- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Texanville Jaguars fans welcome into Duval daily presented by Jinjag.com and fueled by brass tax coffee right now we are talking Jacksonville Jaguars receiving targets and I'm kind of doing a little bit of like a revised did this a month ago or so revised kind of update on my expectations for the Jaguars and their
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: receiving weapons.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Not including running backs, just wide receivers and tight ends, kind of like my expectations for them within this offense.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: You can look at this from a fantasy perspective as well.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about that.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's slightly been impacted by what I've seen in training camp.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: So far, I'm not going to lie to you about that.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: But it's mostly just what we've heard from the team, what we've seen from these players in the past, my expectations moving forward, roles within the team, that sort of stuff.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to get into it.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: can also hit that high button.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: So, getting into the Jaguar's wide receivers.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm over on the football guys website.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: They have average draft position combined between like 10 different sources.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, PN, Yahoo, all draft, also it's a CBS.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: Also, I mean, underdog really looks like it's more like 15 different sources, so they have compiled the average draft position of these players.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I don't know what platform you use.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: I only have one fantasy football league.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's my home league.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: I used to do a bunch of them, but now I just do one ESPN like that's all I do.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't feel like it bogged down with it too much, but I do still enjoy it.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: I
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: The league mates and friends and all that stuff, but it's just doing three, four, five leagues was just too much for me.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: But getting into these jackwares wide receivers, Brian Thomas Jr. is currently 67 ADP.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington is 69 ADP.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: Nice.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: You have Jacobi Myers at,
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: 109 so pretty significant drop off between BTJ Parker Washington and then Jacobie Myers.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: You have Britain's strange at 143 and then Travis Hunter at 154 so yeah obviously if you're talking about BTJ or Parker Washington it's basically the same range, 67 or 69 and I think
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: I do have Parker Washington with more usage than Brian Thomas Jr. this year.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think he will be the Jaguar's most targeted receiver.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think he will catch the most passes for the Jaguar's.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: The reason I believe that is because
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: He has really good connection in chemistry with Trevor Lawrence.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: He, I think has the most diverse skill set of the Jack Wars receiving targets.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think he can line up inside.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: He can line up outside.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: He can win as a route runner.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: He can win as a ball carrier, you know, yak guy.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: He can win as a contested catch threat as well.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I just think when you look at his skill set, it's the most complete.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: also think as of this moment he has the most to play for like this is a guy going into a contract year he does not have a new contract yet maybe that will happen before the start of the regular season I predicted it would and I hope it will think he deserves it but
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington, to me, will be the Jaguar's leading target getter and leading receiver, just again, based on the fact that he has the most complete skill set.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: He can be used at all three levels of the field, he can be used inside, outside, he can be used in a variety of different ways.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Just like weaponized as a downfield threat as a middle of the field route runner as a contested catch guy as a screen guy short catch Yak guy all these different things Parker Washington can do for you
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to lead to Trevor Lawrence in this offense targeting him the most.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what was happening at the end of the year last year as well.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's part of it, but you've also seen that in training camp.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen him being, I think the Jaguar's most effective weapon in training camp so far.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, Parker Washington for me is who I would target over Brian Thomas Jr. and in the range that they're going,
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's totally fair to target Parker.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's going to end up with 80 plus catches, probably over 11, 50 in terms of yards.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think somewhere in the seven to 10 touchdown range, I think Parker Washington's going to have a huge season for the Jaguars.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I think BTJ is going to have a very big year too.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: The reason I have Parker ahead of BTJ is because BTJ is not as versatile.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: at least not yet.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: He could become just as versatile.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you saw a lot of it during his rookie year.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: You just had that regression last year and now it's like you somewhere in between or you closer to the rookie year.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: Well, right now during training camp, Brian Thomas Jr. is having the most consistent training camp he has had for the Jaguars.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: But there's a lot of mouth defeats.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about it.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington, Brian Thomas, Jr. Jacob, Myers, Travis Hunter, Britain Strange, other anti-Slavery pieces.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: But I think BTJ is gonna have a season where he probably averages like 16 plus yards per catch.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's gonna be a high average depth of target.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's gonna make some plays down the field, not only on the vertical plane, but also over the middle, deep crossers, deep over things of that nature, posts,
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I will say a big part of his game and his fantasy potential is the deep ball.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like the true deep ball, 30 plus yards down the field, and to this point, that connection has been inconsistent for Trevor Lawrence on BTJ.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen it a little bit more this year than you were able to see it in years past during training camp, but you've seen Brian Thomas Jr. more versatile.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: not just the true deep ball, but you know, in the 15 to 25 yard range, B.T.J.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: has done a lot of work so far.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that he will, look, I think Parker Washington, Brian Thomas Jr. to Kobe Myers, are all going to be within like 10 to 15 percent in terms of like usage, target rate, like they're all going to be fairly close.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not going to be, but I think
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington, again, his versatile skill set and consistency is going to be the leading target getter.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think BTJ and Jacobi Myers will be very close in the amount of targets they get in this offense and close in the amount of catches that they get.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that BTJ's average depth of target, his usage, is just going to lend to a lot more yards and potentially more touchdowns for Brian Thomas Jr. than Jacobi Myers.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I do think Parker Washington and BTJ should be a good bit higher than Jacobi, and I would be fine with drafting them in the range that they're currently going.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Really what I think this is going to be a highly explosive passing offense Trevor Lawrence quarterback Liam Cohen great offensive play caller really good staff around good pieces all around so yeah I think they're going to be a highly explosive offense.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think BT jam Parker Washington can both absolutely ball out But this isn't nothing.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: This is you know fifth six round of your fantasy draft depending on how many picks there are I mean
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: If you've got 12 teams, which I think is pretty standard, I mean, yeah, you're talking about fifth round picks here.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're in a league with a bunch of Jaguar fans, maybe they go even earlier, or maybe, honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if you're in a league with Jags fans if Parker Washington goes significantly higher than BTJ.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's just a lot better higher sentiment on Parker Washington than Brian Thomas Jr. right now.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I would be fine with either of them.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to Jacobi Myers, he's at 109.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Why does he refer 47?
