[upbeat rock music] [laughs] Keep it down over there. [laughs] I have not seen it yet. On Paramount-ish.
0:17
Oh. Yeah, yeah. I'm DJing over here now. Yeah. Wiggy, wiggy, wiggy. I'm doing the DJ thing. Yeah, yeah. Hey, everybody. Can you do the wiggy, wiggy, wiggy? Full spectrum cycling. It's show number 171. 1-7-1. 100.
0:34
Yeah, that's like the Jim Beam, um, thing. Yeah. Uh- Close 101... something. Something to do. Somebody pick up. Ron Rico. It's like- Ron Bacardi 151. We could have done that one. [laughs] Yeah.
0:53
170. Uh, um, 190 will be the Booker's from Jim Beam. All right. 'Cause that's what, uh- Let's get right to that... that's what, uh, uh, Gomez gave me as a gift. 190 proof? Yes.
1:06
[laughs] What, it's just basically like- White Lightning. Yeah. Exactly. Pretty much. Yes. Basically. And it was very delicious for, like, a trillisecond. It's like, ooh, brr.
1:16
And man, you just- Yeah, that's not a good idea... it lasted me a while. It's not a good idea. And plus, you know, you go on rides and you're like, "Hey, you want a shot?" [laughs] Well, sorry it's 100 proof. To people.
1:28
[laughs] Oh, hey. To people, yeah. I, I forgot to turn on the, the call-in line, so. Oh. Oh, did you actually hit the button? Let me, let me do that. Hit the button. I'm gonna do that right now.
1:35
Oh, what are you doing, Chase? I'm staying away from that 'cause I almost- Somehow. Oh, here's, here's how we do that... I almost dosed it. Here's how we do that. I don't know. I'm not sure what we're doing here yet.
1:42
I'm far away from that so I don't soak it with liquid. Well, Tony can open it up, 'cause he brought... Well, shit, let's get to the top of the hill right away. [bell ringing] We can talk about the beer- Hey, naked.
1:53
Hey, naked... and where he, [laughs] and where he got the beer. You brought your naked beer from- And what he s- what he saw there. [laughs] Okay. Tell us about that.
1:59
So we got some Enlightened Brewing Company, the Imperative pale ale. Um, we've had this on the show before. It's pretty freaking fantastic. It's, uh, a hoppy quencher. 6.0, a alcohol by volume.
2:16
I do not know what APB is. [laughs] We, we might have somebody talking to us here. ABV, yeah. Uh. Thank you for calling Call-in Studios host and call screener line. Go ahead.
2:24
Please enter your show or- Show or meeting number. Okay, I can do that, while Tony's- Beep, boop, beep, boop, boop, boop. Boop. Enter your six-digit PIN number. Deet, doo, deet, deet, doo. [laughs] Welcome, host.
2:39
[laughs] You are now in the host room- Right on... and can manage your callers from the Call-in Studio web interface. See how it did that? All right, so- Audio recording is- Hey... on Dual channel... Guy. Dual channel.
2:49
Guy. Guy. Guy, what are you saying, Guy? So yes, I've got ourselves some beer from Enlightened Brewing. It is Imperative. It is imperative, and what- I, I-...
3:00
what became imperative is- It's imperative that I saw a, a lot of naked m- m- On my way to get said beer, I happened to hear a party going on and turned the corner, and out of the corner of my eye could've swore I saw a naked person.
3:15
And then I turned my head the other way and I saw a table full of naked people, and that's when it dawned on me, there's a lot of naked people here. Hey. Yeah. Mind you, I- Didn't we talk about this last week?
3:25
Yes, and I totally forgot about it. Yeah, Flake, a- a- Well, I decided-... as you, as you left Clinger's- I decided right then and there- As you left Clinger's I was like, uh, huh. Oh...
3:35
as I decided I, I, I said, "Naked people be damned, I'm still getting my pint of beer." So I walk in, and in the brewery lo and behold- Naked people... half the people [laughs] are full on naked.
3:48
Some weren't even wearing shoes. [sighs] So- We, we did talk about how riding your bike- This is terribly-... totally naked-... uncomfortably- It is terribly bad. It's a bad idea... shoes, uh, seem to be a no-brainer.
3:58
Right. Do you wanna de-glove your foot somehow? Right. No. No. Do you wanna sit in a, a- No. And I'll tell you why... saddle without any padding? I don't. Or greasy booty all over the place.
