- 0:59Speaker 8: To find somebody's get older and you kind of get
- 1:01Speaker 8: set in your.

- 2:08Speaker 1: How's your cousin?
- 2:14Speaker 3: Let's move on?
- 2:15Speaker 1: All right?
- 2:17Speaker 3: I guess we have some draft profiles going up on.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Good stuff going up.
- 2:22Speaker 5: You guys have been working on talking to the coach.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Welcome you to check those out on pat dot com.
- 2:27Speaker 5: Julian Edelman has been announced as the latest Patriots Hall
- 2:31Speaker 5: of Famer and very happy for him. Well deserved, but
- 2:36Speaker 5: I have to admit I voted for Adam Vinteri, and
- 2:39Speaker 5: I think he should have gone in first, not that
- 2:42Speaker 5: both of them aren't equally deserving, but just let's get
- 2:46Speaker 5: some of the older guys in. Uh but good for
- 2:50Speaker 5: good for Julian. That'll be fun. I don't know when
- 2:53Speaker 5: they're going to be having the induction ceremony, of course
- 2:56Speaker 5: is going to include Bill Parcells as well. Uh So
- 2:58Speaker 5: they'll have to figure out when the gonna do that.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Sometimes they do it in the summer around training camp
- 3:04Speaker 5: in or August. Sometimes they do it during the season.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Uh.
- 3:08Speaker 7: Well, we're a little bit in like the wake of
- 3:10Speaker 7: Tom Brady Knight, which was unique and completely its own things.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Now that has to stay its own right again.
- 3:18Speaker 8: Are we're going back to in the atrium over there.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Or that would make my vote is to go back
- 3:24Speaker 1: on the plaza.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I think just a great venue.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Just bang it out. You know, you've got the people
- 3:28Speaker 5: sitting on the stairs and people down it. Really it's
- 3:30Speaker 5: a good look. You've got the built in stage right there.
- 3:34Speaker 5: I think it's perfect, and you know it would be
- 3:38Speaker 5: a great event. Obviously it's not gonna be Brady, but
- 3:41Speaker 5: Brady has to stay Brady.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll never equal that.
- 3:45Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean Bill's will be probably something special onto
- 3:49Speaker 7: itself when it eventually happens. I don't know what it
- 3:51Speaker 7: would be, but I mean I think that Elman's would
- 3:53Speaker 7: be a good time.
- 3:54Speaker 1: That'sact.
- 3:55Speaker 8: He's gonna be sure.
- 3:56Speaker 7: Kronk will be here, ready to ready to party, and
- 3:58Speaker 7: absolutely Cronk will go in next year.
- 4:00Speaker 8: So it's too bad you can't do.
- 4:01Speaker 5: I think whatever you do, you have to be able
- 4:03Speaker 5: to take advantage of Edelman's personality and if Gronk comes,
- 4:06Speaker 5: take advantage of him and the two of them together,
- 4:09Speaker 5: maybe you recreate their podcast right there in the stage.
- 4:12Speaker 8: Dudes, have them do it on dudes on stage at
- 4:15Speaker 8: the Hall of Fame.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Again, it is not a great name due that dude.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Depends on your perspective, you know, I guess can.
- 4:23Speaker 7: I ask you, guys, what was your impressions that Julian
- 4:25Speaker 7: Edelman as a young seventh round draft pick when he
- 4:28Speaker 7: arrived here and he and did he ping your radar
- 4:30Speaker 7: at all? Was just another kid? You're like, oh, a
- 4:32Speaker 7: seventh rounder, they're going to try to make it.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Cuably one of the worst first impressions that we've really
- 4:39Speaker 3: for a player that ended up being significant, you know,
- 4:41Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not talking about guys that you know,
- 4:45Speaker 3: didn't look good. Three weeks later they were cut, never
- 4:47Speaker 3: heard from again. This is a guy who obviously went
- 4:49Speaker 3: on to have a long career eleven years, twelve year career. Tough,
- 4:55Speaker 3: training camp, tough this time of year. The OTAs slipping
- 4:59Speaker 3: a lot on the field, dropping punts everywhere, like, looked
- 5:03Speaker 3: like a guy who was trying to figure out all
- 5:07Speaker 3: these different things that he was being asked to do
- 5:08Speaker 3: that were sort of new because he was a quarterback.
- 5:11Speaker 3: So we want you to learn how to run routes
- 5:13Speaker 3: and be a wide receiver. We're gonna have you be
- 5:15Speaker 3: a return guy, jack of all trades. And I think
- 5:18Speaker 3: he was trying to do too much too fast. You
- 5:20Speaker 3: need to sort of slow down. But initially it was rough.
- 5:25Speaker 1: It was rough, and.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Once he got on the field in a position, then
- 5:28Speaker 5: that was different. Well it was a little different. But injuries,
- 5:31Speaker 5: you know, kept kind of you know, stunting his growth
- 5:34Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 5:35Speaker 7: I think he broke his arm his first year, remember
- 5:37Speaker 7: him spiking with his left I remember how he was
- 5:39Speaker 7: having a good game in Baltimore one year and he
- 5:41Speaker 7: got hurt and then finally you know, he got his rhythm.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, But once he got to training camp, I mean,
- 5:49Speaker 3: once he got to the preseason, like it was immediate,
- 5:53Speaker 3: unbelievable first impression, right, you know, and he takes the
- 5:56Speaker 3: punt back for a touchdown. So from from like May
- 5:59Speaker 3: to July, amazing how fast. You know, Andy and I
- 6:02Speaker 3: were like, wow, is that the same guy that couldn't
- 6:05Speaker 3: catch the ball like a month ago, And all of
- 6:08Speaker 3: a sudden he just started making plays. And that's what
- 6:10Speaker 3: I think made him a little bit different, a little
- 6:13Speaker 3: bit special. There's a lot of players like, you know,
- 6:17Speaker 3: you get lathered up, you know, like I need some touches.
- 6:20Speaker 3: You know, I'm a running back. I can't just get
- 6:22Speaker 3: three or four carries. But once I once I get
- 6:24Speaker 3: fifteen or twenty carries, I'm going to start. Julian didn't
- 6:27Speaker 3: need that. He was one of those guys that he
- 6:30Speaker 3: was called upon, you know, a couple of times that
- 6:33Speaker 3: first two three four years when Welco was still here,
- 6:36Speaker 3: they called on him occasionally, and he almost always made
- 6:39Speaker 3: the play. When he was asked to make a play,
- 6:42Speaker 3: he went in and made a play and then he
- 6:44Speaker 3: would be out for a while. And like Fred said,
- 6:46Speaker 3: he had to deal with all the injuries and stuff,
- 6:47Speaker 3: so he was constantly starting and stopping, but it didn't
- 6:50Speaker 3: stop him from contributing when giving the opportunity. That's what
- 6:53Speaker 3: I thought.
- 6:54Speaker 5: And there was one year I think it was the
- 6:57Speaker 5: year at the year that we drafted high Tower in
- 7:01Speaker 5: Chandler Jones, and I think that was there that Bill said, Okay,
- 7:06Speaker 5: Edelman's going to start and Overwhelker. Remember that, and then
- 7:10Speaker 5: he got don't and then Welker came had to come
- 7:12Speaker 5: back in.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Don't remember Edelman starting over Whelker. I remember Aaron Hernandez
- 7:16Speaker 3: taking that role over Whelker and that not working out,
- 7:19Speaker 3: But I don't remember that.
- 7:21Speaker 5: I just remember, like you know, Edelman was in there.
- 7:25Speaker 5: It's like, oh, okay, they're gonna they're going to start
- 7:28Speaker 5: using Edelman and I think he got hurt again.
- 7:30Speaker 7: And yeah, it's such a unique career first to be
- 7:34Speaker 7: drafted as a quarterback that they then converted to a
- 7:36Speaker 7: wide receiver. I remember that. I think it was second
- 7:39Speaker 7: week of two thousand and nine. Welker was out and
- 7:42Speaker 7: I remember el Edelman getting in there and playing and
- 7:44Speaker 7: being surprised that this kid was going to be able
- 7:47Speaker 7: to play in the signing what you guys call it
- 7:52Speaker 7: no grease sport, and then he's a little under the
- 7:55Speaker 7: radar there in ten eleven twelve of them played some defense,
- 7:59Speaker 7: which you.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Know, so he was a lot of defense in eleven
- 8:02Speaker 3: like around.
- 8:03Speaker 7: But I have so many more distinct memories of Julian
- 8:07Speaker 7: Edelman over Wes Welker. I didn't want it to get
- 8:09Speaker 7: into a comparison of the two. I love Wes Welker.
- 8:11Speaker 7: I think he should be in the Hall of Fame comparison.
- 8:13Speaker 7: But when I think about specific moments in a career,
- 8:17Speaker 7: I can think of so many for Julian we Welker
- 8:19Speaker 7: was like, hey, nine passes, caught nine passes, you know,
- 8:22Speaker 7: Like I just seem like he always caught nine passes.
- 8:23Speaker 7: But Edelman had just so many famous catches that stick
- 8:27Speaker 7: out in my mind, so many famous and I don't
- 8:29Speaker 7: even know why, like all of them, like the left
- 8:32Speaker 7: handed spike against the Colts his rookie year when he
- 8:34Speaker 7: came back and had to play with an injury, that
- 8:37Speaker 7: come back in twenty thirteen against the Broncos, where he
- 8:39Speaker 7: from a spiked one that was kind of his coming
- 8:41Speaker 7: out party. But you know, we spent so much time
- 8:44Speaker 7: trying to figure out, like why can no receivers get
- 8:46Speaker 7: it in the system. And he was just such an
- 8:47Speaker 7: interesting player who it took a little while for him
- 8:51Speaker 7: to really get it. It took a little while for him
- 8:52Speaker 7: to get an opportunity, and thirteen year or twelve, he
- 8:54Speaker 7: went in the offseason to talk to the Giants.
- 8:56Speaker 8: He could have left, and they were able to keep him.
- 8:59Speaker 7: And then you know, it almost becomes like unconscionable to
- 9:01Speaker 7: think of, like sixteen seventeen, like letting Julian Edelman walk,
- 9:04Speaker 7: like you had your guy right here. So I just
- 9:07Speaker 7: such an interesting journey and he was such an interesting.
- 9:10Speaker 5: His playoff performances speak for themselves. I mean, that's what
- 9:15Speaker 5: got him into the Hall of Fame for the Patriots.
- 9:18Speaker 5: Just just amazing productivity in those games, taking big hits.
- 9:22Speaker 7: I mean, how many third down catches did he have
- 9:25Speaker 7: in Super Bowls where it's you take back any one
- 9:28Speaker 7: of those one plays and they have one or two,
- 9:30Speaker 7: maybe even three less titles with his contributions in those games.
- 9:33Speaker 4: So he has multiple plays in his career that are
- 9:38Speaker 4: maybe some of the best plays in Patriots playoff history
- 9:42Speaker 4: in that run, I mean, the Cam Chancellor hit over
- 9:45Speaker 4: the middle against Seattle is just you know, that kind
- 9:49Speaker 4: of encapitulates everything with him. But he scores the game.
- 9:52Speaker 4: When he touchdown against Seattle, he's pointing to the to
- 9:55Speaker 4: Brady points to McDaniels, and you know that catches iconic
- 9:58Speaker 4: that obviously they want to again as Atlanta's iconic, like
- 10:02Speaker 4: the touchdown pass against Baltimore in the playoffs and fourteen iconic,
- 10:06Speaker 4: Like you don't have a lot of guys that are
- 10:09Speaker 4: that aren't quarterbacks that are able to have that kind
- 10:12Speaker 4: of resume of just you know, stand out plays like him.
- 10:15Speaker 4: But to Paul's point about how he started, like that's
- 10:19Speaker 4: what I feel like everybody fall fell in love with
- 10:21Speaker 4: Julian Edelman was because he was the underdog and or whatever.
- 10:25Speaker 4: We love the underdog here.
- 10:27Speaker 3: He was always ready and that's what really impressed me
- 10:30Speaker 3: about him. You guys know enough the way I talk
- 10:32Speaker 3: about receivers that that's not really my kind of receiver, right, yeah, sure,
- 10:36Speaker 3: So for me to talk about guys like Welker and
- 10:38Speaker 3: Edelman the way I do in Troy Brown, this there's
- 10:42Speaker 3: there's a skill set there and just a reliability that
- 10:46Speaker 3: those three guys all had in common, Like they just
- 10:49Speaker 3: were so dependable and they came through every single time.
- 10:53Speaker 3: And that's Evan's right about the plays that you remember
- 10:57Speaker 3: in the playoffs. You know, those kinds of moments for
- 11:00Speaker 3: for Edelman, that's what made him stand out.
- 11:02Speaker 5: I mean, ultimate team guy, you know, always alert into
- 11:07Speaker 5: the game on the sideline, talking to his teammates. Just
- 11:12Speaker 5: you know, that mental toughness that he had is what
- 11:16Speaker 5: you know had him overcome everything else. You know, his
- 11:19Speaker 5: size and every you know, he wasn't the fastest guy,
- 11:22Speaker 5: he wasn't the biggest guy, but he just had that
- 11:25Speaker 5: mental toughness, that competitive nature that you know, that's what
- 11:29Speaker 5: you want all your players to have.
- 11:31Speaker 4: He was incredibly strong for his size, and I remember
- 11:34Speaker 4: players like comparing him to like a UFC fighter in
- 11:37Speaker 4: terms of just like pound for pound strength and his
- 11:41Speaker 4: conditioning and how he would just kind of just bump
- 11:45Speaker 4: you off of routes and things like that, you know, subtly,
- 11:48Speaker 4: and he just wouldn't notice or think that it was
- 11:51Speaker 4: going to be as strong of a blow as it was.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Or you know, him blocking in the run game too,
- 11:56Speaker 4: which was a big part of that role in the offense.
- 11:59Speaker 4: So I feel like that was probably one of the
- 12:02Speaker 4: more underrated traits of his was his play strength and
- 12:05Speaker 4: his ability to just make a room for himself, you know,
- 12:07Speaker 4: over the middle of the field, especially at the top
- 12:10Speaker 4: of routes. You know, obviously his quickness stands out and
- 12:12Speaker 4: things like that too, but just his play strength was
- 12:15Speaker 4: was something that talking to people that faced him would
- 12:19Speaker 4: always bring up, like, you know, it's underrated that he's
- 12:21Speaker 4: really strong at the top of the rod.
- 12:23Speaker 5: If you look at all the you know, the three
- 12:25Speaker 5: big slot receivers for the Patriots, Edelman, Troy Brown, and Welker,
- 12:30Speaker 5: a lot of them was stronger than you give them.
- 12:33Speaker 4: You know, people knew, yeah they're really good.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Yeah, Welker could break tackles like.
- 12:38Speaker 3: All three of them had. I would say what Evan's
- 12:41Speaker 3: talking about. Edelman may have had the most out of
- 12:43Speaker 3: those three in terms of play strength, but I think
- 12:45Speaker 3: all three of them were good blockers. You know, it's
- 12:47Speaker 3: no secret two of those guys played defense too, because
- 12:49Speaker 3: Troy Brown did it before Edelman did it. Yeah, they
- 12:52Speaker 3: were football players.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Yeah, yep, So that that's that happened a couple of
- 12:58Speaker 5: days ago, so congratuate relations, Julian Edelman or it happened yesterday. Yeah, yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 5: let's track of time around here very easily.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I do like that, you know, back to the ceremony.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I I do like that venue of the plaza. I
- 13:14Speaker 3: think it looks great. I think the backdrop is great.
- 13:16Speaker 3: You see people lined up up the stairs, you know,
- 13:19Speaker 3: and I think it should be kind of an intimate thing. Yeah,
- 13:22Speaker 3: you know, but I'm sure we'll get overruled on that.
- 13:25Speaker 5: I mean, you know, I think it's really cool, like
- 13:27Speaker 5: you could be just happen to be a patriot place
- 13:29Speaker 5: on a day and having it. It's like, whoa, I
- 13:31Speaker 5: can just go to this. They could just you know,
- 13:34Speaker 5: pop in, which I think is really cool.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, definitely that bad aspect of it. You know,
- 13:40Speaker 4: it's usually free and you can just kind of show
- 13:42Speaker 4: up and you know, have a pretty good seat a
- 13:46Speaker 4: pretty good view of the stage, like you don't, you know,
- 13:48Speaker 4: I always have that if you're in the stadium and
- 13:50Speaker 4: you have a seat that's pretty far away from where
- 13:53Speaker 4: the stage is set up and everything. So I agree
- 13:56Speaker 4: with you, guys, I think that's the best spot.
- 13:58Speaker 5: And then in addition to that, they would still like
- 14:00Speaker 5: pick a halftime right where they bring them out.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, usually early on in the season. I remember
- 14:07Speaker 4: obviously Rabel's halftime was pretty well documented what exactly he
- 14:12Speaker 4: had to say during that, So I don't think the
- 14:16Speaker 4: Titans were too No.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Might make an argument that that's the reason why Mike
- 14:21Speaker 3: Rabels now the Patriots.
- 14:23Speaker 5: But you know, I did get a lot of emails
- 14:26Speaker 5: from people, and I see a lot of comments like
- 14:28Speaker 5: some people are upset that Vinitary didn't go in first.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I agree with that. I gain that is the common
- 14:37Speaker 3: interaction I've had, that the people are upset. But I mean, again,
- 14:41Speaker 3: we're dealing with all Lucke Hall of famers. Yeah, so
- 14:45Speaker 3: I'm not going to lose much sleep over the order
- 14:47Speaker 3: that these guys get in. I agree with you, Fred.
- 14:50Speaker 3: To me, this would have been Edelman by far right,
- 14:53Speaker 3: I mean, Vinitari by far But you know, as long
- 14:57Speaker 3: as they all get in, which I'm not so sure
- 14:59Speaker 3: is going to happened, But as long as they all
- 15:01Speaker 3: get in, I wouldn't have any You.
- 15:02Speaker 5: Know, next year, Gronk's going to be eligible, so then
- 15:04Speaker 5: you know, you imagine that Vinitaria will get nominated again,
- 15:07Speaker 5: and it'll be going up against Gronk, and so he
- 15:11Speaker 5: might have to wait a little bit.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, I mean there's a recency bias there obviously,
- 15:16Speaker 4: And I think I would have voted for Vinitary personally,
- 15:20Speaker 4: but I could have. Well I did, but I'm just saying, well,
- 15:23Speaker 4: here's what that's a better way to put it.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I would have.
- 15:25Speaker 4: I did vote.
