Speaker 1: No fancy music, everybody, no fancy intro, no fancy song.
• 0:06
Speaker 1: This is raw. According to reports, a day after Bill
• 0:11
Speaker 1: Belichick misses the Hall of Fame on his second try,
• 0:15
Speaker 1: Eli Manning has missed out on the Hall of Fame.
• 0:18
Speaker 1: What if the frick is Canton doing? New York Giants
• 0:23
Speaker 1: quarterback fell short of the cut, making his second straight
• 0:27
Speaker 1: time falling short. Eli Manning, When will he get there?
• 0:35
Speaker 1: He misses it again? Okay, his regular season stats were subpar.
• 0:41
Speaker 1: I hate to tell you that he liked but it's true.
• 0:44
Speaker 1: But look what he did for New York City. Look
• 0:46
Speaker 1: what he did those two games. He had a great defense,
• 0:50
Speaker 1: that's true. But that scramble alone is a Hall of
• 0:54
Speaker 1: Fame scramble to throw it to Tyrene's habit until remake
• 0:57
Speaker 1: it the catch Eli Manning missing the Hall Hall of
• 1:00
Speaker 1: Fame again. Here. I was about to talk about how
• 1:05
Speaker 1: Tim Walls and President Trump are trying to make good
• 1:08
Speaker 1: for the better men of Minneapolis. But this is New
• 1:12
Speaker 1: York centric right here, as I wear my giant sweater,
• 1:17
Speaker 1: right now, as I got a picture of Eli signing
• 1:20
Speaker 1: helmets at Fanatics Fest and wore that guy's number ten
• 1:26
Speaker 1: everywhere I went, back in the day, a childhood hero
• 1:33
Speaker 1: misses the Super misses the Hall of Fame. According to
• 1:39
Speaker 1: Ahoo Sports and others, calm me down, Ryan, this is
• 1:46
Speaker 1: pissing me off. Eli Manning should be in the Hall
• 1:51
Speaker 1: of Fame. He deserves to be there. Ian O'Connor writes,
• 1:59
Speaker 1: El Manny will have to wait at least another year
• 2:02
Speaker 1: for induction in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Ryan,
• 2:05
Speaker 1: Do I have to meet him first? That would have
• 2:06
Speaker 1: to happen. I don't understand it. The former New York
• 2:10
Speaker 1: Giants quarterback did not make the cut after being one
• 2:13
Speaker 1: of the fifteen Modern Era finalists for the second consecutive year.
• 2:17
Speaker 1: Manning is one of six players in NFL history to
• 2:22
Speaker 1: win the Super Bowl MVP Award multiple times. That's up
• 2:27
Speaker 1: there with Montana Bradshaw, Starr Brady, and Patrick Mahomes. Yes,
• 2:36
Speaker 1: I understand his regular seas records was one seventeen and
• 2:40
Speaker 1: one seventeen. But the guy brought something to the city.
• 2:46
Speaker 1: I remember when he came into the league to replace
• 2:51
Speaker 1: a Hall of Famer Kurt Warner who was injured at
• 2:55
Speaker 1: beating up and whatnot, and he had a rough start
• 2:59
Speaker 1: that first playoff game against Carolina. I was at where
• 3:03
Speaker 1: they got shut out awful, but then Coughlin calmed down,
• 3:07
Speaker 1: he finally coached the kid right, and Manning led these
• 3:12
Speaker 1: guys through. I mean, it wasn't just a super Bowl.
• 3:15
Speaker 1: Both times he had to get him through Tampa. He
• 3:18
Speaker 1: had to get him through. We beat Dallas in the
• 3:21
Speaker 1: playoffs that year. And don't forget about the Green Bay
• 3:24
Speaker 1: game where it's freaking below freezing and times has to
• 3:30
Speaker 1: make those field goals and he does, but Manny got
• 3:34
Speaker 1: them there with a stellar defense. Then what about that
• 3:40
Speaker 1: twenty eleven twenty twelve team. I've had him on. Bradshaw
• 3:44
Speaker 1: on this show a couple of times, though he didn't
• 3:47
Speaker 1: want to come on last time because he's like, this
• 3:49
Speaker 1: team's not to talk about. Hopefully that changed with Harball,
• 3:52
Speaker 1: we'll see. But Bradshaw was part of that magic. Brandon
• 3:57
Speaker 1: Jacobs was too, manningham Nicks. The list goes on and on,
• 4:05
Speaker 1: and I'll tell you I remember that play where he
• 4:08
Speaker 1: threw to the sideline and many him made that incredible
• 4:12
Speaker 1: catch to keep the drive going. And of course Brady
• 4:17
Speaker 1: two years in a row, two years super Bowls in
• 4:20
Speaker 1: a row against the Giants, he misses in the end
• 4:23
Speaker 1: zone twice because that defense stepped up for the Giants.
