• 2:23
[SPEAKER_09]: Your brand new third favorite RPG podcast.
• 2:28
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm your dungeon master and co-host, Tacy Papas, he, him, and with me are our players.
• 2:33
  [SPEAKER_04]: Robin Langenhop, they, them.
• 2:35
  [SPEAKER_04]: Sarah McStay, they, them.
• 2:37
  [SPEAKER_09]: Max Weinberg, he, him.
• 2:39
[SPEAKER_09]: We're a group of actors, writers and friends using the structure of RPGs to explore genres that don't normally see the light of a tabletop.
• 2:48
[SPEAKER_09]: As GM, I'll present the world and the people and circumstances within it, and the other three players will venture through that world in character.
• 2:57
[SPEAKER_09]: For campaign one, we'll be using good old fashioned D&D-5E.
• 3:01
  [SPEAKER_09]: But if you're new to D&D, don't fret.
• 3:03
[SPEAKER_09]: You should be able to hop right into the story without knowing any of the mechanics, but nuts and bolts, the nuts and butts.
• 3:10
  [SPEAKER_04]: What?
• 3:11
[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no, no, no, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
• 3:28
  [SPEAKER_09]: the bad lands.
• 3:30
[SPEAKER_09]: A truly God forsaken place.
• 3:33
[SPEAKER_09]: You'd have to be crazy to leave the safety of three for its sands, or maybe just desperate.
• 3:39
[SPEAKER_09]: But this desert wasteland is more than an abuse.
• 3:43
[SPEAKER_09]: For some, the call is impossible to ignore.
• 3:47
  [SPEAKER_09]: The call for adventure.
• 3:49
  [SPEAKER_09]: The call for action.
• 3:51
  [SPEAKER_09]: The call of freedom.
• 3:52
[SPEAKER_09]: Or perhaps the call of a past unforgotten
• 3:56
[SPEAKER_09]: or the most dangerous of them all, the call of the unknown.
• 4:02
[SPEAKER_09]: Legend has it that beneath this blighted earth something truly powerful lies dormant, awaiting the lucky, or perhaps unlucky, gun slinger to uncover it.
• 4:15
[SPEAKER_09]: And let's hear a little bit about the characters.
• 4:18
[SPEAKER_04]: Hayden Concade, aka the Stranger.
• 4:21
[SPEAKER_04]: Once a lowly pick pocket, now a shape-shifting bounty hunter known across the badlands for taking on a different face for every job.
• 4:30
[SPEAKER_04]: You may meet them as a sweet, innocent, school child, or as the Contanker is town drunk.
• 4:36
[SPEAKER_04]: But three things will give them away.
• 4:39
[SPEAKER_04]: The last mile, the era doesn't feather in their hat of disguise, and their crossbow bolt pierced in your heart.
• 4:46
[SPEAKER_04]: Will bring them to the badlands?
• 4:49
[SPEAKER_04]: That's Hayden's business and none of yours, friend.
• 4:51
[SPEAKER_04]: If you know that true name or true face, best I'll run in sweet heart, because the
• 5:00
  [SPEAKER_02]: Well, hi there, darling.
• 5:02
[SPEAKER_02]: Solamae Brire was born and raised in the Badlands by trio, a traveling sisters, but she's been living the half-a-loop in life lately as a social-at-and-thread.
• 5:11
[SPEAKER_02]: She never was as gifted a healer as her mama, God's rest her soul, but she carries on the family legacy as a paladin of the Brire sisters' healing tradition.
• 5:20
[SPEAKER_02]: And now folks are always saying once you leave, you can't go home again, but Solamae's headed back to the Badlands to see about all that for herself.
• 5:27
[SPEAKER_02]: Solamae Brire, pleasure to make your acquaintance.
• 5:30
[SPEAKER_07]: Stump Stainling, former thief at expert in poisons, he left that life for a nice quiet one up in the mountains and he used his skills to become an apothecary.
• 5:40
[SPEAKER_07]: Earlier today someone from Stump's past came by to give him a not so friendly hello and done instead of sticking around for the party he decided to leave his wife and kid for their safety and set out to find whatever it is these people looking for before they could find it.
• 5:57
[SPEAKER_09]: Are we ready to get this thing started?
• 6:00
  [SPEAKER_10]: Absolutely not.
• 6:01
  [SPEAKER_10]: Now, let's, let's, let's, oh, excited.
• 6:04
  [SPEAKER_09]: Too bad?
• 6:05
  [SPEAKER_09]: We're diving in.
• 6:07
[SPEAKER_02]: To get us in nuts and buds of this campaign.
• 6:13
  [SPEAKER_09]: Night.
• 6:15
[SPEAKER_09]: Stars glisten in the night sky like diamonds laying on black velvet.
• 6:20
[SPEAKER_09]: It's a clear night, and only the pines, and farther out the grandire and mountains, served to obscure it.
• 6:29
[SPEAKER_09]: Deep within these pines, at the foot of this range, lies the small town of Mountain Creek, a sleepy logging town.
• 6:38
[SPEAKER_09]: And up the single avenue of this town runs a small figure, desperate to be indoors.
• 6:46
  [SPEAKER_09]: Stump.
• 6:47
[SPEAKER_09]: As a deep gnome, you've long overcome many fears of the dark you may have had, but on this night, as even the woods seem frozen and stillness, the darkness seems tangible, alive.
• 7:03
[SPEAKER_09]: As if at any moment, it could reach out a hand, and you slam the door to your house close behind you and pause, your heart and your throat.
• 7:14
[SPEAKER_09]: an oil lamp lights the small living room of the cabin casting exaggerated shadows on its walls in an armchair now rising to her feet is your wife Kate.
• 7:26
[SPEAKER_09]: Stop she says oh thank goodness you're home so late I was concerned something
• 7:40
[SPEAKER_07]: I just I was so worried you you stayed to lock up the apothecary and I don't know where you won't I was just I was just working on some orders for tomorrow you know just making some potions for everybody but this is going to be kind of a kind of a surprise but I need to go.
• 8:01
  [SPEAKER_07]: go.
• 8:02
[SPEAKER_07]: What are you talking about?
• 8:03
[SPEAKER_07]: So, so you know how my, how before I came to this town, you know, before I came here and before I met you, I did some things that I, you know, I wasn't too proud of necessarily.
• 8:18
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but that, but that's all behind you.
• 8:20
[SPEAKER_07]: It was, but I need to, I got a visit from an old friend
• 8:29
[SPEAKER_07]: think it would be better if I, if I left for a little bit for both your safety and mine.
• 8:44
[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, what does this mean?
• 8:47
[SPEAKER_07]: Where are you going to go?
• 8:48
  [SPEAKER_07]: I don't know exactly where I need to go, but I...
• 8:54
[SPEAKER_07]: I am just, I'm very concerned that if I stay here, it's going to, there's people will come back.
• 9:02
[SPEAKER_07]: for you and I think they're after this.
• 9:04
[SPEAKER_07]: And I hold up, take off from my neck, I was really small, silver pendant that I've had just on me for a very long time.
• 9:14
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, you show it to her and at that moment, you hear a small voice coming from the hallway that leads into the back rooms.
• 9:21
[SPEAKER_09]: Daddy, hey kid, in the doorway stands your daughter.
• 9:26
[SPEAKER_09]: Um, Sally, a tight, just tiny deep known rubbing her eyes as she's extremely tired and she says, Daddy, where have you been?
• 9:39
  [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, sorry.
• 9:40
[SPEAKER_07]: I was at the store.
• 9:42
[SPEAKER_07]: Just finishing up some orders for some people making some extra stock.
• 9:47
  [SPEAKER_07]: Because, come here, kid.
• 9:50
[SPEAKER_09]: She runs over to you.
• 9:53
[SPEAKER_07]: I get down on a knee on her level.
• 9:55
[SPEAKER_07]: And I say to her, I need to go away for a little bit.
• 10:01
[SPEAKER_07]: I promise that I will be back.
• 10:06
[SPEAKER_07]: don't you worry about it?
• 10:08
[SPEAKER_07]: Your mom is here, everyone else is here.
• 10:10
[SPEAKER_07]: And I do have a little gift for you that I want to make sure you have, what?
• 10:19
[SPEAKER_07]: I want to make sure you have this while I'm away.
• 10:22
[SPEAKER_07]: In case you need it for whatever reason and your mom or the neighbors will show you the best ways to use it.
• 10:36
  [SPEAKER_07]: like a sheath.
• 10:37
[SPEAKER_07]: I pull out this really, really kind of ordinate dagger.
• 10:41
  [SPEAKER_07]: So it's like definitely child-nome-sized.
• 10:45
[SPEAKER_07]: And I handed to her and I say, don't, don't touch it.
• 10:49
  [SPEAKER_07]: It's very sharp.
• 10:53
[SPEAKER_07]: has a little extra boost in there and kind of looking at Kate, her mom.
• 10:58
[SPEAKER_07]: I kind of press a button and you see that like a poison discreet or excreates onto the onto the the blade that shoots out.
• 11:10
[SPEAKER_07]: No, I'm just like coats the blade.
• 11:12
  [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, okay.
• 11:12
[SPEAKER_07]: And I say only in the most serious of circumstances are you ever to press this button You understand that Sally?
• 11:21
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and she takes it.
• 11:23
[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know when I'm gonna be back But I will be back And I will do my absolute best to write you and Send you any cool rocks.
• 11:33
[SPEAKER_07]: I find along the way
• 11:36
[SPEAKER_09]: You all hug, you have your goodbyes.
• 11:41
[SPEAKER_09]: Stump, you packed the go bag, you hoped you'd never use.
• 11:45
[SPEAKER_09]: You take one last look around the quaint, two small cottage you've called home for God's only know how long.
• 11:54
[SPEAKER_09]: And you steal yourself to run.
• 11:57
[SPEAKER_09]: Again, we move away from Mountain Creek.
• 12:04
[SPEAKER_09]: A few nights later, in a few dozen miles to the far south lies the vast metropolis of three.
• 12:11
[SPEAKER_09]: The governing seat of the continent, three bustles in a gap of the grandire and mountains which stretch far to its north into its south.
• 12:18
[SPEAKER_09]: To its east, lays open sea, drawing trade from the island nations far away.
• 12:25
[SPEAKER_09]: And to the west, to the west lies the badlands.
• 12:31
[SPEAKER_09]: But even three slumbers, and this night is no different.
• 12:35
[SPEAKER_09]: At this hour, only the least respectable businesses are still open.
• 12:40
[SPEAKER_09]: From one such establishment stumbles a man, late 40s, with receding hair, and a knack for singing off-key.
• 12:47
[SPEAKER_09]: He proves this as he saunters through the empty streets, lit only by the lamp posts at street corners.
• 12:53
[SPEAKER_09]: But unseen by him, a shadow follows.
• 12:57
  [SPEAKER_09]: Down one street.
• 12:59
[SPEAKER_09]: Then another, silently pursued until, by chance, he pears over his shoulder.
• 13:07
[SPEAKER_09]: A chill runs down his spine and he begins to run, faster than he's ever run.
• 13:13
[SPEAKER_09]: A stitch cramps his side, but he keeps running.
• 13:16
[SPEAKER_09]: He turns down an alley, but is greeted only by a brick wall.
• 13:19
[SPEAKER_09]: He turns frantically to face the approaching figure, and as they step into the light, the man is greeted by a splitting image of his own face.
• 13:27
[SPEAKER_09]: He falls to the ground when burying, managing only a whisper.
• 13:33
  [SPEAKER_09]: Who are you?
• 13:36
[SPEAKER_04]: I step into the light holding the same faces here as I say.
• 13:42
[SPEAKER_04]: Strangers gone by many names, friend, and held many faces.
• 13:46
[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm even more scared than yours, but I have to say, even I could not imitate that horrid thing and that you were just doing now.
• 13:55
[SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, if you were not about to meet some untimely situation right here, I would say you need to get some lessons and fast.
• 14:04
  [SPEAKER_09]: Dear Lord, roll intimidation.
• 14:07
  [SPEAKER_04]: I would love to.
• 14:08
[SPEAKER_09]: First roll of the game.
• 14:11
[SPEAKER_04]: On that's actually pretty low.
• 14:12
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's a 15.
• 14:13
  [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
• 14:15
  [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, so long.
• 14:16
  [SPEAKER_04]: I'm getting pretty good.
• 14:18
  [SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
• 14:19
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my character's so good.
• 14:20
  [SPEAKER_02]: 15 so good.
• 14:22
[SPEAKER_09]: I will say that D.C. for this is five.
• 14:26
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, God, just absolutely mortified.
• 14:30
  [SPEAKER_09]: He just is out.
• 14:32
[SPEAKER_09]: You actually don't need to fight him.
• 14:34
[SPEAKER_09]: He just collapses and passes out immediately.
• 14:39
[SPEAKER_04]: As I looked down in this unconscious body, I say, well, that was,
• 14:45
[SPEAKER_04]: Much easier than the last one, and I just immediately release all of the tension from my body, and just awkwardly try to finagle this, this unconscious guy over my shoulder.
• 14:57
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going, what was the address?
• 15:00
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, where am I supposed to take this thing?
