- 0:19Speaker 4: How is it officially fall? You know how I know.
- 0:21Speaker 3: It is officially the fall gods have come upon us.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It's pumpkin time.
- 0:26Speaker 5: Have your latte.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Wear your Uggs.
- 0:29Speaker 4: Okay.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Because today, producer Blake wore a flannel shirt instead of
- 0:35Speaker 3: a Hawaiian shirt.
- 0:36Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:39Speaker 2: All year long.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Producer Blake wears a freaking Hawaiian shirt.
- 0:44Speaker 4: You got a million of those things.
- 0:45Speaker 2: You got a banana one. I've got a Bucky's one.
- 0:48Speaker 4: A Bucky's one. I've got a SpongeBob one. I've got
- 0:52Speaker 4: so many of them.
- 0:54Speaker 3: He has switched over to the flannel, the red and
- 0:56Speaker 3: black flannel. You look like a lumberjack today, and I'm happy.
- 0:59Speaker 4: It's time to start. You know, like, I have two looks.
- 1:03Speaker 4: I have the Hawaiian vacation look, and I've got the
- 1:06Speaker 4: worker bee.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I'll take it. Hey, look, it's— Tim Allen.
- 1:10Speaker 6: No, no, no.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Al Borland.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:13Speaker 2: You're Al Borland. Tool time.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I know who it is.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Remember, I don't think so, Tim?
- 1:18Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 2: You can be like, I don't think so, Bama.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Oh, for Halloween, can we be Al Borland and Tim
- 1:23Speaker 5: the Toolman Taylor?
- 1:24Speaker 2: I'll be Tim the Toolman Taylor.
- 1:26Speaker 5: You'll be Al Borland.
- 1:28Speaker 4: That's it.
- 1:28Speaker 5: That's our costume.
- 1:29Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Good morning. Thanks for listening to the show. It's what
- 1:35Speaker 2: the hell headlines. What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:39Speaker 1: On the Alabama show.
- 1:41Speaker 3: A tourist accidentally burned down their villa in Bali trying
- 1:45Speaker 3: to kill a spider.
- 1:48Speaker 4: I mean, to be fair, it was a spider.
- 1:50Speaker 2: This is the dumbest thing.
- 1:51Speaker 3: A guy visiting Bali saw a spider in his bathroom.
- 1:55Speaker 3: So he grabs a piece of paper and sets the
- 1:57Speaker 3: piece of paper on fire to try to scare the
- 1:59Speaker 3: spider away.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Drops the piece of paper.
- 2:02Speaker 3: The villa sets on fire, goes up in minutes. It
- 2:05Speaker 3: was worth $ 112, 000 in Bali. Like a beautiful villa in
- 2:10Speaker 3: the middle of an exotic place.
- 2:12Speaker 4: And it's just gone. It's just gone now.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yep. The whole thing burned down because the piece of
- 2:16Speaker 3: paper blew into the living room and set the whole
- 2:18Speaker 3: place on fire.
- 2:19Speaker 2: What the hell? 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Good morning, Melissa. What are you doing right now?
- 2:27Speaker 6: I'm on my way to work from Hayden. I went
- 2:30Speaker 6: to Hayden to help my mom get in her wheelchair
- 2:33Speaker 6: this morning.
- 2:33Speaker 5: Oh, look how sweet you are. You are such a
- 2:36Speaker 5: good daughter. I try. Melissa, do you have any good
- 2:40Speaker 5: news today? Do you have anything that you're celebrating?
- 2:43Speaker 6: We are celebrating that all of my stepdad's tests came
- 2:47Speaker 6: back clear and he is coming home today.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Yay! Okay, clear for what and where is he at?
- 2:55Speaker 2: Is he in the hospital?
- 2:56Speaker 6: He is. He is in St. Vincent's or UAB St.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Vincent's now. He had three seizures.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 3:03Speaker 6: And we thought maybe a stroke, but it was from
- 3:06Speaker 6: fluid on his heart.
- 3:08Speaker 5: Oh my gosh.
- 3:08Speaker 6: But he is my mom's primary caregiver, so she has
- 3:11Speaker 6: been upset and I've been filling in.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Are they going to do heart surgery? What are they
- 3:16Speaker 5: going to do with the fluid on his heart?
- 3:18Speaker 6: We don't know yet. He's coming home with a monitor on.
- 3:21Speaker 6: But the drive from Hayden has gave me more time
- 3:24Speaker 6: to listen to you and producer Blake.
- 3:26Speaker 3: That is awesome news.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Thank you for sharing. We're glad that he's okay.
