- 0:00Hello. I died in my dream and thus died in real
- 0:04life. But stuff still happened. So what's up?
- 0:09Dear listener, a lot is up and I sandwiched this
- 0:12episode with some fun and science, but the middle
- 0:16is brutal. Gonna be talking about war crimes
- 0:19and crimes against humanity. The good stuff.
- 0:22Uh, it's not good stuff. It's actually really,
- 0:23really bad stuff. But I'll say it's not gonna
- 0:25get super graphic. I'm not gonna show a bunch
- 0:27of dead bodies or anything like that. It's gonna
- 0:29be very, like, matter of fact, just kind of going
- 0:31over it. But before we get there, we have a few
- 0:34other things to talk through first, starting
- 0:36with a heist. It's been a second since we've
- 0:39had a nice heist here. All this stuff keeps happening.
- 0:41Let's talk about Renoir's second health bar.
- 0:44Fans of the video game Expedition 33 will know
- 0:46that it's not a good idea to just go and mess
- 0:48with Renoir without being prepared. In France,
- 0:51a couple of thieves decided to pull off a heist
- 0:53that is exactly what you would expect from people
- 0:56who are like, let's do a heist at a museum. Two
- 0:59thieves went to a museum that housed a bunch
- 1:01of Renoir originals and used power tools to cut
- 1:04through the fence and then jumped in through
- 1:06a window. They took an angle grinder to four
- 1:08Renoir originals and took them off the wall.
- 1:11It is at that point that they triggered the second
- 1:13phase. breeze through that first health bar but
- 1:16they tripped the alarm and a few minutes later
- 1:18authorities showed up freaking them out so these
- 1:21two dudes are trying to hold four full paintings
- 1:24and when the when the cops show up they're like
- 1:26nope never mind drop two just kind of throw them
- 1:29on the ground and they high -tailed it out of
- 1:32there at time of recording they're still they
- 1:36did it they got away with it They set out to
- 1:38get four paintings, only got two, but they got
- 1:40away from a Renoir museum with two Renoirs! That's
- 1:45impressive. I mean, it's illegal. It's very illegal,
- 1:48and I don't endorse it, officially, but it's
- 1:50impressive. The paintings that were stolen are
- 1:53Madame Ca -duh -cum -dum, huh? Madame Colado
- 1:57Romano? Wait, Madame Colada Romano is one of
- 2:01the paintings, and the other one was Coco Reading,
- 2:03and they're gone. We don't know where they are.
- 2:06Here's the thing, though. If you stole multiple
- 2:10original works from an extremely famous Impressionist,
- 2:14you're not gonna be able to just fence those.
- 2:17I mean, what do I know? I am not a high -level
- 2:20underground art fence, but that just seems like
- 2:24a hard piece to move. So like, we're probably
- 2:26not gonna see it cropping up anywhere anytime
- 2:27soon, but this is coming right on the heels of
- 2:29that heist at the Louvre, and Europe is basically
- 2:33on high alert for more museum heists, which means...
- 2:36I'm on high alert for more museum heist stories.
- 2:39Anyway, as long as we're talking about theft,
- 2:41let's talk about the theft of our future. From
- 2:44this fucking administration. Alright, look. The
- 2:47President of the United States is a dumbass.
- 2:50It's a very well -documented thing at this point.
- 2:52Never mind that instead of tackling at -home
- 2:55affordability issues ahead of the midterms, he's
- 2:57trying to, like, build a triumph arch in DC while
- 3:02also beefing about the reflecting pool. And also,
- 3:06we're doing war with Iran still. Affordability
- 3:08stateside was already bad, and it's trending
- 3:11worse. And with diesel prices continuing to skyrocket,
- 3:14it's getting pretty messy. And so Trump is doing
- 3:17exactly what he always does, which is blindly
- 3:20reacting to his latest blunder. See, Ukraine
- 3:22has been doing deeper and deeper strikes into
- 3:25Russian territory, trying to fend off Russia
- 3:27from the whole invading Ukraine thing. This includes
- 3:30striking oil refineries in Russia. And that upset
- 3:34Trump. because of diesel prices. So he calls
- 3:37up Zelensky and he's like, stop doing that, because
- 3:40that's negatively impacting the diesel prices
- 3:42in America. Now, obviously, Ukraine striking
- 3:45a few facilities in Russia is not what has caused
- 3:49the fuel shortage across the entire globe over
- 3:52the course of this year. That would be due to
- 3:54the Iran War that we're doing. But he makes this
- 3:58call and he turns around and he starts saying,
- 4:00it's all about diesel, diesel, diesel. That's
- 4:03how he described the call. I'm not one for reporting
- 4:06on what this guy said, right? Like, I don't care
- 4:10what he has said, but if we do take his speech
- 4:12patterns as sort of an indication of how he's
- 4:16thinking about things, which is a stretch, You'll
- 4:19notice that he very much likes to have these
- 4:21little like three -word catchphrases, usually
- 4:22the same word repeated three times. You got fight,
- 4:25fight, fight, win, win, win, drill, baby, drill,
- 4:29now we've got diesel, diesel, diesel. He likes
- 4:31to take whatever the most recent thing he learned
- 4:33is kind of important and make that his whole
- 4:36personality. Of course, he tells the entire world
- 4:38that he's the world's foremost expert on the
- 4:40subject about whatever the thing is. And I would
- 4:43wager that he never once thought about diesel...