4:10
Or, right, sweaty, greasy booty. Yeah. I don't wanna do that. Yeah. I don't want my saddle to go through that. Yeah. So I- My, my, my bat wing is not gonna change if- [laughs] Right... I don't have something on or off.
4:20
So I d- Smelly bat wing... I decide to hell with it, I'm still gonna get a beer. And- There, there is a thing called a female bat wing... I'm in line to get a beer and I look at someone- It's there now...
4:28
I look at someone at the bar and I'm like, "Hmm, that guy looks familiar." And thank God he had clothes on.
4:33
It wasn't, uh- And, um, I got my beer and I, and I, I never do this, but I walked up to him and I'm like, "Excuse me, but how do I know you?" And he turned to me and he's like, "Tony, it's Aaron."
4:46
I'm like, "From Taipei, Japan?" I'm like, "Are you seriously back?" And I'm like, and it dawned on me, I'm like, "You ride the River West 24 every year." And he's like, "Yes, I am." But that's also not... A month away.
4:57
So is he gonna be back? He's... Yeah, he... No, he teaches ESL, uh, at a, a fancy school in Japan, and he gets his summers off. Oh, right on.
5:08
So he has a couple of houses in Bayview, and it wasn't until he turned and looked at me and said my name that I immediately knew who he was. He's not- He's not that back. Ka, ka, ka, ka, ka, ka, ka. So yeah.
5:19
Gesturing and not using- Al- along with seeing a lot of naked people, I ran into my friend Aaron, who thankfully for me was clothed. Is that a W-A-R-O-N or an E-R-I-N? W-A-R-O-N. Well, you just gotta...
5:27
That's when you actually have to maintain eye contact. Well, it, it was, um, I will say- [laughs] Yes... I, and to add, too- Yes, I'm just looking at your eyes. I shit you not...
5:37
to add, too, the hu- the humor of a whole bunch of naked people, some people who didn't know there was gonna be naked people there, me, other people who knew there were naked people there just to watch.
5:45
In comes the cutest, like, mid-20s bachelorette party, where all the women are dressed as anime cast c- characters. So like blue hair, red hair- Not naked... purple hair. Not naked. Adorable.
6:00
And then they asked me to take pictures of them, which was really cute.
6:04
So there was like 18 of them So I did have to suffer through someone's video of this when they went through downtown, and I, I thought to myself- Myself... I would be wearing shorts so I wouldn't be all naked- Mm-hmm...
6:15
and it's kind of defeating the purpose because I just don't wanna sit on that seat. No. No. I, it's, I- Maybe, maybe. Maybe some- I don't get... I mean, I understand what they're trying to do- Yes, understood...
6:26
to promote the awareness of cyclists, but you don't do it naked That's what you do with a Santa costume in the winter. Yeah, yep, yep. Right? Right. Everybody rides a bike in the summer.
6:33
Well, no, this is different- Do we really need awareness in the summer?... hey, this is, this is a different kettle of fish, a different vibe Well, it doing it good whether we need it or not. And they did it.
6:38
It's just people like to get naked. That's, that's totally what it was. These are people, these are just people that like to get naked. That I felt that this was just totally about people who wanna be naked. Yeah. Yes.
6:46
Well, that's fair. And I'm totally cool with that. I'm not 100% that person myself. I, I, you know, I don't, I don't necessarily- I like to body shame my own damn self.
6:54
I don't need somebody else to do it Oh, I'm ugly, I'm ugly as sin naked, but I'm- Dude, everything about me is the wrapper. You don't get inside there. Once you unpeel it, just- You don't wanna get inside there.
7:04
It'll just make you cry. [laughs] Yeah. Like a fucking onion, man. Peel away the layers, baby. Every layer makes you cry a little bit more. It's a good, it's a good River West 24 name. [laughs] The wrapper?
7:21
No, every, Every Layer Makes You Cry a Little Bit More. [laughs] Hey, speaking of beer, here's a quick one. Did you know if you show up at Amorphick on a bike you get two bucks off a pint?
7:32
Is that every pint or just- No... the first pint? I'm guessing it's the first pint, but I- Should we find out?... the cutest- We should because as- We, we will. It's not should...
