Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: And I invited you here. I thought I made myself
- 0:14Speaker 1: perfectly clear. When you're a guest to my home, you
- 0:21Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty. And I said, no, guests,
- 0:27Speaker 1: your presences presents enough. I already had too much stuff,
- 0:35Speaker 1: So how do you dare to surbey me?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Welcome to I said, no gifts. I'm Richer Wineger. Thank
- 0:55Speaker 2: you for meeting me here. We're here on the podcast.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I'm what's going on. I've had another classic Bridger Wineger mourning.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Everything has just been I was angry at someone this morning,
- 1:12Speaker 2: but I redirected the energy in a positive way, and
- 1:16Speaker 2: now I'm angry at everyone and it's working for me.
- 1:20Speaker 2: It's working for me. I'm it's charging me up. I'm
- 1:24Speaker 2: powering through my day, just getting madder and madder at
- 1:27Speaker 2: everyone I come in contact with. So that is kind
- 1:31Speaker 2: of what I'm doing before lunch. You know, I haven't
- 1:33Speaker 2: had lunch yet, and I'm realizing my lunch is going
- 1:36Speaker 2: to be delayed because we're starting recording at Noon's what
- 1:40Speaker 2: day of the week is it? Even it doesn't matter
- 1:42Speaker 2: to anyone. I've brought no new information to you as
- 1:46Speaker 2: a listener yet, and that's good. That's a positive thing
- 1:50Speaker 2: on a podcast is I should look and see if
- 1:52Speaker 2: I have no I don't, I mean outside of Patreon. Well,
- 1:57Speaker 2: I I'm sure I've mentioned patri recently, but I should
- 2:01Speaker 2: mention it again. We're having the time of our lives
- 2:04Speaker 2: on Patreon, Patreon dot com slash I said, no gifts.
- 2:10Speaker 2: It's flourishing everyone over there. It's a little walled garden
- 2:13Speaker 2: of delight. Everybody's having the time of their life. I'm
- 2:17Speaker 2: having the time of my life. Special guests. We've had
- 2:21Speaker 2: Naomi k Peragan, We've had my mom, We've had Jimmy Smagoula.
- 2:26Speaker 2: All kinds of people come over come support the podcast.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I mean it costs a probably a thousandth of a
- 2:33Speaker 2: Netflix subscription at this point. So I don't know, there's
- 2:38Speaker 2: just kind of no excuse. I don't want to hear
- 2:42Speaker 2: anything about it. I think I've dragged everyone through whatever.
- 2:46Speaker 2: This was long enough. I think we should get into
- 2:48Speaker 2: the podcast. Today's guest is absolutely delightful. It's Katherine McCafferty.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Catherine welcomed. I said, no gifts.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Hello, thank you so much for having me.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I'm so happy to have you here.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I'm a little servis that you're mad at me now
- 3:02Speaker 3: based on that intro, Okay, great, not yet, Okay, I
- 3:05Speaker 3: can't wait to dig myself out of a hole.
- 3:08Speaker 2: And it's going to be a deep hole. Yeah yeah, yeah, inescapable. Absolutely.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I start every interaction with every single human being. I'm like,
- 3:16Speaker 3: you're on a pedestal and I'm a tiny rat mouse.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I'm ready to make mistakes. Just get on your nerves.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Yeah no, I can't imagine, but I can, so just
- 3:27Speaker 2: be careful for the next hour or so.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I love walking. I'm broken glass.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I'm on my lasson. Yeah, you were in some sort
- 3:37Speaker 2: of traffic on the way here. I was also in
- 3:39Speaker 2: similar traffic, sort of.
- 3:41Speaker 3: La are you from? Where are you from?
- 3:43Speaker 2: I'm from Salt Lake City? Okay, where are you from?
- 3:45Speaker 3: I'm from Chicago.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:47Speaker 3: We drive fast there. Oh and La, people don't drive fast.
- 3:52Speaker 3: They actually, I think, make a point of driving ten
- 3:56Speaker 3: miles below the speed limit, like per hour. And I'm
- 4:01Speaker 3: floored when I get on the expressway and I go, oh,
- 4:03Speaker 3: we're all going forty really neighborhoods, Yes, and I am.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I mean, I'm a menace to society. When I am
- 4:12Speaker 3: in my car, I'm constantly just sort of screaming at
- 4:15Speaker 3: no one. But that's where I get out all of
- 4:17Speaker 3: my rage. So then I arrived to a place kind
- 4:21Speaker 3: of like fluster, apologizing to everyone sweating.
- 4:30Speaker 2: No, I think I've tried to piece together why driving
- 4:35Speaker 2: in LA is so particularly bad, and my theory, I've
- 4:39Speaker 2: come to the conclusion that almost everyone here is a transplant. Yes,
- 4:42Speaker 2: almost everyone here thinks they're more important than everyone else. Correct,
- 4:45Speaker 2: And almost everyone here thinks that they all need to
- 4:48Speaker 2: be to their place on time before everyone else. And
- 4:50Speaker 2: so but that all melts together with no one knowing
- 4:53Speaker 2: where they're going. Oh, yes, and so everyone's kind of
- 4:56Speaker 2: going too slow.
- 4:58Speaker 3: On their phone on their phone an emo. Yes, I'm
- 5:01Speaker 3: constantly sending voice texts when I'm in my car, so
- 5:05Speaker 3: it never makes sense. It's voice two text, it's not
- 5:08Speaker 3: a voice note.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Right, So yeah, the voice I've recently, for whatever reason,
- 5:13Speaker 2: my car updated or my phone updated to it no
- 5:16Speaker 2: longer letting me do that in the car. Oh, I
- 5:18Speaker 2: can no longer get in touch with the phone.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Oh my god. Cool.
- 5:23Speaker 2: It feels like a good safety feature to be like, no,
- 5:25Speaker 2: we want you to be using the phone.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you got to use your thumbs on this one.
- 5:29Speaker 2: And this was when I had just gotten used to,
- 5:32Speaker 2: like was finally kind of trusting how bad it was.
- 5:34Speaker 2: And I knew it would say sent by Siri. I
- 5:37Speaker 2: I won't say it so my phone doesn't freak out. Yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 2: and so I would at least know that the recipient
- 5:41Speaker 2: would know. That's why it was a disaster.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Of a text.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, But.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Now I'm trapped in my car just being mad at
- 5:47Speaker 2: the phone. But you're sending you are Are they long texts?
- 5:51Speaker 3: Or oh yeah they're long? There long may make no sense.
- 5:56Speaker 3: There's so many like misspellings. But what I want to
- 6:00Speaker 3: be communicating as usually that I'm late. Oh and then
- 6:04Speaker 3: also some kind of tidbit about my day. So my
- 6:07Speaker 3: friends all know that my friends are all like third detectives,
- 6:11Speaker 3: and I feel like I'm doing them a favor, right
- 6:13Speaker 3: because I'm like, I'm giving you sort of like a
- 6:15Speaker 3: fun puzzle for your morning. You're welcome.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's something you can decipher. You don't need connections
- 6:21Speaker 2: or wordle or anything. It's just a text from cast.
- 6:23Speaker 3: This's just a text from me. I've always been like
- 6:26Speaker 3: that though, and I don't use punctuation my text, and
- 6:28Speaker 3: I've been told that that's a huge turnoff.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Somebody told you that that was a turnoff.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Yes, that I don't use punctuation. It was when I
- 6:37Speaker 3: was dating men, so it was a while ago.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Okay, Oh, and that would get me away from men
- 6:42Speaker 2: as well.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and yeah, that was it, this job that broke
- 6:46Speaker 3: the camera's back. I said, I'm.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Gay, honey, men's demand for punctuation made me gay.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Yep, mm hmm. That was the whole thing. There's nothing
- 6:55Speaker 3: else that's wrong with straight men, nothing else. You heard
- 6:58Speaker 3: it here first, Okay, it's just their insistence on punctuation.
- 7:04Speaker 2: That is a crazy thing to ask for. I don't
- 7:07Speaker 2: I don't use any I mean I will if I
- 7:09Speaker 2: finish a sentence and have one more sentence, there will
- 7:11Speaker 2: be a period between the two.
- 7:12Speaker 3: But well, that's the kind of punctuation he was talking about.
- 7:15Speaker 2: So it was just run on sentences.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I was texting like I was speaking, do you
- 7:20Speaker 3: know what I mean? I speak very fast and you
- 7:23Speaker 3: got to keep up and he was just slow.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So but so if you like with a if you
- 7:28Speaker 2: were asking a question, there would be no question mark.
- 7:31Speaker 3: I don't have time for that like that, like that,
- 7:35Speaker 3: and then I feel like it's a great like indicator
- 7:38Speaker 3: if you're going to be like on my same page
- 7:40Speaker 3: in terms of like, you can pick up jokes. We
- 7:42Speaker 3: don't have to explain ourselves like you're in the cadence
- 7:46Speaker 3: of my mind immediately.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Which is a nightmare, but it's a delightful one.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I would I want to share it with the person
- 7:53Speaker 3: that I love, Right, you should be part of my nightmare.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Love it.
- 7:58Speaker 2: That's what a relationship is is two people sharing one
- 8:01Speaker 2: night man. Yeah, people can tell if they're getting a
- 8:06Speaker 2: voice to text for me, if there are if there's
- 8:09Speaker 2: a lot of punctuation, if the whole thing ends with
- 8:11Speaker 2: a period or a question Marke, It's like, this is
- 8:13Speaker 2: not Bridger, this is a computer is in charge right now? Yes,
- 8:17Speaker 2: And I almost want to ask the phone, will you
- 8:20Speaker 2: just not put any.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Don't finish that?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't need you to do that for me.
- 8:26Speaker 2: But there's really nothing you can do.
- 8:28Speaker 3: No, you can't. You can't reason with a phone.
- 8:31Speaker 2: No, there's absolutely not for me. When I was able
- 8:34Speaker 2: to do the voice to text, I would rehearse in
- 8:36Speaker 2: my mind several times before I would even contact the phone. Genie.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I would say this is how I'll say it so
- 8:42Speaker 2: I don't get too flustered. Amazing, and then if it's
- 8:44Speaker 2: screwed up, I just gave out.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that's important. It's important to bring back giving up.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Do you ever send a voice note?