• 4:28
Speaker 1: But Manning deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
• 4:33
Speaker 1: This is outrageous, Belichick, Brady, Okay, you can talk about
• 4:37
Speaker 1: the de Flakegate and other things, but Manning did a
• 4:41
Speaker 1: clean He played the game clean. He was a little goofy,
• 4:46
Speaker 1: but he played the game clean. He also had that streaker.
• 4:51
Speaker 1: I'll never forget that. He had that streak up two
• 4:52
Speaker 1: hundred and ten starts, which is the third longest streak
• 4:55
Speaker 1: ever has But another year, we'll have to wait. Just
• 5:03
Speaker 1: like waiting for a Super Bowl title to hit New
• 5:05
Speaker 1: York again, just like waiting for a World Series to
• 5:09
Speaker 1: hit New York again, Just like waiting for the Knicks
• 5:11
Speaker 1: to actually bring on Malario Brian again. We just are
• 5:16
Speaker 1: in a waiting pattern. I'm sorry, I forgot to mention
• 5:20
Speaker 1: the Mets. Just like the Mets fans are now waiting
• 5:22
Speaker 1: for one Soda to bring them a World Series to Queens,
• 5:27
Speaker 1: we have to wait. I'm getting too old for this shit.
• 5:31
Speaker 1: I'm getting too old. I want to see Manny in
• 5:34
Speaker 1: the Hall. I would like to see another Super Bowl,
• 5:38
Speaker 1: or another World Series, or an actual NBA championship, or hell,
• 5:43
  Speaker 1: even a h a Stanley Cup Again, sometimes I'd like
• 5:50
Speaker 1: one gol slown away from not seeing anything, So of
• 5:54
Speaker 1: course I want to see it now while I'm here
• 5:57
Speaker 1: living and breathing. And of course, now this includes basically
• 6:03
Speaker 1: petitioning for third times of charm for Eli Manning. It
• 6:07
Speaker 1: shouldn't have been taken. I get the first ballot, Okay,
• 6:10
Speaker 1: you could make that argument, but the second try, the
• 6:17
Speaker 1: second try, it fumes me up because what he did
• 6:27
Speaker 1: was he brought a Super Bowl to New York for
• 6:30
Speaker 1: the first time since nineteen ninety one. They had not
• 6:33
Speaker 1: won since nineteen ninety one. And not only did it once,
• 6:39
Speaker 1: he did twice in four years, which I know Brady
• 6:42
Speaker 1: have the dynasty and all that, but two and an
• 6:44
Speaker 1: out of four is still a damn good accomplishment. And yeah,
• 6:49
Speaker 1: Coughlin settled down, he coached, they sent His more relaxed
• 6:53
Speaker 1: approach helped everybody out those two Super Bowl runs. I mean,
• 7:01
Speaker 1: I want to hear what Lindsay has to say. I
• 7:02
Speaker 1: want to hear what Ryan I say. I want to
• 7:03
Speaker 1: hear what license plate guy Joe Rubac has to say.
• 7:06
Speaker 1: I want to hear what jazz meets sing the Giant
• 7:09
Speaker 1: singer has to say, Nathan, all my media friends, what
• 7:13
Speaker 1: say you today? What say you as Eli Manning again?
• 7:19
Speaker 1: Missus Canton. I was ready to Ryan, you don't know this.
• 7:22
Speaker 1: I was ready to book my flight to Canton this year.
• 7:24
Speaker 1: I was ready to go see this man being inducted
• 7:27
Speaker 1: into the Hall of Fame. I was about to buy
• 7:29
Speaker 1: the plate ticket, only to find out not this year.
• 7:35
Speaker 1: Third time's a charm for a two time Super Bowl winner.