• 15:02
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, shit, shit, shit, shit.
• 15:03
[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm rooting around in my pocket, trying to find a little stuff of paper.
• 15:08
[SPEAKER_04]: That says where it's supposed to take them, like, oh, yes, yes, I'm supposed to take it here.
• 15:11
[SPEAKER_09]: Night of day from the opposing figure of like two seconds before.
• 15:17
  [SPEAKER_09]: Exactly.
• 15:17
  [SPEAKER_09]: Incredible.
• 15:19
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, you scoop up this body after a little bit of struggling and later on that night.
• 15:24
[SPEAKER_09]: After collecting your bounty and getting ready to turn in for the night, you walk up the steps to your apartment and that you share with an old friend.
• 15:36
[SPEAKER_09]: You're sure that she's long gone to bed at this point and you fit the key into the lock and turn it and enter the apartment.
• 15:46
[SPEAKER_09]: Only to be greeted with chaos.
• 15:50
[SPEAKER_09]: all around you, things are ransacked, drawers are upturned, doors are open.
• 15:57
[SPEAKER_09]: You search the apartment, but Winona is gone.
• 16:02
[SPEAKER_09]: You grab your key, once again, ready to tear the city apart to find her, and that's when you see it.
• 16:10
[SPEAKER_09]: A small piece of paper left on the counter near the door.
• 16:15
[SPEAKER_09]: You turn it over in your hands, revealing writing on the back.
• 16:20
  [SPEAKER_09]: Winona's handwriting.
• 16:22
  [SPEAKER_09]: Just one word.
• 16:24
  [SPEAKER_09]: Echo.
• 16:26
[SPEAKER_09]: At least you now have a place to look.
• 16:29
[SPEAKER_09]: But Echo's across the Badlands, several train rides away.
• 16:32
[SPEAKER_09]: It'll take weeks to get there depending on the schedule, not to mention how much train tickets cost now.
• 16:38
[SPEAKER_09]: But there's nothing in the world that could keep you from Winona.
• 16:42
[SPEAKER_09]: You begin to pack your things.
• 16:46
[SPEAKER_09]: We moved to Northern Thread.
• 16:48
[SPEAKER_09]: It's the dawn of the next day.
• 16:49
[SPEAKER_09]: In a rather luxurious apartment, a woman stands, applying her mascara in the mirror with trembling hands.
• 16:57
[SPEAKER_09]: The mixture slips, clatters into the sink.
• 17:00
[SPEAKER_09]: She excels slowly and then picks it back up.
• 17:04
[SPEAKER_09]: Solomon, describe the woman you see in the mirror.
• 17:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, um, some of me looks both beautiful and expensive.
• 17:14
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, she is a sort of tall, willowy woman with strawberry blonde hair kind of immaculately done into this very elaborate updo.
• 17:25
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, her nails are painted a soft pink.
• 17:28
[SPEAKER_02]: She is putting on this full face of makeup.
• 17:32
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, she wears a dusty rose color dress with a tightly laced corset.
• 17:37
[SPEAKER_02]: And the boning on the corset is made of methyl, which is sort of our answer to like methyl chainmail.
• 17:43
[SPEAKER_02]: She looks around for the earrings that she thinks she'll be able to sell for the most extra cash and decides on this sort of dangly set of diamonds that was a gift from her husband.
• 17:54
[SPEAKER_02]: And across her face is the look of a person who is like one minor inconvenience from just losing her entire grip on reality.
• 18:04
[SPEAKER_02]: Like she's not doing well.
• 18:06
[SPEAKER_09]: the great what goes through your mind.
• 18:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah so as she's been getting ready I think Solomon has been kind of meticulously avoiding eye contact with herself and as she's putting on mascara she kind of can't avoid it anymore and she meets her own gaze for a second and it's just like
• 18:27
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay girl, will you just did your mask, Cara?
• 18:29
[SPEAKER_02]: So no more crime for today.
• 18:32
[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, given us her circumstances, it actually looks pretty good.
• 18:35
  [SPEAKER_02]: So I guess there's that.
• 18:39
[SPEAKER_09]: You take cash from your secret stash, one that you've been building up for the last few years.
• 18:45
[SPEAKER_09]: You make a quick decision and take a rather showy saver from its hooks on the wall.
• 18:50
[SPEAKER_09]: Perhaps it's just for show, but it's still better than a manicured fist.
• 18:54
[SPEAKER_09]: You look around the apartment for one last time.
• 18:57
[SPEAKER_09]: For the last nine years, this has been your home.
• 19:03
[SPEAKER_09]: Feelings well up inside you, anger at what was sadness at what wasn't.
• 19:11
[SPEAKER_09]: You steal yourself one more time with a deep breath and close the door on this life.
• 19:20
[SPEAKER_09]: It's mid-morning at three grand continental concourse.
• 19:24
[SPEAKER_09]: The largest railroad station this side of the badlands.
• 19:28
[SPEAKER_09]: Passengers bustle to and fro hoping to catch a train to foothold or Providence.
• 19:34
[SPEAKER_09]: Salame, down this main concourse you walk through this crowd railroad to get inhand.
• 19:40
[SPEAKER_09]: Overhead the arching cylindrical ceiling of glass shades little from the sun, which even in the outer edges of threed can become dazzling.
• 19:50
[SPEAKER_09]: You scan the available tracks hoping to find platform 7.
• 19:54
[SPEAKER_09]: As you scan, you spot platform 1, where a group of shackled prisoners and blackstrap jumpsuits are white to be boarded, presumably off to Fort Pittonants far to the south.
• 20:05
[SPEAKER_09]: The stories you've heard of that place.
• 20:09
  [SPEAKER_02]: Salame.
• 20:11
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, hell, um, I think Salame's looking away from wherever the voice is and as soon as she hears her own name, she startles and then like forces a really bright warm smile before turning around.
• 20:27
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, you turn and fast approaching is a small, elven man and a dusty purple suit and bowler hat.
• 20:33
  [SPEAKER_02]: Do I recognize him?
• 20:35
[SPEAKER_09]: Yes, his name is Luther Wayne Wright.
• 20:38
[SPEAKER_09]: He's a family friend and unfortunately, a chatty one.
• 20:43
[SPEAKER_09]: Bye, Joves, that Salomei, I spy.
• 20:45
[SPEAKER_09]: You're quite the site for soar eyes on this early morning.
• 20:48
  [SPEAKER_09]: Why?
• 20:49
[SPEAKER_09]: How are you, my dear?
• 20:50
[SPEAKER_02]: Luther, darlin, it is, oh what a what what a surprise it is to see you here this this morning.
• 20:59
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I didn't mean to catch you by surprise.
• 21:01
[SPEAKER_09]: I just came in on the morning train from Providence.
• 21:04
[SPEAKER_09]: Had a little bit of business to settle up there.
• 21:07
[SPEAKER_09]: Freight I'll have to be on the train right back there tomorrow to close out the deal, but
• 21:11
  [SPEAKER_09]: Enough about me.
• 21:12
[SPEAKER_09]: What are you here for?
• 21:13
[SPEAKER_09]: Are you waiting on a friend?
• 21:15
  [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm actually I'm I'm I'm waiting on a train.
• 21:19
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but anyway, you know, that's fine.
• 21:22
[SPEAKER_02]: I I don't want to just sit here and talk about myself.
• 21:24
  [SPEAKER_02]: How's Mary Jane doing?
• 21:27
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, Mary Jane is great.
• 21:28
[SPEAKER_09]: Uh, we're just, you know, we settled into that new house in the Northern side of three and life couldn't be better.
• 21:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you know, I hear it's just beautiful.
• 21:35
  [SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait to see it.
• 21:37
[SPEAKER_09]: You know, speaking of significant others, I seem to notice that that's not around.
• 21:43
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, he, um, I mean, you know as well as I do how much he hates trips out of the city, so I, I'm just going by myself this time around.
• 21:53
  [SPEAKER_09]: Sure, sure.
• 21:54
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's, awfully interesting.
• 21:56
[SPEAKER_09]: I never known that to be the type to let his things go off and run in, but
• 22:03
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's a very talent statement.
• 22:06
[SPEAKER_02]: My condolences to your wife.
• 22:11
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
• 22:32
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure yet.
• 22:34
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how much you know about my family, but you know, they they travel around for work quite a lot So I'm just going out to find them.
• 22:41
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure exactly where they are.
• 22:42
[SPEAKER_09]: So uh, well You know best wishes on your journey and uh, it's Take care out there.
• 22:50
[SPEAKER_09]: It's it's a dangerous place full of dangerous people
• 22:56
[SPEAKER_02]: I think Solomon has got like this sort of shaking hand on this cavalry saber that is a lot of her side and she says, all right, thank you so much, Luthera.
• 23:06
[SPEAKER_02]: I will and you tell me or Jane I said hello.
• 23:08
  [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, I will.
• 23:10
[SPEAKER_09]: Tutals and then he walks off up the platform.
• 23:15
[SPEAKER_09]: Solomon, you are left once again alone on this platform.
• 23:20
[SPEAKER_09]: What races through your mind?
• 23:22
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I think I just let out this sigh of like as soon as he leaves and I think the comment of him saying like, I've never known that to sort of let his thing sort of wander is sticking out for me and I think I'm sort of
• 23:44
[SPEAKER_02]: struck with this awareness of how true that is and how true that has been.
• 23:48
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think this well of just anger kind of comes up in her and as soon as she's aware that no one is looking, I think she wrangles this really gorgeous humongous diamond wedding ring off of her finger and just hocks it out over the platform.
• 24:12
[SPEAKER_09]: Um, yeah, as it sails through the air, you watch it glimmer in the sun until it disappears over one of the railroad tracks into the dust and it's gone.
• 24:26
[SPEAKER_09]: With that resolved, you strike forward.
• 24:31
  [SPEAKER_09]: You find platform 7.
• 24:34
[SPEAKER_09]: As you reach car 3, you begin to board up the silver stairs and as you board, you glance
• 24:43
[SPEAKER_09]: A few cars down the line, as passengers board the train, you see workmen loading several crates into a storage car behind the engine.
• 24:52
[SPEAKER_09]: Next to it, a conductor argues heatedly with someone in a suit.
• 24:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Can I try to listen into what they're saying from where I am without missing the train?
• 25:01
[SPEAKER_09]: Sure, it's a little loud on the platform.
• 25:04
[SPEAKER_09]: You hear the steam of other engines.
• 25:07
[SPEAKER_09]: You hear the hustle and bustle of passengers.
• 25:09
[SPEAKER_09]: In fact, one of them behind you tries to sort of awkwardly move past you to get onto the train.
• 25:16
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm sorry.
• 25:17
  [SPEAKER_02]: Excuse me.
• 25:18
[SPEAKER_09]: Uh, why don't I write, why don't I write and he boards that little doc that just walk past you.
• 25:24
[SPEAKER_09]: Right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right.
• 25:30
[SPEAKER_09]: It's just a, just a human duck like Erica, uh, walks on to the board on to try models.
• 25:37
[SPEAKER_09]: Do you try an edge closer to this conversation?
• 25:40
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if I can sort of try to get a little closer without being perceived.
• 25:45
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, roll stealth.
• 25:48
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, that's going to be a six.
• 25:53
[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, yeah, you start to move closer and as you do, you hear a snippet of the conversation.
• 25:59
[SPEAKER_09]: The conductor is sort of partway through a Senate saying, I already told you, I can't send this train out with this cargo.
• 26:05
[SPEAKER_09]: We're expecting and the other man says, I'm expecting this train to make it out.
• 26:09
[SPEAKER_09]: This is an urgent shipment to Fort Braddock.
• 26:12
[SPEAKER_09]: If it doesn't make it out in time, it's going to cost not only Jamison Manufacturing, but the city of Thread itself, hundreds of thousands.
• 26:20
[SPEAKER_09]: Do you want to be the one that holds that?
• 26:23
[SPEAKER_09]: As you get close, the man in the suit glances over, and sort of gives a turse see it done, and then turns and walks away.
• 26:38
  [SPEAKER_09]: You board.
• 26:40
[SPEAKER_09]: As you walk in, you pass a three to transit authority guard standing sort of as they do in each of the cars.
• 26:47
[SPEAKER_09]: There is sort of a guard stationed in each car.
• 26:51
[SPEAKER_09]: You pass him, you slide back the frosted glass door and please be empty.
• 26:56
  [SPEAKER_02]: Please be empty.
• 26:56
  [SPEAKER_02]: Please be empty.
• 26:58
[SPEAKER_09]: That someone is already seated inside.
• 27:00
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
• 27:02
  [SPEAKER_09]: Hey, didn't.
• 27:03
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yes.
• 27:04
[SPEAKER_04]: What do you look like today?
• 27:05
[SPEAKER_04]: I've got long red curly hair.
• 27:11
[SPEAKER_04]: Got a cute little button nose freckles.
• 27:16
  [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a...
• 27:17
[SPEAKER_04]: course it up a bit.
• 27:18
  [SPEAKER_04]: I've got a nice brown duster.
• 27:21
[SPEAKER_04]: Of course my brown hat with the ear doesn't feather on the cap.
