- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, Ashy Bynes
- 0:13Speaker 1: addresses the most persistent rumour to ever follow her, Meghan
- 0:17Speaker 1: Markle's lifestyle rebrand and our Friday debrief. But first, Anna
- 0:22Speaker 1: Paul's nonchalant return to social media has been marred by
- 0:26Speaker 1: fresh allegations from Michaela Tester. Before we get into those claims, Kate,
- 0:30Speaker 1: how did Anna mark her return? Well, she returned to
- 0:33Speaker 1: TikTok by sharing three new videos. And as we've come
- 0:36Speaker 1: to expect from Anna, she hasn't been lying low at home. Instead,
- 0:40Speaker 1: she's been jet setting around the world. This time she
- 0:43Speaker 1: was in LA. And in the videos, Anna documented her
- 0:45Speaker 1: day at a theme park, as well as a night
- 0:47Speaker 1: out clubbing. Now, interestingly, in those videos, Anna showed herself
- 0:51Speaker 1: getting drunk, despite previously telling her audience she didn't drink.
- 0:55Speaker 1: She seemed kind of different. There was something I couldn't
- 0:57Speaker 1: quite put my finger on. I had to look in
- 0:59Speaker 1: the comment section and a lot of followers said that
- 1:02Speaker 1: her tone of voice was different. She wasn't talking as childlike. Yeah,
- 1:06Speaker 1: someone said her baby voice was toned down. And when
- 1:08Speaker 1: I saw that, I was like, yeah, you're right. But
- 1:10Speaker 1: she almost sounded sad as well. Yeah, that's what I
- 1:13Speaker 1: think it was. I think she was almost second guessing
- 1:15Speaker 1: how she was meant to portray herself in the video
- 1:17Speaker 1: because she has been slammed so much. There was a
- 1:20Speaker 1: notable absentee from her video, which was her brother, Attis Paul.
- 1:23Speaker 1: a lot of people referred to him as he who
- 1:25Speaker 1: must not be named. Now, her boyfriend, Amrik, and some
- 1:29Speaker 1: of her American friends did make the cut in the video. Now,
- 1:33Speaker 1: while she was desperately trying to pretend like nothing had happened,
- 1:35Speaker 1: the commenters were there to remind her that things had
- 1:38Speaker 1: dramatically changed. Many people said they actually felt gaslit from
- 1:42Speaker 1: the videos. Every second comment I saw was saying, it
- 1:45Speaker 1: made me feel broke. Well, in her defense, how is
- 1:47Speaker 1: she supposed to make a return? She already put out
- 1:49Speaker 1: the video where she acknowledged Michaela's claims. Yes, we thought
- 1:53Speaker 1: that that video was a huge flop, but if I
- 1:56Speaker 1: was her publicist, I would have said, just return as normal. Yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 1: move on.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Yeah, move on.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Like that's what anyone else would have done. It was
- 2:03Speaker 1: so awkward though, because you could tell she was trying
- 2:05Speaker 1: to be extra relatable. At one point she showed herself
- 2:07Speaker 1: sitting on the toilet, struggling to find toilet paper. I'm like,
- 2:10Speaker 1: this did not need to make the cut. Well, on Wednesday,
- 2:13Speaker 1: Michaela posted her first TikTok since her explosive allegation video
- 2:17Speaker 1: It's hard to believe that was three weeks ago. And
- 2:20Speaker 1: in the video, she referenced the Tell All podcast about
- 2:23Speaker 1: the polls that she's currently producing. This is what she said.
- 2:27Speaker 3: I wanted to wait until the podcast to release this
- 2:29Speaker 3: information because it's just so sad, sick and fucked up.
- 2:32Speaker 3: And I just, I'm afraid that you guys aren't ready
- 2:34Speaker 3: to hear something like this because it's very bold and
- 2:37Speaker 3: it's very dark and deep and disgusting. But I just
- 2:40Speaker 3: can't wait another minute to say it because it's genuinely
- 2:42Speaker 3: concerning me considering the fact that she's just bought a
- 2:45Speaker 3: new bird.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And I'm talking about Anna Paul here. And this is
- 2:50Speaker 1: why Michaela Testa is so successful on TikTok. What a
- 2:53Speaker 1: hook to drag people in. It's more exciting than the
- 2:57Speaker 1: hook about Anna Paul being the theme park. Yes, very
- 2:59Speaker 1: much so. Now, before we dive in further, we want
- 3:01Speaker 1: to reiterate that these are unsubstantiated allegations and we're just
- 3:05Speaker 1: merely discussing them. We're not saying that they're true, but
- 3:07Speaker 1: we're just reporting on what Michaela has said. Now, Michaela
- 3:10Speaker 1: went on to allege that Anna mistreated her birds, leaving
- 3:13Speaker 1: them to, quote, rot in their cages. She backed up
- 3:16Speaker 1: the claims by saying it was all documented and she
- 3:19Speaker 1: witnessed it herself while living with Anna. Michaela went on
- 3:22Speaker 1: to claim that Anna purchased a new bird every six
- 3:25Speaker 1: months and at one stage had five of them. According
- 3:28Speaker 1: to Michaela, Anna's relationship with the birds changed when she
- 3:31Speaker 1: bought her hairless cats. This is what she said.
- 3:34Speaker 4: When she bought those hairless cats, I would hear her say,
- 3:37Speaker 4: I can't wait for these birds to die because it
- 3:41Speaker 4: is hard having cats and birds.
- 3:42Speaker 1: At the same time. Michaela also went on to allege
- 3:46Speaker 1: that the way Anna had treated the birds made her
- 3:48Speaker 1: sick to her stomach and that she was the only
- 3:51Speaker 1: one in the family to try and entertain them. This
- 3:54Speaker 1: is more of what she said.
- 3:56Speaker 3: She buys animals for content and then neglects them.
- 3:58Speaker 4: We know that. We can see that through the content.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Now, in terms of timing, Michaela said she felt compelled
- 4:04Speaker 1: to share the story after learning that Anna had purchased
- 4:07Speaker 1: a new bird following the death of her other bird, Quakesy.
- 4:11Speaker 1: This is what she said.
- 4:13Speaker 4: So we know the bird rotted in a cage this
- 4:15Speaker 4: entire time. She said, oh my God, yeah, by the way,
- 4:19Speaker 4: Quixie died. I didn't tell you guys because I was
- 4:21Speaker 4: so sad. You weren't sad, Anna. You were not fucking sad.
- 4:24Speaker 4: You did not care about that bird and you didn't
- 4:25Speaker 4: care about the rest of the birds that you had
- 4:27Speaker 4: because you had five of them and they all sat
- 4:28Speaker 4: in cages and I entertained them. And when I wasn't around,
- 4:32Speaker 4: I know for damn sure nobody fucking cared for them.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Only your mother changed the bird seed in the water
- 4:36Speaker 4: every freaking week.
