Transcript
- 0:16Everything is going to hail down here in deactis. Oh yeah, what's up
- 1:04everybody? This is your boy big Bad Vibe with you for another exciting episode
- 1:11of the Lone Gunman Podcast. This is episode two hundred and twenty niner.
- 1:23That's right cracking about baby, let's get it all right. So on this
- 1:29episode, we're gonna try a little something different and if it goes somewhat sideways,
- 1:36then I'll go ahead and apologize now for it. But through the magic
- 1:45of technology, folks, I want to do a reaction podcast to a History
- 1:56Channel show about the assassination in real time as we follow along with it.
- 2:06As you might know if you've ever watched just about any documentary on mainstream television,
- 2:15there's always a catch. There's always some bullshit, there's always something shady
- 2:24that they're trying to put out there. So with that being said, I
- 2:32want to try to do this in real time and call them on their bullshit
- 2:38right away, because with a lot of these shows, and the show in
- 2:42particular we're gonna be talking about here today is what the hell is the show
- 2:46called Hold on So Night, the assassination that shook our country towards court.
- 2:59It was just a shocked It's like everybody to stop and think for a moment
- 3:02about how the world had changed. Police quickly catch the culprit, but many
- 3:07believe there's more to the story. The first question any good theorist asks is
- 3:13who was Kennedy dead? Now we'll explore the top theories surrounding one of America's
- 3:19most shocking events. So he was convinced that Kennedy was killed by enemies high
- 3:24in his own government. He believed that Fidel Castro orchestrated the assassination of John
- 3:30F. Kennedy. Is there a conspiracy behind John F. Kennedy's assassination?
- 3:36And if so, who is really responsible for his debt? Okay, it's
- 3:43History's Greatest Mysteries with your host, Lawrence Fishburne. And you heard a couple
- 3:50of the talking heads in this series, and I will identify them as they
- 3:57pop up here. One of them is definitely Jefferson Morley. The other one,
- 4:02I'm not too sure about who this guy is. But they they love
- 4:11to have podcasters on their show to explain certain events about history. Now,
- 4:20why they didn't get a legitimate Kennedy assassination podcaster, you know, to to
- 4:33come on the show and do this. I don't know because several of these
- 4:38people, after thirty five years of research into the Kennedy assassination, I've never
- 4:44heard of you. And if I've never heard of you, then you haven't
- 4:49done shit and you don't deserve to be on television talking about especially with I'm
- 4:58sure some of the craft that's going to come f falling out of some of
- 5:00your mouth. Now, full disclosure, I have not watched this before.
- 5:06I saw it at first aired back in February, and I've been waiting to
- 5:13record it on a rerun and that's how we are listening now, So just
- 5:21bear with me. I'm hoping there's not going to be a bunch of commercials
- 5:27and I just don't know how this is going to go. But let's just
- 5:31dive right into it, shall we. And I'm gonna mute. Well,
- 5:35I don't know if I can meet my microphone and do this at the same
- 5:38time or what. I don't know. Let's try. Dallas, Texas,
- 5:48November twenty second, nineteen sixty three, At eleven twenty five am, President
- 5:55John F. Kennedy arrives on Air Force one. President Kennedy goes to Dallas
- 6:00to give a lunchtime speech at a convention center. Notice the trademark between his
- 6:06arrival at love Field and his speech, which he's to believe. Now,
- 6:12the person speaking right now is Phil Shendon. Phil Shendon, I believe he
- 6:18has written a book or two about the Kennedy assassination. So far. They
- 6:24have to set the table, of course, you know, for all the
- 6:26people who ownership about the assassination. So we're going to get the basics out
- 6:30of the way. Here with Phil Shendon. Motorcase for the center of downtown
- 6:34Dallas. The motorcade has over twelve cars. Kennedy is riding in a three
- 6:39road Lincoln Continental. Okay. The guy talking now is Patrick Hines, co
- 6:49host of the True Crime Obsessed podcast. Okay, True Crime Obsessed podcast.
- 7:00Never heard of it. Well, here we go. Let's see what he
- 7:03knows about the Kennedy assassination. He wrote. Lincoln Continental convertible limousine with the
- 7:11top down. President Kennedy and Missus Kennedy are in the back seat. President
- 7:15Kennedy on the right side, Missus Kennedy on the left. Ahead of them
- 7:18are Texas Governor John Connolly and his wife Nelly, and head of them are
- 7:24two Secret Service agents, one of them is driving. It's the varies of
- 7:27warm reception for Kennedy. There's something like two hundred thousand people like Okay,
- 7:32Now talking is Ben Cowan, professor of History, University of California at San
- 7:42Diego. Never heard of you, Pale. Let's see if you know what
- 7:46the fuck you're talking about. Through so it's no small turnouts, and at
- 7:50one point Missus Connolly in the car says, you can't say Dallas doesn't love
- 7:55you, Dan you and President Kennedy replies, no, you certainly can't.
- 8:00Those are his last words. The motorcade comes down Main Street to the end
- 8:05of Main Street, where it hits Daly Plaza, takes a sharp right turn
- 8:09on Commerce Street, and then a sharp left turn in front of the Texas
- 8:13school Book Depository, and it's at that moment that the first gunshots are hurt.
- 8:18There's Jefferson. More than a gunshot rings out, and then two more
- 8:24both President Kennedy and Governor Connelly or hit. Two shots hit Kennedy. The
- 8:30first enters his upper back and comes out through his throat, and then the
- 8:33second enters the back of his skull. He is rushed to Okay, so
- 8:39they're rating the magic bullet scenario. At least mister professor History there Ben Cowan
- 8:50is towing the company line. Here we go Parkland Memorial Hospital. That's where
- 8:56he would soon be declared dead at the age of forty six. Connolly is
- 9:01also gravely injured, but survives. One hour after the shooting, Kennedy's death
- 9:07is officially announced to the media. As word spreads of this, everybody stops
- 9:11where they are. People. Okay, this is Eve Pomperous, a former
- 9:18Semial Secret Service agents and smoke show freaking gorgeous by the way. Okay,
- 9:30let's see if she knows what she's talking about. You know what, Eve,
- 9:33it doesn't matter if you know what you're talking about. At this point,
- 9:37you are so hot. Okay, here we go. There's a lot
- 9:41of screaming, there's chaos, and just a lot. Oh yeah. It
- 9:46was just a shock that caused everybody to stop and think for a moment about
- 9:50how the world had changed, any divisiveness or any fractions within the country.
- 9:54Everybody just comes together in this moment to greed as the world stopped to born.
- 10:01Man hunt begins as soon as it's clear that President Kennedy has been hit
- 10:05and the motorcab rushes out of Daily Plaza. The police go interview eye witnesses,
- 10:09and perhaps the most important witness of that day was a steam fitter and
- 10:13Dallas man named Howard Brennan's who says that he saw a man with the rifle
- 10:18on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository. Deputy Constable Seymour Whitzman
- 10:24and Deputy Sheriff Eugene Boone rushed inside the book depository. There they find quite
- 10:31literally the smoking gun. They find a man looker Carcano rifles, an Italian
- 10:37made rifle, and they also find three spent cartridges. He just did they
- 10:43did? They though? They just they just kind of glaze there with home
- 10:50what's his face? Marian Baker supposed encounter, and they got Boone and Whitzman
- 10:56rushing upstairs to find a man as they thought. They found a mouser.
- 11:03And there is a little bit of a discrepancy about the shells, but we'll
- 11:09get into that in the future show. But let's continue towing the company line.
