come back and say, Charlie, you
- 7:35were wrong. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong all the
- 7:37time. It's fine.
- 7:38He ain't going to be a card. You don't go through all this.
- 7:41And Mosaic said, look, probably not going to happen during the
- 7:45winter meetings, but the next couple of weeks, we shall see.
- 7:49I just ready to tweet from Bob Nightingale.
- 7:51He wants to leave. Nolan Aronado does.
- 7:53His agent wants him gone. The agents going to work
- 7:56directly with other teams. The list is bigger than you'd
- 7:59think. Nolan Aronado, He ain't going to
- 8:01be a Cardinal in 2025, folks. OK, let's get back to the chat.
- 8:05What do we got? Brianna Torres?
- 8:09See, there's lots of ladies watching this, or at least 2.
- 8:13Phillies won 2025. Philly's another team
- 8:16potentially for Nolan Arenado. We shall see.
- 8:19Frankie de Leon says Arenado is going to the Yankees.
- 8:24Let's see, Sir. Smokes a lot.
- 8:28What are you smoking, buddy? You've seen Jim Riley's idea.
- 8:32LAD gets NATO cards. Get Taylor Gosling.
- 8:37That Ryan Gosling. The actor.
- 8:38Is that Tony Gosselin and send LED 8.5 million Lol what a dumb
- 8:45ass. Cards take more money back than
- 8:47what they sent away. Jim Riley.
- 8:50Who's Jim Riley? I don't know.
- 8:51I love Chris Taylor by the way. Do the Cardinals want to take on
- 8:54any type of money? Probably not.
- 8:57Let's see. Charlie Smith, great name, good
- 9:00time for Arenado to go. He gone.
- 9:04Let's see, Keith Adams again says it's very telling that the
- 9:08baseball world has passed the Cardinals by and mow dug in like
- 9:12we were still relevant. Come on, it hurts to hear that
- 9:16sometimes. It hurts to hear the truth.
- 9:19I think the Cardinals are still quasi relevant.
- 9:21It's been a rough couple of years. 2023 was awful, this past
- 9:26year, not great. I actually think the Cardinals
- 9:28are going to be better than people expect in 2025.
- 9:33Now, I'm not saying they're going to make the play offs.
- 9:35It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't.
- 9:37But I feel like the narrative around the Cardinals of a, we're
- 9:41not really going to try, which is not the case, but we're not
- 9:45full throttle. We're going to kind of reassess
- 9:48the minor league system. I just feel like the narrative,
- 9:52I could understand why people are like, oh, they're not going
- 9:54to try. It's going to be a mini rebuild.
- 9:56It's going to be a not a tank, but you know what I'm talking
- 9:59about. Wouldn't surprise me if the
- 10:01Cardinals are in a very similar position at the trade deadline
- 10:05next year as they are, as they were this past year.
- 10:08I think they're going to be better than you think.
- 10:11What's the win total? I'll look it up here.
- 10:13Somebody else want to look it up.
- 10:15What's the over under Cardinals wins for 2025?
- 10:19Is it around 500? I would think.
- 10:21Is it around 8081? I will look it up if one of you
- 10:24guys don't. But if if one of you looks it up
- 10:26real quick, put it in the chat and I'll read it there.
- 10:29Let's go to a mirror. Amir says, Hey, Charlie,
- 10:33apologies if this is already mentioned.
- 10:36No need to apologize. How much do you believe the team
- 10:39may have to cover in an Arenado deal?
- 10:41Do you suspect they can get back real talent in return, minor
- 10:44league depth? I don't know.
- 10:46I didn't think the money was that big of a deal, honestly.
- 10:49Again, if if we go back to whatever it is, it's 64 million
- 10:52and some of it's deferred. And let me know if that's not
- 10:55the exact total. I don't know.
- 10:56I looked it up in Baseball Reference.
- 10:58I know there's been some deferrals over three years.
- 11:01It's not like it's a horrible contract.
- 11:03It's not like Arenado is 40. It's not like no one.
- 11:07Arenado was bad last year. He was just what, slightly above
- 11:11average? I haven't looked up his numbers.
- 11:14I know he got better defensively right as the year went on.
- 11:18Let's look up his let's look up his numbers.
- 11:21I know they weren't great, don't get me wrong, but it's not like
- 11:23he's a bad player. He just wasn't the superstar
- 11:27player that we'd come to expect. OK, pretty average offensively,
- 11:33OPS plus of one O 1. All right, that was actually
- 11:36worse than I thought. Career 120 OPS plus.
- 11:40So he was one O 1. That's basically the definition
- 11:44of average. 16 moms, 71 RBI, 2.5 WAR.
- 11:50OK I don't know why for some reason I thought I thought he
- 11:53ended up being like a 1-10 ish OPS plus he was one O 8 in 2023.
- 11:59He was 151 OPS plus in 2022. OK so yeah the definition of
- 12:04average for 20 + 1,000,000 AV whatever it is. 2.5 WAR can
- 12:10still play some defense. Obviously not the defense of
- 12:14yesteryear when he won a Gold Glove pretty much every freaking
- 12:17year. Won a Gold Glove 2013 as a
- 12:21rookie won a Gold Glove all the way up until 2022 with the
- 12:26Cardinals when he was third in the MVP with what I said again,
- 12:30151 OPS plus. OK, so you're not getting that
- 12:32guy, but you're getting a pretty Dang.
- 12:36I still think he's going to be above average right.
- 12:38I, I think if you guys want to make a nice little gentleman's
- 12:41bet I I think Nolan Arenado's OPS plus will be it'll certainly
- 12:47be above one O 1 this coming year.
- 12:49I think I think also he just doesn't want to be here.
- 12:53He has only part of a of a the losing team in 2023, but just
- 12:57kind of a blah team in 2024. I bet you Nolan Arenado is is
- 13:01back to 1:10-ish plus OPS plus in 2025.