- 4:38Speaker 1: These are some pretty big allegations. It's quite interesting because
- 4:41Speaker 1: Michaela also claimed that Addis' most recent ex-girlfriend backed up
- 4:46Speaker 1: her allegations, saying she never saw the birds out of
- 4:49Speaker 1: their cages. Interesting that she is in correspondence with Addis'
- 4:53Speaker 1: latest ex as well. I wonder how the polls would
- 4:55Speaker 1: be feeling about this video because it was straight off
- 4:58Speaker 1: the back of Anna returning to TikTok. It's also very
- 5:01Speaker 1: clear from this TikTok that Michaela is bringing out this
- 5:03Speaker 1: podcast to basically air the Paul's dirty laundry. Where do
- 5:07Speaker 1: we think Addis is? I mean, it sounds like he's
- 5:09Speaker 1: in hiding. Do you think he's gone on this trip
- 5:11Speaker 1: to LA? Oh, I reckon he's in LA, but he's
- 5:14Speaker 1: just not featuring in any of the videos. He's lying low.
- 5:17Speaker 1: In terms of her podcast, I always thought it was
- 5:19Speaker 1: to slam the polls and I am patiently waiting. But
- 5:22Speaker 1: Michaela did say two weeks ago it was going to
- 5:23Speaker 1: be out in a week. It's already late. When do
- 5:26Speaker 1: we think she's dropping? I reckon it's out late because
- 5:28Speaker 1: the lawyers would be having to look over it. Now,
- 5:30Speaker 1: Anna is yet to respond to the allegations Michaela made
- 5:33Speaker 1: about her treatment of the birds. We'll wait and see.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I don't think she's going to comment on anything. Well,
- 5:38Speaker 1: a lot of the comments on her new TikToks were
- 5:40Speaker 1: about the birds. People were demanding an answer. Why can
- 5:42Speaker 1: I feel another remix coming if she does comment? The
- 5:45Speaker 1: amount of times I have that song, that remix in
- 5:47Speaker 1: my head is crazy. Megan Markle has announced on Instagram
- 5:56Speaker 1: that she's renaming her lifestyle brand. After an onslaught of
- 6:00Speaker 1: criticism over the name and a string of copyright issues,
- 6:03Speaker 1: American Riviera Orchard will now be called As Ever. The
- 6:08Speaker 1: Duchess of Sussex has also dropped that streaming giant Netflix
- 6:11Speaker 1: aren't just a partner in her upcoming lifestyle show, but
- 6:14Speaker 1: also a new partner in her business. Now, Sophie, Megan
- 6:18Speaker 1: made the admission in a short, real shot in her backyard.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I was so excited to see Megan actually talking to
- 6:24Speaker 1: the camera in selfie mode. Maybe she listened to the
- 6:26Speaker 1: podcast a couple of weeks ago because since she has
- 6:30Speaker 1: returned to Instagram, she has been dissed over her style
- 6:33Speaker 1: of posting with critics saying that she's stuck in the
- 6:37Speaker 1: 2010s and she hasn't adapted to the TikTok generation. Well,
- 6:40Speaker 1: her video did have some millennial elements to it. There
- 6:43Speaker 1: was quite a massive millennial pause at the start where
- 6:46Speaker 1: she was trying to work her camera and Prince Harry
- 6:47Speaker 1: was helping her. That's the bit that didn't really make
- 6:50Speaker 1: sense because as I said, she was speaking to the
- 6:53Speaker 1: camera in selfie mode, but it did begin with Prince
- 6:57Speaker 1: Harry saying it's recording, which didn't really make sense because
- 7:00Speaker 1: why would he turn the camera on if it was
- 7:02Speaker 1: in selfie mode? It's not like it was on a tripod.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I mean, I was happy to lap it all up.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I had a little shriek when I heard Harry in
- 7:08Speaker 1: the background. I'm like, I love it. I love that
- 7:11Speaker 1: they dropped that in. It was obviously strategic and I
- 7:13Speaker 1: bought into it. Oh, I love the little cameo. I
- 7:15Speaker 1: want to see Prince Harry where we can. And obviously
- 7:18Speaker 1: there's been so many rumors about the couple separating and
- 7:21Speaker 1: this big divorce. So I feel like they like to
- 7:23Speaker 1: include Harry where they can. The funniest thing is so
- 7:25Speaker 1: many people have been critiquing this video and especially this
- 7:28Speaker 1: opening sequence. And everyone's been saying you could tell they
- 7:31Speaker 1: tried to be so nonchalant about it, but it came
- 7:34Speaker 1: across that it was very much planned. Like let's feature
- 7:37Speaker 1: Harry and then we'll have him passing over the phone.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Well, she did cop some criticism as well for the
- 7:42Speaker 1: amount of edits that were in this video because people
- 7:44Speaker 1: said that she was trying to appear authentic by speaking
- 7:48Speaker 1: to the camera, but it was clear she wasn't able
- 7:50Speaker 1: to speak to the camera in one take. So it
- 7:53Speaker 1: kind of didn't feel as authentic as I think she
- 7:55Speaker 1: hoped it would. Did they watch TikTok?
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 1: If you watch any of the big TikTokers like Indie Clinton,
- 8:00Speaker 1: when she did the announce about her nose job, that
- 8:03Speaker 1: was cut up so much because you have to fit
- 8:04Speaker 1: it into the minute and a half. Yeah. I must
- 8:06Speaker 1: be so used to watching people on social media and
- 8:09Speaker 1: YouTube because I didn't even notice the cuts at all.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I love that she was very casual. So she was
- 8:14Speaker 1: wearing just a white shirt and jeans. She had very
- 8:16Speaker 1: minimal makeup on and her hair was pulled back. And
- 8:19Speaker 1: I think that that was a strategy because she has
- 8:21Speaker 1: been told that she's too put together. You know, she,
- 8:25Speaker 1: she needed to be relaxed. She was in her own
- 8:27Speaker 1: environment at home. Well, anytime she puts out a video,
- 8:30Speaker 1: everyone is so quick, like the Daily Mail to actually
- 8:33Speaker 1: price all of the items of clothing that she's wearing.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I was like, that's a $ 7, 000 bracelet. This is her
- 8:38Speaker 1: $ 10, 000 shirt. Now let's dive into Megan's announcement because it
- 8:41Speaker 1: was quite a big one. And it appears that she
- 8:43Speaker 1: has been under pressure to reveal this rebrand because there's
- 8:47Speaker 1: been news outlets who have been threatening to get in
- 8:50Speaker 1: before her. And now that Megan is active on her socials,
- 8:53Speaker 1: it's really a way for her to get in first
- 8:56Speaker 1: and to try to control the narrative. Let's throw to
- 8:59Speaker 1: what Megan said. Cat's out of the bag.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I'm shocked we've kept this a secret for so long.