- 4:46ever in his life before now. I just have a very
- 4:50hard time believing that Donald John Trump thought
- 4:53about the logistics of diesel and the role that
- 4:56it plays in the national trucking business and
- 4:59freight in general before making a strike on
- 5:01Iran and causing a global oil crisis. I just
- 5:04don't think that that was on his mind. But where
- 5:06he is right is that diesel prices are dangerously
- 5:09high and staying dangerously high. As I said
- 5:12last time, there are new records of record high
- 5:15diesel prices in the US basically daily right
- 5:18now. It's even gotten to the point that Republican
- 5:20Senator Chuck Grassley was like, ah, the diesel
- 5:22prices are so high. Trump should do something
- 5:24about that. And it's like, I feel like you could,
- 5:28too. As it stands, Trump is again threatening
- 5:31to annihilate Iran over and over again, and we're
- 5:34still at war and the Strait of Hormuz is still
- 5:36closed. And none of this needed to happen. It
- 5:41still just didn't need to happen. Really, I just
- 5:43was hoping for healthcare at some point in my
- 5:46life, but I guess that'll have to wait. Let's
- 5:48move on. Before we jump into the next section,
- 5:50I am going to do a little bit of self -promo,
- 5:52because I need to do that more. This show and
- 5:55everything I do is a one -man operation. It's
- 5:58just me in here. Shut up. That was a joke. There's
- 6:01nobody over there. I try to make sure the content
- 6:03that I'm making is worth your time, and I also
- 6:05am trying to make sure that I'm not beholden
- 6:06to sponsors and corporate ads and stuff, so that
- 6:09I can remain journalistically... Honest. And
- 6:14integral. I need integrity. And so I turned to
- 6:17my community for support. And if you want to
- 6:19help keep this show free, there's a bunch of
- 6:21ways that you can actually help that don't necessarily
- 6:23involve money, but also that definitely does
- 6:26help. If you want to directly support me, I have
- 6:28a Patreon, a Ko -Fi. You can also subscribe on
- 6:30YouTube. There's also the option to subscribe
- 6:32for a paid tier at SKH .News. The newsletter
- 6:35is free, but if you want to chip in, you can
- 6:37do so. I have a merch store. You can get yourself
- 6:39some merch. I'm wearing a merch right now. It's...
- 6:43It's got stuff, and also there's gonna be a new
- 6:44design up in like a couple of months, so be on
- 6:48the lookout for that too. But outside of like
- 6:50monetary support, just liking, subscribing, sharing
- 6:53this content around, telling a friend who you
- 6:54think might like it, that really, really, really
- 6:57helps. So thank you for being here. We're gonna
- 6:59move on now. Great, great job me. A content warning
- 7:03for this next section, I'm going to be discussing
- 7:05mass death and child death. This is not gonna
- 7:08be graphic. I will not be showing wounded people
- 7:10or anything, but it's gonna be rough. The United
- 7:13Nations commissioned a fact -finding mission
- 7:15that dug into Iran and the U .S. and Israel with
- 7:19just everything that's been going on this year.
- 7:21The fact -finding mission was targeting a handful
- 7:23of major events. First off, the brutal crackdown
- 7:27from the Iranian government when there were protests
- 7:29earlier in January and late 2025. They also dug
- 7:32into some of the horrific opening strikes from
- 7:35the U .S. on Iran, the strike that blew up a
- 7:38girls' school and also blew up a sports center.
- 7:41The questions that they were looking to answer
- 7:42were essentially what actually happened, how
- 7:44many people actually got hurt, and did this constitute
- 7:48crimes against humanity or war crimes. Spoiler
- 7:50alert! Yeah. I read through the report. It's
- 7:53also linked in today's newsletter. It's not super
- 7:55long if you want to get more information, but
- 7:57here's a general summary of their findings. Some
- 8:00of this we already knew, some of it we could
- 8:02probably surmise, and some of it is actually
- 8:04new, but here we go. We'll start with Iran. So
- 8:07in late 2025, there were mass protests in Iran
- 8:11across the entire country. And they really came
- 8:13to a head in early January 2026. Around January
- 8:178th, the government turned off access to the
- 8:19Internet for their people and for people outside
- 8:21of Iran. And so we just got no idea what was
- 8:25going on in there. Leading up to that point,
- 8:27Iranian security forces were using live ammunition
- 8:29on mostly peaceful protesters across the nation.
