- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush The Truth about Sorority Life with
- 0:04Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia Judice.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Fessler.
- 0:11Speaker 3: This is another episode of Dirty Rushian. This is a
- 0:14Speaker 3: big one. We have assembled so none of our hosts
- 0:17Speaker 3: are here. This is a hostless episode. This is a
- 0:21Speaker 3: team of sorority I always say sorority girls, but I
- 0:25Speaker 3: know people like to say sorority women. We are going
- 0:29Speaker 3: to because this is something I always get asked about
- 0:32Speaker 3: and people are shook to their core when you mention
- 0:37Speaker 3: singing at a sorority like it really throws people off.
- 0:42Speaker 3: They're really inquisitive about it, like, what do you mean singing?
- 0:48Speaker 3: What do you mean songs? What do you mean porch songs?
- 0:53Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 0:54Speaker 4: You know?
- 0:54Speaker 3: And now I think with social media, they're seeing all
- 0:56Speaker 3: the dances and all the sort of theat tricks of
- 1:00Speaker 3: sorority life. So we have a panel of women that
- 1:06Speaker 3: are going to tell you what the story is with
- 1:08Speaker 3: the songs, possibly even sing some, possibly even sing some. Okay,
- 1:13Speaker 3: so where to begin? Uh, let's start with our other producer.
- 1:18Speaker 3: We'll call you d Okay, what was your sorority Pi
- 1:23Speaker 3: PI PI Beta PI?
- 1:25Speaker 5: And you want me to sing my song because I
- 1:26Speaker 5: know that a Pi Beta.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Phi boom boom. Oh you know I think we have
- 1:33Speaker 3: a second pie Beta phi. Oh God, yeah, we'll call
- 1:39Speaker 3: you do W. I don't have any knowledge of any songs.
- 1:43Speaker 5: I mean to sing the two and see if they
- 1:45Speaker 5: jog your memory.
- 1:46Speaker 3: See what I want to know is if the two
- 1:48Speaker 3: pie Beta pies in this group have the same songs.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Let's begin, Okay, boom boom. I want to be a
- 1:57Speaker 5: pie Betafi boom boom and honey that I ain't no
- 2:00Speaker 5: boom boom.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I want to be a.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Pivot if I don't you don't you don't you boom boom.
- 2:04Speaker 5: I want to wear the wine in the blue boom
- 2:06Speaker 5: boom and wear that era too. Boom boom. I want
- 2:09Speaker 5: to be a pie bot if I don't cheo, don't
- 2:11Speaker 5: you don't you boom? Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And that is all I could do when I was
- 2:17Speaker 2: standing in the back on the front porch at cal
- 2:21Speaker 2: was just just do that. Yep. Knew not a single
- 2:25Speaker 2: word to a single song, and no one expected me to.
- 2:28Speaker 5: That was like our mein, like the first day of Rush.
- 2:31Speaker 5: You sang that like when the girls were first coming in.
- 2:33Speaker 5: That was the song you sang, and then there was
- 2:35Speaker 5: a prep song that was like take a little golden row,
- 2:41Speaker 5: take a little wine in bloom, take a little bit
- 2:43Speaker 5: of loyalty shining through, take a little bit of ringing
- 2:48Speaker 5: touched with.
- 2:49Speaker 6: Bliss, put it.
- 2:50Speaker 5: I'll together you have a pie five miss no no.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I might have been drunk by them if that was
- 2:57Speaker 2: like in the last day, I was the worsties.
- 3:06Speaker 3: What colors are you saying? Wine in blue baby blue wine?
- 3:11Speaker 7: Wine?
- 3:12Speaker 3: Is that in burgundy? Com yeah, but you were called
- 3:16Speaker 3: it wine wow yeah, okay, And that was so see
- 3:23Speaker 3: I want to be a pie Beta fy boom boom.
- 3:25Speaker 3: That's sort of your big one.