• 27:26
[SPEAKER_04]: And if there's anyone who might recognize the person that I'm looking for, I look like her.
• 27:36
[SPEAKER_04]: So just in case someone might have a response to that.
• 27:42
[SPEAKER_04]: And as she comes in, I say, oh, no, no, sweetie, sweetie, come on in.
• 27:46
  [SPEAKER_04]: I-
• 27:47
  [SPEAKER_04]: I won't say a word.
• 27:49
  [SPEAKER_04]: I won't make a peep.
• 27:50
[SPEAKER_04]: We'll pay you no mind.
• 27:51
[SPEAKER_04]: Don't you worry about it.
• 27:52
  [SPEAKER_04]: Come on.
• 27:53
  [SPEAKER_04]: Come on.
• 27:53
  [SPEAKER_04]: Have a seat.
• 27:54
[SPEAKER_04]: That, thank you so much.
• 27:55
  [SPEAKER_04]: I appreciate it.
• 27:56
[SPEAKER_02]: And I kind of shuffle over and sit as far away from them as I can.
• 28:01
[SPEAKER_09]: You sit down and there's sort of a silence within this compartment.
• 28:08
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
• 28:08
[SPEAKER_09]: As the other people start to file into the other compartments as the train begins to fill.
• 28:14
[SPEAKER_04]: As there's continued to be a law, and we're pretty sure that there isn't going to be another person coming into the compartment, I say now just curiosity and no answer is an acceptable answer.
• 28:29
[SPEAKER_04]: Running from something or running to something.
• 28:34
[SPEAKER_02]: little both sweetheart, little both, I like your course it all thank you it's new it has pockets it doesn't actually have pockets I just like saying it has pockets you know what a course it with pockets will be real fun I mean I love a skirt with pockets but if you had pockets in the course it's just sort of pockets everywhere
• 28:55
[SPEAKER_02]: You never know where you need more pocket.
• 28:57
[SPEAKER_04]: You never know, and you know what, the pockets are never deep enough as soon as you have.
• 29:00
[SPEAKER_04]: I've never gotten one of those pairs of pants with this technically a pocket, but it's only deep enough to fit a single copper coin.
• 29:06
[SPEAKER_04]: Why did they even put it in there?
• 29:07
[SPEAKER_02]: And they've sewn it in to make it look like it's a deep pocket.
• 29:10
[SPEAKER_02]: And I swear, I mean, I have my husband.
• 29:15
[SPEAKER_02]: My husband's pockets, you know, that they're so deep.
• 29:18
[SPEAKER_02]: And every time I put on a skirt, it's like, it's like, if there's a pocket at all, it's so shallow, you can't even put anything in it.
• 29:27
[SPEAKER_02]: Did something happen just there?
• 29:29
  [SPEAKER_02]: Are you all right?
• 29:30
  [SPEAKER_02]: What?
• 29:31
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, everything's fine, darling.
• 29:33
  [SPEAKER_09]: Uh-huh.
• 29:34
[SPEAKER_09]: As you say that, the train lurches forward and you begin to pull away from the Grand Continental Concourse.
• 29:42
[SPEAKER_09]: a little while away, a myler to outside of town, stump.
• 29:48
[SPEAKER_09]: You ride forward on your pony.
• 29:53
[SPEAKER_09]: In the distance, you see the half-cylinder of three grand continental concourse.
• 29:57
[SPEAKER_09]: You hear the, of the train whistle and your pulse quickens as you know, you're running short on time.
• 30:08
  [SPEAKER_09]: And then you hear,
• 30:10
[SPEAKER_09]: the sound of a branch breaking behind you.
• 30:13
  [SPEAKER_09]: You turn.
• 30:14
[SPEAKER_09]: And as you do, you hear a f*** of an arrow whizzing past your ear.
• 30:19
  [SPEAKER_04]: No, I'm so upset.
• 30:20
[SPEAKER_09]: And emerging from the trees behind you is a mounted rider on horseback with a crossbow in their hands.
• 30:31
[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, hey buddy, to my pony, I'm like, we gotta get this, we gotta pick this up, we gotta get to that train as quickly as we possibly can.
• 30:36
[SPEAKER_07]: Let's go, and I'm like kick in the horse to, you know,
• 30:39
[SPEAKER_07]: to pick it, to get it to Gallup.
• 30:40
[SPEAKER_07]: The pony, sorry, the pony.
• 30:44
  [SPEAKER_07]: Roll a persuasion check.
• 30:46
  [SPEAKER_09]: 18, you give it a shot.
• 30:51
  [SPEAKER_09]: And the pony spreads.
• 30:55
[SPEAKER_09]: You hear the galloping of hooves behind you.
• 30:58
[SPEAKER_09]: And in the distance, coming out of one end of the cylinder of the Grand Continental is the train that you were hoping to catch.
• 31:06
[SPEAKER_07]: Does it look like I'll be able to catch up if you if you heard I book it for the train full dash full full pony dash.
• 31:14
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, the train is not fully up to speed yet.
• 31:18
[SPEAKER_09]: It's sort of just like it's gathering momentum as it as it's going and it's still sort of in that stage Where it's still pulling out the station
• 31:28
[SPEAKER_09]: Do you glance over your shoulder at all?
• 31:30
[SPEAKER_07]: Um, I think I do because I'm not running.
• 31:33
[SPEAKER_07]: So I think if I turn around, it's not gonna slow the pony down.
• 31:36
[SPEAKER_07]: So yeah, I'm gonna, I'm gonna see, just check out far away.
• 31:38
[SPEAKER_09]: Great, as you sort of glance over your shoulder, you see a blur with past your eyes as the assassin misses again.
• 31:48
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm gonna shoot the assassin back.
• 31:50
  [SPEAKER_07]: I'm gonna do it.
• 31:51
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I'm okay.
• 31:52
  [SPEAKER_09]: Roll, okay.
• 31:53
  [SPEAKER_09]: Roll first attack.
• 31:55
  [SPEAKER_09]: of the game.
• 31:57
  [SPEAKER_09]: 23.
• 31:59
[SPEAKER_09]: That is going to hit.
• 32:00
  [SPEAKER_09]: Get his ass.
• 32:01
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, damn it.
• 32:03
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, that is audible from inside the train.
• 32:06
  [SPEAKER_04]: Get his ass.
• 32:07
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's a great question.
• 32:08
  [SPEAKER_09]: Not yet.
• 32:11
[SPEAKER_04]: We're spiritedly discussing pocket still.
• 32:13
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh yeah, you're in the car talking about pockets talking about whether more pockets should be added to corsets Well of course they should.
• 32:22
[SPEAKER_02]: I've never seen a corset with a pocket and now you say it.
• 32:25
[SPEAKER_09]: It's honestly a jean Before we resolve that stuff, how much damage did you steal to this event?
• 32:37
[SPEAKER_09]: that last arrow, pissed you off something awful.
• 32:40
[SPEAKER_09]: Do you mind doing this somewhere else?
• 32:43
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm trying to do something.
• 32:46
[SPEAKER_09]: And as you call that out, you turn level your crossbow, aim, and let loose a point.
• 32:53
[SPEAKER_09]: The bolt flies true and strikes the assassin in the shoulder.
• 32:59
[SPEAKER_09]: they fire up another crossbow bolt and you don't even hear this one.
• 33:04
  [SPEAKER_09]: It goes wide.
• 33:05
[SPEAKER_09]: The train is close now.
• 33:09
[SPEAKER_09]: As you dash alongside the compartments of this train, the dust is flying behind you.
• 33:16
  [SPEAKER_09]: You hear the curve.
• 33:19
[SPEAKER_09]: of the train beginning to pick up speed.
• 33:22
[SPEAKER_09]: You come level with the with one of the storage cars of the train but then it begins to pick up speed and begins to start going past you.
• 33:32
[SPEAKER_09]: The very next car begins to arrive next to you and you see your opportunity to jump onto the train if you
• 33:49
[SPEAKER_04]: And if you fail you just don't go on the adventure.
• 33:51
[SPEAKER_09]: Just die at all You miss the you miss the stairs hit the tracks and that's the end of style.
• 33:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you roll in your character 16.
• 33:59
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, good.
• 34:01
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, you You rise up into the saddle.
• 34:05
[SPEAKER_09]: You hear another as an arrow flies past You take a deep breath and you take the plunge You dive
• 34:17
[SPEAKER_09]: across the gap of open air between your pony and the car, and you hit the stairs.
• 34:25
[SPEAKER_09]: You're able to just barely grab onto one of the railings and you pull yourself up and onto the car.
• 34:34
[SPEAKER_09]: You hear from behind you?
• 34:35
  [SPEAKER_09]: No!
• 34:36
[SPEAKER_04]: from the pony as you abandoned it.
• 34:38
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, from the pony.
• 34:40
  [SPEAKER_09]: Good bye, Jim.
• 34:43
[SPEAKER_09]: You glance behind you one last time.
• 34:45
[SPEAKER_09]: You see the pony sort of diverge off to the right and run off into the grasslands to the north.
• 34:56
  [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, man.
• 34:58
[SPEAKER_07]: Been a while since I've had to do something like that.
• 35:01
[SPEAKER_07]: Um, I'm going to just start looking for compartments to get into one that's the least occupied.
• 35:07
[SPEAKER_09]: Solomon and Hayden as you sit here talking about pockets, the frosted glass door to your compartment opens and in walks the dustiest little deep gnome you've ever seen.
• 35:20
[SPEAKER_09]: Stump, describe the person who walks in.
• 35:24
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, so stump is a middle aged deep gnome and he wears a pair of beautiful leather gloves with like long cuffs that protect him as he handles these poisons and potions.
• 35:36
[SPEAKER_07]: You know currently he has using this like really dusty, hardy travel cloak and he has chaps because you know he had just been riding his pony gym.
• 35:45
[SPEAKER_07]: At the moment, the only part of his face that is visible is his green eyes that look like they've seen some things, you know, and from the eyes down is covered in a black hanker chip and from his eyes up is covered in a black stetson.
• 36:00
[SPEAKER_07]: You can see some salt and pepper, just a hair, just poking out from the rim of the back, but most importantly, is you're able to see a bandelier of vials along its chest.
• 36:10
[SPEAKER_07]: While a few are the vials, a Ramsey, several are filled with liquids and powders of a variety of colors.
• 36:18
[SPEAKER_04]: Were you inside the coal bin?
• 36:20
  [SPEAKER_04]: What exactly happened?
• 36:22
  [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, uh, I did.
• 36:24
[SPEAKER_07]: I was, uh, I was getting chased and, uh, just do it.
• 36:29
[SPEAKER_07]: I would really appreciate it if that could be our little secret.
• 36:32
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, just get in here, cause they don't.
• 36:34
  [SPEAKER_07]: Thanks.
• 36:35
[SPEAKER_02]: You seem, you seem out of breath, darling.
• 36:38
[SPEAKER_02]: You need some water or something, yeah, yeah.
• 36:40
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, no, no, I'll be fine in just a little bit.
• 36:43
  [SPEAKER_07]: I just, it's been a while since I've been chased.
• 36:45
[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, I mean, I'm glad this isn't a constant occurrence, but you show you're all right.
• 36:50
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah, I think I got away.
• 36:53
  [SPEAKER_07]: You know, I'm here, they're not so, I think we're good.
• 36:56
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, could we shut the door quickly?
• 36:59
[SPEAKER_02]: And if there's a lock on it, maybe you could just latch that as well.
• 37:01
[SPEAKER_07]: Can I use my thieves tools to like jam the lock?
• 37:07
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, yes.
• 37:09
[SPEAKER_09]: I will say that yes, you can do that.
• 37:10
[SPEAKER_09]: However, it will be a higher DC for you to open it back up.
• 37:15
[SPEAKER_07]: I guess or just lock it, maybe in a way that we don't normally have access to.
• 37:18
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, um, the compartments lock, uh, just by on their own.
• 37:22
[SPEAKER_02]: I've got this pretty big shield here.
• 37:24
[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to stick something in the, in the doorway, you know, kind of wedge it under the hand or something like that.
• 37:30
[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, yeah, well, let's do that.
• 37:32
[SPEAKER_07]: So I'll collect a lot of the door.
• 37:35
[SPEAKER_07]: We'll shove, you throw the tiny little door latch of this like impressive apartment, just like, yeah, shoved solemnly shield underneath the handle, if it's that kind of handle, and then pull the curtains.
• 37:52
  [SPEAKER_07]: All right.
• 37:54
[SPEAKER_04]: I pull a flask out of one of the many pockets that I apparently have and say, come on, have a seat, have a drink and tell us what crime we are now accomplices to.
• 38:06
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, you're not in accomplished at any crime.
• 38:09
[SPEAKER_07]: I am on the receiving end of a crime, so... Oh, sure.
• 38:13
  [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I'm being...
• 38:14
  [SPEAKER_04]: I've heard of that.
• 38:15
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I am the victim in this scenario.
• 38:18
[SPEAKER_04]: And we will tell the authorities that, even if they question us separately.
• 38:22
[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, I mean, out here, it really, it's, you know, your business.
