- 0:12Listen in as you hear some of the stories of the people
- 0:14getting there and come join the flight prep group.
- 0:16Hey guys, welcome to episode podcast episode 135.
- 0:21I'm titling this one Confidence in uncertainty.
- 0:25I wanted to start out with some things that are making me really
- 0:31happy right now during this holiday season and in the month
- 0:35of December. Usually this is the month where
- 0:40I'm a little bit of a Debbie Downer.
- 0:42I still am the person who waits until the last week to start
- 0:47buying Christmas presents. I know I'm terrible.
- 0:52OK, Sorry I got cut off then what I was thinking about OK,
- 0:56sorry I got cut off then what I was thinking about in years past
- 1:02years. And one thing I'm just going to
- 1:06give you guys a window into a little bit about me too and
- 1:10share with you some things that are making me really happy right
- 1:14now is one thing is my kids are really into Stranger Things and
- 1:20I know I just never got on board with it.
- 1:23I don't know why. I think I started watching maybe
- 1:26like 1 episode of Stranger Things and I just, I don't know,
- 1:31I wasn't hooked. It just didn't entertain me,
- 1:33which is weird because I like sci-fi things.
- 1:36But as you guys know who are into it, this is the last and
- 1:40final season, season 5, and they just released 4 episodes on
- 1:45Thanksgiving. And so anyway, Long story short,
- 1:49my kids are like, mom, this is the last and final episode.
- 1:52You need to get on board. I think you're going to really
- 1:54like it. You really like sci-fi.
- 1:55So I'm like, OK, so no joke, in one week, last week, I dedicated
- 2:01myself to watching all of the seasons, including the last four
- 2:07episodes. So I watched all Four Seasons,
- 2:10which had like 8 or 9 episodes in each season and then the last
- 2:15four that they just released on Thanksgiving.
- 2:17I spent a lot of time on my couch.
- 2:19But do you know what? It made me so happy.
- 2:21I really loved getting into the show.
- 2:24I love to being able to talk to about with my kids and I love
- 2:27that it's going to be releasing all the rest of the final
- 2:30episodes by the end of this month.
- 2:32So I wanted to share that with you.
- 2:35Another thing that's making me super happy right now is Diet
- 2:40Coke. I love Diet Coke, but I don't
- 2:42know, for those of you Diet Coke fans, and it might just be that
- 2:46you can get him at Costco, I'm not sure.
- 2:48But Santa is on Diet Coke right now.
- 2:49So it's another thing that's making me really happy.
- 2:51And like the third thing that I don't usually do is listen to
- 2:55holiday music. I'm listening to it all the time
- 2:59when I'm in the car, when I'm with my kids, when I'm doing
- 3:02laundry, all the time. So I wanted to give you a little
- 3:06window into the world of what's making me happy right now.
- 3:10And what I've been thinking about with these podcast
- 3:12episodes is I want this to be like we're sitting down across
- 3:16the table. We're having a conversation with
- 3:18each other. I have a friend that I get
- 3:21together with on a pretty regular basis.
- 3:23At least once a month. We just try to catch up with
- 3:25each other's lives and find out what's going on with our kids
- 3:28and her kids. And so I thought about like, I
- 3:32want every week's episode to be like that with you.
- 3:35I think about just sitting across the table having dinner
- 3:39with you and having this conversation.
- 3:42And what I'm thinking about bringing to each of these
- 3:45episodes is something that I found valuable both as a coach
- 3:50and as a healthcare worker and 1st responder.
- 3:52And what kind of might help ignite you as you are working
- 3:56your shifts and having some of these experiences.
- 3:59And so I really am curating and thinking about these topics that
- 4:05I want to bring to you and talk to you each week.
- 4:08OK. So this week for Episode 135, I
- 4:11want to talk about confidence and uncertainty.
- 4:14This is actually the very first topic that we talked about in
- 4:18the shift coaching group. This is for healthcare workers
- 4:21and 1st responders. I have about 19 people in the
- 4:23group and this is what we've discussed on our very first
- 4:26session together. We talked about how do we create
- 4:31confidence in uncertainty? How do we create confidence for
- 4:36a future that we're creating? How do we create confidence and
- 4:39a new identity that we're stepping into?
- 4:42How do we create confidence in a new role or a new department
- 4:46that we're going to work? We have this belief as human
- 4:49beings with a brain that we can't be confident about
- 4:52something until we have enough time and experience or until
- 4:56we've done it. But this is not true.
- 4:59And also we have this belief that we are only capable of
- 5:04achieving something if we've done it in our past.
