- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: All right Simon, they did the thing Mike McDaniel.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Two days removed from when he took to the podium and said, oh, yeah, you know, I'm a great resource.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be involved in.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll be going to be having to do these.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, evidently he met with Stephen Ross and Stephen Ross said, no, no, there's not going to work.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: You are dismissed.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: He will be interviewing with for the the Cleveland Browns job soon.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: He'll definitely have interviews.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he jumps right to the top of the class in terms of offensive coordinate as I mean, I think every team will not yet tamper, Cleveland, all these places looking for offensive coordinate as well as apps.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to jump off a bridge, if you want to jump off a bridge, NFL Live has provided us the opportunity to all just march right off, hand in hand and jump off the bridge together because they said that the dream team would be
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: in Baltimore with Mike McDaniel as his offensive coordinator.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: If that happens, I'm not necessarily floraes, but can you imagine McDaniel with Lamar and Derek Henry?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, oh my god, that would be a McDaniel.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know, McDaniel with Jayden Daniels or, you know, that some, yeah, he'll get some he'll get, he, he won't be out of work for long.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: I can tell you that much.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's gonna, he's gonna have an opportunity.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: What are you, and let's, you know, you know, before we put that to bed and we talk about the future, because that's what this is about, this podcast is about.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: how would you look back at the Mike McDaniel era because in my opinion I'll give my opinion first I'm gonna look at back on it much more fondly than I did the Adam Gase experience or the Joe Philbin experience or even the Tony Sparano experience to be honest with you there was real promise there he was just he was just not ready right he was just not ready to be a head coach
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, look, there was hope there was, we had some great, we did have some great times, beaten Dallas, getting into playoffs, beating Buffalo at home, the running out of things that he didn't know.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_02]: You know, there's 70 against Denver, the offense, Tiree, the trade went to was great in 23, four touchdowns in the fourth quarter against Ravens to come back to win.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: But just too many missed opportunities, he couldn't win the big games, he couldn't win on the road, he couldn't win in the cold weather, just sounds like the quarterback ready, but
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, it just couldn't go over the hump and just some of the cultural issues that seem to raise.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: I know that I've spoken to a couple of them this afternoon.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: This will put you unhappy, you know, journalists in terms of, you know, they like Mike.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I spoke to him on a number of occasions.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: He was really nice.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_02]: He's interesting and, you know, that is not, you know, he is not a difficult cover if you're a journalist.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: you know, I think certainly from people that I know within the organization, he was well-liked, schematically, generally excellent, and there was hope.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: There really was.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: But unfortunately, it died on the vine, and you know, you go to, you know, you go, I go back to that.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: Was at the 23 season
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: eight and three and we go to San Francisco and we score in the fight the touchdowns trend share field at that point with the best team in the NFL, you know, we're something I think is the 49ers.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: I could have sworn I was I was at a friend's house and we were having a watch party after that play.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: I looked at my wife.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: She looked back at me and I'm like, think we're going to the Super Bowl.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, and really it kind of collapsed from there.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I think, you know, you go back to
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the terrible guy begins to see where we end up blowing.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: I go even further.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, when it collapsed, remember, we score on that plate and try to share field.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: The very next series, Jimmy Garoppolo is the quarterback.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: And Jalen Phillips and Bradley Chub tackled them.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: And he gets...