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has a very good chance of just like being in that range or exceeding that range a little bit.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: He's never been a high average depth of target guy.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: I do think he's gonna get targeted a lot.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's gonna have a good amount of catches.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's just not gonna have the yards and the touchdowns that the other two are able to get because he has more of a possession receiver.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Move the chains, keep things going, keep drives alive.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: That type of player, in my opinion.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not to say he can't win explosively down the field at times.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: We saw that a little bit last year, but his bread and butter is keeping the chains moving.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: And so I just don't know that there's upside there.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: That much upside.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's going in the same range as Patrick Mahomes.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: No, we're supposed to be focusing on receivers here.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, there's some guys around Jacobi Myers that I would rather be drafting in that range than Jacobi.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I know George Kittle has the injury situation, but if you're talking upside, right?
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: There's just other guys I like more.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think Matthew Golden has more upside.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think Dalton can Kate has more upside.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: Those guys are going after him.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: So there's just some different considerations I would have there, but I think in terms of the Jaguars
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: You're talking about a guy who's winning a lot on in-breaking routes that are in the short intermediate area of the field, keeping the Jaguars on schedule, keeping the Jaguars offense on the field, third downs, specifically I think he could potentially be the biggest third down target getter for the Jaguars.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: If not Parker Washington, then Jacobi Myers.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I think he's going to be a very valuable member of the Jaguar's offense.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think he's really going to have an opportunity probably to put up crazy numbers when it comes to fantasy.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: That would surprise me a good bit.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: Up next, you have, let's see here, Britain strange out 143.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's another player who
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's too many mouths to feed for him to be like this super fantasy relevant tie-dend.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Is it worth that upside pick he's at 143 overall, maybe?
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't drafted a tie-dend maybe, I personally wouldn't want to be going with that strategy, but in terms of impact on the offense as a receiver.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: it's going to be really cool to see Britain strange healthy and again the Jaguar's offense was just so much better passing the ball and running the ball last year when he was healthy there were 11 and 1 in games that he played and he did miss a couple of games against a couple of the best teams they played the Rams and the C-Ox but that's not either here nor there moving forward he was still just such a great impact for the Jaguars and he had some explosives.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: play to his receiving game.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: He was able to win outside the numbers, inside the numbers, down the seam, down the sideline.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: You get him the ball with a little bit of space and he's really able to run through defenders, stiff arm defenders, run away from some guys at certain levels of the field a little bit.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: So Britain's strange, I'm excited to see him.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be an integral part of the Jaguar's passing attack.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: But again, from a fantasy perspective, it is just a little bit harder to see the path here for a huge year, unless he just scores a bunch of touchdowns in the red zone.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: But the problem there, too, I think is again, the Jaguar will be spreading it out.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's gonna be some tight ends in this room that are eating up some touchdowns unfortunately for him.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think he'll probably lead the Jaguar's tight ends in touchdowns, but I think Nate Borger-Turbo score a couple times at least.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think Tanner Kozio will score a couple times at least and that makes it difficult, right?
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: Britain's strange is not the only mouth to feed for the jaguars receivers or their tight ends.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have Travis Hunter, who it's funny here on the ADP over on football guys, listed as CB1 in the position that he's in, which is very funny.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, again, so many mouths to feed, he's at 154 overall on the consensus board.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: Is it worth a final round swing?
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, probably.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Is it probably not gonna work out?
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: I would say, that's why he's available so late.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: I would say it probably will not work out that he's a huge fantasy impact this year because he's not, unless you're in some sort of like very uniquely, he's not getting points for interceptions or passes defended or tackles or sacks or anything like that.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: Unless you're doing like a defensively great, IDP league, whatever, but,
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: I do think he's going to have a very solid impact on an explosive impact on the Jaguar as passing offense, but I think his target share is going to be probably fourth or fifth on the Jaguar's offense, and that just makes it difficult for a real breakout, a real huge year.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: But there is also the possibility that there's an injury at the receiver position
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: that Travis Hunter just becomes undeniable, that they have to get him on the field more.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Jarian Jones is playing great football at corner, and you have Buster Brown, and you have Jordan Lewis, and there's an injury at receiver.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then Travis Hunter, all of a sudden, becomes insanely fantasy relevant.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's on the field a lot, and because he's on the field a lot, the Jaguar's target, and a lot, because he's just such an insane talent.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: So there is a path for it to happen.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's the most likely path, but is it worth a very risky late round swing?
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I could see that.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's more likely than not to not work out, which is why it's a late round swing.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: But it could work and be just a league-changing type of move, honestly.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's where I'm at.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the Jaguars have a great group of receivers.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Liam Cohen is one of the best offensive coaches in football, play calling, and just scheme structure, teaching, great staff, great group of talent.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: Really good quarterback.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is going to be a lot of fun to watch with these Jaguars wide receivers.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a great one.
