- 0:52Speaker 1: So today we're going behind the scenes of The Bachelor
- 0:54Speaker 1: with former producer Julie LaPlaca. After years producing some of
- 0:58Speaker 1: the franchise's biggest seasons, Julie unexpectedly became part of the
- 1:02Speaker 1: story herself when her relationship with Bachelor Peter Weber made headlines.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Now she's telling her side in her memoir, The Love Producer. Julie,
- 1:12Speaker 1: welcome to First and Feral. We're so excited to have you.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Thanks, ladies. Thanks for having me. Excited to be here.
- 1:17Speaker 3: How are you?
- 1:18Speaker 5: Good.
- 1:19Speaker 3: We're doing so good.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I'm a huge Bachelor fan, so I've watched almost every season.
- 1:26Speaker 1: So I want to jump into how you originally got
- 1:28Speaker 1: hired by the Bachelor franchise.
- 1:31Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a fun story. I was, you know, when
- 1:34Speaker 5: I moved to LA, I started working at the talk
- 1:36Speaker 5: show The Doctors. And actually one of the hosts of
- 1:39Speaker 5: The Doctors is a former Bachelor. Maybe before you started
- 1:42Speaker 5: watching Travis Stork. Did you ever see his season?
- 1:44Speaker 3: I don't know him, no.
- 1:45Speaker 5: It was probably when you girls were babies. That's how
- 1:47Speaker 5: long ago it was. But he was one of the
- 1:50Speaker 5: hosts of The Doctors. And actually, while I was working there,
- 1:53Speaker 5: all the girls in the office would watch The Bachelor.
- 1:56Speaker 5: That's how I started watching it again. And we'd play
- 1:58Speaker 5: the games and I'll be a contestant. And I was like,
- 2:02Speaker 5: why am I working on this show? I want to
- 2:04Speaker 5: work on that show where I get paid to travel
- 2:06Speaker 5: the world and talk about love and dating and men.
- 2:11Speaker 5: You know, my favorite shows to produce at The Doctors
- 2:13Speaker 5: were always like the Valentine's Day episode. I've always been
- 2:15Speaker 5: a sucker for a good love story. And I'm like,
- 2:17Speaker 5: I want to work there. And so, you know, I
- 2:21Speaker 5: manifested it really.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I manifested the job.
- 2:24Speaker 5: I knew the director because I had worked on some
- 2:27Speaker 5: shows with him when I first moved to L.A. So
- 2:29Speaker 5: I reached out to him. He said he passed on
- 2:31Speaker 5: my resume. Never heard back. I had a friend of
- 2:35Speaker 5: a friend who had worked there.
- 2:36Speaker 3: We met for coffee. She said she passed on my resume.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Never heard back.
- 2:40Speaker 5: And then I went for my, like, regular annual dermatologist appointment.
- 2:46Speaker 5: And we had a really good rapport because I had
- 2:48Speaker 5: booked him on the doctor's talk show before. And I
- 2:50Speaker 5: told him, like, yeah, I left. I'm looking for something new.
- 2:53Speaker 5: And he's like, would you ever want to work on
- 2:54Speaker 5: that show, The Bachelor? And I was like, yeah, that's
- 2:58Speaker 5: where I want to work.
- 2:59Speaker 3: And one of the.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Executive producers had come in the week before and given
- 3:03Speaker 5: him his cards. And so we did an email intro.
- 3:06Speaker 5: And at the time, they had just staffed up for
- 3:08Speaker 5: the season. And I just booked, like, another short-term gig.
- 3:11Speaker 5: But he's like, reach out in three months when we wrap.
- 3:13Speaker 3: And I did. And then I had an interview and
- 3:16Speaker 3: a second interview. And then I got the job. Oh,
- 3:18Speaker 3: my gosh. So cool. I love the interview. I love
- 3:22Speaker 3: that you manifested it too. That's amazing.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Well, I think it's fun because you never know how
- 3:26Speaker 5: it's going to come, right? So I did like the
- 3:30Speaker 5: practical things and then, you know, and then it came
- 3:33Speaker 5: through my dermatologist. I just think that's like the coolest story.
- 3:36Speaker 3: So cool. Awesome. Yeah. We're like big believers in manifesting.
- 3:42Speaker 2: So I love this for you because I do feel
- 3:44Speaker 2: like as much as you like force something, it.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Will not fall into place. And then literally at your cautious, right?
- 3:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:52Speaker 3: That's so random.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I know. I love it.
- 3:55Speaker 1: How long Julie, were you there? Did you work for them?
- 3:59Speaker 5: So I worked at the show for seven years, which
- 4:02Speaker 5: in bachelor years is really like 21 years. Cause you know,
- 4:06Speaker 5: you're in this tight container filming seven days a week,
- 4:09Speaker 5: 20 hour days. So it really ends one after another,
- 4:12Speaker 5: after another, but, Yeah, I was there from Andy Dorkman's
- 4:15Speaker 5: season through Matt James.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Okay, we love that. Okay, very cool. Yeah, what were
- 4:20Speaker 3: your favorite seasons?
- 4:23Speaker 1: I loved JoJo. JoJo's probably one of my favorites.
- 4:25Speaker 3: JoJo is a good one. I did love Andy, though.
- 4:28Speaker 3: I've always really loved him. Andy was a good one. Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I mean, you kind of fall in love with all
- 4:34Speaker 1: of them by the end of it, I think.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Yeah, we do a good job at that, don't we? Yes,
- 4:38Speaker 3: we do.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so I know you started out as kind of
- 4:43Speaker 1: not necessarily the lead producer.
- 4:46Speaker 3: You were a date producer. Is that correct? Yeah. So
- 4:50Speaker 3: I started on the date team.
- 4:51Speaker 5: So we're the ones planning all the dates, coming up
- 4:55Speaker 5: with creative concepts and pitching them and then figuring out
- 4:59Speaker 5: all the ins and outs of what needs to go
- 5:01Speaker 5: into the day. I'd also scout locations and negotiate trade-off
- 5:04Speaker 5: deals with hotels and tourism boards. You know, like if
- 5:08Speaker 5: we're doing an episode in Paris, I would go there
- 5:10Speaker 5: like a month ahead of time and just see everything
- 5:13Speaker 5: and anything there is to do in Paris and then
- 5:15Speaker 5: piece together. You know, what are going to be the
- 5:17Speaker 5: three best dates to put within that episode that creatively
- 5:21Speaker 5: makes sense and visually makes sense to, you know, add
- 5:25Speaker 5: all the different layers you want in the story.
- 5:29Speaker 3: It sounds exciting. You know, it was cool.
- 5:33Speaker 5: I mean, I, you know, the number of horseback rides
- 5:36Speaker 5: to waterfalls I've done and the number of helicopters I've
- 5:40Speaker 5: been on. Yeah, it's pretty cool. I've done a couple
- 5:45Speaker 5: bungee jumps. So I'm very grateful and blessed for that experience.
- 5:51Speaker 5: When we did the first season of Bachelor Paradise, it
- 5:54Speaker 5: was really cool because that was like brand new for
- 5:56Speaker 5: all of us.
- 5:57Speaker 3: And that was my first year there.
- 6:00Speaker 5: The first season we did in Tulum before like Tulum
- 6:02Speaker 5: blew up and became Tulum. Tourism gave us money to
- 6:05Speaker 5: go and like bring attention to Tulum. And I was
- 6:08Speaker 5: just like getting shaman blessings every day and doing all
- 6:12Speaker 5: the weird, like cool things.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I was in heaven. I love that too. That's so cool.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I've always wondered how much like, so obviously you're setting
- 6:22Speaker 1: all of this up, but do you, at the time
- 6:24Speaker 1: that you're setting all of this up, do you know
- 6:27Speaker 1: who the lead is and does the lead have any
- 6:29Speaker 1: say on the dates and like the places that they
- 6:32Speaker 1: visit and the travel and.
- 6:33Speaker 3: All of that? Do they have any say or no? Yeah, absolutely.
- 6:37Speaker 5: I mean, sometimes we, there's been times where we actually
- 6:40Speaker 5: don't confirm the lead until like a week before we're filming,
- 6:43Speaker 5: which is, you know, yeah, that's happened a lot while
- 6:47Speaker 5: I was there actually, maybe not a week, but like,
- 6:49Speaker 5: you know, so there's a lot of long-term prep that
- 6:51Speaker 5: goes into it. Um, but once we do know the lead,
- 6:55Speaker 5: a lot of times we'll change dates last minute, even
- 6:57Speaker 5: if we start planning other dates. And we, yeah, we
- 7:01Speaker 5: find out what interests them and, You know, obviously like
- 7:04Speaker 5: with Peter, he's a pilot. So you're going to do
- 7:06Speaker 5: some sort of aviation day. I remember like Rachel Lindsay's
- 7:11Speaker 5: from Texas and we did like, you know, bring the
- 7:13Speaker 5: rodeo to Rodeo Drive and did horses. So you try
- 7:16Speaker 5: to work with them, find out their hobbies and their
- 7:19Speaker 5: interests and incorporate those into the day as much as possible.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Yes.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's so fun.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I always think of like, you know, like the bungee
- 7:29Speaker 1: jumping dates or like the skydiving dates. Do you purposely
- 7:33Speaker 1: find like people that are terrified of that and put.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Them on those dates?
- 7:37Speaker 1: Because it seems like you guys choose the ones that
- 7:39Speaker 1: are like, oh, I'm afraid of heights.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Let's put her off a cliff and make her jump.
- 7:45Speaker 5: But afterwards, aren't they so grateful because.
- 7:47Speaker 3: They comforted a fear.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Together and that created a beautiful bonding experience between the
- 7:54Speaker 5: lead and someone who overcame their fear? So, yeah, I mean, yeah,
- 8:03Speaker 5: I mean, not always. It's not always like, you know,
- 8:06Speaker 5: torture this person. But usually if there's a good reason
- 8:10Speaker 5: to like, I think and yeah, there's naturally a bond
- 8:13Speaker 5: that forms when you go through that. So like when
- 8:16Speaker 5: you're growing a relationship, there's something really powerful and beautiful
- 8:20Speaker 5: about that, I think.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Right? Yeah. I agree. That great bonding experience. Yeah. I mean,
- 8:29Speaker 3: they might be equally as terrified. Yeah. That's true. That's true.
- 8:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Is there anything we'd be shocked by, like, as far
- 8:39Speaker 1: as producing?
- 8:41Speaker 3: Anything we'd be shocked by behind the scenes? I think, like.
