- 1:03Dollar. The original air date February twenty third of nineteen fifty eight, and
- 1:08the title is The Durango Laramie Matter Time No. Four Johnny Dollar. George
- 1:19read Johnny Deployd's of England. Oh y, George, do you any chance
- 1:23remember Durgo Laramie Dalhart from that place out in Oklahoma with a crazy name of
- 1:27bum Spung. That's right now, Johnny, How could I ever forget him?
- 1:30And more to the point, has he ever forgiven you? Forgiven me?
- 1:34After all, you were the one who accused him of passing counterfeit money.
- 1:38And I'll get his wash and start and iron a few one hundred dollars
- 1:41bills to make him look nice and new and crisp. I'm quite trying to
- 1:44admit I was entirely wrong about him that way. Hey, tell me,
- 1:46does he still pay his premiums in brand new money and in prison? Yes?
- 1:49And that's what has me worried. How do you mean, Well,
- 1:52he wrote me some time ago and said he'd be here on the tenth of
- 1:56last month to pay his regular forty five hundred dollars premium hit the last Well,
- 2:00that's nearly six weeks ago exactly, and he hasn't appeared. Well,
- 2:04did you're right, or Warren? To see what's hiding him up? I
- 2:07got no answer, Johnny. I think something's happened to him. After all,
- 2:10with the way he flashes money around. It's a wonder if somebody hasn't
- 2:14knocked him out long before this, George, if anything's happened to old Durrango
- 2:16Laramie downhard? Yeah, I thought you'd feel that way about it. Yeah,
- 2:22I'll let you know what I find out when I get to If you'll
- 2:23pardon the expression, bomb spun. Bob Bailey and The Exciting Adventures of the
- 2:37Man with the Action Packed Expense account America's fabulous freelance insurance investigator. Here that's
- 2:43truly Johnny Dollar, and now act one yours, truly Johnny Dollar. Expense
- 3:01account submitted by a special investigator, Johnny Dollar to Floyd's of England, American
- 3:06Office, Hertford, Connecticut. Following is thecount of expenses incourage during my investigation
- 3:10of the Durango Lara may matter. George Reid has quite a pension for handing
- 3:17me really off beat cases, but for once this looked like serious business expense
- 3:23account out of one ninety four to twenty transportation. I arrived at Enid,
- 3:27Oklahoma, shortly after four am. I'd him two or buck eighty five for
- 3:30breakfast. I had him three fifty dollars to posit on a rental car.
- 3:34I headed due north on Highway eighty one across some of the planets plains country
- 3:38I've ever seen that I hadn't expected to see again so soon. About twenty
- 3:42sixty seven miles further on, after crossing what remains on the Salt Fork of
- 3:45the Arkansas, I spotted the familiar weather beaten sign indicating that bum Spung was
- 3:50somewhere up a rough dirt road to the left bum spug named by the Indians
- 3:54it means bad water. And finally there was the same old broken wooden thing
- 4:00surrounding a couple of acres of poor sandy ground, the same ramshackle house,
- 4:03the broken down barn propped up in spots with timbers, and in the yard
- 4:09were the same two sad looking cause I've seen on my previous visit this way
- 4:13back horse and a friendly mangy toothless sounds, some decrepit looking chickens from spun
- 4:17so called ranch of Durrango Laramie dell Hart, who'd made it in oil,
- 4:21and who chose to settle down on this lonely desolate spot, And standing there
- 4:26looking at it, it was sorry to believe that the inside of the huge,
- 4:29unfaded house was clean, modern, well furnished, thanks to his niece
- 4:32Carol, who occasionally came up to see the old man. As I swung
- 4:35aside the sagging wire gate, I wondered if she was here. Now,
- 4:40I wondered if anyone was here, but not for long. Durrangle, Durragle.
- 4:46It's Johnny Dollar yay outside that ranch this ar now right a minute,
- 4:56you're not Drango. I came here to see drangle Laramie Dell. Oh,
- 5:00well the right way here. Now look you you shut up that right away
- 5:05from here? You see you shut up thirty drive away after your blown a
- 5:14hole on one of my tires. I h I guess that one's very sociable.