- 9:04Speaker 2: In two weeks, my show's coming out, which I'm so
- 9:06Speaker 2: excited for, and also my business, which I think there's
- 9:10Speaker 2: been a lot of curiosity about. Last year, I had thought,
- 9:14Speaker 2: you know what, American Revere, that sounds like such a
- 9:16Speaker 2: great name. It's my neighborhood, it's a nickname for Santa Barbara,
- 9:20Speaker 2: but it limited me to things that were just manufactured
- 9:23Speaker 2: and grown in this area. Then Netflix came on, not
- 9:27Speaker 2: just as my partner in the show, but as my
- 9:29Speaker 2: partner in my business.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Which was huge.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I thought about it and I've been waiting for a
- 9:36Speaker 2: moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022.
- 9:38Speaker 2: And this is the moment. And it's called As Ever.
- 9:42Speaker 2: As Ever essentially means as it's always been. And if
- 9:45Speaker 2: you followed me since 2014 with the Tig, you know,
- 9:48Speaker 2: I've always loved cooking and crafting and gardening. This is
- 9:50Speaker 2: what I do. And I haven't been able to share
- 9:52Speaker 2: it with you in the same way for the past
- 9:54Speaker 2: few years, but now I can. So as things are
- 9:56Speaker 2: starting to trickle out there, I wanted you to hear
- 9:58Speaker 2: it from me first. Of course, there will be fruit
- 10:01Speaker 2: preserves I think we're all clear at this point the
- 10:03Speaker 2: jam is my jam but there's so many more products
- 10:05Speaker 2: that I just love that I use in my home
- 10:07Speaker 2: and now it's time to share it with you so
- 10:09Speaker 2: I can't wait for you to see.
- 10:10Speaker 1: It there is a lot to dissect there I want
- 10:13Speaker 1: to talk first about the rebrand as we heard Megan
- 10:16Speaker 1: said that the name American Riviera Orchard limited her to
- 10:20Speaker 1: only selling products that originated in Santa Barbara. So that's
- 10:24Speaker 1: why they made the decision to rebrand to As Ever,
- 10:27Speaker 1: which I personally think is a way better name anyway.
- 10:30Speaker 1: It kind of gave me fairy tale vibes, which originally
- 10:33Speaker 1: when she started dating Prince Harry, everyone was like, oh
- 10:36Speaker 1: my gosh, she's a fairy princess. And she said that
- 10:39Speaker 1: she has actually had the name As Ever in the
- 10:41Speaker 1: pipeline since 2022. And it's how she has signed off
- 10:45Speaker 1: on all of her Instagram posts. You would also assume
- 10:47Speaker 1: that maybe This is how she signs off her personal correspondence,
- 10:51Speaker 1: whether it's emails to staff. It seems to be a term.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Surely not. Well, it seems to be a term that
- 10:55Speaker 1: she actually uses and is authentic to her. I saw
- 10:58Speaker 1: a lot of people on TikTok just saying how twatty
- 11:01Speaker 1: the name was. They're like, as ever. And it has
- 11:04Speaker 1: a real Americanism to it, doesn't it?
- 11:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I mean, it's a very... earnest type of term. I
- 11:09Speaker 1: thought her Netflix show would have the same name, but
- 11:12Speaker 1: With Love is actually Hilary Duff's perfume brand. Maybe it
- 11:15Speaker 1: was already copyrighted. We don't want Hilary coming out and
- 11:17Speaker 1: adding to her lawsuit. Well, if you think about it though,
- 11:19Speaker 1: As Ever and With Love are both ways to sign off.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So they sort of both pair together quite nicely. It's
- 11:25Speaker 1: a far better name than American Riviera Orchard. I mean,
- 11:28Speaker 1: it doesn't particularly roll off the tongue, does it? was
- 11:35Speaker 1: the copyright issues that she's been having with the name
- 11:38Speaker 1: American Riviera Orchard. So the trademark was rejected last year.
- 11:42Speaker 1: And that is because you cannot have exclusive rights to
- 11:45Speaker 1: the name of a place. And American Riviera is a
- 11:48Speaker 1: commonly used place name to describe Santa Barbara, where she
- 11:52Speaker 1: lives with Prince Harry. There were also other food companies
- 11:54Speaker 1: complaining that the name was too similar to theirs, which
- 11:57Speaker 1: is very common when a celebrity comes out with a brand.
- 11:59Speaker 1: We saw it when Hailey Bieber released Rode. There were
- 12:03Speaker 1: also complaints that the O in the logo didn't look
- 12:06Speaker 1: enough like a letter. And people have said that Meghan
- 12:09Speaker 1: has gaslighted her audience by not actually acknowledging that there
- 12:13Speaker 1: were issues with this name. I actually think the spin
- 12:17Speaker 1: she put on it was good because you have to
- 12:20Speaker 1: be quite invested in Meghan Markle to know that there
- 12:22Speaker 1: were all of these trademark issues. And To be honest,
- 12:26Speaker 1: who actually cares? Yeah, I personally didn't think that she
- 12:29Speaker 1: needed to go into it. It's already out there in
- 12:31Speaker 1: the news. If she made a point of commenting on
- 12:34Speaker 1: the copyright issues during her video, the media would have
- 12:37Speaker 1: been more likely to lead with that in their story
- 12:40Speaker 1: about the rebrand. And I also think that two things
- 12:43Speaker 1: can be true at once. Yes, she could have had
- 12:46Speaker 1: all of these issues with the trademark. But she also
- 12:49Speaker 1: could have felt like this name was more authentic to her.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I mean, she copped a lot of backlash over the
- 12:54Speaker 1: name American Riviera. She's had a year to think about it.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Maybe she thought, well, fuck that. This name is too difficult.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I just think any video she would have put out
- 13:02Speaker 1: would have been torn to shreds and any decision she
- 13:04Speaker 1: had made in terms of what to mention and what
- 13:06Speaker 1: to leave out. Well, I think also if she had
- 13:09Speaker 1: complained that she wasn't able to get the copyright, it
- 13:11Speaker 1: would be like, oh, she's so entitled and she just
- 13:13Speaker 1: complains and bitches and moans about everything. And they would
- 13:16Speaker 1: have made it more of an issue saying, oh, they
- 13:18Speaker 1: couldn't have even got their ducks in a row before
- 13:20Speaker 1: they released this. I did like in the video that
- 13:23Speaker 1: she referenced the Tig, which was her old lifestyle blog,
- 13:26Speaker 1: because I think it was a really subtle way to
- 13:29Speaker 1: remind her audience that she has worked in the lifestyle
- 13:32Speaker 1: space before and she knows what she's doing. A lot
- 13:34Speaker 1: of people picked up that there was a bit of
- 13:36Speaker 1: a dig that she wasn't able to share about her
- 13:39Speaker 1: love for crafting and gardening because of the royal family.
