So last time we had le cou, la gorge, la nuque, les cordes vocales, and j'ai mal à la gorge. Let's practice all of them. Luna: Okay. Le cou. That's the neck. Like where you wear a necklace. Lucas: Exactly. Le cou. Say it once more. Luna: Le cou. Lucas: Good. Now la gorge. That's the throat. Like when you have a sore throat. Luna: La gorge. That sounds like 'garage' but with a softer g. Lucas: Close. And la nuque. That's the nape of the neck. Luna: La nuque. That's a tricky one. Nuque. Lucas: You got it. And les cordes vocales. The vocal cords. Luna: Les cordes vocales. Sounds fancy. Like something a singer would talk about. Lucas: Exactly. Now the phrase: j'ai mal à la gorge. I have a sore throat. Luna: J'ai mal à la gorge. I can imagine saying that at a pharmacy. Lucas: Perfect. So let's do a quick scene. You wake up and feel a tickle. Luna: Oh, I wake up and I say: Aïe, j'ai mal à la gorge. Et j'ai mal à la nuque aussi. Lucas: Nice. You have a sore throat and a sore nape. So you go to the pharmacy. Luna: Bonjour, j'ai mal à la gorge. Can you help? That would be practical. Lucas: Yes. And the pharmacist might ask: Depuis combien de temps? But we'll save that for another episode. Luna: Okay. So let's repeat all the words one more time. Le cou. Lucas: Le cou. Luna: La gorge.