- 13:07What do you think? Or do you think he's just kind
- 13:09of done? You think he's just an average
- 13:11player here on out? What do you guys think?
- 13:14Let's see here. OK, I read all of your comments.
- 13:18There you go. Yeah, he's gone.
- 13:21I think it's interesting though, too, about who's going to stay.
- 13:24That's why the full rebuild doesn't make any sense.
- 13:27The Cardinals should still kind of try to win and then see what
- 13:31happens at the trade deadline. That's why, look, it's easy to
- 13:35say just get rid of everybody. Get rid of Contreras, get rid of
- 13:38Sonny Gray, you know, Fetty. I mean, obviously there's some
- 13:42pitchers you'd probably want to get rid of.
- 13:45Michaelis would be a salary dump at this point, don't you think?
- 13:49I mean, you still need innings. It's going to depend on what
- 13:52pitchers they want to give a look to in terms of of who do
- 13:57they want to get starts? Young guys, Polante, obviously
- 14:02Sonny Gray is going to get starts.
- 14:04Right now Matt is under contract, but I think he's going
- 14:06to be moved. Michaelis under contract.
- 14:09I think they'd like to move. Miles Michaelis.
- 14:14Who am I missing? Obviously you had you had guys
- 14:17like Kyle Gibson, Lancelin, who were were here this past year,
- 14:22options not picked up. I guess in theory you could
- 14:25bring somebody back. Could you bring a Kyle Gibson
- 14:28back? We shall see.
- 14:30Again, I think Aronado's gone. I think Mats is gone.
- 14:32We'll see who stays healthy. We'll see who they want to give
- 14:35a look. I think the following year
- 14:38that's more interesting for the starting pitching because the
- 14:40following year I think is when you'd want to give Quinn
- 14:44Matthews and or Tinkens a shot to get 25 plus big league
- 14:52starts. If that's the case, I'm talking
- 14:532026. Hopefully those guys get a few
- 14:56starts, cup of coffee, spot start, whatever it is.
- 14:59Maybe a little call up action in 2025, but unless those guys are
- 15:05just unbelievable, right? Unless Quinn Matthews was just
- 15:08unbelievable in spring training, I don't think he's going to make
- 15:11the big league roster, but maybe he does.
- 15:12I don't know. I don't freaking know.
- 15:15We're just talking baseball here.
- 15:16OK, All right, Nelio, let's see, Neilio says.
- 15:23Noli. I think that's Nolan just
- 15:25doesn't handle losing baseball games well.
- 15:27If he gets to a true contender and their management places Noli
- 15:30in the right spot in the lineup, he can thrive for sure.
- 15:33Yes, I agree. Look, he already kind of forced
- 15:37his way out of Colorado and he didn't want to be there.
- 15:39He doesn't want to be here. He's not forcing his way out
- 15:42yet, but they're mutually parting ways.
- 15:45It's like a breakup. When you say it's not you, it's
- 15:48not me, it's us. When it's really always you or
- 15:53me, they always say it's not you, it's me, but it is.
- 15:59It's always you is what I'm trying to say.
- 16:01In this case, you is me. You get that?
- 16:04All right. Jonathan Scott says, Hey,
- 16:06Charlie, love the content. What are your thoughts on the
- 16:08cards holding on to Helsley? My guess is it is some posturing
- 16:12until some free agent closures move and some other closers
- 16:15trade it. Yeah.
- 16:17I don't think it makes sense to hold on to Ryan Helsley either
- 16:21because if you're not really trying to win, although they
- 16:25kind of will, but a great closer is kind of a luxury for a team
- 16:30that's not going all in. What's his, what's his
- 16:34arbitration going to be like 8.5 million?
- 16:36There's a guy that would make sense to qualifying offer him
- 16:39though after, after 2025, would he accept it?
- 16:44Probably not. He's going to get a huge
- 16:45contract. But I would think they're going
- 16:49to move Ryan Helsley. I think they get a really good
- 16:52offer for Ryan Helsley, right? We're still pretty early in the
- 16:57winter here. I would think Helsley's going to
- 16:59go. We shall see.
- 17:01I don't know, that's just my guess.
- 17:04Sheldon Richards, Where's Cat? What do you think?
- 17:06I live with Cat or something? Are they going to trade Jim
- 17:09Hayes? I don't think so.
- 17:12Let's see, Milio again. If you're not really into
- 17:16seriously contending from the get go, you got to get back some
- 17:19value for Hellesy. I think it's a must.
- 17:21I agree. Now, I will say this, will your
- 17:24package, not talking about your package here, but will your
- 17:27package be that much different at the trade deadline?
- 17:31If he's great than it is this winter, I mean, I think it'll
- 17:34certainly be more this winter, but man, if he's great and a a
- 17:39contender feels like he's the last thing they need to win a
- 17:43World Series. You'll still get a great return
- 17:46at the trade deadline, but a bigger return now.
- 17:49And I I think he'll also be moved.
- 17:51It's just my my take. No inside info.
- 17:56Lauren Foote. Look at all the ladies, I think.
- 18:00Lauren, are you a lady? I shouldn't assume no one get
- 18:03traded. Does Gorman take over third or
- 18:05someone else? You got Gorman as an option.
- 18:10What? Donovan can bounce all around.
- 18:12Yeah. I don't know.
- 18:13I mean, I would think if, if you're playing Nolan Gorman at
- 18:16second, you would feel comfortable playing him at third
- 18:18also. I don't know.
- 18:20We shall see if the dude hits. Play him somewhere.
- 18:23Play him somewhere. Right.
- 18:26All right. Thank you, guys for watching.
- 18:28Got 37 of you watching live. Get your Cardinals comments,
- 18:32questions in. What do you think of the Juan
- 18:34Soto contract? We're talking 15 years,
- 18:39$765,000,000, right? Couldn't be just an easy even
- 18:46$50 million per year. No, $51 million per season.