7:41
as West, as West River Collective members, we get a dollar off anyway of every pint. So- But, yes, it was- We're gonna have to double dip here So I don't know- Or no, just it's like, no, take away that one.
7:52
If I'm just like, "I am, I am Jeff and Left and Right, ta-da." I- This is, this is... Yeah. Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum. I- What do we get? Two, mm.
8:01
I don't know who the sweet young lady bartender was, 'cause I've already forgotten her name last night, but it was really cute because we started talking about music, and then, like- Everything falls apart...
8:10
eight, eight minutes, eight minutes later pretty much, eight minutes later I'm like, "So can I get my pint of beer?" Uh. And she just looked at me and she's like, "Oh, my God, I totally forgot."
8:19
[laughs] It was the funniest, like- Was that last night or when Chad was- Last night... that was- No, I was there last night, too. I had a nice little- Oh, yeah. [laughs] Let me s- l- Chad's a fun dude, huh?
8:28
Let, let, let me, let me- Yeah. No, I sat there with him for a good hour after you left... let me forecast that you were listening to Mazzy Star Fade Into You- No... because all of these stories.
8:36
We were listening to a lot of Depeche Mode, actually. Depeche. Yeah. And she was a young girl. She was really funny. It was really cute.
8:44
But then she said- Depeche Mode- Was the, the same bartender that was there when you and Chad and I were there? No. Oh, okay. Well, she... I don't remember her name either. I know.
8:50
I'm terrible with names, but you're way better than I am. I'll get better at it. Rest in peace, Loaded Slate, speaking of knowing people's names. Loaded Slate? Out of business.
8:59
Oh, too many people got blasted outside of there. Yeah. Oh, so you think it was because of, because of that? But that, uh- Not, well-...
9:05
but that, that, uh, half-price Monday- Yeah, they used to have the Sin Monday- Yeah... which was just, like, the best- Yeah, you just-... half-price drinks, half-price food... you get there by, like, 2:00. Ooh. Yeah.
9:16
And Valerie used to work there, so that was kinda nice. Yeah. Sweet Val, yes. Sweet Valerie. Yes, yes, yes. But it was a good special, and, you know, pop in there late lunch and you're like, "Bam."
9:26
I'm not gonna s- You mean like the $4 hot dogs at, uh- No, not really good food... Val's Wine Door? Yeah, kinda. Oh, not good, it was just cheap.
9:34
Well- Not really good food, but, like, affordable half-price food That isn't true.
9:38
You had to kind of make your own menu 'cause they had really good gravy, and if you did the right gravy with the chicken wings- [laughs]... it was really good. Which was kind of- Yeah, it was a dance...
9:48
yeah, it was kind of like- It was totally a fucking dance, man... it was kinda like the gravy from... because they did the waffle and chicken thing. Yeah. Yeah. Gravy. I tried... Yeah, I- Perfect idea...
9:57
I t- I tried a... I remember first time it was like I tried tacos. Tacos. And tacos- Tacos. Tacos... so are you fr- are you from LA? LA. [laughs] Going for a hike. Did, did you see how they were presented on a platter?
10:11
Like they're Ding, ding, ding. Oh, yeah. Well, that's the way they do it everywhere but here. So that's why I went with the tacos. Tacos. There's a method to my madness. Yeah. Come on, now.
10:21
Well, your taco deal here now in, in West Dallas is out there at the Studs 'cause they got $1.50 tacos on, uh, Tuesday afternoon. And they are- Ah. Here's the, here's the key.
10:30
If anybody decides to go to Studs for tacos Tuesday afternoon, buck 50, don't get the hard shell. Soft shell. They can fill it with, like, four times more food. Oh, good to know. Right? Absolutely.
10:41
But that means I gotta go to Stalco. Well, I had to go to Rafael Industries. Oh. Our powder- Are they over there now? That's where they m- you should see their facility. Is it good? Oh, my God, is it great. Yeah.
10:50
They're really kicking ass with GE and stuff, and they still deign to do a couple of forks of powder coating for us, which is, like... I love Scott. He's so awesome.
11:00
And now he doesn't just run the coating division, he runs the whole dump. Nice. And it's 26,000 square feet. It's huge. Huge, I'm telling you. Huge. Basically their main business is refurbing, um, CAT scan,
11:14
uh, X-ray tubes- Powder re- um... from GE.