- 3:27Speaker 5: That was like day one of Rush. All the girls
- 3:29Speaker 5: are coming in, You're singing, you know, like don't you
- 3:32Speaker 5: want to be a pie Beta fi? Essentially, like that
- 3:34Speaker 5: was a big like and it's also like super fun
- 3:36Speaker 5: and catchy and like there's like snapping that goes along
- 3:39Speaker 5: with it.
- 3:39Speaker 3: So that was like day one, Like yeah, I sort
- 3:42Speaker 3: of remember a dance to boom boom and sort of
- 3:45Speaker 3: a clapping on the legs boom boom. Okay, So Kappa's
- 3:50Speaker 3: in the house. I know we've got three Kappas at
- 3:53Speaker 3: least me h and a any other kappas. All right,
- 3:58Speaker 3: so let's see. So I shall sing one and you
- 4:01Speaker 3: tell me if you know this and please join it
- 4:05Speaker 3: on the hardest what's the one.
- 4:09Speaker 6: Key that binds us? Wait?
- 4:12Speaker 4: Then a what does it do after that one key
- 4:15Speaker 4: that binds us that always reminds us of a fortuna
- 4:19Speaker 4: these days?
- 4:20Speaker 6: Oh god, what's the rest of it? Those are initiation
- 4:23Speaker 6: and those yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Hard knocking knocking there.
- 4:30Speaker 4: I did that.
- 4:31Speaker 6: I did the solo for that.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Okay, this tell us all about it. Tell us all
- 4:35Speaker 3: about it, solo, Like.
- 4:37Speaker 6: It's a solo. It's a solo.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Explain it.
- 4:41Speaker 4: So my really close friend was our ritual chair and
- 4:46Speaker 4: she was telling me before we did our like needing
- 4:49Speaker 4: to learn all of the songs that we have to
- 4:50Speaker 4: do for initiation, And she's like, there's a solo and
- 4:53Speaker 4: I know no one's gonna do it. Can you please
- 4:55Speaker 4: just do it? I was like, oh, all right, fine,
- 4:59Speaker 4: so early in the morning, and I'm like, it's it's
- 5:02Speaker 4: in a part where like people don't see you, so
- 5:05Speaker 4: like you can like read off a card and not
- 5:07Speaker 4: have to kid.
- 5:07Speaker 6: It's a lotch for remember, but it's just like a little.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Don't give the knockout. She's doing our secret knock, but
- 5:14Speaker 3: it's okay.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Sorry secret knock your friend.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Yes, then you go knocking, knocking, who's there? Waiting, waiting
- 5:22Speaker 4: cap affair, And it's kind of like a back and
- 5:24Speaker 4: forth thing.
- 5:25Speaker 3: But there's a better a you have a you're in
- 5:29Speaker 3: a better key. I went too high because ours was
- 5:31Speaker 3: very high when we did it. So basically, what I
- 5:34Speaker 3: can say is some people were on one side of
- 5:36Speaker 3: a door and some people were on another side of
- 5:39Speaker 3: a door, and the knock would happen and then it
- 5:42Speaker 3: would be like knocking, knocking, who is there? And then
- 5:47Speaker 3: the other half response waiting, waiting cap affair. So h, lady,
- 5:56Speaker 3: h do you know this song? Also? You are also
- 5:59Speaker 3: a cap I do.
- 6:01Speaker 7: I cannot tell you the words, and I do not
- 6:04Speaker 7: remember the solo. I felt like it was everybody on one.
- 6:07Speaker 6: Side the door singing and then everyone on the other side.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Yeah, what's the solo part?
- 6:10Speaker 6: I don't remember the solo part. We had like there
- 6:13Speaker 6: was one person that's saying.
