- 2:45Hello everybody, and welcome to Into the Weeds podcast here on

- 2:52joining us tonight. We have a good show for you.
- 2:55It's actually something that is very important.
- 2:58And I hope that you share it out and just get curious about this,
- 3:04please. So actually before we begin, it
- 3:09is Armed Forces Day. So happy Armed Forces Day to
- 3:12everybody, all of our men and women serving currently active,
- 3:16serving military. So thank you for your service.
- 3:20Thank you for everything that you're doing for our country and
- 3:24we are very thankful. And then we also want to say
- 3:28thank you to Military Broadcast Radio because it is our 20th
- 3:33birthday at MBR. 20 That's crazy.
- 3:37Yes, I know, and thank you, Joel, for all you do and for
- 3:42helping us veterans get our voices out there and help us to
- 3:46have a purpose again. 20 is only 2005.
- 3:52That's. Yeah, I don't like that.
- 3:54I don't like. That my little brother turns 20
- 3:56this month so woo Hoo. I know.
- 3:59And we'll be going out of town. Are we gonna be doing a show
- 4:02whenever we're gone, or are we gonna be?
- 4:05You know, I'm not sure. We'll leave it up to how we
- 4:08feel. To be determined next Saturday,
- 4:13yeah, next Saturday we'll be out of state.
- 4:16So we'll, we'll see if we'll get anything put up then and then
- 4:20the next Saturday, when do we come home on the 30th?
- 4:23What? What day of the week is that?
- 4:26A Friday, I think A. Friday.
- 4:27OK, I won't be here next Saturday then.
- 4:29Because you're going to see Tricia Paytas, right?
- 4:32I'm gonna go see Tricia Paytas, so yeah, anyway.
- 4:36I love Trisha Paytas. I love Trisha Paytas too.
- 4:39What in the world is going on down there?
- 4:41Oh, you're doing? That OK you're.
- 4:44She's got the mouse on her hand or on her hand.
- 4:47She has her mouse in her hand, on her leg.
- 4:50And so I just saw something like moving in front of her screen.
- 4:52I was trying to figure out what was going on.
- 4:54Anyway, contacts, my bad. OK, so today we are diving into
- 5:00a deeply troubling case that raises serious questions about
- 5:03the official story, law enforcement integrity and
- 5:08systematic accountability. We're going to be reviewing the
- 5:12case of Taron Evans Junior, a 26 year old black male who died
- 5:17under highly suspicious circumstances on January the
- 5:218th, 2021 in Potsdam, NY. Law enforcement has ruled his
- 5:27death a suicide via Wellbutrin overdose.
- 5:30But as we dig into the details of the case, it looks, you know,
- 5:37it looks to kind of fall apart. So we've spoken with Terron's
- 5:42mother, Jennifer Baxter, and who has tirelessly advocated for
- 5:46transparency and justice in her son's case.
- 5:50And today we're going to watch the interview that we did with
- 5:53her and review the public records in her link tree and
- 5:58examine the inconsistencies laid out in her comprehensive case
- 6:03timeline and the PDF that I created with the help of
- 6:07ChatGPT. But it was it, it helped really
- 6:12map out everything. And I encourage everybody to go
- 6:16to the link tree and follow along with us as we're doing it
- 6:19and and share that out. Yeah, absolutely.
- 6:23And I feel so bad I wasn't able to be here for the for the
- 6:27interview, but I'm really excited to be talking about it
- 6:32now. So all the love to her, to
- 6:35Jennifer. We just followed each other on
- 6:37TikTok today. I think so.
- 6:39OK. But yeah, but let's get into it.
- 6:41Yeah, so Taron was reportedly last seen around 10:30 PM on
- 6:46January the 7th, 2021. And according to witness
- 6:49statements from the home of his girlfriend, Crystal Hamilton,
- 6:52and her son Brian Gates, the following morning, Crystal
- 6:56called 911 around 6:30 AM saying she found Tyron unresponsive.
- 7:02It's important to note that Crystal was also significantly
- 7:05older than Tyron. She was in her 40s, I believe
- 7:09her son was like around 22 years old.
- 7:13Yeah. So it's it also adds a layer of
- 7:19dynamics because when you hear Crystal talking, it almost
- 7:23sounds like she was his caregiver.
- 7:25Really. Yeah.
- 7:26As well as in a relationship with him.
- 7:29Let's just see how that goes. But.
- 7:31Yeah. So Tyron, let's see.
- 7:36Tyron was report. Let's see.
- 7:41OK, the question is, was Terron still alive?
- 7:44When emergency personnel arrived, His temperature was
- 7:48recorded at 97.7°F at the hospital, a normal temperature.
- 7:54He also had a stable blood pressure and an O2 saturation
- 7:58during the early minutes of his hospital care.
- 8:01For someone who allegedly ingested over 60 Wellbutrin
- 8:05pills hours earlier, it doesn't really add up.
- 8:08We're also going to talk about how Jennifer was denied critical
- 8:11FOIL requests. Not FOIA, but FOIL, which is
- 8:17Freedom of Information law, and that's in New York.
- 8:20Oh gosh. OK.
- 8:21Yeah. So even after she was named
- 8:24executor of Toronto State and Jennifer did receive a
- 8:29toxicology report with quantitative values like levels
- 8:33of bupropion, gabapentin and THC.
- 8:40And she's also had access to some autopsy photos.
- 8:44However, she was denied the complete supporting documents,
- 8:47including chain of custody or lab metadata for the tech
- 8:52toxicology testing unredacted autopsy documentation.
- 8:57Now if I'm wrong, she can she can correct me.
- 9:03OK, I tried. To interrupt you, I was just
- 9:05looking at you. I was going to say it didn't.
- 9:08This is probably a dumb question, but is Wellbutrin in
- 9:11his system on the toxicology report 'cause it wasn't listed
- 9:14right? There, Yeah, so, so it was in
- 9:16his system, but it said potentially fatal.
- 9:22But if you look at all of the Wellbutrin overdoses, I think
- 9:28only one person has actually died from it, and that person
- 9:32lived for four days before they actually succumbed to their
- 9:35injuries. I can only imagine.
- 9:38I mean, Wellbutrin just seems like an odd way to go.
- 9:43Yeah, it seems like an. Odd way we'll talk about that.
- 9:45And welcome, Forest friend. It's very good to see you, Tammy
- 9:49Crimes. And I know Jennifer was was in
- 9:54the comments earlier. So if you're watching, welcome,
- 9:56Jennifer. Hello everyone.
- 9:58Also Forest front, I'm sorry that our nightbot keeps like
- 10:00telling you to shut up. Basically.
- 10:02We don't know why. We might have to look into that.
- 10:05Yeah, I'll look into that. Sorry.
- 10:07Oopsie. OK, so let's see statements from
- 10:13all 5 responding officers. Only one was released, a full
- 10:18unedited body Cam footage. She was only given 2 minutes and
- 10:2236 seconds, the alleged suicide note which law enforcement
- 10:26claimed had been posted on Facebook.
- 10:30And good to see you, Jennifer. Hi Jennifer, sorry I missed you
- 10:34last time I was working. Yes.
- 10:35So this lack of transparency has forced her to pursue a second
- 10:40autopsy, which may confirm whether Taron died by an
- 10:43overdose or some other means. And so we just want to play
- 10:49Jennifer's interview and then we will get into everything else.
- 10:55And it looks like she's saying that she's still being denied
- 10:57the initial 911 call, which I can't even imagine why.
- 11:01Yeah, maybe we can help you with that.
- 11:05I've been doing FOIA FOIA requests and maybe I can help.
- 11:10Is there FOIA? There's a FOIA and a FOIL in New
- 11:15York? Or does the FOIL take over the?
- 11:16FOIL. I think the FOIL takes over the
- 11:18FOIA so. You've been doing FOIL requests.
- 11:20No, I've been doing FOIA requests, but I have not done
- 11:23anything on Terron's case. Yet.
- 11:25Oh, my bad. I'm sorry.
- 11:26I thought you were doing. That yeah.
- 11:27OK, OK, so so I. Guess we'll just have to learn
- 11:32how to submit a FOIL request. OK.
- 11:34So we're going to watch this and if anybody has any questions or
- 11:38anything like that or if you have any questions, we can stop.
- 11:40Yeah. Absolutely.
- 11:42OK. We're going to go through
- 11:44timeline of events that I came up with through ChatGPT.
- 11:50So June 2020, Taron moves to moves from Syracuse to Potsdam,
- 11:57NY to live with you. Around this time, you begin
- 12:01organizing Black Lives Matter protests in Potsdam and speaking
- 12:04out against local police misconduct.
- 12:07And then Ron joined you in your protest, including calls for
- 12:11justice for the Garrett Phillips case.
- 12:13Right, I actually had started Black Lives Matter, Potsdam, NY
- 12:18June 1st 2020. When?
- 12:21Taran. Arrived in Potsdam around June
- 12:2518th, 2020. OK.
- 12:28And what was the atmosphere like there when he came?
- 12:31Was it contentious or was it just kind of all starting to get
- 12:36contentious? It was.
- 12:38Starting, I mean, there had been a cross burning in Lisbon, NY,
- 12:47graffiti, racist graffiti written in different places
- 12:51throughout the North Country. And yeah, so it was, it was
- 12:56heating up. OK.
- 12:58And what? Compelled you to actually be an
- 13:01activist to do do this. Well, activism I've been doing
- 13:06for a long time. I started here in Syracuse, NY,
- 13:11against gun violence. And actually one of my last
- 13:16protests here before I moved to Potsdam was, you know, for those
- 13:23who have been killed by gun violence.
- 13:25And we actually were shot at twice that day.
- 13:30Yeah. So yeah, I moved up to Potsdam
- 13:34after that. And many people asked why did I
- 13:37move to Potsdam? My foster mother who raised me
- 13:41for 16 years is from there. And so that's why I moved to
- 13:46Potsdam, OK? And what is the racial makeup?
- 13:50Is it I was it like 2% black? Yes, about that.
- 13:56The only thing that brings diversity to the North Country
- 14:00period, are the colleges. OK.
- 14:03Yeah. I, we experienced that here in
- 14:05Missouri as well. There's a lot of colleges and
- 14:09you'd be surprised at some of the small towns that have, you
- 14:12know, a lot of diversity, which you wouldn't expect, but at the
- 14:16same time, you know, dealing with racism and stuff like that
- 14:18even. I.
- 14:21Actually questioned why I moved to Missouri because my husband
- 14:24had had issues. He had grown up in Detroit and
- 14:30moved to a small town in Missouri.
- 14:32And because he was new, they blamed everything on him.
- 14:37And to the point where it was actually very, very terrible
- 14:43stuff that they tried to blame him for.
- 14:45And, and thankfully, you know, with DNA and everything, you
- 14:50know, it was OK. But I've always wondered, you
- 14:54know, why we moved back back here?
- 14:57Because of all of the struggles that he dealt with just living
- 15:02in a small town, a small town atmosphere, that alone.
- 15:07Is hard it it. Is it really is We we went
- 15:12through a lot, you know, 'cause it was myself, my youngest son
- 15:18and three of my grandkids. You.
- 15:21Know and. Every single one of us, every
- 15:23single day that we went out our home, experienced some type of
- 15:28racism. I'm.
- 15:30Sorry to hear that. You know.
- 15:32And it like as far as the because I get the comments from
- 15:37a lot of people on social media and messages and this and that
- 15:40and all, you know, there's, there's a lot of diversity and,
- 15:43and Potsdam and you know, and Saint Lawrence County and this
- 15:46and that. And like I said, it's just the
- 15:48colleges and even when the students live in town in the
- 15:53college houses, they don't interact with the folks like us,
- 15:59you know what I mean, the community members.
- 16:01And so there's, I would say there is probably less than 50
- 16:11black families in Saint Lawrence County, Ohio.
- 16:15Wow. OK.
- 16:15And St. Lawrence County is the largest
- 16:17county in New York State. Oh, really?
- 16:20Yeah. By.
- 16:21By area, OK. OK, wow, that's interesting.
- 16:26OK, so summer fall of 2022 you become an outspoken critic of
- 16:32the local law enforcement because of what, 20?
- 16:3721 OH. 20. 2020 OK, sorry. My timeline's off.
- 16:44OK, so let's see. And it was because of the
- 16:48Garrett Phillips murder. A 12 year old boy had been
- 16:52murdered and Nick Hillary, a black man from Jamaica, was
- 16:58charged with his murder. Correct.
- 17:00Right. So the reason that I started,
- 17:05OK, I'm sorry. So I rewound a little bit to
- 17:09when I really started being an activist, and then I moved to
- 17:15Potsdam. And when I moved to Potsdam
- 17:17around 2012, I saw Justice for Garrett fill up signs all over
- 17:23the place. And so I started talking to
- 17:27community members, asking them what happened to Garrett.
- 17:30And most of the people were too afraid to even talk about
- 17:34Garrett's case. OK, so.
- 17:37I knew, you know, this is really big.
- 17:39This has got to be something really, really big for these
- 17:41people to be scared like this. So I educated myself, you know,
- 17:49there's a two-part documentary called Who Killed Garrett
- 17:52Phillips, along with hundreds of other, you know, videos and and
- 17:58different things on Garrett Phillips case.
- 18:03So in 2019, I believe it was October 2019, I decided I was
- 18:13going to organize a protest and a March for Garrett Phillips and
- 18:19for another child who was killed in the area.
- 18:22Not by like another person intentionally killing them, but
- 18:26because. She was killed.
- 18:29In a car accident and it was because, you know, the trees
- 18:33were not cut down for the people to see the stop sign in that
- 18:38other direction and stuff, you know.
- 18:40So I was going to plan this event.
- 18:43I was planning this event and I messaged through Facebook my
- 18:48contact person up there, which was Potsdam Police Officer
- 18:53Michael Ames, because I had lots of events prior to even October
- 18:592019, you know? Women's.
- 19:03Rights, you know, about the, the babies that were being taken
- 19:06from their families and put in cages and, you know, bullying
- 19:09and and school shootings and just so much stuff.
- 19:13So I messaged him October 20, excuse me October 19/19/2019 and
- 19:24explained to him that I was going to have this event.