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Break his fibbia.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: And they're kicking a field goal.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, success.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's going to be 73.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: Brock Perti comes in.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and we lose the game directly to Brock party.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll be getting at the end.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: You go back to that Baltimore game that we needed to win, we ended up losing 56, 19 or over the school, games like that, just where we just, you know.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: So look, I look back on it, I'll pass it from Leap it.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's a business.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't want to play off game.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't want to do vision tile.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_02]: We certainly didn't want to support.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: We're in Cap Hell.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: We've got massive issues to go back.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, how can you look back at it on anything other than, you know, after disappointment.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: But I did think he was, you know, he was he's so innovative.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: He's so creative.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: The offense looks sexy and it's going to be ugly for a while.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it would have been ugly with him.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, I think that the dull things in that, you know, we've all complained both on this podcast and right on the discord and privately to each other that, you know, we want some adult decisions to be made.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, we've parked on enough on this podcast about how we wanted a new GM and a new head coach and a new front office.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to get that.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: We are going to get that.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I applaud Stephen Ross.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what I applaud Stephen Ross
- 6:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying that, you know, it's responsible for any of this, but I think what Akeman has done is just make them see finally, they're so myopic, is finally make them see something outside of their own, you know, their own little world of everything's okay and everything's, you know, it's all right, and I just was something that I think was Barry Jackson who's been all over this story, Barry tweeted about how the dolphins front office are aware of the fan base and they, you know, they read, so Tonga Finkler's on social
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: Tom that I think will follow me on social media.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: So he must have seen at times some of the spume that I free out or others to be adding, although it's the dolphins fans or whatever.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: He must know he's not stupid.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: And hold that fuck, because I got to let my dog in, my dog is trying to let my dog in my door.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm happy that we're now in a situation where, you know, we are going to get a bit of a reset.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to get a new general manager and unless it's champ Kelly, which I don't think you will be, we're going to get a general manager from another building.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know, for the first time in many, many years, we're going to get a general manager from out of the building.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: The general manager and the head coach are going to be paired together for better off or worse.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's interesting.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's exciting.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's something to look forward to.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, there's going to be some depressing seasons.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: But I think I hope that Steve Ross is honest and open to himself and to these coaching and GM candidates.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_02]: When he says, look, you know what, I want to win as quickly as possible.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: Vinnie, what's up?
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: I want to win it with you as possible.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: But I also have a way that this is, you know, we're in Cape Hell.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: We've got lots of big decisions to make over the quarterback and over the, the wide receiver and over the defensive end, over the free safety session, it caught.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: And over all of these guys, it's not going to be an it's a turnaround.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's going to be a couple of seasons.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: We need to get a quarterback.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: We need to,
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and I hope that there's some confidence in knowing that, okay, if it's cocaio, cocaio, cocaio, cocaio, cocaio 43, that they're going to get a bit of time and to build together with a general manager.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: But ultimately, I think it's a day that had to happen.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody likes to see somebody get sacked.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_02]: These people are human beings after all.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure Mike and Dan was in enormous pressure.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody likes to say anybody loses job, but fortunately he'll go to another place and get a good job.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I wouldn't surprise me if he
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: in maybe even one more cycle of time, but certainly two cycles of time and he's a successful head coach because he'll probably learn from his mistakes and he'll still have that innovative offensive mind and if he gets with a Lamar Jackson or something like that then he could do wonderful things.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just wanted to show on camera what was trying to knock down the
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: All right, that was the great Vinny Artega making an appearance on the podcast.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: It goes deeper, Simon, like you said, it is a business, it is an entertainment vehicle as well, right?
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you're Stephen Ross, you're thinking, look, first of all, we're talking about winning a playoff game, like it actually means something.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: Winning a division kind of means something winning an a fc winning the a fc championship game means something winning super balls making super ball appearances Those mean something the level of success here is now set at winning a playoff game since My since the dolphins have won a playoff game Let's just take the hurricanes they played in two natties they're trying to play in the third they're one one They have a chance to win a second the Miami heat have been to seven NBA finals and won three titles
