  Speaker 1: It's still Jenny.
• 0:15
Speaker 2: Welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's edition The Still Realbo Show,
• 0:20
Speaker 2: Episode number seven and sixty four for October three, twenty
• 0:24
Speaker 2: twenty four. Welcome to this week's edition of s RT
• 0:29
Speaker 2: You I am one After the Show, I Am Jeff Pecker,
• 0:34
Speaker 2: joined every single week from my host, the one Only,
• 0:36
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey Franklin. Doctor Trey. Can you believe it's been
• 0:39
Speaker 2: five years since Dynamite launched?
• 0:41
Speaker 1: My friend, h Can I believe it's been five years? Yes?
• 0:46
Speaker 3: Because as you get older, time flies by, and so
• 0:50
Speaker 3: I have no concept of time anymore. Like stuff I
• 0:53
Speaker 3: think happened like a year or two ago.
• 0:55
Speaker 1: I find out was like ten. So has it? Do
• 0:59
Speaker 1: I feel like it's been five years?
• 1:00
  Speaker 2: No?
• 1:01
Speaker 3: But there have there been times during aw's run that
• 1:05
Speaker 3: I've been watching and go, God, this one episode feels
• 1:08
  Speaker 3: like five years.
• 1:09
Speaker 2: Yeah. It's wild. When you're younger, you're in the adolescent's age,
• 1:16
Speaker 2: you're going through school. Everybody would tell me, like, enjoy
• 1:18
Speaker 2: this time because time flies by once you got out
• 1:20
Speaker 2: of high school. And there is nothing more true than that.
• 1:24
  Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's like a lock at the switch
• 1:27
Speaker 2: and it's been five years, and that is like that
• 1:31
Speaker 2: in any stage of life. Watching my son grow up.
• 1:35
Speaker 2: It's been three months, nearly four months, and he is just,
• 1:38
Speaker 2: you know, completely changed since from when he was born.
• 1:41
Speaker 2: And I'm sure that's going to continue on and on
• 1:43
Speaker 2: as life goes on here. But that is one of
• 1:46
Speaker 2: those bits of advice that you always hear that is
• 1:49
Speaker 2: so frigging true, is that time flies by. And that's
• 1:52
Speaker 2: what I was thinking about on Wednesday night watching Dynamo.
• 1:55
Speaker 2: I'm like, man, it's been five years since AW Dynamite launched.
• 1:58
Speaker 2: I remember all the build up towards AW, watching the
• 2:03
Speaker 2: YouTube shows to start launching AW, whether it was being
• 2:07
Speaker 2: the Elite Cody had a show, then they had some
• 2:09
Speaker 2: of those specials like in Las Vegas and February to do,
• 2:12
Speaker 2: and now it's double or nothing, And here we are
• 2:15
Speaker 2: five years later. AW is a brand that is well known.
• 2:20
Speaker 2: It's you know, I think it's recognizable by probably outside
• 2:26
Speaker 2: folks in professional wrestling here and there. I think it's
• 2:29
Speaker 2: it's gained enough momentum where people are like, oh, AW,
• 2:33
Speaker 2: that's that other WWE like wrestling promotion and it's like, yeah, yeah,
• 2:39
Speaker 2: kind of that's it. But here we are five years later,
• 2:45
Speaker 2: and it's amazing, Doctor Try. I mean they really, I
• 2:48
Speaker 2: know they've had their ups and downs, but they changed
• 2:52
Speaker 2: professional wrestling for the better ultimately.
• 2:55
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 2:55
Speaker 3: I mean we talked about it leave on last week's show.
• 2:59
Speaker 3: You know, the different and the contract negotiations and the
• 3:03
Speaker 3: way they run their business and being more talent friendly
• 3:08
Speaker 3: than what WWE was under Vince. I mean, you go
• 3:11
Speaker 3: back to the pandemic era. They changed the way the
• 3:14
Speaker 3: shows were shot, they changed different things, like they've They've
• 3:17
Speaker 3: changed wrestling for the better for the most part there.
• 3:21
Speaker 3: You know, there are certain things that I kind of
• 3:23
Speaker 3: wish they put the genie back in the bottle on
• 3:24
Speaker 3: a little bit, but you know, their way of doing
• 3:28
Speaker 3: things has changed the industry. And that's what you and
• 3:30
Speaker 3: I always talk about, was like competition is good for
• 3:35
Speaker 3: all businesses because it breeds new ways of thinking, new
• 3:40
Speaker 3: ways of doing stuff. And they've done a fantastic job
• 3:43
Speaker 3: of that over these five years.
• 3:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, WWE Professional Wrestling was complacent for twenty plus years.
• 3:49
Speaker 2: I mean TNA made a run at WE, and really
• 3:54
Speaker 2: they got I don't want to say they didn't get close,
• 3:57
Speaker 2: but they did not get as close as AWS. I
• 3:59
Speaker 2: mean TNA on Spike TV at one point, which a
• 4:01
Speaker 2: major network now known as the Paramountain Network, and they
• 4:05
Speaker 2: were out there on the national televised audience. Ring of
• 4:07
Speaker 2: Honor had a good cult like following amongst wrestling fans
• 4:11
Speaker 2: that is similar to ECW. They were on the Sinclay're
• 4:14
Speaker 2: broadcasting network, but they never kind of broke through like
• 4:18
Speaker 2: an ECW did in the late nineties. Is that third
• 4:20
Speaker 2: brand in professional wrestling? It wasn't really until AW came along,
• 4:25
Speaker 2: had some money that they could throw around and was
• 4:28
Speaker 2: doing the complete opposite of WWE where it truly changed
• 4:32
Speaker 2: professional wrestling for the first time in twenty plus years
• 4:35
Speaker 2: and it was a breath of fresh air. They have
• 4:38
Speaker 2: done amazing things to really challenge the norm and kind
• 4:43
Speaker 2: of take their business model and make it the norm.
• 4:46
Speaker 2: Where would WWE have been in the last five years
• 4:49
Speaker 2: if it wasn't for AW pushing them to get better, creatively,
• 4:52
Speaker 2: to get better and taking care of the professional wrestlers
• 4:55
Speaker 2: to get better for making sure their fans leave home happy.
• 5:00
Speaker 2: Would that have all happened if AW wasn't pushing the norm.
• 5:04
Speaker 2: So huge hat tip to AW on celebrating five years
• 5:09
Speaker 2: of AW Dynamite this past Wednesday. I thought the one
• 5:14
Speaker 2: thing that was actually lacking from this past week's edition
• 5:16
Speaker 2: of AW Dynamite was not many lookbacks to some memorable
• 5:22
Speaker 2: moments in AW history. I know they would have them
• 5:24
Speaker 2: coming in and out of breaks. I would like to
• 5:26
Speaker 2: see some sort of video package looking back at the
• 5:28
Speaker 2: last five years of AW Dynamite. I thought that was lacking.
• 5:31
Speaker 2: It's nice to get a little nostalgic from time to
• 5:34
Speaker 2: time and look back at the good times that was
• 5:37
Speaker 2: in the early days of AW Dynamite. With that said,
• 5:41
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey five years celebration for AW Dynamite, what are
• 5:46
Speaker 2: some of the moments, memories, matches that stand out to
• 5:49
Speaker 2: you from the last five years of AW Dynamite on
• 5:51
Speaker 2: TBS and formally TNT.
• 5:54
Speaker 3: I mean, for me, like some of the sixty Man
• 5:57
Speaker 3: or sixty minute Iron Man matches that Brian is a
• 6:00
Speaker 3: with with Hangman and Kenny Omega, Like those are great matches.
• 6:07
Speaker 1: God, you kind of caught me.
• 6:08
Speaker 3: I wasn't prepared for this question, and so I'm trying
• 6:10
Speaker 3: to run through some stuff. Honestly, even this is as
• 6:13
Speaker 3: crazy as it may sound, like the Jericho Orange Cassidy
• 6:16
Speaker 3: feud stands out to me and A lot of it
• 6:19
Speaker 3: was just because it was a little bit different. It
• 6:20
Speaker 3: was a little bit wwe ask you had the giant
• 6:23
Speaker 3: orange juice spot that they brought back up into the
• 6:26
Speaker 3: current feudis in with.
• 6:29
  Speaker 1: Man.
• 6:29
Speaker 3: Trying to think of some other ones. Those are ones
• 6:31
Speaker 3: on top of my head that kind of stand out,
• 6:35
Speaker 3: and just maybe some of the like the times you
• 6:38
Speaker 3: get to see the new people, like the first time
• 6:41
Speaker 3: I got to see the new Malachi or excuse me,
• 6:43
Speaker 3: the House of Black entrance on AW and how it
• 6:46
Speaker 3: differed from WW. Seeing the different presentations of guys we
• 6:50
Speaker 3: knew from other shows and then getting to learn who
• 6:53
Speaker 3: the hell Sammy Gavara is, Who the hell Darby Allen
• 6:56
Speaker 3: was like learning some of these, you know, the pillars
• 6:59
Speaker 3: of AW and seeing them on a big stage and
• 7:04
Speaker 3: it had actually becoming household names for me.