- 5:19Now, hey, look, lower that gun from it. No,
- 5:23you don't know you don't you try anything funny, and I'll let you have
- 5:27it for me. I guess you did up to me to picture up their
- 5:30attire for you. Et it? Huh? After all, as long as
- 5:34I done it, let me take a look and make sure you'll just staying
- 5:40up to something crick here. But I am okay just to be that gun
- 5:43out? Oh no, you go okay? Now, Hawaiian, what are
- 5:48you doing here? And where's the wrango? Very Humpadney shot a pack of
- 5:54punch? That's talking, mister Hawaii Where am I? Sorry? Why the
- 5:58woolson? That's who I am? Who do you think? Who are you?
- 6:00Johnny Dollar Insurance investigator? What are you doing here? Well? Am
- 6:04I du here? Why? Old Drango sent me a telegram? That's why?
- 6:08Yeah? Sure here here now read it for yourself. So mister sidewinder
- 6:15Wilson Gunside all field somewheres near the Petterdale River, Texas. That's where the
- 6:20field is, and that's where I got this telegram. Get yourself up here
- 6:25to pump spawn. That's what do you take? Take care of my ranch
- 6:28for a while, and get here fast, Signed Durngle. Yeah you know.
- 6:31Are you satisfied? Just who are you? Sidewinder? Who am I?
- 6:35Durrangles? Oh? This mister Spenders all old him since we've written together
- 6:41in the oil fields before we made his grul strike up from Coloradi. That's
- 6:44cool. So when he tells me to come up here and take care of
- 6:46things, I come. That's all what you expect. But now look here,
- 6:53what you say? Your name is Johnny Dollar? Yeah, well there's
- 6:56something I don't like about dur Angle's going away this time? What do you
- 7:00mean? What do I mean? Well? I mean the way he must
- 7:02have left in the powerful hurry. That's why you know Durango pretty one,
- 7:06pretty good? Well? Can you see him leaving this nice house or hisn't
- 7:11with all the doors and windows unlocked? He wasn't here when he went around
- 7:15through, sir, he'd already went away. And and can you see him
- 7:18leaving no food around for the cattle, and Matho's lim and Primo so hard
- 7:26this nice old dog here, What about the tractor just sitting out down the
- 7:30field plows down halfway up? Afore, what are you getting outside, Winder?
- 7:34What am I getting it? I'm a say, And he must have
- 7:38left all for hurry, that's all. And if you ask me, there's
- 7:42something funny about it. And I don't mean funny ha ha. Yeah,
- 7:46I think he got something there. You see, he was doing Highford,
- 7:48Connecticut over six weeks ago. Pay ponies in shortge eh, that's right,
- 7:53all loaded down with a brand new money. I bet probably I've told that
- 7:57crazy old Kyle this thousand times. If you ought to go traps and all
- 8:01over the country, will all that money and his kick Johnny? If he
- 8:05ain't showed up the way he was supposed, he just means one solitary single
- 8:11see like what sidewinder? Like what? Well? Like like somebody's waylaiden who
- 8:20shacked him for his money? That's what you know? Yeah, I'm afraid
- 8:24so what Sidewinder? I sure hope you're wrong. Change, I sure hope
- 8:30I'm wrong. Act two of yours truly, Johnny Dollar in a moment.
- 8:39And now for another episode in the life of Sergeant Donald Bellweather. My husband,
- 8:54Hi, honey, you picked the winds? Your wife a sure dead
- 8:58raba? How that? Oh you fixed him? Good for you, Donald,
- 9:01Thank you, my dear. Well that's that now for the rains were
- 9:07prepared for it. Huh. I feel better now, Oh, me too.
- 9:11A driver has to see the danger if he expects to avoid it,
- 9:13that's right. And also keep the back and side wind is clear, and
- 9:18rain and snowy weather. That's right. Oh, how about the horn?
- 9:22The horn? The horn doesn't work, sargeant. Aren't you going to fix
- 9:26it? No? I don't think so, frankly, Reba, I hate
- 9:30horns. Whenever there's a traffic jam, the first thing some guys do is
- 9:33brother horns, which does absolutely no good. Of course, not all it
- 9:37does is jar everyone's nerves. No, I don't think i'll fix though.