- 13:43Speaker 1: People were saying it was a bit of a burn
- 13:45Speaker 1: to them. I think that the media is so quick
- 13:47Speaker 1: to label anything as some sort of burn towards the
- 13:51Speaker 1: royal family. She's probably just saying, look, I wasn't actually
- 13:53Speaker 1: allowed to share on socials. But I want to remind
- 13:55Speaker 1: you that these are all things that I genuinely and
- 13:57Speaker 1: authentically enjoy doing. I really liked how she joked in
- 14:01Speaker 1: the video that jam is her jam. Or other people
- 14:04Speaker 1: didn't like that. Well, I thought it was pretty cute
- 14:06Speaker 1: because there's been so many media reports saying, when are
- 14:10Speaker 1: we getting the jam? And it makes sense as to
- 14:13Speaker 1: why we haven't got our hands on the jam yet,
- 14:15Speaker 1: because clearly there's been these issues with the name and
- 14:18Speaker 1: also her new partnership. And also the fact that they're
- 14:20Speaker 1: waiting for the Netflix show. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. She has
- 14:24Speaker 1: already sent out American Riviera Orchard Jam to her celebrity friends,
- 14:28Speaker 1: which I'm sure are huge collector's items now. Could you
- 14:31Speaker 1: imagine having one of these? They're all just celebrities that
- 14:34Speaker 1: have got them anyway. Yeah, I don't think they'll be
- 14:36Speaker 1: selling them on Facebook Marketplace or anything. Now, the rebrand
- 14:39Speaker 1: has come just a few weeks before the launch of
- 14:41Speaker 1: Megan's new Netflix series. And I was really shocked to
- 14:45Speaker 1: hear that Netflix was joining Megan as a partner on
- 14:48Speaker 1: her new lifestyle brand, particularly because the media has been
- 14:52Speaker 1: reporting for quite some time now that Netflix must be
- 14:55Speaker 1: regretting its $ 100 million contract with the couple. And that
- 14:59Speaker 1: story really picked up a lot of traction after Harry's
- 15:02Speaker 1: polo documentary didn't do so well. Do you think this
- 15:05Speaker 1: was a little bit of a sweetener from Harry and
- 15:07Speaker 1: Meghan to Netflix? Because a lot of people have been
- 15:09Speaker 1: saying that Netflix definitely haven't gotten back a very good
- 15:12Speaker 1: return on the $ 100 million that they spent. Or potentially,
- 15:15Speaker 1: but I more see it as that Netflix can see
- 15:18Speaker 1: huge potential in Meghan and her brand. And they want
- 15:21Speaker 1: to take full advantage of what people are calling the
- 15:24Speaker 1: Meghan effect. Because whilst Meghan does have a lot of
- 15:27Speaker 1: people who hate her online and they're very vocal about that.
- 15:31Speaker 1: She also has a huge population of women who are
- 15:34Speaker 1: obsessed with her and her style. And this month it
- 15:37Speaker 1: was reported that jewelry brand Valencia Keys had an 11,000%
- 15:42Speaker 1: spike in sales after Megan was spotted wearing their bracelet
- 15:46Speaker 1: at the Invictus Games. So you can only imagine how
- 15:49Speaker 1: nuts people will go for her own line of products.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Do you think people are going to go crazy over Jambo? Well,
- 15:54Speaker 1: I think it would be more the homewares that she's
- 15:56Speaker 1: spruiking on her Netflix show. And when I first heard this,
- 15:59Speaker 1: I was like, why would Netflix be interested in selling
- 16:02Speaker 1: physical items? But actually for a few years now, they
- 16:05Speaker 1: have a Netflix shop front, which is very similar to
- 16:08Speaker 1: the Amazon store front where they sell products. So essentially
- 16:11Speaker 1: people can watch Megan's show and shop directly from it.
- 16:14Speaker 1: So I'm like, Oh, I like that photo frame. That's
- 16:16Speaker 1: actually from her store. I can buy it.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I was totally unaware that Netflix had its own shop
- 16:21Speaker 1: front too. And I had a look and they sell
- 16:24Speaker 1: a lot of merch for different TV shows. It's all
- 16:26Speaker 1: very tacky at the moment. So I really feel like
- 16:29Speaker 1: this partnership is going to be very mutually beneficial for
- 16:32Speaker 1: both parties because until now, I feel like hardly anyone
- 16:35Speaker 1: knew they had a shop front. And I think that
- 16:37Speaker 1: they're going to really lift their game and be more
- 16:39Speaker 1: of a competitor for Amazon. seeing as they're going to
- 16:42Speaker 1: have such a big brand like Megan's to sell.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:45Speaker 1: And the fact that they can also make use of
- 16:47Speaker 1: affiliate links now. So I think there'll be a lot
- 16:50Speaker 1: of other celebrities wanting to get a taste of what
- 16:52Speaker 1: Megan is going to. Now the media have heavily been
- 16:55Speaker 1: reporting on Megan's new website for as ever, because the
- 16:59Speaker 1: background of the website does feature a photo of Megan
- 17:03Speaker 1: and her daughter, Princess Lilibet. So they are running across
- 17:06Speaker 1: a grass field and It is very rare to see
- 17:10Speaker 1: photos of Archie and Lilibet. We haven't seen too much
- 17:13Speaker 1: of them. I mean, it is the back of her head.
- 17:14Speaker 1: We can see that she's got beautiful ginger hair. I mean,
- 17:18Speaker 1: you can't really see much at all. I was like, oh,
- 17:20Speaker 1: is that Lilibet and tried to zoom and it's just
- 17:22Speaker 1: literally her hair. A few commentators have said that we
- 17:25Speaker 1: are seeing in real time the modernization of Princess Lilibet
- 17:28Speaker 1: and also Prince Archie because this is the first time
- 17:32Speaker 1: that we are seeing royal kids doing seemingly normal things
- 17:36Speaker 1: with their parents on Instagram and wearing normal clothes. With
- 17:39Speaker 1: their aunt in front of a paparazzi where it's like, oh,
- 17:41Speaker 1: if we walk past you on our snow trip, can
- 17:44Speaker 1: you fuck off and not take photos of us? It's
- 17:46Speaker 1: actually the parents putting them forward. On Valentine's Day, Megan
- 17:49Speaker 1: actually featured Archie in one of her Instagram stories. I mean,
- 17:52Speaker 1: we only really saw the back of his head, but
- 17:54Speaker 1: she was cutting up strawberries in the shape of hearts
- 17:57Speaker 1: to make a little treat for the kids to eat.