- 15:27Speaker 5: They might already be doing this, but here's what I'm
- 15:29Speaker 5: going to suggest going forward, is they make a special
- 15:34Speaker 5: appeal to season ticket holders to vote, because a lot
- 15:38Speaker 5: of our season ticket holders, the people who actually own
- 15:40Speaker 5: the account, are older, and so they would have that
- 15:43Speaker 5: appreciation for the early two thousand people.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Make sure they all vote.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Whatever it is in a newsletter or you know, a
- 15:50Speaker 5: personal letter, you know, asking them to vote, to make
- 15:55Speaker 5: sure you get that older vote out there.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, it just it is what it is.
- 15:59Speaker 4: I know. I we talked about our preferences for Vinetaria,
- 16:03Speaker 4: you know, on the show before when you guys did
- 16:05Speaker 4: the committee me.
- 16:07Speaker 5: I mean, big Head had a survey just today and
- 16:09Speaker 5: like seventy percent said.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Yah, So I don't know if I said this. There
- 16:13Speaker 3: were a lot of people that reached out to me
- 16:15Speaker 3: and were kind of annoyed.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Yeah, so I don't know, like what what happened.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I wish I could say I were supreme.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I know you you were on at Paul you.
- 16:24Speaker 5: I I thought that the fans would I think the
- 16:27Speaker 5: way I was thinking and say, okay, Vinitary first.
- 16:30Speaker 3: A difference between me and you. I don't tell people
- 16:32Speaker 3: how they should think. I thought they would think.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Like me, right, I did.
- 16:36Speaker 5: I thought that they would because I'm I'm I'm a fan,
- 16:39Speaker 5: you know, I look at it as a fan. And
- 16:41Speaker 5: let's get Vinetarian first. You know, all the things he
- 16:44Speaker 5: did started off the dynasty and Edelman will have his day,
- 16:48Speaker 5: Gronk will have his day. But you know, where everything
- 16:53Speaker 5: is equal, let's just do it in chronological order.
- 16:56Speaker 7: I think it's hard hard on the Edelman has a
- 16:58Speaker 7: platform of the podcast, and I mean he's still on
- 17:01Speaker 7: the cutting edge, and you know, Venetarians a little bit
- 17:03Speaker 7: out of the out of the off the.
- 17:05Speaker 8: Beaten path now being out of the league a little bit.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Well, it's just a combination too of like fans that
- 17:09Speaker 4: are my age and younger that that didn't really live
- 17:13Speaker 4: those years, as well as other people. But then also
- 17:17Speaker 4: fans that jumped on the bandwagon once the Patriots became
- 17:20Speaker 4: the Patriots and started really being fans, you know, four
- 17:23Speaker 4: h five or somewhere around along that line. And then
- 17:27Speaker 4: at that point vinitari is is not really on the
- 17:29Speaker 4: team anymore. Right, So it's from both angles. But you know,
- 17:34Speaker 4: for my generation of Patriots fans, there's no doubt about
- 17:37Speaker 4: it that, you know, I connect more with Edelman and
- 17:41Speaker 4: Gronk and high Tower and mccordy and you know, those
- 17:45Speaker 4: players and that generation of team. But it doesn't mean
- 17:49Speaker 4: I do you think it matter?
- 17:51Speaker 5: Do you think as a fan of any team there's
- 17:53Speaker 5: a responsibility to know its history?
- 17:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I would agree.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Like I'm not.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Arguing that Ted Williams was a great Red Sox or
- 18:02Speaker 5: you know, Jojo White was a great Celtic.
- 18:06Speaker 3: You know, But can I ask you a question, and
- 18:08Speaker 3: I'm not trying I'm not trying to start debate.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Start it up.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Do you think it's like ridiculous that Edelman got in
- 18:15Speaker 3: before Vinetato.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I don't think it's ridiculous. I don't think it's ridiculous.
- 18:19Speaker 3: I don't necessarily need to take shot. I mean, this
- 18:21Speaker 3: is going to come as a shocker. T people who
- 18:23Speaker 3: have listened to me over the years. I don't like
- 18:26Speaker 3: the fans chose.
- 18:28Speaker 1: No, I'm not thinking shy.
- 18:30Speaker 3: There were four guys that are just absolute no brainer candidates.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just surprised, that's all. I'm just surprised.
- 18:36Speaker 5: I'm a little surprised that people aren't thinking about it
- 18:39Speaker 5: the way I'm thinking about it.
- 18:40Speaker 3: But it's not And I'm not going to get disrespectful
- 18:44Speaker 3: because I've done that in the past and I always
- 18:46Speaker 3: feel bad about it later. But it's not like some
- 18:48Speaker 3: of the missteps that have been made in previous years. Yeah,
- 18:51Speaker 3: where a guy who got in was kind of a
- 18:53Speaker 3: borderline candidate to begin with and got in over a
- 18:55Speaker 3: guy who was in the Pro Football Hall of Fame
- 18:57Speaker 3: and Richard Seymour.
- 18:58Speaker 5: No, and I'm not saying that the pro says should
- 19:00Speaker 5: be changed either. And for those people who don't know,
- 19:03Speaker 5: there's a committee that meets once a year. They nominate
- 19:06Speaker 5: three people to be then presented to the fans for
- 19:11Speaker 5: a fan vote, and it's one hundred percent of fan vote.
- 19:14Speaker 5: I don't think that process should be changed, but I
- 19:18Speaker 5: just I was just surprised that fans didn't say, yeah, Vinitary.
- 19:22Speaker 7: First Yeah, when did you guys, when did these start
- 19:25Speaker 7: the Hall of Fame start putting people into the Hall
- 19:27Speaker 7: of Fame?
- 19:28Speaker 8: Like what years?
- 19:28Speaker 3: Well, see, that's the problem of six, six or seven? Well,
- 19:32Speaker 3: when was the first year of the committee?
- 19:33Speaker 5: Yeah, the committee I think was back then. I think
- 19:36Speaker 5: because Patriot Place had been or was being built at
- 19:40Speaker 5: the time. That was seven anyway. But the problem the
- 19:45Speaker 5: Sullivan started the Hall of Fame prior. So they created
- 19:48Speaker 5: like a Hall of Fame and retired some numbers, and
- 19:52Speaker 5: big mistake. Not that a lot of those people shouldn't
- 19:55Speaker 5: be in the pages Hall of Fame, but it's tough
- 19:58Speaker 5: for a franchise to start doing hall all the things
- 20:00Speaker 5: before the team has accomplished anything.
- 20:02Speaker 7: That's what I was gonna say, you know, because even
- 20:04Speaker 7: at that point you were, I mean, you knew you
- 20:06Speaker 7: were in the middle of success. You would won three
- 20:07Speaker 7: Super Bowls. But I mean, not every team retires a
- 20:10Speaker 7: player every year into their own team hall of Fame, Like,
- 20:12Speaker 7: not every team has that kind of talent pool where
- 20:16Speaker 7: and when.
- 20:17Speaker 5: You do that and then your team finally does have success,
- 20:20Speaker 5: then you look back at those people and they really
- 20:22Speaker 5: shouldn't be with these people, you know, So you have
- 20:25Speaker 5: to be careful about that.
- 20:26Speaker 4: It's crazy to think about it that way, Douce, because
- 20:28Speaker 4: we're arguing about two very worthy candidates. Other teams might
- 20:32Speaker 4: not have a single candidate that's worthy, so they just
- 20:34Speaker 4: skip it all together. But you know the point about
- 20:37Speaker 4: the history. I'm trying to catch up with Celtic City
- 20:40Speaker 4: and watch as much of it as I can, and
- 20:42Speaker 4: at some point I do hope that there's a version
- 20:44Speaker 4: of that for the Patriots where it truly takes you
- 20:47Speaker 4: through not the gossip and all that stuff, but the
- 20:50Speaker 4: actual football of it all.
- 20:52Speaker 1: You want a wedding video.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Yeah, And but like even like going back to like
- 20:56Speaker 4: John Hannah and you know, like the teams in the
- 20:58Speaker 4: seventies and things like that, because honestly, right now, there
- 21:01Speaker 4: isn't anything that really tells the story of like, you know,
- 21:05Speaker 4: I know that there were some really bad years, but
- 21:07Speaker 4: there are also years where they were a good team.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Those late seventies teams were roaded the right.
- 21:12Speaker 3: I would just push back and say, I really do
- 21:14Speaker 3: believe every team has one guy worthy of being in
- 21:17Speaker 3: the Hall of Fame every year.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Every year.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Yeah now, yeah, now, but the one exception I would
- 21:24Speaker 3: make is for newer franchises, Like if you've only been
- 21:28Speaker 3: around for fifteen to twenty years, you know the Texans
- 21:31Speaker 3: would go two. Okay, so maybe the Texans don't yet
- 21:35Speaker 3: have a guy, but teams that have been around for
- 21:37Speaker 3: fifty plus years have a guy. I mean, like, I
- 21:40Speaker 3: can give you guys that played in those teams that
- 21:43Speaker 3: aren't ever going to sniff the Hall of Fame that
- 21:45Speaker 3: are Hall of Fame worthy, Team hall of Fame worthy. Yeah, Like,
- 21:49Speaker 3: I think there's a difference. You've said this a lot, Fred,
- 21:51Speaker 3: and I agree with you. There's a difference between the
- 21:53Speaker 3: team Hall of Fame and greatness. Like the Pro Football
- 21:56Speaker 3: Hall of Fame is the great of the great right,
- 21:59Speaker 3: But like players like Fred Marion and Mosey Totupu and
- 22:05Speaker 3: you know, guys like that, they're worthy of a team
- 22:08Speaker 3: Hall of Fame record, Matthew Slater, those are team Hall
- 22:11Speaker 3: of Fame worthy players, even though that they're not right
- 22:14Speaker 3: the greats of the greats who have ever done a
- 22:16Speaker 3: football field, you know, Like, I think every team has that.
- 22:20Speaker 5: Yeah, but I see, I'm I I agree that the
- 22:23Speaker 5: criteria for teams different than pro but I still think
- 22:27Speaker 5: I'm still a small Hall guy even.
- 22:29Speaker 7: For team Well, he's just I mean, do you think
- 22:31Speaker 7: you're going to get to a place ever with the Patriots?
- 22:33Speaker 8: And granted they have a backlog.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Of where seven by the way.
- 22:37Speaker 7: But do you get to a point where you're kind
- 22:39Speaker 7: of saying yourself, I don't know.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I feel like you know, I mean, unless you.
- 22:47Speaker 8: Bomer and you know at a.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Ship sales, there's two of those already in you.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I'll take I'll take the Jets for example.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Okay, so they won a Super Bowl back in sixty
- 22:58Speaker 5: nine or whatever it was, right, and they put web
- 23:01Speaker 5: U Bank, who was the coach, in their Hall of Fame,
- 23:03Speaker 5: you know, their Ring of Honor or whatever it is.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I don't think he should be. I really don't, you know,
- 23:11Speaker 1: you know, because like, okay, so he coached that team.
- 23:14Speaker 7: But other than that, like right, well, I mean, you know,
- 23:16Speaker 7: the Jets just a very little success.
- 23:19Speaker 5: Well that's even to the point like you can't force
- 23:21Speaker 5: feed it, you force feeded.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Like you tell me that they don't have fifty great
- 23:26Speaker 3: players in their history.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Well, I don't know. I haven't gone down their rosters
- 23:29Speaker 1: over the time, but probably not.
- 23:31Speaker 3: That's ridiculous.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Probably not.
- 23:32Speaker 3: That's just ridiculous.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Ryan, No, he wouldn't know. I wouldn't. I don't know.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I wouldn't have Ryan, but I have you banks In
- 23:39Speaker 3: you would of course these kinds of guys that were
- 23:44Speaker 3: great players for them, like absolutely, I don't know, like
- 23:49Speaker 3: the storied quote unquote, I do that with quotes because
- 23:52Speaker 3: they've never really won anything, the storied history of the Jets.
- 23:56Speaker 3: But every team has great players. I mean you just
- 23:59Speaker 3: like when I just said Hugh and you mean Kevin
- 24:02Speaker 3: Kevin Mawai, Like how many times is he your Pro
- 24:04Speaker 3: Bowl and All pros?
- 24:05Speaker 1: Right?
- 24:06Speaker 3: Is he not worthy of any consideration? Nick Mangold, No,
- 24:11Speaker 3: like like I mean, there's no Kevin Falk or anything.
- 24:18Speaker 1: But I mean for a team hall of Fame, but
- 24:20Speaker 1: I might I might even argue with that, you know you.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Might, yeah, but while you're talking, you should you would
- 24:27Speaker 3: want half of the Patriots Hall of Fame.
- 24:29Speaker 5: That's kind of my point, Paul. You know, so for
- 24:32Speaker 5: a team that only like won one Super Bowl and
- 24:36Speaker 5: like they've been around for how many years now sixty
- 24:39Speaker 5: or something like that and.
- 24:40Speaker 4: They've only won one time, that's pretty bad.
- 24:41Speaker 5: You know, And I don't think that they have sixty
- 24:44Speaker 5: people worthy of their team Hall of Fame.
- 24:47Speaker 3: I don't, that's silly. I don't if you have to
- 24:49Speaker 3: win a Super Bowl to be worried Hall of Fame.
- 24:51Speaker 8: I just a couple of Camarti's kids.
- 24:54Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, right, you've got like nine kids, Keshawn Johnson.
- 25:00Speaker 3: If yet to name a players not better than two
- 25:03Speaker 3: guys that are in the Patriots Hall of Fame and
- 25:07Speaker 3: two guys that we voted into the Patriots Hall of Fame,
- 25:10Speaker 3: I'm ashamed to say.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Oh, should Bill Parcells?
- 25:15Speaker 3: Oh Jets? Yeah, probably guys.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Bill Parcells just gets into every Hall of.
- 25:22Speaker 8: Fame, Big Tuna, You're easy.
- 25:25Speaker 3: When was the last time they had success that wasn't
- 25:27Speaker 3: involving him?
- 25:29Speaker 1: I'm well, Rex Ryan, they did pretty well.
- 25:33Speaker 8: Championships.
- 25:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I would say he had equal success to Parcels.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Okay, you can make that argument, you know, so both
- 25:40Speaker 3: of them are out. Yeah yeah, I mean you can
- 25:42Speaker 3: make that argument. That's a good argument. Okay, thank you.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I'm not completely unbending.
- 25:47Speaker 7: Then he tested Birdie probably be in there too for them.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Not for you guys. No, no, no, I just think that.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I mean, let's put in Tom tupaunt it too.
- 25:59Speaker 3: I thread, dull thread, we should put Tom tu Bran
- 26:03Speaker 3: for the Patriots for twenty minutes.
- 26:04Speaker 5: You know a certain person would do it.
- 26:09Speaker 3: We could get get me to a bad place where
- 26:11Speaker 3: I can get even on the ballot. You're taking into
- 26:15Speaker 3: a bad place.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Now he was on my ballot.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I know he was, Fred, but for different reasons. Really
- 26:21Speaker 3: you were no socks, were trying to do something.
- 26:23Speaker 1: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Justice for West. Well, yeah, I know it's a bad pass, all.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, Now he should have caught it.
- 26:32Speaker 4: It's a bit of both.
- 26:33Speaker 1: It was a bit of both.
- 26:35Speaker 3: He should he should He definitely should have caught it.
- 26:37Speaker 1: It could have been it was behind him, face it.
- 26:39Speaker 4: If it hits him and a touchdown, it's a bad
- 26:41Speaker 4: that's a bad pass.
- 26:42Speaker 3: But he should have caught it. I'd like to think
- 26:47Speaker 3: the four thousand other catches that he had would have
- 26:49Speaker 3: overshadowed the one that he is. But I'm wrong.
- 26:51Speaker 5: That's wh Just look at Welker's numbers for crying out loud.
- 26:55Speaker 3: I mean, in half the amount of seasons, he had
- 26:57Speaker 3: better production than Edelman in literally half of the amount
- 27:00Speaker 3: of seasons.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Well, whether it's true or not, every single time you
- 27:05Speaker 4: bring up this argument between the two of them. Everybody
- 27:07Speaker 4: says it Element makes that catch, and I don't know
- 27:10Speaker 4: if he does.
- 27:11Speaker 3: But unless I were watching the Atlanta game, except for
- 27:13Speaker 3: the little fingertip catch, yeah, because I might say, no, man,
- 27:16Speaker 3: he might have dropped it like he didn't know in
- 27:17Speaker 3: that game.
- 27:18Speaker 4: I'm just saying that's what they won that.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Game, the playoffs. They won that game.
- 27:22Speaker 4: That's it.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Welco was pretty clutching the playoffs. I don't if you
- 27:27Speaker 3: look at his numbers, they're pretty comparable that.
- 27:29Speaker 4: I don't disagree, but that's always the that's always the argument.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Just an half the amount of games.
- 27:34Speaker 8: Probably to the MVP.
- 27:35Speaker 11: Right.
- 27:36Speaker 5: See the difference between ten for one oh three team
- 27:39Speaker 5: Welker on those Patriots teams and other great players on
- 27:44Speaker 5: teams that didn't have the playoffs of six Welker's. Welker's
- 27:49Speaker 5: performances got the Patriots into playoffs, won them playoff games,
- 27:54Speaker 5: and yes they didn't win a Super Bowl, but during
- 27:57Speaker 5: Welker's era, they were still winning on a regular base.
- 28:00Speaker 5: They were still annual contenders for the AFC Championship because.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Of they were in the AFC Championship because.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Of the contributions of Welker. I mean he was the
- 28:09Speaker 5: guy that was moving the sticks and.
- 28:10Speaker 3: The other part of that that I always hate because
- 28:12Speaker 3: whenever you get into these kinds of things, it comes
- 28:15Speaker 3: across as well, he's a Welker guy. That means he
- 28:17Speaker 3: hates Edelman.
- 28:18Speaker 1: No, nope, no, nope.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Edelman to me is a no brain. That's why I'm
- 28:22Speaker 3: not overly offended that Edelman got in before Vinitary. No,
- 28:26Speaker 3: I'm not a because that meant, to me, is a
- 28:27Speaker 3: no brainer Patriots Hall of Famer. There's no argument to
- 28:31Speaker 3: be made against him. So I don't want to make
- 28:33Speaker 3: this sound like no. I think Welker is a more
- 28:35Speaker 3: worthy candidate, but it doesn't mean that I don't think
- 28:38Speaker 3: they're both. They shouldn't require any thought at all. Yeah,
- 28:41Speaker 3: in my view, they both automatic Halifa.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I agree your guy at all.
- 28:46Speaker 3: I mean your guy unbelievable production.
- 28:48Speaker 1: He claims that, and maybe he's right. I just don't
- 28:50Speaker 1: remember this.
- 28:51Speaker 5: He says that after Vinitary left and every time he
- 28:54Speaker 5: came back to here, fans would boo him, who's my guy?
- 28:58Speaker 3: Felger said that he got he got boot a.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Lot, did he?
- 29:02Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 29:02Speaker 1: I don't remember though, that he was he.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Was the meaning who was looking for money.