- 9:41But now wait a minute. Done. Look, supposing we're driving along and
- 9:46suddenly we see a youngster on his bicycle headed right out into the street,
- 9:48sounding that horn warn him and possibly avoid a tragic accident. Yes, that's
- 9:54true. Or supposing we're driving on the highway and just as we're about to
- 9:58pass a car. That car decides to pull out into Arlane and pass the
- 10:01car ahead of him. He obviously doesn't see us, and he won't hear
- 10:05us shout. But one little beep on that horn and he'll automatically scoot back
- 10:09and avoid a collision. Raba, you've convinced me, even though it can
- 10:15be a nuisance, the automobile horn is in nescessory. Then you'll repair it
- 10:18immediate. Oh that's my Donald, that's my doll, and no act too
- 10:37off yours truly, Johnny Dollar and the Durango Laramie matter Durango Laramie dalhearts,
- 10:48great old character from bum Spung, Oklahoma gone disappeared his panel. Sidewinder Wilson,
- 10:54a bit of a character himself, had no idea what might have happened
- 10:56to him, but hear the worst, and I had to agree that the
- 10:58spears justified. Tell me this side. Why have you heard anything from Drango's
- 11:05niece Carol? You mean that pretty little gal fixed up this place for him
- 11:09so nice? Kind of looks after that's the one where she don't she live
- 11:13down to need in it? Yes, runs again, station hits right.
- 11:18Shine of the flying Red Horse Han, help me fix this tire. We'll
- 11:20drive back to it. I'll help you fix the tire, but I'm staying
- 11:24right here. Oh why right? Because Drangos trust me to take care of
- 11:28the place. But if he does turn up, God ruin, I'll be
- 11:33here to have him get in dounch with you. Okay, now let's get
- 11:35this tire for no wait, look, huh see that fancy convertible coming up
- 11:41the road. I not only saw the convertible, but more important, who
- 11:46was in it? Who pulled up alongside the fence and stepped out. She
- 11:50was twenty three or four, a tall, slim brunette wearing a neatly tailored
- 11:52skirt of type fitting safflous meat trim. She looked like she just stepped out
- 11:58of Child's with the ritz. I have been so breasted, Johnny, Carol,
- 12:03Carol Howard, you couldn't resist Mithilda charms. I couldn't stay away just
- 12:09with that. You don't like that, John, Carol O cheer, it's
- 12:31all shut up sides mm hmming by going oh yeah, Carol, Carol,
- 12:45isn't you going to propose? John? Where's the wrangle? Have you heard
- 12:48anything from him since he left here? Six weeks ago he went to Hargreet,
- 12:50but he has no ride there. Oh, now, don't you start
- 12:54worrying none about old uncle Draangle. I'm from there. You here, Johnny,
- 12:58I'm sure crazy old goop sitting out across the country with over fifty thousand
- 13:03dollars in money in his hands, he has said enough bit And oh,
- 13:07Johnny, do you think something's happened to him? Yes? Me, I
- 13:11think somebody's killed him for that money. Oh no, you haven't heard from
- 13:15him since he left. Only a postcard from Chicago where he stayed overnight at
- 13:18some fancy hotel. And Johnny, that one was nicey oh it before he
- 13:24went straight to Hartford. That real estate man was from Chicago, Cara real
- 13:28estate man. Oh, he used to come out here looking for people with
- 13:31oil money, tried to get dragled to invest in real estate Florida, New
- 13:35England. What did his postcards say? Nothing? Really, justin he was
- 13:39staying overnight and before he come back, he was gonna look at Olm's hat.
- 13:45Who is all? Oh, he's always riding silly stuff like that.
- 13:48I don't know, Oh, Johnny red a Redo wasn't there rest farm back
- 13:54in Eni? The come on, that's where we're going. And I put
- 14:05in a long distance called to Phil Avery, an old friend and international press
- 14:09service, in the hope that I Drango's body had been picked up anywhere in
- 14:11the country. The newest files would have some note of it. Durrango Laramie
- 14:15dal Hard. That's a man's name. Yeah, Phil, doesn't mean anything
- 14:18to you. I'll say this, Johnny. If a name like that and
- 14:20they were coming in over the wires that certainly remembered it, but it has
- 14:24not to my knowledge instantly. What's it all about? Oh, he left
- 14:28here loaded with cash. Now he's disappeared. Only that he's planned to see
- 14:33some guy named og Oh. For some crazy reason, he's interested in OG's
- 14:37hat. Well, that's about a silliad Ong's hat. Did you say,
- 14:43Oh no, you mean that rings a bell? Are you kidding? Of
- 14:48course? Oh no, Phil, Oh, listen, this may be a
- 14:56matter of life, or doesn't Phil? Act three of yours truly Johnny Dollar
- 15:16in a moment, and now for another episode in the life of Sergeant Donald's
- 15:22Bellweather. My husband, Reba Riba, what is it? Donald? Confounded
- 15:37Reby. I can't find the fountain pan. I've looked all through this desk.
