- 0:00Speaker 1: It's welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's edition of Sarrealda
- 0:20Speaker 1: Show episodumber seven or fifty eight for August twenty second,
- 0:23Speaker 1: twenty twenty four.
- 0:25Speaker 2: This is your aw all in preview and predictions edition
- 0:29Speaker 2: of s R T. You I am one after the show,
- 0:34Speaker 2: I am Jeff Peck joined every single week like host
- 0:37Speaker 2: only doctor Trey Franklin, Doctor Trey. Are you all in
- 0:40Speaker 2: in all in this year? My friend?
- 0:45Speaker 3: Uh, it's like the hockey pokey? Can I just put
- 0:48Speaker 3: my right foot in and take my right foot out
- 0:51Speaker 3: and then put my right foot back in.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Then I'll just take it all about and then you
- 0:55Speaker 2: do have the hockey pokey?
- 0:56Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, but I mean, uh, I mean hokey pokey
- 0:59Speaker 3: hasn't been trademarked by other companies. I really haven't surprised
- 1:03Speaker 3: in my forty years of wrestling fan and that nobody
- 1:05Speaker 3: has come out to the hockey pokey song.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Hey, it's that is actually kind of surprising. Yeah, like right,
- 1:13Speaker 2: like that, there's no like mister Rogers. I guess like
- 1:15Speaker 2: Bray Whitt did a Mister Rogers the like thing, but
- 1:18Speaker 2: like a child educational gimmick, and that's like their theme songs,
- 1:26Speaker 2: the hockey Pokey.
- 1:27Speaker 3: That would I mean that or just you know some
- 1:30Speaker 3: like I don't want to say, like maybe the ice
- 1:32Speaker 3: like we had a clown, we never really had the
- 1:34Speaker 3: ice cream man, you know with his little like a
- 1:37Speaker 3: little truck with the music that plays like that would
- 1:40Speaker 3: be clever or something like that. But I know most
- 1:42Speaker 3: hardcore wrestling fans don't like gimmicks. They just want to
- 1:46Speaker 3: see their wrestling action. I'm like, no, I like, I
- 1:48Speaker 3: still like my.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Characters, which which is bizarre because this is gonna be
- 1:52Speaker 2: like completely aw focused. And I had tweeted about this
- 1:56Speaker 2: over the weekend. I was watching Collision and I'm a
- 1:58Speaker 2: big fan of top flying action in Andretti. I think
- 2:01Speaker 2: there's obviously a huge world upside there and those guys
- 2:03Speaker 2: are extremely talented and clearly like Tony Kahan likes them.
- 2:09Speaker 2: They added one of jade card gills, like like v Battie,
- 2:14Speaker 2: the one that wasn't red Velvet. I cannot remember the
- 2:17Speaker 2: name now for the sake of me, do you remember
- 2:19Speaker 2: that name?
- 2:20Speaker 3: Your name Laila something?
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Laylah Gray, Leila Gray. So they've added her and
- 2:24Speaker 2: she was like in this flight attendant gimmick, which is
- 2:28Speaker 2: like obviously like borderline like attitude Era working on a
- 2:33Speaker 2: sex appealed esque that they're doing with that character and
- 2:37Speaker 2: on collision freaking top flight in Action Andretti came out
- 2:41Speaker 2: in pilot outfits and I'm like, what the hell is this?
- 2:46Speaker 2: Like this a is this like a like a joke?
- 2:49Speaker 2: Like is this supposed to lead to something? It felt
- 2:51Speaker 2: so gimmicky to me, felt like so early nineties, and
- 2:55Speaker 2: it's just funny that you brought up like wrestling fans
- 2:57Speaker 2: don't like gimmicks. I'm like, why why are we doing this?
- 3:01Speaker 2: Like I can understand the Layla Gray thing, but then
- 3:03Speaker 2: putting Action and Ready and the Martin brothers in pilot outfits,
- 3:08Speaker 2: like whoa, this feels like ww to me.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so funny thing because I thought about that this
- 3:14Speaker 3: I saw that, I was like, you know, for me,
- 3:16Speaker 3: like being I guess I'm older. I grew up in
- 3:17Speaker 3: that air a little more than everybody else did. Like
- 3:20Speaker 3: I didn't hate it because one of the things I
- 3:24Speaker 3: talked to a lot of the younger guys on the
- 3:25Speaker 3: Independence thing about is if you can do all the
- 3:29Speaker 3: moves and everybody's about the same height, the same build,
- 3:32Speaker 3: and they're all kind of doing the same moves what
- 3:35Speaker 3: makes you stand out And as corny or as cringey
- 3:40Speaker 3: as the outfits may have looked, everybody's talking about it.
- 3:44Speaker 3: So it has made them stand out a little bit. Now,
- 3:47Speaker 3: over the course of time, they'll get some fine tuning
- 3:49Speaker 3: and stuff to it, but it does kind of play
- 3:52Speaker 3: into the play, into the name, and it does make
- 3:54Speaker 3: them stand out now good or bad, you know it does.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Sometimes it doesn't matter, but it's it's making people take
- 4:02Speaker 3: notice of them and go, oh, man, Like I think
- 4:04Speaker 3: that match they had on Collision actually has more views
- 4:08Speaker 3: than any other match on Collision from the weekend.
- 4:11Speaker 2: So and you think it says they were in pilot offense.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I think people were like, man, have you seen what
- 4:16Speaker 3: these guys are doing? The gum and pilot outfits, and
- 4:17Speaker 3: people went to go watch. So it has drawn attention
- 4:21Speaker 3: to them. It's just now you want more eyes on you.
- 4:25Speaker 3: And then they go, man, these guys can actually really
- 4:27Speaker 3: wrestle despite the captain's outfits. Now you make a little
- 4:32Speaker 3: few more fans. So it does they if because I
- 4:36Speaker 3: used to have the issue now with them, so might well.
- 4:38Speaker 3: But like Private Party, all these smaller tag teams private party,
- 4:42Speaker 3: top Flight. They all kind of do a lot of
- 4:44Speaker 3: the same stuff, so at least this kind of stands
- 4:48Speaker 3: them out and kind of brands them a little bit,
- 4:50Speaker 3: and then hopefully they can kind of find tuna to
- 4:52Speaker 3: where it doesn't look so corny in a few months.
- 4:54Speaker 3: But it does make them stand out a little bit.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I just felt like they didn't need to do it,
- 4:58Speaker 2: And I think if in this day they've been rocking
- 5:01Speaker 2: with this whole, like every flight is a red eye
- 5:04Speaker 2: flight obviously head tilting a little bit towards four twenty,
- 5:09Speaker 2: I think if they did something more in that vein
- 5:13Speaker 2: and a little bit more acceptable in like twenty twenty
- 5:15Speaker 2: four wrestling, I think that would have been maybe the
- 5:18Speaker 2: gimmick that you would have gone with it rather than
- 5:19Speaker 2: the pilot outfits.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Downside is then if they go over like the rascals, Sorry,
- 5:25Speaker 3: if they go a little more that way, they're kind
- 5:28Speaker 3: of infringing on rascals territory. I people call them out
- 5:31Speaker 3: on it. So once again, what we did was when
- 5:34Speaker 3: was something that really nobody's done, Like, nobody's.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Done, nobody's been a pilot in wrestling. Yeah, so yeah,
- 5:44Speaker 4: that'll do it for this week. Position a sort of
- 5:46Speaker 4: you know, we just had a discussion about top flight.
- 5:49Speaker 2: That's all we're doing today. Good luck, enjoy all in
- 5:52Speaker 2: and we will check you out next week. Let's get
- 5:54Speaker 2: into it. This is gonna be extremely AW centric because
- 5:58Speaker 2: this is their WrestleMania and we're gonna be focusing a
- 6:01Speaker 2: lot on AW and all In this Sunday from Wembley
- 6:06Speaker 2: in London, England. And I'll start with obviously a nod
- 6:11Speaker 2: to we here, Doctor Trey. Does AAW all in have
- 6:14Speaker 2: a WrestleMania like feel to it? As we are days
- 6:17Speaker 2: away from the event taking place this Sunday, I.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Would say card wise and bringing out their star power. Yes,
- 6:26Speaker 3: maybe not promotional wise, like it's not I mean, I mean,
- 6:33Speaker 3: obviously they're not on ww's level for promotions and marketing
- 6:36Speaker 3: and stuff like that. But if you're looking at the
- 6:38Speaker 3: card and looking at the way things are laid out
- 6:41Speaker 3: and the way ticket sales are going, it does have
- 6:44Speaker 3: the WrestleMania vibe. I just I mean, you're not seeing
- 6:47Speaker 3: all of the AW guys on all of the talk
- 6:52Speaker 3: shows and media outlets and things like that as much
- 6:54Speaker 3: as you do see for WWE. But you know, for
- 6:57Speaker 3: a five year old company, it's a pretty solid layout
- 7:02Speaker 3: for their version of Wrestlemanidia Man.
