  Speaker 3: day pretty much, and I always listen to your words

  Speaker 3: of encouragement after the show. I want to know what

  Speaker 3: makes you the expert to feel like you can say

  Speaker 3: these words of encouragement to people. Are these things that

  Speaker 3: you've been through? Are do you think that your family

  Speaker 3: has been through? You know, give me a little insight

  Speaker 3: why you say the words of encouragement that you do

  Speaker 3: so okay, you'll tell me I love them.

  Speaker 2: You know, after I heard that, I was kind of

  Speaker 2: a little set back, but not really even how I

  Speaker 2: handled it earlier. But after giving this some thought, listening

  Speaker 2: to her for the second time, I think, really what
• 1:26
  Speaker 2: she's looking for is just some insight. I think she's
• 1:29
  Speaker 2: a fan of the show. And then she even said

  Speaker 2: and then I miss this. I listened to your clothing

  Speaker 2: remarks every day, and I think she's just trying to

  Speaker 2: find out really where it's coming from and what's the

  Speaker 2: basis behind it. So let me share it with you

  Speaker 2: what I think has happened to me. I didn't always
• 1:49
  Speaker 2: agree with the life God was giving me. I didn't
• 1:53
  Speaker 2: always agree with the hand that I was dealt. I
• 1:56
  Speaker 2: thought at times it was a bit excessive. I thought
• 2:00
  Speaker 2: that getting the marriage is wrong was a mistake, mostly
• 2:03
  Speaker 2: on my part, but I thought he could have stepped in.

  Speaker 2: But then I learned that I didn't ask him to
• 2:10
  Speaker 2: step in. I thought that living in the car for
• 2:13
  Speaker 2: three years was a bit excessive, but I needed that time.

  Speaker 2: As I look back on my life to discover some
• 2:21
  Speaker 2: things about me. I didn't understand growing up in poverty.
• 2:25
  Speaker 2: I didn't understand that my entire career, I've been questioned
• 2:30
  Speaker 2: at every level. I didn't understand why I've had to
• 2:34
  Speaker 2: do more in my career than some of my counterparts
• 2:37
  Speaker 2: who aren't black, and I had to excel in ways
• 2:40
  Speaker 2: to even get a fraction of the pay that they get.
• 2:43
  Speaker 2: I didn't get it. But I do now. I understand
• 2:47
  Speaker 2: completely what has happened to me. And it's a realization
• 2:51
  Speaker 2: that has helped me because along the way, I had
• 2:55
  Speaker 2: to learn that my career was what I was paid for,
• 2:59
  Speaker 2: that my call, and it's what I was made for.

  Speaker 2: All those things that I didn't have an understanding of
• 3:04
  Speaker 2: that God was doing for me. He was making me.

  Speaker 2: I didn't know it. He was shaping me, he was
• 3:12
  Speaker 2: molding me. He was preparing me for a day when
• 3:17
  Speaker 2: I could honor him in my opening remarks of my show,
• 3:22
  Speaker 2: in my closing remarks of the show, where I could
• 3:25
  Speaker 2: bad witness to his goodness, his grace in my life,
• 3:29
  Speaker 2: his mercy in my life, his forgiveness in my life.
• 3:33
  Speaker 2: All the times I remember my mama's teaching to me
• 3:36
  Speaker 2: as a Sunday school teacher for forty years, I remember
• 3:40
  Speaker 2: all those messages keep coming back and I've learned these
• 3:43
  Speaker 2: lessons over and over and over again, and I learned
• 3:46
  Speaker 2: them through experience, through trial and error. So to answer
• 3:50
  Speaker 2: your question, Yeah, that's exactly why I feel like I'm
• 3:54
  Speaker 2: able to share these things because I've been through almost
• 3:58
  Speaker 2: everything that I talk about. I had a full run, man,
• 4:02
  Speaker 2: I really have. My sixty five years has been packed, crowded,
• 4:08
  Speaker 2: jam chocked full of experiences, to the point where I
• 4:14
  Speaker 2: decided that instead of at the end of the day
• 4:18
  Speaker 2: just joking my way out every night, that I would
• 4:20
  Speaker 2: share with somebody who might be going through some similar
• 4:23
  Speaker 2: trials and challenges that I've gone through and just give
• 4:27
  Speaker 2: them some antidotes, some scriptures, some measures, some principles that
• 4:31
  Speaker 2: I've learned over the years that has helped and aided
• 4:34
  Speaker 2: me through some of the difficult times of my life
• 4:37
  Speaker 2: because I've been through what most people go through.
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: Nah.

  Speaker 2: I had a two parent family home, so I don't
• 4:44
  Speaker 2: know what it is not to have a father, But
• 4:47
  Speaker 2: I've been around enough people that don't have fathers to
• 4:50
  Speaker 2: realize that, hey, man, that's got to be hard. Because
• 4:53
  Speaker 2: if I didn't have my daddy and I was looking
• 4:55
  Speaker 2: at him in that casket at forty three, and I
• 4:57
  Speaker 2: was sitting up here realizing there's no way I would
• 5:00
  Speaker 2: have been who I was it wasn't for that man
• 5:02
  Speaker 2: right there. That experience right there caused me to start
• 5:05
  Speaker 2: the foundation to help single mothers raise their boys without
• 5:10
  Speaker 2: the aid of a father in the house. That tragedy
• 5:13
  Speaker 2: in my life, I turned it into a purpose all
• 5:18
  Speaker 2: my life. I can point to you all this stuff
• 5:21
  Speaker 2: and the only reason you can come to this conclusion
• 5:24
  Speaker 2: that I've come to that you've got to open yourself

  Speaker 2: up to the will of God. You got to really

  Speaker 2: talk to God about your purpose. Because I've often said this,

  Speaker 2: the two most important days of your life is the

  Speaker 2: day you born and the day you discover why. I

  Speaker 2: had enough sense and wisdom to ask God, why, why

  Speaker 2: Lord did you make me? Why did you cause me

  Speaker 2: to go through this? Why have you allowed me to
• 5:50
  Speaker 2: reach the heights side reach? And he slowly started turning
• 5:53
  Speaker 2: the page. Is to say, because I made you for this,

  Speaker 2: I want you to turn around. I want you to

  Speaker 2: share this information. I want you to teach this to people.