- 15:39Here it is, dear. You must have used it as a marker
- 15:43when you were reading this book. Let's see this great literary classic six gun
- 15:48showdown at Powder River Gulch. All right, never mind about my reading habits.
- 15:52Just look at the coverage we're going to get with this new auto accident
- 15:56policy. Let's see collision fifty dollars deductible public liability, property damage, medical
- 16:03benefits. In other words, we have complete coverage. That's right. Of
- 16:07course, it's gonna cost us money. I'm sending the company a check right
- 16:11now. Gee, it's too bad we don't live in Rhode Island. Rhode
- 16:15Island because on our rate should be lower. Rhode Island has less accidents per
- 16:19capita than any other states. Oh, which state has the highest? Only
- 16:23see yeah, uh here it is Nevada. Nobody going. Nevada's second highest.
- 16:29Alaska has the most. Really, I didn't know that. You know,
- 16:32it's just too bad we can't eliminate traffic accidents completely. Not only would
- 16:36it save life and land, but it'll be a lot less straight in the
- 16:38pocketbook. Yeah, that's for sure. These automobile accident policies get more expensive
- 16:42every year just because there's so many costly accidents. Well, I'm glad we've
- 16:47got some good insurance coverage, Donald, but just remember one thing. What's
- 16:51that Well, some auto accidents ruin a fender and some ruined family. That's
- 16:56true, very true. But as far as I'm concerned, I don't want
- 16:59an if old insurance money. I want you here at home, safe and
- 17:03sound. You'll always drive carefully, won't you. That's my Donald. That's
- 17:11my Donald. And now Act three of yours, truly Johnny Dollar and the
- 17:27Durango lamy matter? Well, well you stop that howling and make some sense.
- 17:41This could be a matter of life or Dick, that's right. You
- 17:49know who he is. You know him. I don't know what they are,
- 18:00but I know what it is. Huh oh, sat New Jersey?
- 18:06What sure he got out of the pilot? Cranbury bark, gutry down you
- 18:14Mark, I'll eat it? Are you serious? Of course? Okay?
- 18:18Film, okay, Well thanks, I found part of that real estate promoters
- 18:23in Chicago. We'll take the first flight we can get out of Tussa.
- 18:27Come on, Carol, we're on our way. Expense of comment. I'm
- 18:33four one hundred and sixty four eighty plain for an incidentals and Chicago. We
- 18:37stopped over long enough to pay a brief, unpleasant visit with one J.
- 18:41Harry Kramlin, real estate promoter at this office just off the loop. So
- 18:45what if I did sell this dale hard character some land over in New Jersey?
- 18:48What's it to you? You're trying to cut in on a good thing.
- 18:52How much did you tell him, mister Kramlin? A little over thirty
- 18:55five thousand dollars worth? But now he was it a lot of worthless swamp
- 19:00land? He didn't seem to think so after the glowing report I gave him
- 19:06because the old fool thinks his oil on ran. When if you've taken Durrangle,
- 19:10Now, ain't that a name, Darngeo Laramie Dell. If he's been
- 19:14chipped in this deal, would you better duck the next time you see me
- 19:18coming threatening me about a cash perfectly legal deal. Oh, I'm sure it
- 19:22was legal. What oil in South Jersey ran? When my warning still goes.
- 19:33The next leg of our flight took us to Philadelphia. There I ran
- 19:37at another car that's fifty bucks deposit item five. We drove across the Delaware
- 19:41River and picked up Rout five thirty seven avon Holly. There we stop our
- 19:45sandwich and a coke that'sideem six and there A passing glance at the newspaper headlines
- 19:48stopped me in my tracks, something about a big oil development at Yeah,
- 19:53you guessed it, at Oong's Hat. We burned up Highway five thirty to
- 19:59Pemberton and then hit a sandy back road that led deep into the pine and
- 20:02scrubble. Finally, suddenly we came to a clearing and there, well,
- 20:07there must have been one hundred cars, expensive one some of them show fred
- 20:10limousines and people milling about, hurrying each other, shutting each other down.
- 20:14And right in the middle of the crowd a tall, angular man in blue
- 20:18jeans and a ten gallon hats durrango, Johnny ther he here. Then I
- 20:23saw something else on the edge of the clearing, two brand new towering oil
- 20:27derricks. Come on, Johnny, let's give him away from that mob.
- 20:32Not only was he cheated by that shyster real estate operator and they're thinking he
- 20:34was buying oil land, but he's he's throwing more money away building those derricks.