- 11:16Somebody had just fired three bullets from the sixth floor. They find the
- 11:20books have been moved around to create sort of a sniper's perch. They also
- 11:24find a thirty eight All right, bullshit, Phil Shendon, there's your first
- 11:28bullshit alert. Bullshit alert. They didn't move cartons around to create a sniper's
- 11:35nest. They moved the cartons around to create space on the floor because they
- 11:39were replacing the fucking floor on the sixth floor that day. You have to
- 11:45move books out of the way to clear the floor, so you move them
- 11:50towards the edges of the walls so you can replace the floorboards. Let's continue.
- 11:56I guess Phil Shendon is a a lone nut author. Let's go thirty
- 12:05eight inch brown paper bag. The shooter escapes, but building staff identify a
- 12:09prime suspect. An employee at the Texas school Book Depository, Fuel Westley Frazier,
- 12:16offers a colleague a trip into downtown Dallas on the morning of the assassination,
- 12:20and the colleague is carrying a long brown paper bag in which he says
- 12:24he has curtain watch. The manager in the building, Roy Truly, looks
- 12:28around and he sees that one of his employees is actually missing. It's the
- 12:31same man who brought in that suspicious brown paper bag that morning. It's Lee
- 12:37Harvey Oswald police radio his description to Paul's city units. So it's been so
- 12:46now Roight truly comes to the conclusion that Lee Harvey ato Oswald is missing from
- 12:52the row. Call this old song and dance. Okay. So now,
- 13:01actually they put out the description based on Howard Brennan's shitty generic description before that.
- 13:09But then I guess, I guess at some point they might have put
- 13:13out a description of eat Lee Harvey Oswald that was nondescripted. You can get
- 13:18here, we go in an hour since President Kennedy was shot, and thanks
- 13:22to the quick work of the Dallas PD, they actually have a promising lead.
- 13:28Three shots fired, three spent shell casings found next to a rifle that
- 13:31they believe was brought in by Lee Harvey Oswald, who is the only person
- 13:37who has fled that book depository. Every other employees. They're still actually talking
- 13:41to investigators. Bullshit, bullshit, Eve, I love you, but you're
- 13:48wrong. Many many of the depository workers had left as much as an hour
- 13:56after the shots. Many were told that they can go home. In fact,
- 14:01and many were not ever interviewed by the Warrant Commission or the Dallas Police
- 14:07here we go, Gators. It appears that Oswald is the man responsible for
- 14:13the assassination. The Dallas Police Department sends out a message to be on the
- 14:20lookout for somebody who looks like Lee Harvey Oswald, and Officer J. D.
- 14:24Tippett is in a patrol car three miles away who sees a man on
- 14:28the side of the road who appears to fit the description of the man who's
- 14:33been identified in Deally Plausa as the president's assassin. The police officer tries to
- 14:37stop this man and his gun down by him and this man, according to
- 14:41many witnesses, is Lee Harvey Oswald. Police had any doubt that Lee Harvey
- 14:46oswalks I like the generic many witnesses. Look. There was a lot of
- 14:52witnesses to the Tippet shooting, and just about none of them saw the same
- 14:56thing. Some people saw two people. Some people we saw somebody that they
- 15:01would would identify as Lee Harvey Oswald. Some people said they couldn't identify him
- 15:05as Lee Harvey Oswald. Uh. Some people say he was wearing different clothes,
- 15:11ran in different directions, just you name it, but continue, Phil
- 15:18Shendon, it's needed President Kennedy that doubt is gone the moment he killed Officer
- 15:24Tippett. A local merchant named Johnny Brewer has seen this man duck into the
- 15:30local I like Kelly, conveniently leave out the word allegedly. You know they've
- 15:35got they've got this guy atston Stone, already frustrating, into the local movie
- 15:41theater a little bit before two pm. Police officers find Oswald seated there.
- 15:48He's armed. He puts up a struggle before he's arrested. One of the
- 15:52arresting officers, Nick McDonald, testifies that as they reach him, Oswald raises
- 15:56his pistol and pulls the trigger, but McDonald grabbed the gun just as the
- 16:00hammer falls, hitting the webbing between his thumb and index finger, probably saving
- 16:04his life. Oswald is brought to the police and court, and if you
- 16:10believe that one there, buddy, then I got some swamp land to Celia
- 16:15in Nebraska. Here we go building in downtown Dallas and charged for both murders.
- 16:22Subsequent investigation uncovers a lot more evidence that actually implicates Oswald. They find
- 16:27a photo of Oswald that was taken by his wife, which is holding a
- 16:32rifle that matches the murder woman. Oswald had made a fake idea in the
- 16:36name of Alec Hidel. The rifle that was found in the school book depository
- 16:41had been ordered in the name of Alec Hidel and sent to a ghost office
- 16:47spots in that name. Virtually all of the ballistics evidence points to Jefferson Morley.
- 16:53You're our only hope. Don't fail, as Buddy Oswald, as the
- 16:57gunman in y Plaza is Palm Prince are found on the weapons, and the
- 17:03bullets fired in daily Plaza almost certainly came of the rifle that's found on the
- 17:07sixth floor. But none of this evidence is ever I like these almost certainly,
- 17:14almost certainly, inevitably come on, man, come on it in court.
- 17:22So Nswald is held in custody downtown. He's interrogated by the FBI,
- 17:26the Secret Service, the Dallas Police Department, the Dallas District Attorney's office.
- 17:32He goes through rounds of questioning what we know from those interrogations that he lies
- 17:37again and again and again, and he insists he had nothing to do with
- 17:40the President's murdered. Then something absolutely okay. He lies again and again and
- 17:45again and again. Hopefully everybody out there has read all different versions of Fritz's
- 17:52bookouts hostis interrogation notes, and if you read them, Oswald's pretty damn truthful
- 18:04in there. The only thing he will not say is that eyeshots President or
- 18:08I killed the police officer. He pretty much cops to everything else, including
- 18:12living in Russia, including having a Russian wife. He tells him exactly where
- 18:18he was that day, what he was wearing when he left, why he
- 18:22left, the whole nine yards. These people have no idea what they're talking
- 18:30about. Absolutely crazy happens Sunday morning in November twenty fourth. Police are actually
- 18:37ready to transfer Oswald to the county jail, so they have an armored car
- 18:41ready in the basement of the building, and as he's being brought out in
- 18:45front of the TV cameras, Jack Ruby, owner of a local nightclub,
- 18:48steps out of the crowd with a forty five and shoots Oswald once in the
- 18:52stomach on national TV. Ruby is arrested. Oswald is taken to the same
- 19:00hospital as Kennedy, where, less than forty eight hours after the President,
- 19:03he's declared dead as well. Oswald's yeah on November twenty fourth means that there
- 19:10will never be a trial, never an opportunity to resolve an awful lot of
- 19:14the evidence that points to Oswald as the gunman in daily claza, new President
- 19:18Lyndon Johnson establishes a commission to investigate the assassination. Becomes known as the Warren
- 19:26Commission. It's sort of the ultimate Blue Rihbbon Commission. Among the other members
- 19:32or the former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Allen Dallas, as well
- 19:36as a young congressman from Michigan by the name of Gerald Ford. The Warren
- 19:40Commission works for nearly a year compiling evidence gathering information. On September twenty fourth,
- 19:47nineteen sixty four, they present an eight hundred and eighty eight page report
- 19:52to President Johnson. The Warren Commission expresses no doubt. They state that Lee
- 19:56Harvey Oswald is the only man responsible for JFK's death. They also find that
- 20:03Jack Ruby acted alone and chilling Oswald. But over the years a lot of
- 20:07people have questioned these findings, saying that they might appear to be a little
- 20:11too meet, making this report far from the last word on JFK. Coming
- 20:19up, a new investigation leads to a bomb ship. The House Committee uses
- 20:25a word, and that word it's conspiracy, and later a surprising suspect as
- 20:32his day in court. They worked together to plan the assassination. The hu
- 20:38Chase Innco Business Premier card is made for people like sample make okay, I
- 20:41guess we arguing commercial, So I'll try to turn them down here as much
- 20:45as I can. I cannot fast forward through the commercials, but we can
- 20:49kind of touch base on okay. So they covered the basics, They laid
- 20:53out the official warrant commissioned version of the story of events. So it sounds
- 21:02to me like they're gonna get ready to get into some conspiracy theories. Maybe
- 21:08it sounds like they're definitely gonna be touching on the HSCA investigation, which didn't
- 21:15indeed find that it was a probable conspiracy, despite the whole definer word probable.