- 7:04Speaker 2: That's a really great point you made there, because even
- 7:07Speaker 2: when you go back to WrestleMania one, the night before WrestleMania,
- 7:12Speaker 2: Hulk Hogan and Mister t hosted Saturday Night Live in
- 7:16Speaker 2: nineteen eighty five, and that at the time was one
- 7:21Speaker 2: of the biggest shows on television, extremely popular. As years
- 7:26Speaker 2: have gone on and Cancel Culture Rages on SNL isn't
- 7:31Speaker 2: as good as it used to be, which is a
- 7:32Speaker 2: show in itself. A whole nother day when Doctor Trey
- 7:35Speaker 2: and I do a non SRTU podcast, but it was
- 7:39Speaker 2: a big, big deal that w was doing that. And
- 7:42Speaker 2: I think that's a fantastic point because as far as
- 7:44Speaker 2: I know, I know they're making rounds in radio and podcasts.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I've seen that, but I haven't seen aw Land on
- 7:50Speaker 2: say ESPN. I haven't seen them land on major news
- 7:54Speaker 2: outlets promoting the show, and they're not. That is the
- 7:59Speaker 2: one thing that's lacking. The wrestling side is certainly there.
- 8:02Speaker 2: The card, the build has felt like the most Okay,
- 8:06Speaker 2: this is their biggest show of the year than any
- 8:09Speaker 2: other card they've done, but the marketing and promotion is
- 8:14Speaker 2: definitely not there, and I think that's a fantastic point,
- 8:17Speaker 2: doctor Try. That is the part that's probably missing from
- 8:20Speaker 2: making it a WrestleMania like feel, which is kind of
- 8:23Speaker 2: concerning because does AW ever reach that point where they
- 8:27Speaker 2: could reach those major news outlets and promote this show
- 8:30Speaker 2: in the future like we does WrestleMania.
- 8:34Speaker 3: I think I would put this point, like I was
- 8:37Speaker 3: thinking about it as you were answering that. I'm like,
- 8:39Speaker 3: you know, with with Tony and Chad, Conn's backing, like
- 8:43Speaker 3: they have the connections in media to get their guys
- 8:47Speaker 3: out there, and it may be something they're just they overlook.
- 8:51Speaker 3: I mean, it is one of those things where, like
- 8:53Speaker 3: you know, they've always tried to distinguish themselves as you know,
- 8:56Speaker 3: the opposite of ww either antiwwe like the the wrestling fans.
- 9:01Speaker 3: You know, it's where wrestlers go to wrestle type promotion.
- 9:05Speaker 3: But you always need to grow your product and I'm
- 9:09Speaker 3: kind of even simple stuff like getting on ESPN or
- 9:13Speaker 3: even the NFL network. When your dad owns an NFL team,
- 9:17Speaker 3: you should be able to get somebody on the network
- 9:21Speaker 3: to promote the show or even the tie ins to
- 9:23Speaker 3: the stuff with the soccer team in London and things
- 9:26Speaker 3: like that, like they have the ability to do it.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I just think it may be something they're overlooking right now,
- 9:32Speaker 3: just kind of relying on word of mouth and die
- 9:36Speaker 3: hard wrestling fans. But once again, there's no real celebrity
- 9:39Speaker 3: tie ins to this one a la WrestleMania. There's it's
- 9:42Speaker 3: not out there in pop culture. It's not out there
- 9:45Speaker 3: and you know, normal media where for everybody to see it.
- 9:48Speaker 3: So I think it's just an opportunity that they're either
- 9:51Speaker 3: overlooking or just missing out on right now.
- 9:54Speaker 2: So just to play devil advocate in that point, so
- 9:57Speaker 2: you're you know, you're bringing up grape ones. There there's
- 9:59Speaker 2: no worts entertainment entertainment value to it that we typically
- 10:02Speaker 2: see with w the pomp and circumstance and aw markets
- 10:06Speaker 2: itself as the wrestling promotion. Does that fit their ideology
- 10:12Speaker 2: on how they should be presenting themselves as a company
- 10:15Speaker 2: or is it a missed opportunity that they should be
- 10:18Speaker 2: taking advantage of.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I think it's a little both. I think that they
- 10:22Speaker 3: I mean, one thing we can say about AEW Jeff
- 10:24Speaker 3: is they're pretty stubborn at times. They are who they are,
- 10:28Speaker 3: they lean into what they do. And those guys that
- 10:32Speaker 3: are fervent in their belief about pro wrestling being pro wrestling,
- 10:35Speaker 3: you know, they kind of run that place. I mean,
- 10:37Speaker 3: you do have the Chris Jericho's of the world and
- 10:39Speaker 3: things like that that are you know, multifaceted and have
- 10:43Speaker 3: been in a variety of different entertainment venues. But one
- 10:48Speaker 3: of my things about AAW has always been like, if
- 10:50Speaker 3: you're not growing the product, you're getting stale and you're plateauing.
- 10:55Speaker 3: And for as much as Dieheart wrestling fans love so
- 10:59Speaker 3: strictly just use him as an example, why do you
- 11:02Speaker 3: not have Swerve out there in the media having people
- 11:05Speaker 3: take notice of it. It's your main event. Have people
- 11:08Speaker 3: find out who Swerve Strickland is. You know, you have
- 11:13Speaker 3: the MJF will Ospray match is going to be, you know,
- 11:16Speaker 3: one of the was talked about matches of the year.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Neither guys out doing media and these are the your
- 11:22Speaker 3: your building blocks for who your company is going to
- 11:25Speaker 3: be in five to ten years. They need to become
- 11:28Speaker 3: more household names. I mean, most fans know who you know.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Most people you know, they might have heard John Moxley.
- 11:32Speaker 3: They they you know, Chris Jericho, you know, even conservative
- 11:36Speaker 3: fans like know who O'Brian Danielson in. But your building
- 11:40Speaker 3: blocks your Darby's or Jack Perry's. The guys that your
- 11:42Speaker 3: your pillars, your foundations, your swerves. Those guys need to
- 11:46Speaker 3: be out there making the rounds right now to draw
- 11:48Speaker 3: in some new fans, some casual fans, just to take
- 11:52Speaker 3: notice of it. Be like, man, I really like the
- 11:53Speaker 3: way this guy was talking, or I really what this
- 11:55Speaker 3: guy said, or I really like this guy's swag or
- 11:57Speaker 3: whatever it is. You know, get those fans to buy
- 12:02Speaker 3: the paper even check it all out.
- 12:04Speaker 2: The last thing that I'll mention here, Doctor Trey, in
- 12:06Speaker 2: regards to this comparison of is it the WrestleMania of
- 12:11Speaker 2: aw wrestlemanna like feel to it? Is the fans perspective
- 12:14Speaker 2: going into WrestleMania. Personally speaking, I get really really hyped
- 12:17Speaker 2: for WrestleMania. It's it's the similar excitement that you feel,
- 12:21Speaker 2: as you know, heading into the Super Bowl and watching
- 12:24Speaker 2: the gameplay out. I feel like I was actually really
- 12:27Speaker 2: hyped for SummerSlam this year, which is very very rare.
- 12:30Speaker 2: It's it's rare that outside of WrestleMania, I get hyped
- 12:33Speaker 2: for shows. I'm excited for aw all in this weekend,
- 12:37Speaker 2: but I'm not hyped to the degree that it would
- 12:39Speaker 2: be for a WrestleMania Like last year. I think I
- 12:42Speaker 2: was more hyped because I was super excited that aw
- 12:45Speaker 2: was going to have over eighty thousand fans for a
- 12:48Speaker 2: promotion at the time that was forty years old, have
- 12:50Speaker 2: a major show for the first show in London, England.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I was really hyped for that. But outside of the
- 12:56Speaker 2: excitement that I have for the card, it's I don't
- 12:58Speaker 2: have that feel to it. So as a fan, do
- 13:02Speaker 2: you feel like it's a WrestleMania like promotion or event
- 13:09Speaker 2: this upcoming Sunday.
- 13:10Speaker 3: I mean, like, like I said, Earl, like based on
- 13:13Speaker 3: the card, I would say yeah, but some of the
- 13:17Speaker 3: things around it, like Okay, we're in Wembley Stadium again,
- 13:21Speaker 3: you know at this point, now this is the fourth
- 13:25Speaker 3: European pay per view event in the last year, so
- 13:29Speaker 3: it's kind of like, Okay, that's a little different. You know,
- 13:32Speaker 3: it's not the same as it was. It doesn't have
- 13:35Speaker 3: the newness has kind of worn off of it. Now
- 13:38Speaker 3: we're kind of like, okay, we're you know, it's not rehashed,
- 13:40Speaker 3: but it's you know, if WrestleMania did two in a
- 13:43Speaker 3: row from Vegas, you know, it's kind of like, oh well,
- 13:46Speaker 3: it's it's not anything different. We kind of saw this
- 13:50Speaker 3: and then once again like it just doesn't have the
- 13:53Speaker 3: hype factor in it as I mean, we were all
- 13:56Speaker 3: excited even though you and I sat here three months
- 13:59Speaker 3: before so Mania going. You know, Cody's gonna beat Roman.
