- 0:10Speaker 1: Win true, insurance true, I'm a check as Hey, everybody,
- 0:32Speaker 1: welcome to Conspiracy The Show. I'm your host, Dadam Todd
- 0:36Speaker 1: Brown joining me as co host this week like always,
- 0:38Speaker 1: Connor m E'spadden's here. How's it going, man, Ricks and Minifidge?
- 0:42Speaker 1: More like bitch and mischief? Is that's what I say? Yeah?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Absolutely true.
- 0:49Speaker 2: You know sometimes I don't really take enough time to
- 0:51Speaker 2: come up with these opening quips. Adam, I don't know
- 0:54Speaker 2: if you've noticed the varying quality.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I mean, you're not made a free time.
- 0:58Speaker 2: You got other ship to do, you know, That's right, Adam,
- 1:01Speaker 2: Thank you, Yeah, of course I.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Got your back. This is a crazy fucking story we're
- 1:05Speaker 1: talking about this week.
- 1:07Speaker 2: It's pretty nuts.
- 1:09Speaker 1: The internet is all a buzz about it.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Oh that's what I was going to say, more like
- 1:14Speaker 2: Salt Lake shitty. I can't pretend I said that that
- 1:17Speaker 2: was good. Yeah, I forgot it. Once you put me
- 1:19Speaker 2: on the spot. I was like, shit, I had a
- 1:21Speaker 2: good one and the bad one, and I only had
- 1:22Speaker 2: the bad one in my short term memory.
- 1:25Speaker 1: This is a story lots of people have sent me,
- 1:28Speaker 1: and by that I mean two. But when two people
- 1:31Speaker 1: send it to you in the span of two days.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You can extrapolate from there and there's some heat on
- 1:37Speaker 1: the streets. Yeah, figure out that this is finger on
- 1:40Speaker 1: the pulse type of stuff.
- 1:41Speaker 2: The reason people come to conspiracy the show. Yeah, absolutely
- 1:44Speaker 2: the hottest conspiracies of the past and tomorrow and today.
- 1:49Speaker 2: That's what we said at our corporate retreat this year.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Logan Trent, who was my co host on the WNBA podcast,
- 1:58Speaker 1: sent me this story and Connor sent it to me
- 2:01Speaker 1: the next day. We're talking about the alleged theft of
- 2:06Speaker 1: a Lego collection in Utah. I don't know if alleged
- 2:10Speaker 1: is even the right way to put it.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I think using the word alleged is invoking an abundance
- 2:16Speaker 2: of caution.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but there is a lot of evidence that a
- 2:21Speaker 1: man in Utah has had his Lego collection, estimated to
- 2:26Speaker 1: be worth about two hundred thousand dollars.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I believe it's his father's Lego collection, which makes it
- 2:31Speaker 2: even a little dirtier. His dad, who's ill.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Yeah, his dad who is too ill to even be
- 2:38Speaker 1: told about this. He doesn't even know his collection has
- 2:42Speaker 1: been stolen.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a shock to the system. As someone who's
- 2:46Speaker 2: lost this collection of Legos before, it's tough. Yeah, been
- 2:49Speaker 2: a bad breakup.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Oh that sucks.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I know. She tore me down brick by brick.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I had a pretty mean Gi Joe collection as a
- 2:58Speaker 1: kid that I wish I held on to four a
- 3:01Speaker 1: little bit longer. Me and my dad sold it, And
- 3:04Speaker 1: looking back, I think my dad just needed some cash.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't think we made a quality
- 3:10Speaker 1: deal on that at all.
- 3:11Speaker 2: But it's fine. Does a guy he once flipped some
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yugio structured decks for like a good three X on
- 3:16Speaker 2: his investment, I can't relate at him. I'm sorry.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean I'm doing better these days. I
- 3:21Speaker 1: bought a Victor Wembin Yama rookie card about six weeks
- 3:25Speaker 1: ago for seventy dollars, and that same card just sold
- 3:29Speaker 1: on eBay in auction for three hundred and fifty.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Can they even fit that guy's whole name on a card.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It's hard to fit that guy on a card. I
- 3:37Speaker 1: don't know if you're familiar. But they call him the alien.
- 3:40Speaker 1: He looks like an alien who came to Earth to
- 3:43Speaker 1: play basketball, specifically.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Well, I better stop making fun of him. Then that
- 3:47Speaker 2: sounds like a bad course of action.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I mean you both have a similar frame. He's a
- 3:52Speaker 1: very lanky guy.
- 3:53Speaker 2: He's just filled it with muscle instead of this Costco
- 3:56Speaker 2: snack bar.
- 3:57Speaker 1: The muscle is still coming.
- 3:58Speaker 2: But yeah, okay, he's that. He does look he looks
- 4:02Speaker 2: like he's been photoshopped in and enlarged.
- 4:04Speaker 1: He is a freak of nature. Sports cards are my
- 4:07Speaker 1: collection of choice. But for some people it's Lego or legos.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You put the s on what's plural? Right, It's not
- 4:15Speaker 1: like deer.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I think it is like deer. I think you say lego.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Oh do you well?
- 4:19Speaker 2: I guess if you're really up your own ass. I
- 4:21Speaker 2: think both are correct. They both sound correct to me
- 4:23Speaker 2: at least.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, a better podcast would have had a Lego expert
- 4:28Speaker 1: here to weigh in on all of this. But we're
- 4:31Speaker 1: not a better podcast, so we have no idea if
- 4:34Speaker 1: it's Lego or legos.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Okay, according to Google AI, officially no. The Lego group
- 4:39Speaker 2: stays that lego is an adjective used to modify. Now,
- 4:41Speaker 2: so the correct plural is lego bricks or lego sets.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Oh I'm not gonna do that.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yeah, fuck that. That's like the saying that a skittle,
- 4:48Speaker 2: a single skittle is called a skittle's lentil, Like, fuck
- 4:51Speaker 2: you no, it's not.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Yeah, No, you're gonna get Lego or Legos out of me.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I'm not following your fucking rules. He nerds.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Fuck you, you can't do it, you can't. I won't do
- 5:01Speaker 2: what you tell me. There you go. God, I'm stuttering
- 5:03Speaker 2: like a dope this episode.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Yeah, just like bricks and minifigs won't do what you
- 5:08Speaker 1: tell them. It turns out bricks and minifigs, I gather
- 5:11Speaker 1: they're kind of like the game stop of Legos. It
- 5:15Speaker 1: seems like I think that's accurate in this video that
- 5:19Speaker 1: I'll link to. I'll link to all the videos that
- 5:21Speaker 1: people sent me, but I only watched one, which is
- 5:25Speaker 1: on the YouTube page of a guy named Reckless Ben, who,
- 5:29Speaker 1: to his credit, puts together a pretty entertaining video. I
- 5:33Speaker 1: would have watched this as just a Netflix documentary, truly.