- 8:52Speaker 3: Yes, I love a voice note. Although I was in
- 8:54Speaker 3: another problematic relationship brag. This one was with a woman,
- 8:59Speaker 3: so even when men can be bad, and she did
- 9:05Speaker 3: not like more than a minute long voice note, to
- 9:09Speaker 3: the point of saying, I won't listen past a minute.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, even if it's got a great hook. Yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 2: what if it's exciting, I.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Know, and like what if I can get you on
- 9:20Speaker 3: the phone, do you know what I mean? And I'm
- 9:21Speaker 3: not great at texting, and I don't I don't love
- 9:23Speaker 3: a text conversation because you can't hear like the emotion
- 9:28Speaker 3: in like what's going on? So to me that that
- 9:33Speaker 3: was an act of terrorism, it's a domestic act of terrorism.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Because I was then immediately I'll change myself because again
- 9:42Speaker 3: I'm Midwestern, and so I was like, okay, absolutely, whatever
- 9:45Speaker 3: you say is probably the right way to date, you know,
- 9:48Speaker 3: And so then I was just editing myself down. But
- 9:51Speaker 3: I love a long voice note because I listened.
- 9:54Speaker 2: To podcasts right. It is just kind of like a
- 9:56Speaker 2: free podcast.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's a podcast by your friend.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yes, a very personal right there for you? What a
- 10:03Speaker 2: dream this? My one pushback on a voice note is well,
- 10:06Speaker 2: it's not even that, it's just if it is over
- 10:07Speaker 2: a minute long. Yeah, the person just has to then
- 10:10Speaker 2: expect me to listen to it whenever. It could be
- 10:13Speaker 2: a day before I get back to you.
- 10:14Speaker 3: No, it can be. I think that it can be
- 10:16Speaker 3: a week, because I have a friend who will send
- 10:19Speaker 3: me like seven minute long voice notes like and she'll
- 10:22Speaker 3: maybe some like three in a row, and I save
- 10:25Speaker 3: those and I go, okay, I'm going to catch up
- 10:27Speaker 3: with my good friend Leah once I have like a
- 10:30Speaker 3: little coffee break.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you cannot put an urgent question or anything in
- 10:34Speaker 2: a voice note because you're just going to hear from
- 10:36Speaker 2: me days from now. Yes, and there are certain friends
- 10:39Speaker 2: for all again and I'm just be like.
- 10:42Speaker 3: You, oh sure, name names, first and last addresses. Thank you.
- 10:48Speaker 2: But then there are other other friends from like what
- 10:51Speaker 2: a gift. I've gotten a little fun present from them.
- 10:53Speaker 2: I know this will be entertaining. They have a story
- 10:55Speaker 2: to tell.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Absolutely. I love like gossip. Also in a voice note,
- 10:59Speaker 3: because dangerous because mine automatically says.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Oh, how do you do that? This is what I need?
- 11:05Speaker 3: It's in settings somewhere. Oh, because when I have a crush,
- 11:10Speaker 3: I will open up like sort of the voice note,
- 11:13Speaker 3: like I'll open up that mode of communication to see
- 11:17Speaker 3: like is it going to be taken? Like are you
- 11:18Speaker 3: going to send one back? And then you can see
- 11:21Speaker 3: if they've saved it. But then I did have a
- 11:26Speaker 3: crush who had the settings on that saved every single
- 11:29Speaker 3: voice note. So I really read into that and I
- 11:31Speaker 3: was like, oh my god, she wants it. She's saving
- 11:34Speaker 3: all my bos notes. And she was like, oh no,
- 11:36Speaker 3: I'm doing that with everyone in a heap.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like, oh shit, but this is great.
- 11:42Speaker 2: You're a journalist in this way saving all of these notes.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I could become a journalist. Yes, save all of this gossip.
- 11:48Speaker 3: And then you have stuff on people.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Right, they're all just vanishing. I could have. I could
- 11:52Speaker 2: have blackmail on everyone in my life at this point.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I mean truly. And that's that's friendship. Okay, she solved
- 11:58Speaker 3: love and now we're solving friendship. Friendship is blackmail. Love
- 12:02Speaker 3: is a nightmare. Friendship is blackmail.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Anyway, blackmail is making sure they're in your life and
- 12:08Speaker 2: that you're interacting with each other at high stakes, and
- 12:12Speaker 2: I think that that's fun and emotional.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I agree with you. We are on the same page here.
- 12:17Speaker 2: You're deepening the relationship by threatening them and getting things
- 12:20Speaker 2: out of them.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Yeah. And I don't know why I don't have a
- 12:22Speaker 3: lot of friends.
- 12:27Speaker 2: What's going on in your life? What's exciting for you
- 12:30Speaker 2: right now?
- 12:30Speaker 3: Oh gosh, well, I'm actually about to go on tour
- 12:33Speaker 3: and we're going to go to Salt Lake City.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Oh, where are you going in Salt Lake Totally? That's
- 12:39Speaker 2: a great name for a club. Actually club totally.
- 12:42Speaker 3: I should absolutely know the answer to this. But it's big, big.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Normally I think a music venue.
- 12:53Speaker 2: The Energy Solutions Arena, Yes it is. I think that's
- 12:57Speaker 2: what it's called.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Now.
- 12:58Speaker 2: That's where the Touch has play.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Oh okay, it.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Used to be called the Delta Center, and then I
- 13:02Speaker 2: think some sort of nuclear waste facility took over, which
- 13:05Speaker 2: we loved it.
- 13:06Speaker 3: That's actually where we're performing, and we're performing there. They
- 13:09Speaker 3: put us there. But I want to know, like, are
- 13:11Speaker 3: there a lot of gay people in Salt Lake City?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yes?
- 13:14Speaker 3: Okay, cool?
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yes, I am friends of the podcast, Jordan Myrick and
- 13:20Speaker 2: Kendall Landreth. I love Salt Lake City.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I love them and I was actually and you heard
- 13:25Speaker 3: it here first, folks, because I have not actually asked them,
- 13:28Speaker 3: but I wanted to take them to Salt Lake City.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Good because they're married, and then I could either date
- 13:35Speaker 3: them both individually.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Or totally very solid.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Well that Oh, I didn't even put that together. Oh wow,
- 13:45Speaker 3: that's the concept of the show that I do. I
- 13:48Speaker 3: go on like these mock dates.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Oh I like this, Yeah, I like this. No, there
- 13:52Speaker 2: are a lot of gay people, and there are a
- 13:54Speaker 2: lot of people in Salt Lake Proper who are who
- 13:57Speaker 2: want their great audiences. They love they want town. Yeah,
- 14:03Speaker 2: it's like a it's a breath of fresh air.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I've heard you know, you go to concerts growing up
- 14:09Speaker 2: or whatever, and bands will be like you, guys, like,
- 14:11Speaker 2: we haven't seen an audience like this, and you're like, oh,
- 14:13Speaker 2: I'm sure, and then you get out of the state
- 14:15Speaker 2: and you still hear that about Utah.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, I'm.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Not setting you up for a disappointment.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I know you might be, but we're doing like we're
- 14:22Speaker 3: doing a show in La and in La it is
- 14:25Speaker 3: hard to perform, and so I feel like anything outside
- 14:27Speaker 3: of LA will be a treat.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Oh my god, you feel like the Beatles.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Not to ship on LA. It's just that there's so
- 14:34Speaker 3: much like talent here, and so many people who need
- 14:37Speaker 3: to finish their screenplay.
- 14:40Speaker 2: They need to and we are rooting for them.
- 14:43Speaker 3: And I want you to finish your screenplay and I
- 14:45Speaker 3: want you to cast me in it.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Okay, So like whatever, No, this is not a not
- 14:50Speaker 2: a super thrilling town to do live anything. Everyone is
- 14:55Speaker 2: maybe if you're a musician. I don't even think that
- 14:57Speaker 2: I go to.
- 14:59Speaker 3: People here, I know, don't they want to be seen?
- 15:01Speaker 3: Like I imagine how people just want to be seen
- 15:05Speaker 3: listening to music.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I believe that a uh No. I I'll sometimes go
- 15:15Speaker 2: to a concert and I feel bad for the band
- 15:16Speaker 2: because I'm like, and the venue will be pretty fold,
- 15:19Speaker 2: but everyone's such a dud. Yeah, La people are dud guys.
- 15:24Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't get it. Yeah, And then
- 15:26Speaker 2: I feel like I'm taking on a lot of the
- 15:28Speaker 2: work clapping.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Oh, I'm I'm the most enthusiastic audience number even at
- 15:33Speaker 3: like comedy shows, because I'm like, I came here for
- 15:36Speaker 3: a reason, and it wasn't to cross my arms and
- 15:38Speaker 3: be angry.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I do that everywhere else exactly.
- 15:41Speaker 3: I could be at home doing that now.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I'm if I'm with somebody who dragged me there, different
- 15:48Speaker 2: might be a different story. And I'm trying to prove
- 15:50Speaker 2: a point to the performer and my friend and I'm
- 15:53Speaker 2: a real dud.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:55Speaker 2: So, but I think you're gonna have such a good
- 15:56Speaker 2: time in Salt Lake, and there's some good food there.
- 15:59Speaker 2: It's what time of you are you going?
- 16:00Speaker 3: We're going May twentieth.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Oh, it's going to be so beautiful. You should try
- 16:05Speaker 2: to stop. Buy something called I think it's called Gilgal Gardens.
- 16:08Speaker 2: It's like weird. It's like this little free park with
- 16:12Speaker 2: very strange art. Okay, it's almost indescribable. But there's like
- 16:16Speaker 2: a sphinx with Joseph Smith's face on it. Oh yeah,
- 16:19Speaker 2: I'm going it's worth stopping for sure.
- 16:23Speaker 3: I'll walk through.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Okay, Well, I'm excited for you. Are you driving on
- 16:26Speaker 2: tour flying?
- 16:27Speaker 3: I also don't know the answer to that.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Oh my god, I know.
- 16:30Speaker 3: I keep trying to get in touch with the powers
- 16:32Speaker 3: that be, and they're like, well, we'll sett a call
- 16:36Speaker 3: and so it's a mystery, but it's a fun mystery.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, wait till the last minute.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Who cares?
- 16:42Speaker 2: You're like a road trip.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I wouldn't say that.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I like a road okay.
- 16:46Speaker 3: But I'm also like, if that's the vibe of the
- 16:49Speaker 3: whole tour. I'm committing. I'm committing to a theme and
- 16:53Speaker 3: so I can really get into like, well, the theme
- 16:56Speaker 3: is road trip.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think you could do not tour without
- 17:01Speaker 2: being excited about it being a road trip. Yeah, because
- 17:04Speaker 2: that would be agony.