- 6:16Speaker 4: The longer versus, and then the group would say like
- 6:22Speaker 4: the very short like knocking, knocking, who is there? I'm
- 6:25Speaker 4: pretty sure it was something where like the solo person
- 6:28Speaker 4: had a lot more verses that were pretty long, and
- 6:31Speaker 4: then you had to like go very back and forth,
- 6:34Speaker 4: and it was weird because like you'd have someone on
- 6:36Speaker 4: like the other side of the door and like everyone
- 6:38Speaker 4: it's like a call and response kind of thing. Yes,
- 6:41Speaker 4: And then it was really hard too, because when you
- 6:44Speaker 4: go to like learn them, they're like these old videos
- 6:48Speaker 4: that are like choir singers and they just sound so
- 6:52Speaker 4: good and that's probably why you guys sounded so much
- 6:54Speaker 4: higher pitch because they're like real singers doing it. And
- 6:57Speaker 4: then we're all just like a group of forty of
- 6:59Speaker 4: us that like can't speak the life of us.
- 7:02Speaker 6: And it's very like dead kind of sounding and sound. Course.
- 7:08Speaker 8: Yeah, well, and I remember, like you have to sing
- 7:11Speaker 8: loud enough for people to get.
- 7:13Speaker 6: Through the.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Okay, a couple other rush questions for the Kappas before
- 7:19Speaker 3: we move on to the fadas at all, Sweet Home,
- 7:24Speaker 3: cap A Gamma. Where our colors are blue and blue? Anyone?
- 7:29Speaker 5: No, your colors are blue and blue?
- 7:31Speaker 3: Where our colors are blue and blue, because we're blue
- 7:34Speaker 3: and blue, dark blue and light blue. Yeah, so a
- 7:38Speaker 3: that's talking right now. We were actually in the same
- 7:41Speaker 3: so already at the same school. So you guys don't
- 7:42Speaker 3: even do that one.
- 7:43Speaker 6: We don't do that one. We do like a home cap.
- 7:46Speaker 3: A gamma, give me any fun ones from Rush.
- 7:49Speaker 4: There was like okay, cage uh, I got my sisters
- 7:53Speaker 4: with me.
- 7:54Speaker 6: It was like a weird.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah yeah, cage I got all of us.
- 8:00Speaker 6: There was that one, and then that was like one
- 8:02Speaker 6: of our find sister songs.
- 8:04Speaker 3: And you do Kappa Kappa Gama the hottest house north
- 8:10Speaker 3: of Havana. He kapa. Oh you know it was funny
- 8:16Speaker 3: diama music and fashion something something and it's like you
- 8:21Speaker 3: rush from eight to four at every storty door. Your
- 8:25Speaker 3: feet are tired and they are sore until kapa no
- 8:29Speaker 3: nothing No.
- 8:46Speaker 4: There was a different thing this year with recruitment where
- 8:49Speaker 4: you technically weren't allowed to dance like you weren't allowed
- 8:51Speaker 4: to do like a performance at all. So they were
- 8:53Speaker 4: very strict on you had to simply only clap and
- 8:57Speaker 4: do like a very strict There was no like limited
- 9:02Speaker 4: r movements and we had to like redo a lot
- 9:05Speaker 4: of like art song, not a lot of a lot
- 9:08Speaker 4: of our songs, like the dances that we do with them,
- 9:10Speaker 4: and change it to simply just clapping, because why did.
- 9:13Speaker 3: They even when the doors are closed, they you can't dance.
- 9:17Speaker 6: You cannot dance, You can't dance in front of the
- 9:19Speaker 6: p and ms.
- 9:21Speaker 3: What okay? So madam Madam W and I went to
- 9:25Speaker 3: the same school, And what's interesting is when Madam W
- 9:29Speaker 3: was there, you could come out onto the porches, out
- 9:33Speaker 3: onto the street the main drag and sing on the porches.
- 9:38Speaker 3: When I went through Rush, you could still do that,
- 9:41Speaker 3: maybe even my sophomore year, but then they took that away.
- 9:44Speaker 3: So a, are you not allowed to sing on the
- 9:48Speaker 3: porches anymore?
- 9:49Speaker 6: Or not all on the porches?
- 9:50Speaker 3: You have to I remember eventually we had to wait
- 9:52Speaker 3: till the door was fully securely closed before you could
- 9:56Speaker 3: begin singing ours.