- 8:44Speaker 5: yeah, people, you watch it and it's all there and
- 8:47Speaker 5: you don't necessarily think about like all the little details
- 8:50Speaker 5: that went into it.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:51Speaker 5: And like the, you know, over a hundred people on
- 8:54Speaker 5: the staff that are all behind the scenes, making it happen. Like,
- 8:58Speaker 5: you know, if we have a date, we have a location,
- 9:00Speaker 5: we have an art department that's, you know, adding all
- 9:03Speaker 5: the lanterns and the pillows and all the things and
- 9:05Speaker 5: making it look beautiful. And there's, a production team that's
- 9:08Speaker 5: making sure we have a place to go to the
- 9:10Speaker 5: bathroom when we're on the top of a, you know,
- 9:13Speaker 5: a cliff and things like that. So, just so much
- 9:16Speaker 5: that goes into it that people just don't see. You know,
- 9:21Speaker 5: I mean, I'm trying to think of any fun stories.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Like, Ben Higgins' Two-on-One and that island in the Bahamas.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Do you remember that?
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:28Speaker 3: With Olivia. And who else was there? Olivia and who? Oh, yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 3: It was real awkward with Olivia. Yes. But we had this, like, big.
- 9:36Speaker 5: We had this big plan to, like, you know, we
- 9:39Speaker 5: love the dramatic two-in-ones where, you know, then they open.
- 9:43Speaker 5: And we had this big plan of the seaplane. They
- 9:45Speaker 5: were supposed to take a seaplane there. And that morning,
- 9:47Speaker 5: I actually was with Ben, and we were shooting B-roll
- 9:49Speaker 5: with him in the seaplane around all the islands. And
- 9:54Speaker 5: then right before the date started, the seaplane wouldn't start.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Like, the seaplane just stopped blowing. And it was like, well,
- 10:02Speaker 3: what do we do now? We plan this seaplane two-on-one
- 10:05Speaker 3: and the seaplane takes off. We ended up using a bow.
- 10:08Speaker 3: It was just as dramatic and okay.
- 10:11Speaker 5: But in my head, I'm like, thank God Ben and
- 10:13Speaker 5: I didn't get stuck on the island we were filming
- 10:15Speaker 5: at like.
- 10:16Speaker 3: An hour before this.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Because, you know, there's like things where you just have
- 10:20Speaker 5: to troubleshoot and think fast, which is, you know, one
- 10:23Speaker 5: of the... The beautiful gifts about having a big team
- 10:27Speaker 5: that's been in it for so long is that you
- 10:29Speaker 5: figure it out. You always have to figure it out.
- 10:32Speaker 5: You know, you could, as I say, you could plan
- 10:34Speaker 5: a wedding, but you can't predict the weather. So you
- 10:36Speaker 5: just never know what's.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Going to happen. So true.
- 10:39Speaker 1: So you started with, is it Hannah? Was it Hannah,
- 10:42Speaker 1: your first lead?
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah, Hannah was my first lead. And what was the.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Transition from, like, how did you go from dates to?
- 10:51Speaker 1: to then lead producer. Was that kind of a dream
- 10:53Speaker 1: of yours? You manifested that.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Too, or. No, it came as a complete shock. Actually. Um, I,
- 11:00Speaker 3: you know, I was on the day team.
- 11:01Speaker 5: I'd been on the day team almost five years and
- 11:04Speaker 5: I was starting to feel a little stuck. You know,
- 11:06Speaker 5: there were like my two supervisors above me that were
- 11:08Speaker 5: never leaving. And I was just ready to grow. I
- 11:11Speaker 5: feel like once I've like learned all I could learn
- 11:13Speaker 5: in an area, I'm ready to grow and expand.
- 11:16Speaker 3: And, um, But I wasn't sure how that was going
- 11:19Speaker 3: to happen.
- 11:20Speaker 5: And then actually I was scouting Rhode Island for her
- 11:23Speaker 5: season and I got a call from my bosses and
- 11:26Speaker 5: they said, we'd actually like you to be Hannah's producer
- 11:28Speaker 5: this season.
- 11:29Speaker 3: And I was just, I.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Was actually completely shocked. But yeah, cause usually it comes
- 11:34Speaker 5: from like the cast team. Like there's the cast producers
- 11:36Speaker 5: that are always with like the, you know, 25 or
- 11:38Speaker 5: 30 men or women. And usually then one of them
- 11:42Speaker 5: becomes the lead producer. But they said, you are silly
- 11:47Speaker 5: and weird and quirky. And we just want you to
- 11:50Speaker 5: be you. And so I was honored, honestly. I was
- 11:54Speaker 5: honored and up for the challenge and excited for a change.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that is so exciting. So your personality
- 12:03Speaker 3: won him over. I love it. I guess so.
- 12:08Speaker 1: You know, you've talked about Hannah's season being a little
- 12:12Speaker 1: bit of a challenge for you because you guys didn't
- 12:13Speaker 1: initially first click, correct?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Talk about what that relationship was like. And, um, how
- 12:21Speaker 1: your relationship with her is now.
- 12:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I say we had a love-hate relationship. For me, I'm, like,
- 12:29Speaker 5: a girl's girl. I just wanted to, like, I didn't
- 12:31Speaker 5: have any, like, strategy or way I was going to
- 12:35Speaker 5: go into it. I was just like, I'm going to
- 12:36Speaker 5: be me as they directed me to be and, like,
- 12:39Speaker 5: connect and hopefully help guide her to find a good
- 12:43Speaker 5: guy out of all this.
- 12:44Speaker 1: She is very, like, you know what she's thinking, right?
- 12:48Speaker 1: That's why I think she made... such great TV is
- 12:51Speaker 1: because she would kind of say without a filter, would
- 12:54Speaker 1: you say.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Is that a good way to describe it? Yeah, totally. Yeah.
- 12:58Speaker 3: She's unfiltered.
- 12:59Speaker 5: And as I reflected on that in my own, like
- 13:02Speaker 5: healing journey, I barked on after I left the show,
- 13:04Speaker 5: I was like, Oh, maybe she was a really big
- 13:06Speaker 5: mirror for me.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Right?
- 13:07Speaker 5: Like I always was like, you know, um, half glass
- 13:11Speaker 5: full kind of girl and, and always really positive and upbeat.
- 13:16Speaker 5: And one time she's like, Julie, why are you always
- 13:18Speaker 5: so happy? You don't always need to be so happy.
- 13:20Speaker 3: You know? And I'm like, what do you mean?
- 13:23Speaker 5: And, you know, I think she embodied all emotions. And
- 13:27Speaker 5: so I now reflect back with gratitude. And I see
- 13:32Speaker 5: the lessons I learned from her on my own healing journey.
- 13:35Speaker 3: So I'm grateful for it. But in the moment, it
- 13:38Speaker 3: was very, very hard.
- 13:39Speaker 5: It's hard to, yeah, to navigate that when you just
- 13:44Speaker 5: want everyone to like you, you know? But yeah, no, we,
- 13:48Speaker 5: you know, we've since connected and I've seen she's gone.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Through her own growth and her own journey. I read
- 13:54Speaker 3: her memoir.
- 13:55Speaker 5: It was super, it was really beautiful to read and
- 13:58Speaker 5: see her own healing journey she's been on since leaving
- 14:00Speaker 5: the show too.
- 14:01Speaker 3: And so I'm really happy for her and where she's
- 14:03Speaker 3: at in her life now.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I know as a viewer watching her season, I almost
- 14:07Speaker 1: feel like, like you in a way, I grew up
- 14:10Speaker 1: kind of the people pleaser and have had to learn
- 14:12Speaker 1: to kind of you know say no when I want
- 14:15Speaker 1: to say no and things like that and so I
- 14:17Speaker 1: almost feel like watching her season people related to her
- 14:21Speaker 1: because they were like yeah I'm like I need a
- 14:22Speaker 1: little bit more of that sass or whatever you want
- 14:25Speaker 1: to call it right more feral yeah more feral that's
- 14:28Speaker 1: great yes yeah yeah I love that yeah totally awesome
- 14:34Speaker 1: and then who came after who came after Hannah Peter Peter.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Peter is the lead.
- 14:43Speaker 3: Oh, that's right. Because he was on Hannah's season. Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Yeah. So Peter was the lead and you guys connected instantly.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Was it different? It seems like it was quite different
- 14:51Speaker 3: from Hannah.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:52Speaker 5: I think coming off of Hannah's season where it was
- 14:54Speaker 5: a tough relationship, like with Peter, it instantly felt like
- 14:58Speaker 5: I was working with my best friend. Like we got
- 14:59Speaker 5: along really well, connected really well, had a lot in common.
- 15:03Speaker 5: And so it just felt very natural and easy and
- 15:06Speaker 5: organic with him.
- 15:08Speaker 3: So do you.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Remember, like, from Hannah's season, obviously you would remember him,
- 15:13Speaker 2: but did you, like, start a connection then?
- 15:15Speaker 3: Oh, no, I didn't know. Okay.
- 15:19Speaker 5: No, I mean, I mean, I would see him and
- 15:21Speaker 5: like thought he was a nice, nice, sweet guy. Yeah.
- 15:25Speaker 3: It's funny. I was actually, I remember on her season,
- 15:27Speaker 3: I was actually team Jason. Do you remember Jason? He
- 15:30Speaker 3: went home night one.
- 15:31Speaker 5: Cause it was like, there's only room for two pilots.
- 15:34Speaker 5: And I thought Jason was such a cutie.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Yeah. That's a great question.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Do you know, like as a producer, can you kind
- 15:42Speaker 1: of see what's where the lead is headed or like
- 15:45Speaker 1: who the final three are? Like, would you say first night?
- 15:48Speaker 1: Because I, not to, I want to hear your answer,
- 15:51Speaker 1: but I also feel like first night I can pick
- 15:54Speaker 1: top three.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Jordan does try to pick top three. I do. Do you?
- 15:58Speaker 3: And how do you usually, how do you usually figure
- 16:01Speaker 3: it out?
- 16:02Speaker 1: I feel like watching the lead obviously interact with the people.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I feel like I can just see it in their
- 16:08Speaker 1: mannerisms or obviously the connection. I can see who they're
- 16:13Speaker 1: gravitating toward fairly quickly.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Yeah, we always have our thoughts, for sure. And I think, yeah,
- 16:23Speaker 5: I mean, a natural instant connection is a natural instant connection.
- 16:26Speaker 5: And so it's always interesting to see how it unfolds. But, like,
- 16:30Speaker 5: for example, on Hannah's season, I mean, she was really
- 16:32Speaker 5: locked in on Luke early on.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Oh, that's right. Remember?