• 7:07
Speaker 2: One of the big things that stands out as favorite
• 7:09
Speaker 2: moments from AW Dynamite was the pandemic era of AW Dynamite.
• 7:14
Speaker 2: I remember those first couple of weeks when everybody was
• 7:19
Speaker 2: legit locked down, not really going out, and I was
• 7:23
Speaker 2: so relieved and happy, and when television that I recognized
• 7:26
Speaker 2: was coming on because there was not a lot of
• 7:27
Speaker 2: new content at the time, and I remember that they
• 7:30
Speaker 2: think they did a show at Daily's place and then
• 7:33
Speaker 2: they went and did some shows at the Nightmare Factory
• 7:36
Speaker 2: and it was the TNT title Tournament when they launched
• 7:38
Speaker 2: that championship, and it was just like a breath of
• 7:42
Speaker 2: fresh air. And I think some of their best work
• 7:45
Speaker 2: was done in front of barely anybody during the pandemic.
• 7:48
Speaker 2: I mean, they really came into their own during the pandemic.
• 7:53
Speaker 2: And then when they were in Daily's place for whatever
• 7:56
Speaker 2: those fifty plus weeks, I think it was almost like
• 7:59
Speaker 2: six seventy weeks of programming from March twenty twenty to
• 8:04
Speaker 2: about June twenty twenty one was memorable. I mean, they,
• 8:08
Speaker 2: like Doctor Trey pointing out, they made w change the
• 8:10
Speaker 2: way that they did their presentations for programming for a
• 8:13
Speaker 2: period of time when WW was doing the shows out
• 8:15
Speaker 2: of the PC that they really broke through there and
• 8:20
Speaker 2: I think it was some of their best again, some
• 8:22
Speaker 2: of their best stuff with nobody around. And you know,
• 8:25
Speaker 2: I kind of I kind of missed the days where
• 8:28
Speaker 2: it was just aw dynamite because I think creatively they
• 8:31
Speaker 2: did their best stuff. I get why they need two shows,
• 8:35
Speaker 2: especially with the amount of people on their roster that
• 8:37
Speaker 2: they have, but the way that they used to build
• 8:39
Speaker 2: those AW dynamite shows early on, from like nineteen to
• 8:42
Speaker 2: twenty one, maybe twenty twenty two a little bit. We're
• 8:46
Speaker 2: so well done, creatively, very organized, great approach that has
• 8:50
Speaker 2: obviously unfortunately been lost as time has gone on in
• 8:53
Speaker 2: AW because creative is something that is often a sticking
• 8:57
Speaker 2: point with me as a fan watching where it's like
• 8:59
Speaker 2: a lot of stopping. There's the stretches where they're really
• 9:01
Speaker 2: really good, from like March this year till up until
• 9:05
Speaker 2: all out and yeah, it's been fun. I mean the
• 9:09
Speaker 2: OSPRAMJFF match that recently took place stood out to me.
• 9:15
  Speaker 2: Brody Lee's debut, Matt Hardy's debut, Malachi Black's debut. I
• 9:20
Speaker 2: know you mentioned him. He showed up surprisingly during a
• 9:23
Speaker 2: show in Miami, one of those first shows back on
• 9:26
Speaker 2: the road, and he was not expecting. AW but wwat
• 9:30
Speaker 2: that snafu with his contract where he was like an
• 9:33
Speaker 2: NXC talent and not only thirty days instead of ninety
• 9:36
Speaker 2: days to let his to let his contract lapse. Yeah,
• 9:42
  Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's just been a really fun run.
• 9:45
Speaker 2: I think of a lot of great stuff there various
• 9:49
Speaker 2: different times in the early stages of aw Dynamite and
• 9:54
Speaker 2: how exciting that was. And you know, I think of
• 9:56
Speaker 2: episode number two, Private Party defeated Young Bucks was stood
• 9:59
Speaker 2: out to me. I mean, that was a really fun moment.
• 10:03
Speaker 2: And you know, you look back at those early aw
• 10:05
Speaker 2: Dynamite days and you're like, man, they still got that
• 10:08
Speaker 2: in there, and they could still get those crowd reactions.
• 10:10
Speaker 2: They kind of went old school on Wednesday Night. Aw
• 10:13
Speaker 2: really love showing the crowd shots, and rightfully so, because
• 10:15
Speaker 2: they've not had a chance to really do that over
• 10:18
Speaker 2: the last six months unless it's a pay review. So
• 10:21
Speaker 2: I mean, massive accomplishment here, Doctor Trey. And there's some
• 10:25
Speaker 2: more things to celebrate in regards to all of the wrestling.
• 10:28
Speaker 2: But I think if you asked me back in October
• 10:32
Speaker 2: twenty nineteen, would we'd be talking about the five year anniversary,
• 10:36
Speaker 2: you know, in five years from now, I would say yes,
• 10:40
Speaker 2: But you never really know when that type of stuff happens.
• 10:43
Speaker 2: So I mean that's a huge accomplish, the accomplishment for
• 10:46
Speaker 2: them to still be here for five years, to still
• 10:49
Speaker 2: be a very solid number two in the United States
• 10:51
Speaker 2: for wrestling, promotion and to really push the envelope and
• 10:55
Speaker 2: change things for the better when it comes to the
• 10:58
  Speaker 2: world professional wrestling.
• 11:00
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 11:00
Speaker 3: I mean if you had asked me that if they'd
• 11:02
Speaker 3: be around in five years, I'd say yeah, because look
• 11:04
Speaker 3: at TNA, like you and I, well you and Eric,
• 11:06
Speaker 3: you said, have a running joke and we did it
• 11:08
Speaker 3: on our show as well, like was t and A
• 11:10
Speaker 3: going to be in business in a year? And that
• 11:13
Speaker 3: ran for fourteen fifteen years? You know, if they're going
• 11:17
Speaker 3: to make it. So I always kind of thought they'd
• 11:19
Speaker 3: make it to this mark. I just didn't know if
• 11:22
Speaker 3: they'd be able to grow or if.
• 11:23
Speaker 1: They'd have to downsize.
• 11:24
Speaker 3: And I think they've done an admirable job of slowly
• 11:29
Speaker 3: growing their brand awareness. It may lack in some other areas,
• 11:33
Speaker 3: but like you said, if you go around talk to
• 11:35
Speaker 3: people who are kind of, you know, borderline wrestling fans
• 11:39
Speaker 3: and you ask what AEW is, they're gonna be, Oh,
• 11:41
Speaker 3: that's that other show that's kind of like WWE. That's
• 11:44
Speaker 3: where Chris Jericho is, or that's where you know John
• 11:47
Speaker 3: Moxley is or Daniel Bryan or somebody like that. They'll
• 11:49
Speaker 3: they'll mention one of those guys. So I think they've
• 11:52
Speaker 3: done a great job with that. I mean there, I mean,
• 11:54
Speaker 3: obviously there are always some things that you can tweak,
• 11:56
  Speaker 3: but it's a.
• 11:58
Speaker 1: Learning curve like there.
• 12:00
Speaker 3: I mean, just think about this, Like the amount of
• 12:02
Speaker 3: information that you learn in that your son will learn
• 12:05
Speaker 3: from birth until the age of five, like Samy's doing now,
• 12:09
Speaker 3: is incredible, And what you learn from kindergarten through fifth
• 12:12
Speaker 3: grade is a five year window and you learn a
• 12:15
Speaker 3: ton in that space.
• 12:16
  Speaker 1: They've done a lot.
• 12:18
Speaker 3: Of learning, tweaking, changing things, trying new things out. So
• 12:23
Speaker 3: I give them all the props in the world to it.
• 12:25
Speaker 3: And you know, one of my favorite things I forgot
• 12:27
Speaker 3: to mention was, and you brought it up, was when
• 12:28
Speaker 3: we're doing those daily the daily Plaza places or shows
• 12:33
Speaker 3: that having the wrestlers around the ring side and hearing
• 12:36
Speaker 3: an MJF or hearing you know, Sean Spears in the
• 12:39
Speaker 3: time or something talk trash to a guy in a
• 12:43
Speaker 3: match that he's not involved in. I thought was so
• 12:46
Speaker 3: clever and so witty, and it was actually a way
• 12:49
Speaker 3: of like character development for guys that maybe weren't on
• 12:53
Speaker 3: the show like that. That stuff was really really well
• 12:55
Speaker 3: done and really fun and next thing, you know, you
• 12:58
Speaker 3: see NXT doing the same thing a month later because
• 13:01
Speaker 3: they all realized, hey, that's a great idea. We could
• 13:04
Speaker 3: have some feedback and not just these empty arena matches
• 13:08
Speaker 3: that we've been having. So but yeah, like I'm really
• 13:11
Speaker 3: happy for that company. They've they've they've come a long way,
• 13:14
Speaker 3: and you know they can keep growing. You just keep
• 13:17
Speaker 3: learning and adapting and business is more about adapting and
• 13:21
Speaker 3: surviving than anything else, and they've done a good job
• 13:24
  Speaker 3: at that.