- 17:05Speaker 3: I'm not alone also, so that's good. I have like
- 17:08Speaker 3: a little bing bong with me, a b a big bong,
- 17:12Speaker 3: you know, like that little like a little clown you
- 17:14Speaker 3: bring with you everywhere. She's a human woman. Her name
- 17:18Speaker 3: is her name is Calin Mahoney. She's very talented, but
- 17:22Speaker 3: she like sits on stage with me and we do
- 17:24Speaker 3: like a little thing together. So and so she's going
- 17:27Speaker 3: to be at every show. So I wouldn't be driving
- 17:29Speaker 3: by myself, and I feel like that would be hell
- 17:33Speaker 3: for me.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I'm not sure if he likes.
- 17:34Speaker 3: To be by yourself.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I like being on the open road, listening to music.
- 17:38Speaker 2: My mind's wandering. I'm drifting through towns.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I can't have my mind wander too much. Again, it's
- 17:47Speaker 3: a nightmare.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Where else are you going on tour?
- 17:50Speaker 3: We're going to uh, Phoenix, Arizona. Okay, I'll name them backwards.
- 17:56Speaker 3: We're going to the Phoenix. Then we're gonna be in
- 17:59Speaker 3: Sandy Diego, La, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver.
- 18:08Speaker 2: But we start in Vancouver, Oh, and then get like
- 18:12Speaker 2: to Phoenix.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I would imagine that we would fly to pix Well,
- 18:16Speaker 3: Phoenix is the largest venue that they booked us. Yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 3: and that is also my face. So I really hope
- 18:25Speaker 3: there's a lot of gay people in Phoenix, right.
- 18:28Speaker 2: I guess we just have to allow cities to surprise.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Us absolutely, and if there's not, then it will be
- 18:34Speaker 3: just like an intimate It will be an intimate show
- 18:37Speaker 3: in a huge space.
- 18:39Speaker 2: It'll be like meeting one person in their mansion probably here.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Special and we'll use this space. We'll run around, you know,
- 18:49Speaker 3: it'll be gym class.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Actually, have you been to Phoenix before?
- 18:53Speaker 3: Hmmm, I don't remember. We drove My brother and I
- 18:58Speaker 3: drove from Chicago to LA during sort of a chaotic
- 19:02Speaker 3: time in our lives, so I don't quite know the
- 19:05Speaker 3: route that we took, right, but we went through Arizona.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, my guess is you did not go through Phoenix.
- 19:11Speaker 2: You would know, Yeah, you would know you'd been through Phoenix.
- 19:15Speaker 3: My brain was somewhere else. It was outside my body.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I've been through. I've been to Phoenix. I've been through
- 19:20Speaker 2: the airport. The airport is an exciting thing because you
- 19:22Speaker 2: look out and it really is like cartoon desert. It
- 19:25Speaker 2: really feels so fascinating to look at.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Ok.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Then and you also know I don't have to stay here. Yes,
- 19:30Speaker 2: and again, I'm sure there's plenty of wonderful things about Phoenix.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I've heard good things, and I'm trying to people
- 19:37Speaker 3: who have left.
- 19:41Speaker 2: There's something good and something horrible about really any city.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Yeah, we shot. We shot upon the city that we
- 19:46Speaker 3: live in. So, like all the time, there's something that
- 19:49Speaker 3: will deter you from being in a place, no matter.
- 19:52Speaker 2: What, right, And I feel like I'm like hyper sensitive
- 19:55Speaker 2: to it because growing up in Utah was like I mean,
- 19:57Speaker 2: it's like outside of New Jersey, like number one by
- 19:59Speaker 2: the jokes on every piece of entertainment. So I'm like
- 20:03Speaker 2: I try to be cautious about making fun of other
- 20:06Speaker 2: people's cities and then I fail and make fun of them.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Yeah, well, that's okay, you're getting back, you're getting back
- 20:13Speaker 3: at all.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, speaking of getting back at things and revenge
- 20:19Speaker 2: and people making mistakes, I was looking forward to having
- 20:22Speaker 2: you here on the podcast, and I'm not going to retaliate.
- 20:27Speaker 2: The podcast is called I said, no gifts. Yes, I
- 20:31Speaker 2: imagine you were aware of that, at least on your
- 20:33Speaker 2: drive here. So I was a little surprised when you
- 20:38Speaker 2: kind of waltz into the studio holding not one, but
- 20:42Speaker 2: two gifts.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, Bolt.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Okay, are these gifts for me? They are?
- 20:49Speaker 3: But I told you at the beginning of this.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yes, I love I don't know how that happened, but
- 20:54Speaker 2: half of the studio.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Displays I'm alit.
- 21:01Speaker 2: It was me. This is the thrill for a video viewer.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Yes, I said, how dare you criticize me?
- 21:10Speaker 2: We're going to review the footage and see what you
- 21:12Speaker 2: were actually doing. Right. Wow?
- 21:15Speaker 3: Do we reset or do we just keep going?
- 21:17Speaker 2: No, we stop down. We have a whole crew come
- 21:21Speaker 2: in and I'm gonna leave. We'll start recording again in Yeah.
- 21:26Speaker 3: No, I told you at the beginning of this that
- 21:29Speaker 3: I like to dig myself out of a hole, and
- 21:31Speaker 3: I was thinking, how do I put myself in that hole? Well,
- 21:33Speaker 3: i'll go against the name of the podcasts.
- 21:37Speaker 2: You like to dig yourself out of a hole? Okay,
- 21:40Speaker 2: we'll see. Should we open them here on the podcast?
- 21:42Speaker 3: I think so we should start with the more colorful Dad.
- 21:48Speaker 2: What a fun little bag. It's got kind of like
- 21:50Speaker 2: a fun pattern. It's gonna make a good pair of
- 21:52Speaker 2: pants or shorts.
- 21:54Speaker 3: For a tiny, tiny person.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Oh, look at that looks like a cute little skirt.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Actually a little for my dolls there, dolls. Okay, I'm
- 22:03Speaker 2: reaching in.
- 22:04Speaker 3: It's a hodgepodge. And you might say, Catherine, did you
- 22:07Speaker 3: even think about these things?
- 22:08Speaker 2: Are there are several things in here?
- 22:10Speaker 3: Yes? Okay?
- 22:10Speaker 2: Should I pull them out one at a time?
- 22:11Speaker 3: Yeah? Okay, okay, because I thought like that's dumb.
- 22:20Speaker 2: No, I think this is good. This is a piece
- 22:22Speaker 2: of your merchant's pretty gay on.
- 22:23Speaker 3: It and you actually can't buy it because we stopped
- 22:26Speaker 3: making it, so.
- 22:28Speaker 2: This is limited. Okay, I'll get on eBay now, Okay,
- 22:32Speaker 2: let's keep pulling out for a moment here. Yeah, women
- 22:36Speaker 2: support women, Okay.
- 22:37Speaker 3: I have a lot of stickers and I'm constantly buying
- 22:42Speaker 3: little stickers because in my head they're good gifts like socks,
- 22:46Speaker 3: but they're actually not.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I would push back on that. I would say
- 22:51Speaker 2: a sticker is maybe something like in the card of
- 22:55Speaker 2: another gift.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Absolutely yeah, But I said no, I said full gift.
- 22:59Speaker 3: And so a creator reached out to me with I
- 23:03Speaker 3: believe this person is getting a divorce or something. They
- 23:05Speaker 3: really went into it, and I believe it and I
- 23:07Speaker 3: love that. But they're trying to rebuild their business, and
- 23:10Speaker 3: they said, will you please buy stickers from me? And
- 23:12Speaker 3: I said, of course I will, And then I instantly
- 23:15Speaker 3: forgot that I did that.
- 23:17Speaker 2: How do they get in touch with you?
- 23:19Speaker 3: And I got Instagram because this godless? They're all this.
- 23:25Speaker 2: This is a star that says women deserve better?
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, okay, And I wanted you to know that.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Where does this sticker go better?
- 23:37Speaker 4: The White House?
- 23:39Speaker 3: I said, I would be screaming on this podcast and
- 23:41Speaker 3: I delivered. Yeah, so mail that to whoever you think
- 23:46Speaker 3: needs it.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I'm going to put this on the inside of a
- 23:49Speaker 2: men's bathroom stall. Yes, good reminder.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Hey guys, Yeah, women deserve better? Yeah.
- 23:56Speaker 3: An Ally, I'm an ally, and.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I'm going to set these Oh no, I'm not going
- 24:00Speaker 2: to set them back. Okay, Oh there are more.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Okay, so and there's another.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Let's be very clear. So far, I've disagreed with every
- 24:09Speaker 2: single one of these stickers. This women are power.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Yeah you said no, No they're not.
- 24:13Speaker 2: We're saying no to that.
- 24:15Speaker 3: No they're not. If they were, we wouldn't share on
- 24:17Speaker 3: them so much.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Now this is a sticker. This is born and Raised.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Yeah, and that is I am from Chicago. Yeah, that's
- 24:24Speaker 3: the Chicago flag. That is Yeah. I wanted you to
- 24:27Speaker 3: have a little piece of me.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Wait, so the Chicago flag says born and Raised on it?
- 24:31Speaker 3: No? No, no, just the stars?
- 24:32Speaker 2: Oh, just the stars. So this is baffling.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, where did you get this? I would say,
- 24:40Speaker 3: if I were being honest and aunt give it. Interesting,
- 24:43Speaker 3: that's actually a regift and.
- 24:45Speaker 2: The stickers run in the family.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Then I guess I guess maybe that's where I get it.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Are you getting back to Chicago that often?
- 24:52Speaker 4: Not?
- 24:53Speaker 3: No, I mean probably every other Christmas?
- 24:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:56Speaker 3: And then whenever I go, like I like to go
- 24:59Speaker 3: to see the people who might die soon? Right, Oh?
- 25:01Speaker 2: Interesting, and you have to so they do that is
- 25:04Speaker 2: it like a warning sign to people who you're visiting
- 25:06Speaker 2: in Chicago. They're like five.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Times thow it is now, honey. But I have a
- 25:12Speaker 3: lot of family that is still in Chicago, including my mom,
- 25:16Speaker 3: and I like her a lot.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, it's a decent reason to visit a city.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Liking your mom.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I always schedule a show when I'm there, so
- 25:24Speaker 3: she is always like, you couldn't just visit, and I'm like, no,
- 25:28Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I also have to make money. I'm an entrepreneur.