- 5:08And our brain just likes to do all kinds of digging and
- 5:11searching for, OK, if I've done this in the past, then I can
- 5:14feel confident about it. Or if I didn't complete this in
- 5:17the past, then I'm probably not going to complete this for the
- 5:19future. And that limits us so much
- 5:22because then we're limited by what we've done in our past or
- 5:25what we've created in our past to create what our future is
- 5:28going to hold. And this great thing as human
- 5:31beings is that we have the capacity to do and be whatever
- 5:36we want and create that person. I can tell you with all
- 5:39sincerity now you know, retiring from flight nursing and nursing
- 5:44in general, I created a life that I've wanted, that I wanted
- 5:49four years ago when I or three years ago when I left flight
- 5:52nursing and nursing in general. I wanted to create a life with
- 5:56more time freedom where I could work and do what I love, help
- 6:00healthcare workers and 1st responders in this mental
- 6:02mindset capacity, help more people get into flight, but also
- 6:06work around my kids schedules. Like I knew they were getting
- 6:08older. I knew my three older ones going
- 6:10to be moving out and then next couple years.
- 6:12And so I wanted that time freedom that I never had before,
- 6:15especially working 48 to 72 hours a week in 2 to 324 hour
- 6:20shifts. And so I had to think about what
- 6:25do I want five years from now? And, and when I told myself that
- 6:28I knew what I wanted five years from now was time freedom to
- 6:32visit my kids at college, maybe potentially visit them as they
- 6:38started to have girlfriends and boyfriends and just have more
- 6:42time freedom. And so to create that future
- 6:45four years ago or three years ago when I left flight, I had to
- 6:49really think about becoming that future me.
- 6:53And I couldn't limit myself to what I had done in the past,
- 6:56otherwise I would have never created it because I've never
- 6:58done this before. I've worked healthcare for the
- 7:01last 15 years. And so this is what I want to
- 7:05talk to you about today is how do we step into confidence?
- 7:09How do we create certainty for our future?
- 7:13And I'm going to teach you the steps that I walk myself through
- 7:16as I do this. I have been thinking about this
- 7:20process a lot because as most of you guys know, nursing was my
- 7:23second career and then life coaching is my third.
- 7:27And I graduated UC Davis with a bachelor's in communications
- 7:34with an emphasis in broadcast journalism.
- 7:36Thought I wanted to go into that.
- 7:37I worked for an NBC affiliate for a little while and I hated
- 7:40it. I hated the hours, I hated the
- 7:42pay. I eventually went into banking
- 7:44and when I was in banking, that's when I had my twins.
- 7:47So I had three kids under the age of 2.
- 7:50I'd already had my oldest and I was like, what can I do as a
- 7:54career that feels fulfilling? And also I can spend and make
- 7:57the most out of having the most time with my kids, be a mom, and
- 8:01also have a job that I deeply desired going to.
- 8:03And that's when I decided to go to nursing school.
- 8:05So I jumped into that and then I found coaching within while I
- 8:11was a nurse, while I was a flight nurse.
- 8:12And so and then jumped into that new entity.
- 8:14And I've thought to myself, what's helped me create
- 8:17confidence with each of those jumps?
- 8:18Because we all know people who have stayed in professions their
- 8:22whole life, even if they've hated it because they feel
- 8:26stuck. And I've just never allowed
- 8:28myself to feel that way. So I started asking myself,
- 8:31what's the process that I take my myself through?
- 8:35And it really comes down to I've just decided ahead of time that
- 8:38I can be confident in uncertain situations, that I can be
- 8:41confident in something that I've never done before because I can
- 8:43grow into becoming capable in knowing how to do it.
- 8:46I'm going to figure it out. I know that's like a thought you
- 8:49guys have heard from me a lot is I'm going to figure this out.
- 8:53So I'm going to teach you the process that I walk myself
- 8:56through and ask you some questions that might help you as
- 9:00you're navigating uncertainty. As you're navigating what am I
- 9:05wanting out of the future? How do I go out there and create
- 9:07it? And then how do I create
- 9:08confidence in taking steps forward towards it?
- 9:11OK, I want to preface this with this is the thought that I have
- 9:18had to create what I want. You are who you are by the
- 9:24future you are pulled by, meaning a lot of people spend a
- 9:29lot of time with past and what they've been able to accomplish
- 9:33in the past, like I said before, to what they're capable of.
- 9:36But when I think about what I want to do, I create in my mind,
- 9:40where's the future that I want to go?