• 13:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, very very much.
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: So.
• 13:26
Speaker 2: I also think I remember you were mentioned like wrestlers talking.
• 13:29
Speaker 2: That's like how I got introduced to Coltman Austin Gun
• 13:32
Speaker 2: because they would like lose their minds on the outside
• 13:35
Speaker 2: of the ring as the crowd back then. So props
• 13:39
Speaker 2: all around, Awn was It was a very celebratory day
• 13:42
Speaker 2: on Wednesday for AW, so outside of the five year
• 13:45
Speaker 2: anniversary of Dynamite, it was officially announced by Variety that
• 13:49
Speaker 2: AW had signed a multi multimedia rights deal with Warner
• 13:53
Speaker 2: Brothers Discovery. We had heard about this for some time
• 13:55
Speaker 2: that this was intimate, intimate, and it happened also intimate,
• 14:00
Speaker 2: I mean, it was a very intimate situation with Warner
• 14:02
Speaker 2: Brothers as well. The deal is reportedly three years with
• 14:06
Speaker 2: a four year with an option for a fourth year.
• 14:09
Speaker 2: The fourth year would be at a substantial increase in price,
• 14:12
Speaker 2: according to Dave Meltzer. Variety also said that AW programming
• 14:17
Speaker 2: will streave live on Max simultaneously for the US subscribers
• 14:21
Speaker 2: and will be available to stream on demand starting in
• 14:23
Speaker 2: January twenty twenty five. Their pay per views will be
• 14:26
Speaker 2: available on Max, but at a discounted price. What that
• 14:30
Speaker 2: price is, nobody knows. That's a little bit concerning, because
• 14:35
Speaker 2: I was hoping that with this new deal that it
• 14:37
Speaker 2: would go over to Max and it would be a
• 14:39
Speaker 2: similar price point to what ww's doing on Peacock. But
• 14:42
Speaker 2: I guess AW had said that, you know, WA and
• 14:45
Speaker 2: UFC are basically losing their shirts now on pay per
• 14:47
Speaker 2: views by only having them up there for four ninety
• 14:52
Speaker 2: nine a month on Peacock. There was a report out
• 14:55
Speaker 2: there from Sports Business Journal, according to Russell Puris and
• 15:00
Speaker 2: Fightful Select, where it stated that they were reporting that
• 15:04
Speaker 2: Warner Brothers Discovery had an equity stake in AW. That
• 15:07
Speaker 2: has been something that has been long rumored since AW launched. Reportedly,
• 15:12
Speaker 2: thus far, neither AW nor w or Warner Brothers Discovery
• 15:15
Speaker 2: have confirmed this. Additionally, PR contracts contacts at both companies
• 15:19
Speaker 2: stated they've never heard of that aspect of Warner Brothers
• 15:22
Speaker 2: Discovery having equity in AAW and then finally aw's new
• 15:26
Speaker 2: deal with Warner Brothers Discovery is closer to one hundred
• 15:28
Speaker 2: and eighty five million per year, not to previously reported
• 15:31
Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty million, according to a source close
• 15:34
Speaker 2: to the situation that comes via Russell Votes. Also through
• 15:38
Speaker 2: the Russell Puris Twitter feed. Sean ross Sapp also confirmed
• 15:43
Speaker 2: that that is what he had heard as well, so
• 15:45
Speaker 2: a three year deal with a fourth year option, whether
• 15:47
Speaker 2: it would be an increase at one hundred and eighty
• 15:48
Speaker 2: five million a year. They will be on HBO Max airing,
• 15:53
Speaker 2: it will be streaming and also Next Day and there
• 15:55
Speaker 2: will also be a discounted price for pay per views
• 15:58
Speaker 2: on Max Doctor Trey. This is for Dynamite and Collision.
• 16:02
Speaker 2: Rampage was not part of the press release. Nothing new
• 16:07
Speaker 2: as of yet with Rampagne. There's been rumors that there
• 16:10
Speaker 2: will be a show on Fox, but this for the
• 16:14
Speaker 2: Friday show. Rampage may be done completely in twenty twenty five.
• 16:18
Speaker 2: There may be a new show called AW Shockwave on Fox,
• 16:21
Speaker 2: but we'll talk about that once it happens down the line. Nonetheless,
• 16:25
Speaker 2: let's look at the deal here at DOTG Trade. This
• 16:27
Speaker 2: is very big. This is great news for professional wrestling.
• 16:29
Speaker 2: This is great news for professional wrestling fans, and this
• 16:32
Speaker 2: is obviously great news for AW. Your thoughts on the.
• 16:35
Speaker 3: Deal, Yeah, it's good for everybody evolved because not only
• 16:40
Speaker 3: do you get you know, for Max, you get to
• 16:43
Speaker 3: stream Dynamite because there are people like me that you know,
• 16:47
  Speaker 3: I stream everything. I don't have satellite, I don't have cable,
• 16:50
Speaker 3: so I don't get TBS or TNT on my streaming platforms.
• 16:55
Speaker 3: I do have Max because it comes with my AT
• 16:58
Speaker 3: and T subscription, so I can now watch dine in
• 17:01
Speaker 3: my life and not have to go to you know,
• 17:03
Speaker 3: some alternatives excuse me, some alternative sites to try and
• 17:07
  Speaker 3: watch it.
• 17:07
Speaker 1: It's good for wrestling fans.
• 17:08
Speaker 3: We got three more years guaranteed pretty much of professional wrestling.
• 17:14
Speaker 3: If if the Fox deal goes down and you get
• 17:16
Speaker 3: some more wrestling on FS one, I doubt it will
• 17:20
Speaker 3: actually be on main Fox, but I think FS one
• 17:23
  Speaker 3: things like.
• 17:23
Speaker 1: That is good. It's great for the wrestlers.
• 17:26
Speaker 3: It's more money being generated into the company, so they
• 17:29
Speaker 3: can you know, play with salaries, raises, you know, things
• 17:33
Speaker 3: like that. Overall, it's just it's just good in general.
• 17:36
Speaker 3: And then for like I said, for Max, it's great
• 17:38
Speaker 3: because you get that. Plus there's still an opportunity for
• 17:42
Speaker 3: them to stream you know, past episodes of Dyna, My,
• 17:45
Speaker 3: past episodes of Collision, Ring of Honor, stuff from Days
• 17:50
Speaker 3: of Old, because Tony Kahan bought the library, so there's
• 17:53
Speaker 3: more content available for Max, which has been struggling with
• 17:57
Speaker 3: content for a while. Like I like, literally yes to
• 18:00
Speaker 3: Day was the first time we've turned bax on in
• 18:03
Speaker 3: probably six months, just because they haven't had anything new.
• 18:06
Speaker 1: To watch that we were interested in.
• 18:08
Speaker 3: So getting more content on these platforms is great for
• 18:11
  Speaker 3: everybody involved.
• 18:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, this is great. I guess there were remembers about
• 18:16
Speaker 2: Ring of Honor potentially going a true TV, but that
• 18:19
Speaker 2: wasn't part of the deal. It's I think Meltsa reported
• 18:22
Speaker 2: earlier today that everything with Ring of Honor is status quo.
• 18:26
Speaker 2: If you are an AW hater for whatever reason, you
• 18:30
Speaker 2: should be celebrating this because this is good for whatever
• 18:34
  Speaker 2: you like. If it's w E, if it's new Japan.
• 18:36
Speaker 2: If it's whatever, If it's whatever, you like that it
• 18:39
Speaker 2: is an AW. This is good because we need more
• 18:43
Speaker 2: wrestling promotions on network television schedules in the United States
• 18:49
Speaker 2: and beyond. Like we need that. We need both companies
• 18:52
Speaker 2: to push one another. And you should be cheering on AW.
• 18:54
Speaker 2: If you don't like, like, we could sit here, we
• 18:56
Speaker 2: could bash their creative we could bash their matches, we
• 18:58
Speaker 2: could bash their cards long they are whatever, But this
• 19:02
Speaker 2: is ultimately we are still pushing for them to be successful,
• 19:06
Speaker 2: and this is a form of their success. So I'm
• 19:10
Speaker 2: very happy for them. The thing I'm going to be
• 19:13
Speaker 2: watching with a very keen eye here, Doctor Troy again
• 19:16
Speaker 2: is the discounted pay per view prices. I want to
• 19:19
Speaker 2: know how much it is and like, what is a
• 19:21
Speaker 2: fair price for me to want to spend that money? Again,
• 19:26
Speaker 2: I was hoping, what if you had a Max subscription,
• 19:29
Speaker 2: you'd be able to watch AW pay per views, but
• 19:32
Speaker 2: there's still going to be a paywall behind there. I mean,
• 19:34
Speaker 2: what is a fair price if you're already subscribing to
• 19:37
Speaker 2: Max to also make the pay per view for available
• 19:44
Speaker 2: for the fans, And that could actually open up the
• 19:46
Speaker 2: door for WWE Togo. That's interesting. Maybe we'll do that
• 19:48
Speaker 2: in the future, which I don't want to have happened.
