- 0:00Speaker 1: I want you to quit your job. I want you
- 0:02Speaker 1: to do what you love. I'm going to help you
- 0:04Speaker 1: figure out, one, how to quit, and two, the plan,
- 0:09Speaker 1: five-step plan, if you are thinking of quitting, to be
- 0:13Speaker 1: able to live the life you want. Step one, whenever
- 0:16Speaker 1: you are thinking about building a business or doing something
- 0:19Speaker 1: new in your life, let's say even, it doesn't have
- 0:21Speaker 1: to be building a business. It could be traveling. You
- 0:23Speaker 1: just want to do something different. Go and explore the world.
- 0:26Speaker 1: The most important thing to think about is your runway.
- 0:29Speaker 1: How long could you last on the money you've got? Now,
- 0:32Speaker 1: a lot of the time, you'll have a lot of
- 0:34Speaker 1: costs that you could easily cut out your life. For example,
- 0:37Speaker 1: you might be going out drinking at the weekend. You
- 0:39Speaker 1: might be smoking. You might be buying a little bit
- 0:42Speaker 1: too many coffees. What is it in your life that's
- 0:45Speaker 1: taking up your money? What is it? Can you cut
- 0:48Speaker 1: it down? Now, at first, this will seem painful. If
- 0:50Speaker 1: you're a smoker, stop smoking and stop vaping. That's, of course,
- 0:53Speaker 1: going to be a pain in the It's going to
- 0:54Speaker 1: feel odd when you first do it because you're addicted
- 0:57Speaker 1: to the wrong thing. I want you to be addicted
- 1:00Speaker 1: to making your dreams happen. And that takes root if
- 1:03Speaker 1: you rip out all this stuff you don't need. All
- 1:06Speaker 1: this stuff sucking up the water in your roots that
- 1:09Speaker 1: you don't need. And that is costs you don't need.
- 1:11Speaker 1: There's another element to cost that you need to think about.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Maybe you stay living at home. There's so much pressure
- 1:18Speaker 1: to move out, to get your own flat, to sound cool.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You've got your own place. It's not cool. to be
- 1:24Speaker 1: doing work you don't love. It's not cool to not
- 1:27Speaker 1: be working on something you love. Living in a cool flat,
- 1:30Speaker 1: but doing a job. That will not make you happy,
- 1:33Speaker 1: that house. It will not. It's a lie sold to
- 1:36Speaker 1: you by the mortgage companies, the businesses that want you
- 1:38Speaker 1: to get into debt so you work for them. Don't
- 1:41Speaker 1: do it. Don't move out because your friend's moving out.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Don't move out because it sounds cool. Wait for the
- 1:46Speaker 1: right moment to do it when you can move out
- 1:48Speaker 1: and buy your own house with a profit from the
- 1:50Speaker 1: business you're building. The second thing to think about is costs.
- 1:54Speaker 1: What is it exactly you want to do? If you
- 1:57Speaker 1: want to travel, for example, how much money do you
- 1:59Speaker 1: need to do it? Now, one of the hacks around
- 2:01Speaker 1: this sort of thing is once you know what you
- 2:02Speaker 1: want to actually do, let's say it's travel, you could
- 2:04Speaker 1: think about creating a career around the thing you want
- 2:06Speaker 1: to do. So if traveling is what you want to do,
- 2:08Speaker 1: and it's a bit cheesy and corny, but yeah, maybe
- 2:10Speaker 1: you become an Instagram blogger so you can pay for
- 2:13Speaker 1: the traveling and start building up that asset, whatever it is,
- 2:16Speaker 1: that's going to enable you to go and live the
- 2:18Speaker 1: life you want to live. And maybe you need to
- 2:20Speaker 1: stay in that job for six months and while you
- 2:23Speaker 1: work on your Instagram to build it up to such
- 2:24Speaker 1: a point that maybe a brand will sponsor you to travel.
- 2:27Speaker 1: What is it you can do to get your costs
- 2:30Speaker 1: under control, but also bring revenue in? What can you
- 2:34Speaker 1: do to make money that's going to be part of
- 2:36Speaker 1: this idea you have, even if it is traveling? I
- 2:39Speaker 1: think you should start a business. But initially, just building
- 2:42Speaker 1: your own personal social media can be a mini business.