- 17:59Speaker 1: And They looked really excited and they were running around.
- 18:01Speaker 1: They were just acting like normal kids. I am somewhat
- 18:04Speaker 1: surprised the kids have made a feature, particularly because it
- 18:07Speaker 1: is around Meghan pushing her new lifestyle brand, particularly when
- 18:11Speaker 1: the couple left the royal family and said that they
- 18:13Speaker 1: wanted privacy for their children and for them. I saw
- 18:17Speaker 1: a headline which said, privacy loving Harry and Meghan use
- 18:20Speaker 1: Lilibet in a lifestyle campaign. The reason I think it's
- 18:24Speaker 1: different is because this is their business, which they have
- 18:28Speaker 1: control over. They were worried about the media invading their
- 18:32Speaker 1: children's privacy. It's different if they can control what's being
- 18:35Speaker 1: put out of their kids. It's different if they can
- 18:37Speaker 1: make a dollar offer. Is that what you're saying? No,
- 18:38Speaker 1: that's not what I'm saying. They have control over what
- 18:41Speaker 1: they show of their kids. For instance, it was the
- 18:42Speaker 1: back of her head. Yeah, but by sharing vision of
- 18:45Speaker 1: their children, they are whipping up media frenzy who want
- 18:47Speaker 1: to then take photos of them and they're giving them
- 18:49Speaker 1: a profile. But she's releasing a lifestyle brand. Is she
- 18:52Speaker 1: supposed to pretend that she's not a mum? I just
- 18:54Speaker 1: can't get over how much backlash Meghan has copped over
- 18:57Speaker 1: this because she's not the first royal– if you look
- 19:00Speaker 1: back to actually try and release different products. I mean,
- 19:03Speaker 1: remember Fergie? She had her Weight Watchers campaign. I said
- 19:06Speaker 1: Budgie is a little helicopter TV show. Yeah, she was
- 19:09Speaker 1: the voiceover in Budgie the Helicopter. No, she wrote it.
- 19:11Speaker 1: They were her books. Oh, were they? I was going
- 19:13Speaker 1: to say she's also written a whole load of other
- 19:14Speaker 1: children's books. Unfortunately, the fact is that once these people
- 19:18Speaker 1: leave the royal family and the protection of the royal
- 19:20Speaker 1: family and the money they get, they have to go
- 19:23Speaker 1: out and make their own money and everyone's shocked. But
- 19:25Speaker 1: also she's only in her early 40s. This is a
- 19:27Speaker 1: woman who had a very successful acting career. She was
- 19:30Speaker 1: in an incredible show, Suits Kate, which we're watching at
- 19:33Speaker 1: the moment. Why can't she do better? Why can't she
- 19:37Speaker 1: want to do more since she's left the royal family?
- 19:39Speaker 1: We would have more of an issue if she sat
- 19:41Speaker 1: and lived off their money for the rest of her life.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I've seen a lot of people saying that they don't
- 19:46Speaker 1: know what it is, but something about Meghan comes across
- 19:49Speaker 1: as beneficial. really insufferable. Like someone on TikTok said that
- 19:53Speaker 1: she just reminds her of this insufferable friend that's a
- 19:56Speaker 1: little bit mean behind people's backs, but comes across as
- 19:59Speaker 1: sickly sweet. I've been thinking about it because Sophie, as
- 20:01Speaker 1: you prefaced, we have been watching Suits again. So when
- 20:05Speaker 1: I watched Meghan Markle's video, I was like, my God,
- 20:07Speaker 1: it's Rachel Zane. And I love the character of Rachel.
- 20:10Speaker 1: So I think there are a couple of camps of people.
- 20:12Speaker 1: There are the people that watch Suits and knew her
- 20:14Speaker 1: on that program and they feel like they've got a
- 20:16Speaker 1: connection with her that are like, oh, good on her.
- 20:19Speaker 1: And then there's the people that are monikers and think
- 20:21Speaker 1: that she's ruined the royal family. And then there are
- 20:23Speaker 1: also boomer women who just don't like her for some reason. Well,
- 20:26Speaker 1: I asked my friend who used to live in the
- 20:28Speaker 1: UK and she was saying what it comes down to
- 20:30Speaker 1: is a lot of people in England don't like her
- 20:32Speaker 1: because Harry was always their favorite and they feel like
- 20:36Speaker 1: she has taken Harry away from them. And I think
- 20:38Speaker 1: it's also because she does come across as being very American.
- 20:42Speaker 1: If you compare that to the way a lot of
- 20:43Speaker 1: British people act or talk, it's quite jarring to them.
- 20:48Speaker 5: As she always threatens her ex besties with legal action
- 20:50Speaker 5: during friendship breakdowns, false, never happened.
- 20:54Speaker 1: No, no, and no. It took 15 years, but Ashley
- 20:58Speaker 1: Bynes has finally addressed the most persistent rumor that has
- 21:02Speaker 1: followed her during her time on social media. In a
- 21:05Speaker 1: recent episode of her podcast, the OG fitness influencer denied
- 21:09Speaker 1: that she's ever silenced her former friends with gag orders. Kate,
- 21:12Speaker 1: can you tell us more? This was a very juicy episode.
- 21:16Speaker 1: So alongside her co-host, Tiana Bundelow, Ashi answered listeners' assumptions
- 21:22Speaker 1: about her. Awkwardly, most of them had to do with
- 21:25Speaker 1: Ashi's feud with her former podcast co-host, Kiara Dorough, as
- 21:28Speaker 1: well as her other high-profile friendship breakdowns. Now, we covered
- 21:32Speaker 1: this podcast feud pretty extensively back in November last year,
- 21:36Speaker 1: but Amy, can you give listeners a quick refresher? Yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 1: so Ashi and Kiara hosted the Grow and Glow podcast
- 21:42Speaker 1: together for around two years, And they were even set
- 21:45Speaker 1: to launch a product together. But on the day of
- 21:48Speaker 1: the launch, they said there was a delay. And then
- 21:50Speaker 1: a week later, they did the dirty unfollow of each
- 21:53Speaker 1: other on social media and announced Kiara was leaving the
- 21:56Speaker 1: podcast to focus on her family. Now, Kiara made it
- 21:59Speaker 1: clear on her socials that there was more to this story.
- 22:03Speaker 1: She posted cryptic quotes about friendship breakdowns and narcissists, as
- 22:07Speaker 1: well as writing, I can't say much because I'm already
- 22:10Speaker 1: losing so much. and don't want to lose any more.