- 25:34Speaker 2: That would be a waste of time to just visit
- 25:36Speaker 2: with a I don't think so. I did a live
- 25:40Speaker 2: show there last year and had a wonderful time, but
- 25:41Speaker 2: I kind of let myself down.
- 25:43Speaker 3: You did a live show at the same time I
- 25:46Speaker 3: was doing a live show in Chicago.
- 25:47Speaker 2: In Chicago, we were.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Dueling, Yes, we were dueling. No, your guest also has
- 25:54Speaker 3: red hair.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Oh brendan'scanel.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Yes.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Yes, I love.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Brendon exact the live show you were talking about, Yes,
- 26:00Speaker 3: because we did a show at the Lincoln Lodge and
- 26:03Speaker 3: he hit me up to do stand up on that show.
- 26:06Speaker 2: And did he Yeah, he did, and he was to night.
- 26:09Speaker 3: I think he was going to yours or coming he
- 26:13Speaker 3: was going to yours after because he came to mine.
- 26:15Speaker 2: He had ninety or something, yes, and he had been
- 26:18Speaker 2: to dinner and he brought me as the gift his leftovers.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 26:22Speaker 2: The chicken was already dry.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Where was it from?
- 26:27Speaker 2: Like a famous Greek place? I can't remember. I let
- 26:30Speaker 2: myself down in Chicago because I only went to essentially
- 26:32Speaker 2: one restaurant the entire because I just didn't want to
- 26:36Speaker 2: stray from the area that I was staying.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Where were you staying?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Great question, it's kind of cool, and there's a good
- 26:43Speaker 2: bakery and Lincoln Park.
- 26:47Speaker 3: There's a lot of like cool.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I would remember Lincoln Park. I wish I could remember anything.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I just went to that, the Hamburger place, a bunch
- 26:55Speaker 2: oh cheval or small chival.
- 26:58Speaker 3: You would think that I would know all the famous places.
- 27:00Speaker 2: You've been gone for a while.
- 27:01Speaker 3: I've been gone for a while. And also I'm allergic
- 27:03Speaker 3: to everything fun, so I don't know good food none
- 27:07Speaker 3: at all. No, I can't have like gluten because I'm siliac.
- 27:10Speaker 3: You can a dairy. I choose not to eat red
- 27:13Speaker 3: meat because I'm annoying. And then like I can't have
- 27:18Speaker 3: like a smattering of other things like beans or peanuts.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Oh my god. Yeah, but I feel like my sister Celiac,
- 27:25Speaker 2: and there's a world of enjoying food within Celiac especially.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I feel like with a lot of like Asian food, Yes,
- 27:32Speaker 2: like Mexican food, you can get. I can get decent
- 27:35Speaker 2: Celiac friendly stuff.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Yes, it's like the beans and the cheese really get me.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Oh okay, But you can get a great taco or cud.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Che yes, absolutely absolutely. And then you have Indian food,
- 27:47Speaker 2: Thai food. I feel like there's all kinds.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Of options there are. If you're willing to be annoying
- 27:52Speaker 3: and ask a bunch.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Of questions, you kind of have to commit to being annoyed.
- 27:56Speaker 3: You do, yeah, and that's you.
- 27:58Speaker 2: That's a power you have over other people. Oh, thank
- 28:00Speaker 2: you for being irritating. Okay, I think you should take that.
- 28:04Speaker 3: I'll take that. Yeah, I'll take that as a compliment. Absolutely.
- 28:08Speaker 2: If you can be irritating in particular situations, no one
- 28:11Speaker 2: can do anything against it.
- 28:13Speaker 3: No, because I guess to be like, it's an allergy.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Yes, exactly. You need to own that.
- 28:18Speaker 3: It's an allergy. And I did insist on coming to
- 28:21Speaker 3: this burger place, psycho.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Okay, let's keep going there.
- 28:26Speaker 3: One more thing there is, let's see. Okay, so that
- 28:29Speaker 3: is something that I made on a date.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Whoa, it's like a miniature sushi plate.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Yes. So I went over to this girl's house and
- 28:39Speaker 3: she had crafts set up for us to do, and
- 28:42Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, I'm all in on this, and
- 28:46Speaker 3: I just didn't I don't know like how to use that.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Like I did try to incorporate it into like a
- 28:51Speaker 3: hairstyle once I made a couple of those.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Okay, but oh so is it like a hair clip?
- 28:57Speaker 3: No, I wouldn't use it as that, Okay, but I
- 28:59Speaker 3: think it's just like a little clip because it opens,
- 29:02Speaker 3: which is which is kind of like kishe k.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Kitch kitchen just so ciche. This is very keiche.
- 29:13Speaker 3: So I don't know. I threw that in there just
- 29:15Speaker 3: as a wild card because I was like, what if
- 29:17Speaker 3: he hates stickers, you know, he hates gifts, what if
- 29:20Speaker 3: he hates stickers? And this is something I made with
- 29:22Speaker 3: my bare hand.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out how you made this?
- 29:27Speaker 3: Like, okay, so what actually it is is she had
- 29:31Speaker 3: all these little things that like you get in like
- 29:34Speaker 3: a mystery pack and you don't know what's inside, and
- 29:37Speaker 3: it's those like little little guys. So the little sushi guy, right,
- 29:42Speaker 3: there's also like a little taco and like all little
- 29:45Speaker 3: foods and then you just glue it onto. Oh yeah,
- 29:49Speaker 3: really simple. It's just hot. It's just hot glue. So
- 29:54Speaker 3: I didn't like paint, but no, I'm not like making
- 29:57Speaker 3: the little plastic sushi.
- 29:59Speaker 2: No, I was imagining was a very different thing.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Yeah, And so we just made like a bunch of those.
- 30:05Speaker 2: It's still fun.
- 30:06Speaker 3: It was a really fun date.
- 30:07Speaker 2: I'm not entirely sure, like what because it's like on
- 30:10Speaker 2: a nice little sushi plate and it's like sushimi on rice.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Is that that's what this is? Is course, but then
- 30:17Speaker 2: it's in like a weird warming or like uh like
- 30:20Speaker 2: there's a clear bubble that goes over it, so it's
- 30:23Speaker 2: like a serving dish.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's likeda and I can't really like place
- 30:28Speaker 3: this in the real world outside of miniatures.
- 30:32Speaker 2: I guess maybe like on a whole hotel room floor. Yes, okay, to.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Have a fancy sushi restaurant once where they like put
- 30:40Speaker 3: like smoke inside and then they and then they opened it.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Right so maybe it's that very experimental food or something
- 30:49Speaker 2: and then it can clip onto something.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you're welcome. Hey, you're welcome. It was made with love.
- 30:57Speaker 3: And can you imagine flirting and like trying to like
- 30:59Speaker 3: not get hot glue on your fingers and just being
- 31:02Speaker 3: like no, okay, so yeah, where are you from?
- 31:05Speaker 2: You know, how are you doing? Hot Glue's dangerous? Are
- 31:07Speaker 2: you burning your fingers there?
- 31:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 31:09Speaker 2: Not No, I need a hot glue gun.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Yes, everyone should have one. You can do anything with
- 31:15Speaker 3: hot glow.
- 31:16Speaker 2: You could protect your home.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Absolutely, yeah, sort of. You you do need to like
- 31:21Speaker 3: refill and that that takes a minute.
- 31:25Speaker 2: But I feel like there is like you run into
- 31:27Speaker 2: a lot of things where you could use hot glue
- 31:29Speaker 2: in your house, yes, and then when you don't have
- 31:31Speaker 2: it around, what a bummer? What a bummer?
- 31:34Speaker 3: Yeah? Like how do you fix things?
- 31:36Speaker 1: Right?
- 31:36Speaker 3: It's a toilet handle fell off my glue and.
- 31:39Speaker 2: I love a hot glue stick. Yes, where do you
- 31:42Speaker 2: get those Michaels? Yeah?
- 31:43Speaker 3: I think just at any crafting store.
- 31:45Speaker 2: When was the last time you were in a Michael's.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Hmmm, that's an excellent question. It was definitely this year.
- 31:51Speaker 3: I like crafts, like getting little things, especially for like
- 31:57Speaker 3: the show. U oh sure, yeah, so we'll like yeah,
- 32:01Speaker 3: I don't know, Yeah, I've probably been this year. I
- 32:05Speaker 3: also like typically around Halloween, I'm in a Michael just
- 32:08Speaker 3: wandering right.
- 32:11Speaker 2: I would say Michael's needs to get it together.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah. It's like insane that it still exists, because
- 32:20Speaker 3: you walk in, you go, why is the yard everywhere?
- 32:23Speaker 3: Like nothing makes sense? The aisles are it's like, yeah,
- 32:26Speaker 3: we have jewelry and ale on one, and then we
- 32:29Speaker 3: also have jewelry and nine and ten and the bottom
- 32:32Speaker 3: shelf of twenty nine and you're like the dumpster huh.
- 32:36Speaker 3: And yeah there are like little like carts, like these
- 32:38Speaker 3: metal carts that just have like a bunch of shit
- 32:40Speaker 3: in them, and you're like, what do you.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Mean deciding what goes in the metal carts?
- 32:44Speaker 3: I think it's an employee who doesn't get paid enough,
- 32:47Speaker 3: who is done with their shift and said I needed
- 32:50Speaker 3: to put all of these away. No, no, there's something now, Yeah,
- 32:55Speaker 3: they're in something.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't know when the turn was, because I
- 32:58Speaker 2: feel like there was a period in the last ten
- 33:00Speaker 2: years or so when I could go in Michaels and
- 33:02Speaker 2: things were on the shelves really. Now, I'm like, I'm
- 33:06Speaker 2: wading through things.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Yes, I just felt like Michael's maybe was always like this,
- 33:12Speaker 3: but I was younger. Oh interesting, right, you were more
- 33:16Speaker 3: patience and didn't know how.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Stuff worked, had more hope for the world.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Ye walked in and was like ooh, scavenger hunt. You know.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Well if they took that's what the that's the marketing
- 33:26Speaker 2: angle they should take. See if you can find it.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and if you find everything on your list, you
- 33:32Speaker 3: get like a little.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Prize, you get to buy it.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Yeah, then you get to buy it. Yeah. Okay, so
- 33:40Speaker 3: then this, okay, that's okay. This is what I would
- 33:44Speaker 3: like to call on an excellent Oh my god, it's
- 33:47Speaker 3: the only useful sticker.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Okay, well, okay, disagree. I'm going to put all of
- 33:54Speaker 2: these on my bumper.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Those are just let somebody know that I'm falling apart emotionally. Okay,
- 34:01Speaker 2: let's see pulling this out. Oh, this is such a
- 34:06Speaker 2: useful gift. And it's not just like you found these
- 34:09Speaker 2: in the junk drawer. This is a whole thing.