- 2:44Speaker 1: It might not sound it. People might not describe it
- 2:47Speaker 1: as a business. They might call it influencing business. but
- 2:49Speaker 1: you've got to think about how you can make money. Perhaps,
- 2:51Speaker 1: for example, you don't want to touch social media, but
- 2:54Speaker 1: you're a really good copywriter. Maybe you can help other
- 2:56Speaker 1: influencers write copy, but that can be a remote work then.
- 2:59Speaker 1: You can work anywhere. You can travel if you want
- 3:01Speaker 1: then and earn money doing remote work. So think about
- 3:04Speaker 1: where your income can come from to cover your costs.
- 3:07Speaker 1: As someone who's constantly building and scaling projects, I've learned
- 3:10Speaker 1: that the right support at the right time is what
- 3:12Speaker 1: turns ideas into real outcomes. That's why I turn to

- 4:19Speaker 1: Third thing on my list is your partner. Now, you
- 4:22Speaker 1: need to make sure that your partner in life isn't
- 4:25Speaker 1: holding you back. When I was 18 years old, I
- 4:27Speaker 1: wanted to travel, and the person I was with at
- 4:30Speaker 1: the time didn't. I succumbed to her will and carried
- 4:34Speaker 1: on working in England for another five years before I
- 4:36Speaker 1: eventually decided I am gonna travel. and I had to
- 4:39Speaker 1: break up with that person. You have to really try
- 4:41Speaker 1: and get aligned with your partner. I think having the
- 4:43Speaker 1: right partner in life is such an underrated element of success.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I promise you, I wouldn't be a multimillionaire today and
- 4:50Speaker 1: successful doing what I love if I didn't have the
- 4:52Speaker 1: right partner. I met someone called Helen Griffiths and thanks
- 4:54Speaker 1: to her, I did everything I wanted to do. If
- 4:58Speaker 1: I hadn't met her, I perhaps wouldn't have done because
- 5:01Speaker 1: I am a people pleaser. I want to make my
- 5:03Speaker 1: partner happy. And sometimes you think that comes with sacrifice.
- 5:06Speaker 1: But if you want to follow your dreams, you have
- 5:08Speaker 1: to be selfish. You have to really know who you are.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And in a selfish environment, you also think about the
- 5:14Speaker 1: partner in your life that's going to allow you to
- 5:16Speaker 1: be selfish, give you what you need. Now, luckily, Helen,
- 5:20Speaker 1: she wanted to travel too. I didn't know I could
- 5:22Speaker 1: have a partner that would want to travel too. She
- 5:24Speaker 1: wanted to see the world and do crazy things, take risks,
- 5:27Speaker 1: build businesses. She had the same interest as me. You
- 5:30Speaker 1: have to go and find people like this. You have
- 5:32Speaker 1: to know what you want. And then find someone to
- 5:34Speaker 1: join you in that journey. And to be honest, if
- 5:37Speaker 1: you really want to live a free life, you need
- 5:39Speaker 1: to be happy on your own. If you can't be
- 5:40Speaker 1: happy on your own, you've probably got a problem anyway
- 5:43Speaker 1: that will always make you addicted to the trappings of
- 5:45Speaker 1: the system. A house that will make you happy, or
- 5:47Speaker 1: a car that's going to make you happy, or some
- 5:49Speaker 1: possession in your home that's going to make you happy.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Instead of the freedom to do whatever it is you
- 5:54Speaker 1: want to do on any given day. The fourth thing
- 5:56Speaker 1: you need to work on to go and live this
- 5:59Speaker 1: life you want and quit your job is purpose. You
- 6:02Speaker 1: need something bigger than you. Now, it might be that
- 6:04Speaker 1: you don't know your purpose and you need to do
- 6:06Speaker 1: the first three things first. You need to go travel.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You need to be the right person. You need to
- 6:10Speaker 1: have your costs under control. You need to be not vaping,
- 6:13Speaker 1: not doing what you don't need in life. And then
- 6:15Speaker 1: maybe your purpose will come your way. Also, maybe you
- 6:18Speaker 1: know your purpose, but you keep thinking you haven't got
- 6:21Speaker 1: time or you haven't got the money to make it happen.