- 16:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:37Speaker 3: And then that shifted. Was that unexpected? From us?
- 16:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 16:45Speaker 3: That's a good question. Gosh, I can't remember to be honest.
- 16:48Speaker 5: I mean, you know, as he was starting to, as
- 16:51Speaker 5: things were starting to like get a little chaotic with
- 16:53Speaker 5: him in the house, I mean, we're like, we hope
- 16:57Speaker 5: she sees this side of him, but you know, you can't,
- 17:00Speaker 5: you can't tell them he has to come from other
- 17:02Speaker 5: sources or from their own inner like growth and figuring
- 17:06Speaker 5: it out. And so, so it's always interesting to see
- 17:08Speaker 5: which way it goes. But yeah, of course, like, we have,
- 17:11Speaker 5: we have our, our thoughts and our predictions and, and
- 17:14Speaker 5: so do they. And, and, um, it's you, but you
- 17:17Speaker 5: can never guess how it's going to unfold through the journey. Right.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Yeah. Do you purposely pick people?
- 17:24Speaker 1: And if you can't answer this, it's okay, but it's
- 17:26Speaker 1: you purposely, it's just me being a huge fan of
- 17:28Speaker 1: the bachelor wanting to know all these details. Um, Do
- 17:31Speaker 1: you purposely pick people like they could possibly be the
- 17:34Speaker 1: villain this season? Or do you feel like those kind
- 17:37Speaker 1: of unfold naturally by themselves?
- 17:39Speaker 3: You know, we're creating a TV show, right?
- 17:41Speaker 5: So you are naturally want to have an interesting cast
- 17:45Speaker 5: of characters.
- 17:46Speaker 3: So of course, you want people who are... good eligible catches.
- 17:50Speaker 5: And and will align well with whoever the lead is
- 17:54Speaker 5: and we think they'll get along well and yeah you
- 17:56Speaker 5: want people who are going to be interesting and compelling
- 17:59Speaker 5: stories on tv and so we all have our predictions
- 18:02Speaker 5: we all have our thoughts um and it's always you
- 18:06Speaker 5: know but we're also just human like so it's always
- 18:08Speaker 5: interesting to see what actually unfolds and sometimes you can
- 18:11Speaker 5: never predict you've you know what could have came you
- 18:15Speaker 5: wouldn't expect something to happen with with someone and then
- 18:18Speaker 5: like just being in that setting, you know, you see
- 18:20Speaker 5: a whole other side of them. So it's, it's always, yeah,
- 18:24Speaker 5: we have our thoughts and we have our opinions, but
- 18:26Speaker 5: it's always interesting to see like what really happens. Yeah.
- 18:30Speaker 5: Sometimes we, you know, people like to blame the producers
- 18:33Speaker 5: and be like, Oh, the edit and dah, dah, dah, dah.
- 18:35Speaker 5: But sometimes we have to actually tame down the editing
- 18:39Speaker 5: because of what, you know?
- 18:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:41Speaker 1: So you're like, that's too wild for, for family TV.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:45Speaker 3: They try to put.
- 18:47Speaker 5: The blame on the producers or maybe you should do some,
- 18:50Speaker 5: you know, turn the lens inward and, uh, and see
- 18:53Speaker 5: what's going.
- 18:54Speaker 3: On in there. Yeah.
- 18:56Speaker 2: You guys do get blamed quite a bit for stuff like, well,
- 19:01Speaker 2: the producer made me do this or the person.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so easy. But I'm going to say that,
- 19:05Speaker 3: isn't it? Yeah, we can't. We can't force you to
- 19:09Speaker 3: do anything. We're not like, you know.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah. At the end of the day, you could say no. Yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 3: I'm sure. Yeah, that's true. Yeah.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I think it'd be hard as a producer to like
- 19:20Speaker 1: you had said, when you see someone like kind of
- 19:23Speaker 1: falling for like a loop, right. And you kind of
- 19:25Speaker 1: see the chaos is going in that she's not seeing.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I think it'd be hard as a producer not to
- 19:30Speaker 1: want to step in and be like, Oh, shake you. Like,
- 19:32Speaker 1: don't you see what's happening?
- 19:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it is. It was hard.
- 19:38Speaker 5: You know, ultimately I think working with the lead, like
- 19:42Speaker 5: I'm grateful for that time, but it was hard on
- 19:46Speaker 5: a human level, I think. And eventually it got, to
- 19:50Speaker 5: me and it wasn't really aligned with, you know, who
- 19:52Speaker 5: I am and where I'm going anymore, which is why
- 19:54Speaker 5: I really had to leave. But yeah, it's tough when you,
- 19:58Speaker 5: especially if you care about the person, you want them
- 20:01Speaker 5: to like have a great experience. And, you know, I
- 20:05Speaker 5: look at like, even with Peter and Madison, like there
- 20:08Speaker 5: was a lot she held held back from him where
- 20:12Speaker 5: if she had shared that sooner he probably would have
- 20:14Speaker 5: gotten clarity a lot sooner that their lives just didn't
- 20:17Speaker 5: align um so it's it's a tricky thing and um
- 20:22Speaker 5: but we do the best we can.
- 20:24Speaker 1: With peter in particular i am and maybe you can
- 20:27Speaker 1: clear this up for the listers there you guys you
- 20:30Speaker 1: said you felt like he was your best friend and
- 20:32Speaker 1: you guys really connected on the season was that hard
- 20:35Speaker 1: i guess to watch him go on the dates with
- 20:37Speaker 1: like madison and um, you know, the other girls are,
- 20:41Speaker 1: when did your connection start becoming more than just like
- 20:44Speaker 1: a friend's connection?
- 20:46Speaker 5: Uh, no, that it wasn't hard at all during the
- 20:48Speaker 5: season to me. He was like, uh, like, like my
- 20:51Speaker 5: best friend that I was guiding on his journey. Like I, I,
- 20:54Speaker 5: I was excited for him and hopeful for him to
- 20:56Speaker 5: find as happily ever after. It wasn't until like months
- 21:00Speaker 5: later when I really started to reflect and, you know,
- 21:03Speaker 5: I almost compare it to like, Sharon Clueless when she
- 21:06Speaker 5: realized like, Oh, I love Josh.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Do you remember that moment?
- 21:12Speaker 5: You know, like her brother vibe. And then it's like, wait,
- 21:15Speaker 5: why wouldn't you want to be with your best friend?
- 21:17Speaker 5: And so it was really like months later, as I
- 21:19Speaker 5: started to reflect, and I noticed these little moments, like
- 21:23Speaker 5: in the book, it's very reflective. And it's like, Ah, yeah,
- 21:26Speaker 5: why was I upset when he was upset with me?
- 21:27Speaker 5: I should have I should have been grateful to not
- 21:30Speaker 5: have to hang out with him that night and have
- 21:32Speaker 5: a night alone.
- 21:33Speaker 3: But like, it bothered me. Why did it bother me
- 21:35Speaker 3: as well? Because I care. Right.
- 21:37Speaker 5: And so it was very more reflective, but no, when
- 21:41Speaker 5: I was in it and to me, I mean, the
- 21:43Speaker 5: love's always been unconditional and I wanted him to have
- 21:45Speaker 5: his happy.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Ending a hundred percent.
- 21:47Speaker 5: It really wasn't until tabloids speculated we were together that
- 21:53Speaker 5: I'd started to get in my head. And so it
- 21:55Speaker 5: was an interesting time for me of like, you know,
- 22:01Speaker 5: am I falling for my own like tricks of the trade?
- 22:07Speaker 5: Am I falling for this fairy tale that I've created
- 22:10Speaker 5: for so long for others? Am I getting caught up
- 22:13Speaker 5: in that, that, that fantasy as well? Or am I
- 22:17Speaker 5: actually like denying something that's really quite real and seemingly
- 22:21Speaker 5: like so many people were rooting for us at the time,
- 22:24Speaker 5: you know, and our parents had met and were you know,
- 22:28Speaker 5: Barb was giving her blessing for us to be together.
- 22:31Speaker 5: Cause he was single at the time too.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Let me clarify.
- 22:33Speaker 5: He had called off his engagement and the show was
- 22:35Speaker 5: airing on TV. So he was single. Um, even there
- 22:38Speaker 5: was a moment where I almost became the bachelorette. And
- 22:40Speaker 5: even in that meeting, they were poking to see if
- 22:43Speaker 5: we would end up together. So they were poking, our
- 22:46Speaker 5: parents were poking and, and, you know, overnight my, Follower
- 22:50Speaker 5: count was up to almost 100,000. All of them were
- 22:53Speaker 5: seemingly like, this is a modern-day rom-com.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Oh, my God, right?
- 22:57Speaker 5: So you're getting all this. It was a really interesting
- 23:02Speaker 5: time in my mind.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I imagine.
- 23:07Speaker 5: Yeah, and so, you know, yeah. So it was a tricky,
- 23:14Speaker 5: confusing time.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Time so clearly like others were seeing the connection that
- 23:18Speaker 2: you guys had it wasn't something you were like making
- 23:20Speaker 2: up yeah fairy tale because others were viewing it that
- 23:24Speaker 2: way if the tablets were coming out that way and
- 23:26Speaker 2: like your parents were seeing it that kind of thing
- 23:28Speaker 2: there was a connection that people were.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Seeing yeah you know we uh we spent new year's
- 23:33Speaker 5: eve together because again that was my job he did
- 23:36Speaker 5: a press um press there on new year's eve and
- 23:40Speaker 5: so like we were together then. And actually people started
- 23:43Speaker 5: saying it then, like, they're like, are you sure you
- 23:45Speaker 5: two don't end up together? And again, to me, we
- 23:47Speaker 5: were just, we were just friends and we had a
- 23:49Speaker 5: lot of fun together. So we were enjoying, we're, you know, we're, we're,
- 23:53Speaker 5: we're very similar personalities. We're very like outgoing personable. And
- 23:58Speaker 5: so together we're like, you know, double the fun, if
- 24:01Speaker 5: you will. And so, yes, people started to observe it then. And,
- 24:06Speaker 5: and it was coming from a lot of different angles.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I've sensed, you know, talk to different people from the show.
- 24:11Speaker 5: You know, there's a lot of people saying completely, I've
- 24:14Speaker 5: made this all up in my head and listen, there's
- 24:17Speaker 5: elements of that for sure. You daydream and you start
- 24:21Speaker 5: to write the stories in your mind. And a lot
- 24:22Speaker 5: of my book was like talking about that and shattering
- 24:26Speaker 5: those stories and how we get caught up in the
- 24:28Speaker 5: fairy tales we've been conditioned with our entire lives. Um, But,
- 24:32Speaker 5: you know, even Chris Harrison, when I finally told him,
- 24:35Speaker 5: he's like, you know, I was.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Rooting for you.