- 29:07Speaker 4: That was another thing that I'm not saying right or
- 29:11Speaker 4: wrong again, but a lot of people that I heard
- 29:13Speaker 4: from about this held it against Vinitary that he didn't
- 29:17Speaker 4: play his whole career as with the Patriots versus Edelman,
- 29:20Speaker 4: who was a Fox mister Foxborough forever, and people.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Did that he was looking for money.
- 29:25Speaker 4: And I don't know against him.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I'd already paid.
- 29:27Speaker 5: Him once, you know, a lot for a kicker he want.
- 29:30Speaker 5: It was the second time around, and he wasn't gonna
- 29:33Speaker 5: settle for less.
- 29:33Speaker 1: And like, I don't blame him.
- 29:35Speaker 4: I don't blame him at all, but I think there's
- 29:37Speaker 4: a I think that is why it doesn't necessarily blame him.
- 29:42Speaker 4: But just if you're going up against Edelman, that.
- 29:44Speaker 7: Was Welker going to Denver, right and all above dropping
- 29:48Speaker 7: a pass? Yeah, uh, I just I love both those guys,
- 29:53Speaker 7: and I know that they're both overlooked like white slot receivers.
- 29:56Speaker 7: But like looking at Edelman, you can tell Edelman has
- 29:59Speaker 7: some elite physical talent, like its just eyeball tests, Like
- 30:03Speaker 7: you look at him and like that guy is Like
- 30:05Speaker 7: with Welker, I never got that vibe. Like I look
- 30:07Speaker 7: at Welker, and I'm like, who's this kid from the
- 30:09Speaker 7: high school that they just brought up, which to me
- 30:11Speaker 7: makes it just all the more.
- 30:12Speaker 8: Remarkable how good Wes Welker was because on paper and
- 30:16Speaker 8: just like the eyeball test, he doesn't look good, Amini.
- 30:19Speaker 8: You know, he looks like, who's this tiny kid? He's
- 30:21Speaker 8: gonna get hurt out there, you.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Know, point you look at you look at Edelman, and
- 30:25Speaker 3: you know, especially as he progressed in his career Boneless Chicken,
- 30:30Speaker 3: you know, he started to look a lot bigger, yeah,
- 30:34Speaker 3: you know, thicker, and Welker never had that appearance. Welker
- 30:38Speaker 3: was just a small kid that looked like you could
- 30:39Speaker 3: have played for.
- 30:40Speaker 5: Your Remember is a ninety nine yard touchdown in Miami,
- 30:42Speaker 5: like carrying the ball like one of those too big,
- 30:47Speaker 5: too big, and his helmet was always looked like the
- 30:50Speaker 5: Great Kazillion, you know, for the Flintstone.
- 30:53Speaker 7: I mean, I remember him in seven getting a look
- 30:55Speaker 7: at him right before a punt return and they do
- 30:57Speaker 7: like a close up of his just like guys, you know,
- 31:00Speaker 7: like just so intense waiting for that pint. That's what
- 31:03Speaker 7: I think is I get why everyone loves Edelman. He
- 31:09Speaker 7: came of age now and you know, ages, social media
- 31:11Speaker 7: and all that. But I think it overshadows Wes Welker
- 31:14Speaker 7: and how special he was and how funny was to
- 31:16Speaker 7: watch when he was a patriot.
- 31:17Speaker 8: That that's what's this.
- 31:18Speaker 3: But hopefully this all just gets sort of sorted out
- 31:21Speaker 3: and they figure out maybe how to streamline it a
- 31:24Speaker 3: little bit, because they're all these guys are all worthy
- 31:27Speaker 3: of a day.
- 31:28Speaker 5: Yeah, but I don't think you should start like, oh,
- 31:32Speaker 5: you know, except for Tom Brady, you know, circumventing the process.
- 31:39Speaker 4: Well, you have to circumvent the process for Bill at
- 31:41Speaker 4: some point.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I think those are the two exceptions. That's it.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it. But I it's a tough process because
- 31:50Speaker 4: it should be special, right that like the one a
- 31:52Speaker 4: year makes it special, that it's it's one guy a
- 31:54Speaker 4: year that gets in. But you know, Dud for Vinetary,
- 31:58Speaker 4: it's not going to be this year, it's probably not
- 32:00Speaker 4: going to be next year, and then in twenty twenty seven.
- 32:03Speaker 4: You never know, you know what might come of twenty
- 32:06Speaker 4: twenty seven later.
- 32:07Speaker 3: H mccaudy. I mean, if I don't know what they're
- 32:10Speaker 3: going to do for Bill, but if it's Gronk and
- 32:13Speaker 3: mccaordy and Belichick.
- 32:15Speaker 5: See mccordy and Slater, Yes, they're probably going to be
- 32:19Speaker 5: patriots of all the things. But in those two cases,
- 32:21Speaker 5: I would definitely make the case that Vinitary deserves to
- 32:25Speaker 5: be in.
- 32:25Speaker 3: But I'm just going to tell you that that's not
- 32:27Speaker 3: going to happen. If they're on the same ballt well, that.
- 32:29Speaker 5: Would then then it's not a matter of like preference,
- 32:33Speaker 5: like Vinitary deserves to be in before you know those
- 32:38Speaker 5: two I mean, come.
- 32:39Speaker 3: On, come on, I'm just going to tell you, don't
- 32:42Speaker 3: be don't be surprised if it doesn't happen.
- 32:45Speaker 4: I'd be pretty surprised if Slater gets in over him,
- 32:48Speaker 4: because they're both special teamers, right they Slater, maybe.
- 32:52Speaker 3: It's your recentcy, But Terry could go Berenitarry could go
- 32:55Speaker 3: in over Slater. He ain't going in over mccaorty.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Yeah, probably not, probably not, But like I get you know.
- 33:01Speaker 4: The other argument was not that, like we all know
- 33:04Speaker 4: this is outrageous, but at the end of the day,
- 33:06Speaker 4: in Vinitary was a kicker, right and Edelman was a
- 33:09Speaker 4: wide receiver and played you know, a lot more. Even
- 33:12Speaker 4: though we know how important Vinitary was, So if he
- 33:15Speaker 4: went up against mccordy. I wouldn't be surprised if a
- 33:17Speaker 4: lot of those people felt the same way. You know,
- 33:19Speaker 4: mccordy was.
- 33:20Speaker 3: I mean, Bill did call Vanitary the best player in
- 33:23Speaker 3: the team. Yeah, oh yeah when they won a super
- 33:25Speaker 3: Bowl called long. I think he's wrong, and I think
- 33:31Speaker 3: it was a backhanded way of giving himself the credit,
- 33:35Speaker 3: like I just won the Super Bowl with a team
- 33:36Speaker 3: that the kicker is the best player on. But that's
- 33:38Speaker 3: my psychotic nature that I automatically see things that not
- 33:42Speaker 3: everybody else sees from Bill.
- 33:45Speaker 7: Bill Simmons coming around your psychotic be a way of
- 33:48Speaker 7: looking at Belichick and Brady and how it all ended.
- 33:51Speaker 8: And I think some of.
- 33:52Speaker 7: The recent events from coming out of North Carolina has
- 33:55Speaker 7: made Bill Simmons reevaluate a.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Little bit like hypocritical. I think I said that last week.
- 34:00Speaker 5: Yeah uh, Bill and Carlsbad, California. Paul, please let loose
- 34:04Speaker 5: on the fans. Today's your day. Take the gloves off.
- 34:07Speaker 5: Edelman winning this vote over Adam is a dereliction of
- 34:09Speaker 5: duty for the fan base. If I here one more teenager,
- 34:13Speaker 5: if I here one more teenager, tell me that Adam
- 34:15Speaker 5: just made a couple of kicks in the snow.
- 34:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna lose my mind.
- 34:19Speaker 5: Teenager who says that, I don't think teenager who's saying
- 34:22Speaker 5: I mean, I.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Don't read another email.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Here we go, Oh hey, guess Josh Dobbs, I'm Frank Kersh.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Come on there, yeah, have a seat. We were just
- 34:42Speaker 1: in the middle of a Patriots Hall of Fame debate.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Anything good. Well, Julian Edelman, uh just got in.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Everybody agrees that he's most deserving, but there's Adam Vina
- 34:53Speaker 5: Terry was also up and here. The way they do it,
- 34:56Speaker 5: it's a fan vote, So the committee nominates three people
- 34:59Speaker 5: in the fans vote on it.
- 35:01Speaker 1: And Edelman one, which is great.
- 35:02Speaker 5: We all love Julian Edelman, but personally, I think Vinitari
- 35:06Speaker 5: should have gone in first. So there's a little bit
- 35:08Speaker 5: of debate out there in Patriot's Nation about it.
- 35:10Speaker 12: I'm sure we'll get in eventually, right, absolutely, he will
- 35:13Speaker 12: take some legendary kicks.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely So.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Now, Josh, on the seventeen teams that you've played on,
- 35:20Speaker 3: did you have these kinds of debates?
- 35:21Speaker 12: I mean, I'm trying to get to thirty two at
- 35:23Speaker 12: this point. Oh no, No, hopefully we'll find a nice ring
- 35:25Speaker 12: in one year, I know, three and one year twice
- 35:29Speaker 12: back to back years.
- 35:30Speaker 8: I think that's a record.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Probably not cool. A lot of different experience it was.
- 35:34Speaker 12: It was definitely unique, definitely, I think what's cool about it, Like,
- 35:36Speaker 12: I know everyone's story is different, but unique. What was
- 35:39Speaker 12: unique about mine is all three of those experiences were
- 35:42Speaker 12: like a growth opportunity, right, Like it was like you're
- 35:44Speaker 12: going from now you're a little crazy of a growth opportunity.
- 35:47Speaker 12: But you know, for instance, the crazy year, you know,
- 35:50Speaker 12: it was you're starting in Cleveland and you're going to
- 35:53Speaker 12: be the two to Deshaun. And now it's like, hey
- 35:54Speaker 12: go start in Arizona. And then it's you know, Kyler's
- 35:57Speaker 12: coming back or Cousins just got injured, Hey go start
- 35:59Speaker 12: in the minutes. So there are all opportunities to grow
- 36:02Speaker 12: and do what I love and be on the field,
- 36:03Speaker 12: which is I did in the day what all of
- 36:05Speaker 12: us competitors love to do.
- 36:06Speaker 7: How do you I just say, how do you get
- 36:08Speaker 7: ready to quarterback a team when you've been there like
- 36:10Speaker 7: a week I think said it happened like twice to you,
- 36:12Speaker 7: you've gone it. I mean, did you learn from the
- 36:14Speaker 7: first time, and then the second time you're like, oh,
- 36:16Speaker 7: I've been here, I've done this before, I know, I
- 36:17Speaker 7: know what I'm doing.
- 36:18Speaker 12: I'm so I got traded to Jacksonville in my third season,
- 36:22Speaker 12: middle of the year, well second second week when Nick
- 36:24Speaker 12: Foles went down, and the goal was like come in
- 36:28Speaker 12: on a Tuesday, then be ready to play on a Sunday.
- 36:30Speaker 12: And that year was Gardner Minshew's rookie season of Minshew Mania.
- 36:34Speaker 1: He went crazy.
- 36:35Speaker 12: So I didn't have to go in and play, but
- 36:37Speaker 12: through that experience I learned like, hey, like you got
- 36:39Speaker 12: four days to get ready, Like how how do you
- 36:41Speaker 12: learn to playbook, dissect it, understand it, meet your teammates,
- 36:44Speaker 12: find a place to live, and then go out and
- 36:46Speaker 12: be ready to play on a Sunday. And so that experience,
- 36:48Speaker 12: even though I didn't have to step out there and
- 36:50Speaker 12: actually play, allowed me to be able to do it
- 36:52Speaker 12: the next two times and actually do it at a
- 36:54Speaker 12: high level.
- 36:55Speaker 5: I mean with all the teams you've been on, and
- 36:58Speaker 5: you said you learned from each one of those, do
- 37:00Speaker 5: you find like you get to a new place like
- 37:02Speaker 5: the Patrons and say, hey, Josh, you know what if
- 37:05Speaker 5: you know we do it a certain way. But if
- 37:07Speaker 5: you've seen things in your journeys that you know, maybe
- 37:10Speaker 5: we could be doing better. Do coaches ever come to
- 37:13Speaker 5: you like for that type of you know, suggestions because
- 37:16Speaker 5: you have so much experience.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Yeah, a little bit, a little bit.
- 37:18Speaker 12: I know each coach, right, they have their own personality
- 37:21Speaker 12: and flair and ways they like to build a culture.
- 37:23Speaker 12: Obviously Braves has done it at a high level. So
- 37:26Speaker 12: for me is learning and there's also a good chance
- 37:29Speaker 12: to get back with him right and see it from
- 37:30Speaker 12: the beginning. I got a chance to join him during
- 37:33Speaker 12: my time in Tennessee very quickly at the end of
- 37:35Speaker 12: the season, and they already obviously built their culture at
- 37:38Speaker 12: that point, and so now it's really cool to see
- 37:41Speaker 12: the foundation blocks of it. And it's a little bit
- 37:43Speaker 12: right like but in the day, you know, I think
- 37:47Speaker 12: in my I've been going to year nine, a lot
- 37:49Speaker 12: of these coaches have you know, double almost triple that
- 37:53Speaker 12: experience and time in the NFL. So yeah, so it's
- 37:57Speaker 12: still I'm still you know, learning from them then trying
- 38:01Speaker 12: my best to grow, learn, improve each day and conquer
- 38:05Speaker 12: a new offense to be able to go out and
- 38:07Speaker 12: execute to play at high level.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Yep, can I ask you your preferences is josh oh Joshua.
- 38:13Speaker 3: We're speaking josh is cool, josh I've seen it written Joshua.
- 38:17Speaker 3: I don't know if that's what you preferred.
- 38:18Speaker 12: No, I always say like I say, I say for
- 38:21Speaker 12: my sake, like josh because people always call me josh
- 38:23Speaker 12: but my mom loves Joshua, so she named me Joshua.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Was Frederick, you know, it's like nobody calls me.
- 38:36Speaker 3: I wanted to ask you a little bit about that
- 38:38Speaker 3: connection with Rabel before you got here, and that was
- 38:40Speaker 3: one of the times that Mike is talking about where
- 38:42Speaker 3: you sort of stepped in and not only you had
- 38:44Speaker 3: to play right away, but with the season on the
- 38:46Speaker 3: line that it was that week, like a couple of
- 38:48Speaker 3: years ago.
- 38:49Speaker 12: Now, it was awesome, honestly, like it was everything that
- 38:51Speaker 12: I wanted, the exact sen s which I wanted to
- 38:53Speaker 12: be put in. You know, at that stage, I was
- 38:55Speaker 12: finishing year six in the NFL and I hadn't had
- 38:57Speaker 12: any significant playing time. I was behind Beenthlisberger for five
- 39:01Speaker 12: years and we know the great quarterback that he was
- 39:02Speaker 12: for the Pittsburgh Steelers, so there wasn't a ton of opportunity.
- 39:05Speaker 12: And then I was in Cleveland and that was the
- 39:07Speaker 12: year they had just paid to Seawan and it was
- 39:09Speaker 12: first year there. And so the end of season came
- 39:11Speaker 12: around and I was in the I was putting in
- 39:13Speaker 12: an awkward situation, but I basically was like, hey, like,
- 39:16Speaker 12: I want to make myself available so that if a
- 39:18Speaker 12: team needs a guy to step in there and play
- 39:20Speaker 12: at the end of the season, like, I want to
- 39:22Speaker 12: show that I'm available. And so Titans gave me a call,
- 39:24Speaker 12: gave me that opportunity, and we stepped in there, man,
- 39:26Speaker 12: and we came one play away from going to the playoffs.
- 39:29Speaker 12: And I and obviously, like looking back on it, you know,
- 39:32Speaker 12: things I could have done to actually win that game.
- 39:33Speaker 12: But I think that experience and the way I handle
- 39:35Speaker 12: it allowed for me to be here and have this
- 39:37Speaker 12: opportunity to hit the ground running.
- 39:39Speaker 8: Here in New England.
- 39:40Speaker 12: So you never know what what one opportunity, how it
- 39:43Speaker 12: made me lead to the next. And I think it's
- 39:45Speaker 12: really cool that, you know, my first opportunity to step
- 39:48Speaker 12: on the field came because of coach Frable. You know,
- 39:50Speaker 12: I hadn't know him, knew him like a week, and
- 39:52Speaker 12: he felt like I gave him the best opportunity to
- 39:54Speaker 12: go out there and win a playoff game. So you know,
- 39:57Speaker 12: I think that speaks to my time in Tennessee, Man,
- 40:00Speaker 12: and you know, not dwelling on the past, but I
- 40:02Speaker 12: think it's a great opportunity to have a lot of
- 40:04Speaker 12: familiar faces, people that know me and have seen what
- 40:07Speaker 12: I can do on on crash course opportunity, and I'll
- 40:11Speaker 12: see like, hey, like let's get in here and learn
- 40:13Speaker 12: understand an offense, the scheme of culture, and see how
- 40:16Speaker 12: you can contribute to the cost.
- 40:18Speaker 5: I think I think you could be a great addition
- 40:20Speaker 5: because there's a lot of young people on this team,
- 40:22Speaker 5: especially on offense, So just having your maturity there and
- 40:25Speaker 5: your experience, I think that's going to be a real
- 40:27Speaker 5: benefit to all of them.
- 40:28Speaker 12: No, I'm and I'm excited about the youth. Like I
- 40:30Speaker 12: think there's a lot of young guys on the team,
- 40:33Speaker 12: but like their their energy is infectious, like their love
- 40:36Speaker 12: for football is infectious. Their talent is really good, Like
- 40:40Speaker 12: it pops off the page just when we're throwing routs
- 40:42Speaker 12: on here out here on the practice field. So I'm excited.
- 40:44Speaker 12: I think with this culture, the scheme, this coaching staff,
- 40:47Speaker 12: and the talent that we have, Man, I'm excited to
- 40:50Speaker 12: see what we're able to do with it.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Just I know it's been a short time, you know,
- 40:54Speaker 4: I haven't had a ton of time together. But what
- 40:55Speaker 4: are your impressions of Drake May and what's it been
- 40:58Speaker 4: like working with him?
- 40:59Speaker 1: It's been good.
- 41:00Speaker 12: Like my first time medium was on the golf course
- 41:01Speaker 12: and he can hit the crap out of golf ball.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Tell you that it's that right, yeah, straight?