- 22:13Speaker 1: But thank you, you are also clever with a winking emoji. Now,
- 22:17Speaker 1: this caused a lot of her followers to speculate that
- 22:19Speaker 1: Kiara had allegedly been hit with a gag order, as
- 22:22Speaker 1: Ashley has a bit of a reputation for allegedly sending
- 22:25Speaker 1: cease and desist letters. Now, Ashley went into damage control
- 22:28Speaker 1: in the podcast's Facebook page, saying she was shocked by
- 22:31Speaker 1: Kiara's behavior. And a few weeks later, Kiara shared on
- 22:35Speaker 1: her Instagram story that she was dining with Ashy's former
- 22:38Speaker 1: high-profile best friends, Sammy Leo and Gretty Rose. Such a
- 22:42Speaker 1: fuck you. Yeah. And in January, Ashy relaunched the podcast
- 22:46Speaker 1: under a new name called She Rises with new bestie
- 22:49Speaker 1: and co-host Tiana Bundalo. Now that everyone is up to speed,
- 22:53Speaker 1: I want to get into the juicy details from this
- 22:55Speaker 1: new podcast. And I was really pleasantly surprised that Ashy
- 22:59Speaker 1: actually answered a bunch of controversial questions. Because I'm so
- 23:03Speaker 1: used to influencers asking their followers for questions and then
- 23:06Speaker 1: they refuse to answer any of the ones people actually
- 23:09Speaker 1: want the answers to. It's like, what's your favourite colour?
- 23:12Speaker 1: No one cares. Get to the drama. Oh, and they're shocked. Like,
- 23:14Speaker 1: this one has just inundated my inbox. You're like, answer it. Yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 1: and she really didn't shy away. This is what she
- 23:20Speaker 1: said about the gag order rumour.
- 23:23Speaker 5: Why were people saying there was a gag order on others?
- 23:26Speaker 5: By the way, I don't believe it's true. So I
- 23:28Speaker 5: think if you know, you know what this is about.
- 23:31Speaker 5: Can I just clarify? There was no gag orders or
- 23:35Speaker 5: NDAs or anything put on anyone.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Any of my friendships, anything that's happened. If anything, I've
- 23:41Speaker 5: had one on me before. I've had to sign one.
- 23:45Speaker 5: That is a rumor that's been floating around the internet
- 23:47Speaker 5: for the last fucking 15 years. I have gag orders
- 23:50Speaker 5: on people.
- 23:51Speaker 6: Not true.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Completely false.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Everyone is free to talk about what they want to
- 23:55Speaker 5: talk about, to say what they want to say.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 5: I think some people say that because maybe they don't
- 24:00Speaker 5: actually want to tell the true story, but there's no
- 24:03Speaker 5: gag orders.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 5: So I can clear that up once and for all.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Well, whether Ashley does have a gag order on Kiara
- 24:09Speaker 1: or not, you can tell that Kiara is concerned about
- 24:12Speaker 1: potentially defaming her. So that might be why she has
- 24:15Speaker 1: had such choice words when talking about Ashley. I think
- 24:18Speaker 1: it's really important for Ashley to squash this rumor because
- 24:20Speaker 1: it just seems to be getting bigger and bigger and
- 24:22Speaker 1: out of control. It's an ironic one though, to say,
- 24:24Speaker 1: I don't have gag orders out against people, but if
- 24:27Speaker 1: she actually did, it's not like they could even respond.
- 24:31Speaker 1: And in trying to shut down these rumours, she created
- 24:34Speaker 1: another one by saying that she had a gag order
- 24:36Speaker 1: placed on her, which has just led to further speculation. Yeah,
- 24:39Speaker 1: a lot of people are speculating that it was from
- 24:41Speaker 1: Emily Skye. Again, an unproven claim that has no factual basis.
- 24:45Speaker 1: But you would think if you're trying to shut all
- 24:47Speaker 1: of these rumours down, you wouldn't add that information in.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Why did I just get Lindsay Lohan's rumour song in
- 24:54Speaker 1: my head? Well, another highly anticipated question as she answered
- 24:58Speaker 1: was this. Next one. Ashley gets bored of friends and
- 25:02Speaker 1: moves on quickly when she finds someone new and shiny.
- 25:05Speaker 5: Stephanie just rolled her eyes. Oh, what a crazy assumption.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's wild.
- 25:09Speaker 5: And what people don't realize is I still have the
- 25:12Speaker 5: core group of girlfriends I've had since I.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Was a teenager. Now, this is a rumor that has
- 25:17Speaker 1: long plagued Ashley since her high profile friendship breakdown with Sammy, Leo,
- 25:21Speaker 1: Gretty Rose, and Nat Rowland. And it's one she's been
- 25:24Speaker 1: very defensive about It's also one that Kiara has played
- 25:28Speaker 1: against her publicly by catching up with all of those women. Now,
- 25:32Speaker 1: Ashley went on to talk about how formative her long-term
- 25:35Speaker 1: friendships are and then said this.
- 25:38Speaker 5: However, there has been friendship breakdowns that have been blasted
- 25:42Speaker 5: all over the internet. So I can see why people
- 25:46Speaker 5: may think that. And I think this person may be
- 25:48Speaker 5: referring to you being the new podcast host and a
- 25:51Speaker 5: new friend of my life.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Ashi went on to say that she's always going to
- 25:55Speaker 1: be open to making new connections and reiterated it wasn't
- 25:58Speaker 1: about getting bored with a friendship. It's when something happens
- 26:01Speaker 1: and she and the friend can't move past it or
- 26:04Speaker 1: drift apart and the chapter closes. Ashi also went on
- 26:07Speaker 1: to answer three separate assumption questions about her former podcast
- 26:11Speaker 1: co-host Kiara Darrow. So the first was an assumption about
- 26:15Speaker 1: Kiara not being a good friend because she didn't visit
- 26:18Speaker 1: Ashi in hospital. So Ashi pretty much shot this one
- 26:21Speaker 1: down saying she didn't think Kiara was a bad friend
- 26:24Speaker 1: for not visiting her. Now, another assumption was that Ashi
- 26:27Speaker 1: started drama with Kiara, which she denied. She said she
- 26:31Speaker 1: was supportive of Kiara's decision to leave the podcast to
- 26:34Speaker 1: spend more time with her family and insisted Kiara encouraged
- 26:38Speaker 1: her to get a new podcast host. Now, Ashi's co-host
- 26:41Speaker 1: Tiana was quick to jump in and back Ashi up
- 26:44Speaker 1: saying it was so far from the truth. Ashi then
- 26:47Speaker 1: said this.