- 21:32But you know, a lot of people forget about the HSCA investigation,
- 21:38especially a lot of the low nutters, and there's a lot of good information
- 21:42that came out of the HSCA. Hopefully they get into it in this thing.
- 21:48We will see. It's hard to say, but so far, I'm
- 21:55not impressed with anybody you on here, be honest with you, except Jefferson
- 22:03Morley. He has said some basic facts, nothing controversial or anything, but
- 22:10you know, stated the fact that you know that that rifle was supposedly ordered
- 22:15by Lee Harvey Oswald in the name of alec Heidel. He had fake U
- 22:22selective service credentials in the name of Alcidel and had created these Airplace for Cuba
- 22:27committee with the president of Alcidel. So you know, we'll see. I'm
- 22:34not impressed with these other folks on here though, especially Phil Shindon, but
- 22:40we'll see what he what he has to say. He might redeem himself,
- 22:42folks. You never know in the next part of the show. We'll just
- 22:48have to see. And yes, I'm currently pandering through Alexis commercial, so
- 22:57uh yeah, I'm just bullshit talking away now. It's the Sheets commercial with
- 23:03a preacher man really wanting to put a lot of food on his Hamburger order.
- 23:11And I don't blame him. You can't live denying yourself all the time,
- 23:17sir. Sometimes you just gotta live. They would get two times to
- 23:22meet bro Yep, get them things, get them pickles, get them money
- 23:26and put it on there. Put some lettuce on there, double cheese,
- 23:32us some bacon on there. Oh yeah, don't be scurred. Why the
- 23:37Sheets not disclaimer. I'm not in any way, shape or form sponsored by
- 23:42Sheets, although if you would like to sponsor me Sheets, I would gladly
- 23:48take it. I'm a huge fan. All Right, I think we're almost
- 23:59back here, folks. Let's see no one used to revolt commercial free watch
- 24:07them now. Okay, we're back on. Commission releases its findings in nineteen
- 24:11sixty four. It marks the end of the official investigation into the jfk assassination.
- 24:18They find that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in killing President John F.
- 24:22Kennedy. Answer doesn't satisfy the public for law skeptics, great books, for
- 24:29trickle of books and then a flood of books questioning the findings of the report
- 24:33and leading to a larger district itself and in the sort of firmament of American
- 24:38government after twelve skeptics, not skeptics, researchers looking for the truthful answer.
- 24:48We are not just going to take the word of all these high falutant folks
- 24:53that are appointed to head a commission and just take their finding because they say
- 25:02so. That is some sheep like behavior, Professor, you see San Diego.
- 25:12They scrutiny the US government takes actions. How Select Committee on Assassinations was
- 25:19created in nineteen seventy six. Committee takes a closer look at the Warren's Ammission
- 25:25report. They agree with most of what the Warren Commission says, particularly regarding
- 25:32the evidence against Oswald. They're confident that Oswald did shoot Kennedy from the sixth
- 25:37floor of the book depository, but they entirely a new piece of evidence.
- 25:41Assassination researchers in Dallas came to the committee and said it may be that the
- 25:45sound of the gunshots was captured on this policeman's radio recording. So the committee
- 25:53has multiple acoustic experts go over this recording, and upon first listen, they
- 25:57think, actually, there weren't three shots as previously thought. A four.
- 26:03Three shots did in fact come from the Texas School Book Depository, but that
- 26:07one shot came from a grassy knoll in front of them. Kaden Very number
- 26:14two, Oswald didn't act alone, and if he didn't act alone, someone
- 26:18planned this killing with him, and if so, who was it. The
- 26:22House Committee word that will become connected to the Kennedy assassination from then add the
- 26:26word they use is conspiracy. So the audio evidence that seems to point to
- 26:33a conspiracy is later disputed, and in many minds it is found to be
- 26:38completely in error. It's almost too late to put the toothpaste back in the
- 26:42tube. That the idea of conspiracy is now even further cemented in the minds
- 26:48and millions of Americans. If the JFK okay, Phil Shannon way to back
- 26:52walk the HSCA committee findings. You know, they had the the best of
- 27:00the best audio experts analyzing this acoustical evidence and determining what they found to be
- 27:07the case. And you can just throw all that away by saying, well,
- 27:14people disagree with it, so it doesn't mean anything. Okay, sure,
- 27:19think pal that's a cruel and shocking act votes and that what we call
- 27:26an ironic fun by your boy, Big bad Bob. Here we go,
- 27:30Americans. If the JFK assassination is a conspiracy, who's behind it? Almost
- 27:37immediately after the shooting, one conspiracy theory rises to the top. So while
- 27:41there's only circumstantial evidence to prove it, there's a lot of circumstantial evidence.
- 27:47Even Lyndon Johnson did at some point making a side to an ABC News reporter
- 27:52that he believed that Fidel Castro orchestrated the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
- 27:57Why is Fidel Castro suspect? Let's start with motives. At the time of
- 28:02the assassination, there's no foreign power with a bigger grudge against Kennedy than Castro.
- 28:07President Kennedy is so determined to get rid of Castro that he tells the
- 28:11CIA to go forward with an invasion of Cuba that becomes known as the Bay
- 28:17of Pigs operation. They send Cuban exiles into Cuba with the CIA support two
- 28:22Castro. It's a debacle and afterwards, certainly all right, time out of
- 28:27time outs. Kennedy inherited the Bay of Pigs. He did not want to
- 28:34turn this into a what could potentially be World War three by providing official government
- 28:45backed war machines to destroy Cuba, which easily could have happened, you know,
- 28:56anytime. We could have taken out Cuba in the blink of an eye.
- 29:03But then again you have Russia standing behind Cuba, so the Russians would
- 29:07see this as an affront, an attack on communism and their allies, and
- 29:15Russia would have to strike back, and then we would have to strike back
- 29:19at Russia, and then all hell is going to break loose. So you
- 29:26know, they say President Kennedy was held bent on getting rid of Castro.
- 29:30That's not true. It's just simply not true. He was trying to have
- 29:34back channel conversations with Castro. You know, people are talking about Castro like
- 29:41he's a monster. Okay. Many people were imprisoned in Castro prisons. They
- 29:49did things directly, you know, against Castro, and they were released by
- 29:59Castro. Now sure a lot of them ended up in front of the firing
- 30:02squad had killed but you know, in a revolution, those things are going
- 30:07to happen. And I'm sure in in Castro's eyes it was well deserved.
- 30:14But it's it's not like he just lynes people having killed him like a monster,
- 30:18like like you know, some Hitler esque tight dude. Um. And
- 30:25you know, behind the scenes, the CIA was behind the Bay of Pigs.