• 19:50
Speaker 2: I have everything that is good for aw, that's not
• 19:53
Speaker 2: what I want to have happened. But I was hoping
• 19:55
Speaker 2: that I would be able to watch the pay per
• 19:56
Speaker 2: views VA Max Doctor Trey. That won't be the case.
• 19:59
Speaker 2: What is a fair price point then, in that realm.
• 20:05
Speaker 3: Right, I think that's the best price for the point
• 20:08
Speaker 3: for them, because hey, you've already conditioned your wrestling fans
• 20:12
Speaker 3: to ninety nine, like we heard it for for god
• 20:15
Speaker 3: knows how long on the network, and then you know
• 20:18
Speaker 3: you have Peacock. But nine ninety nine is a good
• 20:19
Speaker 3: conditioning price, especially if you're already paying for a Max subscription.
• 20:23
Speaker 3: On top of that, it's just extra money for Mac
• 20:29
Speaker 3: for Warner Brothers, I mean that they're that's just gathering,
• 20:32
Speaker 3: that's just double dipping into your client base. Anything more
• 20:37
Speaker 3: than that you're gonna have, You're gonna have fans and
• 20:39
Speaker 3: just go, yeah, I'm already paying ten bucks, twelve bucks,
• 20:43
Speaker 3: fifteen bucks a month for Max.
• 20:46
  Speaker 1: I really don't need this.
• 20:47
Speaker 3: I mean, it's just to me, it's more about just
• 20:50
Speaker 3: price conditioning, and then that way you can still say
• 20:52
Speaker 3: that you're in the same ballpark as WWE, and you
• 20:56
Speaker 3: can sell that to advertisers as well, so you can
• 20:59
Speaker 3: get that great rec pieces or Reces sponsored Darby Ellen
• 21:04
Speaker 3: Coffin match or something.
• 21:05
Speaker 2: Didn't they do like Cracker Barrel in the early days
• 21:08
Speaker 2: of AW where there's like a Cracker Barrel match.
• 21:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, WW has done more than anybody else.
• 21:13
Speaker 3: So like the Dorito's Mountain Dew, you know, all that
• 21:16
Speaker 3: fun stuff, you know, but you got me for like
• 21:19
Speaker 3: aw's got to do a Red Bull ladder match, you
• 21:22
Speaker 3: know something like that.
• 21:23
Speaker 2: Hey, money talks, money talks. So we'll see there's more
• 21:27
Speaker 2: details that funnel out in regards to this deal. Congratulations
• 21:29
Speaker 2: to AW and Warner Brother Discovery. Another at least three
• 21:32
Speaker 2: years on TNT and TBS programming, potentially another four years,
• 21:36
Speaker 2: and I guess we'll keep an eye on whether or
• 21:38
Speaker 2: not there is an actual stake in AW from Warnbro Discovery.
• 21:43
Speaker 2: There's always been that rumor, and now you've got conflicting
• 21:46
Speaker 2: reports for like the first time. Now you've got some
• 21:48
Speaker 2: real solid people out there talking about it, and they're
• 21:52
Speaker 2: saying both sides are basically saying I have no idea
• 21:55
Speaker 2: what you're talking about that is not the case at all.
• 21:58
Speaker 2: One of the people who helped become a founder of AW,
• 22:02
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, is the current we Champion, Cody Rhodes. He
• 22:06
Speaker 2: is now in WWI. You want to talk about moments
• 22:08
Speaker 2: that I was, like my mind, BLEW is two and
• 22:10
Speaker 2: a half three years and Cody's gone from AW. But nonetheless,
• 22:14
Speaker 2: Cody rhoads and is in WWI. He's the Wee Champion.
• 22:17
Speaker 2: He has a very big match at Bad Blood over
• 22:21
Speaker 2: the weekend. He'll be tagging with the Roman Raids to
• 22:22
Speaker 2: take on SOLOSIKOA and Jacob Fottwo. We'll preview that here
• 22:25
Speaker 2: in a little bit. But one of the things that
• 22:29
Speaker 2: we've been talking about for sometimes that he became champion
• 22:31
Speaker 2: was our concerns of him becoming vanilla, his storylines not
• 22:35
Speaker 2: being compelling, his story lines not being entertaining, historylines not
• 22:38
Speaker 2: being interesting in him kind of floundering a bit as
• 22:41
Speaker 2: a world champion. So there was some concern on our part,
• 22:44
Speaker 2: and I think that they may have found a potential
• 22:47
Speaker 2: storyline that peaks at least my interest. Doctor Try. I
• 22:50
Speaker 2: want to get your thoughts on this thing. So I
• 22:53
Speaker 2: feel like Cody Rhoads finally has a good storyline as
• 22:56
Speaker 2: champion for fans to sink their teeth into storyline is
• 23:00
Speaker 2: him tagging with Roman Rains on Saturday and Kevin Owens
• 23:04
Speaker 2: and Randy Orton kind of looking at him as a
• 23:06
Speaker 2: quasi trader for tagging with Roman Reigns. I like the
• 23:11
Speaker 2: interactions of the last two to three weeks on SmackDown,
• 23:13
Speaker 2: whether it be with Rhodes and Owens, Roads with Orton,
• 23:16
Speaker 2: or Roads with both Orton and Cohen Kevin Owens in
• 23:20
Speaker 2: the rain this past Friday's edition of SmackDown. I'm digging
• 23:24
Speaker 2: that because it makes so much sense. One of the
• 23:28
Speaker 2: worst things in professional wrestling, especially during the time where
• 23:31
Speaker 2: Vince had the creative books, is you would have two
• 23:33
Speaker 2: enemies that had this really intense feud and then two
• 23:38
Speaker 2: months later they would be tagging with one another like
• 23:40
Speaker 2: nothing ever happened, and it would be like, well, how
• 23:42
Speaker 2: do come we never explain how we get here? Well,
• 23:45
Speaker 2: Cody tagging with Roman, how they built that up makes sense.
• 23:50
Speaker 2: All the stuff around it, and how he would be
• 23:52
Speaker 2: looked at by his peers is something that typically is
• 23:56
Speaker 2: not included in these types of storylines, or it's typically
• 24:00
Speaker 2: lost over. I love that two people who were at
• 24:05
Speaker 2: war with Cody Rhodes against the Bloodline, Kevin Owens and
• 24:08
Speaker 2: Randy Oran are basically like, what the hell are you doing, dude,
• 24:12
Speaker 2: and they want to kind of call him a trader,
• 24:15
Speaker 2: but they don't get there. It seems like Kevin Owens
• 24:17
Speaker 2: has one foot in there where you could see him
• 24:19
Speaker 2: turning on Cody Rhads at one point Randy Orans kind
• 24:22
Speaker 2: of like shrugging his shoulders a little bit. But I
• 24:24
Speaker 2: watched that on SmackDown. Light bulb went off and I
• 24:27
Speaker 2: was like, We've been talking about this for a long time.
• 24:29
Speaker 2: We want a good Cody Roads storyline. I think we
• 24:32
Speaker 2: found it, Doctor Try. I'm really digging what they're doing
• 24:34
Speaker 2: as part of like this character development with Cody Rhoads,
• 24:37
Speaker 2: Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and of course the stuff that's
• 24:40
Speaker 2: being included with him tagging with the Roman Reigns at
• 24:42
  Speaker 2: Bad Blood.
• 24:44
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 24:44
Speaker 3: It's actually one of those things that you and I
• 24:46
Speaker 3: have talked about, I mean several times over the years
• 24:48
Speaker 3: of the show. Like I remember, you know Sena and Orton,
• 24:51
Speaker 3: you know, having their feuds, and it was like two
• 24:53
Speaker 3: months later seen in Orton or in a tag match
• 24:55
Speaker 3: together and they would do the whole like, I don't
• 24:58
Speaker 3: think I trust you.
• 24:59
Speaker 1: Well, I don't think I try chew that much either,
• 25:01
Speaker 1: But it was never like as as.
