- 0:00The well known actress Shirley MacLaine described in her book
- 0:04Out on a Limb and included in the film version under the same
- 0:08name, her experiences with various psychic mediums who were
- 0:13able to actually relate to her details from her life that were
- 0:18not possibly known by them. She began from a sceptical
- 0:22mindset, normal for the modern Western mentality, but soon
- 0:27became aware that there were indeed individuals who could
- 0:31sense, experience and describe events in her life that had not
- 0:36been publicized and which were private occurrences in nature.
- 0:42They proved to her sceptical mindset their bona fides.
- 0:47Many people have had such experiences one way or another,
- 0:51which they, however, failed to understand, appreciate, or value
- 0:56for their real significance. One individual reported having
- 1:00seen several people in a dream state that he would years later
- 1:05meet in the physical world. He recognized them, understood
- 1:09by that experience the role they would play in his life, and in
- 1:14fact, the limits that that role would have and the time of
- 1:18separation. When that role was completed, he
- 1:22navigated through certain decisions.
- 1:24Based on this knowledge, certain law enforcement agencies have
- 1:30consulted psychics with mixed results.
- 1:33In some cases, the psychics were able to provide information and
- 1:37clues that helped solve the case with facts that were otherwise
- 1:42unknown to the police at the time.
- 1:45In other cases, the agencies determined that the information
- 1:49was accurate but too general to be of specific benefit, and in
- 1:55some other cases reviewed there was little if any benefit.
- 1:59It is clear that not all psychics are of equal caliber
- 2:03and capability in these matters, and that not all circumstances
- 2:07can be equally amenable to psychic view of the matter.
- 2:11But it is clear that between reviews done by certain US
- 2:15agencies, including the Department of Justice, DOJCIA,
- 2:21the FBI and various local law enforcement agencies, the
- 2:26activity of qualified and competent psychics has indeed
- 2:31proven to be valuable and extremely useful in solving
- 2:35cases, Sri Orwindo writes. Quote.
- 2:40The true and direct knowledge of vision of past, present and
- 2:43future begins with the opening of the psychical consciousness
- 2:48and the psychical faculties. The psychical consciousness is
- 2:52that of what is now often called the subliminal self.
- 2:56The subtle or dream self of Indian psychology and its range
- 3:00of potential knowledge almost infinite, includes a very large
- 3:05power and many forms of insight into both the possibilities and
- 3:11the definite actualities of past, present and future.
- 3:16Its first faculty, that which most readily attracts attention,
- 3:21is its power of seeing by the psychical sense, images of all
- 3:26things in time and space, as exercised by clairvoyance
- 3:31mediums and others. This is often, and indeed
- 3:35usually, the specialized faculty, limited, though often
- 3:39precise and accurate in action, and implies no development of
- 3:44the inner soul or the spiritual being or the higher
- 3:48intelligence. It is a door opened by chance or
- 3:52by an innate gift, or by some kind of pressure between the
- 3:56waking and the subliminal mind, and admitting only to the
- 4:00surface or the outskirts of the latter.
- 4:04All things in a certain power and action of the secret
- 4:07universal mind are represented by images, not only visual, but
- 4:12if one may use the phrase, auditory and other images, and a
- 4:18certain development of the subtle or psychical senses makes
- 4:21it possible. If there is no interference of
- 4:25the constructing mind and its imaginations.
- 4:28If, that is to say, artificial or falsifying mental images, do
- 4:33not intervene if the psychical sense is free, sincere, and
- 4:39passive to receive these representations or
- 4:43transcriptions with a perfect accuracy, and not so much
- 4:47predict as to see in its correct images the present beyond the
- 4:52range of the physical sense, the past and the future.
- 4:58The accuracy of this kind of seeing depends on its being
- 5:01confined to a statement of the thing seen, and the attempt to
- 5:05infer, interpret, or otherwise go beyond the visual knowledge
- 5:09may lead to much error, unless there is at the same time a
- 5:14strong psychical intuition, fine, subtle, and pure, or a
- 5:20high development of the luminous intuitive intelligence.