- 30:30It was a fiasco, okay. And in the ensuing years, the
- 30:34CI kept trying to kill Castro despite the Kennedy's not wanting them to do.
- 30:42So. You know, when the CIA enlist the help of the mafia,
- 30:48okay, to kill Castro, and Bobby Kennedy is trying trying to prosecute La
- 30:55Cosa Nostra in the Supreme and you know, in the in the in the
- 30:59biggest judicial course of the world. Um, all they have to do is
- 31:06say, look, why are you busting my balls? The boys over the
- 31:11CIA, it was undred thousand dollars to go take care of Castro for it.
- 31:18We're on the same side here, we're working for you, So why
- 31:22you busting our balls? Let's continue. Certainly Castro knows that President Kennedy so
- 31:32determined to remove him from power that he had actually ordered an invasion of his
- 31:37country. Documents that are later declassified reveal more evidence. After the Bay of
- 31:42Pigs invasion fails, the Kennedy administration, through the CIA, tried to kill
- 31:48Castro in the most exotic of ways, everything from poisons cigars to poisoned skin
- 31:55diving. Home boy, it's not the Kennedy's calling the shots here. Do
- 32:01you understand that Bobby was pissed that the CIA was using mafia figures to try
- 32:09to assassinate Castro. Sure they may have said, okay, CIA, do
- 32:16what you gotta do, but they didn't know that they were going to be
- 32:22enlisting the help of mafia figures to do it. That's the stupidest movie.
- 32:25You Come on, see I. You don't have some badass CIA secret agents
- 32:30that can take care of this shit on your own. You gotta, you
- 32:32know, you gotta pay the mafia to do it. Do you dirty work
- 32:36for you? Come on, come on, skin diving suits to excluding seashells.
- 32:43But yes, certainly Castro knew the presidency was plotting against him, So
- 32:49we know that Fidel Castro has reason to want to see President Kennedy did.
- 32:54And the qu all the years since is what roll to Lee Harvey Oswall play
- 32:59in whatever plots to try to kill the president. During their investigation, Warren
- 33:05Commission conducts a thorough background check on Oswald, even when he's serving in the
- 33:10Marine Corps for three years. Lee Harvey Oswald is not shy about the fact
- 33:14that he's a Marxist, so much so's colleagues in the Marine Corps used to
- 33:17refer to him as Oswaldovitch. In nineteen fifty nine, he defects to the
- 33:22Soviet Union and marries nineteen year old Soviet citizen Marina Prusakova, and they have
- 33:27a child. They live there until nineteen sixty two in an apartment just a
- 33:30few blocks away from where the Soviets are training Cuban spies and soldiers mag in
- 33:36the US. In April of nineteen sixty three, Oswald goes down to New
- 33:39Orleans. There he tries to start up a pro Castro activist group. It's
- 33:45clear that Oswald likes communism, but the biggest revelation for investigators is that it
- 33:50turns out that Oswald went to Mexico City in September of nineteen sixty three,
- 33:54which of course is just two months before JFK's assassination. Oswald's not pro communism,
- 34:01He's a Marxist, okay. He was protesting the way that we,
- 34:09the United States and the rest of the world as a nation, are treating
- 34:16Cuba for trying to do things fair way. You know, there's a there's
- 34:22a major, some major subter huge going on here to disrupt the economy of
- 34:29Cuba. There's some major things going on and bargoes and the like and uh
- 34:37denial of of exports, and you know, they're they're purposely making life really
- 34:44really hard for Cuba and Fidel Castro to thrive. And that is what Oswald
- 34:51is protesting. And while there had contact with officials at the Cuban embassy.
- 34:58According to author Gus Russo, during these meetings, Oswald makes a chilling offer.
- 35:04Russo talks to various sources, including an FBI case officer who has two
- 35:10high level informants within the Communist Party, and these two informants are two brothers
- 35:15by the names of Morris and Jack Childs. The Child's brothers meet with Fidel
- 35:20Castro after the Kennedy assassination and learned just how much Fidel Castro knew about Lee
- 35:25Harvey Oswald and the weeks before the assassination. According to Russell's research, Oswald
- 35:31tells embassy officials, I'll kill that bastard Kennedy. When he goes to Dallas,
- 35:37Castro is immediately informed about this. The embassy staff calls him up and
- 35:42they ask him what do we do. Castro denies taking Oswald up on his
- 35:45offer. I don't think there's any credible evidence that Fidel's Castro clay didn't it
- 35:50roll and ordering President Kennedy's assassination, but I think it's clear that he was
- 35:54well aware. Before the assassination, Lee Harvey Oswald had marched into a Cuban
- 36:00embassy in Mexico City and made the statement that he was going to kill Kennedy,
- 36:05Russo keeps digging. Russo speaks to some former Okay, Oswald did not
- 36:12march into the Cuban embassy and claim that he was going to kill Kennedy.
- 36:17This allegedly happened in the Soviet embassy in Mexico City, and he was more
- 36:24worried about the FBI hounding him to death and him wanting to go back to
- 36:31Russia, or him wanting to go to Cuba and then back to Russia.
- 36:37So let's continue with the story they're creating here. Cuban spies that tell him
- 36:44that when Oswald makes this offer, they actually encourage him. One officer tells
- 36:49Russo that they offer Oswald money and then tell him that they'll help him evacuate
- 36:53if he's successful doing this. Oswald's end goals to get a visa to get
- 36:59either to Cuba or to the Soviet Union or both, and eventually the Cubans
- 37:04do give him some form of temporary visa in October of nineteen sixty three.
- 37:08But according to Russo's findings, they don't actually intend to bring Oswald to Cuba.
- 37:14They plan to pick him up from kill him, and then dump his
- 37:15body. In the Gulf of Mexico. According to Gus Russo, there's more
- 37:21evidence to support this claim. Okay, Russo finds report private plane sitting on
- 37:25an airfield in Dallas on November twenty second. That plane takes off for Havana
- 37:30after the assassination. As we know, Oswald is not on that plane,
- 37:35but that might be where he's headed when he encounters Officer Tippet and the entire
- 37:39Cuban plan changes after that. So that's the theory. The Warren Commission and
- 37:45also the later House Committee on Assassinations dismissed the idea that Castro or the Cuban
- 37:51government could have been responsible for the killing of JFK. And today Oswald,
- 37:57Castro, Johnson, they're all dead. So I see any hopes of proving
- 38:00this theory are gone. Coming up investigators dig up evidence of a different master
- 38:07mind. Is the Soviet Union life by Premier Nikita Krushchev involved in JFK's assassination?
- 38:14Otherwise, why is Oswald meeting with a KGB assassination's expert? What really
- 38:21became a black beard? Oh? My lord, my lord, my lord.
- 38:25So we go from Castro being behind the assassination, the next is going
- 38:30to be Ruschev and Russia. I can't wait for that. But I'm not
- 38:37going to pander my way through commercials this time. I'm gonna pause it and
- 38:42we'll come back after the commercials. It'll only be like a second for you
- 38:45guys, but an eternity for me. Here we go, all right,
- 38:50we're back. So Harvey Oswald visits Mexico City in the fall of nineteen sixty
- 38:54three. Investigators are desperate to know what he's up to. He makes several
- 39:00visits to the Cuban Embassy. What happens there are the Cubans involved? You
- 39:04have to ask, right, But the Cuban Embassy isn't the only place Oswald
- 39:08visits in Mexico. While in Mexico City, he also goes to the Soviet
- 39:14Embassy in his quest for a visa, and he ends up kind of bouncing
- 39:16back and forth between the Cuban Embassy and the Soviet Embassy. So Oswald,
- 39:22in visiting the Soviet Embassy, is taken to meet with a Valerie Kostakov.