- 9:58Speaker 6: Yes, it was.
- 10:00Speaker 4: I know that what they do now is like they
- 10:02Speaker 4: kind of line everyone up very like in straight line,
- 10:06Speaker 4: as close as they can towards the door so that
- 10:08Speaker 4: they can see all of us on the inside because
- 10:12Speaker 4: we're not allowed to all be outside. And then as
- 10:15Speaker 4: soon as they're all leaving, like even if we're like halfway,
- 10:18Speaker 4: because they kind of you know, like the songs are short,
- 10:20Speaker 4: like you have to just do them like thirty times.
- 10:23Speaker 4: It does not matter if you just barely started the
- 10:26Speaker 4: first bit. This door has to be closed and then
- 10:29Speaker 4: you have to go through the full thing over again
- 10:31Speaker 4: to ensure that, like even because even when they're leaving,
- 10:33Speaker 4: they can still hear you, and it's super awkward if
- 10:36Speaker 4: like right when they lead, it just goes dead silent
- 10:39Speaker 4: and it's like talking. So they're very they were like
- 10:42Speaker 4: very drilled drilled it into us of like make sure
- 10:45Speaker 4: the door is closed, and you still have to finish
- 10:46Speaker 4: the verse or finish the song in order for it
- 10:49Speaker 4: to go.
- 10:50Speaker 3: A couple questions before we move on. Does anybody know
- 10:52Speaker 3: the reasoning behind no dancing in front of rushies as
- 10:56Speaker 3: we call them.
- 10:57Speaker 5: I'm assuming because of Bama rush and how like gnarly
- 11:00Speaker 5: just all the viralness of it.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I don't know taking that away, why are you not
- 11:04Speaker 3: allowed to dance?
- 11:06Speaker 4: I think it was just I I wasn't really one
- 11:09Speaker 4: hundred percent sure like the total rules of it either
- 11:12Speaker 4: in the moment.
- 11:12Speaker 6: I think it was just like.
- 11:15Speaker 4: It's all there was a lot of things of like
- 11:18Speaker 4: doing like dirty rushing in a sense where like you
- 11:21Speaker 4: don't want to be making if you like make eye
- 11:23Speaker 4: contact at someone or give them like a gesture Like
- 11:25Speaker 4: those things can be considered tree rushing because it's like
- 11:28Speaker 4: you directly interact with the P and M and it
- 11:31Speaker 4: makes it seem like you're acknowledging them and it's like
- 11:34Speaker 4: a hey like like because girls will leave these houses
- 11:37Speaker 4: and like create rumors of just like oh my god,
- 11:39Speaker 4: she like gave like a wink at me, so like
- 11:40Speaker 4: that means.
- 11:40Speaker 6: I'm gonna get and buy it back, Like no, no,
- 11:42Speaker 6: no, no no, that's all that works.
- 11:44Speaker 4: So I think that they're just trying to limit as
- 11:46Speaker 4: much as they can when it comes to like thinking
- 11:48Speaker 4: that girls had like an inn or think of like
- 11:50Speaker 4: signs that like girls that the girls could get out
- 11:52Speaker 4: to P and MS.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I just wanted to say, where is Kevin Bacon when
- 11:55Speaker 3: we need him? Let them dance? Moving onto the mother
- 12:01Speaker 3: daughter duo we have in this secret panel. We have
- 12:06Speaker 3: gathered together. Mom, what sorority were you?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Alpha Fi?
- 12:12Speaker 3: And daughter? What sorority were you?
- 12:15Speaker 1: I was in cap Alpha Theta.
- 12:16Speaker 3: And do you guys mind giving us a rendition of
- 12:18Speaker 3: any songs that you can remember, does not matter if
- 12:21Speaker 3: you have a good or not.