11:17
They get the, like, contraption that has the X-ray tube in it, and they properly dispose of the old one and they refurbish them and then they send them back out to India, Dubai, all over the world. It's crazy. Wow.
11:29
Good for them. Rafael Industries, folks, but they'll still t- they'll still take your bike frame in. Yeah. In fact- Make a pretty damn good job powder coating it...
11:36
but in fact- And we're back on the- He's like, he's like, "Do you know Dave Wages?" I'm like, "I know Dave Wages." Yeah, of course. He goes, "We got one of Dave Wages's, s- s- s- frames in here to powder coat." No. No.
11:45
Yeah. When, when Dave doesn't wanna p- when he doesn't wanna pay Jason Sanchez, if he's still using him- I'm like, it's like $8,000... a zillion dollars to paint the frame, he goes to Rafael to have him powder coat it.
11:56
Which as picky as Dave is and as- It has to be good... as what a, I mean, absolute craftsman he is, does that tell you they're the best- Yeah, if you-...
12:04
bicycle frame powder coater in- Wisconsin at least E- Ellis Bikes will be in the next show- Ellis Bikes... because- Got to... yeah A what? Bikes...
12:12
their bikes are, his bikes are nothing short of f- Think he still- I, I-... makes them in his basement... I believe- Or does he do them in his garage now? He does in Franklin now. Oh, that's right.
12:20
I do it in his basement. They moved. He moved, yeah. Right. All right, Dave Wages. I didn't get it in for the first wave, and that was cool.
12:27
I was just gonna say that I ended my night at Liquid Johnny's, and Sunday nights if you buy a beer and shot, you get a free hot dog. At Liquid Johnny's? Yes. Is it a never e- And it was fucking awesome...
12:41
is it never- We were just gonna like stop for- I'd give the shot to somebody... we're just... Yeah. Is it never any hot dogs? Like, if you have four beers, you get four dogs? No, I'd say it's one per purchase.
12:48
I would like to do four dogs, please. Nah. [laughs] No, don't look for the de- Are they little shitty dogs like I love so very much? No, normal. Yeah. I love shitty little- Normal. No, I love little... Yeah.
12:58
My favorite- Dude, I- My favorite dog is probably from Dairy Queen. Hmm. Those are pretty good. Yes. Um, I also like a quality dog too. Uh, nothing wrong with a quality dog- Um-...
13:08
but it's not always the right dog for the day... zero dogs Wed- Wednesday- Agreed... it was Wednesday two days ago, and yes, I love, goddamn, my [door slamming] goddamn swinging door dog. Well, uh- What'd you get?
13:19
I think we talked about this dog. Westerns. We talk all the time. I did too. We talked about this pre-show. They've changed their menu over there, though. Yes, they have. A little bit. Yeah.
13:26
So instead of having a traditional club sandwich with ham and turkey, I had to have a honey mustard club with- Dude, that sucks... ham and bacon, and it was really pretty decent. The bacon was good. Honey mustard?
13:37
I didn't know about the honey mustard, though. Dude, that's annoying. [laughs] I mean, just honey mustard in itself is annoying. It would be really annoying to me if I didn't know it was coming. Well, yeah.
13:46
If it was on the menu as honey mustard, I would be able to prepare for it, but if it just said, you know, this sandwich and it came with honey mustard, that would just be bad. It comes with mustard.
13:56
Yeah, no, it did say it, and they didn't have the traditional club anymore. It comes with mustard. That is... Yeah. So I didn't have a choice, although I could have said, "Make it like I want it." Yeah.
14:03
It'd be a triple burger, dammit. I was surprised you didn't- You could just switch the s- strips... I was surprised you didn't-... the strips will still kick ass... I don't wanna hassle Jules any more than is necessary.
14:09
[laughs] Dude, that would have been funny. [laughs] Yeah. Like, next time. I mean- Next time I'll get wonderful, wonderful- Yeah, I'm just getting to know her again. I can start hassling her soon.
14:17
[laughs] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, that's the thing. It's a dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. Yes, you have to do this as well. You know Jules. Jules- Yeah, yep, yep. Sorry. Jules.
14:30
She looks beautiful- Uh-... as always... just had a birthday. Nice. 40. So why, why do you gotta call out people's names? Or, or ages. Okay, you called out the last time. [laughs] I just said it was her birthday.