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: The Florida Panthers have a president's cup trophy, two Stanley Cup titles, and three Stanley Cup Finals appearances.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: They created a soccer team for Christ's sake.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: They got Leonardo Messi here.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: They want to leeks cup and an MLS cup.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like anybody who's played any sports down here has had success except the dolphins.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: They just sit around not winning anything year in and year out.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: Stephen Ross has to be kind of sick of this already.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, you know how to say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again, he's only hired first time head coaches.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I would say you have to be all in on John Harble because that's the only thing you haven't done if you're Stephen Ross you haven't made that move you're great.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that's the move that he will and look at the connections run extremely deep.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: I was told this morning that whilst we all know that Jim Harbour and Stephen Ross have a very close relationship for their Michigan ties, John Harbour and Stephen Ross also have an extremely close relationship.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: And they have done for some time, which is not something I knew about at all.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I reiterate the point, do not mean Jim Harbour and they will let note John Harbour and Steve Ross have a very close relationship.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that you can get into it, I mean, there's so many different angles that we can go out of this, but you can get into the conversation, for example, about whether or not Miami reached out to John Harbour when he was fired.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: My understanding, I was told unequivocally that they did, I know that Barry Jackson and other people have said that that wasn't the case, it could have.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: it doesn't necessarily mean that Miami reset.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: It may be that the harbour reached out to Steve Ross, for example.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_02]: There are too many coincidences, my trust my source implicitly, there are too many coincidences for it not to be a thing, especially when he throw into the mix, the chat Alexander thing.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: It was very clear.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Let me give you a little background and then you could
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: On their website, they released BIOS of every single guy.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm going to say absolutely.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: They released the BIOS and the names of all these guys.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: And they released very quickly, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_02]: And they released the same kind of sorrow, rap or Adam Shepter.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then all of a sudden it was oops, throwing a chat on Xenertu.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: And it was done, we were told, expressly by Stephen Ross.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: This wasn't a treatment thing, it wasn't a dammerino thing, this wasn't a brand-en-short thing, this was a Stephen Ross thing.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: You're telling me that the owner did not know that Jim Harbour was about to hit the market with a guy who's worked with him for many, many years and he's really close to him.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't buy that.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't buy that.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'm really sorry.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_02]: I love Barry and I love, you know, and he's great and he may well be right.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: I just, just too many too many coincidences there for me.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think it would just be stunning to assume that Stephen Ross, who, who in the past has had an eye on both.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, John Harbour's brother and Sean Payton, another season coach with with Super World credentials, would not at the very least be massively intrigued by the option of John Harbour, right?
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: Enough to dismiss a head coach for whom might well indications and his own words this morning when he did it, that he had a huge amount of respect for and he loved, for example.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think that you go back to 2021, 2021 whenever Mike was hired.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think he was the best hire possible at that time.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: In terms of, you know, they had a, a quite a young caught about that we didn't, excuse me, that we didn't necessarily know, you know, he completely hadn't maxed out.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't know where we were gonna go with that caught back.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: And we brought an innovative playcola.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: And by God it worked for a little while, you know.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that, you know, he was, he was,
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: the right guy at the right time.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately now he's become the wrong guy.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: But I would not be for I would not be in any way, shape or form, surprise if Miami would not and let there's too much report in the afternoon to say that Miami are now at the front of the queue along with the Giants.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: So while we're coming to Miami, we talked about in the bottom of Monday night, why would he come?
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: these insiders, the Jonathan Jones is the Albert Breas, the Peter Schrager's, that there's clearly something there.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, why is he not being talked about in Cleveland?
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: Why is he not being talked about in Atlanta?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: Why is he not being talked about?
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: Why is it under the Johnson Miami?
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, even before Mike Rodney was fired, these same people were saying, you know, Harbour would be at Harbour's this, Harbour in Miami, Harbour in Miami.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: You've now got the New York media, you got Tiki Barber this afternoon on New York radio, so you know, my army, you know, they, you know, we thought Harbour would have done deals with the Johnson, now my army's in
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: So, but I don't think it's a done deal for Harvard.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: I still do wonder why he would come here.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: He's, what is he 63, 64, 63, 63.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: So this is a 63-year-old coach without a quarterback.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: Kapt up with no salary, Kapt up whatsoever.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: With massive decisions we made about the players we talked about at the top of the show.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: Versus going to the Giants with the things that they've got in place.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_02]: I still, and we're going to know pretty soon now.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to know to, we've been told by Jeff Darlington that the dolphins are going to make their decision on the general manager tomorrow.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: The interviews are happening right now as we talk.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's what, 728 UK time, 228 your time.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: We're probably going to know, it would probably be leaps tonight or for, you know, overnight.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: who is likely to be the general manager.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's going to be champ Kelly.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: I did think it potentially it was going to be Josh Williams's, but Daniel stayed.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think those two are out.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think Williams was Daniel, and I think it's Chad Alexander, and I think it's John Eric Sullivan.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: And the name to me, and I said it on Monday and Chris has been saying it, but the name to me over and over again over the last six weeks has been John Eric Sullivan, is the guy that they want.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: In terms of what he was able to do, being around that green matey,
- 15:56[SPEAKER_02]: he has no connection with Harbour, but what he does have a connection with our coaches like Jeff Hathley, you know, has done an amazing job as a defensive coordinator of the Packers, was a head coach of Boston College and a successful one, you know, a mid major school, you know, he's not only in the ACC because, you know, he's Boston College, right?