- 34:12Speaker 3: None of these have been used yet today, none of
- 34:14Speaker 3: them have been used. That would be insane to give
- 34:16Speaker 3: you you.
- 34:17Speaker 2: We should take a look back at our past guests.
- 34:19Speaker 3: But if you look closely, there was one used stamp
- 34:24Speaker 3: and I filled it in with something.
- 34:28Speaker 2: With the Santa. So the rest of the stamps are
- 34:31Speaker 2: beautiful hummingbirds and then and it's the Garden Delights collection
- 34:37Speaker 2: and then Santa, which is kind of will I'll have
- 34:40Speaker 2: to use a hot glue gun to put it on you.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Yeah, which I didn't take it off of an envelope though,
- 34:45Speaker 3: I just took it off of another sheet, so it
- 34:48Speaker 3: hasn't been used. You can still use Santa run a letter.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Because they the way, they make sure they put a
- 34:54Speaker 2: stamp over it so you could tell this is still
- 34:56Speaker 2: a usable I'll save that for the holidays.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Or I mean, I don't know, branch Oh, yes exactly.
- 35:02Speaker 2: You're gonna have Christmas every day you could.
- 35:05Speaker 3: And I want to explain why these gifts feel like
- 35:08Speaker 3: this because I had a plan to get you like
- 35:14Speaker 3: a really fun, weird thing, which was a cameo.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Oh.
- 35:20Speaker 3: I thought, okay, that'll be fun, and then I looked
- 35:23Speaker 3: at cameo and I was like, the people that I
- 35:25Speaker 3: like on cameo way too expensive. Haven't even met this man?
- 35:30Speaker 3: Not dropping two hundred bucks but then I was like, Okay,
- 35:35Speaker 3: it might also be fun to get him the cheapest
- 35:39Speaker 3: cameo oh from a dog. Okay, but the turnaround time
- 35:46Speaker 3: and I had this place, I said, Catherine, it's on
- 35:48Speaker 3: the to do list. It's on the to do list,
- 35:50Speaker 3: and I did it last night, so it didn't I
- 35:55Speaker 3: don't think it delivered, but you will be getting that.
- 35:58Speaker 3: But can I read to the one of the most
- 36:01Speaker 3: psychotic prompts that it gave me?
- 36:03Speaker 2: Please? Okay, who's running the dog's cameo account?
- 36:07Speaker 3: I would imagine the owner?
- 36:08Speaker 2: Yeah, or is it like one of these things where
- 36:10Speaker 2: the dog calls nine to one to one. It's like, yeah,
- 36:14Speaker 2: the dog has created a cameo for itself.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just really really smart.
- 36:18Speaker 2: So they're giving you prompts to give to the dog.
- 36:21Speaker 3: So how can Okay, let me see if I can
- 36:23Speaker 3: pull up my cameo because I did have to also
- 36:26Speaker 3: like make an account.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I've never ordered a cameo. I I guess I
- 36:32Speaker 2: should get into them so support some people who are
- 36:35Speaker 2: falling apart.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Yeah, cameo has slid into my DMS no less than
- 36:40Speaker 3: five thousand times to be like you should be on
- 36:43Speaker 3: cameo and I'm like, I really shouldn't.
- 36:46Speaker 2: I'm not there yet. Leave me alone.
- 36:48Speaker 3: I really can't be doing that. I don't have a
- 36:50Speaker 3: ton of service. But I did take a screenshot of
- 36:52Speaker 3: what I wanted to share, so instead I will do that. Okay, great, Okay,
- 36:57Speaker 3: So you can and who it's for, and then you
- 37:02Speaker 3: write in why you're getting the cameo so it can
- 37:04Speaker 3: be like birthday, anniversary, cute little note, and then one
- 37:08Speaker 3: of the things is pep talk. I said, obviously, that's
- 37:12Speaker 3: what I'm gonna choose, and then this is for it
- 37:17Speaker 3: was going to be a Wiener dog to deliver this cameo.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Now I looked at the I looked at the examples
- 37:24Speaker 3: of the cameos that this Wiener dog has done, and
- 37:26Speaker 3: it's a lot of like a Wiener dog on a
- 37:28Speaker 3: bed sort of walking across a note, which is really great.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Like the owner has like scribbled out the message on
- 37:36Speaker 2: a note.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Yeah, but imagine this is this cost me three dollars,
- 37:40Speaker 3: So like that's correct, okay, and it's not a famous dog,
- 37:44Speaker 3: not yet, okay, So then you can go in and
- 37:51Speaker 3: give instructions to the dog on like what this person
- 37:55Speaker 3: needs a pep talk okay, but it gives you a
- 37:57Speaker 3: little prompt and it says, like an exam ample might
- 38:00Speaker 3: be my stepdad is feeling instacure about being a good
- 38:03Speaker 3: role model. Remind him how lucky we are to have
- 38:07Speaker 3: him in our lives.
- 38:10Speaker 2: What's going on in that?
- 38:13Speaker 3: Devastating to like be going through something and then get
- 38:16Speaker 3: a cameo from a wiener dog being like, you're a
- 38:21Speaker 3: good role model, stepdad?
- 38:23Speaker 2: Stepdad's ready to leave.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like absolutely not. I'm feeling myself today.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Do you know what's happening? I know it is so dark.
- 38:32Speaker 3: I know.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Why couldn't the propt just be like we're having a
- 38:35Speaker 2: big game.
- 38:36Speaker 3: Yes, we're having a big game and I want him
- 38:39Speaker 3: to do a great job.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Why did it have to be a family falling apart?
- 38:43Speaker 3: It always is, It's always a family falling apart. So
- 38:47Speaker 3: I will send that to you.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Okay, please, I'm so excited about that. What else can
- 38:51Speaker 2: you could you do? Like a court summons with a cameo?
- 38:53Speaker 2: I bet you no, that probably has to be in person.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Oh right, yeah, you have to be like, right, somebody
- 39:02Speaker 3: served their wife like in a very public way.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Oh yes, actor this happened, Ah, yes, Jason Jis while
- 39:12Speaker 2: she was on stage being an award or something.
- 39:15Speaker 3: It was a shit move.
- 39:17Speaker 2: That was really a wile.
- 39:19Speaker 3: It was you got to be like, you have to
- 39:21Speaker 3: get over the fact that she cheated on you with
- 39:23Speaker 3: whatever Harry styles.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Is that what happened.
- 39:26Speaker 3: No, I'm starting that rumor today right now.
- 39:29Speaker 2: This is so weird. I was just thinking about that
- 39:31Speaker 2: weird movie oh that.
- 39:33Speaker 3: They did together. They were together at some point, but
- 39:37Speaker 3: I don't think there was any kind of cheating scandal.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Okay, but there's the movie where they're all in the desert,
- 39:41Speaker 2: but then they're in the matrix or something.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it. That's it. But then there's Housewives.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Yes, there's that kind of a like a mid century
- 39:49Speaker 2: housewives feel, but they are also in the matrix.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but they're like dolls being like fed at home
- 39:56Speaker 3: or something. I don't know.
- 40:00Speaker 2: It I watched it.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I did. I saw it on my television.
- 40:06Speaker 2: I guess I need to see it. This actually sounds
- 40:08Speaker 2: wonderful to me.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it was interesting. But again, if this
- 40:13Speaker 3: is how I'm describing it. However, Olivia Wild, if you
- 40:21Speaker 3: want to work with me, I think your ex husband
- 40:23Speaker 3: did a shitty thing.
- 40:25Speaker 2: But Jason ted Lasso reached out.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Sometimes people cheat.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Relationships are complicated.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Oblgated their nightmare. We said it earlier.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Our spouses are going on stage, they're receiving awards, they're
- 40:41Speaker 2: directing Harry Styles.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and you can't say no to Harry.
- 40:45Speaker 2: No, no one can say no to Harry.
- 40:47Speaker 3: I would. I have a Harry Styles story which you
- 40:51Speaker 3: may or may not need to edit this out just
- 40:53Speaker 3: because you might be like you're being mean and stupid.
- 40:57Speaker 2: I support that.
- 40:59Speaker 3: So I I got to go to SNL because I
- 41:02Speaker 3: was dating somebody who was a director who like knew
- 41:05Speaker 3: somebody whatever, it didn't matter. We went to and they
- 41:09Speaker 3: were like shadowing this director, and so we went to
- 41:13Speaker 3: the taping and Harry Styles, I think was the musical guest.
- 41:18Speaker 3: But I am so out of it, like I didn't
- 41:22Speaker 3: what part of what one direction was he one direction? Okay,
- 41:26Speaker 3: so I think it was Harry by himself, or maybe
- 41:28Speaker 3: it was one direction. I don't know. This is a
- 41:31Speaker 3: long time ago, but they were singing that watermelon song
- 41:36Speaker 3: where it's just like they just say like watermelon over
- 41:38Speaker 3: and over and over again, watermelon, watermelon, water melon, watermelon.
- 41:43Speaker 3: I got the giggles because I was like, there's no
- 41:46Speaker 3: way this is a real song. This is so stupid,
- 41:50Speaker 3: and so I'm losing my mind laughing. My partner horrified,
- 41:57Speaker 3: is like kicking me, being like you're being so inappropriate.
- 41:59Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, we're at a comedy show. So just because,
- 42:03Speaker 3: just because the musical guest was where I laughed the most.
- 42:07Speaker 2: Sign But it was like watermelon, watermelon, watermelon.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Watermelon, watermelon. I think I don't know. I think it's
- 42:15Speaker 3: it's watermelon sugar.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Oh okay, yes, this is starting to seem like something
- 42:19Speaker 2: I've heard.
- 42:20Speaker 3: It is popular, but I never heard it before. And
- 42:22Speaker 3: then obviously after that I had heard it like on
- 42:25Speaker 3: the radio.
- 42:25Speaker 2: And I was favorite song.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Yeah, and now it was my wedding song. I danced
- 42:31Speaker 3: down the aisle to it watermelon modelmeon, but I was like,
- 42:35Speaker 3: this is stupid, right, come on. There were like no lyrics,
- 42:39Speaker 3: It's just watermelon.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Women deserve better.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Hey, the sticker said it first born and raised women
- 42:47Speaker 3: deserve better.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon, watermelon. So did he confront you? Were
- 42:52Speaker 2: you confronted by Harry after the show?