- 14:02Speaker 3: You know, we we all kind of knew how that
- 14:04Speaker 3: was gonna play out. It still had, you know, the
- 14:07Speaker 3: wow factor to it. It's still had that you still
- 14:10Speaker 3: got excited about it. Like I'm excited for swerving Brian
- 14:13Speaker 3: Yanson because I don't really know how it's gonna go
- 14:15Speaker 3: and how it's gonna play out. But it just doesn't
- 14:19Speaker 3: have that umph to it like Cody and Roman had,
- 14:23Speaker 3: or even you know, Drew and you know, Drew and
- 14:25Speaker 3: Punk or anything else you know that we saw going
- 14:27Speaker 3: on to WrestleMania season, even though Drew and Punk did
- 14:29Speaker 3: in wrestle But it just doesn't have that Oh I
- 14:34Speaker 3: guess I'm trying to figure out the right word for
- 14:36Speaker 3: it just doesn't have that extra energy or hype that
- 14:40Speaker 3: a WrestleMania does. It's a fantastic card laid out, but
- 14:44Speaker 3: it just doesn't have that wow factor leaning into it
- 14:47Speaker 3: like a WrestleMania does.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Are you excited for this Sunday, I'm.
- 14:51Speaker 3: I'm pretty excited for it. Like I said, I think
- 14:54Speaker 3: like the one thing I'm missing is just that we
- 14:58Speaker 3: don't have like Wrestleman has got. I also gotten known
- 15:00Speaker 3: for having surprise appearances from either legends or people from
- 15:03Speaker 3: the past or things like that, and I don't feel
- 15:05Speaker 3: like we're going to see that. So it's like, I
- 15:09Speaker 3: maybe it's a little bit they're lacking some of the
- 15:11Speaker 3: nostalgia that you and I love in WrestleMania's true like it,
- 15:14Speaker 3: it just doesn't have that maybe layers to it that
- 15:18Speaker 3: Mania does.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I think what would help is and I feel like
- 15:22Speaker 2: I've seen this in like other marketing that they've done
- 15:24Speaker 2: when it comes to promoting the show, and I actually
- 15:26Speaker 2: think it was more in line with promoting All In
- 15:30Speaker 2: in Arlington, Texas next year is in print. I feel
- 15:34Speaker 2: like I've read recently like this is our biggest show
- 15:36Speaker 2: of the year. I would have loved that hyped so
- 15:39Speaker 2: much more on aw Television, on Dynamite Rampage and collision,
- 15:43Speaker 2: like this is our biggest show of the year, the
- 15:45Speaker 2: biggest match in AW history. And I mean there's times
- 15:49Speaker 2: with WWE's promotion, like the biggest WrestleMania Main event of
- 15:52Speaker 2: all time with Lesner and Roman Reigns that you kind
- 15:54Speaker 2: of scoff at it, or the greatest wrestling match of
- 15:56Speaker 2: all time between Orton and Edge and you scoff at it.
- 15:59Speaker 2: But nonetheless it's like your eyeballs go to it and
- 16:01Speaker 2: you get excited and they win you over. That way,
- 16:04Speaker 2: that is something I would have liked AW to do
- 16:06Speaker 2: is market this show as the biggest show of the year.
- 16:10Speaker 2: And I think maybe in aw's mind they don't want
- 16:12Speaker 2: to do that because they don't want to belittle all
- 16:14Speaker 2: their other shows. And when people are like going out
- 16:16Speaker 2: there to buy tickets, but you know, you're putting it
- 16:18Speaker 2: in Wembley, You're putting it in Global Live Stadium next
- 16:21Speaker 2: year where the Texas Rangers play. Over fifty plus thousand
- 16:25Speaker 2: will be in attendance or close to in Wembley this Sunday.
- 16:28Speaker 2: It could be similar attendance in Arlington, Texas next year.
- 16:33Speaker 2: It make it your big show, and again, I think
- 16:37Speaker 2: that's some things that they're missing out, but it's building
- 16:40Speaker 2: that way. It's funny because this is something doctor Trey
- 16:42Speaker 2: and I have been talking about forever. When it came
- 16:44Speaker 2: to AW launching, was you know, what is their Wrestlemanian
- 16:47Speaker 2: And we often debated it. It was, well, maybe it's
- 16:49Speaker 2: double or nothing, maybe it's all out. I sit here today,
- 16:54Speaker 2: Doctor Trey and I say, aw all in is their
- 16:57Speaker 2: WrestleMania based on the things that they've been doing the
- 16:59Speaker 2: last couple year. I don't necessarily know if if you
- 17:02Speaker 2: fully agree with that yet.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean to to market it for Wembley
- 17:08Speaker 3: Stadium last year, this year and then already hyping up,
- 17:10Speaker 3: you know, for Globe Life. I think they kind of
- 17:13Speaker 3: have settled on all In being there WrestleMania and you
- 17:17Speaker 3: know that, but they still need to distinguish it from
- 17:20Speaker 3: everything else. And this is something we talked about last
- 17:22Speaker 3: year and this year they did kind of push all
- 17:25Speaker 3: out back a little bit. But last year we had
- 17:28Speaker 3: all in and then all out right after. You know,
- 17:32Speaker 3: WrestleMania might have backlash right after it, but it's not
- 17:36Speaker 3: a week or two weeks later. It's still on the
- 17:39Speaker 3: normal cycle. You know. One of the things that wa
- 17:43Speaker 3: does that is you know, you know we talked about
- 17:46Speaker 3: the road to WrestleMania. We as soon as the Rumble hits,
- 17:50Speaker 3: the WrestleMania sign is out, and even on the pay
- 17:53Speaker 3: per views leading into Mania, the WrestleMania sign is out there.
- 17:57Speaker 3: It does make it feel like from Rumble to Mania,
- 18:01Speaker 3: it's like the playoffs in sports, like you have to
- 18:04Speaker 3: get through this to get to WrestleMania. I think that's
- 18:07Speaker 3: one thing that AAW hasn't done. And you're absolutely right,
- 18:10Speaker 3: like part of it was for the first few years,
- 18:13Speaker 3: I don't think they knew what their WrestleMania type event was.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I think now they have settled on all In being it.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Just maybe next year we start seeing more of that
- 18:23Speaker 3: branding like you know, the road to all In or
- 18:25Speaker 3: the Path to all In or whatever. You know, Moniker,
- 18:28Speaker 3: they give it now, you've settled on it. Now, let's
- 18:31Speaker 3: kind of line it all up so that way people know, Hey,
- 18:35Speaker 3: we're trying to get to all In because that's our
- 18:38Speaker 3: big event, that's the one that the drive everybody to it,
- 18:40Speaker 3: that's the one we want everybody focused on.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they've done some really they've done a
- 18:44Speaker 2: good job with taking those steps. I like that they
- 18:46Speaker 2: had the owen Hart Tournament as the winner of each
- 18:48Speaker 2: the male and female would would main event a title
- 18:52Speaker 2: match at all In. I hope they do that again
- 18:56Speaker 2: next year. I like the bill that they've done with
- 18:58Speaker 2: all In twenty twenty five and only to Texas, like
- 19:00Speaker 2: this is our biggest show of the year. And I
- 19:02Speaker 2: agree with you. I think that they need to start
- 19:04Speaker 2: having people cut promos. That's like I want to main
- 19:06Speaker 2: event all In. They need people to start hyping up
- 19:08Speaker 2: that they're on a quest to main event all In.
- 19:12Speaker 2: That's what makes it a big deal. That there's the
- 19:15Speaker 2: reason why the Royal Rumble is the way it is,
- 19:17Speaker 2: and everybody in WWE their passion and then their drive
- 19:21Speaker 2: is the main event WrestleMania one day, and that's what
- 19:23Speaker 2: we need to see with all In. And I think
- 19:25Speaker 2: they're taking the right steps. It's not there yet, but
- 19:27Speaker 2: it's not like this stagnant place. I do believe that
- 19:31Speaker 2: they're taking the right steps and making it a big deal,
- 19:34Speaker 2: their biggest show of the year and their equivalent to WrestleMania.
- 19:37Speaker 2: So really looking forward to the Son of the Card
- 19:39Speaker 2: is very strong. The build has been very strong. We
- 19:41Speaker 2: will preview and predict the entire card later on in
- 19:44Speaker 2: the show. Keeping with all of the wrestling, obviously, the
- 19:48Speaker 2: big thing right now is in regards to their television
- 19:50Speaker 2: deal with Warner Brothers Discovery. Their exclusive negotiating window has
- 19:55Speaker 2: since expired, so AW can theoretically be negotiating with anybody,
- 19:59Speaker 2: any channel, any network, anyone out there for the rights
- 20:03Speaker 2: to all of their television content. The most recent update
- 20:07Speaker 2: comes to us from fight Full Select reporting as followed
- 20:10Speaker 2: saying WBD sources of claim that WBD recently made another
- 20:14Speaker 2: offer that is in aw's hands. Those close to the
- 20:16Speaker 2: situation claim that previous officers were a quote at least
- 20:19Speaker 2: double aw's current deal end quote. This is also coming
- 20:23Speaker 2: off I believe a day ago Tony Kah did an
- 20:27Speaker 2: interview with Barstool Sports wrestling podcast called Wrestling with Brandon Walker,
- 20:32Speaker 2: and he was wearing a HBO Max or Max whatever
- 20:35Speaker 2: they call it now hat throughout the entire interview, it
- 20:38Speaker 2: would appear to me that AW does not want to
- 20:40Speaker 2: go anywhere else. Warner Brothers Discovery does not want them
- 20:43Speaker 2: to go anywhere else, and it would not shock me
- 20:46Speaker 2: Doctor Trey that if there is a major announcement during
- 20:49Speaker 2: AW all in where it is announced that AW has
- 20:52Speaker 2: re upped with Warner Brothers Discovery for the next five years.
