- 0:01Forces that operate in the world are not necessarily hostile,
- 0:05even if their effect on any particular individual appears to
- 0:09be extremely negative. These forces operate on a large
- 0:13scale to carry out their own role and fulfillment without
- 0:17specific regard to whom may be impacted.
- 0:21When an earthquake or a tsunami strikes, for instance, it is not
- 0:25aimed at a particular person who happens to be among those
- 0:29affected. Similarly, large scale vital
- 0:33forces such as the fear that spreads as part of a pandemic,
- 0:37are also not generally directed at specific individuals, but are
- 0:42simply vibrating at their own frequency and spreading out.
- 0:47Those who are receptive to the vibration then feel it, and in
- 0:51many cases they take up and resonate with that vibration.
- 0:57Because we tend to identify ourselves with the specific ego
- 1:01personality within which we are living and acting, we take the
- 1:05impacts personally. In many cases, if we are unable
- 1:10to observe the movement of these energies from outside, we
- 1:14attribute them to something that belongs to us that we create
- 1:18within ourselves. When we try to address the
- 1:21consequences and impacts of these energies, we then struggle
- 1:26with them as we treat them as somehow part of ourselves,
- 1:29rather than recognizing that they are part of a much larger
- 1:33play of forces that are constantly moving through the
- 1:36manifested creation. There are of course also highly
- 1:42conscious beings who live and act primarily at different
- 1:46frequency levels than we are capable of within our human
- 1:49range of perception. In some cases they can overlap
- 1:54our frequencies and create energies and harvest energies
- 1:58that ordinarily are part of our range of perception and action.
- 2:03In some cases they have a specific agenda, sometimes to
- 2:08harvest energy that they use for their sustenance, and even in
- 2:13some cases they may exercise purely constructive or
- 2:17destructive energies for their own enjoyment or to carry out
- 2:22their agenda. This is not dissimilar to the
- 2:25way humans capture other species and hold them captive and make
- 2:30them perform for our enjoyment. The harm we cause to these
- 2:34species and the restriction of their lives is rarely a concern
- 2:39for us when we undertake these acts.
- 2:42Similarly, conscious beings at a different level of manifestation
- 2:47may find their enjoyment in making us react and respond to
- 2:52their prodding. From a practical standpoint, for
- 2:57the sodic attempting to make progress in his spiritual
- 3:00pursuit, it is always best to distance oneself from whatever
- 3:05forces or energies arise, so as to not struggle as if it is an
- 3:10embedded part of oneself. Thus, we see the benefit of
- 3:14attaining the poise associated with the witness consciousness,
- 3:18observing the external nature even at the level of the
- 3:22individual, whether or not one can observe the movement of the
- 3:27force from outside oneself. From this standpoint, all active
- 3:32energies are treated as outside oneself, A disciple asks, do
- 3:39these hostile forces generally come from outside or inside?
- 3:45The Mother observes. If you think or feel that they
- 3:49come from inside, you have possibly opened yourself to them
- 3:53and they have settled in you unnoticed.
- 3:55The true nature of things is one of harmony, but there is a
- 3:59distortion in certain worlds that brings in perversion and
- 4:02hostility. If you have a strong affinity
- 4:06for these worlds of distortion, you can become friends with the
- 4:10beings that are there and answer fully to them.
- 4:13That happens, but it is not a very happy condition.
- 4:18The consciousness is at once blinded, and you cannot
- 4:22distinguish the true from the false.
- 4:24You cannot even tell what is a lie and what is not.
- 4:29In any case, when an attack comes, the wisest attitude is to
- 4:33consider that it comes from outside, and to say this is not
- 4:38myself and I will have nothing to do with it.
- 4:41You have to deal in the same way with all lower impulses and
- 4:45desires and all doubts and questionings in the mind.
- 4:49If you identify yourself with them, the difficulty in fighting
- 4:53them becomes all the greater, for then you have the feeling
- 4:57that you're facing the never easy task of overcoming your own
- 5:02nature. But once you are able to say,
- 5:05no, this is not myself, I will have nothing to do with it, it
- 5:11becomes much easier to disperse them.