- 3:34Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama show.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Alabama versus Tennessee is this Saturday.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Tomorrow at 2.30.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Also, Auburn versus Georgia kickoff also at 2.30. So, all
- 3:47Speaker 3: the football happening tomorrow while your phone storage is almost
- 3:51Speaker 3: full if you keep getting that notification when you go
- 3:54Speaker 3: to take a picture which I do every time some
- 3:55Speaker 3: spots to delete data and free up space that you
- 3:58Speaker 3: may not think about your messages I just went through
- 4:00Speaker 3: and deleted like 6,000 messages on my phone because that
- 4:04Speaker 3: takes up data when people send pictures also forgotten downloads
- 4:08Speaker 3: like old podcast movies and TV shows or unused apps
- 4:12Speaker 3: if there's an app you have on your phone that
- 4:13Speaker 3: you haven't used in years delete it it'll give you
- 4:15Speaker 3: some free space the TSA is reminding Halloween travelers that
- 4:19Speaker 3: you cannot bring costume weapons through security.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Like nothing?
- 4:24Speaker 3: No. So you can wear a costume through the airport
- 4:27Speaker 3: within reason, like comfortable pajama-like costumes, but the elaborate stuff,
- 4:31Speaker 3: like take your mask off when you're going through TSA,
- 4:34Speaker 3: you cannot wear a full face of makeup.
- 4:36Speaker 2: They'll ask you to wash it off.
- 4:37Speaker 3: And you cannot, absolutely not even in checked bags, you
- 4:42Speaker 3: can't take anything that looks like an explosive.
- 4:44Speaker 2: You can take.
- 4:47Speaker 3: unchecked bags, prop knives, swords, lightsabers, brooms, pitchforks, and guns,
- 4:51Speaker 3: but you cannot take them through TSA for carry-on. And pumpkins,
- 4:56Speaker 3: in case you were wondering, you can take pumpkins, even
- 4:59Speaker 3: carved jack-o'-lanterns, they are allowed in carry-on bags.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Well, that's good to know, I guess.
- 5:04Speaker 3: So if you're planning on traveling on Halloween, those are
- 5:06Speaker 3: all the things you need. That's three things you need
- 5:09Speaker 3: to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 5:12Speaker 1: The alabama show on demand free on the iheart.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Radio app 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show
- 5:19Speaker 3: good morning lindsey what's your issue for ask alabama.
- 5:24Speaker 7: Um two of my friends are having an affair what
- 5:28Speaker 7: with each other yeah yeah my cousin who's like my
- 5:31Speaker 7: best friend is cheating on his wife with.
- 5:33Speaker 2: My best friend how did you find out.
- 5:37Speaker 7: His wife texted me asking if I knew that they
- 5:40Speaker 7: were hooking up. And I was like, of course not.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Absolutely not. So his wife knows.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Well, she thinks she knows.
- 5:46Speaker 7: And I definitely covered not knowing I covered. And then
- 5:50Speaker 7: I talked to my cousin and he's like, yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it happened.
- 5:55Speaker 3: So like, is this an ongoing thing or was it
- 5:58Speaker 3: a one time hookup?
- 6:00Speaker 1: I think it's an ongoing thing.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And they just are like not telling me.
- 6:04Speaker 7: And he needs to just leave his wife if this
- 6:06Speaker 7: is going to happen.
- 6:07Speaker 2: So what is the wife?
- 6:09Speaker 3: Like, why did she think that she thought that they
- 6:12Speaker 3: were having an affair? Like what raised her suspicions?
- 6:15Speaker 7: So I knew that they were going to hang out,
- 6:17Speaker 7: and I thought she knew that they were going to
- 6:20Speaker 7: hang out together and go watch the football game.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Your cousin and your best friend that were having a relationship. Yeah.
- 6:27Speaker 5: I knew that they were going to hang out. I
- 6:28Speaker 5: thought the wife knew as well.
- 6:30Speaker 7: Apparently, he had lied to her and said he was
- 6:33Speaker 7: going out with a friend. And then, of course, he
- 6:35Speaker 7: left his phone in my best friend, the girl's car.
- 6:39Speaker 7: And so she ended up finding out that, you know,
- 6:41Speaker 7: his phone's in her car.
- 6:42Speaker 5: And so the cat's out of the bag, basically.
- 6:46Speaker 7: But I accidentally lied for him.
- 6:49Speaker 6: What about yours?
- 6:49Speaker 2: He said nothing at all. What about your best friend's husband?
- 6:52Speaker 2: Does he have any suspicion? She is single, thank God.
- 6:55Speaker 7: But her ex-husband is a crazy man and would freak
- 6:58Speaker 7: out even though they're broken up.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Have you talked to your best friend about it? Have
- 7:02Speaker 2: you asked her, like, what are you doing?
- 7:04Speaker 7: I haven't because I just want to, like, I don't
- 7:07Speaker 7: know what to say to her.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Like, I want her to meet somebody.
- 7:09Speaker 7: My cousin's a good guy, but, like, he's married.