- 20:55Speaker 2: And obviously the money value will come out through the
- 20:59Speaker 2: various news outlets, but it would not shock me here
- 21:02Speaker 2: in the next week or two we get an announcement
- 21:04Speaker 2: to AW and Warner Brothers Discovery have re upped. And
- 21:07Speaker 2: like we said about a month ago when we were
- 21:09Speaker 2: originally talking about this and negotiad she negotiated window coming
- 21:13Speaker 2: to an end, and some rumblings of Warner Brothers Discovery
- 21:16Speaker 2: maybe going in different directions with the NBA. We were
- 21:19Speaker 2: ruining this on. We were cheering this on. Warner Brothers
- 21:21Speaker 2: Discovery has a huge footprint and we need the number
- 21:25Speaker 2: two promotion in the United States to remain on a
- 21:28Speaker 2: really strong network. So this is a great thing for
- 21:30Speaker 2: professional wrestlings fans. Doctor Trey, how do you interpret this
- 21:35Speaker 2: latest news in regards to AW and their discussions were
- 21:38Speaker 2: Warner Brothers Discovery.
- 21:40Speaker 3: No, I think it's a it's a great move on
- 21:42Speaker 3: both parties fronts. I think they're both parties want to
- 21:45Speaker 3: make get a deal done. Warner Bros. Are of course
- 21:47Speaker 3: making that, you know, making that offer right before the
- 21:50Speaker 3: window expired, and then you know, AW kind of pushing
- 21:54Speaker 3: it off because that gives them a little bit of
- 21:55Speaker 3: a leverage to kind of tweak it a little bit
- 21:57Speaker 3: they want to, but neither party really he wants to
- 22:00Speaker 3: go anywhere. I mean, if you look at the numbers,
- 22:03Speaker 3: like aw's one of the highest rate of programs that
- 22:06Speaker 3: you know, WBD has out there. If they're making offers
- 22:12Speaker 3: that are quote quote you know double the last deal,
- 22:15Speaker 3: that shows that there's growth in the company and believability
- 22:18Speaker 3: in the company. So I think it's a good move
- 22:21Speaker 3: on both parts. And I think Tony con SamArt just
- 22:23Speaker 3: trying to you know, play you know, hold off on
- 22:26Speaker 3: the announcement to all in Weekend because once again, that
- 22:28Speaker 3: would be just more you know, media coverage on this
- 22:33Speaker 3: as well. If you're like, damn, they got five years
- 22:36Speaker 3: and three hundred and fifty million or some whatever crazy
- 22:39Speaker 3: number it is, people are gonna taking notice of that.
- 22:41Speaker 3: So and it's good for other wrestling companies too. You
- 22:44Speaker 3: look at the MLW's of the world, those other companies
- 22:47Speaker 3: that are the impact wrestling of the world. If AW
- 22:50Speaker 3: is getting this kind of money, that shows other networks
- 22:53Speaker 3: that's a viable product to put on their network to
- 22:56Speaker 3: draw more viewers in and that can help out everybody
- 22:59Speaker 3: else below AW as well.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Yeah, we need AW to remain on a strong network.
- 23:04Speaker 2: So I have a feeling that gets announced this this
- 23:07Speaker 2: Sunday Doctor Track. I feel like something's in the work here.
- 23:10Speaker 2: I don't think Tony Kom puts on a MAX hat
- 23:12Speaker 2: during an interview for no reason.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it would be really really bad negotiating with, you know,
- 23:18Speaker 3: some other entity if you're wearing the competitions. It's like
- 23:22Speaker 3: the college kid trying to sign his letter of an
- 23:24Speaker 3: tent while wearing another college's hat. You know, you just
- 23:27Speaker 3: don't do that. And it's you don't take your wife
- 23:29Speaker 3: to dinner start staring at other women, you know, that's
- 23:32Speaker 3: kind of that would be kind of the thing. It
- 23:33Speaker 3: is like, I'm wearing the MAX hat, but I'm really
- 23:36Speaker 3: really eyeballing how good ESPN looks right now.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. It's Yeah, the news comes out that they've
- 23:42Speaker 2: signed with yeah another network, Home and Garden probably now,
- 23:48Speaker 2: and he was wearing a MAX act just to pay
- 23:49Speaker 2: tribute to them. That would be very weird. Over the
- 23:53Speaker 2: last couple of weeks, months, even years that are the
- 23:57Speaker 2: young Bucks are a very hotly discussed topic amongst wrestling fans.
- 24:02Speaker 2: You're either a Young Bucks fan or I feel like
- 24:06Speaker 2: a Young Bucks hater. I'm in the middle when it
- 24:09Speaker 2: comes to the Young Bucks, so I guess I'm the
- 24:10Speaker 2: anomaly in this entire thing. I feel like you either
- 24:13Speaker 2: ride with them pretty hard or you dislike them pretty hard,
- 24:15Speaker 2: especially basically what happened two years ago at Brawl Out
- 24:19Speaker 2: in Chicago Noise and there's been a lot of discussion
- 24:23Speaker 2: lately in regards to their contract. They have a, according
- 24:26Speaker 2: to reports, a similar deal like brack Lesner has where
- 24:30Speaker 2: they work a limited amount of dates, and aw was
- 24:33Speaker 2: keeping them off television for a period of time so
- 24:35Speaker 2: that they can keep those dates for the rest of
- 24:37Speaker 2: the year. I think Meltzer had a report out there
- 24:40Speaker 2: there or Alvarez had a report out there that they
- 24:42Speaker 2: would be basically wrestling every week or on the show
- 24:45Speaker 2: every week for the rest of this year, which doesn't
- 24:47Speaker 2: sound like a Lessner deal to me. Most recently, they
- 24:52Speaker 2: defended the tag team titles against the Acclaim on last
- 24:54Speaker 2: week's Dynamite, and that was the first time they defended
- 24:57Speaker 2: the titles since they won the championship. It was actually
- 24:59Speaker 2: the first time the AW tag team titles were defended
- 25:01Speaker 2: since Revolution in Sting's retirement match, which is just wrong
- 25:05Speaker 2: and bizarre, especially for a company that prided itself on
- 25:08Speaker 2: having a strong tag team division. Nonetheless, I saw an
- 25:11Speaker 2: interview with MGF recently where he said that fans should
- 25:15Speaker 2: appreciate the Young Bucks more, that if it wasn't for
- 25:17Speaker 2: the Young Bucks and obviously a cast of other characters,
- 25:20Speaker 2: that there would be no AW, that there would no
- 25:22Speaker 2: be alternative. That wrestlers today want to be making the
- 25:25Speaker 2: money that they are, that the business want to be
- 25:27Speaker 2: as strong as they are, and that got me wondering.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Dutch trailer, I was like, all right, we're gonna be
- 25:31Speaker 2: headed into an AW all in podcast. We're gonna be
- 25:34Speaker 2: talking about AW for the entire show. With everything that
- 25:38Speaker 2: we've heard in the New Grapevine, the news we see
- 25:40Speaker 2: on the screen, their impact and professional wrestling. Where do
- 25:44Speaker 2: you stand when it comes to the appreciation level for
- 25:48Speaker 2: both Nick and Match Acts and the Young Bucks.
- 25:50Speaker 3: It's an interesting question. I've never really thought about it
- 25:53Speaker 3: until I saw THEMJF comments because I'm kind of with you,
- 26:00Speaker 3: kind of always been neutral on the Young Bucks, Like
- 26:03Speaker 3: because to me while when they first got on the scene,
- 26:06Speaker 3: I was like, Oh, they're kind of a Hardy Boys knockoff,
- 26:09Speaker 3: and then it was kind of like, Oh, they're They're cute,
- 26:12Speaker 3: they do some cool things. They do a lot of
- 26:14Speaker 3: things I dislike, but there's a lot of things I
- 26:17Speaker 3: do like about them. So I guess I'm with you.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Like I guess I'm an anomaly. I land kind of
- 26:21Speaker 3: in the middle of them. I will say that, you know,
- 26:25Speaker 3: for the younger tag teams coming up on the scene,
- 26:29Speaker 3: the young Bucks are a huge influence on them, so
- 26:31Speaker 3: I you know, and without them and Kenny and and
- 26:35Speaker 3: Hangman and Cody, we probably don't have an aw right now.
- 26:39Speaker 3: So like, I appreciate their contributions to the world of
- 26:44Speaker 3: professional wrestling, even though some of the contributions aren't really
- 26:48Speaker 3: my cup of tea. But for the most part, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 3: I don't think you know a lot of the wrestlers
- 26:54Speaker 3: that are out there in their early twenties, they're a
- 26:58Speaker 3: huge The Bucks are a huge influence on the who
- 27:00Speaker 3: they are as performers. So I got to give them
- 27:02Speaker 3: a lot of credit for that, for influencing a young
- 27:05Speaker 3: generation of wrestling talent.
