Larry White Set for Trial in Deadly 2018 Prison Riot | Columbia News
Larry White, accused of playing a key role in South Carolina’s deadliest prison riot in 2018 that killed seven inmates, finally goes on trial this Monday. Facing three counts of first-degree assault by mob for allegedly causing three deaths, his case was delayed after he fired his lawyer — jury selection begins Monday, with possible testimony the same day. The riot, fueled by gang tensions, overcrowding, and understaffing, remains a pivotal moment in the state’s correctional history.