- 19:28Before I say anything about the event, I said I know that you
- 19:32and people in your department are not going to be liking this.
- 19:35But I said, and I hope that nothing happens to me and my
- 19:40family, but I hope or but I'm going to organize this, you
- 19:44know. And so he messaged back and
- 19:49because the protest was to be at the police station, so he
- 19:53messaged back and said to come in and meet with him and Police
- 19:57Chief Mark Murray to discuss the details of the event.
- 20:02So. When I.
- 20:03Got to the police station. Police Chief Mark Murray again
- 20:08was not in his office. So Ames and I sat in the lobby
- 20:14and talked. And when he told me that that is
- 20:20not how he wanted to spend his Saturday, that's when I knew.
- 20:25He's covering. Something up?
- 20:28This is. This is bigger than I even
- 20:30thought it was before, You know, I went into office and he made
- 20:35clear to tell me that he believed Nick Hillary killed
- 20:37Garrett Phillips. And on my way out the door, he
- 20:40said, and I don't even like Jon Jones, which is the deputy
- 20:44sheriff who was supposedly a suspect in Garrett Phillips
- 20:48murder. So after I left there, I, now
- 20:54that was October 2019. Also in October 2019, I started
- 20:59a petition seeking truth and justice for Garrett Phillips.
- 21:03That was to go to the New York State attorney general, to the
- 21:06FBI, to New York State governor. And so, but at that time, I
- 21:14wasn't like, really, really, really on Garrett's case, you
- 21:23know, in the community, you know, it was more online.
- 21:30So on Christmas Day, 2019, mind you, the last time I talked to
- 21:35Officer Ames was when I told him about the protest.
- 21:40So Christmas Day, he messaged me on Facebook and asked if me and
- 21:45the kids were home and said that they had an overabundance of
- 21:50sweets in the office and we're racking their brains on who to
- 21:52give it to. Red flags went up really quick.
- 21:57Yeah. And I was just like, yeah, we're
- 21:59home, but no, thank you. We have plenty.
- 22:02OK, Just talking about that gives me chills again.
- 22:10So not only because of the racism that myself and my
- 22:15children faced, but every Black person that I've spoken to in
- 22:20Potsdam has shared their experiences.
- 22:25Of you know of. Racism and the complaints to the
- 22:29police and the police not doing anything.
- 22:32OK, so after things happened with George Floyd and Brianna
- 22:37Taylor, I was just like, you know what?
- 22:42Something has to happen here in this community, you know,
- 22:45because the police are OK with the racism and so much of the
- 22:49communities throughout Saint Lawrence County, community
- 22:52members are OK with it, You know, so I started Black Lives
- 22:56Matter Positive New York everywhere, you know, the in
- 23:03August, we'll go just a little before I started Black Lives
- 23:07Matter Positive New York. In August 20, 2020, Governor
- 23:11Andrew Cuomo issued Executive Order 2O3 on police reform.
- 23:16So every Police Department throughout New York State had to
- 23:19come up with a plan on how they were going to reform themselves
- 23:24or if they didn't by April, I forgot the date, but April of
- 23:302021, I believe it was April, then they would not have
- 23:33received their funding. OK, so when I started Black
- 23:41Lives Matter, I started talking about the Garrett Phillips case
- 23:46and how they treated Nick Hillary.
- 23:50You know. And they kept talking about, you
- 23:54know, let's move forward. We we can't move forward because
- 23:58you still have this unsolved case for of this little boy.
- 24:02And at that time, Nick Hillary was had a lawsuit going against
- 24:08certain people throughout Saint Lawrence County in positions of
- 24:12power. So, yeah, I, I immediately was
- 24:16calling them out about Nick, Hillary and Garrett Phillips and
- 24:21about how they treat black people throughout the
- 24:26communities. You know, it's, it's it's just
- 24:32so much. It's a lot, yeah.
- 24:34No. Now when I saw, I saw in the
- 24:36notes that you were actually asked to be on a committee or
- 24:39you were on the committee. OK, tell us about that.
- 24:43So the passing police Reform committee started in October
- 24:482020. I wasn't asked.
- 24:53Let me just. Correct that when when the
- 24:55governor first put it out, I was asked if I would like to, you
- 25:00know, be on that. If so, just respond.
- 25:03This is something they sent out to a whole bunch of people in
- 25:05the community. OK, The day of the first
- 25:09meeting, the only other black person on the Black Lives Matter
- 25:13Pasta and New York team contacted me and asked why
- 25:19aren't you on the list for the Pasta and Police Reform
- 25:22Committee? I said I don't.
- 25:24Know I'm supposed to be and just minutes after that the people
- 25:30from the news contacted me and asked why am I not on the list.
- 25:35You know. So I show up anyways.
- 25:39Yeah, they weren't too happy, but I showed up, you know, And
- 25:45again, right from the beginning, I brought up Garrett Phillips
- 25:50case, how they treated Nick Hillary, you know, how they
- 25:55don't do anything when we can take our complaints to the
- 26:00police about, you know, the harassment we're going through,
- 26:03you know, the physical things that my son and my grandchildren
- 26:06were going through, you know, So, yeah, I definitely was
- 26:12calling them out. You know, I resigned from the
- 26:18Potsdam Police Reform Committee in December 2020, OK?
- 26:23Because I, and on the day that I resigned, we were on a Zoom a
- 26:29lot on Facebook. It, it was just out there for
- 26:35everybody to see. And one of the committee
- 26:39members, she said, well, we have Black Lives Matter in this
- 26:43bubble and the police in this bubble and the police, their
- 26:46lives are being threatened. And da, da, da, da.
- 26:49I'm just like, hold on. You know, first of all, Black
- 26:54Lives Matter Possum New York has absolutely nothing to do with
- 26:59threatening anybody, let alone police.
- 27:02You know, and you know, Mr. Youngblood and I were the only
- 27:08two black members on the committee and we just, we
- 27:11decided that it was best for us to resign for.
- 27:15Our own. Safety at that point.
- 27:20That was December 2020. On January 7th, 2021, I got an
- 27:27e-mail from one of the committee members, and that e-mail was to
- 27:31everybody on the committee, including Potsdam Police Chief
- 27:35Mark Murray. And the person sending the
- 27:39e-mail was requesting that I lead the Potsdam Police Reform
- 27:44Committee. And she stated that anything
- 27:47less than that with the current leadership, she would also
- 27:51resign. OK.
- 27:53And I responded back on that same morning, calling out past
- 27:58and Police Chief Mark Murray and his racism and and other things.
- 28:04And by that night of January 7th, excuse me, 2021, the Saint
- 28:11Lawrence County Sheriff's had a file opened on my son, Taron
- 28:16Evans Junior, who they never had in their custody, never had
- 28:20contact with him prior to his death on January 8th, 2020.
- 28:27So yeah. I remember seeing that, so and
- 28:34we'll get into that a little bit later when we actually get into
- 28:37all of the crime, the stuff that you found out later on.
- 28:42But OK, so let's see. In my notes it says Tyron spent
- 28:48January 7th, 2021. The evening Tyron spends the
- 28:52night at Crystal's home in Potsdam, which she shares with
- 28:57her adult son Brian Gates. Now, how old is Brian?
- 29:01So I believe Brian was about 22 maybe at the time.
- 29:06OK, yeah, 2223. He's younger than Tyron, so.
- 29:11Crystal would have been in her 40s.
- 29:14Yes, OK. Yeah.
- 29:16So there was a big age discrepancy, yeah.
- 29:19Definitely, definitely. Now.
- 29:22Yes, it is said Crystal says that Taron stayed the night at
- 29:27her house. I've been told by community
- 29:30members that there was a house full of people on the night of
- 29:33January 7th. OK, you know my question is if
- 29:39he if they were not on and off dating, how did he end up back
- 29:43there? You know.
- 29:45OK, so. Let's get into that.
- 29:47Let's just get into their relationship because I remember
- 29:52seeing up here on the, I believe it was the video that you have
- 30:00on your link tree where she's being interview.
- 30:04Actually, it's not a video, it's audio, I believe, where she's
- 30:07being interviewed and she says some really weird things.
- 30:14So let's see. So let's get into how they got
- 30:24together first. What was their relationship
- 30:27like? I want to know that so we can
- 30:29kind of build on that. OK, so I know that they met in
- 30:35September 2020. Taron and I had a lunch date one
- 30:40day and he told me I met this woman, her name is Crystal.
- 30:45She's just different though, 'cause she she's giving me all
- 30:48these keys. You drive this car, this car,
- 30:50this car, she's buying me all this stuff, giving me all this
- 30:52money. He said that's not what I want,
- 30:55I just want a good woman. So he said.
- 30:58But the weird thing is she's got police that come to her house,
- 31:03you know, and a judge and I that threw something up for me.
- 31:08And I wasn't thinking police informant, you know, and
- 31:12apparently he wasn't. But I was just like, listen,
- 31:15just be careful, man. These people know what I do.
- 31:18They, they don't like us here, you know, just be careful.
- 31:22You know. And next thing I hear about him
- 31:27and Crystal is they broke up and in his words was that Bea is
- 31:30crazy and said she was going to kill me.
- 31:33OK, you know, so where? Was Taron living at that time?
- 31:37So. Taron was between my house and
- 31:40other friends, females that he was dealing with OK.
- 31:46OK. I just wanted to make sure,
- 31:48yeah. Because I had people that
- 31:51contacted me who read posts that Crystal had made, like this long
- 31:56eulogy and talking about from the moment they met until the
- 32:00time he died, they were together and this and that.
- 32:03And people were contacting me like, no, him and I were, you
- 32:07know, we're together in October and, you know, just went on.
- 32:11And I'm like, OK, well, I mean, I'm not happy to hear all that,
- 32:15but I'm happy to hear that, you know?
- 32:16Yeah, right. Yeah.
- 32:19You. Know.
- 32:20It's so it, it was not good. Definitely wasn't good.
- 32:24You know, even in the statement that her son Brian Gates gave to
- 32:31the same cop that I was calling out before Tehran's death,
- 32:35Deputy Sheriff John Jones, he said that his mother and Tehran
- 32:41were up. He heard Tehran and his mother
- 32:44up arguing around 12:00 AM. You know, so that tells me, you
- 32:50know, again, it, it wasn't healthy.
- 32:54OK, so yeah, and she is, I have looked at your link tree and
- 33:04some of the messages and about the trap house and how it's cute
- 33:08and funny and all of that. She definitely was living a
- 33:13lifestyle that was not conducive to a healthy a living situation
- 33:19at best. So I did hear you say that
- 33:26Tehran was actually Muslim or trying to convert to.
- 33:31Yeah, he was. He was studying it, OK.
- 33:34So so did that. Did he ever encounter any issues
- 33:41with that in the community? Oh, not that I know of, no.
- 33:47Taran. Taran wasn't like like he
- 33:50wasn't. He'd come out in the community
- 33:53to protest. He didn't go out in the
- 33:55community to hang out and be out on the streets.
- 33:57You know what I mean? On his own, he wasn't.
- 34:00That wasn't Taran. OK, I just.
- 34:02Didn't know if you know, you know, people are weird.
- 34:10OK, let's see. So we're just going to she was
- 34:16saying some weird things about you in specifically, if I can
- 34:21find where I see it, she was talking about how and she
- 34:27actually even said something to the effect that Taron had been
- 34:31in a mental health place or something like that.
- 34:35Yes, so apparently when they first met she she says that he
- 34:42went to the doctor for mental health issues, a mental health
- 34:48crisis. OK.
- 34:50And I believe it is in there for September.
- 34:53But then I find out that she pretty much meets him in a whole
- 35:01different county, like hours away and it's supposed to be for
- 35:08mental health issues. And then he's once he's
- 35:12discharged, which is the same day because they didn't like,
- 35:16you know, keep him or anything. Then he supposedly goes back to
- 35:21her house. So I'm just, it just sounds
- 35:25really. So they met at at a.
- 35:30No, I, no, no, no. Shortly after they met is when
- 35:35supposedly then then all of a sudden he had to go for a mental
- 35:39health crisis. Oh, OK.
- 35:41Because the way I read it and the way I took it was, is that
- 35:44she had said that before they had even met, he had already
- 35:49been in a mental health crisis. And OK, so and she also said
- 35:54something to the effect that you and Taron were having a lot of
- 35:58issues and that you had left Taron to be with your husband
- 36:03and that your husband had stabbed him or something like
- 36:05that. What is that about?
- 36:07So what that is about is, first of all, I'm not married, OK?
- 36:14I was seeing somebody at the time and when Taron came to home
- 36:21Potsdam, him and my boyfriend had an issue.
- 36:26And at that time I told Taron you need to leave, OK?
- 36:32He came back with my my daughter, which she wasn't
- 36:37supposed to be there either. The rule was if I'm not here,
- 36:41then you can't come here. And when I'm here, you can come
- 36:44here, OK? Because I didn't want any
- 36:46problems, you know. So when I'm out at Trayanna
- 36:51Somerville's memorial, who was a black woman that was killed in
- 36:55Governor, New York, my daughter and my son show up at my house.
- 37:02My boyfriend at the time was watching my son, my youngest son
- 37:07and my grandchildren. So Taron, I, they had a plan.
- 37:15My daughter and my son had a plan.
- 37:17And my daughter's plan was to get her kids.
- 37:20OK, so Taran distracts my boyfriend while my daughter's
- 37:26trying to get the kids. Now both Taran ended up getting
- 37:31stabbed. OK, I kick my boyfriend out.
- 37:35Oh wow. Taran.
- 37:36Says he didn't mean to stab me. Mom, he didn't go like this and
- 37:40try to stab me. I jumped at him and he went like
- 37:42this and that's how he caught me.
- 37:44OK, so. And he was upset with me because
- 37:48I kicked it, kicked him to the curb.
- 37:50Like, I don't care. You know, my opinion.
- 37:53You shouldn't have a freaking knife.
- 37:54Be a man and fight it out, you know?
- 37:56And so that was the end of that, you know?
- 38:00But that's what happened there, OK?
- 38:04OK. So that makes more sense because
- 38:06I was just like, that's just like out of left field, right?
- 38:10And then, and then her son, on his statement, said Taron
- 38:15stabbed himself. On his statement.