- 27:07Speaker 2: So I appreciate them. I appreciate everything that they've done
- 27:11Speaker 2: for professional wrestling. I completely agree with them JF. If
- 27:14Speaker 2: it wasn't for them and the rest of the elite,
- 27:15Speaker 2: there would be no AW, there would no be all,
- 27:17Speaker 2: there would be no alternative. I don't think professional wrestling
- 27:20Speaker 2: would have been as hot as it is right now
- 27:22Speaker 2: if there was no AW pushing we to be better
- 27:25Speaker 2: and make some very important creative changes and the way
- 27:29Speaker 2: that they handle their product. So I do feel like
- 27:32Speaker 2: that they've revolutionized the business, and I think that they
- 27:35Speaker 2: know what is best for the business to a degree.
- 27:39Speaker 2: This is the part where the appreciation level for the
- 27:44Speaker 2: young bucks kind of gets a bit murky. So they
- 27:47Speaker 2: understand that we need a legit number two, that we
- 27:49Speaker 2: need a legit alternative and professional wrestling. However, when you
- 27:53Speaker 2: go back to brawl Out two years ago and that
- 27:56Speaker 2: situation takes place and it's all over the internets, highly discussed,
- 28:01Speaker 2: people are suspended, people are injured, and it puts a
- 28:07Speaker 2: spotlight on AAW in both the good and a bad sense.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I think more of a good sense because it's like,
- 28:13Speaker 2: oh man, I want to see what they do next now,
- 28:16Speaker 2: And I thought the entire way that AW handled that
- 28:18Speaker 2: situation from a wrestling perspective was incredibly poor. How once
- 28:23Speaker 2: cmpunk came back to the company that they did not
- 28:27Speaker 2: capitalize on the real life tension will forever irk me
- 28:32Speaker 2: in the way that WWE botched the Invasion angle in
- 28:34Speaker 2: two thousand and one. The best type of storyline feud
- 28:42Speaker 2: care for a match is when there's a little bit
- 28:45Speaker 2: of a gray area of whether or not are they
- 28:46Speaker 2: telling the truth? Do they really not like one another
- 28:48Speaker 2: or do they like one another? And to me, to
- 28:52Speaker 2: have that there would have made so much money for
- 28:55Speaker 2: the company capitalized on and it would have been what
- 28:58Speaker 2: is quote best for business. It's funny because two years later,
- 29:03Speaker 2: one of the best feuds, if not the best feud
- 29:05Speaker 2: in professional wrestling, is exactly what we were looking for
- 29:09Speaker 2: with the Elite and seem Punk and it involves c
- 29:12Speaker 2: and Punk and Drew McIntyre. There is reportedly in what
- 29:16Speaker 2: Drew McIntyre is saying in interviews and who knows if
- 29:18Speaker 2: this is kfab or not if it's legititer storyline legit
- 29:22Speaker 2: beef and hatred between the both of them, and it
- 29:25Speaker 2: seems like it's more obviously on Drew McIntyre's part rather
- 29:28Speaker 2: than CM Punk's part. I don't think Punk gives two shits.
- 29:31Speaker 2: But those two guys, including Seth Wrong's I'll throw him
- 29:34Speaker 2: in there as well, can put away personal animosity and
- 29:39Speaker 2: dislike and disdain that we believe on the outside looking in,
- 29:42Speaker 2: and that's a huge asterisk in this entire thing. Believe
- 29:46Speaker 2: that exists and have it portray it out on the
- 29:49Speaker 2: screen makes people so much more excited and intrigued to
- 29:52Speaker 2: take a look at it that way. And to me,
- 29:55Speaker 2: I think the biggest hit in the Young Bucks career
- 29:58Speaker 2: is obviously aw All in twenty eighteen, excuse me, twenty
- 30:03Speaker 2: eighteen running with that and the beginning of the birth
- 30:05Speaker 2: of aw The biggest miss in their career will forever
- 30:09Speaker 2: be not capitalized on what took place of Brawl out
- 30:11Speaker 2: back in twenty twenty two. So while I appreciate them,
- 30:16Speaker 2: and I've always appreciated them, there are parts of me
- 30:19Speaker 2: that it's like, what's with these guys? Because were according
- 30:24Speaker 2: to what I see, Punk wanted to do business. The
- 30:26Speaker 2: elite did not want to do business. So it's like,
- 30:29Speaker 2: m there's a little bit of smoke, there's a little
- 30:32Speaker 2: bit of fire. You hear out there. You either ride
- 30:34Speaker 2: really hard with the Young Bucks behind the scenes or
- 30:37Speaker 2: you don't ride very hard with the Young Bucks behind
- 30:40Speaker 2: the scenes as well. So they are very similar to
- 30:43Speaker 2: seeing Punk a very intriguing element in professional wrestling Doctor Trey.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Oh wait, I mean, I mean probably the most polarizing
- 30:55Speaker 3: tag team of all time. It's weird right now we're
- 31:01Speaker 3: here to have all in and we're having yet I
- 31:03Speaker 3: don't want to say another Bucks FTR match because the
- 31:07Speaker 3: acclaim was sprinkled into it. But the FTR was a
- 31:10Speaker 3: big part of all that stuff. When you know, Dynamite
- 31:14Speaker 3: and Collision were kind of split, and you know, you
- 31:19Speaker 3: had the Punk side and you had the Elite side,
- 31:21Speaker 3: and and we were sitting here going why can't they
- 31:24Speaker 3: put this together? And we get that six man tag
- 31:26Speaker 3: with Omega and the Bucks against Punk and FTR. But
- 31:29Speaker 3: yet here we are where we're having FTR in the Bucks,
- 31:32Speaker 3: and it's it is a huge myss that we never
- 31:34Speaker 3: got that. I mean, to me, it's it's reminiscent also
- 31:38Speaker 3: the fact that like we never got Becky Lynch and
- 31:40Speaker 3: Ronda Rousey won on one. You couldn't tell if there
- 31:44Speaker 3: was real life animosity or not, like it was that
- 31:47Speaker 3: gray area, Like is there a little bit of jealousy
- 31:50Speaker 3: on Becky's part or Ronda's part, Like the fact that
- 31:53Speaker 3: we never got that match, you know, is right there
- 31:58Speaker 3: with we've never Like I'll tell you that it's below
- 32:02Speaker 3: the fact we never got punk and Omega punk in
- 32:04Speaker 3: the Bucks any kind of combination of that following what
- 32:07Speaker 3: happened through after brawl out, Like it's a huge miss.
- 32:10Speaker 3: But and that's what I kind was saying earlier, like
- 32:13Speaker 3: there are things the Bucks have done that change the
- 32:17Speaker 3: industry for the better, you know, I mean really being
- 32:21Speaker 3: one of the first acts to get their T shirts
- 32:24Speaker 3: into major retailers without having the WW branding behind it
- 32:29Speaker 3: is incredible. Like the way they market it and merchandised
- 32:33Speaker 3: themselves is the blueprint for what all the independent talents
- 32:37Speaker 3: around the world are doing now. But I do feel
- 32:42Speaker 3: like sometimes that they get a little butt hurt and
- 32:46Speaker 3: they hold onto that, and they hold onto the animosity
- 32:50Speaker 3: like a little bit too long, like you said, like
- 32:53Speaker 3: maybe see I'm Punk and Drew McIntyre hate themselves or
- 32:55Speaker 3: hate each other, but I tend to think that they're
- 32:58Speaker 3: able to work. I mean, if you're gonna a damn
- 32:59Speaker 3: sure match. You gotta trust the guy a little bit
- 33:03Speaker 3: not to really physically damage you. Maybe it's a work,
- 33:08Speaker 3: Maybe it's a shoot SETH and Punk, Maybe it's a work.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Maybe shoot. The fact that we knew there was real
- 33:12Speaker 3: life heat between the Bucks and CM Punk and the
- 33:14Speaker 3: Elite and CM Punk and to a degree, anybody who's
- 33:17Speaker 3: associate to see MP Punk and we never got to
- 33:19Speaker 3: see him play out just shows that, Look, they're grown men,
- 33:24Speaker 3: but in this industry at times, you can be a
- 33:27Speaker 3: little childish and not do what's best for business. And that's,
- 33:30Speaker 3: like you said, like that's the biggest miss I think
- 33:33Speaker 3: they've had, because if they had ever had that match
- 33:35Speaker 3: or had some kind of combination of that, that would
- 33:38Speaker 3: have blown the roof off any these other shows that
- 33:42Speaker 3: we've covered over the last five years.
- 33:44Speaker 2: For AW, AW needed that period, They needed that storyline,
- 33:48Speaker 2: The fans wanted it to play out, and they never
- 33:50Speaker 2: capitalized it on a company, and they were think there
- 33:52Speaker 2: was so much animosity, legit animosity that it never played out.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I mean, Bret and Sean were able to do business
- 33:58Speaker 2: and there was a ton of animosity that played out,
- 34:00Speaker 2: and that's what brought so much intriguing to w ninety
- 34:03Speaker 2: six and ninety seven for that specific feud, and it's
- 34:05Speaker 2: like they really couldn't do business. And what's funny is
- 34:08Speaker 2: the only time they actually did business around that whole
- 34:11Speaker 2: Elite Cmpunk storyline, Doctor Trey was the tag team match
- 34:15Speaker 2: at Dynasty to crown the new champions, the ladder match
- 34:18Speaker 2: with FTR and the Young Bucks, and they aired the
- 34:20Speaker 2: footage with Jack Perry, and that brought Jack Perry back
- 34:23Speaker 2: like that was the only time. And that's why that
- 34:25Speaker 2: like left a really bad taste in my mouth because
- 34:27Speaker 2: one airing of that footage was so lame. It made
- 34:29Speaker 2: Jack Perry look like crap. And I still attest to
- 34:31Speaker 2: that one and two and it's like, this is so
- 34:34Speaker 2: lame that because he did an interview with Ariel Hllani,
- 34:37Speaker 2: you know, ripping the company apart, that now you want
- 34:40Speaker 2: to capitalize on a real life situation that could have
- 34:44Speaker 2: made you a ton of money that now everybody just
- 34:46Speaker 2: kind of like rolls their eyes at you that you're
- 34:48Speaker 2: doing this now.