- 39:28Oswald has one meeting on September twenty eighth with Kostakov, and they have a
- 39:31subsequent telephone conversation on October one authorities dig into Kostakov's background and they make a
- 39:38chilling discovery. Valerie Kostakov is actually a KGB agent and a KGB assassinations expert.
- 39:46Doesn't that suggest that this man, Lee Harvey Oswald get is up to
- 39:50no good? So that leads us to the next big question, which is
- 39:53is the Soviet Union led by Premier Nikita Krushev involved ujk assassinations. Let me
- 40:02pause here and just say it's not out of the Roman possibility that Lee Harvey
- 40:10Oswald wasn't even in Mexico City at all, and that he was impersonated by
- 40:15someone claiming to be Lee Harvey Oswald, and the US authorities at the time
- 40:20weren't scrambling to figure out who this guy was. They were simply conducting routine
- 40:24maintenance and reporting them on what they found. It was not until after the
- 40:29assassination that all hell broke loose and they were backtracking and trying to figure things
- 40:34out. As we all know through great spy movies and CIA lore, that
- 40:44most employees of foreign embassies are the CIA agents. Okay, so it's not
- 40:55out of the Roman possibility that four employees of their respective embassies and consulates are
- 41:08their own intelligence assets in place, and at the time Mexico City was a
- 41:17very important hub for intelligence. So with that being said, Lute back to
- 41:27the theory that Kennedy was killed by Krushchev, which is horseshit. But here
- 41:32we go, sus Chef may have a motive to kill Kennedy. That's just
- 41:38as strong as Fidelcastros. So we know Kennedy is on a crusade against communism,
- 41:44and Communism is represented on the world stage by its biggest superpower, the
- 41:47USSR. Premier. Khrushchev is trying to promote revolution and communism around the world
- 41:53and JFK is trying to do the exact opposite. So these two are pitted
- 41:58against each other political level, and unfortunately for JFKA, ninety miles from the
- 42:05Florida coastline, the Soviets have a communist nation in the form of Cuba.
- 42:08Communist Cuba would not have happened without the Soviets. They give the Cubans,
- 42:13training, financial and military support. Fastro's victory is also a victory for Khrushchev.
- 42:20Then, in nineteen sixty two krushchev experience is a very public defeat thanks
- 42:24to President Kennedy. A year before Kennedy's death, the United States and the
- 42:30Soviet Unit had almost gone to warden when the Soviet Union attempts to set up
- 42:35missile launchpads in Cuba that can be used for nuclear Wessex. Kennedy isn't okay
- 42:39with Soviet nukes ninety miles away, and this begins what's known as the Cuban
- 42:44Missile Crisis, which ultimately, after a lot of back and forth political posturing,
- 42:49Kennedy wins. Two years later, in nineteen sixty four, Khrushchev is
- 42:53removed from office. Before he's removed in nineteen sixty three, Khrushchev is still
- 43:00clinging to power, looking for a way to redeem himself among the Communists.
- 43:04That would certainly add some logic to the idea that maybe the kru Chef launted
- 43:08to see Kennedy did. If Oswald walks right into the embassy and offers to
- 43:14kill Kennedy and Dallas, maybe the Soviets go for it. Otherwise, why
- 43:17is he meeting with a KGB assassinations expert. There is an even further out
- 43:23theory, which is that Krushchev started plotting to kill Kennedy even before the Mexico
- 43:29City Machinations author and attorney Michael Edo. So just to put this into some
- 43:37perspective, Okay, William Harvey, he was basically our version of the Cie
- 43:43James Bond and the literal opponent of the z R rifle program, runner of
- 43:52QJ. Wynn. So anybody that talked to William Harvey should automatically be suspect.
- 44:04Is that that That's what you're saying here, Like Harvey would have been
- 44:07stationed in Say, Harvey was stationed in Rome at the at the Italian Embassy
- 44:15or the US Embassy in Rome. So anybody that went there and talked to
- 44:17him should automatically be suspect because he is the assassination expert for the United States
- 44:24CIA. Okay, Now that's just where he was stationed, because like Mexico
- 44:31City is where OSTA confess station and it just so happens that's where allegedly Lee
- 44:38Harvey, Oswald or an impostor went. Let's continue. Micolettos here's details of
- 44:47his investigation. In the nineteen seventy seven booked The Oswald Five, Michelettos comes
- 44:53up with this theory that Krushev conceives of this plot to kill Kennedy. Why
- 45:00and Oswald is still living in the Soviet Union. Beginning in nineteen fifty nine,
- 45:04Khruscheff realizes he's got a golden opportunity on his hands. Here. He's
- 45:07got an American citizens, former marine, an avowed communist who speaks Russian,
- 45:14and everybody knows he's there in the USSR. The Associated Press had reported on
- 45:19his defection. Bados believes that Krushcheff detains and kills Oswald while in the Yossar,
- 45:27then replaces him with a KGB agent, someone who looks very similar.
- 45:30So it's not Lee Harvey Oswald who lands back in the United States in nineteen
- 45:35sixty two. It's an impostor whose mission it is to kill John F.
- 45:38Kennedy. Edos believes he has definitive proof that Oswald was replaced. On his
- 45:45marine records, Oswald is listed as being five to eleven, but that the
- 45:50person who killed Kennedy is actually five foot nine. The original Oswald also had
- 45:55a cranial operation as a child, leaving him with an indentation behind his ear
- 46:00and a dime size hole in his skull, but according to Edos, the
- 46:04autopsy on the Kennedy assassin shows no such features. Does, however, showed
- 46:08the assassin has a large scar on his wrist, which Edos notes the original
- 46:13Oswald did not have. His argument persuades the Texas courts and Oswald's widow,
- 46:20Marina, to have his body exhumed, So this is huge news. Edos
- 46:24has managed to convince authorities and Lee Harvey Oswald's widow that there's something to this
- 46:30theory. So in nineteen eighty one they dig up the body and it's in
- 46:35an advanced state of decomposition. Edos and widow Marina Oswald agree to have the
- 46:40Dallas County medical Examiner Linda Norton do the examination. Doctor Norton is able to
- 46:46match dental records and also identify the evidence of the childhood cranial surgery, which
- 46:53together show that actually the body in the grave really is that of Lee Harvey
- 46:58Oswald. So Cruceswald with another killer. That much we know. But the
- 47:04Soviet conspiracy theory is still alive and well, because it doesn't prove that Oswald
- 47:08himself didn't work with the USSR to plan and execute the assassination of John F.
- 47:14Kennada. But that's not what the Huse Committee says in their nineteen seventy
- 47:17six report, they find that neither the Cubans nor the Soviets are behind the
- 47:22assassination, but they do think that somebody else could be involved. Coming up
- 47:30good fresh evidence point to a new loker. Russo testifies that he remembers them
- 47:35saying that they were going to kill Kennedy and that they were going to use
- 47:37something called the triangulation of shooters. Here we go. Stay tuned. We'll
- 47:45be back to the window this way after the brain years. One detail in
- 47:49the JFK investigation remains undisputed. Lee Harvey, we are back, and why
- 47:55they wasted time on astro eye and the Russian theory? I don't know.