- 8:32And apparently, after they cut off Internet access,
- 8:35that skyrocketed. According to the report, state
- 8:38forces were firing tear gas and then shotgun
- 8:41rounds into protestor crowds. There were people
- 8:43mounted on buildings with automatic rifles. This
- 8:46caused thousands of people to rush to hospitals.
- 8:49There were doctors reporting people coming in
- 8:51with shrapnel wounds, a lot of people with shrapnel
- 8:54wounds in their eyes, and many people fully losing
- 8:57sight. Security forces then rushed hospitals
- 8:59and they were looking for people who had injuries
- 9:01that would indicate that they were maybe a protestor
- 9:03to detain them. And this also caused people to
- 9:06avoid going to hospitals to get life -saving
- 9:09treatment. Some medical workers talked about
- 9:11treating patients without creating a paper trail
- 9:13to help stop the security forces from taking.
- 9:15As far as the death and injury counts, it's pretty
- 9:18muddy. Although the fact -finding mission was
- 9:20talking to governments and on -the -ground eyewitness
- 9:23accounts and third -party investigations, they
- 9:27couldn't get to a final answer about really how
- 9:30many people were killed and how many people were
- 9:32injured. There were headlines that were saying
- 9:34like tens of thousands of casualties. We don't
- 9:37really know. The Iranian government themselves
- 9:39did say multiple thousands of deaths and even
- 9:42more wounded, but the fact -finding mission still
- 9:45believes the number to be far higher than that.
- 9:47The UN mission also reached out to the Iranian
- 9:49government, and while the government did respond
- 9:51on a few things, they mostly got stonewalled.
- 9:53Ultimately, the UN investigation holds that the
- 9:55Islamic Republic of Iran did commit crimes against
- 9:58humanity. by way of gross violation of human
- 10:01rights. But how about the United States of America?
- 10:04Free country, USA. Land of the free, home of...
- 10:08We bombed a fucking school full of children.
- 10:11A bit over a month later, the US and Israel launched
- 10:14a war on Iran, seemingly because Benjamin Netanyahu
- 10:18wanted to, and because people in Trump's cabinet
- 10:20want to launch a holy war. And so we did that,
- 10:23and in our opening salvo, we launched multiple
- 10:26Tomahawk missiles. added a primary school in
- 10:29Iran. So here's what the fact -finding mission
- 10:32found. The primary school in question was near
- 10:35an Iranian military base. It used to be a part
- 10:38of that base, it was separated off from it, and
- 10:40at time of bombing, satellite imagery clearly
- 10:44showed that it was a separate facility with its
- 10:46own walls around it and a separate entrance from
- 10:48the main road. Also, photos from before the strike
- 10:51show it as an operational school. It had school
- 10:54furnishings and playgrounds and murals that are
- 10:57nice for children. Per the review of the satellite
- 11:00imagery and eyewitness accounts, one missile
- 11:02hit the bottom floor of the school, which prompted
- 11:04the surviving staff to usher students upstairs
- 11:07into the prayer room, which was then struck by
- 11:09another missile. Weapons analysts identified
- 11:11the missile as a U .S. Tomahawk missile, which
- 11:13is a missile that only the U .S. has in this
- 11:16whole engagement. Right after this happened,
- 11:19there was a whole bunch of rhetoric going around.
- 11:20One of the prominent ones was, well, they shouldn't
- 11:23have had a school in a military complex. They're
- 11:25using they're using children as human shields.
- 11:29To which I would like to remind you that the
- 11:32Department of quote unquote war has schools in
- 11:35military bases all across the world, hundreds
- 11:38of them. I guess all of our students in the military
- 11:41are human shields. An investigation was opened
- 11:43up into what the fuck happened because, obviously,
- 11:47but also, we shouldn't really expect anything
- 11:49to come of that. We did get reporting from the
- 11:51New York Times that the preliminary investigation
- 11:54said that there was, like, a bad bit of intel
- 11:57that caused this to happen. Like, we were working
- 11:59on outdated information, is what they were saying.
- 12:01Like, we thought that that was still part of
- 12:03the military complex, so we blew it up. Without
- 12:06checking. Other versions of the story from people
- 12:08who are involved in the investigation talk about
- 12:10basically going for the strike without really
- 12:14having all the information, just knowing that
- 12:15there was someone generally in that area they
- 12:18wanted to kill and just go for it. Which would
- 12:21track, like, we're still bombing boats in the
- 12:25Caribbean. As of now, it is pretty universally
- 12:28agreed that the U .S. did this, right? It's just
- 12:31we're arguing about whether or not it was intentional.