- 34:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and not to mention like you do it right
- 34:53Speaker 3: when you're wrestling. Arguably the other the other greatest tag
- 34:56Speaker 3: team of the world in FTR who are friends with
- 34:58Speaker 3: them punk So then it's like you're just you're thumbing
- 35:01Speaker 3: your nose at some of your employees to spite somebody
- 35:05Speaker 3: who's no longer there. So it is a little The
- 35:08Speaker 3: pettiness at times that the Bucks have is their biggest drawback,
- 35:13Speaker 3: where their mind for wrestling and marketing is their biggest strength.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean to give them credit, there were reportedly
- 35:21Speaker 2: they were saying that they did not want to do
- 35:23Speaker 2: that and thought like a sleeping dog should lie there,
- 35:28Speaker 2: but they still went through with it, and they said
- 35:30Speaker 2: what they did during promos, and obviously there is there's
- 35:33Speaker 2: some real life to it that played out. So the
- 35:36Speaker 2: appreciation level of the un Bucks that's there. I would say,
- 35:39Speaker 2: like I seventy five percent appreciate them, Doctor Trey, and
- 35:41Speaker 2: like twenty five percent, I'm like, yeah, these guys are
- 35:44Speaker 2: are kind of like jackasses.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's about where I'm at. Like I said, like
- 35:49Speaker 3: you and I kind of both land in the middle
- 35:51Speaker 3: when it comes to the Bucks. And but seventy five
- 35:53Speaker 3: percent positive, twenty five percent negative. I think they've done
- 35:56Speaker 3: way more good for the business than they have agreed
- 35:59Speaker 3: bad things.
- 36:00Speaker 2: And I think a lot of people could sit there
- 36:02Speaker 2: on the same level. It's like see them punk as well,
- 36:03Speaker 2: so very polarizing figures. You know, there's always like, man,
- 36:07Speaker 2: I really really like these guys, and that's what I
- 36:09Speaker 2: like with the Young Bucks. But it's that man, they
- 36:11Speaker 2: could be dicks too or miss a lot of business.
- 36:13Speaker 2: And that was Shawn Michaels. That was Shawn Michaels back
- 36:16Speaker 2: back in the day as well. So appreciation level for
- 36:20Speaker 2: the Young Bucks. Feel free to chime in at SRTU
- 36:22Speaker 2: podcast on Twitter or Facebook dot com slash serialto show
- 36:26Speaker 2: excuse me x no no longer Twitter, rip Twitter. Finally,
- 36:30Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, Let's get to our aw all. In preview predictions,
- 36:33Speaker 2: it comes to us this Sunday from Wembley Stadium in London, England.
- 36:36Speaker 2: As you and I record this, there are ten announced matches.
- 36:39Speaker 2: We will see if they will expand that card like
- 36:42Speaker 2: they typically do as time goes on. Let's get to
- 36:44Speaker 2: the pre show match here as Chris Statlander and Stokely
- 36:47Speaker 2: Hathaway take on Willow Knight and Gallant Tomo hero Ege.
- 36:50Speaker 2: The winning team will choose the stipulation of the match
- 36:52Speaker 2: between Night and Gale and Statlander at aw All out.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I like this build for this match because I think
- 36:58Speaker 2: it's hilarious the way that Sookely hath Way is reacting
- 37:01Speaker 2: to this all. Nonetheless, I'm gonna go with Nightingale and
- 37:04Speaker 2: Tomohroe getting the victory, and I just have a feeling
- 37:07Speaker 2: that like Stokely Hathaway is going to be dangling in
- 37:10Speaker 2: a shark cage above the ring or something.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Yeah, it's hard to pick against Nightingale and Ishi when
- 37:16Speaker 3: Stokely's a match, I will say, like, Stokely's one of
- 37:19Speaker 3: my favorite guys to watch. I love Stokely Hathaway and
- 37:21Speaker 3: I used to not like him, but you know, manager
- 37:24Speaker 3: appreciation love. I guess I'm taking Eeshi and Nightingale as well,
- 37:28Speaker 3: just because I do kind of want see Stokely hanging
- 37:31Speaker 3: above the ring or a in a cage somewhere and
- 37:35Speaker 3: just running his mouth the entire time.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Next match here is timeless Tony Store. I'm taking on
- 37:40Speaker 2: the Glamour and Ryan May for the aw Women's World Championship,
- 37:42Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, who do you like in this one?
- 37:44Speaker 3: Man? This one's tricky for me just because, like this
- 37:48Speaker 3: has been one of my favorite bills of a woman's
- 37:51Speaker 3: match in history. I've really enjoyed it adding in Mina
- 37:57Speaker 3: into the mix again here at the end. It has
- 37:59Speaker 3: been made a little interesting as well. That I mean,
- 38:03Speaker 3: but from a I mean a turn standpoint, I mean
- 38:06Speaker 3: Mariah May with that turn that may have been one
- 38:08Speaker 3: of the greatest turns in women's wrestling. I think I'm
- 38:14Speaker 3: gonna take Mariah May. I'm this one's I mean, it's
- 38:17Speaker 3: literally flip of a coin for me, because I can
- 38:20Speaker 3: see Tony having a feud with Mercedes Monet down the road.
- 38:23Speaker 3: But I think I'm gonna take Mariah May and then
- 38:26Speaker 3: making her another main event player in the women's division.
- 38:28Speaker 3: So I'll take Mariah May getting the win.
- 38:31Speaker 2: I like you, I'm taking the glamor Maria May as well.
- 38:33Speaker 2: I think you don't do this build. You don't have
- 38:35Speaker 2: her win the tournament, you don't have this turn if
- 38:37Speaker 2: if your objective is not to make her a star,
- 38:39Speaker 2: and I think it would be a very big missed
- 38:41Speaker 2: opportunity if they don't have her win the championship over
- 38:44Speaker 2: Mariah excuse me, over Tony Storm at all in to
- 38:48Speaker 2: really capitalize and solidify her as a big name, as
- 38:50Speaker 2: a big stars, as someone to keep an eye on
- 38:52Speaker 2: moving forward, So I'm gonna take the glamor of Mariah
- 38:55Speaker 2: May get in the victory and also and win the
- 38:57Speaker 2: aw Women's World Championship. I thought this story line has
- 39:00Speaker 2: been very good the length of it. I thought it
- 39:02Speaker 2: started out once the turn happened, very very strong. I
- 39:05Speaker 2: would say since the turn, it's been a little bit stagnant,
- 39:11Speaker 2: and that's just because that turn was so red hot
- 39:14Speaker 2: and amazing that it kind of overshadowed everything else. I
- 39:17Speaker 2: really was hoping that it would continue to ascend upwards,
- 39:20Speaker 2: and I didn't feel like it went down. I just
- 39:21Speaker 2: feel like it just kind of plateaued and stayed the
- 39:24Speaker 2: same the whole way through. Next match, here is Jack
- 39:27Speaker 2: Perry defending the AWT and T Championship in a coffin
- 39:30Speaker 2: match against Darby Allen. There's been a lot of reports
- 39:33Speaker 2: about Darby Allen right now Doctor Trey that the expectation
- 39:36Speaker 2: he run the Royal Rampage match during Blood and Guts,
- 39:41Speaker 2: so he has a title match at AW Grand Slam
- 39:43Speaker 2: at the end of September. There's a lot of discussion
- 39:46Speaker 2: right now that he is set for an aw World
- 39:48Speaker 2: Championship title run and that could take place as early
- 39:51Speaker 2: as Grand Slam where he wins the championship. I can
- 39:56Speaker 2: see him being AW world champion, I don't see it
- 39:59Speaker 2: right now, and he is undefeated in coffin matches. There's
- 40:02Speaker 2: reports out there that sing maybe making appearance at AW
- 40:05Speaker 2: all In as well. I'm gonna take Darby Allen to
- 40:08Speaker 2: win the T and T Championship.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Doctor try see im. This be one of the few
- 40:13Speaker 3: ones we disagree on. I think I'm gonna take Jack
- 40:15Speaker 3: Perry just because you know they're they're hyping out that
- 40:18Speaker 3: Darby's undefeated in these coffin matches. Darby's getting hyped up
- 40:22Speaker 3: for all time. I just don't think he needs the
- 40:24Speaker 3: T and T title, And I don't think you make
- 40:27Speaker 3: a big deal about Jack Perry redesigning it if you're
- 40:29Speaker 3: gonna take that belt right back off of him. So
- 40:32Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Jack Perry getting to win.