- 26:49Speaker 5: You could literally interview our podcast producers, everyone involved, and
- 26:52Speaker 5: they would back that to the cows come home.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:55Speaker 1: That is total opposite. Now, the final question was in
- 26:59Speaker 1: regards to Kiara's thoughts on the new podcast rebrand. So
- 27:03Speaker 1: while Ashley said she couldn't speak on her behalf, she
- 27:05Speaker 1: said she hoped she was happy for her. She went
- 27:08Speaker 1: on to say she could understand if she wasn't feeling
- 27:10Speaker 1: good about the rebrand because of jealousy. Do you know
- 27:13Speaker 1: what this all demonstrates to me? is that Ashi is
- 27:17Speaker 1: desperate for podcast downloads because this goes against her whole
- 27:22Speaker 1: branding of, you know, being the bigger person and rising above.
- 27:25Speaker 1: She wants to wane to the weeds because clearly no
- 27:29Speaker 1: one's been that excited about these podcast rebrands. No one
- 27:31Speaker 1: is listening and she thinks, well, fuck, I actually need
- 27:33Speaker 1: to talk about all of these controversial issues to get
- 27:36Speaker 1: any download. But does Ashi honestly think that people are
- 27:38Speaker 1: buying this stuff? I tend to agree with you, Sophie.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I'm guessing the downloads aren't that good because the other
- 27:44Speaker 1: assumptions that Ashi touched on mostly had to do with
- 27:47Speaker 1: her sex life. There were questions like, are you bisexual?
- 27:50Speaker 1: How many times do you have sex with your husband?
- 27:52Speaker 1: This sounds like a great episode. Like, as you said,
- 27:55Speaker 1: finally someone actually answering the questions people want to hear.
- 27:58Speaker 1: It seems like they're going down the route of Steph
- 28:00Speaker 1: Gless Smith and Laura Henshaw's podcast of that sort of
- 28:02Speaker 1: shock value, stuff that they can cut up on TikTok
- 28:05Speaker 1: that will go viral. I mean, it's clever that But
- 28:07Speaker 1: the thing is, I suppose you've got to work out
- 28:09Speaker 1: how much of your soul you want to bear in
- 28:11Speaker 1: order for a podcast to do well. Well, Kiara, understandably,
- 28:15Speaker 1: wasn't too happy about Ashi's podcast episode and she defended
- 28:18Speaker 1: herself on her Instagram story writing, people must be running
- 28:21Speaker 1: out of things to talk about because once again, I'm
- 28:24Speaker 1: the hot topic. Laugh out loud. Don't believe a word
- 28:26Speaker 1: she said. Ask her to share the texts between my
- 28:29Speaker 1: husband and hers. That will clear things up real quick.
- 28:32Speaker 1: If she has lost them, I've still got them. Also,
- 28:34Speaker 1: I did ask to visit her in hospital multiple times
- 28:37Speaker 1: and she declined because it was a quick turnaround. She
- 28:39Speaker 1: was in ICU, so couldn't have visitors. Now, Kiara wasn't
- 28:43Speaker 1: done there. She jumped on her stories and said this.
- 28:47Speaker 6: Hopefully, this is the last time I'm even having to
- 28:49Speaker 6: bring this up because I'm honestly so sick of talking
- 28:51Speaker 6: about this topic. I'm trying so hard, guys, to move on,
- 28:55Speaker 6: move forward, enjoy my life, like not bring anyone else down.
- 28:58Speaker 6: Hence why, you know, I haven't. Um, I'm trying so
- 29:03Speaker 6: hard to rise above it, but yeah, I mean, at
- 29:05Speaker 6: the end of the day, I've got screenshots. I've got
- 29:07Speaker 6: what I need to show that I'm telling the truth,
- 29:10Speaker 6: but I'm trying to not make life harder for other people.
- 29:13Speaker 1: So I'm going to keep going on with my life.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Have a beautiful day.
- 29:17Speaker 6: Enjoy the rest of my week.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Hopefully never have to talk about any of this again. Um,
- 29:20Speaker 1: and hope you guys have a beautiful.
- 29:21Speaker 5: Day as well.
- 29:22Speaker 6: And remember, you can always choose kindness, but also, yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 6: I won't let people talk about me and try to
- 29:28Speaker 6: bring me down without defending myself so yeah I mean
- 29:31Speaker 6: I'm happy to release screenshots if you if you really
- 29:32Speaker 6: want me to but um I don't think you would
- 29:34Speaker 6: want me to so I'm trying to be kind I'm
- 29:36Speaker 6: trying to be nice have a beautiful day guys.
- 29:39Speaker 1: That was almost a little subtle plug for Ashley's podcast
- 29:41Speaker 1: because she referenced Rising Above It, which is the name
- 29:44Speaker 1: of her podcast. Yeah, well, she did poke fun at that.
- 29:46Speaker 1: She wrote on her story, Rise Above It All, laugh
- 29:48Speaker 1: out loud, but honestly, time to walk the walk. I,
- 29:51Speaker 1: for one, desperately want to see the screenshot she's referencing.
- 29:55Speaker 1: She did say her audience probably doesn't want her to
- 29:57Speaker 1: show them. No, Kiara, you are completely wrong. People want
- 30:00Speaker 1: you to show them. I think it's a bit of
- 30:01Speaker 1: a warning to Ashley. Like, please keep my name out
- 30:03Speaker 1: of your mouth. And if you continue to talk about
- 30:05Speaker 1: me on your podcast, I'm going to start releasing stuff.
- 30:07Speaker 1: That's very Will Smith of you, Amy, that comment.
- 30:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Let's get into our Friday debrief and I'm going to
- 30:12Speaker 1: kick us off. I have a recommendation for you. I
- 30:15Speaker 1: tried fairy bread hot cross buns and I was on
- 30:19Speaker 1: the fence about them. I'm like, I'm just going to
- 30:20Speaker 1: pop them in the basket because I needed to bump
- 30:22Speaker 1: up our online shop. I have no regrets. They were
- 30:26Speaker 1: so good. I've never seen them before. Is this a
- 30:28Speaker 1: new thing? They were just from Woolies. I think they've
- 30:30Speaker 1: been around maybe for a year or so. Every year
- 30:33Speaker 1: they seem to bring out a new flavor. I remember
- 30:34Speaker 1: last Easter, you know, Ian Huey Hewitson? Yes. He launched
- 30:38Speaker 1: on TikTok. I think his granddaughter was helping him film.