• 38:26
[SPEAKER_02]: So none of us have any business getting involved.
• 38:29
  [SPEAKER_07]: I appreciate that.
• 38:30
[SPEAKER_02]: Is your assailant on the train?
• 38:33
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I jumped onto the, I was on a pony and I jumped onto the train.
• 38:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Alright, that might be the most impressive thing I've ever heard in my life.
• 38:39
[SPEAKER_02]: You said that, I'll handedly like that's a normal thing to do, but jumping off of a moving pony onto a moving train is actually kind of a feed of acrobatics.
• 38:46
[SPEAKER_04]: How are you a circus performer?
• 38:48
[SPEAKER_07]: No, I'm actually an apothecary from a townway up in the mountains.
• 38:53
[SPEAKER_07]: Of course you are, sweetie.
• 38:56
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all
• 39:23
[SPEAKER_09]: They can be one of those.
• 39:24
  [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, sure.
• 39:24
[SPEAKER_04]: It's just an old timey wild west thermos.
• 39:26
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
• 39:27
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know.
• 39:28
[SPEAKER_02]: So all of my takes out like a very elaborate like lacy like handcourchief and sort of wipes the rim of the cup like a communion glass.
• 39:37
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, oh, hey, go darling.
• 39:38
[SPEAKER_02]: It was just a little dusty.
• 39:39
[SPEAKER_07]: I, uh, I hold out an empty vial.
• 39:43
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, this is an interesting group, uh, all right.
• 39:46
  [SPEAKER_10]: Here you go.
• 39:47
  [SPEAKER_10]: Thank you so much.
• 39:48
[SPEAKER_10]: And she just knocks him back like just instantly like a shot.
• 39:54
  [SPEAKER_07]: What is it?
• 39:55
[SPEAKER_07]: Like, what am I drinking?
• 39:57
  [SPEAKER_02]: What did I drink?
• 40:03
[SPEAKER_04]: Are you suggesting that I might be trying to poison you?
• 40:07
[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I mean, I mean, I mean, I've just bet you, I've just met you 30 seconds ago.
• 40:12
  [SPEAKER_07]: So I'm 100% gonna wait about 11 minutes.
• 40:16
[SPEAKER_07]: And I'm gonna analyze it and cast it.
• 40:19
[SPEAKER_10]: Do you want to have a text all of it?
• 40:20
[SPEAKER_07]: Detect, oh no, I was gonna, yes, but I would have to ritual cast, detect poison on it.
• 40:27
[SPEAKER_04]: I genuinely have no problem with this, but I'm just going to be continuing to stare you down, just to make you feel super uncomfortable about the fact that you don't trust in me or random stranger.
• 40:39
[SPEAKER_09]: The full 10 minutes, y'all are just staring daggers at each other across the compartment so I'll miss like, am I going to die?
• 40:46
[SPEAKER_02]: Should I have been more cognizant of the fact that that might have been poisoned, I was just real taking with their sincerity, and we had a real-nose conversation about pockets and not.
• 40:57
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sort of like checking in to see how I'm feeling every couple minutes.
• 41:02
  [SPEAKER_09]: Incredible.
• 41:04
  [SPEAKER_09]: You all talk away.
• 41:08
[SPEAKER_09]: You are well on your way to your next stop.
• 41:11
[SPEAKER_09]: And the sun slowly rises into the sky.
• 41:14
[SPEAKER_09]: And as it does, you see the terrain outside change from grassland to the
• 41:21
[SPEAKER_09]: dry, dry sands of the badlands, stump and Hayden, you've not gone very far into the badlands before.
• 41:34
[SPEAKER_09]: What goes through your minds as you see sort of this just expanse of nothingness?
• 41:44
[SPEAKER_04]: Hayden is looking out over the desert and having, having hidden himself never been outside of three but thinking about the stranger who probably has quite the reputation out here and just going, I don't know if I can do this, I don't know if I can maintain this ruse for this long.
• 42:09
  [SPEAKER_07]: Stump?
• 42:11
[SPEAKER_07]: So Stump kind of looks out over the desert on his first journey out since going to Mount Creek.
• 42:20
[SPEAKER_07]: And just kind of reflecting on his last 20 years there and his family on Kate and Sally.
• 42:28
  [SPEAKER_07]: And is
• 42:30
[SPEAKER_07]: And it's also just starting to get that itch again from when he was younger, and was living his life as a thief, and is getting a little excited for whatever this journey is.
• 42:40
[SPEAKER_07]: He's not looking as much to really, you know, hurt as many people as before, but it's like thinking this could be fun.
• 42:52
[SPEAKER_09]: Solome, you're on the other side of that coin.
• 42:55
[SPEAKER_09]: You've spent a long time in the badlands.
• 43:00
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
• 43:00
[SPEAKER_09]: What does three year mind?
• 43:02
[SPEAKER_02]: I think as soon as the terrain starts to change, there's this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia that kind of hits where the smells are different and the sights are different and like, she just sort of starts recognizing these familiar things that she hasn't seen for like nine years.
• 43:22
[SPEAKER_02]: and it starts to feel really good and really like home and then it's sort of pivots and mixes in with this dread of what might be ahead and thinking about
• 43:39
[SPEAKER_02]: the conversations that she had with her aunts leading it up to coming out to three and how they warned her that it was such a bad idea.
• 43:47
[SPEAKER_02]: And like, I think there's this apprehension of what if they don't take me back when I get when I find them.
• 43:58
[SPEAKER_09]: As you all ponder these things,
• 44:04
[SPEAKER_09]: the train descends into a sort of ravine.
• 44:09
[SPEAKER_09]: The sort of rushing canyon wall goes past you and it widens a little bit as you go, so it's not just right next to the train, but there are canyon walls on either side of the track now.
• 44:25
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, well, we've all been sitting here principally staring at the window, but I got to cut the tension here for just a little bit.
• 44:34
[SPEAKER_04]: You and I had a lovely conversation about pockets.
• 44:36
  [SPEAKER_04]: It was wonderful.
• 44:37
  [SPEAKER_04]: I never lunch a name.
• 44:38
[SPEAKER_04]: You, you're covered in dirt and you're running from someone who's trying to cram you.
• 44:42
  [SPEAKER_04]: Who are you people?
• 44:46
  [SPEAKER_07]: Um, I'm stump.
• 44:48
  [SPEAKER_07]: I am an apothecary.
• 44:50
[SPEAKER_07]: It's a pleasure to meet you both.
• 44:53
  [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I guess, my name's a solemnite.
• 44:57
[SPEAKER_04]: Breyer, solemnite Breyer, in the silence here, Hayden has been frantically just trying to come up with any name to say to you all.
• 45:06
[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm going to roll this up and check to see if I actually do come up with them all.
• 45:11
  [SPEAKER_04]: Oh no.
• 45:12
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's a two.
• 45:14
[SPEAKER_04]: It comes out to a nine, but I still don't think I come up with anything.
• 45:18
[SPEAKER_04]: So I just say I'm in concur Well, uh, I guess I'm hating them.
• 45:26
  [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, in concave.
• 45:27
[SPEAKER_04]: Nice to meet you all Let's just hope for the sake of all this all of us in this car that we're at a danger for the present moment.
• 45:34
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah At that moment Of course
• 45:39
[SPEAKER_09]: the train suddenly lurches you hear a hole as I don't think it's supposed to do that as the brakes lock up and the train screeches down the tracks and all three of you lurch in your seats as the train slowly comes to a halt
• 46:04
[SPEAKER_04]: I need to stop opening myself up to these ironic statements.
• 46:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, this is, I don't think this is supposed to happen in these canyons can get real dangerous.
• 46:12
[SPEAKER_02]: Did we even get out of the canyon?
• 46:14
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't mean to alarm anybody, but right before I got on this train, I heard, while I overheard the conductor having a pretty serious conversation with somebody in a suit, I think he was from the Jameson company or something like that.
• 46:27
[SPEAKER_04]: Everyone's from the Jameson company.
• 46:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and they were talking about some cargo that was on the train that the conductor didn't want on the train because it was dangerous or something and then the person from the company was saying that there was a very expensive shipment going out to Fort Braddock and actually Casey, I have a courier background which I can think sort of means I know like sort of the ins and outs of like
• 46:50
[SPEAKER_02]: high rollers like government, but also like social circles.
• 46:55
[SPEAKER_02]: Can I roll something to see if I would know anything about what might go in and out of Fort Braddock or any of that?
• 47:01
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh yeah.
• 47:01
  [SPEAKER_09]: Roll a, I'd say roll a history check.
• 47:05
  [SPEAKER_09]: I'll say DC 10.
• 47:06
  [SPEAKER_09]: Right.
• 47:07
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm not terrible at that.
• 47:08
[SPEAKER_09]: Since Brad, Fort Braddock is pretty well known.
• 47:14
  [SPEAKER_02]: I have a, no!
• 47:17
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh no, oh I rolled a 10, but I have a minus 2, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3, that is 3
• 47:45
[SPEAKER_09]: and you know that like it's a military installation, but that's about it.
• 47:52
[SPEAKER_09]: Like you don't know a whole lot more detailed of that.
• 47:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well then I'll just say, anyway, there was some kind of strange shipment head not to Fort Braddock, and it seemed to be military related and the train conductor seemed to have some serious reservations about bringing that kind of cargo on a passenger train.
• 48:12
[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think we might, I think we might be in danger is what I'm trying to say.
• 48:16
[SPEAKER_09]: You do hear the door outside.
• 48:18
[SPEAKER_09]: Get thrown back at that moment, and then you see through the frosted glass Three shadows Throw themselves past and then from down the hall you hear a hey, what and then the sounds of a scuffle Solome, how well is this shield going to hold?
• 48:40
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't know about its function as a lock on a door, but I can say that I would really like to have my shields back right about now, so I take the shield and like, or myself with the end grab the cavalry saber, Hayden holds up there, have a crossbow and says, let's gear up, Stump's gonna grab a vile off of this chest.
• 49:00
[SPEAKER_02]: Stump, what do you think the odds are that any of the people chasing you would be able to stop a train in the middle of a canyon?
• 49:06
[SPEAKER_07]: Um, I think the chance to hide pathetically is pretty good, but I don't think that it's them.
• 49:14
[SPEAKER_07]: It could be them, but I don't think it's because of me.
• 49:18
[SPEAKER_03]: In any case, I'd like to get the jump on them before they get the jump on us, so let's get out there.
• 49:23
  [SPEAKER_10]: That ain't about idea.
• 49:24
  [SPEAKER_03]: I open the door.
• 49:25
  [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, I'm afraid.
• 49:31
  [SPEAKER_09]: Great.
• 49:32
  [SPEAKER_09]: You open the door.
• 49:33
[SPEAKER_09]: Do you all rush out into the hallway?
• 49:35
  [SPEAKER_10]: Yes.
• 49:36
[SPEAKER_10]: I peek around the door to the hallway as Hayden is rushing out into the door to the hallway.
• 49:41
[SPEAKER_09]: I stay in the room, but ready.
• 49:43
  [SPEAKER_09]: Okay.
• 49:44
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, then everyone will stop, I guess.
• 49:47
[SPEAKER_02]: Hayden boldly walks out into the hallway.
• 49:49
[SPEAKER_10]: Oh, Solomon, stop the cowher inside.
• 49:52
  [SPEAKER_04]: No one follows me.
• 49:53
[SPEAKER_09]: Hayden, you rush out into the hallway of this train car.
• 50:00
[SPEAKER_09]: At the far end of the train car, it's about the train car is about 45 feet long.
• 50:08
[SPEAKER_09]: The hallways about 10 feet wide.
• 50:11
[SPEAKER_09]: At the other end of the train car,
• 50:15
[SPEAKER_09]: is lying on the ground, the guard, that you saw upon entering.
• 50:23
  [SPEAKER_09]: He's not doing well.
• 50:26
[SPEAKER_09]: Standing over him are two humans and a dwarf.
• 50:33
[SPEAKER_09]: Each of them taking turns bearing their pickaxes into his body.
• 50:37
[SPEAKER_09]: They are dressed in overalls with bits and pieces of armor strapped to them.
• 50:50
[SPEAKER_09]: And as you run out into the hallway, the dwarf turns to look at you and says,
• 51:02
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay, hey, hey, hey this, I don't know what to happen.
• 51:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Stumpy might want to get out here.
• 51:10
[SPEAKER_09]: Stop all you hear is, yeah.
• 51:13
[SPEAKER_09]: So you know somebody's meeting God.
• 51:15
[SPEAKER_04]: I think I realized in this moment that no one followed me out here and I just like, friends, you're probably winning their guns blazing.
• 51:25
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, I thought that was the plan.
• 51:28
[SPEAKER_04]: When we're gonna fight, what's happening out there?
• 51:31
[SPEAKER_08]: Violent, that's good to me, uh, Solomon.
• 51:36
  [SPEAKER_10]: Nine.
• 51:38
  [SPEAKER_08]: Nine.
• 51:39
  [SPEAKER_08]: Pin.
• 51:40
  [SPEAKER_08]: Twenty-two.
• 51:40
  [SPEAKER_08]: One-two.