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: Or it's Adam Strenovich, very, very highly regarded offensive line coach offensive coordinate with Matt the floor.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: The third elephant in the room is Matt the floor.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: And we talked about that Monday, contract situation.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's contract posturing, but he made it to me, Matt the floor is.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: up there above hobo.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think I think it's obvious if you go with it, John Erick Sullivan, you're watching that bear's Packers game.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think they're making a high remedial.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think if it's John Erick Sullivan, he gets announced tonight or tomorrow.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that they're making a decision tomorrow and say, OK, this is Alice too.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think they wait a few days.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: And they see what happens with the Packers game against Chicago.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: And they see what happens with the financial situation about the floor or whether the floor gets fired.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he might get fired.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it would be astounding if you did.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: And then the channel, exactly, yes, there are lots of links to John Harbour, but there's also a link to Jesse Minter, for example, who is also linked to Stephen Ross because he was defensive coordinator at the University of Michigan.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't necessarily think that John Harbour is the absolute, like, you know, I'm sure Steve Ross will absolutely bending over backwards to try and get Harbour, at least for an interview.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: But I would not be surprised if John Eric Sullivan is like, I can work with Harbour, absolutely fine.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: But if he decides he wants to go to the Giants, for example, I could bring you these guys half-fleet.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_02]: I could bring you sten of it.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: I could potentially bring you Matt LaFlaught and Chad LaFlaught is on it all who's saying, I love John.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: We're good friends, we can work together, absolutely.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: But if he doesn't come, here is Jesse Minta, young defensive coordinator, Hungary, you know him, Steve, because of the Michigan days, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy,
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: So I think he's exciting, it's interesting, it's, you know, in a weird way, we're kind of at the bottom of the barrel and the only way up for us now is up.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: And if they were to turn around and go, oh, Mike with Daniel's staying and it's going to be Joshua Williams.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's not that exciting moving forwards, you know.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_02]: Now, if there's terminology yet, that it's John Erick Sullivan and John Harbour.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's John Erick Sullivan and Jeff Haffley.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, okay, cool, it's a new start.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_02]: So in the beginning, we move forwards, you know, we ride, here we go, let's see what this, this can bring.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I, who knows where it's going to go.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be surprised.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_02]: The other name that I think we should all keep an eye on his entity, Campanilei, who is well known in Miami, because obviously he was here, Steve Ross knows him, but he was also the linebackers coach of the Packers last year.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: He's gone to the Jags.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: They've got one of the best top five defense in the NFL, and you're going to see them at the weekend against Buffalo.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: They've been awesome all season.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_02]: Half a season without Travis Hunter.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: They've done a brilliant job.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_02]: Campanile, as you will kind of test to, I mentioned the discord, maybe three nights ago, that he was a name that I was repeatedly being told about how the dolphins love his style, love his kind of, what he brings to the table.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_02]: So I think he's another, John Erickson, who might be in the mix if the dolphins choose to go in that direction.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think I would be pretty surprised at this point.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: if the GM hire is not Sullivan or Alexander and if the head coach is not minter, stenovitch, athlete, company, they all hard or I think one of the, I'd be surprised is one of the, you know, anybody out of those five minutes.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: I see Jeremy Fowler talking about doing shorts and Joe Brady.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't see that.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think shorts is too old and it runs a
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: We just don't have that guy, your roommate might be that guy, but because he gets you and that's kind of the long way down the line, you know, and Yeah, I think that that's I think that that's the direction that I'll end up going in yeah job ready by the way my my neighbor So I'll go knock on his door if he gets offered to job are we Not mentioning Anthony Weaver because we have two third rompix dancing in our heads because he is interviewing for three jobs
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: if he doesn't get one of these three jobs, I would be surprised, right?
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's really well-locked.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's really well-locked in Miami, you know?
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: Does a Chad Alexander Anthony Weaver match up?