- 5:38Speaker 2: It's it's full of twists and turns. There's lots of
- 5:41Speaker 2: unbelievable moments. But he's got all the receipts. It's all
- 5:44Speaker 2: there on video. You can you can see it with
- 5:46Speaker 2: your own eyes.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's one of those things where I don't
- 5:49Speaker 1: mind the person making the documentary being such a central
- 5:53Speaker 1: figure in it because he's doing all the work. He's
- 5:56Speaker 1: actually trying to get this guy's lego collection back from
- 6:00Speaker 1: this bricks and minifig franchise in Utah that stole it.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Basically, Yeah, I don't know what they u embezzled it
- 6:09Speaker 2: from him?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Basically what happened? This guy named Brian, his dad collected
- 6:14Speaker 1: Star Wars lego sets already.
- 6:17Speaker 2: You know he's a cool guy.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, Which, if you're gonna collect lego sets, that's probably
- 6:22Speaker 1: one of the cooler one. I don't know is.
- 6:25Speaker 2: That that's gonna be one of the strongest eyp if
- 6:26Speaker 2: not the strongest hype. I mean, legos in Star Wars
- 6:29Speaker 2: are like they go together, like peanut butter and jelly.
- 6:31Speaker 1: They're synonymous, and if nothing else from a return on
- 6:34Speaker 1: investment standpoint, you know what you're doing. If Star Wars
- 6:38Speaker 1: legos are your lego of choice.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I think a lot of the value if I'm not mistaken.
- 6:43Speaker 2: My friend Wassami came from like episode one stuff because
- 6:46Speaker 2: it wasn't bought in really incredible quantities, because that movie
- 6:50Speaker 2: was panned when it came out, So the people that
- 6:52Speaker 2: did buy it, it's got a certain scarcity to it.
- 6:55Speaker 1: That makes sense. Yeah, because just because the movie sucked
- 6:57Speaker 1: doesn't mean the Legos are gonna suck.
- 6:59Speaker 2: No, it's it's still a cool ass spaceship now. Episode one,
- 7:02Speaker 2: it said there was zero cool spaceships in it, like
- 7:04Speaker 2: there was cool spaceships.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Yeah. So this guy named Brian, he goes to Bricks
- 7:10Speaker 1: and Minifigs again, seems like kind of the game stop
- 7:13Speaker 1: of Legos in this country. It's where everyone goes to
- 7:17Speaker 1: sell their Lego collections, at least according to the Lego
- 7:22Speaker 1: collectors talk to in this video.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I gotta imagine if it is the game stop of Legos,
- 7:27Speaker 2: they're going to offer you thirty percent value on your
- 7:30Speaker 2: collection or you know, forty percent store credit. Yeah, there's
- 7:34Speaker 2: nothing more heartbreaking then taking every game you owned a
- 7:37Speaker 2: game stop and then being like, Nope, you still can't
- 7:39Speaker 2: get the new Call of Duty.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Connor, it seems like that would have been a better outcome,
- 7:45Speaker 1: because if I'm gathering correctly, it seems like he was
- 7:48Speaker 1: just consigning this, Like he just gave it to them
- 7:52Speaker 1: so they could sell it and then they would keep
- 7:54Speaker 1: a cut and then give him the money. So he
- 7:58Speaker 1: didn't even get any up front money like you do
- 8:01Speaker 1: when you go hawk your wares at GameStop. Thirty is
- 8:04Speaker 1: better than zero percent, right, And that's where the problem
- 8:08Speaker 1: starts because, unfortunately for Brian, the same day he went
- 8:12Speaker 1: to sell this Lego collection, the owner of that franchise
- 8:16Speaker 1: was looking to sell her store, and she called corporate
- 8:20Speaker 1: and was like, hey, can you help me find a
- 8:23Speaker 1: buyer for this franchise. They show up the next day
- 8:27Speaker 1: and they're like, yeah, we actually found a buyer. You
- 8:30Speaker 1: need to leave right now, like you have to go.
- 8:33Speaker 1: And there is surveillance video in the store of this
- 8:36Speaker 1: owner telling the new owner that, hey, this guy just
- 8:40Speaker 1: dropped off a massive Star Wars Lego collection worth two
- 8:45Speaker 1: hundred thousand dollars. If I don't get this paperwork, I'm
- 8:49Speaker 1: not going to know what we have to pay him.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And this new owner just says that's on the new owners, now,
- 8:56Speaker 1: don't worry. Corporate is going to worry about that contract.
- 8:59Speaker 1: All this shit is.
- 9:00Speaker 2: On video, a nice display of bullshitting.
- 9:02Speaker 1: And now this guy's collection is just in this store.
- 9:06Speaker 1: The store is posting on social media about it. They're
- 9:11Speaker 1: listing stuff for sale, they're bragging about how they got
- 9:14Speaker 1: this two hundred thousand dollars collection from this guy named Brian,
- 9:18Speaker 1: but they're not giving him any money, and according to
- 9:21Speaker 1: their official stance, they don't have the collection. They've basically
- 9:25Speaker 1: stolen it.
- 9:25Speaker 2: They disappeared it.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah, in their view. When Brian goes to talk to them,
- 9:29Speaker 1: they're like, what this is just inventory that was here
- 9:33Speaker 1: when we took over the store. I don't know what
- 9:35Speaker 1: you're talking about. This two hundred thousand dollars collection.
- 9:38Speaker 2: They threw Qui gun jin down the memory hole.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Yeah, And he shows them the paperwork and they're like, nah,
- 9:44Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know anything about it. And
- 9:47Speaker 1: this is two hundred thousand dollars worth of legos. So
- 9:50Speaker 1: it's basically the entire stor's inventory at this point.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Fucking IRA although I mean, at least those are FDIC insured. Yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 2: they don't have that. Yeah, no shit, there's no ld
- 10:04Speaker 2: I see.
- 10:04Speaker 1: So they start selling off this guy's collection. He shows up,
- 10:10Speaker 1: shows them the contract and they're like, you can sue us,
- 10:14Speaker 1: but we're gonna fucking wreck you in court if you do,
- 10:17Speaker 1: We're gonna drag it out forever, and you're just gonna
- 10:20Speaker 1: have to kind of accept this two hundred thousand dollars loss,
- 10:23Speaker 1: which is insane. That's insane.
