- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Uh-huh. I sure will. Good morning, everybody. Y'all
- 0:07Speaker 1: listening to The Voice. Come on, dig me now. One
- 0:12Speaker 1: and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man, God
- 0:15Speaker 1: is in the blessing business. I'm in the receiving line. Man,
- 0:21Speaker 1: that's a good feeling. I thank God for waking me
- 0:24Speaker 1: up in the mornings. I really, really do. I thank
- 0:28Speaker 1: God for the spirit that he wakes me up with
- 0:31Speaker 1: because I finally, but I finally figured it out. Such
- 0:35Speaker 1: a blessing that shouldn't be taken for granted. The fact
- 0:38Speaker 1: that you are up today, the fact that you just
- 0:41Speaker 1: got off work and you drive it home. The fact
- 0:43Speaker 1: that you got a job to come home from the
- 0:46Speaker 1: fact that you got a job to wake up to
- 0:49Speaker 1: whatever it is, the fact that you can see, think, hear, smell, walk, talk, rhyme, reason,
- 0:56Speaker 1: whatever it is. It's a blessing, man. I was talking
- 1:00Speaker 1: to a partner of mine last night and an analogy
- 1:03Speaker 1: came to me last night of what my life has
- 1:05Speaker 1: been like. Just going over my story with a friend
- 1:09Speaker 1: of mine of all the, some of the things I
- 1:11Speaker 1: had gone through and he never knew it because he said, man,
- 1:14Speaker 1: you never told me that we were just talking. One
- 1:18Speaker 1: of the things I remember and this kind of equated
- 1:21Speaker 1: to my life was when When I was a little boy,
- 1:24Speaker 1: I used to go to the store with my mom
- 1:29Speaker 1: and she would let me buy a jigsaw puzzle. Now,
- 1:34Speaker 1: for those of you, a jigsaw puzzle comes in a box.
- 1:37Speaker 1: There are no instructions. It just comes in a box.
- 1:42Speaker 1: And it's simple. You're going to dump the pieces out
- 1:45Speaker 1: in a pile and you're going to try to put
- 1:48Speaker 1: the pieces together until it looks like the picture that's
- 1:54Speaker 1: on the cover of the box. That's as simple as
- 1:58Speaker 1: it is. Here is the deal. I would select a
- 2:05Speaker 1: jigsaw puzzle based on the picture that I liked and
- 2:13Speaker 1: if I thought I could do it. Now, if the
- 2:17Speaker 1: picture looked too crazy, if it looked too intricate, I
- 2:21Speaker 1: didn't want that puzzle. You know, and the thing was,
- 2:25Speaker 1: back in the day, you got a jigsaw puzzle. You
- 2:27Speaker 1: had 100-piece puzzles, 400-piece puzzles. Man, then they say 1,000-piece puzzle.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You go, whew, ooh. So those were a little difficult
- 2:37Speaker 1: for me when I was a little boy. So I
- 2:39Speaker 1: didn't want that. As I got a little bit older,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I had more challenging puzzles, you know, 450, 500-piece puzzles.
- 2:51Speaker 1: But I always picked a picture of something I liked
- 2:55Speaker 1: so it's very simple you get the jigsaw puzzle you
- 2:58Speaker 1: get it home you open it up you dump it
- 3:00Speaker 1: out on the table you flip all the pieces over
- 3:04Speaker 1: so you can see them and then I would try
- 3:08Speaker 1: to sort them based on the colors on the box
- 3:10Speaker 1: if it was like a black section I take all
- 3:14Speaker 1: the black pieces and slide them over there if it
- 3:16Speaker 1: was some flowers I try to find all the pictures
- 3:19Speaker 1: with little Jigsaw pieces with the little floor and I
- 3:22Speaker 1: separate them. And then I start putting it together. And
- 3:25Speaker 1: the way I started was I try to build the
- 3:27Speaker 1: border first because I knew all the straight edges had
- 3:31Speaker 1: to be side by side at one point. And it
- 3:34Speaker 1: was funny, man, because it's related to my life. I
- 3:37Speaker 1: would start putting the pieces together of the picture I
- 3:42Speaker 1: saw that I liked. And that would be my picture.
- 3:47Speaker 1: A lot of people didn't like jigsaw puzzles. As a
- 3:51Speaker 1: matter of fact, none of the boys on the street
- 3:53Speaker 1: like jigsaw puzzles but me because they just didn't want
- 3:58Speaker 1: to go through the intricate details of figuring that out,
- 4:01Speaker 1: really go outside and run or something like that. And
- 4:04Speaker 1: so what happened was, as I got older, I wanted
- 4:09Speaker 1: more difficult and challenging puzzles. but I wouldn't go too far.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I wanted some nice stuff to happen. I had a
- 4:16Speaker 1: picture of what I wanted for my life, but I
- 4:19Speaker 1: didn't want to go too far because it was so
- 4:22Speaker 1: challenging and difficult. I couldn't see myself with all of that.