- 20:38Oh, John, Oh, that mob is probably trying to sell him
- 20:41en up, bringing in pumps and the equipment, the fleece of royalty tender
- 20:45one. Somebody in that crowd's offered in the Brooklyn Bridge to boot, then
- 20:48we gotta stamp them. He had Brami shooting Marango seems shy dog hi d'rango?
- 21:07Well, what's the dog? Black attorney? Can ever wrung you out
- 21:10for this? Right? Come on in his jacket. I didn't get away
- 21:18from this blast. Come if you look here, Johnny, what are you
- 21:22going to my little Carol Man? I'll tell you Drango sneak out eating behind
- 21:27my back and he helped. All right, get on in there now or
- 21:32he has the peat a man and shut down. Way you can't. All
- 21:37right now, you young rascals, that's what you've done. Got married?
- 21:45Well, of course, not your goot. Oh that's what I was hoping
- 21:51for, the old goot. Why don't you give me that girl? I
- 21:53know how you were talking every since Johnny come out to bump Spung last year.
- 22:00I Uh, I'm afraid this trip is on business. D wrangle business
- 22:06with the pretty girl like Carol here? And how did you two get here?
- 22:11Anyway? Johnny brought me on the plane. But what did you No,
- 22:15he did transported you across the state line, a whole lot of them,
- 22:19and there ain't know aw about that, right Ja, you too were
- 22:23going to have to get married. Man. I'm just the one to see
- 22:26that you do. I don't carry this whole six gun or nothing. The
- 22:32wrangle? Would you shut up, Matt, Johnny tell you why he's been
- 22:33looking all over for you? What do you mean, look on, Jason?
- 22:38Huh the wrango? You've been had me by the crook who told you
- 22:45this was oil land? God, Johnny, I knowed it warn't a minute
- 22:48I seen it. But you put up treks and they must have called it.
- 22:52Or sure they caught me plenty. A funny thing happened, Oh the
- 22:57minute the folks got win me a median arrowier man from Texas and Oklahoma putting
- 23:03up the Derek my word of honor. I've told every one of them,
- 23:06people I've told on a dry all are here? You mean you are there.
- 23:11I've told him that I was blowing the bake. Was that stopping?
- 23:15That? Wouldn't stopping from wanting to buy this land away from me? No?
- 23:18And you've been selling it? Why? Sure? I told him it
- 23:22was no good, but I just couldn't stop one. So far I've come
- 23:26out of mine over sixty five thousand dollars. I say, uh yeah,
- 23:37Johnny Dollar. Are you here to buy a piece of my land or to
- 23:41marry my little Carol here? Oh no, no, durangle, Now you'd
- 23:48better be both. Now, how about it my expense account that I'm seven
- 23:56one thousand dollars? Even the company now owns a small honk of land in
- 24:02Omshat, New Jersey. As for Carol, that devil lollenbaun Well Sunday maybe
- 24:11Sunday expens account total including incidentals and transportation back to Hydrid fourteen hundred and sixteen
- 24:18dollars even, Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. Yours Truly Johnny Dollars, starring
- 24:45Bob Bailey, originates in Hollywood and is produced and directed by Jack Johnstone,
- 24:51who also wrote today's story. Heard in our cast were Virginia, Greg G
- 24:55Stanley Jones, Junius Matthews, Alan Reed, Frank Nelson, and John mcindone.
- 25:00Be sure to join us next week, same time and station for another
- 25:03exciting story of Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. This is Dan Coberly speaking yours
- 25:26truly. Johnny Dollar has been a presentation of the United States Armed Forces Radio
- 25:30and Television Service. This is Andrew J. Graham, author of the web
- 26:29surface series Oh and a Man of His Wife. You're listening to the great
- 26:33Detectives of Old Time Radio. Welcome back. I've commented on this before,
- 26:44but it bears repeating. The amount of continuity in this show is really incredible,
- 26:51and outside of actual serialized adventures, there wasn't anything on, of course,
- 26:57soapropers, there wasn't anything like this with a detective where you would keep
- 27:03having so many people keep coming back, and they're such great and fun characters.
- 27:08Of course, we see this as a sequel for characters who first appeared
- 27:12back in episode thirteen ninety three, The Funny Money Matter, which we played
- 27:18for you back in October, and definitely a welcome return. I'm a little
- 27:25bit iffy on Johnny's expense account here, including land purchase that might just be
- 27:33a little bit above his authority, but it was a fun episode, and
- 27:40I think that it's nice showing Johnny as someone who has people, not just
- 27:45that he dropped in and helped once, but people he keeps encountering and meeting
- 27:52and who he just genuinely likes and cares about. It definitely adds some depth
- 27:57and makes it stand out from most other detective programs in the Golden Age.