- 10:25Speaker 2: There's only justice for the wealthy in the United States
- 10:28Speaker 2: of America.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Go figure, Well, I mean the cops will get involved,
- 10:31Speaker 1: so surely they'll fix everything.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Of course, go minifigure.
- 10:36Speaker 1: So Brian contacts the police, they do nothing to help.
- 10:41Speaker 1: A group of YouTubers find out about this, and they
- 10:44Speaker 1: team up to help Brian get this collection back. But
- 10:47Speaker 1: then we find out that Bricks and Minifigs corporate reached
- 10:51Speaker 1: out to them and threatened them with legal action, so
- 10:55Speaker 1: they stop. So that's when this reckless ben fella gets involved.
- 10:59Speaker 1: He's a documentary filmmaker on YouTube. He does like infiltrate
- 11:04Speaker 1: cults type of shit. We see a bunch of clips
- 11:08Speaker 1: of that in the video. He drives to this Bricks
- 11:11Speaker 1: and Minifig store in Utah to find out their side
- 11:15Speaker 1: of the story, ask about the Star Wars collection, and
- 11:19Speaker 1: the manager immediately tells him to leave and calls the police.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Refuses to look at the contract, tells him he has
- 11:26Speaker 1: to talk to corporate, but he already talked to corporate.
- 11:29Speaker 1: They said you have to talk to the store, So
- 11:31Speaker 1: he gets on the phone with the store owner the
- 11:33Speaker 1: store owner calls him an idiot, and the police show up, and,
- 11:38Speaker 1: like I promised, they do everything they can to help.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Just joking, of course they don't. They side with the
- 11:44Speaker 1: store immediately and ask this Bend guy to leave. Don't
- 11:48Speaker 1: care at all that two hundred thousand dollars worth of
- 11:51Speaker 1: legos may have been stolen from someone protecting serving.
- 11:55Speaker 2: What can't they do?
- 11:56Speaker 1: I mean it's not surprising because that's the police for you.
- 12:01Speaker 1: They typically are going to side with the person who
- 12:03Speaker 1: has the most money. That's America for you, basically.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Yeah, And I mean there's there's examples all over the
- 12:10Speaker 2: country of like gangs within police departments.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I remember when the Making a Murderer documentary came out
- 12:17Speaker 1: about that Steven Avery guy in Wisconsin who obviously got
- 12:21Speaker 1: fucking framed by the police. One of the objections I
- 12:25Speaker 1: saw someone post online about that documentary was, well, I
- 12:30Speaker 1: just can't imagine an entire police force would conspire to
- 12:35Speaker 1: frame this guy just because they were facing a fifteen
- 12:39Speaker 1: million dollar judgment in a lawsuit. It's like, are you
- 12:42Speaker 1: fucking insane that the police wouldn't do that in a
- 12:45Speaker 1: small ass town where a police force is probably going
- 12:49Speaker 1: to be eliminated after a fifteen million dollar lawsuit. You
- 12:53Speaker 1: think the cops wouldn't team up to frame a motherfucker
- 12:55Speaker 1: to stop that from happening. That's your objection. Get the
- 12:58Speaker 1: fuck out of here. Police do shit this all the time,
- 13:00Speaker 1: and this is a great example of it. The police
- 13:04Speaker 1: go out of their way to protect the people who
- 13:07Speaker 1: have stolen from.
- 13:08Speaker 2: This man, to protect capital. I mean, that's what it's
- 13:11Speaker 2: all about.
- 13:12Speaker 1: And you see it on video repeatedly. At one point,
- 13:15Speaker 1: they are actually presented with proof that the people in
- 13:19Speaker 1: this store have committed a crime and they just leave.
- 13:22Speaker 1: They're just like, all right, we're done talking. Instead of
- 13:25Speaker 1: doing their job and arresting someone.
- 13:28Speaker 2: They're just gaslighting this guy, and they're pretty good at it.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yeah. There's various points where they're like, you know, we're
- 13:33Speaker 1: gonna arrest you if you don't leave, and he's like,
- 13:36Speaker 1: all right, arrest me. I haven't actually committed any crime here,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and they don't arrest him. They're just trying to scare
- 13:43Speaker 1: them into leaving, so this all goes away. And meanwhile,
- 13:47Speaker 1: this is a dude's entire life savings. This is a
- 13:51Speaker 1: thing he worked toward his whole fucking life. In this
- 13:54Speaker 1: fucking pissant franchise in Utah just stole it from him,
- 13:59Speaker 1: and the police are like, that's fine, that's fine. They
- 14:01Speaker 1: have more money than you.
- 14:03Speaker 2: It wasn't even like it was the head of Arby's.
- 14:05Speaker 2: It was just your local Arby's fucked you out of
- 14:07Speaker 2: you know, like your local small business. You're you're the game,
- 14:12Speaker 2: stop round the band.
- 14:13Speaker 1: That's one of the tactics Bricks and Minifigs uses is
- 14:17Speaker 1: if you go to the store and ask about it,
- 14:20Speaker 1: they're going to be like, well, you got to talk
- 14:21Speaker 1: to corporate. And if you go to corporate, they'll be like,
- 14:24Speaker 1: these are franchises. They get to do whatever they want.
- 14:27Speaker 1: So you got to talk to them. And at that point,
- 14:29Speaker 1: what do you do. You can't just raise your hand
- 14:31Speaker 1: and say I object. You're giving me the run around. Yeah,
- 14:35Speaker 1: that's the point. They're giving you the run around, and
- 14:37Speaker 1: so you have to, if you can afford it, take
- 14:39Speaker 1: some sort of legal action. And if you can't, fuck you,
- 14:42Speaker 1: they stole your fucking legos. That's nuts. I wonder if
- 14:47Speaker 1: this has happened to anyone else.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and so just someone who wasn't a YouTube documentary filmmaker, Yeah.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Or just didn't have the wherewithal to figure out how
- 14:56Speaker 1: to get the story out there, because they seem pretty
- 15:00Speaker 1: good at what they've done.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, they seem to have a rigmar role between the
- 15:04Speaker 2: corporate franchise, pointing at each other and acting dumb routine
- 15:09Speaker 2: and as well, it seems pretty plug and play with
- 15:11Speaker 2: the cops. Who uh you know, I guess are they
- 15:15Speaker 2: getting a kickback from bricks and minifigs like they're a
- 15:17Speaker 2: you know, a crooked massage parlor.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I wonder how many of the people involved here are Mormons.