- 38:18That he gave to John Jones. OK.
- 38:21I must have missed that one. So there was a.
- 38:24Post that Taron had made, somebody forwarded it to me
- 38:27where right after the situation, it couldn't have been long.
- 38:32It was kind of healed up. So Taron made a post and he said
- 38:36something like, you know, some people are are robbed of life,
- 38:41but it didn't happen to me. You know, God wanted I'm a
- 38:46keeper for God or something like that, you know?
- 38:48And so I'm just like, OK, you know, that's those words are not
- 38:53words of somebody who is like, I want to kill myself, you know
- 38:57what I'm saying? So yeah, that that, that whole
- 39:03thing, they twisted the way it happened, you know, and, and
- 39:08stuff like that, OK. So she also talked about how he
- 39:12was isolated and that he it was basically like she was
- 39:19administering his medicine or something like that.
- 39:22It it almost feels like that. It's, you know, I met someone at
- 39:28the very first protest after Taran's death.
- 39:32And this young lady, she literally was in the back of the
- 39:34crowd. She came up to the front crying,
- 39:37saying I'm so you know, I'm sorry.
- 39:42What happened to your son? My father almost didn't make it
- 39:46out. Pretty much that.
- 39:47Crystal brainwashed him, filled him with drugs, all kinds of
- 39:52different drugs and almost killed him.
- 39:57OK. You know, and she is, and I've
- 40:00heard so many stories and it's sad because.
- 40:04People who have known her all her life and told me stories
- 40:08were crying while they were telling me their experiences
- 40:11with her. You know, she's very
- 40:13manipulating, very controlling, you know, very dangerous, you
- 40:19know, So I can't, I, I can't even imagine, you know, what was
- 40:24said or I, I just can't even imagine.
- 40:28No, yeah. I mean, it just seems like a so
- 40:34when I was talking about it seemed like she was
- 40:36administering his, his medicine. It's almost like.
- 40:42From. Everything that I I saw, it
- 40:45seemed like she was like in control of his entire life.
- 40:49That's what it seems like and did.
- 40:51She own his phone as well, she claimed.
- 40:54She bought it for him. She claimed that everything he
- 40:57he owned that he had, she bought for him.
- 41:01OK, which is not true because I went shopping with Tyrone, you
- 41:06know, his phone, for instance, they being the police nor the
- 41:15sheriff's to They didn't take his phone.
- 41:18They didn't take her phone. They didn't take Brian's phone.
- 41:20They didn't even look at the phones.
- 41:24Nothing. When I requested, excuse me,
- 41:27Tyrone's belongings. The.
- 41:31Sheriff's I requested it, she denied it.
- 41:33The sheriff's went requested it and she no, I'm not giving
- 41:37anything. And they were just like, OK.
- 41:40Yeah, I've seen a lot it did. Seem that.
- 41:45And that's exactly the words people said.
- 41:46She's very, very controlling, Yeah.
- 41:49That's just, that was something that I, I feel like since he
- 41:53was, what, 26 and she was in her 40s, you know, it was more like
- 41:58a mothering type situation or something like that, or a
- 42:04manipulation, Yeah. Manipulated.
- 42:07You know, I feel like it's the only reason she got with him in
- 42:10the 1st place is because the police stared her that way.
- 42:13The police said this is what we're going to do, OK?
- 42:16And and why? Why do?
- 42:18You think that? I mean, is there anything that
- 42:21makes you say that? Is there anything?
- 42:25First of all, the fact that, excuse me, the fact that Garrett
- 42:29Phillips case is still being covered up by the very people
- 42:33that I was calling out. Yeah, they retaliated against
- 42:37me, you know, for the simple fact that I'm a black woman.
- 42:43He's a black man, you know, mostly white community calling
- 42:47out the racists in that community.
- 42:50Yeah, it's a hate crime, you know, Crystal.
- 42:56So I don't know if you saw the post on September 16th, I think
- 43:00it was, where she made a post on Facebook that said something
- 43:03like, even if I didn't do it, they say I did.
- 43:06I probably did, though. Yeah.
- 43:07Oh. My.
- 43:09God so. The day before that post, a guy
- 43:13named Jerry Andrews Junior made a Facebook post and he said
- 43:18something like if you think Potsdam is a racist place then
- 43:21you shouldn't be here and blah blah blah blah blah.
- 43:23OK, now, if Tehran's murder was not because of racism, partly
- 43:30because of racism, then why did Crystal throw a private memorial
- 43:35at her home that she invited none of his friends, friends or
- 43:38family to? But she invited Jerry Andrews
- 43:42Junior, the very person who had a problem with me and Tehran
- 43:45protesting against racism in Potsdam.
- 43:49And on the memorial stand in her home was a poop emoji with big
- 43:55red lips and a gorilla. Oh my.
- 43:59Oh wow. OK.
- 44:00I think I remember seeing something about that.
- 44:05Yeah, sorry. I I've, when we first got when
- 44:10we first got in touch with each other, I had really looked at
- 44:13the case and then things have happened since then.
- 44:16So I'm kind of refreshing myself it's.
- 44:19A lie. It's so much wow, I.
- 44:21I hate to hear that. I really hate to hear that.
- 44:25So it's. Retaliation and racism, OK.
- 44:29So let's see on it says. What happened in the late night
- 44:37hours remains unclear, but official records later revealed
- 44:41A shockingly premature interview file timestamp.
- 44:47Can you talk about that? The timestamp of so he he passed
- 44:52away, but the timestamp is actually 8 hours before he
- 44:55passed away. Yes.
- 44:58So after Taran's death, I I knew something was wrong.
- 45:06I put foil request in. The first thing I got was a body
- 45:12Cam video from the scene from one of the two police officers
- 45:18that arrived first on scene. They were there almost an hour
- 45:22and that body Cam video was redacted down to two minutes and
- 45:2536 seconds. Oh.
- 45:27Wow, yeah. So I kept putting in FOIL
- 45:33requests to get the rest of the stuff from the sheriff's, and
- 45:38they kept denying me things. Just kept denying.
- 45:41Kept denying. So it.
- 45:43Wasn't until March. 20. 23 was it 23 I think or 24?
- 45:52Jeez, it was quite a while after they finally agreed to hand
- 45:57stuff over to me, but they didn't hand it to me.
- 46:01I had to go sit down with the County Attorney for him to give
- 46:06it to me. And one of the things that he
- 46:10gave me was AUSB. And on that was 2 sound only
- 46:14interviews and a bunch of photos from all all this from the
- 46:19sheriff's. So it, it took me after I got
- 46:23back to Syracuse, it took me almost a month to be honest with
- 46:27you before I was like, OK, I'm ready to hear this, you know,
- 46:32see whatever. So I go to the library, I put
- 46:35the USB in there and that's when I realized, OK, this is just
- 46:40sound only interview, like what you know, So I listen to it and
- 46:47I click out of it and I'm sitting back just absorbing what
- 46:49I just listened to. And I look at the screen and
- 46:52that that sound only interview was in a file dated January
- 46:567/20/21, 10:41 PM. And that's like 8 hours before
- 47:02the 911 call even went in. So there's no reason for the
- 47:08Saint Lawrence County Sheriff's to have a file opened on a
- 47:11person that they never had contact with in their life, in
- 47:15that person's life. Yeah, very suspicious, yeah.
- 47:21Definitely. And I could see if I mean, I
- 47:25still couldn't see it, you know, but I should have received
- 47:29something in that file dated January 7th, 2021.
- 47:33I didn't. All I received was the sound
- 47:35only interview dated January, verbally dated by Saint Lawrence
- 47:39County Sheriff Mccarger as January 8th, 2021.
- 47:44But the. Metadata says otherwise, right?
- 47:47OK. And no one's been able to ever
- 47:49give you? Nope, the sheriff won't talk to
- 47:53me at all. And when the Saint Lawrence
- 47:56County attorney did answer my call, no my e-mail, he said that
- 48:04they told him they've never that they had no contact with him and
- 48:10that was it. Like they couldn't give me any a
- 48:12reason as to why they would have a file open on my son.
- 48:17Pride was death. Yeah, and metadata.
- 48:20Metadata doesn't lie as far as I know.
- 48:23So yeah, it's very suspicious. OK so it's on January the 8th
- 48:302021 at 649 AM 911 call is placed from Crystals residence
- 48:36reporting that Taron is unresponsive and unconscious
- 48:40according to the dispatcher logs as later summarized by you.
- 48:46Within minutes Crystal was heard screaming he is dead and
- 48:50mentioned finding pill bottles near him.
- 48:53She claimed Taron must have overdosed on Wellbutrin and
- 48:56antidepressant by taking the an entire prescription.
- 48:59Crystal said she awoke to find Taron looking weird or not
- 49:02breathing and that two Bill 2 pill bottles were empty beside
- 49:06him. But I also remember her saying
- 49:08something about a makeup bag as well.
- 49:12Yeah, so she kind of, she gave different stories, you know, And
- 49:18so the one with the makeup bag, she said that she had got up,
- 49:23went in the kitchen to make coffee, returned to the bedroom
- 49:27to get her makeup bag to go to the bathroom and get ready.
- 49:32But as she went back in to get her makeup bag, that's when she
- 49:35realized something was wrong with Taron.
- 49:38But if you look at the the body Cam, most people don't haven't
- 49:45looked at things like I've looked at things, you know, over
- 49:49the past four years. But you can see when the when
- 49:53Lavoie walks in and goes past the bathroom, you can see the
- 49:57makeup bag in the bathroom on the counter.
- 50:00Oh, wow. You know, so it's like, come on,
- 50:04you know? Yeah, so.
- 50:08And then the thing too about the pills.
- 50:10OK, SO1 bottle was supposed to be hers, and 1 bottle was
- 50:13supposed to be his. Now, a doctor that she knew
- 50:17apparently is the same doctor that prescribed her Anteron's
- 50:22medication on the. Same day, right?
- 50:25I think it. Was in less than a week of each
- 50:27other, Yeah. So yeah.
- 50:31And then, I don't know if it's normal procedure or not, but
- 50:35this doctor had met Taron one time to establish care.
- 50:40He prescribed him that medication and then he was with
- 50:44the coroner the day Taron died. He was attending physician.
- 50:48Really. Yeah.
- 50:50Oh, that doesn't. Sound good?
- 50:55Yeah, that's, that's not cool. OK, so at by 6:56 AM, two POTS
- 51:02Potsdam Village police officers Jared Lavoie and Officer Dakota
- 51:06Stevenson arrive at the scene. Crystal's home and Taron was
- 51:12found lying in bed on his back and diagonally across the bed.
- 51:16His eyes and mouth were reportedly open and his body was
- 51:19still warm to the touch. Crystal was on the bed
- 51:22attempting chest compressions, though observers noted that she
- 51:25was 2 feet away and performing CPR effectively through a
- 51:29blanket and a pillow on top of Taron.
- 51:32Correct. She claims she was given chest
- 51:35compressions but it doesn't look like she was at all.
- 51:38His body definitely looks like it was moved to the bed.
- 51:43She wasn't on the bed, she was on the side of the bed leaning
- 51:48over. But in between her and Taron was
- 51:51a pillow. I believe that's what she took
- 51:55to Ron's life. She took him out with that
- 51:58pillow. You know, I, I, I think whatever
- 52:00they did to him the night before didn't go as they planned.
- 52:04And she finished the job the morning of January 8th, 2021.
- 52:10OK. So now they they did try to do
- 52:13CPR and, well, the yeah, Officer Lavoie did not remove Tyron off
- 52:21of the bed to a hard surface. It shows that he didn't really
- 52:26check for a pulse. He lifted up Tyron's arms by the
- 52:29sleeve and then dropped and then began performing chest
- 52:35compressions on the mattress. But he didn't do any breath
- 52:37compressions, correct? Or.
- 52:40Breath. And then he also.
- 52:42There was a flashlight underneath his hand on top of
- 52:45Tyron's chest. Yeah.
- 52:46It, it looks like it's either the phone or the flashlight.
- 52:50It's a light, some sort of light that it's either from a phone or
- 52:54flashlight that he had in his hand.
- 52:56But you can tell like when he's doing 'cause it's kind of
- 52:59shining on his face. So OK.
- 53:02Now I remember seeing some of those, some of that footage, Is
- 53:08that on? It's in my link tree.
- 53:11OK, it is. On your link tree.
- 53:13OK, for some reason I must have missed that one thing.
- 53:18Yeah. It it says Gerald Lavoie's body
- 53:21Cam OK. Maybe I did see it in OK, never
- 53:25mind, That's OK. But out of five, that's OK.
- 53:29But out of five responding officers, that's the only body
- 53:33Cam video I got from the scene. Everybody else says they didn't
- 53:36have body Cam, OK. Now they also gave him Narcan.
- 53:41They gave him, yeah, like 5 doses of Narcan plus an EpiPen
- 53:47of some sort or epinephrine, yeah.
- 53:50I think it's epinephrine, yeah, an.
- 53:52EpiPen basically so and from from what I read it sounds like
- 53:58Taron wasn't did he? Was he actually dead when he got
- 54:04to the hospital? So when I finally got a response
- 54:11from the doctors, the team, the people that were in there, they
- 54:16said yes, he was dead. When he got.
- 54:18There. So I said, OK, so then why?
- 54:25Why do you put that? He died at the hospital time of
- 54:28death 755. And they said, well, they said,
- 54:32well, because he was so young, we do everything we can, even
- 54:36though we know he was pretty much gone there.
- 54:39We're going to do, we have to do whatever we can do to save us,
- 54:42you know, try to bring him back, you know, this and that.
- 54:44So I'm like, all right, thank, thanks for trying, you know, but
- 54:51I don't believe that they've really, really, really tried,
- 54:55you know, And then it's like Crystal was there, but there was
- 55:00really no crystal claims. There was no conversation, you
- 55:04know, and on the nurses note, it says that I don't know that was
- 55:11in there. That's in the link tree too.
- 55:14But there's one paper that has just stuff written on it.
- 55:17You can tell us the nurse or somebody just writing things
- 55:19down and I can't remember the name of it at this moment, but
- 55:24there was a pill that was found there.
- 55:27There was. Yeah.
