- 0:00Hello. Welcome to the No God Coach
- 0:02Huddle for May 1st, 2025. Your
- 0:05two-minute play of the day for applying
- 0:08God's word in your life. So, let's
- 0:09huddle up and hear today's play from
- 0:11Ezekiel 33 that says, "Son of man, say
- 0:14to the Israelites, this is what you are
- 0:16saying. Our offenses and sins weigh us
- 0:19down, and we are wasting away because of
- 0:22them. How then can we live? Say to them,
- 0:25as surely as I live, declares the
- 0:27sovereign Lord. I take no pleasure in
- 0:30the death of the wicked, but rather that
- 0:32they turn from their ways and live.
- 0:35Turn, turn from your evil ways. Then you
- 0:38will die, not die. Why do you want to
- 0:41die, people of Israel? Therefore, son of
- 0:43man, say to your people, if someone who
- 0:46is righteous disobys, that person's
- 0:49former righteousness will count for
- 0:51nothing. And if someone who is wicked
- 0:53repents, that person's former wickedness
- 0:56will not bring condemnation. The
- 0:58righteous person who sins will not be
- 1:00allowed to live even though they were
- 1:03formerly
- 1:04righteous. You know, the brokenness of
- 1:07humanity proves the sinfulness, the
- 1:09rebellion against God that humanity now
- 1:12lives. It's a weight that can't be
- 1:14carried by anyone. We all suffer the
- 1:18result of our own sin, the sin of others
- 1:20and the sin of inherent in a world that
- 1:23causes disasters that destroy the lives
- 1:25of so many. This is why God has come
- 1:28into the world as one of us in Jesus the
- 1:30savior. The wages of sin are death and
- 1:33then judgment leading to condemnation
- 1:36and to eternal suffering. God who is
- 1:38just demands this but loves us so and so
- 1:41has come to us to save us from this
- 1:43horrible and hopeless end. Jesus came as
- 1:47a man through a woman though he was God
- 1:49in order to be fully man. Jesus lived a
- 1:52perfect life as well all of us are
- 1:54supposed to live. Jesus offered himself
- 1:57as a sacrifice to God exchanging his
- 2:00perfection to be appropriated to us for
- 2:03our sins and our rebellion. And so he
- 2:06was punished at the cross and Jesus rose
- 2:08from the dead proving his offering was
- 2:11acceptable. The exchange available and
- 2:13the promise of life in peace with God
- 2:16attainable. This exchange occurs when we
- 2:19repent. When we turn from our wicked
- 2:21ways, when we believe that Jesus's
- 2:24perfect life and perfect sacrifice are
- 2:27the only means for restoring us to peace
- 2:29with God. This exchange continues as we
- 2:32faithfully obey God all our days, not
- 2:35depending upon our religion or our own
- 2:37righteousness to save us. Were you
- 2:40baptized as a child? Did you go to
- 2:42church? Did you pray once for Jesus to
- 2:44forgive you? Do you now live your own
- 2:47way according to your own will, doing
- 2:49whatever is right in your own eyes?
- 2:51Repent, return, be restored, and obey
- 2:55everything Jesus commands so that you
- 2:57may live forever with God and all those
- 3:00who have loved him faithfully for what
- 3:02he has done to the end of their lives on
- 3:04this earth to be raised and live forever
- 3:07on the new verse.