- 15:25Speaker 2: I think they're all Mormons.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Because Mormons fucking stick together. We know that, and I
- 15:30Speaker 1: wouldn't be surprised if some of that is at play here. Also,
- 15:34Speaker 1: we're in the same church. We got to protect each other.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I don't know, I think it's absolutely I think it's
- 15:39Speaker 2: a Mormon gang within the police department. If you're a
- 15:42Speaker 2: local Mormon businessman of any renowned then they're they're going
- 15:46Speaker 2: to bend over backwards to you know, cover up for you,
- 15:49Speaker 2: cape for you.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Because it doesn't seem like we're dealing with enough money
- 15:54Speaker 1: for it to be Oh well, the police are getting
- 15:57Speaker 1: rich from this too. It's two hundred thousand dollars. That's
- 16:00Speaker 1: not enough to go around to all the cops who
- 16:02Speaker 1: have been involved in this, So it's got to be
- 16:05Speaker 1: something deeper than that. So yeah, maybe it's the Mormon shit.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I don't know, so reckless Ben. He starts doing all
- 16:12Speaker 1: of these stunts to try and make some headway with
- 16:16Speaker 1: this investigation. For one thing, to find out the store
- 16:20Speaker 1: owner's name. He basically sets up a fake lego cult
- 16:26Speaker 1: and uses stuff he's learned from infiltrating other cults to
- 16:31Speaker 1: brainwash a Bricks and Minifigs employee into telling him the
- 16:37Speaker 1: owner's name and phone number. It's really fucking interesting and
- 16:42Speaker 1: it works really well.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Goes o Darren Brown on him.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and it ends up working. They get the store
- 16:49Speaker 1: owner's name and number from her, they call him, he
- 16:51Speaker 1: says he has no idea what they're talking about. They
- 16:54Speaker 1: send him the contract and he's like, that's not my
- 16:57Speaker 1: name on the contract, so have to honor it. But
- 17:01Speaker 1: they have video of the new owners telling the previous owner,
- 17:05Speaker 1: we're going to take care of that consignment, don't worry
- 17:07Speaker 1: about it. So now they're getting the run around that way.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Also, it's amazing how much of this stuff continues to
- 17:12Speaker 2: happen in the face of like conclusive evidence, like video
- 17:16Speaker 2: of exactly what the defense is saying, and.
- 17:19Speaker 1: It's because of the money dynamic. There's a famous story.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I don't remember who the woman in question is, but
- 17:29Speaker 1: there's a woman out there who either wrote a significant
- 17:32Speaker 1: portion of an Eric Clapton song or Eric Clapton just
- 17:36Speaker 1: stole one of her songs, and when she confronted him
- 17:39Speaker 1: about it, he said, you're a woman. You can't afford
- 17:42Speaker 1: to sue me.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Wow.
- 17:44Speaker 1: The only justice she's ever gotten is that that story
- 17:47Speaker 1: is out there now.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Eric Clapton, that is ice cold. Between this and the
- 17:51Speaker 2: racist stuff you're on thin Ice Clapton.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and the anti COVID stuff too.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't even know about that. Well, I think
- 17:57Speaker 2: we're all anti COVID, but.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Well, he was anti COVID vaccine because he got a
- 18:04Speaker 1: COVID shot and then his hand was numb for like
- 18:06Speaker 1: an hour, so he was like, this is tyranny. It's like,
- 18:09Speaker 1: shut the fuck up, oh bat So, Yeah, fuck Eric
- 18:12Speaker 1: Clapton and fuck bricks and minifigs because that's what they're
- 18:16Speaker 1: doing to everyone who asks about this lego set is basically,
- 18:22Speaker 1: can you afford to sue us if not fuck you.
- 18:24Speaker 1: That's what Josh tells Ben when he calls. He's like, yeah,
- 18:28Speaker 1: I guess you should just take me to court. And
- 18:31Speaker 1: so the next stunt they pull is to try and
- 18:35Speaker 1: get Bricks and Minifigs to sue them, because that will
- 18:38Speaker 1: be cheaper in terms of taking it to court. So
- 18:43Speaker 1: they basically start a company and steal bricks in Minifig's logo,
- 18:48Speaker 1: replace the sign outside this Bricks in Minifig's location with
- 18:53Speaker 1: their sign, and then set up a booth out front
- 18:56Speaker 1: and start selling merchandise with the Brick and Minifigs logo.
- 19:01Speaker 1: But it says bricks and Minifigs, we steal from old people.
- 19:06Speaker 1: And they're trying to get Bricks and Minifigs to sue
- 19:08Speaker 1: them for copyright violation.
- 19:11Speaker 2: One thing and another thing I love about the story
- 19:13Speaker 2: is it has kind of like a spy versus spy
- 19:16Speaker 2: type feeling to it, like it gets uh, there's there's
- 19:19Speaker 2: there's lots of goofy twists and turns. I love the
- 19:23Speaker 2: This is almost like a Nathan for You episode.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it definitely has those kind of vibes, like
- 19:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised if this guy gets a TV
- 19:32Speaker 1: show or at least has a documentary somewhere on a
- 19:35Speaker 1: legit streaming service at some point. It's pretty well done.
- 19:39Speaker 1: They also when they set up this company, they set
- 19:43Speaker 1: up a bunch of franchisees under them, so when people
- 19:48Speaker 1: come and ask about them stealing the name, they can
- 19:51Speaker 1: just be like, oh, you have to talk to the
- 19:52Speaker 1: franchise ease. And when they go talk to them the franchises,
- 19:56Speaker 1: you're like, you got to talk to corporate. So they're
- 19:58Speaker 1: basically doing all the same shit that Bricks and Minifigs
- 20:02Speaker 1: is doing to them, and it's really fucking fun to watch.
- 20:06Speaker 1: There's a point where they try and arrest him for
- 20:09Speaker 1: showing back up at the store, and right before the
- 20:12Speaker 1: police come, he sends a look alike wearing his clothes
- 20:17Speaker 1: to go be arrested for him. It's really fucking entertaining.
- 20:21Speaker 1: It's a fun watch.
- 20:22Speaker 2: That's basically a move this week's Annoying Anime reference.