- 18:51And I broke that down. That is, I did the math on the
- 18:54calculator. I'll do it again.
- 18:56It was something like $300,000 per game.
- 19:00Let's go ahead and do it on the old calculator here.
- 19:03All right, My phone's about to die.
- 19:05But $765 million? That's insane.
- 19:11Divided by 162 games. What?
- 19:17Oh, that's why I got to divide it by the years first.
- 19:20Hold on, stick with me. I'm not good at math.
- 19:23So 765,000,000. I should have just done 51.
- 19:26This is why I'm dumb. 765,000,000 / 15 K equals
- 19:3151,000,000 / 162 games. Look at that $314,814.00.
- 19:44We'll call it 82 cents. Let's just call it.
- 19:47Let's just round up, let's call it 315,000 dollars, $315,000 per
- 19:59game. Let's go by innings.
- 20:02It's like 35,000. This is how much Juan Soto is
- 20:07making per inning. Look, if you're out of college,
- 20:12right? I mean, I, I want people to make
- 20:13more, but like, if you're out of college, let's say you get a
- 20:16job, you're making $35,000 a year doing something.
- 20:19I don't know, I don't even know whatever.
- 20:22What's $35,000 a year hourly? So that's, let me see, divided
- 20:28by 52 weeks, OK, divided by 4040 hours a week.
- 20:35OK, so let's just say if you made about $35,000 per year,
- 20:40you'd be making, let's just call it, $17.00 per hour, right?
- 20:44I think that checks out. Juan Soto is making $35,000 per
- 20:51inning, 300 and whatever, whatever that number was,
- 20:55$318,000 per game. That is crazy.
- 20:59What do you guys think of that deal?
- 21:01That's insane. But hey, I'm all for the players
- 21:05getting paid as much as possible.
- 21:07Anybody that gets mad about that, I've seen a couple people
- 21:10on X YouTube complain about it, couple people in my comments,
- 21:15and I'm always like like one person.
- 21:16I'm not trying to do the straw man, but sometimes you just get
- 21:19one comment or so somebody was like, I'm, I'm just sick of
- 21:23baseball. I'm not going to watch or
- 21:25whatever the comment was. And I'm thinking to myself,
- 21:27well, do you feel the same way about Steve Cohen?
- 21:29I know Steve Cohen's the owner and he made his money, but but I
- 21:33feel like we always worry about the players.
- 21:35So Steve Cohen is worth, I think 21 billion.
- 21:39I looked that up the other day. I mean, if a dude's worth 21
- 21:42billion and he wants to pay one of the greatest players of his
- 21:47generation 3/4 of a billion dollars to play baseball, why
- 21:53are you mad about that? I'm not mad about it.
- 21:55I'm not mad about Juan Soto making that much money.
- 21:57I'm not mad about Steve Cohen making 21 billion or whatever
- 22:00he's worth, right? These people are the best at
- 22:04what they do in the world, on the planet.
- 22:08And it's a very coveted position, right?
- 22:10I mean, he's one of the, he's one of the best hitters,
- 22:14offensive players because also in terms of on base and walking,
- 22:18I mean, one of the things he does so well is his power plus
- 22:21his walks, his on base. It's something up there.
- 22:24I I saw a graphic where he's up there with like only 5, only
- 22:29five players I think in the history of baseball.
- 22:32Let me look this up because you know how it look, like I said,
- 22:36I'm not writing this down, folks.
- 22:37I believe the stat I saw was something like players that had
- 22:42more than 200 homers. Yeah, he has 201 homers and over
- 22:46700 walks and he has 769 walks and he's still, is he 25?
- 22:53He just turned, he just turned 26 October 25th.
- 22:57So I think the stat was how many players that had over 200 homers
- 23:01and over 700 walks before their 26th birthday or something like
- 23:05that. And it was just like a crazy
- 23:07list of, you know, Babe Ruth and couple other unbelievable
- 23:11players. Juan Soto in seven years, OPS
- 23:16plus career 160 batting average 285 on base, 421 career on base
- 23:23percentage 532 career slug. He's really, really, really
- 23:29good. His WAR was 7.9 this past year,
- 23:32the best of his career at age 25.
- 23:36His age 25 season. That's pretty good, folks.
- 23:40Pretty good. Let's see, I left that Lauren
- 23:45Foote comment up there a while. How about you, Mama, package
- 23:50other players with Nolan and Helsley, Nolan and Newt to LA.
- 23:52Don't you want to keep Newt for Miller and Taylor, Helsley and
- 23:56Donovan to the East Coast for prospects?
- 23:58Don't you want to keep Donovan? Why keep Newton Donovan if this
- 24:02is a 2 to three-year reset? OK, so you answered the question
- 24:04that I was asking during reading your question.
- 24:09I don't think it's a 2-3 year reset.
- 24:10I think it's a one year reset. I do.
- 24:13I think 2026, you're thinking Sonny Gray's around.
- 24:18You're thinking hopefully Jordan Walker has emerged.
- 24:20We'll see what happens with Gorman.
- 24:21I want nude around. I want Brendan Donovan around.
- 24:25Hopefully Quinn Matthews and Tink hence are our players.
- 24:29Then I'm keeping those guys. I don't think this is a 2 to
- 24:32three-year reset. I think they could be really
- 24:34good potentially in 2026. I do.
- 24:37Could be wrong, could be wrong. Let's see, Amir, you still
- 24:41believe in Gorman, Charlie. I don't know any comps with his
- 24:44tools slash profile that have bounced back from struggles like
- 24:47his in 2024. Yeah, I don't know.
- 24:49I mean, I don't believe in Gorman like I do Walker.
- 24:52But Gorman also might be in the modern era.