- 24:37Speaker 5: We were rooting for you guys to end up together.
- 24:40Speaker 5: And another old producer supervisor was like, oh, yeah, we
- 24:44Speaker 5: we all like saw it. So I was like, oh, OK.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Well, that's good to know. I don't know.
- 24:52Speaker 5: So, yeah, I don't think I don't think so. I
- 24:56Speaker 5: completely fabricated the whole thing. I think there was a
- 24:58Speaker 5: genuine connection and maybe it's just as friends.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Sure. Fine. I, I wish him nothing but the best.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I think he's a wonderful human.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:07Speaker 5: You know, another part of my journey was like, I've
- 25:10Speaker 5: been so good at getting all these people to share
- 25:13Speaker 5: their heart and be vulnerable and, With men, I've always
- 25:17Speaker 5: shielded mine and always, you know, as a form of
- 25:19Speaker 5: protection and not wanting to deal with rejection and the
- 25:23Speaker 5: hurt and pain that comes with that.
- 25:25Speaker 3: So I was always like the cool Loof girl.
- 25:27Speaker 5: I never showed my emotions, never showed that I cared.
- 25:32Speaker 5: And so, yeah, part of my journey was like working
- 25:35Speaker 5: through that to finally like practice what I preach and
- 25:38Speaker 5: turn the lens inward and ask myself the same questions
- 25:41Speaker 5: I'd ask contestants about like what I really want. And
- 25:44Speaker 5: for me, Peter was really the catalyst for that. And
- 25:46Speaker 5: so I'm super grateful for him because of everything that happened,
- 25:49Speaker 5: because of everything that went down. It really is what
- 25:53Speaker 5: led me to leaving the show and embarking on my
- 25:55Speaker 5: own healing journey. And, you know, none of that would
- 25:58Speaker 5: have happened if all the chaos with Peter hadn't happened.
- 26:03Speaker 5: So I'm, you know, I trust in like God's plan
- 26:06Speaker 5: that got me here and I'm.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Grateful for it all. So, yeah.
- 26:10Speaker 1: It's weird how life just works out that way. Yeah.
- 26:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:15Speaker 3: No, it is at the time.
- 26:16Speaker 5: Now I say that now in a place of like
- 26:20Speaker 5: feeling centered and having done a lot of inner healing work.
- 26:24Speaker 3: But when I left, it was really hard.
- 26:26Speaker 5: You know, I, I, on a spiritual level, they call
- 26:29Speaker 5: it like the dark night of the soul and like
- 26:31Speaker 5: all of your, you know, who you know yourself as
- 26:34Speaker 5: your identities teared away from you. And then I felt
- 26:36Speaker 5: like I was carrying this big secret and have like
- 26:39Speaker 5: a scarlet letter on my chest. And so I was
- 26:42Speaker 5: really in this sort of state of like fight flight
- 26:44Speaker 5: freeze and and anxiousness and fear and all that and
- 26:48Speaker 5: so um but through that we work through it and
- 26:52Speaker 5: and um yeah it was really a spiritual journey in
- 26:56Speaker 5: the end which I'm really happy for yeah yeah brought
- 27:00Speaker 5: me back to God I want to talk about your
- 27:02Speaker 5: healing journey um but I want to go back to
- 27:05Speaker 5: so the tablets came out that you know rumored that
- 27:09Speaker 5: you guys had some sort of relationship at that point,
- 27:12Speaker 5: did you and Peter reach out to each other?
- 27:14Speaker 1: And then how did that, how did the connection be made?
- 27:19Speaker 1: How was the connection made? Who made the connection first?
- 27:21Speaker 1: I was like, okay, we're going to go past his friends.
- 27:25Speaker 5: Uh, well we were, we're still, yeah, we were like
- 27:29Speaker 5: laughing about it and thought it was fun. And, um,
- 27:32Speaker 5: you know, getting messages from all sorts of people like,
- 27:37Speaker 5: and you know, and, I mean, Barb called me and
- 27:42Speaker 5: was praying for it to happen.
- 27:44Speaker 3: And my dad's like, Julie, are you sure? Are you
- 27:47Speaker 3: sure there's nothing there?
- 27:49Speaker 5: I've never seen you this way with a guy like
- 27:51Speaker 5: when I saw you guys together because our families had
- 27:53Speaker 5: hung out. And and so, yeah, but we were just like,
- 27:58Speaker 5: ha ha ha, you know, laughing it off. And then, yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 5: one day we were, you know, part of the season
- 28:05Speaker 5: was still airing on TV and And so I'd still
- 28:09Speaker 5: check in with him. And sometimes we'd watch episodes ahead
- 28:12Speaker 5: of time to like prep him for it. And so
- 28:16Speaker 5: one time we were doing that and had a lot
- 28:19Speaker 5: of wine. And then he made a move on me.
- 28:23Speaker 5: And in that moment, I followed my heart.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Yeah. It's always the alcohol.
- 28:38Speaker 1: You mentioned Barb. So I had seen, and maybe this
- 28:41Speaker 1: isn't true. Maybe you can clear this up. I had
- 28:43Speaker 1: seen a, something about Barb basically coming out and saying,
- 28:47Speaker 1: if you lift Peter's NBA, he can tell his side
- 28:50Speaker 1: of the story.
- 28:51Speaker 2: So I.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Guess a couple of questions. Are you and Barb still,
- 28:56Speaker 1: do you guys have still have a good relationship or not?
- 28:58Speaker 1: What do you think Barb means by that? Like, what
- 29:01Speaker 1: would Peter's side be? Yeah, I think they're not happy
- 29:05Speaker 1: about the book. So they've since stopped communicating with me.
- 29:10Speaker 1: And that's okay.
- 29:12Speaker 5: That's their choice. You know, I don't know if they've
- 29:16Speaker 5: even read it. I was very kind to all of
- 29:19Speaker 5: them in it. And it was really my story and
- 29:22Speaker 5: my heart. And he was a beautiful supporting character in it.
- 29:25Speaker 5: And so I... have no hard feelings towards him. When
- 29:29Speaker 5: she says lift the NDA, I think like, you know,
- 29:35Speaker 5: he's now brought up some points about like the manipulation
- 29:38Speaker 5: side of things as a producer which like I totally
- 29:41Speaker 5: get I'm sure that's bringing up some like old wounds
- 29:44Speaker 5: there um and that was a complicated thing for me
- 29:47Speaker 5: right because I cared about him as a person I
- 29:50Speaker 5: got really close with his family it's really hard the
- 29:52Speaker 5: like producing side and so That really is a big
- 29:55Speaker 5: reason why I left the show.
- 29:56Speaker 3: It didn't align with my truth. It didn't align with
- 29:58Speaker 3: my heart. It didn't align with who I was.
- 30:01Speaker 5: And again, that's why I'm like grateful for Peter that
- 30:03Speaker 5: like I got that clarity through all that. But they
- 30:08Speaker 5: all were like my biggest fans and cheerleaders. And I
- 30:12Speaker 5: think maybe they're just latching at straws. And if they
- 30:16Speaker 5: really want to share stuff, I have.
- 30:18Speaker 3: A great lawyer.
- 30:20Speaker 5: I mean, anyone should share their story. I'd love to
- 30:22Speaker 5: hear Peter's story. He once told me we should write
- 30:25Speaker 5: our story together. So I, you know, yeah, they're reacting from,
- 30:30Speaker 5: I think, fear and anger.
- 30:33Speaker 3: And I think they just... So I'm coming from my heart.
- 30:39Speaker 3: That's all I could do.
- 30:40Speaker 5: And I hope they see that I have no hard
- 30:42Speaker 5: feelings or ill will. This is just my story. And
- 30:45Speaker 5: there's no way I would be where I am right
- 30:47Speaker 5: now if all that hadn't happened. Again, he was the
- 30:50Speaker 5: catalyst for where I am. And it's led me to
- 30:53Speaker 5: like the deeper work I do now as.
- 30:56Speaker 3: A hypnotherapist and a coach and energy healer.
- 30:58Speaker 5: I've studied all these modalities to break through our deeper
- 31:02Speaker 5: subconscious blocks. So I really, I work with women to
- 31:04Speaker 5: empower them to work through that, work through their shame,
- 31:07Speaker 5: share their truth, share their story and become their own
- 31:10Speaker 5: leading lady, right? For so long, I was supporting character
- 31:13Speaker 5: for everyone else. And so again, I'm grateful. I have
- 31:16Speaker 5: no hard feelings to say about them. I think they're
- 31:17Speaker 5: a lovely family and I'm sorry if I hurt them
- 31:21Speaker 5: in any way. That's not my intention.
- 31:23Speaker 3: This is just my story and we all should feel
- 31:26Speaker 3: empowered to share our stories.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I hope one day that they can actually read
- 31:32Speaker 2: the book. Because I feel like a lot of times
- 31:35Speaker 2: people will jump to a conclusion about what you possibly
- 31:39Speaker 2: might be saying about them, but they actually haven't really listened.
- 31:42Speaker 2: And maybe they're not ready to listen right now, but
- 31:45Speaker 2: maybe later in life they can hear what you're saying
- 31:49Speaker 2: and you're grateful for them.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Yeah. You know, in the end, I think.
- 31:56Speaker 5: ultimately the message I hope to spread is that we
- 31:58Speaker 5: could be, all be love producers in this world. And
- 32:01Speaker 5: really it starts by going on that inner journey and
- 32:03Speaker 5: you have to work through your wounds and your triggers
- 32:06Speaker 5: and your blocks.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Right.
- 32:07Speaker 5: And like, if, if, if I'm triggering them so much
- 32:11Speaker 5: and upsetting them so much, can they look at what's
- 32:14Speaker 5: really upsetting them within and what have they not worked
- 32:17Speaker 5: through or not healed from and, and go and do
- 32:20Speaker 5: that because I'm really glad I did. And so it's
- 32:23Speaker 5: helped me get through this chaos because it could, you know,
- 32:27Speaker 5: the things people have been saying can make me like
- 32:29Speaker 5: crawl up in a ball and just want to hide
- 32:30Speaker 5: again in shame. And that is not a good place
- 32:34Speaker 5: to be. I was in that place for a long time.