- 4:26Speaker 1: And I didn't have the time, the knowledge, the expertise,
- 4:30Speaker 1: the figure and all the intricate details. And I discovered
- 4:34Speaker 1: something when I was talking last night. That's what happens
- 4:39Speaker 1: in life to a lot of people. You get bogged
- 4:42Speaker 1: down with the details of coming up and trying to
- 4:45Speaker 1: create the picture that you want for yourself. You put
- 4:48Speaker 1: it to the side. You say, oh, that puzzle crazy.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Next thing you know, you crumble it up and put
- 4:53Speaker 1: it back in the box. So you go halfway and
- 4:55Speaker 1: you get stuck and you get to the part where
- 4:57Speaker 1: it ain't a lot of different colors. It's all the same.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And that's a little bit more challenging. So that may
- 5:02Speaker 1: stop you. But it's somewhere in the jigsaw puzzle that
- 5:05Speaker 1: it gets very difficult and challenging. The bigger the picture
- 5:09Speaker 1: you want. But then what will happen in your life
- 5:14Speaker 1: is just like what will happen in a jigsaw. Once
- 5:17Speaker 1: you get comfortable and you don't mind the challenge, you
- 5:22Speaker 1: could get a bigger picture. But here's the key to it, though.
- 5:27Speaker 1: If you put God in your mix, see, the picture
- 5:31Speaker 1: that I saw for myself as a boy is not
- 5:34Speaker 1: the picture that has happened to me as a man.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Because along the way from boyhood to manhood, from the
- 5:42Speaker 1: time I was 10, you understand, what happened along the
- 5:45Speaker 1: ride in there was I started putting God in the mix.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And so now the picture that I have now is
- 5:53Speaker 1: not the picture I saw. It's the picture that God saw.
- 5:58Speaker 1: So what I'm saying, this analogy is the picture you
- 6:02Speaker 1: have may be difficult to complete. But if you were
- 6:06Speaker 1: to include God in your life, put God in your
- 6:10Speaker 1: jigsaw puzzle, God will not only help you complete the
- 6:15Speaker 1: puzzle and he gonna add some pieces. He gonna do
- 6:19Speaker 1: some favors. He gonna show some mercy and you gonna
- 6:22Speaker 1: look up and the picture that you're able to end
- 6:25Speaker 1: up with will be totally different and much more complete,
- 6:29Speaker 1: much more beautiful, a bigger picture than the one you
- 6:31Speaker 1: had before. Because there's no way that I could have
- 6:34Speaker 1: sought a life that I have today. back when I
- 6:37Speaker 1: was a boy. And it amazes me when I hear
- 6:40Speaker 1: people say, I always saw this for myself. I didn't
- 6:44Speaker 1: do that. I didn't quite see this for myself. I
- 6:46Speaker 1: don't know how you can have the ability to see
- 6:49Speaker 1: what God really has for you. But man, he's a
- 6:52Speaker 1: masterful jigsaw man. He's an incredible puzzle completer. So if
- 6:57Speaker 1: you got a puzzle that's challenging to you, maybe you
- 7:00Speaker 1: need to see what's the picture that God has for
- 7:03Speaker 1: your life. If God were in your life, If you
- 7:08Speaker 1: completed the puzzle, what would it look like? It'll be
- 7:12Speaker 1: a far more extensive puzzle and it will be a
- 7:15Speaker 1: far more beautiful piece of scenery than you could have
- 7:18Speaker 1: ever imagined. Tears come in my eyes because I can't
- 7:22Speaker 1: believe God bought me this far. I can't believe that
- 7:26Speaker 1: when I opened up and accepted him and started talking
- 7:28Speaker 1: to him, that he would add all these pieces to
- 7:31Speaker 1: my GXR puzzle. And my GXR puzzle would look like this.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And I can tell you, I ain't got a whole
- 7:37Speaker 1: lot to do with what I done turned into. It's
- 7:41Speaker 1: mostly favor and blessings and grace and mercy of God.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And I looked up and I just got a much
- 7:46Speaker 1: bigger picture. Jigsaw puzzle completed. And guess what? He ain't
- 7:51Speaker 1: through with me yet. That's what's amazing and exciting about
- 7:54Speaker 1: a relationship with God. God could take your jigsaw puzzle
- 7:58Speaker 1: and fix it. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