- 42:54Speaker 3: No? Unfortunately, not famous enough. Yeah, it doesn't care at all,
- 43:01Speaker 3: but send this to him.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Clip this Harry Styles reach out, Yeah.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Reach out. I have beef with a few music music
- 43:07Speaker 3: else Okay ed Cheran, Okay, correct, I think that Ed
- 43:11Speaker 3: Cheron should pay me money.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Why should he pay you money?
- 43:14Speaker 3: Okay, it's crazy that he's still.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Relevant number one still ever, but.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Also like congrats, you know, you know how to do
- 43:21Speaker 3: your career. He got on I guess he got on
- 43:25Speaker 3: Game of Thrones.
- 43:26Speaker 2: You Oh, he was kind of probably maybe a low
- 43:29Speaker 2: point in his career to be on Game the show,
- 43:33Speaker 2: wouldn't you say? Oh sure, I certainly were watching that
- 43:36Speaker 2: guy sing And what was he singing? I'm pretty sure
- 43:39Speaker 2: he's saying.
- 43:40Speaker 3: I don't know, Yeah he was singing. Oh he was singing.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Was he like a main character?
- 43:45Speaker 2: No, he was just like somebody around a fire or something.
- 43:49Speaker 3: I think, Oh, whatever, So he he owes me money
- 43:55Speaker 3: because my father passed away. Not the point of the story, okay,
- 43:59Speaker 3: But it was a little bit sudden, but we got
- 44:02Speaker 3: to be there when he did it. Yes, when he
- 44:06Speaker 3: did it, when he decided bye bye. No, but when
- 44:10Speaker 3: it happens, you're sort of like caught off guard, unless
- 44:13Speaker 3: it's like planned and the person's like just so old.
- 44:16Speaker 3: I didn't quite know what to do. Everyone's crying, it's
- 44:19Speaker 3: the whole thing. It was like the middle of the night,
- 44:22Speaker 3: you know, I decided to pull out my phone and
- 44:27Speaker 3: I played an Ed Sharance song. You might ask why,
- 44:32Speaker 3: and that is a great question. Yeah, I was like,
- 44:36Speaker 3: we got to make sure he's dead. So it was
- 44:40Speaker 3: because it had been like this song was on the
- 44:42Speaker 3: radio a few times when and some of my last
- 44:46Speaker 3: memories with my dad were riding in the car and
- 44:50Speaker 3: this song was praying. But we had no ties to
- 44:54Speaker 3: the song, right, Like it was just popular at the time.
- 44:59Speaker 3: And also so a small part of me was like,
- 45:02Speaker 3: we should play something you want to like sort of
- 45:05Speaker 3: cut the tension. It was a it was a love song,
- 45:08Speaker 3: so it's a it was a weird choice, and I thought, well,
- 45:12Speaker 3: for sure, this will be popular for another year and
- 45:15Speaker 3: it will go away forever. Right No, acheron, it keeps
- 45:19Speaker 3: making music and this song keeps being played at every
- 45:22Speaker 3: single fucking wedding. No, it's like the one where it's
- 45:26Speaker 3: like I'll be I'll love you until you're seventy, like
- 45:29Speaker 3: that one, and it's it's like my dad died so
- 45:32Speaker 3: much sooner than seventy. It was like such, I was
- 45:36Speaker 3: like trolling my dad and his last breath, being like, hah,
- 45:41Speaker 3: not gonna love you when you're seventy. It didn't make
- 45:43Speaker 3: it at you. Yeah, so I just have been terrorized.
- 45:48Speaker 3: I had Sharon since then.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Well, you're going to boring people's weddings. It's your fault.
- 45:53Speaker 2: But straight people, Yeah, straight people, you've got to stop
- 45:56Speaker 2: going to straight weddings.
- 45:57Speaker 3: I okay, more gay people need to get married. Don't
- 46:00Speaker 3: take away all right yet? Okay, not yet. I need
- 46:04Speaker 3: to go to more of your weddings, right, But it is.
- 46:07Speaker 3: It's just like such a classic song that I think
- 46:10Speaker 3: was just popular when we were all becoming young adults.
- 46:13Speaker 3: So like maybe these people like kissed to it once
- 46:16Speaker 3: or something. I don't know.
- 46:17Speaker 2: And again to clarify the song is I love you
- 46:20Speaker 2: till you're seventy? What's the plan after that?
- 46:23Speaker 3: That's not the I believe that everybody just dies in
- 46:26Speaker 3: his mind at summon dy Oh.
- 46:28Speaker 2: It's kind of like a Logan's run situation.
- 46:30Speaker 3: He is trying to be like when you're so old
- 46:32Speaker 3: that you can't walk? And I was like, people are walking, babe,
- 46:36Speaker 3: but he's like English or something, right.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Yeah, And again. So he's giving up on you when
- 46:43Speaker 2: you can't walk? How is this love?
- 46:47Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 46:48Speaker 2: No, I uh. The Ed Sheeran thing is always I've
- 46:50Speaker 2: been just absolutely baffled by it is flabbergasting. I guess
- 46:55Speaker 2: you have to eat. You needs something.
- 46:56Speaker 3: Flabber I am flabbergasted.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Flabbergasting is that something? It could be? Everybody knows what
- 47:03Speaker 2: you're talking about. It's their fault that they're not choosing
- 47:05Speaker 2: to understand you.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Yes, thank you for that.
- 47:08Speaker 2: No, I feel like I guess waiting rooms.
- 47:12Speaker 3: Yes, we need music for waiting rooms and for when
- 47:16Speaker 3: there's like.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Past apps past apps. Oh interesting, Now I'm already upset
- 47:21Speaker 2: with past apps, I know.
- 47:22Speaker 3: But there's talking over it, right.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 47:26Speaker 3: So if I get mad when it's like a dance
- 47:29Speaker 3: or god forbid, I was a bridesmaid in a wedding.
- 47:34Speaker 3: They walked down the aisle to an edge seerance song.
- 47:38Speaker 2: I tell everybody that you don't like music, and we're
- 47:40Speaker 2: gonna do it silently.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Yeah, what are you doing? But whatever?
- 47:48Speaker 2: Wait, are there any other musician beefs you have?
- 47:52Speaker 3: Hmmm, I'll think about it.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Let's try to alienate you from the.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Entire music industry.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I'm sure Ed Sharan's a perfectly nice guy.
- 48:02Speaker 3: That's he has a bad reputation. I think people came
- 48:07Speaker 3: after him because he's a dad and he's always on tour.
- 48:10Speaker 3: And I'm like, you, guys, that's the patriarchy. Like, I
- 48:14Speaker 3: don't know what to tell you, Like, dads are.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Gone, right, dads are out of there.
- 48:19Speaker 3: Dads are gone, And that's a societal problem. It's not
- 48:22Speaker 3: just an Ed Sheerant problem.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Yeah, Ed Sheeran, I feel like we I have bigger
- 48:27Speaker 2: problems with Ed scheer other than him being an absentee father.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Absolutely, how about my ears? No, Ed Sharon, truly, we
- 48:36Speaker 3: love you, We love you. I do think like congrats
- 48:39Speaker 3: on having a lasting music career, sure, and like being
- 48:43Speaker 3: played at weddings. Still, however, I can never listen to
- 48:47Speaker 3: your music because of what I did to myself. I
- 48:52Speaker 3: will always think of my dad as oh, you know,
- 48:55Speaker 3: and I think for that I should be compensated or
- 48:59Speaker 3: give me like free tickets to your concert.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Okay, so now you're creating an issue for yourself.
- 49:04Speaker 3: I know, I don't. I don't think I could actually
- 49:06Speaker 3: like go through the whole concert without crying.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Oh, I was just going to say, that's just like
- 49:10Speaker 2: a ruined Tuesday night.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Sorry, he's performing on a Tuesday.
- 49:15Speaker 2: I believe it. Maybe, And again, Ed, we love you
- 49:19Speaker 2: and you support your career well.
- 49:21Speaker 3: And here's the thing. Everyone doesn't have to be for everyone.
- 49:24Speaker 3: And I think that people are too sensitive like people. Shit,
- 49:27Speaker 3: I'm a woman online. You don't think people absolutely shit.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Oh, women online are totally fine. You're exaggerating. It's a
- 49:34Speaker 2: perfectly nice place for the guy.
- 49:36Speaker 3: Absolutely. People are constantly commenting on how I look. I'm
- 49:39Speaker 3: not like I should get a full face translam. So
- 49:43Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't think that my stuff would be
- 49:45Speaker 3: for him either.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Interesting and he's you know, he's going to be petty
- 49:49Speaker 2: and he's going to probably like yourself, but then say
- 49:51Speaker 2: something bad about it.
- 49:52Speaker 3: I think he should say something bad about it. But
- 49:55Speaker 3: I think if you're a real one, Ed, you would
- 49:58Speaker 3: play one of my clips as your father or mother
- 50:02Speaker 3: died a little he he haha for the end of
- 50:06Speaker 3: their life.
- 50:08Speaker 2: It's either that or a huge settlement for tat Yeah, exactly.
- 50:12Speaker 2: You can choose one. Well, stamps, stamps, this is a
- 50:17Speaker 2: valuable thing. There are a few things that people should
- 50:19Speaker 2: be giving us gifts like because you know, it's always
- 50:22Speaker 2: candle and we've always talked about what a boring thing is. Yeah,
- 50:25Speaker 2: that is. But you can always use a candle. But
- 50:27Speaker 2: you can also always use triple A batteries. Yes, you
- 50:30Speaker 2: can always use stamps, stamps, Kleenex, Kleenex. We're getting into
- 50:36Speaker 2: territory where it's a little uh sure, but a seasonal almost.
- 50:41Speaker 2: I guess that's a good Christmas gift.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Like in like a fun little oh, like a like
- 50:47Speaker 3: a thing.
- 50:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Yeah, they have like little ones like that have packaging
- 50:53Speaker 3: with like shoes on them.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Right, the shoe cleanex, you get it. Showers, flowers, there
- 51:01Speaker 2: are all these kind of pantry staples.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Well that's why I always hated when people would get
- 51:06Speaker 3: me flowers, because certain flowers give me such a terrible headache.
- 51:11Speaker 2: Oh and alert from allergies.
- 51:13Speaker 3: Probably, Yeah, just instantly I want to gauge my.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Eyes out, and just esthetically, you don't.