14:40
Oh, she had- No, the last time you said- She did have the thing on that said 40... she was little. Uh, who here did not- Cougar... cougar is what she said that time...
14:46
which, which one of the pan- Who's not fa- Hey, hey, panelists, which one of you did not go to a toad race this year? Oh, that's me. Tony didn't make it to a toad race. I missed them all. All of them? All of them.
14:58
Well, let's have a little toad recap for th- I had to work hard. Oh, he flinched. I had to work hard. It sucks. Let, let's do a little toad recap because, uh, I think JK started going to Brady Street.
15:09
We will start with Thursday, Brady Street. Let's start with th- last Thursday, Brady Street. And that was good, no doubt. Quick, quick recap. Uh, hung out outside Malone's, um, right about the time of
15:26
the kid races, which was like drag race style, just back and forth down Brady, and okay, cute. And then they yo with the bar- Tarbender. Tarbender. And who were we rooting for in this? Casey. Casey.
15:44
And it just... It, it's Ben Cycles, those trikes, and- Man... one of them is like a penny-farthing, and that's what Casey- Uh, si- sidebar here, Michael... boom, boom, boom, boom...
15:56
sidebar with the s- with the penny-farthing. Yeah. Uh, because Lens almost broke his foot on his, he's- He wants to give his away... he's donating it [laughs] to the shop so other people can suffer his fate.
16:05
So we'll have a 36-inch penny-farthing here if anybody's interested in one of them. [laughs] In dying. Well, either that or buy it, 'cause, you know, like- Or dying. Buying and dying... gotta go somewhere.
16:14
I don't want it. I don't want the thing. I'm not gonna ride it. Anyway- I kinda do... again with the Tarbender. Well, you can ride it. Your legs might not be long enough, however. Exactly.
16:24
[laughs] These are the things I love in life. It's like, oh, I can't fit into this- Oh, I can't fit into this-... and this thing won't fit into me. Oh... I can't fit this death trap of a bicycle.
16:34
I, I, I totally wanted to do this for you all, but- Even he messed himself up, so that's a sign.
16:41
Well, he also blamed it on having either a six or 12 pack that he slung around his shoulder and didn't have the balance quite right, so- Yeah, exactly. [laughs] He's like- I'm not saying it's not beer related...
16:52
"I've got say." But wait, let's, let's, let's think about this. Have you ever seen Dave- Let's Lens about this... carry a six or a 12 pack? You know it was a case or more. [laughs] I mean, there's just no way. Copy that.
17:03
You know? No, no. All right. Yeah. So, so on Thursday still, the Tarbender, which was... What was that? Ta- How did that work? They didn't have to do a whole lap, right? No, it was a drag race, like back and forth.
17:16
Didn't they have to drink like eight beers or something, though? Yeah, they were drinking like hard seltzers. They had to like slam one and- Oh, that's a great way to get yourself to puke. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, whatever.
17:24
Hard. It was Brady's first time to do it, so- Yeah. I wonder- Yeah... if it's gonna be back. It should be. It, it was awesome. Oh, Tony just killed a flying object. Yeah, Biagi. I think it was a gnat.
17:33
Biagi Done Karate is coming in here. Do you ever use it with a chopstick? Ha- No. Why?... habatai, habatai. [laughs] Can you do this? Huh? Can you do that? Can you do that? No, I can't. Can you do that? I don't want to.
17:43
Does that look like... What does that look like? Can you do that? Looks disturbing. [laughs] Okay, and then we hung out at, uh, Thurman's, and then- Can you do this? Can you do that? Stop. [laughs] Can you do...
17:51
[laughs] And then outside- Greg's freaking me out, people... and then Jamo's- Pan- pan turns... and had a couple at Jamo's, and then it was like- Hell yeah... ah, we went to Sanders. Fuck was that?
18:01
And then we went to Roman Coin. Ah, 'cause- And finished it off at Roman Coin... were there dogs? It's always dogs. Dags? You know these dags
18:10
That was Thursday night So, so Friday night, you, I only met you on your porch after the race. You didn't actually make it to Shorewood, right? No, no. Even though it was blocks away from your house. No, I, yeah, yeah.
18:20
I, I [laughs] was like, like, "Fuck this noise, man." Well, it's- I really don't even wanna go over there So- What am I gonna do, just stand around and drink beer? I'm already drunk.