- 24:56He just might be a dude who hits two.
- 24:59I was going to say 220. He he could hit 195 with 30
- 25:04bombs. I mean, could he walk a little
- 25:06bit? I know that's not what you want,
- 25:09but like players like that are still can still be valuable.
- 25:13Let me look at let me look up his numbers here because I have
- 25:16not looked at these guys in a while.
- 25:18So what do we got for Gorman again, I know that's not what
- 25:23you're looking for. All right, he had an 85 OPS
- 25:26plus. It's very bad previous two
- 25:30years, one O 4 OPS plus in 22116 in 2023.
- 25:34I mean, what if you got his rookie year numbers, folks, one
- 25:38O 4 OPS plus, OK, I know you don't love it, but that's a 226
- 25:42average, a 300 on base slugging, 420.
- 25:46That was 14 bombs and 89 games, right?
- 25:50Not going to probably play every day.
- 25:52Match him up. I mean, in 2023, he had 27
- 25:57homers, if you could get anywhere close to that, right?
- 26:02Who cares about the batting average, 236 batting average,
- 26:04whatever. If he can get anywhere near that
- 26:07328 on base, he slugged 478. I mean, if this dude hit 200
- 26:14with a 300 on base, if he can somehow get his slug up to like
- 26:18440, he's still probably an average player that's still
- 26:24plays, right? I don't know.
- 26:26I don't really have that much confidence in Nolan Gorman to be
- 26:28a superstar, but I I I'll say I think I have confidence in Nolan
- 26:32Gorman to be a solid big leaguer.
- 26:36I would think still, yeah. Let's see Thurman Vaught.
- 26:41I would do arnotto and nude bar for Bobby Miller and Zahir Hope.
- 26:47Let's see endless equinox. Lol 35 KA year.
- 26:52Do janitors go to college now? Well, it depends on the IT
- 26:55depends on the the field, right? OK, I guess most people going to
- 27:01college, if it wasn't back in the day, like you're going to
- 27:03broadcasting, we didn't make nothing back in the day, our
- 27:06first job. OK, so 35 KA year doesn't matter
- 27:09if you go to college or not. That wasn't really the point.
- 27:12So $17.00 an hour. OK, you're a janitor, whatever.
- 27:16I mean, if you have an office job out of college, are you
- 27:20making 40 KA year? I don't even know.
- 27:21I have no, I have no clue. I'm just saying, OK, let's say
- 27:26you you just graduate high school and you start working,
- 27:30doing something. Roofing.
- 27:33Are you making $17.00 an hour? Are you making more?
- 27:35I don't know. I have no freaking clue.
- 27:37Let me know. OK, Let's see.
- 27:42Dennis Kasumba. Is that like trying to get me to
- 27:45say something inappropriate? Do the Cardinals have any
- 27:48interest in signing Dennis Kasumba?
- 27:51I don't know that person. I don't know all the prospects.
- 27:53OK, let's see. Ryan Claus.
- 27:56Santa Claus's son, I feel awful for NATO.
- 28:00He got played. Yeah, I think he was misled, but
- 28:04also he wasn't that good, folks. It's also on him.
- 28:08One of the reasons the Cardinals weren't good the last couple
- 28:10years, he wasn't that good. He also has a little pouty,
- 28:13pouty, right, Not running balls out.
- 28:15Where was he at the end of 2023? At the end, when he was banged
- 28:19up? He didn't want to be here,
- 28:21didn't want to be here. It's his fault.
- 28:23It's Cardinals fault. It's everybody's fault likes are
- 28:28free. Hit that like button, hit that
- 28:29subscribe button, throw your comments in there.
- 28:33Here we go. Let's see.
- 28:37Ryan Claus says it's so hard trying to find a communications
- 28:39based job with my degree and the ones that will hire right now
- 28:42pay 32K off. That's what I was thinking.
- 28:44I mean, some degrees, you got to start out, well, I started out
- 28:49super low, and this was 2000 and what, 4?
- 28:54It was less than 35 K, I'll tell you that.
- 28:56It's freaking half that. Basically, Upper Peninsula,
- 28:58Michigan, one of the smallest markets in the country.
- 29:02Yeah, so that's what I was saying.
- 29:02I was just saying more. So, OK, if you're like 18 or 20
- 29:05or whatever, 35 K is probably somewhere within the average or
- 29:10national average. And that's what Juan Soto makes.
- 29:13Per inning, folks. Per inning.
- 29:17Let's see, Dwayne Smith seems he can't handle when we lose versus
- 29:21winning and lacks hustle. Talking about Aronado, I think
- 29:24that's fair. I think that's fair.
- 29:26Here we go yo Mama. Median income in Saint Louis
- 29:30area is $27.00 an hour. OK, but it but median is for
- 29:36everybody, right? So that's people that are
- 29:3930405060 I would think so. I don't know the number, but I
- 29:42would say 35,000 out of college. It's not crazy.
- 29:46I don't know. Let me know if you're out of
- 29:48college. Like, what do you get?
- 29:49What do you make for a manual labor job, right?
- 29:52Or a high skilled trade job? I don't know.
- 29:55Let me know. OK.
- 29:57Jeff Castle. Good afternoon, Charlie.
- 29:59Good afternoon, Jeff. 30 minutes strong here.
- 30:04Thank you, guys. We got 36 people watching.
- 30:06Please support our sponsors. I'm not done yet.
- 30:08I just want to let you know. Support Triad Bank right there.
- 30:12Triad Bank. Boom, triadbanking.com.
- 30:15Just got an e-mail from my commercial lender over there, my
- 30:18guy Matthew Tobin, about renewing a line of credit and
- 30:22had to sign some documents and he emails me, calls me, text me,
- 30:27or I text him. He calls right back.
- 30:29Customer service, relationship based banking.
- 30:31That's what you get at Triad Bank.