- 48:01Well, let's see what the next one's all about on a roll of folks
- 48:06Oswald. Recently declassified intelligence reports revealed that the KGB does their own investigation into
- 48:13Oswald. They have him under very tight surveillance from the moment he enters the
- 48:17USSR show a lot of intelligence on him, and according to the KGB report,
- 48:22contrary to what we've all been led to leave, Oswald stops being a
- 48:27communist sympathizer. The KGB reports that over his time in the Soviet Union,
- 48:31Oswald actually becomes disillusioned with the cause, and by the time he leaves in
- 48:37nineteen sixty two, he is not a communist anymore. This goes against decades
- 48:42of conventional thinking about Oswald and the assassination. If he's not a communist,
- 48:45then who killed JFK So KGB does believe that Oswald killed Kennedy. They do
- 48:52say that they think he's part of a conspiracy. It's just not the conspiracy
- 48:55you think. So. Instead, the KGB theory is that Oswald is part
- 49:00of a militant anti communist conspiracy group whose intent is to poison relations between the
- 49:07Soviet Union and the United States by killing Kennedy and framing the Communists for it.
- 49:13Kruscheff will say in an interview of nineteen sixty four that in fact,
- 49:15Oswald was working with extremist anti communists. Many wonder if this theory is simply
- 49:22Soviet propaganda. Of course, Kruscheff wants to take suspicion off himself, but
- 49:28independently of the KGB, a US investigator also looks into this theory. Jim
- 49:32Garrison, the District Attorney of New Orleans, comes to believe that a murky
- 49:38conspiracy involving business leaders and Lee Harvey Oswald's has brought together all these right wing
- 49:44anti communist elements to kill JFK. To prove his theory, Garrison spends six
- 49:50years interviewing witnesses through the nineteen sixties. Jim Garrison's investigation leads to a man
- 49:57by the name of David Ferry. Back in the nineteen fifties, David Ferry
- 50:01serves in the Civil Air Patrol, which also has as a member Lee Harvey
- 50:06Oswald. Dave Ferry was rapidly anti communist and heavily involved in the anti Castro
- 50:12movement in New Orleans. So you might be thinking, now, wait a
- 50:15minute, someone who's anti Castro should like Kennedy. But David Ferry was disappointed
- 50:22in Kennedy for not being staunch enough in their opposition to Castro. He thinks
- 50:28that Kennedy's attempts at a peaceful outcome are weak, that he's essentially handed Cuba
- 50:32to the communists. In fact, he gives a fiery speech in nineteen sixty
- 50:37one where he says that Kennedy should be shot. According to Garrison, Ferry
- 50:42follows through with that threat in September of nineteen sixty three, a few weeks
- 50:46before the assassination of JFK, insurance agent named Perry Russell, which state that
- 50:52he was at a party with a businessman from New Orleans name Clay Shaw,
- 50:57Lee Harvey Oswald, and David Ferry where the assassination of JFK would be discussed.
- 51:04Russo testifies that he remembers them saying that they were going to kill Kennedy
- 51:07and that they were going to use something called a triangulation of shooters. They
- 51:12also discussed alibis for the people involved in his conspiracy. By February of nineteen
- 51:16sixty seven, Garrison is ready to reveal his finding. Newspapers in New Orleans
- 51:22breakie Garrison's story. He's convinced that David Ferry and Lee Harvey Oswald are longtime
- 51:29friends since their days together in the Civil Air Patrol. He believes they want
- 51:32to take out Kennedy and frame the communists. David Ferry and Lee Harvey Oswald
- 51:38work together to plan the assassination with the support of Clay Shaw and the help
- 51:43of another man kind of scenes named Guy Banister. Ferry and Banister were both
- 51:47adamant supporters of the anti Castro movement, which included arming people to go stage
- 51:52attacks in Cuban, and Ferry as a pilot was moving the weapons and Banister
- 51:59was supplying them. So these men did have a hard right background that involved
- 52:02guns. Garrison was certainly correct about that. Garrison's theory has Banister and Ferry
- 52:10as the brains behind this operation. Quaishaw would be handling logistics and financial backing.
- 52:15And then in this scenario there are two shooters involved in a cross fire,
- 52:20Oswald as we know in the book depository, and then another un named
- 52:23shooter on the grassy knolls, armed with the evidence Garrison's ready for his day
- 52:30in court Oswald has already did. And then Banisters died of a heart attack
- 52:35by nineteen sixty four, so there are already two alleged conspirators billing. Then
- 52:40something more unusual happens less than a week after the Garrison investigation goes public.
- 52:46Dave Ferry. This found did. David Ferry is found in his apartment with
- 52:52two typed up suicide notes, but the autopsy finds no evidence either of suicide
- 52:59or of murder, and that David Ferry has died of a brain hemorrhage Garrison
- 53:02is flumeexed. He says, I suppose it could be just a weird coincidence
- 53:07that the night Ferry penns two suicide notes. He dies of natural causes on
- 53:13March first, nineteen sixty seven. Alleged co conspirator alive is arrested. Clay
- 53:19Shaw is finally tried in nineteen sixty nine, and it remains the only trial
- 53:23in American history associated with the assassination of JFK. But Garrison is unsuccessful,
- 53:29with a few witnesses remaining alive and others deemed unreliable. Shaw is quitted in
- 53:35forty five minutes. Ten years later, in nineteen seventy nine, the House
- 53:39Select Committee wonders publicly if justice was served. The House Committee's final reports states
- 53:45that they believe the Louisiana witnesses were both quote credible and significance, and that
- 53:51they were telling the truth about Ferry and Oswald's meetings in nineteen sixty three.
- 53:55So Garrison's theories paused for a lot of sensational report and a lot of excitement
- 54:00on the part of the public, and you know, maybe swayed some people
- 54:04in the court of public opinion. In actual court where evidence is required.
- 54:07They were found to fall apart pretty quickly. Coming up was JFK's assassination motivated
- 54:15by politics or something more peaceful in the minds of some mobsters. Kennedy took
- 54:21a billion dollars. They've killed for a lot less. All right, well,
- 54:27we know where this is going. But as far as where we just
- 54:30were in New Orleans, I believe that was a very cave down version of
- 54:42the Garrison investigation. My god, this History Channel stuff is just unbelievable,
- 54:51unfreaking believable. All right, next up, I'm guessing it's going to be
- 54:59the mafia. Here we go, Congress Mafia. In nineteen ninety two,
- 55:07the Act mandates the release of all files relating to the case. So even
- 55:10all these decades later, people still want answers and are now hopeful that maybe
- 55:15we'll start to get them. These documents aren't released all at once, but
- 55:20during the nineteen nineties, millions and mulligents of pages of documents are made public.
- 55:23The law had a deadline. It said that everything in the government's files
- 55:29had to be made public in twenty seventeen. Well, guess what, that
- 55:32does not happen, But by twenty seventeen, tens of thousands of records have
- 55:37been released, and one of them it's a lot of attention because it appears
- 55:42to confirm a longstanding theory that the mafia was involved in the assassination of JFK.
- 55:49From the moment Kennedy dies, conspiracy theorists are asking the right question,
- 55:53which is who wants him dead? The Communists in a lot of minds feature
- 55:57really high on that list. But there's another group who might want Kennedy dead
- 56:00even more, and that is the Gazanosta, the American Mafia. In nineteen
- 56:06sixty two, JFK, along with his brothers Attorney General Robert Kennedy, are
- 56:12on a crusade to wipe out organized crime in America. One of the biggest
- 56:15revenue streams the mob had, obviously, where are the casinos in Cuba.