18:27
Well, Shorewood was, um- [laughs] I think it's been similar course for a while. It was a good- It's, it- It was good. Yeah.
18:33
But, uh, the, the coup de grace of the Shorewood race is that my buddy Joe has an apartment right on Oakland and Olive, which is one of the turns on the course. Uh, to be fair, uh, we only sat there after the race.
18:47
We did- Sure... we did stand on, you know, a couple different spots on Oakland. And, but I was surprised at that particular race that the attendance seemed to be, like, 25% of what I would've expected. Really now?
18:58
There were not that many people. Really now? No, I, I don't, uh- For a gorgeous night especially. Oh, it was a beautiful night. Yeah.
19:04
And then we sat on Joe's deck for another three hours and drank a case of- Strangely enough- With Zito and others... strangely enough- Drank, drank...
19:10
me as the only guy that loves Riverwest, I ran an intra-day, too, at Squiggy before. Strangely enough, if they would've flip-flopped, uh, the two dates, Brady and Shorewood- Might've been way better?...
19:25
both would've been much better situations. I don't know about Brady being on a Friday. Yes. [laughs] Although- Yes... don't they have enough people down there anyway?
19:35
Well, no, you don't- 'Cause it's, it, it's- No, if you're- I don't know. It's like Rush- If you're, if you're gonna annoy traffic- Well-... make sure you- Let's annoy the-... fucking annoy fucking traffic...
19:43
but, it's, it's kinda like Rush Street in Chicago maybe. Or is, I don't know if Water- whatever. It's kinda like Rush. It's got tons of bars on it, and- 21st Walker. Whoa. Rush Street.
19:54
[laughs] Not the band, just the street where all of the 4:30 AM-ing goes on. [laughs] I'm even playing it off of magazines. [laughs] Ding, ding, ding. I'm gonna take that thing off there- Ba, da, da, da, da...
20:05
so you don't have a toy anymore, Michael. Ding, ding, ding, ding. Ba, da, da, da, da. Ding, ding, ding, ding. All right, so yeah. Ding, ding, ding.
20:13
So Friday, I mean, you know, I got there basically for the start of the pro race. I wasn't there for any of the pre-game shenanigans. But I, I was moderately disappointed in the attendance.
20:23
But it is, I think they have not done it for the last two years. Yeah. So maybe it's just getting back into it. Well, and, and the promotion. But, uh- Kinda like, yeah, W24 supposedly not selling out.
20:31
You know what I mean? Well. Gotta get back in the swing of things. Yeah, gotta get back in the swing of things. So then, uh, that was Friday. Saturday was Downer, which I did not go to. Yes. But Miguel did.
20:42
Got up there for, uh, Kenny and family, Kenny Nielsen, many- And [laughs] and extended brothers family. Yeah, Kenny, the many Nielsen family. [laughs] Nice. Hello, many Nielsens.
20:56
[laughs] Well, they're scions of the East Side, obviously. Who's throwing shit on the floor? I dropped my lighter. Mm. Um- Yeah. But yeah. So, uh, so, and, uh, I don't know if they're all cyclists.
21:09
I think they all do ride bikes. Oh, yeah. I'm, I'm not sure that John riding an e-bike on the sidewalk counts anymore, but- [laughs] But yeah, Kenny rides from Tosa down to the East Side a lot. Oh, it's on. Yeah, so.
21:19
Oh, it's on. Which is a good- Exactly... it's a good, it's a good commute. Yeah, that's, that's quick. Uh, I would, actually, to be fair, it's not a good commute. No, it's a terrible commute.
21:25
It's a good distance- No, it-... but it's not a great commute. Well, yeah. And then, okay, the whatever, I ended up going out to fucking Tosa and- Which was Sunday, right? Sunday.
21:38
That was the la- that was the last day of the racing. Toad. And just, ugh, all the way down fucking Vliet.
21:48
[laughs] So was, was there- Now that, now that you did Vliet once you're- Besides, well, besides- In the, in the mid-late afternoon- Scary... it's better, it's better early mornin', I'm just saying.
21:58
Besides, uh, the Nielsens and the family at the f- What else is good around there? Well, let's, let's, let's, let's back, let's back that train up a little bit. Let's back it up. What? Back it up. Beep, beep, beep, beep.