• 7:42
Speaker 1: I don't even care who makes it this year. I
• 7:44
Speaker 1: really don't, because it should be Eli, There's no doubt
• 7:49
Speaker 1: about it. It should be Eli Manning going into the
• 7:57
Speaker 1: Hall this year. And another thing, I am going to
• 8:03
Speaker 1: hopefully get to talk to him in person for that
• 8:05
Speaker 1: excess and tell him you deserve to be in the Hall,
• 8:09
Speaker 1: and maybe that'll get him in there. But Eli missing
• 8:14
Speaker 1: the cut again, This is ridiculous. It is almost like
• 8:23
Speaker 1: Don Manningly missing the Baseball Hall of Fame again. It's
• 8:29
Speaker 1: ridiculous for another straight ballot, two New York legends are
• 8:35
Speaker 1: not in the Hall. Is that because they don't care
• 8:37
Speaker 1: about New York? Is that because they don't think highly
• 8:41
Speaker 1: of the accomplishments of both Manning and Manningly And Manning respectively.
• 8:47
Speaker 1: I got it. Andrew Jones a great defensive ballplayer. He
• 8:51
Speaker 1: would climb the seat of the defence at a turner
• 8:55
Speaker 1: field and make those unbelievable plays. He probably killed the
• 8:59
Speaker 1: Mets changes if you times too with his You know,
• 9:02
Speaker 1: his glove and his bat. Came to the Yankees, had
• 9:05
Speaker 1: a great few little months here, a couple of years here.
• 9:11
Speaker 1: But manningly should be in there also. Eli Manning should
• 9:16
Speaker 1: be getting his uh bust, I guess because you know
• 9:22
Speaker 1: they make the bust of his face in Canton this
• 9:26
Speaker 1: year he battled injury. I'll never forget being at the
• 9:33
Speaker 1: game he came back against the Cowboys in twenty seventeen,
• 9:37
Speaker 1: and the fans, Yeah, they were tough on him at times,
• 9:39
Speaker 1: A lot of times. A lot of times we thought
• 9:43
Speaker 1: we could make it beyond where we were in that
• 9:45
Speaker 1: regular season mode. I do also think Plexico burst jinxed
• 9:51
Speaker 1: the rest of Manning's career. You shoot yourself up at
• 9:54
Speaker 1: a club when your team is six and zero a
• 9:58
Speaker 1: year after winning the Super Bowl. Come on, that set
• 10:02
Speaker 1: the Giants on a really bad down swing even beyond
• 10:05
Speaker 1: that second Super Bowl. I don't care what you say.
• 10:07
Speaker 1: It was a jinx. It was a jinx, and Burris
• 10:10
Speaker 1: actually caught the game winning touchdown in a eight if
• 10:13
Speaker 1: you remember, if you remember. But after that nothing really
• 10:22
Speaker 1: felt the same. The momentum felt killed, and I just
• 10:34
Speaker 1: I just am blown away. He should have been in
• 10:39
Speaker 1: the Hall this twenty twenty six a second time. We
• 10:48
Speaker 1: all have to wait a third time. It's almost disgraceful.
• 11:02
Speaker 1: It's almost disgraceful. I just you add the tensions of
• 11:13
Speaker 1: all this stuff going on around us and the freezing temperatures,
• 11:18
Speaker 1: some good news would have been nice today. Some good
• 11:21
Speaker 1: news of Eli Manning making the cut and going to
• 11:25
Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame would have been nice. But no,
• 11:29
Speaker 1: we have to keep being tortured in the sub freezing
• 11:31
Speaker 1: temperature world worried, and keep waiting and waiting like we're
• 11:36
Speaker 1: waiting for another championship to come down the cane of Heroes. Yeah,
• 11:42
Speaker 1: but the Liberty was there. I understand. I love the
• 11:44
Speaker 1: Liberty run. That was a special run. But the Big
• 11:48
Speaker 1: Four have not had a championship since the Giants won
• 11:53
Speaker 1: that second Super Bowl. We are five thousand plus days.
• 11:58
Speaker 1: We're probably gonna hit seven thousand days by the end.
• 12:00
Speaker 1: By the end of twenty seven, or twenty six. This
• 12:03
Speaker 1: has been it's been torture. What would I like to
• 12:07
Speaker 1: say the Jets winn a Super Bowl in my lifetime?