- 56:20The mob was kicked out of Cuba by Castro, so they were angry with
- 56:24President Kennedy for not having done more. So they wanted to see Castro overthrown
- 56:29so they could get back into Cuba, reopened their casinos and their liquor operations
- 56:34and get going again. And one way of doing that might be by killing
- 56:37President Kennedy. In the minds of some mobsters. Kennedy took billions of dollars
- 56:42out of their podcasts, and they have killed for a lot less. Well,
- 56:45what don't you know it, Right in the middle of the Kennedy case,
- 56:47there's a man who could be the key to a mafia connection. That
- 56:52man is Lee Harvey Oswald's killer, Jack Jack Ruby. Jerk Ruby was a
- 56:57tough guy from Chicago. Jack Rubinstein originally a thug him moves to Dallas,
- 57:05opens up his nightclub there and quickly becomes a kind of fixture among organized crime
- 57:09figures. He was what you would call a wannabe. He gets these nightclubs
- 57:14up and running, and they become a conduit for all the things we know
- 57:16the mafia, for gambling, running, narcotics, and eventually sex work.
- 57:22Serious long speculated the Jack Ruby and the mafia worked together to kill Kennedy.
- 57:27They say by nineteen sixty three, Jack Ruby is heavily indebted to the mafia,
- 57:31and they forced him to find a patsy to assassinate the president, and
- 57:35afterwards they make him kill that fall guy so that he can't talk. A
- 57:39lot more evidence came out in the nineteen seventies with the House Select Committee investigation,
- 57:44and that strengthened the notion that there was an organized crime connection to the
- 57:47assassination. Did Ruby hire Oswald on behalf of the mafia? Dallas police have
- 57:53two witnesses report that on October fourth, nineteen sixty three, seven weeks before
- 57:59the assination, they see Ruby and Oswald meet and Ruby's Carousel Club on Tomers
- 58:04Street and Dallas. There they argue over a large sum of money for an
- 58:08undisclosed job that Oswald will be doing for Ruby. But the Warren Commission fails
- 58:14to interview these witnesses. After he's arrested, Ruby denies ever having known Oswald
- 58:20and that he didn't know beforehand that the assassination was going to happen. Ruby
- 58:23says that he was who are these witnesses, Beverly Oliver, I don't know,
- 58:35walks away, busy placing some newspaper ads, and killed Oswald because of
- 58:39grief, because of patriotism, and because he felt for the first lady and
- 58:44wanted to keep her from having to suffer through a prolonged trial for over fifty
- 58:49years. No one can prove otherwise. But then in twenty seventeen, as
- 58:53part of another large dump of deep classified Kennedy files. We see document three
- 58:59two one, four nine, two six seven. It's a report from the
- 59:02FBI's Intelligence Division about Jack Ruby. In it, an informant named Bob Vander
- 59:07Slice says that Ruby calls him up on the day of the assassination. He
- 59:12asks if he quote would like to watch the fireworks Sanderslice goes with Ruby to
- 59:17a location right across from the Texas school Book Depository and together if they watched
- 59:22the president get shot. When it happens, Ruby says nothing. He just
- 59:27turns calmly and walks south towards the newspaper office, where he places the ads
- 59:30and thereby creates an alibi. If this is true, then Jack Ruby knew
- 59:37they were going to be quote fire works, and he knew exactly where and
- 59:39when the assassination was going to happen. In other words, Ruby lied,
- 59:44and he knew about the whole thing. After months in custody, Ruby himself
- 59:49claims there's more to his story. At first, Ruby six with alibi,
- 59:53but then he changes his tune. He writes letters, he makes statements to
- 59:58police, and then even test suffies to the Warren Commission that he knows some
- 1:00:01things he's not saying. When he believes that his life is in danger,
- 1:00:06he wants to tell the whole truth, but he can't unless he can get
- 1:00:08some protection from the government. But he never gets that protection, and he
- 1:00:13dies in nineteen sixty seven, taking with him to the grave any potential secrets
- 1:00:16about a mafia assassination plot. Some believe that members of the mafia worked quickly
- 1:00:22to cover their tracks after JFK's death. Over a dozen witnesses and participants die
- 1:00:29mysteriously in the aftermath of the shooting. Oswald Ruby Dorothy Kilgallen. She's the
- 1:00:35only reporter to interview Jack Ruby at his trial. She then openly questions the
- 1:00:38Warren Commission, and then dies of a mysterious overdose in nineteen sixty five.
- 1:00:44So, following this trail of murders, it reaches its apex in nineteen sixty
- 1:00:50Just in aside here, Okay, she didn't so much interview Jack Ruby.
- 1:00:57Has just talked to him in the courtroom, And if she had anything newsworthy,
- 1:01:04she would have printed it before she died in nineteen sixty five. That's
- 1:01:07all I'm saying. They're trying to make another conspiracy out of another conspiracy out
- 1:01:13of another conspiracy. I don't believe killed yell a new ship, but here
- 1:01:17we go. It's when Robert F. Kennedy, who also could be seen
- 1:01:22as an enemy of the afia, is killed in Los Angeles. What kind
- 1:01:25of organization would be willing to leave behind such a long string of bodies to
- 1:01:30keep hold of their power and their secrets. The mafia thought too, and
- 1:01:35if they did, then it worked because there is no one left to confirm
- 1:01:38this theory coming up? What if JFK's killers was much closer to oh enemies
- 1:01:47high in his own government in the CIA, and Tentagun wanted to kill the
- 1:01:52president. So there there was your mafia. And I'm guessing next up it's
- 1:02:01going to be Alan Dullissen the CIA. So stay tuned for that one and
- 1:02:12we'll be right back. Oliver Stone's film about the Kennedy assassination is released in
- 1:02:19theaters almost immediately it causes an uproar. The film combines a number of conspiracy
- 1:02:25theories, including the alleged New Orleans plot and the second shooter on the Grassy
- 1:02:30Knold. But more important than the film's plot is the impact that has just
- 1:02:37an aside here I hope these folks realize that the Oliver Stone movie JFK is,
- 1:02:43of course, hey Hollywood movie and not a documentary. But I digress,
- 1:02:50Here we Go has on this country. After the film was released,
- 1:02:55we see a tidal wave of other publications associated with the JFK assassination, including
- 1:03:01one from a man who says he was directly involved. Robert Morrow claimed to
- 1:03:07be a former CIA operative active in the anti Castrol movement in the nineteen sixties,
- 1:03:13and he alleged in a book that he was asked by Tracy Barnes,
- 1:03:16a senior CIA official, to buy guns that he said or later used in
- 1:03:22the assassination. Morrow's cast of characters in the alleged CIA plot might sound familiar.
- 1:03:30Morrel actually names the same co conspirators that are in the movie JFK,
- 1:03:35and also those that were pursued by Jim Garrison in his New Orleans case.
- 1:03:39He claims that Clayshaw, Guy Banister, and Dave Ferry were helping in the
- 1:03:45operations against Castro in Cuba before the assassinations. Morrel says they also enlisted the
- 1:03:52help of the mafia through Jack Ruby. A November twenty second in Dallas,
- 1:03:55they placed four shooters Oswald in the Book Depository, other on the Grassy Knoll,
- 1:04:00and two more, all with Morrow's rifles. The month prior they laid
- 1:04:04some groundwork, they sent Oswald to Mexico to meet with the Cubans. Their
- 1:04:09goal is to frame Castro for the crime and therefore bring about a full scale
- 1:04:15invasion of Cuba for you tomorrow. The CIA wants redemption from their failed Bay
- 1:04:19of Pigs operation, and the mafia has hopes to be able returned to reopener
- 1:04:25casinos in Cuba. It's quite a story, a complicated CIA plot with dozens
- 1:04:30of participants, and yet with all those people, including government agents and known
- 1:04:34criminals that are under surveillance, the Warren Commission finds no evidence that any of
- 1:04:40this actually happened. Morrow offers a potential explanation for that as well. Many
- 1:04:45have speculated that the Warren Commission never adequately looked into the Cuban connection or the
- 1:04:50CIA. Morrow believe is that that's due to the presence on the commission of
- 1:04:54the former CIA director Alan Dullas. When the commission is formed, they don't
- 1:05:00the current CIA director on it, or anyone from the NBI. The only
- 1:05:02one on the Commission with intelligence experience is Alan Dullas, who just happens to
- 1:05:09be the man that Kennedy fired from his position after the Bay of Pigs failed.