- 12:24Speaker 1: In theata, there were so many songs it was actually
- 12:27Speaker 1: unreal like every time we had Chapter, for example, we
- 12:30Speaker 1: had to say the pledge sing this song, and then
- 12:33Speaker 1: we would always have to sing a different song, and
- 12:35Speaker 1: then there'd usually be a ritual, and there'd be a
- 12:37Speaker 1: ritual songs. And there's one Rush one that I remember.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I don't really remember the ones that we did in Chapter,
- 12:45Speaker 1: but during Rush there's this one song because Theta is
- 12:49Speaker 1: kat cawp aalpha data, so they call them like the cats.
- 12:53Speaker 1: And so there's this song that just like replays in
- 12:56Speaker 1: my mind over and over because it's honestly so annoying.
- 13:00Speaker 1: It's like it's hip to be a cat, to be
- 13:02Speaker 1: a cat, to be a cacta.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Data theta and it just you just say.
- 13:07Speaker 1: That again, no originality, no other lyrics, and they just.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Hammer that song.
- 13:14Speaker 1: It gets ridiculous and it still goes new nightmares.
- 13:18Speaker 9: But the only song I can remember is one hundred
- 13:21Speaker 9: percent swear words because it was more like a It
- 13:24Speaker 9: was like an initiation song.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Sing it it's unspeakable.
- 13:31Speaker 9: Do you really want to hear it?
- 13:33Speaker 3: The resolutely need to hear it, and if necessary, we
- 13:36Speaker 3: can bleep, but we're this show is explicit, so bring it.
- 13:40Speaker 9: So we had to like we were in a house,
- 13:43Speaker 9: so we didn't have really sority houses. But we went
- 13:45Speaker 9: to a house to do some sort of initiation activity
- 13:49Speaker 9: and we had to maybe drink, but anyway, we had
- 13:53Speaker 9: to say this chant and it's like.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I'm nervous for you going.
- 13:58Speaker 9: I know, maybe this is like resort he does this.
- 14:00Speaker 9: I don't know, but we all I remember is we
- 14:03Speaker 9: would go ship. Damn motherfucker. Fuck shit.
- 14:05Speaker 10: Damn, some damn.
- 14:07Speaker 6: Bitch just stole my man.
- 14:09Speaker 9: I'll find another f better than the other f ship.
- 14:12Speaker 6: Damn motherfucker you are lying.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Oh my god, I.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Think that's the first time I ever go home. Course
- 14:20Speaker 1: in her LifeWay.
- 14:25Speaker 6: That's all that is.
- 14:27Speaker 3: That was iconic. I don't know because our like song
- 14:31Speaker 3: like that went like this. A Kappa and a Fiji
- 14:36Speaker 3: were woo and I declare down by the mill pond.
- 14:40Speaker 3: They didn't know I was there. And the Kappa she
- 14:42Speaker 3: was pretty, and the Fiji he was shy. It seems
- 14:45Speaker 3: a little tamer there.
- 14:47Speaker 6: Ye sweet, very sweet. This was not very sweet.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Wow, that that was We didn't have anything like that.
- 14:57Speaker 6: Yeah, it was rapt.
- 14:58Speaker 9: It was the older girls like hazing us, kind of
- 15:00Speaker 9: like making us.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Anyone else have dirty songs anyone.
- 15:05Speaker 8: I mean, it wasn't part of Rush, but everyone like
- 15:07Speaker 8: claimed Kappa's theme song was like Kapa back that ass up.
- 15:12Speaker 8: But I think a lot of people do that one.
- 15:31Speaker 3: So we also have producer e with us. What was
- 15:36Speaker 3: your sorority?
- 15:38Speaker 11: I was a Delta Gamma.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Also any DG songs that you could share with us.
- 15:43Speaker 11: I found my recruitment manual today.
- 15:46Speaker 3: It's amazing.
- 15:47Speaker 11: So I have all the songs in front of me.
- 15:49Speaker 11: I can sing you the short one.
- 15:52Speaker 12: Please give us a Gama sister hood eternally love boy,
- 16:00Speaker 12: love and caring, happily sharing anchors call me.