- 9:43And then I pull myself from it and I create in the present.
- 9:46Now, if I've created that future working backwards, what are some
- 9:50of the things that I would start doing now?
- 9:52And that's really ultimately how I made the decision to go full
- 9:55into being a life coach is I said, where do I want to be in
- 9:59five years? I want to have time, freedom.
- 10:00I want to spend time with my kids, eventually my grandkids
- 10:03and as my kids are starting to move out.
- 10:05And so I really started thinking, well, what are some of
- 10:08the decisions that I have to make now in my present to start
- 10:11creating that? And that was really to retire
- 10:13and leave flight nursing totally so that I could go all in as
- 10:17being a coach. And so you are who you are by
- 10:20the future you are pulled by. Decide now what is the future
- 10:24that you want and then work yourself backwards and taking
- 10:27those steps. Now, This is why creating goals
- 10:30is so important. I've always been a goal setter.
- 10:32Most of the people that I work with are high goal setters.
- 10:34But here's the big difference. I don't just create goals, I
- 10:38create big ones, not small ones, big ones, ones that are going to
- 10:42change me, ones that I have to be like, you know, I want to be
- 10:47able to have my own time freedom as an entrepreneur.
- 10:49And I've never done that before. I'm the first person in my
- 10:52family who's ever done it before.
- 10:54If I don't have an example that I can go by, how do I create
- 10:57that? I have to be willing to create a
- 10:58big goal. And I did tell myself like, I
- 11:02want to create a program and I want to coach, you know, all
- 11:06these people so that I can create this goal for myself.
- 11:09And so it's going to require you to make some big goals because
- 11:12here's the thing, if you make a small little tiny incremental
- 11:15goals, it's not going to force you to change.
- 11:18Big goals are the ones that change you.
- 11:20It forces you to step into person that you've never been
- 11:22before and be a different identity.
- 11:25Big goals require you to think different, to be different.
- 11:29The same thoughts that I've had about myself to get to where I
- 11:34am now will not be the same thoughts that are going to get
- 11:37me where I want to be in five years.
- 11:40And so now that I've really accomplished having a full time
- 11:45coaching business, having 100 people inside my flight prep
- 11:49Academy now having coached hundreds of people one-on-one
- 11:55and, and with these subsets of problems and issues, like now
- 11:59I'm at that goal that I made, you know, that I set for myself
- 12:03four years ago. And so now I need to create new
- 12:05ones. And creating big new goals is
- 12:08also going to require me to think differently.
- 12:10So this thought that I keep telling you guys, like I'm
- 12:12always going to figure it out. I love this thought.
- 12:15But also that thought isn't going to get me to the next
- 12:18level of a war. I want to be in the next 5 years
- 12:20because in the next 5 years, I want to help thousands of
- 12:23people. I want to have thousands of
- 12:25people get in the flat. I want to have thousands of
- 12:27healthcare workers and 1st responders create more
- 12:29confidence in their life. Like I want that.
- 12:32I want every person who goes to their shift to be so confident
- 12:36that they're like, I'm the person that's here today and I'm
- 12:39the person that's going to help these patients that walk through
- 12:41that door or I'm the person that's going to help these
- 12:43people. When I land at that traffic
- 12:46accident, it's, it's me and my team and I'm confident in that.
- 12:50Like that's what I want. And so to create that, I'm going
- 12:54to have to create bigger goals and think of different thoughts
- 12:59about myself. And so I want to just reiterate,
- 13:03you are who you are by the future you are pulled by.
- 13:05Also, the past does not determine our present.
- 13:08Our future determines our present.
- 13:10So just something to remember with everything that I've said
- 13:13is we can't keep looking to our past of our capability or if
- 13:16we've done it before because that's just not what's going to
- 13:19grow us into the person we want to be.
- 13:21We got to be thinking about where's the future we want to
- 13:23go? And then what is that person
- 13:26thinking who's accomplished now that big goal?
- 13:28And I can 100% say, you guys, this is how I got here before
- 13:32the five years. This is how I have achieved what
- 13:34I wanted to in my business and really helping this many people
- 13:38because I've gone to that person and said in five years, where do
- 13:42I want to be? And I've really like established
- 13:44those thoughts and really tried to step into that person.
- 13:47So what happens when we try to create confidence and
- 13:51uncertainty is or unknown is we want to go to the last most
- 13:55confident version of ourselves. So let me give you an example of
- 14:00this in flight. I see this all the time after I
- 14:03help people get hired into flight.