• 25:05
Speaker 3: Poignant as what we're seeing right now. And then you
• 25:08
Speaker 3: never have anybody question John Cena or Randy ordes so
• 25:11
Speaker 3: why they're tagging with the other. And you know, it's
• 25:13
Speaker 3: always one of my favorite things in wrestling the bitch
• 25:16
Speaker 3: about is when your good guy is getting beat down
• 25:19
Speaker 3: by four people and nobody comes out to save him. Well,
• 25:23
Speaker 3: is he really a good guy ie if nobody in
• 25:25
Speaker 3: the back wants to come help him. So this storyline
• 25:28
Speaker 3: is like the perfect combination of little nitpicky things that've
• 25:31
Speaker 3: had over the years where you're like, okay, Cody and
• 25:34
Speaker 3: Roman pretty serious feud. I mean literally, like Roman and
• 25:38
Speaker 3: Rock were trying to destroy Cody less than a year ago,
• 25:42
Speaker 3: and now he's teaming with Roman. I love the way
• 25:45
Speaker 3: they played out with the Roman where Roma's not asking
• 25:48
Speaker 3: for Cody's help, he kind of doesn't want it, but
• 25:52
Speaker 3: Cody's kind of positioned himself that like, hey, the enemy
• 25:55
Speaker 3: of my enemy is my friend.
• 25:57
Speaker 1: All right, this makes sense.
• 25:58
Speaker 3: And then you really have two people that like you know,
• 26:02
Speaker 3: have great storyline history at the bloodline and with Roman
• 26:05
Speaker 3: in particular, going dude, what the hell are you doing?
• 26:08
Speaker 3: Like we trust you, we love you, but we don't
• 26:11
Speaker 3: trust him. What are you walking yourself into? It's a
• 26:15
Speaker 3: great storyline, the fact that it takes away from real life,
• 26:19
Speaker 3: Like if you have somebody in your life who hates
• 26:22
Speaker 3: somebody with a passion and then all of a sudden,
• 26:26
Speaker 3: out of nowhere, they're helping that guy out for some reason.
• 26:29
Speaker 3: You're like, dude, what are you doing? That makes no sense?
• 26:31
Speaker 3: Like you hate that guy, Like what's going on? I
• 26:35
Speaker 3: love when they I'm not saying that this is not
• 26:37
Speaker 3: one of those instances where they're blending. They're blurring the
• 26:39
Speaker 3: lines with the reality and storyline, but this is a
• 26:43
Speaker 3: situation where you're taking a real life situation, in real
• 26:47
Speaker 3: life emotions and transposing it into wrestling, which is one
• 26:51
Speaker 3: of those things that we love, Like we love when
• 26:54
Speaker 3: art imitates life, and this is one of those really
• 26:56
Speaker 3: good segments where it's imitating life.
• 27:00
Speaker 2: You've heard the words in titles that they have now
• 27:03
Speaker 2: wa of character development, and that is so important, so
• 27:07
Speaker 2: poignant and so true, and I love that they have
• 27:10
Speaker 2: job titles that have that name in their job title
• 27:13
Speaker 2: because of the importance behind it, because it's it plays
• 27:17
Speaker 2: a massive role in creative and maybe sometimes with these
• 27:20
Speaker 2: writers they're not thinking about, Okay, this this loose end
• 27:23
Speaker 2: is well, we can just kind of forget about out
• 27:25
Speaker 2: that and the fans will remember it anyway. I remember
• 27:27
Speaker 2: you used to reading reports that like they would think
• 27:29
Speaker 2: in creative fans will remember this anyway. We'll just you know,
• 27:32
Speaker 2: start doing it this way, and so be it well
• 27:35
Speaker 2: forgetting some sort of history that took place three, six, nine,
• 27:39
Speaker 2: twelve months prior. And I love that WA is choosing
• 27:42
Speaker 2: not to ignore it. And that's one of those things
• 27:45
Speaker 2: that's always been a bugaboo and I just like it.
• 27:47
Speaker 2: And because when as time goes on, as I get
• 27:50
Speaker 2: more invested in I watch at home and they put
• 27:53
Speaker 2: these little pieces of the puzzle together, I'm going to
• 27:56
Speaker 2: be more likely excited, entertained, and looking forward to the
• 28:01
Speaker 2: crescendo of this all. And that is what WW is
• 28:04
Speaker 2: doing so so well, I know we just praised AW.
• 28:09
Speaker 2: I'm gonna pick on them a little bit, but creatively,
• 28:12
Speaker 2: this is where they are lacking in a lot of things,
• 28:15
Speaker 2: and it's a very minute and small thing. Because I
• 28:18
Speaker 2: watched so much of AW I do not miss their programming.
• 28:21
Speaker 2: But take, for instance, I was watching Collision recently, and
• 28:25
Speaker 2: up until this point, Rouche was aligned with the don
• 28:29
Speaker 2: Kallis family. He had they had done the storyline, he
• 28:32
Speaker 2: had joined don Kallis family, blah blah blah blah blah.
• 28:36
Speaker 2: And he kind of saw as time went on with
• 28:38
Speaker 2: the will Ospray Kyle Fletcher Kenoski Takeshka stuff that roushe
• 28:42
Speaker 2: was not part of the don Challis family randomly anymore.
• 28:46
Speaker 2: It was like, where's Ruce. Maybe he's away, maybe he's injured.
• 28:48
Speaker 2: I have no idea. Well, they do a segment on
• 28:51
Speaker 2: Collision where he like reunites or restarts l I j
• 28:58
Speaker 2: for like no reason at all, and I'm like, but
• 29:02
Speaker 2: what happened to the alignment with the don Kallis family.
• 29:05
Speaker 2: Why isn't he with don Kallis anymore? Zero explanation. I'm
• 29:10
Speaker 2: picking I on AW here, but that is something I'd
• 29:13
Speaker 2: like to see where just a simple segment, Ruth just says, hey, listen,
• 29:17
Speaker 2: I've decided to go in my separate ways from you.
• 29:19
Speaker 2: I appreciate what you've done for me, but I have
• 29:21
Speaker 2: something up my sleeve, will still remain friends or whatever,
• 29:24
Speaker 2: and they close out the segment. But that is the
• 29:26
Speaker 2: stuff of professional rights, and that comes to mind, like
• 29:29
Speaker 2: in recent times, while probably most things people are like
• 29:32
Speaker 2: skipping over, that is something that kind of like reminds
• 29:38
Speaker 2: me of moments that there's been gaps in storylines. And
• 29:42
Speaker 2: that's the thing that I like with WWE's doing right now.
• 29:44
Speaker 2: And the same point, I will say, I'll talk good
• 29:46
Speaker 2: here about AW Dotor Trey. I like the stuffing that
• 29:49
Speaker 2: they're doing with Moxley, Claudio Poc Danielson and Wheeler Da.
• 29:56
Speaker 2: I like the stuff with Da. That is some good
• 29:58
Speaker 2: character development. They closed out the five Your Anniversary with
• 30:01
Speaker 2: Yuda tagging with Danielson taking on Claudia Unpack. I eventually
• 30:05
Speaker 2: think you'da does turn on Brian Danielson. But you're seeing
• 30:08
Speaker 2: some good character development. Bad character development again with AW
• 30:12
Speaker 2: that I understand. When did Marina Shaffir just get a
• 30:15
Speaker 2: Russian accent? Right? I believe she's Russian. I may be
• 30:22
Speaker 2: completely wrong. I'm gonna say Eastern European accent just to
• 30:25
Speaker 2: be on the safe side here, But again, those are
• 30:28
Speaker 2: times where there's been good character development and bad bad
• 30:31
Speaker 2: character development, and it is so important profession rustling for
• 30:34
Speaker 2: fans to get that.
• 30:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, what what was the name of the group that
• 30:40
Speaker 3: they formed to back MJF when he climbed the ladder
• 30:43
Speaker 3: to the devil so to win the briefcase? Oh, the firm,
• 30:48
Speaker 3: the firm, And then like it just gone. And there's
• 30:50
Speaker 3: never been an explanation to that.
• 30:54
Speaker 2: You know, they basically said an interview, is that like
• 30:57
Speaker 2: once Punk got injured and the whole brawl loud thing happened,
• 31:00
Speaker 2: that it like completely screwed everything up, but then they
• 31:03
Speaker 2: never really followed up with it.
• 31:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean we've we've seen that wrestling before
• 31:08
Speaker 3: where they start something, an injury kind of derails it,
• 31:11
Speaker 3: but they still make it work or they still dance
• 31:15
Speaker 3: around it for a little bit, and then there's but
• 31:18
Speaker 3: there's usually a write off or a finality to it,
• 31:22
Speaker 3: not just completely dropped. You know. Dear God, I'm just
• 31:26
Speaker 3: waiting for Triple H to call Roderick Strong and be like,
• 31:30
Speaker 3: wasn't when did Marina get in accents? You know, just
• 31:33
Speaker 3: having Kobe flashbacks here, But like you know, like you said,
• 31:36
Speaker 3: like the different little small subtleties of stuff the way
• 31:40
Speaker 3: things are going on. Remember back when when the Fiend
• 31:44
Speaker 3: was on top and everybody he wrestled changed afterwards, whether
• 31:49
Speaker 3: it was Seth Rawns or Brian or Daniel Bryan or
• 31:51
Speaker 3: whoever it was he was in the ring with. And
• 31:53
Speaker 3: you see that now with a guy like carrying cross
• 31:56
Speaker 3: like he had the interactions with with a Xavier was
• 31:59
Speaker 3: and now we're seeing darker sunning. Xavier Wood's coming out.