22:09
[laughs] Just quick on the Downer recap besides the family Nielsen, what else happened over there? Did, I don't, I didn't make it. You did not make it. Um- Oh, here's one tidbit from that. No Ben's party. Yes. Uh,
22:26
Bill from Rushmore, and the Zito, and the Hun, and El Wrongo Jeff were all hanging. Obstacles. [laughs] Obstacles. Obstacles. Testicles.
22:41
Well, I mean, in the past- So- So in the past, just to, just to recap history of Toad- Toad...
22:47
and even previous racing, that Ben's Cycle Shop down there on Lincoln Avenue has always had a huge party at Downer, and it's, like, a $20 deal.
22:59
And they do- T-shirt, bratwurst all you need, beer all you need, and then they take the proceeds of that and donate it to the Super Prem, which has been as high, I, it's been a lot, 7,500 bucks or something. Dang.
23:12
But they didn't do that this year. Mm. So sad. I know. I saw, I saw a picture on a text and somebody showed me this picture of the corner and it made me sad. Yeah.
23:24
And I- 'Cause nobody was on the corner at Park and- And no, I, I-... whatever else... but no. I did not know. No. There was not the... No. 'Cause I was gonna go up there anticipating there would be that. No.
23:37
And I would be sad. But no. But somebody got to the sad first. Well, you still have Downer Liquor to get beer at. Yeah, of course you do. And bless their fucking hearts. And, and, uh, Syndics, they followed suit.
23:52
Yeah, one time- With beer and food? Well, yeah, with beer. I, one time- It, it was, like, three bucks... one time I had to run to- It was like-... Beaver Liquor in Colorado. Oh. It was pretty good.
24:00
Was that in Beaver Creek? It was in Beaver Creek. [laughs] 'Cause you have to go to Beaver Liquor if you're in Beaver Creek. I met a guy, I met a guy once who paid to have- You knew a guy...
24:08
to have a restaurant expanded in Beaver Creek just so he could have his wedding there. Paid something like a million and a half to have an expansion put on a restaurant. Just so he could have his wedding.
24:16
So it was big enough to have his wedding. Nice. He may, he may have been the guy that started U.S. Robotics. Oh. Yes. They most definitely- All right... were divorced. I'll tell you more about this after the show.
24:28
He was- A guy... I'm excited about this... it wasn't my sister, but it was a buddy's sister that married him. Oh, it was somebody's sister. Well, obviously. You'll see. Or usually- You'll see... daughter, maybe...
24:37
daughter always, but not necessarily sister No. Yeah. That's, that's the answer to the question. I- the only child. I'm nobody's sister. So that- You're definitely nobody's sister...
24:52
so that was, uh, that was, uh- Even after all the surgery... Downer Avenue. A lot of, lot of Downer Avenue action. And then finally, f- the final thing after the gauntlet run out to Tosa,
25:01
there had to have been some spectacle out there we should hear about. [laughs] Oh, out to Tosa? Yeah. Oh, God, the... Oh, the kids race. I thought- I thought it was gonna be a drag...
25:14
I thought he was gonna cry there for a second, 'cause- Well, it... Yeah. It- Except there was Luns and a couple of other people looking, going like, "Oh, my God, they're at the top of the hill."
25:25
[laughs] They were bombing down. [laughs] The first one just, fucking just bonks right into one, and like three of 'em- Like, the barrier... just kinda like skid, skid a little bit. Everyone's freaking out.
25:42
How old are these youths? Uh, 7 to 12-ish. And somehow they forgot how to turn a bike at the bottom of the hill. A, a brake? Well, no, it's a- It's a and brake. Dude- It's a race.
25:55
Why would you use a brake in a race, goddammit? Dude, dude, it's a... Okay, they're... [laughs] It's, it's a steep grade. For these kids, that's pretty heavy. Anyone need surgery? No. No, Lady Lloyd came in there.
26:12
Lady Lloyd? Yeah, yeah, yeah. As in TNT? [laughs] Dynamite. I will, I will give credit- Lloyd. Lloyd... I will give credit to the Dave Lunz on that one. Lady Lloyd picked somebody up.
26:28
[laughs] Jeez, all right. So yeah, so Toad is done. We don't have to worry about that anymore. Yep. All right. Here's some, here's some, uh, real quick ones. A, last burger at Klinger's. Pretty good.