- 32:37Speaker 5: I had a lot of like, you know, nights crying
- 32:40Speaker 5: myself to sleep and it was hard and it was painful.
- 32:43Speaker 5: But through that, like I, you know, I, transcend it
- 32:48Speaker 5: i'm not perfect i still have my moments it's still
- 32:50Speaker 5: like not easy but we we work through it and
- 32:54Speaker 5: um yeah and if we could just all come from
- 32:56Speaker 5: a loving heart that's that's what will.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Make the world a happier place yeah you didn't.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Leave after peter's season though right you went on to
- 33:04Speaker 1: produce quite a few more seasons.
- 33:07Speaker 5: What yeah so i ended up doing two more seasons
- 33:09Speaker 5: but that was sort of like the beginning of my
- 33:11Speaker 5: end i would say because then you know right after
- 33:13Speaker 5: peter's season um covet hit so So suddenly we were
- 33:18Speaker 5: forced to slow down. So suddenly I was forced to
- 33:23Speaker 5: be just in my thoughts and not distracted by, you know,
- 33:26Speaker 5: my 20 hour days, which at the time I thought
- 33:32Speaker 5: I manifested COVID because I was on the verge of
- 33:34Speaker 5: a mental breakdown with everything that was happening.
- 33:36Speaker 3: I feel like I need a break.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you.
- 33:39Speaker 5: Know, like, and between everything and then I had some
- 33:42Speaker 5: family stuff going on and then I was supposed to
- 33:44Speaker 5: be like, you know, at Westlake that, that week right
- 33:47Speaker 5: before COVID was like the craziest week.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Of my life. And, um, and then, yeah.
- 33:52Speaker 5: And then COVID hit. So I suddenly was able to
- 33:55Speaker 5: slow down. I was like, Oh my God, thank you.
- 33:56Speaker 5: But then it like left me to like be in
- 33:58Speaker 5: my thoughts and then with everything as you'll read in
- 34:01Speaker 5: my book. But yeah, then I saw Peter was with
- 34:04Speaker 5: Kelly and we were together like two days before that. And, uh,
- 34:08Speaker 5: and then I just dealt with like a tremendous amount
- 34:11Speaker 5: of pain and heartbreak and, um, embarrassment and shame and like,
- 34:16Speaker 5: Oh my God, I, I should have known better. Like,
- 34:22Speaker 5: how can I be such an idiot? All those like
- 34:25Speaker 5: inner thoughts and just like, and just heartbreak. I was just,
- 34:29Speaker 5: I was just, cause at the time I was like, well, maybe,
- 34:32Speaker 5: maybe this is, maybe I should just like lean into this.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Maybe this is something, I don't know.
- 34:37Speaker 5: But again, I wasn't able to like, have like a
- 34:39Speaker 5: real conversation about him. I just like, just, I was
- 34:43Speaker 5: always like, But anyway, so I was forced to slow down,
- 34:47Speaker 5: look within, and I started to meditate. And I had some, like,
- 34:52Speaker 5: some powerful spiritual experiences during COVID.
- 34:55Speaker 3: And then we picked back up. And then I was
- 34:56Speaker 3: working with, like, Claire and Tayshia.
- 34:59Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 35:00Speaker 3: And at that time, you know. Claire's been wild. Yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Wild.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah. And for a moment, like, when they were, like, considering, like,
- 35:10Speaker 5: for a moment, they considered me to be in The
- 35:12Speaker 5: Bachelorette that season. So can you imagine, like, going from, like, this, like,
- 35:16Speaker 5: possible Cinderella dream to, like, Back the, you know, back
- 35:20Speaker 5: in the rags like Cinderella.
- 35:23Speaker 3: It really felt like Cinderella. Yeah. And so I, yeah.
- 35:27Speaker 3: So it was, it was, it was hard. And it
- 35:30Speaker 3: was COVID.
- 35:31Speaker 5: So we took away the travel. And we were, like,
- 35:33Speaker 5: in Palm Springs in the middle of the desert. Getting, like,
- 35:37Speaker 5: nosebleeds every day from the COVID test. Oh, no. having
- 35:41Speaker 5: a hard time actually connecting because we were wearing these
- 35:43Speaker 5: masks and it was just it was it was it
- 35:45Speaker 5: was a lot and I think because I had gotten
- 35:47Speaker 5: into like a more normal routine during COVID and like
- 35:50Speaker 5: actually got to sleep and and and work out and
- 35:54Speaker 5: things like that it was like hard to get back
- 35:56Speaker 5: into the production mindset I actually left a little early
- 35:58Speaker 5: in that season after a grandparent passed away and when
- 36:01Speaker 5: I was home I just did a lot of inner
- 36:03Speaker 5: reflection and yeah and then decided to.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Leave that season was also when Chris Harrison was let
- 36:10Speaker 1: go correct yeah yeah did that play into your decision at.
- 36:13Speaker 5: All uh I left I left a little before that
- 36:17Speaker 5: before him okay yeah yeah I loved I.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Mean I I still love um Jesse I think he
- 36:24Speaker 1: does a great job but like Chris Harrison I don't
- 36:27Speaker 1: know I don't know how do you feel those shoes
- 36:29Speaker 1: you know he was so.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Great I know.
- 36:31Speaker 5: I always joke the ratings have gone down since me
- 36:35Speaker 5: and Chris left.
- 36:37Speaker 3: I love it. You're absolutely right. You're absolutely right.
- 36:41Speaker 5: You know, I say, yeah, Chris was just like the
- 36:45Speaker 5: face of the show and he was the face of.
- 36:47Speaker 3: The show and also a bit of the heart of
- 36:49Speaker 3: the show.
- 36:50Speaker 5: Yeah. You know, it's hard. It's hard. You know, I
- 36:54Speaker 5: hope they bring it back to like what the show
- 36:56Speaker 5: used to be. Yeah.
- 36:57Speaker 3: How do you, are you still enjoying watching it? How's it?
- 37:01Speaker 1: I actually stopped watching it not long after you guys left.
- 37:05Speaker 1: So as I'm saying, it is fairly true. We got
- 37:09Speaker 1: more invested. Justin and I are from Utah. So obviously
- 37:12Speaker 1: we got more invested when The Secret Life of Mormon
- 37:14Speaker 1: Wives and that crossover with Taylor Frankie Paul.
- 37:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I'm curious your thoughts on Taylor Frankie Paul. Do you
- 37:20Speaker 1: think they're going to air her season?
- 37:22Speaker 5: I mean, I thought for sure they were going to.
- 37:25Speaker 5: And it's interesting that they have not.
- 37:28Speaker 3: And I think.
- 37:29Speaker 5: I think if there's a world where they can, they will,
- 37:31Speaker 5: but it seems like things just kind of keep coming
- 37:33Speaker 5: up that are getting in the way of it. It
- 37:36Speaker 5: seems like just with all the legal stuff and DCF
- 37:39Speaker 5: and all that. So, so I don't know because the
- 37:42Speaker 5: time has passed. The window's getting tighter and tighter. So yeah,
- 37:48Speaker 5: when it first all happened, I'm like, oh, they'll for
- 37:50Speaker 5: sure air it. They're definitely going to still air it
- 37:52Speaker 5: at some point, but yeah. Yeah, it seems like it's
- 37:55Speaker 5: all just, like, probably legal stuff at this point, so.
- 37:58Speaker 5: Do you watch Secret Lives of Women and Wives at all?
- 38:00Speaker 5: You know, I watched, like, the first episode, and then
- 38:03Speaker 5: I was like, I can't get hooked because they'll suck
- 38:06Speaker 5: me in, and so I haven't watched it.
- 38:08Speaker 3: I've seen a lot of clips.
- 38:10Speaker 5: I know the general backstories, and I've, you know, I've
- 38:13Speaker 5: started following Taylor Frankie Paul's journey, and I think she's on, like,
- 38:17Speaker 5: a really powerful healing journey right now, and so I'm...
- 38:20Speaker 5: I'm happy to see that with her. And I hope
- 38:23Speaker 5: she continues just to heal and grow as a human.
- 38:26Speaker 5: Because I think her, you know, I think her intentions
- 38:29Speaker 5: are well.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Well, I've been shocked by the new season. So Jordan
- 38:32Speaker 2: and I are just watching it because it just released
- 38:34Speaker 2: last Thursday.
- 38:35Speaker 3: So we'll do like a recap on it.
- 38:37Speaker 2: But she is like revealing a lot of the secrets
- 38:41Speaker 2: from The Bachelor. And so from The Bachelorette of what
- 38:44Speaker 2: happened and stuff on this season. So I'm also like,
- 38:49Speaker 2: she's kind of, taking away the job. Almost taking it
- 38:53Speaker 2: away from them being able to air it now.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Yeah. I know. It almost seems like they probably won't now. Yeah. Yeah.
- 39:00Speaker 3: So I've been shocked by that, I guess. I don't know.
- 39:03Speaker 3: We'll see. I would still watch, I think. But it's still.
- 39:07Speaker 5: I think it's still like, you know, it's a guilty pleasure.
- 39:10Speaker 5: You want to watch to see it all unfold, right?
- 39:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we'll see. I don't know. I know
- 39:17Speaker 3: it's not looking too promising anymore.
- 39:18Speaker 1: But No, not especially since the new season of Secret
- 39:22Speaker 1: Life dropped.
- 39:22Speaker 3: I was like, oh, I had hope and now I'm
- 39:24Speaker 3: kind of losing the hope. Although they probably filmed that.
- 39:30Speaker 5: After, well, they still thought it maybe would air before
- 39:32Speaker 5: it premiered, but I don't know.
- 39:35Speaker 1: What happened?
- 39:35Speaker 3: She drank out of a faucet? I saw a clip. Yeah.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Yeah probably not the greatest clip for her I don't
- 39:42Speaker 1: know how I feel about that circulating around but she's
- 39:45Speaker 1: I guess probably used to the online yeah.
- 39:48Speaker 5: You know she owns every part of her and I
- 39:50Speaker 5: really admire her for that yeah yeah she does um
- 39:54Speaker 5: I want to switch gears though and talk to you
- 39:56Speaker 5: about your like healing journey because I'm very interested in
- 40:01Speaker 5: like energy work like I said we're a big big
- 40:04Speaker 5: fans of manifesting.
- 40:06Speaker 2: We've seen things happen by Jordan and I doing those things.
- 40:09Speaker 2: But also Reiki. I've done Reiki a few times with
- 40:13Speaker 2: a couple of energy workers and absolutely love it. So
- 40:17Speaker 2: I want to know what took you that direction to
- 40:19Speaker 2: learn Reiki and hypnotherapy.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Yeah, so.