- 20:29Speaker 1: They end up at one point they talk to the
- 20:32Speaker 1: CEO of Bricks and Minifigs a couple of times, and
- 20:37Speaker 1: at one point he realizes what they're doing. That they're
- 20:40Speaker 1: trying to get Bricks and Minifigs to sue them, and
- 20:43Speaker 1: the CEO in this interview, when it dawns on him
- 20:47Speaker 1: what's happening, he looks so fucking defeated. It's a really
- 20:51Speaker 1: great moment. He just looks like, fuck, you're doing the
- 20:54Speaker 1: same thing to us that we're Okay, I get it,
- 20:57Speaker 1: I get it. He actually calls them very clever. But
- 21:00Speaker 1: the problem is none of this shit is working. There's
- 21:03Speaker 1: no ramifications. They're not getting any justice with this Brian guy.
- 21:08Speaker 1: So the next thing they try, what is happening with
- 21:12Speaker 1: the police is whenever the police show up, they're like, hey,
- 21:15Speaker 1: this store stole two hundred thousand dollars from this guy,
- 21:18Speaker 1: and the police are like, that's a civil matter, it's
- 21:21Speaker 1: not criminal matter, so we can't get involved. So the
- 21:24Speaker 1: next stunt they pull is to try and get bricks
- 21:28Speaker 1: and minifigs to commit an actual crime. The lengths they
- 21:32Speaker 1: go to to pull this off, it's dedication I do
- 21:35Speaker 1: not have when it comes to my job. That's why
- 21:39Speaker 1: I don't make YouTube documentaries. I make podcasts. This dude
- 21:43Speaker 1: sets up an actual lottery according to all of these
- 21:48Speaker 1: state laws. This is a state sanctioned lottery.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I didn't know you could even make your own lottery.
- 21:54Speaker 2: That seems like, like, what can I make my own
- 21:56Speaker 2: street if I get some assphalt and some concrete, Can
- 21:59Speaker 2: I like make Connor Boulevard in place in the middle
- 22:02Speaker 2: of nowhere?
- 22:02Speaker 1: Even better? It turns out getting that approved takes a
- 22:07Speaker 1: long time, but you don't have to go through that
- 22:10Speaker 1: approval process if you're a nonprofit or religious organization. And
- 22:14Speaker 1: as part of one of his previous documentaries, this guy
- 22:19Speaker 1: set up a religion called Scientology Sucks. So as the
- 22:23Speaker 1: head of that religious organization, he was able to set
- 22:26Speaker 1: up a state sanctioned lottery really fast.
- 22:30Speaker 2: This isn't Nathan for you episode. They're calling back to
- 22:32Speaker 2: previous gags.
- 22:34Speaker 1: It really is. They set up this lottery and because
- 22:38Speaker 1: the contract this Brian guy signed when he sold his collection,
- 22:41Speaker 1: because that contract says you still own all of the
- 22:45Speaker 1: stuff you gave us. We're just selling it for you.
- 22:48Speaker 1: You can come back and get it at any time.
- 22:50Speaker 1: You still own it. Because he's got that contract that
- 22:53Speaker 1: says he owns it. They as part of this lottery,
- 22:56Speaker 1: auction off one of the sets that are at Bricks
- 23:00Speaker 1: and Minifigs, and when the family wins, they go to
- 23:05Speaker 1: Bricks and minifigs and are like, hey, we just sold
- 23:08Speaker 1: this thing in this lottery. You have to give it
- 23:10Speaker 1: to this family. If you don't, you're interfering in a
- 23:14Speaker 1: state sanctioned lottery and you're committing a Class B felony.
- 23:17Speaker 1: And they fucking refuse to give it back, so they
- 23:20Speaker 1: have just committed an actual crime.
- 23:23Speaker 2: This is like watching it like a Chinese key gong
- 23:26Speaker 2: master redirect somebody's energy and flip them over on their back.
- 23:30Speaker 1: The lengths they go to to try and get these
- 23:32Speaker 1: fucking legos back blows my goddamn mind.
- 23:35Speaker 2: You know, it's at a certain point it becomes about
- 23:37Speaker 2: the principle of the thing.
- 23:38Speaker 1: It really does seem like that's what it is. Nevertheless,
- 23:42Speaker 1: that still doesn't really work. When they show up to
- 23:46Speaker 1: have the store hand this over, they say no. They
- 23:48Speaker 1: kick everyone out, so they've committed a crime. They call
- 23:51Speaker 1: the police, and it seems like one cop they're talking
- 23:55Speaker 1: to is willing to help. He's like, all right, yeah,
- 23:59Speaker 1: it sounds like this is a legitimate crime. And then
- 24:02Speaker 1: another cop shows up whispers something in that guy's ear,
- 24:06Speaker 1: and then everything changes and the cops are like, you
- 24:09Speaker 1: got to leave your trespassing. We don't know anything about
- 24:12Speaker 1: a crime. They show them all of the paperwork and
- 24:16Speaker 1: everything that proves this is an actual crime, and the
- 24:19Speaker 1: police are like, we're going to arrest you if you
- 24:21Speaker 1: don't leave, And to his credit, this Ben guy is like,
- 24:24Speaker 1: arrest me, please, arrest me. I haven't done shit. Arrest
- 24:28Speaker 1: me now.
- 24:28Speaker 2: This guy's got balls of steel. It's pretty impressive.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Yeah, And he does not get arrested. The police just leave.
- 24:35Speaker 1: They leave without arresting anyone, even though an actual felony
- 24:39Speaker 1: has just been committed by this store, and so Josh,
- 24:44Speaker 1: the store owner, Ben calls him again. Josh refuses still
- 24:48Speaker 1: to give the collection back. They do another stunt where
- 24:51Speaker 1: they replace this location signs outside they had a sign
- 24:56Speaker 1: that says buy sell trade. The changes to buy steel trade.
- 25:00Speaker 1: That doesn't help. It doesn't prompt the store to sue
- 25:03Speaker 1: them at all. And once the store owner finds out
- 25:07Speaker 1: this is an actual crime now he basically starts begging
- 25:11Speaker 1: them to sue him, because once you sue then it's
- 25:14Speaker 1: back to being a civil matter and you can't prosecute
- 25:17Speaker 1: it as a crime. And so Ben is like, how
- 25:20Speaker 1: about this, We'll sue you, but if you lose, you
- 25:24Speaker 1: have to pay us double of what you owe us,
- 25:28Speaker 1: and if we lose, we don't have to you keep
- 25:31Speaker 1: the legos in everything. We're that confident. When we go
- 25:34Speaker 1: to court and the store owner doesn't like that, that
- 25:38Speaker 1: rattles him a little bit, and he's like, all right,
- 25:41Speaker 1: you know what, I'll give this guy his collection back.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I just need him to issue a public apology and
- 25:48Speaker 1: take down his Facebook post accusing us of stealing his collection.