- 55:29It doesn't say where. If it was found on Tehran, it
- 55:31was found on the floor. If it was found on the bed it it
- 55:35was a pill and it wasn't no Wellbutrin and it was.
- 55:42Never identified it's. It's on that paper.
- 55:45I can't think of what it's called, but it's on there.
- 55:47I'll look. In Yeah.
- 55:49And that's that's in there too, OK.
- 55:52So, but I was concerned or I was confused I guess, because it
- 55:55says that he arrived at Canton Potsdam Hospital at 7:37 AM with
- 56:01a faint pulse restored oxygen saturation in the low 90s.
- 56:06See they? Exactly.
- 56:08It like when, like I said, when I talked to that team, the
- 56:12people who actually were caring for him, he was gone and they
- 56:16let me know he was gone. So I don't get where they get
- 56:19all that. And even with the EMTs, it's at
- 56:22one point says that. Oh my gosh.
- 56:27See, I shouldn't have the paperwork in front of me, but it
- 56:29says that pretty much he was unconscious, he was not alert,
- 56:33he was this and that, and then it says he was alert.
- 56:36Yeah. And there was.
- 56:37No point. From the time that the police
- 56:41got there to the time that he got to the hospital and they
- 56:44called his Tod, there was not a point at all that he was alert
- 56:47or conscious. Yeah, this whole, I mean, the
- 56:51whole reporting of it is just so muddled and confusing and
- 56:57obviously for reasons I'm sure. So let's see.
- 57:07So instead of treating Crystal's home as a potential crime scene,
- 57:10officers seem to accept the overdose narrative.
- 57:13One of the two pill bottles was taken to Potsdam PD at the house
- 57:21or from the house at around 7:50.
- 57:23However, Crystal herself retained at least one bottle,
- 57:28only handing it over later. At about 8:10 AM, Crystal
- 57:32arrived at the hospital and gave an empty bottle of Wellbutrin to
- 57:35the sheriff's deputy. Then, around 8:30 AM, she went
- 57:38to the Potsdam police station and turned into Ron's own
- 57:41bottle. Also reported an empty so they
- 57:46didn't do any collection at the scene.
- 57:48No evidence collection at all, No.
- 57:51No, all they did was take the sheriffs took pictures.
- 57:55OK, so when my father committed suicide, as I told you earlier,
- 58:01my husband took myself and my children out of the home before
- 58:07we actually found out what happened.
- 58:09He, my son, my, my 4 year old son found my dad and, but and it
- 58:16was a gunshot. So it was bad.
- 58:19But the police were so intrigued that my husband took us out of
- 58:25the home that they immediately, they picked us up from Denny's,
- 58:29my my children and I and took us to the police station and
- 58:33interrogated us. And, you know, and they, and
- 58:38they actually made my husband stay in the county for until
- 58:42later on that night when we had already left because they wanted
- 58:46to sure up that, you know, he didn't do anything to my dad.
- 58:50So and then we were immediately given the autopsy reports, the
- 58:56photos, everything. I didn't even ask for them.
- 58:59I didn't request them or anything.
- 59:00We were just giving them and so I hate the fact that.
- 59:08That when? Suicide or supposed suicides or
- 59:11suspected suicides happen that they don't collect evidence,
- 59:15they don't do all these things because people are going to
- 59:21wonder and they're always going to have that hole inside them
- 59:27not knowing. And if we could be proactive
- 59:31and, and help people out, it would be so much better.
- 59:35And I'm just so sorry that they didn't do that for you.
- 59:38Thank you. They it's yeah, they definitely
- 59:41did not secure the scene because you can tell that things have
- 59:47been moved from the time that the police were came and the
- 59:51time that the sheriff's came. For instance, there's a shelf
- 59:56above her vanity and there's AQ tip box up there.
- 1:00:02When the police are there, it's straight.
- 1:00:06When the sheriff's in the photo, it's hanging halfway off the
- 1:00:11shelf and the body Cam video. The little.
- 1:00:17Stand next to the bed. There's nothing in front of the
- 1:00:20bed. But in the sheriff's photos now,
- 1:00:23Taron's slippers are in front of the bed.
- 1:00:25The laptop is in front of the bed, you know, So yeah, they,
- 1:00:31they didn't. In fact, like I said, they they
- 1:00:34planned it, Yeah. And.
- 1:00:35They they killed my son and are doing everything they have to do
- 1:00:41to keep it covered up. Yeah, and I'm not even sure.
- 1:00:44I mean, we could go through all of these points because I don't
- 1:00:48want to take you through all of them.
- 1:00:50But basically I just, you know, I believe you.
- 1:00:54I believe that Tehran was not suicidal and and I believe that
- 1:00:58there is a cover up going on, but I don't know what we can do
- 1:01:03to help you other than making a lot of noise.
- 1:01:06And that's what I'm going to try to do.
- 1:01:09And I have like I told you in the e-mail, I have a friend
- 1:01:14who's a coroner here and I have forwarded everything I have from
- 1:01:19the link tree. But if you have extra stuff that
- 1:01:22you want to e-mail me that I can send him just to look at it and
- 1:01:27make his own assessment, I can't promise anything, but I can.
- 1:01:31He has said that he would be willing to look at cases that I
- 1:01:36am curious about and that he will give his honest assessment.
- 1:01:40And he has a medical examiner or not a medical examiner, but he
- 1:01:43has a medical doctor that works with him in order to, you know,
- 1:01:48satisfy all of the requirements and everything.
- 1:01:51So yeah, I, I want, I want at least somebody to look at it and
- 1:01:58give another opinion, even if it's the same opinion, you know,
- 1:02:02just their just their opinion, honest opinion about the whole
- 1:02:04situation, right? Thank you.
- 1:02:09Yeah, I what else can we do? I mean, I know this all has to
- 1:02:14do, you know, with police corruption basically at the end
- 1:02:18of the day, because it started with Garrett Phillips and Nick
- 1:02:22Hillary and extended to you and your family because of your
- 1:02:26passion to see justice and to see reform.
- 1:02:33And So what can we do to help you?
- 1:02:38So this here, you know, give me the opportunity to be on here
- 1:02:42and share to Ron's story, sharing the link tree, because
- 1:02:49that's where the information is AT.
- 1:02:51And that gives everybody that looks at it the opportunity to
- 1:02:55come up with what they think, what they believe, you know, and
- 1:03:00what's obvious, you know, noise, like you said, making noise is
- 1:03:06the biggest thing we can do. And and that's whether it's
- 1:03:09emailing, calling, literally writing, you know, showing up at
- 1:03:16protests, those are the things that that we can do.
- 1:03:21You know, physical presence is very, very important at these
- 1:03:27protests, in March marches because.
- 1:03:32The. Community does not show up up
- 1:03:35there. There may be about 5 people, if
- 1:03:39that and these police are laughing at us.
- 1:03:43The. Sheriff who investigated Taran's
- 1:03:47death. When I was protesting outside
- 1:03:50the Saint Lawrence County District Attorney's Office, he
- 1:03:52approached us, and when I confronted him about Taran's
- 1:03:56death, he said he wasn't aware of the case.
- 1:03:59Oh wow. You know, so like, they really
- 1:04:03are. First of all, I'm a black woman.
- 1:04:06They stole my black son, and they don't want to hear my
- 1:04:08voice. So it's important that white
- 1:04:12people especially show up, you know, speak up, make those
- 1:04:16calls, those emails, write those letters, you know, and to
- 1:04:21continuously share to Ron's story on all platforms, you
- 1:04:26know, even writing the new, the news outlets up throughout New
- 1:04:30York State. You know, that's something I've
- 1:04:33been doing too, is not only just emailing and and calling and
- 1:04:38writing the news stations just in general, but every person
- 1:04:45that I can think of or ever see on any platform that is ever
- 1:04:48reported on. Garrett Phillips Case.
- 1:04:51I. Contact them and let them know
- 1:04:53about Taron and how it connects to Garrett Phillips.
- 1:04:57You. Know so that because it does all
- 1:05:00connect. Have you reached?
- 1:05:01Out to Ken Mains, he did a video on Garrett Phillips.
- 1:05:05I don't think I've heard that name, is he on YouTube?
- 1:05:09Yeah, Ken. Mains from Unsolved no more.
- 1:05:11He's a call, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:05:14I've heard that one, yeah. He's, he's actually, he did a
- 1:05:18video for me on a cold case from my hometown, a girl that passed
- 1:05:24away. So, so he's a, he's a good
- 1:05:27resource. Just reach out to him.
- 1:05:29You know, it's just. E-mail me his name and stuff,
- 1:05:32yeah. Yeah, I definitely will.
- 1:05:34So is there anything that you want to communicate to us other
- 1:05:38than, you know, getting out there and doing things?
- 1:05:40Is there anything you want to kind of tie up and tell us about
- 1:05:44this whole thing? Well, Taron.
- 1:05:48Evans, Junior, Garrett, Phillips, Nick Hillary All
- 1:05:53deserve justice. The system.
- 1:05:57Has to change. It's not broken.
- 1:06:01It is doing exactly what it was created to do.
- 1:06:04Target murder, incarcerate, brutalize black and brown
- 1:06:10people, a message to white people.
- 1:06:16Stand up and speak up. Stop letting your Co workers,
- 1:06:22your family members, you know, your neighbors, etcetera.
- 1:06:28Continue this behavior and and you stand.
- 1:06:31I feel like this. I feel like if, if, if you stand
- 1:06:34by and you allow a racist to be a racist, you're just as bad as
- 1:06:38a cop that's killing people and you're just a bystander.
- 1:06:43The the other cops are just bystanders.
- 1:06:45It's it's all just as bad. So to speak up against the wrong
- 1:06:51is necessary and to I understand people's fear.
- 1:06:59But fear. Is what these type of people
- 1:07:03feed on. How?
- 1:07:04They keep you silent and. It it's.
- 1:07:06It's allowing. Them to do more and more and
- 1:07:08more and more every day. It's getting worse, you know,
- 1:07:13and we cannot sit back and just allow it to happen, family
- 1:07:17members or not, you know. So I guess the most important
- 1:07:22thing is speak up, speak up against it.
- 1:07:25Don't say I'm not a racist, I hate racism, but you don't say
- 1:07:29anything to stop it from those who you're around you.
- 1:07:35Know. On a daily basis.
- 1:07:36So speaking up is very, very, very important.
- 1:07:41You know, speaking up is very, very important.
- 1:07:47And protecting black lives, you know, that was another thing,
- 1:07:51you know. There was just.
- 1:07:54So many people that was like, we'll do anything to help you,
- 1:07:57anything to protect black lives. But then when my son was
- 1:08:01murdered, everybody was gone. I'm like y'all out here
- 1:08:05protesting for people who were murdered that don't even live in
- 1:08:09this state. But when?
- 1:08:11People right here in this community are murdered.
- 1:08:15They they're silent because they're afraid.
- 1:08:18You. Know that that fear is what's
- 1:08:21allowing them to continue their racist behaviors and misconduct
- 1:08:25and corruption. Yeah, I totally agree.
- 1:08:28I totally agree. It is.
- 1:08:31It's a sad situation. And like I told you before,
- 1:08:35growing up in a military town, I I didn't experience all of that.
- 1:08:40And so only now as an adult have I ever even really seen racism
- 1:08:47because I know I'm white and I'm not saying racism towards me or
- 1:08:51anything like that. I'm just in general racism at
- 1:08:53all. You know, it wasn't around me.
- 1:08:56So as an adult now seeing it, it's just, it flabbergasts me
- 1:09:00and it just confuses the heck out of me.
- 1:09:02And I just I'm sorry that that your son was the victim of that
- 1:09:09so and there. And there's so many more,
- 1:09:13there's so many more and it's got to stop.
- 1:09:16You know, I don't want this to, I really don't want this to turn
- 1:09:20ugly for everybody, you know, like, 'cause that's what it's
- 1:09:24leading to. Like we're tired, you know, we
- 1:09:28are really tired. And people are really going to
- 1:09:30start feeling what their ancestors and their parents
- 1:09:36cause a lot of them are still here, you know, have done and
- 1:09:40continue to do and, and, and their children and their
- 1:09:43grandchildren and so on and so forth are going to be the ones
- 1:09:47to pay the price. You know, it would be nice if we
- 1:09:51could do this peacefully. Yeah.
- 1:09:54It would be great and if we could actually remember that
- 1:09:57we're all human beings and that we all deserve a little love,
- 1:10:02grace, and just humanity, right? You know.
- 1:10:08Just. Live, you know, peacefully.
- 1:10:10Like. But we're.
- 1:10:15Going to be all right we're. Not We're not going.
- 1:10:18To be silent, you know, until my last breath.
- 1:10:23I will speak up for my son and for others, you know, it's it's,
- 1:10:29it's about truth, accountability and justice.
- 1:10:32I I don't want, you know, to sue.
- 1:10:35I don't want money. I want yeah.
- 1:10:39And. Answers.
- 1:10:42Yeah, that's. Another that's that's the other
- 1:10:45problem is people. And I'm not saying anything bad
- 1:10:50about anybody who's lost a loved one to police, you know, or
- 1:10:56corrections officers. But when when they're just
- 1:11:01accepting the money, these people are just continuing to do
- 1:11:06what they do. You.
- 1:11:08Know it, it's it has to be where they are held accountable, they
- 1:11:12go away. Yeah, there's a situation.
- 1:11:15I went to a Prison Reform lobby day here at the Capitol in
- 1:11:19Missouri, and I I encountered a woman who was incarcerated at a
- 1:11:27women's prison here and she was raped by a corrections officer
- 1:11:32and a counselor. And they ended up just basically
- 1:11:40shoving him off and paying his pension and not holding him
- 1:11:45accountable. And then the state of Missouri
- 1:11:48paid her $20 million to keep quiet, basically, and didn't
- 1:11:53even put it on the books. They had to, like, rearrange the
- 1:11:56books and everything so that the taxpayers wouldn't realize what
- 1:11:58was going on. So yeah, I mean, it happens in
- 1:12:03all corners. And it's just terrible that the
- 1:12:07people who are supposed to be here to protect and to serve and
- 1:12:11to keep order and justice are some of the people who are
- 1:12:16creating a terrible world. And every every one of them were
- 1:12:21as truth, justice, order and. What was the?