- 16:07Speaker 3: This might be the best episode of Dirty Rush yet, Like, seriously,
- 16:11Speaker 3: keep going, keep going.
- 16:12Speaker 6: No, that's it for me.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Please one more, please, one more?
- 16:16Speaker 11: Will you wear our anchor? Will you be the one
- 16:19Speaker 11: who will be our new sister? When morning has come?
- 16:23Speaker 11: Will you sail tomorrow on the Delta G to new
- 16:27Speaker 11: harbors of friendship that you have yet to see. Our
- 16:31Speaker 11: captain is calling. Soon you will be gone, but remember
- 16:35Speaker 11: that DG is where you belong. Will you wear our anchor?
- 16:39Speaker 11: Wear our pin with pride? Will you be our new sister?
- 16:42Speaker 11: You must decide, and we blow out our crumble.
- 16:47Speaker 3: That's amazing, guys. I don't think any of these lyrics
- 16:51Speaker 3: are gonna win Grammys, Like they're a little rough, like
- 16:54Speaker 3: it's not great, which was I'm a cap, but you're
- 16:58Speaker 3: a cap, But wouldn't you like to be a kapa?
- 17:01Speaker 3: To be a kapa?
- 17:02Speaker 5: Play?
- 17:04Speaker 3: That was sort of I think w where we were
- 17:08Speaker 3: right across from each other doing that at each other.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Yeah, our houses were partners, right mom marc duo?
- 17:14Speaker 3: Yes, so we pi Fi and Kappa at our school
- 17:17Speaker 3: was across the street from each other. We were all friends,
- 17:19Speaker 3: but we would have sing offs almost like it's perfect
- 17:24Speaker 3: going crazy, then the other's going crazy, then you go
- 17:27Speaker 3: loud or louder like. It must have been an absolute
- 17:30Speaker 3: for the neighborhood, like what is happening? It was great,
- 17:34Speaker 3: though I can't fight.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I wouldn't say that our dancing was that good. We
- 17:39Speaker 2: probably should have gotten banned from dancing.
- 17:41Speaker 3: But so let me ask you a question we had.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Do you guys know the song? And I'm totally this
- 17:46Speaker 3: is a big secret. I'm revealing that's fine. You know
- 17:50Speaker 3: the song word up? Does anyone in this group know
- 17:52Speaker 3: that song cameo?
- 17:54Speaker 2: Word up?
- 17:56Speaker 6: You guys?
- 17:56Speaker 3: Can someone look up? The lyrics. You guys know the
- 17:58Speaker 3: song was like two It was a smash hit in
- 18:02Speaker 3: the nineties. Yes, I know, m word up like the
- 18:09Speaker 3: word yeah, word World.
- 18:14Speaker 6: That was all that.
- 18:15Speaker 3: That was all pretty Ladies Around.
- 18:18Speaker 6: Oh yeah, that's right.
- 18:20Speaker 5: Ready a brand new day.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yeah no, that merged.
- 18:26Speaker 3: That was merging of two songs.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Well, do yourselves a favor and listen to Word Up
- 18:30Speaker 3: by Cameo. So we had a thing where and I'm
- 18:34Speaker 3: wondering from from the Kappa in the in the secret
- 18:38Speaker 3: panel here, every pledge class did an eight count. I
- 18:44Speaker 3: think I've told the story before. So you would do
- 18:46Speaker 3: an eight count, and then the next one would do
- 18:48Speaker 3: an eight count and it got passed down, down, down,
- 18:51Speaker 3: down down to create a dance to the whole song. Yes,
- 18:57Speaker 3: Pretty Ladies Around or do you know what I'm talking about?
- 19:01Speaker 3: Any other schools doing that?
- 19:02Speaker 7: I feel like we did that, but I not to
- 19:04Speaker 7: this specific song. But I do remember doing that, Yes.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Sort of like a dance.