- 30:33You will not get that at a big National Bank.
- 30:36I used to be at a big National Bank for my commercial lending.
- 30:39It was not good. It was not a fun experience.
- 30:41Best thing I ever did for my rental property business, taking
- 30:44all those commercial loans from a big National Bank to a local
- 30:47bank over there in Front neck, Triad Bank, Triad banking.com,
- 30:51Saint Louis lawn care, Saint Louis equipment, Corner butcher
- 30:55and chop house over there in Valley Park and also corner
- 30:58butcher West in Ellisville. Saint Louis lawn care.
- 31:01They can treat your lawn over the winter, they can cut your
- 31:04grass right and do all that. And right now Saint Louis
- 31:09equipment, stlmowerrepair.com, you got to hit them up,
- 31:13especially for snow blowers, right?
- 31:15Christmas season, you can get your, your family member like AI
- 31:20got a leaf blower for Christmas once.
- 31:21It's great from stlmowerrepair.com, which is STL
- 31:26equipment. I got a Crest battery operated
- 31:29trimmer. I have a Husqvarna blower.
- 31:33That's the fuel mix. But then right now they have the
- 31:35Aryan's brands of snow blowers and all residential and
- 31:40commercial snow blowers, all their equipment, OK plows, salt
- 31:45spreaders, snow blowers. They sell bulk and bagged salt
- 31:48for your lawn, not your lawn. Don't put it on your lawn, on
- 31:51your walkway, on your driveway. You know what I'm talking about
- 31:54Afton location that's 86 O1 New Hampshire Avenue, Afton,
- 31:57Missouri 63123 and at the O Fallon location, five O 9
- 32:01Sunderen St. O Fallon, MO 63366.
- 32:04That location convenient right off of Hwy. 70 Aryans snow
- 32:09blowers. I checked them out.
- 32:11They're freaking cool, really cool snow blowers.
- 32:13So go get one at STL equipment. All right.
- 32:16We talked about Nolan Coronado. We talked about Juan Soto, Ryan
- 32:21Claus, Santa Claus. Ryan Claus is asking, is this
- 32:27sports only politics? I like to stick with sports on
- 32:30this channel. I like to stick with sports.
- 32:32The other channel. We're trying to build it up, but
- 32:35I only have so much time. I got this channel trying to do
- 32:38Cardinals, trying to do some college football, which is what
- 32:41I am into. And then the politics channel.
- 32:44I don't have a ton of time. NASCAR, Kenny Wallace, Herman
- 32:48Schrader, Dirty MO Media. We're doing that non-stop.
- 32:51That's probably 95% of my time. And we just released the Herman
- 32:58Schrader most recent episode. It's on Dirty MO Media Podcast.
- 33:02It's episode 5. Herman Schrader, check it out.
- 33:05About an hour long. And we just uploaded it to
- 33:08YouTube as well. So you got video, you got audio.
- 33:10We do it all on the Kenny Wallace YouTube channel, Herman
- 33:14Schrader on a Dirty MO Media podcast and the Kenny Wallace
- 33:18YouTube channel. All right, Sheldon Richards says
- 33:22should make Dana White the commissioner of MLB.
- 33:24Biggest contract would be 10 years, $2,000,000 deal.
- 33:29Yeah, I don't think the players would go for that.
- 33:31Dennis Kasuma is the catcher from Uganda with all the videos
- 33:35on YouTube. OK.
- 33:36I feel like I've seen that kid. Is he is he that good?
- 33:38I don't know. I've seen a catcher with the
- 33:40videos. Is he that great?
- 33:42How old is he? I have no clue, but I have seen
- 33:45some videos. I'm guessing that's a person
- 33:47you're talking about a couple of hard things.
- 33:51How about this golden at bat? What do you think of that?
- 33:54Come on now. And I like, I like some of the
- 33:56stuff that probably baseball does more than other people.
- 34:00Like everybody complaints about the, you know, the the runner on
- 34:062nd 10th inning. That doesn't really bother me.
- 34:10This golden at bat, though, that's where you're starting to
- 34:14stretch it into just being comical right now.
- 34:19Again, my whole thing, though, is like, I don't mind if you
- 34:21tinker with stuff in the regular season if you're essentially
- 34:26breaking ties, right? Because at that point, to me,
- 34:30it's essentially entertainment. If you don't do all these crazy
- 34:33kooky things in the playoffs, I'm fine with a lot of them.
- 34:37Same with hockey. The three on three overtime,
- 34:41look, if it's a close game, if it's tied, you do the quick
- 34:44overtime, you do the shootout, whatever it is.
- 34:46You do the three on three overtime, it's essentially a
- 34:48tie. I'm I'm OK with doing kind of
- 34:51some weird quirky stuff around ties in the regular season.
- 34:55I don't want any of that crap during the playoffs.
- 34:58That's where I stand on a lot of this stuff.
- 34:59What do you guys think Cards need Tucker, Tucker Carlson or
- 35:05Kyle Tucker? Talk about Kyle Tucker.
- 35:08I've seen that Kyle Tucker could be potentially moved.
- 35:13Let's see you, Mama. Soda will age well, 15 years, a
- 35:18long time. The first seven years will be
- 35:20worth it. The last 8 will be an overpay,
- 35:22but not by a ton. The 51 million now will be like
- 35:2530 million then. Yeah, but also, you're getting a
- 35:27young dude. He's 26.
- 35:30You're getting until age 40. But a guy like that with his
- 35:33plate discipline that can walk, you don't think even I would
- 35:38think they're going to get 10 good years.
- 35:40I mean, 10 good years till he's 35 ish.
- 35:44Even then, I mean he's going to fall off a little bit, but you
- 35:48don't think he's still going to be able to walk?