- 25:53Speaker 1: And fortunately that guy is like, fuck that, I'm not
- 25:58Speaker 1: apologizing to the people they stole my dad's shit. I'm
- 26:02Speaker 1: not taking the Facebook post down. And he also points
- 26:05Speaker 1: out if I do that, they can take that to
- 26:08Speaker 1: court and prove that no crime was ever committed and
- 26:12Speaker 1: then they can just keep everything anyway. And it turns
- 26:14Speaker 1: out that's exactly what they were trying to do. They
- 26:17Speaker 1: were trying to get him to issue these apologies so
- 26:20Speaker 1: they could be like, see, we didn't do anything wrong.
- 26:23Speaker 1: We don't have to give anything back. So it was
- 26:25Speaker 1: just fucking shenanigans. If you can believe that.
- 26:28Speaker 2: God, if this was a question in a video game,
- 26:31Speaker 2: I would have given up like three like points ago,
- 26:34Speaker 2: Like fuck, I gotta go do another. I gotta go
- 26:36Speaker 2: get a sign that's a steal fucked just to.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Be able to prove that they weren't being honest about
- 26:43Speaker 1: what they would do if they got the apology video,
- 26:46Speaker 1: they deep faked an apology video. They had someone else
- 26:50Speaker 1: do the apology, and then basically, I guess had AI
- 26:54Speaker 1: make it look like Brian was the one apologizing, so
- 26:57Speaker 1: if it did ever get to court, they could be like,
- 27:00Speaker 1: that actually wasn't him. He didn't apologize for anything.
- 27:03Speaker 2: AI filter's really opened the door to a lot of
- 27:05Speaker 2: you know, fun shenanigans like this.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but there's also a point I mentioned. When they
- 27:11Speaker 1: did the steal their logo gambit, they replaced the sign
- 27:17Speaker 1: outside that store with their own sign, but they had
- 27:19Speaker 1: chat GPT tell them what dimensions they needed the sign
- 27:23Speaker 1: to be, and it was significantly smaller, like not even
- 27:27Speaker 1: close to the size they needed, so they ended up
- 27:30Speaker 1: just covering like a small part of the sign outside.
- 27:33Speaker 1: So AI fucked them over in that case. But when
- 27:36Speaker 1: they did the buy Steel Trade sign, they just measured
- 27:39Speaker 1: them themselves so that one worked tape measures one yeap
- 27:43Speaker 1: world ending Robot zero. So next Josh tells Ben he
- 27:49Speaker 1: has to go apologize to the store. Manager also if
- 27:53Speaker 1: they want this collection back. Ben is like, well, you're
- 27:56Speaker 1: just probably trying to get me arrested again, but sure,
- 27:58Speaker 1: I'll go try it out, and sure enough, the store
- 28:01Speaker 1: manager as soon as he shows up calls the police.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Then you mentioned this being like a Nathan for You episode.
- 28:08Speaker 1: That's when we find out that about a month before
- 28:12Speaker 1: all of this, Ben basically tricked this store manager into
- 28:17Speaker 1: signing a contract that says she owes him five thousand
- 28:21Speaker 1: dollars every time she calls the police on him. And
- 28:26Speaker 1: by this point she's called the police like six or
- 28:28Speaker 1: seven times. And the way they did it is they
- 28:31Speaker 1: just had a guy walk in with an Amazon box
- 28:34Speaker 1: and go, I have a delivery, amazing, and then he
- 28:37Speaker 1: also goes and I need you to sign this, and
- 28:40Speaker 1: she just grabs it and signs it, as if you
- 28:42Speaker 1: ever have to sign for a fucking Amazon package.
- 28:45Speaker 2: But it's also the kind of thing where it's so
- 28:47Speaker 2: inobtrusive you just don't even really think about it.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Yeah, And it turns out according to the law, like
- 28:54Speaker 1: it seems like it's kind of a gray area, but
- 28:56Speaker 1: if you sign something without reading it, that's on you.
- 29:00Speaker 1: You're supposed to read a contract if you sign it.
- 29:03Speaker 1: So he goes back to the store and it's like,
- 29:05Speaker 1: I had to break it to you, but you owe
- 29:06Speaker 1: me like thirty grand and if you call the police again,
- 29:10Speaker 1: you're gonna owe me another five thousand dollars. Nothing really
- 29:14Speaker 1: ever comes of that, but it is very funny that
- 29:18Speaker 1: it happens. It still doesn't get the collection back, but
- 29:21Speaker 1: it was just a fun sidebar.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I hope when all of a sudden done that they
- 29:25Speaker 2: get to enforce that clause.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Yeah. I hope people go to jail over this.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Yeah, some of these cops, I mean, the story is
- 29:33Speaker 2: already continuing after this, and some of these cops are
- 29:36Speaker 2: just like, why are you movement and then twisting his
- 29:39Speaker 2: arm behind his back and fucking it up. You know,
- 29:41Speaker 2: he wasn't even moving in the first place. It's like
- 29:44Speaker 2: textbook police brutality. Shit.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fucking wild. I don't know who should go
- 29:49Speaker 1: to I mean, the store owner should go to jail,
- 29:51Speaker 1: for sure. There's even a point after they tell the
- 29:54Speaker 1: store manager that she's been tricked into signing this contract,
- 29:57Speaker 1: they go back to the store owner and we're like, oh, okay,
- 30:00Speaker 1: well now you can't call the police on us, and
- 30:02Speaker 1: the store owner's story changes and now he's like, we
- 30:05Speaker 1: never got that collection, We never had it, No one
- 30:07Speaker 1: ever sold us those legos. And meanwhile he's on video saying, yeah,
- 30:11Speaker 1: we'll give him back if you just go apologize. And
- 30:13Speaker 1: now that he realizes this ploy to get this guy
- 30:17Speaker 1: arrested isn't gonna work, he changes his tactics again and
- 30:20Speaker 1: is like, we don't have it, never had it, And
- 30:22Speaker 1: that is when again this store owner is like, sue me,
- 30:27Speaker 1: just sue me, and Ben is finally like all right,
- 30:30Speaker 1: I'll sue you, and the store owner loses his shit,
- 30:33Speaker 1: Like you can tell he's panicking. He did not think
- 30:36Speaker 1: that this was gonna happen. What they end up doing
- 30:40Speaker 1: this ends up being another flashback because we see them
- 30:44Speaker 1: on the phone and the store owners like, yeah, sue me,
- 30:48Speaker 1: and Ben is like, all right, i'll sue you. We're
- 30:50Speaker 1: gonna serve the court papers today, and the store owners like,
- 30:53Speaker 1: you fucking dipshit. You cannot get a fucking lawsuit filed
- 30:58Speaker 1: and have court papers serve the same day, And this
- 31:02Speaker 1: Ben guy is like, all right. Watch it turns out again,
- 31:06Speaker 1: about a month before all of this, they concocted this
- 31:09Speaker 1: plan to take this to small claims court instead of
- 31:14Speaker 1: taking it to actual court, because small claims court you
- 31:17Speaker 1: don't have to pay shit really to file a lawsuit there.