- 19:11Speaker 7: It was almost like, yeah, you had like groups of
- 19:13Speaker 7: people that would be a different Yes, I don't know,
- 19:17Speaker 7: I don't remember the song we did it too, but
- 19:19Speaker 7: we did do that too.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Anybody else have any memories of singing good and bad
- 19:26Speaker 3: that they feel open to sharing. Before we go.
- 19:29Speaker 9: There was a good friend of mine for Rush got
- 19:35Speaker 9: the privilege of doing a solo.
- 19:36Speaker 3: As well, and she changed the words.
- 19:41Speaker 9: This was really good because this song was so hot
- 19:44Speaker 9: at the time. It was that song gotta be like
- 19:46Speaker 9: you gotta be bad. Yeah, she changed the words to
- 19:51Speaker 9: that song and just nailed it, and we had the
- 19:54Speaker 9: best Rush ever. Like we were known for her soul like.
- 19:57Speaker 3: She made it an alpha fe Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 9: She turned it into an alphaby song for Rush, and
- 20:02Speaker 9: it was just part of our back when you were
- 20:05Speaker 9: able to kind of do performative things. And it was
- 20:07Speaker 9: really really good. It was a hit, and anytime I
- 20:09Speaker 9: hear that song, I can always I don't remember the
- 20:12Speaker 9: words she changed it to, but it was it was fun.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Yeah, there's always sort of a couple of girls in
- 20:17Speaker 3: there that can really sing. That makes it pretty great. Wait,
- 20:22Speaker 3: secret question for the one that starts with an A.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Are you in Kappa Kapa Gamma right now?
- 20:31Speaker 4: No, because I know that would be so loud in
- 20:33Speaker 4: there and I wouldn't be able to get.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Because you're in a secret spot. Where are you?
- 20:38Speaker 6: I'm actually in my athletics right now?
- 20:40Speaker 3: Oh, you're like at school on the campus or campus.
- 20:44Speaker 6: Yes, yes, yes, oh cool.
- 20:46Speaker 4: Yes, since I'm active, we can't reveal any of the
- 20:50Speaker 4: knocking knocking stuff.
- 20:52Speaker 6: But other than that, other than that, I had a
- 20:54Speaker 6: great time with the songs this year. We had a time.
- 20:58Speaker 6: I love music chanting. I love chanting to do with
- 21:00Speaker 6: my teammates and showing it to them. They're so confused
- 21:02Speaker 6: every time they see it.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Oh when they see your KAPA songs.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Oh when they see like me chanting and they like,
- 21:08Speaker 4: don't see like me like sorority girl.
- 21:11Speaker 6: They're just like, what are you doing? Like yeah, they're
- 21:14Speaker 6: just so freaked out by.
- 21:15Speaker 3: A very befuddled by the singing lady W Madam W
- 21:20Speaker 3: whatever your name was. Did you guys do a song?
- 21:23Speaker 3: You're not gonna remember, but we'll ask you before Monday
- 21:26Speaker 3: night dinner. No, we did not.
- 21:31Speaker 2: We just think piled down and I really could make
- 21:34Speaker 2: the meeting, you know, the Monday meeting that was in
- 21:36Speaker 2: our chapter room, like and we got I got fined
- 21:40Speaker 2: all the time.
- 21:41Speaker 3: I feel like we had a song before dinner was served.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Anybody remember we do?
- 21:46Speaker 4: I Actually, I honestly don't remember it that well because
- 21:49Speaker 4: I wasn't there when we learned it. And it's honestly
- 21:51Speaker 4: kind of bum bump like sad when you don't learn
- 21:53Speaker 4: the songs, because then everyone's singing it and you're like,
- 21:56Speaker 4: what's happening?
- 21:57Speaker 10: Right?
- 21:58Speaker 6: We do have like a just like formal chapter. Could
- 22:01Speaker 6: just sing a.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Little of that and see if it comes back to
- 22:03Speaker 3: the others.
- 22:04Speaker 6: What I try to think of what it was and
- 22:06Speaker 6: I barely even know it. I think it's on the
- 22:11Speaker 6: heart of each sister.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Is that the one? That's what I think it is too.