- 40:24Speaker 5: Um, my, my sister's a hypnotherapist and she was, she
- 40:28Speaker 5: was a TV producer. And then once she got married,
- 40:30Speaker 5: had kids, she tried to go back to producing and
- 40:32Speaker 5: that lifestyle just didn't align with being a mom for her.
- 40:36Speaker 5: God bless producers that also raise kids. It's just the
- 40:40Speaker 5: hours are really hard, you know? And so she had
- 40:44Speaker 5: gone to hypnotherapy for her TMJ when she had like
- 40:46Speaker 5: really bad TMJ in her jaw and she had tried everything.
- 40:50Speaker 5: And And someone's like, you should try hypnotherapy. And she
- 40:53Speaker 5: was skeptical, but she went. And after three sessions, her
- 40:56Speaker 5: TMJ was gone.
- 40:57Speaker 3: And she was like, oh, my God.
- 40:59Speaker 5: So when she was like, what can I do for
- 41:00Speaker 5: a career as a mom? She decided to go to
- 41:02Speaker 5: hypnotherapy school. And while she was in hypnotherapy school, I
- 41:06Speaker 5: had just broken up with my boyfriend of five years.
- 41:11Speaker 5: This was Ari's season. I had to go to Paris
- 41:13Speaker 5: the week after my boyfriend and I broke up.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Can you imagine?
- 41:16Speaker 1: And also like be happy and like try and produce love.
- 41:21Speaker 3: When you're like in heartbreak.
- 41:22Speaker 5: Paris and a broken heart. You know, the poetic agony.
- 41:28Speaker 5: But anyway, after I got back from Ari's season, I
- 41:32Speaker 5: moved in with her because my boyfriend and I had
- 41:35Speaker 5: broken up and I'd gotten rid of all my.
- 41:37Speaker 3: I was supposed to finally move in with him. Long story.
- 41:40Speaker 5: I move in with her temporarily and I was doing
- 41:43Speaker 5: the two hour commute to my office in the West
- 41:45Speaker 5: side and just crying and crying and heartbroken. And then
- 41:51Speaker 5: she was going to hypnotherapy school and she's like, can
- 41:54Speaker 5: I try hypnosis on you? And I'm like, I don't
- 41:56Speaker 5: think I can't quiet my rambling mind. It's not going
- 41:59Speaker 5: to work on me. And she shattered those, you know,
- 42:02Speaker 5: misconceptions because everyone's hypnotizable. Actually, like every day we're in
- 42:05Speaker 5: a hypnotic state.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Really?
- 42:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:08Speaker 5: That 30 minutes before bed, that 30 minutes when you
- 42:10Speaker 5: first wake up in the morning. And basically what that
- 42:12Speaker 5: means is the filter between the conscious and subconscious mind
- 42:16Speaker 5: is open to absorb things in as truth and reality.
- 42:20Speaker 5: And this is also like where manifesting comes in. And
- 42:22Speaker 5: the subconscious dictates like 88%, sometimes up to 95% of
- 42:26Speaker 5: our day to day. And so when you're in that
- 42:29Speaker 5: hypnotic state that that filters open so you could absorb
- 42:33Speaker 5: things in as truth and reality. And as the subconscious
- 42:36Speaker 5: absorbs that in, it's going to do everything it can
- 42:38Speaker 5: to make that your reality because, um, for better or worse,
- 42:43Speaker 5: what it holds onto equals pleasure, right? A lot of
- 42:46Speaker 5: your subconscious is forming your childhood from like zero to
- 42:49Speaker 5: eight when you're just, you're subconscious, like a sponge taking
- 42:52Speaker 5: in everything as truth and reality, you know? So that's
- 42:56Speaker 5: why like a lot of people you think when you
- 42:58Speaker 5: reflect on relationships, like what was your first example of
- 43:00Speaker 5: love growing up? And, you know, people often repeat those
- 43:03Speaker 5: patterns as an adult. But anyway, so she hypnotized me
- 43:07Speaker 5: to help me with my breakup. And after two sessions,
- 43:09Speaker 5: I was like transformed.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Wow.
- 43:13Speaker 3: OK, this is powerful.
- 43:15Speaker 5: And then and so when I left The Bachelor and
- 43:18Speaker 5: had no idea what I was doing in my life,
- 43:20Speaker 5: I knew I needed to leave. And I was like,
- 43:22Speaker 5: I had a million ideas in my head I want
- 43:24Speaker 5: to try to create. But then the hypnotherapy school was
- 43:27Speaker 5: starting the next week. So I was like, oh, it
- 43:28Speaker 5: must be a sign.
- 43:29Speaker 3: From the universe. Let me sign up.
- 43:31Speaker 5: Partially so people stop, don't ask me what I'm doing
- 43:33Speaker 5: or I could just say I'm in school, you know.
- 43:36Speaker 5: And partially because I was intrigued and curious and having
- 43:39Speaker 5: done more like meditating and during COVID time, I was
- 43:43Speaker 5: like intrigued by the subconscious. So I started studying that.
- 43:47Speaker 5: And then I was still like going in and out
- 43:48Speaker 5: of production. So sometimes I'd pause school, go back. And
- 43:51Speaker 5: so I got really behind. on my credits and there
- 43:54Speaker 5: was a Reiki elective one weekend, like a training. And
- 43:58Speaker 5: I was like, Oh, I've always been like intrigued by that.
- 44:01Speaker 3: It was, it was kind of weird. I'm like, I
- 44:02Speaker 3: don't get it. Hands over you. Like, I don't understand,
- 44:05Speaker 3: but like I'm behind and I'm curious.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Right.
- 44:08Speaker 5: I always try to just be like open and curious.
- 44:10Speaker 5: So I, I took the course, I ended up doing
- 44:13Speaker 5: Reiki one and two. And when I say just like
- 44:16Speaker 5: this veil was lifted, it was like the most powerful thing.
- 44:23Speaker 5: life-changing thing for me then like kind of some crazy
- 44:26Speaker 5: like woo stuff started happening like I started you know
- 44:28Speaker 5: I started seeing auras around people I started seeing like
- 44:32Speaker 5: energy like I could see like the in-between energy like
- 44:36Speaker 5: I lay down at night I could like I could
- 44:40Speaker 5: see it's almost like a static tv yeah it's really
- 44:43Speaker 5: cool yeah like some.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Some Reiki workers will like tell you a color or something?
- 44:49Speaker 2: Are you seeing colors or you're just seeing auras or like,
- 44:51Speaker 2: what does that.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Look like for you?
- 44:53Speaker 5: So actually as you're talking, I could see a glow
- 44:55Speaker 5: around you cause you're against the white wall. Um, but I,
- 44:58Speaker 5: you know, I, I haven't like honed in on the
- 45:00Speaker 5: gift enough to like, like if I focus for long enough,
- 45:03Speaker 5: I'd probably be able to see color. But right now
- 45:05Speaker 5: I just see like a, like a white glow around you. Um,
- 45:08Speaker 5: but yeah, and it was heightened like right after I
- 45:11Speaker 5: did see some, I like, I would see colors, um,
- 45:15Speaker 5: I had this really cool moment with like a deer
- 45:17Speaker 5: and the sequoias, or we just stared at each other.
- 45:19Speaker 5: And then I saw like the blue glow around the deer.
- 45:22Speaker 5: It was like, yeah, it was really, really special. And
- 45:27Speaker 5: so I, you know, all this stuff kind of started happening. And,
- 45:31Speaker 5: and then at like points, it was like a little
- 45:33Speaker 5: like scary for me. Cause it's like, this isn't normal. Like,
- 45:35Speaker 5: you know, and then, um, so it was like, yeah,
- 45:39Speaker 5: it was like a push pull, like a little bit
- 45:41Speaker 5: of resistance. Cause again, my subconscious is like, so programmed, like, what?
- 45:45Speaker 5: You can't, this can't happen. Um, but like on a
- 45:48Speaker 5: deeper level, I've been really feeling pulled and drawn towards that. Um,
- 45:53Speaker 5: and so that's the kind of stuff I'm excited to
- 45:55Speaker 5: just like keep exploring and diving into. And I, and
- 45:58Speaker 5: I do it with clients, but yeah, Reiki, I mean like, yeah,
- 46:01Speaker 5: I mean my hands, they'll, they'll just like talk to
- 46:04Speaker 5: me and it's super powerful when you, so when you
- 46:06Speaker 5: had it, did you like feel the tingling or warmness
- 46:09Speaker 5: or what did.
- 46:09Speaker 3: It feel like for you?
- 46:11Speaker 2: So, um, I've done Reiki twice with two different, um,
- 46:14Speaker 2: ladies and the first one like I mean they both
- 46:19Speaker 2: taught me like start by laying down the first time
- 46:21Speaker 2: that I did Reiki with the lady it was really
- 46:24Speaker 2: powerful and I could feel it and then when she
- 46:27Speaker 2: started talking to me about things with like relationships or
- 46:30Speaker 2: like people in the past that have passed then I
- 46:34Speaker 2: could really feel it in my body like a tingling
- 46:37Speaker 2: but the second lady that I had I don't feel
- 46:39Speaker 2: like her and I had a great connection and it
- 46:43Speaker 2: she had like some like facts wrong. And so I
- 46:47Speaker 2: don't think I was like connecting with that a hundred percent.
- 46:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:51Speaker 2: But I've done energy work with a one lady here
- 46:54Speaker 2: in town several times. And when she connects to me energetically,
- 47:00Speaker 2: my foot will like tap for a while. Yeah. And it's,
- 47:04Speaker 2: I'm not even like doing it. It's just like, I'll
- 47:05Speaker 2: notice it in the middle of our session.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Like, Oh, I'm doing this. What does that mean? just
- 47:10Speaker 3: like a yeah i mean you could explain it yeah.
- 47:14Speaker 5: Well it's probably energy releasing too yeah right yeah um
- 47:19Speaker 5: because i've had some cool sessions i mean i've had
- 47:21Speaker 5: times where my hands like go like this and like
- 47:24Speaker 5: i couldn't even like move and i'm like oh my
- 47:27Speaker 5: god my hands will move back but it's like stuck
- 47:29Speaker 5: stagnant energy that's probably needing to flow out of you
- 47:33Speaker 5: you know especially like Right. We all have our chakra systems,
- 47:36Speaker 5: like our seven chakra, even higher chakra systems, which are
- 47:39Speaker 5: our energy centers of our body. And a lot of
- 47:42Speaker 5: it gets stuck and it could be held in emotions,
- 47:45Speaker 5: like whatever, you know, different parts of the body or
- 47:48Speaker 5: can signal certain parts. But, but yeah, held in emotions
- 47:52Speaker 5: that are, you know, as you do the energy work,
- 47:54Speaker 5: it's going to release and align, align your center.
