  Speaker 5: of living in today's world, ranging from terrorism to corruption,

  Speaker 5: all kinds of insecurity, death, poverty, and all of these
• 16:32
  Speaker 5: vices that have plagued our nation and our lives. And
• 16:35
  Speaker 5: here in Nigeria, we've had a toll of the share
• 16:38
  Speaker 5: of pain. Family members have lost loved ones, and a
• 16:44
  Speaker 5: lot has happened in our lives. Many of us have
• 16:48
  Speaker 5: had our expectations dashed at one point or the other.
• 16:51
  Speaker 5: And it's important that we understand the concept of hope
• 16:58
  Speaker 5: and tonight I know.

  Speaker 1: Job, chapter six, verse eleven.

  Speaker 5: Now, when you study theologically the Book of Job, there's

  Speaker 5: a lot of controversy about the writer of the Book

  Speaker 5: of Job and the time the dispensation with which the
• 17:22
  Speaker 5: book was written, because contextually the Book of Job seems
• 17:27
  Speaker 5: to predate the Law and all of that.

  Speaker 1: We see activities in the Book of.

  Speaker 5: Job that happened before the Law was given, so we

  Speaker 1: Must have existed in a dispensation that.

  Speaker 5: Most fitting would be in between the Book of Genesis

  Speaker 5: somewhere around there, and theologians generally agree that the Book

  Speaker 5: of Job is somewhere there. The writer of the Book

  Speaker 5: of Job is unknown. Because of the character of that book,

  Speaker 5: Because the Book of Joe begins telling us about a man,

  Speaker 5: a wealthy man who feared God and eschewed evil, and.

  Speaker 5: It gives us the picture of a meeting that was

  Speaker 5: held in the realms of the heavens, where Satan also

  Speaker 5: came and discussions were made about this man called Joe,

  Speaker 5: and the Lord said, have you considered my servant Joe?

  Speaker 5: Satan said, yes, I have considered him and all of that.

  Speaker 1: But does this have you just for nothing?

  Speaker 5: You have blessed him everything he has touched as prospered.

  Speaker 5: And he said, permits me to take all that you
• 18:57
  Speaker 5: have given him and see if he will not cost

  Speaker 5: you to your face. And whilst that is happening, job

  Speaker 5: Christians die? Why do we have terrorists come in to

  Speaker 5: a church or meeting and bombed?

  Speaker 1: What is the contemplation? What is the answer?

  Speaker 5: There are so many things that happen in our world

  Speaker 5: that creates a lot of questions. No one that we
• 19:41
  Speaker 5: have people who were one's Christians.

  Speaker 1: And then as a result of this.

  Speaker 5: On answered questions, they become atheists, or they turn and
• 19:50
  Speaker 5: begin to mock God and do all kinds of things.

  Speaker 1: So Job was that man in one day, Brothers and.

  Speaker 5: Sisters, the Bible tells us that Job lost his son,
• 20:00
  Speaker 5: he lost his daughters, he lost his houses, he was
• 20:05
  Speaker 5: into real estate, he was into agriculture, he lost his business,
• 20:09
  Speaker 5: he lost everything.
• 20:12
  Speaker 1: The only thing that Joe had was himself, his health,
• 20:17
  Speaker 1: and his wife.
• 20:20
  Speaker 5: Within a span of a few hours, men kept coming
• 20:23
  Speaker 5: to bring reports. I was standing and they were helstones,

  Speaker 5: and this and that happened.

  Speaker 1: All your children are dead. I'm the only one who

  Speaker 1: is alive to come and testify.

  Speaker 5: And while he was trying to manage the psychology that

  Speaker 5: comes the shock and other news comes this and that

  Speaker 5: was happening, and your cattul and everything. And at the

  Speaker 5: end of Job's life, after that news, Joe gave glory

  Speaker 1: Now that in itself is a big subject of controversy.

  Speaker 5: Why the Lord would permit the devil to go and

  Speaker 5: And then all of a sudden, Joe began to have

  Speaker 5: soil boils all over his body. And within a short time,

  Speaker 5: He sat upon ashes, and the Bible says, dogs will

  Speaker 5: come and lick his souls. He became a subject of embarrassment.

  Speaker 5: Everybody in the city carried their opinion about him. And

  Speaker 5: then the Bible tells us that three men came, really four,
• 21:55
  Speaker 5: and they came and sat together. When they saw jokes predicament,
• 21:59
  Speaker 5: they were shot, and for seven days they could not talk.

  Speaker 5: After seven days they began to analyze. They stretched their
• 22:08
  Speaker 5: intellect from border to border, suching what principles of life
• 22:12
  Speaker 5: might have been violated to be responsible for this man's predecament?

  Speaker 5: And at the end of it, they said, Job, all
• 22:21
  Speaker 5: we can find is that you're a sinner. And Job said,

  Speaker 5: be careful, don't bring a course upon yourself. And there

  Speaker 5: was a little boy who sat all who said, I

  Speaker 5: wanted to speak what I was afraid because I was little.

  Speaker 5: He said, this matter, it's not just the issue of experience.

  Speaker 5: There is a spiriting man. We need the Holy goals

  Speaker 5: to help us to be able to analyze what would

  Speaker 5: have been the situation. And after all of those conversations,

  Speaker 5: Job's wife looked at him and said, mister man, you

  Speaker 5: you have been a faithful wife. Your situation is pathetic.

  Speaker 5: I pity you. So here's the solution. My recommendation to

  Speaker 5: this situation is that you cause God and die. And

  Speaker 5: Job said, why do you speak like one of these

  Speaker 5: foolish women?