- 41:12Speaker 12: But no, he's uh, I would say his energy and
- 41:14Speaker 12: is love for ball like really pops off the page
- 41:16Speaker 12: right when you meet him. Know, we were in here
- 41:18Speaker 12: early as QBS and our our day start at seven am,
- 41:21Speaker 12: and you know he's in here early, bright, smiled, happy,
- 41:24Speaker 12: ready to go, asking great questions. Man leading this team,
- 41:28Speaker 12: and it's been really good to be around him. I
- 41:29Speaker 12: know it's just been six short weeks, but we're growing quickly.
- 41:33Speaker 12: Like coach McDaniel is is holding us to a high standard,
- 41:37Speaker 12: putting a lot on our plate and allowing us the
- 41:40Speaker 12: freedom to push the team, push the offense so that
- 41:43Speaker 12: we can get as much information and as possible before
- 41:46Speaker 12: we get the camp. And it's been really good to
- 41:48Speaker 12: be around him, and I think we have a really
- 41:49Speaker 12: healthy quarterback room. I'm excited to see what we can do.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Are you settling in to the area. I am.
- 41:54Speaker 12: It's been good. I made it to I made it
- 41:57Speaker 12: to the Selfish game last week. It's all close out
- 42:00Speaker 12: the Orlando.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Magic there last night.
- 42:02Speaker 12: I wasn't there last We need some some more good juju.
- 42:05Speaker 12: Pushing for it, trying to make it to a Red
- 42:09Speaker 12: Sox game at some point. That's life, that's the bucket list.
- 42:13Speaker 12: So we're hopping around getting some good food and everything,
- 42:16Speaker 12: mainly in Foxboro during the week but on the weekend,
- 42:19Speaker 12: trying to get at least taste the town a little bit.
- 42:21Speaker 7: Yeah, it worked at the NASA a little bit when
- 42:23Speaker 7: you were down with Jacksonville. You get into some of
- 42:25Speaker 7: the science museums here up here in the North.
- 42:27Speaker 12: Will at some point at some point, definitely. I know
- 42:30Speaker 12: there's a plethora of him, so we'll get a chance
- 42:32Speaker 12: to explore a little bit.
- 42:33Speaker 11: Yeah, in due time.
- 42:34Speaker 1: So you're into space and are you into science fiction movies?
- 42:37Speaker 3: Science?
- 42:38Speaker 8: Yeah, it was just Star Wars day. That's my favorite trilogy.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Have you been watching and or I've not.
- 42:42Speaker 12: I've not watched, and I will say I need to
- 42:45Speaker 12: get on it. I started the first couple episodes a
- 42:48Speaker 12: little slow for me.
- 42:49Speaker 1: But I heard it gets rially. It's for adults. Don't know.
- 42:55Speaker 5: You're looking for, like, you know, Chebacca, he's not in
- 42:59Speaker 5: it yet. You know, you walks and things like that.
- 43:02Speaker 5: You're not going to see that. It's really it's about
- 43:04Speaker 5: plot and how the whole revolution started.
- 43:07Speaker 12: I like that.
- 43:08Speaker 1: It's cool.
- 43:08Speaker 12: I'm gonna get into it. I usually like to wait
- 43:10Speaker 12: for a show to get to like four or five
- 43:12Speaker 12: seasons so I can just binge watch them all. So yeah,
- 43:15Speaker 12: I'll probably wait one more season then I'll really dive
- 43:17Speaker 12: into it. Yeah, big favorite people here, Yeah, favorite Star
- 43:19Speaker 12: Wars movie, the third one for sure. And I think
- 43:22Speaker 12: a sleeper's Rogue one for sure.
- 43:25Speaker 1: That's what and Or is. It's the prequel to exactly, Yeah, exactly.
- 43:28Speaker 8: I think and Or ends right as Rogue one is starting.
- 43:30Speaker 8: So I will get off this now.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Paul, you guys can do.
- 43:35Speaker 8: Can I ask you one more football question?
- 43:36Speaker 4: Though?
- 43:36Speaker 8: Is I think one thing that that we're.
- 43:38Speaker 7: Also curious about is is Josh taking a year off
- 43:41Speaker 7: traveling around to some colleges.
- 43:43Speaker 8: What's he got cooking in the lab?
- 43:45Speaker 4: You know?
- 43:45Speaker 7: What's it been like for you with that new playbook
- 43:48Speaker 7: you've been around, You've had a lot of playbooks. How
- 43:49Speaker 7: is this one stack up with with the challenges of
- 43:52Speaker 7: you know, getting to know the system?
- 43:53Speaker 12: It's cool, like I think, you know anytime, like he's
- 43:57Speaker 12: talking about plays right and you're okay, okay, I see
- 44:00Speaker 12: what we're doing. See we're doing. Then he pulls up
- 44:01Speaker 12: clips of you know, Tom doing it in a Super Bowl.
- 44:04Speaker 12: You're like, all right, I mean I guess this this
- 44:06Speaker 12: offense works pretty well, right, and that that's like what's
- 44:09Speaker 12: cool for Drake and I we're both learning this scheme
- 44:11Speaker 12: is you know, it's been done at a high level,
- 44:13Speaker 12: at the highest level consistently and has shown this results.
- 44:16Speaker 12: And it's really easy for us to buy into it
- 44:18Speaker 12: and what he's teaching and obviously the new additions that
- 44:21Speaker 12: he's added during his time off because of the success
- 44:23Speaker 12: that you see just when you turn on the tape.
- 44:25Speaker 3: And we're enjoying it.
- 44:27Speaker 12: It is different lots on the quarterback plate, but I
- 44:30Speaker 12: think with the guys that we have in the room,
- 44:33Speaker 12: it's really going to play into our skill set really
- 44:35Speaker 12: well allow us to play the best football that we can.
- 44:37Speaker 5: All right, Well, Josh, We'll let you get back to
- 44:39Speaker 5: your whatever you're doing.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I know you've got meetings and all that stuff. So
- 44:43Speaker 1: welcome to New England. It's the first time we've been
- 44:45Speaker 1: able to say that.
- 44:47Speaker 5: Appreciate you coming by and don't be a stranger telling
- 44:49Speaker 5: her and you know, anytime you want to come in,
- 44:51Speaker 5: just come on in.
- 44:52Speaker 1: We never leave here.
- 44:53Speaker 12: We're here here all the time. He can get a
- 44:56Speaker 12: window outside. Appreciate you all.
- 45:00Speaker 1: I think you appreciate it.
- 45:01Speaker 5: Thank you, Josh, Josh Dobbs stopping in.
- 45:04Speaker 1: That was fun.
- 45:05Speaker 3: You guys got a little Star Wars Wars back.
- 45:10Speaker 4: I was getting good answers. You know. Rogue one, I
- 45:14Speaker 4: assumes talking about Return of the Jedi when he says three,
- 45:17Speaker 4: you know.
- 45:17Speaker 3: I don't know, Evan.
- 45:18Speaker 8: I think it might have been. I think probably of
- 45:20Speaker 8: the Sith.
- 45:20Speaker 3: I would guess, oh yeah, I thought I don't like
- 45:24Speaker 3: those are I was with Evan. But I'll take it
- 45:26Speaker 3: back one, two and three.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Of the original.
- 45:28Speaker 5: So for some people, three is the turning of the
- 45:32Speaker 5: turning into Darth Va Revenge of the I.
- 45:35Speaker 4: Think in terms of so technically Jedi would be six
- 45:38Speaker 4: correchnically technically, but not technically.
- 45:40Speaker 3: I would look at it as the third one ever.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Was any sane.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Person chronological or yeah, that's when I would be I
- 45:47Speaker 3: would can after that.
- 45:49Speaker 4: Any sane person would say that that's three. But you
- 45:52Speaker 4: know some people, probably my my age demographic.
- 45:56Speaker 7: Well yeah, that's like Maddie says, I mean that's you know,
- 45:58Speaker 7: the young kids love the episode three, and it's like
- 46:01Speaker 7: my generation.
- 46:03Speaker 4: It's it's kind of getting the prequels are definitely I
- 46:08Speaker 4: feel like making a comeback a little bit like now
- 46:12Speaker 4: twenty years right now three like Phantom Menace everybody thinks
- 46:15Speaker 4: is good. Now I still am on the fenceive out.
- 46:19Speaker 4: See this is my point.
- 46:20Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, well listen, Josh Dobbs is a Patriot,
- 46:25Speaker 5: And if you were ever thinking of working at Gillette Stadium,
- 46:28Speaker 5: now's your chance. You can go to the craft group
- 46:31Speaker 5: dot com slash careers and apply today for positions at
- 46:36Speaker 5: Gillette Stadium. There's seasonal positions and they're available in food
- 46:40Speaker 5: and beverage, parking, insecurity, so you can work games and
- 46:43Speaker 5: other events here at Jette Stadium. Make a little extra
- 46:46Speaker 5: coin for whatever you need the extra coin for uh
- 46:49Speaker 5: so again, go to the Craft group dot com slash
- 46:53Speaker 5: careers and you can apply today.
- 46:55Speaker 7: I think you said work in insecurity. It's work in security.
- 46:58Speaker 7: But you know there's not an in security department. People
- 47:01Speaker 7: are insecurity.
- 47:02Speaker 1: That's us. Yeah, that's us here.
- 47:06Speaker 5: So nobody knows what you're talking about.
- 47:09Speaker 8: Rady Juke on her lacker. You all know it, y'all know.
- 47:12Speaker 4: So I saw, you know, scrolling through Facebook reels or whatever,
- 47:17Speaker 4: somebody made like a video of his like top five
- 47:20Speaker 4: runs of all time. I mean, it's not He's not
- 47:23Speaker 4: Michael Vick. It's not exactly this has got to be.
- 47:26Speaker 4: It wasn't on the list that's got to be. And
- 47:28Speaker 4: all the comments were just like, no, where's their lack?
- 47:32Speaker 3: I was afraid to touch them. Yeah, so there's something
- 47:35Speaker 3: about this might touch him. Not that it was as
- 47:37Speaker 3: great Juke, No, but that was part of it.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I don't think he expected it. Correct.
- 47:43Speaker 3: There's something about this game that's very specific and unique.
- 47:48Speaker 5: We're talking about the Bears, the Bears, the six week
- 47:51Speaker 5: twelve O six.
- 47:52Speaker 3: The Bears came in the Sunday night. No, I'm just
- 47:55Speaker 3: saying that there was there was an element to Jollette
- 47:58Speaker 3: Stadium that was for the first time in that game.
- 48:00Speaker 7: Oh, the gross correct the new first Jets game, they
- 48:04Speaker 7: ripped it up.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Huh.
- 48:07Speaker 3: I think I'm nine percent. I think you're right though,
- 48:14Speaker 3: And I think there was a bye week after the
- 48:15Speaker 3: Jets game where Richard Seymour couldn't rush the pass and
- 48:18Speaker 3: the beach, and then they in two weeks they put
- 48:21Speaker 3: the field turf in. I believe that was the first game.
- 48:24Speaker 8: That's crazy.
- 48:24Speaker 4: I just remember like Corey Dyllon just the muddy, like
- 48:28Speaker 4: you just have mud all over his jersey.
- 48:30Speaker 5: It was great, but that feel was a mess it.
- 48:33Speaker 5: You know, like everyone now wants grass back, but people
- 48:36Speaker 5: were really complaining how bad.
- 48:38Speaker 1: That feel was at the time.
- 48:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 48:40Speaker 5: Yeah, with the amount of events they have here, I
- 48:42Speaker 5: don't know how they're going.
- 48:43Speaker 3: To Baltimore one.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Yeah, they would do that.
- 48:45Speaker 8: So do they have to do anything for the World
- 48:46Speaker 8: Cup that's coming.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they're going to have to put in grass.
- 48:49Speaker 8: Just like that.
- 48:50Speaker 4: Soccer players don't play on turf.
- 48:53Speaker 8: Helped me with my lawn maybe so.
- 48:55Speaker 5: Josh Dobbs is here, just another seemingly nice guy they
- 49:00Speaker 5: brought in.
- 49:00Speaker 7: What a story, and it just shows you that everybody
- 49:03Speaker 7: has random collection of traveling to different teams.
- 49:07Speaker 3: I mean twice traded It's funny. I didn't realize that
- 49:10Speaker 3: that game that Rabel started him on a week's notice
- 49:13Speaker 3: was really the first extensive playing time he ever got.
- 49:16Speaker 3: I didn't realize. Yeah, that makes it all the more
- 49:19Speaker 3: remarkable that Rabel made that decision. Yeah, yeah, you know, I.
- 49:23Speaker 7: Was a little hesitant to ask him, like as I
- 49:24Speaker 7: didn't want to frame it, like, how does it feel
- 49:26Speaker 7: to have some stability now? Because it's the NFL, nobody
- 49:30Speaker 7: has stability really, but.
- 49:31Speaker 1: One year it's only been here.
- 49:33Speaker 7: I think, I think it's a two year But I mean,
- 49:36Speaker 7: you know, at this point, what does that that actually mean?
- 49:38Speaker 7: But at least it seems like right now he's here,
- 49:40Speaker 7: he's the clear cut backup. I mean, some of those
- 49:42Speaker 7: other situations, it seemed like there was some uncertainty that
- 49:45Speaker 7: resulted ultimately in somebody getting traded out of his rooms.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Right, all right? So yeah, hopefully comes by again, hope.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Nice guy.
- 49:56Speaker 5: Going back to our discussion Adam Vinteri and uh Julian Edelman,
- 50:01Speaker 5: Jason writes in I'm a big fan of Adam and Julian,
- 50:05Speaker 5: but I think Julian deserved to get in first simply
- 50:07Speaker 5: because he never left the Patriots. I appreciate what Adam
- 50:10Speaker 5: did for the team, but going to our rival and
- 50:13Speaker 5: spending more time there than in New England sealed it
- 50:16Speaker 5: from me. Adam should definitely get in, But in my loyalty,
- 50:19Speaker 5: it's with Julian and nice shirt dudes.
- 50:22Speaker 8: Oh thank you.
- 50:24Speaker 4: That's I hear that sentiment a lot.
- 50:26Speaker 3: I just hate it, I do. I hear that a lot.
- 50:29Speaker 3: I just hate that sentiment. Because one guy had an
- 50:31Speaker 3: opportunity to leave and get a free agent contract and
- 50:34Speaker 3: the other guy didn't, doesn't shouldn't mean that Well, that's
- 50:36Speaker 3: why I'm going to stick.
- 50:37Speaker 1: I mean, I all thinks the same way a lot
- 50:40Speaker 1: of people.
- 50:40Speaker 5: Adam was great for the start of the Dynasty, but
- 50:42Speaker 5: wise he up at the same time as Jules because
- 50:45Speaker 5: he played a lot more for another team. Jewles was
- 50:47Speaker 5: instrumental in winning playoff games in Super Bowls. Vinitaria made
- 50:50Speaker 5: some clutch kicks that Brady got him in position for.
- 50:53Speaker 4: It may think they're both worthy so lightly. I mean,
- 50:58Speaker 4: the snowball kick is the greatest kick of all time,
- 51:01Speaker 4: and it made a couple of clutch kicks. Is not
- 51:03Speaker 4: really doing that justice like.
- 51:05Speaker 3: That kick that that kick being the result of Brady
- 51:08Speaker 3: putting him in position is one of the more like
- 51:12Speaker 3: ridiculous stretches that you'll ever hear, Like he made a
- 51:16Speaker 3: forty five yard field goal in like five inches of snow,
- 51:19Speaker 3: right while it was still not given the quarterback credit
- 51:23Speaker 3: for putting him in position to make the kick. Please.
- 51:27Speaker 7: It's and also, I just can't it's hard to fault
- 51:30Speaker 7: Adam than a Terry for wanting to like basically double
- 51:34Speaker 7: his career by going to kick inside.
- 51:36Speaker 4: It's a really good point. Like I don't remember who
- 51:38Speaker 4: brought that up, but I maybe he brought it up
- 51:40Speaker 4: somewhere something and he mentioned it. Yeah, you know, it
- 51:44Speaker 4: really did probably prolong his career.
- 51:46Speaker 3: He didn't want to leave, but when he got the opportunity,
- 51:49Speaker 3: he started to think along.
- 51:50Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, all right, eight five to five, Pats five
- 51:54Speaker 5: hundred is the hotline. Let's go to the phones. Patty
- 52:00Speaker 5: in Agawam. He'll start it off.
- 52:01Speaker 1: What's up, Patty took everyone?
- 52:04Speaker 13: How are we doing today?
- 52:05Speaker 1: Okay? Yes, with you.
- 52:09Speaker 13: I just wanted to say Lake, this might piss off
- 52:12Speaker 13: some of the younger audience, but I really don't care.
- 52:15Speaker 13: I got no problem with Julian being in. But I
- 52:17Speaker 13: think the voters got it wrong. I think they got
- 52:19Speaker 13: it wrong with the Hall of Fame vote, and I
- 52:21Speaker 13: think they got it wrong with this one. And Paul,
- 52:24Speaker 13: you brought up how Julia's career started. Do you remember
- 52:26Speaker 13: how Adams started here too? Like the first four games.
- 52:32Speaker 13: I did a little research. He started out perfect against Miami,
- 52:36Speaker 13: he made both his kicks extra point field goal.
- 52:39Speaker 3: Yeah, And he missed three field goals in Buffalo in
- 52:41Speaker 3: week two and his job was on the line.
- 52:43Speaker 1: He missed a bunch in Kansas City to the next week.
- 52:45Speaker 13: I guess Arizona, he missed an extra point two And
- 52:49Speaker 13: I remember I went to the game. I was at
- 52:51Speaker 13: the game when they played Deck and tell them the
- 52:53Speaker 13: Mark Mark Brunel Hail Marry game.
- 52:55Speaker 3: He made five out of six in that game.
- 52:58Speaker 13: Yeah, And there was a lot of talk that l
- 53:00Speaker 13: you know, Parcels wasn't too happy with him.
- 53:02Speaker 7: Ye.
- 53:02Speaker 13: So to me, like it's almost a miracle that he
- 53:06Speaker 13: that he sucked.
- 53:07Speaker 10: With the team.
- 53:08Speaker 13: And then if you go with the butterfly effect, like
- 53:10Speaker 13: if he doesn't make that field goal against the Raiders,
- 53:13Speaker 13: they lose the game. And who knows that the dynasty
- 53:16Speaker 13: even happens, because you know, you just you don't know,
- 53:19Speaker 13: like maybe they go into the off season there's a
- 53:21Speaker 13: QB controversy and Belichick has the same sort of situation
- 53:25Speaker 13: that they that he had in Cleveland.
- 53:27Speaker 10: And I know that.
- 53:28Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's not a stretch, but I will
- 53:31Speaker 3: say that, you know that he's right. Patty's right about
- 53:33Speaker 3: the Vinitary. The start of Vinitary's career, he made five
- 53:36Speaker 3: out of six against Jacksonville and the last one was
- 53:39Speaker 3: an overtime game winner and had he missed it. Now,
- 53:43Speaker 3: Vinitary beat out Matt Barr in that training camp. Matt
- 53:46Speaker 3: Barr was a Parcels guy, right, so he was on
- 53:50Speaker 3: thin ice.