- 35:49You don't think he's still going to be able to Jack some home
- 35:53runs? I think I think it's going to be
- 35:55a pretty Dang good deal. The thing about Soto is I don't
- 35:59want to compare him to Jason Hayward, but one of the things,
- 36:01remember when Jason Hayward was the big free agent, one of the
- 36:05things we all touted, where people touted was, oh, he's so
- 36:08young, right, Because he was a super young, super young free
- 36:12agent. Well, he had been OK, but it was
- 36:15almost like they were selling you more on the youth than the
- 36:18production. Why?
- 36:19And so do you get both? You get a super young guy, one
- 36:22of the youngest, youngest free agents we've seen in years, and
- 36:26he's super productive. It's the best of both worlds
- 36:28there. OK.
- 36:30Yeah. Kyle Tucker.
- 36:33I knew you meant Kyle Tucker, not Tucker Carlson.
- 36:35I was joking. Dwayne Smith, If Cards have
- 36:39another offseason, does Ollie go?
- 36:41Yeah, I would think so. Well, it depends also if Hein
- 36:45Bloom likes him, right? I would think Hein Bloom's
- 36:47running the show. Obviously, 2026.
- 36:49If he wants a new manager, he'll get a new manager in 2026.
- 36:53I didn't think getting rid of Ollie was a huge deal this past
- 36:56year. You have a lot of other things
- 36:57to clean up moves to be made reassess the minor league system
- 37:02development all that If Ollie's good, he can stay beyond 2025.
- 37:06If he's not get rid of him clean slate hind bloom with whoever he
- 37:10wants to be the manager in 2026. Let's see Ryan Claus Soto deal
- 37:18is sort of like Albert deal. I'd rather take Albert even
- 37:20though he wasn't like the cards version entire career, but it's
- 37:23kind of like the first Albert deal.
- 37:25That's the deal. It's it's like the first really
- 37:27good one. Not exactly, but it's like the
- 37:291st 10 year deal, right? You're getting him young.
- 37:31Not not the crap. No, I shouldn't say crap.
- 37:36That was mean. I mean, you're probably going to
- 37:37get some crap years at the end of Juan Soto.
- 37:39There were some bad years at the end of Albert with the Angels.
- 37:42Did he have about four or five good years with the Angels?
- 37:45But I mean, every year with the Cardinals was good.
- 37:48I would think the first ten years of this deal for the Mets
- 37:51to be pretty good for Juan Soto. I would guess.
- 37:54Let's see, Dempsey, Callahan, I think Arnott and Goldie were bad
- 37:58for the locker room and are not leaders.
- 38:00They stay in their heads. My prediction is the clubhouse
- 38:04will be better shape. We'll be in better shape now.
- 38:06We'll produce a better team. Yeah.
- 38:08I don't think they were bad for the locker room.
- 38:10I certainly don't think Goldie was bad for the clubhouse.
- 38:13Maybe not vocal leaders. I get that.
- 38:16I mean, I do think it was a pretty big indictment after 2023
- 38:20that the Cardinals essentially said, hey, we got to bring in
- 38:23like Lance Lynn and all these veteran guys and Kyle Gibson and
- 38:29bringing back Matt Carpenter and Brandon Crawford because they
- 38:33needed more clubhouse leaders. I I think that was a pretty,
- 38:36pretty strong indictment of the clubhouse in 2023.
- 38:41And that's everybody. That's Ollie, that's the
- 38:43players. I don't think Goldie was a bad
- 38:46clubhouse guy whatsoever. And I covered both these guys.
- 38:48I think both pretty quiet. I think Arenado pouts.
- 38:52And they also just didn't have good years, right?
- 38:55They didn't hit the last couple years.
- 38:57That's the main part. Let's see, big overpay in my
- 39:01opinion. 800 million for taking ball 4 so much yes walks lead
- 39:07the wins 800 million Sheesh that is true.
- 39:10I can see him going awful at 28 only because he started so
- 39:15young. I don't think about that.
- 39:16I think he's going to be really good till he's at least 35 or
- 39:19so. If Contreras fails, Thurman
- 39:23Vaught, who is your future 1st baseman in 2026?
- 39:26Well, I mean, Contreras better not fail because he's under
- 39:29contract for what, three more years with an option?
- 39:31So I think he's your first baseman, folks.
- 39:34And that's another thing. Look, you signed Wilson
- 39:37Contreras to be your catcher for five years plus an option.
- 39:40He caught what, half of a couple seasons?
- 39:44You essentially want to move him to the outfield about a month
- 39:47into that contract. And I know he's been a really
- 39:49good hitter. I'm a big Wilson Contreras fan.
- 39:51But let's let's not act like that contract has been anything
- 39:54like what they thought it was going to be replacing Yachty.
- 39:57It's fine. I mean, he's a first baseman
- 39:59now. He can hit.
- 40:00Don't get me wrong, I don't think it'll be a bad contract,
- 40:03but that's not at all what you envisioned.
- 40:05And also, if you think he's going to be a first baseman two
- 40:09years in, do you even sign him, you know, at that point?
- 40:13Do you steer a Gorman or a Walker more towards first base
- 40:17in their development? That's the thing, like you're
- 40:19kind of shifting pieces. I, I, I think they wanted to
- 40:23make Nolan, not Nolan or not. I think they wanted to make
- 40:26Wilson Contreras an outfielder pretty early on in his tenure.
- 40:29I think that offseason you saw reports of that.
- 40:30He didn't want to do it. Well, now you don't need
- 40:32outfielders. Now you need a first baseman.
- 40:34So I'm not saying look, first baseman, outfield.
- 40:37I think Nolan keeps saying Nolan Arenado, sorry, Wilson
- 40:39Contreras. I, I think he could probably
- 40:41play either. But right now there's a need at
- 40:43first base. So we'll see.
- 40:45Defensively, it's going to be a drop off.