- 7:12Speaker 2: He needs to break up with me.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Yes, and now she's... Your friend is causing drama with
- 7:16Speaker 3: your family.
- 7:17Speaker 2: That is not a good friend.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Nope.
- 7:21Speaker 4: I agree with that.
- 7:22Speaker 7: I don't know how to make it stop though. And
- 7:24Speaker 7: I like, I.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Really do hate his wife.
- 7:27Speaker 7: Is part of it oh my god why do you
- 7:30Speaker 7: hate his wife she's terrible she and matt she's just
- 7:33Speaker 7: terrible she treats them like crap they've had like they
- 7:35Speaker 7: haven't been sleeping in the same room for two years
- 7:39Speaker 7: it's and they're young like get get a divorce you're
- 7:42Speaker 7: still young you can meet somebody but he just won't
- 7:44Speaker 7: leave now he's cheating do they have kids no they
- 7:48Speaker 7: don't even have kids if it were me i would
- 7:50Speaker 7: sit your cousin and your friend down because what Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Call the show.
- 7:56Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Has anybody in your life ever had an affair? And
- 8:01Speaker 3: do you tell the parties involved?
- 8:03Speaker 2: I would tell the wife. If I were the wife,
- 8:05Speaker 2: I would want to know. Tell the wife.
- 8:07Speaker 7: I know.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I feel like I should.
- 8:08Speaker 4: 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 8:09Speaker 2: That's 833-501-2262.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama Show.
- 8:18Speaker 3: If you are an Alabama hunter, a hunting program is
- 8:21Speaker 3: asking you to donate a deer or a few if
- 8:23Speaker 3: you can. There's a nonprofit in Bragg's called Cornwallis 1828,
- 8:28Speaker 3: and they are hoping this year to get 250 donated
- 8:31Speaker 3: does for their fourth annual doe rodeo. which runs from
- 8:34Speaker 3: November 27th to 31st. What they do is they use
- 8:37Speaker 3: the doe to feed people in need through food banks
- 8:39Speaker 3: with donated venison. 250 deer could feed 40,000 people.
- 8:43Speaker 2: So if you're a hunter and you got some extra deer.
- 8:45Speaker 3: There's a good cause to donate it to. What it
- 8:49Speaker 3: means if you see a teal pumpkin on Halloween, it
- 8:52Speaker 3: signals that non-food treats are available for kids with food
- 8:55Speaker 3: allergies or dietary restrictions. The teal pumpkin project started in
- 9:00Speaker 3: Tennessee in 2012, and it became a national thing, which
- 9:03Speaker 3: encourages families to hand out small things like toys alongside
- 9:07Speaker 3: or instead of candy. So if your kids have allergies
- 9:09Speaker 3: or can't have certain candy, the teal pumpkin on the
- 9:12Speaker 3: front porch means that they'll have toys, too.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Drew Barrymore is.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Going to host a Pillsbury Bake Off Classic special on CBS.
- 9:21Speaker 4: I'm in, 100%.
- 9:22Speaker 3: If you didn't know, her first ever acting role was
- 9:24Speaker 3: a 1979 Pillsbury ad, and now almost 50 years later,
- 9:28Speaker 3: she has a bake-off show on CBS.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And Paramount +.
- 9:31Speaker 4: My gosh.
- 9:33Speaker 2: It's a two-hour baking competition.
- 9:35Speaker 3: It's going to air Monday, November 23rd with chefs as judges,
- 9:38Speaker 3: and the winner is going to win $ 25, 000 and a
- 9:41Speaker 3: KitchenAid package.
- 9:42Speaker 4: I love cooking shows. I'm in 100%.
- 9:44Speaker 5: I'll watch.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Just don't put the KitchenAid baking bowl straight in the
- 9:50Speaker 3: fridge and ruin it because that's what producer Blake would do.
- 9:54Speaker 3: That's three things you need to know. More at the
- 9:56Speaker 3: Alabama show.com.
- 9:59Speaker 1: You're listening to the Alabama show.

- 11:16Speaker 1: The Alabama Show on demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Sign me up for poker because I officially have the
- 11:22Speaker 3: best poker face.
- 11:23Speaker 4: I don't believe that for a second.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I will be on your team.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I'm Alabama with producer Blake.
- 11:31Speaker 6: That's me.
- 11:31Speaker 3: So I had a very important Zoom call earlier this week.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I'm on the board for a nonprofit that helps people
- 11:40Speaker 3: struggling with addiction.
- 11:42Speaker 7: Yes.
- 11:43Speaker 2: So we had to do like our check-in calls yesterday.
- 11:47Speaker 3: And so I'm doing the Zoom and I'm sitting inside
- 11:50Speaker 3: my living room and all of a sudden my.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Dogs start going crazy.
