- Shaun: But Jim, I think you're right. I think that the the movies are probably gonna be a pretty big Jen: So interesting. I think it's gonna be plenty. Yeah, I think it's gonna be plenty. Barry: I got opinions on both of them. I got opinions. Shaun: So I think that'll probably all just kinda fit in there. ⁓ I mean, I think that's really it. ⁓ she did not say it was all gonna fit. She said, damn, where are you thinking putting that? All right. Ready to get it out? Ha ha Barry: Get my thing. That's what she said. Jen: ⁓ dang. Barry: dinner. this guy. Y'all crazy. Shaun: Better get a get a better, better get a get there, better get a get a better, better get a kid there. Jen: The tip of the tongue, the teeth, the lips. Shaun: The time to title loops, tip the done to title loops. Barry: I didn't really have anything happen this week. The beginning might be quick. Shaun: Mm. Every time. Barry: for me. I mean, we might go off on some rabbit holes, but I really don't have much to talk about for my week. I'm just letting y'all know. Jen: I don't know, we say that every time and then last two or three times it's been half the episode. Yeah. ⁓ Shaun: Are we gonna talk about the movies during the week portion or do we want to talk about our weeks and then talk about the movies? Okay. Jen: No. Yes, I think. Barry: Feel like them movies after the weeks. Shaun: That's where we usually get trapped when we get into our weeks, like we start to talk about the topics. So if we talk about our weeks, then we can move into the topics. All right, cool. Nice. Everybody ready? Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: Yes. Yes. Jen: Yeah. Yeah, see, that option. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Make sure I muted my phone all right. I did. All right, cool. Jen: ⁓ Hopefully mine won't make another fart noise this time. Shaun: Fart noise. ⁓ yeah, that's right. Jen: from last time. Shaun: Hmm, don't see how. Barry: Yeah, it was crazy. Shaun: Alright, well, let's get to it. This is episode number eleven. I I've learned that I don't have to put WWW anymore. Like I can just put bald enough to say it and it works now. So I don't know if that was yeah. Jen: ⁓ ⁓ really? Maybe they updated their thing or something. Barry: Say it again. Shaun: Like I don't have to put w w ⁓ never mind. I do on here. Barry: ⁓ for the website. I didn't hear what you were referring to. This is episode 11. It is episode 11, ⁓ We just did 10 last week. Jen: This is episode 11. This is episode 11. Shaun: I don't on my phone. But I guess I'll do on my computer, that's weird. Jen: I did? ⁓ Shaun: ⁓ maybe 'cause I didn't put the whole freaking name in there. That could be part of it. Bald enough to say. Barry: That would help. Jen: Mm-hmm. It. We say it. Barry: We say it. Shaun: Yeah, so I do still have to put the W W W. That's weird. I wonder if it's just certain devices or if it starts to learn it. ⁓ well, I'll still say it. Barry: Mm. Jen: Yeah, I don't know. Barry: I mean, I feel like it's implied no matter what. Even if you don't say it. Shaun: Yeah, but if they don't put it in this hmm pause. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Hopefully they're smart enough to understand that if Jen: I was not. Barry: Okay, then say it Jen: I was like, ⁓ it's not working. Shaun: Right. Same. I say it. Everybody hype? Everybody ready? Jen: Yeah. Barry: Better on my... Shaun: That actually helped. Yeah. Slap myself every mo every day. Jen: ⁓ my god, don't do that. Shaun: Well it's okay. Jen: Yeah. Yikes. So now we know what he likes. He likes a little ⁓ Shaun: I some smell and salts. Nah, nothing like that. Nah, can't do that. Barry: makes a little slap on the face Jen: I like how we have to do this every time. Shaun: Every time it never fails. ⁓ man. Okay. Jen: Three, two, one. Shaun: Hold on. Barry: He ain't ready. Shaun: I'm ready now. Jen: Action. Barry: Alright. Shaun: Alrighty everybody, welcome back to episode number eleven. Bald enough to say it. How are y'all doing today, man? If it feels like it's been forever, but I know it hasn't been very long at all since I've seen y'all. Y'all doing all right? Jen: Bye. Literally hours. Barry: ⁓ I've seen you a lot this week. Well, I say a lot. It's just been a lot in the last couple days. Never. That's not what I'm saying. No, a lot is not not too much. ⁓ my gosh. Y'all crazy. Hashtag you crazy, bro. Shaun: Right? It seems like we've seen each other more. Has it been too much for you, Barry? Is that the problem? God. It's ridiculous. Already. Just started. 30 seconds in, you're already over it. It's like God. Man, well, welcome back. I'm not crazy, dog. You're crazy. We're both crazy. We're both a little crazy. But Jen: Yeah. Are we trying to say something here? I know. Thank Barry: feel like everybody's a little bit, they got their own version of it. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. 100%. ⁓ Jen: Everybody's got their own crazy. For sure. Shaun: At every ⁓ at a point in time, like we all hit those streaks where we go a little bit off the rails and get crazy. It is what it is, though. We're all human. It's all good. Well, if you are coming back to visit us again, welcome back. So glad to have you back here. If this is your first time checking us out, welcome. We are glad that you have finally decided to join us. You see, Barry's got the shirt on, got the signs behind us, got the mugs behind us, all of the different things. Jen, still nothing behind you. It's all good. She will at some point. Don't be like Jen. You go and get your merch. You have you have your merch behind you and your offices. ⁓ but as we like to do it, starting off with our week, catching up with each other. Jen, how have you been, madam? Barry: Get you some. She will. It will. One day. Jen: It'll be there one day. One day. Hahaha Good. It was a really fun, long week. I was in Atlanta for the majority of it. ⁓ I came back and now I like don't have a voice. Apparently, I don't know, woke up with that this morning. ⁓ Apparently, I've been hooting and hollering. I don't know. ⁓ But it was a good time. It was ⁓ not what I expected, but in the best way. Barry: ⁓ yeah, that's right. Shaun: That's true, yeah. Had too much fun in Atlanta, right? Hashtag party. Goodness. Barry: Been having too much fun. Yeah. And the ATL shawty hashtag party life, bro. good pleasant surprise huh those are nice enjoy a pleasant surprise Jen: So yeah, it was very much a pleasant surprise. Especially when you go in thinking like, ⁓ could be really dull, you know? It could just be draining. But no, it was a really good time. It was a really good time. The only thing I regret about it is I didn't have time to hit up the aquarium, the Georgia Aquarium, because it's like one of the biggest in the United States. And I really wanted to do it, but it was so far from us. Barry: ⁓ yeah, could not be fun. Yeah. Yeah. That's dope. Shaun: Mm. ⁓ Barry: ⁓ yeah. Hmm. Jen: It was going to be like a hundred dollar Uber just to get over there. So I was like, all right, nah, can't do it. Barry: That is a far far away. Shaun: What ca yeah, how far was that? A hundred dollar Uber is crazy. Or was it just peak hours? Jen: Yeah, it was like, it could have been peak hours. When I first maps it, it said it was only a 40 minute drive. But then when I went to actually order it, ⁓ it was like an hour and 20 minutes. So there had to have been like traffic or something because you went straight through like downtown Atlanta to get there from where I was. It was like on the other side. So I'm guessing that that's what it was. So I was like, no, I better just stay. So sad. Shaun: Jeez. Mm-hmm. Barry: No. Shaun: Hmm. Well I'm glad you had a good time. I mean you can always go back and hit the aquarium. Yeah. I can stop there on your flight to Spain. You just have a layover in Atlanta and then there you go. It's it's the busiest in the country, right? Yeah. Barry: Maybe a family trip. Jen: Yeah. ⁓ huh. ⁓ huh. Yep. We definitely will. You big right? You big right? Who knew that airport was so big? Not me. It's huge. It is huge. has a whole subway system underneath to take you from terminal terminal. Yeah. Barry: It is an international port. ⁓ it's ginormous. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's where we flew into. went to the Masters in April to to ATL. It is. Yeah, it's nice though. It is. They do well there. Jen: It's huge. Very large. Shaun: Yeah. So no magic city? Barry: She didn't Shaun: Didn't get the lemon pepper wings. Jen: No, I did not. There we go. We'll make a list. Shaun: Have to do that next time too. Barry: Hashtag magic city, bro Shaun: Yes. Hashtag lemon pepper lou, dog. Gotta go and get some of the wings. ⁓ Nice. Well good. We're glad to have you back here stateside. Or I guess not technically stateside. I mean you you never ⁓ ⁓ but Texas, ⁓ You never left the country. I know, right? I'm already trying to put you out of the country. Jen: I do love a good lemon pepper though. So I'm sure I would love to. We have. other yeah I was like a still in the country but okay. Barry: I mean Texas. You thinking she was already going to Spain, man? Getting you out of here. At one point, it's one of the only states that can say that. There's not many. Jen: Yeah, I mean Texas was its own country at one point so he just really hold it on to that. Shaun: Well I mean Right. That's true. What about you, bro? How you been, dog? Barry: I've been good man. Feeling a little tired. I didn't eat enough food yesterday bro. Jen: Why would that happen? ⁓ no. Barry: bad choices. Shaun: ⁓ Yeah. Barry: My stomach's just been off all day from yesterday. But yeah, yesterday was really my week. I really didn't do much this week. Yeah, pretty chill. I didn't have a match this week. Two of the other people played on our little golf league. But this week's the last week on Wednesday. And then it goes to the playoffs, so see what happens. Jen: you Shaun: Sure. Jen: Hmm. Mm. Yeah, y'all making it or what? Shaun: Josh first. Barry: Would they have an upload of the scores from Wednesday, but yeah, we're still in first as ⁓ a check the law earlier. So we'll see. We I really don't know, bro. This is my first year ever playing in it. So I don't know what the prizes. I think it's just bragging rights. Maybe you might get a little gift card somewhere. ⁓ I don't know. I mean, there are. Shaun: Can you tell us what the prize is? ⁓ really. ⁓ nice. Hmm. Well hopefully you get How big is the league? Barry: Six teams? Yeah. Each team. Now there's random different sizes. We have six players on our team. I think we're one of the smaller teams too. I feel like some teams like have eight or nine players. But everybody who wants to be eligible to play in the playoffs has to play at least four rounds. So you kind of got to. Jen: and four people on a team. Barry: Like you can't just have two people play every, I mean, I guess you could if they're going to, but that would be tiresome, bro, to play every week. So I don't know. We'll see. I don't even know if I'll play in the playoffs. I mean, I'm just, I show up when they tell me ⁓ so. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Hmm. So if they're like, Hey, we don't need you this week, you're just like Barry: Yeah, I haven't played since, yeah, I didn't play this past week and I won't play this upcoming week. So I've played for maybe five rounds all throughout the summer. It started like in maybe May, middle of May, beginning of June, somewhere around there. Jen: gonna this one out. you Shaun: Dang. Feel it, dude. You're gonna play in the playoffs. Barry: I I like it's fun. I don't feel too much pressure when I play that because like you said, I mean, yeah, we're playing for score. But I mean, whenever I go out there, I keep track of my own score. So you're trying to win no matter what. I mean, I know. I feel like golf is a sport. You just try and play against yourself, really. I can't control what those other dudes do. So all I can do is go and play and play my best round. And it don't matter if they beat me, they beat me. Jen: it home for the team. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: That's what it is. That's what Barry: Golf gods give it and they take it, bro. Shaun: Yeah, I mean that's what sports is. It's you versus you. Not you versus the opponent. You are the opponent. So Yeah. So be better than yourself every time you get out there. Barry: Yeah. I am my biggest adversary, especially in golf. Such a mental game. So. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: I feel like that's something that the that coach that we saw yesterday probably told to his skin. Like you're your biggest opponent. Hashtag. Gosh, man. Hashtag get off the stage, bro. My goodness. Barry: Hashtag long speeches, bro. Long speeches. That was impressive. Dude, that dude went, he went long. He was long-winded, bro. He had opinions. But yeah, I mean, yeah, like I said, yesterday and this morning, that's really, was the majority of my weekend and week. Jen: probably said, yep, if we would have been paying attention. Nah, he wanted that mic. He had something to say. Shaun: Mm. So nothing happened Monday. You say Shaun Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I was like, yeah, I guess yeah, I forgot what you, ⁓ that was fun. my brain is just so tired now. Shaun: Yeah, something did happen Monday. Yeah. That was fun. Jen: Ha ha ha. Shaun: Who you telling? I've had a long week. ⁓ I was unemployed this week, so I I had plenty in the best way. In the best way possible. ⁓ but yeah, so I had plenty of time to do all kinds of stuff. ⁓ went to Houston and got to see some some buddies that I don't get to see very often. So it was nice to go and just hang out with them for a day and Jen: you Ta-da-da! In the best way he's employed. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: was going say that's a bit exaggerated, but yes, technically, yes. Shaun: ⁓ just gonna have a guy stay to chill and kick it. I made it in and out of Bass Pro Shop without spending insane amounts of money on stuff that I want but don't need. They're a trap, dude. It's such a trap. Yeah. Which is why I don't shop in person. They do. Yeah. Jen: to me. Barry: I haven't been to one of those in forever. Jen: Yes. Barry: I mean, most stores are. But they know what they're doing. Bass Pro Shop know what they're doing, I mean, it's like Bucees too. They know what they're doing when you're trying to walk in there, man. You're going to come out with something. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. I'm mad at Bucees right now. Shaun: Like that Denzel Washington mean. ⁓ I'm leaving here with something. Yes. But no, the one the the one that I did want, the only one that they had was the display. So everybody had been touching it and playing and I was like, nah, I don't want that. Yeah. Nah I was like, I don't want that. I want it fresh out of the box, but so Barry: Yes, I was exactly thinking that bro. Hashtag I'm leaving with something. Jen: you Barry: I mean if you're really looking for a deal, yeah, but most times no. Got them high standards, right? Jen: He wants to peel that plastic off. That's the best part. Shaun: Yes. Yes, absolutely. But made it there and back with no incidents. ⁓ and then Monday. Right? Yeah. Usually good ship. It's not too far. It just depends on the yeah, it just depends on traffic and construction. As long as there's and there's not a lot of crazy construction right now in that area. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: That's good. Houston's usually a good trip, I I 10 is pretty smooth. ⁓ on wood. Jen: Yeah, I feel like it's not Barry: Yeah, now 10 is usually pretty smooth. Yeah, it's like once you get closer to Houston and out in 1604, outside of San Antonio, that place is a hot mess. But luckily, both of us, we get off before that. Shaun: That area's ridiculous. Like Jen: I'm in. Shaun: Yeah. Even right there in Seguin like that part of tan is ridiculous. Yeah. Yeah. So if you all listeners know that area, stay away from it because there's so much traffic and so much construction. Stay away from that area if you can. Barry: Yeah, it's starting to back out that way. Mm hmm. Yeah, they're doing some stuff out there right now. Jen: Steer clear. Barry: you One those things that just shouldn't bother me, because I have zero control, but I can't not let it bother me sometimes. It gets so frustrating. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: you know. Shaun: Am I so I think what aggravates me so much is that I'm not even in a rush to get anywhere or to do anything. I just hate being in traffic. So I immediately get frustrated and angry and that's never a good time for anybody. But ⁓ yelling all the time. I was yelling I was yelling at people today. I was yelling at people coming back from I went to Selma, ⁓ coming back from there. It was Barry: Now. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: That's what I'm saying? Nah, I figured they ain't gonna change. For what? They ain't do nothing. Yeah. Jen: You out here yelling at people in the car? Barry: You know there's an academy here in New Braunfels now. Okay, I got you. got you. Okay. Shaun: Yeah, they didn't have it to pick up in store. Yeah. So I wasn't able to get that, but it is what it is. But yeah, so that happened. Went there. ⁓ had a date on Monday. That was really cool. Jen: Mm. Barry: It was a hot date. Shaun: Hashtag guy date with Barry. Jen: Mm-mm. Shaun: Got to hangout. Jen, you can't even be upset about it though. Yeah. You're an ATL, having a good time, enjoying it. Jen: Don't tease me like that. I know, I wasn't even here. I wasn't even here. But still. Barry: Right, you were all having fun in ATL. You said you were having a great time. You didn't even look at our text, so. Shaun: Yeah. You were ignoring us like always. Jen: I did. You're wild. Barry: No, you did. I was surprised you answered our questions so quickly. I was like, she's not even gonna see you till tonight. Shaun: Right. Really she won't see this until like nine thirty tonight and then she'll respond to it. ⁓ man. So that was good. Jen: Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Barry: Nah, I was like, she ain't gonna respond until it's way too late. Jen: Well since somebody wants to be like, ⁓ Jen doesn't text back, I've been trying to be a little better and just check it. Shaun: I mean Barry: You are. Every now and again you go through phases. It's all right. Shaun: I'm saying. I've just heard through the grapevine that we're not the only ones that you leave on read Take it back. Hashtag take that step back. ⁓ Jen: And you can tell that grapevine to vine it on down the line. Thank you. Barry: Mmm, see ya. Walk it back. Jen: walk it back. Barry: Yeah. Jen: Get back, get back. You don't know me like that. Barry: Yeah, went to a little bar grill. It was, ⁓ it was a trivia night. That's why we asked you that we weren't really playing. We were just like playing on the sideline because yo, they were going so slow. They, I, they were probably there till nine o'clock like answering. ⁓ my God, bro. It was playing like a whole song. They were played like a whole song, but it was a lot of older folks. And now they say older. I mean older than me like fifties. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. That's cool. Mm-hmm. Jen: Like, yeah, can we answer these? Shaun: Yeah. It was like three, four minutes between each question. Jen: Really? They didn't have a timer or something? Shaun: Whole song. Yeah. Jen: ⁓ Shaun: Yeah. Jen: It didn't have a theme. Shaun: It was like a fifty five minute trivia night is what it is what it looked like. Jen: Okay, so y'all enjoy senior night. Barry: It's... yeah. We did. We didn't get there crazy early. Freddy C's It's in Creekside. It's a cool little spot, man. They some good happy hour stuff. Shaun: I mean, by accident, yeah, kinda. But no. Jen: Where was it at? Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Hmm. Okay. Shaun: That's cool. Yeah. Jen: Yeah, if they have another one we should go. Barry: I mean, I don't necessarily have to hit up trivia night, but I think what was it? Tuesday or Wednesday is ⁓ spicy bingo or something like that. So this is a place that I was talking about a couple of weeks ago when we had the cream or no cream debate. Hashtag if you know, you know. Jen: Yes. I trivia. Shaun: Yes. Something, yeah, some kind of bingo. Jen: What kind of spicy bingo? What makes the bingo so spicy? ⁓ huh. Yeah. If you know, know. Shaun: ⁓ IYKYK there you go. ⁓ Barry: Right? ⁓ But we started there. And so some of the people that we were with were telling us about the spa. I think it's spicy bingo. I think it was bingo. But like you're like so the shapes that you make on the card are suggestive or like sometimes the stuff that you win is inappropriate things. So something like they said it was real interesting. I mean. Jen: Interesting. Shaun: I mean it can't be inappropriate if it's at a bar though. Jen: No. Barry: Some people might be offended if they didn't know what it meant. Shaun: That's true. I can see that. Jen: showing up waiting for some hot sauce. Being handed something a little different. Barry: Like, yeah, not understanding, right? Get another side, another type of sauce. Shaun: Getting getting another kind of hot sauce. ⁓ man. So yeah, we'll make that happen. We'll have to go back as a collective, as a group. ⁓ what else? Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Mm-hmm. That was it. Like I said, that was it for me outside of yesterday and this morning. Shaun: Yeah. I mean, yesterday was great. Got to hang out with you guys again. Shout out to everybody who made it out yesterday. Had a little bit of a a get together, a gathering. ⁓ appreciate you coming through. For those of you that couldn't make it, sorry we missed you. ⁓ next time we'll have something and we'll have you all out. We'll make sure that we can get everybody out together. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Yeah, we appreciate y'all. Definitely. Jen: Yes. Barry: Yep. Next time. Yeah, it was a good day. Besides, like I said, I just didn't eat enough food, Yeah, I mean, the second spot you were out there glistening, bro. It was the place we went to always feel like it's kind of awkward inside. Jen: Good night. Shaun: Yeah. I was hot. Ain't gonna lie. I was hot. Jen: We should have went inside. Shaun: Yeah, it's kind of a weird shape. Or it's like super small. Barry: It is and the setup is just very, yes. And the bar takes up a lot of it. And so if it's crowded in there, it feels awkward when you sit down in there. It gets a little overstimulating. Yeah. Yeah, we did stay for a while. But. Jen: It is very small Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Once the sun went down though it was cool. Yeah. Yeah. So once the sun was down it was good, but it was nice. It was nice to hang out and chill with y'all, talk, kick it, had a good time. And then today why not why not? We can still do it. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Won't be able to do that much. Just joking. You're just going to be less available. No, he did say that. Jen: Whatever, yesterday he was like, I'll never see you again. Shaun: Yeah. I mean, there are people that I will never see again. I accept that fact. It is what it is. It's part of the transition. It always happens. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Hmm. No, 100%. There are gonna be people that you do not see again. But I don't think anybody that showed up yesterday is gonna be one of those people that you just never see again. Barry: It's a chapter. It's a new chapter. Yeah. Shaun: Probably not. Yeah. Jen: He said, I don't know, I'm a little on the fence. Barry: I maybe. No, I'm joking. I don't know his relationship with those people, Jen: Nah, I feel like everybody Shaun: Yeah. No, I don't know. I think for the most part, like even if I don't see them, like we'll still talk or we'll still have like some form of a connection. Yeah. So that'll be good. You never know. You might run into people. Let me know. Like I ran into somebody today. Didn't say anything. Yeah, that's true. Yeah. Shout out to Briar. You got buddies all over the place. We'll never be Ray, but you got buddies all over the place. Jen: That is true. Barry: Yeah, I'm still keeping contact connection. Yeah, you might run into him from time to time. Yeah. It happens, bro. Yeah, I ran this in my buddy who I would hoop with. Shout out to Briar, bro. Yeah, he got I mean. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. But that's also, I mean, I feel like that, yeah. I feel like. ⁓ yeah. It was great. Yikes. But this is what I'm saying. feel like adult relationships are different. think expectations need to be easier with adult relationships because I feel like people want you to be, it's either you're, see you every day, I talk to you every day, whatever, or like you don't exist in my life. And I feel like that's, there has to be some sort of medium there. Yeah. I don't know. Shaun: You happen to run into and you happen to see. Barry: I have a lot of casual people. I'm always open to those types of relationships. Shaun: Yeah. Like yeah, there are people that I could not see you for a decade and then if we happen to see each other and we talk, like it it is what it is. Like that's cool. Yeah. I don't put expectations on people. Barry: Mm-hmm. Yeah, it's cool. Yeah. No, I try not to. I feel like I used to be that person who was just always like trying to keep people like connected with me and stuff and it gets tiring, man. So it's a lot of work to like maintain that type of like Jen's saying like a we're super connected. That's a lot of effort, man. And I mean, it shouldn't be a both a two way street. So I mean, but I feel like, as you get to be an adult. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It does. Yeah. Shaun: Very tiring, yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: You start to see like, mean, I'm going to naturally have more ability to maintain this relationship versus some people you just don't. And it's nothing that they did wrong or that you did wrong. It just kind of works its course and the path just separate some. Yeah, yeah. Families or whatever jobs like moving them away. Yeah. And I mean, like we said last time, bro, nothing is permanent and everything's temporary. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Well. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Especially when people get busy with being married and having kids and whatever it is. Yeah. You never know. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Life is fragile. So you never know when something's gonna change. But yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: Very. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Nope. Jen: The only consistent is change. Shaun: The only consistency is inconsistency. Jen: There you go. Barry: facts. Shaun: Fair. But that was my week. That was basically it. I mean, other than today. We had another another date. Which is why Barry's tired of me at this point. I mean, we've seen each other three times this week. Yeah. So I mean it is what it is. I'm I'm okay. I'm not Jen: Mic drop. Ahem. Barry: No, I'm not tired of you. I'm just tired in general. Jen: Ha ha ha ha! Barry: We had to see each other three times. Jen: He's trying to get that Ray spot. He's trying to get to that level. Barry: Okay. Shaun: ⁓ believe me, ⁓ I have no Barry: Yo, don't honestly don't really talk to Ray nor do I see him that often. Shaun: I have no chance of ever being in that spot, so it doesn't even matter. Barry: I mean, it's just I've known him for so long. But I mean, you and me hang out more than me and him. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: I get it. And I appreciate that. I mean, that's the same thing with me and my little brother. Like, you and me hang out more than me and him. Barry: ⁓ yeah, yeah I don't see my brother that often either. Shaun: But I've known him for what? How how old is he now? Twenty yeah, 25 years, 27 years. I mean, we're not biological though. So, no. But I mean, yeah. It's okay. I'm I know my place. I'm okay with it. I'm okay with it. You're not gonna hurt my feeling. Today, went to go see the Odyssey, which was Jen: Yeah, his whole life. Yeah. Yeah, I feel like. Barry: But since you're brother though, it's a little different. ⁓ okay, I didn't know that. I got you. I mean, I don't know. You have your picked family and your blood family, bro. Jen: You better get out of Anyways, tell me what you guys did today. Barry: Yes, sir. Shaun: Really a good movie. Although I couldn't make it I couldn't make it through the entire thing. I had to hit the bathroom. No. Nah. Yeah, I stay awake. ⁓ I was like the time. Yeah. Yeah. No. Jen: Did you fall asleep? Barry: I would say overall, no. Yeah, I had to hit up the restroom. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, He will stay the way or at least I think he did. I didn't. I never wasn't like staring at his face and he wants to sleep. That's on him. Yeah, no, I was it was good. I'll give it that it was good overall. Jen: He fell asleep? I know, okay. Okay. Just watching and watch it. Shaun: Yeah. I did not go into it expecting it to be a who's who of Hollywood though. yeah. Barry: There was a lot of big names in it, bro. A lot of big, cool names. It was a lot of just one offs those that were cool too. But yeah, it was good. Jen: ⁓ really? I for sure win in knowing that it was a Who's Who in Hollywood. Shaun: Yeah. Hmm. Jen: Who was your favorite standout? Barry: My favorite, stand out. Jen: Like somebody that's performance just was like, oof, that one. Barry: I mean, Matt Damon did good as Odysseus. It's just I've that was one of my favorite like stories grow like books growing up. So I to Shaun's point, I tried to not go with expectations, but I did, unfortunately. And I'd say it didn't live up to 'em But I'd wanted I would have rather saw some parts differently, just knowing how the book was. Jen: Mm-hmm. ⁓ Mmm. Like what? Barry: The Cyclops part, I feel like that was a big important part in the story. Because it kind of showed, like in the book, he talks to the Cyclops. And he kind of almost is arrogant to him once they poke him in the eye. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: And then he tricks the Cyclops in Homer's Odyssey by telling, he says like the Cyclops asked him when they're getting on the boat, like who, you know, who did this, who wronged me? And he was like, tell them nobody. Like that was, so he tricked because he didn't want the Cyclops to know who he was. So he was very like, and so to that point, I think I enjoyed the humility of Matt Damon, but that's very different from. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Like even at the end, mean, spoiler alert, like him, like, sorry, we're just going right in. Yeah, you might want to go and fast forward for a while. Hit that 10 second fast, the year 15, whatever. But ⁓ I enjoyed the humility of him in this one for sure. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Spoiler alert for all of this, by the way. Yeah, if you haven't seen it, skip this part. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah, if you haven't seen it, I'm gonna need to skip past this. Mm-hmm. Okay. You definitely saw some of the arrogance coming in a little bit later. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Every now and again, and they did play on it. So that's why I say I just and but to that point, this is a different. It's his it's Nolan's interpretation. So he made the characters the way he wanted to. And I enjoyed it overall. Like I say, I think Matt Damon ⁓ great Tom ⁓ He was solid as a kid. I hated Rob Pattinson's, but that's who he's supposed to be. He played the ⁓ Yeah, he played that role well. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: telling. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. And did a really good driver, yeah. Jen: That yeah, that means you did a good job. Yeah. Shaun: That's how he's supposed to be, yeah. Barry: So that was cool to see Travis Scott and his little cameo at the beginning. John Leguizamo was almost amazing. Very good, dude. He did a really good, yeah. So. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And the end. So good, right? So good. Yeah. I mean, I knew no matter what, it would all be good. But I did, when I heard that he was in it, I did think to myself, like, hmm, I wonder what that's going to look like. Like, what character is he playing? And like, is his vibe going to be? Like, I couldn't really imagine it. And ⁓ my gosh, yeah, he was amazing. Shaun: ⁓ absolutely great. Yeah. Barry: Mm-hmm. He nailed it, Yeah, he played that character so well. Yeah. But yeah, and I liked how there was some like mythical because it's Greek mythology. It's not real. It's not history. Like this is not a real story. It's funny that people they're getting all up in arms about it saying it's too woke and stuff because, you know, and we're in the in the Greek in Middle Eastern part of Jen: He did so well, So well. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Jen: which is so funny that people were getting upset about it. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yes. Barry: of Europe. What are we really thinking? Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yes. Jen: Yeah, it's a story about gods. Like, yeah, what you think? Yeah. Shaun: We're talking about Zeus and Hades and yeah and and yeah. ⁓ Barry: in Hades and it's around Egypt and all of those areas like what are we really upset about anyways but no I thought they were all great I mean it was interesting and it was no I mean as long as it was I never got too bored Jen: Yeah, truly, what are you upset about? I think that's one of my favorite parts of it. It is, especially with that story, like Barry, I feel like you are one of a small group of people. Well, I don't know, maybe people, there's more people out there that enjoyed it. I feel like everybody has to, that's how I read it. Yeah, you're supposed to know. Yeah, but it is a little bit dry, like the material when you're reading it, it is dry. And so if he were to have done it in a linear fashion where it was just like, Shaun: ⁓ no. It is. Barry: I just read, I feel like I had to read it for school, but I enjoyed it. And I'm not a, mean, supposed to, it's true, Shaun: We were supposed to. I didn't. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, it could have gotten boring. Jen: It could have gotten so boring and so repetitive and like, he's stumbling upon another crazy thing. Like whoop-de-doo, when are we getting to the end? Kind of thing. Like it could have been really gross, but the way that he wove it in and out was really well done. Cause I didn't feel like I was having a hard time tracking where I was or what was happening. But yeah. Yeah. Barry: Yeah. No. No. Yeah, he did a good job of laying it all out. I would agree. Shaun: Yeah, I feel like he does a really good job of doing that in his movies. Like he does a lot of movies like that where he's able to Yeah, he Barry: Yeah. Yeah, he does. Yeah. Like it does take you all over, but he controls you and he guides you and it's not, you're not, you're not lost. Jen: ⁓ 100%. Like inception, like when you're, but it's laid out well enough. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. I thought that was amazing. Shaun: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: As complex as it can be, he still makes it easy to follow. Shaun: Yeah. Even with Tenet, I feel like that was one that a lot of people were just like, Yeah, I loved it too. Yeah. They were like, I don't get it. Like, what's happening? What's going on? He was. Yeah. Denzelsen, yeah. Like such a good movie. He's a he's a fantastic director. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Dude, I love that movie and people were, yeah, dude, it was such a good one. Yeah. No, he was, you know, and Denzel's son. No, no, he was really good. I didn't know that was his son until it was like three movies deep, like in his. Yeah, I had no clue. But I read that he wanted it to be, though he didn't want people to know that he was Denzel's son. He wanted to build his own name. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So good. So good. Robert Pattinson was in that one, too. Yep. Yeah. Who did so good? ⁓ my gosh. Yeah. Shaun: Really? Yeah. He can get in his bag. Jen: Mmm. Yeah, I knew it was going to happen. I'm sure. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: I'm sure. Shaun: Which is fair. Yeah. Barry: And I agree, yeah. But I think he has. He's a phenomenal actor, He hasn't been in much lately, surprisingly. I haven't seen him lately. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Mm. Jen: I the last thing that I saw him in was that movie with Zendaya. ⁓ I'm not going to remember it, he was recently, he was in a movie with Zendaya. I'm going have to look it up. Yeah. Shaun: I feel like I don't watch movies enough. Barry: No, he was in one Amazon movie. It was like about AI robots or something. It was pretty deep, pretty dope. I can't remember the name of it, but it was good. Shaun: Yeah. I mean the Odyssey's really good though. I I kind of do want to see it in IMAX. I don't Yeah, just to see the difference. Is it? Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: just to see the difference. Jen: It was so good. Yeah. I mean, I haven't seen it in regular, so I can't measure it to something. Barry: Hmm. Shaun: Yeah. I I do just wanna make the comparison because he pushed for IMAX so much. I just wanna see like how big is the difference between a standard theater and an IMAX theater and what the actual visualization of it turns out to be. Yeah. Especially during the times where they're like over like the water and stuff like that and Yeah. And when he's in Hades, like what that looks like with Barry: Yeah, he did. Jen: Yeah. Barry: If it was, yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I'm sure you're gonna get more. Mm-hmm like on the boat and stuff. Yeah. Yeah ⁓ Yeah, no, it's all good man. It really was Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The fighting scenes too. Yeah. What did you guys think of the ending and like the overall tone? Because I just want to see if you all picked up or felt the same thing that I did. Shaun: Everybody out there. So Yeah. Picked up or felt. Barry: ending the overall tone. Jen: No? Shaun: Are you thinking sequel? Is that what you're Barry: Do think he died? Do you think that was him sailing off into... Jen: No, no, I just, no, no. So I think it's just, ⁓ so you hear, I feel like when I read the Odyssey and when I've heard of like other retellings of the Odyssey and stuff like that, never did I get like this ⁓ modern undertone of like, let me play this into what's happening in the universe today. And this is just the undertone I got, especially at the end when they're on the boat and he's talking about with ⁓ Penelope. About singing the songs and they have to keep seeing them so the next ones know but the whole tone of the movie was that humanity was breaking down and like the humaneness yeah was breaking down but there's a way back and we just have to keep and I felt like it was so like I didn't expect that undertone of like the modern world today and Mm-hmm and what's happening, but I definitely think I don't know Barry: Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ yeah, they were losing their way that the order of Zeus or. Yeah. ⁓ OK, so just saying I got you. I could see the connection, the parallel. Yeah, I could see that I mean. No. ⁓ 100%. I see that connection. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah, in the moment I didn't think about it, but now that you say it, yeah, I could definitely say that too. Jen: I don't know, I felt like it hit me right in the chest at the end. was like, ⁓ I did not expect that from a retelling of the Odyssey to be like that. I don't know. I really liked it. Really enjoyed it. Barry: Nah, it was really good. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, and I like how they kind of unfolded like him getting his memory and making the connections. Like at the end, when he was telling Penelope, like I knew when we went and destroyed Troy that I was not the person who you fell in love with. Like I didn't want to come back as that person because we lost our way. So I like to see that in the way that they unfolded it all. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Jen: Yeah, but I think, yeah, like it was disgusting. I literally couldn't watch. I was like staring at the bottom of the screen in the corner because I could not, I couldn't watch it. It was so gross. Barry: Circe part was crazy. That was crazy, That stuff was wild. That was funny. Shaun: Yeah. Why couldn't you watch it? Jen: ⁓ no, was a little... Yep. I can't even fight it. That's fine. That's true. Couldn't do it. Couldn't do it at all. Barry: She's a softy when it comes to that stuff, Hashtag weak stomach. Shaun: Well, that's true. Welp. Yeah. Barry: Now, I enjoyed the movie for sure. Yeah, we had to get up at one point. I don't think we missed anything. Yo, I tried as long as I could, I really did. Jen: Yeah, I thought it was good. The only, the only thing I did not, I sat myself down. was like, I don't care if I have a freaking, I'm, mm-mm, we're not missing a second. But I feel like the only thing that I didn't like about it, and I don't, I'm sure it was a director choice, and I have my theories about why he chose to do it. Because I feel like throughout they wove really well, like the dialogue and the language and how they spoke with like, okay, they're not saying. Shaun: I had to. I yeah. I I I did as long as I could. Yeah. Jen: Doth does have, you know what I mean? Like they spoke in a modern way, but still felt in the time. The only, the only nitpick that I have is I hate the fact that they made Tom Holland say mom and dad. And I don't know why. I don't know why, but it just, every time he said it, it removed him from the character for me. It's mother or father or something. But the way he was saying like, ⁓ dad, here you go dad. I was like, Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: No, in a modern tongue. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Mm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: What would you have preferred him to say? Shaun: No, mother and father or something? Yeah. I mean he wasn't saying it like that. Jen: Yes, he was. Yes, he was. It just, like when he's throwing him the sword things through the hole at the end, he's like, here, dad. Like, what? No. That's the only thing I didn't like. Barry: That's a bit of I didn't know. mean, I get what you're saying, but I guess it didn't bother me. Yeah, I went through him this way. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Here you go, Dad. That tone that you're putting on. Barry: You definitely put a high pitched tone in that voice, Jen. No, he did not. Jen: because that's what he sounded like. I mean, that's also just my voice, but... Barry: No, but you're making your voice high. Shaun: Jen, do you ever Yeah. Do you ever wish that your voice wasn't so deep? Jen: Am I? My voice? Do you think I have a deep voice? I mean, I probably do right now because I've lost my voice, but I don't think I have a deep voice anyways. So thank you for that. Thank you. Shaun: Yeah. ⁓ ⁓ okay. Well no, I was just asking. You're like, hi her dad I thought maybe there was just a little bit of peace in you were like, Man, maybe you wish your voice wasn't so deep all the time. Jen: Nope. Barry: ⁓ Jen: No. No, I feel like I have a... fine voice. Barry: reset my camera bow. It's getting all blurry. Now my camera got all blurry. I have to close it real quick. Yo, I don't want to be blurry. I don't know it ain't working. I know for real. Jen: Gosh Barry, get it together. Yeah, get air. That's right, Shaun. Shaun: You trying to give us you give me a high five? I'll give you a high five, too. ⁓ my gosh, this guy. Jen: That's so funny. You're still blurry. Shaun: Technical difficulties. Sit back. Why are you all up in the camera? There you go, see? Jen: Yeah, sit back. There it goes. He just likes to be close to his mic. Barry: Here we go. Shaun: There's that there's that mug. Man. So yeah. Odyssey. Really good movie. ⁓ my gosh. Barry: Yeah. Jen: But anyways, back to the movie. Not my high or low pitched voice, my manly voice. ⁓ Barry: I mean, it ain't as low as ours, so you're good. You're still the alto. You're still the alto amongst the bases. What were you in choir? Shaun: Yeah. We can we can definitely tell that you do have a feminine voice. Jen: Yeah, leave me alone, John. Shaun: There you go. Jen: There you go. There you go. ⁓ I was a soprano too. Barry: soprano. Jen: Mm-hmm. So thank you very much, Shaun. My voice is just fine. Barry: Okay, she said screw your low voice comments, sir. Jen: I wish I was an alto because if you know me and you know my love of music, you know I'm obsessed with harmony and I'd rather sing harmony than I would the lead. altos always get the harmonies. So I would have loved to have been an alto. But no, I was a soprano. Barry: you Shaun: mean. Jen, you have a beautiful singing voice. You do. Jen: What I know don't backtrack down. Don't backtrack now. Don't try to come and just lay on the niceties. You've already said it. You already said it. Anyways, back to the movie. Barry: You do have a good boy. Shaun: ⁓ my goodness. It's all good. Well I mean you well hold on. Talking about music, you all know who Monica is, right? It was. Music was really good in there. Wasn't expecting Travis Scott to have a cover, but I mean Yeah, it was dope. Barry: And yo the music was good in the movie. Yes I know who Monica is. ⁓ Jen: So good, ⁓ my gosh. Barry: No, his little outro song was dope. Yeah. Anyways, Monica. Shaun: Yeah. Monica. Okay. So Monica, you know her song, ⁓ my gosh. Jen: Do you know her song? Sing it out loud so we can join you. Shaun: I'm I'm singing it in my head right now. Barry: I don't know your song. Shaun: ⁓ walked out of my life. That's what it's called. Or out of my life. I don't know what the actual song. Okay. How old do you think she was when she sang that song or when she had that music video? You probably know the music video, like the brown suit, the white shoes. Like, yeah. How old do you think she was? Jen: Hmm Barry: Yeah, yeah, Yo, excuse me, she was like super young when she came into music, I know though. Jen: Well, I was going to say like 19, but now that you're making it extreme, you're like, yeah, probably. What? ⁓ my God. Wild. Mm hmm. Yeah. At 14. Shaun: Well, that song in particular, Nightingale. Barry: No bro, she was probably like 16 I bet you. Dang, that's all like she came in real young, I remember that. Yeah. Yeah, for that young of a person, yeah. Nah, she was, she was phenomenal. Shaun: Fourteen years old. That voice was incredible. I mean, she still has an incredible voice. Yeah. But 14, she looked like a straight-up auntie in that video, too. At 14? Barry: Watch out bro. She did look good with the short bob. Shaun: That short bob hair, the brown suit. I was fourteen. There's no way she was fourteen in that, but sure was. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-mm. Barry: I mean, yeah. Jen: And then people wanna yell at Beyonce for having Blue Ivy as a backup dancer on her tour. Mm-mm. Shaun: ⁓ I mean, people wanna talk about nepotism all the time. Nepotism can be a really good thing sometimes. Not all the time. But if the kid Yeah. Barry: If the kid, I was gonna say, if the kid wants to do it and they're down to put in the work, why not give them? I mean, yo, people get hands up all the time. Yeah, I don't, I get it if they didn't, like they don't, I don't even wanna say earn it, because I mean, yes, more times than not, they're not gonna technically earn it, but, yo, in today's world, what are you talking about, bro? Like, people get handed stuff all the time. Jen: Hmm. ⁓ Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. People get hand to stuff all the time in today's world. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Hashtag commonplace. Jen: Yeah. Barry: So if they step in and do what they need to do, yeah. Jen: Yeah, well, I think that's what she's trying to teach her too. It's like if you want to be in this business, you're going to really commit to it in this way where I can still have you there. You can learn the lessons and put in the work and work through all exactly. ⁓ But you're just not going to. Does she? Yeah, she has some songs, but I don't think she has like a full thing though. I don't know. I'll have to look it up. Barry: Why? mean, this is what it takes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, start early if this is what you want to do. Shaun: Doesn't she already have an album too? Or I know she has some songs. I know she has some songs. Maybe not an album. Barry: I have no clue. I don't keep up with it. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Okay, maybe not. Maybe it's just your songs. But I mean, when your mom is Beyonce and your dad is Jay-Z, yeah. You're gonna be around music all the time. Yeah. So you're gonna build that love for it. I feel like music is it's it's kind of like being this is don't hate me for this. But I feel like it's kind of like being a teacher. Like you have this passion for it. Barry: Hmm. Jen: Yeah. Crazy. Literally. ⁓ huh. Yeah. Barry: You're probably going to be a little musically inclined. Some capacity. Well, yes, you're going to be around it for sure. But you're... Yeah. ⁓ Jen: I'll take. No. Barry: Hmm. Shaun: And that's why you end up going into it. You're you don't necessarily go into it for the money. You go into it for the passion of doing what it is that you've wanted to do. Yeah. Barry: I mean that's what most dreams start out with, If you can live a dream that pays your life, why wouldn't you do it? I think most people would do that if they could. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Why would you not want to? Yeah. Jen: Beautiful. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Just gotta be passionate. Be very passionate about these things. Yeah. That's always been my problem, is that I've never been passionate enough. I've never had anything that I've wanted to want to do that went down that path. But it is what it is. Someday, someday I'll figure it out. Yeah. But another movie that I also watched, Obsession. Jen: I just have to be more passionate. Barry: It happened. It's what I've heard, It's all good. It is what it is. I feel you well. I feel you well. Jen: You'll get there, Shaun Barry: Yeah. Jen: Dun dun dun. What did y'all make me watch? And for the viewers that don't know me, I do not do horror. I do not do anything even close. Nope, even some thrillers, because some thrillers, like it's fine, most of them are fine, but some of them are even like a, no, it's not for me. Yeah, and then just this is how much I love y'all that I tortured myself by watching this terrible movie. Shaun: What what's that? First of all Barry: Spence thrillers. How I feel about Love Island, Jen. Jen: Okay, well, we're even. We're even. Mm-hmm. For sure. For sure. Shaun: Thank you, thank you so much. Barry: I mean, I feel like we're gonna do that throughout this process. It's gonna happen. We're all gonna go in and just do the best we can. So thank you, Jen We appreciate you. Shaun: Yes. We're all gonna do things we don't wanna do. Yeah. Jen: Here we go. I will say I literally watched it by like skipping 10 seconds through the whole thing. Barry: It wasn't that bad, bro. Shaun: It wasn't bad at all. There wasn't really anything scary about it. There were jump scares, but I feel like that's in everything. Yeah. Jen: It was disgusting. Barry: No, there was jump scare. I feel like that's what a lot of horror tries to do today is just jump scare. Like, yo, if your story can make me feel scared to walk in the dark, then I'm going to respect your movie. But that's few and far between today. Like you got to mess my brain up before I'm like when I really guess I can't even think of one. I you say that. ⁓ the documentary I watched on. Jen: Okay, so before we keep going talking about Obsession ⁓ movie has done that to you? Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Hmm. Barry: on Netflix. think we talked about it in the group chat. Exactly. That's what's going to scare me more than some crazy dude's dumb ass story. Jen: Yeah, because those are real. ⁓ Barry: No, so back to obsession. My gripe from just the intro 30 minutes stayed for the entire movie. was just the plot just was like. ⁓ Shaun: Yeah. Okay, so here's Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Here's the thing about what you mentioned in episode 10. Yes, she did ask, do you like me? She did pose that question to him. It was not in the tone that you led us to believe that tone to be. She was not so at that point when she asked it, she was she was frustrated. She was angry. When she's angry and frustrated, you can't tell her something like that. He wasn't really playing a game. Barry: Yeah. Jen: I don't agree. Barry: What do you mean? She was about to end it. She wanted to stop it. Yeah. Okay. Cause he's playing games bro. She knew he was playing games. Yes he was bro. I don't care. Shaun: I don't know. I feel like he was just at the point where he didn't know how to tell her. Barry: No, he's just one of them dudes that is scared to say what's on his mind. Shaun: He didn't. He is. It is. Jen: And that's a him issue and he needs to not be like, the only way this is going to work is if she does something about it. And if I have to do this magical thing, like. Barry: That's a him issue. That's the thing with life bro. Shaun: But if he's in that mindset, he's not gonna come out and say, like when she's like, Do you like me? He's not gonna come out and say, like, yeah, I do. I don't think it is. Not for that kind of a person, it's not. For us, sure, maybe it is because we're bold enough, like we will actually do it. I didn't even mean to go down that road. But yes, we are bald enough to actually say it. Like we would actually say something at that point. But for him, that's not his. Jen: you Barry: That's the perfect opportunity to avoid like and that's it it is Jen: Yeah. Barry: That is just... bald enough to say it, Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: That's not his personality. That's not his character to be able to say it in that moment. But like, ⁓ yeah, you know what? Let me get over my fear right now in this moment and tell you. Well no, she was way out of his league. Of course he shouldn't be going out after her. Yeah. Barry: So then he shouldn't be going after that chick then. Then he shouldn't be going after that chick then. Exactly. So again, a him problem. He is the fault in all of this. It is his fault. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. ⁓ Mm-mm. Mm-hmm. No. I also think the fault in all of this is his best friend. Because what do you mean you were over there sleeping with her and trying to give him advice about how to... Yeah, like all this could have been avoided if you would have just told your boy, actually, I've been... Yeah, I've been doing that. Yeah. Shaun: He is. Yeah. Barry: ⁓ his best friend didn't do him. Yeah, he's wrong for that. When we found out, I was like, dang, bro, you did your homeboy dirty. Yeah, if you're just like, yo, I've been smashing her every now and again on the side, bro. No, you got to like if that's your homeboy, he should tell you that he should let you know. Yes. Shaun: Nope. ⁓ No. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Nah, if you're going after a jump off, that's on you. No Barry: Yo, they went to high school together. What do you say? It's not a jump off. They've known each other for multiple years. The jump off phase is like if we just see them out and we're like, yo, that's the chick I want, then it is. Then it is a jump off. No, bro. No, no. No, he should have. His homie should have told him. No. There are so many ways that this should have not happened. But the... Jen: Are you kidding? Yeah. That's like his best friend. Shaun: Then he would know. Then he would know. He would already know that there's something going on between the two of them. Jen: What? No. Yeah, he should have told him. 100 % and all of that could have been avoided if he wasn't a gross person. Shaun: Mm. I don't know. I feel like I feel like y'all are putting y'all are putting the blame on him for not telling her, but not putting the blame on him for asking his friend. Like why would he not ask his friend the same way that he's been not talking to her? Jen: Yes, I am. Barry: Yes, I am. No, he shouldn't have... No, no, no, no. Jen: What do you mean? What are you talking about? I'm lost. What? Barry: Now what are you saying? He should have... If they've been smashing, why would he? Shaun: Why would he not ask his friend if he's not messing with her? Yeah. Jen: Because how would he know? Yeah. Why would he assume that? Because if you're my best friend and I'm sitting in a cafe, yeah. Shaun: How would you not know? Barry: They were sneaking around. The chick, Sarah said it, that they've been sneaking around behind your back. Shaun: You can tell. You can tell when you're around. ⁓ my goodness. Barry: Nuts? No, some people are good at, yo. Jen: No, no. I would never, but I would also never assume that that's what my best friend is doing, especially if you're sitting in a cafe helping me try to think of to go talk to this person. Yeah, absolutely. But that doesn't matter. he, yes, he knew, the best friend knew the amount of love this guy had for this girl. Barry: He's sitting there trying to tell you right trying to coach me up to go talk to this chick and You know, you're smashing her bro. No, that's wrong Shaun: Because he's not trying to be in a relationship with her. Barry: So then he needs to say she's not the relationship kind of chick. She's out here smashing me, bro. Yeah. Yeah, no, bro. No, bro. Shaun: But why would he not ask? Jen: If I'm telling my best friend, I'm obsessed with this person, I love this person, and you're helping coach me to like be able to eventually tell her and come to find out my best friend has been sleeping with this person, well, that, no. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: No. Yeah. Shaun: Because he's trying to do exactly what you all wanted him to do. He's trying to give him the courage to actually talk to her. He was. Barry: But no, why would if I'm Shaun No, he didn't want to do it. Yeah, no. Jen: No, he wasn't though. No, he wasn't because what no, because once they got to trivia and he was telling him like, I'm going to do it, he was like, don't do it. Don't do it. No, then he's not wanting him to do it. No, Shaun you need to go rewatch that movie. Because as soon as he he looked at him at the trivia night thing and said, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it. He was like, no, don't not right now. No, no, And then that's when they ended up. Shaun: Well yeah. Barry: No, bro. No, he did not. He did not, fool. No. Yeah. Shaun: He did want him to do it. ⁓ my gosh. I feel like y'all need to change your perspective on that movie. Barry: He tried to play it off and be like, yo, I don't want you to ruin our night tonight. He's like, I look forward to it. He was coming up with excuses for him not to tell him while in the same breath trying to coach him up to tell him now, bro. Who? Jen: Yeah, not to tell her. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: And what was and what was he doing? The main character. What was he doing? Okay. So he was trying to learn how to talk to this chick while at the same time simultaneously not telling her when she asked him. Barry: He was being a ⁓ But his, yo, Shaun, okay, Shaun, Shaun, this is where if you wanna like, no, bro, let's put it like this. Me and you, we're early 20s. I'm not married, you're not married. Me and you, we've known this chick, or we're in a group of friends. You're smashing her behind my back and then I come to you like, yo, I'm feeling her, I'm gonna try and go with her. You're not gonna tell me. No, it's not, no, no. Jen: Well, also how old are you? Come on now. ⁓ You're not gonna say anything? No it's not! No it is not! Shaun: That's different. That's different. That's different. That's different because we're different people. We have different we are different people. First of all, I don't feel like we would ever be in that situation because if there's because well, no, I'm saying like even if like if we were in the same exact situation as they were in, you wouldn't be like him. If there was this chick that you're interested in, you're gonna shoot your shot. Exactly. You're gonna shoot your shot. Cause shooters shoot. He's not a shooter. Barry: No, bro. Nah, bro. Well, I mean, duh, it's a hypothetical, but. Jen: No, it's not. Barry: Well no, I would shoot my shot for sure. ⁓ I would, yeah. Shooters shoot, bro. Hashtag shoot. Shaun: So he's got a trainer who's trying to teach him how to shoot. Jen: But that has nothing to do with what his best friend did. has zero, who his demeanor is has nothing to do with his best friend. Yeah. Barry: But no, but yo, but that's what I'm saying. he, if they're friends, really, he shouldn't be teaching him to go after that girl, bro. That's not the one you shoot your shot at. If she's out here smashing dudes behind your back and not telling him. He, she friend zoned it him, bro. That's like, they've said that multiple times. So why, if you all knew that she had friend zoned you, ⁓ is your homeboy would you not say, yo, Shaun: I don't feel like that's on the best friend to tell him though. Jen: Shaun, I'm so concerned. Shaun: I don't know. Yes, I Barry: A. I'm smashing B. She's friendzoned you. Don't waste your time on her. Sarah wants you, bro. What are we doing? Jen: Exactly. 100%. Why in the world is the Shaun: Okay, the exact same question to you. If you know that she has friend zoned you, why are you going to tell her in the case when she asks you, Do you like me? Why are you gonna tell her that yes, you like me? If you know that she's already friend zoned you. Barry: Cause he still had feelings, obviously he'd wish the wish. Shaun: There you go. He still had the feelings. So if he had the feelings, he could have asked about her. He could have asked and like, hey, do you know if she's involved with anybody? Is she talking to anybody? Is she doing anything with anybody? Same thing happens if she were if he were to tell her. Barry: ⁓ again, I still feel the honus is on him for sure. It's all on him. But his homie should have been his homie and told to, bro. It is on the main character. It all falls to the main character. Jen: No. Yeah. should not... My best friend, shout out to all the best friends out there. If you are my best friend, you should never be expecting me to come ask you something specifically like that before you tell me. If you're doing something like that and I'm saying I like this person, especially to the depth that he did, and you're sitting there not telling me because, well, you never asked. Shaun: Hashtag besties. Barry: Hashtag besties. Jen: Lie by omission? Like what? That is malicious. Yes. Absolutely not. That should have been immediately like, ⁓ my God, I'm so sorry. I didn't know you had feelings for this person, but I, we've been sleeping together. I'm so sorry. Like I didn't know. But for him for years, they did this for multiple years. Barry: No bro. Yes Shaun you talk about we talked about that a couple episodes ago bro lying bio mission is lying nonetheless. Yep no Jen. Hashtag get em ⁓ Shaun: ⁓ No. What is the benefit of him telling him that? He's going he's going to kill his best friend's heart. Like he's going to crush his best friend's heart. Barry: multiple years but... Jen: He's a good person. Barry: To let him know that he's wasting his time on this chick, bro But that's what you do as a best friend Sometimes you gotta keep it real, bro You would keep it real with me Shaun. You know, you would so his best friend should have kept it real him. I I I do I don't know. It's all on the main guy Well, obviously they all might have lived Jen: And sometimes that is what you have to do. Yeah. Shaun: I don't know. I don't know. Now I would keep it real with you. Jen: Mm-mm, mm-hmm, how to present. Shaun: I feel like there's zero good that could have come out of that. I exactly. I feel like it's all on the main guy. Yeah, that's true. ⁓ I don't know about that. Cause he probably still would have done it because he was so obsessed with her. Jen: No. Yeah, everybody could have lived. Literally all of them. Barry: Yo, that dude was, I mean, there were just some crazy parts in that movie, but. Jen: Mm-mm. Shaun: Well, that's what I wanted to ask. So who do you think and again, if you've made it this far, we've already blown the story for you, but but spoiler alert Yeah. Who do you think was the obsessed one? Barry: Yeah, sorry. If we talk about movies, y'all, there are going to be spoilers. Just, that's blanketed. Jen: Yeah, they all die in the end. Barry: I mean... Shaun: Because even after he turned her, he was still obsessed. So who do you think the obsession was? Barry: ⁓ no, he is definitely the obsession, but it's just showing how his obsession came back and killed him. She was never obsessed with him at all. Not till the... Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah killed them all Yeah, I know and you could tell cuz when she had the moments of like clarity she would like freak out and like Yeah Yeah Which yeah Barry: Yeah, when her person came out, her real person... Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. She like freaked out. And that's what's like I feel like a lot of people are gonna think that she's the obsessed one because of like the way that it portrays, like the way that it plays out, but he's actually the obsessed one. Because even after she went way off the deep end, wild. I mean, hashtag real life, that is how some some people are. Barry: Yeah. Like what the, what am I doing? What? No. Yes. The way it makes no. ⁓ no. He is a hundred percent the obsessed one. Crazy. Hashtag crazy. Jen: No. No. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And especially that scene where the, I don't know, the possessive thing spirit is sleeping and she's like talking to him while she's sleeping and she's like, no, it's me. Please just kill me. And he's like, ⁓ was any of it real? And she's like, no, I've never seen you like that. And he still kept going with it. Like, okay, no, you're a psychopath. That's you. You know that she's being tortured in there, but ew with the sandwich. Barry: ⁓ and she's talking to him? Bro, that was like... Yes. Kill me, bro. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: Hell no bro! Just, no that exactly shows he's, and that's what I'm saying, it's... The cat was crazy bro. Yo I knew as soon as she made him that meat or that sandwich I was like, yo that's the cat. I knew it before I even saw the little sticky note bro. And when he saw the sticky note what do you mean? Why would you eat it? Shaun: Yeah. Even the cat. Yeah. But you're still gonna do it. Jen: That sandwich. ⁓ my God. No. Shaun: Yeah. It's a it's an inside joke. god. Jen: Yeah. Mm-mm. That's so gross. Barry: Yo, whole movie, like, yo, I hope dude gets another chance to make another movie, but I was not a big fan, unfortunately. Jen: I mean, it was definitely wild. Yeah, I think I can see the appeal. It was definitely wild. It was definitely like, what the F? Yeah, 100%. Shaun: See, I I liked it. Yeah. Barry: I mean it was... There were some shocking moments that, yeah. Shaun: Yeah. I think the cinematography can do some work. But like overall. Yeah. Jen: Yeah, you could definitely tell it was like a lower budget, like kind of. Barry: Okay. ⁓ yeah. Why not? But I read that they like in those scenes where like she's standing in the dark, but she was actually wearing a mask so that you couldn't see her face. Like that was intentional. So I did read a little. No, jeez Shaun: Mm. She was in Blackface? Jen: Mm-mm. Barry: This fool. But no, I read that that was intentional because I said, like some I read said a lot of people complained about the lighting, and maybe it was just to try and cover their ass. I don't know. But what I read was that that was intentional. Jen: Mm-hmm. ⁓ Shaun: Maybe. Jen: I didn't. Yeah, I felt like it was kind of the vibe of the movie. I felt the whole movie was kind of dark, but I felt like that was the aura of the movie to help with the storyline. I don't think it played badly. I don't know. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Yeah, I think so. Shaun: Yeah. I think The main part that I was talking about is like the car scene, like where she comes up and they're in the car with Sarah. Like that was the part that I like, okay, yeah, this just doesn't look good at all. But yeah, there's a that's kind of a difficult shot to get, I would think. Like how do you pull that off? So exactly. You don't have the Odyssey money. You don't have that kind of a budget. Barry: you Jen: ⁓ the smashing of the face. Hard. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, the Brick. Yeah, yeah to like yeah, yeah Jen: Yeah, especially if you don't have the money to do like all of the crazy stuff. Yeah. Yeah, no. Yeah. Barry: But yo, I read that a lot of those shots were real though, in the Odyssey Like that horse, they made that horse, bro. That was not CGI. Yes, the seven foot silver giants. Those were seven foot people, bro. And they made like, or they got like five foot. Mm Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Well like the giants. The giants in the woods. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah, yes, yes, they made the word. Even the... Yes. And then they used small, super muscular women. I loved that. But even the scene with Cersei where she's changing them into animals, that's like they wore a mask and that's her actually like forming like a puppet. They use like professional puppeteer things to like make them like as they're recording. I was like, ⁓ my gosh, how disturbing. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: shaping their face. Shaun: Mm. Barry: Yeah, it was... Yeah. But no, they have big money to make those shots real. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Especially if they have all of those stars in it too. That's a whole nother playing field when we talk about budgets and how it all comes together. But I don't know. They're both good movies. Check them out. The Odyssey, Obsession. Obsession you can stream it. It's available on Peacock. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: But, nah. session. Yeah, it's free. if you like suspense, thriller slash horror, if you want to call it that. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Or if you want to skip it, you definitely can. Shaun: Don't skip it. Jen's just a wimp. She's a hashtag wimp. It's okay. She's a wimp with a deep voice. Barry: Yeah, it's alright. Dang. Jen: I am. I have no shame in this game. No shame in this deep-voiced game. Catch me in the alto section, hoes. Shaun: How about that? ⁓ man. But Barry, you had something that you wanted to ask me in Jen too. There was something that you had told us about in the group chat, but you didn't really go into detail with it. Barry: Z Yes, I did. I did want to give y'all too much. So... Jen: ⁓ yeah, what was this? I'm so curious. I don't like that. Cut it out. Shaun: Right. I was like, what is this about to be? Barry: This Thursday I was dropping my daughter off and I was listening to the radio. Shout out to KLBJ and Austin, Matt, Bob and Chewie. I forget the name of their morning show now. I don't know them. listened to them from time to time, but I forget what their segment they were doing. I think it was like Learn Something Thursdays or something. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: ⁓ you know them too? ⁓ okay. Jen: My close personal friend. Barry: They talked about this study and so I looked up the study and it's a TIL Peered Reviewed Psychology study. It found that identical twins on average ranked their co-twin if they were identical on an attachment. I kind of correlated to like connection hierarchy. They put their identical twin above their romantic partner. Jen: Mm-hmm. Okay. Mm-hmm. I'd believe that. Shaun: Yeah, I can see that too. Barry: Fraternal twins rank them about even, their co-twin and their spouse about even. And then non-twin siblings rank their romantic partner first in their ⁓ romantic, like attraction, connection hierarchy. Jen: Mm-hmm. for sure. Shaun: Jen's old ⁓ Barry: So I just, made me think about like how I rate people in my life. And I thought it was like, we all have a very different perspective of feeling. Jen even has twin kids. So I wanted to see what y'all thoughts on that were. Jen: I love my sister, but no. Hmm. Twins. Shaun: Yeah. Jen Jen: Hmm. Well, I can definitely see. I mean, so my twins are fraternal. They're not ⁓ So I couldn't necessarily speak to the identical part, but I mean, they're literally one cell that split into two. So I could see for sure about it. ⁓ Yes. Yeah. Yeah. And so I can only imagine how it like connected that they are because again, my ⁓ ⁓ fraternal. Barry: Hmm. Yeah. The connection or the attachment, I think, is the word that's in the study. It's attachment hierarchy. Shaun: Mm. Barry: Yeah. Jen: but even their connection is kind of spooky sometimes. Like when one of them is sick, like the other senses it, or like when one is sad, the other like senses it in just like weird ways. They have these, I don't know, it's just these weird moments where like they're very in tune with the other and they're nowhere near each other. ⁓ So that's interesting to already see. So I'm sure if it's identical twins, that's just taken up a notch. So I could see that. But also my twins already talk about how Shaun: Yeah. Jen: they're going to move out and they're going to live together. And Kelly, ⁓ shoot. Okay. We'll switch that. And my daughter's, my daughter, they'll be like, yeah, her kids will come over and like visit us and we'll be their uncles and blah, blah, blah. But they speak to their future as well. We're going to be together. Yeah. Yeah. So I could see that, but also as a non-twin, I love my sisters, but no. Barry: The girl. Shaun: Mute it. Barry: together. Interesting. Shaun: Yeah. Hmm. Jen: You're never going to be above my person. Yeah, a hundred percent. Yeah. Barry: Kenny's more important, he's your higher attachment. Shaun: Yeah. That is. I am. I'm a single person. I'm also the quote unquote baby out of my siblings. I have an older brother and older sister. Yeah. I'm not spoiled, first of all. Yeah, not spoiled at all. If anything, I had a tougher time coming up because my mom didn't trust me because of my brother and my sister. Barry: Interesting. Shaun, you're a single person, so you have a different perspective here. Jen: Yeah. Barry: ⁓ yeah, that makes sense. I could see that you're spoiled as brat. I see that. Jen: Hmm. ⁓ I was about to say I'm the baby too and absolutely not. Mmm. Mmm. Barry: I could see it going that way too. If they push the envelope and screwed you over, yeah, for sure. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yep. Shaun: Yeah. ⁓ but yeah, I can definitely see that too. I do have twins in my family. ⁓ I've got twin cousins. ⁓ shout out Marcus and Miranda. And I can see that. I feel like they were really close like growing up. As far as this point, they're adults now. I haven't gotten really to see them in the past couple of years. ⁓ but yeah, I can definitely see that that attachment and that connection there. As far as like me with my siblings, I Barry: Yeah. Shaun: Me and my sister hated each other growing up. Like we fought constantly. Yeah, I think it was because we were so close in proximity to each other. Yeah. Jen: Same. Barry: I mean, I think that's just sibling. Yeah. Yeah. If you spend a lot of time, y'all, you know how to get on people's nerves, bro. Shaun: Yeah. But like as we've grown older, I think that we have like more of a respect and acknowledgement for each other. Like if I did have a romantic partner, like in the past when I've been in relationships and things like that, I would say that my romantic partner was like a higher yeah, higher person on the list than my sister was. ⁓ but I mean in the terms of like overall, like especially right now with me being single, I would say that it this my mom at the top and then my sister and like Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Your first, your number one. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Everybody from there. So yeah. Barry: Would you say you were close with your family growing up? Shaun: Man. Ow Well, no, so my family is weird because my family Well Yeah. Jen: We're diving deep here. Barry: I'm just curious. And we all have a unique family. that's why I'm like, I'm always just curious to learn about other people's family that because like mine is way different than Becca's too. Like we grew up in completely different types of a household. Jen: I was about to say all our families Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: And I come from a very large family. Like my grandparents had kids. They had like eight kids. Yeah. And then each one of those kids had three kids, except for a couple of them. They had two or one. So huge, yeah, huge family functions. Our family was super close. And like we would do things all the time. Like we saw each other all of the time, like church on Satur on Sundays. Like we all did different like family reunions and things like that. But then when my grandparents passed, Jen: Hmm. Barry: See that's different for me too, Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Yeah, so that's a lot of folks. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: That's when you can start to see the fracture happening. So big time. Yeah. Yeah. So grew up in a very tight knit family, but as we've grown older and we've lost people in the family, yeah, it's definitely grown apart. ⁓ I would say that when I was growing up, because of my age, I was closer to my cousins than I was my siblings. Which I don't know. I don't know how y'all view cousins. Barry: And it does when those people move on man. Yeah, definitely those connections do break even in family Jen: Mm-hmm ⁓ Yeah. Barry: Yeah. Yeah. That makes sense. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Because it seems like a very culturally different situation. Barry: That's a very different thing. think, but now I don't even, I'm sure it is different amongst cultural, like, you know, different backgrounds, ethnic backgrounds, I'm sure. But like even, I have one set of cousins who live in Northeast on my mom's side. And then another set on my dad's side. But I didn't, I've saw them like a handful of times in my childhood. I had one, she's technically my second cousin. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: She is my mom's uncle's child, but she was the closest in age to me growing up in Austin. So we kind of hung out to your point. Like it was just, I think more of an age thing, but I mean, we were also a military family, so we weren't really connected to either side of our family. We were closer to my mom's side of the family. Jen: Hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: My dad's side of the family, I very rarely see them, especially now that he's passed. It's once in a blue moon. We just went home at the beginning of last year for my dad's mom's funeral. So those are the kind of things that, unfortunately, I wish that wasn't the case because I always love seeing them. But it's just, to my point earlier, it's a lot of energy and time and effort to maintain the relationships. so. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Adulting, Shaun: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Barry: But the study also maybe started thinking about like friends too, because like certain people would put their friends over siblings or partners. ⁓ And I think it's also situational too, like when I talk about like connection hierarchy or like attachment, it's kind of depends on the situation for me. It just made me think like that. Shaun: ⁓ yeah. Jen: Yeah, I mean not over partner for sure, but. Shaun: When I was younger I for sure would have said that. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: feel like my daughters are probably my biggest attachment when it comes to like my main focus on a daily is their safety, their well-being. I don't know. But I mean, Becca is a very important person to me. She's definitely usually my number one, but certain instances, I don't know. It would be interesting to see how that tests or how that tracks. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Yeah, the girls sneak in there and yeah. Shaun: Yeah. And I feel like that's what happens. Like as you get married, you have kids, and even when you have grandkids, like I feel like that hierarchy's like always changing. Like there's always you go through different events in life and that causes you to have different perspectives on what's most important in your life in that moment and that can maybe shift the priority. Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: Yeah. Yeah, well, and know a lot of, well, I don't don't probably, I don't speak to say a lot, but I know a couple of our friends who said like they put their partner in front of their kids because their kids are going to leave one day and they're still going to be with their partner. it's. Jen: Yeah. ⁓ I was literally just about to say that basically like I grew up very religious and that is Preached everywhere is your partner first. Well, it's your relationship with God your relationship with your partner and then your relationship with your kids and I just as I've grown away from said religion I think my views on that are very different now being Shaun: Yeah. Barry: God, partner, and then your kids. Yeah? Jen: in being married, having kids. I think that Kenny and I are really similar in this, so maybe that helps keep our balance with that. But like, 100 % my kids are number one no matter what. Like no one is coming above my children. Like, especially right now. But to Barry's point, like Kenny and I also have a consistent like, ⁓ like understanding of like, one of these days they'll all leave and like, can't wait for that moment because we're gonna be. right back where we were, you know what I mean? Like there's this like understanding of like, we're in this together right now. Yeah, but eventually we'll have our time to like, 100 % because it's so easy to like lose sight of that for sure. And like you still do have to put in time and effort and stuff like that into maintaining that relationship. But I also think having that knowledge and understanding truly of like, Shaun: Yeah. Barry: That's good you all have understanding, Cause that's what drives a lot of relationships or marriages down, Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: ⁓ absolutely. Barry: So, for sure. I mean, yes, if you're on the same page, that helps. Yeah. You got to bring it back. Yeah, it's it's the long game, bro. It is. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: There's gonna be moments where we're super distant and know, whatever, but like, yeah, like we'll get there. We'll get there. We'll have our moment. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. And I feel like that's where a lot of relationships end up falling short is that lack of understanding of each other. Because you always hear, like kind of going back to what you were talking about with like growing up with certain religions and things like that, you always hear about like the man being the head of the household and the woman being submissive and like fifty fifty and stuff like that. Doesn't work. That's not that's literally not real life. Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yep. Yeah. Barry: I don't even I don't I think that that does work for people that are on those that if you have a woman who Sees it that way and you have a man who sees it that way that can work like I Wouldn't want that in my relationship necessarily, but I think it can work to Jen's point if they are on the same page now Jen: for some people, yeah. Shaun: For some people it can. Jen: Yes. Yeah. ⁓ Shaun: That can work. Yeah. Barry: As you grow older, you think you're not going to change that much, but the way you see the world change, or at least it has for me as I've gotten older, I do not see this world the same way I did in 19, 20, 21 years old, me and Becca first got ⁓ To me, I am way more mature, ⁓ I am lot more thoughtful of a ⁓ ⁓ I see myself that ⁓ regardless of whoever else sees me and however else they see me, but that's who I feel I am to ⁓ Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. It does. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, 100%. Shaun: No. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: ⁓ I don't know man. I don't know if that can work if one person doesn't see it that way. That would be very hard. It has to be, but I don't know like if you grow, I don't know if you would always feel that way that like I'm gonna submit to this person. I mean, I don't know bro. Jen: Yeah, no, it surely can't. No, it surely can. At some point. Shaun: I don't think it can. Because there's I feel like there has to be communication and balance. Like that's the thing. Yeah, communication and balance. Like no one is going to be a hundred percent all of the time. So like when I'm at 80%, I need that 20% from you. When I'm at 40%, I need that 60% from you. Like that's the only way that it's gonna work is if we can balance each other out, we can communicate appropriately and manage to build this life together that we want to have. Jen: I mean, that's honestly my thought too. Yeah. Barry: It has to be. Communication, as we said, is key. No. Jen: For sure. Barry: Yeah. Jen: Say it Barry: Well, but it has to be it has to go back and forth. Sometimes that one person just says, I'm going to kick it in 20. You go out to hold out 80, bro. And then people are like, I can't hold that. I can't hold it this long. Shaun: It does. Yeah. And you can't do that. Yeah. Like I can't have you be at twenty right now because I'm at forty. And we can't be at sixty combined. We need that hundred percent together. Jen: Mm-hmm and stay there. Yeah Yes Mm-hmm Yep Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Well, yeah, yeah, it is when you don't get that hundred in whatever capacity, it definitely breaks down. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: And I feel like too, when you go into marriage and you know, in the beginning, it's so nice and all the fluff and all the honeymoon stage or whatever. Yeah. Yeah. But like, feel this is kind of talking to our, our other contents of like, can love at first sight, whatever. This is kind of what I'm speaking to is like, you can love someone to a certain extent, but like, if you want to be in a relationship with that person for the rest of your life, that's a different type of commitment, which I think is like, Shaun: Honeymoon phase, yeah. ⁓ yeah. Jen: outside of because you're agreeing to stay with that person through all of their changing all of their growth that they're going to go through along with your own. But also you have to go. Yeah, you have to go in with both of you have to go in with that understanding and that commitment. Barry: Good and the bad, think that's one thing that, yeah, I would agree with you, Jen. Like, that's one thing, like, you can go in with that intention, but you can't control what that other person does. And that's the crazy thing about marriage, too. It is, it is. Because, I mean, you hope that they're going to follow through and... Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Mm-hmm. That's the scary part. Mm-hmm. Yeah, that's the scary part. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: It doesn't always work out that way, unfortunately. So it can definitely. And then that's, I don't know. But again, it goes back to communication because if you're not saying it, part of the fault is on you for not saying, you ain't you ain't bringing it. Like if you just let it be, then it's a choice. mean, so it's yeah, it's tough, It's tough. But now it's just interesting. Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-mm. It's great, I swear. Yeah, ⁓ 100%. Shaun: Well, you'll have fun with that. Barry: But I mean, but I think that's all relationships, not just romantic ones too, bro. You know? Shaun: I know, right. ⁓ yeah. I feel like that's especially like when you're talking about like maintaining adult friendships. I feel like that's what it is. It's balancing communication. Like I understand that you have your life. I have my life. We have our own things that we're doing. Like, how can we communicate and still keep that contact and be friends? Yeah. And that's the thing. Some people don't understand that. Some people are not meant to be in your life forever. Some people are there for a season. Yeah. Barry: Mm-hmm. It is. Jen: Yeah. Yep. Yeah. Exactly. Barry: Yeah. Yeah. Do we need to or is it like, hey, we're just going to see each other when we can and you know, life happens. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: No, they aren't. They're going to be on your path for a short amount of time. They're going to serve a purpose and then y'all's paths are going to break and go in separate ways. Sometimes. And they may come back. They may come back. That path might swing way wide and come back 10, 20 years now from now. I mean, hopefully if you get that long. So I don't know, bro. I just every day I'm just I appreciate what I've got. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. And once that season's over, it's over. That's okay. It's okay to move on with life. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Yep. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yep. Shaun: Yeah, you never know. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: True. Never know. Barry: Some days it's just like, man, I'm tired. But most days I'm like, yes, I do appreciate today, for sure. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Well it's just like who was it Becca that asked me last night, like if I wanted to have kids or if I would have kids or something like that? Was it Becca? ⁓ maybe it was. ⁓ but I was like, Yeah, I mean, I would, but that's not anything that I'm focused on right now. I mean, but like if I were to end up in that situation, like if it were to be like a different season in my life Jen: I think so. No, it might have been Selena. ⁓ shoot. Bye-bye. Barry: That's it. Jen: Now hold still. Barry: Getting blurry. There we go. My camera's off tonight. Shaun: There you go. Yeah. Like if it were like a different season of my life, then I think that yeah, that could definitely be a possibility. Yeah. So I don't know. I feel like the people that come in your life and the people that go from your life, like it's always going to happen. Yeah. Life is life is not promised. Barry: No, yeah, we were talking about that on Saturday night. Yeah. Yeah, I remember that now. Jen: Yeah. Barry: Yo, everything's temporary, Like we keep saying. Friendships, no. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, Jen: Yeah. But that's the thing too with adult relationships and just in my experience of like I truly have no animosity towards you if we drift apart and like you go your way and like Barry said in 10-20 years if you come drift back I'm so excited and I love it and yes let's go do the things and whatever and let's enjoy the season that we are but like it's okay to like Shaun: Yeah. So we never know. Not at all. Yeah. Jen: have that ebb and flow, I don't know. I don't know. Barry: No, but I mean, I think when you're younger, don't, it's hard for, yeah, you're like, man, and that's, but that's just like, that's just, I don't want to say necessarily maturity, but that's just seeing life, like as you get older, like, I don't know, like, and I feel like that's what they say, like how life speeds up as you get older. I don't think life speeds up. Time is time. But your understanding of the, like the equity of time, like when you think about it, Shaun: Like it's not gonna hurt my feelings. Jen: You hold on to everything. Yes. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Realizing it's hard. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: When you're a kid, a year is like if you're four years old, you're all the only thing you know, your entirety of your life is four years. And that's probably seemed so long. But now as a 41 year old, I'm like, bro, four years is nothing. It's a drop in the bucket. Like a year goes by and like I did. That's what I'm saying. Like people get so caught up in high school, like because that's when you're really like starting to become an independent person. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Yep. But man, high school felt long. Shaun: Nothing. Like nothing. Yeah. But Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: you're starting to figure out life. And I mean that in like, you are barely starting to understand what life's about. But that's the, and it is, life's coming at you so fast and the importance of these things that you do on a date, because again, your only understanding is your 14, 15, 16 years that you've been here. So if you think about a quarter of your life, four years still seems like a long amount of time. So it is ultra important, but as you get older, it's... Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Barely, but also people are throwing life at you, you know, yeah Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Yep. Barry: It's just you see it in such a different light and a different paradigm perspective. ⁓ Jen: perspective. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Also think that that's where you start to realize these adult relationships though. Because for for the typical kid like like myself, like you grow up in one place, you have these people and you see those same people every year. So you build those friendships, you build those relationships, and you do that for 13 years. And then all of a sudden you're getting ready to graduate high school and you're like, crap, I might never see you again. And that's where it starts to set in, like, okay, adult relationships are different. Barry: Yeah, you start to see them. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Yep. Yeah, but you still hold on. Yeah, no, you're still trying to hold on to them and make them be what you want them to be. But no, as you get older, you just realize, man, we're all on our own path. And that's my experience totally different from y'all. But I didn't really have friends like that when I grew up. I didn't keep in touch with people. We moved every three years about and there was one of my friends, his name was Andrew. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: But you still don't really understand it then. Yeah. Jen: Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. We're all doing our own thing. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Exactly. Jen: Hmm. Yeah. Barry: We were in two consecutive stations together, so we were close with him and his dad. was raised by a single father. ⁓ And that was probably my closest friend until I moved to Copperas Cove, and that was the longest I stayed anywhere. But we stayed there extra because of my dad's accident. And then we moved my freshman year of high school after my freshman year of high school to San Antonio. So it was completely different. Jen: Mm. Hmm. Yeah. Hmm. Barry: Bro, like having long-term friends was not my norms. ⁓ I don't know. guess the nets, think to part of me is why I love change so much. Cause I just like my, my world changed every three years and ⁓ I enjoyed it. Like I love seeing the places we got to live and like I enjoyed having, you know, different friends. I don't know. It was sad to leave. Like I always cried every time I left. Cause you know, I did build strong relationships with these people. We were all in the same boat. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: what you're used to. Yeah. Your body's conditions to need it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Change is fine though. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: We were all military people. all were going through the same stuff. my parents were very close with all the people that we were stationed with. And we always made really good friends. But yeah, I'm glad my kids get to live and be with their friends. Hopefully they grow up to, to your point, Shaun, until they get out of high school. And hopefully they go on and do the things that they want to do. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. one five. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Me and my oldest, we were talking about that in the car on the way home when I picked her up from work today. Her, my youngest, Rebecca, they, they don't want her to leave. They want her to stay close when she leaves or when she goes to college. And she got upset about it. My oldest was like, they just make me feel so bad. And I was like, girl, I was like, it's, and I had that pressure. I was the oldest. Jen: Mmm. Shaun: I mean Jen: Awwww. Yeah. Barry: I felt bad leaving because my dad just had his accident, but I wanted to leave. So I did, but I did feel that pressure. And I ended up going away for a year and I came home because I realized I didn't want to be far. Like I wanted to be around to help and, you know, be there for my family. So it's just, as I told my oldest, I'm like, it's just, you know, life is, it's hard. It's not always going to be an easy choice. Like you're going to feel pressure. You're going to feel like you might've made the wrong choice. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Yeah. And sometimes you just gotta go through it. Yeah. Barry: But that's what you have to do. Because if you don't, you're going to be close to us and you're going to hate it because you want to be somewhere else. She's like, dad, I'm not upset. She just refuses to talk to open up about it. She's like, I'm good. I'm good. I'm like, girl, you're not good, but it's all right. Just hear me. Just hear me. You don't got to talk to me about it, but just hear the words that I'm saying. I was very close to being in your shoes. I'm not. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yep. Shaun: You're always gonna have that what if in the back of your mind. Jen: Hmm. Okay, you good for now. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: Don't want to say I know how you feel because you are a different person than I am. And the way you see the world is different than the I see it, you know, but it's hard. But you've got to live life for you. You can't live it for me. You can't live for your mother. You can't live for your sister. You have to live it for you because it's your life. Like I said, what I said, I said to her what I think I said, like on, I don't know, like episode eight or something like all I can hope is that I raise you to be a good human being. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yep. Mm-hmm. Barry: And when you're an adult, you want to be my friend and you will come back and visit me. That's it. That is like I literally said that we left to pick up our H.E.B. Like I said, it's both of them, both of them are in a car. That is my goal in life right now. Like for the foreseeable future, that is all I'm trying to accomplish. Now, I hope that works out and it might not. I know people that don't, know, that don't they don't have great relationships with their kids and things happen. You know, people mess up, people hold grudges. Jen: And you want to hang out, Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: It's not guaranteed that we'll be close. I mean, I'm not necessarily close with my family either. Like my mom, we were talking about it a couple weeks ago. She was like, she's like, thought you were going to leave and never come back. They call me BJ because I'm Barry junior. So, but she's like, I thought you were going to be the one that just never came home. But again, I made the choice to go see the world and I came back because I wanted to, but I'd made that choice for myself. So. Jen: Yeah. here you are. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: ⁓ But yeah, life's crazy thing, man. Shaun: It is. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I feel like Odysseus, bro, was making life choices. But I came home. I was all over. I came home, Jen: I was all over the place. Have you all, okay, now that we're saying that out loud, have you all seen all of the TikTok stuff about just bring Matt Damon home because he's been in so many movies, The Martian. He's trying to come home from Mars. ⁓ What was the other one that was another space one that he was stuck in space? ⁓ Interstellar. Interstellar, he's stuck on a different planet. No. Shaun: You came home. You made your way back. Barry: No. Shaun: Marks. ⁓ Barry: No, that was McConaughey. Yeah. ⁓ that's right. That is right. Yeah, well, he went crazy because he was by himself for so long. That's right, I forgot. Shaun: That was my meth that was Matthew McConaughey. Jen: Yes, but Matt Damon is the one they go pick up on the ice. Yeah, he's like the bad guy in the end. he's ready to help him. Yeah. Yes. And then there was another one, but it was just like, I'm ready to go to the theater to see Matt Damon come home again. It's so funny. Really? ⁓ wow. Shaun: You're right, yep. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And see, I didn't even know that he was in it because I avoid any kind yeah, I avoid any kind of promo materials or anything like that. Like that's why I have to go see Spider-Man pretty soon because I'm seeing way too much online. Yeah, so I'm trying to like weave through everything. So I'm gonna have to go see that pretty soon. But my dude made his way back. Dang it. Everybody's seeing that one too. Jen: Interesting. Barry: ⁓ too many... Too many ruiners. Too many... Yeah. Jen: We just saw it. We just saw it. It was good. Barry: Yeah, my other side she said is pretty good But I kind of, I don't know, Marvel, those I'm cool with just streaming those at the house. Jen: next on the list. Listen, we have to go see Doomsday together. Barry: Yeah. Jen: We do. Okay, Shaun's a big Marvel person. This can be his thing. Shaun: I do, I love Marvel movies. Barry: I mean, no, I mean, sure, I'll go again. I'll do it. I don't care. What I mean, it's just like when I was saying that you watch an obsession. You didn't want to do it, but you did it for the group. So I don't necessarily care exactly. No, I just like to win my opinion. That's it. I want my opinion to come out on top. Shaun: Well, you're just gonna wait on you, huh? Jen: Okay. If we force them, hell go. Yeah, and I suffered through, but I did it. Shaun: That's true. And me watching Love Island. Mm-hmm. Jen: Whatever Barry loves Love Island as much as he wants to talk. He loves it Shaun: He does level up. Barry: That's it. Hashtag no way. No way. But now, yeah, so yeah, it seems a good little topic that radio station. Shaun: Hashtag new fan. Jen: Okay. Shaun: No fan, probably. Fan. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Was. Yeah. Tell us who is it that you have in your hierarchy? Yeah. We won't tell anybody. It's just for us. No, I'm just saying, like for the for the listeners, like tell us. Tell us in the chat. Tell us in the comments. What is your hierarchy? Children, parents, siblings? Yes. Jen: with it. Barry: ⁓ who's your connection or attachment hierarchy? How does it? No. No, for the listeners, for the chat. Jen: for me. Barry: What do you think? Who's your, yeah, what's your connection, attachment, hierarchy? Because I could see some people put their friends over their spouse. I could. Jen: ⁓ Yeah. Who's number one? Shaun: I can see that. Jen: Yeah, I can see some people doing that. Barry: And again, I think it will be situational in certain situations. feel like Becca would choose her little they're called the lovelies. Shout out to the lovelies. Y'all know who y'all are. But they're really I mean, they all met and like how like early college, like early 20s. And so they're very close. We were talking about it. And I was like, I was like, I put it to Rebecca. was like, OK, so they wanted to chill with you. If I said, hey, did you show me who would you pick? She was like, probably picked up. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Ha ha ha. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. She said, sorry, I gotta go. That's True. Shaun: I'm probably picking now. That's fair. Yeah. Barry: I see you all the time. I was like, fair enough. But again, that's why I say in certain situations that that attachment or connection hierarchy will it will shift again, but I don't take that personal. I like I can see why I get it. So it was just it made me think like kind of how because like me and my brothers and sister were not exceptionally close. We talk sporadically. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Mm. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: But me and my brother are 10 years apart, so we definitely, like, we weren't necessarily, we were cool, but he was 10, like, I was like 16 and he was six, like, it was a big age gap. We were in different parts of life at different, when we were, you know, any kind of close, so. But, Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Big difference there. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I was close to my brother when he coached because he like coached my little league basketball team, my little dribblers teams. So like we were close for that. But other than that, like we had a very large age gap. I think we were like fifteen years different. And then me and my sister, we had a pretty big age gap, but we were around each other so much that we just hated each I I won't say hated, Stephanie, I never hated you. But but yeah, we would just push each other's buttons constantly. Yeah. Barry: ⁓ that's dope. Dang. Mom. Jen: ⁓ my gosh. Barry: a little more. Well, now y'all just probably push each other's button. That's what siblings do, bro. That's what our girls do. Good gosh, It's just constant. But again, they say that's a sign of a comfortable home that you're willing to let your guard down and be like that in front of with your siblings. I'll take it for that. I'm gonna take that even if it ain't true. Makes me feel good because my girls argue and push each other's buttons all the time. Jen: you Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: And it's like Jen: Mm-hmm. Yep. Yeah. He said, that's what, even if it's not, that's what I'm sticking with. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Even if it's not my girls, yeah. And that's what really matters. Yeah. Yeah. This is a good one. That's a good topic. Barry: So I'm like, they just love each other and they're comfortable with us watching this happen. Yeah, but it just made me think it was interesting. Thought provokes provoking provocation. Jen: That's funny. Yeah, yeah, that's a good one. Shaun: Hashtag new stories to think about. I like that. Find things from the news. Well, let's get out of here. We've been here for a little bit. Episode number 11 in the books. Thank you for coming to hang out with us. Remember, go and check us out on all major social media platforms at Bald Enough to Say It. ⁓ visit our website www.baldenough to say it.com. We love you. We appreciate you. So glad to have you here week after week supporting us. And Jen: Mm-hmm. Peace. Shaun: Be on the lookout. We're gonna keep doing more fun things for you. Barry: Don't forget, we ⁓ need them ideas from the chat. The listeners, keep them coming. What do y'all want to be called? Yup. Patreon. Shaun: ⁓ yes, we need ideas for yes, keep sending those ideas in for what you want to be called when we launch our excuse me. Jen: ⁓ yeah. ⁓ there he goes. Barry: Yeah, bro. He's getting choked up. Y'all got him about cry over here. He's that excited. Shaun: Whoo, got choked up for a second. When we launch our Patreon, we need to have a name for our fans, our listeners. ⁓ and we want that to come from you all. We do have some ideas ourselves, but we have some that have come in. We want to keep those coming in too. ⁓ so send them in to us. What do you want to be called? The Baldies, the Bald Enoughs, the BETSI's whatever you want to be called. Whatever you can come up with. Yes. Barry: Yes. Let us know. some good ideas. Jen: I do love the BETSI's Shaun: ⁓ man, but we will see you next time on episode number 12. Bye, everybody. Peace. Yes. Barry: Doesn't peace out John Jen: Bye! Shaun: I don't know what just happened there. Like I all of a sudden. Jen: you Barry: swallow down a wrong tube. Shaun: Swallow have you ever been swallowed up? Barry: Yes. Shaun: You never saw that? So there was a meme, or I guess it wasn't really a meme. But but was it T D D. Jakes? I think it might have been Bishop T. D. Jakes. He has that something he said. Have you ever been swallowed up? And it was just making the waves for a while. Barry: Come on, TV. Jen: Hmm. Barry: Yeah. Shaun: For a wild, for a wall. I don't know where that D came from. That's what she said. It's in that sonic cup. Barry: Cherry lime, anybody. I needed some carbonation, man. I've been feeling. Jen: I love cherry limeades. I haven't had a cherry limeade in forever, but that sounds so good. Shaun: Nice. Mm-hmm. Barry: Yeah, we got that sonic right through, wavey order. Shaun: Dude, I don't see how y'all don't go to Bahama Bucks like every day. Jen: I was just about to say the same thing. Barry: We're not, we're not Bahama buck fans, bro. Becca likes pickles, snow cones, and they use like a sweet pickle. It's gross, it is. So, yeah, they should, I would agree. No. Shaun: Really? That place is great. Jen: Mm-hmm. No, I love sweet pickles. I don't pickle discriminate. I love all pickles. Listen. Shaun: Ew. Sweet pickles should be outlawed. Sweet pickles are disgusting. Barry: So we go to this little spot called Embi Treats. Jesus. Yeah. But it's a little, so it used to be a little like shack. Shaun: Okay. And betreats. Jen: you Mm-hmm. Barry: They sold the property that they were on to somebody who opened up a little strip mall. Then they moved to a food truck, their hours are so sporadic. So we don't usually get it that often. Unfortunately, there's also a good one over off of the land right by a worst best. I mean, it is. Yeah, I feel you. But now. And be in the treats is on business 35 over by the H.E.B. Jen: Hmm. Hmm. Shaun: That's too far. I ain't trying to go all the way over there. Jen: Hmm. Shaun: I'll have to check ⁓ out though. Barry: ⁓ off of Walnut. Yeah. It's business 35, like the side road that runs parallel to 35. Shaun: ⁓ okay. I've been over there a couple of times. Off a thirty we're off at thirty five. ⁓ okay. Gotcha. Yeah. Hmm, I'll have to go check ⁓ out then. Barry: Yeah, we're not big Bahama Buck fans. We like the mom and pop joints. Jen: So Zen. Shaun: Mm. I mean, I like mom and pop joints too. I I think there's one up one twenty three. There's like a snow cone spot up there. I need to go check them out. I don't know what it's called. I've just seen it like kinda right there off of the edge. Right? Almost went to what is it called? The one on Barry: ⁓ yeah? need to go back to sip it. Shaun: The one across from H E B Dakary Depot. Yeah, almost went there yesterday. Barry: ⁓ Daiquiri barn or Daiquiri Depot. They have the Sip Society now. It's a coffee shop now too. It's in the same. I think they just took like started selling coffee now to try and diversify their business. But now it's Sip Society and Daiquiri Depot like together. Jen: ⁓ Shaun: ⁓ really? Connected to them? Mm, okay. Hmm. Nice. Bring in the the church crowd that's right there next door. Barry: I mean, think they're just because they used to true. They used to not open until like noon. So I think now with the coffee shop, they can be open and get more. Yeah. A little bang for the buck out of their lease. Yeah. Because they couldn't sell alcohol before whatever time. So. Yo, I would imagine now, especially if it wasn't when they got in, it's probably gone up. So. Jen: Mmm, a little earlier. Yeah, that's true. Shaun: Mm. Yeah. Make more money. That makes sense. Yeah. I bet that lease is probably stupid expensive over there. Jen: Yeah. Hmm. It's yeah for sure. Shaun: Yeah. Everything over there. Jen: Ahem. Barry: Yeah. Everybody stop. Shaun: Hmm. Sure, go for it. Jen: Mm-hmm. sure ⁓ yeah again Barry: Jan, you stopping it? Shaun: Sure.