- 53:51Speaker 14: You know.
- 53:51Speaker 3: Parcells was like, I just want the guy that I'm
- 53:53Speaker 3: real I can rely on. I know he might not
- 53:55Speaker 3: be able to make the fifty yarders like Adam could
- 53:57Speaker 3: at that time, but he he's going to be the
- 54:00Speaker 3: reliable guy. You know that had he missed another important
- 54:05Speaker 3: kick or two, that was it. So that's not a
- 54:08Speaker 3: stretch to say that no Venitary, no win in the
- 54:11Speaker 3: Snow Bowl. Now, I kind of think that Bill and
- 54:14Speaker 3: Tom would have figured out how to win, because I
- 54:17Speaker 3: think they were that good. But it's not a stretch
- 54:19Speaker 3: to suggest had they lost that game and not won
- 54:22Speaker 3: that Super Bowl, maybe the two that ensued in three
- 54:25Speaker 3: and oh four might not have happened. It's true, it's
- 54:27Speaker 3: not impossible to say. I personally think it would have
- 54:30Speaker 3: because I think that Tom was just that good, and
- 54:33Speaker 3: I think Bill would have stuck with Tom either way,
- 54:35Speaker 3: win or lose that game. I think Bill would have
- 54:37Speaker 3: stuck with Tom because I think he was already pretty
- 54:40Speaker 3: convicted at that point. But it's not the most I
- 54:45Speaker 3: don't think. Do you guys think that's so ridiculous like that?
- 54:47Speaker 1: But I just don't know what will happen.
- 54:50Speaker 4: To kickstarted the whole thing. Yea, and no pun intended.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Nathan is in Connecticut? What's up, Nathan? Nathan? Nathan? Is
- 55:01Speaker 1: Nathan gone? Goodbye? Nathan?
- 55:04Speaker 8: Goodbye?

- 55:08Speaker 3: Didou you read some of him now?

- 57:12Speaker 14: Yeah, yeah, excepting liking the olding kind of kind of things.
- 57:17Speaker 11: So it's a bitter pressed by.
- 57:19Speaker 17: Yeah, No, it's been good. Verbs is amazing. He's an
- 57:21Speaker 17: amazing man to be around. He's just been such a
- 57:25Speaker 17: light to this building. He's been such an amazing coach.
- 57:28Speaker 17: He's even out there, you know, like running special teams
- 57:30Speaker 17: drills with us, you know, giving me insight on linebacker.
- 57:34Speaker 11: He's just been an amazing coach.
- 57:36Speaker 3: What'll just be to you to have the team and
- 57:38Speaker 3: Ashley to contract out from burning back.
- 57:40Speaker 10: You know.
- 57:42Speaker 17: At the time, me and my wife, you know, we're
- 57:43Speaker 17: trying to plan a future. We we have no idea.
- 57:46Speaker 17: What's about to happen. But when we got when I
- 57:48Speaker 17: got the call from Elliott, it was nothing but excitement,
- 57:52Speaker 17: nothing but joy, you know, a little uncertainty knowing where
- 57:55Speaker 17: we're gonna live and whatnot. We're getting all that figured
- 57:57Speaker 17: out right now. So it's been good. It's been a blessing.
- 58:00Speaker 17: But it's just been it's been amazing, you know, to
- 58:02Speaker 17: be desired by the organization, desired by the team, and
- 58:06Speaker 17: to see what they have in store, not only as
- 58:09Speaker 17: a team but as a defense.
- 58:10Speaker 11: It's been. It's been really good. You've been hoping he would.
- 58:14Speaker 16: Say, here playing.
- 58:17Speaker 17: Opportunity, you know, above all else, I try to lead
- 58:23Speaker 17: wherever God takes me. I'm good wherever I think God
- 58:26Speaker 17: will use me. Anywhere, any organization I'm in, I'm gonna
- 58:30Speaker 17: put my best foot forward. And I think, you know,
- 58:32Speaker 17: God has something special for me here.
- 58:34Speaker 11: You know.
- 58:35Speaker 17: Whether I know that, whether whether it is or not,
- 58:38Speaker 17: it doesn't matter to me. So whether it's here in Vegas,
- 58:41Speaker 17: and you know, I'm very happy to be here, but
- 58:44Speaker 17: it's all in God's hands.
- 58:45Speaker 11: What's it been like reuniting with no William? And how
- 58:47Speaker 11: did you feel when you found out? You guys, friend,
- 58:49Speaker 11: when I saw it. I was really excited.
- 58:51Speaker 17: I was excited for him, especially because I was able
- 58:53Speaker 17: to play with him for a few years. So I
- 58:56Speaker 17: was nothing but excited for him because he's such a
- 58:58Speaker 17: tremendous talent. You know, you don't see many guys like him,
- 59:01Speaker 17: So I have nothing but the highest price for him.
- 59:03Speaker 17: You know, we already chopped it up in the locker room,
- 59:05Speaker 17: you know, the last few weeks, and it's good to
- 59:07Speaker 17: have here.
- 59:08Speaker 11: Coming up with a career year.
- 59:09Speaker 3: How much did last season became confidence and how much
- 59:12Speaker 3: does it help, you know, coming into.
- 59:13Speaker 4: This off seasons office success?
- 59:16Speaker 17: Yeah, no, it definitely set the tone for me mentally,
- 59:19Speaker 17: you know, going through my first few years in the league.
- 59:22Speaker 11: You know, it's been a rough transition.
- 59:24Speaker 17: So like when I got the when I got the
- 59:27Speaker 17: offer sheet from the Raiders, you know, I'm sitting down
- 59:30Speaker 17: with my wife. You know, it's a little personal, but
- 59:32Speaker 17: I'm sitting there and you know, I'm tearing up. I'm like,
- 59:34Speaker 17: is this really happening? You know, I've been cut six
- 59:37Speaker 17: seven times. You know, I've been bouncing around the league
- 59:39Speaker 17: and like is this Like did God really allow us
- 59:42Speaker 17: to happen to me?
- 59:44Speaker 11: You know? And I think when you do do well
- 59:46Speaker 11: with a little, you'll do well with a lot.
- 59:49Speaker 17: You know, I don't know what the future holds, but
- 59:51Speaker 17: as long as I keep what I'm doing, I think
- 59:53Speaker 17: God has me and wherever I'm going to be. So
- 59:56Speaker 17: it was it's nothing but a blessing for me and
- 59:58Speaker 17: my family with a new.
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: Coach, almost an entirely new assistant coaching staff to the
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: exceptions though, Jeremy.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Tom, what was it like to work with them last year?
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: How do you feel about them for the Tarnae and.
- 1:00:13Speaker 8: Their roles with special teams?
- 1:00:15Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:00:15Speaker 17: No, they're both amazing. They're both knowledgeable, they're both exciting,
- 1:00:20Speaker 17: they're both energizer bunnies. They're both good guys that have
- 1:00:23Speaker 17: in the building. So I was very happy to hear
- 1:00:26Speaker 17: that Braves and the organization decided to keep them, and
- 1:00:29Speaker 17: I think they're a good addition. Jerry Spreader actually said
- 1:00:32Speaker 17: that he was expecting to see more of you on
- 1:00:34Speaker 17: defense and not too much on special teams this season.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: You've been going to special team.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: I'm curious do you see it that way?
- 1:00:39Speaker 17: You're trying to have a bigger role on defense, and
- 1:00:41Speaker 17: what does it mean to hear you know your special teams.
- 1:00:43Speaker 11: Coach say you wants to scheme one inside of the Yeah, no.
- 1:00:46Speaker 11: For for me, I'll do anything the organization asked to me.
- 1:00:50Speaker 11: I'm not.
- 1:00:51Speaker 17: I'm not gonna be selfish in any way, shape or form.
- 1:00:54Speaker 17: Whatever role they have for me, I'm gonna do it
- 1:00:58Speaker 17: to the best of my ability. I still plan on
- 1:01:01Speaker 17: playing special teams. I want to play special teams. It's
- 1:01:04Speaker 17: still something that I think I'm good at, and it's
- 1:01:06Speaker 17: something I think I can bring to the team. And
- 1:01:09Speaker 17: even with an expanded defensive role, whatever that looks like,
- 1:01:13Speaker 17: I'm good. I'm good playing both ways.
- 1:01:15Speaker 9: Just to go back to something that you said, was
- 1:01:18Speaker 9: it seven times?
- 1:01:19Speaker 11: There? We got that? H Well, it wasn't.
- 1:01:22Speaker 17: It wasn't just Philly. It started in Minnesota. I bounced around.
- 1:01:26Speaker 17: I went to Philly, and then I went to San France,
- 1:01:28Speaker 17: and then back to Philly and then cut again and
- 1:01:30Speaker 17: then released.
- 1:01:33Speaker 11: So six times, six times, I think, yeah times.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: And see the numbers on that opera.
- 1:01:38Speaker 16: See how life change.
- 1:01:41Speaker 10: Isn't it.
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: We haven't done anything so like LifeWise the numbers.
- 1:01:49Speaker 11: Yeah No.
- 1:01:51Speaker 17: So for my wife and I, you know above all
- 1:01:57Speaker 17: that we want to honor the Lord, our God with
- 1:01:59Speaker 17: our finances that is doubled it. God says it's hard
- 1:02:03Speaker 17: for a rich to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. It's
- 1:02:05Speaker 17: like it can we going through the eye of a needle.
- 1:02:07Speaker 17: So with that being said, I I take that very seriously.
- 1:02:11Speaker 17: So above all else, we're going to use it to
- 1:02:14Speaker 17: honor God. We've used it to give it a little
- 1:02:18Speaker 17: bit more of a stable environment for my family. You know,
- 1:02:20Speaker 17: we're looking at getting a house. We're looking at just
- 1:02:23Speaker 17: getting you know, this the my family side, So we
- 1:02:27Speaker 17: aren't journeyman. You know, we aren't just bouncing around everywhere.
- 1:02:30Speaker 17: You know, I want to see my kids grow up
- 1:02:31Speaker 17: in a house. You know, I want them to have
- 1:02:33Speaker 17: memories of a single house and not be bouncing around.
- 1:02:36Speaker 17: So when we got that contract, you know, all these
- 1:02:38Speaker 17: thoughts are going through my mind.
- 1:02:40Speaker 11: And it was special. Its special to me, especially my wife,
- 1:02:44Speaker 11: special to my family.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: Did your wife tell you that God wanting deterred by
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: her something?
- 1:02:52Speaker 10: Uh?
- 1:02:53Speaker 11: You know, I think I think it's within a man's
- 1:02:56Speaker 11: right to uh spoil his wife. So I was very
- 1:03:00Speaker 11: happy to do. So. Yeah, there are guys who with Yeah,
- 1:03:07Speaker 11: they would say, I'm going to show them, you know
- 1:03:10Speaker 11: that like your faith for the kind of ship that. Yeah.
- 1:03:17Speaker 17: No, I think guys will handle it two ways. Like
- 1:03:19Speaker 17: you said, they will either handle it as being you know,
- 1:03:22Speaker 17: pissed off all the time, and they're coming the building
- 1:03:24Speaker 17: pissed off.
- 1:03:25Speaker 11: For me, I want to be a light. I want
- 1:03:26Speaker 11: to be a joyed of my teammates.
- 1:03:29Speaker 17: So whether I was in the starting role or not,
- 1:03:31Speaker 17: whether I was getting cut or not, whether I was
- 1:03:33Speaker 17: on practice squad or not, it didn't matter to me.
- 1:03:36Speaker 17: I wanted to be a light to them. And even
- 1:03:38Speaker 17: if I was going through something hard, I know that
- 1:03:40Speaker 17: they're going through stuff too. So yeah, I just want
- 1:03:43Speaker 17: to be a light to not only this organization, to
- 1:03:46Speaker 17: you guys, to my teammates, to everybody. So with this opportunity,
- 1:03:50Speaker 17: I'm not going to squander.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: And now great moments in history.
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: So when you're in your mind, you don't get the
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: title of weapon unless you're a real playmaker.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: A real difference.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: But that's what we're talking about, right, That's the guys
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: that they were looking at. I look I look at
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: you know, like they're like they're interested in Brandon ayuk, No,
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: he's a guy that can can impact the game.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: I look at it like, Okay, what is what is
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: this quarterback's weapons?
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: All right, he's got Hunter Henry at tight end, he's
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: got Poke, he's got you know, you know.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: That's different just rattling off all the skill bread and plays.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: But there's a different streen.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: What like, who are the dependable people that this quarterback?
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Mario Douglas is a weapon?
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: He should be.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: He's one of Jacoby Brissette's weapons. But is he a weapon?
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: But I like it?
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Like I'm going on, I know, I like him.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Don't you think he should be a weapon.
- 1:04:48Speaker 8: He's among his weapons.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: But he's not that kind of player.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Oh I do I think he's dynamic.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: I don't think he is. I don't think he's ever
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: seen I don't think he's ever shown any dynamic ability
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: the Mario.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: Yeah you're talking about pop Now that's another great moment.
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: All right back here and Patriots Unfiltered A five to
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: five PATS five hundred is the hotline podcast at Patriots
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: dot com. Is the way to email us if you
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: missed it, Josh stops stop by. You can catch it
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: in the rebound on demand as they say, Okay, yeah.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: So nice guy.
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: I think Vrabel only brings the nice guys. Because he
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: wants to be the only a hole.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: Fair point could be.
- 1:05:30Speaker 8: Yeah, guys that let it roll off their back, Yeah.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: Anthony writes in Paul said Julian Edelman didn't have a
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: chance to get a contract in free agency, but that
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: is incorrect. I had the pleasure of meeting Edelman at
- 1:05:42Speaker 5: a bar one night in New York City and a
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: buddy I was with mentioned he's a Giants fan.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Giants.
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: Edelman said that during free agency the Airy re signed
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: with us, that he was very close to signing with
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: the Giants, but he ultimately came.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: Back because they didn't offer him any money. He left
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: that part out, like any money or they didn't offer
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: him anything significant. Vinitary was the highest played kicker. Yeah,
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: because one tea. I'm not going to get into this
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: because it's going to sound disrespectful, but Pooka, the Patriots
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: were certainly fine if Edelman left in freury agency. He
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: wasn't Edelman yet. There wasn't a lot of attention. He
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: didn't get a lot of attention on the free agent market.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: They weren't knocking down his door to sign him. That's
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: my only point. So he became Edelman when he resigned
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: and then Walker left and he took over the job
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: full time, and to his credit, he thrived. But he
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: did not get any money offered to him from the Giants,
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: not enough significant, not enough to leave. Whereas Vinitary became again,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: he signed a long term deal to be the highest
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: paid kicker in the game. Right now, I know that
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: that's not necessarily big dollars, but for a kicker.
- 1:06:48Speaker 11: That's what it is.
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: After Fred expressed his support of Adam, Vinitarry, Paul's report
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: was I'm not like you. I don't try to tell
- 1:06:56Speaker 5: people what to think.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: Then when an emailer writes in that he settlement deserves
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: to be in the Hall of Fame before Adam because
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: of Julian's loyal to the Patriots, he adamantly states that
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: he hates that opinion.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: I hated Paul. I don't tell you what to do.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: I thought you hated that opinion. Okay, you don't think
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: that's the difference. You're mad at everybody.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I'm not mad. I'm just surprised. I said, I was surprised.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: You said you were mad at the beginning.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: I said, I was surprised.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: I think the quote was I'm upset that they didn't
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: think like me.
- 1:07:27Speaker 11: I think.
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: I'm surprised that they you know, I'm not upset. Like
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: you said, people are going to think what they want
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: to think. But I know I think that exactly I'm
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: being I just think that that's the way I went
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: at it. I'm surprised other people didn't agree with me.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: And yeah, there's a lot of different things that I
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: sort of have strong opinions on. Obviously, I'm not sort
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: of a shrinking violet when it comes to expressing those
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: opinions on this show. And I get frustrated when people
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: see things differently. But I don't get mad that people
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: don't agree with me, because I think that's what debate's
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: all about. I think you don't get mad if people
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: don't because people don't agree with me. Yeah, no, oh, okay,
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: I stand up for what I believe.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: I think that's an example of it. I would have
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: had Vinetariy in first. I don't think there's anything wrong
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: with the Edelman being in first.
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: I do.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: That's where I sort of separate it.
- 1:08:19Speaker 11: I do, I don't.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: I think Edelman is such a no brainer Patriots Hall
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: of Famer that doesn't really bother me that he went
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: in first.
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it doesn't bother me that he's in. I just
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: it bothers me that Vinitary.
- 1:08:31Speaker 11: Is not in.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: Can I say it that way? Yeah?
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: I think so.
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I worry, that's my point. Yeah, I worry that
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: it's going to take years to get Vinetary in. It's
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: not so much that I care that Edelman is in
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: over him this year, but like we laid out earlier,
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: it's Gronk next year, and then you know, when Bill's
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: time comes is going to probably be a Brady type situation.
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: And so like it's just we've seen this with other guys. Yeah,
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: you know, Logan Macon's is on the ballot every year
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: and it's been at all and.
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: That's true, has been in the battle a long time.
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: Vrabel was on the ballot alone five times. But I
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: would say to me, Vinetteri is even more of a
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: slam dunk than those guys.
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: Yeah, but he could be on the ballot for four
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: or five years, and I feel like that's that's too bad.
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: It's frustrating.
- 1:09:14Speaker 7: Is there anyone else, though, who won a super Bowl
- 1:09:16Speaker 7: in those first three that you think should feel that
- 1:09:19Speaker 7: isn't isn't yet?
- 1:09:20Speaker 8: Because Mankins and will.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Ford I can't think of anyone, honestly.
- 1:09:24Speaker 7: I will for Mankins kind of in the middle. They
- 1:09:25Speaker 7: connected the two somewhat. And now we're getting into mccordy.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: And can I can't think of anyone that. Why isn't
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: he in yet?
- 1:09:32Speaker 11: No?
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: I mean I can't think of any no brainers that
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: should be in from that because the guys that were
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: part of that, you know, like a guy like Dylan. Yeah,
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: I'm not sure he did it long enough, right, you know.
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: Randy Moss, Corey Dillon's the one that comes to mind
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: for me. But I'm with Paul. It was only two years, right,
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: so it wasn't so I.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Don't put him in.
- 1:09:53Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, Lawyer Malloy's not.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: In, right, is No?
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: Lawyer's not in and he gets nominated pretty much.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Every year he gets discussed.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Yeah, well that's why. That's how you get nominated.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Yeah, right, you're right.
- 1:10:07Speaker 7: But anyone else, I mean, there's no Tyrone Pools, there's
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: no there's nobody else, Like who else would there be?