- 51:19Speaker 3: I'm like, god, damn it. No, I instantly get like
- 51:21Speaker 3: a headache, be based on the smell. And so when
- 51:25Speaker 3: you start dating somebody news sometimes they'll give you flowers,
- 51:28Speaker 3: which is a nightmare.
- 51:29Speaker 2: I don't like getting flowers ever.
- 51:31Speaker 3: I just want toilet paper.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Truly, when money is spent on flowers, it's something that
- 51:36Speaker 2: makes me feel like, oh, I'm not part of humanity
- 51:38Speaker 2: that I don't. It does literally nothing for me when
- 51:40Speaker 2: someone gives me flowers. Yes, they die just like all this.
- 51:44Speaker 2: I know this costs a decent amount of money that
- 51:45Speaker 2: could have been spent on other things I could use, absolutely,
- 51:49Speaker 2: and I'm just like they look nice enough. I don't know,
- 51:52Speaker 2: it's just not really for me.
- 51:53Speaker 3: I think you have to be having people over consistently
- 51:56Speaker 3: to like have fresh cut flowers.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Right.
- 51:59Speaker 3: When I go to other people's houses that are adults,
- 52:01Speaker 3: they have like decoration, They're like they understood something about
- 52:06Speaker 3: life that I'm not there yet. They have like gorgeous plants,
- 52:10Speaker 3: and they will typically have at least one vase with
- 52:13Speaker 3: like cut flowers, and I am like, wow, this does
- 52:16Speaker 3: look like a like this is lovely, this looks like
- 52:18Speaker 3: a picture.
- 52:19Speaker 2: This is like my house. Three months out of a year,
- 52:22Speaker 2: I'll have I'll buy flowers, and then those same flowers
- 52:25Speaker 2: are there for three months. So for the first week
- 52:27Speaker 2: it seems like I'm in control of my life.
- 52:30Speaker 3: And then you just have something that's like decaying.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Before you're on old water. Yeah, it's really a tough situation.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Do you like plants.
- 52:39Speaker 2: I love plants. I've gotten really good at taking care
- 52:41Speaker 2: of my plants.
- 52:42Speaker 3: Good for you. I haven't gotten there yet, okay.
- 52:44Speaker 2: I mean what the trick is is you don't take
- 52:47Speaker 2: care of.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Them so not at all. But sometimes they need.
- 52:50Speaker 2: Water, I mean so rarely. And I also bought a
- 52:54Speaker 2: moisture thing that you stick into the dirt and it.
- 52:57Speaker 3: Tells you, tells you. This is going to be huge
- 53:00Speaker 3: for me.
- 53:00Speaker 2: And it's really like every two weeks very little water
- 53:05Speaker 2: because I had killed essentially every plant I owned until now,
- 53:08Speaker 2: and I think almost all of mine are still alive,
- 53:09Speaker 2: outside of the ones that the dog choose up.
- 53:11Speaker 3: But that's for the dog.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Yes, I buy those ones.
- 53:16Speaker 3: For the dog.
- 53:17Speaker 2: I want the dog to have a stomach ache on occasion. Yes, Well,
- 53:23Speaker 2: I have all these very useful gifts. I've got a
- 53:27Speaker 2: new bumper awaiting me, and then I can send out
- 53:30Speaker 2: several threatening letters and what a wonderful thing. Oh and
- 53:34Speaker 2: I have this sushi that I can do. We'll clip
- 53:38Speaker 2: that to something in the studio, I imagine, I don't know.
- 53:41Speaker 2: It's beautiful. I think we should play a game. We're
- 53:44Speaker 2: going to play a game called Gift or a Curse.
- 53:46Speaker 2: I need a number between one and ten from you.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Let's see five.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Okay. I have to do some calculating to get our
- 53:53Speaker 2: game piece. So right now you can promote, recommend, do
- 53:57Speaker 2: whatever you want.
- 53:57Speaker 3: Okay, amazing. I guess I'll promote my tour, which I
- 54:01Speaker 3: don't know any of the dates or the venues. And
- 54:05Speaker 3: I'm an excellent businesswoman. I also have a Patreon. It's
- 54:09Speaker 3: pretty gay on Patreon, so hop over there subscribe please,
- 54:15Speaker 3: we would love to have you. Those are where the
- 54:17Speaker 3: full episodes of my show go and then clips are online.
- 54:22Speaker 3: But we'll be doing live shows in the Pacific Northwest,
- 54:26Speaker 3: and if we sell out, then I get to go
- 54:29Speaker 3: other places too. People are so mad that I'm not
- 54:32Speaker 3: like going to the East Coast, But that's far away,
- 54:35Speaker 3: do you know what I mean? Like, I need to
- 54:37Speaker 3: sell this one out and then I get to go there.
- 54:40Speaker 2: So the end, that's great. Everybody go support Catherine everywhere.
- 54:46Speaker 3: Yeah, support me everywhere? Thank you?
- 54:48Speaker 2: Do I have anything to recommend? I started watching The
- 54:53Speaker 2: X Files.
- 54:54Speaker 3: Oh I've never seen it.
- 54:55Speaker 2: I'm having a great time. I've only watched two episodes,
- 54:57Speaker 2: and both seem to be some nobody has it, like
- 55:02Speaker 2: a dermatological condition, some sort of skin rash. I don't
- 55:05Speaker 2: know if that's the whole show.
- 55:06Speaker 3: But is this like a house situation where like people
- 55:10Speaker 3: have like random illnesses.
- 55:11Speaker 2: First episode, people have little weird things on their skin.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Second episode, somebody's covered in rashes. I don't know what's
- 55:16Speaker 2: going on. I don't know if that's just kind of
- 55:18Speaker 2: sci fi though, right, yes, but so far sci fi
- 55:22Speaker 2: also means that you need to see a dermatom. Yeah.
- 55:25Speaker 2: I have to imagine that they're going to branch out
- 55:27Speaker 2: from that at some point maybe, but they're probably four
- 55:29Speaker 2: hundred episodes and I'm having a great time.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Do you finally finish Little House on the Prairie.
- 55:33Speaker 2: No, we're on pause. Gym's out of town, so we're
- 55:36Speaker 2: not watching it. Okay, don't shame me.
- 55:41Speaker 3: How many seasons is Little House on the Prairie?
- 55:43Speaker 2: That's a lot, Yeah, and.
- 55:45Speaker 3: That's when they were doing like twenty five twenty.
- 55:48Speaker 2: I think they're like twenty three or twenty four seasons.
- 55:50Speaker 2: So you're free the committing to something. It's I'm having
- 55:53Speaker 2: a great time, but my boyfriend's living in New York
- 55:55Speaker 2: right now if we watch.
- 55:56Speaker 3: It together, so it's yeah, you can't do that.
- 55:58Speaker 2: I'm not going to power through that.
- 55:59Speaker 3: I got into a with my acts when we were together.
- 56:03Speaker 3: They finished a show without me when I was out
- 56:06Speaker 3: of town, and that's how I knew that, Like they
- 56:09Speaker 3: were mad at me. But then I got on a
- 56:12Speaker 3: little plane and somebody died in a little plane that
- 56:14Speaker 3: same day, and so then they were back to loving me.
- 56:20Speaker 3: That's a true story.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Thank you people who died on a little plane. You
- 56:24Speaker 2: saved do you saved.
- 56:26Speaker 3: My relationship ship for a little bit.
- 56:31Speaker 2: Okay, let's play Gift or a Curse. I'm going to
- 56:34Speaker 2: name three things. You'll tell me if they are a
- 56:35Speaker 2: gift or a curse and why. Okay, then I'll tell
- 56:38Speaker 2: you if you're right or wrong, because there are correct
- 56:39Speaker 2: answers you can fail. Okay, all right. These are all
- 56:42Speaker 2: from our Patreon listeners today. This first one is from Greg.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Gift or a Curse Virtual try ons.
- 56:50Speaker 3: I'm not understanding what that. Oh like when you go
- 56:52Speaker 3: and to like a site and they're like try it on,
- 56:55Speaker 3: like try it on glasses or whatever. Right, Gosh, this
- 57:00Speaker 3: is tough, but I'm gonna say curse.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Why.
- 57:03Speaker 3: Well, first of all, you have to upload a picture
- 57:05Speaker 3: of your face. Awful, it's never flattering. I also think
- 57:12Speaker 3: that it's keeping people out of stores and thus removed
- 57:16Speaker 3: from humanity, and I think that's why we get a
- 57:19Speaker 3: lot of problems in our society.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Correct, yay, curse. No Virtual Try on one of the
- 57:26Speaker 2: biggest scams that the tech industry has tried to force
- 57:29Speaker 2: on us. It never works.
- 57:30Speaker 3: No, it's always like my glasses are like somehow like this,
- 57:32Speaker 3: and I'm like, well, I can't tell of those.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and best case scenario, they don't look like they're
- 57:37Speaker 2: on your face. They never It looks like a cheap
- 57:39Speaker 2: little image put over your face. Yeah, I'm having to
- 57:42Speaker 2: look at my face in a cheap webcam format. I'm
- 57:46Speaker 2: having to allow the browser to use the camera extra
- 57:50Speaker 2: button I'm.
- 57:51Speaker 3: Clicking and they can get in then to your data.
- 57:54Speaker 2: Yeah right, I would rather not see Yeah, of course,
- 57:57Speaker 2: that's probably what it's all about. It's just getting more
- 57:59Speaker 2: of your face.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Yeah it is.
- 58:01Speaker 2: I would rather just even see the product at all.
- 58:03Speaker 3: No, just ship it to me, Just ship me.
- 58:05Speaker 2: A surprise, because it'll be better than whatever is put
- 58:08Speaker 2: on my face in the virtual Try. On, stop wasting
- 58:11Speaker 2: our time. That technology will never work.
- 58:13Speaker 3: No, and I don't want it to No, I.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Want to go to the store. I think that's a
- 58:16Speaker 2: very good point. I love going to the store.
- 58:19Speaker 3: You might meet your best friend at the store.
- 58:22Speaker 2: So many things have happened.
- 58:23Speaker 3: At the store, or you might just have like a
- 58:25Speaker 3: great story for later, even if it's a bad experience.
- 58:29Speaker 3: Do you know, right, you're going to become a more
- 58:31Speaker 3: interesting person to talk to if you have more human interaction.
- 58:35Speaker 2: Right, your life will have texture after you go to
- 58:37Speaker 2: the store at the mall. Yes, go to the store. Okay,
- 58:41Speaker 2: you've gotten one right so far. This next one is
- 58:43Speaker 2: from Amy. Gift or a curse spending a lot of
- 58:46Speaker 2: money on something you like, but you know you may
- 58:49Speaker 2: not wear a lot.