- 30:41Speaker 1: And I remember he did a taste test of all
- 30:43Speaker 1: of the different hot cross buns. It was Possibly the
- 30:45Speaker 1: cutest thing I've ever seen. See, I normally like the
- 30:48Speaker 1: fruitless ones because I'm not a massive Sultana fan and
- 30:51Speaker 1: I'll put Nutella on there. But these fairy bread ones,
- 30:53Speaker 1: it was so good because I've got a bit of
- 30:55Speaker 1: white chocolate in them and you put them in the
- 30:57Speaker 1: oven and then cut them in half so that the
- 30:58Speaker 1: bread is still soft in the middle, put butter on,
- 31:01Speaker 1: and then they had a little packet of hundreds and
- 31:03Speaker 1: thousands of sprinkles as well. Yeah. I'm a bit of
- 31:06Speaker 1: a fan of the Baker's Delight sprinkled finger buns. So
- 31:10Speaker 1: this is definitely up my alley. I'm going to have
- 31:12Speaker 1: to try it. Well, I have been dying to talk
- 31:14Speaker 1: about a snippet I saw from Sunday night's episode of
- 31:18Speaker 1: Married at First Sight. So for context, contestants Ryan and
- 31:21Speaker 1: Jackie were sitting on the couch and they were having
- 31:23Speaker 1: a debrief with the experts when this happened. Now, Mavs
- 31:33Speaker 1: fans were quick to share this clip across TikTok with
- 31:36Speaker 1: many people questioning who farted on the couch. And why
- 31:40Speaker 1: was it not edited out?
- 31:41Speaker 3: I know.
- 31:42Speaker 1: So a lot of people said, well, maybe it was
- 31:44Speaker 1: Jackie saying, no, it wasn't. It had to be a fart.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Is this a leather couch? Yeah, I think it was
- 31:50Speaker 1: actually a leather couch. But it's also very amplified. I
- 31:53Speaker 1: feel like that fart was turned up. Did anyone actually
- 31:55Speaker 1: say anything about the fart? No, there was nothing mentioned. Now,
- 31:58Speaker 1: my favorite comment on TikTok was someone who wrote, I
- 32:01Speaker 1: was watching it by myself and thought I farted. This
- 32:05Speaker 1: actually reminds me of years and years ago. I was
- 32:08Speaker 1: out for meal with my ex-boyfriend so his parents were
- 32:11Speaker 1: in Europe and we'd been invited over to his family
- 32:15Speaker 1: friend's house for dinner so this older couple they'd made
- 32:18Speaker 1: him his favorite dessert which was chocolate mousse and he
- 32:22Speaker 1: was actually helping himself to seconds of the chocolate mousse
- 32:25Speaker 1: when we all heard an audible fart and literally similar
- 32:29Speaker 1: to maths, no one said anything. And it was so
- 32:31Speaker 1: obvious that it was him. And we got in the
- 32:33Speaker 1: car and he said, gee, I think I hid that
- 32:34Speaker 1: pretty well. I was like, are you serious? We all
- 32:37Speaker 1: knew it was you. It's kind of like when you
- 32:38Speaker 1: hang out with grandparents or elderly people and they get
- 32:41Speaker 1: to that stage where they just let out a fart
- 32:43Speaker 1: now and then, and everyone just has to pretend it's
- 32:45Speaker 1: not happened because they haven't heard it themselves. I really
- 32:47Speaker 1: feel like someone should have taken ownership of that fart
- 32:50Speaker 1: on maths though. Well, Adrian, who's probably the most controversial
- 32:53Speaker 1: groom on this year's series, he actually weighed in and
- 32:55Speaker 1: wrote under the TikTok. He said that the cameraman did
- 32:58Speaker 1: him dirty because they panned to him after the fart
- 33:01Speaker 1: noise and he denied that it was him. Well, whoever
- 33:03Speaker 1: denied it usually supplied it. So I don't know who
- 33:05Speaker 1: I believe. I also have a recommendation and it is
- 33:09Speaker 1: for a new documentary, which has dropped on Netflix called
- 33:12Speaker 1: American Murder, Gabby Petito. Now this is the story of
- 33:16Speaker 1: a 22 year old American girl called Gabby who embarked
- 33:20Speaker 1: on a van trip with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. Now
- 33:24Speaker 1: they made headlines in 2021 when he returned home, but
- 33:28Speaker 1: she didn't. It's all coming back. Did she have a
- 33:31Speaker 1: YouTube channel documenting the trip as well? Yeah, well, she
- 33:33Speaker 1: actually started her YouTube channel when they embarked on this
- 33:37Speaker 1: trip and she decided that she wanted to try and
- 33:39Speaker 1: make that her career. And in the documentary, It shows
- 33:43Speaker 1: a lot of the behind the scenes of the filming
- 33:45Speaker 1: because they basically had access to all of her videos.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Oh my God. And you would see a lot of
- 33:50Speaker 1: moments where there was tension between the couple and they
- 33:53Speaker 1: were arguing because Brian didn't want her to do the channel.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Did she have many followers on it?
- 33:59Speaker 2: No.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Well, what's really sad is she only released one video
- 34:03Speaker 1: and the video ended up getting millions and millions of
- 34:06Speaker 1: views basically after her murder. So it was really sad
- 34:10Speaker 1: because she was so keen to make it a success
- 34:12Speaker 1: and she would have never known that it got all
- 34:14Speaker 1: of the views for the reason that it did. My
- 34:16Speaker 1: partner and I were absolutely glued. It was riveting. The
- 34:20Speaker 1: documentary was cut up into episodes. So we binged the
- 34:23Speaker 1: whole thing in one night. How many episodes? There's three episodes.
- 34:27Speaker 1: They're about an hour long. So we did have quite
- 34:29Speaker 1: a big night watching all of it. But it's that
- 34:32Speaker 1: sort of show. We couldn't turn it off. We just
- 34:35Speaker 1: kept looking at each other just saying, This is so sad. Look,
- 34:38Speaker 1: enjoy that binging TV while you can. Yeah, I will.
- 34:41Speaker 3: I will.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Now, I think that is all we have time for today.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us for this episode.
- 34:46Speaker 1: If you have enjoyed it, could you please make sure
- 34:48Speaker 1: you are subscribed on Apple Podcast and Spotify? And we
- 34:52Speaker 1: would love to see where you're listening from. It's one
- 34:54Speaker 1: of my favorite things when people share where they're listening
- 34:57Speaker 1: to the podcast from. I feel like on Fridays, it's
- 34:58Speaker 1: always somewhere more fun. Yeah, a lot of people work
- 35:01Speaker 1: from home on a Friday, so they might be doing
- 35:03Speaker 1: a sneaky little lunchtime walk. Yeah, please let us know.
- 35:06Speaker 1: And if you do enjoy the podcast, we would absolutely
- 35:08Speaker 1: love it if you could leave us a five-star review.
- 35:11Speaker 1: This episode was recorded on the traditional land of the
- 35:14Speaker 1: Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to
- 35:16Speaker 1: elders past and present.