• 51:41
  [SPEAKER_08]: And stuff.
• 51:43
  [SPEAKER_07]: Ah, that's a big ol' five.
• 51:46
  [SPEAKER_09]: five.
• 51:47
[SPEAKER_09]: Great, first in the order is Hayden.
• 51:50
[SPEAKER_09]: You believe it or not?
• 51:52
  [SPEAKER_02]: Shocker.
• 51:52
[SPEAKER_09]: Each of these folks are randishing up pickaxe.
• 51:56
[SPEAKER_09]: They are all bloodstained by this point.
• 52:00
[SPEAKER_09]: And the two humans have turned to start running towards zero.
• 52:04
[SPEAKER_04]: groovy i'm gonna pick the human that is closest to reaching me uh reach out my finger cast hunters mark which uh i've not decided what this looks like when i cast hunters mark but uh i think i just my eyes just zero in on the person and i concentrate and it's like that woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo
• 52:28
[SPEAKER_04]: moment in any western where I just like sudden zoom in on my eyes.
• 52:32
[SPEAKER_04]: You don't see any like magical plastic going around bars across the exact moment.
• 52:38
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
• 52:39
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
• 52:41
[SPEAKER_09]: You see like we've blowing on the breeze.
• 52:44
[SPEAKER_04]: a lone tumbleweed inside the train absolutely that happens every time but I hold on my crossbow and I say sorry friend you that first and I attack and I really hope this actually does some damage after all that after all that that will be a 15 to hit that 15 is going to
• 53:14
[SPEAKER_04]: That is 14 damage on my first attack.
• 53:18
[SPEAKER_04]: And because I'm a gloom stalker ranger, I get to take an extra attack on the first round of combat.
• 53:26
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh man, okay, go for it.
• 53:28
  [SPEAKER_04]: Get it.
• 53:29
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's a 21 to hit.
• 53:30
  [SPEAKER_08]: That will do it.
• 53:32
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
• 53:32
[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, that was actually uh 19 on the first one because I forgot my extra hundreds mark damage Oh my god Second one Oh okay And that's only six damage on the second I hit Hey, and you just want to handle this, sir What's going on up there?
• 53:49
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, apparently I'm just handling it, and it's on the only one out here Stop, you want to go back inside and have a drink?
• 53:54
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, sure, hidden you aim your crossbow bolt, let it fly.
• 54:00
[SPEAKER_09]: And as this human runs towards you, it's the arrow sticks him right at the base of his throat and he collapses.
• 54:11
[SPEAKER_09]: Is there anything else you'd like to do on your turn?
• 54:13
[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I just, uh, I hold out my hand that's not holding the crossbow out and just give it a little come-hither motion like who wants a dance now?
• 54:22
[SPEAKER_09]: They keep coming, like they're undontant by the fall of their friend.
• 54:27
[SPEAKER_04]: Shit, I really thought they would work.
• 54:28
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's okay.
• 54:29
  [SPEAKER_09]: Anything else?
• 54:30
[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I try to hide the terror in my eyes when they keep running toward me.
• 54:34
  [SPEAKER_04]: Ha ha, okay.
• 54:37
  [SPEAKER_08]: Great.
• 54:38
[SPEAKER_08]: I want, I want to make you do what this is always for that.
• 54:40
  [SPEAKER_10]: There's always works.
• 54:43
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order was going to be that human but he dropped so after that he is going to be Solomon at a nine at a nine everyone wrote pretty formally Yeah, I guess I'll I'll fully get into the into the room and step go in ahead of Hayden Am I able to reach anyone for like melee range?
• 55:06
[SPEAKER_09]: Not yet because the other two haven't taken their turn yet.
• 55:11
[SPEAKER_09]: They have not crossed the 45 or any of the 45 feet.
• 55:15
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
• 55:16
[SPEAKER_02]: So if I can't get to them or if I can't get to them without doing a full dash action, I will do a full dash action up and just engage somebody in start to engage somebody in combat.
• 55:28
[SPEAKER_02]: And as I do, oh, well, who's the closest to me the other human of the door?
• 55:31
[SPEAKER_09]: I'd say the other human just because I think because the dwarf was facing you, the two humans were on the other sides with their backs to you, so they turned to start fighting you.
• 55:41
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so I will run up to the dwarf, and as I do, I'll just say, what are you all doing on this train?
• 55:47
[SPEAKER_09]: He doesn't respond, he just has this crazy look in his eye, why he might not even be comprehending what you're saying right now.
• 55:57
  [SPEAKER_02]: Wow, okay, great.
• 55:58
[SPEAKER_02]: So I just get ready to fight him.
• 55:59
  [SPEAKER_09]: Okay, great.
• 56:01
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order is that human, since you ran towards them, the human is gonna turn to attack you.
• 56:11
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's a 14 to hit.
• 56:12
[SPEAKER_09]: I get the feeling I'm talking to hit.
• 56:14
  [SPEAKER_09]: Nah, that doesn't.
• 56:14
  [SPEAKER_09]: No, it doesn't.
• 56:15
  [SPEAKER_09]: Great.
• 56:16
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the voting on this course that is strong.
• 56:18
[SPEAKER_02]: And my not have pockets, but it's good.
• 56:21
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's some serious cresmentship.
• 56:23
[SPEAKER_09]: He swings wide with the pickaxe and just, it, it sort of fears off course and doesn't get you.
• 56:30
[SPEAKER_09]: So that's gonna be his turn.
• 56:32
[SPEAKER_09]: Next is going to be Stomp.
• 56:35
[SPEAKER_07]: Hey everybody out there, do you need me help, or you got it?
• 56:38
  [SPEAKER_02]: Stomp.
• 56:39
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, so far we got it.
• 56:40
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we might have it, but you might as well come help.
• 56:43
  [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, come home.
• 56:44
[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, yeah, so Stomp is gonna, it's kinda peek out around, just take a step out of the room and just shoot the human, I guess, with Thaiz Crossbow is Magic Crossbow.
• 56:55
  [SPEAKER_07]: 14.
• 56:57
[SPEAKER_09]: That is not going to do it.
• 57:00
[SPEAKER_09]: The crossbow hole sores past him and he doesn't register it as he keeps trying to swing on saw me.
• 57:08
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm gonna head back into the room now.
• 57:09
[SPEAKER_09]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
• 57:27
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh Shots fired literally, but only so fired.
• 57:33
[SPEAKER_09]: They got shown that one.
• 57:35
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order is going to be the dwarf So that the dwarf is going to swing on Solomon that is going to be a 20 to hit I don't hit a natural 20 and That is going to be three points of piercing damage It's a little blow.
• 57:53
[SPEAKER_09]: He just sort of he gets your against you in the shoulder just a little bit
• 57:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Honey, you didn't have to do that.
• 57:58
[SPEAKER_02]: Just had a small bug on your shoulder.
• 58:00
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think you might have got a knot out that's been in there for a few years.
• 58:04
  [SPEAKER_09]: He says, I don't have to.
• 58:05
[SPEAKER_09]: I do it my best.
• 58:06
  [SPEAKER_09]: God damn.
• 58:06
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, thank you.
• 58:07
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's your best.
• 58:09
  [SPEAKER_04]: Ha ha.
• 58:10
[SPEAKER_09]: That's the order is hate.
• 58:11
  [SPEAKER_04]: Lovely.
• 58:12
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna take out this damn dwarf.
• 58:16
  [SPEAKER_09]: Do it.
• 58:16
  [SPEAKER_09]: Roll some attack.
• 58:18
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm slightly less impressive on the second round of combat, but let's see how this goes.
• 58:22
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's only a 12 to hit.
• 58:24
[SPEAKER_09]: That is not going to do it.
• 58:25
  [SPEAKER_04]: No, it's not.
• 58:27
[SPEAKER_04]: But I will move my hundreds mark onto the door for future outjes.
• 58:33
[SPEAKER_07]: What is stump here as Hayden misses from the inside of the room?
• 58:38
  [SPEAKER_10]: I don't want to hear it.
• 58:40
[SPEAKER_10]: I now won't tell him you missed.
• 58:43
[SPEAKER_09]: So I saw my whispers from across the train car.
• 58:45
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh well, yes, so loud.
• 58:47
  [SPEAKER_02]: I won't tell him you missed.
• 58:50
  [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not definitely here's it.
• 58:52
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just trying to stare straight ahead and just go like, ha ha, take that.
• 58:56
[SPEAKER_04]: Not doing my darnedest to not look over at stump.
• 59:00
[SPEAKER_07]: Didn't sound like you hit to me.
• 59:01
[SPEAKER_02]: You don't know what I hit sounds like I could hit things from before you were born kid you could get me it Don't fuck Solome who are you attack I'm gonna attack the human that hit me Yeah, so I'm attack with hmm.
• 59:19
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna attack with boom and blade.
• 59:21
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, oh shit.
• 59:23
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's gonna be a 13 to hit
• 59:25
[SPEAKER_08]: That is not going to do it.
• 59:27
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, can I do some kind of inside check or something?
• 59:30
[SPEAKER_02]: Will you let me as a bonus action just to see like what's happening here?
• 59:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Like why they're not registering?
• 59:38
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, roll out communication.
• 59:40
  [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
• 59:41
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
• 59:43
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I rolled a two and I have a plus three to decide.
• 59:48
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, with a phrase.
• 59:50
  [SPEAKER_02]: it's so insightful.
• 59:52
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh boy, you don't get much with a five, but I'll say like even with a five, they just seem undeterred.
• 1:00:00
[SPEAKER_09]: Like they are not afraid at all.
• 1:00:04
  [SPEAKER_09]: It's almost a little unnerving.
• 1:00:06
[SPEAKER_04]: Does it give it off any sort of charm or enchantment vibe?
• 1:00:10
  [SPEAKER_04]: Roll or Conna?
• 1:00:11
[SPEAKER_04]: That's not my strong suit.
• 1:00:13
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I'm sorry kid, do you need some help with magic?
• 1:00:15
  [SPEAKER_04]: Actually, that's an 18.
• 1:00:16
  [SPEAKER_04]: So apparently, yeah, okay.
• 1:00:19
[SPEAKER_09]: You have, uh, you've had dealings with sort of the shady undercity of three, and you know that that charms happen.
• 1:00:29
[SPEAKER_09]: And there, there seems like there might be something more at play here, just from their mannerisms and from the effects of people who are charmed, charm people do not think about the actions they take, they just take them.
• 1:00:46
[SPEAKER_09]: You know what, charms happen.
• 1:00:48
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order is the human, the human is going to swing on Salome.
• 1:00:52
  [SPEAKER_09]: All right.
• 1:00:53
[SPEAKER_09]: That is going to be an 11 to hit, so that is not going to do it.
• 1:00:58
  [SPEAKER_09]: After that is stop.
• 1:01:00
[SPEAKER_07]: How far away are the human and the dwarf from the door that I'm standing in?
• 1:01:07
[SPEAKER_09]: The entire length of the car is 45 feet.
• 1:01:10
[SPEAKER_09]: So I will say that they are probably at around the 40 foot mark.
• 1:01:15
  [SPEAKER_07]: Great.
• 1:01:15
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to run 30 feet out and then I'm going to love a vial from my chest at the human and cast the poison spray cantrip, which my, uh, so my, uh, I'm a, I'm in a pathocarrist artificer, which is a home for class.
• 1:01:31
[SPEAKER_07]: We'll talk about in the preview.
• 1:01:33
[SPEAKER_07]: And it lets me substitute a poison.
• 1:01:35
[SPEAKER_07]: I know how to create for my poison spray can'trip.
• 1:01:37
[SPEAKER_07]: So I'll be essentially throwing up assassins blood at this guy.
• 1:01:41
  [SPEAKER_07]: Ooh, that's good stuff.
• 1:01:43
[SPEAKER_07]: Ouch, he's so he has to make a DC-14 Constitution saving throw.
• 1:01:50
  [SPEAKER_09]: Okay, let's roll that.
• 1:01:54
  [SPEAKER_09]: Nope.
• 1:01:55
  [SPEAKER_04]: Get his ass.
• 1:01:56
  [SPEAKER_07]: Amazing.
• 1:01:57
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, his ass is gonna get guys as he's getting God.
• 1:01:59
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my right here in the middle of the train car.
• 1:02:02
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, man So that's gonna be 10 poison damage and is also poisoned for the next 24 hours great I don't think he's going to Live to see the effects of that potion.
• 1:02:15
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think he's gonna be around for very long great So with poison
• 1:02:20
[SPEAKER_09]: He has disadvantaged on skill checks and attack throws ability checks and attacks.
• 1:02:26
  [SPEAKER_09]: Okay, great.
• 1:02:27
[SPEAKER_09]: Anything else that you do?
• 1:02:28
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's all I got.
• 1:02:29
  [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, stop.
• 1:02:30
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order is the dwarf.
• 1:02:33
[SPEAKER_09]: The dwarf is going to attack you again, Solomon.
• 1:02:35
  [SPEAKER_02]: All right.
• 1:02:37
[SPEAKER_09]: That is another unnatural 20 to hit.
• 1:02:39
  [SPEAKER_09]: Wow.