- 20:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we work.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: Potentially, I mean, now here's the thing, and I've asked this question on our discord and again, right there discord.gg forward slash only fins if you want to interact with us directly about GM searches, the players, the games, the college football playoff, whatever.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: I asked this on on a discord and it was overwhelming, which rather have Anthony Weaver as your head coach or would you rather have two third rompings.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what would you rather have I love the drop.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll take that out.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the two third round picks right that would give us four, four, four, third round, a third round picks inside of two seasons.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's it's draft capital.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: Now we need it.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's exciting.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't had much excitement.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: We're reveling in somebody else's disappointment.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I mean, bring it all.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just didn't work out.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: It just didn't work out for my husband.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't Daniel.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kidding.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: It was all within his hands.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: He played.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, like every one of those seasons, you could almost trace it to that one moment, right?
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: and we never came through in that one moment.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: And we could go and I guess we'll end it right here.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: 2022.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: The game in Buffalo in the snow.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: 8.0 lead late in that game.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Allen put on his cape.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: We lose on a walkoff vehicle in the playoffs with Skylar Thompson.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: You have them beat.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you're at the 41 yard line.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: You're essentially
- 21:56[SPEAKER_00]: 10 yard, you're already pretty much in, in Jason Sanders' field goal range, but there's almost two minutes left.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: You score a touchdown down there.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: You could win that game in the playoffs.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, have the procedural issues.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: They don't get home on on fourth and one that started the fourth and one in third and one failures.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: 2023, those are the famous failures of
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: the game in Baltimore, of course, the game against the Titans at home.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: You win the game against the Titans at home.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: You're playing the Steelers at home in the first round of the playoffs.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: Simple as that.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: So you were a Titans loss at home on Monday night football, a terrible team, by the way, that year.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: from reaching a goal that probably saves Mike McDaniel's job.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, you lose the last game of the season against Buffalo.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: 2024, the two-week concussion, the inability to get Tyler Huntley or Tim Boyle or Scholar Thompson to play adequately and you miss the playoffs.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have this season, okay?
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: Which pretty much came down to that Steaters game.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: You win that Steaters game.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: You have a shot at nine wins.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_00]: How are you going to fire a guy who's had three winning seasons inside of four seasons?
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: He always had that opportunity.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: He always failed.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess we'll leave it out right there.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: What were two names into the mix that I think I know we've like said, this is what it's going to be.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: And it comes in that MATLAF LER area.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'd be MATLAF LER would be the absolute dream.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: There's a possibility that Sean would download loses his job.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think you have to have the conversation that would he jump to an ASEAST team.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's potentially unlikely.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: You have to have the conversation.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: The other name, if Ross doesn't want a first time head coach, I don't know that Jeff halfway is not the first time head coach because he coachs the Boston College, but if that an obviously hardball isn't.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: The other name, if it's John Eric Sullivan, worth bearing in mind, is Mike McCarthy.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_02]: because he was at Green Bay during the time, obviously that you want to support there with John Erick Sullivan when he was there as a scout and personnel.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's the other, and he's got interviews.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think Tennessee and the giants, I think, are interviewing him.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think he would be a name.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: If Steve Ross says, you know, I can't do with another, you know, young guy.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think Mike McCarthy would be a name worth.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_02]: Steve Ross or Troy Eggman will have had to have said to John Erick Sullivan, what do you think about Mike McCarthy?
- 24:37[SPEAKER_02]: If we're looking for a veteran coach, who's the veteran coach that you've worked with that you think actually could still do a job, you know?
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: Remember it's seeing that Peter King interview with McCarthy and, you know, a few years ago, three, maybe three seasons ago when McCarthy was talking about Harry, kind of keeps his...
- 24:51[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's toeing the modern game and I just think that if Steve Ross is of that mind, that would be a veteran name if it is Salah and who he would say, you know, what I can do, it's still do a job with my recovery.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we're talking about all of it.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: Next time on the next three yards of a carry, maybe more.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll probably be back tomorrow with a new general manager and who knows, maybe a pursuit of John Hardball.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's where I start and I finish, you know, he's 82 years old, do what you've never done before, right?
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like, the dolphins lately, at least for the last few years, they've just said, okay, where have we failed?
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just do the complete opposite.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, where have you failed for the last, you know, 12, 15 some odd years?
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: You keep hiring first time head coaches, all of that goes away with the hire of John Harba.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: Go and do it, go and close it.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's the way I start, that's the way I end.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: We shall see.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: We will learn more about this tomorrow.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, as soon as soon as soon as news breaks, we will be right back with you.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: But, till then.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for listening to three yards per catty.