- 1:12:25Other one you said order, truth, justice, order and control.
- 1:12:30I don't. Remember.
- 1:12:32To protect and serve truth and justice.
- 1:12:36That's all for them. That was never meant for any of
- 1:12:39us. That's all meant for those who
- 1:12:41said those words. Yeah.
- 1:12:45No, I agree. My cousin is incarcerated for 25
- 1:12:48years in Chillicothe for 5 ounces of methamphetamine and
- 1:12:53she's got the highest drug sentence for a woman because
- 1:12:58she's Hispanic and they decided to say she was part of the
- 1:13:05cartel and yeah, it was. It's pretty bad.
- 1:13:08So she's serving 25 years? Well.
- 1:13:13Hopefully, you know, somebody can look into that.
- 1:13:16You know, there there's a lot of people that no way more than me
- 1:13:20as far as when it comes to jail reform and things like that, you
- 1:13:24know, but there are really people who really, really can
- 1:13:28help, you know? Yeah.
- 1:13:30Yeah, and, and I, I just keep plotting on and telling her
- 1:13:35story and just like you, you know, telling Taron's story and
- 1:13:39eventually somebody's going to hear it and eventually
- 1:13:41somebody's going to care. And I know there have been some
- 1:13:45people who have cared, you know, about Taron and his story.
- 1:13:48But we need, we need some bigger voices out here.
- 1:13:53And so hopefully, hopefully you can get something resolved I
- 1:13:58wanted. To say to that, you know.
- 1:14:03It was. Pretty messed up how the
- 1:14:04sheriff's didn't have body Cam video from the scene, but they
- 1:14:09had body Cam video from when they came to give me the death
- 1:14:11notice and talk to me about what they call the interview.
- 1:14:16If it was an interview they would have had my real name, not
- 1:14:19my Facebook name and they would have spoke to me.
- 1:14:25They would ask me questions about my son, not only inquire
- 1:14:28about where was I going to do the autopsy.
- 1:14:31And and I don't know if you heard in that first sound only
- 1:14:36interview where Crystal asks are they going to do an autopsy?
- 1:14:43Like, yeah. And how would that?
- 1:14:44Matter. Just the fact that she was so
- 1:14:47controlling and so. Manipulating, yeah.
- 1:14:52Manipulating. I've seen women like her and it
- 1:14:57doesn't end well. Crazy.
- 1:15:02OK. So that was my interview with
- 1:15:06Jennifer and Taron's mom. And So what do you think, Laura?
- 1:15:11I think a. Lot of things.
- 1:15:12First of all, my heart goes out to Jennifer.
- 1:15:17I'm glad I was in small screen because there was a couple times
- 1:15:19so I kind of started tearing up a little bit.
- 1:15:22No, it's really powerful hearing you tell your son's story and
- 1:15:29God, sorry, I just, I'm, I'm only just hearing about all this
- 1:15:32stuff. I've looked into it a little
- 1:15:34bit, but just hearing it coming from your mouth, your own words,
- 1:15:39it's just very powerful. Sorry my puppy is all around
- 1:15:43right now, but we need to. We need to see.
- 1:15:48Justice, we need to, if anybody's watching this, please,
- 1:15:51if you don't want to share this video, share this video and
- 1:15:59share the link tree and just try and get the story out there.
- 1:16:05Yeah, right now is the time to stand up for what is right to go
- 1:16:10to protests. I try to go to protests any time
- 1:16:13that I can. I've been going to a lot of
- 1:16:14them. I even left work, went on lunch
- 1:16:17and went on a protest a few weeks ago.
- 1:16:20We need to just get out there and actually make your voice
- 1:16:22heard. Make sure people don't forget
- 1:16:25and that people like Taron don't die in vain.
- 1:16:31It does not sound like a suicide to me.
- 1:16:34And it's something that absolutely needs to be
- 1:16:36investigated. And we're in a time right now
- 1:16:41when racism is running so prevalent and it just, it
- 1:16:44absolutely breaks my heart. And she's absolutely correct.
- 1:16:47Jennifer's absolutely correct. You can't just stay silent and
- 1:16:49watch it go by. You have to say something if you
- 1:16:52see something, you always have to say something.
- 1:16:54So I'm sorry, I'm kind of collecting my thoughts.
- 1:16:56That's a bunch of jumbled up mess.
- 1:16:57But I did have an idea sort of. So we're going to be going to
- 1:17:04crime con in a few months and right before we start the show,
- 1:17:08we are just talking about different things we could do,
- 1:17:12whether it be like set wise in our booth or just, you know,
- 1:17:16things. What if we or to make, I don't
- 1:17:20know if it would be better if it were Flyers or business cards or
- 1:17:24something. We can make a few different ones
- 1:17:27and find certain cases like Terron's and maybe have a little
- 1:17:33QR code that they can scan that might take people to the link
- 1:17:38tree, Jennifer's link tree. And you know, same thing for
- 1:17:41other cases and stuff like that. Maybe like brief little
- 1:17:43description so that we can just hand them out and try and get
- 1:17:46them to as many people as you possibly can.
- 1:17:49Because crime con. I mean, it's not the the tickets
- 1:17:53aren't cheap people that are There are people that genuinely
- 1:17:56care, people who genuinely want to spread the word for things.
- 1:18:00So I think that's something that we might have to do.
- 1:18:03We're going. To the one in Denver, Lisa are
- 1:18:06there? Multiple ones, she said.
- 1:18:09They do a couple I know they do. One in the UKI didn't know there
- 1:18:11are multiple in the US, but yeah, we'll be there in Denver
- 1:18:15in September. But yeah, I was just thinking, I
- 1:18:18think that's something we should we should definitely do.
- 1:18:20We should make some business cards or Flyers or posters or
- 1:18:23something like that and just try and get his story out there
- 1:18:27because like I said, those are people that care that that want
- 1:18:31to help. So.
- 1:18:34And. Lord knows who you're going to
- 1:18:35run into there, you know what I mean?
- 1:18:36So we're, we're going to definitely do everything that we
- 1:18:38possibly can to try and keep his story alive.
- 1:18:41And much credit to you for not giving up and not letting
- 1:18:44anybody bully you into submission.
- 1:18:46Yeah. And in the interest of Full
- 1:18:49disclosure, let me take this off here.
- 1:18:53Because this is military broadcast radio and we serve
- 1:18:57veterans and 1st responders. I asked my husband for some
- 1:19:05guidance because I felt like I needed to reach out to Nick
- 1:19:10Hillary, who was he's a veteran. And then I also felt like I
- 1:19:15needed to reach out to John Jones, Detective John Jones or
- 1:19:20sheriff's Deputy John Jones. So I did send emails to both of
- 1:19:24them. I have not heard any response.
- 1:19:27But to be fair, I only sent them out today because I struggled
- 1:19:31with whether I was going to do that or not.
- 1:19:35But he said that it it was a a wise choice to just get
- 1:19:41everybody's story if they if they want to tell it to us.
- 1:19:47And hopefully, at least Nick would like to come on here to
- 1:19:52advocate for Garrett and to tell his story about, you know, his
- 1:19:58experience and how his case involves Taron.
- 1:20:04If if he thinks it, it does or not.
- 1:20:07So I don't know. We'll see.
- 1:20:10Also I don't. Know if you put it on or not.
- 1:20:12Oh, sorry, I'm not trying to reach into your lap, but I just
- 1:20:14saw that to anybody who might be watching, you might have already
- 1:20:18put it, but I just want to say it just anyone who might be
- 1:20:20listening rather than actually looking at the screen.
- 1:20:23But Jennifer Tron's mom posted in the chat saying that she will
- 1:20:28be protesting at the Potsdam Police Department on June 1st,
- 1:20:312025 at 1:00 PM. Protest March and candlelight
- 1:20:35vigil. So anybody that is listening,
- 1:20:37that is watching, that is able to attend or get the word out
- 1:20:41for that. It is so important that we
- 1:20:43actually show up and show out for people now more than ever.
- 1:20:48I don't need to get into that, but.
- 1:20:50Yeah. Now we.
- 1:20:53It matters so. So there were a couple of points
- 1:20:57I wanted to just kind of go over.
- 1:20:59So Taron's condition when he arrived at the hospital, so his
- 1:21:04time of arrival at the ER was 7:37 AM and his status, he had a
- 1:21:13faint pulse, was restored and oxygen saturation was in the low
- 1:21:1790s. His temperature was 97°F normal
- 1:21:22to slightly low, indicating the body had not cooled post mortem.
- 1:21:26Heart rhythm. Hospital staff reported extreme
- 1:21:29tachycardia, meaning his heart was beating rapidly, a sign of
- 1:21:33distress but not clinical death. Body condition.
- 1:21:37His body was described as warm with no rigor mortis present
- 1:21:41yet, which is inconsistent with someone who had been dead for
- 1:21:45hours. So this suggests that Taron was
- 1:21:49not dead for a long period prior to the EMS arrival and that he
- 1:21:55may have been in a state of medical crisis rather than a
- 1:21:58completed overdose death. Medical efforts to resuscitate
- 1:22:05him continued for nearly 20 minutes after hospital arrival
- 1:22:09before he was pronounced dead at 7:55 AM.
- 1:22:13So why does this matter? This undermines the police
- 1:22:16officers initial assumption that he was already gone.
- 1:22:20Officer Lavoie performed CPR on a soft bed, failed to move
- 1:22:24Tehran to a hard surface until EM TS arrived, and administered
- 1:22:29Narcan despite Wellbutrin not being an opioid.
- 1:22:32The fact that Tehran had restored had a restored pulse,
- 1:22:36visible oxygen saturation, and no rigor mortis at the hospital
- 1:22:41contradicts the narrative that he had died long before help
- 1:22:45arrived. It also strengthens the argument
- 1:22:48that immediate, proper CPR and medical response could have
- 1:22:52changed the outcome. Maybe.
- 1:22:55So. This is one key discrepancy that
- 1:22:57supports Jennifer's call for a reinvestigation.
- 1:23:02So just wanted you guys to hear that hey Misbehaven, just the.
- 1:23:07Fact that they won't even hear you out is enough to tell me
- 1:23:10that they're doing something. It's.
- 1:23:13Shady in the very very least. Very, very least.
- 1:23:17Yeah, and so I did always be. Willing to at least engage in
- 1:23:23conversation with a victim's family, even if you feel like
- 1:23:27their requests are silly or unreasonable or whatever they
- 1:23:30may say you can't. Just no.
- 1:23:34I I totally agree that just. Pisses me off OK.
- 1:23:38So. From.
- 1:23:44January 4th through the 7th of 2021, he had a new medication
- 1:23:49for the prescription of Wellbutrin.
- 1:23:52He was last seen by others. He was being quiet, not showing
- 1:23:56suicidal signs. Multiple friends state that he
- 1:23:59never used drugs. And here's something we need to
- 1:24:02reiterate in the in the autopsy and everything, there is no
- 1:24:08vomiting, there's no pill residue, There is no presence of
- 1:24:12pills in his stomach and he supposedly swallowed over 60
- 1:24:17that would absolutely Wellbutrin pills that are very large.
- 1:24:23OK, so. There's no way it sounds like
- 1:24:30not to be that person. It sounds like the Marilyn
- 1:24:33Monroe bullshit how she like didn't have any like pills in
- 1:24:36her system after she. Yeah, but toxicology says he had
- 1:24:43Wellbutrin, THC and gabapentin, which, Jennifer, if you're still
- 1:24:50in here, why was Taron taking gabapentin if you could please
- 1:24:54tell us, because that's usually given for either seizures or for
- 1:25:00pain. And I took it for pain and it
- 1:25:03was actually one of the worst drugs on this earth, that and
- 1:25:06Lyrica. So I'm just curious as to why he
- 1:25:10was taking gabapentin at 26. You know the.
- 1:25:14Fact that he was taking Wellbutrin probably, you know,
- 1:25:18lends to the fact of people saying, oh, well, he must have
- 1:25:21been suicidal. You know, Wellbutrin's, you
- 1:25:23know, can't remember if that's more of an antidepressant or
- 1:25:25more of an anti anxiety, but I think it's more antidepressant,
- 1:25:28right? Yeah, and they also use it to
- 1:25:31help you quit smoking. That's actually what my dad was
- 1:25:34on when he died. Wellbutrin.
- 1:25:37Didn't he stop? Taking it for a while or
- 1:25:38something like that. I can't remember all the
- 1:25:41details. Dad remembers more than I do.
- 1:25:44Picking his medicine or something but I don't remember.
- 1:25:46But yeah, no, I. Know a lot of people that have
- 1:25:47had not great experiences and yeah I've never taken Wellbutrin
- 1:25:53specifically, but all of the antidepressants, anti anxiety,
- 1:25:58SSRI, anything like that I've taken.
- 1:26:02Yeah, well, gabapentin and Lyrica were definitely the worst
- 1:26:08that I've ever taken. He was taking Wellbutrin for
- 1:26:11depression, but what was he taking Gabapentin for?
- 1:26:17Yeah, it can take a long time. And they said that Wellbutrin
- 1:26:21are brightly colored and I can't remember if they're pink.
- 1:26:26I'd give a glow if my phone's upstairs, but yeah, that's.
- 1:26:32Yeah, I'm. Just thinking, trying to take 60
- 1:26:34pills Downing that stuff. OK, you don't know what the
- 1:26:36gabapentin was for. Usually it's for pain or
- 1:26:39seizures. And then she also said for
- 1:26:43bipolar. So I'm sure it's got multiple
- 1:26:48uses, so let's see. So those were just a few of the
- 1:26:55things. OK, so I'm just going to show
- 1:26:58you Jennifer's link tree that would.
- 1:27:00Be great. We posted it in the chat to
- 1:27:03anybody who's here right now watching it live.
- 1:27:05But he said that it's going to be posted in the description,
- 1:27:08yeah. It is it already?
- 1:27:09Is anybody who's watching us on replay please please, please
- 1:27:13check this out. This is probably going to be
- 1:27:15your best frame of reference for anything and everything related
- 1:27:20to Terron's case. OK, blue, some might be pink.
- 1:27:29OK. And I didn't.