• 1:02:40
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, well, you know what I'm going to go.
• 1:02:42
[SPEAKER_09]: That one's going to be 9 points if you're seeing damage.
• 1:02:45
  [SPEAKER_02]: Who?
• 1:02:45
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, sweetie, you doing all right up there?
• 1:02:48
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm doing fine.
• 1:02:51
[SPEAKER_02]: I think Solomon is so just like pissed off that these people have just come out and like started murdering people.
• 1:02:57
[SPEAKER_02]: And as soon as she feels like a little bit more damage, she just looks at the door if and says, listen, I've been going for my family for nine years and I'm sure it's shit ain't going to be kept from them on account of you and I'm going to cast Hellish Review.
• 1:03:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that'll be a deck save DC 13 and if they fail it'll be 2d 10 fire damage.
• 1:03:20
  [SPEAKER_08]: Uh, he doesn't needy.
• 1:03:22
  [SPEAKER_02]: He fails.
• 1:03:23
  [UNKNOWN]: Yep.
• 1:03:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's going to be nine damage right back to you.
• 1:03:26
  [SPEAKER_09]: Fantastic.
• 1:03:27
[SPEAKER_09]: So he is swings his pickback, pickaxe around and gets you on the side.
• 1:03:32
[SPEAKER_09]: But as he does, you lay your hand on his wrist and these flames just in case your entire arm and shoot down your arm and up his scorching his the whole way up.
• 1:03:47
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I meant to do it like that like I just think I meant to like shove him away and I didn't know I could do that so I think she's just like Oh And your outfits not even cinched.
• 1:03:56
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean look this dress is holding up real well.
• 1:03:58
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not gonna lie to you about seriously was you know I need to know the name of your tailor top of the order is hidden
• 1:04:06
[SPEAKER_04]: I think that just from sheer confusion and excitement over whatever just happened with that fire, Hayden is solely focused on the dwarf who, you know, is also Hunter's Marked.
• 1:04:18
[SPEAKER_04]: So let's go to down on that one.
• 1:04:20
  [SPEAKER_09]: Okay.
• 1:04:21
  [SPEAKER_04]: That is a 22 to hit.
• 1:04:23
  [SPEAKER_09]: That will hit.
• 1:04:25
  [SPEAKER_04]: It better.
• 1:04:25
  [SPEAKER_04]: 14 damage.
• 1:04:28
[SPEAKER_09]: You shoot your crossbow bolt.
• 1:04:30
  [SPEAKER_09]: It flies across.
• 1:04:33
[SPEAKER_09]: The dwarf spins from the impact of the arrow and collapses as well.
• 1:04:38
  [SPEAKER_04]: Groovy.
• 1:04:38
[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, you're just knocking him down.
• 1:04:40
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I would like to knock him out of today.
• 1:04:42
[SPEAKER_04]: It was not in my plan.
• 1:04:44
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
• 1:04:44
[SPEAKER_04]: And then bonus action, another, ooh, ooh, ooh, zoom in on my eyes.
• 1:04:48
[SPEAKER_04]: And I look at the human.
• 1:04:50
  [SPEAKER_04]: Ha, ha, ha, ha.
• 1:04:50
  [SPEAKER_04]: Only one left friend.
• 1:04:51
[SPEAKER_04]: Drop your weapon if you don't want to get dead.
• 1:04:54
  [SPEAKER_04]: He just keeps swinging.
• 1:04:56
[SPEAKER_09]: Uh, next the order is solving.
• 1:04:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna take one more attack with Bowman Blade and hope this works this time.
• 1:05:02
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's better.
• 1:05:03
[SPEAKER_02]: That is gonna be 22 damage.
• 1:05:06
  [SPEAKER_02]: Or 22 to hit.
• 1:05:07
  [SPEAKER_02]: 22 to hit.
• 1:05:08
  [SPEAKER_09]: 22 to hit?
• 1:05:09
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
• 1:05:10
  [SPEAKER_02]: All right.
• 1:05:12
[SPEAKER_02]: That is eight plus an extra two for Duelin.
• 1:05:15
[SPEAKER_02]: So that's 10 damage to the guy with my long sword.
• 1:05:19
  [SPEAKER_09]: Ooh, okay.
• 1:05:20
[SPEAKER_09]: You bring down your long sword, give him a grievous slash across his chest.
• 1:05:26
[SPEAKER_09]: and he is on death's door, but is hanging him everybody through it.
• 1:05:31
  [SPEAKER_02]: Question.
• 1:05:32
[SPEAKER_02]: Is it too late to throw us might on there?
• 1:05:35
[SPEAKER_04]: Just a little babies' night?
• 1:05:36
[SPEAKER_04]: Just a little, just a little, just a little one.
• 1:05:38
[SPEAKER_04]: Throw us might on there.
• 1:05:39
  [SPEAKER_04]: Just a little baby.
• 1:05:41
[SPEAKER_04]: Let's get some baby going.
• 1:05:42
[SPEAKER_09]: It is your first combat, so I will allow it once.
• 1:05:48
[SPEAKER_09]: But from now on, you gotta name your smite beforehand.
• 1:05:52
  [SPEAKER_02]: Gary.
• 1:05:52
  [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, that's fair, I can, I respect it.
• 1:05:57
[SPEAKER_02]: No, if he's just hanging on by thread, I'll just let Hayden finish him off.
• 1:06:02
  [SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
• 1:06:03
  [SPEAKER_10]: Why not?
• 1:06:03
  [SPEAKER_10]: Why not?
• 1:06:03
  [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, you keep missing.
• 1:06:04
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying.
• 1:06:05
[SPEAKER_07]: Hayden can pull off a whole hat trick.
• 1:06:07
  [SPEAKER_07]: Well, I'm up next.
• 1:06:08
[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll see what happens.
• 1:06:09
  [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
• 1:06:10
[SPEAKER_04]: That value through whatever that was.
• 1:06:12
  [SPEAKER_04]: It went very well.
• 1:06:13
[SPEAKER_04]: So just keep doing that thing and I'm on board.
• 1:06:17
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order is that human, uh, saw me how much health you have.
• 1:06:22
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I have 15 right now, but if he moves, he's going to take some damage.
• 1:06:30
[SPEAKER_09]: He's not going to move.
• 1:06:31
[SPEAKER_09]: He's just going to, he's, he's going to try and weigh along.
• 1:06:33
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
• 1:06:34
  [SPEAKER_02]: Alright.
• 1:06:36
[SPEAKER_09]: That is going to be a 12, so that is not going to do it.
• 1:06:40
[SPEAKER_09]: He brings his pickaxe down.
• 1:06:42
[SPEAKER_09]: He misses and as he does, he says, it doesn't matter anyway, he'll just bring his back.
• 1:06:53
[SPEAKER_07]: This is a whole question, dumps.
• 1:06:54
  [SPEAKER_07]: Answer it.
• 1:06:55
[SPEAKER_07]: Stumps gonna ignore that question because he's so caught up in this fight and showing up these kids is going to- A little babies.
• 1:07:02
  [SPEAKER_10]: Oh, children.
• 1:07:04
  [SPEAKER_10]: These 30-year-old children.
• 1:07:07
[SPEAKER_07]: So I'm gonna do a no-look pass with another via Poison spray vial and stare directly at Hayden as I throw the vial at the human.
• 1:07:16
[SPEAKER_04]: I've never wanted a fellow player to miss more than right now.
• 1:07:23
  [SPEAKER_09]: roll that attack.
• 1:07:24
  [SPEAKER_09]: Throw.
• 1:07:25
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, it's a constitution.
• 1:07:27
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, okay.
• 1:07:27
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, okay.
• 1:07:29
  [SPEAKER_09]: Let's do it.
• 1:07:31
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's a failure.
• 1:07:34
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's a stomp kind of like full-on like LeBron James John Stockton just like looks square at Hayden and then throws the vile in the other direction.
• 1:07:45
  [SPEAKER_07]: Four.
• 1:07:48
  [SPEAKER_07]: two damage.
• 1:07:51
  [SPEAKER_09]: The exact amount.
• 1:07:54
  [SPEAKER_04]: Perfect.
• 1:07:55
[SPEAKER_04]: The dice tells the story.
• 1:07:56
[SPEAKER_09]: The guy swings on Solomon.
• 1:07:58
  [SPEAKER_09]: Mrs says, doesn't matter.
• 1:08:00
[SPEAKER_09]: He'll just bring us back anyway.
• 1:08:02
[SPEAKER_09]: Solomon, you look at him and go, what does that mean?
• 1:08:07
[SPEAKER_09]: And before he can say anything, this vial of poison enters
• 1:08:16
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't even think it was supposed, and I think it was the glass.
• 1:08:19
[SPEAKER_04]: He didn't just, it doesn't polite golf clap, just wonderful.
• 1:08:23
  [SPEAKER_04]: Well done.
• 1:08:24
  [SPEAKER_04]: Truly amazing.
• 1:08:25
[SPEAKER_02]: For my main not to get on the wrong side either, you.
• 1:08:27
[SPEAKER_09]: You are out of initiative, but all of you make perception checks.
• 1:08:33
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's a whopping six for Hayden.
• 1:08:35
  [SPEAKER_09]: A, a, a, a, a, a, a four, a four.
• 1:08:38
  [SPEAKER_09]: Stunk guy, 16.
• 1:08:40
  [SPEAKER_09]: Perfect.
• 1:08:40
  [SPEAKER_09]: Whew.
• 1:08:41
  [SPEAKER_09]: Stunk guy, too.
• 1:08:43
[SPEAKER_09]: you hear screams coming from outside the train car.
• 1:08:47
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, so we're going to go get those screams.
• 1:08:51
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, I've got a bit of an idea.
• 1:08:54
[SPEAKER_04]: It might be a terrible idea, but I'm going to go for it.
• 1:08:58
[SPEAKER_04]: And Hayden closes their eyes and the ear doesn't feather in their cap starts to shimmer in glow.
• 1:09:06
[SPEAKER_04]: And before your eyes, they change head to toe.
• 1:09:10
[SPEAKER_04]: The hat turns into a cute little, a ficious part of a trained attendance uniform.
• 1:09:17
[SPEAKER_04]: And this man that you have never seen before and probably will never see is standing before you.
• 1:09:24
  [SPEAKER_04]: And says,
• 1:09:26
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, let's add outside.
• 1:09:28
[SPEAKER_04]: Speaking of hat tricks, that's a good one.
• 1:09:31
[SPEAKER_04]: Yep, and no time to explain it, let's go to Eddle.
• 1:09:34
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, and I just had right for the door and swing it open.
• 1:09:39
[SPEAKER_09]: So you exit the train.
• 1:09:41
[SPEAKER_09]: In front of you is the canyon wall about 30 feet away.
• 1:09:45
[SPEAKER_09]: To your left, down the train, you see that from the top of the canyon wall, boulders have blocked the train's path.
• 1:09:57
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's unfortunate.
• 1:09:59
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
• 1:10:00
[SPEAKER_09]: In front of that, however, a couple cars down is the cargo car.
• 1:10:05
[SPEAKER_09]: and you see multiple for lack of better word Raiders are removing items from the cargo car and throwing them into the back of a cart.
• 1:10:16
[SPEAKER_09]: This cart is being pulled by four hyena dogs or giant hyenas.
• 1:10:22
  [SPEAKER_10]: Oh, that's cool.
• 1:10:23
[SPEAKER_09]: There is one human with a sword strapped to each hand, leading the charge.
• 1:10:32
[SPEAKER_09]: He turns, you see a guard run from the train, sword up to try and strike this berserker.
• 1:10:40
[SPEAKER_09]: The berserker ducks under the sword and brings up his two swords, flashing this guard from underneath, and killing him in one blow.
• 1:10:49
[SPEAKER_09]: As he turns the guard drops behind him and the berserker sees the three of you, he holds up a sword and two nobles split off from the raiding party and run towards you.
• 1:11:04
[SPEAKER_04]: So this is a by pedal hyena versus the all fours ones that are playing the cart.
• 1:11:10
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, a null is a hyena person, so most of their body is human-like, but their head is of a hyena.
• 1:11:20
[SPEAKER_09]: You see, they are standing on sort of these double-jointed canine-like legs.
• 1:11:25
[SPEAKER_09]: Their upper torso is humanoid with hands and leading up to their hyena-like head is sort of a
• 1:11:40
  [SPEAKER_09]: Come on.
• 1:11:43
[SPEAKER_02]: They're on a pretty much thick neck.
• 1:11:46
  [SPEAKER_09]: Like a heinen.
• 1:11:47
  [SPEAKER_02]: How thick?
• 1:11:47
  [SPEAKER_09]: How thick is this?
• 1:11:49
  [SPEAKER_04]: Like a heinen.
• 1:11:50
  [SPEAKER_08]: Like a dog's neck, you know?
• 1:11:52
  [UNKNOWN]: All right.
• 1:11:53
[SPEAKER_04]: Hayden holds up their hands and says, Hey, they're friends.
• 1:11:57
  [SPEAKER_04]: I'm Carl.
• 1:11:58
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm from guest relations for the train.
• 1:12:00
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure that we can sort everything out here.