- 1:10:12Speaker 8: I you know what I mean, what I'm saying, that's
- 1:10:13Speaker 8: what I mean. There's nobody else.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: I mean, the Jets can't get Drel We're talking about
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: Tyrone anything to do with Super bowls.
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: Otis Smith, O Smith, Tyrone, Poole.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Lawyer Malloy is probably I mean, I have to give
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: it some thought and look at the rashes, but that's
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: you know, maybe Larry is. Oh but like like, lawyer
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: moy is probably the last guy from that iteration that
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: would warrant consideration. I'm not sure he rises to the level.
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: I think he's worthy of discussion, which you know with
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: Fred and I, you know, we're part of the committee.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: And he gets nominated. I think the last two or
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: three years he's been nominated. He hasn't yet to make
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: the final ballot. But Rodney's in, right, Rodney is in.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: And that's the argument that is made on behalf of
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Lawyer malloy is Malloy's numbers are better than Rodney's a
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: Patriot and Super Bowl.
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: Yeah, so Rodney was a better player.
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's tough. That's tough.
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: I mean, a better football player than Layd.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: I think Rodney had Rodney had a better career than Lawyer,
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: I would say I would agree with that. I think
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: Patriot's career it's really really close.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm just talking about purely if you were ranking
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: him as football players, I.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: Would put Rodney ahead of Lawyer. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: As the body of the career, I would put Rodney ahead.
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: Matt and Saskatchewan Biased writes in just wondering if the
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: loyal Pew listeners can get insider info on when the
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: release date for The Forged and Foxborough will be Part one.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Sneak peek looks amazing.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: So that you have any information.
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: I do have information, but I'm not at privy. I
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: can't tell you yet. It'll it'll be out soon, you know.
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: Let's put it this way. It'll be out before training camp,
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: way before training camp.
- 1:12:04Speaker 8: Maybe some special appearances by some people we know in
- 1:12:06Speaker 8: it too.
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: I'm not so sure. We didn't make the trailer, so
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: you might not make the cut.
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: Didn't make the cut, but that trailer, if you haven't
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: seen it already, go to Patriots X what's it on
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: Instagram to probably probably yeah, just go to the Patriots
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: account and check out it's you know, it's typical. It
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: will be your documentary trailer, but really really good work
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: by Nick McCain and Bradley Amos on our squad who
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: put that together. So we're really excited and what's going
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: to be released will be, you know, a full hour
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: documentary following with another documentary coming out after that. So
- 1:12:49Speaker 5: we've been hard at work. So some really really good
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: inside access that we've received. I think it'll get people
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: really pumped up for the season.
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: But no credit to Bradley because he's an Necks fan.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: Fair Yeah, so forged in Foxborough. Everybody liked that name.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: We were kicking around, you know what to call it?
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I like Fortune and Foxborough.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: Evan's right about like Bradley, he's a big he's a
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: big Knicks fan, right, and no credit. Like the worst
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: part of it is like he's not like be convicted
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: like your team won last night, right, put your chest out,
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: talk smack, have some confidence. He's like they're gonna get
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: killed like tomorrow night. Like I that mentality, I don't
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: I don't agree with you. Okay, I don't want to
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: say that. I hate that because you get mad when
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: I use those terms. Yeah, like you're a fan of
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: the team.
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: Oh no, but it's the Knicks.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: But it's like we're gonna lose.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: His whole life.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: It's like you know, growing up in New England, US, right,
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: and you always expected the Red Sox to like epically collapse.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: That's that's Bradley till I moved to California. Stand up
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: for yourself, bro. They should have been talking smack to
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: Evan today. I think Celtic's gonna win the next four games.
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: But they're gonna hang a banner in MSG one Game one,
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: Round two against the Celtics.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: See, that's that's the old Patriots fan mentality.
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: Yeah, when some team that beat the Patriots in the
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: regular season they got their Super Bowl.
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: Throw the parade you won Game one.
- 1:14:19Speaker 11: I like that.
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: That's a good mentality. Fans should have that mentality mentality
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: f everybody.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: That's what That's what being a fan is about. Paul
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: doesn't like that. No, I'm making fans should be gentle people.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: I'm making fun of Bradley for not being confident, not
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: talking smack. You should be feeling.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: You got mad at the Patriots, the arrogant Patriots fan.
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: Oh, well, that's different because every other team sucked well,
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: which I never really understood. You're telling me that your
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: team is really good. The Celtics fans are the same thing. Now,
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: every team in the league sucks, So what are you
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: telling me that you won, but it is you're the
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: king of the dip poops.
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: I know I agree with you. There By downplaying your opponent,
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: you're not helping yourself.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: The Celtics are the best team in basketball, right, They're
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: the most talented team in basketball. The difference between most
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: fans in the Green teamers, which I think is a
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: small section of Celtics fans, right, Evan's part of that.
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: You're a green teamer. Every other team stinks. Every other
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: team stinks.
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: Well, do you find it interesting that the top three
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: teams in the playoffs all lost their first game?
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: It is interesting, Okay, See.
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: Obviously the three home teams have lost so far. Yeah,
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: the fourth one is tonight.
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's not it's a six to seven series,
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: a weird series. But yeah, it's that made me feel better.
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, I woke up this morning
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: and I didn't say that for the whole.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: Unbelievable choke.
- 1:15:43Speaker 11: To me.
- 1:15:43Speaker 5: What it says is that there is such a separation
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: between those teams and the and their opponent, and they
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: know it.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: That they came in just like we're just going to
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: cruise through this.
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, yeah, I mean I woke up this morning
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: and I saw the the okase he choked it away too,
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: and it kind of made me feel a little bit better. Like, Okay,
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: it does have to throw up fourteen in the Yeah,
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: I mean, I think the thunder have been the best
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: team in the league all year and so see them
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: choke an elite at home in the playoffs.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: That separates him from Celtics fans. Like the true died
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: in the world Green teamers would never say that another
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: team has been the best team in the life. I'd
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: never ever say that. Vintage Patriots fans would never say
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: that either, right when they when they played the Kansas
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: City sucked. They went into Kansas City and beat them
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: in the epic AFC Championship game, but they sucked according
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: to Patriots fans. When I think it's one of the
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: greatest wins in all of this runs history.
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: Now, when I saw him, okay, see another one who
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: sucked Celtics play Okay, see earlier this year in Boston.
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: That was the first time and since they played the
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: Warriors in twenty twenty two in the finals where I
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: was like, this team might be better than the Celtics,
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: Like I legitimately was worried. I was like, oh no,
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: like someone might be better than competition.
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: Yeah, this is not good, Brian writes in he asked,
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: did Josh McDaniels bang the table for Trevion Henderson give
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: any spence time at Ohio State last year? And ps
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: always puts a smile on my face, and Paul takes
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: it away.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: Always puts a smile on my face too.
- 1:17:09Speaker 11: I try.
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: I don't know about that. I mean, I mean went
- 1:17:13Speaker 8: to Ohio State too.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: And he did talk to but he was there visiting.
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I talked to the running backs coach and he
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: did mention that that was the first time you know
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: that he had met Josh McDaniels. Was that trip that
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Mike and I sort of we broke that Mike we
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: broke that everyone believes, and so it might have had
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: might have had something to do with it. We know
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: that they were looking for that type of back, a
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: guy with versatility to catch passes and have some speed.
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: They wanted some juice in the backfield, so that profile
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: of a back was on their radar. And I wouldn't
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: be surprised if if that sort of was the start
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: of their interest in Trevyon Henderson.
- 1:17:52Speaker 7: Sure absolutely to announce the rookie numbers. So Travon Henderson
- 1:17:56Speaker 7: will be wearing thirty two.
- 1:17:57Speaker 8: Excited about that, Yeah, thirty.
- 1:17:59Speaker 7: Running back number again and even d Mac interact a
- 1:18:02Speaker 7: little interaction with so yeah, so, I said Ashton Grant.
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: But it's Riley Larkin was at Ohio State last year
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: and he's now on the Patriots as an assistant coach,
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: just an offensive assistant, not a position coach yet. But
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: he was just at Ohio State a year ago for
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: their championship run. But one thing that my attendant is up.
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: Little thing that we heard from Josh Dobbs, you heard
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: it from Drake may last week, is you know, McDaniel's
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: putting everything back on the quarterback.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: Shoing how Tom did it?
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: Am I allowed to be like small sea concerned about that,
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: Like I don't want to make a big deal about it.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: It's may Go. He's a young.
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: Quarterback still, like it's still only his second year in
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: the league. And if you're gonna expect him to get
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: up there and be the maestro at the you know,
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: keyboard and be able to call out mics and move
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: protections and sniff out blitzes, and I just hope that
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: they don't put too much on his plate in that regard.
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: Like I know with Mac he kind of handheld it
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: his way through it. For most of Max's rookie years,
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: it wasn't you know, completely, you know, in the headset
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: was still on. He would help him and stuff like that.
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: But I just that was just one thing.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: I heard that too.
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot on the quarterback.
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: Because last I think it was last Thursday, right that
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: Drake spoke to the media and you know, you guys
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: came in. I think you and Alex had gone to
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: that and sort of filled us in on some of that.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: Listening to some of those answers about the offense and
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: about the verbiage, and he kept mentioning the verbiage a lot,
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: and we don't want, we want to try to get
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: away from the way we used to call it. Listening
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: to him talk about it gave me the small Sea
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: concern too, like it sounded like this is kind of hard.
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: Yeah, adds another layer to my two concerns, which are
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: cutting down the interceptions and delivering and clutch and those
- 1:19:52Speaker 7: are things where if there's a lot on your plate,
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: you might make an absent minded error with an interception,
- 1:19:57Speaker 7: or you might not be able to run everything as efficiency.
- 1:20:00Speaker 7: When all the pressures on the clock's ticking, it's getting
- 1:20:03Speaker 7: down to the end of the game.
- 1:20:04Speaker 8: It puts a little bit more on those two.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: Now I am expecting the interceptions to go down because
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: I think that's going to be a real point of emphasis,
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: and I think they're good coaches. So it's like when
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: a team comes in. You know, when Bill Parcells came
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: in and had my boy as his number one overall
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: draft pick and rookie quarterback, and they have been sacks
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: like nine thousand times in ninety two. He just went
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: in and had one goal, and that was to cut
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: the number of sacks, you know, dramatically, and they did.
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: With a rookie number one overall pick. Their sacks. I mean,
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: I don't have the numbers in front of me, but
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: their sacks went from like sixty to twenty something like that.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: And because they put a real point of emphasis on it,
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: I'd be shocked if Josh doesn't say, Okay, this is
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: what we need to avoid. Now that might be at
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: the expense of making some plays, which is going to
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: bother say right as I was just gonna say, a.
- 1:20:56Speaker 8: Conservative hold them back a little bit.
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: They gotta think the interception total is good, you know,
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: the percentage is going to drop a little bit.
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: Yeah, And to be fair, I think McDaniels during the
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: year off was it might have been with Edelman, might
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: have been games with names that he was on, and
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: he was talking about how to develop a young quarterback
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: and he mentioned that you don't just throw him in
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: the deep end with all this type of stuff, right,
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: like you kind of add a little bit as you go.
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: But it just last year they made a point to
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: take it off the quarterback and put it on the
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: center to make all of the calls and things like that.
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: And I just wonder if, especially when he's a young guy,
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: if there's something to be said for taking that off
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: his plate and letting him just kind of play. And
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: then maybe as he grows and as he gets older
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: and then he says, I want the controls, you know,
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: I need more control at the line of scrimmage.
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: How many teams do it quarterback for a center, would
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: you say?
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: I would say most of them are center based, really, yeah,
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: a vast majority of them.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: And I would think it'd be the other way around.
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: Well, I mean, look at you know, there's a clip
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: going around now that has been around for years. But
- 1:22:03Speaker 4: like Jeff Saturday used to make all the calls in
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: Indianapolis for Peyton, you know, for years. Really, Yeah, so
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: what was.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: All the nonsense?
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: Yeah, A lot of it was I know, I know
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: a lot of it was smoke screen.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: But yeah, Peyton wasn't making calls.
- 1:22:18Speaker 10: At the line.
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: No, A lot of it ran through their center and
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: Jeff Saturday and I'll did you hear them over Peyton?
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: I don't know, I just him telling you are you
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: sure about that?
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay?
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: And and you know Peyton just.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: People trying to diminish Peyton.
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: Manning check out of like runs and stuff like, you know,
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: into runs a lot, famously in the AFC Championship game
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: in six. I believe that was a check into a
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: run that they ended up walking into the end zone.
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: I think he I think Manning actually gave credit to
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: Marvin Harrison saying, you know, Marvin, of all people wanted
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: to run the ball, you know when they got down there.
- 1:22:52Speaker 11: Getting lit up all game.
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: Yeah, So, I mean, I think there's probably I don't know,
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: I think some of that is probably a little bit overblown,
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: But I do think this is going now? What four
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: five years in a row for Drake May with a
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: different offensive court, four years in a row going back
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: to college, two years in college and now the two
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: years in the pros. That's four different offensive coordinators. Yeah,
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: you know, that's that's tough.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's tough.
- 1:23:20Speaker 4: That'sah. And there was regression at North Carolina from his
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: true sophomore year to his true junior.
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: And everybody blew that off as to was poor coaching.
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: And it may have been, and he also lost some
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: players to the NFL.
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: Right, it may have been part of that, but it
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: also it's just it's tough.
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it's tough.
- 1:23:36Speaker 5: Ford and Savannah, Georgia. Last show, you kind of glossed
- 1:23:39Speaker 5: over two lines that made me laugh out loud. The
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: first one was the darkest, lash funniest thing I've ever heard,
- 1:23:44Speaker 5: right up my alley. When Paul said that Tim Tim
- 1:23:47Speaker 5: Tebill failed, I almost spit up my water. I guess
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: at mentoring Hernandez. Probably later in the show, Deuce with
- 1:23:58Speaker 5: the Jets are in your fifth do you want of
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: a rebuilt.
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: Yeah, Jets catching them straight today.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: That's what we do well we do and I'm here
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: for those like I hate the Jets, and the Jets
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: are always because the Jets, Like when I was growing up,
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: the Jets were just like the Patriots. They just couldn't
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: get out of their own way. But for some reason
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: it was New York and everybody's like, got the Jets,
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: this is a Jets year, and everybody was like the Patriots.
- 1:24:24Speaker 10: Thak.
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: You know, I was like, why are they considered so
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: much better than us? What did they ever do? What
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: did they ever take on? You know, it's a little
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: channeling of the inside, like maybe eight nine, ten year
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: old PAULI.
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: Yeah, see, finally some fandom comes anytime I you know.
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: That's where the passion. But that's where the passion comes from,
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: is like that irrational fandom.
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: Well, I'll tell you I never hated the Jets more. Well,
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: I hated him you love to do sixty nine in
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: your defense during the Border War, Like I hated him.
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: But then my hatred was really really renewed in the
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: Rex Ryan era because he knew how to need it,
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: like he knew like if you were a fan and
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: like me, like you hated Rex Ryan although you appreciated
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: what he was doing, like.
- 1:25:06Speaker 10: I was.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: The Border War brought out all kinds of irrational hatred
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: for me, Like I was so mad, like a as
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: you guys know, I was Team Parcels, and I was like,
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: now they got our guy, and now our guy is
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: making us look bad with half the amount of talent
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: that our team has. I was like, those are bad,
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: those are bad times for me. The first game that
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: they actually won, remember when the Mike Jones blocked the
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: field goals It was Mike Jones right, yes, yeah, he
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: took a war goal and they won an overtime the
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: first tunable and I was so mad after that game.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: It was like they might as well have lost like
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: eight in a row. That's how mad I was.
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: I was.
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: I would play real that they played that poorly and
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: left that team solely because the other team's coach pants
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: dark coach. I was so mad I was, I was.
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: I was irrationally mad.
- 1:25:54Speaker 5: I remember remember the game we lost against the Jets
- 1:25:57Speaker 5: at their place.
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: Oh, I was even mad at that way when Lawyer
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: molloy was on the team and over there they have
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: what we we want.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: It's like, oh I was so mad at him, Like
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: stop whining.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: I wasn't mad at him.
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: And they broke the was somebody punched the cooler in
- 1:26:12Speaker 5: the visiting locker room. We got charged for ye in
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: the meadow lands.
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: We got you never told me about story? Yeah, what
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: what was it like when they set the Curtis Martin.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: That was another poison pill, an one the poison pill.
- 1:26:24Speaker 7: You were in the building for that right before your
- 1:26:27Speaker 7: pre Paul, Yeah, oh yeah, were furious again, Like yeah,
- 1:26:31Speaker 7: I know, like you don't think this like I was.
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: I was sitting on those cold benches. I was as
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: passionate as anybody. It's just a little different when you're
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: sort of like at your job. But like at the time,
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: I was unbelievably mad when they when they signed Curtis
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: Martin and when parcels last, and like again it was
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: like lawyer said, they have everything that we had and
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: you could see it. It's right there. They became you.
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: All right, it's one. So it's for some Jaws trivia.
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: Oh great, I can't wait for this.
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: So let's go. You ready.
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: Before Steven Spielberg, John Sturgis was attached to direct what
- 1:27:12Speaker 5: was he the reported reason the producers gave him the boot?
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: Jeez, he you don't know. This is more of a
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: deuced question because you're more inside Hollywood, you were probably
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: his He kept calling the shark a whale.
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: I mean, you would have known the difference based off.
- 1:27:30Speaker 8: Whatever. Just get the whale in here.
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: Jaws was the first Hollywood production to have this impressively
- 1:27:35Speaker 5: bad filming.
- 1:27:36Speaker 7: Achievement, impersively bad filming achievement, failing to show a work.
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: It was one hundred days behind shooting schedule.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: It was it was I knew it was delayed. I
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: didn't know. It was like a record.
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: What major Hooper plot point from the book was changed
- 1:27:54Speaker 5: towards the end of production? And why, hint, it's not
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: his affair with Ellen body.
- 1:28:01Speaker 8: I thought it was moot.
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: I see, there's there's mob ties I believe with the mayor.
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: Oh right, right right, yeah, And that's why he refused
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: in the book. Yeah, that's why they refused to close
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: the beaches. But I always I thought that I thought
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: that Hooper had an affair with missus Chief.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: He probably did.
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: But the answer is he was supposed to die in
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: the cage, but when filming real shark cage footed for
- 1:28:22Speaker 5: the scene, a great white accidentally attacked the cage without
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: anyone inside, forcing Spielberg to change Hooper's fate.
- 1:28:30Speaker 8: It was great trivia.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: I didn't know any of these these that's that's next
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: level trivia.
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: Jaws broke the record for most money earned on opening
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: weekend and all time theatrical run until Star Wars. What
- 1:28:41Speaker 5: were the record breaking amounts? Round to the nearest million,
- 1:28:45Speaker 5: closest amount wins?
