- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, today, we're talking about the gift of not giving up.
- 0:34So when you really want to make something happen, it takes
- 0:37persistence, it takes that tenacity of not giving up, it
- 0:42takes that ability to be able to say to yourself.
- 0:45You know what? I want this so badly.
- 0:47I'm willing to learn and willing, to grow.
- 0:49I'm willing to do something different than I've done in the
- 0:52past, in order to make it happen and part of the challenge, when
- 0:56you start off with any of this is especially if it's a new goal
- 1:00and try. Something new is that you have
- 1:02to allow yourself the grace to know that you're not going to be
- 1:07great at everything immediately and that's so hard for us as
- 1:11human beings because we want to be great at everything
- 1:14immediately. So we lose out on the factor of
- 1:17trying, to just be taking in the moments of the learning curve of
- 1:22this. And I always go back to thinking
- 1:25about. Well, I wonder how somebody like
- 1:27Leonardo DaVinci, who I absolutely love to read about
- 1:30Out and learn about because he was such a renaissance man, and
- 1:33he had so many different talents and skills.
- 1:35So the Brewster's very close right.
- 1:39Now, when you think about him there was not just one thing he
- 1:43was great at. He was great at multiple things
- 1:45and he was great at learning and taking in information and not
- 1:48being frustrated in the learning process.
- 1:51And and I think that that's where we in modern-day people
- 1:56Society have become. So jaded is we To be great at
- 2:01stuff right away, we want to figure out how many hours do I
- 2:03have to take to be great at something?
- 2:05And then I'm just going to get there and be great at it.
- 2:07And we don't want to take the time to cultivate our skills and
- 2:11get better over time with it. We just want to be able to be
- 2:14instantaneously great. And, and the problem with that
- 2:17is, it doesn't allow us the, the space and the, the, the just,
- 2:25the time, it takes to cultivate yourself and become better
- 2:30because in the The process of all that you learn more, you
- 2:32learn more and you develop more, and then, as you're learning,
- 2:36you change your approach. And that's so important.
- 2:38Like, you change your approach, to change your approach to try
- 2:40something different, you change your approach and before, you
- 2:43know it, you're exponentially further than you were in the
- 2:47process, but a lot of people don't want to do that anymore.
- 2:52And this time of the year, when you're like essentially going
- 2:55out and doing stuff, you're saying to yourself.
- 2:57Well, I just want to be, you know, good at it.
- 3:00I have a client, I'm working with and she started to go ahead
- 3:03and go to pottery classes because we talked about it and I
- 3:07was telling her how much I want to do it and she's like, okay, I
- 3:09found a place. I'm going to go do this, I think
- 3:10it'll be cool and after the first class she comes back and
- 3:13she says to me, you know what? This is really frustrating.
- 3:16This is really hard and I'm like, well, did you think it was
- 3:19going to be easy right away? And she was will look so easy on
- 3:21YouTube. I'm like, yes, it does.
- 3:23Look easy on YouTube but it's not easy.
- 3:25And that's part of the gift. And she's like, how is it hard,
- 3:28being hard, a gift. And I said, Because you have to
- 3:31change your approach, you have to have different, you know,
- 3:34patience with your hands and the skills that they have.
- 3:37You have to allow stuff. Just like my garden and the
- 3:39problems I have with my garden have taught me so much about
- 3:43cultivating, a different set of skills.
- 3:45Like when I grew in Rhode Island it was totally different than
- 3:49growing where we are now down south because it doesn't, it
- 3:53doesn't give you the same conditions in which to thrive
- 3:57and grow you have to be thinking differently of to try things.
- 4:00Only. So now I am going to be on my
- 4:02third year of growing a vegetable garden here and I have
- 4:06to take a completely different approach to it again because
- 4:09last year was disastrous for multiple reasons.
- 4:12The water too much water too much, just too much water way
- 4:17too much water, the amount of seeds that I purchased that
- 4:21we're not the right seeds for this area.
- 4:23Like they would grow but they would never give us fruit or
- 4:27vegetables so it all takes that. And that space.
- 4:31Now was I aggravated in the process?
- 4:33Yes. But for very short period of
- 4:36time because I said, kept saying to myself, okay, what can I
- 4:38learn from this? What can I learn from this?
- 4:41What can I learn from this? So that is the challenge for
- 4:44yourself. That is what you have to get to
- 4:46get to that place where you are, okay, with that.
- 4:49You are okay, not having it be perfect in the beginning.
- 4:52You are. Okay?
- 4:53With not knowing everything, you are, okay, with cultivating
- 4:57yourself and allowing yourself, especially, when you're learning
- 5:00new things, or trying to grow into your goals to not be.
- 5:05Great at stuff, okay? And just be patient with it.
- 5:08Give yourself the time to be patient with it.
- 5:12All right, my friends, I hope you have a very blessed day and
- 5:15allow yourself that Grace because there's goodness in that
- 5:20Grace. I hope you have an incredibly
- 5:22blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:24Bye.