- 40:47It's absolutely going to be a drop off from Paul Goldschmidt,
- 40:49who's elite has been elite. So picking balls over there.
- 40:54We'll see what happens. I don't think he's going to be a
- 40:55butcher, but there's going to be a drop off for sure from Paul
- 40:59Goldschmidt. Let's see Ryan Claus on Soto.
- 41:06Maybe he's different and is guaranteed Hall of Famer right
- 41:09now he's not. I think he'll he'll be in the
- 41:11Hall of Fame. I think so let's see here you
- 41:15Mama golden bat rule has to be a joke If you're going to RIP off
- 41:18banana ball stuff, RIP off the rule that when a fan catches a
- 41:21foul balls and out. I do like that rule for banana
- 41:24ball. Let's see, Thurman Vaughn, if
- 41:28Chase Davis and JJ Weatherholt, they're ready in 2026.
- 41:31What do you do with Donovan and Burley?
- 41:33I don't know. These things will.
- 41:34Hey, they'll all play themselves out, right?
- 41:36They'll all play themselves out. Whoever hits is going to stay,
- 41:40right? If Gorman can't hit, who knows?
- 41:42He's going to be on the bench. He's going to be moved.
- 41:44Does he mean another guy like all these other players that get
- 41:46moved when they have no value, like a Dylan Carlson or whoever?
- 41:51Tyler O'Neill, by the way, Tyler O'Neill.
- 41:53Good for him. Nice contract.
- 41:55Three years. What 49 and a half million has
- 41:59an opt out? Maybe opts out after the first
- 42:01year. Hopefully he stays healthy.
- 42:02I'm a big Tyler O'Neill fan. I know he's got to stay healthy
- 42:04100%. Look, that was the main problem
- 42:06with Tyler O'Neill. The best ability is
- 42:09availability. But also I'll never, I'll never,
- 42:12I'll never go astray from this take.
- 42:15He was done wrong by Ollie. Ollie never should have called
- 42:19him out publicly. That fractured the relationship
- 42:21to the point where they had to move him for a bucket of balls
- 42:24when of course you have a super motivated player in your walk
- 42:27here. That made no sense, made no
- 42:29sense. I said at the time, it just made
- 42:32no sense. I get, I get calling him out, I
- 42:35get it. Do it behind closed doors.
- 42:37He was running at like 93% of his top Sprint speed.
- 42:40Made no sense to call him out publicly.
- 42:42I've never seen a professional athlete.
- 42:44Everybody that's weighed in on this topic the last couple
- 42:46years, I've never seen anybody back Ollie on that just made no
- 42:51sense. You lost the player.
- 42:52You had to trade him away for a bucket of balls the next year.
- 42:55That was stupid. That was stupid.
- 42:57No excuses. Sorry.
- 42:59Sorry. And you know I'm right about
- 43:00that. You know I'm right about that,
- 43:03right? I'm wrong about a lot of things.
- 43:06I'm right about that one. Jeff Castle walks singles and
- 43:08double s. Equal wins.
- 43:10I don't want every hitter on the team trying to hit home runs.
- 43:12Yeah, especially at good old Busch Stadium.
- 43:15Hit some balls in the gap and run, baby.
- 43:17Let's see, Scott Jennings is a lifelong Cardinals fan.
- 43:22Lol. Is that the dude on CNN?
- 43:24Is that what you're talking about?
- 43:26Scott Jennings, is that what you're talking about?
- 43:29Why are you trying to make a political dude?
- 43:30We're trying to talk sports here.
- 43:31OK man, come on, Ryan. But thank you for your comments.
- 43:34I appreciate it. One more topic.
- 43:37Let's see. Yes, he's talking about Scott
- 43:38Jennings. He's the dude on CNN where it's
- 43:41always like 5 versus 1. He's the one conservative versus
- 43:44like 5 Democrats. Seems like I don't really watch,
- 43:47to be honest with you. I don't watch, but I see the
- 43:49clips, see the clips on X and Speaking of X, I'm going to go
- 43:54back to it because I thought this was kind of funny.
- 43:57It's not funny, but telling and I was joking.
- 44:01So basically foul territory. Great show.
- 44:04AJ Pierzynski and all them they put it out there.
- 44:08Joel Wolf, the agent again. We mentioned Joel Wolf earlier.
- 44:11He's Arnotto's agent, but Joel Wolf, the agent, said Roki
- 44:15Sasaki could benefit from a soft landing in a small to mid market
- 44:20team, partially because of how tough the Japanese media has
- 44:24been on his mental health. And by the way, I'm not making
- 44:28fun of the dude at all. I'm going to comment.
- 44:30But mental health is a is a real thing.
- 44:33I'm not trying to Pooh Pooh that OK.
- 44:35But also, like, if you're in the big leagues, isn't that pretty
- 44:39stressful anywhere? I know you could have more media
- 44:42attention in some big markets than others, but like you're
- 44:44still on the mound with millions of people watching, 10s of
- 44:49thousands of people watching. Like even if you play for the
- 44:51Seattle Mariners or whatever, right?
- 44:54So I'm all for the dude. Hey, be comfortable where you're
- 44:58at if you want to play somewhere.
- 44:59And my joke was, you know, Sasaki to the Cardinals confirm,
- 45:03because we're we're a nice soft landing right mid market team.
- 45:06They're not going to get them. I'm just joking, but my point is
- 45:09more so if I'm signing a pitcher to a big contract, that's also
- 45:14not what I want to hear, right? Maybe that's not fair because
- 45:18mental health is real thing. I feel for these dudes.
- 45:21There's pressure and some people can't handle the pressure.
- 45:23But if I'm about to sign a pitcher or a player to a big
- 45:27contract and they're like, I don't want to play certain
- 45:30places for my mental health. Like, I understand if you just
- 45:35don't like all the media. I think that's different.