- 40:34Speaker 2: The only reason why I say that, Dot Tray, I
- 40:35Speaker 2: would agree with you if there was no pay per
- 40:37Speaker 2: view in two weeks. I would not be shocked if
- 40:38Speaker 2: this match happens at all out and he drops the
- 40:41Speaker 2: title back to Jack Perry.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it wouldn't surprise me either, but to me,
- 40:46Speaker 3: like once again. You're trying to lift Jack Perry up
- 40:51Speaker 3: even more so let him win in the biggest event
- 40:53Speaker 3: there is.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Next match here is Mercedes Manet defending AWTBS Championship against
- 40:58Speaker 2: Doctor Bird Baker d m D Doctor Trey, who like
- 41:00Speaker 2: this one man there?
- 41:01Speaker 3: Once again, this is a kind of a tricky one
- 41:03Speaker 3: for me. Britt just got suspended. Mercedes maybe not worth
- 41:08Speaker 3: the money they paid her. So I'm kind of like,
- 41:11Speaker 3: I don't know who the lesser of two evils is.
- 41:13Speaker 3: This is like Trump and Harris for me, I don't
- 41:16Speaker 3: know which one is worse. So I think I'm gonna
- 41:21Speaker 3: take I think I'm gonna take Mercedes just because of
- 41:23Speaker 3: the Camil factor and that could be the excuse as
- 41:27Speaker 3: to why Brent loses. So I think I'll take Mercedes
- 41:29Speaker 3: Bonet right now.
- 41:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna take Mercedes Monet as well. And I'm gonna
- 41:32Speaker 2: use the old trick that we've done here in the
- 41:34Speaker 2: history of the Silrito Show, and that was the go
- 41:36Speaker 2: home show on Dynamite. Doctor Burt Baker got the upper
- 41:39Speaker 2: hand on Mercedes Monet. So I do feel like Mercedes
- 41:42Speaker 2: Bone retains the championship with aw all in and remained
- 41:46Speaker 2: the aw TBS champion next match. Here's the Casino Gauntlet
- 41:50Speaker 2: match for a future aw World Championship match. Orange Casside
- 41:53Speaker 2: as the number one spot, so I think he's the
- 41:55Speaker 2: last one in there. Kyle O'Riley, Mark Briscoe, Hangman at
- 41:59Speaker 2: In Paige Evil Know, even though he was taken out
- 42:01Speaker 2: on Dynamite, They've all been announced for the match. I
- 42:03Speaker 2: guess seventeen other people are set to be in the match.
- 42:05Speaker 2: I think it's a twenty two person match. This is
- 42:07Speaker 2: a really fun match, the Casino Gauntlet match, going back
- 42:12Speaker 2: to the Dynamites that they've had this match, so I'm
- 42:14Speaker 2: excited for this one. I think Hangman Adam Page wins
- 42:17Speaker 2: this match Doctor Trey and wins a future aw World
- 42:20Speaker 2: Championship match, which I don't know if it's set for
- 42:23Speaker 2: all out or not, but I'm gonna have Hangman Adam
- 42:25Speaker 2: Page get the victory.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Here is this hedging your bet for the main event.
- 42:29Speaker 2: For all out or the main event for all in? Yeah,
- 42:33Speaker 2: potentially potentially.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Because I'm with you, I'm taking Hangman Page even though
- 42:38Speaker 3: Orange is coming in last, and that you know, typically
- 42:41Speaker 3: for me would be kind of like Orange doesn't lose
- 42:44Speaker 3: very often so, but I still kind of want see
- 42:48Speaker 3: Hangman Page get back into the title picture because I
- 42:50Speaker 3: think this, this new version of him as a world
- 42:54Speaker 3: champion or World Champion contender is a much better version
- 42:57Speaker 3: than the one we had a couple of years ago.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Next match, here is Christ Jericho defending the FTW Championship
- 43:03Speaker 2: against Hook in a last chance match for the FTW Championship.
- 43:06Speaker 2: If Hook loses, he can no lever no longer challenge
- 43:10Speaker 2: for the FTW Championship for as long as Christ Jericho
- 43:13Speaker 2: is champion. Doctor Trey, who do you like in this one?
- 43:16Speaker 1: Uh?
- 43:16Speaker 3: Well, let's see. I think I'm gonna take Hook just
- 43:19Speaker 3: because that's his dad's belt, So I think Tass still
- 43:23Speaker 3: actually has proprietary ownership of that belt. So I'll take
- 43:26Speaker 3: Hook because otherwise Tas may never get his property back.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take Hook as well. I don't think
- 43:33Speaker 2: Jericho goes in this feud with a young star to
- 43:35Speaker 2: put himself over at aw all in and now if
- 43:38Speaker 2: he does win and it doesn't make sense, this clip
- 43:40Speaker 2: of me should be cut and we'll talk about on
- 43:43Speaker 2: next week's show. But I'm gonna take Hook winning back
- 43:46Speaker 2: the FTW Championship as well. Next match here is the
- 43:50Speaker 2: Patriarchy defending the AW World Trios Championship in a four
- 43:53Speaker 2: way London Ladder match against the Bang Bang Gang, House
- 43:55Speaker 2: of Black and POC, Claudio Cassagnoli and Willer Yuda. This
- 44:01Speaker 2: is potentially got to be a show sealer, Doctor Tray,
- 44:04Speaker 2: I'm really hyped for this one. I'm excited to build
- 44:06Speaker 2: for this has been pretty decent. Uh. With that said, Ladders,
- 44:10Speaker 2: Christian Cage, I'm going to take the Patriarchy to retain
- 44:13Speaker 2: the AW World Trios Championship.
- 44:16Speaker 3: That's interesting because I've been torn on this one because
- 44:20Speaker 3: I could also see them losing in him blaming kill
- 44:23Speaker 3: Switch for it because you know, mother Wayne has possession
- 44:26Speaker 3: of the third title. And by the way, is Pac
- 44:31Speaker 3: in the Black Is there still a Blackpool Combat Club?
- 44:33Speaker 3: And if so, is PUC in the BCC.
- 44:36Speaker 2: He is not, He's not in the BCC. They do
- 44:38Speaker 2: still exist. I just we're just I guess we're just
- 44:40Speaker 2: waiting for Max to come.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Back, okay, and then I really want to pick the
- 44:45Speaker 3: Bang Banggang. So just just out of pure joy, I'm
- 44:50Speaker 3: picking the Bang Banggang just because there's still one of
- 44:52Speaker 3: my favorite things to watch in AW even though House
- 44:54Speaker 3: of Black is right below them. So I just because
- 44:58Speaker 3: it's all in it's it's whim and Jay White's in
- 45:01Speaker 3: the match. I'm gonna take the Bang Bang Gang.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Jay White's actually not in the match. It's Juice and
- 45:06Speaker 2: the Guns.
- 45:08Speaker 3: Jay White shows. Damn Still, I'm gonna take the Bang
- 45:11Speaker 3: Bang Gang. Just be different, No, Jay White.
- 45:14Speaker 2: I guess it's supposed to be coming back from injury here,
- 45:16Speaker 2: so hopefully he's back here soon. Next match is the
- 45:19Speaker 2: Young Bucks defend the AW World Tag Team Championship in
- 45:21Speaker 2: a three way match against FTR and The Acclaim Doctor Trey.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Who are you liking this one?
- 45:26Speaker 3: I am taking the Acclaimed just because I think the
- 45:28Speaker 3: Bucks and FTR already established as top tag teams. The
- 45:32Speaker 3: Acclaimed the hottest act in pro wrestling like a year
- 45:36Speaker 3: and a half ago, and then kind of fell off
- 45:39Speaker 3: because of just the way the show's been booked. I
- 45:42Speaker 3: think this is a way to re establish him as
- 45:43Speaker 3: a top act and get the tag titles back on
- 45:45Speaker 3: the scene. So I'm taking the Acclaimed.
- 45:47Speaker 2: See, I thought this was going to be a shocking
- 45:49Speaker 2: mentioned by me, but I'm taking the Acclaimed as well.
- 45:52Speaker 2: I think that the forgotten tag team in this match,
- 45:54Speaker 2: and there's been a lot of focus on the Bucks
- 45:55Speaker 2: in FTR, and this is a good opportunity for them
- 45:57Speaker 2: to slide in and take the titles away from the
- 45:59Speaker 2: Young So I am taking the acclaim to win the
- 46:02Speaker 2: AW World Tag Team Championship again. Then that takes us
- 46:05Speaker 2: to the AW American Championship matches. MJF Defense against will Ospray.
- 46:10Speaker 2: I'm really looking forward to this one. The build has
- 46:12Speaker 2: been really good. I think everybody is thinking it's gonna
- 46:15Speaker 2: be will Ospray in the home country. I'm gonna take
- 46:17Speaker 2: MJF to win and retain, and I think he wins
- 46:20Speaker 2: and retains thanks to Kyle Fletcher and Don Kallus. So
- 46:25Speaker 2: I'm gonna take MJF to win this one.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Doctor Try very interesting. I like that pick I was
- 46:31Speaker 3: playing on taking MJF. Anyway, I like your storytelling with it,
- 46:35Speaker 3: so it is a little sprided. I'm kind of riding
- 46:37Speaker 3: with you on this one. But you know my concern is, now,
- 46:39Speaker 3: that's what that'd be the three losses for Ospray in
- 46:43Speaker 3: like just in a short amount of time. But uh,
- 46:45Speaker 3: I think it makes sense. I think you have ospray
- 46:48Speaker 3: come back and get revenge later on. You got to
- 46:50Speaker 3: build up some more reason, uh more obstacles for the
- 46:54Speaker 3: for the good guy to overcome here. So I'm gonna
- 46:56Speaker 3: take MJF as well.