- 12:34But that doesn't change the fact that we did
- 12:35it. And we didn't stop there. Later that day,
- 12:38there was another attack on more civilian infrastructure.
- 12:41We launched multiple precision strike missiles
- 12:44at a sports center. These missiles are US only,
- 12:48and what they do is they target a location above
- 12:51the target, and then they blow up and release
- 12:54hundreds of thousands of tungsten shards. Tungsten
- 12:58is heavy. You don't generally want tungsten that
- 13:02came from an explosion above you to hit you.
- 13:05The target of this strike was an area that had
- 13:07primarily a sports complex, just like, you know,
- 13:10a place to go play some sports, and a residential
- 13:12neighborhood. 22 people were killed from this
- 13:15strike, most of whom were just people in that
- 13:17neighborhood. After this happened, and again,
- 13:20like, what the fuck? Everybody's looking around
- 13:22trying to figure out how could this be so bad
- 13:25so fast? The US was like, no, that wasn't us.
- 13:29Oh, but we did use a precision missile strike.
- 13:32But not that. That wasn't, don't worry, don't,
- 13:35no, it wasn't that one. We did use it. You should
- 13:37be proud of us, but not... Don't make me reconcile
- 13:42this. And so, with all of that bullshit, the
- 13:44ultimate finding from the UN fact -finding mission
- 13:47is that the US, at best, was extremely grossly
- 13:51negligent in targeting random civilian infrastructure
- 13:55as a part of indiscriminate strikes, which is
- 13:58a war crime. And so, yeah, the UN did some fact
- 14:01-finding and found that Iran and the US did some
- 14:04war crimes. If only that mattered. All right.
- 14:07All right. We're going to cool down a bit with
- 14:09just a weird little science thing. And frankly,
- 14:12I don't fully understand this one, but I'm going
- 14:15to talk about a weird little science thing. Let
- 14:17me introduce you to my boy Spyro. Full name is
- 14:22Spyro Stomum Ambigam. Spyro is a single -celled
- 14:27organism that lives underwater and it has a neat
- 14:29party trick. It can basically instantaneously
- 14:33shrink down 25 % of its size faster than we can
- 14:36even perceive it, faster than a blink, and we
- 14:38didn't know how it worked until recently. Scientists
- 14:41did some microscope stuff that is way over my
- 14:44head and they found out that this little dude
- 14:47has like a fishnet of proteins that it wraps
- 14:50around itself and just kind of squishes itself
- 14:53in like sort of like a corset. but for a single
- 14:56cellular organism. And that happens in like five
- 14:59milliseconds, which is fast. So Spyro's just
- 15:04kind of going around being like boop boop boop
- 15:05boop just kind of popping around doing its own
- 15:08thing. And that's cool. We're really happy for
- 15:10Spyro. But the interesting thing here is we can
- 15:12learn from this. See, scientists are whack and
- 15:15they're able to do stuff like bioengineering
- 15:17and like this can help us with that. This functions
- 15:20faster than like human muscle tissue can. So
- 15:23it could help with like I don't know, biorobotics
- 15:27or prosthetics? Maybe we'll have like an exoskeleton
- 15:31at some point? Let's all get real small. That
- 15:35would probably actually just crush us to death,
- 15:36wouldn't it? Uh, lightning around. The White
- 15:38House revoked press credentials for multiple
- 15:41news outlets and then launched Trump TV, a 24
- 15:44-hour YouTube stream of something. I want to
- 15:48note that multiple news outlets have now banded
- 15:50together and are saying, hey, that's fucking
- 15:51stupid. Stop doing that. The NOAA says that El
- 15:55Nino is getting real strong. And is probably
- 15:58going to keep getting stronger. A strong El Nino.
- 16:02An airline passenger who was so rowdy on his
- 16:05flight that he had to be duct taped to his seat
- 16:07now says he has no memory of the incident. I
- 16:10don't think I would either. Discord is now doing
- 16:12their age verification system that's going to
- 16:14use AI to analyze your account and try to figure
- 16:17out if you're an adult or not. I don't like the
- 16:20future. And finally for today, Pete Hegseth is
- 16:23reinstating mandatory testosterone screenings
- 16:25for men in the military. Which is really fucking
- 16:29weird, my guy. Thank you so much for listening
- 16:31to today's episode of Stuff Keeps Happening.
- 16:33Head to SKH .News for sources, bonus content,
- 16:36and the results of my testosterone testing. My
- 16:39name is Endeavorance, we'll talk again soon,
- 16:41take care, and be well.