• 12:09
Speaker 1: Sure that would be interesting, because I I do have
• 12:14
  Speaker 1: a soft spot for the Jets. I think it's it's
• 12:16
Speaker 1: just stupid the way they operate over there on the
• 12:20
Speaker 1: asside met Life Stadium. But this beyond not seeing a championship.
• 12:26
Speaker 1: I think not seeing Eli Manning hit the Hall of
• 12:28
Speaker 1: Fame hurts the soul of little Alex. And what I
• 12:32
Speaker 1: mean by that is the kid that wore it Mannags
• 12:35
Speaker 1: jersey from oh five till at least twenty seventeen, and
• 12:42
Speaker 1: I have a managed jersey in I have two of
• 12:43
Speaker 1: them in my closet right now. That kid is hurting
• 12:48
Speaker 1: right now. And that is why that kid opened up
• 12:53
Speaker 1: a podcast twelve fourteen or twelve fourteen years ago to
• 12:58
Speaker 1: vent about this stuff in college. Now in adulthood, we
• 13:04
Speaker 1: got to be disappointed again by now the football writers,
• 13:08
Speaker 1: the NFL beat sportswriter. I cannot comprehend it. I was
• 13:16
Speaker 1: gonna COMPREHENDI. I've gone about thirteen minutes on this, but
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: I'm I'm fired up, and I don't have time to
• 13:23
Speaker 1: say well, who should be in and not? And I
• 13:26
Speaker 1: don't have time to do that. But if you see
• 13:31
Speaker 1: the stats, he is, as written by the Sporting News
• 13:37
Speaker 1: Billy Hayden, he's one of six players and then history
• 13:45
Speaker 1: win the Super Bowl, play MVP multiple times. And I
• 13:50
Speaker 1: know Patrick's still young, but he'll probably be a Hall
• 13:52
Speaker 1: of Famer. Tom Brady Cheating's acide seven time Super Bowl winner,
• 13:57
Speaker 1: probably gonna be a Hall of Fame obviously, But Hannah
• 14:00
Speaker 1: Bradshaw star all Hall of famers. So what makes Eli different?
• 14:06
Speaker 1: His average regular season where sometimes he was injured. That
• 14:12
Speaker 1: shouldn't stop him from deserving his rightful place in Canton, Ohio.
• 14:19
Speaker 1: That should not stop him or stop the writers from
• 14:21
Speaker 1: voting him in. But I guess it'll have to be
• 14:25
Speaker 1: third times of charm. But you know what, in lieu
• 14:33
Speaker 1: of this, we're gonna drop the fanatics link to his
• 14:35
Speaker 1: twenty eight Super Bowl jersey, the one I love so much,
• 14:39
Speaker 1: that first of ball in Arizona because that was just
• 14:42
Speaker 1: a classic memory game. And I'll drop the jersey so
• 14:45
Speaker 1: you guys can have a piece of that history in
• 14:48
Speaker 1: mourning that he did not make it a second time
• 14:52
Speaker 1: and just wear it all year, just wear Manning all year.
• 14:55
Speaker 1: Make the point, show up to the Giants stadium in
• 14:58
Speaker 1: and say, hey, football writers, look look at us. We
• 15:01
Speaker 1: all want to lie in the hall. Listen to the
• 15:04
Speaker 1: fans for once and not stupid analytic bowl crap. Okay,
• 15:13
Speaker 1: so one seventeen one to seventeen record, he won two
• 15:18
Speaker 1: Super Bowls in the most incredible ways, dramatic ways, Eli
• 15:27
Speaker 1: Manning ways, and I mean Peyton Mannings in the hall.
• 15:34
Speaker 1: His brother should join him sooner than later. Well we
• 15:39
Speaker 1: all can be here to see it. So by your
• 15:45
Speaker 1: Eli jersey now where it all year long, make the case,
• 15:49
Speaker 1: make the point that the fans want to lie in
• 15:53
Speaker 1: and they'd all listen to us for a third time,
• 15:55
Speaker 1: in the third time because his accomplishments hall of fame
• 16:00
Speaker 1: worthy and we should help him have one leg up
• 16:06
Speaker 1: on the ballot next year.