• 32:01
Speaker 3: He's had the interaction to Miz and then Miz turns
• 32:03
Speaker 3: on our truth. Like, to me, those were great little
• 32:06
Speaker 3: callback things, and you know, it always drove me nuts
• 32:10
Speaker 3: when I would hear that, Oh, wrestling fans don't remember this.
• 32:13
Speaker 1: Wrestling fans don't remember this.
• 32:15
Speaker 3: If you're a fan of professional wrestling, you're in the
• 32:19
Speaker 3: same book, in the same boat as Star Wars fans,
• 32:22
Speaker 3: Star Trek fans, soap opera fans, comic book fans, and.
• 32:25
  Speaker 1: We remember everything.
• 32:28
Speaker 3: We remember every detail of every interaction that goes on.
• 32:34
Speaker 3: And it just used to drive me nuts when stuff
• 32:37
Speaker 3: like that would go on, and we're like, hey.
• 32:39
Speaker 1: Like, you know, I brought up a couple weeks ago.
• 32:40
Speaker 3: I think I was like, when did Roderick Strong, Like
• 32:44
Speaker 3: all of a sudden like hook and shake his hand
• 32:45
Speaker 3: after a match like I thought he was a Like
• 32:47
Speaker 3: things like that drive wrestling fans nuts.
• 32:51
Speaker 1: It's that thorn that gets into our brain.
• 32:54
Speaker 3: It's still I mean, to this day, Jeff, I still
• 32:57
Speaker 3: don't know who the hell Katie Vick is.
• 33:00
Speaker 2: Well, I none of us should, none of us.
• 33:03
  Speaker 1: But I mean I I and I had.
• 33:06
Speaker 3: I had came up with my own storyline, like my
• 33:09
Speaker 3: own theory in my head as to why that whole
• 33:11
  Speaker 3: thing played out.
• 33:12
Speaker 1: And I was like, Okay, I have to.
• 33:14
Speaker 3: Make up my own backstory to get that thorn out
• 33:18
Speaker 3: of my brain. But different little things like that, We'll
• 33:22
Speaker 3: just eat at people forever until there's, you know, some
• 33:26
Speaker 3: kind of conclusive finish to a storyline.
• 33:30
Speaker 1: We need beginnings and ends. We don't need just beginnings
• 33:33
  Speaker 1: and no ends.
• 33:33
Speaker 3: And we don't need just random ends with no beginnings
• 33:36
Speaker 3: like we need concrete storyline. Character development, which when I
• 33:41
Speaker 3: heard Shawn Michael's introduced as the was he the senior
• 33:44
Speaker 3: vice president of character Development.
• 33:47
  Speaker 2: That's where I heard it on n NEXTD on c W.
• 33:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, that's an awesome title that that
• 33:53
Speaker 3: gets you a promotion.
• 33:53
Speaker 1: I think with the title like that.
• 33:56
  Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that there's I like it in a
• 33:58
Speaker 2: title because it is a major vocal point. There's not
• 34:01
Speaker 2: just creative, it's like, how do I start to care
• 34:04
Speaker 2: about these wrestlers? And that's the thing that at any
• 34:08
Speaker 2: point of our wrestling fandom, whether it was caring about
• 34:11
Speaker 2: Sting taking on Rick Flair or to take on Rick.
• 34:18
Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of who else there Hogan during Hulcomania,
• 34:21
Speaker 2: Steve Austin going after Vince McMahon, Brett Hart, Sean Michaels
• 34:27
Speaker 2: Rock Austin Like there was a character development behind a
• 34:30
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey and I'm just happy that they're doing that
• 34:33
Speaker 2: right now with Cody Rhoades. So, I mean, that's that's
• 34:36
Speaker 2: pretty exciting to see that. Yeah, speaking of Shawn michaels In,
• 34:42
Speaker 2: character development is new role with w E. Let's talk
• 34:46
Speaker 2: a little bit about the NXT debut on the CW Network.
• 34:50
Speaker 2: Some notes I had written down Doctor Trey Roxane Perez
• 34:52
Speaker 2: shockingly defeating Julia thanks for the help of the returning Corra.
• 34:55
Speaker 2: Jade wes Lee defeats Zachary Wentz in an awesome street fight.
• 34:59
Speaker 2: Austin Australian female star Delta appears to be NXT bound.
• 35:03
Speaker 2: Trick Williams wins the NXC Championship. I'm still not feeling
• 35:07
Speaker 2: Trick Williams matches, and then Seampunk takes out Ethan Page
• 35:11
Speaker 2: to close the show, which was pretty funny. During the confetti,
• 35:14
Speaker 2: you just see a gts. Overall, I thought it was
• 35:16
  Speaker 2: a great, crowd, solid show. I don't know if I'm
• 35:19
Speaker 2: digging the new NXT logo yet, but those are some
• 35:22
Speaker 2: of my thoughts from NXD on the CW network.
• 35:26
Speaker 3: I actually really enjoyed the show. I actually watched it live,
• 35:28
Speaker 3: which is a rarity for me with kids and everything
• 35:32
Speaker 3: else going on the world. That rock Stand and Julia
• 35:35
Speaker 3: match was really good. There's a couple of spots in there.
• 35:37
Speaker 3: Once again Julia brand new to the company, but I
• 35:39
Speaker 3: thought they did that match really well. The Core Jade
• 35:43
Speaker 3: return was surprising because I didn't know she had been
• 35:45
Speaker 3: kind of cleared to come back. But that was great
• 35:49
Speaker 3: that the I mean, everybody lists the show knows. I'm
• 35:51
Speaker 3: a huge Wes Lee fan, known the guy for forever.
• 35:54
Speaker 3: I've known Zach Wentz forever now as well. That was
• 35:57
Speaker 3: just one of the most fun, entertaining. Like Street Fight
• 35:59
Speaker 3: match is in a long time women's tag match was
• 36:04
Speaker 3: a little bit kind of but and I'm kind of
• 36:07
Speaker 3: with you, like the Trick getting the belt back. The
• 36:09
Speaker 3: crowd loves Trick Williams, but man, I can only I
• 36:13
Speaker 3: can only watch so many of his matches and I'm like,
• 36:15
Speaker 3: it's still kind of off at times. To me, that
• 36:18
Speaker 3: was more of a hey, let's put the belt back
• 36:20
Speaker 3: on Trick to let the crowd go home happy. I
• 36:23
Speaker 3: guess his character development arc of trying to figure out
• 36:26
Speaker 3: if he could bounce back after losing the title and
• 36:29
Speaker 3: having to go talk to all the former champions, get
• 36:32
Speaker 3: beat up by Pete Dunn, and then now defeat you know,
• 36:35
Speaker 3: Ethan Page is kind of the.
• 36:36
  Speaker 1: Climax of this.
• 36:39
Speaker 3: And I'm really looking forward to Saria's show because the
• 36:42
Speaker 3: orcuse Me next Tuesday show in Saint Louis. The Tony
• 36:47
Speaker 3: d Obafemi on Miss TV was was pretty entertaining and
• 36:51
Speaker 3: leading into this match and then, uh, I don't know
• 36:54
Speaker 3: if it's been announced, but I saw it on Twitter
• 36:56
Speaker 3: Randy Orton and Javon Evans that.
• 37:00
Speaker 2: Has been announced. I mean they're basically setting it up
• 37:03
Speaker 2: for a wild rcho.
• 37:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, like I am, I am I'm all in on
• 37:07
Speaker 3: that match because it kind of reminds me of the
• 37:11
Speaker 3: Mustafa Aldie Randy Orton stuff before Mustafa got hurt and
• 37:15
Speaker 3: we got Koche Maney out of it.
• 37:17
Speaker 1: So I'm really excited for the show.
• 37:19
  Speaker 3: I like. I don't know if I like the tweaks
• 37:22
Speaker 3: to the belt. I think it's kind of necessary, but
• 37:24
Speaker 3: I do like they say, hey, it's new, it's new show.
• 37:26
Speaker 3: We got you to get new belts. The logo, eh,
• 37:29
Speaker 3: But I like that it's already being referred to as
• 37:32
Speaker 3: the Black and Silver era, So I don't know if
• 37:35
  Speaker 3: I like. I mean, I like it because it's close
• 37:37
Speaker 3: to Black and Goal but not quite there. But also,
• 37:40
Speaker 3: as a forty hundred fan, I hate the Raiders and
• 37:41
Speaker 3: they're the Black and Silver.