- 28:04Also, I do want to comment a little bit on the PSAs. I
- 28:08do hope we get a different PSA because we keep repeating the same commercials inserted
- 28:15by the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service. I will say that hearing the
- 28:22ad multiple times does give you a chance to think perhaps different things about it.
- 28:27Like in the first Sergeant Bellwether commercial, Sergeant Bellwether's horn was busted on
- 28:36his car, but he had decided that he didn't really care about repairing it
- 28:41because people often used horns for annoying and counterproductive purposes in the midst of traffic.
- 28:48And today, when I was listening to this, this bag to question,
- 28:52So you not having a working horn on your car is going to stop
- 28:56other drivers from being obnoxious? How though, I guess in the context of
- 29:02making a PSA, it may be intended to speak to drivers who don't see
- 29:07any reason to take care of their horns, since they just think of it
- 29:11as a nuisance based on how other people use it. Now to listener comments
- 29:15and feedback, and we start with a comment regarding the sick chick matter,
- 29:19Ruth ellen Wright's it was so cool to hear this, and in particular to
- 29:25hear the reference to the chicken expert vet identified on the show as doctor A
- 29:30gold Haft. Doctor Goldhaft was a real person, Tevis Goldhlft, who was
- 29:36a close family friend until his death six years ago, aged ninety five.
- 29:41Tevas was one of the world's foremost experts on poultry diseases, Following in the
- 29:45footsteps of his father. He was an extraordinarily nice man, though at least
- 29:51in later life he reveled in telling pretty bad jokes. Well, thanks so
- 29:56much for sharing. And this is just one of another. One of those
- 30:02things to really like about Johnny Dollar is they often, you know, they
- 30:07often find so many ways to capture, you know, all these locations that
- 30:14Johnny dollars at. You know, it just be easy to say, okay,
- 30:17he's going to a chicken farm, and what why not, We'll set
- 30:22it in New Jersey and we'll just you know, make a bunch of stuff
- 30:25off. But I think that there was a lot of care that went into
- 30:29that, even getting down to details like this. So thanks so much,
- 30:33Ruth Allen. And then we have a comment from Jeff who emails it,
- 30:37thanks for sharing the Price of Fame episode, one of my favorite Johnny dollars.
- 30:42Thanks for all your time and effort to bring this podcast to all of
- 30:45your listeners. And then we have Patrick who goes back a little bit further
- 30:51and says, thanks for turning me on to the shows that contributed to yours
- 30:55trolley, Johnny Dollar, The Valentine Matter, which included not Beat, John
- 31:00McMaster, and yours truly Johnny Dollar, The San Antonio Matter. Of course,
- 31:06we haven't played the Not Beat episode, but San Antonio Matter we have,
- 31:10and even that we're able to bring you a good version after the first
- 31:15time we just got to play a rehearsal, So thanks so much for that
- 31:19comment, Patrick, and then Victor emails in. I noticed certain distinctive recurring
- 31:26voices of extras on old time radio shows like Johnny Dollar and Dragnet and Broadway
- 31:30is My Beat. The one I noticed often is Howard mcneer, who is
- 31:34the actor who played Floyd the Barber on the original Andy Griffiths Show. As
- 31:38an expert on old time radio, I doubt I'm telling you anything you don't
- 31:42already know, but it was an excuse to write your note and tell you
- 31:45how much I appreciate the commentary you add to the shows you distribute. It
- 31:48certainly puts your head and shoulders above the other old time radio feeds on iTunes.
- 31:55Thank you, Victor, and appreciate your not And it is only interesting
- 32:00to hear all the episodes that Howard mcneer appeared in. And he had quite
- 32:07a career suspense the lineup United States Postal Inspector. It's hard to find a
- 32:13dramatic series or he didn't have at least some impact, and he did that
- 32:17without really a whole lot of variance in his voice in terms of being able
- 32:23to do like unique accents or anything like that. Michael says, can't help
- 32:29myself from locking Bob Bailey as a Johnny Dollar. And thanks so much for
- 32:35all your comments this week, truly appreciated. We will be back tomorrow with
- 32:40Dragnet and next Friday we'll be here for another adventure of that man with the
- 32:45action packed expense account. Yours truly, Johnny Dollar. In the meantime,