- 1:27:35Find anything in the medical registers except pill bottle so
- 1:27:41maybe. It was just there the in the
- 1:27:43toxicology it. Wasn't in the IT wasn't in the
- 1:27:45toxicology. I thought I saw that in there.
- 1:27:48OK, so, so she's got, I believe this is this is actually a
- 1:27:55YouTube video and so she's got all the links of where she's
- 1:28:01she's gone online and talked about it.
- 1:28:05We've got murder is not suicide. Justice for Tyron Junior or
- 1:28:10Potsdam, NY. I believe that's her Facebook.
- 1:28:13Then there is a Spotify episode, Justice for Tyron Evans.
- 1:28:18There's a petition for Tyron Evans Junior case to be
- 1:28:21investigated by the New York State Attorney General.
- 1:28:25There's a rally starter petition for Taron.
- 1:28:28There's a GoFundMe for investigators and Council for
- 1:28:33Tron Justice for Tron, Garrett Phillips and Triana Somerville.
- 1:28:39Saint Louis or sorry, Saint Lawrence County.
- 1:28:44Contact the New York State Attorney General.
- 1:28:47New York State Attorney General requesting Tron's case to be
- 1:28:50reopened or reinvestigated. Contact the Saint Lawrence
- 1:28:58District Attorney demanding he refer to Ron Evans Junior's case
- 1:29:02to the New York State Attorney General to be reopened and
- 1:29:05reinvestigated. You want to read those while I
- 1:29:08put these up here? Yeah.
- 1:29:10Contact Board of Contact Board of Legislators requesting they
- 1:29:14demand the Saint Lawrence County District Attorney to refer
- 1:29:17Terron Evan Junior's case to the NYS of New York State Attorney
- 1:29:22General to be reopened and reinvestigated.
- 1:29:25Contact New York State Governor requesting Terron's case be
- 1:29:29referred to Attorney General and be reopened and reinvestigated.
- 1:29:32Contact Attorney General requesting she reopen and
- 1:29:35reinvestigate Terron's case. Contact Sheriff's Office
- 1:29:39demanding they release all materials pertaining to the case
- 1:29:42of Taron Evans Junior in the file dated and timed 17211041
- 1:29:48PM. Demand that Sheriff Ingle
- 1:29:50investigate the death of Taron Evans Junior and contact the
- 1:29:54Saint Lawrence County Attorney demanding he released a 911 Call
- 1:29:59anymore. And you really showed out with
- 1:30:03all the links, Jennifer. This is really great.
- 1:30:06Another one is Potsdam police officer Jared Lavoie.
- 1:30:10Lavoie. Yeah, Lavoie Lavoie's body Cam
- 1:30:13video, The only body Cam video received from the scene out of
- 1:30:17five responding officers, 2 Potsdam police officers and
- 1:30:21three St. Lawrence County Sheriff's.
- 1:30:23Have you watched any of these videos?
- 1:30:24So we can, but it shows Toron. So I don't know if that's
- 1:30:29appropriate or not or not. So let's see.
- 1:30:33Jennifer says, yes, toxicology results did say gabapentin was
- 1:30:38the in the therapeutic range. Yeah.
- 1:30:41So I'd just be interested to know why he was taking it
- 1:30:43specifically. I mean there can.
- 1:30:45Be various reasons multiple. Reasons one thing or another,
- 1:30:48but. Just interesting to think about
- 1:30:53Saint Lawrence County Sheriff O'connell's body Cam video of
- 1:30:57the death Saint Lawrence County Sheriff O'connell's body Cam
- 1:31:01video of the interview quote UN quote of me so.
- 1:31:03We can do that. It's not.
- 1:31:06We. Can watch that it's 9 minutes
- 1:31:09and 32 seconds so let's yeah, we're still on the the clear.
- 1:31:12For time wise. Yeah, it'll load.
- 1:31:20Looks like we're. Having less Internet problems
- 1:31:22now though. Yeah, counter small, OK.
- 1:31:25Here we go. Any.
- 1:31:29Audio I think. It's just quiet right now.
- 1:31:34Ink. I don't see any.
- 1:31:39It's all the way up. I think it's.
- 1:31:49Muted in some way. We just don't know.
- 1:31:51I don't, I don't think so it probably.
- 1:31:57There we go. Hello, Detective Sergeant
- 1:32:30Cringey with the Sheriff's Office.
- 1:32:31Is Jen here? May I come in or would you like
- 1:32:35to come out or? Detective Sergeant.
- 1:32:39Caringi, Deputy O'Connell, you met this morning.
- 1:32:42I don't know if you met Deputy McCarthy or Detective McCarthy
- 1:32:44yet or not. No.
- 1:32:47Come here. Shut the door.
- 1:32:48Please. Very sorry for your loss.
- 1:32:53We've talked to the county public health.
- 1:32:56I've talked to the county administrator.
- 1:32:58We can have an autopsy scheduled for one with Doctor Livingstone.
- 1:33:02He's the pathologist out of Jefferson County I wanted.
- 1:33:05Honestly, I wanted my son somewhere else to get it.
- 1:33:08The what? You call it the toxic.
- 1:33:09We have, we have two options. We have Doctor Livingstone, He's
- 1:33:12out of Jefferson County. He's the normal pathologist we
- 1:33:14use. He would come up and do it here.
- 1:33:17Our other option is Broom County.
- 1:33:21Be honest with you. I don't want nobody attached to
- 1:33:23you to Saint Lawrence County. I'm dealing with my son's stuff,
- 1:33:27so you know what I'm saying. Yeah, those.
- 1:33:29Are our two options. You know what?
- 1:33:30You know who I am up in here. You know, people don't like me
- 1:33:32up in here and I don't trust nobody, Broome.
- 1:33:36County or here, the pathologist that we uses at Jefferson
- 1:33:39County's medical examiner down there, but he's contracted with
- 1:33:42the three counties on here. The other option is Broome
- 1:33:45County outside of that and I haven't.
- 1:33:47Detect, I was told this morning by Syracuse that I called down
- 1:33:50here to ask some questions. Can I have a detective or
- 1:33:53somebody there at the time of autopsy to make sure there is
- 1:33:56nothing followed going on well? It.
- 1:33:58Depends on whether it's done. If they transfer the body to
- 1:34:01Broome County. I don't know if I can get down
- 1:34:02there in a certainly man or Broome County, Binghamton,
- 1:34:05Binghamton area, you know, here I would be at the autopsy.
- 1:34:09I go to all the autopsies, every single one of them.
- 1:34:11I document everything I recorded.
- 1:34:15Usually I would. Recommend.
- 1:34:18No, that's not something apparent.
- 1:34:20I just. Want to know?
- 1:34:21I'm sorry. But this woman is one of the
- 1:34:24biggest dealers. We're very.
- 1:34:25In this area, if she. Had been taken out, not killed,
- 1:34:29I'm not talking about that, but taken down like she should have
- 1:34:33been. We've arrested her multiple.
- 1:34:34Times well, she needs. To be arrested now you know.
- 1:34:37Fuck that. She's a drug dealer.
- 1:34:39I don't believe my son took 2 bottles of pills.
- 1:34:42I don't believe that shit at all.
- 1:34:44And it's just so happy as Mark Murray.
- 1:34:45You know what I said? All this shit I'm going through,
- 1:34:47I don't trust the Police Department.
- 1:34:49I don't trust honestly, none of y'all and I'm sorry.
- 1:34:51Don't take it. Take your personal.
- 1:34:53Don't you know what I'm saying? But this is my son.
- 1:34:55You know what I do here? You know, And I I, I want an
- 1:34:59investigation. Well, I understand.
- 1:35:01That that's what we're doing. John can attest to who I am.
- 1:35:04I'm I've been doing this for over 20 years now.
- 1:35:06John's known me for a long time. I will do the most thorough job
- 1:35:09I can. I don't have any problems
- 1:35:12calling people out on their findings if I don't agree with
- 1:35:15them. So I've never had an issue with
- 1:35:18a pathologist report that we've had done locally by Doctor
- 1:35:21Livingstone. He's not a local doctor.
- 1:35:23He's originally from Indiana area.
- 1:35:25He's a licensed pathologist. He was a surgeon before that.
- 1:35:29He has probably 04550 years of. I just don't.
- 1:35:35Want no Sadie sick, that's all I will.
- 1:35:38Guarantee I'm so. Untrustworthy of people right
- 1:35:41now? You.
- 1:35:42Understand. I mean, if it's your call, those
- 1:35:45are the two places that I can send them to.
- 1:35:50I can guarantee you that an autopsy done here will be just
- 1:35:53as thorough as an autopsy done in in Broome County.
- 1:35:58The only thing I can't guarantee is I can't guarantee that I can
- 1:36:00attend to one in Broome County simply because of the logistics
- 1:36:03of it all, you know, doing here, OK.
- 1:36:06This is, but I want you to please be present, and I want
- 1:36:08you to give me your word that you're going to do whatever
- 1:36:11absolutely you can. Please.
- 1:36:12Absolutely. Every time, I guarantee you, but
- 1:36:14I. I'm, I'm going to request the
- 1:36:16independent autopsy also. You can do that OK above and.
- 1:36:20Beyond, they'll contact the medical examiner will get all
- 1:36:22his records and stuff like that. You know the one thing you got
- 1:36:26to look at? I did.
- 1:36:27Not run and none of y'all. No nothing.
- 1:36:30I'm just trying to help injustice for people that have
- 1:36:33been murdered and. Look at.
- 1:36:35My baby now. Over.
- 1:36:38Somebody that should have been off the streets a long time ago,
- 1:36:42yeah. We don't disagree with that
- 1:36:44fact. You know, unfortunately, there's
- 1:36:47stuff that we have no control over and it's above us and the
- 1:36:51courts and stuff like that. Even at the governor's level
- 1:36:53with failed reform, you know, she should have been sitting in
- 1:36:57jail. I totally agree with you on
- 1:36:59that. You know, we do our due
- 1:37:01diligence. He even he.
- 1:37:02Came to me and he told me about her and I tried to just stay
- 1:37:06away, you know, he said this is what she does.
- 1:37:10She lures people in and she buys them all this stuff and she gets
- 1:37:14us to. She wants me to sell her drugs,
- 1:37:16and she wants to do this and she wants to do that, you know,
- 1:37:21leave her alone, son. Please stay away from her.
- 1:37:25It's hard to see outside someone else, you know, when you're in
- 1:37:28that situation, you know he probably had true feelings for
- 1:37:30her. Listen, I I he could have had
- 1:37:36true feelings for her, but she should not have been out of
- 1:37:38society. What she's doing.
- 1:37:40You're right. I totally agree, John I.
- 1:37:47Got. I apologize my phone's.
- 1:37:51Jen. Can I get your number 315?
- 1:37:542. 6. 1. 4/1. 22 and I'm trying to get my cell phone back on
- 1:38:01now. Hope you won't.
- 1:38:02Mind though, yeah, I think I got it.
- 1:38:04Hopefully. That's not your number now,
- 1:38:05Jennifer. Yep, 7. 4/2 Sorry.
- 1:38:10She's had it. I had this out for a while
- 1:38:11though. I want to.
- 1:38:15I want. I asked for a couple of his
- 1:38:17locks this morning. That we can do after the
- 1:38:20autopsy. Do you have any preference for
- 1:38:23Funeral Home or anything like that?
- 1:38:25Taken in the Syracuse. OK, all right, That's home.
- 1:38:28All right. So once we're done with the
- 1:38:31autopsy, did you meet Coronerwood this morning?
- 1:38:34June little lady glasses. So yeah.
- 1:38:39She. Will be in contact with you
- 1:38:40afterwards. As far as finding you know what
- 1:38:42Funeral Home you want, we'll make arrangements to have them
- 1:38:44transported down there again. I'll do that.
- 1:38:48So after I'm done with the autopsy, I will have basically
- 1:38:52preliminary findings, but it's going to be pendant tox and I'm
- 1:38:57it, it's going to be probably 3 weeks or more for toxicology.
- 1:39:03I know it's a long time and it's a terrible length of time to
- 1:39:06have to wait to find out answers, but you know,
- 1:39:09unfortunately. Yeah, I'm investigating her and
- 1:39:12doing whatever you got to do, you know, to make sure it wasn't
- 1:39:14no foul play or, you know, I can't.
- 1:39:19I can't even think right now. Like I want to do some foul shit
- 1:39:22right now, to be honest, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:39:24I'm trying to keep my composure, you know, I really am.
- 1:39:28I really AM. Jen, do you?
- 1:39:31Have any more questions for me right now?
- 1:39:33Can I get your? Number And can you write down
- 1:39:38their names just? Everybody I'll give you.
- 1:39:40A card, OK. Yeah, I got.
- 1:39:53Just something about her. Like for real.
- 1:39:56Seriously, this is. Me.
- 1:39:58That written number is my direct lineup office.
- 1:40:01Even if you lose this card, if you call the Sheriff's Office
- 1:40:04and ask for me, John knows me well enough that he'll remember
- 1:40:06my name and they'll get in touch with me.
- 1:40:09If I'm not there, leave me a message and I'll get back to you
- 1:40:11soon as I can. I will call you after the
- 1:40:14autopsy today or call John. He doesn't.
- 1:40:16Yeah, he doesn't have cards, but we'll write it on that.
- 1:40:18OK? I'll call John or you wrapped
- 1:40:20the autopsy and let me know if Doc have anything to find So and
- 1:40:26we'll do the best job we can all.
- 1:40:28Right please. John, do you have any questions?
- 1:40:32No. Yeah, if you think of any
- 1:40:34questions, a lot's going to go through your mind between now
- 1:40:37and whenever. Think, write them down, you
- 1:40:40know, reach out to me and I'll answer them the best I can.
- 1:40:42OK? I'm very very sorry for your
- 1:40:45loss. OK, wow.
- 1:41:02That was really. That was really intense.
- 1:41:06Yeah. Jennifer, our hearts go out to
- 1:41:09you. Seriously.
- 1:41:13OK. And there have been several
- 1:41:16people from this case who have retired or who have quit their
- 1:41:20jobs. And that's not all that are.
- 1:41:24Suspicious in any way? Yeah, I know.
- 1:41:27That's not OK. We've been talking privately
- 1:41:33about trying to do a few like actual stand alone videos rather
- 1:41:38than just live streams or you know, podcasts or whatever.