• 37:42
  Speaker 1: Okay, I'm born.
• 37:44
Speaker 2: Hey, that's fair enough. Sometimes when those things happen. As
• 37:47
Speaker 2: sports fans, we see our sports fandom come out professional wrestling. Yeah,
• 37:51
Speaker 2: it was a very solid debut on the CW network.
• 37:56
Speaker 2: NXT has been a really good brand over the last
• 37:58
Speaker 2: six months or so, and it's been a very solid
• 38:01
Speaker 2: year for them, and I hope it. Hope it continues.
• 38:05
Speaker 2: I presume Stephanie vak Kor will be coming soon to NXT.
• 38:10
Speaker 2: I think maybe there's some rumblings for her to appear
• 38:13
Speaker 2: in the Saint Louis show. The Tony d Obafemi storyline
• 38:18
Speaker 2: is Rocky three, which is kind of funny because it
• 38:21
Speaker 2: wasn't the whole thing Moxley was complaining about with Sam
• 38:24
Speaker 2: Punk during the aw stuff. I like Punk a lot
• 38:30
Speaker 2: in NXT as well. I think he's a great fit
• 38:34
Speaker 2: when he's on that brand. Again. I think the only
• 38:37
Speaker 2: takeaway Doctor Trey is I hate to say this because
• 38:40
Speaker 2: I really like him as a character. The entering workers
• 38:43
Speaker 2: not that much, and I don't know if they have
• 38:45
Speaker 2: any other choices right now, but I just is it
• 38:48
Speaker 2: possible that w W is potentially pushing Trick Williams down
• 38:52
Speaker 2: our throat a little too much?
• 38:56
Speaker 3: Maybe because he's he's probably the biggest NXT merch mover,
• 39:00
Speaker 3: because whoop that Trick is a fun little chamber, but
• 39:03
Speaker 3: he get behind. I'm just wondering if this move is
• 39:07
Speaker 3: setting up Tony d to defeat Oba Femi, for Oba
• 39:11
Speaker 3: to move up to the heavyweight contendership, you know, and
• 39:15
Speaker 3: move that along, and then we get Trick and Oba
• 39:18
Speaker 3: down the road, and then we can do two African
• 39:21
Speaker 3: American men fighting for the NAC Championship, that type of stuff.
• 39:24
Speaker 3: He's kind of doing the Carmelo trick angle, but with
• 39:28
Speaker 3: a much bigger man. I'm just curious see what they
• 39:32
Speaker 3: do with some of these guys that have been in
• 39:33
Speaker 3: the undercard, like O Wesley his he O run. What
• 39:36
Speaker 3: do you do with Oba Femi since he's been the
• 39:38
Speaker 3: champion for so long? Do you use the time to
• 39:40
Speaker 3: move him up so and then now what do you
• 39:43
Speaker 3: do with Ethan Page with him dropping the belt?
• 39:45
Speaker 1: How does that whole thing play out?
• 39:47
Speaker 3: So it leaves some questions in the storylines and does
• 39:51
Speaker 3: when Stephanie vakor comes in, do we get Stephanie and
• 39:54
Speaker 3: Julia against Roxanne and Korra Because I'm kind of on
• 39:59
Speaker 3: board for that one.
• 40:00
Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I think that is a potential direction that
• 40:03
Speaker 2: they go and keep an eye on the NXC women's
• 40:06
Speaker 2: division because that is about to explode here very soon.
• 40:09
Speaker 2: I mean, they were very, very good under and mid
• 40:12
Speaker 2: card in the NXC women's division. I said months ago,
• 40:15
Speaker 2: I thought it was one of the most deepest women's
• 40:16
Speaker 2: division in all professional wrestling, and I feel like we're
• 40:20
Speaker 2: on the verge of it. Exploding here in late twenty
• 40:23
Speaker 2: twenty four and certainly in twenty twenty five with some
• 40:25
Speaker 2: really big additions. Delta, who I've read some good things
• 40:28
Speaker 2: about from the Australian wrestling scene. As I mentioned before,
• 40:31
Speaker 2: Stephanie Vakhor, who we saw at Forbiddendor in aw New
• 40:36
Speaker 2: Japan back in June, Julia who we've been seeing here.
• 40:39
Speaker 2: Roxanne Perez has been really good as a heel. Cor
• 40:42
Speaker 2: Jate is really good as a heel, so I'm happy
• 40:43
Speaker 2: to see her back. Klonnie Jordan has been very fun
• 40:46
Speaker 2: as a North American women's champion. So yeah, keep an
• 40:50
Speaker 2: eye on the NXC women's division, folk, because that may
• 40:53
Speaker 2: be the most exciting wrestling division in all of professional wrestling.
• 40:58
Speaker 2: Soon enough, so views on the CW Network. I did
• 41:02
Speaker 2: not know I had the CW Network, so that was
• 41:04
Speaker 2: very exciting to find once they made this announcement. So
• 41:07
Speaker 2: congrats all around, very solid show. Looking forward to Saint
• 41:09
Speaker 2: Louis this upcoming Tuesday. Speaking of upcoming shows, Doctor Trey,
• 41:14
Speaker 2: we have Bad Blood premium predictions here takes place this
• 41:18
Speaker 2: Saturday from the State Farm Marine in Atlanta, Georgia. Before
• 41:20
Speaker 2: we go match by match, Bad Blood is an old
• 41:24
Speaker 2: wrestling pay per view. It was the debut of Helena
• 41:28
Speaker 2: sel Seawn Michaels and The Undertaker back in ninety seven.
• 41:32
Speaker 2: I think it will be on October fifth, ninety seven.
• 41:35
Speaker 2: It was then in your House Bad Blood. When do
• 41:38
Speaker 2: you think the last WA bad When was the last
• 41:42
Speaker 2: time WA had a pay per view named bad Blood?
• 41:46
Speaker 3: I'm gonna say s i' musa say two thousand, two
• 41:51
  Speaker 3: thousand and one.
• 41:53
Speaker 2: Very close. It was two thousand and four, So twenty
• 41:55
Speaker 2: years later, Bad Blood has returned. Let's get to the
• 42:00
Speaker 2: first match on the card here. It's gonna be Damian
• 42:04
Speaker 2: Priest taking on Finn Balor. This is a tough one
• 42:07
Speaker 2: to call Doctor Trey, but I'm gonna go with Damian Priest.
• 42:11
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 42:12
Speaker 3: This one's tricky because typically these rivalries last a little while,
• 42:17
Speaker 3: and this is their first one on one meeting. I
• 42:20
Speaker 3: think I'm gonna take Finn stealing a victory here, So
• 42:23
Speaker 3: I'll take Finn stealing one from Damian Priest to set
• 42:27
Speaker 3: up the rematch with some kind of you know, stipulation
• 42:30
  Speaker 3: on it.
• 42:31
Speaker 2: Next match is Live Morgan taken on Rida Ripley for
• 42:33
Speaker 2: the WA Women's World Championship. Dirty Dom we suspended above
• 42:37
Speaker 2: the ring in a shark cage. Who do you like
• 42:39
Speaker 2: in this one? Doctor Trey?
• 42:40
Speaker 3: See this one's tricky also because liv won the last one,
• 42:44
Speaker 3: so you expect Ria to get a revenge. But if
• 42:46
Speaker 3: I'm not mistaken, the last couple times we've had people
• 42:50
Speaker 3: in shark cages, the heels have won those matches, Like
• 42:54
Speaker 3: I remember Paul Ellering being in one for an AOP
• 42:57
Speaker 3: match in NXT and he was able to drop stuff
• 43:00
Speaker 3: down to help them win. So I think I'm gonna
• 43:06
Speaker 3: take Ria thoughs I think everybody wants to see Ria
• 43:08
Speaker 3: get the wins. I think I'll take Ria getting the
• 43:09
Speaker 3: win in becoming the new women's champion.
• 43:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take Ria Ripley as well. I'm really
• 43:14
Speaker 2: looking forward to this one. I like the sharkage element,
• 43:16
Speaker 2: I like Dirty Don being in the shark cage, and
• 43:19
Speaker 2: this has been a good few but I think it's
• 43:21
Speaker 2: time to put the championship back on Rihea lives had
• 43:23
Speaker 2: a great run with the title, but I'd like to
• 43:26
Speaker 2: see Ria get the championship back on because if she
• 43:28
Speaker 2: doesn't get it now, I guess when will she get it?
• 43:31
Speaker 2: Because we're gonna head into war games, which she may
• 43:34
Speaker 2: be involved with, and then we're looking at what maybe
• 43:37
Speaker 2: the first episode on Netflix, maybe they do a rematch
• 43:40
Speaker 2: with her and live for that episode, because you got
• 43:42
Speaker 2: to figure that's gonna be who huge episode. So I
• 43:45
Speaker 2: can't see them going a couple more months without Ria
• 43:48
Speaker 2: having having the championship around her way. So I'm gonna
• 43:50
Speaker 2: go with Ria Ripley to regain the WA Women's World Championship.