- 58:51Speaker 3: Oh, you may not wear a lot. That's fine. Yeah,
- 58:55Speaker 3: that's a gift because in that question, and it did
- 59:00Speaker 3: not say I'm stressed out about money. So in this scenario,
- 59:06Speaker 3: I have a lot of money, and then every single
- 59:09Speaker 3: time I put that item of clothing on maybe or
- 59:12Speaker 3: wear that little purse, I feel like, Oh, I've invested
- 59:16Speaker 3: in myself. I don't have the pressure of using it
- 59:20Speaker 3: all the time. And I gave myself, like a little
- 59:25Speaker 3: treat that is around for longer than like a nice dinner.
- 59:30Speaker 3: I don't know. I think it is a gift.
- 59:33Speaker 2: Wrong curse. No, this stresses me out. Yeah, this is
- 59:39Speaker 2: something that does not work for me. This is just
- 59:41Speaker 2: something I'm buying, something that will make me feel guilty
- 59:43Speaker 2: all day. It's like the telltale heart. It's just always
- 59:47Speaker 2: beating in the closet, just always thinking I spent all
- 59:50Speaker 2: that money and I'm not using the item. Yeah, what
- 59:53Speaker 2: if I done? I've wasted money and I go in
- 59:57Speaker 2: the closet every day and feel guilty.
- 59:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say you should have a house gown.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: I think you need to free yourself up the bounds
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: of like reality and like you can wear anything a
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: lot of the time.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: Why do I need a house gown?
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: Because have you ever put on a gown? Okay, have
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: you ever put on a gown and then walked about
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: the house gown? Yeah, and the been like this is
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: my house gown. And then if you live with somebody,
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: they also get the pleasure of seeing you like no makeup,
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: hair a mess, when you're in like this gown and
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: then you're just answering emails. It's very fun. It's very silly.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: You're giving yourself a gift. You're giving somebody else a gift.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: That psychologically is a green flag. It's absolute green flag. Okay, well,
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: you've gotten one wrong so far. Be very careful with
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: this next. Well this is from Sarah. Yeah, gift or
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: a curse. Flossing your teeth at the communal work lunch table.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: No, what the fuck? What the hell? No?
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Huh?
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: Is there no bathroom that? No, get out of here, Sarah. No,
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: we must have standards. No, that is a communal table.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: There are rules. There are rules to society that matter,
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: and then there are rules that don't matter. Not having
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: bits of already eaten food flicked about at a communal table,
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: that's a rule that matters. I also never want to
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: see a coworker floss. I don't want to see you
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: stick your whole hand in your mouth. What also, I
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: know you're not washing your hand. You're sitting at a table. Huh.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: And then where does the floss go? And then it's
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: just dangling at the table. Am I supposed to be
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: eating around that? No? No, you could do it in
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: your car. Oh that's yeah, it is. But why do
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: you need like an audience for that, get out of here,
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: so curse, curse?
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Correct? Correct? No, I what are we talking about. You
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: can't do that.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: I don't think you should at work at all. I
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: even think the work bathroom. If you have to floss
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: at work, you should be in the bathroom stall, standing
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: on the toilet. I shouldn't even see your feet, lock
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: the door, floss your teeth, and that's like a once
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: in a lifetime.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, What are you doing? Why do you
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: need that? Unless, of course you are on a twelve
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: hour film set you're having all of your meals there,
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: or I mean a construction site I would imagine also
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: is the same way. And then you have to go
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: to the porta potty, right, a single it's a single stall.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: Like then you can you can floss, you can come out,
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: you can do your romantic kissine.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: But I don't want to know it after after Philosphy.
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, you've lost You do nothing else,
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: you know, like I'm ready, baby.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: No, it's a curse. You got two out of three. Yeah,
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: it's pretty good about time too. Oh, actually, Ellis, do
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: you have a gift or a curse?
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: I do?
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Ellis is going to do one of these and we
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: both have to answer to it. Then Ellis has the
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: true answer.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: Okay, fun all right? Gift or a curse?
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: Your second coffee of the day.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Well, I'm a psychopath, so to me, that is always
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: a gift, and I don't but I and I also
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: give myself the gift of not having to finish it.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: But I'm an espresso maker, so I'm not wasting my
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: money on my second coffee, right, Like, so.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: You're paying for the first one.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Well no, I'm usually making it at home nowadays, but
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: if I'm going out and about, I will buy a
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: coffee and it's always consistently a gift. But I would
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: say if I finish a second coffee, it might be
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: a curse for the people around me.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: I will say, gift too. The second cup of coffee
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: of the day for me is the one that works. Yeah,
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: the first one is just like truly too.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Do you drink coffee just like coffee or espresso?
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Cold brew?
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: Cold brew? Okay, I used to be a cold brew person,
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: but it destroyed my guts.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Oh interesting, I have that to look forward to.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: Yeah, but I really tried. I tried really hard. I
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: worked at a coffee shop. I was doing sixty four
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: ounces as a cold brew every single wow.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: I used to. I used to do a huge amount
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: every morning, starting at six am.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Yes, And I would say. People would be like, aren't
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: you cracked out? No, I'm not. I'm probably not medicated
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: for other.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: Things exactly, And I don't.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: I have too many things. I'm silliact now I'm gonna
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: be adhg Absolutely not. But I usually drink four shots
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: of espresso in the morning, so my second cup of
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: coffee or my second coffee will be another double shot.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: And I just simply don't need six shots of espress, right,
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: But it's always a gift. It's always a gift to
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: have one.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a gift. I and I will
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: now that I'll have a second cold brew of the day.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: I don't have to finish it. I'll put in the
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: fridge for another time.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: And I will I also come back, even if it's
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: like a iced cappuccina or something, I put it, I
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: scoop the ice out, I put in the fridge, I
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: drink it tomorrow.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: Absolutely Yeah.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Okay, were we right?
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: So I have a pretty sensitive system.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: We're headed in a bad direction.
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine. But here's my thinking is
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: that it still is a gift for me, okay, because
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: it's kind of like a little check in on my
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: nervous system. It's like, oh, I don't I'm on a
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: lot of medication, so I don't get really the opportunity
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: to do a lot of like fun drugs. Yeah, so
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: it's kind of like, all right, like what is this
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: afternoon going to look like? Am I going to be
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: really productive? Or am I going to have a complete
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: crash out at pm and start crying?
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: So it's just kind of like a little excitement for
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: my day of like what like a little like caffeine roulette,
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: Like what is what is it going to be like today?
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: You know, that's a gift. And look at us, we
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: all have kind of different logic and we've all come
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: together on this as a gift. I think that that's
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: really nice. I do too. What a beautiful way to
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: play the game. I think we should answer a listener
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: question people are writing into I said, no gifts at
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: gmail dot com.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: Are we can we address the cigarette? Was this a gift?
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: I begged you not to addressed the cigarette?
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: Catherine, I said, I wanted to dig myself into a hole.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: I begged you no, the cigarette because it's smoked. That
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: was when we did our Oh it smells in fifth
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: anniversary special. We I was smoking and I guess that's
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: a leftover cigarette from that. It's an herbal cigarette.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it smells nice.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: And that's right, Elice, that's what it's from.
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: Yeah, and I just decided to leave it on the table.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: It became a part of the set. Yes, that's one
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: of the rare things on the set. That's not a gift.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: I think almost everything else here was given, but you know,
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: it's just gives a little bit of a I think
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: it just makes every guest wonder, why is someone going
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: to start smoking in my face?
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I would love that.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: And that's a good energy to nothing. I wouldn't either
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: if the host started smoking, I'd just be like, Okay,
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: I'm trapped in a small room inhaling all of their stock.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Absolutely, I'm committed.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Yes, all right, let's answer a listener question. This says, Hi,
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: I am writing to you bridge or and guest because
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: my mother's birthday is fast approaching and I have no
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: idea what to get her. She's so hard to buy
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: for because she is a shopaholic and whenever she wants
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: something for herself, she buys it. I would love to
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: get her an experience or something other than a tangible object.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: She loves the outdoors but isn't athletic. She enjoys binging
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: everything on Netflix and working overtime at her full time
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: accountant job. Please help. And that's from Hannah. Hmm.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: I wonder if she likes plays. Oh and I also
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: wonder if she likes her daughter, because I know she.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Doesn't like this kid. Yeah, listener to this podcast.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: Okay, all right, that's because I was going to say
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: for my mother, who is also sometimes hard to buy
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: for because she doesn't like tangible objects. She loves an
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: experience and she loves going to the theater, and she
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: likes like carved out time that I put aside for her.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: So it's like outside of touring.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: Yeah, she's like, she's like, so that wasn't a visit,
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: that was just you doing work in town.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: You asked me to come to your show.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: Yeah exactly. But yeah, I would say, like if she's
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: in a city that has like theater or something, but
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: not if it's going to be bad.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: Because that's torture. Yeah, that's unfair.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: Actually, torture.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: That's one of the worst things you can.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: Do a person. I know your friend is talented, Hannah,
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: but don't do that to your mom. But something like that,
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: or like if there's jazz nights at like a local restaurant,
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: it could be like I want to take you to
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: go listen.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: To Joss rock concert, a rock concert. Yeah, Monster truck Rally,
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: live theater, Lucha Libre. Oh, I went to La Libre
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: Mexico City, time of my life.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: I went twice when we were there.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: The thing about it, the power, like being encouraged to
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: boo is the best feeling in the world.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: So fun.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: I love. I'm hooked on booing people. Yes, I might
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: start doing it places at bands I do, like do
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: it here, start.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: Booing community gues sits down, booh see what they do?
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: No, I loved. That was one of the highlights of
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: going to Mexico City for me.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: Same, just loudly yelling at strangers.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: Yes, it's so fun. Or going against the boo and
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: being like, no, I'm rooting for him.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the villains on the side of the villains.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: It feels great. Oh, take your mom to that. Find
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: some level of pro wrestling and take mom to pro wrestling.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it is really fun.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: Yes, I think that that's a perfect to answer. I
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: can't imagine getting your mom anything better.
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: No, I'm going to do it right now.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: I'm getting We're on your way to Chicago.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: Yeah, getting our looser libred tickets in Mexico City. You
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: got to get your there yourself, okay, curse.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: Yeah, we answered the question perfectly. I've got all kinds
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: of gifts. Yes, I've had such a lovely time with you.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: I've had a great time.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: Thank you for being here.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: Thank you so much for having me listener.
