- 0:23chickens. Hey good morning from the
- 0:28chicken coop so today I want to talk to you about lessons from
- 0:33the Buddha, and I think it's important to whatever religion,
- 0:38you are, wherever you are in the process to all, look at what
- 0:42everybody's learning and kind of pull the best and have all the
- 0:45little gold and gems that you can from all the different
- 0:49practices. So, over time, I will be
- 0:52bringing you a little gold and gems from all the great thought
- 0:55leaders religious philosophers, all of them.
- 0:58Because I think that all contribute to our well-being.
- 1:00But today, I want to give you some thoughts from Buddhism and
- 1:04Buddha. And I want to remind everybody
- 1:08that Buddhism is not necessarily a religion.
- 1:12A lot of people believe it's a religion, but it's not a
- 1:14religion as much as it is, a practice, a true.
- 1:17Buddhist will tell you. Buddhism is a practice.
- 1:20We practice, we do not, it's not a religion, but it is a way of
- 1:24thinking. It's a mindset.
- 1:26It is basically a practice, And why do they call it a practice?
- 1:32Well, because they don't believe that anything is ever Master.
- 1:36Quite honestly, all the great people that I have ever studied
- 1:39under have all said the same thing.
- 1:41This is not about me getting somewhere and saying I'm a
- 1:44master at something. It says, I practice, you know, I
- 1:47love that when the Dalai Lama was questioned once about
- 1:50meditating, because it's such a Buddhist thing to do and how
- 1:54hard it is. He said, well, I think the
- 1:57greatest form of meditation is sleep and Everybody in the room
- 2:00was like, what? And he, yes.
- 2:03I think the greatest meditation is sleep because it's one that's
- 2:06designed for everybody to tap into right away, very
- 2:09organically in our life. And I think we forget and we
- 2:12take sleep as like a, you know, unless you can't sleep.
- 2:16And then you realize how important sleep is.
- 2:17We take sleep for granted, and it's really a beautiful way to
- 2:23rest your mind, and go into a place of Peace.
- 2:28As long as you're setting yourself up.
- 2:29To win, not watching the news first and doing all those
- 2:32things. However, let me back to this
- 2:33practice so Buddhism really teaches us that we practice
- 2:40mindfulness throughout our life. Meaning how we conduct ourselves
- 2:45being very aware of our actions, our speech?
- 2:50Our Our intentions, throughout the way, even how we conduct
- 2:55ourselves in our work, what we do are we aligned with what we
- 2:59think of ourselves as on a higher level, it's all part of a
- 3:03practice, the effort we put into things everything about it,
- 3:07teaches that we should do things thoughtfully and in alignment,
- 3:12thoughtfully and in alignment. So why I wanted to bring this up
- 3:15today is I think that a lot of us are feel fractured right now.
- 3:20And we don't feel like we're alive.
- 3:22With a lot of the stuff that we want to be, and we want to have
- 3:25as an outcome and we feel like we're behind.
- 3:27We feel like gosh, so far behind them so far behind.
- 3:31I'm never going to get caught up, blah, blah, blah.
- 3:34This ideal of being in a state of practice has saved me.
- 3:40So many nights of Heartache. I can't even express to you.
- 3:44Just doing this podcast. When I started it off, I got
- 3:48into my certainty girl. And I was just like, oh, I can't
- 3:51Launch it till this and I can't do this and I done it at.
- 3:54I had all these stories and my coach, who happens to be
- 3:59Buddhist said, was talking to me about the fact that, well, this
- 4:04is just practice right now. Let's just stop and pause.
- 4:06And remember. And I was like, no, he's right.
- 4:08And I have many different resources that I go to, but why
- 4:12I choose that particular one and him is because I need to have
- 4:17this settling voice of just knowing there is no perfection.
- 4:21Everything is practice. We are all on a road of an
- 4:25alignment and Enlightenment to our higher selves.
- 4:28How we get, there is different for every one of us, and we have
- 4:31to make space and have Grace for everyone in the process of how
- 4:34they're doing it. And sometimes we look at it, we
- 4:36go, oh my God. What the hell is this person
- 4:38doing? But we have to say, Okay, that's
- 4:42where that soul is. I've offered help.
- 4:44I've offered guidance, they choose not to take it.
- 4:46I can't force that and when we release that and love them
- 4:50anyway, As Wayne Dyer, always gracefully said you can say
- 4:56thank you for sharing. I understand.
- 4:58I love you anyway and I'm still going to move on to this
- 5:01direction which I just, I just love the fact that I can let go
- 5:06of people in my life. I can send them love.
- 5:09I don't have to be angry with them, but I don't have to put
- 5:12energy to it. And this is part of the
- 5:14practice. This is part of accepting things
- 5:18where it is and not feeling behind, not feeling Rush, not
- 5:20feeling pressure, Because that's not going to help us get
- 5:23anywhere. So, today, I want you to start
- 5:25thinking really pointed thoughts about am I being aligned with
- 5:31what my bigger outcomes are. Am I allowing myself to practice
- 5:35and take that thought in practice, practice practice,
- 5:38which is the essence of what? Everything that Buddhism teaches
- 5:42the foundational piece of it. Is, it is a practice and we
- 5:46never get to our destination. We are because we're and
- 5:49truthfully, we're always refining our a nation because
- 5:52what we think we want along the way, always shifts.
- 5:54And then we have to move a little bit, and we have to move
- 5:56a little bit. So it's always alignment and
- 5:58practice alignment and practice alignment in practice.
- 6:01And I want you to take that with your debt into your day, and
- 6:03into your week and see how that can affect your outcome.
- 6:06See how that can make you feel better about things immediately?
- 6:09Because I know it sure does for me and this is all about me,
- 6:12giving you tools that work for me and my clients and giving
- 6:17them out to the world and letting them see him.
- 6:18So, today have fun looking at this.
- 6:21And remember, And this is a practice of how you see
- 6:23yourself, how you speak, how you look at the world?
- 6:27How you put your effort out there, everything is a practice
- 6:30and there's always room to get better and there's always room
- 6:32to identify more. I hope you have a great day, my
- 6:36friends and I will see you tomorrow.