- 31:20Speaker 1: It's very inexpensive. The problem is the max you can
- 31:24Speaker 1: sue for in small claims court is ten grand. So
- 31:27Speaker 1: this Brian guy is like, that's not enough. They only
- 31:29Speaker 1: two hundred thousand dollars. I'm not gonna settle for ten grand.
- 31:33Speaker 1: But you also cannot, according to the law, file multiple
- 31:38Speaker 1: small claims lawsuits for one crime. Multiple people can't collect
- 31:43Speaker 1: for the same crime. It's called claim splitting.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I thought that was when two prospectors get in the
- 31:48Speaker 2: fight over a tunnel full of goals.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I do think that is also probably a term called Yeah,
- 31:55Speaker 1: that sounds right.
- 31:56Speaker 2: I I ain't claim spitting with you, Henry.
- 32:00Speaker 1: So to get around both the ten thousand dollars limit
- 32:03Speaker 1: and the claim splitting thing, they basically run that lottery
- 32:07Speaker 1: gambit another nine times. They sell another nine items from
- 32:12Speaker 1: this collection, have the families show up and try to collect,
- 32:17Speaker 1: and when they aren't able to collect, they're like, all right,
- 32:20Speaker 1: now we have ten separate crimes. So they file ten
- 32:24Speaker 1: separate small claims lawsuits all on the same day, and
- 32:29Speaker 1: the day they were ready to serve those papers is
- 32:32Speaker 1: the same day he was on the phone with the
- 32:34Speaker 1: store owner. So when the store owner was like, you
- 32:37Speaker 1: can't serve court papers in a day, they had already
- 32:40Speaker 1: put it in motion like a month prior. He gives
- 32:44Speaker 1: them until the end of the day to return the
- 32:46Speaker 1: collection and he's like, if you don't, the court papers
- 32:49Speaker 1: are gonna come. They end up closing the store early,
- 32:52Speaker 1: but then as soon as they open the next day
- 32:54Speaker 1: they start filing court papers. It's very fun to watch.
- 32:58Speaker 2: This guy should be like a general or something. He's
- 33:01Speaker 2: his strategic ability and his forethought is really impressive.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they come up with some really creative means to
- 33:09Speaker 1: try and get justice for this guy, and not.
- 33:11Speaker 2: To mention finding all the legal legal loopholes in the
- 33:14Speaker 2: first place.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and not only that, but finding the legal loopholes
- 33:18Speaker 1: that could fuck up what they're doing, like the claim
- 33:21Speaker 1: splitting thing like that takes some research to know that
- 33:24Speaker 1: you can't do that.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I mean, they're they're working this thing like fred Astare.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's impressive work, it really is. And so in
- 33:32Speaker 1: between all this, they do a fun thing where they
- 33:35Speaker 1: go to this location and have a guy show up
- 33:38Speaker 1: with a fake Guinness Book of World Records award for
- 33:42Speaker 1: the most Legos stolen by one store location. I thought
- 33:47Speaker 1: that was fun.
- 33:48Speaker 2: You got to throw in a few cute ones, you know,
- 33:50Speaker 2: for the for the for YouTube.
- 33:51Speaker 1: The reason they did that is also fucking fascinating. He
- 33:56Speaker 1: was hoping that by doing that, by sending the fake
- 34:00Speaker 1: Guinness Book of World Records guide to the store, that
- 34:03Speaker 1: when the court papers started coming, they would think those
- 34:06Speaker 1: were faked two and that shit worked. They end up
- 34:09Speaker 1: getting served with ten different court cases, and because they
- 34:13Speaker 1: don't take it seriously, they just don't show up to court.
- 34:16Speaker 1: They never respond, they don't send anyone. So he just
- 34:20Speaker 1: gets to file emotion for default judgment and wins, which
- 34:23Speaker 1: that's the good news. The bad news is in response
- 34:27Speaker 1: to that, they just shut the location down that has
- 34:31Speaker 1: the lego collection in it permanently, so no one can
- 34:34Speaker 1: go in and get the legos. Which how does that
- 34:38Speaker 1: fucking work? That's trump shit there, Like, can't you go
- 34:42Speaker 1: back to court and be like, send someone in to
- 34:44Speaker 1: get our shit?
- 34:45Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, at what point do they pry the door
- 34:47Speaker 2: opens for you? I mean, it seems like it should
- 34:49Speaker 2: have happened three steps.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Ago, and I'm assuming it hasn't happened because no one
- 34:54Speaker 1: has mentioned that part to me. I've only seen this one.
- 34:56Speaker 1: I've only seen the first of these videos, which, by
- 34:59Speaker 1: the way, these videos are nice minutes.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Well, and I don't want to I don't want to
- 35:02Speaker 2: spoil too much, but the last I saw he was
- 35:04Speaker 2: in Mexico, so you know it's going great.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched, We probably watched maybe the same thing.
- 35:11Speaker 1: But he was reading an email that Bricks and Minifigs
- 35:15Speaker 1: had sent around to all of their franchises about this situation.
- 35:19Speaker 1: And he goes and as you can see, we're definitely
- 35:22Speaker 1: in America. And he's obviously standing in front of a
- 35:25Speaker 1: green screen and there's this gateway arch is behind him,
- 35:30Speaker 1: and he goes, we're in Saint Louis, Kansas City something.
- 35:33Speaker 1: You could see the arch. They were definitely in America,
- 35:35Speaker 1: like I think they were in Mexico. So yeah, Part
- 35:39Speaker 1: two of this video is on their Patreon, so we'll
- 35:41Speaker 1: probably never see it unless it's made public at some point.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, when you end up pulling a Sun
- 35:46Speaker 2: Dance kid, your fucking lego situation is getting serious.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and so yeah, I mean, I don't know what's
- 35:53Speaker 1: this guy's Patreon cost. I do really want to see
- 35:55Speaker 1: part two of this video. Maybe we'll cover it. Maybe
- 35:59Speaker 1: it'll be we'll cover it and put it on our Patreon.