- 6:23Speaker 1: So purpose isn't something that you easily ignore. If you
- 6:27Speaker 1: do ignore it, later in life you will have regrets.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But if you don't know your purpose, the thing you
- 6:31Speaker 1: can do is go hang out with people with purpose.
- 6:33Speaker 1: If you hang out with me for a day and
- 6:35Speaker 1: see how I work, see how I think, you're going
- 6:38Speaker 1: to feel it. You're going to see what purpose looks like.
- 6:40Speaker 1: You need to go work with people that have purpose
- 6:42Speaker 1: and you're going to see that work is no longer
- 6:43Speaker 1: a negative word for these people. If you have purpose,
- 6:46Speaker 1: work is something you want to do. We're all sitting
- 6:47Speaker 1: here tonight recording this YouTube video. It's 9pm on a
- 6:51Speaker 1: Thursday night and we're all here. All seven of my
- 6:54Speaker 1: team working on this YouTube video because we want to
- 6:56Speaker 1: help people We want to help people live the life
- 6:57Speaker 1: they want to live. So we don't mind. We're having
- 7:00Speaker 1: a laugh. We're doing it. That's what purpose is like.
- 7:02Speaker 1: You don't think about things as work. You think about
- 7:04Speaker 1: them as a mission. Now, you might not be able
- 7:06Speaker 1: to figure this out straight away, but it's worth putting
- 7:09Speaker 1: down on a bit of paper what it could be.
- 7:10Speaker 1: List out the things you love to do. It can
- 7:12Speaker 1: often lead to your purpose. You'll find that your real
- 7:15Speaker 1: purpose is where pain lives. Dig into that pain. What
- 7:18Speaker 1: problem bothers you in the world that you can fix?
- 7:20Speaker 1: If you can find purpose, you can really move forward
- 7:23Speaker 1: and not worry about quitting later. The final thing I
- 7:25Speaker 1: want to share with you is ego. Now everyone will
- 7:28Speaker 1: tell you to drop the ego, and I understand why
- 7:30Speaker 1: people would say that. I certainly think ego is also
- 7:33Speaker 1: a power-up. You've got to learn to leverage ego. You
- 7:36Speaker 1: don't want to fail. Everyone says it's good to fail. Yes,
- 7:39Speaker 1: of course it is, but you don't want to fail.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I also think ego can show confidence. I think confidence
- 7:44Speaker 1: is a very important part of being successful. You have
- 7:47Speaker 1: to believe in yourself, and I think that's the good
- 7:49Speaker 1: sort of ego. You have to really think that it's
- 7:51Speaker 1: possible your ideas can come to life. At the same time,
- 7:55Speaker 1: I really think you want to look for people that
- 7:57Speaker 1: have an ego, people that take pride in themselves, people
- 8:00Speaker 1: that are fighting to have a better life. Ego is
- 8:02Speaker 1: not a bad thing like you've been told. I think
- 8:04Speaker 1: it's a power up. Now, a lot of people don't
- 8:06Speaker 1: want you to have an ego because they want you
- 8:08Speaker 1: to work for them. They want you to work in
- 8:10Speaker 1: their companies. They want you to do what you are told.
- 8:13Speaker 1: That's what the school system tells you. Sit down, do
- 8:15Speaker 1: your job, do the exam on your own, learn on
- 8:18Speaker 1: your own, wear the same outfit, don't have an ego.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Fight back, have an ego, be unique. Be original. That's
- 8:24Speaker 1: the whole purpose of being a human being. You are
- 8:26Speaker 1: an original being. If you follow these five steps, I
- 8:29Speaker 1: would say you have your costs managed, your money coming
- 8:32Speaker 1: in around the purpose you are thinking about in the future.
- 8:34Speaker 1: You are purposeful. You have the right partner and you
- 8:37Speaker 1: have an ego to give you the confidence to do it.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Quit that job because you can always get a job
- 8:41Speaker 1: back later, but you can never get the time back.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Time is the most valuable thing you've got. So stop
- 8:46Speaker 1: selling it by the hour and start buying time, not
- 8:48Speaker 1: selling time. I hope you got some value from this video.
- 8:50Speaker 1: If you have, Let me know in the comments. I'll
- 8:52Speaker 1: do more of these deep dives into how to quit
- 8:54Speaker 1: your job and do what you love. Let's go. Let's
- 8:56Speaker 1: go live the life we've always dreamed of.