26:41
Also, the last burger, Tony burger, at Klinger's. Yep. Apparently. Likely. Likely. Right? But it was not without effort to get that last burger, 'cause- Well, you mean to accuse me of having my grandma's wig on?
26:53
[laughs] That, that bad? I'm not making burgers. Fuck you guys. Well, there's eight of us coming. Make us burgers. Yeah, it was, it was just funny when he...
27:01
When you asked, 'cause Molly was coming, but she wasn't there yet. You're like, "I need one for Molly, too." You go, "When she gets here, she gets a burger." Yeah. Same with, same with James.
27:08
Uh, you can have your second burger after I'm done making your first burger. Yeah. Well, you can only put four on the grill at a time or something, so. You can put one- All right. So last burger at Klinger's.
27:15
Klinger's now defunct as of Monday, I guess. Delicious. Uh, I, next, I'm staying with Chewy tomorrow. He would've called in, but he's still doing hockey for some reason. You're still spooning with him.
27:26
How do they still do hockey- There is no off-season in hockey... first of all, the playoffs are over. Yeah, there's no off-season in hockey. They're not a competitive team. No, no. What are they still playing hockey for?
27:33
'Cause they are. They're just up there. There's no off-season. Playing hockey. It's, it's- I know. So in fact, tomorrow, which would've been yesterday in showtime- Yes... I have to go to- Yes...
27:43
Decorah, but he won't get there till later because he has some hockey thing going on. I'm like, "You, you gotta be shitting me." Have you not watched Doctor Strange and the Multitude of Madness? No. No.
27:54
Well, you might wanna- I'm not a Cumberputts fan, but... I said it in a Christopher Walken way, dude. [laughs] All right. Maybe get you there.
28:03
I'll bet Tony won't have any idea about this one, but let's just delve into the ass crack at Nomad real quick. Ooh. What? The ass crack at Nomad.
28:14
On our way to the show, he made me look at the balls that were on the sidewalk, except there was an ass crack at Nomad. [laughs] It was a guy with a butt. Oh. Was it our neighbor?
28:27
Was it my neighbor who showed you- No, wait, what? No... his balls that time? No. Some other guy, but it wasn't BCA either. No. It was just a random guy with a non- He was part of the BCA- In a plumber's crack? Yes.
28:39
BCA, BCA crack. Zach Cult. Yeah. He's Cult of BCA. BCA is near. Yeah. He's near. Wisely, Michael did not mention his name three times. We did not have to say- Thank God. Yeah, I don't ever wanna see BCA.
28:52
All right, here's another one. For anybody that needs a small ice cream truck, we have a small arriving very soon pre-season, like within the next week probably. New? Small, new ice cream truck from the Surly. Surly.
29:07
Small, though. We'll get our regular allocation sometime towards the end of August or September, whatever, of other ones, but this is a special. They had an extra, so they said, "Greg, do you want it?"
29:18
I'm like, "Yes, I do." Thank God for Surly. But yeah, so small. Um, and here's another one about S- That's, um- Okay, while we're on the-... all... while we're on the Surly thing- Yeah... uh, Chewy up there. Exactly.
29:31
Chewy, the, the guy- Chewy... the guy I stayed with last night, uh, had a friend who had an- Such a smugler...
29:37
a Surly Ogre stolen, and he's looking for a large Surly Ogre to replace said stolen Ogre 'cause this gentleman is large, and he needs a large Ogre. So if anybody out there got an Ogre, contact Chewy.
29:51
Also, neither of you know what this is about, but I'm gonna just ask it anyway 'cause I'm gonna put- What?... the picture in there. What the fuck is this car? I got a picture of a car. Okay. It's sitting there.
30:01
I'm gonna show you the car. I don't know what that car is. It's not the Homer Mobile, but it's- It's pretty close. [laughs] That was, uh... Yeah. I, I almost missed out on that one. Yeah. Ah.
30:13
You gotta fuel the fire here. Mm, joy. I don't know if we have any more events coming up we should talk about real quick. I think we kind of ex- we probably oughta f- oh, you know what else we got?
30:22
We got the Riverwest 24. Yeah. Plus, Tony just ruined it, so now we gotta leave the room. Uh, and thank you very much for listening, everybody. Uh, we'll, we'll talk at you next week. Fucking beans. Beans.
30:40
[upbeat music]