• 43:55
Speaker 2: Next batch year is Naijacks defending the WA Women's Championship
• 43:58
Speaker 2: against Bailey. I'm gonna take Naya Jackson this one. And
• 44:01
Speaker 2: for all the good things that we say about creative,
• 44:04
Speaker 2: well I like the creative that got us to this match,
• 44:06
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey. I just kind of feel like that the
• 44:08
Speaker 2: SmackDown Went's division has been a little bit too one dimensional,
• 44:11
Speaker 2: with Nijack's Bailey matches taking place a lot.
• 44:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, outside of Naya Bailey and Tiffitty Stretton, who I
• 44:17
Speaker 3: don't even know who else is on the SmackDown Women's
• 44:19
Speaker 3: roster pretty much like that's pretty much all we ever see.
• 44:22
Speaker 2: So yeah, really Blair Davenport's on there, but that's kind
• 44:26
  Speaker 2: of falling off.
• 44:27
Speaker 3: Yeah, but I thought Blair was doing stuff with the
• 44:29
Speaker 3: Unholy Union at times, and they're on raws, so it's
• 44:32
Speaker 3: just like she's on their roster. But then we see
• 44:35
Speaker 3: her pop up on PL's they get involved in, you know, Alba,
• 44:39
Speaker 3: Fire Island Dawn matches. So I'm looking forward when they
• 44:43
Speaker 3: shake their rosters up to get some more women back
• 44:45
Speaker 3: on SmackDown or with SmackDown goes to three hours. I'm
• 44:48
Speaker 3: with you, though, I'm taking Naya to retain just because
• 44:52
Speaker 3: it feels like she needs a little bit of time
• 44:54
Speaker 3: with the Belt. I know it's hard to book this
• 44:57
Speaker 3: because Nya's amm and she has Tiffany stretton kind of
• 45:01
Speaker 3: his backup, but I mean this could be where she
• 45:04
Speaker 3: gets on an dominant ron and she goes, you know,
• 45:08
Speaker 3: three hundred days with the Belt, and then whoever thrones
• 45:10
Speaker 3: are is a big push.
• 45:11
Speaker 1: So I'll take Naye at retaining right now.
• 45:14
Speaker 2: Keep an eye on the stuff with Tiffany Stratton. They
• 45:15
Speaker 2: are starting to lead up to the idea of Tiffany
• 45:20
Speaker 2: eventually turning on Nie and maybe cashing in. I thought
• 45:23
Speaker 2: this whole stuff with n I was gonna be leading
• 45:24
Speaker 2: to the return of Charlotte Flair Queen versus Queen but
• 45:27
Speaker 2: there's some rumors out there that Charlotte may not be
• 45:30
Speaker 2: back in twenty twenty four at all from the injury
• 45:32
Speaker 2: she sustained back in December of twenty twenty three. Next
• 45:37
Speaker 2: match here, and I think I thought this match should
• 45:39
Speaker 2: be headlining main eventing the show Doctor Trey. According to reports,
• 45:42
Speaker 2: it'll be the opener CM Punk versus Drew McIntyre in
• 45:47
Speaker 2: a Helen of Cell match. Who do you like in
• 45:49
  Speaker 2: this one?
• 45:50
Speaker 3: Yeah? See, baby Faces and Helen of Cell matches typically
• 45:55
Speaker 3: have the upper hand, so I'm gonna take Punk. Plus
• 45:58
Speaker 3: I feel like they might move Punk on to Gunther
• 46:00
Speaker 3: or something else, so I'm gonna say Punk getting the win.
• 46:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take Seampunk as well. The reports out
• 46:06
Speaker 2: there right now that we'll be getting Punk and gun
• 46:07
Speaker 2: through here soon enough. And then what is reportedly main
• 46:11
Speaker 2: eventing Doctor Trey will be Cody Roads and Roman Reigns
• 46:13
Speaker 2: taking on Solica Coo on Jacob Fat two. This is
• 46:16
Speaker 2: a real tough one to call. I want to choose
• 46:19
Speaker 2: Solo in Jacob Fat two, but I'm gonna go with
• 46:21
Speaker 2: Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns in this one to win
• 46:24
  Speaker 2: this match.
• 46:25
Speaker 3: Do you feel like our predicted Survivor series wargame match
• 46:29
Speaker 3: with the Bloodline against the OG blood Line is completely
• 46:32
Speaker 3: out the window, and we get Cody, Roman, Randy and
• 46:35
Speaker 3: Ko against the New Blood Line.
• 46:37
Speaker 2: I do think that may be the direction, not even Yeah,
• 46:40
Speaker 2: I was thinking that during that actual actually that segment
• 46:43
Speaker 2: where Cody was talking with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton
• 46:46
Speaker 2: and they were setting up I think the tag team
• 46:48
Speaker 2: match later that tonight for SmackDown.
• 46:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, So, on one hand's kind of disappointing that we
• 46:53
Speaker 3: might not get O G Bloodline against New Blood Line
• 46:56
Speaker 3: anytime soon, but that with the storyline, it could be
• 46:59
Speaker 3: very freaking does do we get Ko or Randy turning
• 47:02
Speaker 3: on Cody in the cell for war Games? But it's
• 47:07
Speaker 3: hard to pick because I really want to pick Solo
• 47:09
Speaker 3: and Jacob because I think I think they need the
• 47:12
Speaker 3: win more than Cody and Roman, so I think they
• 47:18
Speaker 3: wanna take the upset. They're gonna take Solo and Jacob
• 47:20
Speaker 3: getting the win over Roman and Cody.
• 47:22
Speaker 2: Who should be main eventing Bad Blood in your opinion,
• 47:25
  Speaker 2: by the way.
• 47:26
Speaker 3: See I'm punk and Drew McIntyre. Yeah, it's the better feud,
• 47:31
  Speaker 3: it's the more I mean that's the feud. I mean
• 47:33
Speaker 3: you look all the blood all of a sudden they've
• 47:35
Speaker 3: put into this. Like, I get the storyline is great,
• 47:38
Speaker 3: but you know for Cody and Roman and all that stuff.
• 47:41
Speaker 3: But I mean, this feud has kind of carried the
• 47:43
Speaker 3: company for the past four or five six months.
• 47:47
Speaker 2: I think something big is going to happen and that
• 47:49
Speaker 2: is why this match is headlining Bad Blood. I don't
• 47:54
Speaker 2: know if you saw the clip this week, Doctor Trey,
• 47:56
Speaker 2: but Cody Rhodes was on the Pat McAfee show and
• 47:59
Speaker 2: they clip I think on McAfee's account or something, and
• 48:04
Speaker 2: it was some sort of and wrestled Puris pulled it
• 48:06
Speaker 2: off of Twitter and Cody Rhodes going around thinking everybody
• 48:09
Speaker 2: for having him on the show. And you hear Pat
• 48:11
Speaker 2: McAfee said, I heard we're getting the big Guy back
• 48:15
Speaker 2: this weekend, and Cody kind of was like caught off guard,
• 48:19
Speaker 2: like holy crap, he knows and he's like, what big
• 48:22
Speaker 2: guy are you talking about? And I think it was
• 48:25
Speaker 2: something like like the big Guy And to me, I
• 48:27
Speaker 2: jumped to either Paul Hayman or the Rock, so it
• 48:32
Speaker 2: could be Paul Hayman returns. That's the big guy that
• 48:36
Speaker 2: Pat McAfee's talking about, but I'm also thinking when he
• 48:39
Speaker 2: says the big guy, he may be meeting Dwayne the
• 48:42
Speaker 2: Rock Johnson. I think something big is going down this
• 48:45
Speaker 2: Saturday at Bad Blood.
• 48:46
Speaker 1: Doctor Trey Well, and if that's the case, I saw that.
• 48:50
Speaker 1: I'm sure he saw it too.
• 48:52
Speaker 3: Brock Lesner has been added back onto the WWE page,
• 48:56
Speaker 3: so Brock could be a big guy.
• 48:58
Speaker 1: But I don't think Brock fits in here.
• 48:59
Speaker 3: But if Rock comes back, I mean Rock and solo
• 49:05
Speaker 3: against Brock and Roman at some points, you know, like that,
• 49:08
Speaker 3: it would be kind of cool, and we've never seen
• 49:09
Speaker 3: that happen. So yeah, I do think if this is
• 49:13
Speaker 3: the main event, you're getting something big to happen at
• 49:16
Speaker 3: the end of the match, because otherwise you'd go with
• 49:18
  Speaker 3: punkin McIntire.
• 49:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, So interesting times ahead to here Bad Blood this