- 36:03Speaker 1: That's the justice everyone deserves. But yeah, speaking of justice,
- 36:06Speaker 1: it seems like this Brian guy has not gotten any
- 36:10Speaker 1: so far, and his two hundred thousand dollars Star Wars
- 36:14Speaker 1: lego collection remains.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Locked up in at Large.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's locked in a franchise location in Utah that
- 36:22Speaker 1: is no longer opened.
- 36:23Speaker 2: I mean, all this over like the Gungan Submarine sets.
- 36:29Speaker 1: And like what now if you're just going to permanently
- 36:32Speaker 1: close the store and leave the collection in there forever now,
- 36:35Speaker 1: you're not going to make any money from it either.
- 36:36Speaker 1: You're just doing that out of spite. You're mad at
- 36:39Speaker 1: this guy that he got mad that you stole his collection.
- 36:41Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 36:42Speaker 2: Someone's got to go in there and get that inventory.
- 36:44Speaker 2: It doesn't make sense they're just like leave it in
- 36:46Speaker 2: a storefront. I mean if only, if not only because
- 36:49Speaker 2: someone's going to have to rent it out when they vacate, right, Yeah.
- 36:52Speaker 1: And I don't know, try this shit in La motherfuckers
- 36:55Speaker 1: will smash and grab that shit back in a goddamn heartbeat.
- 36:59Speaker 1: You're lucky here.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Yeah, you know. I driven around to La a Lot.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I've never seen a bricks and minifigs location.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I would have had no idea. Like, if you
- 37:09Speaker 1: asked me, what's the biggest Lego retailer in the country,
- 37:13Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 37:14Speaker 2: If you would have asked me, I would have said
- 37:15Speaker 2: the Legos story. I mean it seems obvious, right.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Yeah, isn't that where you go to sell your Lego collection?
- 37:21Speaker 2: I guess not go to Well, I get the day
- 37:23Speaker 2: deal in new product, and then there's like a secondary
- 37:26Speaker 2: market for you know, vintage stuff. But yeah, that's I
- 37:30Speaker 2: didn't know there was such a robust community of I
- 37:33Speaker 2: guess I should have figured.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I do enjoy the Fox reality competition show Lego Masters.
- 37:40Speaker 2: That is the quality show.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Will Arnett is a solid host. I love
- 37:44Speaker 1: brick Master Amy. It's tall, drink of water, and man,
- 37:48Speaker 1: the stuff people can do with Legos it is fucking insane,
- 37:52Speaker 1: including commit felonies to the tune of two hundred thousand
- 37:55Speaker 1: dollars in theft.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Fuck. I want to build a spaceship so bad right now?
- 37:59Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, have you ever, Oh you did have legos,
- 38:02Speaker 1: you said.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Right, yes, Oh yeah, I lost them in a breakup.
- 38:06Speaker 1: I only ever did one lego set when I was
- 38:08Speaker 1: a kid. I don't remember what it was, but I'm
- 38:10Speaker 1: sure it was space related. But I didn't hate it.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I just didn't have I don't think I have the patience.
- 38:14Speaker 2: To me, it's not so much about building what's on
- 38:16Speaker 2: the box. It's about taking all the parts and coming
- 38:19Speaker 2: up with something of your own. You know.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I could see that's That's like the whole.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Thing to me. I mean, it's cool. I build the
- 38:26Speaker 2: tie Fighter and I look at it for about five
- 38:28Speaker 2: minutes and I go, Okay, I'm gonna use these to
- 38:30Speaker 2: build something different.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Maybe we should go on Lego Masters.
- 38:33Speaker 2: I think we'd be a good team to completely INAPT
- 38:36Speaker 2: boobs who have only seen the TV program.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I barely ever touched the lego in my life.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Get me on there. I'm a fucking entertainer. Will win.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Well. I think our massive celebrity would probably be more
- 38:47Speaker 2: than enough.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, well, I mean we'd have to go on
- 38:50Speaker 1: Celebrity Lego Masters whenever that airs, and all our.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Money bloom cottorm experiment for some reason.
- 38:59Speaker 1: All our win go to charity. We're still broke a
- 39:03Speaker 1: whack cool.
- 39:04Speaker 2: That's right, we got to set up our own puppet charity.
- 39:07Speaker 2: We got to take a pager of this guy's book.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah, this guy's got the shit figured out. Yeah. I
- 39:11Speaker 1: wonder what it cost him to do all this. Goddamn.
- 39:15Speaker 1: I mean, he's got to be killing it in YouTube
- 39:17Speaker 1: revenue though, so I'm sure it's fine, but we'll linked
- 39:21Speaker 1: to all the videos. People should watch this. It is
- 39:23Speaker 1: a wild situation that seems like it is still brewing.
- 39:28Speaker 1: But it does seem like Bricks and Minifigs just stole
- 39:31Speaker 1: this guy's fucking lego collection unapologetically and they are sticking
- 39:37Speaker 1: to it, which it doesn't seem like enough money for
- 39:40Speaker 1: that two hundred thousand dollars.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Yeah to me, I mean to this is literally like
- 39:45Speaker 2: total war. Every resource from both sides is directed at
- 39:50Speaker 2: each other and it's to the death.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Yeah, for two hundred thousand dollars. Like, I get why
- 39:56Speaker 1: the Brian side of things is fighting so hard, But
- 40:00Speaker 1: Bricks and Minifigs, are you struggling that hard as a
- 40:04Speaker 1: company that giving up this two hundred thousand dollars is
- 40:06Speaker 1: going to bring you to your knees.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Just give the guy a shit back for that franchise.
- 40:10Speaker 2: I mean, that's I don't know. That sounds like if
- 40:12Speaker 2: you told me that was a year in sales for
- 40:13Speaker 2: a bricks and minifigs location, I would believe you.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but even then, just sell the shit, Just sell
- 40:19Speaker 1: it and split the money the way you normally do. So. Yeah,
- 40:22Speaker 1: I think that's our episode. We'll link to all these videos.
- 40:25Speaker 1: You should watch a shit, it's wild. What do we
- 40:29Speaker 1: have to plug before we get out of here? We
- 40:32Speaker 1: got lots of new shit happening, new podcasts coming, some
- 40:36Speaker 1: old podcast going away, you stop doing in your area,
- 40:39Speaker 1: lots of changes coming, so be on the lookout for that. Connor,