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: If not spot on?
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: Bonus, if you can guess which movie Jaws the throne
- 1:28:50Speaker 5: at the end of its run. So the opening weekend take,
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: what do you think that.
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: Was back then?
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna say eighty million, seven million.
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: Seven million. I was going to say one hundred What
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: do you think?
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: What do you think? What do you think the theatrical.
- 1:29:06Speaker 8: Run was over the whole courses? Yeah about let's go.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: On, bonus? What movie did it dethrone?
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: Godfa Godfather?
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: Correct?
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: That was my questions so good questions seven? Got even
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: got it.
- 1:29:25Speaker 7: I'm almost done with my Orca Legos, still got a
- 1:29:28Speaker 7: couple of bags to go. I'm savoring it, just down
- 1:29:31Speaker 7: to the shark Legos.
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: Do you have like a cigar that you can smoke
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: when you're done?
- 1:29:38Speaker 8: A Narrowgancett beer, and then I'll crush.
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: All the kids of Patriots dot Com thought that the
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: Orca was a whale. We were not aware that the
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: Orca was the name of the boat it was, so
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: when Dude showed us a picture of it, we were.
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: Like, this is what we deal with.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: This is what we rible.
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: Damn it, guys, this is back to you requiring people
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: learn about the history.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: You probably thought the ss Mino was a little fit
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: thing that one I knew It'lligan's Islands, Boby Dick.
- 1:30:12Speaker 7: Oh my god, I think we got I think we
- 1:30:14Speaker 7: have a content team outing some like Friday Afternoon over
- 1:30:18Speaker 7: Patriot Placed.
- 1:30:18Speaker 8: When jos gets re released. We gotta get some of
- 1:30:20Speaker 8: these kids in there a little party.
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: If you want to fall asleep, you can do that.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: It'll be one over.
- 1:30:26Speaker 8: This is Cinema Afternoon.
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: But I miss is the boat. It's not tell anybody
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: kill a whale that.
- 1:30:33Speaker 8: Actually can kill sharks. They eat their livers.
- 1:30:37Speaker 11: You know that.
- 1:30:39Speaker 5: Before we learn about Quin's tattoo, what are all the
- 1:30:43Speaker 5: other permanent injuries Quentin and Hooper compare, and if mentioned,
- 1:30:46Speaker 5: how did they occur? Just the injury doesn't count. Bonus
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: If listen in order.
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: We got the bump on the head, fresh little lump.
- 1:30:53Speaker 5: On Quin's head Thresher Sat Days Boston.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: You got that.
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: Uh, that's one when he met his celebrating the dimise
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: of his third wife. Yeah, I believe right, I don't
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: know he didn't say that. Oh he doesn't have. I
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: thought he had all the knack o'.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: Nolan's St Patty Day.
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: Yeah then uh yeah, you had the one bit right
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: to his wet suit.
- 1:31:15Speaker 8: Yeah right, yeah yeah.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: Also yeah, Mary Mary.
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: Broke his heart on Marianna Mary something.
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: Yeah, you got that's broken hard for Mary Ellen Moffatt.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: So that's three.
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: Uh. Then Chief shows scot he looks at he considers,
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: he looks at it.
- 1:31:36Speaker 8: Should I share this?
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: No, that's not one.
- 1:31:38Speaker 8: The US is Indianapolis, that this is all before, all
- 1:31:41Speaker 8: before the US.
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: He Quin's fake to Yeah, but no reason given. You
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: got the forearm.
- 1:31:49Speaker 5: Scar Quint's forearm can't extend a certain point because a
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: big Chinese fellow beat him in the semi finals wrestling contest.
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: This song on the movie, Yeah it's all in Star
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: when you pay attention to if you were at all
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: interested in the movie, it's one of the great scenes
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: in cinema history.
- 1:32:07Speaker 5: Scar on Hooper's calf when a Bullshark brushed him when
- 1:32:10Speaker 5: collecting samples.
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: Collecting sample samples and.
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: The star on Quinn Shin from a Thrasher's Tale.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: Oh so I missed. Yeah, we watched that. We watched that.
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: It's good though we're not We're not anywhere nearest.
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: What's going on with you to you guys are after game?
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 1:32:25Speaker 11: I don't know?
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: I mean, Harty was asking me, I want to hang
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: out with this guy?
- 1:32:29Speaker 11: Though? What keys?
- 1:32:30Speaker 8: Was the is the theme in like what are the
- 1:32:32Speaker 8: two piano keys of.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: Trying to get Mike and I to go to some
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: like musical job.
- 1:32:38Speaker 8: Yeah, they're gonna well.
- 1:32:39Speaker 7: Keith Lockhart and the pops are playing the soundtrack to
- 1:32:41Speaker 7: Jaws while they play the movie.
- 1:32:43Speaker 4: Isn't it just one didful thing?
- 1:32:45Speaker 8: You know, it's a whole score event and it's a movie.
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: Disrepect Now he's disrepected John John Williams, who is arguably
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: the greatest movie composer in history, right sixty five here
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: like storied history, and what's the one that's like that's
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: just one song that sounds like you talking about Red Dawn.
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: It's like this the shark song.
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: I mean, there's nothing going.
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: To be we get Patriot players in here. I want
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: to find some guys at have scene jaws.
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: They're all younger than me, so.
- 1:33:10Speaker 5: Probably so when Josh Stobbs was here, we got into
- 1:33:13Speaker 5: a little bit of Star Wars talk.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Robin and Alaska wright.
- 1:33:16Speaker 5: Say, George Lucas added episode numbers to the Star Wars
- 1:33:20Speaker 5: film in nineteen eighty one when he realized he'd likely
- 1:33:22Speaker 5: have the money to make the entire story he'd envision.
- 1:33:25Speaker 5: I could be wrong, but I think that means the
- 1:33:27Speaker 5: titles are older than Evan regardless. Evan's take about how
- 1:33:31Speaker 5: sane people say they are one, two, and three feels
- 1:33:34Speaker 5: as hilarious as how he hates watermelon because it's wet
- 1:33:37Speaker 5: and can't stand Pam Beasley because she wanted to paint.
- 1:33:42Speaker 4: There's a lot of reasons for hating Pam Beasley that aren't.
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: About I'm gonna defend on the on the Pam Beasley
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: thing because a lot of people have a very similar opinion.
- 1:33:51Speaker 4: Now the Star Wars movies, they're just the originals are
- 1:33:55Speaker 4: in like a trilogy of their own to me, and
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: then every there's kind of everything else and the periphery.
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: But the Originals are on a pedestal by themselves, so
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: they're one two three. Okay, that's all.
- 1:34:07Speaker 5: Let's get back to the phones eight five five pats
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: five hundred. We'll start with Brent in West Virginia. Hey, Brent, Hey, Hey,
- 1:34:16Speaker 5: all right, hey, if I.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: Had a question, and a few episodes ago, he was
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: talking about Skarnaikia term me and I was just wondering
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: if there's any chance, I hate there's some private list
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: and Will.
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: Campbell I don't know.
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: I you know, I know he's available and thanks for
- 1:34:35Speaker 5: the call. I know he's made himself available during the
- 1:34:38Speaker 5: off season to do some stuff. But you know, we'll
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: have to see about that.
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: I mean, I'm all for a scar.
- 1:34:44Speaker 7: I hate I hate always being the guy that's like
- 1:34:46Speaker 7: scars retired. Like, but how much does like, you know,
- 1:34:49Speaker 7: a couple hours with him work, Like I think I
- 1:34:51Speaker 7: feel like offensive line coach.
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you need to drill.
- 1:34:54Speaker 4: Training the guys at Boston College. Uh, you know, Trapelo
- 1:34:57Speaker 4: and Drew Kendall. I don't know if Jack con who
- 1:35:01Speaker 4: the Patriots reportedly signed as an undrafted free agent, he
- 1:35:03Speaker 4: might have been working with him. So he's he's doing uh,
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: you know, the like the all the private trainers we
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: talk about all the time. But Will Campbell's working with
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: Duke Mannyweather. I wrote about that in my my feature,
- 1:35:15Speaker 4: and Duke is really well respected in the offensive line
- 1:35:18Speaker 4: community as a trainer, coach, former player. So he's he's
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: got a guy, yeah as of right now. But it
- 1:35:27Speaker 4: couldn't it couldn't hurt obviously, I'm not saying that, but
- 1:35:30Speaker 4: he does have a guy.
- 1:35:31Speaker 5: I feel like Scarneckia might be, you know, break glass
- 1:35:34Speaker 5: in case of emergency.
- 1:35:36Speaker 8: Isn't going right, what's going on?
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: We shouldn't need.
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: Him, Yeah, I would say the biggest advantage about scar
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: is that he obviously is totally familiar with Josh mcdaniels's offense,
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: so he would understand the system and the numbers and
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: you know, the seventies protections and like all that different
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: stuff that they they do. So maybe even more so
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: from like a whiteboard aspect, it would be helpful for
- 1:35:56Speaker 4: these guys as well as like he would teach them
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: the technique that they're probably teaching here, So there would
- 1:36:02Speaker 4: be a lot of familiarity in that respect.
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: Tim and Arlington your next What's up?
- 1:36:09Speaker 10: Take's house? Killing everybody? A couple of quick things, and
- 1:36:13Speaker 10: my question about the undrafted receivers, I'll take off the air,
- 1:36:18Speaker 10: but first, really happy with the draft. So glad we
- 1:36:22Speaker 10: didn't wind up with McMillan love Williams, so I'm really
- 1:36:26Speaker 10: excited about that. As far as the Hall of Fame
- 1:36:28Speaker 10: vote goes, Here's the thing I was. I was torn
- 1:36:32Speaker 10: between Edelman and Vin Terry. I think both deserve to
- 1:36:36Speaker 10: get in. I think when you're when you have someone
- 1:36:39Speaker 10: like really deserving, you do have to kind of pit
- 1:36:42Speaker 10: nicks a little bit. And I think the thing that
- 1:36:44Speaker 10: does get Edelman over is he was a career Patriot.
- 1:36:48Speaker 10: I get that, you know, nobody wanted to sign him
- 1:36:51Speaker 10: quote unquote, but the fact is he stayed there. Whereas
- 1:36:54Speaker 10: with Adam din and Terry. I think it's similar to
- 1:36:56Speaker 10: Tom Brady, And this is another way I think people
- 1:36:58Speaker 10: should look at it. One would agree Tom Brady is
- 1:37:01Speaker 10: a Patriot. He played for the Buccaneers, he won them
- 1:37:04Speaker 10: a Super Bowl. But I would say Tom Brady is
- 1:37:07Speaker 10: sixty forty Patriots versus Buck, and I think it's.
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: Sixty for Tom Brady is like ninety five to five
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: Patriot over Buck sixty forty. I guess I'm wrong. I
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: owe all the fans in apology, I guess I'm like,
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: ha ha.
- 1:37:23Speaker 10: Like wow, well he's won him a super Bowl, Paul,
- 1:37:26Speaker 10: he won.
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: How many do you went for the Patriots?
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: I know, but you can't compare what he did at Tampa.
- 1:37:30Speaker 5: It's not it's come on, sixty forty.
- 1:37:33Speaker 10: No, look, I'm saying he's a Patriot.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: Okay, we're quippling over percent, Andary is a Patriot. I
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: don't care that he played longer for the for the Whites,
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: for the Colts. I almost said White Sox because I
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: was thinking of Calton Fish. Let's also played longer for
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: the White so Let's. But he's get serted a red so.
- 1:37:49Speaker 5: I would say that if if Vinitary had finished his
- 1:37:53Speaker 5: career with the Patriots and they have never won another
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: Super Bowl, he'd still be a candidate for the Hall
- 1:37:58Speaker 5: of Fame. If he had played it his whole career
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: with the Colts and just won that one Super Bowl,
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: he would not be a Hall of Fame candidate.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: He's a Hall of Fame Patriot.
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: But everything else is the same. Yeah, he's so he's
- 1:38:10Speaker 3: the leading scorer of all time.
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a pro football.
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: He's a be a Hall of Fame.
- 1:38:14Speaker 5: Kam, he's a pro football candidate because of what he
- 1:38:17Speaker 5: did with the Patriots.
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: I think that puts it over the top, just in
- 1:38:21Speaker 4: terms of the touch kicks, and.
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: I think it's impossible to separate the two. Yeah, I agree,
- 1:38:26Speaker 3: But if he did everything else, he'd be a candidate
- 1:38:29Speaker 3: for the Hall of Fame. If he like played whatever
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: of twenty four years something like that and is the
- 1:38:33Speaker 3: all time leading scorer.
- 1:38:35Speaker 8: And you'd have him in the colts team Hall of Fame.
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: No, you guys wouldn't, because only Patriots have enough players
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: in the Hall of Fame. Evidently, what guy?
- 1:38:45Speaker 10: He got the cult a super Bowl as well, he
- 1:38:48Speaker 10: played longer for them, he helped him win a Super Bowl.
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I think because he's a great player.
- 1:38:55Speaker 10: He is a great player. But I think you're disrespecting
- 1:38:58Speaker 10: the fact that.
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: He's a cult respecting it.
- 1:39:01Speaker 10: I'm out if I'm a coult fan, I don't like
- 1:39:04Speaker 10: it's just like the outrage you also rightfully.
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: Let me let me ask you this, Tim, Tim, hold
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: on this because this is a good This is a
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: good conversation actually, because I think when you look at
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: things from different sides, unlike a lot of times on
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: this show. Will you guys yell at me for doing that? Okay,
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: all right, let me let me count. Let me count
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: with this. Thanks, let me counter with this. Tim give
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: me this the signature kick of Adam Vani Terry as
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: a cult.
- 1:39:33Speaker 10: Well, in the super Bowl, lady.
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: Didn't he hit one?
- 1:39:37Speaker 10: I'm answering the question.
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: He didn't have a big kick in the super Bowl.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: They won the super Bowl like twenty nine to seventeen.
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: Oh well, okay, that's fair, but that but that's you
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: know that, And I think that's why And again that
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: I didn't say that, like argumentatively, I'm saying I think
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: that's why we feel his his career is more defined
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: for what he did with the Patriots, even though it
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: wasn't as long as what he.
- 1:40:06Speaker 4: Did with the cults. Also, but like what's why does
- 1:40:08Speaker 4: it matter? No, Like for the purposes of the Patriots
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: Hall of Fame, Well, for people who.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: Voted for Edelman first, Oh he's really a cult.
- 1:40:16Speaker 4: Oh okay, yeah, But at my own people, I think
- 1:40:20Speaker 4: that's like we're young, like I got I'm okay with it.
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: I just disagree with it, no, because I think one
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: guy really didn't have an opportunity to leave, and the
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: other guy was so good he had people wanting him
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: like that to me, is not a great reason.
- 1:40:36Speaker 8: But this is all.
- 1:40:36Speaker 4: This is my overall point about the whole process. And
- 1:40:39Speaker 4: again I'm taking shots at my own my own age
- 1:40:42Speaker 4: bracket here, so whatever, right, But when you put things
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: on social media to have the vote driven by social media,
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: you are organically catering to a younger age demographic.
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: You're inviting inconsistencies and what my I don't know. It's
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: a problem with the process from the start.
- 1:41:03Speaker 5: Actually, you vote on a dot com website and they've
- 1:41:06Speaker 5: been around for a long time.
- 1:41:07Speaker 4: Right, But I don't think the dot com website still
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: is catering to people that really truly remember Adam Vinitary's kicks,
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: like I remember them.
- 1:41:18Speaker 3: Facebook because of that's that's my generation, because.
- 1:41:22Speaker 4: I kind of lived it. But I also remember it
- 1:41:24Speaker 4: because I've seen them so many times, you know, replayed
- 1:41:27Speaker 4: over and over again. I don't remember them like you
- 1:41:30Speaker 4: guys remember them were like you know, like I don't
- 1:41:32Speaker 4: remember it like that. So if you're if you were
- 1:41:35Speaker 4: eight in two thousand and one, who are you going
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: to vote for it? You're gonna vote for any.
- 1:41:40Speaker 5: Do you remember Habilt chick steals the ball. No, okay,
- 1:41:44Speaker 5: all right, no, at least you're consistent the sixties.
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: I don't either.
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: You don't care about the history of the team. No,
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: I've seen that, Havelots. I'm part of Celtics Hill.
- 1:41:56Speaker 3: I'm not saying me.
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: I'm saying that I think, unfortunately that it's just the
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: reality for a lot of younger people.
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: So selfish.
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: But I say.
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: Self absorbed because people do happen when you were you know,
- 1:42:10Speaker 5: saw that didn't happen.
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: I'm gonna let Fred get the raft of the of
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: the youngs.
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: But I was on his side.
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: I said it all the time. When you know people
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: like I was, I wasn't even born. I'm like, I
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: wasn't born like Babe Ruth was hitting more home runs
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: than the rest of the league combined.
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: Either.
- 1:42:24Speaker 4: But I know what happens, you know, But I.
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: Know what happened.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: Actually, I know about because I was interested.
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: I know Willie Mays was the like the greatest player
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: who ever played, Like I know Ted Williams, you know,
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: hit four hundred. All of this happened like years thirty
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: years before I was born. Yeah, but you know, but
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: you know about it. And also I know we won
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: the Revolutionary Ward too, it wasn't alive, right.
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: You Sure, that's a great point. But like Halichick told,
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: the ball is another great example. I have seen that
- 1:42:52Speaker 4: highlight and I've heard Johnny mose call and halichiks tole
- 1:42:55Speaker 4: the ball a hundred times that I feel like I
- 1:42:58Speaker 4: saw it, even though it was way way before I
- 1:43:01Speaker 4: was born. Unfortunately, not everybody in my age and below
- 1:43:06Speaker 4: you think that way?
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: Does that Patriots fan has seen the Vinitary Kicks? Now?
- 1:43:10Speaker 4: Really, no, I bet you're not. Every one of them has.
- 1:43:14Speaker 5: If they've seen any three games to Glory, they've seen them.
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: If they've seen, you know, any of that stuff.
- 1:43:20Speaker 3: They don't ask questions you don't want the answers. You
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: don't think every Patriots fan seeing three games to glory?
- 1:43:26Speaker 4: No, Like I've seen all of those, but I was
- 1:43:29Speaker 4: at least of age where I lived it a little
- 1:43:31Speaker 4: bit like people that are ten years younger than me.
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: No chance the Vinitary Kicks. When I say everybody we
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: can we you know, I don't mean like exactly one
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: hundred percent, Like there's not one Patriots fan on the
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: planet who didn't see it. But I think we're talking
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: ninety nine percent in change. I've seen the vinitary k.
