  in your life. So, let's huddle up. And

  here today's play from Acts 20, which

  says, "I consider my life worth nothing

  to me. My only aim is to finish the race

  and complete the task the Lord Jesus has
• 0:20
  given me, the task of testifying to the
• 0:22
  good news of God's grace. If the great
• 0:26
  commission is not the mission of every
• 0:27
  Christian, then what is its mission? Why
• 0:30
  has God not taken us to heaven
• 0:32
  immediately upon our conversion if not
• 0:35
  to go and make disciples through
• 0:36
  evangelism leading to baptism and
• 0:39
  disciplehip leading to obedience to
• 0:41
  everything Jesus has commanded?
• 0:43
  Certainly, we are all to love God with
• 0:46
  all of our heart, soul, mind, and
• 0:47
  strength. Jesus loved the God the Father
• 0:50
  in this manner by seeking and saving the
• 0:53
  lost and then offering himself as a
• 0:55
  human sacrifice necessary for all humans
• 0:58
  to be reconciled to God. If we love God
• 1:01
  the most, then reconciling people who
• 1:04
  otherwise remain estranged from him to
• 1:06
  him seems the most loving way to
• 1:08
  demonstrate our love for God just as it
• 1:11
  was for Jesus. Likewise, we are to love
• 1:14
  our neighbors as we love ourselves. What
• 1:16
  greater love can we express to our
• 1:18
  neighbor than reconciling our neighbor
• 1:20
  to Christ by faith? Otherwise, they
• 1:23
  remain condemned forever to suffer
• 1:25
  eternity in the fires of hell. What is
• 1:28
  necessary for obedience to the great
• 1:30
  commission? We need the willingness to
• 1:33
  take up our cross and deny ourselves so
• 1:35
  that man's opinion means nothing, but
• 1:37
  God's opinion means everything. In this
• 1:40
  way, we will share Christ though mocked.

  We will obey Christ, though maligned,
• 1:44
  and we will serve Christ, though
• 1:46
  humiliated. When we care more about
• 1:48
  ourselves than what others think of us,
• 1:50
  we will remain fruitless. Society will
• 1:53
  continue to be defiant toward God, and
• 1:55
  we will risk jeopardizing our very souls
• 1:58
  because we love ourselves more than God.

  The great commission is the mission of
• 2:03
  every Christian. The fields are right,
• 2:05
  but the laborers are few. It's time to
• 2:08
  love God most by loving our neighbor
• 2:10
  through sharing the gospel and
• 2:11
  discipling the saved.