• 1:12:03
[SPEAKER_04]: Why don't we just sit down?
• 1:12:05
[SPEAKER_04]: Have a little tea and chat this out.
• 1:12:07
  [SPEAKER_04]: What do you say?
• 1:12:08
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, one of the, one of the, one of the nobles Shouts kill the conductor.
• 1:12:12
  [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, all right.
• 1:12:14
[SPEAKER_04]: That's not the reaction I was hoping for.
• 1:12:16
[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm gonna do some old fashion, dip plumsy, and I pull out the crossbow.
• 1:12:21
  [SPEAKER_02]: This didn't work.
• 1:12:22
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
• 1:12:23
[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, I mean, it's worth the shot.
• 1:12:25
  [SPEAKER_09]: Literally.
• 1:12:26
[SPEAKER_04]: It was a very quick shot.
• 1:12:28
[SPEAKER_09]: I will keep your initiative rolls from last time and just roll these new three into the mix.
• 1:12:33
  [SPEAKER_04]: Now Casey, yes.
• 1:12:34
[SPEAKER_04]: Does this count as a new combat for us?
• 1:12:39
[SPEAKER_04]: You know the answer that I want you to give.
• 1:12:42
[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, give me my bonus ideas.
• 1:12:45
  [SPEAKER_05]: Yes!
• 1:12:46
[SPEAKER_02]: There was a whole attempt at diplomacy before the fighting started.
• 1:12:51
[SPEAKER_09]: All right, y'all give it to you.
• 1:12:53
[SPEAKER_04]: Carl, call from human gas relations is all ready to go into Carl from nature.
• 1:13:00
  [SPEAKER_10]: Carl from nature.
• 1:13:02
  [SPEAKER_10]: Carl from nature.
• 1:13:03
[SPEAKER_04]: Carl from nature is going to be showing up throughout this campaign.
• 1:13:06
  [SPEAKER_04]: I guarantee you.
• 1:13:09
[SPEAKER_04]: So am I starting us off here?
• 1:13:10
  [SPEAKER_09]: Absolutely, nobody rolled above a 22.
• 1:13:13
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, I'm going to bone in section, woo, woo, woo, and move my hunt part to one of the high unidones.
• 1:13:22
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'm hoping I can, you know, take them out and make sure this cart doesn't actually go anywhere.
• 1:13:29
[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm going to fire at one of the high unidones.
• 1:13:31
  [SPEAKER_02]: How long, Carl?
• 1:13:32
[SPEAKER_04]: Show them how they do it in human resources.
• 1:13:34
[SPEAKER_04]: human relation sorry about that that is a 23 to hit that is going to hit most damage we'll do hey got real stringed about their ptl policy that is 19 damage and because it's the first round I get to attack again that is another 23 to hit and this one will be nine more damage so that was 19 plus nine
• 1:14:04
  [SPEAKER_09]: 28.
• 1:14:05
[SPEAKER_09]: You fire this crossbow bolt, it zings through the combat, and hits this hanging to dawn in the side.
• 1:14:14
[SPEAKER_09]: As you do that, you see a weird creature round the cart.
• 1:14:23
[SPEAKER_09]: It has the body of a horse, a long, bifurcated tail, the head of a badger and the face of a human male.
• 1:14:35
  [SPEAKER_02]: No thanks.
• 1:14:36
  [SPEAKER_07]: How's it's neck?
• 1:14:37
  [SPEAKER_09]: It's neck stick dude.
• 1:14:40
[SPEAKER_09]: It rounds the cart, it sees the haynodon yelp and pain, and you see it make a decision and it's mind.
• 1:14:48
[SPEAKER_09]: it turns and says go go go go.
• 1:14:53
[SPEAKER_09]: The Raiders begin jumping into the cart.
• 1:14:57
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh no!
• 1:14:58
[SPEAKER_09]: As it says go, you see in its mouth instead of tea is a ridge of bone.
• 1:15:06
  [SPEAKER_07]: Is it a pointy?
• 1:15:07
[SPEAKER_07]: Like as the bone ridge pointy?
• 1:15:09
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yes.
• 1:15:10
  [UNKNOWN]: I
• 1:15:11
[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that no sentence that begins with instead of teeth is ever going to end well.
• 1:15:20
[SPEAKER_04]: I never want to hear a sentence that begins that way.
• 1:15:22
  [SPEAKER_04]: Instead of teeth.
• 1:15:23
  [SPEAKER_04]: Some of them.
• 1:15:24
[SPEAKER_09]: Instead of teeth, it has eyes.
• 1:15:27
  [SPEAKER_02]: So high.
• 1:15:28
  [SPEAKER_02]: Either way.
• 1:15:29
  [SPEAKER_09]: It's spooky.
• 1:15:31
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order is the berserker.
• 1:15:34
[SPEAKER_09]: The berserker is going to rush towards you.
• 1:15:38
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, hey, he just saw you attack the hiding-to-dance, so he's going to try and strike at you.
• 1:15:43
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, thank you.
• 1:15:44
[SPEAKER_09]: So he's going to roll that is going to be a 19-to-hit.
• 1:15:49
  [SPEAKER_04]: That'll hit me.
• 1:15:50
[SPEAKER_09]: Uh, eight points of slashing damage.
• 1:15:52
  [SPEAKER_04]: I don't like that.
• 1:15:54
[SPEAKER_09]: And then he's going to attack with this other sword.
• 1:15:58
  [SPEAKER_09]: And that is a 14.
• 1:16:00
  [SPEAKER_04]: that does not hit.
• 1:16:02
[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, so he slashes down with one sword and catches you and catches you in the side, but then swings down with his other and you duck under it just in time.
• 1:16:14
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order is one of the noels.
• 1:16:17
[SPEAKER_09]: That noel is going to rush at you Solomon and is not going to end you.
• 1:16:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Y'all are supposed to get going, look, you're, you're gas, and go, go and get, I'm going to, um, am I close enough to the berserker to attack him?
• 1:16:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I'll say that if you do, you take an opportunity to attack from the, I just want to get the berserker off of Hayden really, um, or like help out maybe, oh yeah, I'll take the opportunity to attack.
• 1:16:48
  [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
• 1:16:48
  [SPEAKER_09]: Uh, that is a 70 doesn't hit.
• 1:16:51
  [SPEAKER_09]: There we go.
• 1:16:52
  [SPEAKER_02]: All right.
• 1:16:52
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm all around after Hayden.
• 1:16:53
  [SPEAKER_07]: It must be nice.
• 1:16:54
  [SPEAKER_02]: It is.
• 1:16:56
[SPEAKER_02]: It's good to have high AC.
• 1:16:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to run towards the Berserker in attack.
• 1:17:00
  [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
• 1:17:01
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, uh, that is, I don't know.
• 1:17:03
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe, uh, it's going to be 17 to hit.
• 1:17:06
[SPEAKER_09]: that is going to hit off with booming blade.
• 1:17:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so if he moves, he's going to take some damage.
• 1:17:12
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also going to tack on a smite onto that, a divine smite onto that.
• 1:17:17
  [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
• 1:17:18
[SPEAKER_02]: So that's going to be 3d8 plus 7 with dueling.
• 1:17:24
[SPEAKER_02]: whoo, love rolling a whole bunch of dies 22 damage she's good hit so I think I think one solid-based smites her holy symbol is this jar of like rose petals, salts and a little piece of paper inside and it's kind of wrapped all around in these wild rose brires so when she goes to smite I think wild roses like grow up and into the womb that she made and start
• 1:17:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Festering into it and exacerbating it like these vines, flowers, and thorns and everything start just Pulling apart the wound that she just made with the sword.
• 1:18:03
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, God.
• 1:18:03
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, okay.
• 1:18:04
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, it's like real bloody and gross You bring down your sword and it's like the thorns Switch from your from your blade to the wound and just start sort of pulling it open
• 1:18:16
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
• 1:18:17
  [SPEAKER_04]: Real nasty.
• 1:18:18
  [SPEAKER_04]: Gross.
• 1:18:18
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
• 1:18:19
[SPEAKER_04]: That's really gross, and I'm really into it.
• 1:18:22
[SPEAKER_09]: The person is like, oh, what the fuck?
• 1:18:26
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order is the other null.
• 1:18:28
[SPEAKER_09]: That null is going to run at use.
• 1:18:31
  [SPEAKER_09]: Stop.
• 1:18:32
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, great.
• 1:18:33
[SPEAKER_09]: Just to get you into this.
• 1:18:35
  [SPEAKER_08]: Great.
• 1:18:36
  [SPEAKER_07]: You felt left out.
• 1:18:38
  [SPEAKER_07]: They don't have to.
• 1:18:39
[SPEAKER_09]: That's going to be, that's going to be a 16 to hit.
• 1:18:42
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, that hits, that is going to be 9 points of slashing.
• 1:18:47
[SPEAKER_07]: I'll allow it, just this one, this is time.
• 1:18:52
[SPEAKER_09]: Great, and that's his turn, Stumps your turn.
• 1:18:55
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, so I'm gonna grab a vial poison and just kind of take off the stopper and poison spray by just throwing the inside of the vial onto the null that just attacked me.
• 1:19:06
[SPEAKER_09]: Great, yeah, you turn, you slosh it, and as soon as it hits skin, you just hear, as it begins eating at the flesh underneath,
• 1:19:17
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't, didn't you say you were some kind of healer?
• 1:19:20
  [SPEAKER_07]: Uh, I, I, I, I heal things and I, on heal things.
• 1:19:25
[SPEAKER_04]: Emphasis on the unhealing at this point.
• 1:19:27
[SPEAKER_07]: Does it do any damage?
• 1:19:28
  [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
• 1:19:29
[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, how much do you make it to you?
• 1:19:30
[SPEAKER_07]: It's got to make a constitution save it there.
• 1:19:32
  [SPEAKER_07]: That's right.
• 1:19:34
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh yeah, no he fails.
• 1:19:35
[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, I can't roll it throw to save my life today.
• 1:19:38
[SPEAKER_04]: No one's upset about that.
• 1:19:39
[SPEAKER_09]: Um, six and his poisoned six.
• 1:19:42
[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, he's not looking bloody, but he's looking like that sucks.
• 1:19:47
  [SPEAKER_09]: Hey, your turn.
• 1:19:49
[SPEAKER_04]: Do we have any idea what they're actually loading onto this card?
• 1:19:53
[SPEAKER_09]: Make an investigation check and I'll say with disadvantage because I'm an active combat Currently getting beat up by a person.
• 1:20:04
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yes
• 1:20:04
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah okay well with a natural two there who plus one that's a three I don't think I know what they're loading onto this guard yeah I'll say like you're you're trying to look but this berserker keeps like swinging on you and it's really distracting all right well
• 1:20:26
[SPEAKER_04]: I gotta try and hit around this berserker, but I know I'm gonna be firing a disadvantage to try and finish off this hyenidon, so let's do what happens.
• 1:20:38
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's a natural 5 plus 7 is 12, that's probably not gonna do it.
• 1:20:45
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, no, your arrow flies wide and does not hit it.
• 1:20:49
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
• 1:20:50
  [SPEAKER_09]: Next is the berserker.
• 1:20:53
[SPEAKER_09]: Solimate, did you hit him last turn?
• 1:20:55
  [SPEAKER_02]: I sure did.
• 1:20:55
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's true.
• 1:20:57
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, these wild roses are tearing open a wound in a side.
• 1:21:02
[SPEAKER_09]: He turns and is going to make his two attacks at you this time.
• 1:21:06
  [SPEAKER_10]: Oh, okay.
• 1:21:07
  [SPEAKER_09]: That is a 19 and a 14 to hit.
• 1:21:14
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, he's gonna do 9 points damage.
• 1:21:17
[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, I'll get you back for it, don't you worry.
• 1:21:19
[SPEAKER_09]: Great, next thing order is the... No, I think the null attack you saw right.
• 1:21:26
[SPEAKER_02]: The null did attack me last time, is he gonna get me again?
• 1:21:28
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, he's gonna get you again.
• 1:21:30
[SPEAKER_02]: You little fuckers, I'm trying to save a smite.
• 1:21:31
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yep, that's a 19 to hit.
• 1:21:33
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that'll hit.
• 1:21:34
[SPEAKER_09]: That's gonna be five points of damage.
• 1:21:38
  [SPEAKER_10]: We're still standing.
• 1:21:43
[SPEAKER_02]: How do you feel when I do a great but I just like to finish this thing?
• 1:21:46
  [SPEAKER_09]: Great.
• 1:21:47
[SPEAKER_09]: Next in the order is the other null that null is No, it's all me.
• 1:21:52
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, okay.
• 1:21:53
  [SPEAKER_09]: It's all my sugar
• 1:21:55
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm going to try to finish this berserker, and if I go down, any of y'all are able to help me out?
• 1:22:00
[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, yeah, I can help out.
• 1:22:02
[SPEAKER_02]: What the heck is something out?
• 1:22:03
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we're out.
• 1:22:04
  [SPEAKER_02]: We'll find out.
• 1:22:05
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
• 1:22:05
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to run up to the berserker.
• 1:22:08
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to cast, I keep forgetting to do this.