- 1:41:42And I feel like. This would.
- 1:41:44Probably be a worthwhile case to try and do some sort of a
- 1:41:47comprehensive full look at yeah at some point.
- 1:41:51I believe. So I.
- 1:41:53Believe. So, too, he retired just days
- 1:41:56after the New York State Attorney General contacted the
- 1:42:00sheriff's I'm. Curious if he was planning his
- 1:42:03retirement beforehand, I don't know.
- 1:42:07OK, I think this is maybe I played it out of order, but I
- 1:42:11think let's see. Saint Lawrence County Chief ADA
- 1:42:16Jason Marks resigned on the same day was coming.
- 1:42:19OK, Yeah. Yeah, and.
- 1:42:22All of that stuff is in the link tree, so please link.
- 1:42:26Tree again. Go and check out the link tree
- 1:42:29one more. Time in here, can you put it on
- 1:42:32the screen? I know that it's totally
- 1:42:34different, but if for some reason one wants to type it in,
- 1:42:38it's right there we go. Yeah.
- 1:42:41So I don't know, I think this is the actual death notification.
- 1:42:46I accidentally played it out of order, so I'm sorry about that,
- 1:42:50but we'll we'll play this. And Jennifer, I commend you
- 1:42:56because you really. You really?
- 1:42:59Held it together. Oh my God.
- 1:43:01Yeah, I mean. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:43:05I can't even imagine. That's a pain.
- 1:43:09I wish on nobody. OK, hold on.
- 1:43:25Let's go back to that. Oh, I can't.
- 1:43:44I hear it. What do I?
- 1:44:02Do that. I wonder if it's if there's any
- 1:44:03identifying information or something that maybe it censors
- 1:44:07itself. Oh, it transcribes on the right
- 1:44:19side over there, so it doesn't. Look like there's another two.
- 1:44:27Yeah, so. Let's go to right there.
- 1:44:34Is that not jumping? Go through it like that.
- 1:44:39So doesn't it be important? Well.
- 1:44:44I guess I could have played that whole thing.
- 1:44:47OK. So leave it at where it's at and
- 1:44:50OK, we'll just. Watch on the walk.
- 1:44:53Yeah. So I'm, I'm definitely
- 1:44:56suspicious, I definitely, you've got my interest piqued.
- 1:45:01So I definitely want to look more into this and do my own
- 1:45:08FOIL requests and. Oh, see what happens.
- 1:45:13That's fine. Thank you.
- 1:45:14It's just cold. When I was getting no no.
- 1:45:16That's fine. I appreciate it.
- 1:45:18Sorry to bother you guys so early.
- 1:45:24Now, is this John Youngblood again, or is this somebody else?
- 1:45:28Treze, is that her? Son Treze, is he here?
- 1:45:31OK. Yeah, because.
- 1:45:40Possums enrolled on Fridays, right?
- 1:45:41Yeah, yeah, that's right. That's another experience in
- 1:45:46itself right there home. School.
- 1:45:50Her ex Gotcha. I know I hate to complain too
- 1:46:31much because it could be a lot worse.
- 1:46:34What's that? Yeah, with the weather.
- 1:46:40Hello. Hello.
- 1:46:41How you doing? It's.
- 1:46:42Jennifer. Yeah.
- 1:46:43OK. Jennifer, I'm Deputy O'Connell,
- 1:46:44the Sheriff's Office, and I apologize for bothering you guys
- 1:46:46so early. OK.
- 1:46:48Taron, is that your son? Yes.
- 1:46:50OK. I'm very sorry to let you know
- 1:46:52he passed away this morning. No, no.
- 1:46:54No, no, no, no. No, no.
- 1:46:56Why? Hold on from what it looks like?
- 1:46:59It was an overdose an. Overdose of what pills?
- 1:47:02Medication. Where did you find my son?
- 1:47:07Please let me go. It was a. 911 call this morning.
- 1:47:10She was at his I believe it's his girlfriend's house.
- 1:47:12She who I'm I'm not going to give you.
- 1:47:14Do you know his girlfriend? Is it crystal Cap?
- 1:47:19That's not. The last name that was given to
- 1:47:20me but Crystal. Crystal was the first name that
- 1:47:22drug dealing bitch Crystal. I don't know that every every
- 1:47:25officer around here knows I'm not.
- 1:47:27Familiar with her OK. We're about to have a brutal
- 1:47:30fucking problem move. Yo.
- 1:47:36I'm very. Sorry.
- 1:47:48Are. You going to be OK with her?
- 1:47:50I don't. Know Sir, I don't live here.
- 1:47:53I mean, I live here, but I'm from another town.
- 1:47:57Got stuck in. Gotcha.
- 1:48:00I've been here almost a. Year.
- 1:48:02And. Holy smokes.
- 1:48:05I I oh, I I don't even know how to OK, Why?
- 1:48:09Why don't? You take care of her, OK?
- 1:48:22I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Jennifer.
- 1:48:28I don't like the. Way that.
- 1:48:31Was. You know what I mean?
- 1:48:32I don't either. He just didn't.
- 1:48:33Seem when you come to bring a family, the worst news possible.
- 1:48:42I don't know, it just didn't seem like there was a lot of
- 1:48:45empathy there. My unprofessional opinion I
- 1:48:50want. To listen to Crystal's
- 1:48:52interview, Yeah. Just a heads up though, we're
- 1:48:55about almost at the 2 hour mark here and I don't know if we have
- 1:48:58somebody behind us on I. Do not believe that we have
- 1:49:02anybody behind us. OK, So at least I want to get
- 1:49:06through these two audios. And then since I've already done
- 1:49:12shorts for my interview, we don't have to worry about that.
- 1:49:17So OK. Yeah, No.
- 1:49:18I just. OK, so see, they had more
- 1:49:25empathy for Crystal than me. I believe that.
- 1:49:29OK, so we're going to, we're going to listen to Crystal's
- 1:49:33interview 1st and then well, we'll just go in order.
- 1:49:38OK, so. 14210.
- 1:50:38Out of 236 State Highway 11 B pot stand interview.
- 1:51:37None. Hey, Brian.
- 1:52:14How's it going? Good.
- 1:52:15How are you? How's it bad about yourself?
- 1:52:17Pretty good. So I have a few more questions.
- 1:52:19OK. Do you got a couple minutes?
- 1:52:21Yeah. Come on here.
- 1:52:22Thanks. Appreciate it.
- 1:52:25OK, you got it. Looks like you got a package
- 1:52:28here. How's it going, Sir?
- 1:52:38Good, good. Yeah, that's.
- 1:52:40Good. So I'm trying to kind of put
- 1:52:42together a timeline of the last couple days with Ron.
- 1:52:45So you kind of told me earlier, have a good one yesterday during
- 1:52:53the day. So what was the day like?
- 1:52:57So. I mean, I got home that he was
- 1:53:00in the room, she was at work. What time was that when I got?
- 1:53:03Home or. When you got home.
- 1:53:05So I went to my shop. So I was probably there till
- 1:53:07about two or 3:00 in the afternoon.
- 1:53:08OK, I got home, you know, he was in his room just chilling the
- 1:53:12room just chilling watching Tvi was in my room just watching
- 1:53:17YouTube and I usually. Do.
- 1:53:19She got home, we had dinner and stuff.
- 1:53:21About what time? Was that she gets home about.
- 1:53:235:00 She was cooking dinner. We had dinner about 637 o'clock,
- 1:53:26OK. You know, normal.
- 1:53:29Night until I went to bed, you know.
- 1:53:32Little bit of an argument at night time, but nothing usual.
- 1:53:34Nothing loud, crazy, just, you know, OK Stupid couple stuff
- 1:53:38does. Did anybody else come over to
- 1:53:40hang out with Taron yesterday that you know of?
- 1:53:42No, nobody. What about the day before?
- 1:53:45Honestly. The day before I wasn't here.
- 1:53:47I just got back from California. I just got back.
- 1:53:49When did you get? Back from California, so work.
- 1:53:52I'm still talking right now. Friday I think I got back I.
- 1:53:55Think it was. Wednesday night at 1:00 in the
- 1:53:56morning so. At.
- 1:53:58Night. They were in bed already.
- 1:53:59OK. And you didn't see him yesterday
- 1:54:02morning before you went to work or no because.
- 1:54:04He was in bed and I left for the day.
- 1:54:05I got home about 2:00. What time did you?
- 1:54:07Leave. I left here so I.
- 1:54:09Didn't have I don't have to work this week.
- 1:54:11I went to my. Shop.
- 1:54:11I left probably about 7:00 or 8:00.
- 1:54:14Yeah, OK. What about friends?
- 1:54:16Does try and have any friends that ever come over or he
- 1:54:19doesn't? Have He didn't really have a lot
- 1:54:20of friends down here. He didn't talk a lot.
- 1:54:23He was very, very, very quiet. Kept him cell phone.
- 1:54:26I mean like. You know, we have some talks at
- 1:54:27late at night sometimes. But like, it was never like he
- 1:54:30didn't really open up or like, say, hey, I'm going to go to
- 1:54:32this person's house. He didn't go anywhere, really.
- 1:54:35What are you guys talking about? Cars and stuff, you know, And I
- 1:54:38mean, I took him. For the rides in cars.
- 1:54:39And he loved it. You know, I tried to be as good
- 1:54:42of a person as I could do him because, you know, I knew he
- 1:54:43wasn't from around here, if you will, or didn't know a lot of
- 1:54:47people. So I was like, try to be nice,
- 1:54:49you know, cool. Yeah, just try to be decent,
- 1:54:51decent guy to him. Sure, you could tell he's had a
- 1:54:53rough. One thank you.
- 1:54:55Girl OK, because. He was very you can tell when
- 1:54:58somebody just too quiet. Yeah, and I don't know, I know
- 1:55:01that he had mental health issues before.
- 1:55:03Like he's been brought up. OK.
- 1:55:05Like what? What kind of mental health
- 1:55:07issues I think? He so when my mom first met him,
- 1:55:10he actually ended up going to like a hospital or something out
- 1:55:13of state. I think it was OK.
- 1:55:15I don't know exactly what it was, but they said that they he
- 1:55:19couldn't be released unless somebody was able to care for
- 1:55:21him and like, you know, watch for him.
- 1:55:22Yeah. My mom was like, yeah,
- 1:55:23absolutely sure. They wanted to make sure he had
- 1:55:25a place to go because he didn't actually have like a a resident
- 1:55:29and I don't think he even had an ID at the time.
- 1:55:31OK, because I know. Like that he had to file for all
- 1:55:33that stuff. He didn't have anything for his
- 1:55:35ID, OK? Like he had no proof of
- 1:55:37identity. Like nothing.
- 1:55:39OK, I. Don't even know how that.
- 1:55:40Happens, yeah. That's a good question.
- 1:55:43Like I. Don't know how like somebody
- 1:55:44like literally loses everything that they have, like birth
- 1:55:47certificate ID, yeah. That's that's, it's hard to
- 1:55:51imagine, but unfortunately there's probably a lot of people
- 1:55:53out there like that. It it's.
- 1:55:54It's really sad. Yeah, sure.
- 1:55:57So he, he didn't ever have like anybody come over and hang out
- 1:56:01or anything like that. He never.
- 1:56:02Had anybody over OK? Did he go anywhere?
- 1:56:05Did he go to like his mom's or so?
- 1:56:08From what I heard, him and his mom didn't get along too well.
- 1:56:10OK. Whenever.
- 1:56:12It was brought up. It was very quiet conversation.
- 1:56:15He changed the subject. Almost.
- 1:56:16Immediately. Oh yeah, so.
- 1:56:19I I don't know honestly. Like obviously I go to work
- 1:56:21throughout the day. So if he went.
- 1:56:23Anywhere. So today I wouldn't really know.
- 1:56:25OK, he had a house key and everything.
- 1:56:27Sure. So sure you can come and go as
- 1:56:29he please and such. Yeah.
- 1:56:32Is your mom around? Yeah, she's just.
- 1:56:34In the house, hyperventilating. She's just losing shit.
- 1:56:37She can't even make a sentence. All she's saying is no.
- 1:56:40I can imagine it's very difficult.
- 1:56:42Do you think it's here? Just trying to like, you know,
- 1:56:44comfort her, OK? Do you think there's any way I
- 1:56:46could talk with her? Could you check and see if if
- 1:56:48she's willing to just. I'm just like I said, I'm trying
- 1:56:50to put together the last couple days to see if he, you know,
- 1:56:54went somewhere or if we, you know, stuff like that, just to
- 1:56:57get a little information. OK, I really appreciate it bro.
- 1:57:00Sure. Thank you.
- 1:57:25Thanks. Man, I really appreciate it.
- 1:57:37Hi, Crystal. Hi.
- 1:57:39I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm Detective Mccarger with the
- 1:57:43Sheriff's Office. So like I was.
- 1:57:45Talking with Brian. Well, thank you.
- 1:57:47I appreciate it. I don't want to trip over to
- 1:57:50Cat. Yeah, he just moved everything.
- 1:57:54Sure. So I'm just I'm Detective
- 1:57:56Mccarger with the Sheriff's Office.
- 1:57:59I'm just trying to put together like the last couple days of of
- 1:58:02where Taran, if he went anywhere, if he had anybody come
- 1:58:06over, like kind of what his daily routine was he.
- 1:58:11So he has severe mental health problems.
- 1:58:15He. Never left the house.
- 1:58:17Never left the house, he didn't. Socialize anybody?
- 1:58:22OK, I am literally the only person in his phone contact.
- 1:58:26OK? I mean literally OK he hadn't.
- 1:58:31He was prescribed to a loft in January and he was having a bad
- 1:58:37reaction to it, so the primary switched him to Wellbutrin.
- 1:58:46December 31st. I picked the script up and we
- 1:58:50ate after that. Yeah, I think it was.
- 1:58:53It was whatever that day was. It was.
- 1:58:55That's the day I picked the script up when he was January
- 1:58:572nd, the 4th of the week he was he took it for four days regular
- 1:59:08dose before he died this morning.
- 1:59:13He had a he was given emergency services for his mental health
- 1:59:26problems because they're really severe and they did it on, on
- 1:59:33the phone assessment for them for like an hour and then.