- 47:58Speaker 3: So you, yeah.
- 47:59Speaker 5: So you're coming from a centered and energetically aligned place.
- 48:04Speaker 3: But yeah, the foot, that's interesting. Yeah. Yeah. There's certain stuck,
- 48:08Speaker 3: stagnant energy probably flowing out. Yeah. I guess so. Yeah.
- 48:13Speaker 1: So I've never done Reiki. And I guess for our
- 48:16Speaker 1: listeners and for me, can you guys explain exactly, like,
- 48:19Speaker 1: is it just going in and like, is it releasing
- 48:23Speaker 1: pent up energy or like we're reading?
- 48:25Speaker 3: What is it? Yeah. So why would I go get
- 48:29Speaker 3: Reiki done? I guess is my question.
- 48:32Speaker 5: Yeah, no, that's a great question. We're all energetic beings, right?
- 48:37Speaker 5: To me, like everything is energy. And our energy centers,
- 48:43Speaker 5: we have our chakras in our body.
- 48:47Speaker 3: And things will get stuck, right?
- 48:50Speaker 5: We go through trauma and we hold it in our
- 48:53Speaker 5: body and we have our wounds and we have, or
- 48:57Speaker 5: just day-to-day life even, right? You want to you want
- 49:01Speaker 5: to be able to have your energy be in flow
- 49:04Speaker 5: and align so you could be in this like healing
- 49:07Speaker 5: flow state. People will also do Reiki for like an injury.
- 49:10Speaker 3: Right. And so, OK, so basically it's connecting with.
- 49:13Speaker 5: Like the life force energy that is around all of
- 49:17Speaker 5: us and our hands are really just the vessel. to
- 49:20Speaker 5: help move it and move it in you but you're
- 49:24Speaker 5: it's your body doing the work and we're just helping
- 49:26Speaker 5: to connect and have it flow through you um very
- 49:31Speaker 5: cool does that make sense I know it's like a
- 49:32Speaker 5: little some people like think it's but you experience.
- 49:35Speaker 3: It and you're like oh this works this is yeah.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Now I remember death you talking about it and telling
- 49:40Speaker 1: me yeah I remember that story so yeah some good
- 49:45Speaker 1: experiences for sure like through energy work but um just
- 49:49Speaker 1: recently was it Saturday George on Saturday her and I
- 49:52Speaker 1: were talking about tapping um I noticed that was something
- 49:55Speaker 1: that you also like um have done a little bit of.
- 49:58Speaker 2: School on so Tapping is something that I've learned with
- 50:01Speaker 2: like therapy, right?
- 50:02Speaker 3: Or like anxiety and things like that.
- 50:04Speaker 2: And so we were kind of chatting about how this
- 50:07Speaker 2: could potentially like help our kids, right? When it could
- 50:10Speaker 2: be just a small movement that if they're in an
- 50:13Speaker 2: anxious state during school or with friends, they can do that.
- 50:17Speaker 2: So maybe you could share like something that would be
- 50:20Speaker 2: helpful for that.
- 50:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, tapping is another form of energy work, really.
- 50:27Speaker 5: Like we have these meridian techniques energy field flows through
- 50:32Speaker 5: our body.
- 50:32Speaker 3: And with tapping, you're basically... hitting on those centers. Sorry,
- 50:36Speaker 3: my nails. I haven't got my nails. It's gel and
- 50:40Speaker 3: I can't get it off. Just compete your other ones
- 50:45Speaker 3: for you.
- 50:46Speaker 5: Yeah, but again, yeah, please. Stuck energy in the body.
- 50:52Speaker 5: And so you tap these certain points in your body
- 50:55Speaker 5: and you talk about something you're feeling. So for me, actually,
- 51:00Speaker 5: I have a chapter in the book when I first
- 51:02Speaker 5: did like a tapping workshop. And it was the first
- 51:06Speaker 5: time I said shame out loud. And then the whole
- 51:09Speaker 5: group did it all together. And I, so it was,
- 51:13Speaker 5: you start by saying like, even though I feel shame,
- 51:17Speaker 5: I still love.
- 51:18Speaker 3: And accept myself fully.
- 51:20Speaker 5: And so you start up here and then you hit
- 51:24Speaker 5: these different centers where it helps with the energy flowing
- 51:28Speaker 5: in the body and the meridian centers. And then you
- 51:30Speaker 5: just say, I feel shame, shame, I carry shame. And
- 51:34Speaker 5: there's these different points and you just tap them. And
- 51:37Speaker 5: the idea is that by doing that, you're helping the body.
- 51:40Speaker 3: Move and release it.
- 51:43Speaker 5: And and when I say I felt the most powerful
- 51:47Speaker 5: release of my shame after that one session, like I
- 51:52Speaker 5: just I mean, tears are flowing. The energy was like
- 51:56Speaker 5: moving through me and it really was like a super
- 51:58Speaker 5: powerful release. But, you know, on a day-to-day, like, you
- 52:02Speaker 5: could do it for anxiety or stress and just, yeah,
- 52:06Speaker 5: tap those points. You could look them up. It's emotional
- 52:10Speaker 5: freedom technique, EFT, or tapping. And you could look it
- 52:14Speaker 5: up online, and it has, like, the points that you
- 52:20Speaker 5: hit to basically hit those meridian points.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Yeah. That's great that you've done it, too. Yeah, and
- 52:25Speaker 3: I think for kids, yeah. It's like.
- 52:28Speaker 5: Kids, if they learn this at a younger age, like
- 52:31Speaker 5: if they have these tools at a younger age, because
- 52:34Speaker 5: otherwise it just, oh, it's all stuck in there for
- 52:36Speaker 5: so many years.
- 52:37Speaker 3: So, yeah, it could be really super powerful for kids.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Do you work with children?
- 52:43Speaker 5: I did do some work with teens. I mostly work
- 52:46Speaker 5: with adults now.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 52:48Speaker 5: I'll do, I'll sometimes do workshops with teens. I was
- 52:52Speaker 5: helping out like a teen treatment center. Um, that's the
- 52:55Speaker 5: time to actually really, that's the time you can really
- 52:59Speaker 5: help them because like before, you know, before, before all
- 53:03Speaker 5: the conditioning is like so ingrained in there, right.
- 53:06Speaker 3: It's when their brains are most open.
- 53:08Speaker 5: Um, yeah, I, I mostly work with adults right now,
- 53:11Speaker 5: but every now and then I'll go and like help, uh,
- 53:13Speaker 5: actually where, yeah, there's another treatment center I'm going to
- 53:16Speaker 5: be helping out soon.
- 53:18Speaker 3: Yeah. That's probably really rewarding.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:21Speaker 5: Yeah. yeah, I had a bit of a traumatic experience,
- 53:24Speaker 5: so I had to like pull back for a bit, but,
- 53:27Speaker 5: but it is very rewarding.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Do you care to share the traumatic experience?
- 53:31Speaker 3: What was the experience?
- 53:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:34Speaker 3: One of the girls ended up assaulting me and, um, Oh, wow.
- 53:38Speaker 3: I'm so sorry. Yeah. Thanks. It was, it was, it
- 53:43Speaker 3: was intense. Yeah. Um, Yeah.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Probably made you kind of step back for a minute.
- 53:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it did.
- 53:52Speaker 5: And it's so hard because I'm a very empathetic person
- 53:55Speaker 5: and you see they're like the stuff they've gone through
- 53:58Speaker 5: and the trauma they carry and you want to help.
- 54:02Speaker 5: And I think that was, that was earlier in my
- 54:04Speaker 5: career and I realized I need to learn how to
- 54:06Speaker 5: like cut the cord.
- 54:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 54:07Speaker 5: Cause sometimes I become too energetically entangled and I, um,
- 54:12Speaker 5: And I realized this down the line, even with the bachelor,
- 54:16Speaker 5: you know, at the time I didn't realize how sensitive
- 54:18Speaker 5: I was myself, just the energy and, you know, a
- 54:21Speaker 5: very sensitive person. I've been told I'm an empath or
- 54:24Speaker 5: I know I'm an empath. And so like, you tend
- 54:27Speaker 5: to like, when you don't know that you don't have
- 54:29Speaker 5: the tools, you just absorb everything. And so I was
- 54:32Speaker 5: taking in all those emotions of those leads and like
- 54:34Speaker 5: carrying them as my own really.
- 54:36Speaker 3: And so, um, learn these tools also cut it, cut it,
- 54:40Speaker 3: not mine to carry, you know? Yes.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Do you feel like The Bachelor in your experience there
- 54:46Speaker 1: kind of warped your sense of like reality or maybe
- 54:50Speaker 1: your perspective on love a little bit?
- 54:53Speaker 5: Sure. Yeah.
- 54:55Speaker 3: Um, I think like, I think a lot of us millennials, well,
- 54:58Speaker 3: you're a little younger.
- 54:59Speaker 5: How old are you girls? You know, we grew up
- 55:06Speaker 5: conditioned on like Cinderella and these rom-coms of the nineties
- 55:11Speaker 5: and early 2000s and like, And, you know, I mean,
- 55:15Speaker 5: as a kid, I was convinced I was going to
- 55:16Speaker 5: marry Justin Timberlake. Yeah. And then you go and like
- 55:22Speaker 5: work on a show like The Bachelor. And like I
- 55:25Speaker 5: was always the hopeless romantic at that show. I like
- 55:27Speaker 5: loved seeing the happy ending. I was always hopeful it
- 55:30Speaker 5: would work out. And yeah, but, you know, what I
- 55:34Speaker 5: appreciated about it is that we did kind of push
- 55:38Speaker 5: them to go deep. much faster and have those harder
- 55:41Speaker 5: conversations much faster. And so like, and you know, dating
- 55:45Speaker 5: in LA in real life, like it might take you
- 55:48Speaker 5: a year before you open up and share that like
- 55:50Speaker 5: really vulnerable story. And on the show, you were in
- 55:53Speaker 5: this container where it was safe to do so. And
- 55:56Speaker 5: it was encouraged to do so. And through that, like,
- 55:59Speaker 5: you know, I always say you, you come out of
- 56:00Speaker 5: the show and like, even for like Taylor, Frankie, Paul,
- 56:03Speaker 5: I think it was probably like very healing for her.