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: I would hope, I would absolutely think. I think that
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: the mentality that Tim and I'm again I disagree with
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: it doesn't mean that they you know, people liked him,
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: shouldn't think like that. They think he left and they
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: did that they were wronged he left us. So I'm
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: gonna go with Edelman instead. That's their mentality. Welker dropped
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: the pass. He's a choker. That's the mentality. Mankins, for
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: as great as he was, he never won a super
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: Bowl and then he left. That's the mentality. And that's
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: what's gonna be hard for these guys to get in.
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: I'm telling you, until there's no if you have Gronk
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: and in an option for any of those guys, it's
- 1:44:34Speaker 3: going to be Gronk a thousand times out of a thousand.
- 1:44:36Speaker 3: If you have mccordy, it's gonna be mccaudy. If you
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: have any viable option that is more recent, and the
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: more recent option is going to win.
- 1:44:45Speaker 5: I think we have to make an effort to make
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: the vote more representative of the entire fan base and
- 1:44:53Speaker 5: not just you.
- 1:44:54Speaker 7: But I see why I voted for Vine Teria, you know,
- 1:45:02Speaker 7: but you think about Balm like for me, how different
- 1:45:05Speaker 7: it is. And this is why the two sizes are
- 1:45:07Speaker 7: at odds. I think too, because Edelman is kind of
- 1:45:10Speaker 7: the Patriots are already good, who were already like entitled
- 1:45:13Speaker 7: to win the title, you know, like like Vinetari for us,
- 1:45:16Speaker 7: the Patriots had always stunk like he was the groundbreaker.
- 1:45:19Speaker 8: He was the one who took it from here we go.
- 1:45:21Speaker 8: He's gonna miss this kick in the snow.
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: This is because game.
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: But it's so true. Mike is so right that it.
- 1:45:28Speaker 8: Was all new.
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: It's totally adds to me, to to the aura broke,
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: not the curse, because just everybody, like even Fred even
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: we thought like something bad's gonna happen. We're just we're waiting,
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: like it's gonna be a bad snap or something or
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: something silly's gonna happen because we could never be the
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: ones that want it. Remember, do you remember, like in
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: the call, like everybody remembers Santos with you know, the Fourier.
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: To me, it was like Gino in the background, like
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: mister Patriot like that, like the unbridled enthusiasm and and
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: sort of disbelief, like the best team. I think Gil
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: said something about the best team in football. I forget
- 1:46:07Speaker 3: exactly the words yep, and Gino is just like, hey,
- 1:46:11Speaker 3: like another, how about that? Like we finally won, Like
- 1:46:15Speaker 3: that's what everybody was waiting for, was the rug to
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: get pulled out from under you, and Adam made sure
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: that it didn't, right, And how sure were you at
- 1:46:22Speaker 3: the end of Super Bowl thirty six that here come
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: the Rams there like this you know, you know me right,
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: that was gonna do right?
- 1:46:28Speaker 8: But that anament Arry.
- 1:46:30Speaker 3: Changed the first play when when he almost got stripped,
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: I was like, oh my god.
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: So in O one once.
- 1:46:37Speaker 5: The last time Boston team had won a championship before
- 1:46:40Speaker 5: one was it was eighty.
- 1:46:41Speaker 4: Six Celtics, So it was a while. Yeah, And I
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: would just say, like.
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: And the Celtics were kind of immune to the choking
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: it was for the other three teams, yeah, right, But
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: like it.
- 1:46:51Speaker 4: Always felt for whatever reason that the Red Sox curse
- 1:46:56Speaker 4: was the thing, especially that time of of like the
- 1:47:01Speaker 4: you know Red Sox were probably the number one team
- 1:47:03Speaker 4: in Boston at that time too, but like the eighty
- 1:47:06Speaker 4: six year curse for the Red Sox always felt like
- 1:47:08Speaker 4: maybe a little bit of a bigger deal in the
- 1:47:09Speaker 4: fact that the Patriots had never won a Super Bowl
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: and so like all that was.
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's accurate.
- 1:47:16Speaker 4: I don't think that there was like as much pain,
- 1:47:18Speaker 4: I guess.
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: Because the always got close and couldn't close the deal.
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: The Patriots, like they got to like the Super Bowl
- 1:47:24Speaker 3: a couple of times, but you know, the first one
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: obviously was an absolute blow. The second one it was
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: a close game, and you know they let the kick
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: return for a touchdown, and then that game is never
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: closed in the fourth quarter. So they it wasn't like
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: they were always getting there and falling short. The Red
- 1:47:40Speaker 3: Sox like seventh game, seventh game, seventh game, collapse down
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: the stretch, losing the division or something just sucky, terrible happened.
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: Mike and Charlotte.
- 1:47:50Speaker 5: If everyone is so convinced that Vinitary should be in
- 1:47:52Speaker 5: the Hall, would you also put Goskalski in. He's ahead
- 1:47:55Speaker 5: of Vinitarian every category and it's the franchise's all time
- 1:47:58Speaker 5: leading score.
- 1:47:59Speaker 3: No, ask you the same question. I'm going to ask
- 1:48:02Speaker 3: you the same question. With Stephen Goskowski's signature moment as
- 1:48:05Speaker 3: a Patriot.
- 1:48:06Speaker 8: Right, the Giants not taking the one case seventeen.
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: Super Bowl, he has seven.
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: Yeah, he does have some has the answer, I would say, the.
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: Coach not having faith in him to try a forty
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: seven yard field going.
- 1:48:18Speaker 7: I mean the clothes, That's what I mean. I was
- 1:48:19Speaker 7: kind of trying to make the same Joe. The closest
- 1:48:21Speaker 7: I can get, I think was in that twenty sixteen
- 1:48:23Speaker 7: or seventeen game against the Giants.
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: You're talking he had fifty.
- 1:48:28Speaker 5: And listen, Goskalki's fine, but he shouldn't be in the
- 1:48:30Speaker 5: Patriots Hall of Fame, and his accomplishments don't come close
- 1:48:36Speaker 5: to what Vinitari did for this team.
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: For this team, I don't think anybody argues that, like
- 1:48:41Speaker 4: Goskoski was a fine kicker, he was.
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: Really was really, really good.
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: It was great to listen.
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: I know, I am sure he does, but come on, sure,
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna an email when I get back to my dead.
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: Well the kick. What I always remember is the last
- 1:48:56Speaker 4: Super Bowl against the Rams, the second one, and you know,
- 1:48:59Speaker 4: Brady was like just kicking right, and Bill. Bill is
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: like contemplating, I think, going for it right, to try
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: to like kneel out the clock right, you know, pick
- 1:49:07Speaker 4: up the first down and kneel it out and Brady
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: was like, we kick it. It's a two swear game.
- 1:49:12Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: He sounded like, Paul, what are we doing?
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, we're up.
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: Boston Cream's on the line. What's up, Boston Cream?
- 1:49:19Speaker 14: Hey, guys, really excited to wear my Patriots jersey with
- 1:49:22Speaker 14: my backwards Patman and the heart by Splint Schworts today
- 1:49:26Speaker 14: in public?
- 1:49:27Speaker 11: Nice?
- 1:49:27Speaker 14: Maybe even my Edelman jersey. I just wanted to comment,
- 1:49:31Speaker 14: really happy that Edelman got in. Clearly he's better than
- 1:49:34Speaker 14: Welker because he caught one ball. Everyone totally forgets that
- 1:49:38Speaker 14: he had multiple drops on third down in that Super Bowl.
- 1:49:40Speaker 14: That doesn't matter because Patriot's one and the defense saved
- 1:49:43Speaker 14: his legacy. My question is I can go on a rams,
- 1:49:49Speaker 14: I can go on as serious right. I don't know
- 1:49:51Speaker 14: how people think that Edelman is so much better of
- 1:49:54Speaker 14: a player over Welker.
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: They're both great, but they're both great. I have no
- 1:49:59Speaker 3: problem like those two guys to me, As I said earlier,
- 1:50:02Speaker 3: I wouldn't even have to think about them being in
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: the Hall of Fame, the Patriots Hall of Fame. I
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: did lock.
- 1:50:09Speaker 14: I think it's the Super Bowl career was Welker's career
- 1:50:13Speaker 14: was kind of at the infansity of social media, and
- 1:50:17Speaker 14: a lot of the people that are on social media
- 1:50:19Speaker 14: right now probably weren't alive or were too young to
- 1:50:22Speaker 14: kind of even remember Welker. But everyone talks about one moment,
- 1:50:25Speaker 14: so they have that kind of well I've heard about it.
- 1:50:28Speaker 11: So I know it.
- 1:50:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I also would say Edelman's personality helps
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: him a lot too. He's got a great personality.
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: Well, look at.
- 1:50:37Speaker 5: Remember Kevin Falk when he wore the Brady jersey. A
- 1:50:43Speaker 5: lot of people thought that that put him over the
- 1:50:45Speaker 5: top in his voting.
- 1:50:46Speaker 3: M I mean one at the draft.
- 1:50:50Speaker 8: I remember that, Yeah, so much disrespect.
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: Kevin Falk is probably one of my ten best guys
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: that I ever covered. Like, I love Kevin Falk, but
- 1:50:59Speaker 3: come on, yeah, Richard Seymour.
- 1:51:02Speaker 14: My question is am I being a little pessimistic by
- 1:51:05Speaker 14: thinking the Patriots going to have to earn my trust?
- 1:51:07Speaker 14: But a lot of people are kind of thinking we
- 1:51:09Speaker 14: can compete for a playoff spot. And maybe it's me
- 1:51:13Speaker 14: just trauma bonding with other people, but.
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: I rama bonding.
- 1:51:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, we've we've been through it the last
- 1:51:21Speaker 5: few years, so I don't blame it you know, yeah.
- 1:51:23Speaker 3: I think he's you got to show it. I think
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: they'll be better. I think the schedule is weak. I
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: think they've improved the roster. But we got to see,
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: you how does it all come together?
- 1:51:33Speaker 4: I mean, until you know, Drake May strings together. I
- 1:51:36Speaker 4: mean he won one game as a rookie, and I
- 1:51:39Speaker 4: know it was a disaster year all around, not putting
- 1:51:41Speaker 4: that on him, but until they actually string together, you know,
- 1:51:45Speaker 4: some wins and and really show us the concept, right,
- 1:51:49Speaker 4: you know, and we.
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: Have all those games that we're sort of looking at,
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: like the schedule, and you know, we don't know for
- 1:51:55Speaker 3: sure that you know, whatever the group is Cleveland, I
- 1:51:59Speaker 3: think Indy, maybe Jacksonville, No Indy, who else? There's like
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: two or three Carolina, right, everybody has like you know,
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: just check them off. Well, what if one or two
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: of those teams turns out to be one of you know,
- 1:52:17Speaker 3: like Washington, like that you went in to be a
- 1:52:20Speaker 3: team that you went into the season thinking is going
- 1:52:22Speaker 3: to stink and that's a that's a cupcake win for you,
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: and all of a sudden when you play them, they're
- 1:52:26Speaker 3: five and one Like that can happen too. So I
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: agree with Boston team.
- 1:52:31Speaker 4: You got to see it all the all the analytics
- 1:52:34Speaker 4: models think the Patriots have one of the easiest schedules
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: in the league on paper, paper, and this is now
- 1:52:39Speaker 4: they baked into the draft and you know, everything's kind
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: of done right U And I think that I saw
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: the other day it was like they have like the
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: second or third easiest projected schedule in the NFL next year.
- 1:52:51Speaker 4: But I've heard a lot of different places, you know,
- 1:52:54Speaker 4: I think Kay Adams was kind of talking it up
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: Mena Chimes, like Adams has a playoff team, Like let's
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: I'm not trying to rain on anybody's parade, but like,
- 1:53:03Speaker 4: let's let's even can we get into camp first and
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: like see what this all looks like before we start
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: talking about the playoffs. It's a little well, it took.
- 1:53:10Speaker 7: A while from my confidence to completely disappear over like
- 1:53:13Speaker 7: the course of twenty and twenty one, you know, and
- 1:53:16Speaker 7: there were fits and starts. Sometimes they had good games
- 1:53:19Speaker 7: that made you think, all right, they're back, baby, But
- 1:53:22Speaker 7: it was weird getting that out of your head of
- 1:53:24Speaker 7: like they have Bill Belichick, Like what like how I
- 1:53:27Speaker 7: mean twenty twenty three was like what is going on?
- 1:53:30Speaker 7: Like this team is completely the antithesis of everything he's
- 1:53:33Speaker 7: tried to tell us. You didn't just get there in
- 1:53:36Speaker 7: a day and be like this suck. They're not gonna
- 1:53:37Speaker 7: win again. It's just like, I'm going to enjoy the
- 1:53:39Speaker 7: process of what kind of team is this?
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: How do they win?
- 1:53:42Speaker 8: You know, instead of like just penciling in ten.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: Wins, You're going to enjoy the process.
- 1:53:45Speaker 8: I'm gonna try to be his new tax.
- 1:53:48Speaker 3: He enjoys everything. He's going to enjoy the process.
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:53:52Speaker 5: So in the middle of the season when they have
- 1:53:54Speaker 5: a three game winning streak, when Mike, ah, you enjoyed
- 1:53:56Speaker 5: the process.
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: Wins's process over results.
- 1:53:58Speaker 8: Now it's going to be the angry call when they
- 1:54:00Speaker 8: have like a disappointing like they're three and six.
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: And how's the process now, dude, I hear you.
- 1:54:05Speaker 4: Here we go.
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: I'll be feeding some people of those lines.
- 1:54:08Speaker 5: Curtis and Saint Louis. So I voted for Vinitari just
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: to be clear, Fred. That being said, look at it
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: this way, Fred, this is what you get when you
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: leave it to the masses. They go with the sexy pick.
- 1:54:19Speaker 5: People are not excited about a kicker. They want that
- 1:54:21Speaker 5: sexy wide receiver. No one claimed Clamor is over a
- 1:54:25Speaker 5: kicker in free agency or the draft. No, they want
- 1:54:28Speaker 5: the running back or the wide receiver. They want weapons.
- 1:54:31Speaker 5: I understand he's a Hall of Famer, no doubt, but
- 1:54:33Speaker 5: it's not the sexy pick my opinion. I didn't like
- 1:54:36Speaker 5: that Parcel's got it. I feel that Adam and Edelman
- 1:54:39Speaker 5: should have gone. Well, we can't do both of them.
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: But anyway, I have a.
- 1:54:43Speaker 7: Question on the course of your career here doing what
- 1:54:45Speaker 7: you guys do, talking about football a lot, did you
- 1:54:48Speaker 7: notice the influence of fantasy football and suddenly people became
- 1:54:52Speaker 7: more infatuated with receivers and receptions and.
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: The influence of it on the fans I.
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: Do, And just in terms of name recognition, I think
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: it helped a lot of the you know, the receivers.
- 1:55:06Speaker 3: Like you said, I would say people think a lot
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: more of individual skill position guys in general than I do.
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: And that's why I mean in terms of like winning
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: and losing games as opposed to compiling stats.
- 1:55:18Speaker 8: It's because it changes so quick.
- 1:55:20Speaker 7: I remember, every year there's guys who are right, this
- 1:55:23Speaker 7: is what the top five of the fantasy draft is
- 1:55:25Speaker 7: going to look like, and it changes so much so quickly,
- 1:55:28Speaker 7: and there are still guys that and maybe this is
- 1:55:30Speaker 7: a bad example, but like just Torell Owens, like it
- 1:55:32Speaker 7: was always we're going to twenty thirteen, twenty four, they
- 1:55:35Speaker 7: need Terrell Owens.
- 1:55:36Speaker 8: Torello has been out of the league for like three years.
- 1:55:38Speaker 7: You guys, what do we But because Fantasy football, like
- 1:55:41Speaker 7: you just you don't realize that guy he washed out
- 1:55:44Speaker 7: like two years ago.
- 1:55:45Speaker 8: But because of Fantasy it just seems like they hold
- 1:55:46Speaker 8: onto those names longer.
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: All right, well, listen, there's Frank Edelman. Frank Adelman.
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: Yeah, they juliefl Network released the video of his father
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: the Sucks and Slippers.
- 1:55:59Speaker 8: He state Frank right where he loves the fanny pack fits.
- 1:56:02Speaker 7: He's got a good story talking Frank about the fanny
- 1:56:04Speaker 7: pack because everyone in the family makes fun of Frank.
- 1:56:05Speaker 8: I guess we're wearing a fanny.
- 1:56:07Speaker 4: Pack and he just doesn't care because he loves andy
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: packs are in. Because they're back.
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: I got everything I need right here, So I'm skipped
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: at the first time around. I'll be skipping it again.
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: No, they're back and back especially for for for the females,
- 1:56:20Speaker 4: but not not the bandalier style anymore either way.
- 1:56:23Speaker 8: Right around the fanning bandeliers, a lot of.
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: The guys are wearing that it's Europeans a Seinfeld.
- 1:56:33Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, Well that's going to be it for
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: this edition of Patriots should change and what do you
- 1:56:38Speaker 3: got a meeting?
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:56:39Speaker 5: Thanks everyone, thanks for listening, Thanks for watching Catch twenty
- 1:56:42Speaker 5: two tomorrow at noon.
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: Cort, how's Barth doing.
- 1:56:45Speaker 4: He's doing well. We've been arguing for the past twelve
- 1:56:48Speaker 4: hours about the Celtics.
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: The Celtics. Okay, is that going to carry over to Catch?
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: So angry You've been a little angry about the Celtics. Well,
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: you seemingly have this thought that people think that they're
- 1:56:59Speaker 3: now in trouble. No, I haven't sensed any of this.
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: No, and I know I know. I think they have
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: a sneaky feeling they are, but they won't admit it.
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: No extra bravado to cover up for the insecurity.
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: That's fine.
- 1:57:11Speaker 4: It just annoys me that every single time they lose
- 1:57:14Speaker 4: a game like that, it becomes a referendum on the
- 1:57:17Speaker 4: entire thing. Well, right, like like that.
- 1:57:20Speaker 3: It has never happened in the history of the NBA.
- 1:57:22Speaker 3: No one's ever missed forty five threes.
- 1:57:23Speaker 4: In again, right but forty but it just becomes the
- 1:57:26Speaker 4: whole thing about the play style and the coach and
- 1:57:29Speaker 4: this and that and the other thing, and it's like,
- 1:57:31Speaker 4: all right, well, I guess like the whole thing sucks.
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: But that's the world. Is that that happens in the
- 1:57:36Speaker 3: same series enough to get in trouble and he will
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: not change. That's the concern.
- 1:57:41Speaker 4: When we're on the parade route, I'll let you know, see.
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: Okay, a little to cover the security. I'm here for it.
- 1:57:48Speaker 3: I like it.
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: That's what being a fans all about, all right.
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: And if I disagree with them, we'd have another hour
- 1:57:51Speaker 3: to argue, but I don't.
