- 0:00Speaker 1: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 0:07Speaker 2: If you have a secret, bring it on. Make it good.
- 0:09Speaker 3: It's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh. It doesn't
- 0:12Speaker 3: matter what the confession is. It just feels good to
- 0:14Speaker 3: get it off your chest.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:15Speaker 3: I think next week we're going to confess something for
- 0:18Speaker 3: Dirty Little Secret. At least I said I would. I
- 0:20Speaker 3: don't know if Candace will. I will, yeah.
- 0:21Speaker 2: I don't know if you'll like it. Yeah, I will.
- 0:22Speaker 2: What do you mean you don't know if we'll like it? Well,
- 0:24Speaker 2: you think my secrets are weak. Well, because they are.
- 0:28Speaker 1: They are. I'll give you a weak secret.
- 0:30Speaker 3: The last time we did this, we said you went
- 0:32Speaker 3: last and we said all these like deep secrets we've
- 0:34Speaker 3: never said on the air.
- 0:35Speaker 2: And she's like, I got a secret. Sometimes I cook
- 0:38Speaker 2: this and don't tell Eric that there's salt in it.
- 0:42Speaker 2: And we're like, what? That was your secret. So either way,
- 0:45Speaker 2: we might do it next week. But you're right. I
- 0:47Speaker 2: got to make sure your secret is good.
- 0:49Speaker 1: All right.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Seek your soft secrets. Your diet secrets. Fine.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:56Speaker 2: They're light. All right. 833-787-1029 if you got one, and
- 0:59Speaker 2: you do.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So I have a work secret that could get me
- 1:03Speaker 1: fired immediately because this is crazy. It's the wrong person here.
- 1:08Speaker 2: What is going on?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, so about a year and a half ago,
- 1:12Speaker 1: my company closed our main office and moved, I'd say,
- 1:15Speaker 1: about 90% of us to working from home, and I
- 1:18Speaker 1: was one of them, right?
- 1:19Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So not to brag, not to brag, but I can
- 1:23Speaker 1: do this in my sleep. Like, eyes closed, I just
- 1:26Speaker 1: sit at a computer all day, answer emails, I think, think.
- 1:29Speaker 1: You get it.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:30Speaker 1: It's not a big deal, you know what I mean?
- 1:32Speaker 1: And it pays good. But it's definitely not exciting. So
- 1:37Speaker 1: after a couple of months of working from home, I
- 1:39Speaker 1: was so bored. And I just wanted to sleep half
- 1:42Speaker 1: the time, okay? But don't worry about it. And I
- 1:44Speaker 1: was seriously considering quitting.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Then I said, you know what?
- 1:50Speaker 1: I have a friend who has a disability and has
- 1:53Speaker 1: a ton of free time. I offered to pay them
- 1:56Speaker 1: every week to basically sit at the computer, keep me active,
- 1:59Speaker 1: move the mouse around, okay? So it looks like I'm working.
- 2:03Speaker 3: So you hire, wait, you said that you have a
- 2:06Speaker 3: friend on disability who does. So you hired someone to
- 2:11Speaker 3: do your job for you.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:15Speaker 2: How's that working out? Yeah. How can you do that?
- 2:18Speaker 3: But how do you– so you're not paying them– you're
- 2:21Speaker 3: obviously not paying them your full salary because then you'd
- 2:23Speaker 3: be like.
- 2:24Speaker 2: How do you survive?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Because, I mean, so you've got to consider they're already
- 2:28Speaker 1: getting disabilities. So I'm just giving them a little sharp shot,
- 2:31Speaker 1: and this has really been working out. And nobody at
- 2:35Speaker 1: my company has caught on whatsoever.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And in the meantime, I'm living my best life. And
- 2:44Speaker 1: I feel like I'm unemployed, but I'm completely employed. So
- 2:48Speaker 1: what are you doing?
- 2:49Speaker 2: Oh, you're just doing your thing. She's doing Real Housewives Live. Yeah,
- 2:54Speaker 2: she is.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Exactly. I run errands, go shopping sometimes. Now, you're going
- 3:00Speaker 1: to think this is strange, but I door dash during
- 3:03Speaker 1: my workday to make extra money while somebody else is
- 3:06Speaker 1: at my house doing the job I'm currently being paid for.
- 3:09Speaker 1: And I got, you know, other little side hustles where
- 3:13Speaker 1: I find stuff cheap, flip it, sell it on Facebook market.
- 3:17Speaker 2: So you got.
- 3:17Speaker 1: So you're doing door dash?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you're making money.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Huh.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Golly. I don't know if this is the smartest... This
- 3:24Speaker 2: might be the smartest plan I've ever heard.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I mean.
- 3:27Speaker 2: People outsource things all the time. This makes sense. Yeah,
- 3:30Speaker 2: you basically outsourced your own job without permission. Right.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Wow.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You got to think outside the box, okay?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I mean, would they? Of course they would care.
- 3:42Speaker 3: I'm not going to say your work wouldn't care because
- 3:44Speaker 3: they have no idea what's going on, but the job's
- 3:46Speaker 3: getting done.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Exactly. The job is getting done. My boss is happy.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I've never missed a deadline. Nobody's complaining about my performance.
- 3:55Speaker 1: In fact, I got a good review. So part of
- 3:58Speaker 1: me is like, who cares? Who cares?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Right. They don't care.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah, she's just sitting back, clicking her mouth. And obviously
- 4:07Speaker 1: my company would care, which is why I'm calling you
- 4:09Speaker 1: guys anonymously. This isn't even my voice.
- 4:16Speaker 2: You are.
- 4:17Speaker 1: You're something else.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I need a side hustle. I need, like... You sound
- 4:22Speaker 2: super happy.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I'm wondering if I could pay someone to do this
- 4:24Speaker 3: and then I go out and do something else and
- 4:26Speaker 3: double dip.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You're double dipping.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yes, he is.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Well, you know what?
- 4:30Speaker 3: Living your best life. You got all the time in
- 4:32Speaker 3: the world to do whatever you want. And, I mean,
- 4:34Speaker 3: I do understand that. Like, I would get bored working
- 4:37Speaker 3: from home. You do kind of go crazy. So you
- 4:39Speaker 3: just got to do something. And this way you get
- 4:42Speaker 3: to do whatever you want. You get some more money.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It all works out.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And.
- 4:46Speaker 2: So you're making.
- 4:47Speaker 3: More money, even when you're paying, as you're paying someone
- 4:50Speaker 3: to do your job, you're still making more money than
- 4:52Speaker 3: you would if you were just working your job.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yes, I am. And doing that is actually kind of fun.
- 4:57Speaker 1: You know what I mean? People don't tip like they should,
- 5:00Speaker 1: but it's interesting. I've met a lot of people and
- 5:03Speaker 1: stuff like that. I feel busy, like I'm moving and
- 5:07Speaker 1: in the sun.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Like productive.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Being at home is fun. Yeah, yeah. Being at home
- 5:12Speaker 1: all the time, I'm bored out of my mind.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I wonder if there's other people who do this. I'm
- 5:16Speaker 3: going to find out. If you do this, let me know.
- 5:17Speaker 3: But thank you for your secret, and good for you.
- 5:20Speaker 3: And don't worry, if I get you as a DoorDash,
- 5:22Speaker 3: I'll tip you well.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Okay?
- 5:23Speaker 2: Okay. Hook me up. All right. You're an evil genius.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Thank you. Have a good one.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:30Speaker 1: You too.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Too many people ideas out there now.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Right?
- 5:33Speaker 2: I wonder if I could do that. Don't try it
- 5:35Speaker 2: at home.