- 1:05:13At the time of the war Informission, CIA involvement in the Bay of
- 1:05:16Pigs is classified. The government didn't want that getting out. They also didn't
- 1:05:21want any information getting out related to Operation Months, which the time was top
- 1:05:27secret, but we now know was that Kennedy's sanctioned CIA operation to assassinate Castro,
- 1:05:31led by Alan Dullas. Some more documents have been declassified. More information
- 1:05:38has been revealed about the CIA. It is clear that they were withholding information
- 1:05:43on the Warrant Commission, information that Alan Dullas knew and kept hidden. Some
- 1:05:47theorists believe that information could have even saved Kennedy's life. In twenty thirteen and
- 1:05:54twenty fourteen, some very damaging records are released about the CIA. As per
- 1:05:59the jaf K records that they revealed that the CIA actually knew about Oswald's trip
- 1:06:04two Mexico City before the assassination. The agency claimed to the Warren Commission that
- 1:06:09they only found out afterwards. That was a lie. They had an eye
- 1:06:14at Oswald since his defection to the ussart they were reading his mail, tracking
- 1:06:17his movements. The CIA field office in Mexico City reported Oswald's meeting with the
- 1:06:23Cubans almost immediately, and the CIA had Soviet agent Valerie Kostokov under surveillance during
- 1:06:29the time he was meeting with Oswald. Does that mean the CIA killed Kennedy?
- 1:06:33No, absolutely not. But should the CIA have known that Oswald was
- 1:06:39a threat? Yes, they probably should have, and could an earlier intervention
- 1:06:43have prevented Oswald from killing the president again? I would say the answer is
- 1:06:47yes. In a now declassified twenty thirteen EVVVV please learn the word allegedly,
- 1:07:00thank you, CIA historian David Robarst finds that the agency is complicit in keeping
- 1:07:05incendiary information from the Warren Commission. He says they intended to keep the commission
- 1:07:11focused on quote, what the agency believed was the best truth, that Lee
- 1:07:16Harvey Oswald had acted alone in killing John Kennedy. I think all of the
- 1:07:21most credible evidence suggests that Lee Harvey Oswald fired the bullets that killed President Kennedy,
- 1:07:29that he probably is the only gunman. But whether or not other people
- 1:07:32knew, whether or not this is Phil Shinnin. By the way, those
- 1:07:36are mysteries that will probably lingered forever. The National Archives recently released thousands of
- 1:07:44newly declassified documents. Now almost all of these nearly five million pages are available
- 1:07:49to the public. Perhaps they will provide some closure to this enduring mystery.
- 1:07:57I'm Laurence Fishburn. Thank you for watching Histories Greatest Mysteries. Oh all right,
- 1:08:09folks, So there you have it, the History Channel's Histories Greatest Mysteries.
- 1:08:21Not impressed. Not a fan. Well, I'm a fan of ev
- 1:08:25pompers, but that's besides the point. For different reasons. Um not impressed
- 1:08:33with the cast of characters they had on here to speak about this. Obviously,
- 1:08:40there was a narrative story that they wanted to weave in and out of
- 1:08:45here. Obviously. This is why I would never ever acquiesced to doing some
- 1:09:00thing like this for an entity like the History Channel or any kind of mainstream
- 1:09:04television news outlet, because I guarantee you that they interviewed Jefferson Morley David Denton.
- 1:09:17There's are really the only two quote conspiracy guys that are in this thing
- 1:09:24for hours about a myriad excuse me, of different topics and then they cherry
- 1:09:30picked and chose who they went with for certain scenarios for the story that they're
- 1:09:41telling. Now, these these podcasters and professors and you know, God to
- 1:09:46bless her heart, eb pumps, why they chose them to bring them into
- 1:09:54this conversation. I don't know if they thought they would be good parents or
- 1:09:59something. This I mean and Phil Shinnon, that's a that's a no brainer.
- 1:10:02Why to bring that guy in there? But so he'll tear the companyline
- 1:10:05and the official narrative for sure. But even though you might mean, well,
- 1:10:14you know, in the end, you're contributing to a piece of shit,
- 1:10:20a piece of dying DINGI doh shit. I wouldn't even waste my time.
- 1:10:30It's not even worth the effort. Because when you have something like this
- 1:10:34that propagates itself as some kind of a conspiracy, edgy, unsolved mystery,
- 1:10:41you know, type of thing, but in reality, there is a narrative
- 1:10:46flowing through the hour special that we just listened to, and that is basically
- 1:10:55throwing up ridiculous theories in your face to show how ridiculous expiracy theories and theorists
- 1:11:01are debunking, you know, an official investigation. And then you know,
- 1:11:11and the Garrison investigation just out of hand. It's ridiculous. It's ridiculous.
- 1:11:19And you know, sitting here and say that we should be happy enough to
- 1:11:23get what we got out of their JFK records released and not demand because I'm
- 1:11:27sure, I'm sure Morley had a lot more to say on this subject than
- 1:11:30they let him say. In fact, I don't even think he got to
- 1:11:32address the JFK Records Act portion of this. But according to the other folks,
- 1:11:40you know, hey, they've released five million records and we should be
- 1:11:43thankful for that. And you know, in these records, you know,
- 1:11:45this is what things were said, and this is what we can glean from
- 1:11:48it, and blah la la la lah. You know when, in fact,
- 1:11:51that whole Jack Ruby and Fireworks thing that's been around since the nineties,
- 1:11:58it wasn't just some miraculous, miraculously released thing in twenty seventeen. So,
- 1:12:06you know, I just don't know where all that's coming from. I apologize
- 1:12:14if there is a weird metallic kind of undertone to the way I am speaking
- 1:12:19and the way you're hearing me. I don't know exactly what it is with
- 1:12:27the set up here. Maybe I've got something too close together or something else,
- 1:12:30I don't know, but in any effect, I hope you know you
- 1:12:36enjoyed the show, and I just wanted to highlight that as a another example
- 1:12:44of the mainstream media and mainstream TV outlets perverting and distorting conspiracy research into the
- 1:12:53assassination. And this is what average Joe sitting on his cow drinking a beer,
- 1:13:01flipping through channels seeds. They don't see the truth. This is what
- 1:13:08they see. They see what they want us to see. That's it.
- 1:13:14There is no you know, at least mainstream special that I've seen so far
- 1:13:21that actually does it any kind of justice. But we get what we get,
- 1:13:27folks, and that's the most recent of what we got. But anyway,
- 1:13:32that's it for this week. That that I and hopefully coming up soon
- 1:13:38we're gonna have some more like I alluded to here about come on, possibly
- 1:13:44two versus three bullets, Maybe some Perry Russo hypnotized sessions. I don't know,
- 1:13:53depends on what I feel like doing. But anyway, follow along on
