This Saturday, Amherst’s police and firefighters take the ice for a charity hockey game to honor Danny Bechtel, the beloved son of an officer who tragically died in a dirt bike accident last August. Danny, a passionate hockey fan and organ donor whose selfless gift saved lives, is remembered through this heartfelt event organized by Officer Trey Johnson. All proceeds from $5 tickets fund the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Golisano Children’s Hospital, with buyers also entering a prize draw.