- 1:59:38He was supposed. To go Monday and he never went.
- 1:59:41He didn't. He didn't go to his appointment,
- 1:59:43OK. He's very isolated, so like if
- 1:59:48people like if he has a friend over or anybody comes over,
- 1:59:52he'll go in the room. OK, Oh, if Brian has a friend
- 1:59:55over or something, if anybody's here.
- 1:59:58I I met him a couple of times and he.
- 2:00:00Said two words, very, very, very quiet.
- 2:00:03But like he was the best guy ever to me.
- 2:00:08He treated me like freaking didn't even describe it.
- 2:00:12He just didn't want anybody around him beside me, OK?
- 2:00:18He lacked ambition. He didn't have like any tribe
- 2:00:22and I know it's because he was Leon stable and we were working
- 2:00:26on that. Sure.
- 2:00:29You know, we were doing like small balls just.
- 2:00:33Try to build them up a little bit.
- 2:00:34Sure, of course, when he. When he's going to do that time
- 2:00:38like this, you know, it's hard. So I just feel I just feel like
- 2:00:45you always feel like you could have no, he was having a seizure
- 2:00:48when I caught up and I should have called like one of my
- 2:00:52friend. He got meet somebody when
- 2:00:54they're having a seizure time. He just.
- 2:00:58This happens you. Can't blame yourself, that's
- 2:01:00all. We bet you really can't.
- 2:01:02OK, I understand you got. To be strong.
- 2:01:12I know. Yeah, not this moment.
- 2:01:15So when was the last time he went somewhere?
- 2:01:21Did he? Does he go visit his mother at
- 2:01:22all or? What the?
- 2:01:27He didn't really have much to do with her or well.
- 2:01:30For example, all of her boyfriends stabbed him right
- 2:01:35here and she chose her boy. I mean, kid, he grew up in
- 2:01:41foster care. She's a piece of shit.
- 2:01:44We had problems that was. Back over the summer.
- 2:01:51Yeah, he got stabbed in July. Yeah, he went to.
- 2:01:55Go visit. Us and whoever this boyfriend is
- 2:02:00stabbed. And he had to go.
- 2:02:04You know, obviously go to the hospital.
- 2:02:06And. They.
- 2:02:07Stitched it off and then he ended up getting like a severe
- 2:02:11infection so he had to go get antibiotics for it.
- 2:02:16It was pretty nasty. Scott right, I know we.
- 2:02:22Went to dinner Sunday, Yeah. We went to dinner.
- 2:02:24Sunday, that would have been OK, OK.
- 2:02:28On New Year's Eve and he said maybe 2.
- 2:02:33Words just real quiet on Yeah, but that's not out of the
- 2:02:36ordinary for him. I saw a.
- 2:02:37Couple of times and each time he was quiet.
- 2:02:40When it's like just me and him, he never shut up.
- 2:02:43You know, I think I more comfortable.
- 2:02:45He was a person, sure, absolutely.
- 2:02:49And love is. The head of the Black Lives
- 2:02:51Matter shit. Like she's a joke, yeah.
- 2:02:55OK, that. I know that bothered him a
- 2:03:00little bit too, because like. She's an.
- 2:03:09Embarrassment to him in a sense. She just, I was on the phone
- 2:03:12with her when he called, OK. She was asking me like, you
- 2:03:15know, a lot of questions. But like, sure.
- 2:03:17I don't even hear any like sadness or sorrow in her voice.
- 2:03:21Like how cold can you be I? I, I couldn't imagine, I, I, I
- 2:03:27can't imagine what you're going through and.
- 2:03:30No. Who, who, Who did he see for a
- 2:03:35doctor? Doctor Path Malingman.
- 2:03:39If he's at his EJ, he's at the EJ Noble in.
- 2:03:43Canton, Yeah. OK.
- 2:03:45Path Malingen. Path Malingen.
- 2:03:47Like I could pull up his patient portal, the preliminary, it was
- 2:03:53his first time, so why did she? Have his pension that.
- 2:03:55Was on the phone correct or that was OK behavioral help?
- 2:03:59He was EPH was on the. Phone.
- 2:04:02OK, that's. The one he was supposed to go to
- 2:04:04Monday to see his psychiatrist. OK, he went to Path Molineman
- 2:04:11in. I could pull it up to.
- 2:04:16Give you the That's OK. That's OK.
- 2:04:18But but it was, it was somewhat recent, not not like 2 years
- 2:04:22ago. It was like back in the last.
- 2:04:24Month OK the code. For.
- 2:04:29Diagnosis is moderate to severe depression.
- 2:04:34OK. And then behavioral health
- 2:04:37called them actually the very day that he went and saw the
- 2:04:43primary. OK like whatever the report was,
- 2:04:46it came back pretty serious. Sure.
- 2:04:50OK, I just missed one. I know.
- 2:04:52Did he go anywhere? Did.
- 2:04:55He say Wednesday, so the So the last day he went somewhere was
- 2:04:59Sunday and he went to dinner with you guys.
- 2:05:03What's your name, ma'am? Angela Kip in yours, ma'am.
- 2:05:06Karen Fuller. Karen Fuller.
- 2:05:09OK, yeah, I know. Oh yeah, you're the best.
- 2:05:23OK, if I have any other questions for you, I'll, I'll,
- 2:05:29I'll stop in. Or would you prefer I call or I
- 2:05:33mean I? Work I normally I'm at.
- 2:05:35Work. Sure.
- 2:05:35Of course, that job never ends up there, Huh.
- 2:05:41I I know you've been going through a lot up there too.
- 2:05:43I kind of, I kind of scan the complaints on occasion and I see
- 2:05:47you, you had a couple up there that was Oh yes.
- 2:05:50This. Is what's happened.
- 2:05:51There the Slater. Character and they they report.
- 2:05:55I got, like I said, that I got them out of there, but then they
- 2:05:58did a home invasion with a knife.
- 2:06:01Yeah. So my tenant, so my tenant out
- 2:06:04of fear because they're like, we're coming back no matter
- 2:06:06what. So my tenant moved out Friday.
- 2:06:09I let him break his leaves. I mean.
- 2:06:11Oh yeah. So who owns the place now out
- 2:06:13there? Does he still?
- 2:06:15How's that going? He, he don't and I don't.
- 2:06:18Have any problems? He's never there.
- 2:06:20I That's perfect. If I see him an.
- 2:06:21Hour A. Week.
- 2:06:23That's that's good. I know how.
- 2:06:25He is, but I don't have a problem.
- 2:06:28Yeah, yeah. OK.
- 2:06:32I don't really have anything else at this time.
- 2:06:35I mean, we don't have any. We're just trying to sure, of
- 2:06:42course, of course I that I don't know.
- 2:06:49I couldn't tell you. I'm just out talking with some
- 2:06:53people right now. And it sounds like he does he
- 2:06:58have any friends, anybody that he would reach out to if he was
- 2:07:02having just OK, it's just me. I personally since he's been
- 2:07:09with. Her I haven't.
- 2:07:13And you guys are all sisters or I'm a close friend of the
- 2:07:18family. OK, OK.
- 2:07:23OK. Alright.
- 2:07:23I'll do it. I won't.
- 2:07:24I won't steal your pen. Although it's a nice pen.
- 2:07:27I like it. No, not at all.
- 2:07:29That's OK, I'll go out if you don't mind.
- 2:07:36I'll just give him one of my cards.
- 2:07:37OK, so or maybe I'll give you 2 or something and if you have any
- 2:07:42questions or I have a. Question.
- 2:07:44Sure, what if and I just received it already because the
- 2:07:48tone? She gave her on the phone.
- 2:07:49When she just spoke with her. What if she's starts harassing
- 2:07:54Crystal? Call us immediately, OK if.
- 2:07:57She's and. And you're talking about his
- 2:08:00mother, Jen. Jennifer.
- 2:08:01Yeah. If she starts giving.
- 2:08:04Sure. Of course.
- 2:08:06If she starts giving you any problems, call us and we'll end
- 2:08:09it immediately. I mean.
- 2:08:10I, I mean, I kind of yeah, yeah. Sure, of course, but.
- 2:08:17Like when when the sheriff went to tell her that he was just
- 2:08:21these yes, that's going overdose.
- 2:08:25I guess why she would, you know, thinking other, but he doesn't
- 2:08:29use drugs, he doesn't drink nothing to smoke cigarettes.
- 2:08:34So she's probably thinking because she doesn't know her
- 2:08:36child. So I get why she would come at
- 2:08:41me that way, but that's not what it was sure of.
- 2:08:44Course and I'm trying. You know she is owed the
- 2:08:48explanation. Sure.
- 2:08:49You know, Yeah. But that's it.
- 2:08:52I mean, she can't. Sure.
- 2:08:53Absolutely. I don't.
- 2:08:54Want you to have any more struggles you're going through
- 2:08:57enough you absolutely. Absolutely, and it seems like he
- 2:09:02got a good support group here. But if you do need anything, of
- 2:09:06course, always reach out and and give me a call.
- 2:09:10Brian, any, any of you guys, of course, thank you for now.
- 2:09:12Appreciate. That I'll, I'll do what I can.
- 2:09:16And, you know, unfortunately the only thing that can heal is time
- 2:09:23and and this is going to take a long time.
- 2:09:29So, you know, make sure you keep, you know, reaching out to
- 2:09:31your friends and people that reach out too and.
- 2:09:34You've got your T set too. It's not.
- 2:09:38Your No, absolutely not. You cannot blame yourself when
- 2:09:42somebody makes that choice. That's.
- 2:09:45It. People.
- 2:09:46People who you don't. Understand.
- 2:09:48People what? They're going through in their
- 2:09:50minds exactly. And the people who make these
- 2:09:54decisions like that, they're, they're not going to tell you
- 2:09:57they're doing it. No, that's.
- 2:10:01That's what I said. They've made their choice, you
- 2:10:02know, and so I'll grab those cards for you guys, OK?
- 2:10:08And like I said, that is your anything.
- 2:10:10Don't hesitate, OK? And if.
- 2:10:12I have any other questions, I'll either give you a call or or
- 2:10:15maybe. Not be like an asking you do
- 2:10:16them like you expect. Like you know what?
- 2:10:19I'm. Saying I'm working on.
- 2:10:20It. You.
- 2:10:22Guys, do OK, do the best you can, OK?
- 2:10:49If you need anything, keep an eye on your mom, OK?
- 2:10:53Will do. And if anything, you know, if
- 2:10:55you see that she's really struggling, don't hesitate to
- 2:10:58give us a call. Sounds good.
- 2:11:00OK. Appreciate you, man.
- 2:11:01All right, buddy. Take it easy, Brian.
- 2:11:02You too. Did he explain the same courtesy
- 2:11:07I'm. Taking.
- 2:11:09To Jennifer that I hadn't looked.
- 2:11:11Up. No, no, I don't know if that's
- 2:11:13end of. Interview time 12:05 anybody?
- 2:11:16Extend the same courtesy. No, I didn't.
- 2:11:20OK, so actually I think we're going to call it a night because
- 2:11:23I'm starting to hurt and if I sit here too long I'll be
- 2:11:29hurting really bad. Lovely life.
- 2:11:31Of the disabled veteran. I know, but I thank everybody so
- 2:11:36much for being here to discuss Taron.
- 2:11:39And this is just the first, the first part of it.
- 2:11:44I think we're going to really try to talk more about it.
- 2:11:48And if, if we don't release a video this Saturday, then we
- 2:11:59will have one coming up that will go into all of the other
- 2:12:04information and stuff like that. And hopefully, hopefully Nick
- 2:12:08Hillary can join us sometime. And if Detective Jones or
- 2:12:17Sheriff Jones would like to join us, he's more than welcome to
- 2:12:20too. I will give him just a fair an
- 2:12:23opportunity to discuss what happened.
- 2:12:26But we do need to get down to the bottom of what happened to
- 2:12:30Garrett Phillips and Taron Evans Junior.
- 2:12:33And so if please just go out there, look at Jennifer's link
- 2:12:39tree, share it out and just do whatever you can to promote this
- 2:12:45story and let people know about the injustice that Jennifer and
- 2:12:48her family has faced and that Garrett Phillips injustice, you
- 2:12:55know, there's there's been no justice for Garrett as well.
- 2:12:58So this is just. One of countless examples, never
- 2:13:03ending examples of the police dropping the ball.
- 2:13:08And especially when it involves minorities, people just.
- 2:13:13I mean, I, I yeah, sorry, the words aren't coming to me right
- 2:13:18now. I'm getting upset again, but not
- 2:13:21even a fraction as upset as Jennifer.
- 2:13:25You know, this just, yeah, this just, it's fucked up and I'm
- 2:13:31sorry. Black Lives Matter and we need
- 2:13:33to make sure that we are just 100% seeing that from the
- 2:13:37rooftops. Show up to the protests going on
- 2:13:41in your areas. If you believe in A cause, show
- 2:13:44up and show out. Don't let this just become
- 2:13:47another thing to fade into the background.
- 2:13:50It's really good Taron's story out there and like I said, we're
- 2:13:55going to, I don't know if it's going to be Flyers or business
- 2:13:58cards or what, but we'll do something.
- 2:14:01We promise. That's our promise to you.
- 2:14:03That's our promise to Taron so. Yeah.
- 2:14:07So thank you, Jennifer, so much for sharing your story, sharing
- 2:14:13Taron's story, sharing Garrett's story, and I pray that one day
- 2:14:17you find the answers you're looking for and we will continue
- 2:14:21to go on this journey with you. And I don't remember if we
- 2:14:24mentioned this, this is unrelated, but this is the one
- 2:14:29year anniversary of the channel. Did you mention it?
- 2:14:31Yeah, earlier. It is the one one year
- 2:14:34anniversary of the channel, so yeah.
- 2:14:38And good thing. To to end out our year or not
- 2:14:43end up you know what I'm. Saying like kick off.
- 2:14:45Our new year. Yeah, this is good.
- 2:14:49This is good, yeah. So please, please have a blessed
- 2:14:53night, a blessed week, Please go out and do something to change
- 2:14:59the world and make it better. Absolutely.
- 2:15:01Have a blessed. Night.