- 22:14Speaker 6: I think it is.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Well, this has been quite enlightening. Everybody sing sing a song. Yes,
- 22:22Speaker 3: it is a whole thing with sororities. I would call
- 22:24Speaker 3: it like a major part of the sororities the songs.
- 22:28Speaker 8: Agreed and going into Rush, I had no idea of
- 22:30Speaker 8: the commitment of singing you were gonna happen?
- 22:33Speaker 12: So were you?
- 22:33Speaker 3: What did you think when you're like, uh, these people
- 22:36Speaker 3: are singing.
- 22:37Speaker 7: Day one of Rush was really overwhelming with all the
- 22:40Speaker 7: singing for me because I was not prepared for it.
- 22:43Speaker 7: And then you know what, you just join in and.
- 22:47Speaker 6: Part of the group.
- 22:49Speaker 2: It's the end.
- 22:50Speaker 6: It's hard on the stand in the back.
- 22:53Speaker 5: It's harder on the other end being the people that
- 22:55Speaker 5: have to sing songs.
- 22:57Speaker 3: You guys, I don't. I don't want to end on
- 23:00Speaker 3: a high note, but I will. I start looking up
- 23:04Speaker 3: Kappa songs because these days you can find them. All
- 23:06Speaker 3: won remembers this Hi Lo. Everywhere we go on Kappa Kappa,
- 23:10Speaker 3: we depend. We are Kappa Kappa Gama sisters till the end. Nobody. Yes, yes,
- 23:17Speaker 3: I want a whole iconic Yeah, it's.
- 23:20Speaker 2: A whole rap.
- 23:21Speaker 6: But now we have the famous TikTok Kapa rap.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Not like that.
- 23:25Speaker 4: It's on TikTok, the TikTok sound. It's like cute and intellectual.
- 23:29Speaker 4: These girls are exceptional and every way we dominate. So
- 23:32Speaker 4: Kapa is what I nominate. Want to be on top
- 23:35Speaker 4: like me, All you gotta do is go okay. It's
- 23:37Speaker 4: like a very funny like TikTok sound. It's not like
- 23:39Speaker 4: any like door chat or anything, but like blue up
- 23:42Speaker 4: on TikTok and like that's when like you know, when
- 23:45Speaker 4: like we do work week, there's like a theme where
- 23:48Speaker 4: like everyone dresses and like just all blue and like
- 23:51Speaker 4: in the weirdest blue costume stuff you can find, and
- 23:54Speaker 4: like you'll draw like blue on your face and wear
- 23:56Speaker 4: like a blue sweatshirt with like a blue bikini or
- 23:59Speaker 4: like I don't know, you just like look stupid. But
- 24:01Speaker 4: then you'll like use that sound and it's like this
- 24:03Speaker 4: whole it was like this whole Kappa TikTok era thing.
- 24:07Speaker 3: All new, all new. Uh dg over there anything else
- 24:12Speaker 3: you can share about the singing from your book?
- 24:15Speaker 11: Yeah? Do you want to close out on a song?
- 24:17Speaker 3: We would, We very much would.
- 24:20Speaker 10: Okay, I have found my dream girl. She's as sweet
- 24:25Speaker 10: as she can be. I have found the one I love.
- 24:28Speaker 10: She's all the world to me. She wears the golden
- 24:31Speaker 10: anchor and the bronze, the pink, the blue delta. Yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 10: I love you, and to you, I will be true.
- 24:37Speaker 10: College memories linger never fade nor disappear, anchored till eternity
- 24:42Speaker 10: with lasting love. So Dear, wherever I may wander, all
- 24:46Speaker 10: my thoughts will turn to the delta.
- 24:48Speaker 11: Gem I dream girl, you are the only one for me.
- 24:53Speaker 3: That was beautiful, really really well done. Thank you for
- 24:56Speaker 3: joining us on this episode of Dirty Rush. Don't worry,