- 46:59Speaker 2: And that takes us to the main out here title
- 47:00Speaker 2: versus crew match for the aw World Championship Swerve Strickland
- 47:04Speaker 2: defense against Brian Danielson. Who do you like in this one?
- 47:06Speaker 2: Doctor try?
- 47:08Speaker 3: You know, the funny thing was when this whole career
- 47:10Speaker 3: title thing came up, I didn't quite understand it because
- 47:13Speaker 3: you know, if Danielson loses, I mean Swerves the guy
- 47:16Speaker 3: that retired him. I then forgot that Swerves from Washington,
- 47:21Speaker 3: and so is Brian Danielson. So they've had a lot
- 47:23Speaker 3: of they have a lot of history from coming up
- 47:25Speaker 3: in the same area. I'm taking Swerve. I just don't think.
- 47:30Speaker 3: I don't see why you throw this out there. If
- 47:32Speaker 3: if you're gonna have Brian Anson retained, and then from
- 47:35Speaker 3: everything we're reading, like, you know, he's so beat up,
- 47:37Speaker 3: he's he's very limited in the amount of appearances he
- 47:40Speaker 3: can do in the ring. Anyway, I think now is
- 47:42Speaker 3: the time to go ahead and kind of shut it
- 47:44Speaker 3: down for a while and at some point he'll get
- 47:46Speaker 3: back in the ring. I don't care what anybody says.
- 47:48Speaker 3: He's gonna get back to the ring at some point,
- 47:49Speaker 3: but for the time being, it makes sense to make
- 47:52Speaker 3: this move. So I got Swerve retaining the title as well,
- 47:56Speaker 3: or maybe not as well. I don't know. I'm I
- 47:58Speaker 3: have Swerve winning.
- 48:00Speaker 2: This is a really, really tough match to call. This
- 48:02Speaker 2: is a hard one to call, and I've been going
- 48:05Speaker 2: back and forth about this because the interviews that Doctor
- 48:07Speaker 2: Trey's pointing out, the articles that are coming out there
- 48:09Speaker 2: makes you think that Daniel Brian is retiring this Sunday
- 48:13Speaker 2: at Wembley Stadium. That's how he wants to write off
- 48:14Speaker 2: of the Sunset. He is set to have surgery. He
- 48:18Speaker 2: is currently working without a contract with AW but he
- 48:20Speaker 2: insists that he'll be coming back. Prior to all this,
- 48:25Speaker 2: the reports were that Brian was going to come back
- 48:27Speaker 2: on a part time schedule, that he was just retiring
- 48:29Speaker 2: as a full time wrestler, not completely altogether going out
- 48:33Speaker 2: on the way that he wanted to go. I do
- 48:35Speaker 2: believe that Brian Danielson does want to put over young
- 48:39Speaker 2: talent and up and coming talent like Swerve Strickland Swerp.
- 48:42Speaker 2: Strickland is really on an amazing climb over the last
- 48:46Speaker 2: year and a half to two years in AW and
- 48:48Speaker 2: it's been very, very fun to watch. However, the factor
- 48:52Speaker 2: that plays a role iness to me, Doctor Trey is
- 48:54Speaker 2: very similar to how Samo Joe won the championship at
- 48:57Speaker 2: World's End last year over mjf Leave that Tony Kahan
- 49:01Speaker 2: wants to put the AW World Championship one way or
- 49:03Speaker 2: another on Brian Danielson. I don't think that they want
- 49:06Speaker 2: him to retire on Sunday. I think they want him
- 49:09Speaker 2: to work a part time schedule when he can in
- 49:10Speaker 2: twenty twenty five and beyond. I think Brian Danielson wins
- 49:14Speaker 2: the match on Sunday becomes the new AW World Championship Champion.
- 49:19Speaker 2: But I do think he has a short reign with
- 49:21Speaker 2: the title, and I think that Rain potentially ends at
- 49:25Speaker 2: all out with Hangman Adam Paige if that match takes
- 49:29Speaker 2: place and that leads us back in the Swerve in
- 49:30Speaker 2: Hangman Page or he ends up dropping it at Grand
- 49:34Speaker 2: Slam against Darby Allen. I do think it's going to
- 49:37Speaker 2: be a short title. Rain. I don't think that this
- 49:39Speaker 2: is his last wrestling match that we ever see Brian
- 49:41Speaker 2: Danielson wrestle in, because if he is so beat up
- 49:44Speaker 2: as he is, then why are they letting him go
- 49:46Speaker 2: out there to wrestle on Sunday? Why would any doctor
- 49:49Speaker 2: allow that to happen. So I don't discredit that he
- 49:51Speaker 2: is banged up. I don't think he's as banged up
- 49:54Speaker 2: where his life's on the line. And this is a
- 49:57Speaker 2: very tricky situation. So I'm gonna go with Brian Danielson.
- 50:01Speaker 2: And the only reason why I'm going with Brian Danilson
- 50:03Speaker 2: Doctor Trey is once again I think Tony Kahn wants
- 50:05Speaker 2: to put the championship on him. So we are split here.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Swerve Strickland, Doctor Trey has I Brian Danielson, and I'm
- 50:11Speaker 2: really really looking forward to this match on Sunday.
- 50:14Speaker 3: No, I'm really looking forward to too. And everything you
- 50:17Speaker 3: brought up are great point and those are things I
- 50:20Speaker 3: was concidered because I was like, man, it would be
- 50:22Speaker 3: really weird for Brian Danielson to retire and have never
- 50:25Speaker 3: won a title in aw even from going for even
- 50:29Speaker 3: if it's from full time to part time. So it's
- 50:33Speaker 3: a valid reason if you're gonna do it make the switch,
- 50:35Speaker 3: but you know, it's just one of these things. It
- 50:37Speaker 3: was like, I don't know. It is a very This
- 50:40Speaker 3: card has a lot of matches on it, at least
- 50:43Speaker 3: that are basically fifty to fifty tossed ups that you
- 50:46Speaker 3: can see it going either way, which is one thing
- 50:48Speaker 3: you and I love about pro wrestling is when we
- 50:51Speaker 3: don't know what's going to happen, we love it even more. Yeah.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Absolutely, And that's a good thing that AW has done
- 50:56Speaker 2: is unpredictable matches heading into a big event. And we'll
- 50:59Speaker 2: be looking forward AW all in as it takes place
- 51:01Speaker 2: this Sunday, and we will recap and review it for
- 51:03Speaker 2: you all on next week's show on August the twenty ninth.
- 51:07Speaker 2: With that set, let's get a couple plugs and sponsors
- 51:09Speaker 2: out of the way. You can download show every Thursday
- 51:11Speaker 2: or Friday. Really got ridu dot com, wrestle chatingnet on
- 51:14Speaker 2: x and the Stale Ridda Show iTunes feed don't forget
- 51:17Speaker 2: to rate, review and subscribe to help us clim the
- 51:18Speaker 2: charts on iTunes or anywhere else you download the show.
- 51:21Speaker 2: You can follow us individually on x for myself at
- 51:23Speaker 2: SRTU Jeff and for Dot Trey Franklin at The Doctor
- 51:25Speaker 2: Trey and of course don't forget to follow the show
- 51:27Speaker 2: on x at SRTU podcast. With that being said, what's
- 51:30Speaker 2: going on the oneful world of Dot Trey Franklin this week?
- 51:33Speaker 3: Well, like Jeff said, you can follow me on x FKA,
- 51:36Speaker 3: Twitter at the Doctor Trey. You can find me on
- 51:40Speaker 3: Instagram and Facebook, Doctor Tray Franklin. Be sure check out
- 51:44Speaker 3: Rocket City Championship Wrestling. They've had a big shows past Saturday,
- 51:47Speaker 3: Spartan Championship Wrestling. They got a big show coming up
- 51:50Speaker 3: this Saturday, which I'm hoping to be a part of
- 51:53Speaker 3: foot permitting. But most importantly, just get out there and
- 51:56Speaker 3: check out your local independent wrestling scene. Because fifty percent
- 52:01Speaker 3: of aw's roster was on the Independence like less than
- 52:04Speaker 3: five years ago, and then you look at NXT and
- 52:06Speaker 3: a lot of those guys are on the Independence just
- 52:08Speaker 3: three or four years ago. So get out there see
- 52:11Speaker 3: your local guys before they hit the big time, and
- 52:13Speaker 3: forget who you are and refuse to sign your poster
- 52:17Speaker 3: for less than twenty bucks.
- 52:18Speaker 2: So you go so for all the great things that
- 52:20Speaker 2: support SRTU and spread the word about the stuffro of
- 52:22Speaker 2: the show. Enjoy all in this Sunday. Thank you for
- 52:25Speaker 2: making as part of your week and until next week
- 52:28Speaker 2: when we recap and review All in. Get you ready
- 52:30Speaker 2: for NXC No mercy for Doc Troy Franklin. I am