• 1:22:10
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to cast Hexplade's curse.
• 1:22:12
[SPEAKER_02]: So as a bonus action, he's cursed for a minute.
• 1:22:16
[SPEAKER_02]: I get a plus two bonus to damage rolls.
• 1:22:18
[SPEAKER_02]: I crit on a 19 or 20, and I get four HP back if it dies.
• 1:22:22
  [SPEAKER_02]: So fingers crossed.
• 1:22:23
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, that is going to be a, uh, 21 to hit that will hit all right.
• 1:22:31
[SPEAKER_02]: And then, uh, I'll attack on a divine smite on that as well.
• 1:22:35
[SPEAKER_02]: So that's three more D eight plus seven.
• 1:22:38
  [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
• 1:22:38
[SPEAKER_02]: Now I actually have to think count this.
• 1:22:40
[SPEAKER_04]: Now it's time for some males.
• 1:22:42
  [SPEAKER_04]: Puzzling out some math.
• 1:22:43
[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna add up some weight.
• 1:22:45
  [SPEAKER_04]: I can't hold on.
• 1:22:47
  [SPEAKER_10]: I can't think I can't think.
• 1:22:48
[SPEAKER_10]: I can do it at the same time.
• 1:22:50
[SPEAKER_02]: I just thought of this.
• 1:22:52
  [SPEAKER_02]: 15.
• 1:22:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Plus 5 is 20 plus 2 for the dueling damage.
• 1:22:56
[SPEAKER_02]: Is 22 plus 2 from the Hacksuit Pursus 24.
• 1:22:59
  [SPEAKER_02]: 24 points of damage.
• 1:23:01
  [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, woof.
• 1:23:02
  [SPEAKER_02]: Do I get him?
• 1:23:03
[SPEAKER_09]: This berserker goes from not bloody to on-depth store.
• 1:23:10
[SPEAKER_09]: in a matter of seconds as you bring this blade down on him.
• 1:23:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think, um, I think as I like, smite again, like you see this like, spots, how long has been very nice?
• 1:23:19
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think you see this like uncharacteristic, like just rage building up in her as she like stabs back into the wound that she had already opened and not even with thorns this time, just flowers start like growing in his insides.
• 1:23:35
  [SPEAKER_02]: They're so pretty.
• 1:23:36
  [SPEAKER_04]: And somehow more grows.
• 1:23:38
  [SPEAKER_04]: Just all Gerber days.
• 1:23:39
[SPEAKER_09]: You catch a glimpse of these like lines snaking into his body and start like wrapping around whatever's in there.
• 1:23:47
  [SPEAKER_09]: It's it's despicable.
• 1:23:51
  [SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty gross.
• 1:23:52
  [SPEAKER_09]: Great.
• 1:23:53
[SPEAKER_09]: Next is the Noel that attacked you, stump.
• 1:23:55
[SPEAKER_09]: He's going to attack you again just for fun.
• 1:23:58
  [SPEAKER_09]: Sure.
• 1:23:58
  [SPEAKER_09]: That's a 19 to hit.
• 1:24:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that won't hit it.
• 1:24:02
  [SPEAKER_07]: How you doing?
• 1:24:03
  [SPEAKER_07]: I'm okay.
• 1:24:05
  [SPEAKER_07]: Stop, stop, stop, right?
• 1:24:06
  [SPEAKER_07]: He's out of day.
• 1:24:06
[SPEAKER_07]: He's gotten crime, and then he got hit by this null.
• 1:24:10
[SPEAKER_07]: It's okay, it's just five points of slashing.
• 1:24:13
  [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
• 1:24:14
[SPEAKER_04]: You know, assault is also a crime.
• 1:24:16
[SPEAKER_04]: So you're really getting crime right in the left, huh?
• 1:24:18
  [SPEAKER_04]: So is a pepper.
• 1:24:19
[SPEAKER_07]: Stomp throws his poisons spray at salt in my office.
• 1:24:23
[SPEAKER_10]: He's one point of damage from the glass and dies.
• 1:24:25
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
• 1:24:43
  [SPEAKER_07]: So I'm not 10 feet away.
• 1:24:45
  [SPEAKER_07]: What's that?
• 1:24:45
[SPEAKER_07]: You can be 10 feet away.
• 1:24:46
  [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah.
• 1:24:47
  [SPEAKER_07]: Amazing.
• 1:24:47
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to throw poison while I don't want to.
• 1:24:50
  [SPEAKER_10]: It, right, love it.
• 1:24:51
  [SPEAKER_07]: Make a constitution, save a girl.
• 1:24:54
  [SPEAKER_07]: OK.
• 1:24:54
  [SPEAKER_09]: Poison spray.
• 1:24:56
  [SPEAKER_09]: I rolled another 13.
• 1:24:59
  [SPEAKER_07]: And that's still a fail.
• 1:25:01
[SPEAKER_09]: That's going to be eight and poisoned.
• 1:25:05
[SPEAKER_09]: Don't worry about the poison.
• 1:25:09
[SPEAKER_09]: Because it is eight and he just collapses.
• 1:25:12
[SPEAKER_07]: Can I, once again, stare directly at the null that attacked me and then no look pass it directly at the berserker and just stare into the nulls eyes roll an intimidation check and You know what I'm gonna give you I'm gonna give you advantage and I'll tell you why and just a second Thank you.
• 1:25:32
[SPEAKER_09]: It was necessary Oh, that bitch gave me a head the 18.
• 1:25:36
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, with an 18 The berserker collapses and a couple of things happened at once
• 1:25:42
[SPEAKER_09]: In the distance, you see the rest of the raiders jump into the cart and the hyena don'ts get moving and the cart rolls around the canyon wall and into a divide in the canyon wall and disappears.
• 1:25:58
[SPEAKER_09]: The nose that you're fighting or the nose specifically stump that you're fighting sees that happen and then sees you down his leader in one hit.
• 1:26:09
[SPEAKER_09]: and he turns tail and runs.
• 1:26:12
[SPEAKER_07]: Can I try to punch him with an opportunity to?
• 1:26:14
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, just right in the back of the head.
• 1:26:17
  [SPEAKER_07]: That's a 10, misses.
• 1:26:19
  [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, that misses.
• 1:26:20
[SPEAKER_09]: He trying to get a good swing in, but he's, he's running away.
• 1:26:23
[SPEAKER_09]: The other null sees this happen.
• 1:26:25
[SPEAKER_09]: Realizes he's the only one in the fight in terms of runs too.
• 1:26:29
[SPEAKER_09]: And you are out of combat as these two take off after the fight.
• 1:26:34
[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, that was a lot of blood.
• 1:26:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, sorry, y'all, that was just all real intense for a second.
• 1:26:40
[SPEAKER_04]: Not, you know what, honey, we can sit down, we can chat out our feelings at another time.
• 1:26:46
[SPEAKER_04]: Right now, we got to follow them.
• 1:26:47
[SPEAKER_04]: I could track them, I got my skills, but we got to get on this now.
• 1:26:51
[SPEAKER_09]: As you say that, you hear it.
• 1:26:55
  [SPEAKER_09]: Ugh.
• 1:26:56
[SPEAKER_09]: Coming from the storage car.
• 1:26:59
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, let's take a look.
• 1:27:00
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think we run over.
• 1:27:02
[SPEAKER_09]: in the storage car, behind a couple of crates, Solomon, you recognize this person.
• 1:27:10
[SPEAKER_09]: The other two, stump you definitely don't.
• 1:27:15
[SPEAKER_09]: You recognize that this is the conductor that you saw on the platform earlier today.
• 1:27:22
  [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, he's not a pretty sight.
• 1:27:24
  [SPEAKER_07]: Are they conscious?
• 1:27:26
  [SPEAKER_09]: Barely.
• 1:27:28
[SPEAKER_09]: He like, this guy, unfortunately, looks like nothing short of a wish spell.
• 1:27:35
[SPEAKER_09]: It's going to save this guy from crossing the river.
• 1:27:37
[SPEAKER_07]: Could we, could I use spare the dying, the catcher?
• 1:27:40
[SPEAKER_09]: To what would, would that would stabilize him?
• 1:27:44
[SPEAKER_07]: It says, you touch a living creature that has zero hit points and the creature becomes stable.
• 1:27:49
  [SPEAKER_07]: I'm assuming they're not dead or a construct.
• 1:27:52
[SPEAKER_09]: One thing I do want to preface is that like healing in this game do it like is not a miracle.
• 1:28:04
[SPEAKER_09]: Like there there will be certain points where people will be beyond heline.
• 1:28:08
[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, and so this this guy like he has some insights outside like he's he's he's in a bad way.
• 1:28:18
[SPEAKER_09]: Um, and so I think spare the dying will give him a few more minutes.
• 1:28:23
  [SPEAKER_09]: I'll say this.
• 1:28:25
[SPEAKER_09]: It won't bring him back from like the he's already fell to Steph saves.
• 1:28:30
[SPEAKER_09]: He's on his way out the door, but I think this will ease his transition.
• 1:28:35
  [SPEAKER_07]: Great.
• 1:28:35
  [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
• 1:28:36
[SPEAKER_07]: I take a different file off of my bed earlier and give him a little bit
• 1:28:48
[SPEAKER_06]: Hey, friend, of course any time.
• 1:28:51
  [SPEAKER_06]: You got me next.
• 1:28:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Can I walk over and just sit down next to him?
• 1:29:00
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
• 1:29:01
[SPEAKER_02]: I, yeah, I sit down next to him and then just trying to remember how my mom helped people through this transition, seeing that he's going to die, just try to replicate that, the best that I can, but first, I guess if he's got a little extra time, I'll just sit down
• 1:29:29
  [SPEAKER_02]: fell up.
• 1:29:30
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's a real nice name.
• 1:29:32
  [SPEAKER_02]: How are you feeling?
• 1:29:33
[SPEAKER_09]: He sort of makes eye contact with you stomp and his gaze is a little blurry and he says feeling better now.
• 1:29:43
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm glad.
• 1:29:45
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I hear I have it on good authority that crossing the river can actually be pretty painless as soon
• 1:29:56
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm sorry.
• 1:29:58
  [SPEAKER_02]: I don't mean to scare you.
• 1:30:00
[SPEAKER_02]: But do you think you could help us for a second?
• 1:30:06
[SPEAKER_09]: He sort of grown ones and goes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:30:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Would you mind telling us what you saw?
• 1:30:12
[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, they took the crates, the Jamison.
• 1:30:20
[SPEAKER_02]: What was in there, Dino?
• 1:30:21
  [SPEAKER_02]: Was in there?
• 1:30:22
  [SPEAKER_05]: Fire powder.
• 1:30:25
[SPEAKER_05]: Five crates of fire powder.
• 1:30:29
[SPEAKER_05]: I said we couldn't move without a garrison to guard him and they told us to go.
• 1:30:35
[SPEAKER_02]: I think you were right about that sweetheart, um.
• 1:30:39
  [SPEAKER_05]: This isn't...
• 1:30:41
[SPEAKER_05]: I'd die the fool now.
• 1:30:42
[SPEAKER_02]: No, hey, you did everything you could, darling.
• 1:30:46
[SPEAKER_02]: You did everything you could, and you did a great job.
• 1:30:48
[SPEAKER_02]: And here's what I want you to do.
• 1:30:51
[SPEAKER_02]: And I just take his hand.
• 1:30:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Who's the most important person in the world to you?
• 1:30:56
[SPEAKER_05]: Well, that was my dad.
• 1:31:00
[SPEAKER_05]: I guess he might be waiting for me.
• 1:31:04
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you just Matt B.
• 1:31:07
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll fill up our thought that you'd close your eyes and just imagine a river out in front of you.
• 1:31:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Just like the one running through the badlands.
• 1:31:16
[SPEAKER_02]: I want you to look across it and see your daddy looking back at you.
• 1:31:21
[SPEAKER_02]: And just relax and whenever you're ready you're out, why don't?
• 1:31:25
[SPEAKER_02]: I think you should just try walking out toward him.
• 1:31:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Just keep it as simple as that.
• 1:31:29
[SPEAKER_02]: Keep his face in your mind though.
• 1:31:30
  [SPEAKER_02]: Don't lose that.
• 1:31:32
[SPEAKER_09]: You say that and he nods and he closes his eyes and you feel the tension release in his hand.
• 1:31:44
  [SPEAKER_09]: And then something happens.
• 1:31:48
[SPEAKER_09]: You are sitting with this deceased half-ling conductor and you see the shadow that he casts on the wall behind him.
• 1:32:02
  [SPEAKER_09]: and it grows.
• 1:32:06
[SPEAKER_09]: Until it is a completely different figure outlined on the wall.
• 1:32:12
[SPEAKER_09]: This figure seems dressed in maybe a robe or a trench coat or something draping.
• 1:32:20
  [SPEAKER_09]: They were a long-brand hat.
• 1:32:25
[SPEAKER_09]: And as their head moves up, you see even in the shadow blazing blue eyes.
• 1:32:34
[SPEAKER_09]: You fall backward, and it blinks out of existence.
• 1:32:40
[SPEAKER_09]: You, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you