- 56:05Speaker 5: Like you learn a lot about yourself going on that journey.
- 56:07Speaker 5: And so I, I like to say I took elements
- 56:10Speaker 5: of the show and like use them on myself.
- 56:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 56:13Speaker 5: And like force myself to be vulnerable and go deeper
- 56:17Speaker 5: and all that. And so I think it's, I think
- 56:19Speaker 5: it has its perks too, but yeah, I mean, sure.
- 56:22Speaker 3: You know, I go on a date and I'm like,
- 56:23Speaker 3: where's the helicopter? Yeah, really. I don't get it.
- 56:30Speaker 5: Well, and in my book, you'll read about, I ended
- 56:33Speaker 5: up going on this whirlwind romance with this English guy.
- 56:36Speaker 5: And I felt like I was in like this bachelorette
- 56:38Speaker 5: bubble and we were doing this like bachelorette style dates
- 56:41Speaker 5: and we were going deep fast. And it was like,
- 56:44Speaker 5: I was jet-setting to London and Paris, and I felt
- 56:47Speaker 5: like I was a bachelorette.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet.
- 56:49Speaker 5: But, like, by then, I'd already, like, gone, like, I'd
- 56:52Speaker 5: learned a lot of these tools to, like, you know,
- 56:55Speaker 5: and so I found my voice more. I was able
- 56:58Speaker 5: to have, like, the vulnerable conversations with him, and so...
- 57:01Speaker 5: Eventually the bubble popped and, you know, he wasn't my person,
- 57:05Speaker 5: but it was one of the most beautiful relationships I had.
- 57:07Speaker 5: And I learned a lot about myself through the process.
- 57:09Speaker 5: So I was like really glad to have.
- 57:11Speaker 3: That, you know?
- 57:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:14Speaker 1: You just made me think of another question I had
- 57:16Speaker 1: for you. So you had mentioned that they were considering
- 57:18Speaker 1: you to be the bachelorette.
- 57:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Which I feel like would have made a great season.
- 57:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Like they could have done so much with that. So
- 57:27Speaker 1: why do you think that they chose to go? You
- 57:29Speaker 1: said it was a COVID mix with Claire and Tisha?
- 57:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it was Claire.
- 57:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Did they ever tell you why they didn't?
- 57:36Speaker 5: Well, for me, they just said no one will ever
- 57:40Speaker 5: believe your story because you're a producer and know too much.
- 57:43Speaker 3: That was ultimately the reason. And then I cried. And
- 57:46Speaker 3: I'm like, you're wrong. You're wrong. I deserve love, too.
- 57:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:53Speaker 3: So it was hard. Then I was embarrassed. And I cried.
- 57:57Speaker 1: That does, though, kind of beg the question, do you
- 58:00Speaker 1: think you could have went into it with the same?
- 58:03Speaker 3: I mean, you.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Know the backside of everything. So it might have been difficult, right?
- 58:10Speaker 5: Yeah. I think if that had happened, I would have
- 58:15Speaker 5: fully surrendered to the process and leaned in.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I really do. Yeah.
- 58:20Speaker 5: Because I've seen the pros of it. I've seen like
- 58:24Speaker 5: the positive outcomes of it. And again, like even though
- 58:28Speaker 5: like the bubble often pops and it's not their forever person,
- 58:31Speaker 5: I see like, you know, maybe it's my half glass
- 58:36Speaker 5: full side, but I see like the beauty that comes
- 58:38Speaker 5: from from fully surrendering to the experience.
- 58:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Well, do you leave your bachelorette?
- 58:44Speaker 3: I don't know if you're in a relationship now or not,
- 58:48Speaker 3: but I.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Guess if they asked you, would you say yes or
- 58:51Speaker 1: would you say no?
- 58:52Speaker 3: It's really funny because people have asked me that.
- 58:55Speaker 5: It would, it would be like, it'd be hard to
- 58:57Speaker 5: turn down the opportunity, but I also think like, I don't,
- 59:01Speaker 5: I don't, I don't think that's my path anymore.
- 59:03Speaker 3: I think I, yeah, I think I'm, yeah. but, but yeah,
- 59:09Speaker 3: never know. Never know where life's going to take you.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Your book, it was writing the book part of your
- 59:15Speaker 1: healing process as well.
- 59:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:17Speaker 5: So it's interesting because, you know, when I first left
- 59:20Speaker 5: the show and I had like, I'm like, I just
- 59:22Speaker 5: want to work on my own ideas. I was like,
- 59:24Speaker 5: if Peter and I had ended up together at the end,
- 59:27Speaker 5: that's a really good rom-com.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Right I mean everyone was saying it everyone.
- 59:31Speaker 5: Yeah and I was like I should develop it I
- 59:34Speaker 5: should do a rom-com and I actually worked with a
- 59:37Speaker 5: um this like a friend of mine I was like
- 59:39Speaker 5: an up-and-coming writer director and we fleshed out a pitch
- 59:43Speaker 5: and a treatment and and we ended up pitching it
- 59:46Speaker 5: to like all the studios around town and great feedback
- 59:51Speaker 5: and they're like you know, this is better than how
- 59:54Speaker 5: to lose a guy in 10 days.
- 59:55Speaker 3: And I'm like, yeah. Oh my God. Thank you.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: And so I, I, I got really excited about that.
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: And then, you know, I guess this is par for
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: the course on the scripted side, which was all new
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: to me, but you know, ultimately they're like, come back
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: when the script's done or you have like an actor
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: attached to it. And at the time my friend had
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: just done his first feature and he's like, I'm not
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: gonna be able to write it for like another year.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: And we were going to write it together. And I'm like,
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: I've never written a script. Like, I don't know what
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: to do.
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: And so eventually I was like, maybe I write the
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: book version first. And it was going to be fiction,
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: like a little bit like Devil Wears Prada meets Eat, Pray,
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: Love and fictionalize. And again, I didn't really have confidence
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: in myself as a writer. I was interviewing ghost writers,
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: but none of them felt right. And then eventually I
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: was like, all right, let me just try to do
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: it myself. And it's a new creative, you know, tool
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: to like try to learn. Yeah. And so I started
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: working on the fiction version myself, but then simultaneously I
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: was being pulled down the spiritual journey.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: And through that.
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: I kept getting downloads and intuitive guidance that I had
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: to share my truth and I had to share my heart.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: And it was important for like where I'm going from
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: here and the work I'm going to do. And I
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: had a lot of fear and a lot of shame
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: around that. And, and so I had to like, you know,
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: I ignored it for a while and kept doing my
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: own inner work. And then eventually I got the courage
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: and I just start to write for myself. Not sure
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: if I'd do anything for it. And it was super
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: healing and cathartic. I think like, you know, taking all
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: your crazy thoughts in your mind and just like streaming
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: it out onto the page is a really, it's a
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: really beautiful thing.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: Beautiful healing thing to do.
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: And it really, you know, I say it was really like, yeah,
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: it was, it was a, it was an act between
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: me and God really. And it was, I really felt
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: divinely connected during that time when I would just like
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: surrender and get into flow state and you talk about Reiki,
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: my hands would tingle.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: They'd be like, go right.
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: And my hands would like literally tingle. I'd be like, okay,
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: I'm half asleep right now. You know?
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: And, and yeah, so it was very cathartic and healing
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: for me. Yeah.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: And what is your, what is your goals and aspirations
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: from here?
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: Yeah. Not being a bachelorette.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: We know that.
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: Yeah. I mean, I'd love to find my partner in
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: terms of that side of things. And I, I, I, think,
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: you know, energetically, we connect with where we're at in
- 1:02:31Speaker 5: our life. So I understand now why I haven't found
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: my person yet. But I think I really had to
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: go through all this and, and heal. And so now
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: I'm like, open to that. And then in terms of
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: my career, I just hope to continue to inspire women
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: to like, not be afraid to share their voice and
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: share their heart and help them heal. I say we
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: should all embody this leading lady energy.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: So many of us tend to be the supporting character
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: for so many others. So Yeah, so now I work
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: with women and help them become their own leading lady
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: on their journey for love. And the journey for love
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: to me is really like, you know, the inner journey.
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: The journey for love is what we're all on, right?
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: It's not just romantic. It's all entities of your life. So, yeah,
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: so through hypnotherapy and coaching and energy work, I do that.
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: And I'm planning some retreats and workshops coming up. Oh,
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: that's exciting.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. Good. And then continue to write and create. Okay,
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: we're going to do just like a quick theme.
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: I had to answer fast.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: I'm trying to get better.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: So just quick rapid fire. I have just a few questions.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: So most dramatic bachelor season you produced.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: Peter Roberts. Good point.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Good point. Bachelor mansion or international travel.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: International travel. Okay. Rose ceremony or fantasy suites.
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: Fantasy suite. Cause the nice thing about fantasy suite is
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: that like, We were out of there. Rose ceremonies were
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: filming all night.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: It takes so long to film rose ceremonies. True.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: I actually have a follow-up question steering off from the
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: rapid fire. Do you guys know in the rose ceremonies,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: do you know ahead of time who the roses are
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: going to?
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: Or at least have a good idea?
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: Well, right before them because they have the cocktail party beforehand.
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay. So then, oh, like as they're handing out
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: the roses. We know as they're handing them out. You
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: already know? You do. Okay.
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: Yeah. Okay. But we literally will know maybe five minutes
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: before because we'll go through it. Because, you know, they
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: have the whole cocktail party beforehand. So that's sort of
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: their last chance.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: And then we'll.
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: Reconvene with the lead and we'll figure out, okay, who's staying.
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: And then, yeah, kind of figure out the order of names.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Has a lead ever just veered off and given a
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: rose to someone that wasn't on the list?
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: Oh, and gone rogue on us? Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: I feel like that has happened. Not with a lead
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: I was producing.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: No, usually they're pretty good at telling us. But I
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: feel like that might have happened, but I can't remember
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: with who.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Producer Julie or contestant Julie?
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: Who would cause more chaos? Well, apparently as a producer,
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: I've caused a lot of chaos, haven't I? So we'll
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: go with that. How about that?
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: And then let's do Julie in three words. That's a
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: hard one.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Oh, Julie in three words.
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: I like to think that I am genuine, compassionate, and
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: free spirited.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: I love it. We haven't known you except for this
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: quick little bit, but all three of those things, I
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: would say you come across that way.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Thank you. Thanks.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Well, this has been so fun.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: Thank you for having me. Where can our listeners find
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: your book and find you?

- 1:06:13Speaker 5: support local.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: I always encourage that. Oh, I love that.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