- 14:04There's this period of transition when you're becoming
- 14:08a flight nurse and stepping into a new identity that you've never
- 14:11been before where you're like, I don't know why this is
- 14:13happening. This isn't a common example I
- 14:15hear. I don't know why this is
- 14:16happening. I'm the type of person that gets
- 14:18along with everybody and everybody likes me.
- 14:19And then all the sudden I have people who don't like me and
- 14:22aren't agreeing with me. Like, what am I doing wrong?
- 14:26And I tell them and then they say, well, maybe I just maybe I
- 14:29just need to go back to being an ER nurse, or maybe I just need
- 14:32to go back to being a critical care nurse.
- 14:34And the reason why they want to go back to that person is
- 14:36because that's the last, most confident version of themselves.
- 14:40It's uncomfortable to step into something new.
- 14:42It's uncomfortable to establish a new identity.
- 14:45And so what's comfortable for us is we want to go to the last
- 14:48version of ourselves that was confident.
- 14:51And so this is important to recognize, this is important to
- 14:55know because when you're stepping into doing something
- 15:00new, imposter syndrome is going to come up.
- 15:03You're going to feel uncertain. And I just want to point this
- 15:05out because this is the point in time where you want to tell
- 15:07yourself, oh, this is normal. This is just me wanting to
- 15:12gravitate towards the last, most confident version of myself.
- 15:16But you have an opportunity now to grow confidence and
- 15:19uncertainty here. OK, so now that we've uncovered
- 15:23a little bit of what your brain might be telling you, I want to
- 15:28offer you the steps that I take myself through in this process
- 15:32as I'm creating a new identity. And I've been thinking this a
- 15:34lot because now I'm thinking about the next five year version
- 15:39of myself and and where I want to be.
- 15:42We have an opportunity to be confident in who we are becoming
- 15:47in the identity and the future we are stepping into.
- 15:50So these I've been really, I took some time to think about
- 15:54these and I wanted to make it short and concise.
- 15:56So I'm going to talk about the four steps that I take myself
- 15:59through. And then I'm going to talk to
- 16:00you about the questions within these steps that I asked myself.
- 16:04And I'm going to pause and give you guys an opportunity to ask
- 16:07yourself these questions as well.
- 16:10So this is kind of the four steps that I go through as I'm
- 16:14creating a new identity, as I'm stepping into growing confidence
- 16:17and capability in in where I want to go into the future and
- 16:23in uncertain situations where I'm stepping into a new
- 16:25identity. OK, so number one, Step 1, you
- 16:30want to get grounded in your values.
- 16:32You want to know what is it that you value and be really clear
- 16:38about it. For me, I know my values.
- 16:41This is what I'm really clear about.
- 16:42The top three things that I value is honesty, transparency,
- 16:46and integrity. That's what I've ran my life by
- 16:50as I was a young kid, as I was a nurse, as I was a flight nurse,
- 16:55as now I am as an entrepreneur. Integrity, honesty and
- 16:58transparency are something that I deeply, deeply value.
- 17:02And so get really clear. What are the things that you
- 17:05value? What, what are the attributes
- 17:08about yourself that you value? What do you value in other
- 17:11people? What do you value?
- 17:15And find out what those are. OK #2 Step 2, Create trust
- 17:21within yourself. Know what it's like to deeply
- 17:24trust yourself and your process you take yourself through #3 You
- 17:31guys, this is a big one that my coach, my business coach has
- 17:34taught me this year. My business coach is Stacey
- 17:37Bayman. And what she really teaches me
- 17:40is desire. You got to have desire.
- 17:45Desire is so important because on the days where maybe you're
- 17:50not motivated or you feel like you have like grasping for
- 17:53motivation. If you desire something, then
- 17:56you don't need motivation. If you have your why and you
- 17:59deeply desire to to do the thing, become the person, get to
- 18:04flight nursing, be the entrepreneur, then when you
- 18:07ingrain that desire, OK, sorry, I got cut off.
- 18:11But what I was thinking about for the third one is when you
- 18:14have desire, then you don't need motivation.
- 18:20So deeply anchoring and desire. And I'm going to talk about the
- 18:23questions for each of these. Coming up along with desire is
- 18:26giving your time, yourself time to think, quieting your
- 18:30surroundings, turning off your devices, turning off the TV, and
- 18:35just giving yourself time to think about what you really
- 18:39want, what you really desire. OK, this is a four step and then
- 18:43I'm going to talk to you about questions for each of them.