- 11:53Speaker 4: As they do, yeah.
- 11:54Speaker 3: And they're barking and I'm like, okay. So I get
- 11:57Speaker 3: up and I go to step outside on the front
- 11:59Speaker 3: porch where they can't hear the dogs barking and going nuts. Well,
- 12:03Speaker 3: when I open the door, my Pitbull Lab Mix Herschel
- 12:08Speaker 3: burst through my legs. and just rips out down the yard,
- 12:12Speaker 3: straight down the driveway and takes off.
- 12:15Speaker 5: I don't have a shock collar on him to beep
- 12:17Speaker 5: him to tell him to come home.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I don't have anything. He just goes. And I'm like,
- 12:22Speaker 2: oh my God. And I'm still like.
- 12:23Speaker 3: In the middle of this really important conversation with the
- 12:26Speaker 3: president of the board and then the president of the nonprofit.
- 12:28Speaker 3: And they're like, So where do you see the nonprofit
- 12:31Speaker 3: going in five years?
- 12:32Speaker 2: And all I see is my dog just across the
- 12:36Speaker 2: street running.
- 12:37Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh, so many things can happen right now.
- 12:40Speaker 2: What do I do?
- 12:40Speaker 1: What do I do?
- 12:41Speaker 3: And so I'm sitting there on Zoom so they can
- 12:44Speaker 3: see my face, but they have no idea that the
- 12:46Speaker 3: dog just ran out and what happened.
- 12:49Speaker 1: What?
- 12:50Speaker 5: I know.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I was like, well, in five years, I hope that.
- 12:55Speaker 3: And I'm like trying to pull an answer from anywhere.
- 12:58Speaker 3: And I still keep looking off to the side watching
- 13:01Speaker 3: my dog. This goes on for like five minutes. They
- 13:03Speaker 3: keep asking me all these questions. And I'm trying to
- 13:06Speaker 3: answer and be professional. And I keep looking to the
- 13:09Speaker 3: side waiting on my dog because where he ran, the
- 13:12Speaker 3: people across the street also have dogs that are aggressive.
- 13:15Speaker 3: And I'm just waiting for a fight to happen or something.
- 13:18Speaker 3: And I'm like praying. I'm like, oh, my God, please
- 13:19Speaker 3: don't make me have to.
- 13:21Speaker 4: Start screaming and run off.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Or like that dog could go after one of my chickens.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Sometimes he'll chase chickens and kill chickens. I'm like, my
- 13:29Speaker 3: brain starts going with all the bad things that could
- 13:31Speaker 3: go wrong. He finally just came walking back up the
- 13:34Speaker 3: driveway in the middle of the call and got on
- 13:35Speaker 3: the porch and I got him in the house.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I was freaking out.
- 13:39Speaker 4: I want to know what the people on the call
- 13:41Speaker 4: were sitting there going, why are they, why does she
- 13:43Speaker 4: keep looking off?
- 13:43Speaker 2: They had no idea.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Once I got in the house, I told them, I
- 13:47Speaker 3: was like, now that this is all over, here's what happened.
- 13:51Speaker 2: And I told them what all was going on during
- 13:53Speaker 2: that call. And they just kind of looked at me
- 13:55Speaker 2: and they went, we had no idea.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Okay, I still don't know if I trust your poker face.
- 14:00Speaker 4: I just think they were oblivious to what was going on.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Oh my God, it was so stressful. Call the show.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Have you ever been on a work call and something
- 14:08Speaker 3: crazy happened?
- 14:09Speaker 2: Because I was panicking I was going to have to
- 14:11Speaker 2: hang up. 833-501-BAMA. That's 833-501-2262. What happened when you were
- 14:14Speaker 2: on a work Zoom?
- 14:19Speaker 1: You are listening to the Alabama Show on demand.
- 14:23Speaker 3: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. Savannah, good morning.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Have you ever been on a work call and something
- 14:29Speaker 3: gone wrong?
- 14:30Speaker 6: I have been on a school call.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 14:32Speaker 6: I have been doing class on my computer. All of
- 14:37Speaker 6: a sudden, my child starts screaming, blood pouring out his mouth.
- 14:42Speaker 3: I'm like, what?
- 14:43Speaker 2: What did you just do? What happened?
- 14:45Speaker 6: Don't ask me how he did it, but something involving
- 14:49Speaker 6: a plastic hanger.
- 14:51Speaker 2: What?
- 14:52Speaker 5: What?
- 14:53Speaker 6: So I poked a hole in the back of his throat.
- 14:57Speaker 6: I barely missed his tonsils.
- 14:59Speaker 2: How old was your son?
- 15:00Speaker 6: This was a year ago, like a year and a
- 15:03Speaker 6: half ago.
- 15:03Speaker 2: So he was seven.