- 45:39Like Sonny Gray, it seemed like he wanted to play with the
- 45:42Cardinals, right? And he lives in Nashville, kind
- 45:46of close to where he's from. Maybe not as much craziness with
- 45:49the media. I get that.
- 45:50And that can weigh on your mental health.
- 45:52I'm just saying if I'm trying to give out a huge contract, I
- 45:55don't love that. What do you think?
- 45:58What do you guys think? You agree, disagree.
- 46:01What do you got? What do you got?
- 46:03All right, you know what? We've gone 46 minutes, 41 of you
- 46:06watching. I really appreciate it.
- 46:08Thank you so much. I think we're going to wrap it
- 46:09up unless any more comments, any more questions.
- 46:12What do you guys think? Please support the sponsors.
- 46:15Triad Bank, Triad banking.com, Saint Louis Lawn Care.
- 46:19I told you about Saint Louis equipment, stlmowerrepair.com
- 46:22with their great Arians brand of snow blowers.
- 46:26Corner Butcher Chophouse over there in Valley Park.
- 46:29Corner Butcher West in Ellisville.
- 46:32Let's see. Yeah, I got a couple more.
- 46:35What do we got? Sorry if you already hit this,
- 46:39but Nado being gone, who's playing third base Move Gorman
- 46:41backs to JC Donovan. Yeah, I didn't even mention to
- 46:44JC. They got options.
- 46:45They got options. Arnado is as good as gone,
- 46:49folks. I like the Cardinals position
- 46:51players. I said that last year.
- 46:54I was wrong last year. I may be wrong again.
- 46:57You throw out those position players, You throw out a bucket
- 46:59of Donovan, Newt Walker Gorman Burley, said JC We got
- 47:07Contreras. I mentioned Burley.
- 47:11Who am I missing? Whoever's catching Herrera Pai
- 47:14haste. But OK, I'll, I'll say him again
- 47:18because I forgot already, but Newt Donovan, Walker Gorman
- 47:26said. JC Contreras Burley, right.
- 47:32I mean, aren't you, aren't you fairly high on almost all those
- 47:35guys? That's seven dudes, right?
- 47:37Whatever's going on at catcher. Who am I missing?
- 47:40Oh, duh. I mean, I'm missing freaking
- 47:41Mason win. Come on now, Mason win.
- 47:44Like you're not you're not pretty excited about that group
- 47:47of position players, folks. I am.
- 47:49I I still think they're going to be good.
- 47:50I still think they're going to hit.
- 47:52If I'm wrong again, I'm wrong again.
- 47:55OK, Kim Belker says Walker to 3rd.
- 48:00I don't know. Walker's a big boy.
- 48:03You really messed messed with that dude, right?
- 48:06Send them up, send them down third base in the minors, play
- 48:10right field. Does it make sense to move them
- 48:12to first or third now? Maybe That's what I'm saying.
- 48:15That's why I like the Contreras contract, OK?
- 48:19If they don't sign Contreras, they have different plans at
- 48:21first base moving forward for somebody like a Gorman
- 48:24potentially or a Jordan Walker, right?
- 48:26All these things come into play. Luke and Baker, you Mama
- 48:29mentioning. Yeah, I don't know what Lukan
- 48:31Baker looks like in the big leagues.
- 48:32Maybe he's a bench bat. I don't know.
- 48:35We shall see. Thurman Vaught says can't wait
- 48:39till Michaelis in his 1970's porn mustache is gone at the end
- 48:42of the year. Yeah, I I think the time has
- 48:44come to part ways after this year or we'll see.
- 48:48He's under contract. So, you know, if they're getting
- 48:51rid of him this year, it's probably going to be a salary
- 48:54dump. You always need innings.
- 48:56I know you don't love Miles Michaelis, but you always need
- 48:59innings. I still think the Cardinals are
- 49:00going to be pretty decent. And if they're decent, don't the
- 49:04Cardinals try to have to win at the at the trade deadline,
- 49:08right? Don't they have to after two
- 49:09years? I'm not saying go big, but like
- 49:11if they're in the mix, I think they owe it to the fan base to
- 49:14try after two years not making the playoffs, right.
- 49:18So are you going to trade away some pitching in the offseason
- 49:22that you might need back? That's that's why I like Fetty.
- 49:26I think the Cardinals going to be OK.
- 49:28If the Cardinals are three games out of the wild card, it's hard
- 49:31not to be in the wild card folks.
- 49:32You have to be really crappy. You have to be really crappy to
- 49:35not be in the wild card. If the Cardinals are three games
- 49:37out of the wild card at the trade deadline, I think they
- 49:40have to try to to stay in it, right?
- 49:42This is kind of what a soft rebuild is.
- 49:44I'm not saying go big, but add a reliever.
- 49:48You have to add a a depth starting pitcher.
- 49:50It is what it is, right? All right, Weatherholt coming up
- 49:55fast. JJ Weatherholt.
- 49:57I'd avoid trying to move Walker back.
- 49:58That's from Josh Hill. Arnotto for Alec Bomb.
- 50:02Straight up. Philly eats the contract.
- 50:04I don't know. We shall see you, Mama, says
- 50:09Contreras, Baker, Burley carousel at first base.
- 50:11DH Baker hits lefties. Burleson hits righties.
- 50:15All good ideas. All right, I'm going to shut her
- 50:16down. Thank you guys so much for
- 50:19watching. And also the Pelicans moving
- 50:21here, of course, our NBA team in 2028.
- 50:24I love it. I would love it.
- 50:26Not going to happen, but it's fun to talk about.
- 50:28All right, thank you guys. Please comment like subscribe

- 50:50Valley Park. Need a shave?
- 50:52I need to shave. I shaved my neck.
- 50:55Thanks, Charlie. Jeff Castle.
- 50:57Thank you, Jeff. And thank you, everybody.