- 18:46The four step is being willing to feel any emotion, not fearing
- 18:52the emotion that's going to come up, but expecting it to come.
- 18:55OK, those are the four steps. Be grounded in your values.
- 18:59Number one, creating trust within yourself.
- 19:01Number 23, desire over motivation and giving yourself
- 19:05time to super think. And then four, being willing to
- 19:07feel any emotion, not fearing it, but expecting it to come up
- 19:11as you're stepping into an uncertainty and new identity.
- 19:14OK, this are the questions that go with each step that I ask
- 19:19myself and I think will be really value valuable for you to
- 19:22think about too. OK, number one, this one's
- 19:25pretty clear. Step one, what is it that I
- 19:29value? Ask yourself what that is.
- 19:32Again, for me, integrity, honesty, transparency, Those are
- 19:35the three things I value. Those are the three things I'm
- 19:37looking for in relationships that I have in my life and
- 19:41people that I get close to. Like this is I, I look for this
- 19:47and people that come and join my programs like I do, these are
- 19:50things that I'm looking for. So get clear.
- 19:53Ask yourself, what is it that I value #2 Step 2.
- 19:57Here are some questions with Step 2.
- 20:01Step 2 is finding the process, trusting yourself.
- 20:05So some questions I ask myself is when I'm listening to my gut
- 20:09or my intuition, what does that feel like for me?
- 20:14What is my process that I take myself through when I'm thinking
- 20:18about trusting my gut and my intuition, For example, there's
- 20:22lots of times, and this took a lot of trial and error and a lot
- 20:25of mistakes in my critical care game, my critical care career.
- 20:32The monitor can look great, the patient can look fine, labs can
- 20:36look perfect. There's that little part of me
- 20:39that's like something's going to go wrong.
- 20:41That's my gut. That's my intuition.
- 20:43That's how I listen to it. It's like the little Spidey
- 20:45sense inside of me where it's like, oh, I just feel like
- 20:48something's going to go wrong. I've learned to listen to that
- 20:50over time. And so that's, that's what I
- 20:54I've honed in, I've practiced. Ask yourself what that is for
- 20:57you. OK, some questions that go along
- 21:00with this is figuring out your intuition in your gut is who do
- 21:04I want to be in uncertain situations?
- 21:09Get really clear about this. You guys do.
- 21:10Who do you want to be in uncertain situations?
- 21:12For me, in uncertain situations, I want to be the calm in the
- 21:15storm. I want to be the one that always
- 21:20tells myself if I don't know it, I know exactly who I'm going to
- 21:24ask to figure it out, right? You know exactly the resource.
- 21:27I'm going to keep asking. I'm going to ask a lot of
- 21:29questions. I'm going to do a lot of
- 21:30research. I'm going to be willing to also
- 21:33say in uncertain situations, I don't know this, can you explain
- 21:37this to me? I'm that person.
- 21:39That's who I want to be in uncertainty.
- 21:41I don't want to be the person this has been me in the past.
- 21:44I don't want to be the person who's reactionary, starts to
- 21:46blame other people, becomes a victim.
- 21:48I know that's not who I want to be.
- 21:50So get really clear of who do you want to be in uncertainty.
- 21:54And sometimes if you don't know the answer to this, it starts
- 21:57with asking yourself what are you certain of?
- 22:01And when I ask myself what am I certain of?
- 22:05I am certain that I know that I will keep asking until I find an
- 22:10answer. I'm certain that I know I'm
- 22:13willing to ask the tough questions even if it makes that
- 22:16person uncomfortable that I'm asking.
- 22:18I'm certain that I know I will not take no for an answer if I
- 22:22know I need to get it for my patient, that's what I'm certain
- 22:25of. And so maybe if, if you don't
- 22:27know how to answer, who do I want to be?
- 22:28And then certain, maybe you start with, well, what am I
- 22:30certain of? OK, this is step three.
- 22:34What do I desire? Again, remembering desire
- 22:38overrides motivation. This is the third one.
- 22:42What do I desire? That's your question.
- 22:44What do I if I deeply quiet the noise, if I give myself to time
- 22:49to think with nothing going on, no TV, no phone, no Internet, no
- 22:55ChatGPT, no any of those things. What do I desire in my life?
- 23:01What do I desire in this world? What do I desire in five years?
- 23:05What do I desire in 10 years if I didn't limit myself?
- 23:08Really spend time with answering that question and don't judge
- 23:11yourself for what comes up. You know, you guys, I, I told my
- 23:15husband when we first got married, I knew I wanted to be a
- 23:17workhorse. I knew I would deeply desired to
- 23:20work and help other people. And you know, just to I, I felt
- 23:26really good working. I'd worked growing up and I
- 23:30just, I really, I felt good in that.
- 23:32So I told him that. But five years ago, I, my desire
- 23:37changed. I really wanted to be with my
- 23:39kids before they moved out. And with 0 judgement on
- 23:43yourself, you know, Yeah, I really wanted that for a long
- 23:47time. But now can it be OK that 35
- 23:51years later, I don't want it anymore?
- 23:54And just really allowing yourself to to ask yourself what
- 23:57you desire, even if it's a totally different than maybe
- 24:00what it was last year, OK #4 is being willing to feel any
- 24:04emotion. So these are the questions I
- 24:06have for this. It's going to require three
- 24:09emotions, both negative and positive for you to become the
- 24:12next version of yourself. And I say 3 because I don't want
- 24:15to just give you give ourselves one.
- 24:17I want to talk about like what are the three emotions?
- 24:20So three negative emotions and three positive emotions.
- 24:25When I step into this new identity or when I step into
- 24:27where I want to be in the future or uncertain situations, what
- 24:31are three negative emotions that I know I'm going to feel?
- 24:35For example, for me, I know I'm going to feel doubt, fear and
- 24:40imposter syndrome. Those are three negative
- 24:43emotions that I know as I step into what I want in the next 5
- 24:46years, those are three that are going to come up for me.
- 24:49So with fear, doubt and imposter syndrome, the follow up question
- 24:53for this is what are the three positive emotions required to
- 24:57outweigh those? Now here's what I want to tell
- 25:00you. Is that OK?
- 25:02You can pick calm, peace, certain, but calm peace and
- 25:10certain. Sometimes if your negative
- 25:12emotion is like fear for example, we can't get to calm
- 25:18and peace. So your 3 positive emotions have
- 25:21to be able to outweigh the three negative ones that you picked.
- 25:24So for example, I think one of my positive emotions that I have
- 25:30to pick to help fear, doubt, an imposter syndrome is grit.
- 25:34I have to have grit for one of them.
- 25:36My second one that I know I have to have is courage.
- 25:41I want to get to calm and grounded and certain.
- 25:43But you know what? I don't think those three things
- 25:46are going to outweigh the fear, the doubt and of imposter
- 25:50syndrome. So I know grit, courage and
- 25:56confidence is going to be my third one or what's going to
- 26:00help outright weigh the three. So you want to pick 3 positive
- 26:03emotions that are going to definitely outweigh some of
- 26:05these negative. Now, when I say outweigh, I
- 26:07don't mean you're not going to experience the negative ones.
- 26:09I just say the when you're generating these positive ones,
- 26:13they got to be bigger than the negative ones that you're
- 26:16feeling sometimes and they got to be.
- 26:18And for me, grit is like encourage or like help, help
- 26:21motivate me and move me when I'm experiencing those.
- 26:24So it's being willing to feel those three negative emotions,
- 26:27not fear and expect them and name them.
- 26:30Be real with yourself. What does it feel like for you
- 26:32and your body when you experience those?
- 26:33And then what are the three positive emotions that you're
- 26:35going to need to generate to step into that new identity?
- 26:38It's going to require deciding and making decisions ahead of
- 26:41time. I am going to be talking about
- 26:45this on another podcast episode, but you want to be a good
- 26:50decision maker. And then one of the thing that I
- 26:54want to offer, just like I said last week, if you caught last
- 26:57week's episode, is I know these four steps seem really simple,
- 27:01but sometimes they're the hardest part and you want to
- 27:03practice getting into momentum. You want to practice again,
- 27:06putting that car into gear. You can't go from neutral to 5th
- 27:10gear. And sometimes we try to do that
- 27:12as we try to manhandle, handle our goals and our dreams.
- 27:14You got it. Just the hardest part is getting
- 27:16into first. And so the hardest part is like,
- 27:18answer these four, these questions and follow these four
- 27:23steps. Get the car in gear.
- 27:25And I promise as you create momentum, it will become easier.
- 27:28So I'm going to go over the four steps again.
- 27:30Ground yourself in your values, create trust within yourself,
- 27:33desire over motivation, and be willing to feel any emotion.
- 27:39This is how we confidently step into a new identity.
- 27:42This is how we confidently step into something we've never done
- 27:45before. This is how we act from the
- 27:47future that we are pulled by. This is how we get clarity of
- 27:50what is next. If you know that you want
